The Egyptian, Assyrian, And Persian Empires
From 1567 to 330 B.C. humanity experienced many subsequent development as well as decline in its
civilizations. Among these events emerged three colossal empires that had shaken the world and
forever changed the course of human history. The Egyptian, Assyrian, and Persian Empires have been
instrumental in influencing technology, religion, and ideas throughout the world. Various factors have
contributed to the success and downfall of these giants. Each of the World Powers have similarities as
well as distinctions in its government form and organization, religion, and economy that contributed to
their triumph.
The Egyptian, Assyrian, and Persian Empires possess government structure and classification that is
both unique and comparable. The Egyptian Empire was formed under a divine institution and part of a
universal cosmic order: Kingship. Egypt has a government of absolute monarchy, which allows the
leader of Egypt to have unlimited power along with the idea of Divine Right, a right to rule given
from god. Furthermore, the Egyptians have developed an extraordinary administrative government
organization and procedures: the bureaucracy. At the top of the hierarchy was the Pharaoh who had
absolute authority over the people. Pharaohs are considered gods; by obeying the will of their
pharaohs, subjects believed that they are contributing to the development of a world order. Next to the
pharaoh, the official who held the most authority was the vizier, steward of the whole

Descriptive Essay On The Day In Nursing
It was an unpleasantly early morning in the hospital waiting room. Nurses buzzed around, busy
attending to their patients while a faint beeping sound could be heard in the background. I was starting
my second shift of the day at the hospital, just finishing working a shift in the dark, grimy morgue.
Groggy, I sat down at my desk to begin another four hours of labor. My position was to assure that the
paper work was properly completed and that all patients were attended too. While being a supervising
nurse was a great responsibility, it left time to day dream. In the corner of the room, an old lady was
slouched on a cracked, olive upholstered chair. A man gripped her veiny hand and softly patted her
back. She appeared to suffer from a vigorous cough, which originated deep in her chest. Delicate curls
framed her fragile face as hair was neatly swept to one side. A double string of ivory pearls swooped
around her neck, landing in the lull of her collarbone. Vintage black eyeglasses were diligently
balancing on the bridge of her crinkly nose. The wrinkles that adorned her face were indicative of
many years lived and with each cough, they furrowed. She wore a knitted rose cardigan over what
appeared to be a light blue night gown. It was evident that she had been rushed to the hospital as she
was still wearing her fucia puffy slippers. Every few seconds her diaphragm clenched, causing her
stomach to thrust out and created a high pitched wheeze. The cool exterior air rushed in

House Of Sand And Fog Character Analysis
There are two kinds of people in the world, some who think they are unrivaled, and others who think
they are overpowered. The difference between these two individuals is appearance. One thinks the
appearance they put forth is of prestige, while another thinks their appearance is of unworthiness.
Similarly, in the novel House of Sand and Fog, the characters face internal conflict where they want to
have a certain appearance, yet cannot fully achieve it. After recently separating from her husband and
getting rid of her Alcohol addiction, Kathy is trying her best to return back to normalcy with only the
inherited house she has left. However, after being evicted out of the house for false charges, Kathy

life together anymore. Kathy, who still thinks about why Nick left her often wonders how life would
be different if they were not separated. After getting evicted out of her humble abode, Kathy ponders,
My husband got to miss all this, that s what I kept thinking that he didn t have to be around for any of
this, and I was stuck at the El Rancho motel in San Bruno (Dubus, 34). These thoughts evidently
display that Kathy has still not moven away from her past, as the first person she thinks about right
after being evicted is her ex husband. Nonetheless, when she meets Lester Burdon, she instantly feels
an attraction towards him and feels that life has finally changed. However, their affair is short lived, as
Kathy feels that Lester does not want to fully divorce his wife, and so she tries to let go of him for his
own good. In one particular incident, Kathy is reminded of Lester by the gun he mistakenly left in the
car; In one fluid motion, I put the gas can in and pulled the coiled leather snake out, kept it under my
arm as I unlocked my door, rested it on the seat beside me me, what Lester left behind before we went
into the truck stop bar for our last dance, his sheriffness, his sword, like a gift he d willed me, a piece
of him to carry and remember him by (206). Through Lester s last remaining piece, his gun, Kathy
believes it is a significant reminder for her to stop running to him and take a step back. Although she is
trying to forget about him, it does not last for long as many things remind Kathy of Lester. Throughout
the novel Kathy is desolate and pensive, but not in a positive way. She tries to run away from her
negligent past by wasting away her present, which leads to many other mournful

Raising The Minimum Wage Is A Bad Idea
In announcing his wrongheaded proposal to increase the minimum wage to $9 an hour, President
Obama spoke in lofty terms: In the wealthiest nation on Earth, he said in his State of the Union
address last month, no one who works full time should have to live in poverty.
If the debate proceeds as it has many times in the past, then most Democrats will embrace the
president s message and back the proposal, while most Republicans will oppose it, on the grounds that
higher labor costs will lead to higher unemployment.
But we shouldn t rely on political opinions in this debate. Facts clearly demonstrate that raising the
minimum wage is a bad idea.
The case against raising the minimum wage is straightforward: A higher wage makes it more
expensive for firms to hire workers. How big an effect does this have on the job market? Economists
debate this. But no one argues that increasing the minimum wage increases the number of unemployed
workers who find jobs. In the end, the trade off is clear. People who keep their jobs get more money;
those who lose their jobs, or fail to get new ones, suffer.
In announcing his proposal to increase the minimum wage, the president argued that doing so would
alleviate poverty. The president is certainly correct to turn his attention to the poor, many of whom
have been suffering for years in a tough economy. And it is clearly desirable for households that
engage in full time work not to live in poverty. But increasing the minimum wage would

