Air Superiority In The Military
Introduction (1/2) Air superiority is the single most important factor in deciding the outcome of a
modern conventional war. Military operations on land, sea, or in the air are extremely difficult, if not
impossible, for the side that doesn t control the sky. In the words of Field Marshal Bernard L.
Montgomery, If we lose the war in the air, we lose the war and we lose it quickly. (supremacy)
[introduction] ,
Main Point 1: Identify and describe a deficiency in a Joint Force Capability, significant risk
description, what is the risk for future joint operations?(1)
#Air Superiority# Counter air operations are designed to gain control of the air and wrest such control
away from an adversary. Air superiority is a condition on the spectrum of air control, which ranges
from adversary air supremacy, to air parity, to friendly air supremacy. The air superiority condition is
achieved when friendly operations are able to proceed without prohibitive interference from opposing
forces. In modern military operations, achieving this level of control of the air is a critical pre
condition for success. Air superiority provides freedom from attack, freedom to attack, freedom of
action, freedom of access, and freedom of awareness. Importantly, it also precludes adversaries from

President s Budget. AS 2030 capability development will need to be balanced against other Air Force
mission areas and operational environments.

Violent Video Games Cause Violent Crime
The most frequently asked question in recent years is, do violent video games lead to violent crime?
Most people would think that the answer is a simple yes or no answer, but it s not. This type of
correlation is not all black and white; there is a lot of misconception and misunderstanding about it. In
this paper, I will be discussing the history of violent video games. I will include scientific studies done
on violent video games. I will include various crime cases involving video games. I will discuss the
effects of violent video games. Lastly, I will give possible solutions to prevent violent crime from
happening. There is a lot of history when it comes to video games and violent video games, but the
earliest violent video games have been around since the 1970s. In 1976, Death Race was the first
video game criticized for its violence. The goal of this game was to run over human like creatures
known as gremlins that made an unrealistic human screaming sound when struck. Since the 1970s,
everything has gone downhill. In the 1980s, beloved games we know today like Pac Man and Super
Mario Bros faced criticism for their cartoon violence. This is because of Pac Man killing the ghosts
and Mario attacking various enemies to achieve his goal to get to the next level. One of the first
graphic violent video games is Mortal Kombat; this game is a one on one fighting game where
realistic human characters usually fight to the death. Soon Mortal Kombat was under fire in 1992 for

The United States Fiscal Year 2016 Is From October 1, 2015,
The United States fiscal year 2016 is from October 1, 2015, to September 30, 2016. The requested
budget was submitted to the 114th Congress. Congress creates a new budget for the United States
every year. This process is also called the appropriation process. These bills specify how much money
will go to the different government agencies and government programs. Congress will then have to
pass legislation that will provide the federal government the authority to spend the money giving to
them.
There are five key steps in the budgeting process
1. The President will submit a budget request to Congress. This is just a proposal.
2. The House and Senate pass budget resolutions They must vote on their own budget resolutions.
3. House and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The money for the budget comes from income taxes, payroll taxes, and corporate income. These are
the three main sources of the budget s revenue. Income taxes are that the government collects from the
American people. Income taxes make up the federal government s largest revenue source. Payroll
taxes are designated as trust funds. As trust funds, the money collect can only be used for a very
specific purpose such as Social Security. Corporate taxes are paid by companies, though a marginal
tax rate anywhere from fifteen percent to thirdly five percent depending on how much profit the
corporation made. There are also a couple of other types of taxes that add to the revenue such as
excise taxes and miscellaneous taxes. In 2016, individual income tax made up forty nine percent,
which is up five percent from 2015. Payroll taxes made up thirty three percent, which was also up five
percent from the following year. This was due to the growth in people wages and salaries. Corporate
taxes made up nine percent, which fell thirteen percent from the following year. Excise taxes made up
three percent and miscellaneous taxes rounded the budget at seven percent. The total revenues for the
government in 2016 were $2.99 trillion dollars.
So, where does the money go? Below I will just highlight some of the bigger areas of where the
money goes.
Healthcare accounts for more than $1.1 trillion of the federal budget. This is caused by programs like
Medicare which covers

Alfred Adler was born in Vienna, Austria on February 7, 1870. From his birth he had rickets, a disease
that weakens the growth plates in children, and couldn t walk until he was four years of age because of
this. When he was just five, he was taken sick with pneumonia and reportedly almost died, some
believe these early diseases in his life are the inspiration in Adler s path to becoming a physician. In
1888, Alfred began attending the University of Vienna Medical School and later graduated with his
medical degree in 1895. After his education, he became an ophthalmologist, one who deals with the
eyes and the diseases associated with, but soon switched to general practice where he worked near a

woman to get three gold medals in the Olympics for single events.

Wilma was the 20th of 22 children. At a young age, Wilma was stricken with double pneumonia and

Wilma s Coach, Ed Temple, had called her Skeeter. The reason he gave her this name is because she

Human Rights Speech Essay
If there is one message that echoes forth from this conference, it is that human rights are women s
rights.... And women s rights are human rights proclaims Hillary Clinton in her speech entitled,
Women s Rights are Humans Rights. Clinton is widely known as the democratic candidate running in
the 2016 presidential election, but previously was known for delivering her powerful women s rights
speeches all over the globe. This address was given in Beijing, the capital of China, on September 5,
1995 at the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women. This powerful address on women s
rights presents how there should not be a difference between human rights and women s rights; that
they are identical. Clinton wields her ethos, pathos, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Being invited by the secretary general of the United Nations makes her credibility appear stronger,
because it is an honor to be invited by someone of such importance to a national organization. She
also states, Tomorrow, I will attend a gathering of the United Nations Development Fund for women,
(Clinton). Again being invited by the UN. Clinton s expertise on the topic also helps her credibility.
Clinton states, Over the past 25 years, I have worked persistently on issues relating to women,
children, and families. Her providing the amount of time she has worked with women s rights and that
she has worked continuously on these issues makes her more credible. Being a woman provides
enough credibility to be able to speak on the rights of women, but traveling to other countries and
seeing how their women are treated contributes a proper understanding of how dire the situation truly
is.
A final element which makes this speech effective is the use of style. Towards the middle of Clinton s
speech, she is talking about the violation of human rights. She begins seven sentences with It is a
violation of human rights... and using this phrase provides power for her statements:
It is a violation of human rights when babies are denied food...

William Golding Lord Of The Flies Comparative Analysis Essay
Researched Analysis Lord of the Flies Have you ever read a book that connects to the outside world?
Here is your chance. The book by William Golding called Lord of the Flies has a big connection with
some of the conflicts within the book and the outside world. As I got deeper into my research on the
Cold War and WWII the more it revealed, it began to link together. I believe the author William
Golding thought it would be a unique challenge to make the book one big linking message of how the
world all connects together. Everything does happen for a reason. The unique way Golding wrote his
book the way he did is very interesting because of all the connections that make you think one or two
steps deeper into the book. It surprisingly also relates to some of the events from the Cold War and
WWII. Here are a few examples of how the book connects to these historic events. ... Show more

Essay about Nine Inch Nails versus Johnny Cash
Which Version Of Hurt Would You Prefer?
Nine Inch Nails versus Johnny Cash The song Hurt written by Trent Reznor and originally performed
by his band Nine Inch Nails is a melancholy, haunting song. Nine Inch Nails version was recorded in
1994 and rerecorded and released by Johnny Cash in 2002. Each of the performers has a style, which
some people would argue is at opposite ends of the spectrum of popular music; one is what is referred
to as Industrial Rock , the other is country. Indeed, the musical genres are diverse; however, the song
Hurt transcends the boundaries between old and new, hard and soft, and especially the differences and
similarities between these men. Nine Inch Nails is known for their industrial rock ... Show more

