This document discusses improving congestion control in wireless sensor networks using a grid-based algorithm. It first provides background on wireless sensor networks and discusses how they are commonly organized into clusters to transmit data from sensor nodes to a base station. It then describes how grids can be formed by dividing the sensor field and designating a master node in each grid to route data, in order to improve network lifetime and reduce packet dropping. The goal of the paper is to analyze existing techniques for enhancing network lifetime and handling congestion using clustering and grid formation approaches.
