The interviewee enjoyed conducting the interview and getting detailed responses to their questions. However, there were also challenges like background noises making it difficult to record properly. Things that went well included getting in-depth answers and an enthusiastic interview subject. Things that didn't go as well were using a phone to record which picked up outside sounds, reading a script which prevented eye contact, and having the microphone too far away. The interviewee learned to ask in-depth questions, find enthusiastic subjects, and structure interviews professionally, lessons they can apply to their own project. Being interviewed helped the interviewee understand the need to get interviewees to expand on their answers for more information.
2. What did you enjoy about conducting the
interview?
I enjoyed that I was able to ask questions about a subject and get a detailed response and that I could also get
them to develop there answer even more in further detail when I needed them to. I enjoyed that when I could
get trust worthy information about a subject that I don’t know as anyone could make a website. However there
was a lot of things that I didn’t like about the interview one of these would be that sometimes it was difficult to
pick up some of the interview as sometimes there was noises in the background this made me have to retake
some of the footage, or either sometimes some of the script was miss read and this lead to me losing some
time on my product.
3. Discuss 3 things you think went well
• The detail of the answers that I got where very good as they were all answered in detail and they were also
developed, this gave me even more detail on the subject
• The person I chose to interview was very enthusiastic about the subject this made the whole interview
sound a lot better and more professional as I had someone who was engaging in the subject
• The location that I dd the interview in as there wasn’t any sound inside that would interrupt the interview
and also it didn’t echo
4. Discuss 3 things you think didn’t work
well
• Doing it as a voice memo on my phone next time I do it I will have it written down instead as the phone was
picking up different sounds from outside the room and this interrupted the interview
• Reading from a script when asking questions as when I was reading I wasn’t facing the microphone and
therefore it didn’t pick up everything I said and this would have made it very difficult to understand the
question and the response to it this would have bored the audience and make them want to stop listening to
it
• Having the microphone to far away this was bad as you can barely hear the questions and the answers that
have been said in the interview. Next time I do this I will have the microphone closer so it can then pick up
the interview better as this will make it sound a lot more professional to the audience
5. Outline at least 3 points you have learned
from this and can apply to your project
• I learnt how to ask questions in depth this will be very good for my project as I will know how to find the
answers that I am wanting to find, this will be useful for my project as I will be able to make the interview
even more interesting and more eye catching for the audience
• I have learnt to find someone that is enthusiastic about the subject as this will make them engage more with
the project then also I will have a lot more interesting facts about it, this is very useful when it comes to my
project as it makes the product look more creative and professional
• As I haven’t really conducted many interviews before this was a great start for me because I have now learnt
how to put together an interview and how to structure it in a professional way and now for when it comes to
my production I will already be ahead for my interview and will know how I will produce it and this will result
in a better product
6. Once it was time for me to be interviewed I wasn’t very confident as I don’t like being filmed as I was put on
the spot when I was being asked questions, however it wasn’t so bad as it was on a subject that I was very
confident with this helped me as I was able to answer the questions in detail and make it more interesting for
the audience. Furthermore the questions that I was asked helped me a lot as I was able to add even more
detail to my answers and have a lot more detail in my response due to the fact that the interviewer was asking
me to develop my answers in further detail and I did so. The thing that I found out to do in interviews that I
learnt from doing one was to get the answer in further detail as I needed the interviewer to develop on their
response as this is what happened to me this allows for more information to be said.
What was it like being interviewed? How has this
informed your process for when you interview someone
else?