Reznor is not only a performer; he regularly produces records for other artists ( The Nine Inch Nails

cover the song Hurt . Sharples states, It was as if Trent Reznor unconsciously wrote it for Mr. Cash
(2011). Trent Reznor was flattered that someone with Johnny s musical talent and long standing status
in the music world would even be interested in interpreting his song. When Trent first heard the final
copy of Johnny s version, Trent stated, . . .it felt like somebody kissed your girlfriend ( The Nine Inch
Nails Wiki, 2012). According to Sharples, it would be some four months later that Trent and his music
team would see Johnny s video for the song. It was then that Reznor was flattered, honored, and
moved to tears by the results (2011). Reznor says. By the end I was really on the verge of tears. There
was, like, this moist clearing of our throats and then, Uh, OK, let s get some coffee. (Sharples, 2011).
After Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, Trent became angry at the lack of response of the
government. He had interest in New Orleans because his studio was a place he perfected his sound
and made music that earned Platinum status in sales. Reznor played a benefit telethon concert to aid

1. Differentiate between the significance of the coefficients in a balanced chemical equation and the
significance of the subscripts in a chemical formula.
· Coefficients show the correct proportions of atoms and molecules in a chemical reaction. They are
normal sized numbers placed at the beginning of the chemical formulas in a chemical reaction during
the process of balancing. They tell how many of an entire chemical formula is in a reaction.
· Subscripts show the correct proportions of atoms/ions in a chemical formula. They are the small

· Plasma has neither a definite volume nor a definite shape.
· Plasma is often seen within ionized gases.
· Plasma is distinct from a gas because it possesses unique properties: o It contains free electrical
charges (not bound to atoms or ions) o It can be produced by heating and ionizing a gas. · Plasma is
often found in areas of the planet/universe where extremely high heats are possible and gases exist to
help create the plasma.
8. Put hydrogen bonds, dispersion forces and dipole dipole forces in order of how strong they are and
give an example of each type of attraction.
· Strongest = Hydrogen bonds which have hydrogen attached to a fluorine, oxygen, or nitrogen
(Example: Oxygen s attraction to other hydrogens in a bunch of H2O s)
· Medium Strength = Dipole Dipole bonds which occur between the slight positive end of one polar
molecule and the slight negative end of another polar molecule (Example: Nitrogen s attraction to
other hydrogens in a bunch of NH3 s)
· Weakest = Dispersion forces which occur in any covalently bonded molecule (Example: Hydrogen s
attraction to other hydrogens in a bunch of CH4 s) Ø Note 1: These are intermolecular forces of
attraction so they occur OUTSIDE of the molecules! Ø Notes 2: One covalent bond can be all three
types at once.

Introduction A performance appraisal is a key element in organization and can be one of the greatest
tools used to record employee production. Organizations can establish their goals and objectivities,
while involving the employees in the process. Conducting a performance appraisal increases
productivity and morale and can prove to be effective in performance production. Appraisals are a
positive way for an employee to know how well they are performing the duties assigned to them, and

The outcome of this appraisal can have a strong impact on the employees self esteem. This appraisal
should in no way demoralize the employee, which would cause an increase of higher employee
turnovers for the organization. Encouraging employees to conduct self performance appraisals would
be great for the employee as well as for the organization. By promoting self appraisals for the
employees, builds a good rapport between the employees and the supervisor or manager. The
employee becomes more familiar with their standards of performance, and will more often than not
work harder to exceed their own standards. When a manger provides feedback to the employee about
the appraisal in a timely manner, the employee can quickly view his or her shortcomings and begin to
improve in the needed areas of work. Feedback must be timely enough to allow the employee to make
the necessary adjustments. Another key element for a good appraisal system is for the organization to
set objectivities to decide what the organization wants from the employees and have the employee
agree with them and also to set timelines for these objectivities to be met. A good appraisal system
will also include ways to reward the employee for work performed effectively and productively. Pay
awards or extra vacation days are good incentivizes for employees to produce excellent work, but this
must not be overdone

Argumentative Essay On Guns On Campus
Guns on campus?
Would school shootings be reduced if guns were allowed on college campus or would it make more
school shootings. Not very many people believe that guns were allowed to be carried around with
them throughout the day let alone a school campus, surprising adults and staff at colleges students are
allowed to have guns on college campuses in Georgia and Arkansas. Some people on these college
campuses feel that they need a gun to put a hold on school shooters or just for defending themselves.
But others feel that it jeopardizes the campus. It makes them feel in more insecure because the
students do not know who may have a gun on campus which makes students frightened to just be on
campus. With that information guns on college grounds is a controversial topic because some people
feel the need to protect themselves by having a gun on campus and others feel the need to leave the
guns and weapons to the authorities by not having guns on campuses.
One reason why guns should be legalized on a college campus is for protecting yourself and you other
peers. There is an argument going on whether or not guns should be considered on campus. In
Georgia, guns are allowed on campus and a few people state their opinion on this controversial topic.

The Innovation Of Cancer Treatment
Cancer, since the beginning of history, has plagued humanity and claimed countless lives. For
thousands of years, doctors could do little more than watch with horror as their patients succumbed to
the often fatal condition. There is still no definite cure for cancer. However, while one might say that
treatment is still in its infancy today, therapies have evolved dramatically over the last century. The
innovation of chemotherapy marked a turning point in cancer treatment. Dr. Sidney Farber, a pediatric
pathologist, is regarded as the father of modern chemotherapy due to his success in inducing remission
in leukemia patients through the use of chemical agents. Through Dr. Farber s innovation,
chemotherapy strengthened the relationship ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Today, while there is no cure for cancer, various treatments are available depending on the type and
severity of the disease. Generally, tumors are surgically removed. This treatment is most often
combined with other therapies such as radiation and chemotherapy ( Types of Treatment ).
The earliest records of cancer date back to ancient times to an account on the Edwin Smith papyrus, an
ancient Egyptian textbook on surgery and medicine. The writer described a woman with several
tumors on her breasts along with the doctor s futile attempts at curing her. For their conclusion, the
Egyptian writer simply stated that there is no treatment (Bushak). Even though cancer has existed
since ancient times, its basic genetic background was not discovered until 1902. Theodor Boveri, a
zoologist, found that a specific type of mutated chromosomes could result in cells with an unlimited
ability to divide. These types of mutations were likely the result of exposure to what are now known
as carcinogens, or cancer causing substances. Carcinogens include pathogens, radiation, chemicals,
and numerous other environmental factors. In 1902, even though a more complete understanding of
cancer was available, the only available treatment options for patients was the removal of surface
tumors. Due to the metastatic nature of the majority of these tumors, purely surgical treatment was
largely ineffective. In non tumorous cancers, there

The Advantages Of Vernacular Architecture
Architecture is inhabited sculpture to serving human needs, apparently forgotten in modern age
architecture. However, there has been a dependence and increase on energy expending such as cooling,
heating, ventilation and lighting frameworks to accomplish human solace in structures. the pattern has
sensibly swung the other way. designers are grasping regionalism and cultural building tradition, given
that these structures have turned out to be vitality productive and sustainable. In this season of

Vernacular building design started when humanity was compelled to make utilization of the natural

A lot of credit card debt can lower your credit rating.

