The Jewish Faith And Culture
In the United States of America, there are many different ethnicities and religions, brought together to
form a blended society. One of these groups, Jewish Americans, are unique, as they are both a
religious group, but also a cultural group. Jewish people in America make up a mass majority, being
one of the leading faiths in the country. Knowing and understanding how their religion effects their
everyday life can help one to understand their customs and be respectful. One can learn about these
things be examining and exploring the most relevant aspects of the Jewish faith and culture, and this
can lead to one being able to positively use this knowledge in their careers, especially if one is a
teacher.

Part of what creates that success is the idea of giving back (Klein, 2016). Klein s comment further
supports why Jewish people tend to be very successful.
Currently, according to JPOST.com Staff (2008), Jews are the highest earning religious group in the
United States, with 46 percent of the working population earning a six digit figure every year,
according to a study released this week (JPOST.com Staff, 2008). This shows that they, as a group,
have a great economic standpoint in America.
Political History:
In the United States of America, politics play a huge role in many different cultural groups. However,
for Jewish Americans, their involvement has been more so than other groups. According to Schafer,
(2015), Jewish people play a large role in American politics (p. 317). For example, there are many
Jewish elected officials throughout America. The political history of Jewish people in America is
unique because Jewish American are known as belonging to the Democratic political party in
America. Schafer, (2015), said Jews as a group are not typical in that they are more likely than the
general population to label themselves Democrat (pg. 313). He goes on to state that this has been a
trend for the last 10 presidential elections (Schafer, 2015).
Jewish people were known for being very socially active in political issues in their home countries and
they continued with this when they

Analysis Of The Poem Sandpiper And Sophy On The Son s...
How could, both the narrator in Sandpiper and Sophy in The Son s Veto , evoke feelings of both
sympathy and frustration? DRAFT 4
Manzar
The chaired lady ...
This is one of the first impressions of Sophy that Hardy presents to readers. The word chaired suggests
a sense of weakness, inability and insignificance. These ideas are crucially embedded through Sophy
in The son s veto and the narrator in Sandpiper . The authors do this to emphasise the tragic lives of
the characters and how they are victims of the societies that mould their perception.
To begin with, readers feel sympathy towards Sophy in The Son s Veto as she is constantly mocked by
Randolph, who views her with great contempt, I am ashamed of you! It will ruin me! A miserable
boor! A churl! A clown! Randolf hasn t even met Sam yet and already becomes judgmental and
compares him to a boor and a churl simply because of his lower social status. This authenticates that
Randolph has no concerns for his mother s feelings and is just being exceedingly egoistic and all he
cares about is his status. Hardy might be trying to depict that narcissism is a trait that comes along
with high status. This is quite ironic because his father had no problem with marrying a woman with
lower status. However, the frustration kicks in when Sophy says, Say no more perhaps I am wrong! I
will struggle against it , as she denies the one thing she loves the most, just for her son who almost
resents her. This frustrates the

The Unnatural History Of The Sea
On The Unnatural History of the Sea Callum Roberts set himself the difficult task of cataloguing
evidence that today s oceans are depleted and struggling against overfishing and human influence,
while still remaining optimistic about the future of the world s oceans in his book The Unnatural
History of the Sea. Roberts begins by painting a picture of the oceans as they may have been before
human influence had drastically depleted species and changed ecosystems through fishing. From this
point, he maps out centuries of development in fishing and shows how drastically changed and
depleted the world s oceans are today because of human exploitation. With the explanation of modern
day fishery policy and a strong case against the practice of trawling, Roberts shows how humanity
continues to exploit the ocean as if it were an endless resource. In spite of all this, the author, in the
end, attempts to develop a positive outlook by explaining what can be done to stop the rapid
decimation of fisheries, including reevaluation of fishery regulations and development of marine
reserves. Historical accounts of abundant fisheries can clearly show the phenomenon of shifting
baselines when compared to what we observe in our oceans today. Roberts argues for Pauly s shifting
baseline theory and provides strong evidence supporting its existence. In order to stop historical
amnesia and the attitude that the ocean is an endless resource, we must be able to understand how we
have changed the

Characters Responsible For The Tragedy Of Romeo And Juliet
In the novel Romeo and Juliet multiple people are responsible for the tragedy that occurred. The
numerous choices many characters made ended in the demise of Romeo and Juliet and the tragedy of
their love. Throughout the story many misfortunes occur, but Tybalt, Mercutio and Romeo are the first
characters who negatively affect Romeo and Juliet s relationship. When Tybalt comes to confront
Romeo, Romeo handles things well and the conflict is almost completely resolved until Mercutio butts
in. He begins to taunt Tybalt and his anger gets the best of him. The fight Mercutio starts with Tybalt
results in his and Tybalt s death and Romeos banishment. The death of Romeos best friend causes him
to lash out at Tybalt and kill him. If he had not done this and just contained his anger he would have
never been banished and separated from Juliet. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Friar Laurence and Juliet come up with a plan to reunite the two lovers. Friar Laurence must send a
letter to Romeo to inform him of their plan, but instead of Friar Laurence taking Romeo the letter
himself he sends Friar John to deliver the message. On the way to Romeo, Friar John does not realize
the urgency of the letter and is side tracked by sick people. Due to this, Romeo never receives Friar
Laurence s letter. These choices made by Friar Laurence ultimately end in Romeo and Juliet s Suicide.
If Friar Laurence had taken the letter to Romeo himself the plan may have worked and Romeo and
Juliet s love may have not been a

The Problem Of The Resistant Parent
The Resistant Parent
Most parents struggle with their child having a mental health illness. Many parents struggle with
understanding the disorder, identifying ways to alter the family dynamic while managing his or her
stress. In most cases, the parents are resistant to needing to make changes in their home. There are
many factors to address with dealing with a resistant parent. It is my objective to cover some of those
issues in this post.
Parents are an important factor in the treatment of a child or adolescent. It is important to empower
them through psychoeducation. Most clients are resistant due to lack of knowledge and being marked
with negative stigma of being crazy . The negative stigma for a parent is being marked as a bad parent
due to their child having a mental health illness
It is safe to say that many parents do not believe their children will experience a mental health illness.
Most believes it is a lack of discipline for younger children. Unfortunately, many parents will compare
their childhood, raising to their parenting. This is a different generation and violent times. Sometimes,
parents will have needed to be reminded of the different factors affecting the generation of children. In
most cases, the parenting style we grew up experiencing may not always be effective in parenting this
generation of children. This information needs to be conveyed in a positive manner.

Designer Babies and Fertilization Problems
Endometriosis This condition is only present in women. It occurs when endometrial tissue (the lining
of the uterine which sheds each period), grows on the outside of the uterus and is attached to
reproductive or abdominal organs. This compromises normal functioning of the fallopian tubes
through blockage. Endometrial cells also occasionally secrete substances that may interfere with
sperm and egg interaction therefore preventing fertilization. Polycystic Ovary Symptom (PCOS) This
condition is mainly caused by hormonal imbalance in which women make more androgens than
required. Androgens are a male hormone, produced by females as well. High levels of this hormone
can negatively affect the development and release of eggs during ovulation. A possible theory to the
cause of PCOS is a large amount of insulin in the body. Many women with PCOS have an excess of
insulin in their bodies which then goes towards production of androgen. Sperm production problems
This is the most common cause of infertility in men. It occurs when low numbers of sperm are made
andor the sperm don t work properly. This could be for a number of reasons such as; infections,
varicocele and genetic issues. Infections may swell and or scar and block the passage for sperm. A
varicocele is the swelling of veins that empty the testicle. This prevents normal cooling of the testicle
and leads to reduced sperm count. Gamete intra fallopian transfer This procedure consists of removing
a women s egg then

Theme Of Masculinity In Apur Sansar
This essay discusses the different types of masculinity depicted in Apur Sansar (1959), directed by the
Indian filmmaker Satyajit Ray. These representations are explained by analysing and contrasting
different male characters and their attitudes in the film. In addition to this, the significance of
presentism is a key theme when it comes to reflecting on the conventions of the 1950s, not only in the
West but also in Bengal. Finally, the relation between men and women are explored in order to
achieve a better insight about the topic, highlighting Apu and Aparna s relationship during their
marriage. Before Delhi became the capital of India during the British Raj, Calcutta was the first one
where appointed viceroys ruled India. Consequently, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, he does not show any instance in raising a family. Notwithstanding this aspect, Apu accepted to
marry Aparna out of sympathy. Despite the economic problems, they were happily married during
marital life in which there was no such a thing as female submissiveness or oppression, unlike other
conventional marriages. In terms of presentism, Apu and Aparna s attitudes as spouses would not be
atypical nowadays but would be opposed to the mentality of the fifties regarding the role of the man
and woman. Another example of presentism is Apu s reaction when Aparna dies. He cried, showing
his sensitivity and emotions, which is associated with femininity. Afterwards, he became an
emasculated man who is not capable of showing love to his son. In the 50s, the reaction would be
totally different to get a new wife as Apu s neighbor

Iago Evil
Everyone wonders why some people are evil. How can a person brought into this beautiful world have
so much hate to cause misery to others? Unless a person is evil, they cannot fully understand the
logistics behind their reasons, and no one will probably ever be able to. In William s Shakespeare s
Othello, Iago is the antagonist of the play, and one of the most malicious characters Shakespeare has
ever written about. Throughout the play, Iago is known as honest however, he is able to take
advantage of the innocent, has two different personalities, and is very manipulative. Iago is pure evil
as he ignores the impact he has on society, which causes other people to suffer due to his selfish
characteristics, making evident that he has no compassion. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Iago is known to be loyal and honest however, he even knows that, [he] is not what [he] seems
(1.1.65). Iago has two different personalities, the personality he shows to the other characters in the
play, and the personality that he shows to the audience. There is a huge difference between both these
personalities. The side to himself that he shows to the characters is loyal and honest. However, his true
personality is shown to the audience which is evil, hateful, and mean. Many people believe that Iago is
an honest and loyal man until the end of the play, where his true intentions are revealed. Furthermore,
Iago is the person who gets Cassio drunk, but when he is questioned about it by Othello, Iago would
rather [have his] tongue cut than talk about drunk Cassio, which is very ironic (2.3.200). Both of Iago
s personalities are shown when he talks about Michael Cassio. He gets him into a bad situation and
then tells everyone that he cannot say anything bad about him. This is very ironic because Iago is the
one who keeps telling Cassio to drink another beer. The evil Iago, does not care about hurting people,
he just wants to be the best. This makes Iago to be one of the most evil characters in all of
Shakespeare s plays because he has no limits, and is also able to easily manipulate

