Fourth Ward School Analysis
Within historic Virginia City resides the Fourth Ward School, a building constructed in 1874. When it
was built, Virginia City was booming with a population of approximately twenty two thousand people.
Virginia City at the time wanted to show off some of its pride as a city with a new four story school.
As the school today is so very old and has a history, people running the museum have to balance
keeping the place funded and staying historically true. Today, the museum has lost much of its
historical authenticity and has taken on more of a museum s role, rather than a historical building role.
However, that does not diminish the education potential the Fourth Ward School still has.
The School itself closed down in 1936, and it was not until ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This comes from the fact that the Fourth Ward School has undergone massive reconstruction since its
desertion in 1936. That does not take away from the fact that the school looks to be authentic, like it
was just preserved. This adds to its efficiency to educate as few museums can also claim to be a
historical building and show history visually. Even if the school is entirely re created, with the vast
sum of knowledge on the school, we can recreate it masterfully so that everyone can still learn and
enjoy being in a historical building that is the last of its kind. The Fourth Ward School blends the
needs of historic preservation well with the needs of a modern museum. It is likely that as time goes
on, the needs of the museum will outweigh the needs of historical

Differences Between Different Organisational Structures...
Introduction
It is needless to say that the ultimate success of an organisation is heavily dependent on the
performance of the people in the organisations. However, it is seen that different organisations share
different cultures and behavioral pattern among the people in the organisation. In that case, the
organisations behavior and culture can be differentiated from each others in terms of the behavior,
ethics and the organisational hierarchy etc (Robbins and Coulter, 2005). In this assignment, the
organisational structure, peoples behavior and other dimensions of the organisations in terms of the
behavioral pattern, values and the styles of the people and managers in the organisations have been
addressed choosing some organisations to show the scenario.

There are some types of the organisational structures such as tall, flat, hierarchal and etc. In addition to
that, the control of an organisation can be centralized or delegated. However, different types of the
organisational structures suits different organisations that are made for doing different kind of jobs
(Robbins and Coulter, 2005). In this case, tall and flat organisational structures are chosen for
contrasting the organisational structures along with example.

Tissue Aging Research Paper
Among the diseases and disorders associated with advancing age, one of the most debilitating is the
loss of normal cardiac function leading to heart failure. Heart failure affects approximately 1% of
individuals over 50 and over 5% of individuals over 75. With the ongoing steep rise in the proportion
of elderly individuals within our population (Schocken et al., 2008), age related heart failure is
becoming increasingly prevalent.
Most age related heart failure occurs in the setting of normal systolic function and is called diastolic
heart failure, in contrast to systolic heart failure (Aurigemma, 2006). Although progress has been

by exposure to a young circulatory environment. These experiments reveal that the cardiac

cardiac hypertrophy. These data suggest that at least one pathologic component of age related diastolic

Chinese Culture In Amy Tan s Rules Of The Game
In Amy Tans Rules of the Game a first generation adolescent becomes fascinated with the game of
chess and uses its rules as a strategy for life while growing up and away from her Chinese culture.
This short story illustrates the struggle of growing up is especially difficult when in a culture different
from ones parents.
When Narrator Waverly Jong first introduces herself at the young age of seven. Waverly lives in China
Town, San Francisco with her immigrant parents and two older brothers. She is a very smart, curious
and obedient daughter. The author indirectly shows the reader during the first supermarket scene when
Waverly is introduced to the art of invisible strength . Waverly first begged her mother for candy but
after practicing this art form and silently ignoring the candies, her mother rewards her by purchasing
them. This value of silence is a form of strength and dignity in the Chinese Culture. Waverly obeys her
mother that day and soon learns that it can be used as a tool for success in the game of chess.
According to David Kelly in Critical Essay on Rules of the Game , invisible strength is presented as a
magical equation that gives young Waverly the wisdom and grace to rise to national prominence in the
chess world within a few short years of first taking up the game. Waverly becomes quite good at the
game. She states By my ninth birthday, I was a national chess champion , and was even featured in
Life Magazine. While gaining all the success,

The Boy In The Striped Pajamas Text Response
Looking over this picture it makes me think of how badly the Jews were treated and how bad they
wanted to escape. Jews had been beaten, neglected, and starved. They were taken away from their
families and some even killed in front of their loved ones. They would not even stay at one place for
very long, they would travel from camp to camp because of the war. It is terrible how they could take
someone because they were a Jew and not even know anything about them. It is not that the Jew did
anything wrong it is simply just because they are Jews.
Secondly, when I look at this picture it makes me think of the movie we watched, The Boy in The
Striped Pajamas and the book that we are reading Night. The person to the left of the picture is
wearing striped clothing, just as the boy was in the movie. Therefore, it is like this man was once
inside one of the concentration camps. In addition, this man appears to be hanging on a barbed wire
fence. It is as if he was trying to escape.
Knowing that in the movie the only thing separation the boy in the striped pajamas from the outside
world was the barbed wire fence. The photo makes me think of how miserable everyone inside these
camps were. They want so badly to escape that they kill themselves or do something that they know
the Nazis would not accept just so they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Pardoner s Prologue And Tale Analysis
The Pardoner s Prologue and tale was written by Geoffrey Chaucer, they were part of his stories The
Canterbury Tale . The tales are a collection of 24 stories told by the pilgrims on their way to
Canterbury. While we have only read two The Pardoner s Prologue and Tale , and the Wife of Bath
Prologue and Tale we were able to see what type of stories he was writing. In the Pardoner s stories
Chaucer was showing us many things through his eyes as he sees them. He wanted to show that the
Catholic Church had some issues and he wanted changes within the church.
The pardoner is a story of a long blonde hair, smooth faced person who we could say was either a man
or women. Due to the sexuality on the pardoner Chaucer created some doubt in the reader s ... Show

A way to pass the time while traveling, but also it shows us the insight of how people can make
anything believable, and prays on the fears of others. Sin is the biggest fair that I see as I read the
stories. Yes, we much repent but when there is someone praying on those fears it make people want to
do the right thing no matter what they have to do. The pardons that he was sales were not a sure way
of asking for forgiveness from God but instead he was acting like they were going to save them.
The reading of the tales we see how Chaucer uses satire to bring to life the social life of a woman who
back then was out for herself, with the husband. There was probably talk from everyone, but in today s
world there would not be that much talk. It was not something that women done back then, more
commonly in today.
Greed can and does affect people the same no matter what the times, social environments, it is the rut
of all evil. Over the centuries it is handled differently. Chaucer knew that it was going to be perceived
by others as such. If he was in today s society he would see that there is no difference. We have grown
up in a society what anything goes. It is common for a woman to have been married more than once,
and it is not that big of deal. Years ago it was a big deal for women to marry that may times, because it
was just not how they were brought up. They were married at a young

