The focus of this study was to examine activity based costing from the perspective of competitive
advantage. ABC can support the strategic management process and provide significant benefit to
organizations. This examination utilized the contingency theory as a theoretical basis for the study.
Descriptive survey design was adopted. The data gathering instrument employed for this study is a
structured questionnaire. Data are analyzed through SPSS version 16. Reliability analysis using
Cronbach s alpha value was applied on data collected. Factor analysis was employed using
principal component method followed by Varimax with Kaiser Normalization, to find the factors or
dimensions that explain variances by the data set. The factor analysis is based on four dimensions,
namely, overall performance, strategic cost allocation method, increased efficiency and increased
effectiveness having the factor loadings of over В±0.3. The regression results are positive and
significant at the 5% level. Findings reveal that there is no statistically significant difference in cost
reduction attained by ABC over Traditional costing, though ABC tended to have higher effect.

To find out the total height we could add the height of all of the platforms. However, the total
height can also be determined by a formula since the increase in height from platform to platform
is the same. What I saw was that there are pairs within the heights of the first platform and last
platform that when added result to the same number. For example: If there are 5 platforms in
total, the first platform is 4 feet and the increase in height is 2 feet, the height of the platforms in
order are: 4, 6, 8, 10, 12.
The height of the last platform is 12 and the height of the first platform is 4. When we add 4 and
12 the result is 16 and divided by 2 is 8. The 2nd platform is 6 feet and the 4rth platform is 10
feet When added together and divided by 2 to get the average we get 8. The platform is the
average number, which is 8. I saw this and put it into a formula. I took the height of the first
platform and added it to the last platform, and substituted it for the variables f+l (where l=the
height of the last platform). Then I took the total number of platforms and divided it by 2 to get the
average, and multiplied it by the average of both platforms to get the total height of all of the
platforms. This resulting number is the total length required in square feet of fabric to cover the
fronts of the platforms.

Acts of heroism can be displayed in many different ways. In the play, Antigone, written by
Sophocles, the main character Antigone fought for what she believed in standing up against
state law set by the King. The Mother from 4 Maccabees also showed strength and virtue by
having to watch all of her seven sons be tortured and die right before her eyes. As being women
in a society where they are viewed as less equal to men, characters, Antigone and the Mother

Antigone s brother, Polyneices was declared to be a traitor, according to King Kreon, against his
own country known as Thebes. For such actions King Kreon refused to let Polyneices have a
proper burial and would kill anyone who tried to give him one, which outraged Antigone.
Antigone could not let someone whose blood related to her not have a proper burial so she tries
to get her sister, Ismene to help her. Ismene replies, We must remember, first, that we two are by
nature women and not fit to fight with men; second, that we are ruled by others stronger than

as passionate as she is ignores her sister s fearfulness of the possible consequences and says to

prefers to be dead with her brother who she loves very much than to be alive and not have him
have a proper burial. She believes that by committing such a crime it is pure and will be
vindicated by the Gods. Since Antigone is a woman it puts all the more pressure on Kreon to
stick to his orders because of the limitations of freedom set on Greek woman in the ancient
world. Her rebellious actions are out of line with her place in society as being a woman, which
disrupts the gender roles and Kings position over the people in the community. By not abiding by
the rules set by King Kreon she rises up against tyranny not only to expose her unique qualities of

French Revolution? Many people may say it was financial, or political, and while I would agree
that these things were part of the force that propelled the French Revolution, I would assert that the
philosophies of the Enlightenment were the dominant force that blasted late eighteenth century

government and society in France during the ancien regime. Indeed, you could not have this form