Nuclear Contamination Of The Desert Left Us No Choice
We retired early that evening, and slept blissfully. With the pressure we had been under now somewhat
abated, we awoke the next morning rested and refreshed, ready for whatever the day might bring.
Stapleya and Wisceya were eager to see the wonders of Las Vegas. Estelle and Jill had told them
enough to pique their curiosity, although the fur girls insisted it was impossible and refused to believe
the tales. Compared to their home world, I m sure our entire planet seemed impossible, so why they
would balk at one more impossibility, I could not say. We pulled out of the motel parking lot before

Five nations, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States, have
collaborated in recent decades, in the construction of a massive signal monitoring network that spans
much of the world. This network is colloquially known as Echelon, and is capable of intercepting
almost any phone call anywhere in the world. It uses sophisticated voice recognition technologies and
simultaneously monitors untold millions of phone calls. If Echelon is looking for you, and you use a
phone, it will likely find you. We are not certain that Alex has engaged Echelon in his search for us. It
seems, in fact, rather unlikely that he has taken his efforts to that level. However, we do not feel we
can take the chance. The burner is for emergency use only. Even if Echelon is not in use, Alex still
likely has a flag on Julie s phone, and can flag any call she makes or receives. Any number that she
calls or that calls her will receive scrutiny. Refueled, refreshed and with a new clandestine spy widget
in hand, we drove into the city proper and soon arrived at the front entrance to the Venetian. Jill and
Estelle had agreed that they would attempt to find Julie and approach her. Since the rest of us did not
wish to be seen publicly, and we could not sit for hours in the car in the desert heat, the girls and I
would return to our motel to await developments. We had no tool for communications other than to

Women Role in Indian Cinema
| Women
Significant Women Roles in Indian CinemaInnovative women roles in Indian films, especially
mainstream cinema, are few and far between. Some creative directors, working within the mainstream
format, however have given us some meaty characters. Several women significant films were made in
the early days of Indian cinema like Achchyut Kanya, which touched the theme of untouchability.
Bimal Roy made a few films inspired by the novels of Sarat Chatterjee like Biraj Bou , Devdas and
Parineeta. Biraj Bou was a film based on a selfless Indian woman, who endured hardship and pain for
the sake of her husband. Films like Ramer Sumoti, based on a Sarat Chaterjee work, were remarkable
and depicted the love and warmth which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The latest talent on the Kolkata filmmaking scene, Rituparno Ghosh, has women related subjects as
theme in all three of his award winning films Unishe April , Dahan and Asookh and his latest Bariwali
(featuring Kiron Kher). The women characters in the films of Gautam Ghose amp; Buddhadeb
Dasgupta are equally intriguing. In Gautam Ghose s Antarjali Jatra a young bride is forcibly married
off to a dying Brahmin, while marital disharmony was the subject of films like Buddhadeb Dasgupta s
Griha Yuddha and Lal Darja and Aparna Sen s Yugant . Sanat Dasgupta s Janani featuring Rupa
Ganguly was a poignant Bengali film about a woman who was ostracized and labeled a witch, but in
the end sacrificed her life for her son.
Ordinary women characters, rising to extraordinary levels, were witnessed in films like Sushant
Mishra s Aasha (Oriya), Arinbam Shyam Sharma s Imagi Ningtem (Manipuri) and Sanjeev Hazarika s
Meemansxa (Assamese). Aasha dealt with a courageous lady journalist hounded by corrupt
politicians. Meemansxa, dealt with the agony faced by a woman when she moves to court after being

The Presidential Election Picture For Running Mate
As the dates for both the Democrat and Republican National Conventions draw nearer, the 2016
Presidential election picture is starting to become more defined. With Bernie Sanders chances
approaching a mathematic improbability, Hilary Clinton s road to the Democrat nomination is all but
clear. Although the Republican nominee is not as obvious, the field has at least been narrowed down
from seventeen possible candidates to two, the Twitter loving Donald Trump and the optimistic Ted
Cruz. Unfortunately, there is an important variable missing from all of these campaigns, the potential
candidate s choice for running mate. Many times, the Nation throws on their blinders and ignores the
impact of this decision as though there will not be any repercussion if an unsuitable running mate is
chosen. This is evidenced every time a voter casts a ballet in the primaries for a particular candidate
oblivious of who their counterpart will be. What is the purpose of postponing this important decision
until primary elections are almost complete? Shouldn t the announcement of the individual s intent to
run for President include the announcement of the vice presidential candidate as well? Although the
office of vice president is erroneously considered irrelevant or insignificant, the unbiased truth is that
twenty percent of past presidents were former vice presidents who assumed office upon the death or
resignation of their predecessor. This historical evidence emphasizes how important it

Baz Luhrmann s Production of Romeo and Juliet
Baz Luhrmann s Production of Romeo and Juliet
Romeo seems like a passionate, romantic and excitable young man. He seems to like the idea of being
in love, although I would suggest the feelings he has for Juliet begin only as infatuation and grow
throughout the balcony scene.
In the beginning of the scene Romeo is portrayed as determined, wary and possibly a little frightened
as he knocks over furniture and scrambles up the trellis. His eyes are continuously darting around and
you get a sense of desperation because he is panting. When he climbs the trellis in the hope of seeing
Juliet but discovers the nurse instead, his facial expression turns from one of lust and longing, to one

Juliet is a very capable young lady who truly believes she is in love with Romeo; during the scene she

In the beginning of the scene we see Romeo climbing the orchard wall in complete darkness, but when
he enters the swimming pool area the fairy lights illuminate the immediate vicinity, coupled with the
floral trellis this makes the setting quite romantic.
You get a sense of the era because the house is traditional in style, from the authentic continental
windows to the ageing balusters on the balcony. The size of the house, together with the presence of a
swimming pool gives the impression that Juliet comes from a very affluent background.
The costumes seem appropriate for the period; Juliet wears a simple plain white dress, possibly
portraying virginity and virtuosity and Romeo wears the costume of a knight, which could signify
valour and gallantry. In contrast we see the security guard sporting a very modern outfit complete with
baseball cap, earpiece and headset.

Political: The free trade agreement (NAFTA) was created to eliminate trade barriers and supplement

Mobile Phones And Its Effects On The Cell Phone
Almost everyone in today s society owns a mobile phone. Of the people who own cell phones, a vast
majority of them have purchased smartphones. These devices allow a new level of connectedness that
previous cellular phones did not make possible. With smartphones, people can now communicate with
others through a plethora of different communication services and protocols. Each of these
communication methods sends a notification to a smartphone, which results in a buzz and/or flashing
light to alert the user. The idea that a text or call could arrive at any moment has placed some people
on edge. This has led to many people experiencing a phenomenon called phantom vibration syndrome
. Phantom vibration syndrome manifests as imaginary vibrations, sounds, or flashing lights from a
user s mobile phone. People who experience this syndrome may constantly and/or compulsively check
their phones. They often report imagining their phone ringing/vibrating or their notification light
blinking, only to check their phone and find no new messages or calls. Many people who experience
this phenomenon imagine they hear their phone ringing, only to check it and find they that they
mistook a similar sound for their ringtone. These perceived sensations are technically classified as
hallucinations, although most people are not disturbed or bothered by them. Phantom vibration
syndrome has been the subject of different scientific studies. As many as nine out of ten people report

Dewey s Identity
In this journal, I will be characterizing Klaus. I characterized him as being both intelligent and quite
knowledgeable about literature. To begin with, Klaus is quite intelligent and wise. For example, when
the Baudelaires are at the hotel they need to keep hidden, so they decide to go undercover as
concierges. Being as wise as he is, when ever Klaus would be confronted by someone he would
always respond as vaguely as possible to conceal his identity. When Frank or Ernest asked him who he
was he answered with I m a concierge (Snicket 118). This shows that Klaus is a deep thinker and he
thinks before he speaks. He tried to respond as vaguely and non suspiciously as possible. He did this
because depending on which identical twin manager he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I predict that next the Baudelaires will go to look for the sugar bowl, and while they are doing that
they will try to hide and escape the attention of Dewey s death. To begin with, one of the first things
that I predict will happen is that the Baudelaires will hide in the hotel and will try to escape the
attention of Dewey s death. In the first place, the public and visitors in the hotel went crazy after the
death of Dewey, and they are looking for the Baudelaires or any other people who might have been
involved in the death. The hotel was quite chaotic and everyone was talking about who might have
killed him. If they do not decide to hide or run away they will most likely get caught. During all of the
chaos someone shouted, We d better hurry downstairs, before they escape (Snicket 242). This shows
that a mob of people have already started a search party to find the killer. From this it can be inferred
that the Baudelaires might leave the hotel or hide somewhere so they will not get caught. The
Baudelaires were apart of the death of Dewey Denouement, so the hotel guest will most likely find
them sooner or later. In addition, the Baudelaires might hide because Count Olaf has finally found
them in the hotel, and he will want to catch them. If they do not find a place to hide or disguise sooner
or later Count Olaf is bound to find them. Count Olaf is constantly trying to kidnap the Baudelaires,
and is trying to get their family fortune. Now that he knows where they are it can be inferred that he is
definitely going after them. Especially now, the Baudelaires most likely know that Count Olaf is after
them because he knows where they are, so they will most likely hide and try to get away from him.
Furthermore, the Baudelaires might decide to hide or run away because a suspicious man came up to
them and asked if they needed a taxi. This could be a quick getaway from the hotel and the attention
of the murder.

