Global Security Challenges Facing The United States Military
There will be significant global security challenges facing the United States Military by 2025. The U.S
will face multiple, coinciding security issues from state actors and regional networks all taking full
benefit of rapid science and technological changes. Three overlapping conflicts which has the greatest
potential to influence state and non state actors and force the Armed Forces to restructure their
formations are Wars of Silicon, Iron, and Shadow. The United States must design an innovative
readiness and investment strategy to successfully deal with all three. These innovative concepts
support Combatant Commanders so; they can win in full spectrum operations and defend U.S.
interests at home and overseas. QDR 2014 provides the framework to counter these threats, which are,
rebalance for full spectrum conflicts, prioritize U.S. posture to protect U.S. interest, and rebalance the
capability, capacity, and readiness of the Joint Force. Joint Force 2025 will need to rebalance, be
technologically superior, prioritize capabilities to deter hybrid adversaries, implement and mitigate
stringent risk control measures; in addition, contend with the multifarious budgetary constraints.
The War of Silicone the greatest example of hybrid strategies will require the Armed Forces to adapt,
be innovative, and re prioritize programs within their organizations. This war represent the high bar a
potential U.S. faceoff against a state or non state actors who will use

Cultural influence of the temple of Hera
It is very clear that ancient buildings can be a part of the evidence to show what happed in the history.
As a part of ancient culture, architectural languages have the significant vale in both culture and
construction. The temple of Hera, which becomes the sign of Greek classic architecture even the
whole Europe, plays an important role in the Greece history and culture . This essay will start an
analysis from the structure and component of the temple of hera to present that how can cultural
factors affect the form and functions of a building. The temple of hera is located in the site of
Olympia, in a valley in the Peloponnesus. As a Doric construction with a size of 50.01 by 18.76 m
with three platforms, some of the walls in the temple of hera was designed to paint for recording
stories happened in earlier times while some of them was used to depict mythological events. Thus it
can be easy to found that the cultural developed prosperous and stones might start to used as the main
material of Greek buildings since that period. The temple has two statues: Hera and Jose . In addition,
the temple was also used to save

Examples of Jung’s Analytical Archetype Theory in the Film...
Martin Scorsese directed the movie Shutter Island, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, that came out on
February 19, 2010. The movie portrays many different examples of critical theory. Having watched
the movie before my analysis, when I heard of Jung s Analytical Archetype theory I linked it with this
movie almost immediately. Carl Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist, developed the idea that all archetypes are
universal images that come from the collective unconscious and are almost instinctive to us all. Jung s
critical theory examines the unique personal collective unconscious of the characters in the film.
These can vary anywhere from forgotten memories to traumas, keeping all religious, spiritual, and
mythological symbols and experiences intact. It is from this point of view that it becomes easier to
explain all the similarities between stories. There are three factors when you look at archetypes, which
are characters, situations, and symbols.
Plot Overview
Shutter Island is set in the 50 s and Edward Daniels, Teddy, is the protagonist we first encounter in the
beginning of the movie. He s portrayed as a US Marshall who s sent to Shutter Island where there s a
psychiatric facility, Ashecliffe Hospital to investigate the disappearance of a female patient with his
new partner Chuck Aule. Teddy tells Chuck that he wanted to get this case because the man who killed
his wife in a fire, Andrew Laeddis, was also on the island and went missing months ago. As they

The Power Of Women In Kate Chopin s A Respectable Woman
The Power of Women
Before women started fighting for their rights in the mid nineteenth century, women were powerless
and unequal to men. Women have fought to have the rights that they have today, before the nineteenth
century women had no rights. However, this changed when women decided to unify and fight for their
rights. They were deprived of many things; for example, the right to suffrage, gender pay gap, and
access to higher education but these are not all the battles that women wanted to fight. Women debated
that all these rights were necessary in order to achieve equality to men. Through the powerful words of
Sojourner Truth s speech Ain t I a Woman , we can see that women were not treated as equals to men.

Susan B. Anthony was best known for fighting for fighting for voting rights, she had brought her copy
of the Fourteenth Amendment of the Constitution, which guaranteed the right of citizens to vote. She
had also brought a copy of the New York State Constitution (Pollack 9 10). However, she ended up
being jailed three weeks after she voted, because men interpreted the fourteenth amendment as only
male citizens could vote and women had no right to vote. Susan was ready to fight no matter how hard
the fight would be she was ready to take it on. Women won the right to vote in 1868 when the
fourteenth amendment was ratified; however, it was officially won with the nineteenth amendment. It
states that the right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the
United States or by any State on account of sex (Ginsberg, et al, A27), this was proposed in 1919 and
ratified in 1920.
Women were not only deprived the right to vote they also had a wider pay gap and this was based
gender, this is called the gender pay gap. The gender pay gap is the difference in pay between men and
women. In Ain t I a Woman Truth emphasizes how women deserve to be treated the same as men. In
1869, many of these women are now performing the same grade of work at $900 per annum for which
men receive $1800. Most of them, too, have families to support; being nearly all either widow or
orphans made by the war (Alter);

