Analysis Of Death Of A Salesman
Critical Essay
In Arthur Millers Death of a salesman we encounter an on going feud between salesman Willy Loman
and his son Biff Loman. In Willy s eyes the key to gaining success in life is to be well liked, attractive
and having a great personality, he is convinced if you have all these traits it guarantees you success
and that you could outrun those with qualifications in terms of being employed.
Willy bestows this theory of his onto his sons Biff and Happy during their teenage years. During Biffs
High School years he attains the captain position for the school s football team which gave Willy
another reason to believe that he and his son were on track to achieving the American Dream. Willy is
more than convinced at this point that they are both heading down the same path: to be known, to
achieve success and to be liked.
When Biff fails his maths exam during his senior year in high school he loses all hope, furthermore he
discovers Willys involvement with another woman after he decided to pay Willy a surprise visit. This
heavily influences their relationship they had as Biff realises the ugly truth and felt betrayed by his
father.
Willy has soaring expectations of Biff, however Biff fails to meet his father expectations, and hides his
failures from Willy in order to keep him happy. Even after Biff flunks maths, Willy still believes Biff
can make it . He doesn t believe this because Biff is his son, but rather because Biff is a handsome
young man, with a great

A simple and rapid reversed phase-high performance liquid...
A simple and rapid reversed phase high performance liquid chromatographic (RP HPLC) method was
proposed for simultaneous determination of imipramine hydrochloride and diazepam in
pharmaceutical formulations. Elution was done utilizing methanol: water: 0.1%m sodium acetate
(30:50:20 v/v/v) mobile phase with Chromosil C18 column in isocratic mode, at a flow rate of 1.0
ml/minute and detection wavelength of 243 nm. The measured retention times for imipramine
hydrochloride and diazepam were 3.33±0.02 and 4.64±0.02 minutes, respectively. Validation of the
method was established from linearity, robustness and recovery studies. Linearity was measured in the
range 5 50 µg/ml for imipramine hydrochloride (r2=0.999) and in the range 2 20 µg/ml for ... Show

It was also determined in human serum [4, 9] and urine [4, 9].
Diazepam has been studied separately, in combination with other benzodiazepines and with other
drugs [12 16]. It was studied in pharmaceutical form, blood and plasma [12 16]. These studies were
carried out using analytical methods such as chromatography [13], HPLC [14,15], second derivative
spectrophotometry [5,16], fluorimetry [17], differential pulse polarographic determination [18] and
capillary electrophoresis [19].
In this paper, we present the development of a method for quantitative and simultaneous estimation of
imipramine hydrochloride and diazepam. The developed method was validated by measuring linearity
range, limit of detection, precision, accuracy, robustness, recovery, ruggedness and specificity based
on ICH guidelines [20]. To the best of our knowledge, this was the first work reporting simultaneous
determination of IPM and DZM drug combination by RP HPLC method using ultraviolet (UV)
detection.
The chemicals methanol and water (pH between 5 and 8) were HPLC grade and were purchased from
Merck chemicals private limited, Mumbai. Sodium acetate and acetic acid used in this work were
analytical grade purchased from Merck chemicals,

Lionel Richie And Irving Berlin
Lionel Richie has a discography of albums and singles second to none and is part of the fabric of
American pop music. In fact, Lionel Richie and Irving Berlin are the only two songwriters in history
to achieve the honor of having #1 records for nine consecutive years. The real story behind Lionel is
essentially the American dream. Lionel was born in Tuskegee Alabama. He lived in a small, isolated,
predominantly African American community in the original home of Booker T. Washington. His
family home is situated directly on the campus of what is now Tuskegee University and was
previously The Tuskegee Institute, home the of the Tuskegee Airmen. Lionel s grandmother, Adelaide

He knew, however, that this act was the beginning of his stardom. This small pack of girls would turn
into millions of screaming fans yelling not only his name, but also singing along with every one of his
songs at every one of his shows. Motown Records was founded in Detroit, Michigan by Berry Gordy,
CEO and Chairman and was huge by 1971. Skip Miller was the Vice President of Motown University
as Lionel jokingly calls it today. One night, Skip Miller walked into a club, saw The Commodores
perform on stage and realized these kids had talent. Lionel, along with the rest of the group, was
presented to Berry Gordy and given a record deal. This record label was prolific at the time because it
had the most respected R B and soul acts of the era including The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Smoky
Robinson, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, and The Jackson 5, who The Commodores would later
tour with. As the opening act for The Jackson 5, The Commodores began the start of their
international success. They released their first single, Machine Gun in 1974, which reached #7 on the
US R B charts. The Commodores would go on have more singles that topped the charts including
Brick House , Just To Be Close To You , Too Hot Ta Trot , Endless Love , just to list a few.
Lionel Richie has countless albums, but he is also known as a Music Icon. International Superstar. 100
million albums sold worldwide.

The Five Characteristics Of The Five Sources Of Power
A leader has many important characteristics. One of these important characteristics is power. Without
power, leaders would not be able to influence their followers to achieve their goals ethically. There are
five main sources of power for leaders. The influence that leaders have using these sources could be
either negative or positive.
My Research to Answer the Question:
In 1959 John French and Bertram Raven stated significant theories regarding the source of power in
their article The Bases of Power and suggested that there are five sources of power. These sources are
placed into Organizational Powers and Personal Powers. Organizational Power contains Legitimate,
Coercive, and Reward power while Personal Power contains Expert and Referent power or
Connections power (Merchant., n.d.). Raven then added another power source called Informational
power six years later (Prescott, 2015). Other sources of power that are not part of the theory that
French and Raven stated are Moral power and Political power.
Legitimate power, also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I agree with this statement due to the fact that employees who are working without job security, and
are working out of fear rather out of love will not work effectively, nor will they be loyal to their
employers and would quit when they get the first chance to or find another job. The employee would
oblige to the task in fear of facing the consequences of not doing it (Prescott, 2015). In order for this
to happen, the followers must believe that the leader has the ability to what he or she is threatening to
do (Leadership Power, n.d.). Thus, this power gives the leader control over behaviors and causes the
employees to stick to the rules and guidelines of the organization but it could also cause the followers
to be unhappy (Prescott, 2015). An example could be that of a mother who threatens her child to go
into a time out if he or she fails to behave in