Group
Your credit score is a complicated mix of factors, such as how much you owe, how timely your
payments are, the kind of credit you have and how long you ve had that credit. Rating companies use
proprietary formulas to come up with your credit score, which is used to determine how credit worthy
you are. Lenders use this to decide whether to loan you money and, if they make the loan, how high
your interest rate will be. Paying off your debts can help to raise your credit score and make it easier
for you to get new credit, such as a mortgage or a new car loan. Exactly how much paying off a credit
card helps you varies, but there is no question that paying off even a single card will help.
FICO
The Fair Isaac Company is one of the most commonly used sources of credit ratings, a number often
referred to as your FICO score. While the company won t reveal exactly how they come up with the
number, the company s consumer information page reports that 35 percent of your FICO score is
based on whether your payments are made on time, and 30 percent of it is determined by how much

raise your score by the same amount. If you have a lot of debt and pay off a credit card with a small

A Unique Point Of View
A Unique Point of View Unique point of view strongly influences Scott F. Fitzgerald s Bernice Bobs
Her Hair and Sandra Cisneros short story Eleven. Bernice Bobs Her Hair portrays a girl willing to
give up her unique character to form a new and attractive personality from the help from those around
her which she hopes will make her more mentally attractive. Furthermore, Sandra Cisneros Eleven
captures a girl emotionally unsettled who observes in herself that while she turns eleven, she also
portrays emotions from her past ages of ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, and one
through a dilemma caused by her misunderstanding teacher. Both authors incorporate comparable and
contrasting point of view styles ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Comparably, in Bernice Bobs Her Hair this problem also lies great since the entirety of its story
Fitzgerald writes in third person. Third person provides an impeccable description of every situation,
however, without shifting to any other point of view, Fitzgerald disadvantages the reader in obtaining
a more personal view of one of the main characters. For example, at the time where Bernice is about
to cut off her cousin Marjorie s hair it states, She was by the bedside now, very deliberate and calm.
She acted swiftly. Bending over she found one of the braids of Marjorie s hair, followed it up with her
hand to the point nearest the head, and then holding it a little slack so that the sleeper would feel no
pull, she reached down with the shears and severed it. Without the use of first or second person, the
reader lacks in attaining Bernice s thoughts leading up to her drastic action and cutting off Marjorie s
hair. Overall, through both stories use of one main point of view, reader s lack attaining a different
perspective of Fitzgerald s Bernice Bobs Her Hair and Cisneros Eleven.
Second, Bernice Bobs Her Hair more effectively uses narration in its story since Fitzgerald uses an
omniscient narrative presence so that the reader can get a glimpse of all the characters thoughts and
feelings. This overall better use of narration reoccurs throughout the book such as at the time that
Rachel asks Charley s opinion whether or not she should bob her hair by

Additionally, it was also evident that many of the heterosexual pairings observed seemed to adhere to

Upon analyzing the interactions between opposite sex pairings or groups, it was apparent that the
distance between the individuals involved seemed to be less than one foot, and many of those involved
in these interactions walked, stood, or sat angled toward one another. The lack of distance between
individuals suggests that there were higher levels of intimacy involved in the relationships of the
opposite sex pairings, and their apparent willingness to display this openly reinforced the idea that
heterosexism promotes public displays of heterosexual relationships and heterosexual intimacy. Allan
Johnson s (2006) assertion that heterosexuals are free to reveal and live their intimate relationships
openly... without being accused of flaunting their sexuality (Johnson, 2006, p. 29) is confirmed by the
behaviors exhibited by all of the heterosexual pairings observed. These heterosexual pairings seemed
considerably less reserved than their same sex counterparts and appeared to be comfortable exposing

The Iranian Language Essay
Today the Iranian languages are spoken from Central Turkey, Syria and Iraq in the west to Pakistan
and the western edge of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China in the east. In the North, its
outposts are Ossetic in the central Caucasus and Yaghnobi and Tajik Persian in Tajikistan in Central
Asia, while in the South they are bounded by the Persian Gulf, except for the Kumzari enclave on the
Masandam peninsula in Oman.
Historically, the New Iranian stage overlaps with the Islamization of Iranian speaking lands in the
seventh century CE. The Middle Iranian stage began in the third century BCE. The oldest stages go
back to the beginning of the second millennium BCE. The oldest physical document of Iranian is the

The later Iranians moved into and across the Iranian plateau, both carrying the new social structure
with their languages, with a lasting impact on the socio political structures of Iran and Afghanistan,
and the subcontinent.
The Iranians on their part can probably be correlated with the subsequent so called Yaz I culture in the
BMAC complex, which reflects major cultural changes towards a more rural society after 1 500 BCE.
They apparently remained in Central Asia, and only by the end of the second millennium BCE began
to spread over the Iranian plateau. By the second half of the eighth century BCE, Iranian Median and
Persian tribes (Mada and Parswa) had already been long established among the original non Iranian
speakers of the Zagros mountain ranges of Iranian Kurdestan, according to the records of the Assyrian
ruler Shalmaneser III (r. 858 824 BCE). Minorsky (1957: 78) recognized that the name of the tiny
village Qal a Paswe near Solduz in Kurdestan retains the memory of the Iranian settlements (cf. also
Zadok 200 1; 2002). The successors of the Parswa tribes who settled in the southwest of the Iranian
plateau created the Achaemenid Empire (ca. 558 330 BCE) which, beginning with the Sasanian period
(224 6 5 1 CE) and thereafter, ultimately resulted in the dominance of Persian over the Iranian
expanse.

Pros And Cons Of Rescue Services
Would You Risk Two Lives Just To Save One? Did you know that over two hundred thirty deaths have
happened on Mount Everest and that rescue services have only successfully removed thirty bodies?
Those people died because they were unprepared by not having enough oxygen or they didn t plan
accordingly. Being unprepared, not being physically fit, and putting other people at risk are three
reasons why I think that Rescue Services should not be allowed for people who put themselves at risk.
My first reason I think that rescue services should not be allowed to people who put themselves at risk
is that they might not only put themselves at risk but also the people who are trying to save them. It

Christian Faith Jesus Is The Father Of God Or The Son Of Man

Introduction According to Christian faith Jesus is the son of God or the son of man. To me He is my
savior meaning he is the one that was sent to die on the cross for me and all of creation. I believe Jesus
was able to feel and go through a lot of the struggles that so many of us go through every day. Jesus is
my healer, he was beaten and bruised and because of it I believe that he healed me. He was a perfect
example of how we should live life, giving the good news that he was sent by God to heal everyone
who was sick, to restore families and households. He gives hope to those that are poor, he preached
that God wanted them to be wealthy and have an abundant life. He did not come to condemn me but to
encourage me. However according the book of Matthew based on who Jesus is he is compassionate,
healer and responds to our Faith.
How would I React?
If I was exiting the 99 highway and a women is standing at the end of the exit ramp, in old clothing
with a somber look on her face. I noticed she has a small bottle of vodka and is smoking a cigarette.
She holds a sign that reads Homeless Widow. No family. No money Anything helps, God Bless. What
issues would Jesus raise concerning this situation? How would Jesus respond? Based on who Jesus is I
believe that he would tell the homeless women to drop her cigarettes and alcohol, he would tell her

