The Importance Of Curses In Moby Dick
The belief in curses are not something uncommon shared by sailors and other seafaring
people. For instance, the Albatross is a negative sign, and particularly the death of
one can be seen as a curse. Bad luck comes in troves on the open ocean, and the most
famous bout of bad luck belongs to Captain Ahab. Ahab s obsession with the
destruction of the white whale in Herman Melville s Moby Dick is one of many key
elements of the book, and certainly is what the book is most well known for.
However, many dismiss Ahab s rage at the creature as the ravings and delusions of a
mad man seeking revenge. Ahab s reasons are, in fact, far more complicated. Moby
Dick represents Ahab s loss of control over his actions. The moment that he lost his leg
to the whale, Ahab lost control over his own actions: Then, in darting at the monster,
knife in hand, he had but given loose to a sudden, passionate, corporal animosity
(Melville, 156). Ahab s obsession with destroying Moby Dick only grew with time,
and on several occasions Ahab would put his crew in danger even for a single piece of
news on his whereabouts, let alone when they attempt to kill the animal, loudly
declaring that he ...fear[s] not thy epidemic... (Melville, 252). And yet, there is more to
this obsession than mere revenge. Everyone who comes into contact with the white
whale seems to lose a part of themselves. Moby Dick places a curse on each of those
who come into contact with him. If the cursed, however, do not give up on their
Critical Analysis Of My Antonia By Willa Cather
From the birth of the United States, freedom has been the goal. Freedom inspired a
large amount of people to come to American to start a new life. With an influx of
people and the desire for personal space, America expanded under the jurisdiction of
Manifest Destiny. American s of that time began to move west of the Mississippi river
into untamed, and isolated areas. There are many accounts of these migrations and
stories of the untamed wilderness, but one of the classics is My Antonia by Willa Cather.
Cather, an American migrant to the west herself, relates many of the experiences in her
novel to the stories of her childhood. In a critical analysis of the work of Willa Cather

It has been no wonder why suicide was at it s highest peak during the peak of pioneer
expansion. Pioneers were trapped in a place they hardly knew, performing tasks they
never had before, and trying to survive without social interaction. Some of the people
who had it worst at that time were the immigrants because they could not speak
English or comprehend some of the differences between America and their homeland.
Living on the prairie was a constant struggle with not only the physical aspects, but
also the mind. People like Mr. Shimerda in My Antonia were prime examples of the
suicide caused by the unhappiness with the choices they had made to move to the
new land. In book one of My Antonia Mr. Shimerda was described as a jovial man who
always played his fiddle for all to hear and who loved to sing, dance, and converse. As
the first few chapters wear on, Mr. Shimerda s personality begun to fade. He was
grouchy and blunt when he used to be happy. He was not happy with himself, which
drove him to suicide. This action was inspired by one of Willa Cather s friends in
Nebraska named Annie who emigrated to the U.S. from Poland. In a critical analysis
of My Antonia by Willa Cather, John J. Murphy takes a look into her inspirations. His
article titled Raw Materials was published in Boston, Massachusetts in 1989 by
Twayne Publishing Co. About My Antonia, he said, Annie obviously admired him,
was often his companion, and describes him as a man in a million who never swore or
used dirty words like other men nor ever drank or play cards he was a clean man in
everyway. Then on 15 February 1881 he took his shotgun and said he was going rabbit
hunting but failed to return by late afternoon. They found him shot in the head and half
sitting behind the board bed in the shack. The body was cold, nearly frozen; the sheriff

Dizzee Rascal Analysis Of Grime
Politics: Estates / Urban Planning: Human societies occupy various regions of the
earth, information and encounters are traded within all of these societies, but humans
do much more than trade information; the space they are located in becomes part of a
wider spatial order in which the people within that space are located into their own
spatial form. Grime culture arose from council estates within London and people
within council estates will be located with a greater degree of separation, dense within
their own grouping but sparsely connected to the rest of the world.(reference 27 social

estates have become something of a class symbol, a psycho socio bruise given by... Show

It is from this thought process in which Dizzee Rascal aptly named his first album, Boy
In Da Corner; eloquently incubating the feeling of claustrophobia simply within the title.
Literature has already been published laying the foundations on the fact that Grime is a
purely ethnographical form, this has always been the case since its emergence in the
early 00 s and the aforementioned Boy In Da Corner release depict[ing] a bleak world,

their advantage, constantly writing lyrics about events which happened only within this
dystopian architectural landscape, dystopian being the keyword within that previous

