Advantages And Disadvantages Of Vacuum Pump
Premier Fluid System
When thinking about vacuum pressure pump you will find a number of different
points to consider. One thing that you will have to think about is the kind of device
that runs your vacuum pump. Just like everything you will find benefits and
drawbacks. Let us have a look at a few of the different products you can buy to
operate your vacuum pump.
Among the products is definitely an ejector. This is among the easiest and generally
utilized as vacuum pressure producer. The fundamental procedure for the ejector is
it converts pressure energy of the motive fluid into velocity energy because it flows
via a usual small nozzle. Ejectors use various sorts of motive fluid. Steam is among
the most typical liquids. A few of the pros... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There s no special method of doing it so it s simple for anybody.
Because of not getting moving parts and as being a simple design you can easily
repair and incredibly low maintenance.
Pumps are generally experienced in industries essentially for his or her smooth
operation and change in liquids in one point to the other. Centrifugal pumps are multi
purpose pumps appropriate for a variety of different programs demanding reliable and
price effective functioning. These pumps would be the epitome of simplicity and
employ centrifugal pressure to maneuver liquids through piping systems.
A centrifugal pump converts primer mover s energy into kinetic energy and
subsequently this kinetic energy is changed into pressure energy from the fluid
being pumped. It offers an impeller having a central eye by which the fluid makes
its way into the pump. Our prime speed impeller speeds up the fluid radially
outward in the pump chasing after. This boosts the fluid pressure and therefore will
get pressed from the pump right into a pipe to carry on its flow.

Persuasive Essay On Cattle Genetics And Breedinging
I m sure a lot of you know very little or nothing at all about cattle genetics and
breeding, or genetic improvements. Cattle genetics is a very long process that is
used to improve your herd of cattle. Such as, what kind of offspring do you want?
Do you want show steers? Or do you want cattle that can be immediately sent off to
the market?
Key actions that happen during the process of choosing your cattle. The first thing
that you need to know is what type(s) of cows you already have in your herd. Then
select the bulls that you need to have to produce the right type of semen you want
for a good offspring. Do you want a bull that will give you an offspring that has big
bones or muscle? Or a bull that will give a big meaty calf that you can ... Show more

Behavior and the personality is very important in genetic show calf improvement.
Determined on the way you producer calves act, it could have a big impact on how
your offspring will act. If your producer calves act crazy and they are
uncontrollable, you will more than likely have problems with your offspring and
the way it acts. A heifer or bull that acts calm and and isn t rough with people will
possibly have an offspring that will be easier to work with. However, this does not
mean the calf will come out being easy, genital, and go right into walking on a
lead, of course it will take some work, but it should be much easier for it to be
taught. Rather than a calf that has producers that are not calm. It would be a lot
harder to work with, and make it into a smooth club calf.
Next are your EPD s (Expected Progeny Differences). These are the fastest way to
make improvements in cattle genetics. An EPD is the data that is collected from the
economical traits of future offspring. They are an extremely useful tool in
determining your next sire for your herd. What they do is, help determine whether a
bull, cow, or heifer is enough to produce calves that are needed to help your
improvements to your
Study on Delhi
The lack of standard concepts in research is perhaps the most significant difficulty in
the comparison of results between studies.[1] In the running injury field, many
researchers have noted the problem of how to define a running related injury.[2 4]
Some investigators have suggested the need for a standardised definition of running
related injury.[2, 5 7] However, a consensushas not yet been reached; thus,
researchers have used different definitions in their studies.[3, 8, 9]
Currently, the rates of prevalence and incidence of running injuries vary between
19% and 92%, depending on the injury definition adopted in the study. This means
that the lack of standardisation of injury definitions may affect study results.[2, 3, 5,
9 15] For instance, Bovens, et al. [16] used a broad definition of running related injury
as any physical complaint developed in relation with running activities and causing
restriction in running distance, speed, duration or frequency ; they found an injury
incidence of 84.9%. On the other hand, Blair, et al. [17] adopted a more stringent
definition of running related injury as an injury that causes the runners to stop running
for at least seven days ; they found a lower injury incidence of 24%. The higher rate
of injury found in the first study may be due to the lack of a specific period of
interruption or time off from running in the definition used, in contrast to the
definition used in the second study, which clearly specifies the period of
Tuna That Go By The Scientific Name Of Thunnus Maccoyii
Tuna that go by the scientific name of Thunnus Maccoyii (Dennis. M et.al, 2010) are
one of the most valuable finfish cultured within Australian and most sought after for
sushi within Japan. The waters generally out from Port Lincoln within Spencer Gulf,
South Australia are where the tuna are mainly cultured in Australia due to the water
temperature being ideal for the culture of these highly valued finfish. Tunais within
the top four of the most valuable cultured aquatic species in Australia especially
Southern Bluefin Tuna (SBT) which are valued at four hundred dollars per fish
making the transport and capture of these fish very important where damage is
avoided at all costs. The transport of the captured fish from the wild in nets back
into shallower water where they can then participate in the ranching stage can lead
to serious problems and can bring upon mortalities if done incorrectly. Ranching is
the process of temporally holding wild fish at sea to fatten them on baitfish.
(Kirchoff. N et. al 2011 pg1) This process of transportation from the wild back into
the grow out pontoons or cages for ranching can lead to effects on a fish s health,
performance and or even disease and parasite infection.

The Holocaust After World War II
Have you ever wondered or thought about what happened to the Nazis that helped
with different parts of the Holocaust after World War II ended? Well, I thought about
it and I did some research about the famous trials that happened between the years
1945 through 1949. These trials were made up after a man by the name of Adolf Hitler
wanted world domination and he treated the jews horribly. This event solved a lot of
problems from establishing an International Court and knowing what to do with the
men that helped Hitler with the Holocaust. The charges were among many things but
mostly crimes against hummanity was the most used charge. There was also a lot of
controversy about the laws that were made in the court and before the trials even...

This trial also brought in interpreters, because all of the judges and people that were
tried spoke at least 4 different languages, and they needed somebody that understood
the languages and could translate it back quickly and effictiently.
At the end of this trial, The International tribunal found all but 3 guilty. 12 men were
sentenced to death, one in absentia, and the rest were put in prison. The prison
sentences went from at least 10 years to life behind bars. 10 of the condemned were
excuted by hanging on October 16, 1946. One of Hitler s right hand man and the
commander of the Luftwaffe commited suicide with a Cyannide pill the night before
his execution.
The Major War Criminals Trials ended in the year of 1946, then the Allies started a
new trial that had the lesser people on trial. These people ranged from doctors, store
owners, and lawyers. This set of trials were called the subsequent trials. There were a
total of 12 trials grouped together to form the subsequent trials. The first trial was the

Death In Venice Character Analysis Essay
In the whole part, nobody like Madame de Merteuil she plays with everybody s
feelings despises other women and kind of describe herself as self made women,
but she is a very smart woman who knows how to play the game she been playing.
To her love is exists but women and men must enslave each other when someone in
love to her seems to have no interest when the opportunity presents itself. The
important way Madame de Merteuil want to satisfy is to have the latter back.
Merteuil encourages the girl to marry Gercourt and keep him as her lover which is
unexpected. Valmont is a drama film with characters who may be associated with
the concept. Valmont is more interested in pursuing Madame de Tourvel, that
women let Valmont know that she would never be unfaithful to her husband, but
the larger meaning of the concept is to get the letter back from Valmont if he
succeeds he can sleep in bed with Madame de Merteuil. Valmont is unsuccessful,
but she refuses to sleep in bed with him, that makes them choose war and cause him
to death, letting Valmont and Merteuil exposed. I guess she is a woman who wants
reputation and plays with everybody s feelings. To her love is exists but women and
men must enslave each other when someone in love to her seems to have no interest
when the opportunity presents itself. Death in Venice is a 19th century novel that

Sundell.J. (2004).On the History of Indoor Air Quality and Health. Indoor Air 7(14),

Indoor air is a critical factor to human health. More than half of the air inhaled is at
the homes. Indoor air quality plays a huge role in one s health. Poor ventilation is
one of the main causes of deaths in developing countries. In developed countries,
IAQ (Indoor Air quality) is a main cause of allergies, other hypersensitivity reactions,
air way infections and cancer.
The relation between IAQ and health is not given high importance. Studies shows
that ventilation rates below 25 l/s per person increases short term sick leave and
reduces productivity. More efforts are being put into building physics, HVAC
engineering and architecture for better IAQ standards. Dampness, Ventilation,
Building materials and indoor air chemistry are one of the primary factors affecting

Computerized Library System
Introduction
Schools set the various pedagogical changes to achieve the current level of education
in other countries. Because of the growing numbers of computer users, this became
an effective medium to demonstrate the knowledge and skills of the students. From
the traditional searching process for the books in the libraries, the interactive usage
of computers can be now addressed as part of the library system.
Background and Problem Statement

The Walking Dead Psychology
The Walking Dead is a horror/drama television series based on the comics written
by Robert Kirkman. This is a show about the rest of the world trying to survive the
zombie apocalypse. But, is there more to this series than just the blood, gore, and
death? Yes, it seems there truly is more to this series. The Walking Dead
is about many
things including: family, friendship, love, forgiveness, and learning who to trust, it s
not just filled with horror as some may believe. Rick, one of the main characters,
quickly learns that he has been betrayed by his own wife and best friend. This is
where the plot thickens and the true meanings in this show start to come into play,
but first let s take a few steps back. After waking up in the hospital alone... Show

