Patellar Calcar
Patellar calcar is a curvilinear condensation of bone trabeculae under the lateral patellar facet. It helps
the stress distribution of patellofemoral joint, and regarded as part of the compressive trabecular
system which is similar to the function of femoral calcar(Collins et al., 2014), the prevalence of
patellar calcar is 81%(Collins et al., 2014). Patellar calcar appears as a sclerotic line on CT and
hypointense band on all sequences on MRI. It is best visualized on non fat suppressed proton density

Pros And Cons Of Exhaust Headers
Many muscle car owners grapple with the decision to replace the factory exhaust manifolds with
headers. For those planning to [take part in a survivor class competition] the choice is obvious to keep
the original equipment. However, casual owners with vintage muscle cars from the 60s and 70s, enjoy
the ferocious sound and power from headers. Here we ll talk about the pros and cons of upgrading the
stock exhaust parts with aftermarket solutions. We ll also discuss why these upgrades cause problems
and don t produce the desired results. What are Exhaust Headers They design high performance
exhaust headers to increase engine efficiency. This is accomplished by allowing the free flowing exit
of exhaust gases after combustion is complete. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This reduces back pressure, but can interfere with other auto parts. Let me provide a nightmare
example. On the [1970s Dodge Dart Swinger] with a 340 small block, installing headers is difficult.
Buying a complete kit designed by a Mopar specialist for this model Dart doesn t make it easier. The
first problem is you have to lift the engine with a hoist to install them. Interference with the upper
control arms and the tie rods is yet another issue. After completing the operation, the problems began
to surface. To clear some suspension parts the headers had now become the lowest part of the
automobile. After going over a few speed bumps the tubes that serviced the front cylinders were
completely smashed closed. Instead of increasing efficiency the end result was exactly the opposite.
Reasons to Pass on High performance Headers If reviewing the above information didn t talk you out
of installing aftermarket headers, I have a couple more issues to make clear. Classic muscle car
enthusiasts keep the automobile original to preserve the value. If you do install aftermarket high
performance parts label and save the original factory

The Background Of The Rorschach Inkblot Test
Background: German psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, Hermann Rorschach, was the brains behind the
commonly known, Rorschach Inkblot Test . The Inkblot Test was designed and published in 1927 and
is comprised of ten inkblots projected on cards with five of them being in black and white and the
other five in color. The purpose of this test is to be able to assess underlying psychological issues that
someone might be reluctant to divulge directly. This test developed into a test that assesses personality
traits of individuals ranging from ages five to adults by means of projecting their own emotions onto
these unambiguous figures . Originally, Rorschach designed this test to produce a profile for people
suffering from mental disorders, like schizophrenia and Rorschach himself was dissatisfied with using
it as a projective test. The combination of altering a test into something it was not designed to do and
the test yielding extremely subjective and variable responses, it has stirred up quite a bit of
controversy as to whether this psychological measure is actually reliable and valid. In an effort to give
this test validity, many tried to create a scoring system to provide reliability and validity. None seemed
to be successful alone, however in 1973, American Psychologist, John E. Exner M.S., B.S., devised a
scoring system in which he combined the best components of the main five scoring systems at the
time. Exner published the paper, The Rorschach: A Comprehensive System,

Galaxy Toys Chapter Summaries
Summary
Galaxy Toys, the largest privately owned toy company in the USA, has been under the same
management for over thirty years, and has undergone notable changes in management style in that
time. Bart Aldrin has brought with him techniques and a management style that have not only
improved the methodology of toy assembly, but also optimized shipping processes for the company
during his time as a manager. In the late 1980 s and early 90 s, there was a major shift in management
that inspired Aldrin and other managers to reconsider their management approach. When American
run companies began to suffer in the late 1980 s, Aldrin implemented the principles of Theory Z, and
revitalized the company from within. Upon Aldrin s retirement, Joyce Barnhart will replace him and
lead the company towards the future utilizing 21st century management principles.
Part One
Up until the late 1980 s and early 90 s, management at Galaxy Toys focused heavily on task efficiency
implemented training methods designed to ensure employees were highly specialized, and highly
efficient, at their tasks. Since then, advancements in technology, threats by workers to unionize, a
greater demand for employee management participation, work life balance and a general shift in
employee workplace values, as well as globalization have created a need for management to
reevaluate their style yet again. In 1981, William Ouchi s book, Theory Z: How American Business

The Teachings Of Phaedrus And Alcibiades
Phaedrus, an aristocrat, takes the stage first at the symposium. He explains that Erōs is one of the
primordial gods, and that the love between a boy and a lover is the greatest love that exists. The lover
is meant to guide the boy, and the two must lead each other to examine themselves and feel ashamed.
...[The boy] is especially ashamed before his lover when he is caught in something shameful (Sym.
178E). Phaedrus later adds that ...Love is...the most powerful in helping men gain virtue and
blessedness... (Sym. 180B). Alcibiades is the perfect example of shame when he speaks about
Socrates. He says that Socrates is the only man in the world who has made [him] feel shame... (Sym.

