Lincoln And Johnson Approach To Reconstruction Essay
Chap 15 Susan Goodson How did Lincoln and Johnson each approach Reconstruction?
Lincoln and Johnson both supported the Ten Percent plan abolishing slavery. The Ten
Percent plan allowed each rebellious state to return to the Union as soon as 10 % of it s
voters had taken an oath and the state had approved the Thirteenth amendment. Johnson
lacked moral sense and political judgment. He was a war democrat who disagreed with
Republicans. Lincoln wanted to help the South rejoin the Union but the Union was his
primary concern and he wanted it done on his terms. Johnson angered many when he
spoke of being harsh on Southern planters but allied with ex confederate leaders, even
giving them pardons. They felt Confederates were rising back up into power... Show

They established schools, newspapers, and civic organizations because they were
considered strong priorities. The coalesced around independent churches separate from
the white dominated congregations. There was debate about desegregation because some
wanted their children in an all black school so it was a violence free environment but
they felt their children had the right to have better teachers at theses schools. Teachers
equal to if their children attended a with white children. What factors undermined
Republican control of the federal government during the 1870s? What were the
consequences of this development for Reconstruction? Republicans were deeply
committed to protecting the basic rights of the newly freed and there was a lot of racist
and inaccurate reports of black behavior under expensive Republican governments in the
South. There was scandal in Grant administration and the economic recession increased
the Northern disinterest and funding in Reconstruction. The Fifteenth Amendment to the
Constitution, ratified in 1870, and other course of events to threaten Republican control
of the national government leading to worry that national efforts to protect rights were
undermining the federal system. What was the political crisis of 1877, and what were its
consequences for
The Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act Of 2008 (...
1. Official Title of the Law
The Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008 (GINA) is an act of Congress
that give individuals federal protection against genetic discrimination concerning
insurance and employment; the federal law was enacted on the 21st of May 2008 (U.S.
Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, n.d.). GINA forbids group health
organizations including health plans and insurers from denying insurance to a person or
charging them a higher fee grounded on their genetic information that may indicate their
susceptibility to developing a certain disease in the future. The Genetic Information
Nondiscrimination Act of 2008 (GINA) equally prohibits employers from conducting job
allocations, hiring, firing as well as promotion decisions based on their individuals
genetic information. GINA includes revisions to the Employee Retirement Income
Security Act of 1974 and the Internal Revenue Code of 1986.
GINA comprises of two titles; title one bans genetic discrimination involving health
insurance, and title two makes it unlawful to discriminate against employees based on
their genetic information. This paper will out more emphasis on title one.
2. Health Care Organization s Obligations to meet Patients Legal Rights
A lot of people in the United Sates are unwilling to participate in studies or undertake any
genetic screening that may expose them to discrimination grounded on their genetics.

Project Management Plan For A Project Manager
Introduction: Scenario D was a challenging assignment to complete within the project
objective goals set by the executives. Even though I was able to complete the project
on time, I was unable to keep my budget on track and keep the morale of my team
between eighty five through ninety five percent. This week s lesson has taught me
how valuable a project manager is to the success of the organization s project. Not
only it is our responsibility to be a problem solver, it is the project manager s job to be
the collective voice of the stakeholders to outline the practicality of the project
demands. This week s readings helped me gain insight of what a project manager
needs to do and bring to the table when a project s demands will overall jeopardize the
success of the project. The overall theme of this paper outlines how important it is to
have transparent top down and bottom up communication. I also will express how vital
it is to create strategic alignment throughout the lifecycle of the project. Scope Risk:
The scope of the project is to deliver a competitive product the meets the management s
expectations. The target schedule of the project was to provide a multifunctional printer
to leapfrog the competitor s new product before it hit the market on week twelve. The
project goals, deliverables and requirements were very clear, however it seemed like
after the first week of the project, my team did not reach a consensus on the requirements.

The Issue Of Gun Control
During presidential debates numerous controversial issues are discussed. Some of the
controversial issues have been a topic of interest for ongoing years, furthermore; divide
the populous of the nation. Aside from the stand on abortion, a never ending debate that
can affect nearly every American is gun control. Both sides of gun control are equally
adamant. The pro side, represented by the NRA, National Rifle Association continues to
oppose gun policies primarily on the argument that restricting gun ownership is
unconstitutional. However, gun control advocates argue that that violence is an
epidemic across the country that is out of control. The second amendment to the
constitution states that Americans have the right to keep and bear arms without
government interference. The government tries to implement laws that will affect
everyone. Rightfully so, the focus and concern should preventing the juveniles and
criminals access to weapons. However, as history and time have shown us, criminals
do not obey the laws as it is, after all; this is why we do call them criminals.
Implementing laws on gun control will not affect criminals possession or access to
weapons. For example, multiple drugs such as cocaine and heroin are illegal, yet we
have plenty of addicts occupying our society. For criminals, if there is a will there is a
way. Criminal behavior cannot be controlled by the government. Criminals now, who
already possess handguns, have more

