The Life Of Bob Dylan
The Life of Bob Dylan
Bob Dylan is often considered to be one of the greatest and most influential musicians of all
time. He has released 36 albums, and has amassed a huge following of music lovers. His songs
have ranged from poetic folk songs that discuss social issues of the 1960s, to covers of very
famous songs recorded with his own stylistic twist. He was one of the first rock artists whose
lyrics were considered to be on par with works of literature (1)He has also been one of the only
artists, to this day, that has been able to consistently affect listeners of any generation. For over 5
decades, he has remained a dominant musician in the American recording arts and he will remain
such for decades to come.Bob Dylan was born as Robert Zimmerman in Duluth, Minnesota on
May 24, 1941. He grew up nearby in the small town of Hibbing, Minnesota. It was there, in
Hibbing, where he learned to play guitar and set the foundation for his successful music career.
Dylan attended Hibbing High School where he formed a band called The Golden Chords, which
covered songs from the likes of Elvis Presley and Little Richard (2). The Golden Chords never
achieved mainstream success and disbanded after the members graduated high school. After high
school, Dylan (whose legal name at this time was still Robert Zimmerman) attended the University
of Minnesota. While there, he began performing at local coffee houses under the name Bob Dylan.
He eventually decided college wasn t for him and

Hookworm Research Paper
19 Hookworm (Anclostoma Duodenale and Necator Americanus). Hookworm is another very
important intestinal helminth that infects over seven hundred million people worldwide (CDC,
2016). The adult worms, like ascaris live in the intestine and shed their eggs in the faeces of
infected person. Faecal contamination of the soil or the use of human excreta as fertilizer increases
the chance of hook worm eggs to be deposited in the soil. The eggs when released into the soil
hatch into the larvae. Hookworm infection occurs when the infective larvae penetrate the human
skin. This infection is likely possible when people walk barefoot on soil contaminated with
hookworm eggs (Cappello, 2004). Infections with hookworm are usually asymptomatic

The Politics of Criminal Organizations Essay
Criminal organizations penetrate democratic mechanisms and their systems of representation. Votes
are extorted with threats and violence or Wheedled out of citizens in exchange for different kinds
of incentives. Political Parties rely heavily on external funding. This dependence inevitably makes
them susceptible to corruption (Allum and Siebert 2003). Accordingly, It is common to secure a
number of votes in exchange for favors, Such as contracts for public works, promoting and scuttling
legislation, Patronage, etc. (ibid.) All the regional commission of the Mafiahas to Do is to instruct
which party to vote for, and tens of thousands of votes Will flood in for that party (Procura della

investigation, Prefect s control or monitoring. Therefore, 90% of councils required investigation
(Allum forthcoming Marasca, 2006, p. 12).
In its most advanced form, organized crime is so thoroughly integrated into the economic,
political, and social institutions of legitimate society that it may no longer be recognizable as a
criminal enterprise. In the Most extreme cases, infiltration of politics by organized crime may
lead to mixing among a country s political and criminal elites to the point Where OCG are able
to wield political power. Van Dijk points out that in many parts of the world, grand corruption and
organized crime are two Sides of the same coin. The relationship between organized crime and
Politics can be seen as a system interaction : the interaction between a Representative of a criminal
sub system, i.e. a Mafioso, and a politician from the political sub system. Godson (2006) also points
out that When political establishment knowingly and regularly does business with gang leaders, or
when professional Criminals are actually elected to power, as has happened in Sicily and Taiwan,
the distinction (between the political establishments and the criminal underworld) is less
straightforward.

Why Is Benjamin Franklin Called The Picture Perfect...
Nate Locatelli
Mr. Pisenti
Period 1
11/2/17
Benjamin Franklin was the picture perfect self made man. From seemingly nothing, he became a
successful musician, author, scientist, and printer. In his free time, he helped found and build a
country.
The key to Franklin s success was his desire and his need to constantly improve himself on all
fronts. His quest for excellence began at only the age of 20. It was then that he thought of a program
that would motivate and push him to possess more virtuous habits. Since he was also a
perfectionist, he drew up a list of 13 virtues, and created a chart on which to keep track of his
progress in living them. Each week he would focus on one virtue while also keeping track of the
others. He would then move on to the next virtue and so on, eventually going through four cycles
of each of the virtues in a single year.
When he failed to live up to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To make the most of his time, he created a schedule for himself. To begin the day the right way,
not only regarding order, but living well in general. This helped Franklin focus on things he could
do to serve his fellow man and help his society as he went about his daily routine. Franklin
examined how he had spent his hours and whether he had done the good things he had planned on
doing, as well as if he had taken action on spontaneous opportunities to lend others a helping hand.
Benjamin Franklin s moral and social philosophies inspired and still inspire millions around the
world. Becoming a self made man is a long and tough task. Improve yourself, which will then
improve the society around you. Slight slip ups are impossible to avoid when trying to follow strict
ideals. Franklin s purpose was to make people aware of their inclinations and to help them overcome
the natural tendencies of themselves, which would limit our dependence on other people. Benjamin
Franklin is an inspiration to us

Persuasive Speech On Skateboarding
Skateboarding Safety is always a priority when I come to skateboarding. Because one day my
brother and I went to the mall. So we can buy me a skateboard from Zumiez after we got to the
house. I said can we go out and skate for a little bit Levi and he said, yes we can just let me get my
board . Then when Levi got his board we put the rail outside so we could try new things on it. My
friend Ricky came up with his board and he said can I try a trick on the rail I ve been practicing it
so we said, yes you can be careful . When he got up on the rail the rail splitter and made Ricky fell
on his back. So he went home to make sure he was alright, and he has he had a bruise on his back
where he landed. We played until it was dark and my mom said: it s time to come in and get
cleaned up . So we went in and put everything that was outside inside and got ready for bed. The
next day we woke up at noon and got dressed to go outside. But mom said before you go outside
you have to do your chores. So after we did our chores me and my brother Levi got out the rail and
our boards. Then we skated on the rail for an hour or so until Levi said we should make a ramp I
agreed. Levi brung wood from the shed and some plywood for the surface also I got screws and a