Alcibiades proves what Pausanias has said about Heavenly Love it s an attachment to the soul and
intelligence of a man, which Alcibiades feels toward Socrates. Eryximachus, a doctor, builds on
Pausanias speech. He says that Heavenly Love and those who feel it ...must be encouraged and
protected (Sym. 187D). Alcibiades encourages his own Heavenly Love for Socrates by praising
Socrates himself. He devotes his entire speech to the philosopher s image. There is not much else to
compare between Eryximachus and Alcibiades because Eryximachus simply adds to what Pausanias
has already stated. Aristophanes is a playwright who s eager to take a different approach to the origins
of erōs. He says that humans were once great beings with four arms, four legs, two faces and two sets
of sexual organs. There were male, female and androgynous beings, which were both male and
female. They became prideful and planned to ascend to the heavens and attack the gods. The gods
couldn t kill the humans because then no one would worship them. Zeus instead opts to cut the human
beings in two and asks Apollo to smooth out their edges. This decision created unforeseen
consequences. ...Each [human] longed for its own other half, and so they would throw themselves
together, wanting to grow together. In that condition they would die from hunger and general idleness,

Broken Chain Of Authority In Henry IV
In Henry IV, Part 1, Shakespeare establishes a theme of a broken chain of authority through Hotspur s
vivid language revealing the Percy s regret in originally supporting the illegitimate king. Despite
originally supporting him, Hotspur shows true disrespect for the King through symbolism whenever
he calls him a thorn and a cankered Bollingbroke. In Medieval times subordinates of the King were
supposed to show the utmost respect to their superior. Disrespecting and insulting your King was both
taboo and forbidden at the time. Hotspur s language shows how truly disgusted he is with his King.
Hotspur s juvenile insults show that the chain of Authority is indeed broken. Hotspur doesn t only
think his King is disgusting; Hotspur also implies

Jack the Egomaniac in William Golding s Lord of the Flies
Having an individual take control over a group is inevitable. Adolf Hitler took over Germany; at first
he was appointed as chancellor but the Germans let him get away with taking over as dictator
(Truemen , 2013). It was out of fear that the Germans let him be in power. In Lord of the Flies,
William Golding utilizes Jack as the most important character in the novel because of how his
psychological personality affects the plot. Jack, much like Hitler, gains control by instilling fear into
the others and takes over as leader. Throughout the whole book Golding continues to use Jack to twist
the story. He stands in the way of the other boys success in getting off of the island. Jack is motivated
by his id and seeks authority at all costs, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jack tries hard to turn everyone against Ralph by saying Hands up [...] whoever wants Ralph not to be
chief? (118). Jack pushes boundaries throughout the whole book because he was not elected to be
chief. He continuously tries to cast the group away from Ralph and begins to embrace savagery and
violence. Once again Jack displays himself as the id when he is trying to lure the others away from
Ralph so he can egotistically become in control of the group to get what he wants. Jack picks on Piggy
throughout the whole novel making Piggy seem inferior to everyone; when Jack compares Ralph to
Piggy, he is demoralizing him in front of the group and creating the illusion that he is weak. [Ralph is]
like Piggy. He says things like Piggy. He isn t a proper chief. (50). From the time Jack met Piggy; he
made him look foolish to the group, even the littleuns disrespected him. Now that Jack compares
Ralph to Piggy, he convinces the others that he is better fit as a leader than Ralph. Jack uses his
hunting skills as a bribe to wean the others away from Ralph to his own tribe. I gave you food [...] and
my hunters will protect you from the beast. Who will join my tribe? (139). He tricks the other boys
into thinking that he is going to be a better chief but they only go to his tribe because they are
mortified of the beast. Jack uses their fear of the beast to control them. He makes his tribe sound so
wonderful. Food and

Cyber Warfare Is A Major Concern For The Global Society
Cyber warfare is a major concern for the global society. The introduction, development and operation
of information and communication technologies have been accompanied by an increase in criminal
accomplishments. With regard to cyberspace, the Internet is increasely been used as a tool and
medium by organized crime. In order to commit cybercrime, cyber weapon are needed.
The first known cyber weapon to have ever been created was the Stuxnet virus that was discovered in
the late summer of 2010. To say it was a computer virus isn t right because a computer virus relies on
an unwitting victim to instill it, whereas a worm often spread over a computer network on its own.

This worm was an unprecedentedly masterful and malicious piece of code that conducted attacks in
three stages. It starts by targeted Microsoft Windows machines and networks while repeatedly
replicating itself. It then sought out Siemens Step7 software, which is also Windows based that is used
to program industrial control systems that operate equipment, such as centrifuges. And finally, it
compromised the programmable logic controllers. The worm s creators could therefore spy on the
industrial systems and even cause the fast spinning centrifuges to tear themselves apart, unknown to
the engineers at the plant.
In order for the original Stuxnet worm to work correctly it has to be introduced into a system, usually
via an infected USB thumb drive/flash drive. Once the USB thumb drive is inserted into a system, it
proceeds to infect all machines running Microsoft Windows. It does this by displaying a digital
certificate that seems to show that it comes from a reliable company, the worm is able to evade
automated detection systems. It then checks whether a given machine is part of the targeted industrial
control system made by Siemens. If it isn t the right system, the worm does nothing. However if it is
the right system the worm attempts to access the Internet and download a more recent version of itself.
So to say it goes through a sequence of checks to actually determine if this is the right target. It s kind

Juvenile Crime Essay
One of the biggest problems which the United States is faced with is juvenile crime. The reason
experts feel juvenile s commit crimes is because of risk factors when they were younger but experts
still have not found the main reason why juvenile s commit crimes. Some risk factors associated with
juvenile crime are poverty, repeated exposure to violence, drugs, easy access to firearms, unstable
family life and family violence, delinquent peer groups, and media violence. Especially the demise of
family life, the effect of the media on the juveniles today, and the increase of firearms available today
have played a big role in the increase of juveniles crimes.