Mauritius Geography and Climate
Mauritius is an island of a volcanic origin and it has a central plateau which is about
400 metres above the sea level. The island s tropical climate which is warm and dry in
winter and hot and wet in summer would be acceptable for many people. The seasons
in Mauritius can be divided into hot, wet season which starts from December to April
and pleasantly cool, dry season from May to November. This makes Mauritius a year
round tourist destination. The average temperature in summer is 27В° C on the Coast
and 23В° C on the Central Plateau. Winter season on Mauritius Island has an average
temperature of 21В° C on the Coast to 17В° C on the Central Plateau. Although the
warmest month is known as February, the season can be
Donna Tartt s The Goldfinch
The story in the novel The Goldfinch, written by Donna Tartt, begins even before Tartt s
writing begins. Upon opening the novel, the first sentence present is a quote by Albert
Camus, stating, The absurd does not liberate, it binds . Even before beginning this novel,
the meaning of this quote shines through: the peculiar things that happen in life are what
bring people together, fate is not necessarily a punishment. This beginning quote
foreshadows the start of the story, as the protagonist quickly learns that his world did not
end just because his mother s did. At the beginning of the novel, the protagonist, Theo
Decker is introduced in his hotel room in Amsterdam, feeling lonesome and miserable.
Shortly after the introduction, the point... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, when talking about living with the Barbours, Theo describes one of the
children, Andy, as a luckless, anemic, pet shop mouse you might feed to your boa

humour to express his feelings about Andy. Before, when Theo and Boris were not
friends, Theo kept to himself and did not express any emotion; however around Boris,
Theo is finding a way to express his emotions, although in a sadistic and sarcastic
Existentialism as Exemplified in †the Seventh Seal’
Existentialism as Exemplified in The Seventh Seal
The Seventh Seal is a 1957 Swedish film written and directed by Ingmar Bergman. The
film offers interwoven storyline. It starts with a game of chess between a medieval
knight, Antonius Block, and Death in which if Block won, Death will prolong the knight
s life. This game goes on in intermittent times.
The knight is accompanied by his squire, Jöns, as they go back to the knight s castle to
be reunited with his wife. Throughout their journey, they come across various characters
and people in the village who are struggling amidst the impending death brought about by
the Black Plague.
Block and Jöns met Jof and Mia, the couple who work as actors. There they have

The existence of a Supreme Being is being summoned in situations where people are in
need of such assistance. Truly a remarkable film, The Seventh Seal effectively portrays
this question in sight of existentialism. God, neither the devil, was not present. There
was even a scene where Block asked the woman accused of having contact with the
devil to summon the devil so that Block will be able to ask about the about the existence
of God. Block was not able to see anything. As it turns out, the woman was falsely
accused by the priest.
Block came to a point where he asked the existence of God when he confesses to
Death, disguised as a priest but Death himself did not give answers to this. Even at the
end of the film, Death did not explain this to Block. Quoting Block, My life has been a
futile pursuit, a wandering, a great deal of talk without meaning. I feel no bitterness or
self reproach because the lives of most people are very much like this. In what pursuit
did he wasted his time into? Perhaps he was pertaining to his search for the existence of
God.
Aside from Block, a more existential character than him is introduced his squire, Jöns.
In Jöns conversation with the painter in the church, he mentioned that, This is squire
Jöns. He grins at Death, mocks the Lord, laughs at himself and leers at the girls. His
world is a Jöns world, believable only to himself, ridiculous to all including himself,
meaningless to Heaven and of no
The Poverty Cycle Of Homeless Children
education, despite income level, students have a higher chance of continuing and ending
their poverty cycle.
Homelessness
Poverty affects more than a child s education, it also impacts where that child might
sleep at night. During the 2009 2010 school year, 939,903 homeless children and youth
were enrolled in public schools, a 38% increase from the 2006 2007 school year ( Effects
of Poverty... 2). These numbers include grade K 12, so additional younger children
may not be accounted for. In 2010 more than 1.6 million children (1 in 45 children) in
America were homeless and that approximately 650,000 are below age 6 ( Effects of
Poverty... 2). Homeless children, whether that be bouncing from home to home or living
on the streets, may have a reduced quality of life.. According to Jeff Koistsky, the
executive director of Hamilton Family Center:
Homelessness has a devastating impact on children. No access to places for homework,
no places to feel safe, and they don t even have a pillow or bed to lie down on. They can
t even have a good night s rest. It overall has a terrible impact on their academic and
social development. (youtube video)
When children are in unstable environments, they begin to miss opportunities, such as
potential jobs or educational chances. This will delay a child developmentally, and often
lead the children to dropping out of school and becoming involved with the negative
aspects of life. Children may be exposed to or become enmeshed with violent and
How Did Geography Affect The Kingdom Of Ghana
How did geography affect society, culture, and trade of the kingdom of Ghana? The
Kingdom of Ghana had lots of trade and transportation through Africa, Asia, and the
Mediterranean region which they traded with Rome. They had plenty of gold and food
resources which helped the people throughout time. The empire had some few political
problems. Ghana is located in a different place than the modern country of Ghana in West
Africa. Ghana was located in the savanna region, and just south of it lay rain forests
where there was an abundance of gold found in streams and mine shafts. Ancient Ghana
was divided into ten regions, Western Ghana, Central Ghana, Greater Accra, Eastern
Ghana, Volta, Ashanti, Brong Ahafo, Northern Ghana, Upper West Ghana and Upper
East Ghana. The Empire of Ghana was located in Western Africa in what is today the
countries of Mauritania, Senegal, and Mali. The region lies just south of the Sahara
Desert and is mostly savanna grasslands. Major rivers in the region such as the Gambia
River, Senegal River, and the Niger River served as the means of transportation and
trade. Vegetation grew mainly in the south western part of the Kingdom, as there was
very little rain in the northern part. The climate of Ancient Ghana for most of the year
was dry and hot, however rainfall did occur in some parts during the year. Due to its
geographic location on the trans Saharan trade route, Ghana had a great advantage as
merchants had to pass through it to exchange goods
African American Male Self Esteem Essay
African American men s experiences of racism are believed to contribute to low self
esteem (Utsey, Ponterotto, Reynolds, Cancelli, 2000). Yet researchers have found
evidence that suggests African Americans explicit self esteem is equal to that of
members of non stigmatized groups (Crocker Major, 1989). In contrast to explicit self
esteem, implicit self esteem is a spontaneous, automatic, and unconscious evaluation of
one s own worth (Baccus, Baldwin, Packer, 2004). In addition, it is thought that social
behavior operates in an unconscious manner (Baccus et al., 2004). As a result, the
question of whether it is mainly implicit self esteem that influences social behavior has
been raised and researched (Bosson, Brown, Zeigler Hill, Swann, 2003). However, the
role of implicit self esteem as an influence of social behavior for African Americanmen is
lacking a significant amount of empirical research.... Show more content on