Lab Report Miscible Liquid Water And 1-Propanol
Introduction The lab was a distillation lab that involved 2 miscible liquids, water and 1 propanol in a
50% volume per volume mixture. These two solutions created an azeotrope where the two liquids
have a constant boiling point throughout the distillation. The method used to distill the 1 propanol was
fractional distillation, this involved packed fractionating columns that were attached to a distilling
flask, when the hot vapour hit the cold packaging, the Liebig condenser, it was condensed. This was
repeated many times so the final solution condensed was most likely pure 1 propanol. This is called
refluxing, where the liquid is condensed and returned to liquid. [1]
There are many real life applications of distillation that are used everyday, ... Show more content on

As soon as there wasn t enough 1 propanol the boiling point shot up to 93°C. In this case the solution
of water and 1 propanol acted as ideal liquids where the lower boiling point liquid distilled first and
then the higher boiling point liquid. There also was a minimum and maximum boiling point observed.
This distillation method is quite efficient, this was determined by calculating the percent error for the
experiment (shown in the appendix). A 5.34% error is very low, this means that 95% of what is
theoretically possible to distill from this mixture was actually collected when performing the
experiment. The apparatus used for the distillation involved having the thermometer in a silicone
pocket. This is due to the fact that silicone improves thermal conductivity rather than just having the
thermometer in the air or in the mixture of water and propanol. Silicone has a thermal conductivity of
0.1 compared to 0.58 of water [4]. The optimal drop rate was at 15 20 drops per minute, if the drop
rate was lower the lab would take a long time to complete, which is very inefficient. However, a
higher drop rate would increase the possibility of missing the boiling point change. Boiling chips were
added to the round bottom flask, their purpose was to ensure the mixture boils smoothly so the
solution doesn t get superheated or boil

Tang Dynasty Essay
Throughout this course, one learns about the development of Chinese society and economy. As most
economies and societies do, it grows and decreases. New practices are created, new policies are
proposed, and so on. One of the most common ways to look at the history of China is to look at the
different dynasties. This essay will use the different dynasties in a chronical order to show how the
economy of China grew, fell and, at one point, stagnated. The different dynasties is the Tang, Song,
Ming and Qing. During this time, the Mongols also invaded China and it is very important to consider
this as well as such a major change would have effects on society. This essay will also look at Chinese

Summary Of Electroencephalogram (EEG)
Stage 1 is the Electroencephalogram (EEG). The EEG provides a summary of electro activity from a
certain area of the brain. The EEG is also the sum of the electrical activity of all neurons between the
two recording electrodes (Garrett,2015). Stage 1 is when one is feeling drowsy and transitioning into a
state of sleep (Thien Thanh Dang Vu, 2017). Stage 2 is the K complex. These are sharp waves that
happen at least once a minute. This stage characterizes the first stage of sleep. Stage 2 has an
appearance of spindles (Thien Thanh Dang Vu, 2017). Where the waves have a gating function that

Essay on Dropouts and CTE
Dropouts and CTE
In October 2000, the overall picture of high school dropouts had changed little since the late 1980s
(Kaufman et al. 2001): For every 100 young adults enrolled in high school in October 1999, 5 had left
school without completing a program; of 34.6 million U.S. young adults aged 16 24, 3.8 million
almost 11 percent had not completed high school and were not enrolled. Some studies have shown that
students in schools with a concentration of multiple risk factors (e.g., large schools, large classes, high
poverty, inner city location) have less than one chance in two of graduating from high school;
furthermore, the economic costs of dropping out have increased as time goes on (Castellano et al.
2001). Adjusting for 50 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mertens et al. (1982) analyzed data from the New Youth cohort of the National Longitudinal Surveys
of Labor Force Behavior and found a very small (about 0.1 percent) but statistically significant effect
of vocational education in reducing the likelihood of dropping out, particularly for at risk students.
Perlmutter (1982) compared secondary retention in a large urban school district among matched
groups of students who applied to vocational high schools and were admitted (Vocational Controls),
those who applied but were not admitted (Targets), and those who had not applied (Academic
Controls). After 1 semester, 18 percent of the Targets had dropped out but none of the Vocational
Controls. After 5 semesters, Vocational Controls had the highest retention rate in district schools (73.7
percent), followed by Academic Controls (68.7 percent) and Targets (58.5 percent). Furthermore,
when both Targets and Academic Controls received any occupational training in academic high
schools, they showed better retention rates.
In a review of research, Boesel et al. (1994) noted that descriptive findings indicated that vocational
students were less likely than general students to drop out (if more likely than academic students).
However, students who defined themselves as vocational students in 12th rather than 9th grade in a
follow up survey or who were defined by having a vocational concentration were often much less

The Evolution Of The Human Body
The evolution of the human body can be observed from studying the intermediates found in ancestral
organisms. Shubin proposes that every attribute that makes us human can be traced back to a time that
showcases its importance for survival. Every single trait in the human body has been selected for
through multiple mechanisms of evolution, natural selection being one of them. This theory is
intriguing because not long ago it was unheard of to relate humans to fish, amphibians, reptiles,
mammals, and birds. Every highly specialized characteristic such as balance, sight, smell, and more
began as an extremely simple mutational advantage. The complexity seems unfathomable to many as
to how the human body as been come to be, but everything can be explained logically once scientists
take a closer look at other organisms. Selective pressure is constantly promoting the survival of
advantages mutations and quickly removing disadvantageous traits. Organisms were not designed to
be what they are today but rather they underwent a lengthy experiment of trial and error.
The different environmental pressures have lead to a vast expansion of biodiversity, each organism is
best suited to fit their own niche. There is no superior organism since the outcome is that the species is
the best adapted to its environment over another species. Species always have a potential niche and a
realized niche where their specific advantageous traits were selected for to aid in their survival.

Gossiping About Masked Strangers

person we layed our eyes on and whispered, Fake. Fake. Fake. Fake. Fake. I giggled at our secretive

Causes Of The Nullification Crisis
Nullification Crisis
Nullification Crisis was a political crisis that happen back in 1812 to 1813 in the United States.
Andrew Jackson s vice president and a native of South Carolina, proposed the theory of nullification,
which declared the tariff unconstitutional and therefore unenforceable The Nullification Crisis created
tensions because they raised prices on manufactured goods, which benefited the domestic
manufacturing industry in the North but was bad for Southern slaveholders, who had to pay higher
prices for goods was a problem between South Carolina and the federal government. Sothern s said
that the Tariffs of 1832 were unconstitutional and therefore and they have to be annulated. The
Nullification Crisis happen because the United States had a bad moment in the economy since it went
down in the late 1820 s. They also feared that foreign countries would enact higher tariffs on raw
materials produced in the South. Moreover, because the British reduced their exports to the United
States in response to the tariff, they had less money to pay for US imports, especially cotton from the
South. The tariff of 1828 raised taxes on imported manufactures to reduce foreign competition with
American manufacturing. Southerners, argued that the tariff enhanced the interests of the Northern
manufacturing industry at their expense. In 1828, during the presidency of John Quincy Adams, the
first protective tariff was passed, the first legislation that included an even higher tariff,

Why It Is Important That I Understand What Independent...
Why it is important that I understand what independent learning is?
Holec H (1981: P.3) states that independent learning is the ability to take charge of one s learning. In
his view it is being able to make informed choices and take responsibility for your own learning
activities. He says two important elements which are vital for the success of learning independently.
He argues that motivation and being confident are key elements to take decisions independently and
act on them.
However, there are different approach to learning and teaching in higher education. The student is
expected to have sufficient maturity to work on their own longer periods without the help of a tutor
being present in the classroom, Stella Cottrell (2008, P. 13). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