Founded in 1880, the site of Kyle, Texas, was selected based on the location of the nearby
International Great Northern Railroad route. By 1890, the population had grown to almost 800, and in
2010, there were more than 28,000 people residing in Kyle. Despite its explosive growth, most of the
property owners in Kyle remain committed to maintaining their properties to ensure that the city
retains its quaint charm. This includes maintaining the asphalt pavement found on many city streets,

New asphalt pavement should have sealant applied within the first year following installation.
Depending on traffic volume and vehicle weights, sealant will need to be applied every two or three
years to ensure maximum protection. Sealcoating guards against sun damage as well as damage
caused by petroleum based automotive fluids. It also revitalizes the color of asphalt that has faded.
Have any breaks in the pavement repaired quickly. Cracks, deep cuts and potholes can let water drain
beneath the pavement and erode the foundation. Once the foundation has become eroded and unstable,
the pavement loses its ability to flex under load and extensive cracking can occur.
Make parking lots safer and more attractive by having fresh paint applied to mark parking spaces,
crosswalks, loading zones, travel directions, exits, handicapped parking spaces and fire lanes.
If an aging pavement has become unsightly, check to see if it can be salvaged with an overlay before
committing to a total replacement. If the foundation is stable, it might be cost effective to choose an
overlay, which is a course of asphalt applied to existing pavement.

Temperance Reform In The 19th Century
In the 19th century people did not like what the American society was turning into, so to control
behaviors, and shape cultures the way they wanted. They created reforms to create a better
environment. Reforms were made for temperance, abolitionist, antiprostitution, and other things that
people thought they needed to change in the United States. They would do this by using popular
things like songs, plays, novels, and narratives. Reformers wanted their information to develop to a
large audience, so they could participate in their reforms. Although, not all the reforms were effective
one that was very successful was the temperance reform. The 19th century was when people would
drink large amounts of alcohol, especially men, which is why the temperance reform was put in place.
On average, Americans drank about seven gallons of hard alcohol, including whiskey and other
distilled spirits. These people did not think that drinking was harmful, and they said that alcohol was
cleaner than water. Drinking was becoming out of control. For example, Ten Nights in a Bar Room is
about how Mary s father that goes to the bar way too often, and Mary goes to the bar to tell her father
to come home almost every night because she wants him to come home. One of the times she shows
up, and one the men throws a bottle at her father, but it hits her, and she dies. This shows how out of
control drinking was, and men had no self control. There was so much of biting contempt in the tones,

The Pros And Cons Of The Red Meat Industry
Economics is a discipline conventionally associated with trade and commerce although economics is a
study that may be met with various definitions. It may be viewed as a the study of how people choose
to allocate their scare resources (Wessels, 2006).Alternatively it may be viewed as a study that does
not directly relate to the study of the economy but rather a study of individuals end up choosing to
efficient allocate scarce resources with or without money (Green, 02 Apr 2003 , p. 9) .Part of
economics is the study of how products are managed in terms of how prices are determined to
efficiently allow that parties are satisfied, i.e. the producers generating profit and consumers getting
what they paid for. Therefore, the following essay ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

U.s. Government During The Cold War
Tensions during the Cold War sparked many changes in American legislation, altering the way many
lived their lives. One of the most obvious areas of change is in education, with the fear of Soviet
dominance causing transformations across the nation. The severe adjustment of government education
changed the way students learned, the information taught in the classroom, and the overall view of
education in the eyes of the public in a positive way.
Government Changes:
Summary:
Changes instigated by the U.S. government during the Cold War had a profound effect on the
educational landscape, as they altered how people viewed education, who had access to education,
what they were taught, how they were taught, etc. Although many changes were done on the local and
state level, the most considerable effects are seen after changes were made on the national scale, in
legislations such as the National Defense Education Act of 1958, and in government bodies such as
the Department of Education.
G.I. Bills(1944 1984):
The original G.I. Bill was signed into law in 1944, under the name Serviceman s Readjustment Act.
After WWI, millions of veterans returned home, only to face massive unemployment and a recession.
After WWII, twice as many veterans would return to similar issues if nothing was done. With the
chance of another recession looming, legislators created the Serviceman s Readjustment Act. The act,
which became known as the G.I. Bill, provided $500(about $6,757 today) to veterans

Some bits and pieces from the hoopla surrounding the cancelled premiere of Nureyev at the Bolshoi,
coming from people close to the situation in Moscow: The most objectionable bits in the ballet were:
i) a jumbo sized photograph by Richard Avedon of Nureyev naked with genitalia on full display as a
prominent feature of the stage decoration ii) the performer of Nureyev s role being asked to show his
naked bosom bent over with butt cheeks spread out in the scene depicting the photo shoot where the