Culture At Enron Corporation, An American Energy,...
Culture at Enron Organizational culture is defined as a cognitive system of beliefs, attitudes, values,
and behavioral norms that are shared by members of the organization. The documentary The Smartest
Guys in the Room researched, chronicled, and explained the culture and collapse of Enron
Corporation, an American energy, commodities, and services company. The organizational culture of
Enron was extremely multifaceted and comprised of many aspects. According to Schein s three levels
of organizational culture, such aspects were expressed by means of manifest articles such as heroes
and language, which were linked to espoused organizational values, and then connected to basic
assumptions about the company and what was deemed important there. Manifest artifacts are things
that are characteristic of the organizational structure and processes. Espoused values are the standards
that define and are defined by culture, and by which organization members judge what is good and
desirable. Basic assumptions are the deepest level, which include the beliefs, perception, and emotions
of organization members that are often not expressed and unconscious. This paper will analyze the
links and connections between artifacts at Enron, the values and standards they expressed, and what
can be assumed about the cultural beliefs, perceptions, thoughts, and feelings at Enron. The culture at
Enron was characterized by manifest articles such as heroes. Kenneth Lay, the CEO of Enron, and Jeff

Monologue In The Messenger
Markus Zusak s, The Messenger features the protagonist Ed Kennedy, and how he completed each
mission of aces; diamonds, clubs, spades and hearts. The suit of spades was symbolic to Ed s overall
mission as Ed had to dig through truths about himself. Before the suit of spades Ed s thought of
himself was that he was worth nothing, evident through the narration of Ed s monologue. The suit of
spades saw Ed wanting more for his life, evident through the characterisation of Ed, the changes in his
monologue. The start of the novel Ed s narration and dialogue of himself showed that Ed believed he
did not deserve happiness, to be better, to love that he would amount to nothing. The very first
introduction of what how Ed saw himself was when he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That if he wanted to be better, happy and loved he first would have to see himself in a happy, loved
and better light. Each mission saw Ed bring something to someone else but spades was the final trial I
need to dig myself out of (282). Therefore spades was symbolic as it saw Ed change his opinion on
himself, recognising that he had to do something, if he wanted to be more than nothing. I d rather
chase the sun than wait for it (306), and If I ever leave this place... I ll make sure I m better here first
(307). Both these quotes show how Ed s mind frame has shifted from accepting that he was nobody to
wanting to be something. The use of the pronoun I emphasises the fact that Ed accepts that he has to
do it himself. It shows how Ed realises that he is the only that can do it, that he cannot rely on anyone
else. This want for changing himself meant Ed s view on himself was not to scrutinise but rather
realise. Realisation in that driving a cab and renting a fibro shack can t be the final answer of my life.
(331). This want to change and realisation that he could do, sets up Ed to physically do something
about it. The aim of the Ace of Spades, was to lay the foundation of realisation that if Ed wanted to
change he would have to do it himself. That in order to become somebody to others, he would have to
become somebody to himself. Other people only started to recognise how Ed s change, after the ace of
spades, Now you re somebody

If Democracy Had A Birth Date
If democracy had a birth date, it would be June 15, 1215. On that fateful day, on the meadow called
Runnymede along the River Thames, English barons confronted a tyrannical King John to demand
that their list of grievances be addressed. In the 63 clauses of the esteemed Magna Carta, the barons
were largely concerned with protecting themselves from unjust taxes and defending their rights and
privileges. However, the Magna Carta accomplished so much more. It established for the first time the
principle that the king is not above the law. Also within the historical document are the core principles
the rule of law and the law of the land that have resonated with nations in search of freedom and
justice. In fact, nearly six centuries after King ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the first colonists arrived in Jamestown, West Virginia in 1607, they carried with them their hopes,
dreams, fears, and most importantly, the individual liberties and established rights that were their
birthright as Englishmen. By the 1600s, these colonists subjects of England had enjoyed political
freedoms, such as trial by jury, largely unheard of elsewhere in the world. The Magna Carta, signed
centuries before on the plains of Runnymede in 1215, had established the principle of limited
government. That meant that the power of the king was not absolute. According to the principles of
mercantilism, the colonies main function was to bolster the mother country, both economically and
politically. The American colonies were set up as a source of raw materials for England. They were
expected to export valuable commodities, such as cotton, lumber, tar, gold, and silver, among other
things. They were regarded as English subjects and possessions of the mother country. Over time, the
colonists, forced to straddle two worlds, both England and America, rebelled. Their primary source of
anger and frustration was that they were being severely taxed without having a voice in Parliament.
After the Sugar Act passed in 1765, Samuel Adams, who saw it as a violation of their birth rights and
liberties, won the support of the Massachusetts Assembly and declared: If taxes are laid upon us in any

The And Disease Of The Roman Empire
Throughout history the human race has been faced with one key factor that no one civilization has
even been able to beat, not the might of the Roman Byzantine Empire, nor the combined efforts of the
entirety of Europe and their scholars could defeat this recurring foe. Pandemics, from the Greek pan
meaning all, and demos meaning people (Harper Etymonline.com), are these indiscriminate killers
whom care not for your social standing be it wealth, fame, or glory. Humans have contested with
disease ever since the infantile stages of the species, but the ability of it to spread was severely
inhibited by the fact that humans stayed in small groups of 10 30 people at most, giving the virus or
disease severely hampered virulence. It was not till humans began gathering in larger, more permanent
settlements such as the early Classical cities of Athens, Ramses, and Rome, that the issue of sanitation
and disease came into effect. This has not to say that our issues with sanitation and disease prevention
have stopped, rather have they been brought forward into the limelight, many nations around the
world today have issues with age old diseases and give rise to extremely deadly new viruses of their
own. To fully understand the effect of pandemics in history, then one must consider three major
plagues of our recorded history, the first pandemic Plague of Athens , the pivotal Plague of Justinian ,
and the infamous Black Death

Sister Agatha Research Paper
Untitled
Sailing across the great waters, the St. Joseph currently housed three nuns of the Augustinian order
and three from the Ursuline order with a small number of priests. These were the remaining from the
original twenty four who set sail from Normandy in April, 1639.
Sister Agatha had prepared for this journey by studying under Mother Superior in the hospital. She
had an aptitude for identifying diseases.
As the ship glided towards the dock, Sister Agatha saw men in various attire. Most striking were the
men standing stoic wearing animal skins. These must be the Natives they were taught so much about.
The walkway was lowered and the priests greeted the men allowing Sister Agatha to take a long look

Sister Agatha assessed and acted upon the situation immediately. She ran to grab towels and motioned
for the men to leave. What felt like hours passed and the child was finally, safely born.
Forgetting about small smiles, Sister Agatha went outside immediately with a large smile on her face
showing the men all was well.
Taking a few confident steps towards her, the Native man raised his right arm and motioned for her to
follow him. Though she had no idea what his intentions were, she trusted him and did as he wished.
Following him down the path to the river, where she would have expected to cross the river now stood
a beautifully constructed bridge. On the simple rails were carvings of men carrying their dead and
behind them Sister Agatha.
She turned to look at the man who motioned his hands towards the entire bridge and pointed to her.
She looked at him puzzled, and he then walked to the carving and pointed to the image of her. She
understood, he had this built for her.
She bowed her head and nodded with tears in her eyes, showing her appreciation and