Master Harold and the Boys by Athol Fugard
In a play, rituals are a series of actions performed by people in a normal situation; thus, the
performers undergo a change from ordinary performers into a community of participants. To ensure
that the drama reflects a real ritual, characters must abandon their normalcies and assume different
roles. In Master Harold ... and the boys and Endgameby Athol Fugard and Samuel Beckett,
respectively, relationships are developed for mutual gain; they promote personal welfare,
satisfaction, and gain. The ritualistic method by which the characters converse reveals the absurdity
and necessity of relationships.
In Master Harold ... and the boys, Sam and Willie, two black waiters who work for Hally s
mother at a tea shop in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, practice for the ballroom dancing
competition and the performance of it, which represents a world without collisions . Sam and
Willie see dancing as a way to get away from [their] lives, the oppression, and the past , to escape
societal boundaries without any hindrances bad relationships, oppression, and other societal vices
that keep individuals from freedom. The dancing signifies the search for happiness and hope,
despite hate. Sam suggests trying to learn to dance like champions, not beginners . Hally develops
the idea of dancing into a political debate and views dancing as a way of releasing primitive
notions . His interpretation of dancing demonstrates his incapability to see beyond what he s been
taught. The mild banter between

The book of Genesis contains various creation, flood and patriarchal narratives. Genesis was
written in a certain time and place, to a certain audience, with a certain meaning intended by the
original author. However, Genesis wasn t the only source in regards to creation, flood and
patriarchal narratives throughout the Near East during this time. In fact, the accounts in Genesis
took place at a later time than some of the other literature in the Near East. It also could be argued
that the authors of Genesis were influenced by the culture in their writings. The goal will be to

Why or why not? The short answer to this question is yes. Genesis s flood story can be thought
of as written by other couple sources, authors J and P (Hays 90). Author J is the older
manuscript and Author P is the redactor. Author J is identified because of the use of Yahweh.
Author P is likely the priestly redactor that would not use the holy name of Yahweh. Priest would
instead us the word Lord. Another way source division is identifiable is through doublets that
seem to occur throughout the Genesis narrative. Some of the doublets contradict one another
therefore leading one to believe there are more than one author. For example, Author J states that
seven pairs of ritually clean and one pair of unclean animals were taken aboard the Ark then 40
days of rain ensued. The later redactor, Author P , seems to transpose a different (Babylonian)
account of 2 pairs of animals and 150 days of rain (Hays 91) Best explanation is that P and J has
been harmonized over time, both full stories, then redaction by a later

Reciprocity And Kawelka Relationship
The act of reciprocity, the mutual act of giving and receiving; giving more than you are taking. A
quote that really captures the true meaning of reciprocity is, People gave with the expectation of
taking and took with the expectation of giving (Harris 1989). This is seen across many different
cultures and time periods. Nevertheless, they are not all the same, and may not generate
equivalent types of relationships, for social and personal value. In this essay we will look at two
separate acts of reciprocity; how they work, and what they provide. First, a look into the Gebusi
sister exchange, and then into the Kawelka s moka ceremony. Everyone desires connection,
whether that be through friendships or sexual relations.
Community and the desire ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Among the Kawelka tribe, reciprocity serves as a way of gaining prestige and shaming rivals
(Cronk 1988). This form of exchange serves as way of social superiority. Their ritual is called the
moka; this is a very important ceremony to their tribe. The reason why Ongka so wanted to give
his big moka, is that only by giving can he earn fame and status for his tribe and for him (Niarn
1974). The moka ceremony is a formal interaction in which one man gives more than he received
from another, as a pay back of debt, as well as a trump to their social status. However, the return
of the moka cannot happen after a long period of time, doing so immediately would serve as a
desire to cut the strings and end the relationship. It is expected that the debt will be repaid when
the time comes, if it is not the one who has not repaid the debt will lose their support and status
as a big man . The goal of the moka is to eventually become a big man , also known as a tribal
leader (Cronk 1988). After one big moka was thrown by Ongka, that included several hundreds of
pigs, a truck, thousands of dollars and more, he told the recipient of his moka, I have won. I have
knocked you down by giving so much (Cronk 1988; Nairn

Figure 8 3 Shielded Twisted Pair Cable 110 Chapter 8: Network Media Types Although STP
prevents interference better than UTP, it is more expensive and difficult to install. In addition,
the metallic shielding must be grounded at both ends. If it is improperly grounded, the shield acts
like an antenna and picks up unwanted signals. Because of its cost and difficulty with
termination, STP is rarely used in Ethernet networks. STP is primarily used in Europe. The
following summarizes the features of STP cable: Speed and throughput 10 to 100 Mbps
Average cost per node Moderately expensive Media and connector size Medium to large
Maximum cable length 100 m (short) When comparing UTP and STP, keep the following points
in mind: The speed of both types of cable is usually satisfactory for local area distances. These
are the least expensive media for data communication. UTP is less expensive than STP. Because
most buildings are already wired with UTP, many transmission standards are adapted to use it, to
avoid costly rewiring with an alternative cable type. Coaxial Cable Coaxial cable consists of a
hollow outer cylindrical conductor that surrounds a single inner wire made of two conducting
elements. One of these elements, located in the center of the cable, is a copper conductor.
Surrounding the copper conductor is a layer of flexible insulation. Over this insulating

For the median of FLPSX, half of the ten years had yearly return earnings higher than 10.2650 and
half lower than 10.2650, while FFRHX had a smaller median of 4.0750. Both funds also do not
have modes, another measurement of central location. The measurements in the table mean that
FNCMX would have a higher investment return per year than the FFRHX as it more than doubles
the return for both the mean and the median (10.97 mean return 4.7150 mean return and 10.265
median 4.0750). Both mutual funds had positively skewed distributions because the means were
greater than the medians.
Investment Risk For a client to fully comprehend an investment option, it is crucial to know the
investment risk associated with it. This is done through measures of dispersion by calculating the
range and standard deviation of each mutual fund, as they provide information about the variability
in the data. The range of yearly returns for FNCMX is 85 as compared to a range of only 45.33
for FFRHX. The high range for FNCMX can be attributed to the fluctuation of the stock market
where the highs and lows throughout the year have lasting impacts on the yearly returns. Typically,
standard deviation is a more credible measure of dispersion, as range only analyzes the minimum
and maximum values. The standard deviation for the FidelityВ® Floating Rate High Income Fund
yearly returns is

