In this paper, the unsteady motion of a spherical particle rolling down an inclined tube in a
Newtonian fluid for a range of Reynolds numbers was solved using a simulation method called
the Differential Transformation Method (DTM). The concept of differential transformation is
briefly introduced, and then we employed it to derive solution of nonlinear equation. The
obtained results for displacement, velocity and acceleration of the motion from DTM are
compared with those from numerical solution to verify the accuracy of the proposed method.
The effects of particle diameter (size), continues phase viscosity and inclination angles was
studied. As an important result it was found that the inclination angle does not affect the
acceleration duration. The results reveal that the Differential Transformation Method can achieve suitable results in predicting the solution of such problems.
Numerical Analysis of Header Configuration of the Plate-Fin Heat ExchangerIJMER
Numerical analysis of a plate fin heat exchanger accounting for the effect of fluid flow
maldistribution onthe inlet header configuration of the heat exchanger is investigated. In this analysis , it
was found that flow maldistribution has effect on the flow perpendicular to its velocity direction. The peak
velocity occurs in the central zone of the header while the velocityalong the perpendicular direction of the
inlet flow diminishes more and more. By this investigation, the results of the flow maldistribution are
presented for a plate fin heat exchangerwhich is reduced as compare to theexisting configuration of the

CFD Analysis for Heat Transfer Enhancement of a Corrugated Plate Heat Exchang...ijtsrd
The flow properties of heat transfer across such corrugated channels are very distinct from parallel plate channels. The primary flow direction is parallel to the waviness of the channel of the corrugated channel, although the local flow direction is still changed due to the waviness of the channel. By flow recirculation, separation and re attachment, the thermal boundary layer formed on its walls is regularly disrupted and the convective heat transfer coefficient is thus increased. In this work, in corrugated channels, the convective heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics of flow have been tested numerically. On channels of uniform heat flux and fixed corrugation over a Reynolds number spectrum, 10000 = Re = 30000, numerical research was conducted. The impacts of channel configuration, variation in Reynold’s number, and concentration variations of nanoparticles in base fluid on heat transfer are discussed. As opposed to the traditional corrugated channel, a major heat transfer gain was associated with the proposed corrugated channel. Based on the nanofluid concentration, Reynold number and channel configuration of the corrugated channel, the average Nusselt number increased by a factor of 2.2 up to 2.8 compared to that of the semi circular corrugated channel. Compared with the effect of channel configuration variation, triangular corrugated channel was the best Nusselt numbers, followed by the shape Semi circular Triangular , and Semi circular corrugated channel with the lowest results. CFD Analysis Of Multi-Phase Flow And Its MeasurementsIOSR Journals
Multiphase flow occurs when more than one material is present in a flow field and the materials are
present in different physical states of matter or are present in the same physical state of matter but with distinct
chemical properties. The materials present in multiphase flow are often identified as belonging to the primary
or secondary phases. The primary phase is characterized as the phase that is continuous about, or enveloping
of, the secondary phase. The secondary phase is thought to be the material that is distributed throughout the
primary phase. Each phase present in multiphase flow may be either laminar or turbulent, which leads to a
variety of potential flow regimes for multiple phases in the same channel. Project is based on two-phase flow
and its measurement (water + air/vapor). This is frequently encountered in thermal and nuclear power plants,

CFD Simulation and Analysis of Fluid Flow Parameters within a Y-Shaped Branch...IOSR Journals
Plumbing system use pipe fittings to connect straight pipe or tubing section for regulating or measuring fluid flow. Y (wye)-shape fitting is one of the important component in the plumbing system. A wye branch allows splitting a branch line equally in two directions. The opening sizes can vary for different situations for instance in situation where a large main line needs to be split into two smaller branches. The wye shape fitting will convert into T shape fitting when the included angle between two pipe branches is 180°. In the present work, effect of angle of turn/bend for a Y-shape pipe will be studied computationally using ANSYS CFX software. For the analysis, all the three pipe branches of 1 inch internal diameter are selected along with equal length so that only the effect of bend angle at 450, 600, 900 and 1800 can be studied. Water as a fluid is selected which flows through the plumbing system. The effect of bend angle, pipe diameter, pipe length, Reynolds number on the resistance coefficient is studied. It was observed that resistance coefficient vary with the change in flow

