My Life After Hate Analysis
Natalie Rangel 146 Hist 110 12:30 Fall semester 2014
The transformation of a racist skinhead My Life After Hate by Arno Michaels
My Life After Hate by Arno Michaels is a phenomenal book that portrays the journey of a
lost, rebellious teen into a guilty, respectful man. The story of Arno Michaels exemplifies a honest,
explicit story of transformation with the discovery of basic human goodness. In this biography,
readers are able to feel the emotions of what it takes to completely turn your life around from
racist skin head to loving father. Readers get a clear look into Arno s reflection of his dreadful past
with all the hateful and immoral crimes he committed. One can see that it was not an easy thing to

He was misguided about his life and the world around him, arno states I honestly believed that the
white race was facing genocide at the hands of the jews...I was prepared to be a mass murderer if
that s what I had to do to save my race (103) . His disoriented reality led him to do some
unbearable things but his endless drinking made him justify it and forget about it entirely. With
the help of an unimaginable amount of booze, he led a life filled with hate towards every one
with a different ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, etc and hanging around complete
jerks barely getting by in life. Everywhere he went, he found a fight to get into just to make a
point that he could omit fear and terrorize victims so he could feel powerful as a white man. He
believed he vocalized activism with signs that would say WHITE REVOLUTION IS THE
ONLY SOLUTION or think of the future of our white children (44); in his mind, he was
undefeatable and a blessing to society by trying to save them from a nation of diversity. Arno with
his group of skin head friends used violence and anger to emphasize their strong willed opinions
and beliefs, until his daughter was born and that part of his life soon began to

Plain Gifford Research Paper
Plain Gifford, a Hall of Fame football player for the New York Giants and an unbelievable
supporter, kicked the bucket Sunday at his Connecticut home of characteristic causes, his family
declared. He was only seven days short of his 85th birthday. Gifford is made due, among others,
by his wife, TV character Kathy Lee Gifford. His family said in an announcement: We celebrate
in the phenomenal life he was favored to live, and we feel thankful and favored to have been
cherished by such an astounding person. Gifford was a No. 1 draft pick by the Giants in 1952
and appreciated a flexible vocation with New York, playing both offense and protection. He was

Straight to the point s ability and charm on the field and reporting in real time were vital
components in the development and notoriety of the cutting edge NFL. In spite of the fact that
Gifford was the centerpiece of a Giants offense that went to five NFL title amusements in the
1950s and 60s, he encountered highs and lows as a NFL player. Gifford bungled twice ahead of
schedule in the 1958 NFL title diversion, both of which prompted Baltimore Colts touchdowns,
and later missed the mark on a basic third down. The Colts inevitably won 23 17 in the alliance s
first additional time diversion. The exciting completion helped promote the NFL and was named

Framing Effect Theory
There are many gaps that need to be filled in order for my research question to be answered; most
surrounding a lack of research circulated in the scholarly sphere surrounding my topic and an
overall lack of diversity and detail in the studies that correlate to my topic area. It is beneficial to
look at the sexual health sciences aspect of this area of femalesexual behavior, but this topic has not
explicitly been addressed through media. When trying to understand the negative reception

The Government As An Intermediate Agency
The government is an intermediate agency which has the main, though by no means the exclusive,
responsibility for society s adherence to the principles which favour increased autonomy and
respect for people s choices.
When one thinks about the work of governments throughout history, they look like extremely
obnoxious, or at least dangerous, artefacts, for which the need, and, consequently, the conditions
and limits, require moral justification. The mere fact that the government prescribes something to
us does not morally justify our doing it (though it may prudentially justify it, and therefore, in
some cases it may morally excuse it). The decision to obey a government must be an autonomous
one one that, like any decision which can affect other people, we should justify on the basis of a
freely accepted moral principle. But if this is so, to what extent are we really obeying the
government and not simply governing ourselves? And if the moral person always governs himself,
what, for him, is the moral relevance of having a government (besides solving co ordination
problems or altering the factual setting)?
The era of wars and terrorism was followed by segregation, racial sub ordination, and complacence.
One report written by senior civil servants in 1934 for the Department of Health actually suggested
that the eugenics policies of the Nazi Germany should be adopted in the UK. In 1927 Westminster

Exploring Post-Secondary School Research
Research Question:
How students choose a post secondary school?
Review of Literature:
Many factors influence the choosing of a post secondary school. Students could choose one close
to where they live, one with a respectable reputation in the major they prefer or a large school
instead a smaller. All of these factors can be important, but depending on your preferences, some
may be more significant than others may. It is important to define what is important and what is
not, in other words, the priorities that could make the difference between a good and a bad choice.
In addition, the metric used to measure these priorities has to be focused on the objective that every
student need to analyze before to start his academic path. There are different theories and data on
how students made this selection. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the 75% of graduate affirm that personal interests influenced their choice while only 65%
confirm that the future employment opportunities made the same. For example, reputation is
greatly important to around half of the students. Meanwhile, proximity to home, parents and friends
environment matter much less.
Kelly (2016) does another analysis on a special of The Globe and Mail; she states students select
their universities for many distinct reasons. Therefore, some students may be cost sensitive, while
others may only care about quality of institutions. For this year s Canadian University Report, she
collects data from universities, professors and, most importantly, hundreds of students. Moreover,
the author searched for public data sources, such as information and surveys by Statistics

Comparing The Bluest Eye And Lamar s Black Is Beautiful
Black Is Beautiful is a cultural movement that was created by African American communities in the
United States. The fight for equal rights and more positive views on African Americans started in
the 1960s when society would make negative judgments on them since the media believed that
African Americans were only good for being slaves. The novel The Bluest Eye (1970) by Toni
Morrison and the album To Pimp A Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar both show oppression through
institutionalized racism. The idea of Black Is Beautiful is influenced through Morrison s novel and
Lamar s album by using the themes of low self esteem / self hate and judgment beyond skin color.
One of the main themes in the novel The Bluest Eye is low self esteem / self hate. The author
reveals this theme through the character s actions and word choice. In The Bluest Eye, the
author reveals how Claudia feels about herself by explaining what she did to the blue eyed doll.
She says, I fingered the face, wondering at the single stroke eyebrows... I could not love it. But I
could examine it to see what it was that all the world said was lovable (Morrison 21). Another way

different from him. After he learns about colored people and niggers , he starts to feel more
superior than them which lead to him becoming hateful towards these children. Lamar also
mentions this in his song Complexion by explaining that it does not matter whether you are light,