However, there were several other factors that contributed to the chaos. Originally, the ballet was
scheduled to premier in the 2017/18 season, giving Possokhov Co. ample time. Instead, Bolshoi s big
premiere for this year was the new Anna Karenina by John Neumeier, a co production with the
Hamburg and the Canada ballet companies. However, this Karenina faced delays of its own, and
Bolshoi s head of planning Irina Chernomurova (director Vladimir Urin s wife), being a great friend of
Neumeier, decided to accommodate him and moved Karenina s Bolshoi premiere into the next season,
asking Possokhov to accelerate his work plan and get Nureyev ready for this summer. Along the way,
to keep things even clearer for Neumeier, the Bolshoi decided to sacrifice the revival of La Phille du
Pharaon, also originally considered for the 2017/18 season. So, poor planning by Bolshoi s leadership

Essay about Child Abduction in the United States
Child Abduction in the United States
It is every parent s worst nightmare. It could occur in your front yard, in front
of the school, in your house, in a store, or anywhere. Just imagine you re in your
favorite department store not but a mile away from your home and you lose sight of your
child. You look down the aisles, have your child paged, and check out at your car all to
no avail. This is exactly what happened with Reve Walsh, mother of young Adam
Walsh. This is her account of what happened from the book, Tears of Rage, written by
John Walsh and posted on the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children
website.

I ll bet he went looking for you.
Well you know how kids are, maybe he went off with the rest of the kids.
Rev #233; kept insisting that her son did not wander off, and that something was
wrong. All around, clerks kept waiting on people as if nothing had happened. She asked a
clerk to page her son. Adam Walsh, please meet your mother in the toy department.
Nothing. After going to her car twice to see if Adam had gone there and looking for him
on her own for two hours, someone finally called the police department.
The police later interviewed a security guard from the store who said that on the
day of Adam s disappearance, there had been four boys playing with the video game in
the toy department. They started causing a ruckus. She separated them and sent two boys
out the north entrance and two out the west entrance. If Adam had been put out the west
entrance, he would have been disoriented because he only knew the north entrance.
By the end of the first week, 150,000 fliers had been printed and 50,000 of them
distributed locally. Adam s photograph was on the poster. The photograph chosen had

How might the role of the police officer in these situations be made easier? 99 101 205i In the class
text book police field operation, it clarifies that domestic violence is a pattern of abused behavior in
any relationship that is used by one partner to gain or maintain power and control over another inmate
partner (Birzr 99). More often in cases of domestic violence women are the victims of men. This
situation can occur to anyone at any age and anywhere. When officers of the peace answer a call they
never can assure that they will end up alive at the end. They can only assume the worst hope for the
best and to win. When officer respond to a domestic violence call officers have very little information
of the problem that is going on between the couple. Also mentioned in the booked is that traditional
police response for dealing with domestic violence was to talk to one of the parties into leaving for the
event (Birzr 100). Some problem that police officers can face when responding to a domestic violence
is having alcohol being involve with the people involved of the domestic call. Majority of the time the
once the individual have had many drink they are likely to become aggressive. The fact that the

After I had established rapport with Jill and ensured that we had a reciprocal relationship I was then
able to move on to the next phase. Stage B of the ABC Model of Crisis Intervention is mainly focused
around identifying the problem. This can be considered the most crucial aspect of the ABC Model for
providing therapeutic interaction. Identifying the precipitating event is important but exploring the
client s perceptions and cognitions are even more important. If I was to actually help Jill then I had to
find out her thoughts and feelings revolving around the situation.
I already know that Jill is scared of her husband and that he does stuff to her when she does not
respond the way he wants sexually. But now that I have gained Jill s trust and we have moved into the
B phase I can now get more specific. I decided to start out with some open ended questions so that I
was able to guide the conversation but also let her take over talking. After the opening question I
posed I was then able to tie all of my other questions to what Jill had just said. My reasoning for this is
because when a question is posed effectively essential information can be better gathered (Kanel,
2008).
In addition to posing my questions the best I could I also made sure to paraphrase throughout the
interview. Paraphrasing is very useful because it helps me clarify what my clients have said. It is smart

General Zaroff In The Most Dangerous Game By Richard Connell
In reality, some people stand out, some people do not. Whether or not they are noticed, everyone is
wrapped in many different layers of personalities. People have their own secrets and hobbies. Not all
of their personal activities are socially accepted and most people have their pastime in a secluded area.
General Zaroff from The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell is an excellent example. He is a
dynamic and complex antagonist that dabbles in more than an unusual game. Mr. Zaroff, the agile and
experienced hunter, is cunning, well educated yet inhumane and irrational. General Zaroff is brutal
and inhumane mainly due to his abnormal version of hunting. For him, it is less like hunting and more
like a tropical murder spree; Hunting? Great Guns, Zaroff, what you speak of is murder! (Page 6) as
claimed by Rainsford when Zaroff explained his game . So, General Zaroff kills humans for sport and
entertainment. He is willing to slaughter everyone with no discrimination and regardless of their race;