Oppression By Marilyn Frye Summary
In Oppression by Marilyn Frye, Frye discussed how a bird cage symbolizes the
systematic oppression of women. Frye explains that if you look at a single wire in a
bird cage you cannot understand why the bird, is unable to simply fly around the wire
and be free. But, when you step back and look at the cage as a whole system of
interlocking wires you realize that the bird has no chance of escaping because of all
the barriers put in their way (Frye). This is exactly the same case for women. When
somebody tries to see the oppression of women. they look only at one problem women
face, refusing to step back and see there is no one cause for their oppression. If instead
they looked at all the barriers women face at once, they would finally see that women
have no way of escaping oppression without continuous efforts of every person involved
in the oppression, including the woman being oppressed and the sexist men doing the
oppressing.
Sexual assault is a major factor in the oppression of women. Take Hollywood, for
example. Harvey Weinstein has only recently come under fire for his repeatedly
assaulting women throughout his years working as a film producer. Weinstein would
lure women into his hotel room or office under the guise of discussing movies and then
attempt to assault them. To prevent women from exposing him, he threatened to blacklist
anyone if they ever said anything. His victims included Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina
Jolie, whom Weinstein assaulted when they were young
Food Technology And Its Impacts On Food And Technology
Food and Technology
Organisms that new genes have been added to from other organisms are genetically
modified. These foods are produced are similar to genetic engineering. Some believe that
this technique used for crop management was introduced to merchants and farmers to
ensure that they are able to improve the quality of crops or the food quality in a much
more efficient way. Some claim that this technology helps the agricultural industry to
decrease the amounts of crops and foods that are wasted. Through the processing of food,
some consumers are concern with technologies and the cost of preserving food.
Preserving the Food Supply
Pereira and Vicente stated that, food preservation whilst ensuring its safety and quality
has been a prime goal of food processors (Pereira Vicente, 2010). The process that
happens in between harvesting of crops and consumption is called postharvest. As a
result, of spoilage of raw agricultural commodities and storage and transportation of the
products before the products can be stabilized for storage that is long term is also a
process in postharvest. Losses can occur during postharvest due to insects, microbial
spoilage and rodents. This ends up resulting in a waste of seeds, fertilizer, labor, water,
and a significant loss in money.
Logistics and processing are vital parts to achieving food distribution efficiency. The
portion of the food supply of America that has been processed before it reaches the
grocery store has grown
Essay On Cyberpunk
While science fiction was once primarily about science, it has since evolved into a far
reaching field that encompasses a variety of subgenres. в¦Ѓcyberpunk: The cyberpunk
genre emerged in the early 1980s; combining cybernetics and punk, the term was coined
by author Bruce Bethke for his 1980 short story Cyberpunk. The time frame is usually
near future and the settings are often dystopian in nature and characterized by misery.
Common themes in cyberpunk include advances in information technology and
especially the Internet, visually abstracted as cyberspace and artificial intelligence.
в¦ЃTime travel: Time travel stories have antecedents in the 18th and 19th centuries. Time
travel continues to be a popular subject in modern science fiction, in print, movies, and
television episodes of Stargate SG1 and the BBC television series Doctor Who.
в¦ЃAlternative history : Alternative history stories are based on the premise that
historical events might have turned out differently. These stories may use time travel to
change the past, or may simply set a story in a universe with a different history from our
own. в¦ЃMilitary SF: Military science fiction is set in the context of conflict between

Facial Stereotypes
There are mathematical equations, such as the golden ratio, which can be used to
supposedly create the ideal human body. This proportion was used by Da Vinci to
draw the perfect male body. An individual is said to have a beautiful face when it has a
ratio of 1.6180339, or approximately 1.62. Facial symmetry can be measured by
dividing the length of a face by the width of the widest part of the face; the closer
quotient is 1.62 the more beautiful a face is according to the golden ratio. The golden
ratio can also be used on various other parts of the body including; arm length, and
height. Facial characteristics also play a role in determining an individual s
attractiveness. The color smoothness of an individuals skinhas an impact on their... Show

Throughout history males have sought after muscularity, leanness, and youthfulness.
During the 1900 s, the ideal body type for a male was thin and athletic. These
characteristics have become much more dramatic over the last few decades. The hyper
masculine images portrayed by celebrities such as, Dwayne Johnson (The Rock), Mark

characteristics such as, height, masculinity, and assertiveness are also characteristics of