Huckleberry Finn Weather Analysis
Weather plays an important role in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. In one part of the book, Jim
predicts that it will rain and it does. While the rain is coming down, they find a river house with a dead
body inside. Jim then covers up the dead body in order to protect Huck, while they both steal
valuables from the house. The rain represents the mysteriousness surrounding the dead body and the
house. It is later revealed in the book that the dead body was Huck s father. In this case, the rain is also
restorative. Huck is now able to become his old self before his father returned to his life because his
father is dead now. The rain in this case has a dual meaning of mysteriousness and restoration. Later

In the twenty first century, a reader sees a God helping Odysseus enact revenge on a couple of suitors.
In our modern society, we view murder as wrong no matter how it is justified. Even revenge murder is
murder in our current society. However, based on a contemporary view, a reader would understand
why Odysseus killed all the suitors. Odysseus was defending his honor. Back when the book was
written, the justice system was not as complex as it is today. The killing of men to defend your honor
was seen as justifiable. In addition, the god and goddess in that time had more of a meaning than in
our society today. In the book, Homer assumes that we know about the god and goddess, but
nowadays, many of us do not know their significance. In contemporary times, the reader would
understand why Athena is helping Odyssey achieve his revenge. It is because Athena is the goddess of
wisdom, law, and justice. Athena is helping him obtain law and justice. A modern reader might miss
this connection. The reader might see the killing of the suitors as unjustified, but to a contemporary
reader, the killings are sanctioned by law and

Elizabethan Era Beauty
Beauty in the Elizabethan Era and Much Ado About Nothing Throughout history, literature has been a
way for people to expand their viewpoint and appreciate the world around them through different
cultures and traditions presented in a story. C. S. Lewis explains that through literature; We seek an
enlargement of our being. We want to be more than ourselves (137). This explains that through
literature, people learn lessons and read because they want to learn from these lessons and better
themselves. Many influential writers throughout history have brought different ideas and lessons that
have helped shape the society we know today. One writer who has had a tremendous impact on
society is William Shakespeare. Shakespeare s works are still well read and can be related to today
even though the Elizabethan Era in which he lived in is different from the culture of the modern
world. However, the Elizabethan Era still has aspects of its society that can resonate with that of the
modern day. One of those aspects is the stereotypes that women were faced with during the
Elizabethan Era. The Elizabethan Era was a time of social reform for women. Though women became
more educated and seen in a different light than what they were used to, the era in no way brought
them to the equivalence of a women in today s society. Women were still seen as inferior by men and
men still believed they were the greatest creation in the world. Tim Stretton states, In almost every

The Death Penalty Is A Form Of Cruel And Unusual Punishment
The death penalty till this day remains to be a very controversial topic. Some people may argue that it
should be considered a form of cruel and unusual punishment; others may rebuttal in saying that the
death penalty is capital punishment. When visiting the idea of placing someone to death one must bear
in mind the possibility of condemning an innocent person through such torture, the brutalizing effect
on society it may leave, and the serious psychological trauma that a defendants family and friends may
face. Is this really what the justice system is willing to place on the line in order to gain a form of so
called justice. I mean reasonably speaking what will anyone gain from such an action. It definitely
will not bring the harm to be undone. As stated in the encyclopedia under the theory of judicial torture
the use of torture was confined to capital crimes, for which the death penalty or mutilation could apply
(PIHLAJAM, 2004). Looking at how the death penalty is conducted people should not be treated like
animals, given a due time to be put down. No human being deserves such treatment whether or not his
or her offense was so horrific and traumatic. Is that not the lesson being taught to society when the
criminal is captured? Yet, the law as a jury of peers, men just like the accused, may cast the same sin
upon him. Why should this action be considered in any way to be fair or believed to be capital
punishment?

Reactive Supervisors Essay
An entire industry, multiple government organizations and billions of dollars spent to govern, monitor,
and enforce safety. With all this oversight, why does safety fail? Anyone who deals with safety on a
day to day basis would love to have this question answered. Many people have lost hair, sleep,
patience, and time pondering, how did this happen? Most times through the course of research and
investigations, the answer is; safety fails when people routinely deviate from standard without
repercussion, supervision is inadequate, or when people begin to rush. Latent failure is the term used
to identify an error in the safety system that lays dormant for a period. Latent failures by themselves
seldom cause an accident but rather ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By not investing the possibilities that they may face nonstandard events in the future, they set
themselves and those in their charge up for issues. Supervisors who are able to look ahead at
impending issues will be able to react quicker and have better results. Even worse is the tendency for
reactive supervisors to become over reactive supervisors. Over reaction may come in many forms but
all will share one common trend, they will be detrimental to those they affect. Close minded
supervisors and those that blindly enforce the standard are similar in nature but differ in reason and
drive. Close mindedness is a product of refusing to see another s point of view where as someone
blindly enforcing standards may be doing so with all the best intentions but may not be aware of the
benefits of pushing for a change to the standard. Of all the supervisors for a safety system, the most
burdening is one that only identifies issues and shortcomings but never presents a solution. The impact
this style of supervision has on those under it cannot be understated it is morally exhausting. Workers
who constantly have to wade through issue after issue with an apparent abandonment from the
supervisors that never produce a solution will begin to get sloppy, apathetic, and rush just to be done

Aphasia Vocabulary
According to sources, Aphasia is described as a communication disorder that usually affects the use of
acquired spoken or written language (Halpern Goldfarb, 2013). Patients that have been diagnosed with
aphasia in general usually have difficulties with auditory understanding, reading comprehension,
written language difficulties and of course difficulty in spoken language expression (Halpern
Goldfarb, 2013). One of the most essential areas that patients with aphasia want to see improvements
in is the ability to have functional spoken communication (Mayer, 2003). It is vital that clinicians

A topic of discussion researchers and studies have investigated proves that patients that are
categorized under fluent aphasia are patients that display difficulty with using their thoughts to
formulate language that is understood (Halpern Goldfarb, 2013). With that being said individuals with
fluent aphasia usually produce speech that is normal in terms of length, articulation and do not require
much effort to state verbally (Halpern Goldfarb, 2013). While that may be simple for patients
diagnosed with fluent aphasia, communicating thoughts for listeners to understand is much more
difficult (Raymer Kohen, 2003). Individuals that have anomic aphasia are well aware of mistakes
made and are usually not successful when trying to correct their errors (Halpern Goldfarb, 2013).
When errors are not successfully repaired these individuals become discouraged (Halpern Goldfarb,
2013). The idea of spoken language becomes much more difficult for these individuals because, these
individuals know what exactly it is they want to produce but, their diagnoses makes it very difficult to
do so (Halpern Goldfarb,