All they have is each other, and they are being forced to watch their loved ones be
ripped apart by these monsters. They have no time to grieve because the family
they just lost is now one of them, a flesh eating zombie. Here comes the blood and
gore, or from a different angle, love and respect for their family. What do they do
now that the one they ve lost has turned into a zombie? They must kill them of
course. Some see an act to keep themselves alive, and I absolutely agree, but a true
fan can put themselves in their shoes and realize that they only want the best for
their family. To keep them from being this horrible creature they must kill them,
and they do it out of love. By doing this they get the chance to grieve and give this
person a proper burial, well as proper as it can be in this life. This family keeps
going no matter what. They lose people, but they also meet new people. At times,
they find this shocking to learn they are not the only people left. It seems like if you
found another living person in this world you would be thrilled, but surprisingly
some people aren t. This group has had multiple bad experiences with new people, but
it has taught them all a valuable lesson, not to trust everyone they
Macklemore s Same Love
Macklemore s Same Love was the first hit song that attempted to intertwine gay
rights and rap. While the song was greeted with a great deal of support, it was also
faced with backlash. Some individuals believed that Macklemore was authentic and
was able to depict the struggles that gays face on an everyday basis, while some
thought that he did not have the right and the authority to write this song and tell
such a powerful message. Some celebrities had strong reactions to the song as well.
When Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi both heard about the song, they
immediately started crying and were thankful, but other gaycelebrities thought that
the song was pitiful. Now, who is correct? Does the song accurately represent the

Specialized Connective Tissue Analysis
There is another type of dense fibrous connective tissue called aponeurosis. Its
tendon like and helps anchor and move muscles. The structure is similar to tendons
and ligaments, there are bundles of collagenous fibers with lots of fibroblasts (
Aponeurosis , 2015). The fibers run in several directions. In the kneejoint the
interosseous membrane of the leg is an aponeurosis that creates a space for the
vessels to run through. Specialized connective tissue consists of bone, cartilage, blood
and adipose tissue. When looking at bone as a tissue we see that it is composed of
an extracellular matrix, a variety of cells, and minerals (Dunleavy, 2015). The
extracellular matrix is calcified, and most of the fibers are type 1 collagen. Almost all

Essay Sun chief
Different cultures and religions have many different customs and rituals. In Islam it
is common practice for women to be covered from head to toe. In Tibetan Buddhism
it is common for devotees to practice asceticism. In Hopi culture and religious
tradition food and sex play large and important roles, although in different situations
the roles may be completely opposite.
In Sun Chief particularly the chapter called the Making of a Man we can see that
food is very important spiritually to the Hopi people. In the Wowochim ceremony
each boy is given their manhood name over a mother corn ear (159). In each of a
dozen or more ceremonies we see that certain practices such as the sprinkling of corn
(159, 160, 162, etc.), or the eating of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This feast celebration suggests that in the case of food, while there are certain
sacred times which require food to be abstained from, for the large part the Hopi
consider food to be something given to them to enjoy and indulge in freely.
Sex is mentioned in Sun Chief along much the same lines as is food. During the
Medicine Ceremony, for example, on the seventh day which is spent making
pahos, or special offerings to the Gods for rain and good harvest, our narrator
states that If a sexual thought had come into my mind, I would have tried to free
myself of it and would not have mentioned the subject to a fellow member even to
relieve him of hiccoughs an excellent remedy on other occasions (170). From this
statement we can draw two conclusions about Hopi thoughts on sex. First, while sex
does not seem to be abstained from during all ceremonies, during certain especially
important spiritual events, sex is considered improper. Second, by referring to
discussion of sex as something as mundane as a cure for hiccoughs, we can see that
sex is in most circumstances something indulged in often and without any feelings of
shame or sin.
Looking at the Hopi attitudes toward food and sex as seen in Sun Chief, it is safe to
say that the Hopi, under everyday circumstances, are a people who follow their
natural wants and needs. The concept of self restraint from such natural desires, while
not entirely foreign, is not something the
The Aztecs And The Aztec Empire
Mesoamerica was once a place filled with growing, ruthless empires and civilizations,
although not one was like the Aztecs and their empire. Although they started off with
a humble beginning, they quickly grew into a great civilization that dominated
present day Central Mexico. They conquered and expanded into an empire stronger
than the other neighboring empires. The heart of the Aztecempire, Tenochtitlan, was a
grand capital filled with many people and astounding temples. The Aztecs were also
ahead of their time with fully functional government and irrigation systems. They
continue to astound many historians with their diverse way of life. They impacted
the way of life for many people today with their customs and ways of life.
Throughout the years, the Aztecs were able to grow and prosper with their sufficient
supply of agriculture and blessed fertile lands of the Mexican Valley, and
demonstrated to be an important part of Mexican heritage. Because of their history,
unique culture, and beautiful architecture, the Aztec Civilization truly is one of
Mesoamerica s most influential early empires.
The Aztec Empire has the history of a fast growing empire destined to dominate
Mesoamerica s empires. Although their exact origins are unclear, experts believe the
Aztecs evolved from a tribe of nomadic hunters (History 1). They conquered nearly
all of Mesoamerica, creating an empire stretching from the Gulf of Mexico to the
Pacific Ocean and south to present day Guatemala (Mcdowell

Interactive Voice Response is a technology that automates interaction with
telephone callers. Our organization has digital T1 lines. These lines are connected
on one side to the IVR platform and, on the other, to call switching equipment. Our

The Administration Of The U.s. Tax System
In 1990, the IRS commissioned a comprehensive nationwide survey of taxpayers to
obtain their overall perception of its administration of the U.S. tax system. NPM
related questions from this survey were re asked to taxpayers to determine any
potential changes in response patterns (VanDenburgh 2004, 2). Several questions
were re asked to allow for an assessment of differences between the 1990 responses
and the 2004 responses during research by William M. VanDenburgh (2004).
The concept of logic of action, which derives from institutional theory, is valuable
to understanding why the IRS case is not aberrant and why there exists an implicit
tension between merit ideals and the performance paradigm (Thompson 2006, 498).
Patterns of behavior derive from institutional rules that create incentives to act in
one way or another. They also derive from norms that have arisen over time that
govern what behaviors are considered appropriate. Important for the purpose of this
argument is the existence of an underlying logic according to which behavioral
patterns, incentives, and norms are interlocked (Thompson 2006, 498). Adoption of
a new NPM requires an agency organizational structure to become more competitive
and business like. In other words, a private market focus is to be incorporated in the
organization. The IRS was heavily criticized because auditors forcefully went after
non filers when some IRS employees themselves were not filing tax returns
(VanDenburgh 2004, 91).

Personal Reflection Of Personal Writing
Hi Professor Savage,
You mention in your email quite a few references to my writing having some
serious issues, yet in the grading not one example was pointed out . I ask that if
you believe the same applies to any part of the draft submission that you highlight at
least the one that will explain any significant point deduction. More, importantly, I
would like to know exactly where I can use improvements, plus I prefer clarity as to
where and/or why points were taken off in this class. Sometimes stylistic choice is
mistaken for poor writing or incoherent or illogical as you suggested. I have not
come across any professor that has said so much about my writing (negatively) and
not offer any example. A link in this case is not exactly the solution for all that was
implied. Anyhow, my main goal is to focus on where I can fix it myself, so please.
show where, next time thanks.
You said, The essayis not intended to be a personal reflection or a guide for writers
but rather an advocacy for an idea. The journal and notes came across reflective,
well, because they re preliminary tools, the scaffold to the final, right. I understand
the draft and final are 3rd POV, backed by annotation, and my opinion as well, but
not delivered as a personal narrative. The backstory was merely to show I am
speaking from some experience. We cannot advocate what we don t understand, sure
credible annotations are needed, but self publishing is a hands on approach, therefore,
subjective, too.
I m concerned about a few things, and then again, not so much knowing all these
assignments leading to the actual final submission are meant to serve us as a form
of outline the chaos, ironed out. As you must be aware brainstorming can happen
at any stage. However, I do have a few comments on some changes you suggested
(thanks) and those I have in mind. You said, concisely, , and I assure you my aim
for the final, I don t worry too much at these stages, as I will rigorously edit, revise
and chisel away from the draft, and then polish for the final. Furthermore,
incorporate any feedback if given and are applicable from the workshop and your
grading notes. I m not fond of MindEdge s outline approach, but I do get the gist,
while still using what

Slavery s Constitution Ratification
The book report is on Slavery s Constitution From Revolution to Ratification 1 by
David Waldstreicher. This book is primarily a history book that speaks about the
creation, ratification, and the implementation of the United States Constitution with
regards to slavery. The author is trying to convey to the reader that the Constitution,
while never actually mentioning slavery, had slavery written all over it. The author
chose this topic to talk about because it s very clear by reading Constitution once
that there isn t much discussion about slavery. What Waldstreicher would argue is
that this conception is wrong, and the only way to understand that it is incorrect is
to go back into the early stages of colonial history and work your way up to... Show