Zeitoun Summary
Dave Eggers Zeitoun is a story about a Muslim family in New Orleans before, during, and
after Hurricane Katrina. It follows mainly Abdulrahman, whom people call Zeitoun, and
Kathy Zeitoun, his wife. Eggers follows this family though the dangerous storm and
shows the aftermath of what happened physically and mentally. The story is built
through personal accounts and the bias that is built through these stories. Eggers controls
the narrative and what readers should feel and sets the reader up for a story controlled by
him, the author. The beginning of the book introduces the protagonists. A personal
attachment is instantly felt by the readers. Zeitouns background is introduced through a
flashback of his childhood, but soon after, Eggers talks about their contracting business
and home life. He writes, Kathy and Zeitoun... ran a company, Zeitoun A. Painting

He talks about how Zeitoun is helping others nonstop. Zeitoun is helping friends,
strangers, even dogs during this time of need all with his canoe and the stock of food
in his fridge. He even says himself that it s God s will that he is in New Orleans
helping out after the storm. All these details about how helpful and selfless Zeitoun is
making sure the reader knows these positive things about him. Eggers way of writing is
very deliberate in controlling the narrative. He strictly focuses on things Zeitoun is
doing, how his family is feeling, and the devastation Zeitoun is seeing. Since the story
is so personal, the readers can feel a connection with him. The audience is able to put
themselves in his shoes and experience what he is experiencing. The stress of the
situation combined with the purpose that Zeitoun is feeling by helping people creates a
unique situation for Eggers s to write about. He could have written just about Zeitoun
canoeing around, but he made sure to make the story as personal as
Singapore Management University Goldman Sachs in Libya
Singapore Management University Goldman Sachs in Libya
Goldman Sachs in Libya With a founding history of 145 years, Goldman Sachs, the
investment banking, securities and investment management firm can lay claim to being
one of the most profitable among the Wall Street firms better than its competitors while
managing to retain its reputation all along as one with impeccable credentials. As stated
on their company website, Goldman Sachs prides itself on having pioneered many of the
practises and techniques that have become the norm in the investment banking circles.
The firm also incorporates a business model which consists of hiring the best talent and
inculcating in them a corporate culture where partnership culture is valued above all else,
and honouring its founding principles, the first of which, quoting Goldman is Our client

After the financial crisis of 2008, however, there is another way of viewing Goldman

that has evolved into something more blatantly self serving. According to author
William Cohen, in his book Money and Power, he has stated that Its primary source of
profit has shifted from banking to trading, and the firm is intentionally quite vague about
how, and precisely where, those trades are made or, equally relevant, from whom the
profits are coming. It is a Wall Street titan whose clever bet against the mortgage market

An Analysis Of Edgar Allan Poe s Literary Works
The literary works, Annabel Lee , The Raven , The Cask of Amontillado , Tell Tale
Heart , and The Fall of the House of Usher , all describe the pessimistic characteristic
and writing style of author, Edgar Allan Poe. Poe s literary works were influenced by
his rough upbringing, exposing him to bleak situations. He was an orphan but still went
through a brutal experience after his uncle took him in. As a result, when Poe grew up,
most of his writings reflect on his experiences as a child and young adult. Poe uses
layered irony and complex syntax to enhance his works as well as catching the reader s
attention with his unusual, gothic writing style, which no other author explored at that
time. To begin with, Poe uses the complex syntax to... Show more content on

