Environmental Pollution is Causing Serious and Lasting...
One of the greatest problems that the world is facing today are of environmental
pollution, pollution is increasing rapidly every year and causing serious and lasting
damage to the earth. In the short story A Fable for Tomorrow by Rachel Carson,
describes a small beautiful town in America that later become a terrible town, because it
was overwhelmed by pollution. In addition, most of the technology that is uses in today
society causes pollution for examples, cars, and pesticides. However, it is very difficult
for people to give up on technology, since they are very used of using every day that
makes it challenging to protect the environment. It is a similar story Our Animal Rites by
Anna Quindlen, shows how nature is harmed because of... Show more content on

In addition, due to the expansion of modern agricultural technology, farmers tend to use
a lot of chemical fertilizers and pesticides to increase the harvest. Many burning
processes, such as wood and coal fires, wood stoves, and the burning of fuel in cars
harvest tiny elements of carbon, in the form of smoke. These may affect climate change
by dropping the clearness of the atmosphere. There are not a lot of people who are
willing to give up things that cause carbon dioxide pollution in order to protect the
environment. People think if they do give on everything that produces carbon dioxide,
that cause pollution they will not have enjoyment in their life, which makes hard for
people to live in harmony with nature. Moreover, it becomes a big challenge for people
to give up on something that is very useable in everyday life such as cars, and rail
because if they do not use car to go somewhere they have to walk, which takes a lot of
their. The other reason they do not want to give up on their things is more responsibility
and less leisure time to enjoy.
Another thing that is becoming a challenging to protect the environment is agricultural
technology that is causing pollution in the
Physical Therapy Career
Exploring career choices can be one of the most tasking process that one will come
upon. Starting off, I always wanted to be a hairstylist. Years went on, then it changed to
nurse, then psychiatrist, and finally settled on what I am now most passionate about,
physical therapy. Physical therapy really appeals to me because I love life and I want
everyone to be able to live life to the fullest. I want to be there for people who need help
getting back on their feet, literally. The working environment for a physical therapist can
vary to several places. Some of the most common work environments include
rehabilitation facilities, fitness centers, schools, and private practice facilities. Even
though the locations physical therapist differ,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After receiving a degree, the next step is to apply and attend a physical therapy school.
The course of physical therapy schools is about three to four years. Upon completion,
it is highly recommend to do a residence for a few years to gain experience. Since there
are many majors that one can go into for physical therapy, it is easier to find one that is
appealing. I am currently majoring in psychology which has been shown to spike the
interest more to physical therapy schools. With this major, I am hoping that I will be
able to receive a job in the future. Education is not the only thing, however, that one
needs to be a physical therapist. You must also become certified by taking the Federation
of State Boards of Physical Therapy. Volunteering is also a major part of this career field
along with internships, both which show you care deeply about people. With all these
thing that must be completed, I still am very passionate about this career field. After
taking the Strong Interest Inventory, I am almost certain that this is what I should pursue
in my future because physical therapist was the number one occupation on the list it
provided. Along with being number one on my list, my theme code also match up almost
perfectly with the theme
The Walking Dead By Robert Kirkman
The seemingly ordinary nature of the hand does more than just giving humorous gestures
or grasping different items with; the hands of a human being are one of the most valuable
limbs connected to the body that beholds power and expression. The function of hands
are significant because they are a vital part of who people are. Unlike other mammals,
humans use their hands in many diverse ways: touching, caressing, grasping, holding,
feeling, and manipulating. The humanhand can perform exceptional actions such as
greeting people, playing an instrument, making a sandwich, or lifting a weight. In
Robert Kirkman s graphic novel, The Walking Dead, examines how hands function as
a tool for survival in various ways including swinging an axe, pulling the trigger to a
gun, being physical with a person, shoving, and pushing different objects. Due to the
zombie apocalypse, severe issues arise and create a convoluted world that traumatizes
the living population. Hands go against the expectations of people because of how they
enable human beings to act out irrationally, harm, and even murder each other. Instead
of just using their hands to nurture one another, or to provide good deeds, people use
their hands as a lethal resource to fend for themselves. Hands play a vital role as being
the physical foundation that enacts certain behaviors in The Walking Dead in order to
convey the physical expression of love, the possession of weapons, and to pose as a
threat against other human beings.