The framers themselves agreed that silence was necessary in order to keep peace,
but it wasn t just to keep peace. The North and the South both needed to make
agreements, as one of the Son s of Liberties Hugh Hughes reveals an agreement, If
you will permit us to import Africans as Slaves, we will consent that you may
export Americans, as soldier s (129 130). Essentially saying if you allow us to keep
importing slaves, you will have more soldiers in the army, whether that be white men
from the South or slaves from the South. There were other obvious advantages like
the North giving business to Southern Slaveholders for slave necessities like clothing
and food. What the author is trying to prove though, is slavery wasn t being fought
against, it was like a petty thing that someone brought up just to remember Oh wait,
we need their business. Because of these agreements between the North and the
South, the Constitution was written with a mind on anti slavery but it operated as if
it was a pro slavery

moved on to experimenting with the heat changes for several acids and a base
mixture continuing from week one. We tested the same base (Sodium Hydroxide)
with three different acids (Acetic Acid, Nitric Acid, and Hydrochloric Acid) all at
one molarity; results are shown in Table 2. After testing our three experiments we
discovered a pattern with our acid and base reactions. Noticing that when we tested
a stronger acid with a base the reaction would give off higher heat energy readings;
versus the weak acid we tested. Which proves that there is a connection between
chemical strength and heat energy. Leaving us with the conclusion that the
stronger the chemical used, the greater heat energy released from the reaction that
took place. Moving on with our project into week two we continued to test acids
and bases; but, we changed the acid and base molarity this time as seen in Table 3.
The point of this experiment was to see if the acid and base molarity (that we
changed from 1, 3, and to 6 moles) would affect the amount of heat energy given
off. We tested the same Acetic Acid and NaOH. Measuring 50mL of one mole
NaOH and adding 50mL one mole Acetic Acid. We tested each experiment twice to
make sure we were accurate and checked for possible errors made. We did have one
The Benefits Of Living Wage
INTRODUCTION:
The living wage is based on the amount an individual needs to earn to cover the basic
costs of living.
Living costs changes from place to place in country so there is different living wage
rate for London and rest of the country. Living wage is administered and promoted
by the Living wage foundation. Politicians has given its widespread support but
limited endorsement is been given by employers. The particular amount that must be
earned per hour to meet these needs varies depending on location. In the 1990s the
first living wage campaigns were launched by community initiatives in the US
addressing increasing poverty faced by workers and their families. They argued that
employee, employer, and the community win with a living wage. Employees would
be more willing to work, helping the employer reduce worker turnover, and it would
help the community when the citizens have enough to have a decent life.
Prime Minister David Cameron has said he supports the idea in principle.
Ken Livingstone and Boris Johnson both London s former and current mayor, are
supporters of living wage. The Greater London Authority (GLA) is among the
organisations that pay the living wage to their employees.
No business which depends for existence on paying less than living wages to its
workers has any right to continue in this country.

Recovery Act.

Amur Leopard Extinction
The Panthera pardus orientalis or the amur leopard is often called The Rarest Cat
in the World . Do you know why this is so? Well, let s just say this is not for a very
content reason. Amur leopards go by this title because they are endangered. You
might think, though, that there probably about maybe 2,000 or more left, but if
you think that then you are way off. Do you know how many there are? Take a
wild guess. Don t know? Well, I ll tell you. According to WWF, there are only an
estimated 60 70 left in the wild. There are approx. 220 in zoos across North
America, Europe, and Japan. As you can see this species is on the verge of
extinction, but there is still hope for this species. The only way this species will be
able to survive is if we help. First here is some information about my species. First,
you should probably know some basic facts about The Amur leopard. Males generally
weigh about 71 106 lbs but can weigh up to about 165 lbs. Females are smaller than
the males at 55 94 lbs. Their height is usually about 2 3 feet at the shoulder. They...

This area is unforgiving with Short summers and 6 month winters. Brutal
snowstorms happen every winter. These forests do not have many coniferous trees

of one that does, the larch. These trees have needle like leaves and they shed them
during winter. The needle like leaves have a waxy outer coat which prevents water
loss in freezing weather. The branches are soft and flexible and usually point
downwards so that snow slides off them. An interesting fact about the temperate

it does not have many nutrients in it. The trees in the Russian Temperate Forests
have leaves and pines that take a long time to break down into the soil. As you can

Why Soda Is So bad For Your Teeth
Chances are that you ve heard about how soda can be really bad for your teeth.
Even drinking diet soda won t save your teeth from the damage that can be caused
by drinking this sweet beverage frequently. Here is what you need to know about the
effects of soda on oral health.
Sugar Will Feed On Bacteria
Try rubbing your tongue across your teeth when you wake up. Do you notice a film
on your teeth that is a bit sticky? What you re feeling is plaque, and it contributes to
tooth decay. Plaque is essential bacteria, and it loves to feed off sugar. Bacteria
actually gets most of its energy from the sugar found in the foods that we eat.
Studies have found that drinking soda creates an ideal environment for bacteria

An overview of the financial intermediation process
Source: Allen, Chui, and Maddaloni (2004)
Lenders (issuers of financial securities) can supply funds to the borrowers (investors
in financial securities), who are mainly firms, governments and households, either
through financial markets, or through banks and other financial intermediaries such
as mutual funds. These investment companies pool the funds of market participants
and use them to buy a portfolio of securities. Investors therefore hold the financial
claims issued by these intermediaries, meaning they have made indirect investments.
Lewis (2016) argues that almost all transactions between issuers and investors require

The regulations caused banks to incur larger capital costs, therefore cutting

Some limits on the role of investment banks as intermediaries
A number of authors have challenged the usefulness of investment banks in the
context of financial intermediation. Some believe, as Judge (2013) do, that banks can
actually make transactions less efficient and risker as they tend to focus on fee
generation; they might also misjudge investment opportunities due to poor
management or poor information, and thus spread the

The most crucial component of national security the military defense and law
enforcement establishment is potentially also one of its most troublesome. For years
these two have buttressed the State in its times of tumult; from the first EDSA
Revolution during the fall of the Marcos dictatorship, to contending military and
police forces facing each other in several coups in the 1980 s under Cory Aquino,
military intervention presaging the downfall of Joseph Estrada, and even the attempts
at military and national reform in 2003 instigated by junior officers calling
themselves Magdalo along with tensions in the 2006 Marine standoff and the 2007

police s influence on Philippine society. Attempts at security sector reform have so

The Black Death Of The Middle Ages
As the middle ages came to a close, political theologians set forth a series of political
ideologies that would help shape modern day democracy. The Black Death greatly
affected the beliefs of the power in Catholic Church. With seemingly randomly mass
death of the young and old, the peasant class began to revolt. While unrest occurred
throughout Western Europe events like the conciliar movement called into question
the emerging conceptions of limitations on rulers power. Theologian including John
Wycliffe, William of Ockham, and Christine de Pizan all captured the number
political ideas of the time. The events that defined this period in history helped shape
what we have come to know and trust in our government.
During the time the Black Death swept Western Europe, questions of who s
authority was supreme to the land arouse. Disaffection with the church, or the
thought that it might be not be true or the only way to salvation, spread in all ranks
of society. It was not only kings who disputed the claims of the clergy. Obscure
parish priests, close to the distress of ordinary people, began to doubt the power of
their ecclesiastical superiors (p. 47 of Disasters of the Fourteenth Century Handout).
Theologians across Europe set forth ideals for a church to hold councils to in order
to constitute the ideals of the entire Christian population. John of Paris in his (On
Royal and Papal Power) agreed that a general council could depose the pope on the
grounds that it

Opening Scene Of Bassanio
The audience is first acquainted with Bassanio in the opening scene of the play,
where he seeks to lend money from his disconsolate friend, Antonio.
In Act 1 Scene 1, Gratiano and Lorenzo leave Antonio and Bassanio alone. At this
moment, Bassanio reveals his financial crisis. Bassanio tells Antonio Tis unknown to
you, Antonio/How much I have disabled mine estate and also states To unburden all
my plots and purposes/How to get clear of all the debts I owe. Bassanio is
admitting to Antonio that he has squandered his wealth. Here we perceive him to be
a young man who has a habit of spending money frivolously, which builds on the
idea that he is irresponsible. The audience is also displeased with Bassanio because

Shortly before Bassanio and Gratiano take a trip to Belmont, Bassanio points out to
Gratiano Thou art too wild, too rude, too bold of voice. He isn t unfairly criticising