One particular short story that he wrote, The Cask of Amontillado, included many
examples of layered irony that represented his writing style. And the motto? Nemo me
impune lacessit.; Good! he said, (SB 120). In the story, Montresor, a character who
wants to murder Fortunato, was asked about his family motto, which means No one
attacks me with impunity . It is ironic how Fortunato, the person who will be
murdered, asks about the family motto of Montresor, foreshadowing the near future
and end of his life. Poe uses irony to deepen the readers understanding of his writing
style and to hint at the future. Furthermore, irony is applied by Poe in Tell Tale Heart
to intensify the tension amongst the characters. I made up my mind to take the life of
the old man... the old man sprang up in bed, crying out Who s there? (Tell Tale Heart).
The use of dramatic irony gives the reader the knowledge that the main character is
going to murder the old man, however, the old man does not. The dramatic irony
heightens the sense of fear and desire to know what is about to happen next, catching
the attention of readers. Writing about murder attracts a new wave of readers to Poe
since no other author at that time wrote about murder, or anything closely related. Irony
that is used in Poe s writing is dismal and can be interpreted into ways that is
My Favorite Trip At The Royal Palace Of Henry Viii
What a great weekend, I do not know which was my favorite event. One minute I was
at the Royal Palace of Henry VIII and another minute I was in Stonehenge. No matter
what happen, I will remember this weekend for the rest of my life. Thursday, we all
woke up really early to travel to the Royal Palace of Henry VIII. Our tour guide
Heather, gave us the entire tour of the place. My favorite part of the tour was the clock
due to the fact it was a 24 hour clock telling which day, month, and season it is. After
the tour, we had two hours of free time and most of us wanted to see Henry VIII toilet
and all I can say is that toilets during that time was different than the ones now. When
we all saw the toilet, all the frat boys decided to go to the maze and we all race find the
exit, which took us three times longer since we passed by it three time. At the end, we
all admit that Ryan Straub Fisher beat all of us. Following a morning run, I decidedto
chow down on my first Fish Chips which the fish was so tender and the batter was
cooked spot on. After lunch, we were taken on a long busjourney to Holbrook house
where we are all going to stay for two nights. Tour guide Heather gave us an etiquette
dinner lesson, so they next time I dine with British people, I know what to expect.
During dinner we decided to dress up nicely and that dinner was a fabulous start to my
weekend. After a wonderful selection of Canapes and an Amuse Bouche, Our appetizer

He and A Jazz-Age Clerk
In He by Katherine Anne Porter and A Jazz Age Clerk by James Thomas Farrell, two
characters who struggle with the aspects of poverty express the significance of how
people view them in their lives; their primary concern is what people say and think of
them. Both characters, Mrs. Whipple and Jack, seem ashamed of their current lives and
continually attempt to impress others. Mrs. Whipple constantly informs Mr. Whippleof
the thoughts or ideas that people might have towards their simple minded son, whereas
Jack characterizes a materialistic and superficial person whose main goal is to impress
others. Furthermore, both characters are extremely proud and overly self conscious. In

Mrs. Whipple clearly becomes uptight about what her own family has to say or think
about Him, to the point where she wishes she were dead: But they can t say He wasn t

Thus, it is evident that Mrs. Whipple feels stressed and under a lot of pressure with His
situation. After all, it is Mrs. Whipple s goal to make sure that people understand that
her family, including Him, is nothing more than an ordinary family. Sadly, Mrs.
Whipple s excessive concern about what others think or say, her self consciousness,
does not allow her to focus on what really is important: her family, but more
specifically, Him. She finally realized that the way she treated her son was wrong;
towards the end, she at last opens her eyes and sees the world from His perspective, the
cruel, uncaring, and lonely perspective:
Whatever it was, Mrs. Whipple couldn t bear to think of it. She began to cry,
frightfully, and wrapped her arms tight around Him. His head rolled on her shoulder:
she had loved Him as much as she possibly could, there were Adna and Emly who had to
be thought of too, there was nothing she could do to make up to Him for His life. Oh,
what a mortal pity He was ever born. (444 45) Jack in James T. Farrells A Jazz Age Clerk

Diabetic Neuropathy Research Paper
Diabetic Neuropathy Definition
Diabetic neuropathy is nerve damage that occurs with diabetes. Approximately half of
all people with diabetes have some form of neuropathy. It is more common in people
who have had the disease for many years. Tight control of blood sugar can prevent
neuropathy from occurring. Those who already have diabetic neuropathy can stop it and
prevent it from becoming worse with healthier eating habits, medications and exercise.
Diabetic Neuropathy Causes
In people who have diabetes, their bodies either no longer produce insulin or no longer
respond to the insulin that is produced. As a result, blood sugar levels in the body can go
dangerously high without proper diet, exercise and medication regulating these levels.
When blood sugar levels in the body are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Anti seizure medications and antidepressants are sometimes prescribed to patients who
haven t found relief through other medications. These medications can change how the
body senses pain and bring relief.
Diabetic Neuropathy Complications
People often first become diagnosed with diabetic neuropathy in the hands or feet.
Taking care of the hands and feet to prevent cuts and injuries from occurring is essential
to reduce complications. Because of the nerve damage, cuts and infections will take
longer to heal.
Those who have nerve damage in other parts of the body, such as the urinary tract or
blood vessels, may need to take additional medications in order to prevent complications
from occurring. For example, diabetic neuropathy can cause some people to lose the
sensation that they need to urinate, which can cause urinary tract infections. Going to the
restroom on a regular schedule and taking antibiotics can stop this from occurring.
Diabetic neuropathy can sometimes affect sexual health. In this case, medications can be
prescribed to help with sexual function in