However, some of these coping strategies have been found to be maladaptive (Utsey et
al., 2000). Maladaptive behaviors are actions or tendencies that hinder an individual
from adjusting to situations (Weiss, 1999). Maladaptive behavior can range from minor
to severe behaviors that are tolerable and safe to behaviors that are disruptive,
dysfunctional and harmful to the individual (Weiss, 1999). Additionally, maladaptive
behaviors are formed as a way of coping with emotional and mental discomfort as well as
anxiety, but the actions typically result in a compounding of the problem. Examples of
maladaptive behavior include substance abuse, attention seeking behavior, perfectionism,
materialism, and sex addiction (Weiss, 1999; Rice Lopez,
Changes in Bangladesh
Changes in Bangladesh
Bangladesh came to today s shape through a long history of political evolution. Bengal
was probably the wealthiest part of the subcontinent up till the 16th century. The area s
early history featured a succession of Indian empires, internal squabbling, and a tussle
between Hinduism and Buddhism for dominance. All of this was just a prelude to the
unstoppable tide of Islam which washed over northern India at the end of the 12th
century. Mohammed Bakhtiar Khalzhi from Turkistan captured Bengal in 1199 with only
20 men. That was just the beginning. The journey of Bangladesh goes on.

Climate Change:
As one of the countries most seriously affected by climate change and natural disasters,
Bangladesh has been forced to be resourceful and resilient. Without outside help,
however, the country of 160 million will not have the capacity to address climate related
environmental changes as their severity and frequency increase. The United States
should augment its focus on adaptation measures when providing the South Asian nation
with aid.
The repercussions of global warming on Bangladesh are diverse and wide reaching. The
environmental changes that are occurring directly affect all aspects of society. Human
health, food security, industry and energy security, infrastructure, and economic
development are all threatened by climate change. According to the World Bank, 40
percent of foreign aid to Bangladesh is vulnerable to climate related factors. In a country
as densely populated as Bangladesh, even small scale shifts in ecological systems have a

Sweetheart of the Song of Tra Bong as Metaphor Essay
Sweetheart of the Song of Tra Bong as Metaphor
The Vietnam War is a strange and unexplainable event in American history. The
controversies surrounding the American involvement in Vietnam and the need for
Vietnam veterans to tell their stories of the war are prevalent in the post Vietnam culture
of America. The stories that will last forever are those that swirl back and forth across
the border between trivia and bedlam, the mad and the mundane (89). The story of the

Fine with me. But you don t know human nature. You don t know Nam (97). This is a
story about the development of human nature and accepting the changes of a rite of