Homeschooling And Public Education
Is your child at the age where they need to begin their education? Are you conflicted with the many
options of where to educate your child? When it comes to the issue of education, many people from
educators to students to parents to administrators to politicians have different ideas as to what
makes for the best education. According to Samantha Moore, in her evaluation essay titled There s
no place like home, she argues that homeschooling provides a better educational experience for
students over the public schoolsystem. Specifically she states that evaluating homeschooling
through aesthetic, moral, and practical criteria favors homeschooling over public school (Moore,
2017, p. 2). In other words, she expresses that homeschooling is better morally, is cheaper and more
convenient, and is safer. While I agree that for some students faced with certain situations,
homeschooling is the better option, I disagree with Moore s overall claim that homeschooling is the
best option for students over public education. By examining the examples from her evaluation
essay in a different way, it will become clear that the American public school system is actually the
best option when it comes to students education. Although Moore makes a point that homeschooled
students are often involved in various activities outside of their home, allowing them the social
skills that the majority of people believe they lack, her argument is flawed in the sense that those
activities allowing

The Importance Of Legal Responsibility After A Car Accident
People who leave the scene of an accident are scared because they don t have a license or valid
insurance. The fleeing party might have been drinking or have an illegal substance in the car too.
Leaving the scene of the accident doesn t mean they can t be found and held responsible for the
accident, damages and injuries. Once they leave the scene of the accident, they might be held
responsible for damages even if they weren t at fault. It could also lead to serious criminal charges.
Legal Responsibility after a Car Accident
After being involved in a car accident, both parties are required to stay and exchange identification
and insurance information as well as vehicle registration number. You ll want to get the details of
the driver and passengers in the other vehicle.
You re required to contact local law enforcement to alert them to the accident. They might not send
a police cruiser to respond to the accident if there haven t been injuries or serious damage. If the
police don t respond, you ll be required to go to the police station and file your own report for the
insurance company.
In an accident with no people present, the driver is required to leave contact information and an
explanation where it can be found by the owner of the vehicle or property that was damaged.

for society to function prosperously, the wise thing to do is to get rid of this thinking, so people

Populism
The trend towards populism is a critical developing trade/policy/transportation issue for global
transportation and supply. Populism increases the importance of domestic considerations as
opposed to a more global approach. In the recent U.S. presidential election, populism became a
significant factor in the minds of the electorate and resulted in the election of a candidate that
reflects the views consistent with this mind set. This sentiment appears to be growing in
importance in other democratic nations as well, signaling a major shift away from an era of general
international cooperation.

In 2015, nearly half (47%) of U.S. goods exports went to the 20 free trade agreement countries.
U.S. merchandise exports to the partner countries totaled $710 billion, according to the
International Trade Administration s website. (Forbes, Dec 7, 2016)
Populism and the new administration could modify the United States position on a number of other
critical issues related to international trade. One such issue is that of the environment, a topic that
demands extensive international cooperation. With the emerging trend toward populism and
election of populist leaders such as President elect Trump, the needs of the individual nation are
increasing in importance relative to that of all countries working together to address critical issues
such as carbon emissions.
The President elect has taken the position that the cost of complying with international
environmental agreements places the United States at a disadvantage. This is enhanced, clearly,
when other countries agree to the concepts of pact, but fail to comply. If these agreements fall
apart, as may be the case, then international trade will again be effected. The move of companies

Rohm Haas
Executive Summary
Rohm Haas recently introduced a new product, Kathon MWX, in order to exploit an untapped
portion (reservoir capacity under 1,000 gallons) of the biocide market. Even with limited
competition within this segment, Kathon MWX has not been able to produce its annual target
revenues, only capitalizing on roughly 6% of said target in a 5 month period. Large scale
distributors, who exhibit the most buyer power and influence over end customers in the industry,
threaten manufacturer brand equity by relabeling all biocide maintenance products under their own
brands. Even though Rohm Haas does not allow distributors to change the label on Kathon MWX,
the lack of end customer awareness for the manufacturer brands has ... Show more content on

The higher margin products also miss a benefit either in fungi or smell reduction. Why should
Rohm Haas expect large volume sales and scale economies on the industry quality leading product
when it s offered on the dollar menu? The distributors operate a toll booth and the highest bidder
gets to pass. Rohm Haas needs a competitive value proposition that cannot be refused.
Evaluation Recommendation
Little or no brand awareness of Kathon 886 currently exists. By rebranding Kathon MWX a brand
extension of Kathon 886, Rohm and Haas Brand does not add any value to the brand nor to the
positioning of the new product. We recommend that Rohm Haas markets Kathon MWX under a
different name that better describes the product and by which customers can recognize it. We
suggest that that the new brand name suggests something about the benefits of Kathon MWX, but
more than a name is needed.
To develop brand awareness for the rebranded MWX among end customers in the short term, the
company can continue its current strategy of pursuing distributors and have them include the new
brand name with the package. However, the strong sell comes from raising prices (and margins) to
distributors (see exhibit #2). Rohm Haas can inherently raise its prices to a competitive level,

Bill Gates We read books for a number of reasons but usually because we want to or we have to.
When you pick up a book it falls into one of three types, dependent on whether it is a want to or a

first chapter is so bad that you have to put it down because you are either too confused by the plot
or you discover it has been written in some obscure untranslatable language. The second type is
where the first chapter is slightly disappointing but it is worth pursuing so you read on. These

The Lake House
Pulling up to the lake house, I looked over at my older sister, Clara, who was busy staring
through the window of the old truck. Every year, my Dad s whole side of the family stays
together for a week every summer. Ever since I can remember, we ve stayed at this huge, old
lake house in Columbia, South Carolina. Clara and I hate being here. Strange things happen in
this house... plates fall out 5432wqof cabinets and voices echo in the house throughout the
night. Nevertheless, my grandparents still loved coming here and made us visit every year.
Clara, my Dad, and I are the last ones to arrive because our flight from Chicago was overlaid two
hours. I missed Chicago already, the constant buzz of people and the bright lights. Walking up to
the house, everything felt the same as it always did. The humidity is choking, making it hard to
breathe. The sun is blinding and the temperature is somewhere in the 90 s, as to be expected late
July in South Carolina. The lake smells like dead fish. Always, no matter what. We walked up
the old, wooden stairs. The light blue paint was chipping off the door, and the door itself looked
like it was about to fall of the hinges. Clara let herself in, pulling her lime suitcase behind her.
My two little cousins, Reagan and Matthew, immediately saw her and squealed with joy.
Everyone loved Clara, her bubbly personality easy to get along with. No one, on the other hand,
was ever excited to see me. I was the quiet one, overlooked by