entitled to a high class status when he reaches Belmont, so that he can woo Portia.
This suggests that he wants to make an effort to please her, and he is possibly
worthy of her love after all.
While he is in Belmont, Portia makes an absolute declaration of love by stating
One half of me is yours, the other half yours. At this point, Bassanio is aware of the
fact that Portia is definitely in love with him. However, he feels guilty when he says
Let me choose/For as I am, I live upon the rack. In this extended metaphor of torture,
Portia replies Then confess/What treason there is mingled with your love. This
metaphor speaks about trust and suggests that Bassanio wants to tell Portia the truth
about his financial status, but he s unwilling to because he is afraid of disappointing
her. This language of intimacy proves that he cares about Portia and does not want
her to lose interest in him. Yet again, this implies that he is worthy of Portia s
Face Negotiation Theory By Stella Ting Toomey
Face negotiation theory was developed by Stella Ting Toomey, a professor of Speech
Communication at California State University, Fullerton, who earned her Ph.D. from
the University of Washington in 1981. She developed the theory after being
influenced by the work of Goffman, and Brown and Levinson.
Ting Toomey (1988) states an assumption of face negotiation theory is that people in
all cultures try to maintain and negotiate face in all communication situations.
Another assumption of the theory described by Ting Toomey (1988) is that face is
problematic in sensitive interpersonal situations, such as conflict. According to Oetzel
and Ting Toomey (2003), the theory is useful in explaining both differences and
similarities in face and facework during conflict situations. Many scholars have
researched specific areas regarding face negotiation theory. The areas mentioned
below will focus on the concept of face, conflict, and intercultural situations. The
concept of face is important in conflict situations because communicators should
protect their own interests, and avoid violating others interests during the
interaction. Face has many different definitions, written by many different scholars.
Ting Toomey (1988) defines face as an individual s claimed sense of positive
image in the context of social interaction (Ting Toomey, 1988) . Another definition
of face is a claimed sense of favorable social self worth that a person wants others to
have of her or him (Ting Toomey
Shimano Inc. Management Analysis
Since its establishment in Japan in 1921, Shimano, Inc. (originally known as
Shimano Tekkojo and henceforth referred to as Shimano ) has based its business
headquarters in Japan first in Sakai, then later in the industrialized hubs of Tokyo and
Nagoya. Through the end of the twentieth century, Shimano was recognized as a
major player in the global market of bicyclecomponents manufacturing and
distribution to both Europe and the U.S. But stagnated product sales and
competition abroad in the early 2000 s, most notably from the American competitor
SRAM Corporation, had a negative impact on its international market growth.
Besides global and local economics, stagnated sales, and stiff competition abroad
(especially in the U.S. where more provocative bicycle designs captured a majority
of the domestic and European market share once dominated by Shimano), the
location of its home base has does not appear to have played a major role in the
decline of Shimano s once global competitive edge. If we take into account Porter s
Diamond Model of Competitive Advantage and its relation to Shimano s management
location in the last century, we can see that all four attributes of factor conditions,
demand conditions, related and supported industries, and firm strategy, structure and
rivalry are reflective of the firm s inability to sustain its brand prosperity.
Factor Conditions: Although increased labor costs and lack of available workforce
led Shimano to relocate its production

FDR Inaugural Address
FDR Inaugural Address Speech Analysis Essay
In arguably one of the most powerful of American political addresses ever given,
President Franklin Delano Roosevelt argues that, the only thing we have to fear is
fear itself , and that in order to restore America to its pre depression state, the
American people must believe that he can lead them through the Great Depression, so
long as they appoint him the wartime executive powers required to handle the
situation effectively. Roosevelt emphasizes the need for action through the use of
biblical allusions and referring to himself as the prophet is this time of need,
taking the role of Jesus, declaring, The money changers have fled from their high
seats in the temple of our civilization. We may now restore that temple to the
ancient truths. ; he plays upon the social needs as well as builds up his credibility
with the audience by stating his plan to combat the depression, broad Executive
power to wage a war against the emergency, as great as the power that would be
given to me if we were in fact invaded by a foreign foe. ; and cements his argument
with his claims of value and policy, exposing the flaws of pre depression American
society, and eventually calling for the change he believes necessary to force America
out of the depression, we apply social values more noble than mere monetary profit. .
Franklin Delano Roosevelt goes to such lengths to earn the support of his fellow
Americans in order to unite the entire country in

the parenting style. In the course book, it defines attachment as the establishment of
a close emotional relationship between parent and child (Zimbardo, Johnson, and

style. My parents were warm and sensitive to my needs and interests. Growing up
they made reasonable demands, explained the rules and when needed enforced those
rules. Yes, my parents have high expectations for me; however, it is because they
want the best for me. My parents and I have a close relationship and this is reflected
in their parentingstyle. In the course book, it mentions that researchers have found
Examples Of Social Stratification In The Great Gatsby
Matthew Foung
Per. 5
Prompt #3
It is impossible for man to create a perfect society where there are no classes. It is
inevitable and classes will emerge; the wealthy will rise to the top and the poor will
sink to the bottom of the social pyramid. This separation not only affects general
living but also relationships with other classes. In The Great Gatsby by Scott
Fitzgerald, social stratification is evident and separated by three settings: the Valley
of Ashes, West Egg, and East Egg.
Located between New York City and West Egg, the Valley of Ashes is a place
where the outcasts of society and the indigents reside. This desolate area is filled
with ashes [that] grow like wheat into ridges and hills and grotesque gardens (27).

Essay On Summer Vacation
Summer of 2017 was probably my best summer so far. I went to my dream place
and somewhere else I have heard so much about! Before this vacation, I was so
excited and I thought this place was going to be all movie stars and celebrities, but
I was wrong. Over the summer I went to Los Angeles, California and Las Vegas
Nevada. Now, I am not telling you about two different trips, this was all in one trip.
On August fifth, 2017 we drove two hours to Indianapolis and got on a plane to go to
California. The flight was about four hours, three hours and fifty eight minutes to
be exact. We had first class. My dad and sister sat next to each other and my mom
and I sat next to each other. Once we landed at the airport in Los Angeles, we had to
get our suitcases and our rental car. Getting our suitcases took about forty five
minutes and getting the car rental took about an hour and a half. Once we got to our
hotel, it was ten o clock p.m. their time, Twelve o clock a.m. our time. We were all
hungry because even though we had food on the plane, most of us didn t eat it. So
we ordered pizza and went to bed. The next day, we went to the Walk of Fame and
saw all the movie stars names on the stars. We also went on some tours, such as
TM Z. TM Z was probably my favorite thing we did there, it was so much fun! We
also went to the Chinese Theater museum and went to go see the Hollywood sign,
from afar. We also went to this very nice restaurant, my dad enjoyed a lot. The next

The Productivity And Flexibility Of The Labor Market
The efficiency and flexibility of the labor market are critical for ensuring that
workers are allocated to their most effective. In Dubai hires skilled foreign workers
mostly from South East Asia to fulfill its needs. Labor markets must therefore have
the flexibility to shift workers from one economic activity to another. In today s
globalized world, technology is increasingly essential for firms to compete and
prosper. The technological readiness measures the agility with which an economy
adopts existing technologies to enhance the productivity of its industries, with
specific emphasis on its capacity to fully leverage information and communication
technologies. The size of the marketaffects productivity since large markets allow
firms to exploit economies of scale. Traditionally, the markets available to firms have
been constrained by national borders. In the era of globalization, international markets
have become a substitute for domestic markets, especially for small countries. There
is no doubt that sophisticated business practices are conducive to higher efficiency in
the production of goods and services. Business sophistication concerns two elements
that are intricately linked. Innovation can emerge from new technological and non
technological knowledge. Non technological innovations are closely related to the
know how, skills, and working conditions that are embedded in organizations.
Although all the above said characteristics of competitive advantage sound

Hey, maybe you should try every once in awhile Aiden shouts. Everybody was

The Christian Influence on The Middle Ages Essay
In 312 CE, Roman Emperor Constantine achieved a victory at the Milvian Bridge.
The night previous to this battle, Constantine dreamt of a cross inscribed in hoc signo
vinces, in this sign you will conquer. As trivial as this dream may seem, it ultimately
signified the beginning of the rise of Christianity. With his victory, Emperor
Constantine converted to Christianityand supported and encouraged it throughout the
empire. In 313 CE, another milestone occurred as the emperors, both Constantine Iof
the West and Licinius of the East, signed the Edict of Milan declaring that the
Diocletianic Persecution would end, and Christianity would be tolerated in the
Roman Empire. This religion began to flourish as people quickly converted from
pagan... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the most important contributors of this time was Saint Benedict of Nursia. To
guide Christians pursuing such a life, St. Benedict wrote Regula Benedicti, The Rule
of Saint Benedict. This book was composed of precepts for monks to follow as they
lived in communal monasteries under an abbot. Ideally, poverty, chastity, and
obedience were the most sought after traits that one should follow. Saint Benedict
instructed monks to participate daily in written prayers, devotionals, manual labor,
and commanded a pledge of poverty, chastity, and obedience (Benedict).
Because these rules are not just spiritually beneficial, secular impacts were gained
from the monasteries way of life. Monks became a hero of the people of the
medieval times in countless ways. These monks were examples to all of a
righteous way of living. When monks devoted their lives to God, others saw the
devotion exemplified in daily life. The humility the monks strived for implicated a
humble heart , serious and humble speech , doing nothing except what is
commended by his superiors , and being content with the worst of everything
(Benedict). This lifestyle could infinitely increase the quality of life for any person
as it provided an example for people to become helpful, moral citizens, regardless of
religious affiliation. As Christianity and monasteries became more popular amongst
people, monks traveled to
The Problems Facing The United States
We are caught in a time of our nation s history when misfortunes, mismanagement,
corruption, and leftwing ideology come together in a powerful concurrence of
circumstances that leave our once dynamic nation at risk for disaster.
Americans are a people dependent upon a meddling, incompetent government with its
foot on the necks of its citizens. As incredible as it seems, our representatives
allowed dictators and corrupt regimes around the world to control nearly everything
we need for survival. Moreover, this administration is weak and incapacitated on the
world stage, making us dependent upon the very people who wish to annihilate us.
Dozens of pressing problems challenge America today. Unquestionably, however, the
two most urgent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There was a time when America rightfully boasted the greatest and most envied
industrial complex and manufacturing base in the history of mankind. However, that
was before politicians decided to over regulate, over tax, and enact never ending
destructive legislation motivating business and manufacturing to surrender and move
to foreign countries offering more welcoming laws.
Further, national politicians signed unwise trade agreements with countries that
placed the United States in a subservient position on trade. Mega international
corporation lobbyists became the driving force for trade policy, and national
security steadily suffered. Fair trade became a victim of an ill conceived national
policy and withered in the heat of backroom deals between money brokers and
politicians. The false narrative of free trade left our nation impotent in a world
offering depressed wages, fewer benefits, insignificant regulations, and lower taxes.
Obviously, good paying jobs with benefits vanished as we became less competitive.
International trade is an absolute necessity to a healthy U. S. economy. Unfortunately,
big time money speaks louder and more forcefully than common sense and fair
economic practice. Democrats and Republicans joined at the wallet with special
interests, tragically left our national security rusting away in hundreds of silent,
inactive, and
Sedation Dentistry
Sedation dentistry is a great asset to you if you fear dental appointments in general
or only specific procedures. Sedatives used in dentistry are very safe and effective,
and they can help you get your oral health back on track if you have skipped dental
appointments due to overwhelming anxiety. If you have requested gentle oral
sedation to help calm your nerves during your dental procedure, but remain fully
awake, then be sure to follow these two steps to help your dentist provide the right
medication and dose to keep you calm, yet awake, during your dental appointment.
1. Inform Your Dentist of Every Medication and Supplement You Take Even
Occasionally When visiting a new dentist, it is standard procedure for you to fill out
a form that has you list every single medication and supplement you are currently
taking. While this information is important for your dentist to have for many
reasons, it is especially important for your dental care provider to know if you are
taking medications or supplements that may affect the dosage of sedation medication
you are given before your procedure. When filling out these forms, you may be
unsure whether to report medicines or supplements you take only occasionally,...