The Analysis On Ephesians Prefacing The Book The Bible ...
In the ESV study bible, the authors wrote an excerpt on Ephesians prefacing the author, title, date,
background information, and a description of the ancient city of Ephesus. Relating to the author of
Ephesians all scholars believed that Paul wrote the letter, until recent times where many scholars
propose that an imitator or a follower of Paul wrote the letter. The scholars give two reasons for this
theory, the first is the letter s style does not represent Pauline thought, and the second being the
authors unfamiliarity with the recipients. In contrast, some scholars say there is ample proof of Pauline
authorship; the first reason is the letter explicitly claims to be Paul s in Ephesians 1:1 and 3:1, and the
second reason subsists in more analysis of the text and that it is similar to other Pauline texts. The
final argument for Pauline authorship is the forcefulness of the author s speech mentioned in
Ephesians 4:15, and verse 25. In these two verses, the argument that the author is unfamiliar with the
audience stands debunked because the author commands of them and the author addresses the unity
they all possess. Secondly, an important historical component for understanding the context of
Ephesians is to know the date it is written and background information of why Paul wrote the letter.
Scholars suggest that Paul wrote Ephesians in 62 AD when he was under house arrest in Rome, this
conclusion comes from Paul mentioning his imprisonment in Ephesians 3:1, 4:1, and 6:20.

An Organization For Employee Incentives
Short Paper
In any organization implementing employee incentives will only make the business flourish. An
incentive is something that motivates an individual to perform to the best of their ability. Using
incentives to motivate the employees can create a successful business, but it has to be done properly.
In fact, employee incentives relate to positive reinforcements because if an individual gets rewarded
for performing a task efficiently, then they are more likely to repeat that task again. Some people
believe that money is as the only incentive to motivate employees, but that is incorrect. Money can
only motivate employees when a task is simple and does not require conceptual, creative thinking.
(YouTube) Consequently, money does not always influence individuals and may create an even bigger
problem. According to the book, An important principle is that the stronger the incentive intensity, the
stronger the motivation, but also the greater the chance that there will be unintended, undesirable
consequences. In other words, if there is a giant cash reward in play, this will increase motivation of
all employees, which may lead to an unfortunate result because the employees will become stressed
out. Therefore, the more a manager creates employee incentives the more the company will benefit in
the end. Managers have to first start by treating their employees as people and nothing else. In fact,
employee recognition programs create an increased sense of worth and improved

The History Of Ludwig Van Beethoven
The History of Ludwig Van Beethoven One of the world s most fascinating classical German music
composers, Ludwig Van Beethoven was more than just a man playing on the piano. Famous for more
than just writing the piece Für Elise that most of us all know. He composed many songs with a force
that not just every musician has; musical emotion. Each of his pieces captured and held a story about
Beethoven. Did you know Beethoven was deaf? How could a composer, a musician, a musical genius,
lack such an important and valuable sense and still continue to create such beautiful pieces? What was
it like for this musician to have dealt with the struggle of not being able to hear his own art after a
certain point in his life? What are the stories that each one of his pieces portray about his life? What
made Ludwig Van Beethoven the man we all know him as today!? Was he a prodigy directly from the
womb? No, but not too long after his birth his musical journey began. December 16th, 1770 in Bonn,
Germany the musical genius was born and forever known as Ludwig Van Beethoven. Beethoven was
actually the 3rd Ludwig Van Beethoven in his family. The first was his grandfather who was a well
known musician in Bonn and the 2nd Ludwig Van Beethoven was Beethoven s older brother who
suddenly died only six days after his birth. His father, Johann, was an extreme alcoholic and would
often abuse Beethoven which caused him to have suffered a very tragic childhood. When Beethoven
was 4 years old he first

Mobile Phone Exposure And Carcinogenesis Essay
Mobile phone exposure and carcinogenesis
Brain cancer is the most frightening hazard of mobile phone use. The International Agency for
Research on Cancer (IARC) classified RF fields as possibly carcinogenic to humans, in 2002 in spite
of limited evidence from human and animal studies (IARC, 2002).
The relation between mobile phone radiation exposure and cancer are justified. Muscat et al. (2000)
showed that a relationship exists between mobile phone use and meningioma or glioma. A meta
analysis conducted by Swedish researchers and published in the International Journal of Oncology,
pointed out to a significant correlation between long term use of mobile phones and brain tumors
(Hardell et al. 2011). They found that both malignant and benign tumors were linked to the chronic
exposure to cell phone radiation and suggested that mobile phones were not safe for long term use.
In 2011, after taking the opinions of 30 experts from 14 countries, the World Health Organization
(WHO) categorized mobile phone radiation as a potential Group 2B carcinogen and officially advised
consumers to limit their use (IARC, 2011; Baan et al., 2011). This suggests that mobile phone
radiation may have a carcinogenic effect. Recently, Howlader et al. (2013) reported that mobile phone
use raises the risk of brain cancer. Several possible pathways of carcinogenesis have been suggested.
As we have discussed, the plasma membrane may be a target of RF EMW. RF EMW may act on

The Case Of Murphy Vs Brentwood District Council
The fundamental principle with respect to latent damage was already set out by Lord Bridge in a well
known case of Murphy vs Brentwood District Council (1991) 1 AC 398 that if a builder builds a
structure that comprises a latent defect which later causes the injury to person or any damage to other
property, he will be liable in tort. However, if the latent defect just damages the building or system
itself and can be repaired at a cost, then that loss will be purely economic loss and cannot be recovered
in tort. Before the Murphy vs Brentwood case it was thought that one element of a building could be
considered as distinct from another element, so that damage to one part of the structure/element
caused by an unseen defect in another part ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

A Brief Look at Heat Shock Proteins
Heat shock proteins are chaperone proteins with many functions. Some known functions of heat shock
proteins are of assisting the folding of nonnative proteins, stabilizing cellular proteins under stressful
conditions such as heat, and aiding in the degradation of proteins. Hsp90 is a particular heat shock
protein with a specific role. Hsp90 not only assists proteins undergoing stress but it also helps
unstressed cells with intracellular transport and cell signaling. It is a required protein for the activation
of certain growth factor and steroid hormone receptors, protein kinases and other signaling molecules
which are protooncogenic. As Hsp90 stabilizes certain oncogenes in tumor growth, Hsp90 inhibitors
are of interest for investigation for anti cancer drugs as inhibition of Hsp90 may induce apoptosis for
the cancerous cells. The particular structure of this protein gives this protein its identity and ability to
function the way that it does. The structure of Hsp90 will be explored, particularly 1YET with
geldanamycin as a ligand viewed from X ray diffraction.
Hsp90 is a cytoplasmic protein which is globular in structure, being predominantly polar outside and
nonpolar inside. Hsp90 can be activated through the binding with ATP where it has a specific ATP
binding site. It contains two conformational states, an open ATP bound state and a closed ADP bound
state. There are three functional domains in Hsp90. There is the N terminus binding domain where
ATP binding occurs, the