Humans Have Found Many Different Ways To Communicate...
Humans have found many different ways to communicate throughout time. In the early days of
civilization humans would use hand signals and drawings to communicate with others. As
civilization progressed, so did the methods of communication. This is evident by the number of
languages that are used on planet earth. According to the website infoplease.com there are around
6,500 different languages spoken in the world. This is simply astounding the number of different

some could argue is used every day, by just about everyone on the planet. With this said there is one

The main strength of the Uncertainty Reduction Theory is the simple fact that the theory has been
used and applied for nearly four decades. It is mainly used to gain insight into interpersonal
relationships. In the very beginning of a relationship the Uncertainty Reduction Theory can give
critical incite, however this is also one of the theories weaknesses. Once the relationship is past the
initial interaction, the first time the stranger s meat, the Uncertainty Reduction Theory can no
longer provide insight into the relationship. A second weakness of the Uncertainty Reduction
Theory is the fact that the theory was meanly developed and designed the western culture.
However, there are more and more studies that are beginning to apply the Uncertainty Reduction
Theory and look further into its practical uses outside of western culture. Here is an example of one
such study:
A model of uncertainty reduction theory was tested that was derived from Berger and Calabrese s
(1975) theory of initial interactions and recent extensions of the theory (e.g., Berger, 1979; Berger
Bradac, 1982) across three relationships (acquaintances, friends, and dates) in three cultures:
Japan, Korea, and the United States. The model was tested using LISREL and found to be a
reasonable fit to the data for all three relationships in all three cultures. The percentage of variance

Redemption and Reconciliation in The Mayor of Casterbridge
In Thomas Hardy s The Mayor of Casterbridge, rejection and reconciliation is a consistent theme.
During the Victorian era, Michael Henchard, a common hat trusser, becomes Mayor of the town of
Casterbridge, Wessex. However, his position does not prevent him from making a series of
mistakes that ultimately lead to his downfall. Henchard s daughter, Elizabeth Jane Newson, is

characters of Henchard and Elizabeth Jane both experience the pain of rejection in its different

compared to the treatment Lucetta receives she could not help asking what she had done to be

Henchard and Elizabeth Jane feel pain because of rejection by others; however, that pain isn t

the passage A New Land of Opportunity encourages human activity on Antarcticaand believes that
this can lead to a widespread of incredible opportunities. I believe that the author of A New Land of

Although still problematic, gender roles constructed by society and cultures have progressed
throughout the years, not as much as hoped but in small ways. The social and cultural construction
of gender in definition means the construction of gender roles created by others that determine their
behaviors and develop standards based on their sex. In the article Social Construction of Genderby
Lorber the author demonstrates the social and cultural construction of gender stating, Yet in

being developed. Women and men are often being told what they should or shouldn t do. Being
molded into something society wants and favors. It s all developed through interactions with the
media, in school, with family, whether it s direct or not, it creates a huge impact on women. In
the reading, it states For men in Western societies, physical competence is an important marker
of masculinity (Lorber, 12 ). This goes to show how in different cultural settings there are
expectations that mark the gender you identify with. Culture makes a huge impact on the way a
person looks or speaks. Being a strong person could be known as attractive in a certain era or

process interestingly affects the person and makes them do exactly what society wants them to do.

these generalizations for active experimentation resulting in other concrete experiences, which
initiate the next spiral of learning. Kolb discusses the relationship of this model with the MBTI, and

Millions of people suffer with chronic pain; making it the top reason people go see the doctor.
With a price tag of at least $635 billion a year, that s more than cancer, heart disease and diabetes
combined. While powerful painkillers help many folks cope, many people don t want to have to
rely on a bottle of pills for the rest of their life.
Dr. Fatima Salas, with the Grace Health System Pain Management Center, says many patients are
concerned about dependency or addiction. People say I want to feel like myself again and clear
headed. They want to try everything else before resorting to drugs. Dr. Salas will work with you to
develop the best line of treatment for your chronic pain with and without drugs.
One popular pain therapy is nerve blocks. There are several different kinds that your doctor ... Show

They include chiropractic manipulation, massage and physical therapy. Many patients who tried
spinal injections found them to be very helpful, although the techniques their doctors used varied.
One of the top treatments, though, is plain old exercise. While many people with chronic pain are
scared to move, experts say exercise could be considered as close to a magic bullet than anything
else.
When pain patients get a move on, they are often pleasantly surprised at how well they feel. In
fact, a recent survey of more than 14,000 people, Consumer Reports found the best pain reliever
was exercise. Dr. Salas adds exercise and losing weight benefits your overall health, as well as pain.
Doctors say spinal cord stimulation is also very effective for most chronic pain, if appropriate. It
involves electrical stimulation of the spinal cord to interrupt pain signals from the spinal cord to the
brain, and to trade a painful sensation with a more pleasant tingling sensation. Unlike other
remedies, stimulation can be tried on a temporary

Issues In The Neutral Curriculum
It is very common that worldview issues, influence curriculum decisions in public education. When
discussing the curriculum itself, one must understand that it reveals the information and skills that
schools are theoretical doing, to help students master the content knowledge need to succeed in life.
A curriculum can be a system of practices arranging from study guides, to books. Since the fact that
a curriculum has distinguishes a great deal of elucidation, there is often times no discrepancies
being presented. In Van Brummelen, 2002, he talks about a number of curriculums and issues,
which influence such curriculum. One curriculum he talks about is the Neutral Curriculum. In the

Many establishments in the educational system change as culture unfolds (Van Brummelen, 2002,
p. 81). The reason that change is necessary in the educational curriculum, is for the reason that in
the past decade, there has been an emergence of expansions that are performing research based, top
practice teaching strategies, which are escorted by discoveries regarding learning and learners. With
change, it is predominant throughout our school in the U.S. In our country, these changes are
taking place rapidly, against a framework of the move from an industrialized economy that is
solely constructed on the universal traffic of information. In America, our nation has progressed to
a post modern civilization. In our schools, they are not designed to prepare our children for the
needed knowledge our economy or its demand for the effects over the process.
Another important influencer in the educational curriculum is worldview. Worldview ingresses the
equality from a variety of sources. In every school throughout our country, every curriculum, text
book, and teacher has a worldview that influences the students. Sometimes this may be the student s
background (where they come from), or their surrounding environmental setting. As parents of these
students, they need to identify what that worldview is and whether or not it is healthy for their
children, especially as we tie it to their educational

