This document summarizes a research study that analyzed the effectiveness of a constructivist instructional approach on student achievement in mathematics compared to a traditional approach. Sixty students participated in the study, with the experimental group receiving instruction through constructivist methods while the control group used traditional methods. Students were tested before and after using an achievement test, and results were analyzed using ANOVA and ANCOVA statistical techniques. The study found that the constructivist approach led to significantly higher achievement scores compared to the traditional approach. Additionally, the constructivist approach was equally effective for both male and female students. Therefore, the study concluded that a constructivist instructional model is more effective for teaching mathematics than a conventional teaching method.