The Consequences Of The Treaty Of Versailles
In 1919, the Allied victors in World War I met at the Paris Peace Conference to set the peace terms for
the defeated Central Powers. The Allies created the peace terms in the hope to create and maintain
world peace. However, the Allies and Central Powers realized that the peace terms stated in the Treaty
of Versailles did not help to maintain world peace. When the Allies created the Treaty they designed it
in a bad way. Rather than specific, the Treaty didn t make much sense because it was wordy. John
Maynard Keynes an English economist attended the Paris Peace Conference and wrote the book The
Economic Consequences of Peace in which he stated his opinion about the Treaty. In Thornstein
Veblen s review of The Economic Consequences of Peace he argues that Keynes withheld information
about the consequences that the Treaty would cause. If Keynes would not have withheld any
information the economic downfall would not have happened. Keynes failed to include the
consequences of the Treaty in his analysis though, and failed to influence the Allies at the Paris Peace
Conference. In Keynes analysis of the Treaty he did not include the consequence that the Bolshevism
would come to an end. At the Paris Peace Conference the Great Powers only agreed to eliminate the
Bolshevism, other than that the Great Powers could not agree on anything. They knew that it would be
difficult to eliminate the Bolshevism in Soviet Russia, but the Great Powers thought it had to be done

Intellectual Property Laws Of Australia Essay
Intellectual property is a broad term that is used to refer to the rights that the owner of an invention or
an artwork enjoys. An example of intellectual property law is the Trade Related Aspect of Intellectual
Property Rights (TRIPs), which gives individual rights such as patent, designs, and trademark.
Intellectual property is contained in the Article 2(viii) of the convention, which led the establishment
of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Literary works, inventions, discoveries,
trademarks, and industrial designs are among the rights that are provided in WIPO. Intellectual
property in Australia has a strong judicial support.
Introduction An effective system of intellectual property is important in facilitating innovation as well
as economic growth within a country and across all its borders (Davidson, Monoti, Wiseman, 2012).
The current global economy is concentrating more in the invention of ideas that are original, other
than in manufacturing of machines. To enhance and protect these ideas, there ought to be effective
intellectual property laws. The government of Australia has prioritized the protection of original ideas
from individuals through copyright, patent, and trademarks among other intelligent property laws,
which give the inventor a temporary period to enjoy the financial benefits of his or her original idea.
The major purposes of intellectual property laws can be contested; therefore, they create areas of

Sexual Reproduction And Mating Systems Essay
Hi all, I just wanted to add information to what has been discussed. In topic 11, we learnt about
sexuality (Bingham, Paul M., and Souza J. 2009). A standout amongst the most intriguing parts of
human life is the manner by which we pick our mates. Animals likewise pick their mates, in some
cases with a lot of consideration. Mating systems are critical to comprehend in light of the fact that
they mirror the consequence of common choice on mate decision, and eventually on systems for
augmenting individual reproductive success. A mating system depicts how guys and females pair
while picking a mate. Males and females vary extraordinarily in the speculation every makes to
reproduce, and may along these lines approach mating with contrasting procedures. At the point when
picking mates, animals develop species regular systems for amplifying their reproductive success this
outcomes in significant diversity qualities among animal species in their mating patterns. In particular,
sexual reproduction frequently includes evolutionary differentiation of males and females. Females
commonly create fundamentally less gametes (eggs) than males and invest heavily in every one. Then
again, males produce numerous gametes (sperm) and put little into every one. These solid contrasts in
gamete investment between the genders prompts reproductive procedures between the genders that,
now and again, struggle. Females may spend more care than males selecting a mate because of the
high cost of their

that contributed to the success of change in Civil Rights legislation were that nonviolent protests as
well as civil disobedience were used to bring about change in the society. The government created
initiatives like the Civil Rights Act of 1968 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. There were many
leaders within the black community that put themselves at risk, and even lost their lives in the name of
freedom and standing up for the equality they wanted to see happen. The movie The Negro Soldier
was a very inspirational film that has changed the attitudes of many. This film was used to try and get
black soldiers to enlist in the army and fight in the war. The film also portrayed blacks in very
professional fields in society, such as lawyers, athletes, and other professions. In other movies in this
time, blacks were portrayed as funny, uneducated characters. After this movie was made, blacks were
perceived as more respectable roles in movies. Also in the movie, women were able to join the war.
With this film progress was surely making its way into the society where equality was becoming more

Nintendo, The Oldest Video Game Company
Consider the situation faced by Nintendo, the oldest video game company in the world. The company
had positioned its line of developing good games for all age stages and strongly opposed to violence
and pornography. In 1985, shortly after the company s introduction of Nintendo Entertainment System
to the United States, Nintendo met its match when Japanese entertainment giant Sony and American
tech behemoth Microsoft entered the field with the PlayStation and Xbox. Despite the new
competition, Nintendo still held strong. However, Sony and Microsoft had more resources to produce
advanced devices. Nintendo released Gamecube in 2001, however, the Xbox and Playstation 2 offered
popular franchises, such as Final Fantasy and Gran Turismo. At end of the year, The Gamecube just
sold 7 million, and Playstation 2 sold 17 million. In 2006, Nintendo sold about 22 million Gamecubes,
Microsoft sold about 25 million Xboxes, and Sony sold 150 million Playstation 2s. Clearly the result
of that match up showed that Nintendo was the last place, as it was outsold by both of the other
companies. Nintendo s share of the market and sales seemed likely to shrink in the round of console.
As this situation, how can Nintendo maintain their quality brand image and regain their lost market
share, given limited funds for advertising and sales promotion?