Ben Jonson Syntax
Ben Jonson is known for his outstanding poems and plays written in the seventeenth
century. He s capable of putting simple words in a verse and makes them have so
much meaning just by the way he uses them. In the poem His Excuse for Loving, his
use of diction, syntax, and tone are used in a way that lets the reader realize exactly
what he means. Jonson s work in this poem is quite simple, but says so much. He
expresses exactly how he feels towards his loved one with the use of certain words that
tie everything together. The language in the poem seems to be somewhat plain. Although
it is plain, the author, Jonson, still manages to put some dazzle inside what is plain. His
word choice is simple throughout each verse, therefore leading to the... Show more

This is because Jonson shows his writing in a behavior that is acknowledged and not
hated. In other words, his tone is not angry, sad, or even desperate. Formal is the word
that pretty much describes it the best just like his syntax. Tonal shifts are a minimum in
this poem. Actually there is no shift that changes his actual tone. He says his age does
not affect his love, but doesn t go into a sad tone. He simply stays serious as he was in
the beginning. Therefore, the poem is not affected by tonal shifts, leaving a clear
understanding. Jonson creates the tone of formal or serious by just expressing himself in
a behaved manner. Nothing else expresses these two tones. Plus his wording is just
phenomenal; which ties everything together so well. The meaning of the poem and the
tone come together to show beautiful work with so much expressed in such a simple
Elizabethan Music
Music During The Elizabethan Era
During the reign of Queen Elizabeth the First (1558 1603), English art and culture
reached a high point known as the top of the English renaissance. Elizabethan music
experienced a change in popularity from sacred to non religious music and the rise of
instrumental music. Experienced musicians were hired by the Church of England, the
wealthy, and rising middle class. Queen Elizabeth I greatly enjoyed music and played
the lute and virginal herself. She also believed that dancing was a great form of
physical activity and hired musicians to play for her while she danced. While she was
queen, she employed about 70 musicians and her interests were to be adopted by those

They were equal to a modern town s band. The role of the Waits was to perform at
public events that would be viewed by the town and were supposed to play original

Street musicians or travelling minstrels were frowned upon. They were often feared by
the community and grew out of style when they were replaced by tavern and theatre
musicians. Street music was often heard at markets and fairs, and was usually light and
quick. They performed using instruments such as fiddles, lutes, recorders, and small
percussion instruments gathering crowds when they played. According to elizabethan

a far cry of the sophisticated and refined music of the Elizabethan court .
Due to the increasing popularity of music, theater became popular itself. Location was
very important to a theater musician, as the location gave different effects to the sound
produced. This could create the illusion of distance or providing an atmosphere to the
plays and performances. With the rise of William Shakespeare in 1556, theater music
became even more popular.
Composers Many composers of the Elizabethan period are still known today. William

the Elizabethan composers. He was the main composer of religious music and many of

Gender and Power in Perpetua s Passion
Perpetua s Passion is one of the only few records of the life of a female martyr Vibia
Perpetua. This record is very special because it contains Perpetua s own narrative of
her last days before her execution, along with an editor s comments. Most of Perpetua
s narrative is about her experience after the capture, and her dreams, or visions, or the
revelations of the divine to Perpetua. In this paper, I will discuss the presentation the
symbols in her dreams, in order to exam the power balance of female and male
presented in her voice, and reveal the struggle of Perpetua s voice under the editor s
manipulation. Perpetua s background already highlights her significance in the Christian
community and even among the Christian women. Since we now have her own
narrative of her days in the prison, we as readers can conclude that she was very likely
to be literate and maybe well educated. According to W.V. Harris, Perpetua knew Latin,
and maybe Greek also. Brent D. Shaw says in his article that Vibia Perpetua s family
name indicates that this was a locally prestigious family that had obtained their Roman

Excerpt From My Left Foot By Christy Brown
Christy Brown explains in the excerpt from My Left Foot that his mother gave him the
strength to succeed, in conquering his condition. In the excerpt from My Left Foot by
Christy Brown, Mrs. Brown shows determination in helping Christy overcome his
cerebral palsy, perseverance to make Christy feel loved and normal, and faith in Christy s
intelligence.
One of Mrs. Brown s virtues includes determination. Determination is defined as a quality
that makes a person continue trying to accomplish something. Mrs. Brown is determined
to help Christy conquer his disability. Mrs. Brown continues to read to Christy and ask
him questions even though she never gets a response. She also encourages Christy to not
give up. Mother held the slate steady for me. Try again, Chris she whispered into my ear.
Again. (161). With her guidance and encouragement, Mrs. Brown is able to help Christy