Another risk factor is the effect of the media on the juveniles of today. Before the time a child has
reached seventh grade, the average child has witnessed 8,000 murders and 100,000 acts of violence on
the television. There is no doubt that heavy exposure to televised violence is one of the causes of
aggressive behavior, crime and violence in society. Television violence affects youngsters of all ages,
of both genders, at all economic levels, and all levels of intelligence. Long term childhood exposure to
television is a casual factor behind one half of the homicides committed by juveniles in the United
States.
The increased availability of guns has played a big part in escalating the number of crimes committed
by juveniles.
In Los Angeles juvenile delinquency cases involving weapon violation grew by 86% from 1988 to
1992, which was more then any other type of juvenile offense. According to a University of Michigan
study found that 270,000 guns accompany secondary school students to class daily. This is startling
because it shows how many more juveniles are carrying guns and the juvenile use of guns in
homicides has increased from 65 to 80 percent from 1987 to 1991.
The possession of firearms plays a big cause in the delinquency of children and is playing a bigger
role in the crimes which juveniles commit. Another cause of the increase of juvenile crimes has been

Math Mistakes Essay
Most people will never be audited by the Internal Revenue Service. However, if you make a mistake
while filing your taxes, then you have a higher chance of being audited. Below is a list of mistakes
that may trigger an audit:
Math Mistakes
It is estimated that there were 2.3 million math errors on tax returns in 2013. That is why it is a good
idea to double check all of the calculations before you submit your tax return. You should also make
sure you put the data in the right box. Electronically filing your taxes and using tax preparation
software can decrease your chance of making a math mistake. You also want to make sure that you
sign your returns. An unsigned tax return can also trigger an audit.

That is why you should make sure that you report all important information to the IRS. If you are
doing your taxes yourself, then it is a good idea to have a professional look over your forms to make
sure you have included all of the necessary information.
Too Many Deductions
If you have your own business, then you may be entitled to certain deductions. However, excessive
deductions may trigger an audit. Many people who have a home office claim their a part of their
mortgage or rent payment and utility bills as business expenses on their tax return.
However, there are requirements for claiming your home office as a business expense. The home
office must used be exclusively used for business purposes. The deductions that you are able to get
may not be that large. You will not benefit from claiming a lot of expenses on your tax return, and it
may also make the IRS suspicious.
Not Filing A Return Or Reporting No Income
If you do not file a tax return, then you may be contacted by the Internal Revenue Service. They may
think that you are trying to hide your income. Even if you do not owe any taxes, you will still need to
file a tax return. You will have to prove that you do not have any taxes

Jealousy is the key factor that pushes us to do better or it can overpower our thinking abilities because
we want to be the best, so we don t think about how it can affect the people around us. This is exactly

Derek realizes how much more important the trophy and being a part of the team is than getting MVP.

Abigail Williams Cruelty
On the first FRQ3 of the year, I received a score of seven points out of a total of nine points possible.
The prompt had to do with the role of cruelty in literature works as a whole and my job was then to
write a well developed essay analyzing how cruelty functions in the work as a whole and what the
cruelty reveals about the perpetrator and/or victim. In this essay, I decided to use The Crucible and
how the character, Abigail Williams, uses cruelty to benefit herself and her selfish ambitions. Though
a seven is a decently good score, it was definitely not the best I could do. One of my peers graded my
paper a seven with the reason that it was a little roughly written and somewhat vague but hit all the
main points . The other said that my essay answered the prompt pretty well, although their details
from the text could have used more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though I hit all the major requirements of the prompt, the overall essay could have be written much
smoother and I could have expanded on my analysis. One thing I noticed as well was that I should
have related my argument to the theme of the actual story. For example, my last sentence in the
paragraph that I explained the role of cruelty in The Crucible was In simple terms, Abigail killed many
innocent people solely for the purpose of getting a man to love . At this point, I could have easily
expanded on how this was indeed cruelty and how it relates to the actual theme of the literary work.
What I should have done was relate my argument and assertion to the book as whole and use this to
further relate The Crucible to cruelty. For the second part of my prompt which was to [analyze] what
the cruelty reveals about the perpetrator and/or victim , I feel as though I did a good job on that. Both
my peers graded that part with either a five out of five or a four out of five. They said that I showed
what cruelty revealed about Abigail Williams and John Proctor very

The Lakota Summary
This week of class was very interesting once again. We watched several films, read our first book, and
had some class discussions. These three things provided me with a great deal of information on the
1975 FBI shooting at Pine Ridge and on Native American/American Indian myths and legends.
In the films Incident at Oglala and Murder on a Reservation, I learned a great deal about the 1975 FBI
shooting at Pine Ridge and have developed my own opinion about the incident. I learned that on June
26, 1975 two FBI agents, Ronald Williams and Jack Coler, followed a red pick up truck onto the
Jumping Bull Ranch. They were out on the reservation to serve a warrant, but they were in unmarked
cars so the Native American/American Indians feared that it was an attack and began shooting.