Gender, Ethnicity, And Class
The purpose of this paper is to assess two research based articles from a psychology journal from two
different time periods. The assessment was to compare the way gender, ethnicity, and class was
represented in each of the articles and how they differ from each time period. The articles were chosen
from the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology. The first article was from 1976 titled, Impact
of fear of success and sex role attitudes on women s competitive achievement (Peplau, 1976). The
second article of interest was titled, Psychological well being and job stress predict marital support
interactions: A naturalistic observational study of dual earner couples in their homes (Wang Repetti,
2014). The piece from 1976 was written by Letitia Anne Peplau and she wanted to compare results
from a previous experiment done by M.S. Horner in 1972 that measured the fear if success on women
s achievement to her own experiment on the same topic. Horner suggests that many women are in
conflict about intellectual and professional achievement (Peplau, 1976). Peplau wanted to compare
Horner s results to her own results when it concerned women s sex role attitudes of traditionalism and
liberalism. The goal was to see if there was a difference in the fear factor of success between the two
ideologies of dating women when they were on their own and when they were with their partners. She

array of everyday jobs have been increasingly developed and transformed with the support of
interconnected electro electronic devices .
Defence policy and military strategy go hand in hand and Defence policy have been directly linked to
current economic state of the present government and since UK economy was in recession in 2008

Although the thesis does not take this line of enquiry but concentrates on the partnership with the
police force, it is work noting that the relationship that exists in this partnership as recognised by the
new doctrine will reflect how the current regular force will view their role in future. The Armed forces
are required through the official secret Act to adhere to strict confidentiality, the survey was not
intended to divulge any state secrets but to reveal how cyber priorities and training has been received

(JDP 0 01) (5th Edition), dated November 2014 that draws on the lessons of history, upon original
thinking and from experiences gained from training and operations. It sets out the fundamental
principles of the future military force which is depleted from what it used to be. The new doctrine
takes into consideration of the following strategy; International Defence Engagement Strategy; New

the six weeks an estimated 300,000 soldiers (Controversial, as there are different numbers thrown

the Yuan dynasty and renaming it Yingtian and making it the dynastic capital in 1368. Emerging as the
political and cultural center of southeastern China at the time, it ultimately ended in a disaster and
stained Chinese history forever (Kuo, 2016). Nanjing at the time with about a population of
approximately a million was a prime target when Japan invaded china in 1937. That November,
Japanese troops made their way into the city, and the gruesome fighting and raping went on for weeks.

The Importance Of Professionalism In Pharmacy, At The...
Having professional etiquette is one of the most important factors that contribute to a successful
healthcare career. Professionalism within health care includes values to promote the good of every
patient in a compassionate, caring and respectful manner. In the article, At the Pharmacy, Chekhov
instructs pharmacists as to what they should not do in regards to lack of empathy, attention, and
interaction towards the patient, which ultimately leads to the deterioration of the patient s health. In
fact, the pharmacist should be concerned about the patient s worries, and create an environment where
care, trust, and effective communication is used to address the patient s concerns, as well as ensure the
efficient delivery of prescriptions. The pharmaceutical practice has gone beyond the role of medicine
dispensary and has acquired a significant role in the field of healthcare itself. Pharmacists are not only
experts in medicine but unique among other professionals because of their accessibility as healthcare
providers. They are more involved in educating patients on the proper use and consistency of
medications, solving different problems and seeking new challenges day to day. I enjoy helping people
and want to become an advocate for improving the quality of life of my future patients as a whole,
which leads me to continue pursuing a career as a Pharmacist. It is also worthwhile remembering

religion. The two have painted very similarly alters that are both of the crucifixions of Christ. They
both show how much pain and agony with the way they portrayed their Christ.
Mattias Grünewald a German artist born in 1475 in the city of Wurzburg, Germany. He was widely
known as the greatest German Renaissance artist no matter what century for his religious paintings