Spotted Touch-Brown Flowers
Spotted touch me not has an unmistakable, bright orange color. There are red brown speckles
throughout the flower. The shape of the flower is interesting as well. It is similar to the shape of a
cornucopia, which is composed of 3 unequal sepals and 5 petals (appearing as 3). These unique
flowers hang off their balances from a slender stem. The flowers attract animal species such as
hummingbirds, who suck the nectar out of the plant.
The stem seems watery, and when picked the entire plant will wilt quickly. There are multiple
branches per plant. Because of this, and the fact that the plant can grow up to 5 feet high, it can
have a bush like appearance. The stem is so watery because this plant tends to grow in moist areas,
such as along streambanks.

Mr. Keating Exposed In Dead Poet s Society
Throughout the movie, Dead Poets Society, written by Tom Schuman, Mr. keating tries to teach his
students to think for themselves instead of following the tracts of other people. As he taught the
class, he would allow the kids to do exercises that normal professors would consider ridiculous. As
he begins he teaches kids that poetryis something from the heart and the brain and should not be
taught out of a textbook, therefore ripping out pages that he found were too strict on teaching
poetry. As for teaching kids to think on their own, Mr. Keating provided ideas for the boys and
always supported them on what they wanted to do but never was present in these situations. Neil,

ABSTRACT
The focus of this study was to examine activity based costing from the perspective of competitive
advantage. ABC can support the strategic management process and provide significant benefit to
organizations. This examination utilized the contingency theory as a theoretical basis for the study.
Descriptive survey design was adopted. The data gathering instrument employed for this study is a
structured questionnaire. Data are analyzed through SPSS version 16. Reliability analysis using
Cronbach s alpha value was applied on data collected. Factor analysis was employed using
principal component method followed by Varimax with Kaiser Normalization, to find the factors or
dimensions that explain variances by the data set. The factor analysis is based on four dimensions,
namely, overall performance, strategic cost allocation method, increased efficiency and increased
effectiveness having the factor loadings of over В±0.3. The regression results are positive and
significant at the 5% level. Findings reveal that there is no statistically significant difference in cost
reduction attained by ABC over Traditional costing, though ABC tended to have higher effect.

Descriptive Essay On Car
To start off a car defines a person very well, it shows personal interests, values, and obviously
how much money they are willing to spend on transportation. Also my personal career will
definitely contain some greasy fun work preferably Diesel Technician. One of my first few
memories with cars is me just playing with toys when I was very little. By the time I was five or
six my parents had given me a miniature truck I could drive around the block and yard. Not long
after that I got into bikes. Within a couple of months I had a fleet of bikes ranging, from a bike
from the nineteen forties to a newer chopper styled bike. As soon as I turned fourteen I got a real
job. Before I could afford a vehicle I drove around and constantly fixed my grandpa s junk truck.
One bad thing is that his truck belonged in the junkyard. It leaked gas, oil, and transmission fluid
after three months of driving it and it went straight to the junkyard. Then a couple months later at
fifteen, I had already bought my own small truck. This was quite the step up this one only leaked
oil, but it was very slow. Going from zero to sixty mph took about twenty five seconds. This is
when I got myself a nice car that was fast, comfortable, and didn t leak anything. That car was a
ninety six Lincoln Town Car, but the car has over two hundred twenty thousand miles on it. After
putting ten thousand miles on it in seven months it went to the junkyard. Now comes the nicest,
most reliable, and smallest car that I

Character Analysis on Nunnally Johnson in The Grape of Wrath
The Grape of Wrath is one of the best known representations of the depression and the things that
people went through. It focuses on the Joad family, a small family that is forced out of their
home. Because of the large family they have with them, they have to head west in hopes of finding
jobs. After a long difficult journey, the finally reach California after finding a bill looking for
workers. They go through many different trials while the men try to find jobs, and the son, Tom
Joad is haunted by the past he thought that he left behind. All of the characters are very well
developed and they all have pros and cons. The best character in Grapes of Wrath, by Nunnally
Johnson, is Ma Joad because she is strong, kind, and determined. Ma Joad is the best character in
Grapes, by Johnson, because she is strong. The scene that Ma shows most how strong she is is
when she and Tom say goodbye. Tom has to leave because his past is haunting him and he is
terrified of getting his familyin trouble or hurt. The night he leaves, he tries to sneak out without
saying goodbye to anyone, but he accidentally wakes up Ma. They go outside and talk. Ma is
crying and hugging him but admits that she always knew that he would have to leave. Tom and
Ma are really close through the whole movie, so it is one of the hardest things ever for her to just
let him leave. She shows her strength by letting him go because she knows that it is the best thing
for him and the family. She understands that having

Charlestown Dbq
How was Charlestown hard to settle ? Did you know that from 1670 to 1783, the city was
known as Charlestown ? At the end of the American Revolution in 1783, the name was
shortened to Charleston as we know today. Different tribes lived in the area before the English
arrived. The English choose to settle there for plantation. The word settle is to adapt a more
steady or secure style of life, especially in a permanent job and home. Charlestown was difficult
to settle because of the geography , resources and disease. According to a map in Doc A , it s not
trustworthy because it says In every particular copied with a pen from old plat of Charles Town

It could also be a disadvantage because flooding may occur. Flat land would be an advantage to
the Carolina settlers as well because it ll be easier for them to grow crops and it ll be easier to
travel. It made Indians also easier to build , have an access to travel and grow crops too. Another
difficulty was the resources in Charlestown for the settlers. It was a struggle to settle there
because a lot of animals and some soil weren t good. The soil wasn t good in some places
because the soil was to sandy and it was burthen d with Iron stone. Although there were places
that didn t have good soil , there were natural lawns and some of them as beautiful as those made
by art. There were species that inhabited Carolina at the time it was being founded. Panthers ,
Tigers , Wolves and other beasts of prey lurked around in Charlestown. A disease made
Charlestown hard to settle there as well. The disease is called Small Pox . Small Pox is a virus
that is contagious, disfiguring, and often deadly. It can be spread by blood products (unclean
needles or unscreened blood) , airborne respiratory droplets (coughs or sneezes) , skin to skin
contact (handshakes or hugs) and saliva (kissing or shared drinks). This disease was spreading
rapidly throughout the town. Many settlers were dying and putting a stop to all