Adaptations Protective shell: The purpose of this shell is to protect the Sepioteuthis
testa from predators and other possible danger. This shell protects their vital organs
including the brain, heart, stomach, kidneys, and much more. This protection can save
the Sepioteuthis testa from being killed from a blow to their soft skin that covers the
organs. The Sepioteuthis testa cuts off the end of the shell so that the shell does not
extend to the end of the fish, but cuts off before the fins. This allows the fins to be used
to transport the Sepioteuthis testa. Similar to crabs, they must find new shells to protect
them as they grow. This shell protects the Sepioteuthis testa, helping them survive.
Claws: These claws are used to attract mates and catch prey. The Sepioteuthis testa uses
the claws to quickly snatch their prey out of the water. The claws are also used during
mating rituals. The males with the biggest claw are more likely to impress the females.
The males may fight with their big claw, the one who wins reproduces with the female,
passing on their genes. Poison secreting pores: The Sepioteuthis testa uses these pores
when feeling threatened. It has a large amount of predators that could be waiting to
pounce. If there is a potential threat or predator nearby. the Sepioteuthis testa will
produce batrachotoxin, from its pores. This toxin is highly poisonous. When the

Definition Essay Success
What is success? The definition of success I believe is very personal and will be
different for everyone. Success to some people is when they start earning a lot of
money, but to me success is when I ve accomplished the goals to be able to do my
dream job. Something that I can look forward to everyday and easily wake up in the
morning feeling happy and positive, instead of trying to drag myself out of bed
complaining about the day ahead of me. Successis also the feeling of finally being able to
give back to my parents, and have them live comfortably. In other words success to me is
living a life I can feel proud of.
When I think about my future, I see myself as an established actress and model 10 years

My next question was when she started to grow up. I still haven t. I have grown up
some like when I graduated high school and I married your dad, also when I had kids,
she told me. She had started changing her choices when she had us. Weather they be
good or bad. My mom has done a lot of growing up these last few years. There has been
trial and error but she had us, because that s what we do is be there for each other. I
then asked her what made her grow up. It was having you, she said, because even
when I was married I didn t pay the bills. That was because my dad was in the Navy
and after they got married they went to Guam. Being in the Navy they didn t have to pay
Block Scheduling Essay
At WHS, each teacher teaches five classes and has one duty period. With the block
scheduling, every teacher has one day where they teach three classes and have one prep
period. The other day, they have two classes, a duty, and a prep period. Last year, my
mentor and I email the staff about their preference for the second semester duty. I took
into account these preferences and their free periods when making the schedule. When I
created the duty schedule with her last year, I found that odd days have more academic
instruction and that there are significantly more teachers with lighter instructional loads
on even days, causing scheduling difficulty for having a good number of teachers on hall
duty on odd days.
This year, I created and sent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

After school, my mentor called me down to talk to one of our building union
representatives. At first, I thought she wanted to discuss how she schedules cafГ©
duty for the guidance department, since they have one lunch wave a day instead of an
entire period every other day. Instead, the building rep had received a complaint by, as
she described, one of our more grumpy staff members, who was concerned that I was
assigning duties and that is the job of the administrator and not a teacher. She asked me
to send out a clarifying email explaining that I was collecting data related to the teacher
preferences and that the administrative team is scheduling the duties. As Diana, the union
building rep and I were wrapping up our meeting one of the special education teachers
popped her head in Diana s office and said, That was a great idea Shannon. Perfect
timing!