Differences Between Wolf Alice And The Company Of Wolf
Similarities and differences between Wolf Alice and The Company of Wolves by Angela Carter
Angela Carter was born on 7 May 1940 and died on 16 February 1992. She is known for her feminist,
magical realism, and picaresque works. Angela Carter story The Company of Wolves British Gothic
fantasy horror film was directed by Neil Jordan in 1984. Angela Carter s literary work is her interest in
changing gender roles and this is evident in both stories The Company of wolves tells the story of a
girl who is deceived and captured by the fake form of a handsome man who is actually the wolf in the
story. In The Company of Wolves and Wolf Alice , Angela Carter uses the supernatural practicality,
violent behaviour and sexually aroused, to present ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the company of wolves carter uses words such as knife to show braveness of the girl. When the girl
laughs looking at the wolf it too signifies that the girl won t be bullied or feel afraid of any beast.
Accept otherness, and give confidence the other to do so because everyone is intelligent to find
pleasure and live contently even though the views of society may enjoy. According to Carter feminism
does not mean a dominating sex, but equal opportunity between genders, as each is equal within
creation. Carter influences the reader the danger of women being deceived and captured by the false
form of men. This idea is totally differing in Wolf Alice it is women who are obtainable as beasts and
the only passion that complete them as human is that they were not actually wolves. Nothing about her
is human except that she is not a wolf (Biblioklept, 2013). Both the story has all the quality of Carter s
writing style which she uses a mixture of basics and sensible fiction to change the conventional
characteristic of the fairy tale style. Angela Carter meaning from the both story is same, that women
should transform the roles and develop into the aggressor instead of the target, she use different

The Impact Of National Football League And National...
Introduction In Baseball, statistics are in abundance. Unlike the National Football League and the
National Basketball Association, Major League Baseball(MLB) does not have a salary cap. This has
caused a lot of randomness in salaries. The salaries of teams also varies quite a bit as well. From the
data I have used, in 2015, the Los Angeles Dodgers salary was almost five times higher than the
Miami Marlins. What would cause such a disparity? Being a Baltimore Orioles fan and my father
being a New York Yankee fan, we would argue statistics and I usually would have a less than
substantial argument for my beloved Orioles. My father would say 25, implying the number of
pennants the Yankees had. Given this was about eight years ago, I had not taken a statistics class. I
did, without research, argue that the Baltimore Orioles do more with their salary. While thinking of a
regression earlier this semester, I wanted to run a regression of team wins on the city size. My theory
was larger cities meant higher salaries and in turn more wins because of the higher salaries. I ran the
regression and found the results to be very insignificant and had no basis of explaining the wins of a
team. A recent outcome in Baseball, blew my theory out of the water. The Kansas City Royals play in
the third smallest market according to metropolitan size.(1) The Royals are also 13th on a list of
highest salaries in the MLB.(3) The Royals won the 2015 World Series. There is a lot of randomness

Pompeii s Destructive Evening In Pompeii
A loud noise like a gun went off from the volcano exploding as people ran for their lives. This is
probably what one destructive morning in Pompeii looked like in 79 AD. Pompeii is important
because of its destruction, rediscovery, and because it provided information about the ancient world.
Mt. Vesuvius gave Pompeii a warning earthquake in 62 AD (Goor 8). In 79 AD, a loud bang warned
the city that Vesuvius was about to explode (Cartwright par.12). The explosion covered over 200
square miles, including not only Pompeii, but a couple other towns (List25). The eruption lasted about
a day, but the ash, rocks, and pumice blanketed the city for about two days. Pompeii was buried about
twenty feet deep (List25). After the eruption, some people tried to dig to their homes (Goor 13). The
eruption was one day after the festival of the Roman god of fire (List25).
Pompeii was founded in 7th century BC and was at the peak of it s existence. It was even popular for
rich Roman tourists to stay there (List25). Even Nero, a Roman emperor, had one of his summer
houses in Pompeii, and one of his wives was born there (Cartwright 3). After August 24, 79 AD,
Pompeii was forgotten. Soon, grass and flowers covered the city (Etienne 11). After a while, Pompeii
was called Civias or ancient city (Goor 13). Pompeii s name was ... Show more content on

Stonewall Jackson And The American Civil War
Let us cross over the river, and rest under the shade of the trees. 1 These were some of Stonewall
Jackson s Final words. Jackson was one of the most charismatic and influential Generals to have ever
participated in the American Civil War. It was his work ethic, morality, and immense military
expertise that gained him his infamous recognition and respect. Just a small overview of his life will
clearly explain how Stonewall Jackson earned his merit as being one of the most outstanding Civil
War generals that this country has ever seen.
Stonewall began his career as an Army officer as a second lieutenant serving in an artillery regiment
for the Mexican American War from 1846 1848. During this time, Stonewall earned two field [brevet]
promotions and a regular Army promotion to first lieutenant.2 It was also in Mexico that Stonewall
first met Robert E. Lee, future commander of the Confederate Army. During the war, Stonewall
displayed incredible strength of character by refusing to obey what he correctly identified as a bad
order. 2 In other events, he demonstrated his prowess in the strategic mind of the battlefield and
earned another field promotion to Major. After the war, Army Commander Winfield Scott recognized
Stonewall for earning more field promotions than any other officer throughout the Mexican American
War.3
In 1851, Stonewall was offered a teaching position at the newly opened Virginia Military Institute.
Stonewall accepted the offer, and taught Natural and