Since the type of medication typically given as a calming agent is a
benzodiazapine, make sure to alert your dentist if you have taken a medication of
that class in the past and had a reaction called a paradoxical reaction. While
somewhat rare, you would know if you experienced it in the past when taking a
benzodiazapine if the medication actually made you more alert instead of relaxing
you. If suspected that you may have this type of reaction again, your dentist may opt
to prescribe a different type of sedative less likely to cause this reaction
How Did Sears Transformed America
Sears Transformed America. It Deserves to Die With dignity
Sears which was the largest retailer in U.S more than 50 years ago, lost $748
million in the last quarter of 2016 from falling sales. The article explains that the
reason behind the severe financial loss came back to bad decision that sears made
after world war II.
Sears began in 1886 as a watch company, founded by Richard W. Sears. The article
explains that Sears was a successful retailor the same as Wal Mart during 1890 till
1930s. The Sears catalog could be found in every home in America. In early 1900s,
Sears was famous for its mail order delivery. In 1925, Sears had no physical stores in
the United States. The country was changing and many people were now moving to
city centers. Accordingly, new chain retailors began to start popularity. Sears joined
the market by opening their own retail locations. Sears experienced great success. At
the end of 1929, it had 300 stores in U.S. This strategy puts sears as one of the most
successful companies in the United States. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Sears actively started its expansion plan, and building new massive stores. In 1973,
Sears built a new headquarters located in Chicago called Sears Tower. At that time,
it was the tallest building in the world. By the 1980s, Sears was not only expanding
but also diversifying into different businesses like Allstate car insurance, Dean
Witter financial services, and discover credit cards. Although the expanding decision
helped the company for a while, it has a huge cost for the company. The problem
was that these new business lines had very few synergies with Sears core
Review Of James Fenimore Cooper s The Last Of The
Mohicans
Portrayed in the midst of the French and Indian war, The Last of the Mohicans, by
James Fenimore Cooper, focuses on life in the frontier and the violent clashes the
French and Native Americans experience with the English during the French and
Indian war. Hawkeye, a white hunter who identified closely to the Native Americans,
becomes entangled in the grotesques battles happening in the French and Indian war
in order to save the lives of two women. Although written seventy five years past the
prime of the events happening in the novel, Cooper implements and manipulates
factual events in history to provide a subtle idea of the conflicts that happened in the
French and Indian War. France and Great Britain went to war during 1754 due to the
increased tension of territorial expansion. It is true that Major General Webb
abandoned fort William Henry and appointed Lieutenant Munro who was unprepared
for the anticipated French attack.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Indians in this romantic adventure novel are helping their allies for this same
reason. Tribes who may have not felt any maliciousness towards each other were
made to due the tension of the war. Cooper captured this through the Delawares
who were made to initially oppose Hawkeye and his friends. The title of this novel
foreshadows the genocide of Indians throughout the course of the war. The
survivors of the Mohican tribe are Uncas and his father Chingachgook. In chapter
33, Uncas dies in an attempt to save the life of his beloved Cora, the fictitious
daughter of Munro. Tamenund, the leader of the Delaware tribe says, The pale
faces are masters of the earth. And the time of the red men has not yet come again
(Chapter 33). His optimism of the Native American people acquiring the opportunity
to gain power is ironic because the Indians do not gain any power in reality; instead
they are forced off their
Monomythic In Mulan
Monomythic elements can be found in many stories and movies today. Campbell s
idea of the monomyth are describe in five stages such as the mundane or the original
world, the call to adventure, crossing the threshold between the new and old world,
the path of trials and the mastering of two worlds. My character Mulan goes through
this challenge all throughout the movie. This essay will talk in detail about the
monomythic elements that are found in Disney s movie Mulan such as the
separation, the initiation and the return.
One of the monomythic categories is the separation of the hero from the normal
world. The elements of separation are the call to adventure, refusal of the call,

The elements of initiation are the road of trials, the meeting of goddess, the woman
as a temptress, atonement with the father, the apotheosis and the ultimate boon.
With the help from her guardian Mushu, she was able to hide her identity as man.
The trials that she faced was hiding her identity as a woman, going through the
training and fighting the Huns. She meets her goddess at the training camp which
was Captain Lee Shang. The captain was a hard mentor and training teacher.
Mulan had a hard time catching up with the other soldiers since she wasn t used to
that type of work. The temptation was when Shang saw that Mulan was having a
hard time catching up with the others and order her to go back home. Mulan rejects
the offer and tries hard to prove herself to the Captain. Her atonement to her father
is when she was improving in her training and succeeds in impressing him. Her
apotheosis is when she was finally discovered after getting hurt during combat. This
brings about the death of the solider named Ping and the rebirth of the woman
named Mulan. The Ultimate Boon was when Mulan makes a comeback by saving
the emperor and China. She also kills the leader of the Hun army and wins the war
which finally bring honor to her
Homage To My Hips By Lucille Clifton
Homage to my Hips, by Lucille Clifton is one of her many poems that discussed
issues in society due to female freedom and self esteem. This poem points out
aspects in which she uses hips to represent all females in some way and how they
are free from the certain views of society that she does not agree on as well as how
she is proud of her hips and respects herself regardless. especially, in today s society,
females are forced to portray this one image. it makes most females uncomfortable
in our own skin which doesn t let females to embrace their uniqueness. She uses
word choice and personification to describe ways her hips stand for what she
believes in. Clifton declares that she will not abide by the rules society has created

The petty places she is describing are literally places that larger hips may be
looked down upon and also metaphorically symbolizes places like the kitchen or the
bedroom; places that women are expected to be in, inn her society. Clifton believes
women don t want to be in these places that won t get them anywhere in the world,
they want to go out and do what they want and want to have some sense of
fulfillment in their lives. However, During the time period, this poem was written
when females were stereotyped and told to look a certain way. The fact that
females always belonged in the kitchen whiles men went out there an pursued their
dreams was bizarre . it s so surreal how females had no rights to peruse what we
wanted to but rather, men were praised and men were the head . when in fact, in
today s society, females are doing the same things men are doing. We have female
doctors, engineers and so on. furthermore, women of today are also owning business,
buying their own houses and even today, society is filled with single mothers taking
care of their kids
Essay on The Ethics Concerning Space Debris
The Ethics Concerning Space Debris
In more than 40 years of space activities some 3800 launches led to about 25000
observable space objects larger than 10 cm of which 8300 were still in orbit by
September 1997. Only 6% of the catalogued orbit population are operational
spacecraft, while 50% is said to be due to decommissioned satellites, spent upper
stages, and objects such as launch adapter and lens covers, which are mission related.
The other 44% is originating from 140 on orbit fragmentations. These events have
been the main source that has generated a population of objects larger than 1cm on
the order of 70000 to 150000.
Efforts to provide a definitive assessment of this problem have been directed toward
analyzing the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Due to the large number of space exploration projects, a large belt of debris has
formed that can be hazardous to other operational spacecraft. As engineers, we have
an ethical responsibility to prevent pollution of Earth s atmosphere. We have learned
a hard lesson on the value of environment from right here on Earth. Trends show that
the debris belt circling the Earth will only get bigger, and become more hazardous to
spacecraft.
There is an ethical issue vs. a legal issue vs. a cost issue that is very much open to
debate. Several decades of space exploration have led to a buildup of non
functional space junk . However, proper disposal of equipment is just added cost
for a space program that is already on a tight budget. If space is in fact the final
frontier , then we must learn from our mistakes here on earth and minimized the
contamination and pollution of the space. As engineers, we have a moral
responsibility to do everything in our power to preserve the environment. We are all
stakeholder in this issue because it involves our tax money to fund a lot of these

and taking good care of the evironment we live in and the ones we explore such the