It is study time, time for independent learning, Kent (P.1). Students actively seek to identify what is
important relating to their studies. Usage of time effectively and know where resources are. Students
understand how they progress best, Southampton (2013). That requires self management most of the
time students find themselves working alone without a tutor in the room to guide or help. You will be
expected to organise your own study space and time. A great deal of responsibility lies on students for
their own success. This can feel as though study lacks structure. However, it can be also be very
liberating, Stella Cottrell (Chapter 4).
This requires action research which is associated with a series of planning actions by the researcher(s)
and research participants. The main elements of the research process at this stage of the research
include the gathering of data, feedback on results, and cooperative action planning, Jonathan T and
Ewan I, 2014. Researching includes exploiting resources which are available by the university such as
library books, library multimedia resources and internet to search for journals and website to help with
essays, Manchester (2007).
Tutors play a vital role in this process to promote independent learning and motivate students. This is
done by encouraging students to by teaching them the skills to independent learning. Example giving
students choices so they can reflect on their own interests

Garage-Door Research Paper
Before you decide to repair garage door springs, you should be aware of a few things. The springs on
garage doors are under a lot of pressure. If they snap and this is a possibility, they can cause an injury
that can be quite serious. The best thing to do, especially if you are not experienced at this type of
repair is to call a professional. They are specially trained and have the equipment needed to change the
springs or repair them.
Garage door springs are located on both sides of the door. Even if you are only having problems with
one, changing both of them is best. If one breaks or has problems, the other will likely follow suit
shortly. The springs are generally good for approximately 10,000 openings before needing replaced.
Some springs are extension springs and are looped. Other types including torsion springs are used for
garage doors as well.
The springs that are needed are not going to be easy to find ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The measurements for replacements cannot be off even by a little because each one is specific to the
weight of the door on which it is used. This determines the amount of torque that is need when
opening and closing the door.
In addition, when you decide to change the springs yourself, if something is not installed correctly or
the door does not work properly afterward, you must start all over again. This can become quite
expensive. When you seek an expert to perform this repair or replacement, the work should be
guaranteed. This is one of the things that you will want to make sure of before hiring a garage door
repair person.
The parts they use are guaranteed as well. This means that if something happens in a few days and the
garage is not working properly, they will come back and fix the problem without cost to you.
Therefore, the expense that is incurred when must be repaired or replaced is probably going to be less

Design Optimization and Implementation for RF Energy Harvesting Circuits

Abstract A new design for an energy harvesting device is proposed in this paper, which enables
scavenging energy from radiofrequency (RF) electromagnetic waves. Compared to common
alternative energy sources like solar and wind, RF harvesting has the least energy density. The existing
state of the art solutions are effective only over narrow frequency ranges, are limited in efficiency
response, and require higher levels of input power. This paper has

However, given the recent advances in energy efficiency for the circuit components of a sensor (say,
diodes that require less forward voltage threshold), and the low power operation modes supported by
the device itself (say, sleep mode consuming only millivolt), there is a visible need for revisiting
energy harvesting circuit design that can successfully operate a sensor node.
Fig. 1 shows the components of our proposed energy harvesting circuit. The incident RF power is
converted into dc power by the voltage multiplier. The matching network, composed of inductive and
capacitive elements, ensures the maximum power delivery from antenna to voltage multiplier.
The energy storage ensures smooth power delivery to the load, and as a reserve for durations when
external energy is unavailable. Such a design needs to be carefully crafted: increasing the number of
multiplier stages gives higher voltage at the load, and yet reduces the current through the final load
branch. This may result in unacceptable charging delays for the energy storage capacitor. Conversely,
fewer stages of the multiplier will ensure

Environmental Pollution Of The Dandora Municipal Waste...
Introduction to the Dandora Municipal Waste dumping site
Over the last three decades, public health states that there has been a growing global distress that
attributed to environmental pollution, in specific, the global burden disease. This problem is
increasing slowly. According to the World Health Organization about a quarter of the disease facing
mankind today occur due to persistent exposure to environmental pollution. Several of these
environment related diseases are hard to detect and may have been developed as a child and progress
later in adulthood. One of the main problems that cause environmental pollution and degradation in
many cities, and mainly in developing countries is the improper management of solid waste.
Municipal waste dumping site is entitled places for waste disposal. Depending on a city s level of
waste management, waste can be literally dumped, separated for recycling purposes, or simply burnt.
Poor waste management poses an enormous challenge to the health of city residents, especially those
who live near the dump sites. The waste can potentially pollute water, food sources, land, air and
vegetation. Poorly dumping waste can lead to environmental degradation, destruction of the
ecosystem, and risks to the public health.

Samsung announced the note 7 with much fanfare from loyal customers and journalist alike. Samsung
note 7 was released on the 19th of August 2016 to its customers, a couple of weeks later there was
news circulating on the internet it is exploding in charge. Due to this issue airlines and passengers
were advised to refrain from using their note 7 in flight to avoid explosion and possibly plane crash
whilst consumer safety stated that it is working closely with Samsung on the issue and warned the
public to stop using the note 7 (Czarnecki, 2016)
It took Samsung a while to admit there was a problem with is a new product and finally issued a
voluntary recall of the note 7 on the 2nd of September 2016 (Czarnecki, 2016). The replacement Note
7 phones given to people that had returned their unit after it issued a recall was also revealed to had
exploded which led to a second global recall by Samsung. This fiasco was indeed a public relation
nightmare that Samsung handled badly (Sullivan, 2016). It ultimately led to the loss of $19B in its

Go Tell It On The Mountain
Go Tell It on the Mountain is a story than many African Americans can relate too. Author James
Baldwin paints a picture of what the post Civil War era was for former slaves and their families. Many
African Americans moved north in areas such as Harlem to find better job opportunities and to escape
the harsh treatment of the Jim Crow laws in the South. As black families were moving to the North,
many saw this as an opportunity to start over. It was a sentiment of being reborn again. That is why I
believe the Pentecostal church was very attractive to many African Americans. The Pentecostal church
gave the African American community a sense of relief. It was an outlet from the harsh and cruel
treatment that was distributed on a daily basis. The Pentecostal gave the black community hope just
like how Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt. There is a parallel to the Pentecost that the church
would lead people to a better life and after their time on Earth is over. One of the main themes
discussed in the book is silence. Silence was mainly discussed in the section of Gabriel s Prayer .
Gabriel is a preacher in the novel. He was once a very ambitious and wild who felt like he was on top
of the world and nothing could stop him. In this part of the book, his sister, Florence is crying at the
altar. This gave him a flashback to when he was crying on a tree he often sees on a daily basis. He was
waiting for a sign from God to cleanse him of all his sin but hears