Mary Anne adjusted to the life in Vietnam, as did the soldiers that were there, and as
time progressed she began to enjoy or get a thrill out of being in Vietnam. I mean
when we first got here all of us we were real young and innocent, full of romantic
bullshit, but we learned pretty damn quick. And so did Mary Anne, (97). The learning
curve in war is quickened by the fact that it is a matter of life or death when you are
working in a war, and it did not matter who you were the you quickly learned how to
operate in a battle field. Mary Anne did not fit in a first and did not know or
understand her role in the war, and just like the fresh soldiers coming from America
did know or understand their role in the war. As the soldiers, as well as Mary Anne,
begin to realize the realities of the war they move their focus away from their homes in
America and begin to focus on the work that needed to be accomplished in Vietnam. The
physical changes that occur to Mary Anne as she begins to be assimilated into the
Vietnam War are like night and day. She came as your typical American girl, but then
becomes a fighting soldier looking and anticipating ugly war
Examples Of The Hammurabi Code Of Laws
Hammurabi s Code Of Laws The Hammurabi Code of Laws is a set of rules enacted by
the Babylonian King whose name was Hammurabi. The Babylonian King created a
total of two hundred eighty two punishments that the citizens will receive if they do
not abide by the laws that were given to them. The king ruled from 1792 BC to 1750
BC. The Hammurabi Code of Laws is very violent in terms of punishments. For
example, one of the laws are If anyone breaks into a house to steal, he will be put to
death before that point of entry and be buried there (walled into the house) . This is a
clear example of how violent and inhumane the punishments of the Babylonians were,
to us at least. This essay will be explaining a set of laws from the Hammurabi s Code of
Laws. Laws that are related to crime usually end up with a very brutal, violent, and
inhumane punishment. An example of these laws that have a brutal, violent, and
inhumane consequent is law 22. If fire breaks out in a house, and someone who comes
to help put it out casts his eye about the property of the owner of the house and then
steals the property of the master of the house (looting), he shall be thrown in the that
self same fire . This law means that if a person comes to help extinguish the fire ends
up stealing from the burning home, then that same man who came with good
intentions of extinguishing the fire will be thrown into that same fire that he/she
came to help put out. As you can see, the consequence for looting a house that is on
fire is very violent. Another law that has a very brutal, violent, and inhumane
consequence is law 109. If a holy woman opens a tavern door or enters a tavern for a
drink, she shall be burned to death. In this law, it means that if a religious woman
drinks alcohol then she will be burned to death for it is seen as a taboo in their
religion. This law has a very violent, brutal, and inhumane punishment, as you can see.
In the Hammurabi Code of Laws, there are laws in which a body part of the suspect s
body is severed or decapitated from their body as a result of their wrongdoings. These
laws are usually related to the limbs used to commit the wrongdoings. For example, law

Agatha Christie Dysgraphia
Agatha Christie Dysgraphia It was quite true and I knew and accepted it. It did not
worry or distress me. I was always resigned to being the slow one (ResearchGate). This is
what Agatha Christie said one day when she realized she had a very serious disease,
now known as dysgraphia. Christie s dysgraphiacaused her many challenges in her
lifetime, but it never stopped her from being an amazing, bestselling novelist. In the
United States, anywhere from five to thirty three percent of elementary children deal with
some level of dysgraphia (Adam), a writingdisability. Other names for dysgraphia
include backwards writing, developmental output failure, and math disability (Siegel).
When a child has dysgraphia, there is a problem with the writing process; therefore,
the children have trouble writing (Richards 63). Some of the victims of dysgraphia
have trouble forming letters, while others can form letters but not very quickly
(Paquette 88). It was once said, As students struggle with the process, they become
preoccupied and can t let their ideas flow onto the page (89). Although there are many
devices to help with the disease, there are very few ways to overcome dysgraphia. One
of the tools one can use to help a child with dysgraphia is graphic organizers. Another
tool someone can use is special education services in the school. Most schools offer
very good special education services which can help children with many challenges,
including dysgraphia (91). Other tools commonly used may include a spell checker
(93), word prediction software, and text to speech tools (259). Many teachers also
suggest keeping a list of commonly misspelled words and having a note taker. Teachers
may also use oral tests instead of written tests to eliminate stress (93). One can also use
the checkbook programs companies provide (259).
Dysgraphia is caused by an issue between two main brain systems (Paquette 89). Some
of the symptoms of dysgraphia may include cramped fingers, inconsistent formations and
slants to letters, unfinished cursive writing, decreased speed of writing, and poor
organization on the page (Richards 63). There are five different kinds of dysgraphia. The
first is known as motor dysgraphia, and symptoms may
Research Paper On Truman Burbank
What is a perfect life? Is a perfect life a real one? How would one feel if they were told
their life was all a big lie? The questions at hand can be answered by one person in
particular. Truman Burbank, a witty individual who s life has been made into a 24
hour TV show. Nothing in life is perfect, not even life it s self. Although Truman
Burbank s life seems as if it is like the ideal life, the fact that it is not the way his life
should go differs from the ethics of life, No man s life should be filmed for the
entertainment of others, nor should his loved ones hold a lie for over 30 years. Life as
we see is should be determined by the ones who live it out. Never should another
individual control the destiny of one s life. Others can only influence another person life
but never should have full control. In the movie, The Truman Burbank show, Truman
Burbank s life is in the hands of Christof, the selfish and inconsiderate creator of the