Defense Logistics Agency ( Dla )
Defense Logistics Agency
The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is the Department of Defense s (DODs) main
logistics combat support agency, providing global logistics support in both peacetime
and wartime to all branches of the military services as well as several civilian agencies
and foreign countries. The DLA provides the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps,
federal agencies, and partner nation armed forces with a full range of logistics,
acquisition, and technical services. DLA provides and sources all of the consumable
things America s military forces need to work from sustenance, energy and fuel to
uniforms, medicinal supplies, and construction material. DLA likewise supplies about 90
percent of the military s extra parts, deals with the reutilization of military hardware,
gives inventories and different logistics data items, and offers record automation and
production services to a large group of military and government organizations. The
Defense Logistics Agency is headquartered at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, and is a global
enterprise. Wherever the United States has a critical military presence, the DLA is there
to support their efforts. Since its founding in 1961, DLA has been an integral part of the
nation s military defense.
The origins of the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) date back to World War II when
America s huge military buildup required the rapid procurement of vast amounts of
munitions and supplies ( History of Defense, n.d.). After the war, a
Biblical Allusions In Grapes Of Wrath
The Bible is most widely sold book in history, and possibly the most influential. Contrast
that with The Grapes of Wrath, a book that was banned in America until rather recently,
and the two seem very unrelated. However, John Steinbeck uses the bible as a source of
inspiration in The Grapes of Wrath and includes references to the Biblethroughout the
book. Steinbeck s book serves to protest the large big business capitalism, that plagues the
migrants throughout the book and promotes a socialist revolution in the United States.
The biblical references featured in The Grapes of Wrathare meant to show the common
people will always prevail over the powerful minority, and there will always be a Christ
like figure that will lead that revolution. Steinbeck utilizes The Grapes of Wrath to open
the reader to the idea of a democratic socialist revolution in the United States by
grounding his argument in biblical allusions to emphasize his socialist rhetoric.
The biblical allusions of The Grapes of Wrath start even before the book is opened. The
title itself is an allusion to the book of Revelations , how God will come out of the
vineyard to purge the world of its evil. During an interchapter, Steinbeck calls attention
to his title in a passage to close the chapter. Steinbeck s philosophy in the book is the
need for a socialist society and he projects this onto the migrants, The eyes of the people
there is the failure; and in the eyes of the hungry there is a growing wrath. In the

skin, joint, and even your organs. Lupus is a very tricky disease and no one knows
what the cause of it is, the body natural defenses system is the immune system and
with lupus, the immune system attacks healthy tissues instead of attacking only the
damaged tissues. For example when you get things like a bacteria and viruses the
body will kill both good and bad cells because it can t tell the sick cells apart from the
healthy cells. People who suffer from this disease experience a lot of pain. The disease
is lifelong and has no cure however most people with lupus can control the symptoms and

Sportsmanship And Sportsmanship Of A Team
Sportsmanship All athletes can recognize that being a part of a team is hard. It is
incredibly difficult to select a group of teenagers that will (1) all get along, (2) work
together seamlessly, and (3) respect their coaches. The formula for the perfect team is
unknowable. One negative spirit always exists to drag the teamdown, to deflate their
motives and increase their egos; but that does not have any effect on the sportsmanship
of a team. Sportsmanship does not rely on the cohesiveness of a team. It does not
correlate with how many bonding trips a team endures or how many groups of friends
are on the team. It is not entirely internal or entirely external. Sportsmanship is not
simply the willingness of an athlete to respect other... Show more content on

Nevertheless, attitudes and jealousy grew. We dominated over other JV2 teams on the
court, due to the lack of completion rather than our skill; but we struggled in practice.
None of us could figure out how to work together. Not until our second tournament. The
morning bus ride was quiet and unassuming. Everyone sat separately and stared out their
own windows, listening to their own music. Upon arrival, we pulled up kneepads, put on
out ankle braces, tied our shoes, and trudged onto the court for warmup. Even with no
energy, we won our first game, and the one after that, and the one after that. First in our
pool, yet there was no real celebration. Bracket play started and, finally, we met some
teams that actually challenged us. While energy started to rise, so did the attitudes. After
actually playing, for once, cockiness spread throughout the team. Then, after fighting
our way past a small team in bright red jerseys, a game won purely by luck and
consistent serving, we found ourselves in the championship game. Our final opponents
hailed from one of those pretentious private school in Portland. We had watched part of
one of their games earlier, which did nothing to boost our confidence. While most of
them acted tough, our team was an accumulation of low self confidence and highly
neurotic girls. Psyched out by the mere height of the team (they had two six foot five
Analysis Of Ever After
Danielle s life is miserable as she lives in the same house as her stepmother and
stepsisters. Because she is the different one in the family, she is treated as a servant and
is forced to do chores around the house. On top of this, Danielle s heartless stepmother
and stepsisters are in constant competition with her, and will do anything just to feel
better than her. Thus, Danielle is persistently being oppressed and put down by them,
which is in no way satisfying her need for a caring familyand motherly advice. Danielle
s expectations for a loving mother and family are often not fulfilled by her stepsisters
and stepmother as a result of their cruel treatment due to their need to compete with her.
Ever After, directed by Andy Tennant, is a 2003 adaptation of the well known fairytale,
Cinderella. Danielle, who is the daughter of a dead nobleman, is a servant under the
roof of her wicked stepmother, Rodmilla, and her stepsisters, Marguerite and
Jacqueline. One day while in town, Danielle crosses paths with Prince Henry of France.
The two secretly fall in love, but they nevertheless have a strong force keeping them
apart: the Baroness and her determination that Marguerite or Jacqueline will become
Prince Henry s bride. However, Danielle proves that it is being kind hearted and
courteous that will win the crown in the end.
It is shown throughout the entire movie how disrespectfully Danielle s stepmother and
stepsisters treat her. In the scene that features Danielle doing
Corset Competitions
It is very likely that you have heard about waist trainers and cinchers, as they are
growing in popularity. This growing trend has added to an influx of corset companies
placing new products on the market. On the one hand, this leads to a greater selection