The Sin Of Intellect Vs. The Sin Of Passion
The Sin of Intellect vs. The Sin of Passion Nathaniel Hawthorne wrote, The Scarlet Letter, an
American novel that follows the events of a young woman, Hester Prynne, who is living in 1640 s
Boston, Massachusetts. Because she committed adultery she is punished by the puritanical town she
resides in by wearing a scarlet letter A on her chest forever. Throughout the novel, Hester s husband,
Roger Chillingworth, strives to discover the identity of the father who is the beloved minister, Arthur
Dimmesdale. Chillingworth s mission for discovery and revenge causes him to commit the sin of
intellect which affects the people surrounding him. Hester is constantly emotionally distressed from
Chillingworth s sin, but is rewarded from her sin of passion. The physical and mental state of
Dimmsdale is ruined by the sin of intelligence, but also partially by the sin of passion. Not
intentionally, Chillingworth s sin of intellect affects him the most by changing him morally,
physically, and mentally. The effects that the sin of intellect causes are far worse in contrast to the sin
of passion. Major changes in Hester s emotional state, Dimmesdale s severe health reduction, and
Chillingworth s drastic shift in character are reasons why the sin of intellect overpowers sin of passion
in the severity of the sin. To begin, Chillingworth s sin of passion is constantly emotionally stressing
for Hester, but the sin of passion leads to her ultimate happiness. The greatest result of the sin of

This is a field that I expect will be both challenging as well as professionally rewarding. As a

to get there. According to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of paralegals and legal
assistants is projected to grow 22 percent between 2006 and 2016, much faster than the average for all
occupations (National Association of Legal Assistants, 2008). Private law firms continue to be the
single largest employer of paralegals, good job opportunities also exist in several other markets in
both the private and public sectors. In addition to private law firms, other organizations in the private
sector employ paralegals (American Bar Association, 2011). Some examples include corporate legal
departments, insurance companies, estate and trust departments of large banks, hospitals and health
care organizations, real estate and title insurance companies, and professional trade associations.
Earnings vary considerably depending upon such factors as size of the community, geographical

Persuasive Essay On Robotics
Despite being stereotyped as nerdy by many, robotics is a rewarding extracurricular that can be
beneficial to anyone. Robotics is a program centralized around STEM, which stands for science,
technology, engineering, and math. Today, many schools will have a robotics program, most of which
are run by either VEX or FIRST. All of these programs are centralized around a team working together
to build a robot to the best of their ability to score as many points as possible. All the while,
participants also learn teamwork and technical skills that can be applied to the real world. I have been
a part of VEX Robotics Competition for three years, and prior to that participated in FIRST Lego
League for five years. Throughout this essay, I will mainly focus on VEX Robotics Competition, as
that is the program that I am currently a part of. STEM and robotics programs in schools must become
more available and receive more time and attention because they help train students for engineering
fields which are steadily growing, assist students in being accepted into colleges, and transform
lessons in school into practical, real world skills. To begin, engineering fields have shown consistent
growth, so it is important that students are prepared for pursuing these fields. Experience early on with
practical skills in a robotics club setting can give students an edge if they choose to go into
engineering. For this reason, it is important that robotics be available to as many students as

show, Hannah Montana was launched on Disney Channel with Miley Cyrus playing her first major
role as the show s protagonist, conveniently named Hannah Montana. The television show showcased
a 13 year old teenager s everyday misadventures as living a double life as Miley Stewart and Hannah

Cyrus will most likely be very happy in the future and also lead a meaningful life. Smith distinguishes
happy people as people that tend to think that life is easy, they are in good physical health, and they
are able to buy the things they need and want In Miley Cyrus case she is a millionaire that can afford
all the Molley and cannabis she wants, as well as mansions and luxurious cars. Smith also defines
finding meaning as people leading meaningful lives get a lot of joy from others To Ms. Cyrus even if
she lost her fame tomorrow, she will find a way to bring joy to others even without entertaining them.
For instance, she has found a foundation to donate to LGBTQ rights, education, women s rights, social

Social Control And Its Impact On America s Public Housing...
Promised a helping hand, security, and affordable living, residents of Chicago s public housing soon
found themselves in dilapidated, drug infested, crime filled, isolated centers of despair. During a time
in which most American citizens could easily turn their eyes from the struggles of the poor, Sudhir
Venkatesh s Gang Leader for a Day took readers into the depths of the world in which the poor
resided. Through Venkatesh s work, readers are inadvertently introduced to broader sociological
concepts such as, collective efficacy within communities, the concentration effect, recurring themes of
morality, and the underlying power of race, class, and gender as it related to the crime that took place
during Venkatesh s ethnographic like research. Collective efficacy is defined as social control exerted
by cohesive communities in which there exists a mutual trust and shared responsibilities including the
care of children (Siegel, 2011). When a neighborhood, or in this case a building complex, has high
collective efficacy it is believed to lower crime rates because the community members are essentially
setting the standards for the behavior for what will and what will not be accepted. However, in Gang
Leader for a Day, I have noticed a deviation. The people who lived in the Robert Taylor homes had
been there for years, take women such as Ms. Mae and Ms. Bailey for example. Neighbors knew
neighbors, children were taken care of by other neighbors, and there were respected and

