This document summarizes a study on the use of bottom ash from municipal solid waste incineration as a material for road construction. It discusses the large and growing quantities of municipal solid waste generated in India and issues with disposal. The study examines the geotechnical properties of bottom ash, which makes up the majority of residue from waste incineration. Tests are performed to determine properties like particle size distribution, specific gravity, optimum moisture content, and California bearing ratio to assess the suitability of bottom ash for use in road construction applications. The goal is to find an alternative use for bottom ash that addresses waste management problems.