Empathy Is Extremely Important For Children
Empathy is extraordinarily important for children to understand and eventually put into practice,
as it exercises their ability to feel and respect the emotions of other people. Empathy also plays a
big role in trust and support both of which are very important aspects of any relationship, and is
necessary for living a healthy, functional life in today s society. In her article, Dovey describes A
2011 study published in the Annual Review of Psychology [...] showed that, when people read
about an experience, they display stimulation within the same neurological regions as when they go
through that experience themselves. (Dovey par. 11). This means that when people, or in this case,
children, read stories, their brains react as if they were going through the same situations and
emotions that they read about. This is a great way for kids to learn about empathy, why it s
important, and how to apply it to their own lives. One may argue that, while readingmay trigger
empathetic feelings in the majority of people, those who enjoy readinghave greater empathetic
tendencies than others, making reading to teach empathy only applicable to those who like to read
and have these higher than average tendencies. Dovey also addresses this, stating that other studies
published in 2006 and 2009 showed [...] that people who read a lot of fiction [tended] to be better at
empathizing with others (even after the researchers had accounted for the potential bias that people

Analysis Of Shane Koyczan And Many Artists
To this day is a spoken word poem and video illustration by Shane Koyczan and many artists. It
was created in 2013 with the purpose of effectively spreading the convincing message that
bullying is a real and serious thing that is too often dismissed as normal and not acted upon as
the serious thing it is. 2013 was shortly after the new large push against bullying which is likely
one large reason as to the creation and popularity of this work. However even with the anti
bullying movement it would not have become popular if it was not in itself an effective piece at
conveying its own point against bullying and contributing to the cause. Koyczan made his piece so
successful by successfully using ethosand pathosto make hard hitting grounded points to his
purpose. He also used small amounts of logos but it was not a majorly effective part of his piece.
Ethos is the way the writer creates a persona that allows the audienceto see them as trustworthy,
relatable, knowledgeable, and as someone with authority. Then uses these to convince an
audience of their point. This is use of ethos effectively done in the creation of koyczan s poem to
this day . He shows his reliability and knowledge to the viewer by showing them that he has
personal experience with the main topic. He tells the story of his pain when he was bullied and
how simple name calling left lasting effects on him personally. This not only lets the viewer see
that he has a reliable viewpoint, it shows that he has

decisions he made. Why didn t he submit his life to the wild instead of continuing to law school
and build a life for himself ? His feelings towards his friends and familyare also reemphasized.

Different Types of Fact Tables
Dimension
A dimension table typically has two types of columns, primary keys to fact tables and
textualdescreptive data.
Fact A fact table typically has two types of columns, foreign keys to dimension tables and measures
those that contain numeric facts. A fact table can contain fact s data on detail or aggregated level.
Types of Dimensions
Slowly Changing Dimensions: Attributes of a dimension that would undergo changes over time. It
depends on the business requirement whether particular attribute history of changes should be
preserved in the data warehouse. This is called a Slowly Changing Attribute and a dimension
containing such an attribute is called a Slowly Changing Dimension. Rapidly Changing Dimensions:

Non Additive:
Non additive facts are facts that cannot be summed up for any of the dimensions present in the fact
table.Eg: Facts which have percentages, ratios calculated. Factless Fact Table: In the real world, it
is possible to have a fact table that contains no measures or facts. These tables are called Factless
Fact tables .
Eg: A fact table which has only product key and date key is a factless fact. There are no measures
in this table. But still you can get the number products sold over a period of time.
Based on the above classifications, fact tables are categorized into two:
Cumulative:
This type of fact table describes what has happened over a period of time. For example, this fact
table may describe the total sales by product by store by day. The facts for this type of fact tables
are mostly additive facts. The first example presented here is a cumulative fact table.
Snapshot:
This type of fact table describes the state of things in a particular instance of time, and usually
includes more semi additive and non additive facts. The second example presented here is a
snapshot fact table.

Abstract
The abstract clearly and effectively summarizes the research report. It was logically organized into a
background, methods, results, and conclusion section and was very useful in helping me decide
whether or not this article would be useful in answering my clinical question. This section clearly
identifies that the population being studied is the operating room staff which is relevant to my

The report does include an introduction section although it is not clearly identified with a bold

states the relevance of the research question and its importance in nursing. The majority of the

The Survival Of Man Depends On The Early Construction Of...
IntroductionThe survival of man depends on the early construction of an ultraintelligent machine
(Good, 1965). As early as the 1960s renowned scientists such as Good and Neumann theorized of
an intelligence explosion, now known as the technology singularity, resulting from intelligent
machines designing their next generation without human intervention. This idea of artificial
intelligence (AI) has grown immensely and is a common topic amongst scholars, scientists, and
theorists in the mathematic and scientific world. The key idea underlying the impending
Singularity is that the pace of change of our human created technology is accelerating and its
powers are expanding at an exponential pace. Exponential growth is deceptive. It starts out
almost imperceptibly and then explodes with unexpected fury unexpected, that is, if one does not
take care to follow its trajectory (Kurzweil, 8, 2005). Ray Kurzweil a scientist, inventor, author,
and current director of engineering at Google is the leading theorist of the Singularity. So what is
the singularity you ask? Most simply put Kurzweil defines it as, a future period during which the
pace of technological change will be so rapid, its impact so deep, that human life will be
irreversibly transformed (Kurzweil, 2005, 7). Currently we are in the early stages of the transition.
The acceleration of the paradigm shift (the rate at which we change fundamental technical
approached) as well as the exponential growth of

Love This Time
I m Really in Love This Time
I don t know if this is going to be it for me, but it sure feels like it. I ve never felt this way about
anyone before. I constantly have butterflies around this man. I know for a fact, I am truly in love

time. I always thought he was pretty darn handsome and when I was around him I d get

