This document summarizes a study that assessed water quality in the Lower Vaigai River Basin in India using remote sensing and GIS techniques. Water samples were collected from 8 locations along the river and analyzed for 20 parameters including pH, electrical conductivity, total dissolved solids, nitrates, color, and odor. Thematic maps were generated from the data to visualize the spatial patterns of each parameter in the study area. The results showed variable water quality across the region, with some parameters like total dissolved solids exceeding recommended levels for drinking water at certain locations. The integrated use of field sampling and geospatial analysis provided insights into water quality management needs in the Lower Vaigai River Basin.
The basic reason behind the need to
monitor water quality is to verify whether the examined
water quality is suitable for intended usage or not. This
study is conducted on Al -Shamiya al- sharqi drain in
Diwaniya city in Iraq to make valid assessment for the
level of parameters measured and to realize their effects
on irrigation. In order to assess the drainage water
quality for irrigation purposes with a high accuracy, the
Irrigation Water Quality Index (IWQI) will be examined
and upgraded (integrated with GIS) to make a
classification for drainage water. For this purpose, ten
samples of drainage water were taken from different ten
location of the stuay area. The collected samples were
analyzed chemically for different elements which affect
water quality for irrigation.These elements are :
Calcium(Ca+2), Sodium(Na+
), Magnesium(Mg+2),
Chloride( ), Potassium(K+
), Bicarbonate(HCO3),
Nitrate(NO3), Sulfate( , Phosphate( , Electrical
Conductivity(EC), Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Total
Suspended Solids (TSS) and pH-values (PH). Sodium
Adsorption Ratio (SAR) and Sodium Content (Na%)
have been also calculated. Results suggest that, the use of
GIS and Water Quality Index (WQI) methods could
provide an extremely interesting as well as efficient tool
to water resource management. The results analysis of
(IWQI) maps confirms that: 52% of the drainage water
in study area falls within the "Low restriction" (LR) and
47%of study area has water with (Moderate
restriction)(MR),While 1% of drainage water in the
study area classified as (Sever restriction) (SR). So, the
drainage water should be used with the soil having high
permeability with some constraints imposed on types of
plant for specified tolerance of salts

Ground water is the principal source of drinking water in our country and indispensable source of our life. The quality of water is of vital concern for mankind, since it is directly linked to human welfare. The present work investigated various physiochemical parameters of villages of Visnagar taluka of Mehsana district, Gujarat. Because of north Gujarat is affected by various water quality parameters like fluoride is high in many parts of north Gujarat. A total of 50 water samples will be collected from the tube wells for post-monsoon season and analyzed for the various physiochemical parameters like pH, electrical conductivity (EC), nitrate (NO3-), magnesium (Mg2+), Calcium (Ca2+), hardness, and alkalinity, sulphates (SO42-), chloride (Cl-), sodium (Na+), potassium (K+), Fluoride (F-) and total dissolved solids (TDS). The result were compared with standards prescribed by IS: 10500(2012). It was found that the ground water contaminated at 16 sampling sites namely Khadalpur, Chhogala, Sunshi, Denap, Jetalvasana, Tarabh, Visnagar Rural, Bhalak, Kamalpur (GOT), Kamalpur (KHA), Kansa, Magaroda, Pudgam, Sadutala, Thalota, Vadu while other 34 sampling sites showed physiochemical parameters within the water quality standards and quality of water is good so it is fit for drinking uses.

Sewage treatment plant under study has 9 MLD capacity and is located in Gurgaon. It receives sewage from the surrounding residential areas and after three stage treatment, treated effluent is supplied back to meet water requirement for various purposes. This has certainly reduced dependency on the precious underground water and thereby reducing the burden and saving environment. For performance evaluation of the sewage treatment plant samples were collected at various stages i.e., at inlet raw sewage, after primary treatment, secondary treatment and after tertiary treatment. Samples were tested to measure various parameters like pH, Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Dissolved Oxygen (DO), Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Total Kjedahl Nitrogen (TKN), Total Coliform, Phosphorous and Oil & Grease. Data on above parameters were observed and collected for three months November, 2014 to January, 2015. All these treatment are adding a huge cost to the recycled water. Hence the present study is aimed to provide alternatives to reduce the cost input. Also studies were made to find out ways by minimizing processes and stages of treatment.

Leakage is a major safety issue that, if left unchecked, may result in dam failure by various mechanisms. There is enormous pressure on dam operators to repair leaks without significant delays. Frequently, the need to reduce the risk of failure or control water loss has led to costly remedial repairs that are planned and executed without a complete understanding of the problem. A lack of appropriate leakage investigation and monitoring can result in repairs that are unsuccessful in controlling or reducing leakage.
In the last few decades, a series of new hydrological techniques have been developed to help in the assessment of leakage and seepage in dams. It is important to make these techniques available to the engineers responsible for dam construction and management so that they become aware of these tools. The available literature on dam leak studies is relatively limited with regard to the use of these techniques when assessing dam leakage. It is difficult to find case studies that discuss integrating the use of several of these techniques in comprehensive evaluations that lead to successful leakage mitigation. These techniques allow identification of recharge zones, preferential paths, and transit times, which aid in monitoring and mitigating the dam leakage.
The paper includes description of the techniques and projects in India involving prevention and detection of dam and reservoir leakage, including leakage evaluation, analysis, design, construction, and post-construction verification of repairs.
Status of Heavy metal pollution in Mithi river: Then and NowIJRES Journal
The Mithi River runs through the heart of suburban Mumbai. Its path of flow has been severely
damaged due to industrialization and urbanization. The quality of water has been deteriorating ever since. The
Municipal and industrial effluents are discharged in unchecked amounts. The municipal discharge comprises
untreated domestic and sewage wastes whereas the industries are majorly discharge chemicals and other toxic
effluents which are responsible in increasing the metal load of the river. In the current study, the water is
analysed for heavy metals- Copper, Cadmium, Chromium, Lead and Nickel. It also includes a brief
understanding on the fluctuations that have occurred in the heavy metal pollution, through the compilation of
studies carried out in the area previously.

the area extent of the lakes are estimated from the multitemporal satellite images. Surface water temperature
patterns of the lakes are mapped and anomalies are identified. Emphasis is given on the investigation of
capabilities of IRS LISS III or Landsat TM/ETM+ or OCEANSAT-1(IRS-P4) data in monitoring water quality of
lakes. A classification scheme regarding various water quality parameters (Secchi depth, Turbitidity,
Chlorophylle –α and Total Total phosphorus) is created based on combinations of different bands.

A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.
