Felicite, as explained at the very beginning of the story, was known for her cleanliness, making
people all around them envy Madame Aubaine for her choice of servant. Though Madame
Aubaine s story is interesting in itself, the story of Felicite is not only one of importance to the
story but also to our understanding of these times in general. Her father and mother were both
killed when she was very young, and when her siblings split up without her she was left alone to
find work. Most places where she found it were hostile to a young woman of eighteen, leaving her

Choice of language is one of the many ways one character can be distinguished from another. If
all the novel s characters speak in the same manner, there won t be many ways to tell them apart.
The way a person speaks can give insight on their personality, upbringing and, even something as
simple as age. Shelley s characters all seem to speak with the same manner of speech. They all
sound like they are from upper class families. It s hard to distinguish one from the other without

Significance of the Treaty of Versailles
World War I was a devastating war that had a long lasting effect on every European country. After
the assassination of Franz Ferdinand, the heir to the Austrian throne, and his wife by the hands of a
Serbian terrorist group known as the Black Hand. Germany urged Austria Hungary to attack Serbia,
but Russia stepped up to protect the country. Germany ambushed Belgium, and proceeded to
Russia, throwing Great Britain into the war due to their alliance with Belgium. As a result, the
continent of Europe, including Great Britain, Italy, Russia, Austria Hungary, and France, was
plunged into a great World War. The war lasted from 1914 to 1918, and it left Germany singled
out as the catalyst. In November 1918, Germany finally agreed to an Armistice, a halt in the
fighting, but they did not consider themselves to be surrendering. At the time, the Germans
believed that they would play a role in constructing the treaty that would end the war, but when the
time came, they were not allowed to participate. Germany was greatly angered by this, but there
was nothing that they could do for their army had been disarmed. They had two choices: sign the

Round About Ogden Nash s poem, Round About, expresses a clear theme of time. Humans value
every year, month, week, day, hour, minute, and second of time. Although humans existence is just
a spec in time, time is everlasting. It goes on forever. In that huge amount of time, humans only
exist in the smallest portion of it. Specifically, Ogden Nashuses plenty of repetition throughout the
poem. For example, round about (Nash 7), around (11), and again (20). Ogden Nash includes this
repetition to convey that time repeats itself. Never ending time keeps occurring. Each and every
day is just like the day before. Each morning one wakes up, once again. By repeating words that
have to do with the repetition of time, it gets in the readerВґs head that time repeats itself. Nash