The Importance Of Japanese Culture And Society
In societies across the world, religion has always had the ability to unite the people into communities
through its rituals and celebrations. Japanese society is a major example of how people can join
together as a community to celebrate their unique beliefs. However, this would then often raise the
question of which came first; the close knit community who started the religion, or the religion that
jumpstarted everything and brought people together. The truth of the matter is, if one were to look at
Japanese culture and society, it is rather apparent that ancient religions such as Buddhism and Shinto
form rituals and traditions which would then later shape the ceremonies that the community partake
in. These ceremonies are essentially festivals that villages put together to show respect and
acknowledgement for a certain religion or an important event. Festivals are done with the most
dedication among everybody in a village or town, and it is this dedication that proves how important
festivals are to the community. Essentially, the religion is the driving force behind a culture s
communal bond, and it is the festivals such as the Kenka Matsuri, Namahage Matsuri, and the Gion
Matsuri that are physical representation of this union. However, these religious festivals have proven
to lose its religious background and tradition and start to converge into a celebration of the community
itself. A very well known festival that Japan usually takes pride in is the Kenka Matsuri, or also

Thalidomide Research Paper
Thalidomide was introduced by the method of Russian roulette. Practically nothing was known about
the drug at the time of its marketing. A seemingly harmless drug with a dangerous secret, that was
overlooked due to the corporate greed of Grünenthal, the company that synthesized thalidomide. A
short time after its release, the drug became a sudden hit in countries across the world. It was known
as the wonder drug due to the fact that scientists could not get a test rat to overdose. The illusion that
thalidomide was safe, went to the point that manufacturers were claiming that even pregnant women
could take the drug for morning sickness. Alas nearly 12,000 infants would be maimed at birth with a
once rare disease known as Phocomelia, meaning seal limbs , and only 5,000 would survive past
childhood (Brynner and Stephens 9). Richardson Merrell attempted to submit an application to the

Demographics And Its Impact On Health And Health
In my research, I discovered that population trends will dramatically impact healthcare. Simply put the
more people who exists the more healthcare that is required. Population is not the only factor and
other sub factors of population such as age, race, and ethnicity or demographics and they also have an
impact on Healthcare. For example, the population of people in the U.S. over the age of 65 in 1950
was only 8.1% of the total population. The trend of that number is expected to rise to 20.2% by 2050.
Geographic trends can assist healthcare professionals where to focus their educational efforts in terms
of healthcare availability. Psychographics examines the consumer or the factors that motive them such
as values, attitudes, beliefs, motions, interests, and personalities.
Demographic trends can be used to target specific gender and ethnic groups from a healthcare
perspective. An example of this targeted healthcare is research showed that males, both non Hispanic
and Hispanic, in the Michigan area where disproportionately affected by cancer (Kodjebacheva,
Blankenship, Hayman Jr, Parker, 2016). The application of this is by knowing this data and data
similar to it, we will be able to have focused HealthCare to the demographics that statistically need it
more than others.
The study of Geographic trends will allow us to better understand physically where healthcare
resources are lacking compared to other typically developed areas. An example of application here is a

Relationship Between T Cell Regulation And Type I Diabetes
Abstract The purpose of this study is to explore the relationships and mechanisms between T cell
regulation and type I diabetes by using NOD mice model. NOD mice can spontaneously develop a
form of autoimmune diabetes which is similar to human Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus. T cells
can destroy beta cells of the pancreatic islets which can produce insulin. Thus, by analyzing the
development of NOD mice autoimmune diabetes to determine potential treatment for type I diabetes.
Introduction
Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases. There are different kinds of diabetes mellitus, but
an abnormal blood sugar level over an extended time always can be detected from patients who have
this disease. Type one diabetes mellitus also known as insulin dependent diabetes, patients with this
type of diabetes have pancreatic beta cells destruction causing absolute lack of insulin with a tendency
to ketoacidosis. It can occur at any age, but more commonly occurs in young people. Patients with
acute onset of metabolic disorders symptoms need insulin injections to survive. This type of diabetes
including immune mediated and idiopathic two subtypes. Immune mediated diabetes often has one or
more autoantibodies present, for example, islet cell antibodies (ICA), insulin autoantibodies (IAA) and
glutamic acid decarboxylase 65 (GAD65) antibodies.

There are several key factors that the police overlooked that could have caused this case to end sooner.
The first being that so many people died under his care. In my opinion if most of the individuals who
are seen in your practice end up dead I m not going to keep coming to you. Obviously, you re not a
good doctor. I know people that have been going to the same doctor for 20 years, especially older
people and these patients were all to have supposedly died of a heart attacks. (Gunn, 2010). In 1998 a
neighboring General Practitioner reported a high number of cremation forms that she was asked to

Maybe a simple question of why could have led them in the right path. Early in his career a judge
reinstated him into practice after he fought some mental health problems on the condition that he
would continue to seek help and care for his condition. This was never followed up on, if it had been
they might have figured out he still had a problem. Lastly, in the hospitals, doctor s offices, and
pharmacies I ve been to there is a record of drugs being uses and who is prescribing them. They also
record how much is given and are routinely audited and checked to make sure that records are up to
date. If just one of the previously stated incidences would have been looked into this evidence could
have been found and many lives could have been saved. Or just one comparison to the cause of death
and a look at medical records could have led to a break in this case. The medical records or lack
thereof would have been enough to convict Dr. Shipman or at least get him suspended or fined. There
are some explanations that could have been given for some of these but the amount of deaths and
incorrectly filled out medical records would have been enough reason for

My Grandmother s Parents On My Dad s Side Essay
My great grandparents, Joe Seymour and Bonnie Hudkins are my grandfather s parents on my dad s

was young, my great grandfather sent him without telling my great grandmother to an Episcopal Boys

paced in front of the video game store in the previous episode. After Cartman steals the phone from a
group of boys, he uses the device to call people in the past. Cartman s interactions on the phone
involve different triangular relationships. The most humorous one is when Cartman calls his past self.
In this situation there are two separate Cartman s interacting with each other, past Cartman and future
Cartman. The triangle relationship is between past Cartman, future Cartman, and the audience.
Essentially Cartman as a whole is being made fun of, but past Cartman s behavior is the main target of
the joke. Even though future Cartman is trying to help his past self, past Cartman is too stubborn to
listen. In that particular situation, future Cartman is actually being reasonable. However, both
Cartmans are still being made fun of because the interaction between them demonstrates that Cartman
is too stubborn to even listen to his future self. The situation is funny to the audience because Cartman
is unknowingly being made fun