are the endless knockoffs that are not offering the same benefits as many of the higher
end trainers and cinchers.
In order to locate the best body shaper, it is imperative to understand the differences
between waist cinching corsets and the best waist training corsets. The following is a
breakdown of the differences between the two best corsets for waist training.

Emily Dickinson s Death Poems Essay
Emily Dickinson s Death Poems
Emily Dickinson s world was her father s home and garden in a small New England
town. She lived most of her life within this private world. Her romantic visions and
emotional intensity kept her from making all but a few friends. Because of this life of
solitude, she was able to focus on her world more sharply than other authors of her
time were. Her poems, carefully tied in packets, were discovered only after she had
died. They reveal an unusual awareness of herself and her world, a shy but determined
mind. Every poem was like a tiny micro chasm that testified to Dickinson s life as a
recluse. Dickinson s lack of rhyme and regular meter and her use of ellipsis and
compression were unimportant as long as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From examining her poems of natural transitions of life and death, changing states of
consciousness, as a speaker from beyond the grave, confronting death in a journey or
dream and on the dividing line of life and death one can see that Dickinson points to
death as the final inevitable change. The intensity of Dickinson s curiosity about dying
and her enthusiasm to learn of the dying persons experience at the point of mortality
is evident in her poetry. She studies the effect of the deads disappearance, on the living
world, in a hope to conjecture something about the new life they are experiencing after
death. Dickinson believes that a dying person s consciousness does not die with the
body at death but rather it lives on and intensifies. In To know just how He suffered

This essay will analyse the piece What s Going On by Marvin Gaye, based on it s
melodic, harmonic and rhythmic content. It will also consider the form, structure,
instrumentation and use of dynamics in the piece, while providing a contextualisation
of the piece to convey where it sits in a broader context, historically, socially and
politically. In addition, how it relates to its genre, what influenced the piece and what
has the piece influenced will be explored. The creative processes involved in the
recording and production of the piece will also be examined.

What s Going On defined a time in history where social unrest was at it s highest in the
black community. Police brutality was rife. Just like in the USA in 2015, one could
argue that this problem is still extremely prevalent. In the early 1970s, police were
racially profiling young black males and females across the United States. This was
witnessed by Ronald Obie Benson who wrote the initial draft of the piece. Benson
proclaimed What is happening here? One question led to another. Why are they
sending kids so far away from their families overseas? Why are they attacking their
own children in the streets? (Lynskey, 2011) Similarly, Gaye was also impacted by the
issues of the Vietnam war, in which his brother spent 3 years overseas like countless
other Americans. Gaye reveals I was very much affected by letters my brother was
sending me from Vietnam, as well as the social situation here at home. I realised that I
had to put my own fantasies behind me if I wanted to write songs that would reach the
souls of people. I wanted them to take a look at what was happening in the world.

Enzymes and pH Concentration
Enzymes and pH Concentration
Abstract
Enzymes are high molecular weight molecules and are proteins in nature. Enzymes work
as catalysts in biochemical reactions in living organisms. Enzyme Catecholase is found
on in plants, animals as well as fungi and is responsible for the darkening of different
fruits. In most cases enzymatic activities are influenced by a number of factors, among
them is temperature, PH, enzyme concentration as well as substrate concentration
(Silverthorn, 2004). In this experiment enzyme catecholase was used to investigate the
effects of PH and enzyme concentration on it rate of reaction. A pH buffer was used to
control the PH, potato juice was used as the substrate and water was used as a solvent.
The experiments involved PH buffers of different pH were added to potato juice, water,
and the enzyme catecholase. The mixture was then subjected to spectrophotometer at a
wavelength of 420nm taking the absorbance readings. In the second experiment, a
phosphate buffer of PH 7.0 was used in different measures together with different
measurement of potato juice and the enzyme catecholase then subjected to the
spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 420nm. The data collected inform of table and
analyzed using descriptive statistics such as line graph and later interpreted, showing that
PH and enzyme concentration do affect the rate of enzyme reaction

