Prediction of biodegradability ratios in wastewater treatment plant of Skhira...Agriculture Journal IJOEAR
— In this note, our study was carried out by physico-chemical monitoring in terms of organic matter. The mean objective is to evaluate the performance of the Skhirat wastewater treatment plant based on the ratios COD/BOD and BOD/COD in order to know the degree of biodegradability and to make the decision about the treatment model to choose. In fact, the performances acquired in terms of COD and BOD are respectively of the order of 87.26% and 88.35%; what is significant downstream of this station that we take advantage of to irrigate several green spaces by saving all conventional water resources. In addition, the organic material is easily biodegradable with ratios of COD/BOD and BOD/COD respectively of about 2.05 and 0.49. This allows us to adopt an appropriate biological treatment by design and sizing suitable structures.

Water plays a significant role in the human and animal life it is one of the prominent components of environment without which life is not possible in this earth but persistent glitches of today are water scarcity. In the last few decades, limitless urbanization has caused a serious pollution problem due to the disposal of sewage to the water bodies. The present study focused on the physico chemical parameters of wastewater of washing machine for the households of residential building in Nasik. Examination have been be performed on effluent on its physical appearance such as pH, turbidity, TDS, while chemical tests should be perform for its COD, BOD, Oil and Grease, Conductivity, Total Hardness, Calcium, Magnesium, dissolved oxygen, alkalinity, Sulphate, Iron, Lead, Zinc, DO and Nitrate. The analysis shows the parameters have exceed the permissible limit of recycle reuse of water in pH, COD, BOD, Turbidity, TDS, Total Hardness, DO so there is a need for an appropriate treatment system to reuse the washing machine effluent in the case study area. study area, during February - March 2015. The high concentration of
alkalinity (209 mg/L) and hardness (220 mg/l) shows the severe condition of river water due to discharge of Industrial effluent.
Heavy metal or toxic metal concentration was found negligible while in sample no 1 the concentrations of Pb (0.811 mg/l), Cr
(0.642 mg/l), Fe (0.498 mg/l), Zn (0.326 mg/l) and Mn (0.3 mg/l). In other locations some metal concentrations were found below
the detectable limit although iron appeared in a small quantity. Hence it is concluded that there is an adverse condition of river
water environment due to industrial activities and industrial effluent discharge without treatment be supposed to be stopped to
protect the valuable river water from contamination.

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.