Globalization And The Human Development Index ( Hdi )
Globalization is something to be said to have either brought the world together or brought us apart. It
is a debate that has been going on since it first began and how it is has affected the world has brought
controversy as well. Mainly, this paper will be focusing on the economic growth that globalization has
influenced. As the world is developing and has been over the past decades, certain countries have had
a significant increase in economic growth but it is said that there are risks and effects of globalization.
This paper will talk about how globalization effects developed countries and what countries need in
order to benefit from it. Globalization is defined as a process that, based on international strategies,
aims to expand ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As mentioned earlier, it is believed that globalization benefits world economies. This is because it can
increase their standard of living, creates access to new markets, and even widens the wage gap, but
there are some consequences as well. In the long term, there are many beneficial outcomes but short
term, people may suffer, especially the poor. The poor will ultimately become poorer because there
will be a decrease in employment. Globalization has often been thought to be the primary reason for
income inequality within a nation. Take for example the United States of America. A growing number
of American s believe that globalization is increasing the gap between the rich and poor, even
depleting those who are already poor. Essentially, making the rich even richer, and the poor even
poorer. A famous result due to Wolfgang Stolper and Paul Samuelson states that some groups will
necessarily suffer long term losses in income from free trade (Rodrik 2011, 38). The technological
advances take the jobs away from the people but make it easier for the country in the long run. A
popular criticism of globalization is outsourcing. While outsourcing provides jobs to people in one
country, it takes away those jobs from people of another country, leaving many without opportunities.
The opposing side would point out that American consumers are able to benefit from lower prices
which were made possible because of cheaper labor. Defending either side of this

Aquinas Cosmological Proof
St. Thomas Aquinas Cosmological Proof of God s Existence St. Thomas Aquinas was born in A.D
1225 close to Naples. Thomas Aquinas was the seventh son of lower nobility. Thomas s parents hoped
he would become a person with power and influence, so they sent him to Monte Cassino. Monte
Cassino was one of the big, great and wealthy Benedictine monasteries. After the monastery, Thomas
went to a University just founded in Naples and it was there that he became a fan of Aristotle s
philosophy. Thomas then went against his family s wishes, and refused careers in military or politics,
and became a friar for the Dominican order. Thomas Aquinas Christianized Aristotle s philosophy and
offered solutions or explanations on God, Humanity, and the Universe. ... Show more content on

Thomas Aquinas gives for proof of God s Existence is the Argument from Gradations of Perfection, or
also known as Argument from The Hierarchy of beings. Among beings there are some more and some
less good, true, noble and the like, which means that some are better or worse than others. But more
and less are predicated of different things, according as they resemble in their different ways. Now the
maximum in any genus is the cause of all in that genus; as fire, which is the maximum heat, is the
cause of all hot things. there is something which is truest, something best, something noblest and,
consequently, something which is uttermost being. This being is what we would call God. Therefore
there must also be something which is to all beings the cause of their being, goodness, and every other
perfection; and this we call God. God in the fourth way is known as and thought of as the highest,
best, and the perfect

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Heat Pump
The above diagrams illustrates how easy it is to utilise the key components but to reverse the process
i.e. to pump heat out rather than in, thus becoming an air conditioning unit (more correctly called a
cooling unit).
All the main components remain same with just the flow reversed (via the 4 way reversing valves) and
some additional minor components (e.g. check valves and specific expansion valve).
Simultaneous heating and cooling
The Heat Pump can be designed and configured as a multi mode machine.
 To generate only hot water from ambient air
 To simultaneously generate hot water and cooling energy.
 To generate only cooling for comfort
Hotels and hospitals continuously need air conditioning, and therefore on a multimode ... Show more

Water to Water (W W).
Water to Air (W A).
Water Source (iii. iv.) can be further subdivided:
a. Closed Loop: this is the most common form of Ground source system when buried.
b. Open Loop: much less common than closed loop ground source (e.g. ground Aquifer; open lake,
river or sea).
This sort of unit designation would lead to better description and slightly less confusion. It also
highlights that the key difference between water source heat pumps which work on closed and open
loops in the ground is the temperature they work at rather than the medium itself (which is the same
water).
3 Based on Motive / generating power input.
Heat pumps are also sometimes designated by the fuel source used to drive the process which is most
usually electricity ( 95%), less commonly natural gas and much less commonly LPG.
4. Based on Operating Temperature
For heat pumps generating hot water in their condensers (i.e. Air or Water to Water units) another sub
description is the flow temperature capability.
BS EN 14511 2011 high temperature heat pumps they are often referred to Very High Temperature i.e.
65°C.
For heat pumps producing warm air the temperature should not drop below 38°C to prevent risk of

A Historical Framework For The Contemporary Racial Of Mexico
With the recent discovery of 1.38 million Afro Mexicans based on a population survey conducted in
2015, two central questions have emerged surrounding the presence of Mexicans with African
ancestry in Mexico (Quartz). First, why were nearly 1.4 million Afro Mexicans not recognized in
Mexico s population census by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography, which began data
collection of Mexican citizens in 1983 (Colorlines)? Secondly, how has their lack of representation at
the national level impacted them geographically?
Throughout this paper, I will answer the aforementioned questions by establishing a historical
framework for the contemporary racial ideologies in Mexico rooted in Spanish colonial legacies. By
providing this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally, I will outline the static nature of Afro Mexican identity through an analysis of the
popular cartoon Memin Penguin. I will explain how this stagnant representation of Mexican blackness
isolates the Costa Chica of Guerrero from other spaces in Mexico. I will conclude by addressing why
this topic is significant to my scholarship as a student and what I hope further scholarly investigation
will uncover.
Before I unpack social racism in Mexico, it is important to distinguish two key points for reading this
paper. First, I use the terms African or Africanness and black or blackness interchangeably to represent
specifically Afro Mexicans in the Costa Chica of Guerrero who identify racially as black. Secondly,
white is used to distinguish White Mexicans while mestizo[s] signifies racially mixed Mexicans with
predominantly Spanish European and Indigenous Amerindian ancestry (Jerry). Mexico s Social
Racism
In order to understand how 1.38 million Afro Mexicans have remained hidden, I must first recount
their origins in Mexico dating back to the Spanish colonial era. During the 16th and 17th century,
100,000 250,000 African slaves were forcibly transported to New Spain to work on the sugarcane
plantations (Githiora). Most arrived at the Veracruz Port in South Central Mexico along the Gulf Coast
in what is now known as the

Homosexuality In Ancient Greece
In the wake of the 2016 presidential election and the stunning reality for many LGBT people of the
country electing an incredibly anti LGBT president and vice president, there was one area of
redemption for the LGBT community. Kate Brown, who is bisexual, became the first openly LGBT
governor (Phillips). For LGBT people, representation is a huge step forward for voices to be heard and
for equality to become a reality and to have an openly bisexual woman in an influential leadership
position, is important for the same reasons for the rest of the LGBT community, but also because of
how few bisexuals are out of the closet. The Pew Research Center has found that 71% of lesbians and
77% of gay men are out to all or most of the important people ... Show more content on