Franciscan Order Research Paper
Franciscan Order
A Franciscan is a priest of a Christian religious order founded in the early 13th
century by St. Francis of Assisi. The members of the order strive to the ideals of
the order s founder, St Francis. The Franciscans actually consist of three orders.
The First Order is made up of priests and lay brothers who have sworn to lead a life
of prayer, preaching, and penance. This First Order is divided into three
independent branches: the Friars Minor (O.F.M.), the Friars Minor Conventual
(O.F.M. Conv.), and the Friars Minor Capuchin (O.F.M. Cap.). The Second Order
consists of nuns who belong to the Order of St. Clare (O.S.C.) and are known as
Poor Clares (P.C.). The Third Order consists of religious and lay men and women who

Foreclosure Crisis Essay
In the gleeful times of 2005, my parents decided, like so many others, that it was
time to upgrade. They sold our smaller home on the other side of town, which had
appreciated nicely, and bought a 3700 square foot behemoth in a town with
already exorbitant property taxes. My younger brother and I were thrilled to finally
have a basement, our own rooms, and even a concrete basketball court in our
backyard! All eight year old me knew was that things were going to be a whole lot
more comfortable from there, and my optimistic parents seemed to think the same.
The year is 2017, and my parents have only just now reached the equity levels in the
house that they started with over a decade ago, nearly one hundred fifty mortgage
payments later.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Millennials, in ever increasing numbers, are focusing on living now. They are
choosing to move into urban areas in particular. As a predominantly liberal group,
and with large cities tending to lean left, this is partially due to political forces.
The majority, however, is due to lifestyle conveniences that come with a city:
multiple options for transportation and not needing to own a car, proximity to
cultural events and nightlife, and, especially with the decline of the suburbs as
retail simultaneously sinks, a more positive future economic outlook. They more
readily take the loss in living space for these benefits than their previous
generations did. At the same time, a growing number of millennials are facing
burdensome student loan debt. Rather than come out of college with pristine back
end ratios primed for a hefty mortgage, they are handcuffed by the debt that they
have amassed in their early twenties. As the Pew Research Center has noted, 37
percent of people under the age of thirty have student loan debt. They contribute to
the $1.3 trillion in student debt, leverage that could presumably be used for a
mortgage or some other useful credit if it were not locked up already. Millennials
are trying to increase their earning power by going to school so that they have the
opportunity to advance economically, but it is simultaneously holding many of them
back via years of extra debt debt that is notably not going to a
Summary Of Sheriff Bud Wendell Drove Patiently Down...
Sheriff Bud Wendell drove patiently down route 41. He wasn t necessarily needed
anywhere and this was perhaps the first moment he could relax after a rather
contentious campaign battle against his challenger and former undersheriff, Carl
Stringham. Politics in the South could get down right nasty at times, but Sheriff
Wendell took small solace in the fact that it wasn t he who spread the rumors of
Stringham s clandestine romances with men from a neighboring town.
Sure, Sheriff Wendell knew that Stringham was a homosexual. Stringham had
worked as his deputy for twelve years and what man wouldn t be aware of such
preferences after being in the company of another antithetically oriented man for
so long. It never made a difference to him, though. Bud knew Carl was a strong man
and would have made an honest sheriff, but politics in the south was never about a
man s merits or soul. More often than not, a lever was cast for the man who
reminded people of themselves, at least their public selves. All it took in this case
was one whisper from Julie Hollis to Deanne White at the beauty salon back in
October and the race for county sheriff was over. Surely, her husband, Deputy John
Hollis had nothing to do with it.
While he found Stringham s gossip piece to be an unfortunate setback in the merits
of the sheriff s race, Bud Wendell knew Carl was a good man but knew himself to be
the better man. If you asked them in private, most of the county would probably
agree. With his
Analysis Of Jim Mccormick s Short Story Breaking
Through...
The two stories Breaking through Uncertainty and Neighbours are both stories
about how big the benefits are when risks have been taken. The first short story is
about how a skydiver must overcome his own uncertainty, to save himself from
certain death. While the other story is still dramatic, just in a different tone; it s
about a young woman, who must decide whether or not a friendship is worth
standing up for something that s right. The protagonists in both stories, have to take
risks, and they re both rewarded for taking those risks; one with his life, and the
other with a stronger friendship. Even though the skydiver is risking his life, the
protagonist in Neighbours had more gut to do what she had to do, where is the
skydiver just let second nature take over. Above all, the protagonists both did
experience serious risktaking moments, and they both benefited for the greater good.
Breaking Through Uncertainty by Jim McCormick is about how a skydiver is
plummeting to his death, and he has got to figure out how to save himself. All the
while the skydiver must deal with his self doubt. In paragraph eight, we see
actually how much danger the skydiver is in I looked up to assess my canopy and
saw something I don t often see; the horizon clearly visible ABOVE the trailing
edge of my canopy. The skydiver obviously now knows what the stakes are if he
messes up, which make his self doubt start to kick in. He starts to worry he s not
going to do it, the only thing
Essay To My One Love
Facing death at any age is difficult, but for Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and John
Sullivan, it came early, resulting in two essays retelling their experience. In their
accounts of these situations, the author can see they both want to emphasise that
death can come in very unexpected situations. To My One Love, by Chimamanda
Ngozi Adichie, begins on page 17 of 50 Essays by Samuel Cohen. In her essay, set
in present day, she has flashbacks to her relationship with a boy from the wrong side
of town named Nnamdi. They were in a loving relationship against their peers wishes.
When it came time for them to separate due to education in separate locations, they
had ended the relationship, but not before Nnamdi had promised that them... Show

In addition to the brain scans, the article titled Romance novel on Wikipedia also
shows support to my claim of the romance genre affecting the reader. The article
states, By the 2000s, romance had become the most popular genre in modern
literature. , and in speaking of 2008, making up 13.5% of the consumer market. With
evidence of readers choosing romance genres, I believe the audience will also lean
toward an essay containing a romance genre.
Another way I believe To My One Love was more effective is because of the tone
of her essay compared to Feet in Smoke. In To My One Love, Chimamanda recalls
her experience in present day with flashbacks to when her and Nnamdi were
together. In her present day, she presents herself with joy of just publishing poetry
in a newspaper office. She says on page 17 of 50 Essays, I swaggered and smiled,
too full of accomplishment. When she notices a picture on the wall of Nnamdi dead,
the continuation of the essay is foreboding (the flashbacks) and somber (going
through the rest of present day). The foreboding and somberness puts emphasis on
the emotions of facing death in unexpected situations (Chimamanda didn t expect
Nnamdi to die so early in life or to see a picture of him on the wall which brought
back all those feelings).
In Feet in Smoke, the tone is more scattered, going from neutral (just relaying facts of
how his
Importance Of Honor Your Father And Mother
We are commanded by God to honor our father and mother. This is a principle
taught so often in the scriptures that it has been drilled into our memory. Even if you
don t happen to belong to a religious family this is still a principle that is passed
down from generation to generation.
So, then what exactly does it mean to honor your father and mother ? Honoring your
father and mother is being respectful in both your word and action, having an
inward attitude of respect for their position. For example, the Greek word for
honor means to revere, prize, and value. Honor is giving respect not only for merit
but also for one s position. An example of this would be how some Americans might
disagree with the President s decisions, however, they should still respect his position
as leader of their country. Something similar to this would be how children of all
ages should honor their parents, regardless of whether or not their parents deserve
honor.
We are always told by God, Jesus Christ, and our Prophets to honor your father and
mother. God even values this quality so much that it has been given to us as one of
his commandments. Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long
upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. (Ex. 20:12 KJV) As a matter of
fact, this single principle is taught a total of thirty two times in the standard works
(i.e; Old Testament, New Testament, Book of Mormon, Doctrine
and Covenants, Pearl of Great Price, etc.) Listed is a