A P , written by John Updike, is based on a moment in the life of a cashier. He was known as Sammy
and he referred to his position in the grocery store as a slot checker. Sammy spent his time watching

store and attracted his attention. He describes the three girls movements and watches them as they

Octavian, the Greatest Roman Leader Essay
Octavian enabled the long, nonviolent time of the Pax Romana, (Latin for Roman peace) by changing
Rome from a frail, collapsing republican government to a powerful empire. He is known as the first,
and one of the greatest, Roman Emperors ever. Octavian was born on September 23, 63 BC, and died
in 14 AD. Born with the name Gaius Octavius Thurinus, he was adopted posthumously by his great
uncle Gaius Julius Caesar via his will, and then was named Gaius Julius Caesar Octavianus. This
happened in 44 BC when his great uncle, Julius Caesar, was assassinated by a group of conspirators.

He earned the admiration of Caesar during this daring journey. Then Octavian was sent by Caesar to
Apollonia, Greece to finish his education. Octavian was only eighteen years old and living in
Apollonia, when he heard the news of Caesar s assassination. He found out that he was Caesar s
adopted heir, and faced an array of advice from family, friends, and army officers. In 44 BC he took
the name Gaius Julius Caesar Octavianus, after the murder of Julius Caesar. Octavian s family begged
him to stay where he was and renounce his inheritance because they thought the assassins of Caesar
were very strong. Octavian did not take his families advice, and in a tremendously daring act he
announced that he was going to Rome to claim what was his and avenge Caesar s death. Instead he
went directly to Brundisium and gathered the large amount of troops located there. To make sure that
people knew who he was, he called himself Caesar. This identified him fully with his adoptive father,
and gave him legitimacy. He switched from the unknown Octavian to Caesar, or son of Caesar.
Because of this, many of the soldiers from Brundisium joined his cause, and the army grew in size and
skill. Octavian tried to make friends with the leaders of the Roman army, but Mark Antony and

Alternative Methods Of Pain Treatment And Management Essay
Chronic pain is a tremendous public health problem, and a costly one. As health care advances and the
need for palliative care rises, patients and health care providers are constantly investigating alternative
methods of pain treatment and management. Questioning and challenging traditional health policies
and practices has created an interest in the use of cannabis as an alternative option to standard opioids,
for the management of chronic pain. Cannabis, or marijuana, is a leafy green plant consisting of buds
and leaves of the cannabis sativa forma indica plants. Marijuana has been used in holistic solutions for
hundreds of years; it has also been especially prevalent among terminally ill cancer patients, who have
been reported using it to alleviate symptoms like chronic pain, nausea and depression.
Medical marijuana laws are currently in effect in 25 states, as well as the District of Columbia. In
recent years, medical marijuana advocates, and members within the scientific community have joined
together with the New York City Council to present compelling patient vignettes before state
lawmakers in Albany to show legitimate need for cannabinoids. New York City maintains its position
as actively investigating into these claims. As a New York City nursing candidate, depending on state
legislation, this may be an avenue of therapeutic treatment that I must research, educate patients on,

Rosa Parks, an African American woman, was arrested for refusing to surrender her seat to a white
person to December 20, 1956, when a federal ruling, Browder v. Gayle, took effect, and led to a
United States Supreme Court decision that declared the Alabama and Montgomery laws requiring
segregated buses to be unconstitutional. Many important figures in the Civil Rights Movement took
part in the boycott, including Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. and Ralph Abernathy. Events leading
up to the bus boycott. Prior to the bus boycott, Jim Crow laws enabled the racial segregation of the
Montgomery Bus Line. As a result of this segregation African Americans were not hired as drivers,
were forced to ride in the back of the bus, and were frequently ordered to surrender their seats to white
people even though black passengers made up 75% of the bus system s riders. The boycott also took
place within a larger statewide and national movement for civil rights, including court cases such as
Morgan v. Virginia, the earlier Baton Rouge bus boycott, and the arrest of Claudette Colvin. This civil

Conflict, Irony, and Symbolism in Alice Walker s Everyday Use
In the short story Everyday Use , by Alice Walker, tension between characters is evident. When Dee
arrives home to visit Mama and Maggie, readers can see the differences in personality between the
three characters. Dee has changed her name to Wangero to get closer to her so called culture and is
collecting many objects of her past that she did not want before. On her mother s savings for her, Dee
is able to go to college and therefore is more educated. However, she uses this new knowledge to look
down on Maggie and Mama. One of the many objects of her past that Dee asks for is a quilt passed
down to the females of the next generation. Instead, Mama wants Maggie to have ... Show more