Police detained 60 men, and arrested 14 ( A History of the LGBTQA Movement ). Same sex attraction

presence in the early twentieth century in the United States as seen through this raid. In the same
article from 1934 to 1968, the Motion Picture Production Code, known as the Hayes Code, prohibited
depiction of homosexuality in film ( A History of the LGBTQA Movement ). Not only was there no
representation for LGBT people in film for this long period in twentieth century America, it was
illegal to for movie makers to depict homosexuality which leads to homosexuality becoming even
more taboo than how cultural attitudes around it create. In 1945, After the Allied forces liberated the
concentration camps, those interned for homosexuality are not freed, but required to serve out their
full sentences because of the German law outlawing homosexual behavior ( A History of the

had a huge impact on lesbians, gay men, and bisexuals who were found guilty of homosexuality and
even though they faced the same horrors of the Holocaust that Jewish people did, they did

Ready Player One
Ready Player One is one of the best books I ve ever read. The realistic characters, the setting and the
plot made it very good. The characters were very realistic and relatable. The setting was perfect for the
dystopian genre.
The author created characters that were realistic. For instance Wade Watts is poor and lives in stacked
trailers(The Stacks)and he is friends with people he has never met in real life. He also plays video
games in something called the OASIS. For Them life is based on The OASIS, they have schools and
jobs in the OASIS. He was raised by his mother in the OASIS while she was working. His mother,
Loretta, held two full time positions within the OASIS. She worked as a telemarketer by day, and as
an escort by night. His mother ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Wade Watts lives in the stacks with alice until he moves to Ohio to live near IOI. He plans to be
caught by IOI so he can hack into their security and find the files of when they killed Shoto and tried
to kill him. When they tried to killed him they blew up the stacks with ms. Gilmore in it. Wade was in
his van playing in the OASIS. Wade Watts says The van was my refuge. My Batcave. My Fortress of
Solitude.
Ready Player One had an excellent plot and was dystopian fiction. In Ready Player One Pretty much
everyone logs in to the OASIS daily to escape their terrible lives and to interact with their friends in
games and chat rooms. Halliday was the creator of the OASIS. Halliday had created easter eggs so
that when he died whoever found the egg and had the keys got to be the ruler of the OASIS. Wade
Watts found the three keys and got Hallidays mansion his fortune and got to rule the OASIS. He met
Art3mis and Aech who were his friends and helped him find the three keys.

A Text That Lasts Forever Essay
A Text That Lasts Forever
Tuesday morning the 10th of May had begun as any normal work day in our household. Pam s alarm
had gone off at the ungodly hour of five o clock in the morning and I had rolled over waiting for my
alarm to sound at a more decent hour of six o clock. Then I would start my day. When we left for work
that morning we had to stop and go back because Pam had forgotten her office keys. She never seems
to forget her coffee but the keys are another story. The traffic was at a normal rush hour crawl as we
headed south on Rufe Snow to make our way onto highway 121 towards Fort Worth and eventually to
Texas Wesleyan University. On this particular morning the sun had not yet peeked over the horizon.
However, the glow in the few floating clouds was announcing that summer was on its way and today
was going to be a sunny, hot day in Texas.
As we drove to work we were discussing meetings we each had for the day and the workload that
awaited us upon our arrival. We talked about the not so important yet pressing matters such as what
we would have for dinner and if our schedules would allow us to meet for lunch. We had turned onto
East Lancaster and were headed east, less than a mile from work, when things began to change. Traffic
was moving a little slower than the posted speed limit and the black truck in front of us made a
dramatic jerk from the inside right to the left hand lane. I was about ready to make some derogatory
remark about his driving when I

A Brief Look at William Byrd
While researching the style period the Renaissance, I came about the composer William Byrd. He
played a large role in the paper I instructed and thus caught my attention. I chose William Bryd as the
subject for this paper merely because according to The Top 8 Renaissance Composer Article by Aaron
Green, he was considered by many to be a genius on the keyboard and perhaps the greatest English
composer of all time. Other aspect about William Bryd I found interesting was his interact with Queen
Elizabeth I and Thomas Tallis, and this major works like Latin motets or Cantiones Sacrae along with
many more.
William Byrd s early life is unknown; He is believed to have been born in London sometime between
1539 and 1545. The exact date is unclear. He was one of seven children. He had four sisters, Alice,
Barbara, Mary, and Martha and two brothers, Simon and John. His parents were Thomas and Margery
Byrd. There is no written record of William Byrd s education, however he was a well educated man,
able to read and write very well in this time. William married in 1568 to a Juliana. They then had
seven children and a lifelong happy marriage. He eventually after a strong career as a composer or
chorister died on July 4th 1623 in a small village of Essex and was buried in an unmarked grave.
William was a top composer in the Renaissance era and composed a large number of astounding
musical pieces. Many believe that William Byrd outdid any other composers of his era and called him

