To generate an idea about the Concept ‘ Delegation of authority ‘ and the 
importance of delegation. 
Students should have an idea about the topic importance of delegation.

PHASE I [INTRODUCTORY PHASE] 
Activity 1 (problem phase) 
After usual classroom practices, teacher begins 
the class by asking the following questions. 
Who is responsible for overall activities of state 
govt. ? 
If the chief minister decides to carry all the 
activities of govt. by himself, do you think that it is 
more better . 
How can these problem be solved? 
From the res ponse of students, the teacher 
directs them into concept of ‘ Delegation of 
authority ‘. 
Students solved the problem very well.
Delegation is the process of entrusting part of 
the work by the superior to his subordinates. It 
is the administrative process of getting things 
done through others. 
PHASE II (GROUP DISCUSSION) 
Teacher divides the students into different 
groups and asks them to discuss and write 
importance or advantage of delegation of 
authority from the meaning. 
Through the response, teacher elicit the 
advantages or importance of delegation of 
authority. Then concludes the topic by showing a 
chart depicting the same. 
IMPORTANCE OF DELEGATION 
1. Reduces the work load of the managers.
