Abstract Twitter has become one of the most important communication channels with its ability
providing the most up to date and newsworthy information. Considering wide use of twitter as the
source of information, reaching an interesting tweet for user among a bunch of tweets is
challenging. A huge amount of tweets sent per day by hundred millions of users, information
overload is inevitable. For extracting information in large volume of tweets, Named Entity
Recognition (NER), methods on formal texts. However, many applications in Information Retrieval
(IR) and Natural Language Processing(NLP) suffer severely from the noisy and short nature of
tweets. In this paper, we propose a novel framework for tweet segmentation in a batch mode,
called HybridSeg by splitting tweets into meaningful segments, the semantic or context
information is well preserved and easily extracted by the downstream applications. HybridSeg
finds the optimal segmentation of a tweet by maximizing the sum of the stickiness scores of its
candidate segments. The stickiness score considers the probability of a segment being a phrase in
English (i.e., global context) and the probability of a segment being a phrase within the batch of
tweets (i.e., local context). For the latter, we propose and evaluate two models to derive local
context by considering the linguistic features and term dependency in a batch of tweets,

Many students at Kansas State University have a problem with having to hunt for a parking spot
every time they arrive on campus. Buying a permit every year does not guarantee you a parking
spot; it is more of a hunting permit. It does not seem to be fair that the university keeps taking
away parking spots. Some of these spots were taken away in order to better the university with a
new water treatment plant, but as the number of enrolled students is on the rise, the number of
open parking spots continues to exponentially fall. Another large complaint among KSU students is

orderly fashion, it begins to be seen in a much more easily understood manner. The first step in
this process is to gain a grasp on the basic main structure of the plexus, and then gradually build
on that foundation. The basic organization is split into five areas. These are the roots, trunks,
divisions, cords, and terminal branches. The five roots originate from spinal nerves C5, C6, C7,

We know inspiration often comes from personal connections. We encourage our chapters to assist
local organizations that hold special meaning for them.
For example, members of our chapter at the University of Mississippi host an annual campus wide
event to provide meals to children desperate for food.

Kappas are also encouraged to support the Kappa Kappa Gamma
Foundation, which benefits our members in a variety of ways. When unexpected events happen
from natural disasters to life threatening diseases our members can turn to Kappa for financial
support through our
Rose McGill Aid program. Whether it s scholarships or programs that develop leadership skills on
an educational and professional level, Kappa is committed to enriching the lives of our members.
In the end, Kappa is about people. We believe in personal development and helping others when
they are in need. A partnership between Austin
Peay and Kappa will provide an opportunity for us to demonstrate our shared commitment to
strengthening the Middle Tennessee region. Where do we go from here?