Evaluation of Air Flow Characteristics of Aerostatic Thrust Porous Bearings: A Numerical Approach by Marcelo Gustavo Coelho Resende, Leandro José da Silva, Cláudio de Castro Pellegrini and Túlio Hallak Panzera* in Evolutions in Mechanical Engineering: Crimson Publishers_ Structural engineering
Aerostatic porous bearings have been investigated in the last decades for precision engineering designs, since these bearings offer zero-friction and high operating speeds, as well as providing a very precise positioning system without external influence. Numerical methods such as CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) play an important role in the design and behavior analysis of porous aerostatic bearings, being possible to adjust the geometry and characteristics of the porous restrictor even before its manufacture In the present work, the behavior of the gas at the inlet and outlet of a porous thrust bearing made of cementitious composites is analysed by numerical simulation using CFD method. The results reveal a stable behavior of the cementitious porous bearing and a good correlation between numerical and experimental load capacities.

Numerical Investigation of Turbulent Flow over a Rotating Circular Cylinder u...IJERA Editor
Recent advancements in the field of computational fluid mechanics and the availability of high performance with regard to rotating software computing cylinders (RCs) have drawn attention to the field of flow accelerated corrosion. (FAC). Current studies aim to numerically predict turbulent flow characteristics around the rotating cylinder and the concomitant effects on the wall shear stresses and local mass fraction of inhibitors that are directly related to corrosion rate. This 3-D numerical investigation was carried out using the commercial CFX package from which the where SST turbulence model was selected to compute the unknown Reynolds stresses term in the incompressible and viscid form of the Navier-Stokes equation. The effect of three different cylinder rotation speeds and three brine temperatures on the wall shear stress and on brine mixing is reported. Results of the simulations revealed that both cylinder rotation speed and the temperature of the brine significantly affect wall shear stress and mixing of the inhibitor that in turn affects corrosion rate
Effect of Turbulence Model in Numerical Simulation of Single Round Jet at Low...ijceronline
Single axi-symmetric round jet flow was analyzed using computational techniques and validated with experimental results to establish the suitable turbulence model for simulation of low Reynolds number jets exiting from fully developed pipe. This work is performed as an initial study before computationally simulating multiple impinging jets. To this end a single round jet at Reynolds number of 7500 exiting from a fully developed pipe and entering into stationary air was modeled. Velocity and turbulence profiles were extracted from the simulation and validated with in-house experimental results. It was observed that although all the four turbulence models studied were able to closely predict the mean velocity field, they were not able to accurately predict the turbulence intensity distributions. From the models studied, it was concluded that SST k- ω model was the best turbulence model for simulating low Reynolds number jet flow exiting from fully developed pipe.

Abstract Water model experiments have been carried out in a 1/30th scaled down model of the 100 ton LD converter in order to investigate the effect of changing the lance height and the gas flow rate on the penetration depth of liquid with different exit diameters. It is found the penetration depth increases with decreasing nozzle diameter, decreasing the lance height and with increase the gas flow rate. Gas jets impinging onto a gas–liquid interface of a liquid pool are also studied using computational fluid dynamics modeling, which aims to obtain a better understanding of the behavior of the gas jets. The gas and liquid flows are modeled using the volume of fluid technique. The governing equations in the axisymmetric cylindrical coordinates are solved by the CFD simulation using FLUENT. The computed results are compared with experimental result and it isfound a good match with all the data. Keywords: LD process, Water Modeling, Penetration Depth, Volume of Fluid, CFD.