Apple Ipod And The Ipod
The alarm clock rings and its time to go for a jog and get the morning routine off to a good start. After
my morning walk, I take a shower while listening to my favorite high energy time to wake up music.
The weather channel says it is going to be a rainy morning, so I grab my umbrella and head for the
door. During the car ride, I toggle between the news and my French audio lessons. These events are
done using a little device that seems to be everywhere you look. For the past years we have seen how
Apple has introduced iPhones into the market for their consumers to purchase.

The Bombing On 16th Street Baptist Church Essay
In 1963, a month after Martin Luther King s I have a dream speech rang harmonies of freedom and
equality throughout the United States, Klan members set off dynamite in the sixteenth Baptist Church.
The resulting explosion and compromise in the integrity of the building killed four girls. These girls,
Addie Mae Collins, Cynthia Wesley, Carole Robertson, and Denise McNarr were the victims of this
atrocity. The events that followed furthered the bloodshed. Thousands of black protestors flooded the
streets in protest of the horrific acta that took place in the sixteenth Baptist street church [2]. It was not
until 2001 and 2002 when some of the men responsible for the crimes would be prosecuted and
eventually convicted. Though the intent of the bombing was to instill fear and panic into the black
community, what came about was unity and a call to action. During this call to action, people had
different ideas on how to respond to the events surrounding the bombing on 16th street Baptist church.
The response ranged from marching, protests, and most importantly, music. During the Civil Rights
movement, music allowed artists to express their dissent through a medium in which their message
could reach a plethora of peoples. Music during this time was also akin to the music effect of work
songs sang during slavery as well as songs such as we shall overcome which draws parallels to songs

Alibaba- Corporate Advantage and Competiton
How does Alibaba group create corporate advantage? (Why are the businesses under one roof?) Is this
corporate advantage sustainable?
Is the current degree of competition amongst the business units appropriate? Do you think Jack Ma
should encourage more cooperation? If so how?
The Alibaba group has thrived in the Chinese e commerce sector from its inception in 1998. They
currently account for over 70% of online shopping in China and delivered annual revenues of $636
million in the 12month period ending June 2009 (case p1 2). Alibaba s successes are due to multiple

Ma has created corporate advantage through championing internal competition between subsidiaries,
which although report directly to himself, are run as separate business units under the Alibaba Group.
Ma provides each subsidiary with its own board of directors, operating managers and executive team
to encourage competition (case p.7). Executives are rewarded through business autonomy, in
conjunction employees are incentivised through stock options linked to group performance (case p.9).
The principal way in which Alibaba Group s organisational structure creates corporate advantage is
the flexibility gained from its decentralised nature. Paired with this structure, Alibaba s shared value of
embrace change puts emphasis on innovative and adaptive practice (exhibit 11 case). This notion is
best explained by CFO Joseph Tsai who stated We sacrificed forced synergies in order to quickly
pursue subsidiary opportunities (case p.9). Alipay provides a prime example of the strength of Alibaba
s decentralised structure. Launched in 2004 as part of Taobao, Alipay held consumer s payments until
purchased goods were received, thus eliminating settlement risk. Initially incubated, Alipay became
fundamental to Taobao s growth and soon reached critical mass, this presented opportunities beyond

Age of Disunity. According to Edward H. Judge and John W. Langdon, The fall of China s Han
dynasty in 220 CE resulted in the emergence of three separate kingdoms in the north, south, and west,
none able to defeat the others... By the year 280, China s population, nearly 60 million at the height of

to move to Kaifeng, the capital, where they enjoyed luxury at the expense of political power. In order

Competitive Advantages Of Competitive Advantage Essay
Question 1: Competitive advantages are conditions that permit an organization or nation to deliver a
decent or administration at a lower cost or in a more alluring manner for clients. These conditions
permit the gainful element to produce a bigger number of offers or unrivaled edges than its opposition.
Competitive advantages are ascribed to an assortment of components, including cost structure, mark,
nature of item offerings, dispersion and system, licensed innovation and customer support. Samsung
had settled on the choice to receive design as a wellspring of competitive advantage in the 1990s.
Prior, the company s items had been unsatisfying and undifferentiated. In the mid1990s, the Group
administrator, Kun Hee Lee, started Samsung s change from a low end OEM into a world class
gadgets organization. Honing the company s design aptitudes was a critical part of the activity. Be that
as it may, this required significant changes in culture, procedures, and frameworks inside the
organization. Samsung understood that competitive advantage can be accomplished through the
design innovation. Samsung s voyage toward design greatness began in 1993. That year, Lee
supposedly went by a gadgets store in Los Angeles, USA. He saw, sadly, that the Samsung items in
plain view looked ugly, while the results of Sony and some different organizations looked a great deal
all the more engaging. He discovered too that the business staff at the store were themselves

The Palette Of King Narmer
The Palette of King Narmer Stretching across ten countries and spanning over four thousand miles,
the Nile River became the heart of Egyptian civilization. The lower (northern) Nile overflowed its
banks several months out of the year before the creation of the Aswan High Dam in 1970. When the
floodwaters receded, they left a new layer of rich silt behind, making the surrounding valley and delta
a fertile and desirable habitat. As early as 8000 BCE, the people who inhabited the valley of the world
s longest river became relatively sedentary and in 5000 BCE they adopted the agricultural village life
commonly associated with Neolithic culture. Throughout the Predynastic period, the North African
climate was immensely dry. In order to combat this problem, many villages formed alliances that
worked to control the river s flow. Over time, these small federations of villages conquered and
absorbed other weaker ones. As communities grew into chiefdoms, they began to advance rapidly
toward refined civilization shortly after 3600 BCE. Egypt became a consolidated state at the beginning
the Early Dynastic Period in 3000 BCE. According to legend, following creation, Upper Egypt in the
south and Lower Egypt in the north were both unified under Menes. Originally a powerful ruler from
Upper Egypt, Menes conquered Lower Egypt and became the first ruler to preside over a unified
Egypt. The Palette of Narmer was created in the Early Dynastic Period between 2950 2775 BCE and