Fall Of The Jin Dynasty
Following the fall of the Hans dynasty in 220 C.E., China divided into three separate kingdoms
known as the Three Kingdom Era. Powerful families and warlords who were in a constant battle
against each other led the north, south, and west. In addition to these battles, disease and natural
disasters also took an extensive toll on China. The battles continued for years and then in the year
280 C.E., a general under the Jin dynasty from the north managed to defeat the south and west for a
short time. The Jin dynasty produced 25 sons who after his death began to battle each other for the
power to control the dynasty. One of the sons made a disastrous mistake when he asked Turkic

Many Mongolians were unhappy about the acceptance of the Chinese language and the
combination of the Mongolian language. In addition to the unrest in the north, thousands of
wealthy educated Chinese families fled south. This migration to southern China made this region a
cultural mecca. Southern China did not experience the same fate as northern China but they did
have power struggles during the Age of Disunity. The years 220 589 C.E. was known as the Age
of Disunity in which Nomads were constantly invading China. In the midst of all the turmoil,
Buddhism spread throughout China. During the Hans dynasty, Confucianism was the philosophy.
After the fall of the Hans dynasty and during the Age of Disunity, the people began to gravitate
toward Buddhism. Buddhism s promise of inner peace and relief from life s burdens were an
interest to the people of China. In the year 399, Faxian a Chinese Buddhist monk made a
pilgrimage to India and returned to China in 414. He brought with him Indian Buddhist texts, which
he transcribed into Chinese. By 517 Buddhism became the official religion of southern China. The
Sui, Tang and Song dynasties prevailed in China during the years 589 1279. The years 589 to 618
saw the rule of Yang Jian, general for the Sui Dynasty. Under this rule, he began construction of the

Van Gogh Research Paper
Van Gogh created more than 43 self portraits between 1885 and 1889.[231][note 13] They were
usually completed in series, such as those painted in Paris in mid 1887, and continued until
shortly before his death.[232] Generally the portraits were studies, created during introspective
periods when he was reluctant to mix with others, or when he lacked models, and so painted
himself.[222][233] The self portraits reflect a degree of self scrutiny that, according to Hughes, is
seldom if ever apparent in an artist.[234] Often they mark important periods in his development,
for example in the mid 1887 Paris series, where he became influenced by Claude Monet, Paul
Cezanne and Signac.[235] In Self Portrait with Grey Felt Hat, heavy strains of paint

Clara Barton s Impact On American History
Clara Barton
Clara Barton lived in a time when women were seemingly inferior, at a time when the roles she
took on were unusual for her gender. Clara Barton lived and thrived in the midst of the American
Civil War. Looked upon as one of the most honored women in American history, Barton impacted
our country most significantly by establishing the American Red Cross, an organization that today
provides disaster relief and other forms of medical assistance. For twenty three years, Barton led the
organization that she had founded in 1881 at the age of sixty. The foundation of the Red Cross
was inspired by her previous experiences. At a young age, Barton was a school teacher, despite
the fact that the occupation was usually taken on by men took part in the federal government at

others of her time, Barton was recorded as somebody who understood human needs, who was
compassionate and sympathetic to people s pain and desires. She was also known for her efforts in

The Gentle Lena Essay
Lena s gentle, sweet, servant like behavior was a commentary on the way on the way society
saw and treated women in the early 20th century. Lena did not have an opinion of her own, she
did not know how to make decisions on her own; she was told what to think, where to work, what
to do with her money, her free time and her future; her life was designed by someone else because
she was a women and unable to make decisions for herself. In the early 20th centurysociety treated
women as though they were not important, their duties were to have children, cook and clean for
their husbands and much like children of this timeperiod, women were to be were to be seen but

Upon arrival in America Lena was made to work as a servant, while her Aunt searched for a

to leave Germany and go to America, why did she have to work as a servant, why did she have
to go to her Aunt s house every Sunday, why couldn t she spend the money she worked hard to
make, why did she have to get married when she enjoyed working as a servant for the family, why
did she have to marry Herman Kreder when he obviously did not want to marry her. Lena was just
expected, as women in that timeperiod were, to just submit to the whims of the dominent member
of her family. Lena was so dutiful throughout the story, dutiful to the point where modern day
readers may actually get frustrated or angry with this character.
Lena lived her life passively and took what came her way without complaint; the cook who
scolded Lena a great deal but Lena s german patience held no suffering and the good incessant
woman really only scolded for Lena s good (Stein 143). Her cousins (Mrs. Hoydon s children)

Lamont Symphony Orchestra performed three beautiful sets of music that was conducted by

40 by Camille Saint SaГ«ns (1835 to 1921), Isle of the Dead, Op. 29 by Sergei Rachmaninoff
which is my favorite out of all three pieces (1873 to 1943), and Symphony No. 5, Op. 107 by Felix
Mendelssohn (1809 to 1847). Walking into the concert hall I was flabbergasted. The size of the
room just amazed me and the stage was fantastic to say the least. Made me more excited for the
show to start! As I sat down in my seat I noticed all the types of people in the concert hall were
dressed in many different sets of attire. Elderly people were better dressed with their suits and
dresses and pant suits where the younger people in the concert hall were still nicely dressed but
were a little more casual. After what seemed like forever the lights finally began to go dim and I
knew the show was about to start. In the first piece, Saint SaГ«ns, setting of the poem, the solo
violin represents the devil who is playing his fiddle for the dance. The dance begins at the stroke
of midnight in a graveyard. The harp begins the work with 12 strokes,

The Debate Over the No Child Left Behind Act Essay
The current debates surrounding the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 are both positive and
negative. Many politicians and people that previously supported the Act are now standing against it.
In the beginning many supported the new Act because everyone was aware that a change needed to
happen in the educationsystem and the proposal of No Child Left Behind seemed like the answer
we were looking for. As the No Child Left Behind requirements began to be felt in the school
systems across America and the assessments results started coming in, everyone took a step back
and really began to look at the new law. The results were not what everyone expected, what was
once considered an answer was now becoming the problem.