Freedom can be defined in different definitions and words. The freedom that Truman

of another individual. For the sake of the success for the TV show The Truman
Burbank Show , Truman had no privacy what so ever. The fact that the show was
based on his entire existence violates the ethics of life. We all have certain things or
thoughts that we like to keep to our self simply because there are things certain people

David grew up in the Soundview section of the Bronx, which was a middle class
neighborhood with mostly Jewish and Italian families. At the age of 5 years old, not
only did he began to take showers with his father, but when they went to the beach

the age of 6 years old, David noticed the power men had over women, when a male

At the age of 7 and 8 years old, he experienced a series of head accidents. First, he was

To what extent did the exclusion of the United States affect the legitimacy of the League
of Nations?
Plan of investigation:
In the 1920s in France the League of Nations was created in order to end the first world
war and establish relations between several countries. However, big countries were
excluded such as Germany and the United States. Ві Due to the fact that the United
States was far more economically developed and adapted than other countries of that
time, there was a question about the ways in which the League of Nations would
succeed without it. The focus of this research paper is between 1920 and 1930. To
answer the question To what extent did the exclusion of the united states affect the
legitimacy of the league of nations , several websites will be used to give information
about the league of nations early years. Any statements or opinions in those websites
will be used to evaluate the legitimacy of the League of Nations. Historical Journals
and books will also be used as a higher level of scholarly sources. To avoid bias, books
written from authors of other countries will be analyzed to understand different
perspectives. Websites will be used to keep electronic information and printed
information on the same level.