  • 2. Analysis Of Death Of A Salesman Critical Essay In Arthur Millers Death of a salesman we encounter an on going feud between salesman Willy Loman and his son Biff Loman. In Willy s eyes the key to gaining success in life is to be well liked, attractive and having a great personality, he is convinced if you have all these traits it guarantees you success and that you could outrun those with qualifications in terms of being employed. Willy bestows this theory of his onto his sons Biff and Happy during their teenage years. During Biffs High School years he attains the captain position for the school s football team which gave Willy another reason to believe that he and his son were on track to achieving the American Dream. Willy is more than convinced at this point that they are both heading down the same path: to be known, to achieve success and to be liked. When Biff fails his maths exam during his senior year in high school he loses all hope, furthermore he discovers Willys involvement with another woman after he decided to pay Willy a surprise visit. This heavily influences their relationship they had as Biff realises the ugly truth and felt betrayed by his father. Willy has soaring expectations of Biff, however Biff fails to meet his father expectations, and hides his failures from Willy in order to keep him happy. Even after Biff flunks maths, Willy still believes Biff can make it . He doesn t believe this because Biff is his son, but rather because Biff is a handsome young man, with a great ... • 3. A simple and rapid reversed phase-high performance liquid... A simple and rapid reversed phase high performance liquid chromatographic (RP HPLC) method was proposed for simultaneous determination of imipramine hydrochloride and diazepam in pharmaceutical formulations. Elution was done utilizing methanol: water: 0.1%m sodium acetate (30:50:20 v/v/v) mobile phase with Chromosil C18 column in isocratic mode, at a flow rate of 1.0 ml/minute and detection wavelength of 243 nm. The measured retention times for imipramine hydrochloride and diazepam were 3.33±0.02 and 4.64±0.02 minutes, respectively. Validation of the method was established from linearity, robustness and recovery studies. Linearity was measured in the range 5 50 µg/ml for imipramine hydrochloride (r2=0.999) and in the range 2 20 µg/ml for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These studies were carried out using analytical methods such as chromatography [13], HPLC [14,15], second derivative spectrophotometry [5,16], fluorimetry [17], differential pulse polarographic determination [18] and capillary electrophoresis [19]. In this paper, we present the development of a method for quantitative and simultaneous estimation of imipramine hydrochloride and diazepam. The developed method was validated by measuring linearity range, limit of detection, precision, accuracy, robustness, recovery, ruggedness and specificity based on ICH guidelines [20]. To the best of our knowledge, this was the first work reporting simultaneous determination of IPM and DZM drug combination by RP HPLC method using ultraviolet (UV) detection. • 4. Lionel Richie And Irving Berlin Lionel Richie has a discography of albums and singles second to none and is part of the fabric of American pop music. In fact, Lionel Richie and Irving Berlin are the only two songwriters in history to achieve the honor of having #1 records for nine consecutive years. The real story behind Lionel is essentially the American dream. Lionel was born in Tuskegee Alabama. He lived in a small, isolated, predominantly African American community in the original home of Booker T. Washington. His family home is situated directly on the campus of what is now Tuskegee University and was previously The Tuskegee Institute, home the of the Tuskegee Airmen. This small pack of girls would turn into millions of screaming fans yelling not only his name, but also singing along with every one of his songs at every one of his shows. Motown Records was founded in Detroit, Michigan by Berry Gordy, CEO and Chairman and was huge by 1971. Skip Miller was the Vice President of Motown University as Lionel jokingly calls it today. One night, Skip Miller walked into a club, saw The Commodores perform on stage and realized these kids had talent. Lionel, along with the rest of the group, was presented to Berry Gordy and given a record deal. This record label was prolific at the time because it had the most respected R B and soul acts of the era including The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Smoky Robinson, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, and The Jackson 5, who The Commodores would later tour with. As the opening act for The Jackson 5, The Commodores began the start of their international success. They released their first single, Machine Gun in 1974, which reached #7 on the US R B charts. The Commodores would go on have more singles that topped the charts including Brick House , Just To Be Close To You , Too Hot Ta Trot , Endless Love , just to list a few. • 5. The Five Characteristics Of The Five Sources Of Power A leader has many important characteristics. One of these important characteristics is power. Without power, leaders would not be able to influence their followers to achieve their goals ethically. There are five main sources of power for leaders. The influence that leaders have using these sources could be either negative or positive. My Research to Answer the Question: In 1959 John French and Bertram Raven stated significant theories regarding the source of power in their article The Bases of Power and suggested that there are five sources of power. These sources are placed into Organizational Powers and Personal Powers. Organizational Power contains Legitimate, Coercive, and Reward power while Personal Power contains Expert and Referent power or Connections power (Merchant., n.d.). Raven then added another power source called Informational power six years later (Prescott, 2015). Other sources of power that are not part of the theory that French and Raven stated are Moral power and Political power. Legitimate power, also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The employee would oblige to the task in fear of facing the consequences of not doing it (Prescott, 2015). In order for this to happen, the followers must believe that the leader has the ability to what he or she is threatening to do (Leadership Power, n.d.). Thus, this power gives the leader control over behaviors and causes the employees to stick to the rules and guidelines of the organization but it could also cause the followers to be unhappy (Prescott, 2015). Culture at Enron Organizational culture is defined as a cognitive system of beliefs, attitudes, values, and behavioral norms that are shared by members of the organization. The documentary The Smartest Guys in the Room researched, chronicled, and explained the culture and collapse of Enron Corporation, an American energy, commodities, and services company. The organizational culture of Enron was extremely multifaceted and comprised of many aspects. According to Schein s three levels of organizational culture, such aspects were expressed by means of manifest articles such as heroes and language, which were linked to espoused organizational values, and then connected to basic assumptions about the company and what was deemed important there. Manifest artifacts are things that are characteristic of the organizational structure and processes. Espoused values are the standards that define and are defined by culture, and by which organization members judge what is good and desirable. Basic assumptions are the deepest level, which include the beliefs, perception, and emotions of organization members that are often not expressed and unconscious. This paper will analyze the links and connections between artifacts at Enron, the values and standards they expressed, and what can be assumed about the cultural beliefs, perceptions, thoughts, and feelings at Enron. • 7. Monologue In The Messenger Markus Zusak s, The Messenger features the protagonist Ed Kennedy, and how he completed each mission of aces; diamonds, clubs, spades and hearts. The suit of spades was symbolic to Ed s overall mission as Ed had to dig through truths about himself. Before the suit of spades Ed s thought of himself was that he was worth nothing, evident through the narration of Ed s monologue. The suit of spades saw Ed wanting more for his life, evident through the characterisation of Ed, the changes in his monologue. That if he wanted to be better, happy and loved he first would have to see himself in a happy, loved and better light. Each mission saw Ed bring something to someone else but spades was the final trial I need to dig myself out of (282). Therefore spades was symbolic as it saw Ed change his opinion on himself, recognising that he had to do something, if he wanted to be more than nothing. I d rather chase the sun than wait for it (306), and If I ever leave this place... I ll make sure I m better here first (307). Both these quotes show how Ed s mind frame has shifted from accepting that he was nobody to wanting to be something. The use of the pronoun I emphasises the fact that Ed accepts that he has to do it himself. It shows how Ed realises that he is the only that can do it, that he cannot rely on anyone else. This want for changing himself meant Ed s view on himself was not to scrutinise but rather realise. Realisation in that driving a cab and renting a fibro shack can t be the final answer of my life. (331). This want to change and realisation that he could do, sets