This is another glitch of No Child Left Behind, the law wanted school to assess their students on
a yearly basis to see who they rated among national levels but they did not give any assistance or
guidance on how they wanted to school to implement this. Schools were now not only forced to
implement the changes to meet the requirement of No Child Left Behind, now they had to come
up with a way to measure their progress. This only added to the negative views of the new law and
has been a sore spot among debaters in Washington and the school system.
According to a nationwide poll released almost 70 percent of American adults who say they are
familiar with the federal No Child Left Behind Act believe it has had no effect or is actually
hurting public schools (Greifner, 2006). Many parents began to see the effects this new law had
on their children. The added stress of testing that would determine if you passed or failed your
grade, homework by the boatloads, and normal childhood activities such as recess were becoming
a thing of the past. Parents and educators began to speak out against the Act and have gone to their
states political parties to try and encourage them to make a change. Some states have listened to the
voices opposing No Child Left Behind and have sought waivers from the federal government to no
longer participate or limit their participation with the law.

A Brief Note On British Literature And Composition
Akshat Piprottar British Literature and Composition Mr. McRae Essay #1 Doublethink in 1984
Hungry for absolute dominance over their people, the totalitarian government known as the
Party implements various tools, whether physical or ideological, into the common man. One of
these tools is the idea of doublethink, where, holding both the absolute truth and the truth
implanted by the Party in their minds, any given person can believe two contradicting ideas at
once. George Orwell, the author of 1984, successfully shows the reader how doublethink cannot
be practiced. In one of the plentiful scenes where O Brien tortures Winston, Winston fails to
doublethink properly. Between the electric shocks, O Brien, holding up four fingers, asks
Winston to count how many fingers. Trying to instill the value of doublethink in Winston, O
Brien actually further demonstrates how flawed doublethink is. Winston suppose[s] there are
four (288), trying to see five if I [Winston] could . Winston says he really wants to see them [the
five fingers] , yet he still fails. After an electric shock, Winston experiences a vision of a forest of
fingers... moving in a sort of dance . Orwell uses a metaphor for Winston s state of thought; his
hazy vision is really just uncertainty in his mind. Trying desperately to see five fingers, Winston
still can only either see four fingers or a hazy in between. There is no way for him to see both four
and five fingers at the same time. Orwell uses this very literal

A chemical reaction is the process by which atoms or groups of atoms are redistributed, resulting in
a change in the molecular composition of substances. The reaction rate is how quickly a reaction

ВЎВ¤changing the surface area of any solids involved
ВЎВ¤changing the concentration of reactants in solution
ВЎВ¤changing the temperature at which it is carried out

In order to make my experiment safe I will wear goggles and an overall when I handle the acid
as it is corrosive and if any came in contact with my skin during the experiment I would wash it
off immediately. As I described above, my experiments will be fair as it will be performed under
the same conditions, with hopefully only the concentration of acid being altered for each
experiment.
The equipment should be set up as shown in the diagram below:
The small marble chip will be placed in the conical flask first and then the hydrochloric acid will be
poured into the flask and as soon as all the acid is in I will start the stop clock and put the bung on
the flask. I will then watch the pencilled cross from and above and stop the clock at the exact
moment that I can no longer see the circle. I will record this time in my results table and then set up
the experiment for the next measurement.
Modifications following preliminary experiment
For my trial experiment, I placed one small marble chip in 50cm Гё of 1 molar hydrochloric acid
and timed how long it took before a pencilled cross was no longer visible under a conical flask
containing 10cm Гё of limewater. Although the limewater began to turn cloudy eventually, it took
more than 10 minutes to do so and I believe there were a few reasons for this.

Bhopal Gas Tragedy
Bhopal Gas Tragedy Who is responsible? It was a normal day in Bhopal the heart of India.
Fathers coming back from work, mothers cooking dinner for the family, some kids studying and
most playing out in the gallis (small streets in India). After dinner they all go into their world of
dreams. Kids dreaming of their games the next day, pregnant ladies dreaming of the fast
approaching days when their babies would be born into this world, worker fathers dreaming of
saving more money for their kids secure futures. What happened in the midst of that night is
beyond anybody s imagination. A poisonous gas leaked from a pesticide factory and covered the
whole city in its thick blanket of deadly gas. For many who slept that night, they never saw
another morning. You think that is bad? For a lot many who escaped death met with an even
more pathetic future when they were crippled for life some went blind, some had major skin
and lung diseases and many had genetic deformation. And that s not even the worst. Even thirty
years after the incident, people are still facing the consequences of the gas leak. Many babies
born suffer from genetic disorders if at all they are not still born. God knows up to what
generation this is going to continue. It was around 1 am on the 3rd of December, 1986 that the
world s worst industrial disaster took place now popularly known as the Bhopal Gas Tragedy
which officially killed more than 4,000 people and injured more than 500,000