  • 2. Global Security Challenges Facing The United States Military There will be significant global security challenges facing the United States Military by 2025. The U.S will face multiple, coinciding security issues from state actors and regional networks all taking full benefit of rapid science and technological changes. Three overlapping conflicts which has the greatest potential to influence state and non state actors and force the Armed Forces to restructure their formations are Wars of Silicon, Iron, and Shadow. The United States must design an innovative readiness and investment strategy to successfully deal with all three. These innovative concepts support Combatant Commanders so; they can win in full spectrum operations and defend U.S. interests at home and overseas. QDR 2014 provides the framework to counter these threats, which are, rebalance for full spectrum conflicts, prioritize U.S. posture to protect U.S. interest, and rebalance the capability, capacity, and readiness of the Joint Force. Joint Force 2025 will need to rebalance, be technologically superior, prioritize capabilities to deter hybrid adversaries, implement and mitigate stringent risk control measures; in addition, contend with the multifarious budgetary constraints. • 4. Examples of Jung’s Analytical Archetype Theory in the Film... Martin Scorsese directed the movie Shutter Island, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, that came out on February 19, 2010. The movie portrays many different examples of critical theory. Having watched the movie before my analysis, when I heard of Jung s Analytical Archetype theory I linked it with this movie almost immediately. Carl Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist, developed the idea that all archetypes are universal images that come from the collective unconscious and are almost instinctive to us all. Jung s critical theory examines the unique personal collective unconscious of the characters in the film. These can vary anywhere from forgotten memories to traumas, keeping all religious, spiritual, and mythological symbols and experiences intact. It is from this point of view that it becomes easier to explain all the similarities between stories. There are three factors when you look at archetypes, which are characters, situations, and symbols. Plot Overview Shutter Island is set in the 50 s and Edward Daniels, Teddy, is the protagonist we first encounter in the beginning of the movie. He s portrayed as a US Marshall who s sent to Shutter Island where there s a psychiatric facility, Ashecliffe Hospital to investigate the disappearance of a female patient with his new partner Chuck Aule. Teddy tells Chuck that he wanted to get this case because the man who killed his wife in a fire, Andrew Laeddis, was also on the island and went missing months ago. As they continue their ... The Power Of Women In Kate Chopin s A Respectable Woman The Power of Women Before women started fighting for their rights in the mid nineteenth century, women were powerless and unequal to men. Women have fought to have the rights that they have today, before the nineteenth century women had no rights. However, this changed when women decided to unify and fight for their rights. They were deprived of many things; for example, the right to suffrage, gender pay gap, and access to higher education but these are not all the battles that women wanted to fight. Women debated that all these rights were necessary in order to achieve equality to men. Susan B. Anthony was best known for fighting for fighting for voting rights, she had brought her copy of the Fourteenth Amendment of the Constitution, which guaranteed the right of citizens to vote. She had also brought a copy of the New York State Constitution (Pollack 9 10). However, she ended up being jailed three weeks after she voted, because men interpreted the fourteenth amendment as only male citizens could vote and women had no right to vote. Susan was ready to fight no matter how hard the fight would be she was ready to take it on. Women won the right to vote in 1868 when the fourteenth amendment was ratified; however, it was officially won with the nineteenth amendment. It states that the right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex (Ginsberg, et al, A27), this was proposed in 1919 and ratified in 1920. Women were not only deprived the right to vote they also had a wider pay gap and this was based gender, this is called the gender pay gap. The gender pay gap is the difference in pay between men and women. In Ain t I a Woman Truth emphasizes how women deserve to be treated the same as men. In 1869, many of these women are now performing the same grade of work at $900 per annum for which men receive $1800. Have any breaks in the pavement repaired quickly. Cracks, deep cuts and potholes can let water drain beneath the pavement and erode the foundation. Once the foundation has become eroded and unstable, the pavement loses its ability to flex under load and extensive cracking can occur. • 7. Temperance Reform In The 19th Century In the 19th century people did not like what the American society was turning into, so to control behaviors, and shape cultures the way they wanted. They created reforms to create a better environment. Reforms were made for temperance, abolitionist, antiprostitution, and other things that people thought they needed to change in the United States. They would do this by using popular things like songs, plays, novels, and narratives. Reformers wanted their information to develop to a large audience, so they could participate in their reforms. Although, not all the reforms were effective one that was very successful was the temperance reform. The 19th century was when people would drink large amounts of alcohol, especially men, which is why the temperance reform was put in place. On average, Americans drank about seven gallons of hard alcohol, including whiskey and other distilled spirits. • 9. U.s. Government During The Cold War Tensions during the Cold War sparked many changes in American