As Mama says, You know as well as me you was named after your aunt Dicie. Dicie is my sister. She
named you Dee. This is a little ironic. Even the mysterious boy she brings home, Hakim a barber, has
converts to Islamic ways but chooses only to accept certain doctrines of the religion when he refuses
to eat collard greens and pork. As he says, I accept some of their doctrines, but farming and raising
cattle is not my style. The irony is that it might not be a style , but how Mama and Maggie have to
live. They would not think of this as a style.
Finally, the story in its entirety is symbolism itself. The quilts are the main sources of symbolism are
the quilts, in how each piece of the quilt tells about the life of each member of a different generation
of the family. With Dee s new attitude, how would she use the quilts? Hang them , she says. Like the
quilts had little to no meaning to her at all. Dee says that Maggie cannot understand her heritage and
cannot appreciate these quilts. Magnanimously, Maggie agrees that Dee can have them so as not to
start a conflict. She says, I can member Grandma Dee without the quilts. This shows that Maggie is
more appreciative of her true heritage than Dee is. Dee believes getting in touch with your roots is a
new style of some sort. Dee doesn t consider that the very aunt who gave her, her name is the one who
made the quilts by hand. She only wants it to have as art. Another thing is how Dee discards her name

Nearsightedness, or myopia, is when objects far away appear blurred and objects nearby appear
normal. This occurs due to a curved cornea or long eyeball. For example, a long eyeball will result in
light rays improperly focusing on the retina. However, heredity and vision stress also contribute to
myopia. There are certain lifestyle habits and environmental conditions which exacerbate myopia. For
example, reading in poor light or watching a TV or computer screen in a dark room. Diabetes can also
experience myopic like symptoms due to low blood sugar levels. Myopia can be conditionally
corrected through proper eyeglasses or contact lenses. However, wearing glasses for the rest of you

the conversation Julian goes on to describe Cango as the Fastest Growing Company in the Hudson

Analysis:
Liz definitely needed to plan ahead for her presentation to the Hudson Valley Business Association.
Her speech made her lack of knowledge obvious to all the business leaders present at the meeting and
may have exposed the weaknesses to her competition. On the other hand, after returning to her office
Liz did handle the criticism very well, she was open, honest and direct with her coworker in
discussing the issues with her speech. It was a great testament to management that this employee felt
at liberty to be direct with Liz, there are few companies which can claim the same open door success.
This employee did a great job of outlining her concerns but ended up dismissing her entire argument
with the statement You re a hit, you can move on from here. This is a little discouraging because it
indicates that Liz s downfall with planning and strategy is being approved and affirmed by her
employee base, this is dangerous for a company.

Conventions of Drama
Through the centuries, the conventions of drama have been altered in many different ways. These
conventions are the setting, plot, characters and staging. The main factor which has been a dominant
force during the changes of conventions has been the society. The society present during the time in
which a play was written had a direct influence on the plot and characters. This is because drama is
defined as a representation of life. Four plays which have been selected from Greek, Elizabethan,
Restoration and Modern times can be analysed to show and represent the changes of drama. These
plays are #8220;Oedipus the King #8221;, #8220;Macbeth #8221;, #8220;The Way of the World
#8221; and #8220;A Doll #8217;s House #8221;. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A unique feature of the Elizabethan theatre was the use of soliloquies during a play. These are
moments when a character is able to voice their inner thoughts and emotions without the other
characters hearing (even if they are still on stage). Such soliloquies enable the audience to enter the
mind of the character and understand what is happening. Usually the only character to use a soliloquy
is one with a guilty conscience, for example Macbeth. In the play #8220;Macbeth #8221;, Macbeth
speaks in soliloquy while he is carrying out or devising dirty deeds. The language which is used
during the texts such as Macbeth is Elizabethan language. This is quite metaphorical and poetic with
many of the speeches being quite long. By the eighteenth century, drama had changed yet again during
the restoration period. This time, the focus had shifted from royalty and drama was now based on the
upper class society. The plays written during the restoration period were all to do with dramatic irony
and comedy of manners. This type of comedy meant that the main issues dealt with during the play
were concerned with up to date dress and fashion standards as well as the behaviour of men and
women under the new code of permissiveness. The code of permissiveness which prevailed that
society was able to do basically anything they pleased, came about with the restoration of Charles II to
the throne. As a result in the change of throne, the attitudes of

Evolution Should Not Be Taught In Schools Essay
The theory of evolution was created by Charles Darwin. It is the theory that everything was made by
the Big Bang and so, life began. From there, life began to evolve. Charles Darwin also believes that
we humans evolved from homo sapiens, which are apes. Intelligent design and creationism are the
opposite of the theory of evolution. They are the theory that life and everything along with it, was
created by a higher intelligence(Intelligent Design Network). Half of all Americans believe in
creationism, but U.S courts still rule against teaching creationism in school(Adler). How is that fair if
Darwinians are allowed to teach the theory of evolution in school? It goes against many religions and
should not be allowed to be taught at schools, just as creationism is not allowed to be taught at
schools. The theory of evolution should not be taught at public schools because it is a matter of

they teach children in schools. How would you like it if the government decides what your children
are learning and you don t get a say in it? Especially if it goes against your beliefs. Some say that
science fails to view the true nature of the world when it declines to accept anything other than
material evidence. Evolution is the same, it only wants to accept material evidence. Evolution is like a