  • 2. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Vacuum Pump Premier Fluid System When thinking about vacuum pressure pump you will find a number of different points to consider. One thing that you will have to think about is the kind of device that runs your vacuum pump. Just like everything you will find benefits and drawbacks. Let us have a look at a few of the different products you can buy to operate your vacuum pump. Among the products is definitely an ejector. This is among the easiest and generally utilized as vacuum pressure producer. The fundamental procedure for the ejector is it converts pressure energy of the motive fluid into velocity energy because it flows via a usual small nozzle. Ejectors use various sorts of motive fluid. Steam is among the most typical liquids. A few of the pros... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There s no special method of doing it so it s simple for anybody. Because of not getting moving parts and as being a simple design you can easily repair and incredibly low maintenance. Pumps are generally experienced in industries essentially for his or her smooth operation and change in liquids in one point to the other. Centrifugal pumps are multi purpose pumps appropriate for a variety of different programs demanding reliable and price effective functioning. These pumps would be the epitome of simplicity and employ centrifugal pressure to maneuver liquids through piping systems. A centrifugal pump converts primer mover s energy into kinetic energy and subsequently this kinetic energy is changed into pressure energy from the fluid being pumped. It offers an impeller having a central eye by which the fluid makes its way into the pump. Our prime speed impeller speeds up the fluid radially outward in the pump chasing after. This boosts the fluid pressure and therefore will get pressed from the pump right into a pipe to carry on its flow. A few of the benefits of a liquid ring pump for any vacuum pump
  • 3. Persuasive Essay On Cattle Genetics And Breedinging I m sure a lot of you know very little or nothing at all about cattle genetics and breeding, or genetic improvements. Cattle genetics is a very long process that is used to improve your herd of cattle. Such as, what kind of offspring do you want? Do you want show steers? Or do you want cattle that can be immediately sent off to the market? Key actions that happen during the process of choosing your cattle. The first thing that you need to know is what type(s) of cows you already have in your herd. Then select the bulls that you need to have to produce the right type of semen you want for a good offspring. Do you want a bull that will give you an offspring that has big bones or muscle? Or a bull that will give a big meaty calf that you can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Behavior and the personality is very important in genetic show calf improvement. Determined on the way you producer calves act, it could have a big impact on how your offspring will act. If your producer calves act crazy and they are uncontrollable, you will more than likely have problems with your offspring and the way it acts. A heifer or bull that acts calm and and isn t rough with people will possibly have an offspring that will be easier to work with. However, this does not mean the calf will come out being easy, genital, and go right into walking on a lead, of course it will take some work, but it should be much easier for it to be taught. Rather than a calf that has producers that are not calm. It would be a lot harder to work with, and make it into a smooth club calf. Next are your EPD s (Expected Progeny Differences). These are the fastest way to make improvements in cattle genetics. An EPD is the data that is collected from the economical traits of future offspring. They are an extremely useful tool in determining your next sire for your herd. What they do is, help determine whether a bull, cow, or heifer is enough to produce calves that are needed to help your improvements to your
  • 4. Study on Delhi The lack of standard concepts in research is perhaps the most significant difficulty in the comparison of results between studies.[1] In the running injury field, many researchers have noted the problem of how to define a running related injury.[2 4] Some investigators have suggested the need for a standardised definition of running related injury.[2, 5 7] However, a consensushas not yet been reached; thus, researchers have used different definitions in their studies.[3, 8, 9] Currently, the rates of prevalence and incidence of running injuries vary between 19% and 92%, depending on the injury definition adopted in the study. This means that the lack of standardisation of injury definitions may affect study results.[2, 3, 5, 9 15] For instance, Bovens, et al. [16] used a broad definition of running related injury as any physical complaint developed in relation with running activities and causing restriction in running distance, speed, duration or frequency ; they found an injury incidence of 84.9%. On the other hand, Blair, et al. [17] adopted a more stringent definition of running related injury as an injury that causes the runners to stop running for at least seven days ; they found a lower injury incidence of 24%. The higher rate of injury found in the first study may be due to the lack of a specific period of interruption or time off from running in the definition used, in contrast to the definition used in the second study, which clearly specifies the period of
  • 5. Tuna That Go By The Scientific Name Of Thunnus Maccoyii Tuna that go by the scientific name of Thunnus Maccoyii (Dennis. M et.al, 2010) are one of the most valuable finfish cultured within Australian and most sought after for sushi within Japan. The waters generally out from Port Lincoln within Spencer Gulf, South Australia are where the tuna are mainly cultured in Australia due to the water temperature being ideal for the culture of these highly valued finfish. Tunais within the top four of the most valuable cultured aquatic species in Australia especially Southern Bluefin Tuna (SBT) which are valued at four hundred dollars per fish making the transport and capture of these fish very important where damage is avoided at all costs. The transport of the captured fish from the wild in nets back into shallower water where they can then participate in the ranching stage can lead to serious problems and can bring upon mortalities if done incorrectly. Ranching is the process of temporally holding wild fish at sea to fatten them on baitfish. (Kirchoff. Well, I thought about it and I did some research about the famous trials that happened between the years 1945 through 1949. These trials were made up after a man by the name of Adolf Hitler wanted world domination and he treated the jews horribly. This event solved a lot of problems from establishing an International Court and knowing what to do with the men that helped Hitler with the Holocaust. The charges were among many things but mostly crimes against hummanity was the most used charge. This trial also brought in interpreters, because all of the judges and people that were tried spoke at least 4 different languages, and they needed somebody that understood the languages and could translate it back quickly and effictiently. The prison sentences went from at least 10 years to life behind bars. 10 of the condemned were excuted by hanging on October 16, 1946. One of Hitler s right hand man and the commander of the Luftwaffe commited suicide with a Cyannide pill the night before his execution. The Major War Criminals Trials ended in the year of 1946, then the Allies started a new trial that had the lesser people on trial. These people ranged from doctors, store owners, and lawyers. This set of trials were called the subsequent trials. There were a total of 12 trials grouped together to form the subsequent trials. (2004).On the History of Indoor Air Quality and Health. Indoor Air 7(14), 51 58. Indoor air is a critical factor to human health. More than half of the air inhaled is at the homes. Indoor air quality plays a huge role in one s health. Poor ventilation is one of the main causes of deaths in developing countries. In developed countries, IAQ (Indoor Air quality) is a main cause of allergies, other hypersensitivity reactions, air way infections and cancer. The relation between IAQ and health is not given high importance. Studies shows that ventilation rates below 25 l/s per person increases short term sick leave and reduces productivity. More efforts are being put into building physics, HVAC engineering and architecture for better IAQ standards. Dampness, Ventilation, Building materials and indoor air chemistry are one of the primary factors affecting Indoor air quality and health, but lacks scientific data and needs to be researched more on. This is a show about the rest of the world trying to survive the zombie apocalypse. But, is there more to this series than just the blood, gore, and death? Yes, it seems there truly is more to this series. The Walking Dead is about many things including: family, friendship, love, forgiveness, and learning who to trust, it s not just filled with horror as some may believe. Rick, one of the main characters, quickly learns that he has been betrayed by his own wife and best friend. This is where the plot thickens and the true meanings in this show start to come into play, but first let s take a few steps back. After waking up in the hospital alone... They have no time to grieve because the family they just lost is now one of them, a flesh eating zombie. Here comes the blood and gore, or from a different angle, love and respect for their family. What do they do now that the one they ve lost has turned into a zombie? They must kill them of course. Some see an act to keep themselves alive, and I absolutely agree, but a true fan can put themselves in their shoes and realize that they only want the best for their family. To keep them from being this horrible creature they must kill them, and they do it out of love. By doing this they get the chance to grieve and give this person a proper burial, well as proper as it can be in this life. This family keeps going no matter what. They lose people, but they also meet new people. At times, they find this shocking to learn they are not the only people left. It seems like if you found another living person in this world you would be thrilled, but surprisingly some people aren t. This group has had multiple bad experiences with new people, but it has taught them all a valuable lesson, not to trust everyone they

While the song was greeted with a great deal of support, it was also faced with backlash. Some individuals believed that Macklemore was authentic and was able to depict the struggles that gays face on an everyday basis, while some thought that he did not have the right and the authority to write this song and tell such a powerful message. Some celebrities had strong reactions to the song as well. When Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi both heard about the song, they immediately started crying and were thankful, but other gaycelebrities thought that the song was pitiful. In Tibetan Buddhism it is common for devotees to practice asceticism. In Hopi culture and religious tradition food and sex play large and important roles, although in different situations the roles may be completely opposite. In Sun Chief particularly the chapter called the Making of a Man we can see that food is very important spiritually to the Hopi people. In the Wowochim ceremony each boy is given their manhood name over a mother corn ear (159). In each of a dozen or more ceremonies we see that certain practices such as the sprinkling of corn (159, 160, 162, etc.), or the eating of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This feast celebration suggests that in the case of food, while there are certain sacred times which require food to be abstained from, for the large part the Hopi consider food to be something given to them to enjoy and indulge in freely. Sex is mentioned in Sun Chief along much the same lines as is food. During the Medicine Ceremony, for example, on the seventh day which is spent making pahos, or special offerings to the Gods for rain and good harvest, our narrator states that If a sexual thought had come into my mind, I would have tried to free myself of it and would not have mentioned the subject to a fellow member even to relieve him of hiccoughs an excellent remedy on other occasions (170). From this statement we can draw two conclusions about Hopi thoughts on sex. First, while sex does not seem to be abstained from during all ceremonies, during certain especially important spiritual events, sex is considered improper. Second, by referring to discussion of sex as something as mundane as a cure for hiccoughs, we can see that sex is in most circumstances something indulged in often and without any feelings of shame or sin. Looking at the Hopi attitudes toward food and sex as seen in Sun Chief, it is safe to say that the Hopi, under everyday circumstances, are a people who follow their natural wants and needs. The concept of self restraint from such natural desires, while not entirely foreign, is not something the

Although they started off with a humble beginning, they quickly grew into a great civilization that dominated present day Central Mexico. They conquered and expanded into an empire stronger than the other neighboring empires. The heart of the Aztecempire, Tenochtitlan, was a grand capital filled with many people and astounding temples. The Aztecs were also ahead of their time with fully functional government and irrigation systems. They continue to astound many historians with their diverse way of life. They impacted the way of life for many people today with their customs and ways of life. Throughout the years, the Aztecs were able to grow and prosper with their sufficient supply of agriculture and blessed fertile lands of the Mexican Valley, and demonstrated to be an important part of Mexican heritage. Because of their history, unique culture, and beautiful architecture, the Aztec Civilization truly is one of Mesoamerica s most influential early empires. The Aztec Empire has the history of a fast growing empire destined to dominate Mesoamerica s empires. Although their exact origins are unclear, experts believe the Aztecs evolved from a tribe of nomadic hunters (History 1). They conquered nearly all of Mesoamerica, creating an empire stretching from the Gulf of Mexico to the Pacific Ocean and south to present day Guatemala (Mcdowell