A Special Last Night By Diane Sawyer
Most of the humans in the world live on just a couple of dollars a day. In fact, I watched a special last
night where Diane Sawyer exposes the startling working middle class struggle in America. The show
followed several middle class Americans struggling to support their families and trying to make ends
meet. The recent economic struggles have seen the layoff of several employees in companies and even
some in public service. It is, however, significant to realize that since every business and or sector is
different, there must be various criteria used when laying off employees. The general rule is that it
must be justified and fairness considered across the board. You would apply organizational planning,
theories of human motivation, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, because of prioritized staffing, I will reduce the other departments carefully considering the
work done by each department. The focus for layoff would be in certain job positions like secretary or
assistant. Laying off individual police Captain s secretaries might not be a popular decision and could
cause more work for some of the departmental leaders, but that would be the first resource to lose.
That means if there are five secretaries or assistants, I will lay off four of them and leave only one.
Making that position for the entire department and not just one indivdual. I would eliminate the
position of office messenger because most of the communications happen online and most
departments have Wi Fi. Another thought is to offer and early retirement option. Early retirement
could hopefully generate some stimulus, and it may be able to get at least three to four officers to
retire early. Offering early retirement can identify persons willing to take retirement and give them a
retirement package with full benefits (George, 2003). Thereby ensuring federal laws of age
discrimination are not a factor.
Completing the plan takes insight. You must be a realist and deal with the ethical issues that may arise.
It is most certain that in any working environment, especially if you have been there a while, you tend
to build close and trusting relationships with your coworkers. Even as a leader you have those
employees that stand out. It is also

Generalized Anxiety Disorder
Generalized Anxiety Disorder
Research Paper
I choose to research Generalized Anxiety Disorder for my research topic.
This disorder is one of the most arguably common faced encounters clinicians deal with today.
Because of this I choose to focus much of my emphasis on the difficulties one face, that s diagnosed
with GAD and the hard ship of building and maintain a good client relationship. Generalized anxiety
disorder begins at the onset of a worry and or tension that carries on into more severe and debilitating
symptom (American Psychological Association, 1997). These symptoms are triggered by a multitude
of reactions or situation that leads the individual to face uncontrollable panic like attacks. Even when a
person feels the onset of an Anxiety attack it is difficult for them to control it because of the inability
and impairment state it leaves them in.
Some common symptoms of GAD are difficulty concentrating; which leaves the individual incapable
of focusing on things that may seen to be normal to others. Fatigue a feeling of being tired or with out
energy to do daily things, Irritability; which can cause grouchiness and crankiness also the feeling of
wanting to be left alone, GAD also can lead to long periods of restlessness, and at times sleeplessness
(American Psychological Association, 1997)
Many times the source that contributes to the symptoms, that triggers the onset of the anxiety attack
can be hard to identify. Some causing factors can be excessive

Cause And Effect Of Smartphone Technology
Imagine; it is 1989 and the only kind of portable phone in existence is a flip phone, which only the
wealthy can afford. Flash Forward twenty eight years and there are four different brands of
smartphones, with over forty versions all together. There are endless options to transfer information
from one person to another, and millions of applications that can be downloaded. Since the early
2000s, smartphone technology has been rapidly changing at a rate that can not be slowed down. The
successful advance in this technology has done more harm than good. The cause of smartphone
technology become better has had many effects such as; creating antisocial people, more bullying,
people not using natural intelligence, and overall they are taking over people s lives. Smartphones do
not only distract us from interacting with those who are physically with us. They also give people the
need to feel as though they do not need to take part in pro social behavior. With the advance spread of
mobile technology, it is rather easy for individuals to remain in constant contact with their social
networks online. A recent Pew Research survey of adults in the U.S. found that 71% use Facebook at
least occasionally, and 45% of Facebook users check the site several times a day (Wall Street Journal
2017). People are spending too much time maintaining frivolous connections online, and not taking
enough time to pursue deeper real life relationships. When walking into a coffee shop or a restaurant,

No Child Left Behind ( Nclb )
In 1965, then President Johnson signed the Elementary and Secondary Education Act into law. Over
the years it has been repeatedly reauthorized and updated by congress. No Child Left Behind (NCLB)
was first introduced as House Resolution 1 during the 107th Congress in March of 2001. The Act
aimed to ensure that all students regardless of race or socioeconomic status would have the
opportunity for a solid education. The 2002 reauthorization included major bipartisan efforts to expose
achievement gaps between sets of children and hold schools accountable for closing the gaps and
helping all children succeed. In 2002, President George W. Bush signed the Act into law (McGuinn,
2006).
According to the U.S. Department of Education, No Child ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Tasks within this zone are endeavors that a child cannot yet accomplish on his/her own but could with
the assistance of competent adults (Slavin, 2012). NCLB pays a great deal of attention to test scores
and hence mandated that all teachers must be highly qualified by the end of the 2006 school year.
Highly qualified meant that a teacher must meet the license and certification requirements of the state
in which they teach. Slavin wrote that a teacher must also hold at least a bachelor s degree and must
pass state testing criteria and also demonstrate competency in the subject area in order to continue
teaching (Slavin, 2012). Now if a teacher did not meet any of these qualifications by the end of the
2005/2006 school year, they would not be allowed to teach again until these mandatory requirements
were met. It also mandated that all students in a school must be proficient by the 2013/2014 school
year. Each state would determine its own standards of proficiency for the students in its state. If at any
point a school repeatedly produces students who are not proficient in their studies, the students at said
school would have additional assistance programs available to them, such as the ability to attend one
of at least two other schools in the district.
School diversity played a major part and the Act provided unequal support in respect to geographical
location and

Hepatitis B
Page 2 Hepatitis B is a potentially life threatening liver infection caused by the virus HBV. A Hepatitis
B infection could potentially become a chronic disease for some people because they run the risk of
developing liver failure, cirrhosis of the liver or liver cancer if precautions are not taken. Cirrhosis
causes permanent scarring to the liver. Some adults that have become infected with Hepatitis B do
fully recover even if their symptoms are relentless. Symptoms can be mild to more severe and can be
very unpleasant. These symptoms typically appear one to four months after a person has been infected
and this is when symptoms will begin. Symptoms include abdominal pain, fever, joint pain, dark
urine, loss of appetite, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If someone s liver has been severely damaged by the virus, a liver transplant may be an option.
Research on this disease continues and more drugs to treat the infections are being developed. Getting
the Hepatitis B vaccination is a sure way in preventing infection, and taking precautions is important
to follow to keep yourself safe. It is important to understand that a person cannot contract Hepatitis B
from the vaccination, but can surely contract the virus by having unprotected sex. Precautions include
wearing a condom either latex or polyurethane, paying extra special attention to where you would go
if you want to get a tattoo or piercing by making sure they adequately sterilize their equipment. Other
ways to stop the spread of the Hepatitis B are that if a person comes in contact with blood or bodily
fluids, it is very important that they wash their hands thoroughly with soap and water and discard any
type of soiled clothing or items into a bag. Another thing to help prevent the spread of the virus is by
cleaning blood and body fluids off surfaces by using a diluted bleach solution. If a person plans on
traveling to an area that has a high rate of Hepatitis B, they should talk to their doctor about getting
vaccinated which is a series of three to four shots over the course of a six month period. The
consequences of people not taking precautions and steps to keep

