This document describes an experiment to observe osmosis in eggs. Students placed eggs in vinegar to remove the shells, then measured and weighed them. One egg was placed in water and one in corn syrup. After 24 hours, the egg in water gained weight and maintained its size, while the egg in corn syrup lost weight and shrank, supporting the hypothesis that osmosis would cause water to move into the egg in water but out of the egg in the higher concentrated corn syrup.