Tax System In 1990, the IRS commissioned a comprehensive nationwide survey of taxpayers to obtain their overall perception of its administration of the U.S. tax system. NPM related questions from this survey were re asked to taxpayers to determine any potential changes in response patterns (VanDenburgh 2004, 2). Several questions were re asked to allow for an assessment of differences between the 1990 responses and the 2004 responses during research by William M. VanDenburgh (2004). The concept of logic of action, which derives from institutional theory, is valuable to understanding why the IRS case is not aberrant and why there exists an implicit tension between merit ideals and the performance paradigm (Thompson 2006, 498). Patterns of behavior derive from institutional rules that create incentives to act in one way or another. They also derive from norms that have arisen over time that govern what behaviors are considered appropriate. Important for the purpose of this argument is the existence of an underlying logic according to which behavioral patterns, incentives, and norms are interlocked (Thompson 2006, 498). Adoption of a new NPM requires an agency organizational structure to become more competitive and business like. In other words, a private market focus is to be incorporated in the organization. The IRS was heavily criticized because auditors forcefully went after non filers when some IRS employees themselves were not filing tax returns (VanDenburgh 2004, 91). Due to
  • 18. Personal Reflection Of Personal Writing Hi Professor Savage, You mention in your email quite a few references to my writing having some serious issues, yet in the grading not one example was pointed out . I ask that if you believe the same applies to any part of the draft submission that you highlight at least the one that will explain any significant point deduction. More, importantly, I would like to know exactly where I can use improvements, plus I prefer clarity as to where and/or why points were taken off in this class. Sometimes stylistic choice is mistaken for poor writing or incoherent or illogical as you suggested. I have not come across any professor that has said so much about my writing (negatively) and not offer any example. A link in this case is not exactly the solution for all that was implied. Anyhow, my main goal is to focus on where I can fix it myself, so please. show where, next time thanks. You said, The essayis not intended to be a personal reflection or a guide for writers but rather an advocacy for an idea. The journal and notes came across reflective, well, because they re preliminary tools, the scaffold to the final, right. I understand the draft and final are 3rd POV, backed by annotation, and my opinion as well, but not delivered as a personal narrative. The backstory was merely to show I am speaking from some experience. We cannot advocate what we don t understand, sure credible annotations are needed, but self publishing is a hands on approach, therefore, subjective, too. I m concerned about a few things, and then again, not so much knowing all these assignments leading to the actual final submission are meant to serve us as a form of outline the chaos, ironed out. As you must be aware brainstorming can happen at any stage. However, I do have a few comments on some changes you suggested (thanks) and those I have in mind. You said, concisely, , and I assure you my aim for the final, I don t worry too much at these stages, as I will rigorously edit, revise and chisel away from the draft, and then polish for the final. Furthermore, incorporate any feedback if given and are applicable from the workshop and your grading notes. I m not fond of MindEdge s outline approach, but I do get the gist, while still using what

This book is primarily a history book that speaks about the creation, ratification, and the implementation of the United States Constitution with regards to slavery. The author is trying to convey to the reader that the Constitution, while never actually mentioning slavery, had slavery written all over it. The author chose this topic to talk about because it s very clear by reading Constitution once that there isn t much discussion about slavery. The cause of the large gap simply could have been a measuring mistake and or possibly an added human error. After making our final tweaks to our calorimeters we moved on to experimenting with the heat changes for several acids and a base mixture continuing from week one. We tested the same base (Sodium Hydroxide) with three different acids (Acetic Acid, Nitric Acid, and Hydrochloric Acid) all at one molarity; results are shown in Table 2. After testing our three experiments we discovered a pattern with our acid and base reactions. Noticing that when we tested a stronger acid with a base the reaction would give off higher heat energy readings; versus the weak acid we tested. Which proves that there is a connection between chemical strength and heat energy. Leaving us with the conclusion that the stronger the chemical used, the greater heat energy released from the reaction that took place. Moving on with our project into week two we continued to test acids and bases; but, we changed the acid and base molarity this time as seen in Table 3. The point of this experiment was to see if the acid and base molarity (that we changed from 1, 3, and to 6 moles) would affect the amount of heat energy given off. We tested the same Acetic Acid and NaOH. Measuring 50mL of one mole NaOH and adding 50mL one mole Acetic Acid. We tested each experiment twice to make sure we were accurate and checked for possible errors made. We did have one
  • 22. The Benefits Of Living Wage INTRODUCTION: The living wage is based on the amount an individual needs to earn to cover the basic costs of living. Living costs changes from place to place in country so there is different living wage rate for London and rest of the country. Living wage is administered and promoted by the Living wage foundation. Politicians has given its widespread support but limited endorsement is been given by employers. The particular amount that must be earned per hour to meet these needs varies depending on location. In the 1990s the first living wage campaigns were launched by community initiatives in the US addressing increasing poverty faced by workers and their families. They argued that employee, employer, and the community win with a living wage. Employees would be more willing to work, helping the employer reduce worker turnover, and it would help the community when the citizens have enough to have a decent life. Prime Minister David Cameron has said he supports the idea in principle. Ken Livingstone and Boris Johnson both London s former and current mayor, are supporters of living wage. The Greater London Authority (GLA) is among the organisations that pay the living wage to their employees. Face Negotiation Theory By Stella Ting Toomey Face negotiation theory was developed by Stella Ting Toomey, a professor of Speech Communication at California State University, Fullerton, who earned her Ph.D. from the University of Washington in 1981. She developed the theory after being influenced by the work of Goffman, and Brown and Levinson. Ting Toomey (1988) states an assumption of face negotiation theory is that people in all cultures try to maintain and negotiate face in all communication situations. Another assumption of the theory described by Ting Toomey (1988) is that face is problematic in sensitive interpersonal situations, such as conflict. According to Oetzel and Ting Toomey (2003), the theory is useful in explaining both differences and similarities in face and facework during conflict situations. Many scholars have researched specific areas regarding face negotiation theory. The areas mentioned below will focus on the concept of face, conflict, and intercultural situations. The concept of face is important in conflict situations because communicators should protect their own interests, and avoid violating others interests during the interaction. Face has many different definitions, written by many different scholars. Ting Toomey (1988) defines face as an individual s claimed sense of positive image in the context of social interaction (Ting Toomey, 1988) . Another definition of face is a claimed sense of favorable social self worth that a person wants others to have of her or him (Ting Toomey

Through the end of the twentieth century, Shimano was recognized as a major player in the global market of bicyclecomponents manufacturing and distribution to both Europe and the U.S. But stagnated product sales and competition abroad in the early 2000 s, most notably from the American competitor SRAM Corporation, had a negative impact on its international market growth. Besides global and local economics, stagnated sales, and stiff competition abroad (especially in the U.S. where more provocative bicycle designs captured a majority of the domestic and European market share once dominated by Shimano), the location of its home base has does not appear to have played a major role in the decline of Shimano s once global competitive edge. We may now restore that temple to the ancient truths. ; he plays upon the social needs as well as builds up his credibility with the audience by stating his plan to combat the depression, broad Executive power to wage a war against the emergency, as great as the power that would be given to me if we were in fact invaded by a foreign foe. ; and cements his argument with his claims of value and policy, exposing the flaws of pre depression American society, and eventually calling for the change he believes necessary to force America out of the depression, we apply social values more noble than mere monetary profit. . Franklin Delano Roosevelt goes to such lengths to earn the support of his fellow Americans in order to unite the entire country in

  • 38. Examples Of Social Stratification In The Great Gatsby Matthew Foung Per. 5 Prompt #3 It is impossible for man to create a perfect society where there are no classes. It is inevitable and classes will emerge; the wealthy will rise to the top and the poor will sink to the bottom of the social pyramid. This separation not only affects general living but also relationships with other classes. In The Great Gatsby by Scott Fitzgerald, social stratification is evident and separated by three settings: the Valley of Ashes, West Egg, and East Egg. Located between New York City and West Egg, the Valley of Ashes is a place where the outcasts of society and the indigents reside. This desolate area is filled with ashes [that] grow like wheat into ridges and hills and grotesque gardens (27). This simile ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Before this vacation, I was so excited and I thought this place was going to be all movie stars and celebrities, but I was wrong. Over the summer I went to Los Angeles, California and Las Vegas Nevada. Now, I am not telling you about two different trips, this was all in one trip. On August fifth, 2017 we drove two hours to Indianapolis and got on a plane to go to California. The flight was about four hours, three hours and fifty eight minutes to be exact. We had first class. My dad and sister sat next to each other and my mom and I sat next to each other. Once we landed at the airport in Los Angeles, we had to get our suitcases and our rental car. Once we got to our hotel, it was ten o clock p.m. their time, Twelve o clock a.m. our time. We were all hungry because even though we had food on the plane, most of us didn t eat it. So we ordered pizza and went to bed. The next day, we went to the Walk of Fame and saw all the movie stars names on the stars. We also went on some tours, such as TM Z. TM Z was probably my favorite thing we did there, it was so much fun! We also went to the Chinese Theater museum and went to go see the Hollywood sign, from afar. We also went to this very nice restaurant, my dad enjoyed a lot. The next few days, we

Further, national politicians signed unwise trade agreements with countries that placed the United States in a subservient position on trade. This is a principle taught so often in the scriptures that it has been drilled into our memory. Even if you don t happen to belong to a religious family this is still a principle that is passed down from generation to generation. So, then what exactly does it mean to honor your father and mother ?