  • 2. The Life Of Bob Dylan The Life of Bob Dylan Bob Dylan is often considered to be one of the greatest and most influential musicians of all time. He has released 36 albums, and has amassed a huge following of music lovers. His songs have ranged from poetic folk songs that discuss social issues of the 1960s, to covers of very famous songs recorded with his own stylistic twist. He was one of the first rock artists whose lyrics were considered to be on par with works of literature (1)He has also been one of the only artists, to this day, that has been able to consistently affect listeners of any generation. For over 5 decades, he has remained a dominant musician in the American recording arts and he will remain such for decades to come.Bob Dylan was born as Robert Zimmerman in Duluth, Minnesota on May 24, 1941. He grew up nearby in the small town of Hibbing, Minnesota. It was there, in Hibbing, where he learned to play guitar and set the foundation for his successful music career. Dylan attended Hibbing High School where he formed a band called The Golden Chords, which covered songs from the likes of Elvis Presley and Little Richard (2). The Golden Chords never achieved mainstream success and disbanded after the members graduated high school. After high school, Dylan (whose legal name at this time was still Robert Zimmerman) attended the University of Minnesota. While there, he began performing at local coffee houses under the name Bob Dylan. He eventually decided college wasn t for him and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Hookworm Research Paper 19 Hookworm (Anclostoma Duodenale and Necator Americanus). Hookworm is another very important intestinal helminth that infects over seven hundred million people worldwide (CDC, 2016). The adult worms, like ascaris live in the intestine and shed their eggs in the faeces of infected person. Faecal contamination of the soil or the use of human excreta as fertilizer increases the chance of hook worm eggs to be deposited in the soil. The eggs when released into the soil hatch into the larvae. Hookworm infection occurs when the infective larvae penetrate the human skin. This infection is likely possible when people walk barefoot on soil contaminated with hookworm eggs (Cappello, 2004). Infections with hookworm are usually asymptomatic ... • 4. The Politics of Criminal Organizations Essay Criminal organizations penetrate democratic mechanisms and their systems of representation. Votes are extorted with threats and violence or Wheedled out of citizens in exchange for different kinds of incentives. Political Parties rely heavily on external funding. This dependence inevitably makes them susceptible to corruption (Allum and Siebert 2003). Accordingly, It is common to secure a number of votes in exchange for favors, Such as contracts for public works, promoting and scuttling legislation, Patronage, etc. (ibid.) All the regional commission of the Mafiahas to Do is to instruct which party to vote for, and tens of thousands of votes Will flood in for that party (Procura della Reppublica di Palermo 1994 in Allum and Seibert... Therefore, 90% of councils required investigation (Allum forthcoming Marasca, 2006, p. 12). In its most advanced form, organized crime is so thoroughly integrated into the economic, political, and social institutions of legitimate society that it may no longer be recognizable as a criminal enterprise. In the Most extreme cases, infiltration of politics by organized crime may lead to mixing among a country s political and criminal elites to the point Where OCG are able to wield political power. Van Dijk points out that in many parts of the world, grand corruption and organized crime are two Sides of the same coin. The relationship between organized crime and Politics can be seen as a system interaction : the interaction between a Representative of a criminal sub system, i.e. a Mafioso, and a politician from the political sub system. Godson (2006) also points out that When political establishment knowingly and regularly does business with gang leaders, or when professional Criminals are actually elected to power, as has happened in Sicily and Taiwan, the distinction (between the political establishments and the criminal underworld) is less straightforward. ... • 5. Why Is Benjamin Franklin Called The Picture Perfect... Nate Locatelli Mr. Pisenti Period 1 11/2/17 Benjamin Franklin was the picture perfect self made man. From seemingly nothing, he became a successful musician, author, scientist, and printer. In his free time, he helped found and build a country. The key to Franklin s success was his desire and his need to constantly improve himself on all fronts. His quest for excellence began at only the age of 20. It was then that he thought of a program that would motivate and push him to possess more virtuous habits. Since he was also a perfectionist, he drew up a list of 13 virtues, and created a chart on which to keep track of his progress in living them. Each week he would focus on one virtue while also keeping track of the others. He would then move on to the next virtue and so on, eventually going through four cycles of each of the virtues in a single year. When he failed to live up to the ... This helped Franklin focus on things he could do to serve his fellow man and help his society as he went about his daily routine. Franklin examined how he had spent his hours and whether he had done the good things he had planned on doing, as well as if he had taken action on spontaneous opportunities to lend others a helping hand. Benjamin Franklin s moral and social philosophies inspired and still inspire millions around the world. Becoming a self made man is a long and tough task. Improve yourself, which will then improve the society around you. Slight slip ups are impossible to avoid when trying to follow strict ideals. Franklin s purpose was to make people aware of their inclinations and to help them overcome the natural tendencies of themselves, which would limit our dependence on other people. • 8. Atrahasis Vs Gilgamesh The book of Genesis contains various creation, flood and patriarchal narratives. Genesis was written in a certain time and place, to a certain audience, with a certain meaning intended by the original author. However, Genesis wasn t the only source in regards to creation, flood and patriarchal narratives throughout the Near East during this time. In fact, the accounts in Genesis took place at a later time than some of the other literature in the Near East. It also could be argued that the authors of Genesis were influenced by the culture in their writings. The goal will be to show how each kind of narrative is both similar and dissimilar so that the Genesis narrative is brought more into focus and understood more clearly. What issues do... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Why or why not? The short answer to this question is yes. Genesis s flood story can be thought of as written by other couple sources, authors J and P (Hays 90). Author J is the older manuscript and Author P is the redactor. Author J is identified because of the use of Yahweh. Author P is likely the priestly redactor that would not use the holy name of Yahweh. Priest would instead us the word Lord. Another way source division is identifiable is through doublets that seem to occur throughout the Genesis narrative. Some of the doublets contradict one another therefore leading one to believe there are more than one author. For example, Author J states that seven pairs of ritually clean and one pair of unclean animals were taken aboard the Ark then 40 days of rain ensued. The later redactor, Author P , seems to transpose a different (Babylonian) account of 2 pairs of animals and 150 days of rain (Hays 91) Best explanation is that P and J has been harmonized over time, both full stories, then redaction by a later ... A quote that really captures the true meaning of reciprocity is, People gave with the expectation of taking and took with the expectation of giving (Harris 1989). This is seen across many different cultures and time periods. Nevertheless, they are not all the same, and may not generate equivalent types of relationships, for social and personal value. In this essay we will look at two separate acts of reciprocity; how they work, and what they provide. First, a look into the Gebusi sister exchange, and then into the Kawelka s moka ceremony. Among the Kawelka tribe, reciprocity serves as a way of gaining prestige and shaming rivals (Cronk 1988). This form of exchange serves as way of social superiority. Their ritual is called the moka; this is a very important ceremony to their tribe. The reason why Ongka so wanted to give his big moka, is that only by giving can he earn fame and status for his tribe and for him (Niarn 1974). The moka ceremony is a formal interaction in which one man gives more than he received from another, as a pay back of debt, as well as a trump to their social status. However, the return of the moka cannot happen after a long period of time, doing so immediately would serve as a desire to cut the strings and end the relationship. It is expected that the debt will be repaid when the time comes, if it is not the one who has not repaid the debt will lose their support and status as a big man . The goal of the moka is to eventually