Violent Media And Media Violence
There are various explanations for the causes of violence. This remains significant because violence
leads to many criminal activities in society today. For example, certain crimes such as assault or
robbery involve the use of violence because the victim is injured or harmed in a physical way. The
purpose of the study is to examine whether young adults who watch violent television programs are
more likely to possess violent attitudes, which promotes aggressive behaviour like uttering threats or
assault. This conveys that it s important to study the association between violent media and violent
attitudes because it provides insight towards the increasing crime rates that occur in society. The
rationale for conducting research on media violence provides explanations for the occurrences of
violent crimes because violent media is considered a significant factor for violent attitudes, which
leads to various types of violent crimes committed by adolescents and young adults. Other significant
studies have expressed their interest in the topic regarding the media s influence on violence. The
study The Influence of Media Violence on Youth examines whether violent videogames increases the
probability of individuals engaging in violent activities such as uttering threats and physical assaults
(Anderson et al., 2003). The research involves participants such as children because they are more
likely to be associated with violent media such as videogames (Anderson et al., 2003).

Benefits Of Roundabouts In The City Of Yucaipa
In the city of Yucaipa, back in 2014, a plan was approved for the city to make several roundabouts to
replace stop lights and stop signs along residential areas. They made a plan that would place 5 of these
roundabouts along Avenue E and a few along Yucaipa Blvd. the plan would, in the end, cost them
around $2.3 million (according to a 2013 estimate). Now Calimesa wants to follow in its footsteps and
build 6 new roundabouts along County Line Rd. along with a road restoration project that will cost
well over $16.4 million to complete. The city is calling for Yucaipa to contribute almost $2 million,
while also receiving an $11 million grant from the federal TIGER program. The city will still have to

The city is making a mistake. If they can t afford it, then they need to invest more to bring businesses
and services for the people. That way, they can afford to make such a huge project plan. The mentality
that roundabouts would attract tourists is the wrong one to have. They would not earn back the money
that they cost the city. And while they lessen the impact of car accidents on the road, they cause more
accidents as people are unfamiliar on how to enter or go through a roundabout. And they are
inconvenient or maybe even intimidating for pedestrians with their design. On top of that, they are
disadvantages with the many blind spots that are created, either from the driver s focus or the
inconvenient decorative islands in the center of the intersection. Why are we even making
roundabouts then? I don t know. Well actually I do have an idea why, but it just seems illogical to me.
Possible solution number 1) Just don t build the roundabouts. Simple. Well, not really, the leftover
funds need to go somewhere after all. There is a call to improve the roads in this small town in
Calimesa, and after the last sudden burst of rainfall we received recently, the roads are in some really
bad shape. The funds would be better used to repair the existing roads, and it would likely be less
costly and would require no land

Questions On The Doctrine Of Discovery Essay
Thomas Berumen
AIS 304
Professor Harjo
October 18, 2016
AIS 304 Midterm
1.
The Doctrine of Discovery was a concept used to further colonization and strip land from the
indigenous people. According to Class 7 Lecture, it allowed colonial powers to colonize the land that
they discovered even if indigenous people already lived there. The doctrine provides title to the nation
making the discovery of the land even if the soil is inhabited by natives. Provided the land excluded
European sovereign . When European powers establish rule in what is now the United States the
government was given the ownership of the lands until they felt the need use of the land. The Indians
currently residing in the lands were just inhabitants. The doctrine set for by Chief Justice Marshall was
set forth to mimic colonial powers and prevent further European expansion on U.S. soils. Following
the Johnson v McIntosh case, it established a preventive measure of Indians and Indian tribes from
selling the land to anyone but the United States government. This was to prevent European colonies to
develop in the United States.
The doctrine was important for the development and expansion of colonial powers, but the
implementation was a negative effect by forcefully taking lands from the indigenous. It disowned the
culture and lifestyles of millions. Rationally it is a shame that the government chose to deny aboriginal
title owners as they should have been allowed to keep their land. I agree in the decision

Attorney Client Privilege
The interesting part of the two matters I will be addressing here is that an individual almost has to
know prior to a suit being filed that litigation may occur. Discussions and written matter, all
correspondence, emails and documents exchanged between parties should be prepared with a thought
to potential litigation. Attorney Client Privilege and the Work Product Doctrine are two separate and
distinct issues and should be treated within the legal world as separate disclosures. Attorney Client
Privilege, which originated in Roman and canon law, has evolved into a recognized judicial doctrine
and is necessary in order to provide clients with access to effective, well informed counsel. In Upjohn

old people still have so much to offer to the society including the experiences they have accumulated

they can pass on to the younger generations. Older people have so much information within them and

plan which will not disrupt them so much from their activities, and, therefore, they are able to
transition to a new lifestyle easily. In so doing, the ageing population also avoids developing diseases
associated with depression, which could make them lose functionality in the society.
As people age, they are exposed to many infections. In fact, it begins immediately a child is born, but

The Symbolism Of Roxane In Cyrano De Bergerac
In Cyrano de Bergerac, the moon represents Roxane. In the quote, We re almost invisible to each
other. You see the blackness of a long cloak; I see the whiteness of a summer dress. I m only a
shadow; you re only a spot of brightness. You can t know what these moments mean to me! , it shows
how Roxane is the moon to Cyrano. When Cyrano says, You see the blackness of a long cloak; I see
the whiteness of a summer dress. , he means that the way she sees herself and the way Cyrano sees her
is different, he sees her as the whiteness of a summer dress , or he sees her to be extremely beautiful.
In addition, he says that he is a shadow and that she is only a spot of brightness meaning that the
reason for Cyrano s existence is solely for Roxane.