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Different Methods Of,

Analyse the advantages and limitations of different methods of, and media for, making
presentations
A variety of communication media can be considered when planning to produce a
presentation, for example verbal communication and written communication, each type
of communication media has its advantages and limitations. When developing my
presentation I decided to use both verbal and written communication, although both
communication methods were used I had to ensure that they were used in the correct
quantities. To keep my presentation engaging I tried to use as much visual representation
as possible limiting the amount of text per slide. I chose to use PowerPoint because of its
combination of written and verbal communication (not to mention the cost effectiveness
of choosing PowerPoint and simplistic interface); the written aspects included the text on
the slides, screenshots and images. The screenshots proved particularly useful as they
was of the actual database used in the daily running of the Apprenticeships Store, once
paired with the demonstration of inputting data into the database it ensured greater
understanding due to more practical learning as opposed to theoretical learning. More
detail was provided in my handouts ensuring I didn t give too much information at once
and this allowed the audience to document any supplementary information I said during
the presentation, by speaking and interpreting what was on the slides ensured the
presentation remained fluid and
FDR Inaugural Address
FDR Inaugural Address Speech Analysis Essay
In arguably one of the most powerful of American political addresses ever given,
President Franklin Delano Roosevelt argues that, the only thing we have to fear is fear
itself , and that in order to restore America to its pre depression state, the American
people must believe that he can lead them through the Great Depression, so long as they
appoint him the wartime executive powers required to handle the situation effectively.
Roosevelt emphasizes the need for action through the use of biblical allusions and
referring to himself as the prophet is this time of need, taking the role of Jesus,
declaring, The money changers have fled from their high seats in the temple of our
civilization. We may now restore that temple to the ancient truths. ; he plays upon the
social needs as well as builds up his credibility with the audience by stating his plan to
combat the depression, broad Executive power to wage a war against the emergency,
as great as the power that would be given to me if we were in fact invaded by a foreign
foe. ; and cements his argument with his claims of value and policy, exposing the flaws
of pre depression American society, and eventually calling for the change he believes
necessary to force America out of the depression, we apply social values more noble than
mere monetary profit. . Franklin Delano Roosevelt goes to such lengths to earn the
support of his fellow Americans in order to unite the entire country in
Trumansburg Fair Assignment
The community service that I participated in for this assignment is helping out at the
Trumansburg Fairgrounds getting ready for the annual Fair. This process took place over
the course of weeks, but I pitched in the day before the fair on Monday 8/22/16 from
10:30 4:30. The week of the the fair was 8 23 to 8 28.
The Trumansburg Fair is a place of entertainment where the owners have amused people
with games, rides and prizes for 166 years.
I had to do a lot of things to do to prepare ourselves for this week of fun. When I first
got to the Fairgrounds at 10:30, they were expecting me. Some I recognized and some I
did not. But they put me straight to work.
First we got on a tractor to get to our destination. There was only one seat in the tractor
so they told me to sit on a piece of plywood nailed to the back of the tractor. It was
actually fairly comfortable. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When I showed up at the Fairgrounds on Monday, the place was almost a disaster, with
garbage and trash everywhere. While I was there a group and I were sent to pick up
all the trash and everything that wasn t supposed to be there and threw it away. After a
couple hours of that, we had finally cleaned the place up and could actually have
people walk around it and have fun. After my community service hours were over I
was suspecting that the Fairgrounds was going to look like a mess with all the people
there and no one was going to clean it up. When I came back to the Fairgrounds two
days later and it turned out that it was still sort of clean (I came during the middle of
the day around 3). It turned out that the entire group of people that I had worked with
that monday had all spent time before the fair everyday, to pick up the ground. I was
very happy to see that the Fairgrounds was very clean and that people were working
together to keep it
Man With Movie Camera And Moonlight
Thesis
Undeterred by severe contextual, creative, and regional differences, Man with Movie
Camera and Moonlight emphasize explicit similarities in the depiction of humanity s
unpredictable ambition through the usage of camera and sound.
In the earliest scene of Moonlight, an unnamed Miami man parks his car, while music is
playing.. As soon as he parks, the music stops, and we hear the sounds of the setting:
Dogs, barking, women arguing, men yelling, muffled music from houses. It immediately
establishes that the location is busy and potentially chaotic. The camera follows him from
behind towards two men greeting each other, while he maintains a brisk, determined
pace, as if he has a very specific intent once he approaches the men.The tension
Positive Effects Of Breast Feeding
Even though breast feeding has many positive effects, it also has negative effects.
First, is the diet restriction. A nursing mother can t eat whatever she wants, she will
has to watch everything she eats because it is all passed to the baby. Smoking also
must be avoided because it can interfere with her milk supply to the baby. Another
potential problem that a nursing mother could face is that when a baby develops an
allergy to a certain food she may have eaten, it is very difficult to pinpoint which food
is the reason behind the allergy. Second, is passing infections to the baby, it is possible
to pass on infections, like chickenpox or HIV to the baby through the milk. Third, breast
fed babies wake more often than babies that drink formula
Orville Vs Wright Brothers
Orville and Wilbur Wright are two icons that are recognisable to world of aviation for
their big contribution to the aviation industry. Orville and Wilbur are two American
brothers who both grown up to become inventors and aviation pioneers which their
invention eventually gave them the respect and fame of millions around the world
(Wikipedia, 2017). Both brothers were born at different states in the United States of
America where Orville was born in Dayton, Ohio on the 19th of August 1871 while
Wilbur was born in Millville, Indiana on the 16th of April 1867 (Wikipedia, 2017).
This clearly shows that Wilbur is older than Orville by four years. According to
National Park Service in Manteo, North Carolina, the date of 17th December 1903 is
identified as a remarkable day in aviation history as it was the day the very first
sustainable, self restraint, and powered heavier than air aircraft took its first official
flight located at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. Figure 1.1: Orville Wright on the Left and

According to the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC, the Wright
Brothers had the willingness to get familiar and increase their knowledge regarding
aeronautics in the year 1899 as they were aware that the study of aviation was something
that involved lots of research as any info about aviation was limited during that period of
time. In that period of time, the Wright Brothers had organised several experiments
which that concept was about the capability of man carrying
Perspectives on Love in Reality Parenting Shows
Many parenting programs have been made in recent years such as the Supernanny and
Brat Camp which were first aired in 2004 and 2005 respectively. Both were originated
from United Kingdom. So, this kind of show is no longer new to the viewers. All the
mentioned parenting shows earlier including the World s Strictest Parents mainly focuses
on the teenagers behavioral problems. (See openhousecommunity.com.au)
The World s Strictest Parents was interesting because it was truly an account of the
families life. The teenager s outright rebellion against their strict foster parents increases
the tension, excitement and drama of the show. Even so, the host families in the program
show a genuine concern towards the teenagers because they are ... Show more content on

This proves that tough love cannot change all the troubled teenagers in just a span of
seven days.
Third, authoritarian is the best method among the parenting styles to rear a child. Recall
that parenting style is the strategies of the parents use to bring up a child. According to
Diana Baumrind, clinical psychologist, there are four types of parenting styles namely:
authoritative, permissive, authoritarian and uninvolved. Moreover, these parenting styles,
according to studies, produce various outcomes to the children (See
psychology.about.com). Table 1, presents the characteristics of each parenting styles
while Table 2, shows the comparison of the positive and negative effects it created
towards the children.
On the other hand, parenting styles greatly varies across all nations in many important
ways because of factors that affecting it such as culture, religion, socioeconomic status,
education, personality and their own upbringing (See psychology.about.com). Among
these factors, culture plays the most vital role in parenting styles. For instance, Chinese
culture is greatly influenced by Confucian philosophy which emphasizes respect for
authority, devotion to parents, emotional restraint, and the importance of education.
Chinese parents are not necessarily driven to control their children; instead, they are
expected to teach their children how to maintain harmony with others. That is

