Scenario: You see someone being bullied in another class. The
best option is to make adults aware of this. The worst option is
to physically attack or threaten the bully.
Can you write down and name a third option? Your objective is
to stop the bullying.

2.  ‘Awareness is power’.
 Open green books on pages 87-90. We’ll begin
on 87.
 After each reading, we’ll take a note and
answer a question.
 The homework will be from your blue book
then.

3. 1. Join a human rights organisation.
 (Note) Raising awareness is the most
important thing in CSPE.
 (Answer Question) Can you name and write a
problem which an adult like Mr. Dunne might not
be aware off, which affects students, kids or
yourself?

4. 2. Volunteer in your community.
 (Note) The bare minimum of work will
result in the bare minimum of results.

5. 3. Fundraise for a cause.
 (Note) The Garry Kelly Cancer Centre costs
E350,000 a year to keep running. 90% of that
comes from donations.

6. 4. Organise /Participate in a protest.
 (Note) You protest something because it is
unfair or harmful and not because you just
don’t like it.

7. 5. Organise /sign a petition.
 (Note) A petition is a written protest to
change something. Signing your name
shows you agree with the protest.

8. 6. Raise Awareness about an issue.
 (Note) Art, public speaking and computer
skills are very important in getting a
message across.

9. 7. Lobbying.
 (Note) Politicians work for you. You have
the right and responsibility to ask them to
do things.

things to small things, what could you ask?

10.  Blue Book pages 40 and 41
 Fill the space – argue your point.
 The questions are multiple ‘correct’ answers
so if you can explain your argument, you
will get the marks.
