EGG OSMOSIS EXPERIMENT
• Observe osmosis in a
cell
• Put egg in vinegar
• Measure with balance
• Size with string and
measuring tape
• Put one in corn syrup
and other in water
• Weigh and measure
again
PURPOSE
Corn syrup egg
I think the egg would
look…
• Weight : Heavy
• Look : different
• Size : Bigger
Water Egg
I think the egg would
look…
• Weight : Heavy
• Look : wet
• Size : same
HYPOTHESIS
We need…
• Eggs
• 2 beakers
• Corn syrup and vinegar
and water
• Balance
• String and measuring
tape
MATERIALS
1- egg at top,
bubbles
Corn syrup egg
Before
W- 71.3
S- 17cm
After
W-44.8
S- 13
2- eggs are
floating, foam
Water Egg
W- 62.2
S-14
W- 77.0
S-18.5
3- foam at top,
more bubbles
Observations
• Corn syrup egg at top and
had bubbles
• Floating, more bubbles
and foam
• Foam at top and more
bubbles
Conclusion
• The water egg got bigger
because the water had
high concentration and
went to the egg that had
low concentration.
• The corn syrup egg got
smaller because the corn
syrup had less
concentration, so the
high concentration from
the egg went to the corn
syrup.
CORN SYRUP EGG HYPOTHESIS
• Hypothesis: wrong
• Size: smaller
• Concentration: less
• My hypothesis was wrong because I thought the corn
syrup had more concentration than the egg.
WATER EGG HYPOTHESIS
• Hypothesis: wrong
• Size: Bigger
• Concentration: High
• My hypothesis was wrong because I thought the egg
had more concentration than the water