  • 2. Lincoln And Johnson Approach To Reconstruction Essay Chap 15 Susan Goodson How did Lincoln and Johnson each approach Reconstruction? Lincoln and Johnson both supported the Ten Percent plan abolishing slavery. The Ten Percent plan allowed each rebellious state to return to the Union as soon as 10 % of it s voters had taken an oath and the state had approved the Thirteenth amendment. Johnson lacked moral sense and political judgment. He was a war democrat who disagreed with Republicans. Lincoln wanted to help the South rejoin the Union but the Union was his primary concern and he wanted it done on his terms. Johnson angered many when he spoke of being harsh on Southern planters but allied with ex confederate leaders, even giving them pardons. They felt Confederates were rising back up into power... What were the consequences of this development for Reconstruction? Republicans were deeply committed to protecting the basic rights of the newly freed and there was a lot of racist and inaccurate reports of black behavior under expensive Republican governments in the South. There was scandal in Grant administration and the economic recession increased the Northern disinterest and funding in Reconstruction. The Fifteenth Amendment to the Constitution, ratified in 1870, and other course of events to threaten Republican control of the national government leading to worry that national efforts to protect rights were undermining the federal system. • 4. Project Management Plan For A Project Manager Introduction: Scenario D was a challenging assignment to complete within the project objective goals set by the executives. Even though I was able to complete the project on time, I was unable to keep my budget on track and keep the morale of my team between eighty five through ninety five percent. This week s lesson has taught me how valuable a project manager is to the success of the organization s project. Not only it is our responsibility to be a problem solver, it is the project manager s job to be the collective voice of the stakeholders to outline the practicality of the project demands. This week s readings helped me gain insight of what a project manager needs to do and bring to the table when a project s demands will overall jeopardize the success of the project. The overall theme of this paper outlines how important it is to have transparent top down and bottom up communication. I also will express how vital it is to create strategic alignment throughout the lifecycle of the project. Scope Risk: The scope of the project is to deliver a competitive product the meets the management s expectations. The target schedule of the project was to provide a multifunctional printer to leapfrog the competitor s new product before it hit the market on week twelve. The project goals, deliverables and requirements were very clear, however it seemed like after the first week of the project, my team did not reach a consensus on the requirements. Heldman expresses, a team not
  • 5. The Issue Of Gun Control During presidential debates numerous controversial issues are discussed. Some of the controversial issues have been a topic of interest for ongoing years, furthermore; divide the populous of the nation. Aside from the stand on abortion, a never ending debate that can affect nearly every American is gun control. Both sides of gun control are equally adamant. The pro side, represented by the NRA, National Rifle Association continues to oppose gun policies primarily on the argument that restricting gun ownership is unconstitutional. However, gun control advocates argue that that violence is an epidemic across the country that is out of control. The second amendment to the constitution states that Americans have the right to keep and bear arms without government interference. The government tries to implement laws that will affect everyone. Rightfully so, the focus and concern should preventing the juveniles and criminals access to weapons. However, as history and time have shown us, criminals do not obey the laws as it is, after all; this is why we do call them criminals. Implementing laws on gun control will not affect criminals possession or access to weapons. For example, multiple drugs such as cocaine and heroin are illegal, yet we have plenty of addicts occupying our society. For criminals, if there is a will there is a way. The existence of a Supreme Being is being summoned in situations where people are in need of such assistance. Truly a remarkable film, The Seventh Seal effectively portrays this question in sight of existentialism. God, neither the devil, was not present. There was even a scene where Block asked the woman accused of having contact with the devil to summon the devil so that Block will be able to ask about the about the existence of God. Block was not able to see anything. As it turns out, the woman was falsely accused by the priest. Block came to a point where he asked the existence of God when he confesses to Death, disguised as a priest but Death himself did not give answers to this. Even at the end of the film, Death did not explain this to Block. Quoting Block, My life has been a futile pursuit, a wandering, a great deal of talk without meaning. I feel no bitterness or self reproach because the lives of most people are very much like this. In what pursuit did he wasted his time into? Perhaps he was pertaining to his search for the existence of God. Aside from Block, a more existential character than him is introduced his squire, JГ¶ns. In JГ¶ns conversation with the painter in the church, he mentioned that, This is squire JГ¶ns. He grins at Death, mocks the Lord, laughs at himself and leers at the girls. The Kingdom of Ghana had lots of trade and transportation through Africa, Asia, and the Mediterranean region which they traded with Rome. They had plenty of gold and food resources which helped the people throughout time. The empire had some few political problems. Ghana is located in a different place than the modern country of Ghana in West Africa. Ghana was located in the savanna region, and just south of it lay rain forests where there was an abundance of gold found in streams and mine shafts. Ancient Ghana was divided into ten regions, Western Ghana, Central Ghana, Greater Accra, Eastern Ghana, Volta, Ashanti, Brong Ahafo, Northern Ghana, Upper West Ghana and Upper East Ghana. The Empire of Ghana was located in Western Africa in what is today the countries of Mauritania, Senegal, and Mali. The region lies just south of the Sahara Desert and is mostly savanna grasslands. Major rivers in the region such as the Gambia River, Senegal River, and the Niger River served as the means of transportation and trade. Yet researchers have found evidence that suggests African Americans explicit self esteem is equal to that of members of non stigmatized groups (Crocker Major, 1989). In contrast to explicit self esteem, implicit self esteem is a spontaneous, automatic, and unconscious evaluation of one s own worth (Baccus, Baldwin, Packer, 2004). In addition, it is thought that social behavior operates in an unconscious manner (Baccus et al., 2004). As a result, the question of whether it is mainly implicit self esteem that influences social behavior has been raised and researched (Bosson, Brown, Zeigler Hill, Swann, 2003). • 14. Examples Of The Hammurabi Code Of Laws Hammurabi s Code Of Laws The Hammurabi Code of Laws is a set of rules enacted by the Babylonian King whose name was Hammurabi. The Babylonian King created a total of two hundred eighty two punishments that the citizens will receive if they do not abide by the laws that were given to them. The king ruled from 1792 BC to 1750 BC. The Hammurabi Code of Laws is very violent in terms of punishments. For example, one of the laws are If anyone breaks into a house to steal, he will be put to death before that point of entry and be buried there (walled into the house) . This is a clear example of how violent and inhumane the punishments of the Babylonians were, to us at least. This essay will be explaining a set of laws from the Hammurabi s Code of Laws. Laws that are related to crime usually end up with a very brutal, violent, and inhumane punishment. An example of these laws that have a brutal, violent, and inhumane consequent is law 22. If fire breaks out in a house, and someone who comes to help put it out casts his eye about the property of the owner of the house and then steals the property of the master of the house (looting), he shall be thrown in the that self same fire . This law means that if a person comes to help extinguish the fire ends up stealing from the burning home, then that same man who came with good intentions of extinguishing the fire will be thrown into that same fire that he/she came to help put out. As you can see, the consequence for looting a house that is on fire is very violent. Another law that has a very brutal, violent, and inhumane consequence is law 109. If a holy woman opens a tavern door or enters a tavern for a drink, she shall be burned to death. In this law, it means that if a religious woman drinks alcohol then she will be burned to death for it is seen as a taboo in their religion. This law has a very violent, brutal, and inhumane punishment, as you can see. In the Hammurabi Code of Laws, there are laws in which a body part of the suspect s body is severed or decapitated from their body as a result of their wrongdoings. These laws are usually related to the limbs used to commit the wrongdoings. For example, law 195 If a son strikes his father, his hands shall be