  • 2. Air Superiority In The Military Introduction (1/2) Air superiority is the single most important factor in deciding the outcome of a modern conventional war. Military operations on land, sea, or in the air are extremely difficult, if not impossible, for the side that doesn t control the sky. In the words of Field Marshal Bernard L. Montgomery, If we lose the war in the air, we lose the war and we lose it quickly. (supremacy) [introduction] , Main Point 1: Identify and describe a deficiency in a Joint Force Capability, significant risk description, what is the risk for future joint operations?(1) #Air Superiority# Counter air operations are designed to gain control of the air and wrest such control away from an adversary. Air superiority is a condition on the spectrum of air control, which ranges from adversary air supremacy, to air parity, to friendly air supremacy. The air superiority condition is achieved when friendly operations are able to proceed without prohibitive interference from opposing forces. In modern military operations, achieving this level of control of the air is a critical pre condition for success. Air superiority provides freedom from attack, freedom to attack, freedom of action, freedom of access, and freedom of awareness. Importantly, it also precludes adversaries from ... • 3. Violent Video Games Cause Violent Crime The most frequently asked question in recent years is, do violent video games lead to violent crime? Most people would think that the answer is a simple yes or no answer, but it s not. This type of correlation is not all black and white; there is a lot of misconception and misunderstanding about it. In this paper, I will be discussing the history of violent video games. I will include scientific studies done on violent video games. I will include various crime cases involving video games. I will discuss the effects of violent video games. Lastly, I will give possible solutions to prevent violent crime from happening. There is a lot of history when it comes to video games and violent video games, but the earliest violent video games have been around since the 1970s. In 1976, Death Race was the first video game criticized for its violence. The goal of this game was to run over human like creatures known as gremlins that made an unrealistic human screaming sound when struck. Since the 1970s, everything has gone downhill. In the 1980s, beloved games we know today like Pac Man and Super Mario Bros faced criticism for their cartoon violence. This is because of Pac Man killing the ghosts and Mario attacking various enemies to achieve his goal to get to the next level. One of the first graphic violent video games is Mortal Kombat; this game is a one on one fighting game where realistic human characters usually fight to the death. Soon Mortal Kombat was under fire in 1992 for its ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Income taxes are that the government collects from the American people. Income taxes make up the federal government s largest revenue source. Payroll taxes are designated as trust funds. As trust funds, the money collect can only be used for a very specific purpose such as Social Security. Corporate taxes are paid by companies, though a marginal tax rate anywhere from fifteen percent to thirdly five percent depending on how much profit the corporation made. Organizations can establish their goals and objectivities, while involving the employees in the process. By promoting self appraisals for the employees, builds a good rapport between the employees and the supervisor or manager. The employee becomes more familiar with their standards of performance, and will more often than not work harder to exceed their own standards. When a manger provides feedback to the employee about the appraisal in a timely manner, the employee can quickly view his or her shortcomings and begin to improve in the needed areas of work. Feedback must be timely enough to allow the employee to make the necessary adjustments. Another key element for a good appraisal system is for the organization to set objectivities to decide what the organization wants from the employees and have the employee agree with them and also to set timelines for these objectivities to be met. A good appraisal system will also include ways to reward the employee for work performed effectively and productively. This treatment is most often combined with other therapies such as radiation and chemotherapy ( Types of Treatment ). The earliest records of cancer date back to ancient times to an account on the Edwin Smith papyrus, an ancient Egyptian textbook on surgery and medicine. The writer described a woman with several tumors on her breasts along with the doctor s futile attempts at curing her. For their conclusion, the Egyptian writer simply stated that there is no treatment (Bushak). Even though cancer has existed since ancient times, its basic genetic background was not discovered until 1902. Theodor Boveri, a zoologist, found that a specific type of mutated chromosomes could result in cells with an unlimited ability to divide. These types of mutations were likely the result of exposure to what are now known as carcinogens, or cancer causing substances. Carcinogens include pathogens, radiation, chemicals, and numerous other environmental factors. In 1902, even though a more complete understanding of cancer was available, the only available treatment options for patients was the removal of surface tumors. • 19. Credit Score Research Paper 2183 × 3300 Caption A lot of credit card debt can lower your credit rating. Alternate Text Group Your credit score is a complicated mix of factors, such as how much you owe, how timely your payments are, the kind of credit you have and how long you ve had that credit. Rating companies use proprietary formulas to come up with your credit score, which is used to determine how credit worthy you are. Lenders use this to decide whether to loan you money and, if they make the loan, how high your interest rate will be. Paying off your debts can help to raise your credit score and make it easier for you to get new credit, such as a mortgage or a new car loan. Exactly how much paying off a credit card helps you varies, but there is no question that paying off even a single card will help. FICO The Fair Isaac Company is one of the most commonly used sources of credit ratings, a number often referred to as your FICO score. While the company won t reveal exactly how they come up with the number, the company s consumer information page reports that 35 percent of your FICO score is based on whether your payments are made on time, and 30 percent of it is determined by how much money you owe to creditors. Bernice Bobs Her Hair portrays a girl willing to give up her unique character to form a new and attractive personality from the help from those around her which she hopes will make her more mentally attractive. Furthermore, Sandra Cisneros Eleven captures a girl emotionally unsettled who observes in herself that while she turns eleven, she also portrays emotions from her past ages of ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, and one through a dilemma caused by her misunderstanding teacher. Comparably, in Bernice Bobs Her Hair this problem also lies great since the entirety of its story Fitzgerald writes in third person. Third person provides an impeccable description of every situation, however, without shifting to any other point of view, Fitzgerald disadvantages the reader in obtaining a more personal view of one of the main characters. For example, at the time where Bernice is about to cut off her cousin Marjorie s hair it states, She was by the bedside now, very deliberate and calm. She acted swiftly. Bending over she found one of the braids of Marjorie s hair, followed it up with her hand to the point nearest the head, and then holding it a little slack so that the sleeper would feel no pull, she reached down with the shears and severed it. Without the use of first or second person, the reader lacks in attaining Bernice s thoughts leading up to her drastic action and cutting off Marjorie s hair. Overall, through both stories use of one main point of view, reader s lack attaining a different perspective of Fitzgerald s Bernice Bobs Her Hair and Cisneros Eleven. Second, Bernice Bobs Her Hair more effectively uses narration in its story since Fitzgerald uses an omniscient narrative presence so that the reader can get a glimpse of all the characters thoughts and feelings. They apparently remained in Central Asia, and only by the end of the second millennium BCE began to spread over the Iranian plateau. By the second half of the eighth century BCE, Iranian Median and Persian tribes (Mada and Parswa) had already been long established among the original non Iranian speakers of the Zagros mountain ranges of Iranian Kurdestan, according to the records of the Assyrian ruler Shalmaneser III (r. 858 824 BCE). These two solutions created an azeotrope where the two liquids have a constant boiling point throughout the distillation. The method used to distill the 1 propanol was fractional distillation, this involved packed fractionating columns that were attached to a distilling flask, when the hot vapour hit the cold packaging, the Liebig condenser, it was condensed. This was repeated many times so the final solution condensed was most likely pure 1 propanol. This is called refluxing, where the liquid is condensed and returned to liquid. As soon as there wasn t enough 1 propanol the boiling point shot up to 93°C. In this case the solution of water and 1 propanol acted as ideal liquids where the lower boiling point liquid distilled first and then the higher boiling point liquid. There also was a minimum and maximum boiling point observed. This distillation method is quite efficient, this was determined by calculating the percent error for the experiment (shown in the appendix). A 5.34% error is very low, this means that 95% of what is theoretically possible to distill from this mixture was actually collected when performing the experiment. The apparatus used for the distillation involved having the thermometer in a silicone pocket. This is due to the fact that silicone improves thermal conductivity rather than just having the thermometer in the air or in the mixture of water and propanol. Silicone has a thermal conductivity of 0.1 compared to 0.58 of water [4]. The optimal drop rate was at 15 20 drops per minute, if the drop rate was lower the lab would take a long time to complete, which is very inefficient. However, a