Middle School Graduation Essay
A is for awesome as it perfectly sums up my middle school years. While there were some bumps along
the road, I ve finally made it to the end of this exciting(2) 8th grade year. Throughout my years at
Sierramont Middle School, I ve experienced and learned so many valuable skills that I ll always
remember. I ve met people that changed my life, teachers that inspired and taught me, and experienced
the joys of middle school. While there were some people that annoyed me to the point I wanted to
explode(10), there were more people who left a positive mark in my life. The teachers I ve had have
done so much for me and all I can hope for is for all teachers to be recognized more. Teachers are the

Throughout middle school, I had many opportunities to earn(3) extra credit, but I ll never get as much
as I did in Mr. Lam s history class in 7th grade. It s like that class was made just for me! Everyday
there was a new assignment and if we showed it to him the next day and got it stamped, we would get
extra credit. I m very proud to say I got every extra credit option except the first one since I didn t
understand how his class worked. Despite his extra credit opportunities, some people said they were
struggling to get by. I was pretty mind blown since my grade in his class was never below an A. While
his class was already easy and I was okay with an A, I had so much extra time that it would be
ridiculous if I didn t do the extra credit. While it s nice to have extra credit, I don t like teachers who
give it for cleaning(1) the classroom or helping others since it doesn t have anything to do with what
we are learning. My 6th grade science teacher was the easiest teacher ever since her work was easy
and gave us extra credit for doing good deeds. That may be why I don t know as much about what we
learned in 6th grade science since all I did was slack off and get extra credit. If only all teachers were
like Mr. Lam, then everyone would learn and have a good grade that ll impress their

The And Its Effect On The Human Body
Introduction:
Bacteria, which is the plural form of bacterium, is a large group of unicellular organisms. They are
prokaryotes, which means that they do not have a nucleus and other various organelles. They are the
smallest living cells, and these cells are both beneficial and detrimental to the human body. However,
antiseptics are applied to the epidermis (usually hands) of organisms to decrease the chance of
receiving an illness. Antiseptics, such as rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizers destroy bacteria by
changing the pH level of the environment that the bacteria remain in. The change of the pH level
makes it difficult for the bacteria to survive in the environment it invades. In this lab, we are trying to
figure out the effectiveness of these particular antiseptics: Bath and Body Works Ocean (A), Germ X
(B), Bath and Body Works I Love Geeks (C) and no antiseptic (D). The effectiveness of this sanitizers
is based on whether they can inhibit bacteria or not.
Problem/Purpose:
To determine the effectiveness of antiseptics on inability bacteria growth.
Hypothesis:
If the hand sanitizers have active ingredients that kill bacteria, then the Bath and Body Works hand
sanitizer, Ocean with 68% Ethanol, will be the most effective antiseptic.
Materials:
Bath and Body Works Ocean Hand sanitizer with 68% Ethanol
Germ X Hand sanitizer with 63% Ethyl Alcohol (expired)
Bath and Body Works I Love Geeks Hand sanitizer with 68% Alcohol

Causes And Consequences Of Premature Birth Essay
Introduction Babies born before thirty seven weeks gestation are considered to be preterm, or
premature. More than one in every ten babies is born too early. Preterm birth complications are the
leading cause of death among children under five years of age. Premature birth has a wide range of
effects. All babies born before thirty seven weeks gestation are at risk for complications that can have
a lasting effect on the growing baby and family. At twenty four weeks, the survival rate of a premature
baby is only fifty percent. The many different causes and effects that premature birth can have on the
baby, his/her future development and family will be further discussed in this paper. At birth a baby is
considered one of the following: Premature (less than thirty seven weeks gestation), Full term (thirty
seven to forty two weeks gestation), Post term (born after forty two weeks gestation) (Kaneshiro). A
premature baby is not fully developed due to exiting the womb prior to reaching full term. Due to this
complication, premies will spend time in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) if the doctor deems
it necessary. A baby born at full term weighs somewhere between five pounds eight ounces and eight
pound thirteen ounces. A baby born at thirty two weeks weighs somewhere around three and a half
pounds, twenty eight weeks two and a half pounds, and twenty four weeks one and a half pounds. This
low birth weight and underdevelopment causes many issues for the

The Progressive Tax System Of The United States Essay
There is an issue that has plagued the United States even prior to the founding of the nation. That issue
is fair taxation. While the American Colonists were being taxed unfairly without parliamentary
representation, average modern Americans are being taxed unfairly without legal representation. Some
hold the belief that the progressive tax code employed by the United States to be fair as the wealthy
pay a higher marginal tax rate. The operative word there being marginal. As the upper class typically
has a much lower effective tax rate since they are able to afford tax attorneys who are able to find
many deductions that average citizens are unaware of. Mitt Romney is a prime example of low
effective rates of taxation. According to CNN Money, Mitt Romney made twenty one million dollars
in one year, but only paid an effective rate of fifteen percent, which is much lower than the rate he
should be paying. The progressive tax system is one that is littered with loopholes, but those are only
known to those with the means to search them out as the federal tax code spans seventy thousand of
pages of convoluted text. Not even the highest paid tax accountants will ever read anywhere near the
full volume of tax laws. By the tax code being as long as it is, few are able to reap the full benefits of
the tax code. The level of complicated text is not the only major issue with the federal tax code.
Another issue with the tax code of the United States is the inability to separate

Persuasive Speech on Industrial Hemp
Do any of you know the difference between industrial hemp and marijuana? Would you like to? The
purpose of this speech is to explain the differences in marijuana and industrial hemp, and to show the
need to reform the present hemp laws in the United States in order to make hemp available for
industrial purposes. The hemp plant shows its unique versatility by having many uses in industry and
hemp has many distinct benefits over its counterpart in industry today. The usage of hemp would
result in cleaner and more efficient industry. I will first discuss the differences between hemp and
marijuana to avoid confusion, and then state the many ways that industrial hemp can help our
economy such as; the use for fiber, the use in foods, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many populations have grown hemp for its seed. Most of them eat it as `gruel , a food similar to
oatmeal. Hemp seeds do not contain any marijuana, so they do not cause a high . Hemp seed protein
closely resembles protein as it is found in the human blood, and it is easy to digest. In fact, people who
have trouble digesting foods are given hemp seeds prescribed by their doctors. Hemp seed oil provides
the human body with essential fatty acids and is the only seed that contains oils with almost no
saturated fat. As a supplement to the diet, these oils can reduce the risk of heart disease. With hemp
seed, a vegan or vegetarian can survive and eat virtually no saturated fats. One handful of hemp seed
per day will supply adequate protein and essential oils for an adult.
Lastly, hemp may also be used to produce ethanol. The United States government has developed a
way to make automobile fuel additive from biomass, and hemp is an excellent source of high quality
biomass. One other way to use hemp as fuel is to use the oil from the hemp seed. However, even if we
could produce and press enough hemp seed to power many millions of cars, the oil is more useful for
other purposes as suggested earlier. Biomass fuels are clean and virtually free from metals and sulfur,
so they do not cause nearly as much air pollution as fossil fuels. More importantly, burning biomass
fuels does not increase the total amount of carbon

