This document discusses the design of basic filter types using MATLAB and the FDA filter design tool. It begins by introducing filters and classifying them as either active or passive. It then provides details on low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, and band-stop filters. The methodology section describes the process for designing infinite impulse response (IIR) Butterworth filters and finite impulse response (FIR) filters using a Hamming window in MATLAB. Sample code is provided for an IIR low-pass Butterworth filter. The results and discussion section presents the output of designing and analyzing this low-pass filter.