Finally, the night of June 20, 2014, we were sitting in my living room on the floor, watching a
movie. He looked over at me and asked me to be his girlfriend, and I shyly of course said yes! We
have now been together for a little over three years. It hasn t been the easiest considering he is in
college, while I am still in high school. Being in a long distance relationship can really suck at
times, but it is not impossible when a love like ours exist. One of our favorite memories together
is when Isaac took me to OKC to the ice skating rink in Brick Town. We had endless laughter and
smiles this day. It was easy for me to get the hang of ice skating, but not so much for Isaac. At one
point I was recording him and he was about to fall. He had the scariest look on his face, it was the
funniest thing ever! He ended up not falling though.
Isaac is the greatest person to come into my life. He always supports me and encourages me in
everything I do. He cares for me and makes me smile more than anyone has before. He brings
true happiness into my life. We choose to love each other, even in the moments when we struggle
to like each other. Love is a commitment, not a feeling. Love is being devoted to one another.

10 12centimetres long when it becomes mature. The long tail (13 16 centimetres) is prehensile;
it can be curled up to grasp branches of shrubs or carry nesting material. The Burramys weight
varies during the course of the year but averages 35 40 grams. () Bogong moths are a vital food

The boulder fields support Mountain Plum pine, podocarpus lawrencei heathland and provide
shelter for Bogong moths which are a vital food source for Burramys. Podocarpus, the
characteristic plant of Burramys habitat, is the only conifer in the alpine and subalpine areas of
mainland Australia. This habitat suits Burramys in several ways. The rocks and the spaces
between them provide shelter, protection from predators and abundant nesting sites. Seeds and
fruits from the vegetation and a diverse and abundant invertebrate fauna provide plentiful food
resource. According to the research , the alpine and subalpine region from 1200metre to 2228metre
above sea level is suitable for these environmental factors.() Due to the fact that Australia has
limited alpine and subalpine region, Burramys are distributed in Victoria and New South Wales
which seldom states that have alpine and subalpine region in Australia. The Burramys are
especially distributed at Mount Higginbotham and Mount Buller in Victoria, and Kosciuszko
National Park in New South Wales. The total population size is estimated to be less than 2600
adults. Therefore, Burramys are listed as endangered in New South Wales and listed as threatened

Similarities Between Omelas And The Lottery
In the fictional short stories The lottery and The ones who walk away from Omelas the authors
convey that sacrifice is the true key to happiness, prosperity, and livelihood, but both authors hold
different views on how these goals are achieved. In both stories the authors show different types of
sacrifice and how it helps hold together a Utopian society. In Omelas it describes a beautiful town
and how everything is perfect, it talks about how there is a festival and lights with bells and
singing, decorated with silver and gold streamers. From that description it makes this town
sound like a year round party that never ends, but this whole party is depending on the suffering
of a small child. It could be a boy or a girl. It looks about six, but actually is nearly 10. It is feeble
minded. Perhaps it was born defective, or perhaps it has become imbecile through fear,
malnutrition, and neglect. It picks its nose and occasionally fumbles vaguely with its toes or
genitals... (3). In The Lotterythe society seems kind of gloomy, but all the people seem to be in a
good mood at the time. The whole town gathers around a stage to... Show more content on

News Coverage of September 11th, 2001 Essay
The attack that occurred on September 11th, 2001 on the World Trade Center in New York City
is an event that lingers in the minds of many Americans and other people throughout the world.
Most people can recall exactly where they were and whom they were with when they first heard
about the airplanes crashing into the towers. It was a day that changed the way people looked at
the world and brought to light the realities that even the wealthiest and most military advanced
country was not safe from acts of terrorism. The dangers posed by religious extremist were being

Leadership Style Of A Leader Essay
Each individual possesses a certain capacity for leadership. Whether is is learned or innate,
communication skills are a key factor in how a leader is perceived and followed. An individual s
leadership style is comprised of several factors within the workplace environment and the
individuals that comprise it.Some theories debate whether leadershipremains the same no matter the
circumstance, where others maintain that individuals might use others to gain leadership for noble
means. Regardless of the charisma or communication an individual uses in their leadership style,
each person should follow the example of Christ to become a respectable, caring, and honorable
role model of love and generosity.

How Leaders Lead Almost every single day an individual has an opportunity to be a leader.
Whether it be leading a political party, an office project group, or simply leading by setting an
example, all leaders have their own approach and individual style. Not every form or style of
leadership is appropriate for every situation. How we choose to implement our leadership style and
translate it to the situation will dictate the effectiveness of our leadership.

Analysis Of The Film Blind Faith
The film Blind Faith took place on July 5, 1957 in New York. In the film, black lawyer John
Williams has to represent his nephew Charlie, who has been accused of killing a white boy in
the park. Charlie was a senior in high school and had a bright future ahead of him. His father is a
police officer and is extremely hard on him. So when Charlie was accused of this crime his
father was embarrassed. When John, and Charlie s father arrived at the police station, Charlie
was beaten so badly that his eyes were swollen shut, and they were told Charlie had confessed to
the murder. He was appointed a representor from the jail before his family arrived, and had
already signed a written confession. So, to the investigators the case was open and shut. John
was not letting Charlie go down without uncovering the truth. John had a hard time finding
evidence to prove Charlie s innocence until one of his interns picked up the wrong files from the
police station. The files that were collected revealed a black boy had also been murdered in the
same park that day. The murder was kept quiet because it would have told Charlie s secret and
ruined his dad s reputation but John wanted to know the truth. The other boy who was killed was
Charlie s lover, David. When the secret was out Charlie told his lawyer everything. The truth was,
Charlie and David were caught kissing at the park by the group of white boys. They tried to run but