Numerical analysis for two phase flow distribution headers in heat exchangerseSAT Journals
Abstract A flow header having number of multiple small branch pipes are commonly used in heat exchangers and boilers. In beginning the headers were designed based on the assumption that the fluid distribute equally to all lateral pipes. In practical situation the flow is not uniform and equal in all lateral pipes. Mal distribution of flow in heat exchangers significantly affects their performance. Non-uniform flow distribution from header to the branch pipes in a flow system will lead to 25% decrease in effectiveness of a cross flow heat exchanger. Mal distribution of flow in the header is influenced by the geometric parameters and operating conditions of the header. In this work the flow distribution among the branch pipes of dividing flow header system is analyzed for two phase flow condition. In the two phase flow condition, the effect of change in geometric cross sectional shape of the header (circular, square), inlet flow velocities are varied to find the flow mal distribution through the lateral pipes are investigated with the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics software. Abstract
Liquid distributors which on the top the wet curtain are widely used in industry field especially in the packed tower and solution dehumidifier. Consequently, liquid distributors play a major role. Many scholars devote to design and analyze the performance of liquid distributor in order to improve distribute liquid capacity of the liquid distributor. The velocity or the flow of the outlet is very important for the performance of the liquid distributor which directly affects the performance of the solution dehumidifier, however, the velocity is difficult to quantify unless the flow field is known. Therefore outflow through the outlet of liquid distributors has been simulated using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method. As first part of the project a new kind of liquid distributor which is used mine solution dehumidifier is proposed based on the related theory.
In a second part of the project, through the Fluid-solid coupled simulation method, the velocity of the liquid distributor outlet and the stress of the orifice plate were analyzed based on the Fluid-solid coupled theory. The velocity and the stress were obtained which indicated that orifice plate liquid distributor had the well distribute liquid capacity. These results were validated by experimental results.
In a third part of the project, the experiment was carried out to analyze the capacity of the orifice plate liquid distributor. In this paper, the performance of the liquid distributor of the mine solution dehumidifier was analyzed by the simulation and experimental methods, which provide a new idea and method for the design and analysis of distributor. CFD and EXPERIMENTAL ANALYSIS of VORTEX SHEDDING BEHIND D-SHAPED CYLINDERAM Publications
The flow around bluff bodies is an area of great research of scientists for several years. Vortex shedding is
one of the most challenging phenomenon in turbulent flows. This phenomenon was first studied by Strouhal. Many
researchers have modeled the various objects as cylinders with different cross-sections among which square and
circular cylinders were the most interested sections to study the vortex shedding phenomenon. The Vortex Shedding
frequency depends on different aspects of the flow field such as the end conditions, blockage ratio of the flow passage,
and width to height ratio. This case studies the wave development behind a D-Shaped cylinder, at different Reynolds
numbers, for which we expect a vortex street in the wake of the D-Shaped cylinder, the well known as von Kármán
Street. This body typically serves some vital operational function in aerodynamic. In circular cylinder flow separation
point changes with Reynolds number but in D-Shaped cylinder there is fix flow separation point. So there is more
wake steadiness in D-Shaped cylinder as compared to Circular cylinder and drag reduction because of wake
steadiness. In the present work CFD simulation is carried out for flow past a D-Shaped cylinder to see the wake
behavior. The Reynolds number regime currently studied corresponds to low Reynolds number, laminar and
nominally two-dimensional wake. The fluid domain is a two-dimensional plane with a D-Shaped cylinder of
dimensions B=90mm, H=80mm and L=200mm. CFD calculations of the 2-D flow past the D-Shaped cylinder are
presented and results are validated by comparing with Experimental results of pressure distribution on cylinder
surface. The experimentation is carried out using small open type wind tunnel. The flow visualization is done by
smoke visualization technique. Results are presented for various B/H ratios and Reynolds numbers. The variation of
Strouhal number with Reynolds number is found from the analysis. The focus of the present research is on reducing
the wake unsteadiness.

Buying new cosmetic products is difficult. It can even be scary for those who have sensitive skin and are prone to skin trouble. The information needed to alleviate this problem is on the back of each product, but it's thought to interpret those ingredient lists unless you have a background in chemistry.
Instead of buying and hoping for the best, we can use data science to help us predict which products may be good fits for us. It includes various function programs to do the above mentioned tasks.
Data file handling has been effectively used in the program.
The automated cosmetic shop management system should deal with the automation of general workflow and administration process of the shop. The main processes of the system focus on customer's request where the system is able to search the most appropriate products and deliver it to the customers. It should help the employees to quickly identify the list of cosmetic product that have reached the minimum quantity and also keep a track of expired date for each cosmetic product. It should help the employees to find the rack number in which the product is placed. It is also Faster and more efficient way.

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!
Work done in cooperation with James Malloy and David Moelling from Tetra Engineering.