up Ed to physically do something about it. The aim of the Ace of Spades, was to lay the foundation of realisation that if Ed wanted to change he would have to do it himself. That in order to become somebody to others, he would have to become somebody to himself. Other people only started to recognise how Ed s change, after the ace of spades, Now you re somebody ... On that fateful day, on the meadow called Runnymede along the River Thames, English barons confronted a tyrannical King John to demand that their list of grievances be addressed. In the 63 clauses of the esteemed Magna Carta, the barons were largely concerned with protecting themselves from unjust taxes and defending their rights and privileges. However, the Magna Carta accomplished so much more. It established for the first time the principle that the king is not above the law. By the 1600s, these colonists subjects of England had enjoyed political freedoms, such as trial by jury, largely unheard of elsewhere in the world. The Magna Carta, signed centuries before on the plains of Runnymede in 1215, had established the principle of limited government. That meant that the power of the king was not absolute. According to the principles of mercantilism, the colonies main function was to bolster the mother country, both economically and politically. The American colonies were set up as a source of raw materials for England. They were expected to export valuable commodities, such as cotton, lumber, tar, gold, and silver, among other things. They were regarded as English subjects and possessions of the mother country. Over time, the colonists, forced to straddle two worlds, both England and America, rebelled. Their primary source of anger and frustration was that they were being severely taxed without having a voice in Parliament. The And Disease Of The Roman Empire Throughout history the human race has been faced with one key factor that no one civilization has even been able to beat, not the might of the Roman Byzantine Empire, nor the combined efforts of the entirety of Europe and their scholars could defeat this recurring foe. Pandemics, from the Greek pan meaning all, and demos meaning people (Harper Etymonline.com), are these indiscriminate killers whom care not for your social standing be it wealth, fame, or glory. Humans have contested with disease ever since the infantile stages of the species, but the ability of it to spread was severely inhibited by the fact that humans stayed in small groups of 10 30 people at most, giving the virus or disease severely hampered virulence. It was not till humans began gathering in larger, more permanent settlements such as the early Classical cities of Athens, Ramses, and Rome, that the issue of sanitation and disease came into effect. This has not to say that our issues with sanitation and disease prevention have stopped, rather have they been brought forward into the limelight, many nations around the world today have issues with age old diseases and give rise to extremely deadly new viruses of their own. • 13. The Importance Of Japanese Culture And Society In societies across the world, religion has always had the ability to unite the people into communities through its rituals and celebrations. Japanese society is a major example of how people can join together as a community to celebrate their unique beliefs. However, this would then often raise the question of which came first; the close knit community who started the religion, or the religion that jumpstarted everything and brought people together. The truth of the matter is, if one were to look at Japanese culture and society, it is rather apparent that ancient religions such as Buddhism and Shinto form rituals and traditions which would then later shape the ceremonies that the community partake in. These ceremonies are essentially festivals that villages put together to show respect and acknowledgement for a certain religion or an important event. Festivals are done with the most dedication among everybody in a village or town, and it is this dedication that proves how important festivals are to the community. Essentially, the religion is the driving force behind a culture s communal bond, and it is the festivals such as the Kenka Matsuri, Namahage Matsuri, and the Gion Matsuri that are physical representation of this union. However, these religious festivals have proven to lose its religious background and tradition and start to converge into a celebration of the community itself. • 15. Demographics And Its Impact On Health And Health In my research, I discovered that population trends will dramatically impact healthcare. Simply put the more people who exists the more healthcare that is required. Population is not the only factor and other sub factors of population such as age, race, and ethnicity or demographics and they also have an impact on Healthcare. For example, the population of people in the U.S. over the age of 65 in 1950 was only 8.1% of the total population. The trend of that number is expected to rise to 20.2% by 2050. Geographic trends can assist healthcare professionals where to focus their educational efforts in terms of healthcare availability. Psychographics examines the consumer or the factors that motive them such as values, attitudes, beliefs, motions, interests, and personalities. Demographic trends can be used to target specific gender and ethnic groups from a healthcare perspective. An example of this targeted healthcare is research showed that males, both non Hispanic and Hispanic, in the Michigan area where disproportionately affected by cancer (Kodjebacheva, Blankenship, Hayman Jr, Parker, 2016). The application of this is by knowing this data and data similar to it, we will be able to have focused HealthCare to the demographics that statistically need it more than others. Relationship Between T Cell Regulation And Type I Diabetes Abstract The purpose of this study is to explore the relationships and mechanisms between T cell regulation and type I diabetes by using NOD mice model. NOD mice can spontaneously develop a form of autoimmune diabetes which is similar to human Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus. T cells can destroy beta cells of the pancreatic islets which can produce insulin. Thus, by analyzing the development of NOD mice autoimmune diabetes to determine potential treatment for type I diabetes. Introduction Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases. There are different kinds of diabetes mellitus, but an abnormal blood sugar level over an extended time always can be detected from patients who have this disease. Type one diabetes mellitus also known as insulin dependent diabetes, patients with this type of diabetes have pancreatic beta cells destruction causing absolute lack of insulin with a tendency to ketoacidosis. It can occur at any age, but more commonly occurs in young people. Patients with acute onset of metabolic disorders symptoms need insulin injections to survive. This type of diabetes including immune mediated and idiopathic two subtypes. Immune mediated diabetes often has one or more autoantibodies present, for example, islet cell antibodies (ICA), insulin autoantibodies (IAA) and glutamic acid decarboxylase 65 (GAD65) antibodies. In South Park, Cartman is frequently used as vessel for the show s creators to make fun of and criticize. However, Go God Go and Go God Go XII use Cartman in a different matter. All Cartman wants in these two episodes is the Nintendo Wii. His determination and impatience can be found humorous to the audience because it has landed him in such a silly situation. However, the show is using Cartman s quest so he can navigate through the conflict between the three different atheists groups. He paces in front of the store impatiently, which is funny because it is a repetition of when Cartman paced in front of the video game store in the previous episode. After Cartman steals the phone from a group of boys, he uses the device to call people in the past. Cartman s interactions on the phone involve different triangular relationships. The most humorous one is when Cartman calls his past self. In this situation there are two separate Cartman s interacting with each other, past Cartman and future Cartman. The triangle relationship is between past Cartman, future Cartman, and the audience. Essentially Cartman as a whole is being made fun of, but past Cartman s behavior is the main target of the joke. Even though future Cartman is trying to help his past self, past Cartman is too stubborn to listen. In that particular situation, future Cartman is actually being reasonable. However, both Cartmans are still being made fun of because the interaction between them demonstrates that Cartman is too stubborn to even listen to his future self. The situation is funny to the audience because Cartman is unknowingly being made fun ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is a debate that has been going on since it first began and how it is has affected the world has brought controversy as well. Mainly, this paper will be focusing on the economic growth that globalization has influenced. As the world is developing and has been over the past decades, certain countries have had a significant increase in economic growth but it is said that there are risks and effects of globalization. This paper will talk about how globalization effects developed countries and what countries need in order to benefit from it. As mentioned earlier, it is believed that globalization benefits world economies. This is because it can increase their standard of living, creates access