Something s Got Ta Give
Something s Gotta Give Research Essay Something s Gotta Give is an award winning
movie written by Nancy Meyers. This romantic drama is greatly known for its middle
aged comedic relief because it highlights the sexual encounters between an old bachelor
and a cougar of a woman. The reviews written by Roger Ebert, A.O. Scott and
Christopher Orr are about the movie Something s Gotta Give which will include an
opinion on the strengths and weaknesses of how each review is written.
Roger Ebert s 2003 movie review of Something Gotta Give was more informational than
it was a review. Ebert used a tone in his writing that would lead readers to believe more
details are needed about the characters and set to understand and form an opinion. Ebert
made sure readers were aware of the award winning cast featuring Jack Nicholson, Diane
Keaton, Keanu Reeves, Amanda Pete and Frances McDormand. Ebert observed while
watching this film that he himself was moved by the characters. Toward the end of his
informational bit Ebert makes an observation that there is a sexual mystery surrounding
the situation between Erica played by Diane Keaton, Dr. Mercer played by Keanu
Reeves and the notorious Harry played by Jack Nicholson. With plenty of nudity to go
around Ebert suggests Nicholson might have contributed to the screenplay.
A review written for the New York Times by A.O. Scott in 2003 about the movie
Something s Gotta Give was described as a weep, and the world laughs hysterically

The Horror Genre Essay
The Horror Genre
The horror genre is a topic that can be written or filmed about. In this essay, I will be
concentrating on films, and how the horror genre is included in them. The main
ingredients in a horror film are music, sound effects, lighting, camera trickery special
effects and most importantly a clever, catchy, scary script. But to make horror what it is,
a director will include many other things that create suspense and the eerie atmosphere
of the scene, or simply make us cringe. The prop are not just there to fill space, the
costumes aren t chosen because the character had to wear something or the film done at
night because the filming finished late. I will explain the reasons these ... Show more

The viewer will feel sorry for the victim, and feel hatred towards the murderer, getting
him or her involved in the film how often have you been watching a film and the
person sat next to you starts saying Yes! Yes! Kill him! or Don t be stupid! It s obvious
he s guilty! I certainly have (usually my mum). If the victim is female, she is often
attractive, making male viewers like her and then angry when she is killed, again getting
angry with the murderer. Once a person has started getting involved in a film, they won t
want to stop watching it they ll want to see the guilty murderer get caught, or killed.
Of course, in a horror film not all characters are real and nor are the events. Camera
trickery, special effects and make up add to the realism of a good horror film. The
lighting adds emphasis to make up, a character s personality or a frightening scene. If
something surprising happens, such as a hideous monster jumping out on someone, up
lighting will be used. This is when the lights are shone from the floor, up onto
something, e.g.. under someone s chin. This causes no shadows on the person s face,
making it seem big and bright, thus often scary. This usually makes a person jump,
increasing the thrill of the film. Otherwise, down lighting can be used to make a person
Ghost Sightings In The 18th Century
There are many things in our world that we cannot explain. We ve used religion,
science, stories, and theories, anything we could come up with to explain life s
mysteries. One subject of interest that we are all still stumped on are things classified
as paranormal. Paranormal activity is a very debatable topic, with some saying ghosts
and poltergeists are as real as you and me, while others try to explain the weird
happenings as something natural. Even if one believes in the paranormal or not, the
subject is, to say the least, very interesting. All over the world, there are claims of
supernaturalthings going on; there are ghostsightings every day, especially around
historical places, more specifically where mass killings or bloody battles have taken
place. One of these places that is famous for its ghostly visitors is the Tower of London,
located in The London Borough of Tower Hamlets, England. Not only is the Tower of
London a very interesting place because of its ghostly guests, but it also serves as an
important place in history.