Singapore s social memory. This paper will interpret the founding of Singapore in 1819 as a result of

be a fateful step on Singapore s way of being an international big city.
Last by not least, the finding of Singapore also can be seen as the remaining effect of 14th century
trading emporium in Temasek (Singapore). Connecting the booming civilizations of Asia China, India
and Middle East, Melaka Strait s trades were greatly affected by those countries, and Temasek, as a
gateway of hinterland and a collection of various products, attracted most of businessmen to trade
here. With the growing trades between China, India and Southeast Asia and their friendly relationship
with it, Temasek as a main port established an emporium which can be an evidence of Singapore s
strategic location. In the meantime, China s huge demands on Singapore s main products hornbill
casques, lakawood and cotton also brought Singapore great profits. In a degree, the success of
Singapore as a port can be described as a product of a good relationship and policy with main trading
countries. Similar situation happened in 1819. As main traders in Southeast Asia, British, or EIC, had

Kindergarten In Kindergarten
Kindergarten in the 1870s was a place for the middle class children in Canada. However, the late into
the 19th century kindergarten changed. It went from being a novel childrearing alternative for the
educated middle classes and a popular means of maintaining cultural heritage among German
immigrants, to becoming a widespread form of upper and middle class women s philanthropic work
with poor children and an integral part of many public school systems (Lazerson, 1973 from Dehli,
2014, p. 15). In the 1870s, there were only dozens of kindergartens. There were 400 kindergarten
schools in 1880s. The change was likely due to the increase in jobs and industrial capitalism.
Kindergartens became a place to help the poor and immigrant urban children, and to improve such
children s families and communities (Dehli, 2014, p. 14). In addition, the educators were usually
middle class and upper class women. While there was a rise to industrial capitalism, there was a rise to
women s profession. In the 1870s and 1880s during the weekdays, thousands of three to five year old
children gathered in churches, houses, and schools and engaged in games, songs, stories, and many
more. When the educators were not caring for the children over the weekends the educators visited
children s homes and organized meetings with mothers that could be educators, volunteers, and
contributors to the ECE community. They also promoted kindergarten through their writings, lectures,
fundraising, and lobbying.

The Lease And Marketing Plan

a) Issue1: who are promoters in Butterfly s case?
The lease and marketing plan failed to expand office space and attract new clients, Butterfly had cash
flow problems and sold to Xco Ltd, Consequently, Butterfly can sue promoters for the recession of the
contracts or damages. In this case, there is five person involved John, Paula, George, Robyn and
Brian. Generally, Emma Silver Mining s case defines a person who is involved in the creation of a
new company is a promoter. John, Paula, George and Robyn undertook mining project, shared the
rental cost and sometimes referred clients, i.e.: they are promoters as they took active parts in the
formation of a company and generated the necessary share capital to carry on business. For Brian, an
accountant providing tax service, does not act purely in his professional captivity and he agreed to
purchase some non voting shares of Butterfly. This makes him take an inactive position in Butterfly
but can receive dividends. The similar facts in Mandalay s case, RSC leaves the project to Mandalay
and also gets profit from the operation, therefore Brian is a promoter, too. In summary, John, Paula,
George, Robyn and Brian, as Butterfly s promoters, automatically establish a fiduciary relationship
with Butterfly.
Issue 2: do promoters owe fiduciary duties to Butterfly? If breached fiduciary duties, who will be
liable for entering into the lease and marketing contracts?

Essay on A Passage to India
There are people bustling, merchants selling, Anglo Indians watching, and birds flying overhead. How
many perspectives are there in this one snippet of life? They are uncountable, and that is the reality.
Modernist writers strive to emulate this type of reality into their own work as well. In such novels,
there is a tendency to lack a chronological or even logical narrative and there are also frequent breaks
in narratives where the perspectives jump from one to another without warning. Because there are
many points of view and not all of them are explained, therefore, modernist novels often tend to have
narrative perspectives that suddenly shift or cause confusion. This is because modernism has always

the Collector, he was only concerned to give her a good time (26). Sometimes, the narration can
switch abruptly between multiple people without any prior warning whatsoever so that the true
feelings felt by the speakers can be fully expressed in the writing. At one point, Aziz, Ronny, and
Fielding all converse with one another, but each of them see a different situation unfolding before
them. Ronny wished to lash back at Aziz but it was his job to avoid incidents, so he said nothing, and
ignored the provocation that Aziz continued to offer. Aziz was provocative (82). To Ronny, an
invitation to sit down and join them has become a provocation (82). However, the narrative suddenly
jumps to Aziz when it says that [he] did not mean to be impertinent to Mr. Heaslop, who had never
done him harm before comfort could be regained. (82). In Aziz s perspective, he is trying his best to
be hospitable to Ronny, despite knowing Ronny s hate for him. To each man, his own thoughts were
the truth. Thus, the views are directly compared to one another and suggest that there can be truth in
multiple ways and perspectives.