The Stages Of Cognitive Developmental Theory
Piagets stage theory is also known as the cognitive developmental theory. Constructivist
perspective. No matter the name Piaget believed that children benefit most from concrete
experiences or hands on activities that allow the student to manipulate his or her environment in
order to build knowledge based on interactions with the universe.(Mohammad,2012) Piaget
believed knowledge is acquired in a set of stages. There is 4 stages that knowledge is obtained.
The first stage Sensorimotor occurs approximately between the age of two. Children at this
stage develop the idea of Object Permanence. The idea that an object exists even though they can
t see it. In this step children also acquire the ability of reflexes. In stage two Preoperational stage
begins. This usually happens between the age of 2 7. Children of this age bracket are egocentric
and are dominated by perception. (ch.2.4) They believe that the world exists from their view
point. They understand concrete present day stuff but no understanding of abstract. 7 11 yrs enter
the Concrete Operational stage. The logical stage. Children are able to se different viewpoints.
There also good at understanding basic math, and classify objects by more than one characteristic.
(a yellow duck can go in yellow category and the duck category.) The last stage is known as the
Formal Operational Stage. When a child is a 11 years or older they are finally understanding the
concept of abstract thinking. Children

players for the Lakers. Aside from experience, his production of 22.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, and
3.1 assists will surely boost their offense. But who will they offer as trade pieces for Melo?
According to CBSSports, the Los Angeles Lakers could throw in a package of guard Jordan

The Age Of The Earth
Many Christians believe that the age of the earth is a side issue, of non doctrinal importance, that
one can believe in an old or young universe. The Christian apologist William Lang Craig believes
that it hurts Christianity when Christians hold to a young earth position (Craig holds to a local
flood as many other Christian apologist and Christian). The reason they give is that it is not
scientifically possible, others have posited that it hurts the gospel message. Others have said young
earthbelievers unwittingly damage Christianity s credibility. This is nothing more than arrogance,
an ego built on trying to puff oneself up, in the philosophy naturalism. In fact, many evangelicals
have started to believe in evolution, given that they believe in billions of years. I believe it hurts
the church to believe in what secular science has to say about past events, since they view the
world through a different set of glasses glasses blind to truth and God.
A global food is essential in explaining the data we have across the world in the sedimentary rock
forms. The global Flood explains why many animals in the past record were buried rapidly in death
throe positions. Old age believers must explain the fact that the moon is moving further away from
earth, hence at one time the moon was in close proximity to the earth, if billions years are true.
Thus, the old age believer remains in neutrality with the atheistic naturalism. Old earth opponents

community and identity in the South to have a black woman step out of place, and Jason feels

Even though Mrs. Compson treats her poorly, she still looks out for her. I believe that at this time

Time, Work-Discipline And Industrial Capitalism
In E.P. Thompson s essay Time, Work Discipline, and Industrial Capitalism , he argues how the
rise of standardized time, which coincided with employed labor and capitalism, changed how
people view time from how time passes to time spent . Time became a commodity in which it could
be bought and sold. Timethat was not spent properly was considered wasted, which Thompson calls
time thrift, which preindustrial societies were not very preoccupied with in comparison. Thompson
explores this transition of the sense of time in relationship to the Industrial Revolution, benefits and
disadvantages to the new time discipline, and a possible mixture of the old and new time
disciplines in the future.
Thompson starts out describing how people measured time before clocks and the Industrial
Revolution. People measured time in units of domestic activities or natural phenomena, which can
be described as task orientation. Thompson considers this type of time measuring to be natural and
believes that a task oriented society results in little distinction between work and life. However, to
people used to timed labor, such an attitude to labor appeared to be wasteful.
When employed labor is involved, productivity in terms of time becomes important, because the
employer generally pays the worker in terms of time. For many jobs, then a shift from task
orientation to timed labor occurs, as the laborer s time becomes the employer s money. Thus, a
separation between work and leisure occurs, as

DescartesMeditations, To What Extent Are We Able To...
With reference to Descartes Meditations , to what extent are we able to distinguish between reality
and illusion?
Meditations outlines Descartes method of justifying, through reasoning alone, his initial beliefs
concerning the existence of reality as he perceives it. This challenge of scepticism is itself
achieved through adopting a temporary sceptical approach in meditations 1 and 2. By way of
mental deconstruction and evaluation of all that he had previously considered true, Descartes is left
with only the elements that he is able to ascertain are certain and indubitable . He first asserts our
apparent inability to distrust our senses in distinguishing reality from illusion. This process forms

In the first meditation, through providing three arguments (waves) as to the nature of our inability
to distinguish reality from illusion, Descartes makes a convincing argument as to why we would,
prior to his reasoned proof of existence of God, disregard all a posteriroi knowledge as a viable
source of information abou the world. In the first wave Descartes questions the legitammacy of the
information provided by the senses. He provides the example of the way in which our sense of
perspective funtions, stating senses occasionally decieve us about things that are veru small or
very far away , to call into question that which we so often rely on to provide us with an accurate
account of reality . Descartes method demands that if reason is to doubt a foundation then all
knowledge based on that foundation should be rejected; of the senses he articulates having
occcasionlly found that they decieved [him] following with the statement that it is prudent never to
trust those who have decieved us . In this way Descartes is seeking to undermine empiricism, his

The framers did not want the government to have control thus federalism was created. Federalism is
the sharing of power between national and state governments. In their attempt to balance order with
liberty, the Founders identified several reasons for creating federalist government: to control
conflict, to allow citizens rights and responsibilities, and the distribution of resources (Synnott).
There were some who were against federalism, they believed the state should have the right to

states. Federalism today differs from federalism created by the founding fathers. The national
government has become too powerful but more and more state governments are taking their power
back. Today people still argue about which laws should be federal and which should be for states.
When the national government creates a law not all states agree with that law therefore they

The Hero s Journey In Literature
Throughout our lifetime, we are each tested and challenged in different ways, with an abundance
of these scenarios presenting a hero someone who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding
achievements; or noble qualities. This hero goes through the hero cycle; a series of events that
describes the heros journey and their experience. Some examples of the hero cycle include the call
to adventure, the approach of the challenge, and the reward. The hero cycle is important in
literature because it allows the story to flow cohesively and thus be able to be followed and

12 the result is 16 and divided by 2 is 8. The 2nd platform is 6 feet and the 4rth platform is 10
feet When added together and divided by 2 to get the average we get 8. The platform is the
average number, which is 8. I saw this and put it into a formula. I took the height of the first
platform and added it to the last platform, and substituted it for the variables f+l (where l=the
height of the last platform). Then I took the total number of platforms and divided it by 2 to get the
average, and multiplied it by the average of both platforms to get the total height of all of the
platforms. This resulting number is the total length required in square feet of fabric to cover the
fronts of the platforms.
I got the formula (x/2)