Comparison Of Romantic Poetry And Elizabeth Barrett...
Wordsworth s theory of Romantic poetry is described as the spontaneous overflow of powerful
feelings; it takes its origin from emotion recollected in tranquility and Elizabeth Barrett Browning and
her husband Robert Browning uses that in their poetry. The couple were the true definition of the
Romantic poetry era. Both poets contribute to the Romantic era by using strong imagery, writing about
social issues and expressing their emotions in their work. First of all, imagery is huge in both
Brownings work. In Elizabeth Browning s The Cry of the Children, she writes about child labor. In the
beginning of the poem she gives us the image of the situation The young flowers are blowing toward

In The Cry of the Children, Elizabeth takes the reader on a ride of emotions. She gives the audience
images of child labor and expresses how it shouldn t continue. She goes on and describes that the
children would find happiness within death, Death in life, as best to have and that death would be
better than working as a child, like they are doing. A few lines later, the poem describes if the children
were not to work and go outside and play, they would To drop down in them and sleep / our knees

what the children feel, sadness. In Porphyria s Lover, Robert has the readers thinking that his poem is
another love story, but he tricks the readers. Browning has the readers feeling a different way once the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Simulation
Simulation is a software package for modeling, simulating, and analyzing dynamical systems. It
supports linear and non linear systems, modeled in continuous time, sampled time, or a hybrid of the
two. Systems can also be multi rate, i.e., have different parts that are sampled or updated at different
rates. For modeling, Simulink provides a graphical user interface (GUI) for building models as block
diagrams, using click and drag mouse operations. With this interface, you can draw the models just as
you would with pencil and paper (or as most textbooks depict them). This is a far cry from previous
simulation packages that require you to formulate differential equations in a language or program.
Simulink includes a comprehensive block library of a sinks, sources, linear and non linear

Ernest Hemingway s The Big Two-Hearted River
Hemingway s 1925 short story, The Big Two Hearted River, originally from the collection of short
stories entitled In Our Time, engages in an introspective identity crisis, which arises after the book s
protagonist, Nick, returns from World War I. While Nick attempts to navigate his life outside of
combat, Hemingway takes him on a journey of reconciliation and self discovery. Embarking on his
journey into nature, Nick submerges himself in a life of what seems to be pure tranquility. In Nick s
eyes, society subjects people to violence, but nature is inherently good. Shortly after, Hemingway
provides Nick with tangible evidence opposing his original thoughts. Hemingway brings to light the
fact that both society and nature have subliminal binaries ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After experiencing moments of loss and violence, Nick chooses to return to the one place of constancy
he knows, which is nature. In nature, Nick believes that he can escape the brutality and hate that
humanity creates. Leaving behind the burned town of Seney and choosing to enter the natural world,
Nick [feels] he [has] left everything behind, the need for thinking, the need to write, other needs. It
was all back of him, (Hemingway 179). Hemingway subtly suggests that Nick has been plagued with
an endless list of realities that have consumed him for far too long. Nick s escape from reality provides
brief moments of solitude and rest from his bustling world. Amidst the burned and destroyed town of
Seney a river remains untouched, providing a symbol of hope. While Seney seems broken, the
possibility of new beginnings and life exists. This binary is parallel in Nick s life as well. Nick
actively chooses to pursue new beginnings instead of dwelling on the memories of his past, but is
quickly reminded that he cannot escape the parts of his life that play a large part in his identity.
Attempting to escape the pressing realities of life back home, Nick notices that the problems he
internalizes in his own life are apparent in nature as well. While fishing and rivers seems to be a place
of happiness and healing for Nick, reality finds a way to creep in. Looking at a trout in the river, Nick
s heart tightened as the trout moved. He felt all the old feeling, (Hemingway 178). Nick does not
reveal the old feeling or who/what is associated with that feeling. Instead, it can be recognized that a
tightened heart is a sign of tension and anxiety. Despite Nick s best efforts to escape his past seeking
comfort in the familiar, he finds that like his pack, he carries his past with him wherever he goes,
whether he desires to or

Dental Implant Procedure
What To Expect When Your Dentist Inserts An Implant Rod Into Your Jaw
Getting a dental implant requires specialized bone surgery. That s why your general dentist may not be
suitable for the job. You need an implant dentist who has been trained and certified in the procedure.
Here is a quick look at the process you go through to replace a missing tooth with an implant rod.
Bone Evaluation
Your dentist has to evaluate the state of your bone first. This can be done through x rays and a physical
examination. If your tooth has been missing for a long time, your bone may have shrunk. When you
just have one missing tooth, the implant has to go in one specific area. Therefore, the bone in the gap
has to be thick enough and strong enough to hold ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If that s the case, you will receive a shot in the gum just like you do when you get a filling. If you have
anxiety about the procedure, the dentist may also offer drugs to sedate you. These calm you and may
even put you into a light sleep, but you ll still be alert enough to follow instructions. In some cases,
general anesthesia might be necessary so you sleep throughout the treatment and are unaware of what
is going on. Your dentist will take your preferences into account when deciding what is best. You may
want to avoid a general anesthetic at all costs. On the other hand, if the idea of bone surgery bothers
you, you may prefer to be put to sleep.
The Procedure
First, the dentist has to access your bone. This is done by cutting open your gum and spreading back
the sides. If the bone is flat, the dentist is ready to start drilling into it. If your bone has an irregular
shape, the dentist will contour it first. By shaving off the raised areas, the bone will hold onto the
implant more evenly and will be stronger.
Drilling into your bone requires careful precision. The hole created in your bone has to be the exact
depth and width needed for the implant rod. The dentist will start with a tiny drill bit and use
progressively larger bits until the hole is the right size. The hole is measured periodically with a
measuring pin. The pin checks for depth and alignment of the hole. When the hole is complete, the
dentist may check it with an x ray to make sure everything looks

The Rise and Fall of Richard the Third Essay
amp;#9;Much debate and controversy surround the rise and fall of Richard the Third. It is hard to
ignore such subjects due to the bonds and hidden reasons that many of the authors of the middle ages
had towards Richard. In keeping an objective approach towards Richard III, the study of his rise and
fall will be taken in the perspective of his royal acts and administration of England. Public sentiment
over such things as the scandal surrounding the princes did have an effect over the rule of Richard, but
there are many other underlying aspects that could have extended Richards rule, and changed the way
history looks back on him.

