Nathan will create a 3-5 minute music video for an existing song. He will also produce related merchandise. To research the project, Nathan will analyze how other music videos use effects, props, transitions, and actor body language. He will compare his work to professional music videos and get peer feedback to evaluate his strengths and weaknesses. Nathan aims to create 5 total products to demonstrate his film and print design skills.

Main area of activity:
I will be working mainly in film and print based products as I am strong in print based products
such as merch and more that I can do in this product and then throughout this final year I have
been prioritising film-based products and I have a lot of strengths and ideas in both topics
.
Rationale:
For the first-year majority of what I made was all print based and I learnt how to make a still image
look appealing and creative to my audience using Photoshop as I utilized more advanced skills.
For example, when creating posters, I was adding drop shadows and changing the colour
schemes to make it look professional and I found out how useful this was to show what my product
was for. Furthermore, for my last product last year I decided to create a watch advert with posters
around it and it worked very well I learnt how to use light effects to my advantage and how to
capture what I wanted the audience to see. Then for this final year I have prioritised film based
products this has helped me as I now know how to sue different camera angles to my advantage
and make the product more entertaining for my audience, I also learn how to sue premier pro more
efficiently in my products which has helped me a lot and I have done it in this structure so when it
came to my FMP I would have a lot of various products and ideas that I could create.
Project Concept:
I am going to be making a music video of an existing song I will also be creating merchandise to
go with the video I am thinking of the video to be about 3-5 minutes long and to then also create
some posters/ magazines and some merch to go with the video so in total I will be aiming at 5
products in the end. Before I create these products, I will need to do some research, such as how
the producers make their videos and what effects/ props they use to do so. I will also be
researching how other producers have created their music videos such as what sort of transitions
they are using and how they have edited their video. When I have done this, I will then look at how
the actors are moving in the videos, and I will be watching their body language and see how it
changes when the song is different such as a different genre to on so I will look at a hip-hop/rap
and a pop music video and I will look at how they are different as they both will attract an entirely
different audience.
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed:
I will be getting some of my peers to look at my work and tell me the strengths and weaknesses of
my product that I have created I will then be comparing the overall product to an existing product
that was made by a professional and see how they differ with editing skills and colour schemes
and more. When I have done this, I will be thinking about how I can improve on it next time and
seeing what my strengths where so I know what I can use again when I come to create something
like this as I will have more of an idea of what the audience likes to see when watching these types
of products. After this I will then go on and compare my work with one of my peers that have done
something like what I have created.