higher drop rate would increase the possibility of missing the boiling point change. Boiling chips were added to the round bottom flask, their purpose was to ensure the mixture boils smoothly so the solution doesn t get superheated or boil ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some studies have shown that students in schools with a concentration of multiple risk factors (e.g., large schools, large classes, high poverty, inner city location) have less than one chance in two of graduating from high school; furthermore, the economic costs of dropping out have increased as time goes on (Castellano et al. 2001). Shubin proposes that every attribute that makes us human can be traced back to a time that showcases its importance for survival. Every single trait in the human body has been selected for through multiple mechanisms of evolution, natural selection being one of them. This theory is intriguing because not long ago it was unheard of to relate humans to fish, amphibians, reptiles, mammals, and birds. Every highly specialized characteristic such as balance, sight, smell, and more began as an extremely simple mutational advantage. The complexity seems unfathomable to many as to how the human body as been come to be, but everything can be explained logically once scientists take a closer look at other organisms. Selective pressure is constantly promoting the survival of advantages mutations and quickly removing disadvantageous traits. Organisms were not designed to be what they are today but rather they underwent a lengthy experiment of trial and error. The different environmental pressures have lead to a vast expansion of biodiversity, each organism is best suited to fit their own niche. However, given the recent advances in energy efficiency for the circuit components of a sensor (say, diodes that require less forward voltage threshold), and the low power operation modes supported by the device itself (say, sleep mode consuming only millivolt), there is a visible need for revisiting energy harvesting circuit design that can successfully operate a sensor node. Fig. 1 shows the components of our proposed energy harvesting circuit. The incident RF power is converted into dc power by the voltage multiplier. The matching network, composed of inductive and capacitive elements, ensures the maximum power delivery from antenna to voltage multiplier. The energy storage ensures smooth power delivery to the load, and as a reserve for durations when external energy is unavailable. Such a design needs to be carefully crafted: increasing the number of multiplier stages gives higher voltage at the load, and yet reduces the current through the final load branch. This may result in unacceptable charging delays for the energy storage capacitor. • 42. Go Tell It On The Mountain Go Tell It on the Mountain is a story than many African Americans can relate too. Author James Baldwin paints a picture of what the post Civil War era was for former slaves and their families. Many African Americans moved north in areas such as Harlem to find better job opportunities and to escape the harsh treatment of the Jim Crow laws in the South. As black families were moving to the North, many saw this as an opportunity to start over. It was a sentiment of being reborn again. That is why I believe the Pentecostal church was very attractive to many African Americans. The Pentecostal church gave the African American community a sense of relief. It was an outlet from the harsh and cruel treatment that was distributed on a daily basis. The Pentecostal gave the black community hope just like how Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt. There is a parallel to the Pentecost that the church would lead people to a better life and after their time on Earth is over. One of the main themes discussed in the book is silence. Silence was mainly discussed in the section of Gabriel s Prayer . Gabriel is a preacher in the novel. He was once a very ambitious and wild who felt like he was on top of the world and nothing could stop him. In this part of the book, his sister, Florence is crying at the altar. This gave him a flashback to when he was crying on a tree he often sees on a daily basis. He was waiting for a sign from God to cleanse him of all his sin but hears ... • 44. A Special Last Night By Diane Sawyer Most of the humans in the world live on just a couple of dollars a day. In fact, I watched a special last night where Diane Sawyer exposes the startling working middle class struggle in America. The show followed several middle class Americans struggling to support their families and trying to make ends meet. The recent economic struggles have seen the layoff of several employees in companies and even some in public service. It is, however, significant to realize that since every business and or sector is different, there must be various criteria used when laying off employees. The general rule is that it must be justified and fairness considered across the board. You would apply organizational planning, theories of human motivation, ... The focus for layoff would be in certain job positions like secretary or assistant. Laying off individual police Captain s secretaries might not be a popular decision and could cause more work for some of the departmental leaders, but that would be the first resource to lose. That means if there are five secretaries or assistants, I will lay off four of them and leave only one. Making that position for the entire department and not just one indivdual. I would eliminate the position of office messenger because most of the communications happen online and most departments have Wi Fi. Another thought is to offer and early retirement option. Early retirement could hopefully generate some stimulus, and it may be able to get at least three to four officers to retire early. Offering early retirement can identify persons willing to take retirement and give them a retirement package with full benefits (George, 2003). Thereby ensuring federal laws of age discrimination are not a factor. Completing the plan takes insight. You must be a realist and deal with the ethical issues that may arise. • 45. Generalized Anxiety Disorder Generalized Anxiety Disorder Research Paper I choose to research Generalized Anxiety Disorder for my research topic. This disorder is one of the most arguably common faced encounters clinicians deal with today. Because of this I choose to focus much of my emphasis on the difficulties one face, that s diagnosed with GAD and the hard ship of building and maintain a good client relationship. Generalized anxiety disorder begins at the onset of a worry and or tension that carries on into more severe and debilitating symptom (American Psychological Association, 1997). These symptoms are triggered by a multitude of reactions or situation that leads the individual to face uncontrollable panic like attacks. Even when a person feels the onset of an Anxiety attack it is difficult for them to control it because of the inability and impairment state it leaves them in. Some common symptoms of GAD are difficulty concentrating; which leaves the individual incapable of focusing on things that may seen to be normal to others. Fatigue a feeling of being tired or with out energy to do daily things, Irritability; which can cause grouchiness and crankiness also the feeling of wanting to be left alone, GAD also can lead to long periods of restlessness, and at times sleeplessness (American Psychological Association, 1997) Many times the source that contributes to the symptoms, that triggers the onset of the anxiety attack can be hard to identify. Flash Forward twenty eight years and there are four different brands of smartphones, with over forty versions all together. There are endless options to transfer information from one person to another, and millions of applications that can be downloaded. Since the early 2000s, smartphone technology has been rapidly changing at a rate that can not be slowed down. The successful advance in this technology has done more harm than good. The cause of smartphone technology become better has had many effects such as; creating antisocial people, more bullying, people not using natural intelligence, and overall they are taking over people s lives. Smartphones do not only distract us from interacting with those who are physically with us. They also give people the need to feel as though they do not need to take part in pro social behavior. With the advance spread of mobile technology, it is rather easy for individuals to remain in constant contact with their social networks online. A recent Pew Research survey of adults in the U.S. found that 71% use Facebook at least occasionally, and 45% of Facebook users check the site several times a day (Wall Street Journal 2017). Over the years it has been repeatedly reauthorized and updated by congress. No Child Left Behind (NCLB) was first introduced as House Resolution 1 during the 107th Congress in March of 2001. The Act aimed to ensure that all students regardless of race or socioeconomic status would have the opportunity for a solid education. The 2002 reauthorization included major bipartisan efforts to expose achievement gaps between sets of children and hold schools accountable for closing the gaps and helping all children succeed. Tasks within this zone are endeavors that a child cannot yet accomplish on his/her own but could with the assistance of competent adults (Slavin, 2012). NCLB pays a great deal of attention to test scores and hence mandated that all teachers must be highly qualified by the end of the 2006 school year. Highly qualified meant that a teacher must meet the license and certification requirements of the state in which they teach. Slavin wrote that a teacher must also hold at least a bachelor s degree and must pass state testing criteria and also demonstrate competency in the subject area in order to continue teaching (Slavin, 2012). Now if a teacher did not meet any of these qualifications by the end of the 2005/2006 school year, they would not be allowed to teach again until these mandatory requirements were met. It also mandated that all students in a school must be proficient by the 2013/2014 school year. Each state would determine its own standards of proficiency for the students in its state. If at any point a school repeatedly produces students who are not proficient in their studies, the students at said school would have additional assistance programs available to them, such as the ability to attend one of at least two other schools in the district.