Conflicts And Tensions Between The French And Algerian War...
The period between 1830 and 1962 was full of conflicts and tensions between the unstable French and
Algerian government. Conflicts were based on religion, equality, nationalism, politics and terrorism.
With the encouragement of European settlement, privileges and inequality appeared. As the pressure
grew, new nationalistic groups were created, and sometimes they would act as a terrorist organization,
just like the FLN group. Even though the problems were increasing in the French colony, there was
some collaboration that tried to maintain the peace in it. Some laws that were published enhanced the
political power of Algerians in their government, National Assembly in Paris. From the very
beginning of the existence of the French Algeria, it was hard to balance the satisfaction of the Pier

Occupational Therapy Personal Statement
OTCAS Personal Statement
There is an anonymous quote I often encounter which states, Find three hobbies you love: one to make
you money, one to keep you in shape, and one to be creative. I believe that people can have many
hobbies and passions in life, but there are few things that constitute what our purpose is. I feel that
when we can combine our passions into a career that also has a positive impact on humanity, we have
found our purpose.
I am not going to tell you that it has always been my dream to become an occupational therapist. For
most of my school years, I did not know what profession I wanted to pursue. I did know, however, that
I desired to work in healthcare because of my personal experience with my family s injuries/diseases,
as well as my interests in how the body functions and heals. For a while, I was adjudicating between
becoming an occupational therapist or a physical therapist because the two professions are quite
similar. After much contemplation, I realized that my high attention to detail, personality, and my
passions for science, art, and the mind made occupational therapy the career I wanted to strive
towards. When I asked myself what my purpose was, I discerned that I did not only want to ... Show

Ethical Dilemmas In Clinical Research
In this chapter, we primarily discuss about clinical trials and a few sources of publicly available
clinical trial datasets that have been utilized for our experiments.
2.1 Clinical trials
Clinical trials are conducted to add medical knowledge related to treatment diagnosis, preventing
certain diseases or testing new drugs on human volunteers before releasing to the market. In clinical
trials, participants receive specific interventions in the form of drugs, medical products, procedures or
change in the behavior such as diet. Several phases involved in clinical trials tend to generate a lot of
data [2].
ClinicalTrials.gov is designed to benefit community of clinical researchers by expanding access to
clinical trial data. Clinical trial registry launched by clinicaltrials.gov, has data for more than 100,000
clinical studies and has promoted the state of clinical research. As per the instructions of
ClinicalTrials.gov, data providers have to specify outcome measures and timeframe of the clinical
trials. This has helped a growing number of clinical researchers to conduct a several primary and
secondary analyses. The contribution of publicly available clinical trial data will continue to make
significant impact on clinical research enterprise [1]. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

every human being. We must all come to terms with the fact that even if we exhibit similar ethnicity,

Of course that only seems possible if people look to God and not man, despite the condition of their
home environment and genetic makeup. David, the Psalmist, puts it this way, I praise you because I
am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well (Psalm 139:14).
David discovered his unique identity as one who God loved, and not only that, but he confidently
proclaimed his identity as God s wonderful work. What people must consider is that his family life,
friend life, and love life was not a cake walk. Actually, he encountered major hits and these hits
attempted to teach him an alternative narrative, or label him as something different from what God
said he was. He could have easily believed that he was an outcast or a problem, and therefore, he was
not worth love. Saul, his main persecutor, is an example of a relationship that communicated those
things to him. However, instead he chose to find his identity in God. He overcame by the power of
God s love even in the midst of turbulent environments. Truly, this seems to speak to the resiliency of
humankind and how we can overcome incredible circumstances like impoverished upbringings,
dysfunctional home lives, and poor genes, especially when we believe we are unique and beloved by
God. Besides

Risk Analysis Of Risk Analysis And Management
1.
Risk analysis and management
One of the key segments of applying administrative safeguards to ensure or protect the association s
health care records or data is known as risk analysis. It is difficult to set up a successful risk
management program if the association doesn t know about the dangers or risks that exist. Risk
analysis is generally new to medical field. Couple of associations/ organization implemented formal
security hazard/risk assessment before the HIPAA rules publication. This is not enough to prevent the
risks in health care. So, health care has to adapt risk assessment processes similarly like other
industries
Eight steps for risk analysis process
Eight steps for risk analysis process explained by Steve Weil (2004)
1. Boundary definition The organization or association should build up a detailed inventory of all
health care data and data frameworks. This audit can be directed utilizing interviews, examinations,
surveys, or different means. The essential thing in this step is to recognize all the patient particular
medical record data, Medical information systems (both inner and outer), and clients of the data and
health care information system.
2. Threat identification Distinguishing risk will bring about a list of every single potential risk to the
association s medicinal services information systems. The three general sorts of risk are
a. Natural, for example, surges and flames
b. Human, this can be deliberate or accidental
c. Environmental, for

Jesus as a Figure in History: a Wealth of Information for Those Already Informed
Jesus Christ is one of the most recognizable figures in the modern world. And the legacies of few
people have sparked as many wars, built as many nations, and changed as many individual s lives, as
Jesus of Nazareth. Understandably, scholars and spiritualists alike have striven to answer one central
question, who was this Jesus? To some, He is known as the Son of God, who overcame death and sin,
offering salvation through His resurrection for all who place their faith in him. To others, He was
merely a carpenter from the small town of Nazareth, living in the early years of the Common Era. And
trying to figure out much else about Jesus is one of the most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In antiquity, historical thought was not what we would recognize as history today. Those who lived
alongside Jesus, or wrote about Him in contemporary times were not concerned so much with what
was but with what ought to have been. They wrote biographies with some sort of pre conceived
posture of who Jesus was, and molded the story to present that character. This was not seen as
dishonest in ancient times; in fact, it was considered the truest of histories.
But in the age of the Enlightenment, scholars began concerning themselves with the historical validity
of the subjects they studied. This began the first wave of historical Jesus scholarship. At this time,
various scholars became intent on discovering the historical Jesus, and began writing various works,
presented as the life of Jesus. But these writings suffered from an integral flaw, which has infected
historical Jesus scholarship until today. Rather than being works of discovery, they were truly projects.
Powell argues well, in his first chapter on the history of the historical Jesus movement, that a life of
Jesus would typically impose some grand scheme or hypothesis upon the material that allowed
everything to be interpreted in accord with a consistent paradigm... [and] exclude material in the
Gospels that did not fit with this paradigm... (Powell, 12) Powell takes a