hollered, but he had me round the neck. He hit me agin a agin (Lee 241). Both Mayella and Bob Ewell
make the people in the court believe that Tom is some sort of killer or dangerous man who should be
lynched. Even Scout thought that Tom Robinson s powerful shoulders rippled under his thin shirt (Lee
248). Tom was very built, and that did not help his case. Before Tom even gave his testimony most
people in the court and jury believed he was guilty. Furthermore, The public view of Tom Robinson
also includes that he is an abusive man that takes advantage of woman. Such as when Mayella said I
got somethin to say a I ain t say no more. That nigger yonder took advantage of me (Lee 251). After
she said this, Tom became known as a person who would hurt women in an appalling way. Another
example is when Atticus says Miss Mayella, not to be tedious, you ve testified that the defendant hit
you, grabbed you around the neck, choked you, and took advantage of you (Lee 248). Mayella states
all of these facts in her testimony; making Tom look like a untrustworthy man. One part of her story
states that she went in the house to get him the nickel and turned around an fore she knew it he was on
her . (Lee 241) . Mayella makes the chance of Tom being innocent lower with her lies; Tom becomes a
monster to the public view. On the other hand to some he is as innocent as a mockingbird. These
people know the real Tom Robinson. They belive that Tom is a generous and a hardworking man. A

Victorian Era Entertainment Essay
Freaks of Nature: The unique acts of Victorian entertainment.
When imagining the Victorian Age, it s typical to picture a fancy opera house with gold chandeliers,
lush gardens with big fountains, and women dancing around in big beautiful gowns drinking tea. As
common as these were, it is astonishing to find how many unique and unusual forms of entertainment
also took place in this era. From ghost shows and bull baiting, to illusion booths and freak exhibitions,
the Victorian era was a very enticing, and what some might call extreme time period when it came to
what they considered leisure.
Because of the Industrial Revolution, the expanding middle class had gained more time and money,
and the growth of the railways made travel easier and more efficient. Because of the vast social and
cultural changes, there was a boom in Victorian entertainment, making leisure more standard.
Entertainment has always been used as a way to sort of captivate one s attention, but in an era with
limited technology it is difficult to imagine how far people will go in order to attain this fascination.
So just how different was entertainment in the Victorian era? ... Show more content on

Freak shows were a common attraction consisting of abnormal people who were given true stories that
were often exaggerated or invented. Some of these included an invisible girl, conjoined twins,
midgets, a bearded lady, albinos, painted Indians, and dwarfs, and the elephant man . The thrill of
abnormality had fascinated many people during the Victorian age.
Animal Baiting
Animal baiting also called bull baiting and blood sports was a common practice during this era. An
animal (usually a bull, badger, or bear) would be tied to a stake, while dogs were sent in to attack
resulting in a crowd watching and cheering on the side. Baiting, V. (2017). Victorian Era Bear Baiting

Analysis Of The Prologue Of Ralph Ellison s Invisible Man
In the prologue of Ralph Ellison s Invisible Man, the unnamed narrator says that he is invisible, for he
is not actually seen or rather recognized for his true self but through the imaginations of others minds.
As surreal as his life under this invisibility and, literally, the ground is, the Invisible Man convinces
with vivid details and emphatic diction. But the passage detailing his hallucination seems out of place,
as it has far more ambiguous language and moral. However, his hallucination, the pilgrimage into the
underworld of sound , shouldn t be discredited as merely a drug induced episode, but a reflection of
himself, revealing of his hidden character, one that s likewise ambivalent and confused (Ellison 8).
The dichotomy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
an black won t... Naw, it won t! (Ellison 7). The content of the sermon is omitted by the ellipses, and
the parallelism only seems self contradictory. A casual reader might dismiss this section as one that
has little meaning or relation to the Invisible Man s character since the ambiguous language here has
little resemblance to his clear, decisive voice earlier, and he is, after all, a passive observer within.
Indeed, even the italicization seems to suggest a certain degree of detachment of this story from the
rest. But that would be an oversight the passage is closely connected to the narrator s (hidden) identity.
Among others, the use of dialect, with words like git and naw , grounds this dialogue firmly in the
Invisible Man s ethnic background. The analysis on sound vs. sight (which will be deferred for now)
also supports such connection. Hence, this underworld of sound can be viewed as indicative of the
Invisible Man they are the voices in his head.
The hallucination reveals the narrator s hidden insecurity, in contrast to his projected confidence.
Ambiguity not only of style but of value is predominant in the dream. The old woman says she both
loved and hated her master and even poisoned him in an act of mercy. With that, the lines between
love and hate, good and evil are blurred. In regard to freedom, a central concept in the (African)
American conscious, she says, I done forgot, son. It s all mixed up. First I think it s one thing, then I

How Does Reality Tv Affect American Culture
On cable nowadays, whether you re watching a movie or a TV show, there are about four to five
minutes of commercials. Most commercials were seen on tv consist of new reality TV shows. If not
new, it could date back to the 1940 s. Although, the shows that were airing years ago were much less
indecent. It honestly seems that reality TV continues to go downhill. In this research paper, I will be
talking about the negative effects of reality television on its viewers and how it affects the American
culture of today s society.
People may disagree and say there are positive effects, I realize that. On the contrary, the negative
effects seem to outnumber the positive effects. Reality TV stars are becoming huge role models with

Reality TV is most definitely a reflection on our society today. There are multiple ways it can affect
our daily lives. Whether you re watching episodes of a regular show or an episode of reality TV, today
we feel it is necessary to talk about it with the people we wouldn t normally interact with. Many
people are addicted to watching all types of shows, and the internet just allows people to talk about it
with different fans or peers. We allow these shows to take over much more of our lives. In other
countries, our reality TV shows make us seem ignorant. Most of these shows don t give off a positive
view of America s society. Thus, when other countries see our reality TV shows that are real they are
not having a positive feedback. Seems as if these shows are driving younger people to become obsess
with money and fame. Many people have been one to say they would love to leave their chances of
getting a good education if they could just become a star on a reality television show and make lots of
money. That just shows that it makes young kids believe it s okay to be put onto a television show for
some stupid reason to just make money. Networks should be putting on educational reality television
shows, thus showing other countries that we are not as ignorant as we seem and maybe then reality
shows will not be as bad of an influence on

The term ``case method has come to refer to a wide range of teaching styles and objectives that can be
adopted within the use of case studies for teaching (Dooley and Skinner, 1977). It has been proposed
that the case method can be used to: . gain illustration of particular points, issues or managerial
principles; . provide managers with a neutral situation in which they are free to explore problems
(because they are not their own); . relate theory to practice; . confront the complexities of specific
situations; . develop analysis and synthesis; . develop self analysis, attitudes, confidence,
responsibility; . develop interpersonal skills, communication and listening; and . develop judgement
and wisdom and enliven teaching. The method may gain the student s intellectual and emotional
involvement and assist the long term retention of understanding and bring realism into instructional
settings (Romm and Mahler, 1991; Osigweh, 1989; Smith, 1987; Christensen and Hansen, 1987;
Dooley and Skinner, 1977). The case method is not without its limitations. Cases may be limited in the
extent to which they present the realities of an organization. Yin (1989) comments that a case need not
reflect a complete or accurate rendition of actual events; its purpose is to establish a framework for
discussion among students. Similarly Towl (1969) describing case writing at Harvard Business School

1.6 Literature Review The proposal has been drawn on concepts such as value chain analysis and
approaches to achieve competitive advantages in an organization. It has been stated in researches that
the competitive advantages of an organization are specific to a country and the value chain are a
reflection of its history, its strategy, its approach to implementing its strategy and the underlying
economics of the activities themselves (Porter, 1986, 1985). Since ANZ has its business located in
several countries, value configuration will be a crucial step in analysing the geographical dispersion of
activities (Schmid and Groshe, 2008) . The research on how business reengineering is beneficial while
implementing an ICT solution will help in drawing an outline of how it will proceed (Huo et al, 2010).

Essay On The Paradox Of The Reformation
The Paradox of the Reformation in Ireland: Why it is Essential in Spite of its Failure 1. Introduction
While the Protestant Reformation was a movement that was influenced, and even caused by events
prior to 1517; a domino effect was unleashed when, on October 31, 1517, a young German monk
named Martin Luther nailed his work, The Ninety Five Theses, to the door of All Saints Church in
Wittenberg, Germany. Although Luther had never intended it to do so; his exploit acted as a catalyst
for what was a nearly perfect formula for this reformation to ensue. In the years following that night;
what started out as an intended scholarly objection, led to disputes, and disputes to rebellion, and
eventually, those rebellions into what could be categorized ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Edward VI sought to continue to reform but now he did so in the form of new religious policies. These
attempts were futile, short lived, and overshadowed by Edward s short reign and his half sister Mary s
rise to the throne and actions as queen. On her succession, Roman Catholic worship was reinstated not
only in Ireland but in Great Britain as well. This however did also not last long as Mary passed away
five years after ascending to the throne at which point in time her sister Elizabeth took her place.
Elizabeth immediately reverted to the ways of her late brother and father, as she was Protestant. When
she came to the throne, Elizabeth had the Act of Supremacy and Act of Uniformity sent through
parliament they both passed. The former was an act that her father had passed in order to gain
authority of the church. She had to replace it because it was repealed by her sister Mary while she was
Queen. The latter made attendance at church mandatory and established fines for missing. From that
point forward the Church of Ireland, the Anglican church, was the established church of Ireland; this
irritated much of the population because they were not a part of the privileged minority of the