Essay on Homosexuality and the American Baptist Church
Homosexuality in the Baptist Church:
Homosexuality is one of the most debated issues among Christians today, regardless of the
denomination of their church. Some churches view homosexuality as a sin and have no tolerance
for it, while other denominations are more accepting and consider it a non sin. Even though some
denominations have taken a stand on homosexuality, there seems to much discord within the
governing bodies of the churches regarding this issue. It has moved from a topic rarely discussed
and considered very personal and private, to a mainstream topic of conversation.
Although there has been a growing acceptance among certain Christian denominations regarding
homosexuals, the American Baptist Church has remained firm in its ... Show more content on

They also established a Commission on Human Sexuality Resources to provide clarification and
guidance for a Christian understanding of God s gift of sexuality.
By June of 1992 the General Board of the American Baptist Church was being pressured by some of
their member churches to accept the practice of homosexuality within their denomination. A
resolution called Homosexuality and the Church , which identified Gods plan for the fulfillment of
sexual union to be one man and one woman in heterosexual, monogamous, and lifelong marriage,
was narrowly defeated. The resolution further stated that the redeeming love of Christ is available
to practicing homosexuals as it is to all who turn to him in faith and repentance.
Then a few months later, in October 1992, the General Board was again approached and was forced
to vote regarding the issues of homosexuality in their church. They finally agreed to issue a one
sentence standing that was called American Baptist Resolution on Homosexuality . The sentence
briefly stated We affirm that the practice of homosexuality is incompatible with Christian teaching.
This started the ball rolling and in June of 1993 the General Board next came up with another
resolution that was called American Baptist Resolution Calling for Dialogue on Human Sexuality .
That resolution states that there exists a variety of understandings throughout our denomination on
issues of human sexuality

Examples Of Heroism In Antigone
Acts of heroism can be displayed in many different ways. In the play, Antigone, written by
Sophocles, the main character Antigone fought for what she believed in standing up against
state law set by the King. The Mother from 4 Maccabees also showed strength and virtue by
having to watch all of her seven sons be tortured and die right before her eyes. As being women
in a society where they are viewed as less equal to men, characters, Antigone and the Mother
from 4 Maccabees did not let male authoritarian rule get in the way of displaying valorous acts by
sticking to their moral beliefs. The author of 4 Maccabees wrote a story in the Bible to display
how piety and reason overcame passion. The author states, For reason does not overcome its... Show

Antigone s brother, Polyneices was declared to be a traitor, according to King Kreon, against his
own country known as Thebes. For such actions King Kreon refused to let Polyneices have a
proper burial and would kill anyone who tried to give him one, which outraged Antigone.
Antigone could not let someone whose blood related to her not have a proper burial so she tries
to get her sister, Ismene to help her. Ismene replies, We must remember, first, that we two are by
nature women and not fit to fight with men; second, that we are ruled by others stronger than
ourselves, and so must bow to this and even greater griefs (Sophocles lines 61 64). Antigone being
as passionate as she is ignores her sister s fearfulness of the possible consequences and says to
her, I shall bury him. To me it s fine to die performing such a deed. I ll lie there, dear to him, with
my dear friend, when I ve performed this crime of piety; for I must please those down below a
longer time than those up here, since I shall lie there always (Sophocles lines 72 76). Antigone
prefers to be dead with her brother who she loves very much than to be alive and not have him
have a proper burial. She believes that by committing such a crime it is pure and will be
vindicated by the Gods. Since Antigone is a woman it puts all the more pressure on Kreon to
stick to his orders because of the limitations of freedom set on Greek woman in the ancient
world. Her rebellious actions are out of line with her place in society as being a woman, which
disrupts the gender roles and Kings position over the people in the community. By not abiding by
the rules set by King Kreon she rises up against tyranny not only to expose her unique qualities of
individualism, but also to reach out to the other people in her community who haven t stood up
against the King and fought for what they believed to be

used for cooking (not so much), lighting, and warmth. The previous fireplaces were more likely
to cause a fire. So Ben and his friend , Robert were going to make an invention that wouldn t cause
a fire. Also he wanted to lower the cost for everyone to buy it. Governor Thomas tried to get

Benjamin designed his fireplace so that the heat would go out into the rooms. This solved one of
the main problems for people and why he wanted to invent it. It was first called an airbox.
Governor Thomas wanted to patent this for the sole right but Benjamin denied him. It was made of
tin from the ground so it was not as easily burned as the previous materials used. In addition to
heat, Benjamin thought it would be good to use for cooking as well. It would been good for
cooking , but it didn t work. The stove sold poorly. The problem was the siphon . The smoke
would go through the cold flue before it could enter the chimney. It didn t have have a good draft.
It was cooling to much, the air was cold. Someone solves that problem. David Rittenhouse helped
with the problems and the Franklin stove became

The Influence of Rationalism on the French Revolution
Ben Jorgensen
Professor Wakefield
English 5
3 April 2013
The Influence of Rationalism on the French Revolution What was the driving force behind the
French Revolution? Many people may say it was financial, or political, and while I would agree
that these things were part of the force that propelled the French Revolution, I would assert that the
philosophies of the Enlightenment were the dominant force that blasted late eighteenth century
France into revolution . In his article, The French Revolution: Ideas and Ideologies Maurice
Cranston of History Today articulates that the Enlightenment philosophies were pivotal in the
revolutions inception. He writes that:
The philosophes undoubtedly provided the ideas.
Cranston goes on to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The King shared his powers with nobody, and was answerable for its exercise to nobody but God.
(21)
The ancien regime government lacked reason, but was bursting with more than its fair share of
divine laws and rights that the creator had set in place in order to insure social stability. In fact, as
Doyle points out in his book, this concept that God had set forth a divine law to be followed was
directly stated in a document that parliament wrote:
This social order is not only essential to the practice of every sound government: it has its origin in
divine law. (24)
The document goes on to say that:
The infinite and immutable wisdom in the plan of the universe established an unequal distribution
of strength and character, necessarily resulting in inequality in the conditions of men within the
civil order... (24)
This document summed up the ancien regimes ideology: God has placed the king the clergy, and
aristocracy above the common people and that is how it is, because that is how it has been. The
words irrational, divine, and superstitious come up many times when describing the ancien regimes
government and society; in fact, these things were actually integral to the maintenance of
government and society in France during the ancien regime. Indeed, you could not have this form
of government without divine law, irrational organization, and superstitious beliefs.