The Roles of Globalization in Timothy Brook’s Vermeer’s...
Globalization deals with the break down of traditional boundaries in the face of increasingly global
financial and cultural trends. It is a process that results in the growing interconnectedness of the world.
Globalization is understood as the force that promotes the global interdependence of economies,
political systems, and societies. It creates a complex system of exchanges of goods, services, people,
wealth, knowledge, and beliefs. Both Timothy Brook s Vermeer s Hat and Sidney Mintz s Sweetness
and Power deal with the role of commodities in world history. Mintz analyzes the history of sugar
production and consumption in Europe. Mintz discusses how the fall of sugar as a luxurious and
exotic product to a necessity for the most common of the working class was able to command a
revolution in diet and lifestyle, during industrialization and the rise of capitalism. Brook tells the story
of tobacco s route from the Americas to Europe. As tobacco became a commercial crop, it allowed for
a new system of trade, further connecting Europe, the Americas, and Africa. Both works highlight the
importance of each respective commodity in the linking of the global community. The integration of
both sugar and tobacco in global trade had a profound impact on the power structures of society in the
seventeenth century.
Before the end of the seventeenth century, while sugar, was still a precious and rare substance, it had
little meaning for most English people, though if they ever got to

This reduces back pressure, but can interfere with other auto parts. Let me provide a nightmare example. On the [1970s Dodge Dart Swinger] with a 340 small block, installing headers is difficult. Buying a complete kit designed by a Mopar specialist for this model Dart doesn t make it easier. The first problem is you have to lift the engine with a hoist to install them. Interference with the upper control arms and the tie rods is yet another issue. After completing the operation, the problems began to surface. • 5. The Background Of The Rorschach Inkblot Test Background: German psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, Hermann Rorschach, was the brains behind the commonly known, Rorschach Inkblot Test . The Inkblot Test was designed and published in 1927 and is comprised of ten inkblots projected on cards with five of them being in black and white and the other five in color. The purpose of this test is to be able to assess underlying psychological issues that someone might be reluctant to divulge directly. This test developed into a test that assesses personality traits of individuals ranging from ages five to adults by means of projecting their own emotions onto these unambiguous figures . Originally, Rorschach designed this test to produce a profile for people suffering from mental disorders, like schizophrenia and Rorschach himself was dissatisfied with using it as a projective test. The combination of altering a test into something it was not designed to do and the test yielding extremely subjective and variable responses, it has stirred up quite a bit of controversy as to whether this psychological measure is actually reliable and valid. In an effort to give this test validity, many tried to create a scoring system to provide reliability and validity. None seemed to be successful alone, however in 1973, American Psychologist, John E. Exner M.S., B.S., devised a scoring system in which he combined the best components of the main five scoring systems at the time. Exner published the paper, The Rorschach: A Comprehensive System, ... Galaxy Toys Chapter Summaries Summary Galaxy Toys, the largest privately owned toy company in the USA, has been under the same management for over thirty years, and has undergone notable changes in management style in that time. Bart Aldrin has brought with him techniques and a management style that have not only improved the methodology of toy assembly, but also optimized shipping processes for the company during his time as a manager. In the late 1980 s and early 90 s, there was a major shift in management that inspired Aldrin and other managers to reconsider their management approach. When American run companies began to suffer in the late 1980 s, Aldrin implemented the principles of Theory Z, and revitalized the company from within. Upon Aldrin s retirement, Joyce Barnhart will replace him and lead the company towards the future utilizing 21st century management principles. Part One Up until the late 1980 s and early 90 s, management at Galaxy Toys focused heavily on task efficiency implemented training methods designed to ensure employees were highly specialized, and highly efficient, at their tasks. The lover is meant to guide the boy, and the two must lead each other to examine themselves and feel ashamed. ...[The boy] is especially ashamed before his lover when he is caught in something shameful (Sym. 178E). Phaedrus later adds that ...Love is...the most powerful in helping men gain virtue and blessedness... (Sym. 180B). Alcibiades is the perfect example of shame when he speaks about Socrates. He says that humans were once great beings with four arms, four legs, two faces and two sets of sexual organs. There were male, female and androgynous beings, which were both male and female. They became prideful and planned to ascend to the heavens and attack the gods. The gods couldn t kill the humans because then no one would worship them. Zeus instead opts to cut the human beings in two and asks Apollo to smooth out their edges. Broken Chain Of Authority In Henry IV In Henry IV, Part 1, Shakespeare establishes a theme of a broken chain of authority through Hotspur s vivid language revealing the Percy s regret in originally supporting the illegitimate king. Despite originally supporting him, Hotspur shows true disrespect for the King through symbolism whenever he calls him a thorn and a cankered Bollingbroke. In Medieval times subordinates of the King were supposed to show the utmost respect to their superior. Disrespecting and insulting your King was both taboo and forbidden at the time. Adolf Hitler took over Germany; at first he was appointed as chancellor but the Germans let him get away with taking over as dictator (Truemen , 2013). It was out of fear that the Germans let him be in power. In Lord of the Flies, William Golding utilizes Jack as the most important character in the novel because of how his psychological personality affects the plot. Jack, much like Hitler, gains control by instilling fear into the others and takes over as leader. Throughout the whole book Golding continues to use Jack to twist the story. This worm was an unprecedentedly masterful and malicious piece of code that conducted attacks in three stages. It starts by targeted Microsoft Windows machines and networks while repeatedly replicating itself. It then sought out Siemens Step7 software, which is also Windows based that is used to program industrial control systems