I was always resigned to being the slow one (ResearchGate). This is what Agatha Christie said one day when she realized she had a very serious disease, now known as dysgraphia. Christie s dysgraphiacaused her many challenges in her lifetime, but it never stopped her from being an amazing, bestselling novelist. In the United States, anywhere from five to thirty three percent of elementary children deal with some level of dysgraphia (Adam), a writingdisability. Other names for dysgraphia include backwards writing, developmental output failure, and math disability (Siegel). When a child has dysgraphia, there is a problem with the writing process; therefore, the children have trouble writing (Richards 63). Some of the victims of dysgraphia have trouble forming letters, while others can form letters but not very quickly (Paquette 88). It was once said, As students struggle with the process, they become preoccupied and can t let their ideas flow onto the page (89). Although there are many devices to help with the disease, there are very few ways to overcome dysgraphia. One of the tools one can use to help a child with dysgraphia is graphic organizers. Another tool someone can use is special education services in the school. Most schools offer very good special education services which can help children with many challenges, including dysgraphia (91). Other tools commonly used may include a spell checker (93), word prediction software, and text to speech tools (259). Many teachers also suggest keeping a list of commonly misspelled words and having a note taker. Teachers may also use oral tests instead of written tests to eliminate stress (93). One can also use the checkbook programs companies provide (259). Dysgraphia is caused by an issue between two main brain systems (Paquette 89). Some of the symptoms of dysgraphia may include cramped fingers, inconsistent formations and slants to letters, unfinished cursive writing, decreased speed of writing, and poor organization on the page (Richards 63). There are five different kinds of dysgraphia. The first is known as motor dysgraphia, and symptoms may