  • 5. The Government As An Intermediate Agency The government is an intermediate agency which has the main, though by no means the exclusive, responsibility for society s adherence to the principles which favour increased autonomy and respect for people s choices. When one thinks about the work of governments throughout history, they look like extremely obnoxious, or at least dangerous, artefacts, for which the need, and, consequently, the conditions and limits, require moral justification. The mere fact that the government prescribes something to us does not morally justify our doing it (though it may prudentially justify it, and therefore, in some cases it may morally excuse it). The decision to obey a government must be an autonomous one one that, like any decision which can affect other people, we should justify on the basis of a freely accepted moral principle. But if this is so, to what extent are we really obeying the government and not simply governing ourselves? And if the moral person always governs himself, what, for him, is the moral relevance of having a government (besides solving co ordination problems or altering the factual setting)? The era of wars and terrorism was followed by segregation, racial sub ordination, and complacence. One report written by senior civil servants in 1934 for the Department of Health actually suggested that the eugenics policies of the Nazi Germany should be adopted in the UK. Students could choose one close to where they live, one with a respectable reputation in the major they prefer or a large school instead a smaller. All of these factors can be important, but depending on your preferences, some may be more significant than others may. It is important to define what is important and what is not, in other words, the priorities that could make the difference between a good and a bad choice. • 7. Comparing The Bluest Eye And Lamar s Black Is Beautiful Black Is Beautiful is a cultural movement that was created by African American communities in the United States. The fight for equal rights and more positive views on African Americans started in the 1960s when society would make negative judgments on them since the media believed that African Americans were only good for being slaves. The novel The Bluest Eye (1970) by Toni Morrison and the album To Pimp A Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar both show oppression through institutionalized racism. The idea of Black Is Beautiful is influenced through Morrison s novel and Lamar s album by using the themes of low self esteem / self hate and judgment beyond skin color. One of the main themes in the novel The Bluest Eye is low self esteem / self hate. The author reveals this theme through the character s actions and word choice. In The Bluest Eye, the author reveals how Claudia feels about herself by explaining what she did to the blue eyed doll. She says, I fingered the face, wondering at the single stroke eyebrows... It is similar to the shape of a cornucopia, which is composed of 3 unequal sepals and 5 petals (appearing as 3). These unique flowers hang off their balances from a slender stem. The flowers attract animal species such as hummingbirds, who suck the nectar out of the plant. The stem seems watery, and when picked the entire plant will wilt quickly. There are multiple branches per plant. Because of this, and the fact that the plant can grow up to 5 feet high, it can have a bush like appearance. Within a couple of months I had a fleet of bikes ranging, from a bike from the nineteen forties to a newer chopper styled bike. As soon as I turned fourteen I got a real job. Before I could afford a vehicle I drove around and constantly fixed my grandpa s junk truck. One bad thing is that his truck belonged in the junkyard. It leaked gas, oil, and transmission fluid after three months of driving it and it went straight to the junkyard. Then a couple months later at fifteen, I had already bought my own small truck. This was quite the step up this one only leaked oil, but it was very slow. Going from zero to sixty mph took about twenty five seconds. This is when I got myself a nice car that was fast, comfortable, and didn t leak anything. That car was a ninety six Lincoln Town Car, but the car has over two hundred twenty thousand miles on it. • 15. Empathy Is Extremely Important For Children Empathy is extraordinarily important for children to understand and eventually put into practice, as it exercises their ability to feel and respect the emotions of other people. Empathy also plays a big role in trust and support both of which are very important aspects of any relationship, and is necessary for living a healthy, functional life in today s society. In her article, Dovey describes A 2011 study published in the Annual Review of Psychology [...] showed that, when people read about an experience, they display stimulation within the same neurological regions as when they go through that experience themselves. (Dovey par. 11). This means that when people, or in this case, children, read stories, their brains react as if they were going through the same situations and emotions that they read about. This is a great way for kids to learn about empathy, why it s important, and how to apply it to their own lives. One may argue that, while readingmay trigger empathetic feelings in the majority of people, those who enjoy readinghave greater empathetic tendencies than others, making reading to teach empathy only applicable to those who like to read and have these higher than average tendencies. Dovey also addresses this, stating that other studies published in 2006 and 2009 showed [...] that people who read a lot of fiction [tended] to be better at empathizing with others (even after the researchers had accounted for the potential bias that people with greater empathetic ... • 17. Analysis Of Shane Koyczan And Many Artists To this day is a spoken word poem and video illustration by Shane Koyczan and many artists. It was created in 2013 with the purpose of effectively spreading the convincing message that bullying is a real and serious thing that is too often dismissed as normal and not acted upon as the serious thing it is. 2013 was shortly after the new large push against bullying which is likely one large reason as to the creation and popularity of this work. However even with the anti bullying movement it would not have become popular if it was not in itself an effective piece at conveying its own point against bullying and contributing to the cause. Koyczan made his piece so successful by successfully using ethosand pathosto make hard hitting grounded points to his purpose. He also used small amounts of logos but it was not a majorly effective part of his piece. Ethos is the way the writer creates a persona that allows the audienceto see them as trustworthy, relatable, knowledgeable, and as someone with authority. Then uses these to convince an audience of their point. This is use of ethos effectively done in the creation of koyczan s poem to this day . He shows his reliability and knowledge to the viewer by showing them that he has personal experience with the main topic. This not only lets the viewer see that he has a reliable viewpoint, it shows that he has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As early as the 1960s renowned scientists such as Good and Neumann theorized of an intelligence explosion, now known as the technology singularity, resulting from intelligent machines designing their next generation without human intervention. This idea of artificial intelligence (AI) has grown immensely and is a common topic amongst scholars, scientists, and theorists in the mathematic and scientific world. The key idea underlying the impending Singularity is that the pace of change of our human created technology is accelerating and its powers are expanding at an exponential pace. Exponential growth is deceptive. It starts out almost