Discourse And Abortion
Plight of the Abandoned
Discourse is a tool for discovery and our greatest ally in our pursuit of ending child abandonment. In
this essay, I will briefly discuss possible solutions to alleviating this dire situation. Furthermore, I will
be discussing the ways in which child abandonment affects these unwanted children.
The child abandonment dilemma is a plague that affects all societies. Unfortunately, most women are
reluctant to discuss socially taboo topics such as child abandonment and abortion, let alone confess to
having partaken in it themselves. Herein lies our greatest obstacle. A pregnant mother who attempts to
conceal her pregnancy and subsequent childbirth, does not receive the necessary medical attention
which is required to ensure the well being of her newborn infant (6, 1). This results in unsafe or
unsanitary birthing conditions which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition to this, education should be aimed at adults and children alike, regardless of gender. A
study of sexual and reproductive health conducted at schools in Kelantan, Malaysia revealed shocking
statistics that could have perilous implications (5). According to the researcher s findings, 69.96% of
the students were unaware that pregnancy could occur after having unprotected sex only once, and
64.4% indicated that they learn about sexual health from their peers (5). Misinformation and
inadequate information on sexual and reproductive health are catalysts for dire situations such as
unwanted pregnancies and child abandonment.
In summation, child abandonment leads to damaging ramifications for the unwanted child. Awareness
and availability of support systems such as baby hatches, are crucial to prevention. Child
abandonment is a plague on society that not only forsakes infants, but also the adults they will

Managing Challenging Behaviors Within Classroom Management
Managing challenging behaviours in our classroom continues to be as one of the most challenging
problems in education today. Conte (1994, p.308) mentioned, If teachers, administrators, parents, and
students acknowledge that the lack of discipline is a serious concern and interferes with the teaching
learning process, one would think that steps would be taken to remedy the problem. Today s
classrooms are more complicated than in the past. Discipline is now known as classroom behaviour
management where new dimensions to classroom management are used with the inclusion, bilingual
classes, and students with disabilities.
Classroom management is necessary to maintain the positive behaviours and attitudes. A well
managed classroom can provide an amazing learning experience for all the involved students as their
behaviour can always affect this process. Classroom discipline plays a large part in today s educational
system. Many teachers feel powerless when dealing with discipline problems in their classrooms.
Canter (1997) discussed, in the past, only a look from a teacher to the students was enough to manage
and control the classroom. Then, because of the social and political eruptions of the late 60s and early
70s, the respect to any authority was dramatically declined. Therefore, it is important to find a
behaviour management approach that is suitable to the students of this generation.
My Philosophy as mentioned in part 1 is influenced by various behaviours theories.

Myths Of The Mound Builders
Myths of the Mound Builders The first time I heard about the Mound Builders, which was in this
class, these people seemed like a very primitive group. What was so exciting about having the skill of
piling up a bunch of dirt. Then I was able to see some of these mounds and the scale was nothing I had
imagined. These mounds were huge and also contained distinct structural shapes. Tombs, houses, and
religious structures were constructed in or on top of the mounds. What made the edifices even more
amazing was the time period they were built. Constructed all the way back to 3000 B.C., the mounds
rivaled the most advanced engineering techniques in the world. An interesting aspect involved with

They were able to obtain huge assembly of artifacts and precise surveys that are still used to this day.
Another major contributor to the understanding of the Mound Builders was Cyrus Thomas. He was an
entomologist and botanist that was made the head of the Division of Mound Exploration. Thomas
gathered his assistants and set out into the Mississippi Valley to study the earthworks. During this time
the mounds were being destroyed by looters and fought to keep the mounds in good condition. Over
seven years Thomas was able to survey more than two thousand mounds and collect tens of thousands
of artifacts. He then wrote an a work called the Report on the Mound Explorations of the Bureau of
Ethnology. In this report Cyrus was able to explain the diversity and integrity of the Mound Builder
culture. The Native Americans were now able to be viewed as people who had a rich past, not one of
barbarism as thought before. These were people that deserved respect and gratitude for providing such
interesting achievements for mankind. As one can see, the earthworks of the Ohio and Mississippi
valley are critical in the understanding the past. They provide great clues about the migration of the
Ancient people of this land. It is still not understood how the Western World was settled and under
great debate. Any clues that are available should be used and the mounds are a great source. Native

Leo Braudy s Relationship Between War And Masculinity
In today s society men are constantly reminded of what it is to be a man. What divides men and
women are the characteristics they might possess of masculinity and femininity. To be distinguished as
a man with feminine qualities would be considered an insult. In order to avoid such an insult men
oftentimes go to far lengths to achieve societies idealized form of masculinity. Masculinity and its
characteristics have changed throughout our continuously developing society. One dominant feature
that continues to serve a purpose in defining masculinity is violence. To further examine the
connection between violence and masculinity this essay will first examine Leo Braudy s introduction
to his book and will clarify his perception of the word masculinity. ... Show more content on

He argues that traditional notions of masculinity in modern culture in some way or another emphasize
war values and the violence of it. Although masculinity and its meaning varies within each culture and
their social demands, war and violence has greatly affected what is regarded as masculine or feminine.
As explained by Braudy, in past history men who fought in wars were glorified and admired for their
manly attributes. Such men were titled as brave heroes who possessed strength, immense power, and
were valiant. On the frontlines, men were expected to be both physically and mentally ready to take on
and defeat the enemy. In the process of defeating the enemy the prime purpose of war thus became to
kill anyone on the opposing side. But, wars were not only a way to end lives they were also a way of
defining what it was to be a man. As explained by Braudy, the perception of war and the men who
fight them, trickle into the bloodstream of a culture and into the imaginations of individuals (Braudy,
xvii), to create a long lasting image of what an ideal man should be like. This image of an ideal man,
that arose from war and violence, is still relevant today in modern society in terms of defining

Causes Of The Coercive Acts
The Coercive Acts was formed by the British Parliament to punish the Americans in Boston,
Massachusetts, for the destroying the tea of the East India Company. The British needed money so
they taxed the Americans to help them get money for the French and Indian War. This outraged the
colonist because they didn t like being taxed without being represented. The colonist wore Native
Americans attire and dumped the bags of tea into the Boston Harbor. The British viewed the
retaliation of the Americans as disrespectful. The British Parliament passed several laws that angered
Americans, and they believed those rights are unbearable to follow. The Coercive Acts leads to the
American Revolution, and the Americans believe that British Parliament disregarded their rights as
people with natural rights. The first act that was passed by the Parliament was the Boston Port Act. It
was passed in March of 1774, it stopped all shipping into or out of the port of Boston until payment
was received for the tea ruined in the Boston Tea Party and the tax that was due on it ( Intolerable Acts
). The act was to punish those who were involved in the Boston Tea Party. The ports were so heavily
guarded that people could not give feed their horses hay from Charlestown, Massachusetts. The city of
Boston began to suffer economically, because they could not make money from exporting goods. The
king sent an army to make sure the rule was enforced. This showed many Americans that the king is

The Pursuit Of Happiness By Chris Gardner Essay
The Pursuit of Happiness is a movie about a single African American father named Chris Gardner,
who was evicted from his apartment in San Francisco, and him and his son have nowhere to go. Chris
is an intern as a stockbroker unfortunately this position pays no money. These two face many
challenges together as they live in shelters and face the hardships of life as anything and everything
gets thrown their way. However, Chris refuses to give up as he struggles to make a better life for him
and his son. According to Macinois (Macionis, 2017), family violence involves emotional, physical, or

Theme Of Romanticism In My Antonia
When Jim Burden initially reaches Nebraska, his descriptions of nature help the reader understand not
only his personal experiences, but also the Romanticism prevalent in the book, My Antonia. This sets
the reader up for the struggle and conflict between Modernism and Romanticism in the book, which is
a major theme that Willa Cather utilizes in her novel. However, there is more to this Romantic
description that meets the eye. On pages 12 and 13, Jim describes looking at the land while he travels
to his grandparents, a passage which evokes beauty and hints towards philosophical meaning. Through
this passage in the first chapter, it becomes clear that Jim s narration of the nature around him works to
highlight the idea that the land is a heaven that is untouched. Like young Jim, the land is in a blank
slate, which intertwines the land and Jim together. This is furthered through the progression of the
land and Jim, as they progress into godlike beings. Through this progression and balance, the balance
between Modernism and Romanticism is achieved, and the reader better understands the intentions of
Cather, thus leading to a better understanding of the text as a whole. Jim s view of the land, and his
word choice in describing the land, proves that Nebraska is a symbol for heaven. This heavenly state
is important, as it shows that the land is important and highly placed. Jim explicitly states that, unlike
his hometown, Nebraska was not entirely earthly in presence. He says,

Reflection On Clinical Skills Activities Essay
Introduction The last week of classes for NURS1005 were a series of clinical skills activities. These
activities refreshed the student s minds on what they will be doing on placement and how to do it. We
got assessed on three clinical skills; taking and recording vital signs, blood glucose levels and doing a
urine analysis. I ve chosen to reflect on taking vital signs and how I performed them. Reflection is a
very important part of learning from experiences which is essential in nursing. Nursing practises
continue to change and it is easier to go with and to add to that change if you are reflecting on your
practise. This essentially makes nursing practises better for the patients. I have reflected on the process
of how I took the vital signs during my clinical skills activities. I was very nervous but believe I
performed them well due to how I was taught, what I have read and seen and the vital signs signified
how my peer was acting which was healthy and within a normal range. Even though I felt I did them
well, there were improvements that could and have happened since. Most of the improvements are
minor in comparison to the strengths I have but it is important to recognise improvements when
needed so you are giving the best and accurate care. I was aware of these improvements needed and
tried to strengthen them during my clinical placement which helped me learn different ways of doing
processes and also the rationale behind the processes. Value of personal reflection in