They had news that the Woodvilles were conspiring against Gloucester in order to take control of
England immediately. While parliament anxiously awaited Gloucester s explanation for his actions,
Richard did not meet with much adversity from the people upon his arrival to London. They felt he
was doing his duty, as no one suspected him of aspiring to anything but regent. Richard was then
formally installed as Protectorate of England, but Richard realized that his power would not last
forever, possibly four to five years.
In prior years, Richard had gained much public support and accolades for his part in fighting Scotland.
He uses this support in his next step of a move for the throne. In the past there had been rumors of
Edward the IV being illegitimate, now there was evidence that Edward s son was illegitimate as well,
as Edward IV had not been legally wed to Elizabeth when they had Edward V. Upon hearing this
news, Richard chose to proceed with caution, only telling chief political players and asking their
advice. Richard was wise for these actions. He had been known for his prudence in the past in the war
with Scotland. When Edward IV wanted a crushing blow to the Scots, Richard realized that it would
be too costly and at the same time England had already accomplished a great feat. Richard pushed

The Great Gatsby Adaptation Essay
The adaptation of literature into film is a process that requires careful and experienced methods of
cinematic attention to details according to crucial narrative aspects of the literary piece. The film
industry has been creating visual versions of literature for quite some time, but the advancement of
modern technology has opened the door to a world full of new and exciting possibilities in terms of
visual and special effects. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald is a timeless classic of the
American literary canon, and is a popular choice for film adaptation because the vivid imagery and

For example, he deletes a scene that is key to Fitzgerald s novel; consequently, he perverts the author s
original intentions for an initial establishment of the friendship between Jay Gatsby and Nick prior to
the introduction of the cultural party elements. Dixon (2003), who asserts that Coppola sullied
Fitzgerald s original intentions, reinforces this claim when he states, For example, Nick meets Gatsby
during one of his parties at Gatsby s mansion in a causal, offhand fashion. But in the film, Nick goes
for the first time to one of Gatsby s parties, is melodramatically accosted by a grim faced bodyguard,
taken upstairs in a private elevator, and finally thrust into Gatsby s study. This attempt to heighten
artificially the initial contact between Nick and Gatsby demonstrates an unfortunate reliance upon
extremely clichéd devices to provide dramatic tension (p. 293). However, Fitzgerald makes it clear
that Nick and Gatsby s relationship exists separately from the dramatic elements of the