Among these events emerged three colossal empires that had shaken the world and forever changed the course of human history. The Egyptian, Assyrian, and Persian Empires have been instrumental in influencing technology, religion, and ideas throughout the world. Various factors have contributed to the success and downfall of these giants. Each of the World Powers have similarities as well as distinctions in its government form and organization, religion, and economy that contributed to their triumph. The Egyptian, Assyrian, and Persian Empires possess government structure and classification that is both unique and comparable. The Egyptian Empire was formed under a divine institution and part of a universal cosmic order: Kingship. Egypt has a government of absolute monarchy, which allows the leader of Egypt to have unlimited power along with the idea of Divine Right, a right to rule given from god. Furthermore, the Egyptians have developed an extraordinary administrative government organization and procedures: the bureaucracy. At the top of the hierarchy was the Pharaoh who had absolute authority over the people. Pharaohs are considered gods; by obeying the will of their pharaohs, subjects believed that they are contributing to the development of a world order. • 5. Descriptive Essay On The Day In Nursing It was an unpleasantly early morning in the hospital waiting room. Nurses buzzed around, busy attending to their patients while a faint beeping sound could be heard in the background. I was starting my second shift of the day at the hospital, just finishing working a shift in the dark, grimy morgue. Groggy, I sat down at my desk to begin another four hours of labor. My position was to assure that the paper work was properly completed and that all patients were attended too. While being a supervising nurse was a great responsibility, it left time to day dream. In the corner of the room, an old lady was slouched on a cracked, olive upholstered chair. A man gripped her veiny hand and softly patted her back. She appeared to suffer from a vigorous cough, which originated deep in her chest. Delicate curls framed her fragile face as hair was neatly swept to one side. A double string of ivory pearls swooped around her neck, landing in the lull of her collarbone. Vintage black eyeglasses were diligently balancing on the bridge of her crinkly nose. The wrinkles that adorned her face were indicative of many years lived and with each cough, they furrowed. She wore a knitted rose cardigan over what appeared to be a light blue night gown. It was evident that she had been rushed to the hospital as she was still wearing her fucia puffy slippers. Every few seconds her diaphragm clenched, causing her stomach to thrust out and created a high pitched wheeze. The cool exterior air rushed in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. House Of Sand And Fog Character Analysis There are two kinds of people in the world, some who think they are unrivaled, and others who think they are overpowered. The difference between these two individuals is appearance. One thinks the appearance they put forth is of prestige, while another thinks their appearance is of unworthiness. Similarly, in the novel House of Sand and Fog, the characters face internal conflict where they want to have a certain appearance, yet cannot fully achieve it. After recently separating from her husband and getting rid of her Alcohol addiction, Kathy is trying her best to return back to normalcy with only the inherited house she has left. Kathy, who still thinks about why Nick left her often wonders how life would be different if they were not separated. After getting evicted out of her humble abode, Kathy ponders, My husband got to miss all this, that s what I kept thinking that he didn t have to be around for any of this, and I was stuck at the El Rancho motel in San Bruno (Dubus, 34). These thoughts evidently display that Kathy has still not moven away from her past, as the first person she thinks about right after being evicted is her ex husband. Nonetheless, when she meets Lester Burdon, she instantly feels an attraction towards him and feels that life has finally changed. However, their affair is short lived, as Kathy feels that Lester does not want to fully divorce his wife, and so she tries to let go of him for his own good. In one particular incident, Kathy is reminded of Lester by the gun he mistakenly left in the car; In one fluid motion, I put the gas can in and pulled the coiled leather snake out, kept it under my arm as I unlocked my door, rested it on the seat beside me me, what Lester left behind before we went into the truck stop bar for our last dance, his sheriffness, his sword, like a gift he d willed me, a piece of him to carry and remember him by (206). Through Lester s last remaining piece, his gun, Kathy believes it is a significant reminder for her to stop running to him and take a step back. Although she is trying to forget about him, it does not last for long as many things remind Kathy of Lester. Throughout the novel Kathy is desolate and pensive, but not in a positive way. • 9. Raising The Minimum Wage Is A Bad Idea In announcing his wrongheaded proposal to increase the minimum wage to $9 an hour, President Obama spoke in lofty terms: In the wealthiest nation on Earth, he said in his State of the Union address last month, no one who works full time should have to live in poverty. If the debate proceeds as it has many times in the past, then most Democrats will embrace the president s message and back the proposal, while most Republicans will oppose it, on the grounds that higher labor costs will lead to higher unemployment. But we shouldn t rely on political opinions in this debate. Facts clearly demonstrate that raising the minimum wage is a bad idea. The case against raising the minimum wage is straightforward: A higher wage makes it more expensive for firms to hire workers. How big an effect does this have on the job market? Economists debate this. But no one argues that increasing the minimum wage increases the number of unemployed workers who find jobs. In the end, the trade off is clear. People who keep their jobs get more money; those who lose their jobs, or fail to get new ones, suffer. In announcing his proposal to increase the minimum wage, the president argued that doing so would alleviate poverty. The president is certainly correct to turn his attention to the poor, many of whom have been suffering for years in a tough economy. And it is clearly desirable for households that engage in full time work not to live in poverty. But increasing the minimum wage would ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. The Analysis On Ephesians Prefacing The Book The Bible ... In the ESV study bible, the authors wrote an excerpt on Ephesians prefacing the author, title, date, background information, and a description of the ancient city of Ephesus. Relating to the author of Ephesians all scholars believed that Paul wrote the letter, until recent times where many scholars propose that an imitator or a follower of Paul wrote the letter. The scholars give two reasons for this theory, the first is the letter s style does not represent Pauline thought, and the second being the authors unfamiliarity with the recipients. In contrast, some scholars say there is ample proof of Pauline authorship; the first reason is the letter explicitly claims to be Paul s in Ephesians 1:1 and 3:1, and the second reason subsists in more analysis of the text and that it is similar to other Pauline texts. The final argument for Pauline authorship is the forcefulness of the author s speech mentioned in Ephesians 4:15, and verse 25. In these two verses, the argument that the author is