that operate equipment, such as centrifuges. And finally, it compromised the programmable logic controllers. The worm s creators could therefore spy on the industrial systems and even cause the fast spinning centrifuges to tear themselves apart, unknown to the engineers at the plant. In order for the original Stuxnet worm to work correctly it has to be introduced into a system, usually via an infected USB thumb drive/flash drive. Once the USB thumb drive is inserted into a system, it proceeds to infect all machines running Microsoft Windows. It does this by displaying a digital certificate that seems to show that it comes from a reliable company, the worm is able to evade automated detection systems. It then checks whether a given machine is part of the targeted industrial control system made by Siemens. If it isn t the right system, the worm does nothing. However if it is the right system the worm attempts to access the Internet and download a more recent version of itself. There is no doubt that heavy exposure to televised violence is one of the causes of aggressive behavior, crime and violence in society. Television violence affects youngsters of all ages, of both genders, at all economic levels, and all levels of intelligence. Long term childhood exposure to television is a casual factor behind one half of the homicides committed by juveniles in the United States. The increased availability of guns has played a big part in escalating the number of crimes committed by juveniles. In Los Angeles juvenile delinquency cases involving weapon violation grew by 86% from 1988 to 1992, which was more then any other type of juvenile offense. According to a University of Michigan study found that 270,000 guns accompany secondary school students to class daily. This is startling because it shows how many more juveniles are carrying guns and the juvenile use of guns in homicides has increased from 65 to 80 percent from 1987 to 1991. • 34. Kindergarten In Kindergarten Kindergarten in the 1870s was a place for the middle class children in Canada. However, the late into the 19th century kindergarten changed. It went from being a novel childrearing alternative for the educated middle classes and a popular means of maintaining cultural heritage among German immigrants, to becoming a widespread form of upper and middle class women s philanthropic work with poor children and an integral part of many public school systems (Lazerson, 1973 from Dehli, 2014, p. 15). In the 1870s, there were only dozens of kindergartens. There were 400 kindergarten schools in 1880s. The change was likely due to the increase in jobs and industrial capitalism. Kindergartens became a place to help the poor and immigrant urban children, and to improve such children s families and communities (Dehli, 2014, p. 14). In addition, the educators were usually middle class and upper class women. While there was a rise to industrial capitalism, there was a rise to women s profession. In the 1870s and 1880s during the weekdays, thousands of three to five year old children gathered in churches, houses, and schools and engaged in games, songs, stories, and many more. When the educators were not caring for the children over the weekends the educators visited children s homes and organized meetings with mothers that could be educators, volunteers, and contributors to the ECE community. They also promoted kindergarten through their writings, lectures, fundraising, and lobbying. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. Essay on A Passage to India There are people bustling, merchants selling, Anglo Indians watching, and birds flying overhead. How many perspectives are there in this one snippet of life? They are uncountable, and that is the reality. Modernist writers strive to emulate this type of reality into their own work as well. In such novels, there is a tendency to lack a chronological or even logical narrative and there are also frequent breaks in narratives where the perspectives jump from one to another without warning. Because there are many points of view and not all of them are explained, therefore, modernist novels often tend to have narrative perspectives that suddenly shift or cause confusion. This is because modernism has always been an experimental form of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I m tired of seeing picturesque figures pass before me as a frieze, the girl explained. However, her impressions were of no interest to the Collector, he was only concerned to give her a good time (26). Sometimes, the narration can switch abruptly between multiple people without any prior warning whatsoever so that the true feelings felt by the speakers can be fully expressed in the writing. At one point, Aziz, Ronny, and Fielding all converse with one another, but each of them see a different situation unfolding before them. Ronny wished to lash back at Aziz but it was his job to avoid incidents, so he said nothing, and ignored the provocation that Aziz continued to offer. Aziz was provocative (82). To Ronny, an invitation to sit down and join them has become a provocation (82). However, the narrative suddenly jumps to Aziz when it says that [he] did not mean to be impertinent to Mr. Heaslop, who had never done him harm before comfort could be regained. (82). In Aziz s perspective, he is trying his best to be hospitable to Ronny, despite knowing Ronny s hate for him. To each man, his own thoughts were the truth. • 37. The Roles of Globalization in Timothy Brook’s Vermeer’s... Globalization deals with the break down of traditional boundaries in the face of increasingly global financial and cultural trends. It is a process that results in the growing interconnectedness of the world. Globalization is understood as the force that promotes the global interdependence of economies, political systems, and societies. It creates a complex system of exchanges of goods, services, people, wealth, knowledge, and beliefs. Both Timothy Brook s Vermeer s Hat and Sidney Mintz s Sweetness and Power deal with the role of commodities in world history. Mintz analyzes the history of sugar production and consumption in Europe. Mintz discusses how the fall of sugar as a luxurious and exotic product to a necessity for the most common of the working class was able to command a revolution in diet and lifestyle, during industrialization and the rise of capitalism. Brook tells the story of tobacco s route from the Americas to Europe. As tobacco became a commercial crop, it allowed for a new system of trade, further connecting Europe, the Americas, and Africa. Both works highlight the importance of each respective commodity in the linking of the global community. The integration of both sugar and tobacco in global trade had a profound impact on the power structures of society in the seventeenth century. Before the end of the seventeenth century, while sugar, was still a precious and rare substance, it had little meaning for most English people, though if they ever got to ...