As the levels increase, the likelihood of the customer advocating the business s product/service
improves. Levels 3 5 are classified underneath the engaged customer and definitively, these types of
customers actively promote the product/service and increase an organization s opportunities for long
term growth and profit. Most importantly, how do we create engaged customers? The four key
strategic elements to capture engagement are customer value proposition, brand, internal culture
elements, and customer experience. (Alpert Roberts, 2010) The deliverance of a formidable value
proposition and superior customer experience are the two propelling factors in determining customer
engagement. Aligning these strategic elements with the organization s brand and internal culture will
have immense effects on engagement. First and foremost, an organization must retrieve informative
customer insight to develop a distinguishable value proposition. Secondly, through brand advertising,
effectively market the value proposition. Tertiary, with engaged employees within the organization,
delivering upon the promise guaranteed by the value proposition must be adhered to. Lastly, fortify the
cultural foundation to effectively deliver upon promises innate to the value proposition. (Alpert and

Confederate Statues
Introduction:
As you requested, I am submitting this executive summary after going through the task force report
given to Gregory Fenves, the president of the University of Texas at Austin. The report provides
different alternatives regarding controversial Confederate statues on their campus. These options will
help us implement policies on our campus and allow us to avoid any protests.
Statuary Options:
The purpose of this report is to inform Fenves that statues have deeper meaning and they are part of a
history that defines our present. Changing and replacing monuments is disrespectful towards donors,
Texans and soldiers who died in the war. Looking over these sentiments and issues, the Task Force
came up with five options.
The first option was to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lee, Albert Sidney Johnston, and Woodrow Wilson except John Raegan. The benefit for this option is
that John Reagan supported the federal government, renounced secession from the United States and
allowed freed slaves to vote. But, Woodrow Wilson being the president of the United States, removing
his statue might cause controversy and protest.
The final option wanted to relocate all the statues and the advantages would be that the statues were
created as a set and together they will maintain the artistic balance and show greater respect for single
work of art. Some think that honoring them like this isn t right because they were part of a movement
which supported slavery and secession from the US.
Conclusion:
Each of the options comes with its own set of drawbacks; however, it is important to take into account
the students feelings and opinions of our statues. Our campus should use these options to reconsider
what statues we should remove or relocate. It is part of our campus history and we should make the
right decision to choose what represents us. The five options provide great solutions and they should
be applied as soon as

Ancient Romans And The Roman Empire
The Roman Empire was a very intelligent civilization, they were responsible for many astounding
creations. They were very well known because of their outstanding contributions to Architecture, like
many immense buildings, canals, and entertainment centers, and several of them are still standing
today.
We can look around our modern cities and compare today s architecture to that of the ancient Romans.
The Roman civilization is known for its Imperial powers during the long reign in the ancient world.
Some will remember ancient Rome as a barbaric society, because of modern idealization of gladiators
and the Colosseum. However, Rome is no longer the powerful city, instead, what we can see in this
new world is the immense influence of ancient Roman architecture in many of today s structures.
The Romans built many successful structures in their name as they greatly influenced the time in
which they were constructed. Some of the most recognized and appreciated innovations were the
aqueduct, the dome, and the invention of concrete. There are many reasons why the buildings were so
accepted, mainly because of their unique successful techniques, and reliable materials.
To start the Romans were a very developed society. Possibly one of most amazing structures was the
aqueduct. The Romans built aqueducts to bring water to many towns and industries. The city of Rome
had the largest concentration of water pipelines with 11 aqueducts built over five centuries, with a
total length of

Nic Nick Sabin As A Head Football Coach
A coach of any kink is important for any team to run and function in an appropriate manner. They
keep the team in good condition, ready for the next task, and how to have an open mind about
anything that comes their way. Coaches need to be flexible and be able to move things around as
things and people change daily. Coaches are leaders and have the potential to inspire many people
they come in contact with. With the right coach people and teams can get many things accomplished
in a fast and appropriate manner. This is a skill many employers look for.
I have chosen to use Nick Sabin. For those of you who do not know who he is he is the head football
coach for The University of Alabama. They have just won another national championship. I have been
fan since I can remember and when my grandmother passed away I received all her Alabama
memorabilia. He is a respected coach by many people, players, as well as fans. ... Show more content

He has the position of power and uses it but, not to the extent it is too forceful. He gets to know his
team and the families and understands their needs and ambitions. He also is able to to be able to listen,

group discussions. This reinforces teamwork and defuses conflict, they need to be able to withhold
judgment, acknowledge one another s contributions, deal fairly with problems, and display openness.
This gives him the upper hand in coaching on and off the field. That same experience Mr. Sabin
demonstrates on football field many coaches in the office do the same thing every day with their

Best Quarterback
When thinking about the greatest quarterback of all time, someone may think of Peyton Manning or
Joe Montana. While both were exceptional players, one player from the Patriots has been brought up
more frequently as time goes on. This dynasty team from New England has had continued success
over the past 15 years and even had that almost magical season in 2007. With all this success, two
people are the main focus of it, Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. Now, while Bill Belichick does the
work from the sideline, the main focus is on Brady and whether or not he truly is the greatest
quarterback to ever play the game. Some may say that he is a cheater because of deflategate or

Also with Brady still playing he has the ability to cement his name as the greatest and end the
discussion. When a team has a quarterback like Brady who has lead them to 12 out of the last 13
division championships and has never had a losing season in his career, it is very difficult not to call
him the greatest quarterback to play. With all of the records and wins, Tom Brady has a great resume
as the greatest quarterback to play the

Hip Hop And Its Effects On African Society
Hip Hop In Africa
Hip Hop in Africa is used to spread awareness and evoke calls to action on sensitive subjects that
affect the majority of the people in Africa. Hip Hop influences many people in Africa because it is
meaningful and only tends to speak about the positives and negatives of African society.Hip Hop in
Africa is used as a method to spread awareness on HIV/Aids, create a call to action to tell people to
save themselves when tragedies hit, and change the way parents raise their children.
One way that Hip Hop improves African society is that it spreads important messages about family
values. Stating that young people in Senegal lose themselves as a result of parents enforcing negative
things to their kids. The song Mariama by Senegalese rapper Omzo Dollar gives a call to action,
warning people, youth in general, that young people in Senegal lose themselves as a result of parents
enforcing negative things to their kids. It starts off with a young girl, who is in a rush to grow up. She
meets the love of her life and all seem perfect. The love of the girl s life was nice and promised to
protect the girl from abuse. Her parents forced her to betray the man that she genuinely loved. The girl
s parents did not care or put any consideration into account, the girl s feelings. They just wanted their
daughter to marry a wealthy man. The girl and the man she loved slowly began to grow distant, it was
leading to an end. The man gave

How To Write An Essay On The Book Thief
In The Book Thief by Markus Zusak we learn about Death, who is someone you wouldn t expect
Death to be, our storyteller. He tells us about Liesel, her journey. He tells us about all of her losses,
and victories. Most of all he tells us that she is no ordinary person, she is The Book Thief. There are
many ways that she is the book thief, but the most obvious way is she steals books, but another way is
that Sometimes people are beautiful, not in looks, just they way they are. And that is another way she
steals, she steals the way you look at life.
We start to meet her in a train, that is where she experiences loss for one of the first times, she loses
her brother, and then her mother. The only thing left of them is a book, The Gravedigger s
Handbook. She arrives at Himmel Street, Himmel means heaven, which you couldn t really call this
street that. Himmel Street is on the outskirts of Munich, where she meets the Hubermann s. The
Hubermann s consisted of Hans, and Rosa Hubermann. Now Rosa taught her the art of saumensch,

Lifting Weights
English 101
8 May 2014
Lifting
Natural God given talent can only get an athlete so far. At some point they will need to realize that
hard work will take them much further than talent ever could taking them. When an athlete trains
during the off season by lifting weights it helps him or her become physically ready for the season
ahead. Without pre training, showing up on the day of tryouts and hoping to be great and being able to
do well is a horrible idea. A weight lifting program is essential for any athlete to achieve top
performance.
Weight lifting is important for several reasons. First and foremost it prepares an athlete s body to
endure the rigors of the physical sports. Typically athletes will experience an enhanced ability to ...

Lifting weights strengthens bones and tendons. It helps increase muscle volume and muscle
conditioning. It allows an athlete to perform with a higher level of strength and speed. Physically,
athletes whom weight train and are in good condition will also be able to recover faster if and when an
injury occurs. I see this in our setting and it is a proven fact (Asing Interview).
If an athlete sustains an injury, the goal is to strengthen their injured part and also their overall body.
This is why weight training is such an important subject for all sports from the court to the field or
even water sports. Even though someone may have surgery on one arm he or she can still work out on
the other arm and it benefits him or her by having a faster and quicker recovery. Lifting just
strengthens those muscles that were injured so it will make them stronger for the next time they are
used. With an injury lifting can help the rehab by strengthening what is needed. For example, if an
athlete tears the anterior cruciate ligament, ACL, then strengthening the muscles around the knee such
as the quadriceps and hamstrings will help the knee stabilize both before and after surgery, if needed.
Lifting despite an injury can also lead to mental strength because athletes who get injured usually go
into some depression because they cannot participate in what they love. So any little growth in rehab
helps build the self esteem of an athlete because

Comparison Of Chris Kyle And American Sniper
The record shattering, 2,100 yard shot, was made by the legend, Chris Kyle. That shot is the length of
21 whole football fields, with that, everything you can imagine comes into play to prevent you from
killing a deadly enemy. In both the real event and the movie, Chris Kyle, a Navy Seal Sniper,
completed that unbelievable shot. Other than these two big differences, the movie and the real event
are very similar. The main two differences were added events to the movie and changed character
emotions towards events in the movie to emphasize the effects of war. Director Clint Eastwood used
the same characters in the movie, American Sniper, but the director added some events and changed
character s emotions towards some events to emphasize ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The director, Clint Eastwood, included the similarities for a couple of reasons why. The first was to
represent how most soldiers/veterans feel about the war. Eastwood wanted to show that most
soldiers/veterans are very humble about the war, but in Chris Kyle s case, he was not. The other reason
the director included the similarities and differences he did, was to emphasize the effects of the war of
soldiers and the people around them. By changing what he did, and keeping what he did the same,
between the movie and the real event, Clint Eastwood revealed what he believed to be true about war