  • 2. Fourth Ward School Analysis Within historic Virginia City resides the Fourth Ward School, a building constructed in 1874. When it was built, Virginia City was booming with a population of approximately twenty two thousand people. Virginia City at the time wanted to show off some of its pride as a city with a new four story school. As the school today is so very old and has a history, people running the museum have to balance keeping the place funded and staying historically true. Today, the museum has lost much of its historical authenticity and has taken on more of a museum s role, rather than a historical building role. However, that does not diminish the education potential the Fourth Ward School still has. The School itself closed down in 1936, and it was not until ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This comes from the fact that the Fourth Ward School has undergone massive reconstruction since its desertion in 1936. That does not take away from the fact that the school looks to be authentic, like it was just preserved. This adds to its efficiency to educate as few museums can also claim to be a historical building and show history visually. Even if the school is entirely re created, with the vast sum of knowledge on the school, we can recreate it masterfully so that everyone can still learn and enjoy being in a historical building that is the last of its kind. The Fourth Ward School blends the needs of historic preservation well with the needs of a modern museum. It is likely that as time goes on, the needs of the museum will outweigh the needs of historical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Tissue Aging Research Paper Among the diseases and disorders associated with advancing age, one of the most debilitating is the loss of normal cardiac function leading to heart failure. Heart failure affects approximately 1% of individuals over 50 and over 5% of individuals over 75. With the ongoing steep rise in the proportion of elderly individuals within our population (Schocken et al., 2008), age related heart failure is becoming increasingly prevalent. Most age related heart failure occurs in the setting of normal systolic function and is called diastolic heart failure, in contrast to systolic heart failure (Aurigemma, 2006). Although progress has been made in the treatment of systolic heart failure, with substantial improvements in outcome over the past two ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These experiments reveal that the cardiac hypertrophy of aging is at least in part mediated by circulating factors and led to the discovery that systemic growth differentiation factor 11 (GDF11), a TGF β family member, can reverse age related cardiac hypertrophy. These data suggest that at least one pathologic component of age related diastolic heart failure is hormonal in nature and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This short story illustrates the struggle of growing up is especially difficult when in a culture different from ones parents. When Narrator Waverly Jong first introduces herself at the young age of seven. Waverly lives in China Town, San Francisco with her immigrant parents and two older brothers. She is a very smart, curious and obedient daughter. The author indirectly shows the reader during the first supermarket scene when Waverly is introduced to the art of invisible strength . This value of silence is a form of strength and dignity in the Chinese Culture. Waverly obeys her mother that day and soon learns that it can be used as a tool for success in the game of chess. • 8. The Boy In The Striped Pajamas Text Response Looking over this picture it makes me think of how badly the Jews were treated and how bad they wanted to escape. Jews had been beaten, neglected, and starved. They were taken away from their families and some even killed in front of their loved ones. They would not even stay at one place for very long, they would travel from camp to camp because of the war. It is terrible how they could take someone because they were a Jew and not even know anything about them. It is not that the Jew did anything wrong it is simply just because they are Jews. Secondly, when I look at this picture it makes me think of the movie we watched, The Boy in The Striped Pajamas and the book that we are reading Night. The person to the left of the picture is wearing striped clothing, just as the boy was in the movie. Therefore, it is like this man was once inside one of the concentration camps. In addition, this man appears to be hanging on a barbed wire fence. It is as if he was trying to escape. Knowing that in the movie the only thing separation the boy in the striped pajamas from the outside world was the barbed wire fence. The photo makes me think of how miserable everyone inside these camps were. • 9. The Pardoner s Prologue And Tale Analysis The Pardoner s Prologue and tale was written by Geoffrey Chaucer, they were part of his stories The Canterbury Tale . The tales are a collection of 24 stories told by the pilgrims on their way to Canterbury. While we have only read two The Pardoner s Prologue and Tale , and the Wife of Bath Prologue and Tale we were able to see what type of stories he was writing. In the Pardoner s stories Chaucer was showing us many things through his eyes as he sees them. He wanted to show that the Catholic Church had some issues and he wanted changes within the church. The pardoner is a story of a long blonde hair, smooth faced person who we could say was either a man or women. Due to the sexuality on the pardoner Chaucer created some doubt in the reader s ... Sin is the biggest fair that I see as I read the stories. Yes, we much repent but when there is someone praying on those fears it make people want to do the right thing no matter what they have to do. The pardons that he was sales were not a sure way of asking for forgiveness from God but instead he was acting like they were going to save them. The reading of the tales we see how Chaucer uses satire to bring to life the social life of a woman who back then was out for herself, with the husband. There was probably talk from everyone, but in today s world there would not be that much talk. It was not something that women done back then, more commonly in today. Greed can and does affect people the same no matter what the times, social environments, it is the rut of all evil. Over the centuries it is handled differently. Chaucer knew that it was going to be perceived by others as such. If he was in today s society he would see that there is no difference. We have grown up in a society what anything goes. • 10. Huckleberry Finn Weather Analysis Weather plays an important role in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. In one part of the book, Jim predicts that it will rain and it does. While the rain is coming down, they find a river house with a dead body inside. Jim then covers up the dead body in order to protect Huck, while they both steal valuables from the house. The rain represents the mysteriousness surrounding the dead body and the house. It is later revealed in the book that the dead body was Huck s father. In this case, the rain is also restorative. Huck is now able to become his old self before his father returned to his life because his father is dead now. The rain in this case has a dual meaning of mysteriousness and restoration. Later on, Huck and Jim stumble upon a shipwreck ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the twenty first century, a reader sees a God helping Odysseus enact revenge on a couple of suitors. In our modern society, we view murder as wrong no matter how it is justified. Even revenge murder is murder in our current society. However, based on a contemporary view, a reader would understand why Odysseus killed all the suitors. Odysseus was defending his honor. Back when the book was written, the justice system was not as complex as it is today. The killing of men to defend your honor was seen as justifiable. In addition, the god and goddess in that time had more of a meaning than in our society today. In the book, Homer assumes that we know about the god and goddess, but nowadays, many of us do not know their significance. In contemporary times, the reader would understand why Athena is helping Odyssey achieve his revenge. It is because Athena is the goddess of wisdom, law, and justice. Athena is helping him obtain law and justice. A modern reader might miss this connection. The reader might see the killing of the suitors as unjustified, but to a contemporary reader, the killings are sanctioned by law and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Elizabethan Era Beauty Beauty in the Elizabethan Era and Much Ado About Nothing Throughout history, literature has been a way for people to expand their viewpoint and appreciate the world around them through different cultures and traditions presented in a story. C. S. Lewis explains that through literature; We seek an enlargement of our being. We want to be more than ourselves (137). This explains that through literature, people learn lessons and read because they want to learn from these lessons and better themselves. Many influential writers throughout history have brought different ideas and lessons that have helped shape the society we know today. One writer who has had a tremendous impact on society is William Shakespeare. Shakespeare s works are still well read and can be related to today even though the Elizabethan Era in which he lived in is different from the culture of the modern world. However, the Elizabethan Era still has aspects of its society that can resonate with that of the modern day. One of those aspects is the stereotypes that women were faced with during the Elizabethan Era. The Elizabethan Era was a time of social reform for women. Though women became more educated and seen in a different light than what they were used to, the era in no way brought them to the equivalence of a women in today s society. Women were still seen as inferior by men and men still believed they were the greatest creation in the world. Tim Stretton states, In almost every context in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. The Death Penalty Is A Form Of Cruel And Unusual Punishment The death penalty till this day remains to be a very controversial topic. Some people may argue that it should be considered a form of cruel and unusual punishment; others may rebuttal in saying that the death penalty is capital punishment. When visiting the idea of placing someone to death one must bear in mind the possibility of condemning an innocent person through such torture, the brutalizing effect on society it may leave, and the serious psychological trauma that a defendants family and friends may face. Is this really what the justice system is willing to place on the line in order to gain a form of so called justice. I mean reasonably speaking what will anyone gain from such an action. It definitely will not bring the harm to be undone. As stated in the encyclopedia under the theory of judicial torture the use of torture was confined to capital crimes, for which the death penalty or mutilation could apply (PIHLAJAM, 2004). Looking at how the death penalty is conducted people should not be treated like animals, given a due time to be put down. No human being deserves such treatment whether or not his or her offense was so horrific and traumatic. Is that not the lesson being taught to society when the criminal is captured? Yet, the law as a jury of peers, men just like the accused, may cast the same sin upon him. Why should this action be considered in any way to be fair or believed to be capital punishment? If we look back from 1927 until 2011 there have been ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Reactive Supervisors Essay An entire industry, multiple government organizations and billions of dollars spent to govern, monitor, and enforce safety. With all this