legislation, altering the way many lived their lives. One of the most obvious areas of change is in education, with the fear of Soviet dominance causing transformations across the nation. The severe adjustment of government education changed the way students learned, the information taught in the classroom, and the overall view of education in the eyes of the public in a positive way. Government Changes: Summary: Changes instigated by the U.S. government during the Cold War had a profound effect on the educational landscape, as they altered how people viewed education, who had access to education, what they were taught, how they were taught, etc. Although many changes were done on the local and state level, the most considerable effects are seen after changes were made on the national scale, in legislations such as the National Defense Education Act of 1958, and in government bodies such as the Department of Education. G.I. Bills(1944 1984): The original G.I. Bill was signed into law in 1944, under the name Serviceman s Readjustment Act. After WWI, millions of veterans returned home, only to face massive unemployment and a recession. After WWII, twice as many veterans would return to similar issues if nothing was done. Not all of their personal activities are socially accepted and most people have their pastime in a secluded area. General Zaroff from The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell is an excellent example. He is a dynamic and complex antagonist that dabbles in more than an unusual game. Mr. Zaroff, the agile and experienced hunter, is cunning, well educated yet inhumane and irrational. General Zaroff is brutal and inhumane mainly due to his abnormal version of hunting. • 26. The Impact Of National Football League And National... Introduction In Baseball, statistics are in abundance. Unlike the National Football League and the National Basketball Association, Major League Baseball(MLB) does not have a salary cap. This has caused a lot of randomness in salaries. The salaries of teams also varies quite a bit as well. From the data I have used, in 2015, the Los Angeles Dodgers salary was almost five times higher than the Miami Marlins. What would cause such a disparity? Being a Baltimore Orioles fan and my father being a New York Yankee fan, we would argue statistics and I usually would have a less than substantial argument for my beloved Orioles. My father would say 25, implying the number of pennants the Yankees had. Given this was about eight years ago, I had not taken a statistics class. I did, without research, argue that the Baltimore Orioles do more with their salary. While thinking of a regression earlier this semester, I wanted to run a regression of team wins on the city size. My theory was larger cities meant higher salaries and in turn more wins because of the higher salaries. I ran the regression and found the results to be very insignificant and had no basis of explaining the wins of a team. A recent outcome in Baseball, blew my theory out of the water. Pompeii was founded in 7th century BC and was at the peak of it s existence. It was even popular for rich Roman tourists to stay there (List25). Not intentionally, Chillingworth s sin of intellect affects him the most by changing him morally, physically, and mentally. The effects that the sin of intellect causes are far worse in contrast to the sin of passion. Major changes in Hester s emotional state, Dimmesdale s severe health reduction, and Chillingworth s drastic shift in character are reasons why the sin of intellect overpowers sin of passion in the severity of the sin. Robotics is a program centralized around STEM, which stands for science, technology, engineering, and math. Today, many schools will have a robotics program, most of which are run by either VEX or FIRST. All of these programs are centralized around a team working together to build a robot to the best of their ability to score as many points as possible. All the while, participants also learn teamwork and technical skills that can be applied to the real world. Throughout this essay, I will mainly focus on VEX Robotics Competition, as that is the program that I am currently a part of. STEM and robotics programs in schools must become more available and receive more time and attention because they help train students for engineering fields which are steadily growing, assist students in being accepted into colleges, and transform lessons in school into practical, real world skills. To begin, engineering fields have shown consistent growth, so it is important that students are prepared for pursuing these fields. • 33. Social Control And Its Impact On America s Public Housing... Promised a helping hand, security, and affordable living, residents of Chicago s public housing soon found themselves in dilapidated, drug infested, crime filled, isolated centers of despair. During a time in which most American citizens could easily turn their eyes from the struggles of the poor, Sudhir Venkatesh s Gang Leader for a Day took readers into the depths of the world in which the poor resided. Through Venkatesh s work, readers are inadvertently introduced to broader sociological concepts such as, collective efficacy within communities, the concentration effect, recurring themes of morality, and the underlying power of race, class, and gender as it related to the crime that took place during Venkatesh s ethnographic like research. Collective efficacy is defined as social control exerted by cohesive communities in which there exists a mutual trust and shared responsibilities including the care of children (Siegel, 2011). When a neighborhood, or in this case a building complex, has high collective efficacy it is believed to lower crime rates because the community members are essentially setting the standards for the behavior for what will and what will not be accepted. However, in Gang Leader for a Day, I have noticed a deviation. The people who lived in the Robert Taylor homes had been there for years, take women such as Ms. Mae and Ms. Bailey for example.
