This document presents a new bridgeless single-ended primary inductance converter (SEPIC) designed for power-factor-correction (PFC) in AC-DC conversion, highlighting its reduced conduction losses and simplified control circuit in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM). The proposed converter improves efficiency by eliminating the need for additional filtering components, while still meeting international harmonic standards. Key design considerations and operational modes are discussed, demonstrating its capability to operate in either step-up or step-down voltage applications.