oversight, why does safety fail? Anyone who deals with safety on a day to day basis would love to have this question answered. Many people have lost hair, sleep, patience, and time pondering, how did this happen? Most times through the course of research and investigations, the answer is; safety fails when people routinely deviate from standard without repercussion, supervision is inadequate, or when people begin to rush. Latent failure is the term used to identify an error in the safety system that lays dormant for a period. Latent failures by themselves seldom cause an accident but rather ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By not investing the possibilities that they may face nonstandard events in the future, they set themselves and those in their charge up for issues. Supervisors who are able to look ahead at impending issues will be able to react quicker and have better results. Even worse is the tendency for reactive supervisors to become over reactive supervisors. Over reaction may come in many forms but all will share one common trend, they will be detrimental to those they affect. Close minded supervisors and those that blindly enforce the standard are similar in nature but differ in reason and drive. Close mindedness is a product of refusing to see another s point of view where as someone blindly enforcing standards may be doing so with all the best intentions but may not be aware of the benefits of pushing for a change to the standard. Of all the supervisors for a safety system, the most burdening is one that only identifies issues and shortcomings but never presents a solution. The impact this style of supervision has on those under it cannot be understated it is morally exhausting. Workers who constantly have to wade through issue after issue with an apparent abandonment from the supervisors that never produce a solution will begin to get sloppy, apathetic, and rush just to be done with ... • 14. Aphasia Vocabulary According to sources, Aphasia is described as a communication disorder that usually affects the use of acquired spoken or written language (Halpern Goldfarb, 2013). Patients that have been diagnosed with aphasia in general usually have difficulties with auditory understanding, reading comprehension, written language difficulties and of course difficulty in spoken language expression (Halpern Goldfarb, 2013). One of the most essential areas that patients with aphasia want to see improvements in is the ability to have functional spoken communication (Mayer, 2003). It is vital that clinicians focus on the needs of the patient by introducing the patient to different therapy techniques that will benefit them outside of the treatment environment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A topic of discussion researchers and studies have investigated proves that patients that are categorized under fluent aphasia are patients that display difficulty with using their thoughts to formulate language that is understood (Halpern Goldfarb, 2013). With that being said individuals with fluent aphasia usually produce speech that is normal in terms of length, articulation and do not require much effort to state verbally (Halpern Goldfarb, 2013). While that may be simple for patients diagnosed with fluent aphasia, communicating thoughts for listeners to understand is much more difficult (Raymer Kohen, 2003). Individuals that have anomic aphasia are well aware of mistakes made and are usually not successful when trying to correct their errors (Halpern Goldfarb, 2013). When errors are not successfully repaired these individuals become discouraged (Halpern Goldfarb, 2013). The idea of spoken language becomes much more difficult for these individuals because, these individuals know what exactly it is they want to produce but, their diagnoses makes it very difficult to do so (Halpern Goldfarb, ... • 15. Violent Media And Media Violence There are various explanations for the causes of violence. This remains significant because violence leads to many criminal activities in society today. For example, certain crimes such as assault or robbery involve the use of violence because the victim is injured or harmed in a physical way. The purpose of the study is to examine whether young adults who watch violent television programs are more likely to possess violent attitudes, which promotes aggressive behaviour like uttering threats or assault. This conveys that it s important to study the association between violent media and violent attitudes because it provides insight towards the increasing crime rates that occur in society. The rationale for conducting research on media violence provides explanations for the occurrences of violent crimes because violent media is considered a significant factor for violent attitudes, which leads to various types of violent crimes committed by adolescents and young adults. Other significant studies have expressed their interest in the topic regarding the media s influence on violence. The study The Influence of Media Violence on Youth examines whether violent videogames increases the probability of individuals engaging in violent activities such as uttering threats and physical assaults (Anderson et al., 2003). The research involves participants such as children because they are more likely to be associated with violent media such as videogames (Anderson et al., 2003). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Benefits Of Roundabouts In The City Of Yucaipa In the city of Yucaipa, back in 2014, a plan was approved for the city to make several roundabouts to replace stop lights and stop signs along residential areas. They made a plan that would place 5 of these roundabouts along Avenue E and a few along Yucaipa Blvd. the plan would, in the end, cost them around $2.3 million (according to a 2013 estimate). Now Calimesa wants to follow in its footsteps and build 6 new roundabouts along County Line Rd. along with a road restoration project that will cost well over $16.4 million to complete. If they can t afford it, then they need to invest more to bring businesses and services for the people. That way, they can afford to make such a huge project plan. The mentality that roundabouts would attract tourists is the wrong one to have. They would not earn back the money that they cost the city. And while they lessen the impact of car accidents on the road, they cause more accidents as people are unfamiliar on how to enter or go through a roundabout. And they are inconvenient or maybe even intimidating for pedestrians with their design. On top of that, they are disadvantages with the many blind spots that are created, either from the driver s focus or the inconvenient decorative islands in the center of the intersection. Why are we even making roundabouts then? I don t know. Well actually I do have an idea why, but it just seems illogical to me. Possible solution number 1) Just don t build the roundabouts. Simple. Well, not really, the leftover funds need to go somewhere after all. There is a call to improve the roads in this small town in Calimesa, and after the last sudden burst of rainfall we received recently, the roads are in some really bad shape. • 19. Questions On The Doctrine Of Discovery Essay Thomas Berumen AIS 304 Professor Harjo October 18, 2016 AIS 304 Midterm 1. The Doctrine of Discovery was a concept used to further colonization and strip land from the indigenous people. According to Class 7 Lecture, it allowed colonial powers to colonize the land that they discovered even if indigenous people already lived there. The doctrine provides title to the nation making the discovery of the land even if the soil is inhabited by natives. Provided the land excluded European sovereign . When European powers establish rule in what is now the United States the government was given the ownership of the lands until they felt the need use of the land. The Indians currently residing in the lands were just inhabitants. The doctrine set for by Chief Justice Marshall was set forth to mimic colonial powers and prevent further European expansion on U.S. soils. Following the Johnson v McIntosh case, it established a preventive measure of Indians and Indian tribes from selling the land to anyone but the United States government. This was to prevent European colonies to develop in the United States. The doctrine was important for the development and expansion of colonial powers, but the implementation was a negative effect by forcefully taking lands from the indigenous. It disowned the culture and lifestyles of millions. Rationally it is a shame that the government chose to deny aboriginal title owners as they should have been allowed to keep their land. However, antiseptics are applied to the epidermis (usually hands) of organisms to decrease the chance of receiving an illness. More than one in every ten babies is born too early. Preterm birth complications are the leading cause of death among children under five years of age. Premature birth has a wide range of effects. All babies born before thirty seven weeks gestation are at risk for complications that can have a lasting effect on the growing baby and family. At twenty four weeks, the survival rate of a premature baby is only fifty percent. The many different causes and effects that premature birth can have on the baby, his/her future development and family will be further discussed in this paper. At birth a baby is considered one of the following: Premature (less than thirty seven weeks gestation), Full term (thirty seven to forty two weeks gestation), Post term (born after forty two weeks gestation) (Kaneshiro). A premature baby is not fully developed due to exiting the womb prior to reaching full term. Due to this complication, premies will spend time in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) if the doctor deems it necessary. While Nick attempts to navigate his life outside of combat, Hemingway takes him on a journey of reconciliation and self discovery. Embarking on his journey into nature, Nick submerges himself in a life of what seems to be pure tranquility. In Nick s eyes, society subjects people to violence, but nature is inherently good. Leaving behind the burned town of Seney and choosing to enter the natural world, Nick [feels] he [has] left everything behind, the need for thinking, the need to write, other needs. It was all back of him, (Hemingway 179). Hemingway subtly suggests that Nick has been plagued with an endless list of realities that have consumed him for far too long. Nick s escape from reality provides brief moments of solitude and rest from his bustling world. Amidst the burned and destroyed town of Seney a river remains untouched, providing a symbol of hope. While Seney seems broken, the possibility of new beginnings and life exists. This binary is parallel in Nick s life as well. Nick actively chooses to pursue new beginnings instead of dwelling on the memories of his past, but is quickly reminded that he cannot escape the parts of his life that play a large part in his identity. Attempting to escape the pressing realities of life back home, Nick notices that the problems he internalizes in his own life are apparent in nature as well. Your dentist will take your preferences into account when deciding what is best. You may want to avoid a general anesthetic at all costs. On the other hand, if the idea of bone surgery bothers you, you may prefer to be put to sleep. The Procedure First, the dentist has to access your bone. If your bone has an irregular shape, the dentist will contour it first. By shaving off the raised areas, the bone will hold onto the implant more evenly and will be stronger. Drilling into your bone requires careful precision. The hole created in your bone has to be the exact depth and width needed for the implant rod. The dentist will start with a tiny drill bit and use progressively larger bits until the hole is the right size. The hole is measured periodically with a measuring pin.