Perseverance is a quality which allows a person to complete things despite hardships.
Christy s mother persevered to bridge the gap between her children. Christy s siblings
loved him, but only treated him sympathetically. While my father was out at bricklaying
earning our bread and butter for us, mother was slowly, patiently pulling down the wall,
brick by brick, that seemed to thrust itself between me and the other children... (158).
Christy reveals in this quote that his mother worked painstakingly to make sure all of
her children treated each other equally. She also made sure to make Christy feel as
normal as possible. She would never hide him, or treat him like the queer one, when

Psychodynamic Approach To Psychology
When comparing the behaviouristic and psychodynamic approaches to psychology, it is
important to remember that they are both branches of psychology and both have many
similarities and differences. By definition behaviourism is the theory that human and
animal behaviour can be explained in terms of conditioning, without appeal to thoughts
or feelings, and that psychological disorders are best treated by altering behaviour
patterns . (Oxford English Dictionary, (2006)). It was first considered by John B.
Watson (1978 1958). Watson believed that he could change the views of people and in
1921 he started a career in advertising using applied psychologymethods. It was Sigmund
Freudwho founded the psychodynamic approach to psychology in the late... Show more

There are two of methods associated with the behaviouristic approach 1.Classical
conditioning and 2.Opperant conditioning. Classical conditioning is shown when a
neutral stimulus needs certain properties of the unconditioned stimulus, through
matching the unconditioned stimulus with a neutral stimulus. Behaviour is controlled
by association. Operant conditioning is demonstrated when the reinforcing
consequences immediately following the response increases its future likelihood (Lisa
Bustamante, et al. 1996.). For example Skinner (1904 1990) who was considered the
best behavioural psychologist of all time, undertook many experiments looking at
learning processes and how stimuli effect a performance. Psychodynamic methods of
investigation are clinically derived rather than scientifically experimented in the
behaviouristic approach. Most psychodynamic experiments are done by observations
taking into consideration the views of the person being observed. Sigmund Freud a
renowned psychodynamic psychologist and physician believed that by using his
patients for analysis in the area of psychodynamics he would be able to get a basis to
his work. This involved treating patients that had intense fears and phobias, however
Freud couldn t understand why the fear was there in the first place because there was no
physical trait that could explain it. Freud believed that there were different levels of
consciousness and that when unconscious forces are too strong they can result in clinical
conditions such as anxiety (Lee. L, 2015). Which led to the conclusion that fears must be
developed in the sub conscious
The Technology of Computer Networks
Introduction
Computer network a system used to link PCs or computer equipment (servers, routers,
and other equipment). For data transmission can be used various kinds of electric
signals, light signals or electromagnetic radiation. Computer networks can be classified
according to various criteria territorial prevalence, type of network topology, etc. One of
the criteria the type of transmission, the network is divided into wired and wireless.
Wi Fi a trademark of Wi Fi Alliance for wireless networks based on the standard IEEE
802.11. The acronym Wi Fi (from the Wireless Fidelity, which can be literally translated
as the quality of the wireless ) is currently developing as a family of standards for the
transmission of digital data radio streams. It is still often hears that the wireless network
is not secure compared to wired solutions. At the present stage of Wi Fi technology s
development that is not true. Simply security needs to be addressed (to design and
maintain), as in the case of a wired network.
It has long been known that the defense of any infrastructure is only one method of
creating a protected perimeter is ineffective, as often the most dangerous attacks are
caused by factors within the network. Building a security system Wi Fi network should
take into account all of these factors in order to come as close to a similar level of
security of wired and wireless network segments.
And what, in fact, an attacker can get on the wireless network , set up which

Why is it important for an organization to have alignment between its strategy and
structure?
An organization must align its strategy and structure to allow itself to achieve
performance improvements over time. The four different structures, simple, functional,
multidivisional, and matrix, are all suited to allow companies with different strategies to
succeed but the company must decide which of these is correct for itself. A small start up
company will overburden itself with excessive cost if it seeks to implement a functional
structure because it clearly will not have the talent on hand to create whole departments
of HR employees or accountants. On the other hand, a company that grows to become a