become a big man , also known as a tribal leader (Cronk 1988). Because of its cost and difп¬Ѓculty with termination, STP is rarely used in Ethernet networks. STP is primarily used in Europe. The following summarizes the features of STP cable: Speed and throughput 10 to 100 Mbps Average cost per node Moderately expensive Media and connector size Medium to large Maximum cable length 100 m (short) When comparing UTP and STP, keep the following points in mind: The speed of both types of cable is usually satisfactory for local area distances. These are the least expensive media for data communication. UTP is less expensive than STP. Because most buildings are already wired with UTP, many transmission standards are adapted to use it, to avoid costly rewiring with an alternative cable type. Coaxial Cable Coaxial cable consists of a hollow outer cylindrical conductor that surrounds a single inner wire made of two conducting elements. One of these elements, located in the center of the cable, is a copper conductor. Surrounding the copper conductor is a layer of flexible insulation. Over this insulating ... The range of yearly returns for FNCMX is 85 as compared to a range of only 45.33 for FFRHX. The high range for FNCMX can be attributed to the fluctuation of the stock market where the highs and lows throughout the year have lasting impacts on the yearly returns. When it comes to the issue of education, many people from educators to students to parents to administrators to politicians have different ideas as to what makes for the best education. According to Samantha Moore, in her evaluation essay titled There s no place like home, she argues that homeschooling provides a better educational experience for students over the public schoolsystem. Specifically she states that evaluating homeschooling through aesthetic, moral, and practical criteria favors homeschooling over public school (Moore, 2017, p. 2). In other words, she expresses that homeschooling is better morally, is cheaper and more convenient, and is safer. While I agree that for some students faced with certain situations, homeschooling is the better option, I disagree with Moore s overall claim that homeschooling is the best option for students over public education. By examining the examples from her evaluation essay in a different way, it will become clear that the American public school system is actually the best option when it comes to students education. Although Moore makes a point that homeschooled students are often involved in various activities outside of their home, allowing them the social skills that the majority of people believe they lack, her argument is flawed in the sense that those activities allowing ... Kozak conducted all three of the of the pieces; Danse Macabre Op 40 by Camille Saint SaГ«ns (1835 to 1921), Isle of the Dead, Op. 29 by Sergei Rachmaninoff which is my favorite out of all three pieces (1873 to 1943), and Symphony No. 5, Op. 107 by Felix Mendelssohn (1809 to 1847). Walking into the concert hall I was flabbergasted. The size of the room just amazed me and the stage was fantastic to say the least. Made me more excited for the show to start! As I sat down in my seat I noticed all the types of people in the concert hall were dressed in many different sets of attire. Elderly people were better dressed with their suits and dresses and pant suits where the younger people in the concert hall were still nicely dressed but were a little more casual. After what seemed like forever the lights finally began to go dim and I knew the show was about to start. In the first piece, Saint SaГ«ns, setting of the poem, the solo violin represents the devil who is playing his fiddle for the dance. The dance begins at the stroke of midnight in a graveyard. The harp begins the work with 12 strokes, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 50. The Debate Over the No Child Left Behind Act Essay The current debates surrounding the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 are both positive and negative. Many politicians and people that previously supported the Act are now standing against it. In the beginning many supported the new Act because everyone was aware that a change needed to happen in the educationsystem and the proposal of No Child Left Behind seemed like the answer we were looking for. As the No Child Left Behind requirements began to be felt in the school systems across America and the assessments results started coming in, everyone took a step back and really began to look at the new law. The results were not what everyone expected, what was once considered an answer was now becoming the problem. The National ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is another glitch of No Child Left Behind, the law wanted school to assess their students on a yearly basis to see who they rated among national levels but they did not give any assistance or guidance on how they wanted to school to implement this. Schools were now not only forced to implement the changes to meet the requirement of No Child Left Behind, now they had to come up with a way to measure their progress. This only added to the negative views of the new law and has been a sore spot among debaters in Washington and the school system. According to a nationwide poll released almost 70 percent of American adults who say they are familiar with the federal No Child Left Behind Act believe it has had no effect or is actually hurting public schools (Greifner, 2006). Many parents began to see the effects this new law had on their children. The added stress of testing that would determine if you passed or failed your grade, homework by the boatloads, and normal childhood activities such as recess were becoming a thing of the past. Parents and educators began to speak out against the Act and have gone to their states political parties to try and encourage them to make a change. Some states have listened to the voices opposing No Child Left Behind and have sought waivers from the federal government to no longer participate or limit their participation with the law. Even with the negative perceptions of No Child Left Behind, there have been ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 53. A Brief Note On British Literature And Composition Akshat Piprottar British Literature and Composition Mr. McRae Essay #1 Doublethink in 1984 Hungry for absolute dominance over their people, the totalitarian government known as the Party implements various tools, whether physical or ideological, into the common man. One of these tools is the idea of doublethink, where, holding both the absolute truth and the truth implanted by the Party in their minds, any given person can believe two contradicting ideas at once. George Orwell, the author of 1984, successfully shows the reader how doublethink cannot be practiced. In one of the plentiful scenes where O Brien tortures Winston, Winston fails to doublethink properly. Between the electric shocks, O Brien, holding up four fingers, asks Winston to count how many fingers. Trying to instill the value of doublethink in Winston, O Brien actually further demonstrates how flawed doublethink is. Winston suppose[s] there are four (288), trying to see five if I [Winston] could . Winston says he really wants to see them [the five fingers] , yet he still fails. After an electric shock, Winston experiences a vision of a forest of fingers... moving in a sort of dance . Orwell uses a metaphor for Winston s state of thought; his hazy vision is really just uncertainty in his mind. Trying desperately to see five fingers, Winston still can only either see four fingers or a hazy in between. There is no way for him to see both four and five fingers at the same time. Orwell uses this very literal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

An Investigation into the Factors Affecting the Rate of the Reaction between Calcium Carbonate and Hydrochloric Acid A chemical reaction is the process by which atoms or groups of atoms are redistributed, resulting in a change in the molecular composition of substances. The reaction rate is how quickly a reaction occurs and this can be affected by four different factors: ВЎВ¤changing the surface area of any solids involved ВЎВ¤changing the concentration of reactants in solution ВЎВ¤changing the temperature at which it is carried out ВЎВ¤the use of a catalyst I am going to investigate into exactly how one of these variables affects the reaction rate and I believe the most suitable variable to change is the concentration of the solution as all ... The equipment should be set up as shown in the diagram below: The small marble chip will be placed in the conical flask first and then the hydrochloric acid will be poured into the flask and as soon as all the acid is in I will start the stop clock and put the bung on the flask. I will then watch the pencilled cross from and above and stop the clock at the exact moment that I can no longer see the circle. I will record this time in my results table and then set up the experiment for the next measurement. Modifications following preliminary experiment For my trial experiment, I placed one small marble chip in 50cm Гё of 1 molar hydrochloric acid and timed how long it took before a pencilled cross was no longer visible under a conical flask containing 10cm Гё of limewater.