From 1100 to 1952, the Tower was used as a prison, holding petty criminals to
overthrown monarchs to many other types of people. Among those of royal descent
and connection held at the prison were John Balliol, a Scottish king released only on
the grounds of a truce; Lady Jane Grey, who was deposed after a week on the throne
by Mary I; two illegitimate sons of Richard IV, whose deaths are both shrouded in
mystery; two of King Henry s wives, Anne Boleyn and Katherine Howard; and Edward
IV s very own brother, George, after being accused of plotting against his sibling, just to
name a few royal prisoners. Surprisingly, those of high status, such as Sir Walter
Raleigh, that were imprisoned here were actually given luxuries, some able to bring their
servants along with them or being allowed to leave the Tower at any
The Xenophobia Of Costa Rica
The Xenophobia of Nicaraguans in Costa Rica
Introduction
Migrant labor is omnipresent in global supply chains that seek labor at a reduced cost.
It is of no surprise that migrant labor is being used in coffee cooperatives and
plantations in Costa Rica. When visiting Costa Rica we were able to visit numerous
coffee plantations. Most of these plantations used migrant labor from Nicaragua, Panama,
the regional indigenous population of the Guaymi, and even local Costa Ricans. The
focus of this report will be on the Nicaraguan migrant labor due to my own personal
experiences and notice of an almost demonization of the Nicaraguan people in some
areas of Costa Rica, and ultimately how this could be harmful for Costa Rica in terms of
business and economics.
History of Nicaraguan Migration to Costa Rica
It is estimated that Nicaraguans have been migrating to Costa Rica for at least 100
years ( Nicaragua s ). At the end of the 19th century and during the beginning of the
20th century, Nicaraguans came to Costa Rica to work in banana plantations on the
Caribbean coast and the mines in Abangares. In the 50 s, Nicaraguan seasonal
migration satisfied labor on cotton plantations and by the mid 70 s, 50,000 Nicaraguans
were registered in Costa Rica ( Nicaragua s ).The 70 s also brought in an influx of
Nicaraguans due to an increasing oppression from the Somoza dictatorship in Nicaragua.
It was estimated that an additional 80,000 Nicaraguans went to Costa Rica while 200,000
went
The Role Of Genetic Discrimination In Life Insurance
You re sitting and waiting to buy life insurance. You walk into the room, the insurer
tells you, their company won t cover you. This is the third time an insurance company
won t cover you. Why? The insurer tells you, that with your genetic information shows
that you have a gene for alzheimer s and another gene for heart disease. How is this
okay? There is no law to protect people from life insurances, long term insurances, and
disability insurances from denying coverage or raising rates based on an individual s
genetic information. This is called genetic discrimination. Genetic discrimination is when
people are treated differently by their employer or insurancecompany because they have
a gene mutation that causes or increases the risk of an inherited disorder (What is
genetic discrimination?, 2018). The question is, should insurance companies be allowed
to have access to people s genetic information? No, insurance companies should not be
allowed to obtain access to genetic information because it can be used to discriminate
people and it s morally not right.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thousands of people are experiencing discrimination with insurance companies, over
something they have no control over, their genes. Every person has multiple DNA
differences/or genetic mutation that can increase and/or decrease their chance of
acquiring certain diseases, such as: cancers, alzheimer s disease, diabetes, heart disease,
etc. But just because people may have those certain genes/differences, does not mean
that they will ever get that disease (Genetic Discrimination Fact Sheet, 2015). It is also
discrimination because, if people are forced to show their genetic information, it will/can
lead to vulnerable groups being denied insurance or will have higher premiums to pay.
People cannot control their genes and they should not be subjected to this
Speech Language Pathology Personal Statement
Choosing a major can be difficult, especially when considering expanding your
collegiate career from your undergraduate career. For myself, Speech Language
Pathology was a clear answer for me to pursue, especially since I have a desire to help
change an individual s life and make a substantial impact that can affect more then just
one individual. From the start of my Speech Language Pathology collegiate career, I have
always been drawn to working with children and increasing their communication skills.
Although, my passion for working with children does not stop with expanding their
communication skills, but also to help them to become more confident and content with
whom they are.
As an undergraduate, I was able to gain a year and a half of clinician experience.
Unlike most undergraduate colleges, I was given the incredible opportunity to have
hands on experience with children varying in ages and in disorders. In my clinical
experience, I was taught and guided on how to create long term therapy goals, write ...