Give Nike some advice on actions the company could take in different geographic
markets that would connect economic and social needs.
The shared value creation framework theorizes that managers should focus their value
creation efforts on both shareholder value and value to society (Rothaermel, 2015).
There are two specific ways that Nike could utilize the shared value creation framework
to serve societal needs are the world: inner city design and engineering schools and
selling basic shoes in African markets. These tactics would allow the company to realize
benefits while at the same time having a significant positive effect on communities

  • 2. The Importance Of Curses In Moby Dick The belief in curses are not something uncommon shared by sailors and other seafaring people. For instance, the Albatross is a negative sign, and particularly the death of one can be seen as a curse. Bad luck comes in troves on the open ocean, and the most famous bout of bad luck belongs to Captain Ahab. Ahab s obsession with the destruction of the white whale in Herman Melville s Moby Dick is one of many key elements of the book, and certainly is what the book is most well known for. However, many dismiss Ahab s rage at the creature as the ravings and delusions of a mad man seeking revenge. Ahab s reasons are, in fact, far more complicated. Moby Dick represents Ahab s loss of control over his actions. The moment that he lost his leg to the whale, Ahab lost control over his own actions: Then, in darting at the monster, knife in hand, he had but given loose to a sudden, passionate, corporal animosity (Melville, 156). Freedom inspired a large amount of people to come to American to start a new life. With an influx of people and the desire for personal space, America expanded under the jurisdiction of Manifest Destiny. American s of that time began to move west of the Mississippi river into untamed, and isolated areas. There are many accounts of these migrations and stories of the untamed wilderness, but one of the classics is My Antonia by Willa Cather. It has been no wonder why suicide was at it s highest peak during the peak of pioneer expansion. Pioneers were trapped in a place they hardly knew, performing tasks they never had before, and trying to survive without social interaction. Some of the people who had it worst at that time were the immigrants because they could not speak English or comprehend some of the differences between America and their homeland. Living on the prairie was a constant struggle with not only the physical aspects, but also the mind. People like Mr. Shimerda in My Antonia were prime examples of the suicide caused by the unhappiness with the choices they had made to move to the new land. In book one of My Antonia Mr. Shimerda was described as a jovial man who always played his fiddle for all to hear and who loved to sing, dance, and converse. As the first few chapters wear on, Mr. Shimerda s personality begun to fade. He was grouchy and blunt when he used to be happy. He was not happy with himself, which drove him to suicide. This action was inspired by one of Willa Cather s friends in Nebraska named Annie who emigrated to the U.S. from Poland. In a critical analysis of My Antonia by Willa Cather, John J. Murphy takes a look into her inspirations. His article titled Raw Materials was published in Boston, Massachusetts in 1989 by Twayne Publishing Co. About My Antonia, he said, Annie obviously admired him, was often his companion, and describes him as a man in a million who never swore or used dirty words like other men nor ever drank or play cards he was a clean man in everyway. Then on 15 February 1881 he took his shotgun and said he was going rabbit hunting but failed to return by late afternoon. They found him shot in the head and half sitting behind the board bed in the shack. The body was cold, nearly frozen; the sheriff called it

  • 5. Oppression By Marilyn Frye Summary In Oppression by Marilyn Frye, Frye discussed how a bird cage symbolizes the systematic oppression of women. Frye explains that if you look at a single wire in a bird cage you cannot understand why the bird, is unable to simply fly around the wire and be free. But, when you step back and look at the cage as a whole system of interlocking wires you realize that the bird has no chance of escaping because of all the barriers put in their way (Frye). This is exactly the same case for women. When somebody tries to see the oppression of women. they look only at one problem women face, refusing to step back and see there is no one cause for their oppression. If instead they looked at all the barriers women face at once, they would finally see that women have no way of escaping oppression without continuous efforts of every person involved in the oppression, including the woman being oppressed and the sexist men doing the oppressing. Sexual assault is a major factor in the oppression of women. Take Hollywood, for example. Harvey Weinstein has only recently come under fire for his repeatedly assaulting women throughout his years working as a film producer. Weinstein would lure women into his hotel room or office under the guise of discussing movies and then attempt to assault them. To prevent women from exposing him, he threatened to blacklist anyone if they ever said anything. His victims included Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie, whom Weinstein assaulted when they were young

