EGG OSMOSIS EXPERIMENT
      By: Kim Gacusan
PURPOSE

To observe osmosis in
       a cell.
        1.) Place egg in vinegar

         2.) Measure the egg.

3.) Measure the size of the egg

4.) Place one egg in a beaker

5.) Weigh and measure the eggs again
HYPOTHESIS

   We need to find the
  weight, size, and look:

Corn Syrup Egg-

Heavier

Bigger

Liquid go into the egg
HYPOTHESIS

       Water Egg-

Lighter than the regular weight

Size will stay the same

It will look the same
MATERIALS

You will need:
        Egg
     2 Beakers
    Corn syrup
   Vinegar ( Acid)
MATERIALS

   Balance
    String
Measuring Tape
    Water
OBSERVATION

Corn Syrup Before After

             W-71.3g W-48.8g

             S- 17 cm S-13 cm

H2O W- 62.2g W-77.0g

             S-14cm S-18.5cm
OBSERVATION

After vinegar… After syrup 24hrs… After water 24hrs…
• They have bubbles • Egg is floating • Egg became squishy
                                                 and soft
• The egg is sitting on • More bubbles
the bottom • Egg in corn syrup
                          • There are foam was shrivelled and
                                                 puffy
CONCLUSION

      Water Egg

      • It got larger
      • Egg has lower
        concentration
      • The liquid went to the egg

       Corn syrup

       • It got smaller
       • The corn syrup has
         lower
       • Concentration
       • The egg liquid went to
         the corn syrup
CONCLUSION

      My hypothesis is wrong
      • Opposite of what the outcome
    The Corn Syrup
                              The Water
    • Bigger • Smaller
    • Harder • Harder

        But I was wrong…
        What happened is the opposite..
    The Corn Syrup The Water
     • Smaller • Smaller
     • Soft • Soft