to new markets, and even widens the wage gap, but there are some consequences as well. In the long term, there are many beneficial outcomes but short term, people may suffer, especially the poor. The poor will ultimately become poorer because there will be a decrease in employment. Globalization has often been thought to be the primary reason for income inequality within a nation. Take for example the United States of America. A growing number of American s believe that globalization is increasing the gap between the rich and poor, even depleting those who are already poor. Essentially, making the rich even richer, and the poor even poorer. A famous result due to Wolfgang Stolper and Paul Samuelson states that some groups will necessarily suffer long term losses in income from free trade (Rodrik 2011, 38). The technological advances take the jobs away from the people but make it easier for the country in the long run. A popular criticism of globalization is outsourcing. While outsourcing provides jobs to people in one country, it takes away those jobs from people of another country, leaving many without opportunities. The opposing side would point out that American consumers are able to benefit from lower prices which were made possible because of cheaper labor. Defending either side of this ... Thomas Aquinas was the seventh son of lower nobility. Thomas s parents hoped he would become a person with power and influence, so they sent him to Monte Cassino. Monte Cassino was one of the big, great and wealthy Benedictine monasteries. After the monastery, Thomas went to a University just founded in Naples and it was there that he became a fan of Aristotle s philosophy. Thomas then went against his family s wishes, and refused careers in military or politics, and became a friar for the Dominican order. Thomas Aquinas gives for proof of God s Existence is the Argument from Gradations of Perfection, or also known as Argument from The Hierarchy of beings. Among beings there are some more and some less good, true, noble and the like, which means that some are better or worse than others. But more and less are predicated of different things, according as they resemble in their different ways. Now the maximum in any genus is the cause of all in that genus; as fire, which is the maximum heat, is the cause of all hot things. there is something which is truest, something best, something noblest and, consequently, something which is uttermost being. This being is what we would call God. Therefore there must also be something which is to all beings the cause of their being, goodness, and every other perfection; and this we call God. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Heat Pump The above diagrams illustrates how easy it is to utilise the key components but to reverse the process i.e. to pump heat out rather than in, thus becoming an air conditioning unit (more correctly called a cooling unit). All the main components remain same with just the flow reversed (via the 4 way reversing valves) and some additional minor components (e.g. check valves and specific expansion valve). Simultaneous heating and cooling The Heat Pump can be designed and configured as a multi mode machine.  To generate only hot water from ambient air  To simultaneously generate hot water and cooling energy.  To generate only cooling for comfort Hotels and hospitals continuously need air conditioning, and therefore on a multimode ... Closed Loop: this is the most common form of Ground source system when buried. b. Open Loop: much less common than closed loop ground source (e.g. ground Aquifer; open lake, river or sea). This sort of unit designation would lead to better description and slightly less confusion. It also highlights that the key difference between water source heat pumps which work on closed and open loops in the ground is the temperature they work at rather than the medium itself (which is the same water). 3 Based on Motive / generating power input. A Historical Framework For The Contemporary Racial Of Mexico With the recent discovery of 1.38 million Afro Mexicans based on a population survey conducted in 2015, two central questions have emerged surrounding the presence of Mexicans with African ancestry in Mexico (Quartz). First, why were nearly 1.4 million Afro Mexicans not recognized in Mexico s population census by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography, which began data collection of Mexican citizens in 1983 (Colorlines)? Secondly, how has their lack of representation at the national level impacted them geographically? Throughout this paper, I will answer the aforementioned questions by establishing a historical framework for the contemporary racial ideologies in Mexico rooted in Spanish colonial legacies. By providing this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Additionally, I will outline the static nature of Afro Mexican identity through an analysis of the popular cartoon Memin Penguin. I will explain how this stagnant representation of Mexican blackness isolates the Costa Chica of Guerrero from other spaces in Mexico. I will conclude by addressing why this topic is significant to my scholarship as a student and what I hope further scholarly investigation will uncover. Before I unpack social racism in Mexico, it is important to distinguish two key points for reading this paper. First, I use the terms African or Africanness and black or blackness interchangeably to represent specifically Afro Mexicans in the Costa Chica of Guerrero who identify racially as black. Secondly, white is used to distinguish White Mexicans while mestizo[s] signifies racially mixed Mexicans with predominantly Spanish European and Indigenous Amerindian ancestry (Jerry). Mexico s Social Racism In order to understand how 1.38 million Afro Mexicans have remained hidden, I must first recount their origins in Mexico dating back to the Spanish colonial era. During the 16th and 17th century, 100,000 250,000 African slaves were forcibly transported to New Spain to work on the sugarcane plantations (Githiora). Most arrived at the Veracruz Port in South Central Mexico along the Gulf Coast in what is now known as the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For LGBT people, representation is a huge step forward for voices to be heard and for equality to become a reality and to have an openly bisexual woman in an influential leadership position, is important for the same reasons for the rest of the LGBT community, but also because of how few bisexuals are out of the closet. • 32. A Text That Lasts Forever Essay A Text That Lasts Forever Tuesday morning the 10th of May had begun as any normal work day in our household. Pam s alarm had gone off at the ungodly hour of five o clock in the morning and I had rolled over waiting for my alarm to sound at a more decent hour of six o clock. Then I would start my day. When we left for work that morning we had to stop and go back because Pam had forgotten her office keys. She never seems to forget her coffee but the keys are another story. The traffic was at a normal rush hour crawl as we headed south on Rufe Snow to make our way onto highway 121 towards Fort Worth and eventually to Texas Wesleyan University. On this particular morning the sun had not yet peeked over the horizon. However, the glow in the few floating clouds was announcing that summer was on its way and today was going to be a sunny, hot day in Texas. As we drove to work we were discussing meetings we each had for the day and the workload that awaited us upon our arrival. We talked about the not so important yet pressing matters such as what we would have for dinner and if our schedules would allow us to meet for lunch. We had turned onto East Lancaster and were headed east, less than a mile from work, when things began to change. Traffic was moving a little slower than the posted speed limit and the black truck in front of us made a dramatic jerk from the inside right to the left hand lane. I was about ready to make some derogatory remark about his driving when I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. A Brief Look at William Byrd While researching the style period the Renaissance, I came about the composer William Byrd. He played a large role in the paper I instructed and thus caught my attention. I chose William Bryd as the subject for this paper merely because according to The Top 8 Renaissance Composer Article by Aaron Green, he was considered by many to be a genius on the keyboard and perhaps the greatest English composer of all time. Other aspect about William Bryd I found interesting was his interact with Queen Elizabeth I and Thomas Tallis, and this major works like Latin motets or Cantiones Sacrae along with many more. William Byrd s early life is unknown; He is believed to have been born in London sometime between 1539 and 1545. The exact date is unclear. He was one of seven children. He had four sisters, Alice, Barbara, Mary, and Martha and two brothers, Simon and John. His parents were Thomas and Margery Byrd. There is no written record of William Byrd s education, however he was a well educated man, able to read and write very well in this time. William married in 1568 to a Juliana. They then had seven children and a lifelong happy marriage. He eventually after a strong career as a composer or chorister died on July 4th 1623 in a small village of Essex and was buried in an unmarked grave. William was a top composer in the Renaissance era and composed a large number of astounding musical pieces. Many believe that William Byrd outdid any other composers of his era and called him a ...