Within my year and half of clinician experience, I constructed a few future goals that I
would like to achieve while in graduate school. One goal is to continue growing my
knowledge with working with children with language impairments. This goal is one
reason that drew me towards The University of North Texas. With the hands on
experience from the preschool for children with language impairments, I could work
towards my completion of this goal. Another goal of mine is to gain more experience
with working with adults. My clinical experience was centered on children; therefore I
would like to become better rounded as a clinician by getting the opportunity to work
with adults who may have diverse impairments. Lastly, I would enjoy learning new
therapy techniques and how to ultimately become the best Speech Language Pathologist
that I can
Analysis of Two Sets of Historical Data to Construct and...
ASSIGNMENT PART A EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The objective of this report is to
analyze two sets of historical data and construct an appropriate survival model to
evaluate the behaviour of the two separate subjects. The process of modelling for the
medflies included: 1.Preliminary data analysis to find and plot the empirical hazard
and survival functions from the raw data based on a study on mortality rates of
medflies 2.Fitting and analyzing a Gompertz survival model, and by using least
squares to find the parameters 3.Considering the Weibull as an alternative model that
would fit the empirical data more appropriately 4.The optimal models chosen in steps
two and three was analyzed against the empirical data on medflies in software R for
analysis and the reasons as to why the models don t entirely fit with the empirical data.
The second set of data is based on a group of inmates analyzed after release from
Maryland State prisons in the early 1970s based on several covariates. The process of
modelling for this set of data included: 1.Looking at the Kaplan Meier estimate of the
survival function and the empirical hazard function without covariates 2.Considering the
arrest times for African Americans against other races by ignoring effects of other
covariates and analyzing the difference. 3.Fitting a regression model to the arrest time
information with all covariates; the error distribution for the model is also looked at,
along with which covariates were
Presidential Election Of The United States
On September 26, 2016, 84 million people tuned in to the most watched debate in
American history (Battaglio). 84 million of the 135 million people who are estimated to
vote in the United States 2016 presidential election fulfilled their citizen duties on
becoming aware of the candidates policies in order to make an informed decision when
voting happens in November (Battaglio). About 60% of estimated voters watched the
raw debate so where will the rest of the voters get their information from? They will most
likely watch the morning or evening newsthe next day but the problem is that the news
will not be covering the hard facts of the debate. They will be talking about how many
times Trump interrupted Clinton, Clinton s robotic answers, and possibly even update us
on Angelina Jolieand Brad Pitts divorce. The viewers will miss out on being informed
about important issues such as tax policies and wage gaps that Americans face everyday.
They are going to be informing us on things that grab our attention, things that will raise
their viewership and make them more money. News outlets are now entertainment
driven. As Al Gore points out in The Assault of Reason, the idea of celebrification of the
news negatively affected our public sphere in 2007 and continues to harm the public
sphere today. As a result, the public sphere is worse off today than in 2007. Our
Founding Fathers broke our government into three branches: executive, legislative and
judicial, with the hope that

  • 2. Environmental Pollution is Causing Serious and Lasting... One of the greatest problems that the world is facing today are of environmental pollution, pollution is increasing rapidly every year and causing serious and lasting damage to the earth. In the short story A Fable for Tomorrow by Rachel Carson, describes a small beautiful town in America that later become a terrible town, because it was overwhelmed by pollution. In addition, most of the technology that is uses in today society causes pollution for examples, cars, and pesticides. In addition, due to the expansion of modern agricultural technology, farmers tend to use a lot of chemical fertilizers and pesticides to increase the harvest. Many burning processes, such as wood and coal fires, wood stoves, and the burning of fuel in cars harvest tiny elements of carbon, in the form of smoke. These may affect climate change by dropping the clearness of the atmosphere. There are not a lot of people who are willing to give up things that cause carbon dioxide pollution in order to protect the environment. Unlike other mammals, humans use their hands in many diverse ways: touching, caressing, grasping, holding, feeling, and manipulating. The humanhand can perform exceptional actions such as greeting people, playing an instrument, making a sandwich, or lifting a weight. Due to the zombie apocalypse, severe issues arise and create a convoluted world that traumatizes the living population. Hands go against the expectations of people because of how they enable human beings to act out irrationally, harm, and even murder each other. Instead of just using their hands to nurture one another, or to provide good deeds, people use their hands as a lethal resource to fend for themselves. Hands play a vital role as being the physical foundation that enacts certain behaviors in The Walking Dead in order to convey the physical expression of love, the possession of weapons, and to pose as a threat against other human beings.