imperceptibly and then explodes with unexpected fury unexpected, that is, if one does not take care to follow its trajectory (Kurzweil, 8, 2005). Ray Kurzweil a scientist, inventor, author, and current director of engineering at Google is the leading theorist of the Singularity. So what is the singularity you ask? Most simply put Kurzweil defines it as, a future period during which the pace of technological change will be so rapid, its impact so deep, that human life will be irreversibly transformed (Kurzweil, 2005, 7). Currently we are in the early stages of the transition. The acceleration of the paradigm shift (the rate at which we change fundamental technical approached) as well as the exponential growth of ... Thompson s essay Time, Work Discipline, and Industrial Capitalism , he argues how the rise of standardized time, which coincided with employed labor and capitalism, changed how people view time from how time passes to time spent . Time became a commodity in which it could be bought and sold. Timethat was not spent properly was considered wasted, which Thompson calls time thrift, which preindustrial societies were not very preoccupied with in comparison. Thompson explores this transition of the sense of time in relationship to the Industrial Revolution, benefits and disadvantages to the new time discipline, and a possible mixture of the old and new time disciplines in the future. Thompson starts out describing how people measured time before clocks and the Industrial Revolution. People measured time in units of domestic activities or natural phenomena, which can be described as task orientation. Thompson considers this type of time measuring to be natural and believes that a task oriented society results in little distinction between work and life. However, to people used to timed labor, such an attitude to labor appeared to be wasteful. When employed labor is involved, productivity in terms of time becomes important, because the employer generally pays the worker in terms of time. For many jobs, then a shift from task orientation to timed labor occurs, as the laborer s time becomes the employer s money. Thus, a separation between work and leisure occurs, as ... By way of mental deconstruction and evaluation of all that he had previously considered true, Descartes is left with only the elements that he is able to ascertain are certain and indubitable . By June of 1992 the General Board of the American Baptist Church was being pressured by some of their member churches to accept the practice of homosexuality within their denomination. A resolution called Homosexuality and the Church , which identified Gods plan for the fulfillment of sexual union to be one man and one woman in heterosexual, monogamous, and lifelong marriage, was narrowly defeated. The resolution further stated that the redeeming love of Christ is available to practicing homosexuals as it is to all who turn to him in faith and repentance. Then a few months later, in October 1992, the General Board was again approached and was forced to vote regarding the issues of homosexuality in their church. They finally agreed to issue a one sentence standing that was called American Baptist Resolution on Homosexuality . The sentence briefly stated We affirm that the practice of homosexuality is incompatible with Christian teaching. This started the ball rolling and in June of 1993 the General Board next came up with another resolution that was called American Baptist Resolution Calling for Dialogue on Human Sexuality . • 45. Examples Of Heroism In Antigone Acts of heroism can be displayed in many different ways. In the play, Antigone, written by Sophocles, the main character Antigone fought for what she believed in standing up against state law set by the King. The Mother from 4 Maccabees also showed strength and virtue by having to watch all of her seven sons be tortured and die right before her eyes. As being women in a society where they are viewed as less equal to men, characters, Antigone and the Mother from 4 Maccabees did not let male authoritarian rule get in the way of displaying valorous acts by sticking to their moral beliefs. The author of 4 Maccabees wrote a story in the Bible to display how piety and reason overcame passion. The author states, For reason does not overcome its... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Antigone s brother, Polyneices was declared to be a traitor, according to King Kreon, against his own country known as Thebes. For such actions King Kreon refused to let Polyneices have a proper burial and would kill anyone who tried to give him one, which outraged Antigone. Antigone could not let someone whose blood related to her not have a proper burial so she tries to get her sister, Ismene to help her. Ismene replies, We must remember, first, that we two are by nature women and not fit to fight with men; second, that we are ruled by others stronger than ourselves, and so must bow to this and even greater griefs (Sophocles lines 61 64). Antigone being as passionate as she is ignores her sister s fearfulness of the possible consequences and says to her, I shall bury him. To me it s fine to die performing such a deed. I ll lie there, dear to him, with my dear friend, when I ve performed this crime of piety; for I must please those down below a longer time than those up here, since I shall lie there always (Sophocles lines 72 76). Antigone prefers to be dead with her brother who she loves very much than to be alive and not have him have a proper burial. She believes that by committing such a crime it is pure and will be vindicated by the Gods. Since Antigone is a woman it puts all the more pressure on Kreon to stick to his orders because of the limitations of freedom set on Greek woman in the ancient world. Her rebellious actions are out of line with her place in society as being a woman, which disrupts the gender roles and Kings position over the people in the community. By not abiding by the rules set by King Kreon she rises up against tyranny not only to expose her unique qualities of individualism, but also to reach out to the other people in her community who haven t stood up against the King and fought for what they believed to be ... The Influence of Rationalism on the French Revolution Ben Jorgensen Professor Wakefield English 5 3 April 2013 The Influence of Rationalism on the French Revolution What was the driving force behind the French Revolution? Many people may say it was financial, or political, and while I would agree that these things were part of the force that propelled the French Revolution, I would assert that the philosophies of the Enlightenment were the dominant force that blasted late eighteenth century France into revolution . He writes that: The philosophes undoubtedly provided the ideas. Cranston goes on to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The King shared his powers with nobody, and was answerable for its exercise to nobody but God. (21) The ancien regime government lacked reason, but was bursting with more than its fair share of divine laws and rights that the creator had set in place in order to insure social stability. In fact, as Doyle points out in his book, this concept that God had set forth a divine law to be followed was directly stated in a document that parliament wrote: This social order is not only essential to the practice of every sound government: it has its origin in divine law. (24) The document goes on to say that: The infinite and immutable wisdom in the plan of the universe established an unequal distribution of strength and character, necessarily resulting in inequality in the conditions of men within the civil order... The words irrational, divine, and superstitious come up many times when describing the ancien regimes government and society; in fact, these things were actually integral to the maintenance of government and society in France during the ancien regime.