unfamiliar with the audience stands debunked because the author commands of them and the author addresses the unity they all possess. Secondly, an important historical component for understanding the context of Ephesians is to know the date it is written and background information of why Paul wrote the letter. Scholars suggest that Paul wrote Ephesians in 62 AD when he was under house arrest in Rome, this conclusion comes from Paul mentioning his imprisonment in Ephesians 3:1, 4:1, and 6:20. ... • 12. An Organization For Employee Incentives Short Paper In any organization implementing employee incentives will only make the business flourish. An incentive is something that motivates an individual to perform to the best of their ability. Using incentives to motivate the employees can create a successful business, but it has to be done properly. In fact, employee incentives relate to positive reinforcements because if an individual gets rewarded for performing a task efficiently, then they are more likely to repeat that task again. Some people believe that money is as the only incentive to motivate employees, but that is incorrect. Money can only motivate employees when a task is simple and does not require conceptual, creative thinking. (YouTube) Consequently, money does not always influence individuals and may create an even bigger problem. According to the book, An important principle is that the stronger the incentive intensity, the stronger the motivation, but also the greater the chance that there will be unintended, undesirable consequences. In other words, if there is a giant cash reward in play, this will increase motivation of all employees, which may lead to an unfortunate result because the employees will become stressed out. Therefore, the more a manager creates employee incentives the more the company will benefit in the end. Managers have to first start by treating their employees as people and nothing else. In fact, employee recognition programs create an increased sense of worth and improved ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. Mobile Phone Exposure And Carcinogenesis Essay Mobile phone exposure and carcinogenesis Brain cancer is the most frightening hazard of mobile phone use. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classified RF fields as possibly carcinogenic to humans, in 2002 in spite of limited evidence from human and animal studies (IARC, 2002). The relation between mobile phone radiation exposure and cancer are justified. Muscat et al. (2000) showed that a relationship exists between mobile phone use and meningioma or glioma. A meta analysis conducted by Swedish researchers and published in the International Journal of Oncology, pointed out to a significant correlation between long term use of mobile phones and brain tumors (Hardell et al. 2011). They found that both malignant and benign tumors were linked to the chronic exposure to cell phone radiation and suggested that mobile phones were not safe for long term use. In 2011, after taking the opinions of 30 experts from 14 countries, the World Health Organization (WHO) categorized mobile phone radiation as a potential Group 2B carcinogen and officially advised consumers to limit their use (IARC, 2011; Baan et al., 2011). This suggests that mobile phone radiation may have a carcinogenic effect. Recently, Howlader et al. (2013) reported that mobile phone use raises the risk of brain cancer. Several possible pathways of carcinogenesis have been suggested. As we have discussed, the plasma membrane may be a target of RF EMW. RF EMW may act on various enzymes and ... However, if the latent defect just damages the building or system itself and can be repaired at a cost, then that loss will be purely economic loss and cannot be recovered in tort. Some known functions of heat shock proteins are of assisting the folding of nonnative proteins, stabilizing cellular proteins under stressful conditions such as heat, and aiding in the degradation of proteins. Hsp90 is a particular heat shock protein with a specific role. Hsp90 not only assists proteins undergoing stress but it also helps unstressed cells with intracellular transport and cell signaling. It is a required protein for the activation of certain growth factor and steroid hormone receptors, protein kinases and other signaling molecules which are protooncogenic. As Hsp90 stabilizes certain oncogenes in tumor growth, Hsp90 inhibitors are of interest for investigation for anti cancer drugs as inhibition of Hsp90 may induce apoptosis for the cancerous cells. The particular structure of this protein gives this protein its identity and ability to function the way that it does. The structure of Hsp90 will be explored, particularly 1YET with geldanamycin as a ligand viewed from X ray diffraction. However, the Allies and Central Powers realized that the peace terms stated in the Treaty of Versailles did not help to maintain world peace. When the Allies created the Treaty they designed it in a bad way. Rather than specific, the Treaty didn t make much sense because it was wordy. John Maynard Keynes an English economist attended the Paris Peace Conference and wrote the book The Economic Consequences of Peace in which he stated his opinion about the Treaty. In Thornstein Veblen s review of The Economic Consequences of Peace he argues that Keynes withheld information about the consequences that the Treaty would cause. If Keynes would not have withheld any information the economic downfall would not have happened. Keynes failed to include the consequences of the Treaty in his analysis though, and failed to influence the Allies at the Paris Peace Conference. In Keynes analysis of the Treaty he did not include the consequence that the Bolshevism would come to an end. • 31. The Palette Of King Narmer The Palette of King Narmer Stretching across ten countries and spanning over four thousand miles, the Nile River became the heart of Egyptian civilization. The lower (northern) Nile overflowed its banks several months out of the year before the creation of the Aswan High Dam in 1970. When the floodwaters receded, they left a new layer of rich silt behind, making the surrounding valley and delta a fertile and desirable habitat. As early as 8000 BCE, the people who inhabited the valley of the world s longest river became relatively sedentary and in 5000 BCE they adopted the agricultural village life commonly associated with Neolithic culture. Throughout the Predynastic period, the North African climate was immensely dry. In order to combat this problem, many villages formed alliances that worked to control the river s flow. Over time, these small federations of villages conquered and absorbed other weaker ones. As communities grew into chiefdoms, they began to advance rapidly toward refined civilization shortly after 3600 BCE. I am not going to tell you that it has always been my dream to become an occupational therapist. For most of my school years, I did not know what profession I wanted to pursue. I did know, however, that I desired to work in healthcare because of my personal experience with my family s injuries/diseases, as well as my interests in how the body functions and heals. For a while, I was adjudicating between becoming an occupational therapist or a physical therapist because the two professions are quite similar. After much contemplation, I realized that my high attention to detail, personality, and my passions for science, art, and the mind made occupational therapy the career I wanted to strive towards. When I asked myself what my purpose was, I discerned that I did not only want to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Being the youngest out of my four siblings, I spent much of my youth watching their children. My creativity once again interplayed in creating activities to keep them entertained. One of my nieces was born with complications and required medical attention until she was strong enough to go home. She then got diagnosed with strabismus when she was about four years old. She eventually had surgery, and I helped her do interactive activities to aid in adjusting to her vision. I thoroughly enjoyed coming up with different activities and doing them with ... • 34. Ethical Dilemmas In Clinical Research In this chapter, we primarily discuss about clinical trials and a few sources of publicly available clinical trial datasets that have been utilized for our experiments. 