Scott and Christopher Orr are about the movie Something s Gotta Give which will include an opinion on the strengths and weaknesses of how each review is written. Roger Ebert s 2003 movie review of Something Gotta Give was more informational than it was a review. Ebert used a tone in his writing that would lead readers to believe more details are needed about the characters and set to understand and form an opinion. Ebert made sure readers were aware of the award winning cast featuring Jack Nicholson, Diane Keaton, Keanu Reeves, Amanda Pete and Frances McDormand. Ebert observed while watching this film that he himself was moved by the characters. Toward the end of his informational bit Ebert makes an observation that there is a sexual mystery surrounding the situation between Erica played by Diane Keaton, Dr. Mercer played by Keanu Reeves and the notorious Harry played by Jack Nicholson. With plenty of nudity to go around Ebert suggests Nicholson might have contributed to the screenplay. A review written for the New York Times by A.O. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thousands of people are experiencing discrimination with insurance companies, over something they have no control over, their genes. Every person has multiple DNA differences/or genetic mutation that can increase and/or decrease their chance of acquiring certain diseases, such as: cancers, alzheimer s disease, diabetes, heart disease, etc. But just because people may have those certain genes/differences, does not mean that they will ever get that disease (Genetic Discrimination Fact Sheet, 2015). It is also discrimination because, if people are forced to show their genetic information, it will/can lead to vulnerable groups being denied insurance or will have higher premiums to pay. People cannot control their genes and they should not be subjected to this
  • 25. Speech Language Pathology Personal Statement Choosing a major can be difficult, especially when considering expanding your collegiate career from your undergraduate career. For myself, Speech Language Pathology was a clear answer for me to pursue, especially since I have a desire to help change an individual s life and make a substantial impact that can affect more then just one individual. From the start of my Speech Language Pathology collegiate career, I have always been drawn to working with children and increasing their communication skills. Although, my passion for working with children does not stop with expanding their communication skills, but also to help them to become more confident and content with whom they are. As an undergraduate, I was able to gain a year and a half of clinician experience. Unlike most undergraduate colleges, I was given the incredible opportunity to have hands on experience with children varying in ages and in disorders. In my clinical experience, I was taught and guided on how to create long term therapy goals, write ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Within my year and half of clinician experience, I constructed a few future goals that I would like to achieve while in graduate school. One goal is to continue growing my knowledge with working with children with language impairments. This goal is one reason that drew me towards The University of North Texas. With the hands on experience from the preschool for children with language impairments, I could work towards my completion of this goal. Another goal of mine is to gain more experience with working with adults. My clinical experience was centered on children; therefore I would like to become better rounded as a clinician by getting the opportunity to work with adults who may have diverse impairments. Lastly, I would enjoy learning new therapy techniques and how to ultimately become the best Speech Language Pathologist that I can

ASSIGNMENT PART A EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The objective of this report is to analyze two sets of historical data and construct an appropriate survival model to evaluate the behaviour of the two separate subjects. The process of modelling for the medflies included: 1.Preliminary data analysis to find and plot the empirical hazard and survival functions from the raw data based on a study on mortality rates of medflies 2.Fitting and analyzing a Gompertz survival model, and by using least squares to find the parameters 3.Considering the Weibull as an alternative model that would fit the empirical data more appropriately 4.The optimal models chosen in steps two and three was analyzed against the empirical data on medflies in software R for analysis and the reasons as to why the models don t entirely fit with the empirical data. The second set of data is based on a group of inmates analyzed after release from Maryland State prisons in the early 1970s based on several covariates. The process of modelling for this set of data included: 1.Looking at the Kaplan Meier estimate of the survival function and the empirical hazard function without covariates 2.Considering the arrest times for African Americans against other races by ignoring effects of other covariates and analyzing the difference. 3.Fitting a regression model to the arrest time information with all covariates; the error distribution for the model is also looked at, along with which covariates were

Presidential Election Of The United States On September 26, 2016, 84 million people tuned in to the most watched debate in American history (Battaglio). 84 million of the 135 million people who are estimated to vote in the United States 2016 presidential election fulfilled their citizen duties on becoming aware of the candidates policies in order to make an informed decision when voting happens in November (Battaglio). About 60% of estimated voters watched the raw debate so where will the rest of the voters get their information from? They will most likely watch the morning or evening newsthe next day but the problem is that the news will not be covering the hard facts of the debate. They will be talking about how many times Trump interrupted Clinton, Clinton s robotic answers, and possibly even update us on Angelina Jolieand Brad Pitts divorce. The viewers will miss out on being informed about important issues such as tax policies and wage gaps that Americans face everyday. They are going to be informing us on things that grab our attention, things that will raise their viewership and make them more money. News outlets are now entertainment driven. As Al Gore points out in The Assault of Reason, the idea of celebrification of the news negatively affected our public sphere in 2007 and continues to harm the public sphere today. As a result, the public sphere is worse off today than in 2007. Our Founding Fathers broke our government into three branches: executive, legislative and judicial, with the hope that