Of An Former Colored Man By James Weldon Johnson Essay
In James Weldon Johnson s Autobiography of an Ex Colored Man, the is written narrator to be
perceived at face first as an average white male, when in fact he is inherently of colored descent.
Consequently, in regards to society s principle of the one drop rule, the narrator then faces an identity
complex in understanding whether he is black since society has categorized him on the account of his
bloodline, or white because of his external appearance. For at the end of the novel, he makes the
conscious decision to pass as white. Yet in erasing traces of his his Negro descent, this question
whether the narrator s decision violates particular morals in passing as white. Or, whether the narrator
s decision demonstrates that individuals like himself, must recreate themselves out of necessity. In
order to be liberated from societies categorization, and obtain their concept of happiness, that is
beyond the restricted principles from society. For the notion of recreating oneself for the means of
progressing towards a future goal is understood in F.Scotts Fitzgerald s The Great Gatsby . For lowly
Jimmy Gatz is given an opportunity to recreate himself as Jay Gatsby, and does so through concealing
his past identity from society. Yet in effect, this enables Gatsby to become limitless in how he
progresses towards his idealized future. That in which, this paper will combine significant similarities
between the two novels, arguing how the modes of recreation is an essential concept

Grace in A Good Man Is Hard to Find
Grace in A Good Man is Hard to Find In the short story A Good Man is Hard to Find O Conner, tries
to make us understand the meaning of grace. The Misfit and the Grandma are the two main characters
that show us what grace is and how it can be applied to a person s everyday life. In Flannery O Conner
s A Good Man is Hard to Find, the Grandma tries to save her family by convincing them to visit a
place she recommends to keep them away from the Misfit, whom with they later come in contact.
Neither the Grandma nor the Misfit deserves grace but it is given to them anyway.
The Grandma tried to keep her family safe by trying to take a different direction other than Florida
because of The Misfit, who is criminal who escaped from the Federal Pen. She convinces them to go
to East Tennessee instead to visit some of her connections since she grew up there. Here this fellow
that calls himself The Misfit is aloose from the Federal Pen and headed toward Florida and you read
here what it says he did to these people. (Par. 2) She wouldn t feel comfortable by taking her children
in that direction since a criminal was on the loose in the area. Also the Grandma mentions to her son
that he should take the kids somewhere they haven t been before since they had already been to
Florida. You all ought to take them somewhere else for a change so they would see different parts of
the world and be broad. (Par. 4) I figure that the Grandma was just trying to do a mother s job to do

Introductory Physics Personal Statement
I began teaching as a graduate teaching assistant and project assistant at the University of Wisconsin
Madison. As a teaching assistant, I conducted labs, discussion sessions, and some honor sessions for
introductory physics courses in electromagnetism, thermal dynamics, optics, and modern physics. As a
project assistant, my responsibilities included grading homework, discussing it with students, and
prepare some homework solutions in quantum mechanics, quantum field theory, and an introductory
physics course. In teaching physics, my main goal is to have my students actively thinking like
physicists. I believe that the ability to think like a physicist is valuable to everyone, whether physics
graduates, physics majors or non physics majors. And more importantly, the ability can be developed
in physics classes, especially critical thinking and quantitative analysis. To better achieve this goal, I
gear my approaches to different groups of students.
In Physics 208, an introductory physics course taught by Prof. Mark Rzchowski for non physics ...

recapped the lectures and led group discussions to help the students understand the new material and
the connection between the new one and the old ones before solving problems. I also encouraged the
students to discuss the problems in groups, so that they could focus more on how to think and solve
the problems rather than go through the notes to find the right formula. To help them understand the
physics behind the formulas, I pushed them to explain not just what to do, but

  • 2. The Jewish Faith And Culture In the United States of America, there are many different ethnicities and religions, brought together to form a blended society. One of these groups, Jewish Americans, are unique, as they are both a religious group, but also a cultural group. Jewish people in America make up a mass majority, being one of the leading faiths in the country. Knowing and understanding how their religion effects their everyday life can help one to understand their customs and be respectful. One can learn about these things be examining and exploring the most relevant aspects of the Jewish faith and culture, and this can lead to one being able to positively use this knowledge in their careers, especially if one is a teacher. Historical Background Economic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Part of what creates that success is the idea of giving back (Klein, 2016). Klein s comment further supports why Jewish people tend to be very successful. Currently, according to JPOST.com Staff (2008), Jews are the highest earning religious group in the United States, with 46 percent of the working population earning a six digit figure every year, according to a study released this week (JPOST.com Staff, 2008). This shows that they, as a group, have a great economic standpoint in America. Political History: In the United States of America, politics play a huge role in many different cultural groups. However, for Jewish Americans, their involvement has been more so than other groups. According to Schafer, (2015), Jewish people play a large role in American politics (p. 317). For example, there are many Jewish elected officials throughout America. The political history of Jewish people in America is unique because Jewish American are known as belonging to the Democratic political party in America. Schafer, (2015), said Jews as a group are not typical in that they are more likely than the general population to label themselves Democrat (pg. 313). He goes on to state that this has been a trend for the last 10 presidential elections (Schafer, 2015). Jewish people were known for being very socially active in political issues in their home countries and they continued with this when they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Analysis Of The Poem Sandpiper And Sophy On The Son s... How could, both the narrator in Sandpiper and Sophy in The Son s Veto , evoke feelings of both sympathy and frustration? DRAFT 4 Manzar The chaired lady ... This is one of the first impressions of Sophy that Hardy presents to readers. The word chaired suggests a sense of weakness, inability and insignificance. These ideas are crucially embedded through Sophy in The son s veto and the narrator in Sandpiper . The authors do this to emphasise the tragic lives of the characters and how they are victims of the societies that mould their perception. To begin with, readers feel sympathy towards Sophy in The Son s Veto as she is constantly mocked by Randolph, who views her with great contempt, I am ashamed of you! It will ruin me! A miserable boor! A churl! A clown! Randolf hasn t even met Sam yet and already becomes judgmental and compares him to a boor and a churl simply because of his lower social status. This authenticates that Randolph has no concerns for his mother s feelings and is just being exceedingly egoistic and all he cares about is his status. Hardy might be trying to depict that narcissism is a trait that comes along with high status. This is quite ironic because his father had no problem with marrying a woman with lower status. However, the frustration kicks in when Sophy says, Say no more perhaps I am wrong! I will struggle against it , as she denies the one thing she loves the most, just for her son who almost resents her. This frustrates the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Unnatural History Of The Sea On The Unnatural History of the Sea Callum Roberts set himself the difficult task of cataloguing evidence that today s oceans are depleted and struggling against overfishing and human influence, while still remaining optimistic about the future of the world s oceans in his book The Unnatural History of the Sea. Roberts begins by painting a picture of the oceans as they may have been before human influence had drastically depleted species and changed ecosystems through fishing. From this point, he maps out centuries of development in fishing and shows how drastically changed and depleted the world s oceans are today because of human exploitation. With the explanation of modern day fishery policy and a strong case against the practice of trawling, Roberts shows how humanity continues to exploit the ocean as if it were an endless resource. In spite of all this, the author, in the end, attempts to develop a positive outlook by explaining what can be done to stop the rapid decimation of fisheries, including reevaluation of fishery regulations and development of marine reserves. Historical accounts of abundant fisheries can clearly show the phenomenon of shifting baselines when compared to what we observe in our oceans today. Roberts argues for Pauly s shifting baseline theory and provides strong evidence supporting its existence. In order to stop historical amnesia and the attitude that the ocean is an endless resource, we must be able to understand how we have changed the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Characters Responsible For The Tragedy Of Romeo And Juliet In the novel Romeo and Juliet multiple people are responsible for the tragedy that occurred. The numerous choices many characters made ended in the demise of Romeo and Juliet and the tragedy of their love. Throughout the story many misfortunes occur, but Tybalt, Mercutio and Romeo are the first characters who negatively affect Romeo and Juliet s relationship. When Tybalt comes to confront Romeo, Romeo handles things well and the conflict is almost completely resolved until Mercutio butts in. He begins to taunt Tybalt and his anger gets the best of him. The fight Mercutio starts with Tybalt results in his and Tybalt s death and Romeos banishment. The death of Romeos best friend causes him to lash out at Tybalt and kill him. If he had not done this and just contained his anger he would have never been banished and separated from Juliet. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 6. The Problem Of The Resistant Parent The Resistant Parent Most parents struggle with their child having a mental health illness. Many parents struggle with understanding the disorder, identifying ways to alter the family dynamic while managing his or her stress. In most cases, the parents are resistant to needing to make changes in their home. There are many factors to address with dealing with a resistant parent. It is my objective to cover some of those issues in this post. Parents are an important factor in the treatment of a child or adolescent. It is important to empower them through psychoeducation. Most clients are resistant due to lack of knowledge and being marked with negative stigma of being crazy . The negative stigma for a parent is being marked as a bad parent due to their child having a mental health illness It is safe to say that many parents do not believe their children will experience a mental health illness. Most believes it is a lack of discipline for younger children. Unfortunately, many parents will compare their childhood, raising to their parenting. This is a different generation and violent times. Sometimes, parents will have needed to be reminded of the different factors affecting the generation of children. In most cases, the parenting style we grew up experiencing may not always be effective in parenting this generation of children. This information needs to be conveyed in a positive manner. • 7. Designer Babies and Fertilization Problems Endometriosis This condition is only present in women. It occurs when endometrial tissue (the lining of the uterine which sheds each period), grows on the outside of the uterus and is attached to reproductive or abdominal organs. This compromises normal functioning of the fallopian tubes through blockage. Endometrial cells also occasionally secrete substances that may interfere with sperm and egg interaction therefore preventing fertilization. Polycystic Ovary Symptom (PCOS) This condition is mainly caused by hormonal imbalance in which women make more androgens than required. Androgens are a male hormone, produced by females as well. High levels of this hormone can negatively affect the development and release of eggs during ovulation. A possible theory to the cause of PCOS is a large amount of insulin in the body. Many women with PCOS have an excess of insulin in their bodies which then goes towards production of androgen. Sperm production problems This is the most common cause of infertility in men. It occurs when low numbers of sperm are made andor the sperm don t work properly. This could be for a number of reasons such as; infections, varicocele and genetic issues. Infections may swell and or scar and block the passage for sperm. A varicocele is the swelling of veins that empty the testicle. This prevents normal cooling of the testicle and leads to reduced sperm count. Gamete intra fallopian transfer This procedure consists of removing a women s egg then ... • 8. Theme Of Masculinity In Apur Sansar This essay discusses the different types of masculinity depicted in Apur Sansar (1959), directed by the Indian filmmaker Satyajit Ray. These representations are explained by analysing and contrasting different male characters and their attitudes in the film. In addition to this, the significance of presentism is a key theme when it comes to reflecting on the conventions of the 1950s, not only in the West but also in Bengal. Finally, the relation between men and women are explored in order to achieve a better insight about the topic, highlighting Apu and Aparna s relationship during their marriage. Despite the economic problems, they were happily married during marital life in which there was no such a thing as female submissiveness or oppression, unlike other conventional marriages. In terms of presentism, Apu and Aparna s attitudes as spouses would not be atypical nowadays but would be opposed to the mentality of the fifties regarding the role of the man and woman. Another example of presentism is Apu s reaction when Aparna dies. He cried, showing his sensitivity and emotions, which is associated with femininity. Afterwards, he became an emasculated man who is not capable of showing love to his son. In the 50s, the reaction would be totally different to get a new wife as Apu s neighbor ... • 9. Iago Evil Everyone wonders why some people are evil. How can a person brought into this beautiful world have so much hate to cause misery to others? Unless a person is evil, they cannot fully understand the logistics behind their reasons, and no one will probably ever be able to. In William s Shakespeare s Othello, Iago is the antagonist of the play, and one of the most malicious characters Shakespeare has ever written about. Throughout the play, Iago is known as honest however, he is able to take advantage of the innocent, has two different personalities, and is very manipulative. Iago is pure evil as he ignores the impact he has on society, which causes other people to suffer due to his selfish characteristics, making evident that he has no compassion. ... Iago has two different personalities, the personality he shows to the other characters in the play, and the personality that he shows to the audience. There is a huge difference between both these personalities. The side to himself that he shows to the characters is loyal and honest. However, his true personality is shown to the audience which is evil, hateful, and mean. Many people believe that Iago is an honest and loyal man until the end of the play, where his true intentions are revealed. Furthermore, Iago is the person who gets Cassio drunk, but when he is questioned about it by Othello, Iago would rather [have his] tongue cut than talk about drunk Cassio, which is very ironic (2.3.200). Both of Iago s personalities are shown when he talks about Michael Cassio. He gets him into a bad situation and then tells everyone that he cannot say anything bad about him. This is very ironic because Iago is the one who keeps telling Cassio to drink another beer. The evil Iago, does not care about hurting people, he just wants to be the best. Some creative directors, working within the mainstream format, however have given us some meaty characters. Several women significant films were made in the early days of Indian cinema like Achchyut Kanya, which touched the theme of untouchability. Bimal Roy made a few films inspired by the novels of Sarat Chatterjee like Biraj Bou , Devdas and Parineeta. Sanat Dasgupta s Janani featuring Rupa Ganguly was a poignant Bengali film about a woman who was ostracized and labeled a witch, but in the end sacrificed her life for her son. • 12. The Presidential Election Picture For Running Mate As the dates for both the Democrat and Republican National Conventions draw nearer, the 2016 Presidential election picture is starting to become more defined. With Bernie Sanders chances approaching a mathematic improbability, Hilary Clinton s road to the Democrat nomination is all but clear. Although the Republican nominee is not as obvious, the field has at least been narrowed down from seventeen possible candidates to two, the Twitter loving Donald Trump and the optimistic Ted Cruz. Unfortunately, there is an important variable missing from all of these campaigns, the potential candidate s choice for running mate. Many times, the Nation throws on their blinders and ignores the impact of this decision as though there will not be any repercussion if an unsuitable running mate is chosen. This is evidenced every time a voter casts a ballet in the primaries for a particular candidate oblivious of who their counterpart will be. What is the purpose of postponing this important decision until primary elections are almost complete? Shouldn t the announcement of the individual s intent to run for President include the announcement of the vice presidential candidate as well? He seems to like the idea of being in love, although I would suggest the feelings he has for Juliet begin only as infatuation and grow throughout the balcony scene. In the beginning of the scene Romeo is portrayed as determined, wary and possibly a little frightened as he knocks over furniture and scrambles up the trellis. The size of the house, together with the presence of a swimming pool gives the impression that Juliet comes from a very affluent background. The costumes seem appropriate for the period; Juliet wears a simple plain white dress, possibly portraying virginity and virtuosity and Romeo wears the costume of a knight, which could signify valour and gallantry. In contrast we see the security guard sporting a very modern outfit complete with baseball cap, earpiece and headset. The music used