It is ironic how Fortunato, the person who will be murdered, asks about the family motto of Montresor, foreshadowing the near future and end of his life. Poe uses irony to deepen the readers understanding of his writing style and to hint at the future. Furthermore, irony is applied by Poe in Tell Tale Heart to intensify the tension amongst the characters. The use of dramatic irony gives the reader the knowledge that the main character is going to murder the old man, however, the old man does not. The dramatic irony heightens the sense of fear and desire to know what is about to happen next, catching the attention of readers. Writing about murder attracts a new wave of readers to Poe since no other author at that time wrote about murder, or anything closely related. • 23. Psychodynamic Approach To Psychology When comparing the behaviouristic and psychodynamic approaches to psychology, it is important to remember that they are both branches of psychology and both have many similarities and differences. By definition behaviourism is the theory that human and animal behaviour can be explained in terms of conditioning, without appeal to thoughts or feelings, and that psychological disorders are best treated by altering behaviour patterns . (Oxford English Dictionary, (2006)). It was first considered by John B. Watson (1978 1958). Watson believed that he could change the views of people and in 1921 he started a career in advertising using applied psychologymethods. It was Sigmund Freudwho founded the psychodynamic approach to psychology in the late... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are two of methods associated with the behaviouristic approach 1.Classical conditioning and 2.Opperant conditioning. Classical conditioning is shown when a neutral stimulus needs certain properties of the unconditioned stimulus, through matching the unconditioned stimulus with a neutral stimulus. Behaviour is controlled by association. Operant conditioning is demonstrated when the reinforcing consequences immediately following the response increases its future likelihood (Lisa Bustamante, et al. 1996.). For example Skinner (1904 1990) who was considered the best behavioural psychologist of all time, undertook many experiments looking at learning processes and how stimuli effect a performance. Psychodynamic methods of investigation are clinically derived rather than scientifically experimented in the behaviouristic approach. Most psychodynamic experiments are done by observations taking into consideration the views of the person being observed. Sigmund Freud a renowned psychodynamic psychologist and physician believed that by using his patients for analysis in the area of psychodynamics he would be able to get a basis to his work. This involved treating patients that had intense fears and phobias, however Freud couldn t understand why the fear was there in the first place because there was no physical trait that could explain it. Freud believed that there were different levels of consciousness and that when unconscious forces are too strong they can result in clinical conditions such as anxiety (Lee. L, 2015). Which led to the conclusion that fears must be developed in the sub conscious
  • 24. The Technology of Computer Networks Introduction Computer network a system used to link PCs or computer equipment (servers, routers, and other equipment). For data transmission can be used various kinds of electric signals, light signals or electromagnetic radiation. Computer networks can be classified according to various criteria territorial prevalence, type of network topology, etc. One of the criteria the type of transmission, the network is divided into wired and wireless. Wi Fi a trademark of Wi Fi Alliance for wireless networks based on the standard IEEE 802.11. The acronym Wi Fi (from the Wireless Fidelity, which can be literally translated as the quality of the wireless ) is currently developing as a family of standards for the transmission of digital data radio streams. It is still often hears that the wireless network is not secure compared to wired solutions. At the present stage of Wi Fi technology s development that is not true. Simply security needs to be addressed (to design and maintain), as in the case of a wired network. It has long been known that the defense of any infrastructure is only one method of creating a protected perimeter is ineffective, as often the most dangerous attacks are caused by factors within the network. Building a security system Wi Fi network should take into account all of these factors in order to come as close to a similar level of security of wired and wireless network segments. And what, in fact, an attacker can get on the wireless network , set up which
  • 25. Hrm 531 Week 9 Final Paper Discussion Question 11.1 Why is it important for an organization to have alignment between its strategy and structure? An organization must align its strategy and structure to allow itself to achieve performance improvements over time. The four different structures, simple, functional, multidivisional, and matrix, are all suited to allow companies with different strategies to succeed but the company must decide which of these is correct for itself. A small start up company will overburden itself with excessive cost if it seeks to implement a functional structure because it clearly will not have the talent on hand to create whole departments of HR employees or accountants. On the other hand, a company that grows to become a large multi national ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Give Nike some advice on actions the company could take in different geographic markets that would connect economic and social needs. The shared value creation framework theorizes that managers should focus their value creation efforts on both shareholder value and value to society (Rothaermel, 2015). There are two specific ways that Nike could utilize the shared value creation framework to serve societal needs are the world: inner city design and engineering schools and selling basic shoes in African markets. These tactics would allow the company to realize benefits while at the same time having a significant positive effect on communities around the