2.1 Clinical trials Clinical trials are conducted to add medical knowledge related to treatment diagnosis, preventing certain diseases or testing new drugs on human volunteers before releasing to the market. In clinical trials, participants receive specific interventions in the form of drugs, medical products, procedures or change in the behavior such as diet. Several phases involved in clinical trials tend to generate a lot of data [2]. ClinicalTrials.gov is designed to benefit community of clinical researchers by expanding access to clinical trial data. Clinical trial registry launched by clinicaltrials.gov, has data for more than 100,000 clinical studies and has promoted the state of clinical research. As per the instructions of ClinicalTrials.gov, data providers have to specify outcome measures and timeframe of the clinical trials. This has helped a growing number of clinical researchers to conduct a several primary and secondary analyses. The contribution of publicly available clinical trial data will continue to make significant impact on clinical research enterprise [1]. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 35. Identity In Joanna Gaines s The Magnolia Story Joanna Gaines, the creative and super talented co star behind one of America s favorite home remodeling shows, Fixer Upper, shares in her book, The Magnolia Story, her childhood struggle with identity while growing up as a bi racial child. She states, I finally believed it was actually a beautiful thing to be unique and to be different (Gaines, 2016). The battle for identity is a real facet of life for every human being. We must all come to terms with the fact that even if we exhibit similar ethnicity, personality, or intelligence, there is still a real set apartness we all possess. As the textbook mentions, there are countless things, such as individual differences in characteristics, influences, developmental outcomes that impact ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Of course that only seems possible if people look to God and not man, despite the condition of their home environment and genetic makeup. David, the Psalmist, puts it this way, I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well (Psalm 139:14). David discovered his unique identity as one who God loved, and not only that, but he confidently proclaimed his identity as God s wonderful work. What people must consider is that his family life, friend life, and love life was not a cake walk. Actually, he encountered major hits and these hits attempted to teach him an alternative narrative, or label him as something different from what God said he was. He could have easily believed that he was an outcast or a problem, and therefore, he was not worth love. Saul, his main persecutor, is an example of a relationship that communicated those things to him. However, instead he chose to find his identity in God. He overcame by the power of God s love even in the midst of turbulent environments. Truly, this seems to speak to the resiliency of humankind and how we can overcome incredible circumstances like impoverished upbringings, dysfunctional home lives, and poor genes, especially when we believe we are unique and beloved by God. • 36. Risk Analysis Of Risk Analysis And Management 1. Risk analysis and management One of the key segments of applying administrative safeguards to ensure or protect the association s health care records or data is known as risk analysis. It is difficult to set up a successful risk management program if the association doesn t know about the dangers or risks that exist. Risk analysis is generally new to medical field. Couple of associations/ organization implemented formal security hazard/risk assessment before the HIPAA rules publication. This is not enough to prevent the risks in health care. So, health care has to adapt risk assessment processes similarly like other industries Eight steps for risk analysis process Eight steps for risk analysis process explained by Steve Weil (2004) 1. Boundary definition The organization or association should build up a detailed inventory of all health care data and data frameworks. This audit can be directed utilizing interviews, examinations, surveys, or different means. The essential thing in this step is to recognize all the patient particular medical record data, Medical information systems (both inner and outer), and clients of the data and health care information system. 2. Threat identification Distinguishing risk will bring about a list of every single potential risk to the association s medicinal services information systems. The three general sorts of risk are a. Natural, for example, surges and flames b. Human, this can be deliberate or accidental c. Environmental, for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. The Weight Of One Of The World s Most Dominant Religions Jesus as a Figure in History: a Wealth of Information for Those Already Informed Jesus Christ is one of the most recognizable figures in the modern world. And the legacies of few people have sparked as many wars, built as many nations, and changed as many individual s lives, as Jesus of Nazareth. Understandably, scholars and spiritualists alike have striven to answer one central question, who was this Jesus? To some, He is known as the Son of God, who overcame death and sin, offering salvation through His resurrection for all who place their faith in him. To others, He was merely a carpenter from the small town of Nazareth, living in the early years of the Common Era. And trying to figure out much else about Jesus is one of the most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In antiquity, historical thought was not what we would recognize as history today. Those who lived alongside Jesus, or wrote about Him in contemporary times were not concerned so much with what was but with what ought to have been. They wrote biographies with some sort of pre conceived posture of who Jesus was, and molded the story to present that character. This was not seen as dishonest in ancient times; in fact, it was considered the truest of histories. But in the age of the Enlightenment, scholars began concerning themselves with the historical validity of the subjects they studied. This began the first wave of historical Jesus scholarship. At this time, various scholars became intent on discovering the historical Jesus, and began writing various works, presented as the life of Jesus. But these writings suffered from an integral flaw, which has infected historical Jesus scholarship until today. Rather than being works of discovery, they were truly projects. Powell argues well, in his first chapter on the history of the historical Jesus movement, that a life of Jesus would typically impose some grand scheme or hypothesis upon the material that allowed everything to be interpreted in accord with a consistent paradigm... [and] exclude material in the Gospels that did not fit with this paradigm... (Powell, 12) Powell takes a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