  • 19. Mobile Phones And Its Effects On The Cell Phone Almost everyone in today s society owns a mobile phone. Of the people who own cell phones, a vast majority of them have purchased smartphones. These devices allow a new level of connectedness that previous cellular phones did not make possible. With smartphones, people can now communicate with others through a plethora of different communication services and protocols. Each of these communication methods sends a notification to a smartphone, which results in a buzz and/or flashing light to alert the user. The idea that a text or call could arrive at any moment has placed some people on edge. This has led to many people experiencing a phenomenon called phantom vibration syndrome . Phantom vibration syndrome manifests as imaginary vibrations, sounds, or flashing lights from a user s mobile phone. People who experience this syndrome may constantly and/or compulsively check their phones. They often report imagining their phone ringing/vibrating or their notification light blinking, only to check their phone and find no new messages or calls. Many people who experience this phenomenon imagine they hear their phone ringing, only to check it and find they that they mistook a similar sound for their ringtone. These perceived sensations are technically classified as hallucinations, although most people are not disturbed or bothered by them. Phantom vibration syndrome has been the subject of different scientific studies. As many as nine out of ten people report feeling phantom ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 20. Dewey s Identity In this journal, I will be characterizing Klaus. I characterized him as being both intelligent and quite knowledgeable about literature. To begin with, Klaus is quite intelligent and wise. For example, when the Baudelaires are at the hotel they need to keep hidden, so they decide to go undercover as concierges. Being as wise as he is, when ever Klaus would be confronted by someone he would always respond as vaguely as possible to conceal his identity. When Frank or Ernest asked him who he was he answered with I m a concierge (Snicket 118). This shows that Klaus is a deep thinker and he thinks before he speaks. He tried to respond as vaguely and non suspiciously as possible. He did this because depending on which identical twin manager he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I predict that next the Baudelaires will go to look for the sugar bowl, and while they are doing that they will try to hide and escape the attention of Dewey s death. To begin with, one of the first things that I predict will happen is that the Baudelaires will hide in the hotel and will try to escape the attention of Dewey s death. In the first place, the public and visitors in the hotel went crazy after the death of Dewey, and they are looking for the Baudelaires or any other people who might have been involved in the death. The hotel was quite chaotic and everyone was talking about who might have killed him. If they do not decide to hide or run away they will most likely get caught. During all of the chaos someone shouted, We d better hurry downstairs, before they escape (Snicket 242). This shows that a mob of people have already started a search party to find the killer. From this it can be inferred that the Baudelaires might leave the hotel or hide somewhere so they will not get caught. The Baudelaires were apart of the death of Dewey Denouement, so the hotel guest will most likely find them sooner or later. In addition, the Baudelaires might hide because Count Olaf has finally found them in the hotel, and he will want to catch them. If they do not find a place to hide or disguise sooner or later Count Olaf is bound to find them. Count Olaf is constantly trying to kidnap the Baudelaires, and is trying to get their family fortune. Now that he knows where they are it can be inferred that he is definitely going after them. Especially now, the Baudelaires most likely know that Count Olaf is after them because he knows where they are, so they will most likely hide and try to get away from him. Furthermore, the Baudelaires might decide to hide or run away because a suspicious man came up to them and asked if they needed a taxi. This could be a quick getaway from the hotel and the attention of the murder. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 23. Tom Robinson Character Analysis In To Kill A Mockingbird the main conflict is the Tom Robinson case. Tom Robinson was accused of beating and raping Mayella Violet Ewell. The people of Maycomb see Tom in two different ways. There is the public view of Tom and the private view of him. The public view would include the people of Maycomb who do not know Tom at a personal level, while the private view would be his family, Calpurnia, and the other African Americans in the town of Maycomb. The public see Tom as a dangerous man. For instance in the book it states I seen that black nigger yonder ruttin on my Mayella (Lee 231)! Mayella even said that He got me round the neck, cussin me a sayin dirt I fought and hollered, but he had me round the neck. He hit me agin a agin (Lee 241). Both Mayella and Bob Ewell make the people in the court believe that Tom is some sort of killer or dangerous man who should be lynched. Even Scout thought that Tom Robinson s powerful shoulders rippled under his thin shirt (Lee 248). Tom was very built, and that did not help his case. Before Tom even gave his testimony most people in the court and jury believed he was guilty. Furthermore, The public view of Tom Robinson also includes that he is an abusive man that takes advantage of woman. Such as when Mayella said I got somethin to say a I ain t say no more. That nigger yonder took advantage of me (Lee 251). After she said this, Tom became known as a person who would hurt women in an appalling way. Another example is when Atticus says Miss Mayella, not to be tedious, you ve testified that the defendant hit you, grabbed you around the neck, choked you, and took advantage of you (Lee 248). Mayella states all of these facts in her testimony; making Tom look like a untrustworthy man. One part of her story states that she went in the house to get him the nickel and turned around an fore she knew it he was on her . (Lee 241) . Mayella makes the chance of Tom being innocent lower with her lies; Tom becomes a monster to the public view. On the other hand to some he is as innocent as a mockingbird. When imagining the Victorian Age, it s typical to picture a fancy opera house with gold chandeliers, lush gardens with big fountains, and women dancing around in big beautiful gowns drinking tea. As common as these were, it is astonishing to find how many unique and unusual forms of entertainment also took place in this era. From ghost shows and bull baiting, to illusion booths and freak exhibitions, the Victorian era was a very enticing, and what some might call extreme time period when it came to what they considered leisure. Because of the Industrial Revolution, the expanding middle class had gained more time and money, and the growth of the railways made travel easier and more efficient. Because of the vast social and cultural changes, there was a boom in Victorian entertainment, making leisure more standard. Entertainment has always been used as a way to sort of captivate one s attention, but in an era with limited technology it is difficult to imagine how far people will go in order to attain this fascination. Analysis Of The Prologue Of Ralph Ellison s Invisible Man In the prologue of Ralph Ellison s Invisible Man, the unnamed narrator says that he is invisible, for he is not actually seen or rather recognized for his true self but through the imaginations of others minds. As surreal as his life under this invisibility and, literally, the ground is, the Invisible Man convinces with vivid details and emphatic diction. But the passage detailing his hallucination seems out of place, as it has far more ambiguous language and moral. The dichotomy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... an black won t... Naw, it won t! (Ellison 7). The content of the sermon is omitted by the ellipses, and the parallelism only seems self contradictory. A casual reader might dismiss this section as one that has little meaning or relation to the Invisible Man s character since the ambiguous language here has little resemblance to his clear, decisive voice earlier, and he is, after all, a passive observer within. Indeed, even the italicization seems to suggest a certain degree of detachment of this story from the rest. But that would be an oversight the passage is closely connected to the narrator s (hidden) identity. Among others, the use of dialect, with words like git and naw , grounds this dialogue firmly in the Invisible Man s ethnic background. The analysis on sound vs. sight (which will be deferred for now) also supports such connection. Hence, this underworld of sound can be viewed as indicative of the Invisible Man they are the voices in his head. The hallucination reveals the narrator s hidden insecurity, in contrast to his projected confidence. Ambiguity not only of style but of value is predominant in the dream. The old woman says she both loved and hated her master and even poisoned him in an act of mercy. With that, the lines between love and hate, good and evil are blurred. Conte (1994, p.308) mentioned, If teachers, administrators, parents, and students acknowledge that the lack of discipline is a serious concern and interferes with the teaching learning process, one would think that steps would be taken to remedy the problem. Today s classrooms are more complicated than in the past. Discipline is now known as classroom behaviour management where new dimensions to classroom management are used with the inclusion, bilingual classes, and students with disabilities. Classroom management is necessary to maintain the positive behaviours and attitudes. A well managed classroom can provide an amazing learning experience for all the involved students as their behaviour can always affect this process. Classroom discipline plays a large part in today s educational system. Many teachers feel powerless when dealing with discipline problems in their classrooms. Canter (1997) discussed, in the past, only a look from a teacher to the students was enough to manage and control the classroom. Then, because of the social and political eruptions of the late 60s and early 70s, the respect to any authority was dramatically declined. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He argues that traditional notions of masculinity in modern culture in some way or another emphasize war values and the violence of it. Although masculinity and its meaning varies within each culture and their social demands, war and violence has greatly affected what is regarded as masculine or feminine. As explained by Braudy, in past history men who fought in wars were glorified and admired for their manly attributes. Such men were titled as brave heroes who possessed strength, immense power, and were valiant. On the frontlines, men were expected to be both physically and mentally ready to take on and defeat the enemy. In the process of defeating the enemy the prime purpose of war thus became to kill anyone on the opposing side. But, wars were not only a way to end lives they were also a way of defining what it was to be a man. As explained by Braudy, the perception of war and the men who fight them, trickle into the bloodstream of a culture and into the imaginations of individuals (Braudy, xvii), to create a long lasting image of what an ideal man should be like. The British needed money so they taxed the Americans to help them get money for the French and Indian War. This outraged the colonist because they didn t like being taxed without being represented. The colonist wore Native Americans attire and dumped the bags of tea into the Boston Harbor. The British viewed the retaliation of the Americans as disrespectful. The British Parliament passed several laws that angered Americans, and they believed those rights are unbearable to follow. The Coercive Acts leads to the American Revolution, and the Americans believe that British Parliament disregarded their rights as people with natural rights. The first act that was passed by the Parliament was the Boston Port Act. • 41. Theme Of Romanticism In My Antonia When Jim Burden initially reaches Nebraska, his descriptions of nature help the reader understand not only his personal experiences, but also the Romanticism prevalent in the book, My Antonia. This sets the reader up for the struggle and conflict between Modernism and Romanticism in the book, which is a major theme that Willa Cather utilizes in her novel. However, there is more to this Romantic description that meets the eye. On pages 12 and 13, Jim describes looking at the land while he travels to his grandparents, a passage which evokes beauty and hints towards philosophical meaning. Through this passage in the first chapter, it becomes clear that Jim s narration of the nature around him works to highlight the idea that the land is a heaven that is untouched. Like young Jim, the land is in a blank slate, which intertwines the land and Jim together. This is furthered through the progression of the land and Jim, as they progress into godlike beings. Through this progression and balance, the balance between Modernism and Romanticism is achieved, and the reader better understands the intentions of Cather, thus leading to a better understanding of the text as a whole. Jim s view of the land, and his word choice in describing the land, proves that Nebraska is a symbol for heaven. This heavenly state is important, as it shows that the land is important and highly placed. Jim explicitly states that, unlike his hometown, Nebraska was not entirely earthly in presence. He says, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Reflection On Clinical Skills Activities Essay Introduction The last week of classes for NURS1005 were a series of clinical skills activities. These activities refreshed the student s minds on what they will be doing on placement and how to do it. We got assessed on three clinical skills; taking and recording vital signs, blood glucose levels and doing a urine analysis. I ve chosen to reflect on taking vital signs and how I performed them. Reflection is a very important part of learning from experiences which is essential in nursing. Nursing practises continue to change and it is easier to go with and to add to that change if you are reflecting on your practise. This essentially makes nursing practises better for the patients. I have reflected on the process of how I took the vital signs during my clinical skills activities. I was very nervous but believe I performed them well due to how I was taught, what I have read and seen and the vital signs signified how my peer was acting which was healthy and within a normal range. Even though I felt I did them well, there were improvements that could and have happened since. Most of the improvements are minor in comparison to the strengths I have but it is important to recognise improvements when needed so you are giving the best and accurate care. I was aware of these improvements needed and tried to strengthen them during my clinical placement which helped me learn different ways of doing processes and also the rationale behind the processes. Aligning these strategic elements with the organization s brand and internal culture will have immense effects on engagement. Confederate Statues Introduction: As you requested, I am submitting this executive summary after going through the task force report given to Gregory Fenves, the president of the University of Texas at Austin. The report provides different alternatives regarding controversial Confederate statues on their campus. These options will help us implement policies on our campus and allow us to avoid any protests. Statuary Options: The purpose of this report is to inform Fenves that statues have deeper meaning and they are part of a history that defines our present. Changing and replacing monuments is disrespectful towards donors, Texans and soldiers who died in the war. Looking over these sentiments and issues, the Task Force came up with five options. The first option was to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Lee, Albert Sidney Johnston, and Woodrow Wilson except John Raegan. The benefit for this option is that John Reagan supported the federal government, renounced secession from the United States and allowed freed slaves to vote. But, Woodrow Wilson being the president of the United States, removing his statue might cause controversy and protest. The final option wanted to relocate all the statues and the advantages would be that the statues were created as a set and together they will maintain the artistic balance and show greater respect for single work of art. Some think that honoring them like this isn t right because they were part of a movement which supported slavery and secession from the US. Conclusion: Each of the options comes with its own set of drawbacks; however, it is important to take into account the students feelings and opinions of our statues. Our campus should use these options to reconsider what statues we should remove or relocate. It is part of our campus history and we should make the right decision to choose what represents us. The five options provide great solutions and they should be applied as soon as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Roman civilization is known for its Imperial powers during the long reign in the ancient world. Some will remember ancient Rome as a barbaric society, because of modern idealization of gladiators and the Colosseum. However, Rome is no longer the powerful city, instead, what we can see in this new world is the immense influence of ancient Roman architecture in many of today s structures. The Romans built many successful structures in their name as they greatly influenced the time in which they were constructed. Some of the most recognized and appreciated innovations were the aqueduct, the dome, and the invention of concrete. There are many reasons why the buildings were so accepted, mainly because of their unique successful techniques, and reliable materials. To start the Romans were a very developed society. Lifting weights strengthens bones and tendons. It helps increase muscle volume and muscle conditioning. It allows an athlete to perform with a higher level of strength and speed. Physically, athletes whom weight train and are in good condition will also be able to recover faster if and when an injury occurs. I see this in our setting and it is a proven fact (Asing Interview). If an athlete sustains an injury, the goal is to strengthen their injured part and also their overall body. This is why weight training is such an important subject for all sports from the court to the field or even water sports. Even though someone may have surgery on one arm he or she can still work out on the other arm and it benefits him or her by having a faster and quicker recovery. Lifting just strengthens those muscles that were injured so it will make them stronger for the next time they are used. With an injury lifting can help the rehab by strengthening what is needed. For example, if an athlete tears the anterior cruciate ligament, ACL, then strengthening the muscles around the knee such as the quadriceps and hamstrings will help the knee stabilize both before and after surgery, if needed. Lifting despite an injury can also lead to mental strength because athletes who get injured usually go into some depression because they cannot participate in what they love.
