 What does CSPE stand for? C S P E
 Civic, Social and Political Education.
 What is wellbeing?
 (extra marks for: mentally, emotionally, socially, physically.)
 Why is wellbeing important?
 Being well yourself improves the world.
 I need a volunteer to write news headlines on the
whiteboard as we share what news stories we found.
Recap – raise your hands
 We shall read page 3 and 4 of the green book to understand
what being human means and discuss key words like
diversity, dignity and human rights.
 I shall tell you exactly how I want you to answer all
questions for the next three years, and you shall practise
with questions from the blue book
Plan for today
 Let’s read pages 3 and 4, which tell you about being human;
that we are all different and how that makes the world a better
place to live. Then take down the notes.
 (Note) Diversity: being different (which is good).
 (Note) Human Dignity: self-respect and self-worth.
 (Note) Human Rights: Freedoms to develop.
 (Note) Universal: Applies to everyone, no matter what.
 (Note) Responsible: a duty to deal with something or be
blamed.
 (Think): What rights do you think you have?
Green Book (Page 3 and 4) Reading and Notes
 Go to page 4 in the blue book. There is an ‘infographic’ with
tells you about 20 things and you are looking for just 5 of them
to answer the questions on page 5.
 IMPORTANT - when answering questions, do FULL SENTENCE
ANSWERS. This means writing the words from the questions
into your answer.
 For example – Q.1. How many non-Irish nationals were living in
Ireland in 2016?
 Answer:….. (X number)…. non-Irish nationals were living in
Ireland in 2016. (Also, Q.4. is your opinion)

  • 2. Warm-up – Pens, Paper, Journal, Books. You will be shown the music video of an English singer who calls himself ‘Rag'n'Bone Man’. Write 2 sentences. (1) I see............   • 4.  What does CSPE stand for? C S P E  Civic, Social and Political Education.  What is wellbeing?  (extra marks for: mentally, emotionally, socially, physically.)  Why is wellbeing important?  Being well yourself improves the world.  I need a volunteer to write news headlines on the whiteboard as we share what news stories we found. Recap – raise your hands
  • 5.  We shall read page 3 and 4 of the green book to understand what being human means and discuss key words like diversity, dignity and human rights.  I shall tell you exactly how I want you to answer all questions for the next three years, and you shall practise with questions from the blue book Plan for today
  • 6.  Let’s read pages 3 and 4, which tell you about being human; that we are all different and how that makes the world a better place to live. Then take down the notes.  (Note) Diversity: being different (which is good).  (Note) Human Dignity: self-respect and self-worth.  (Note) Human Rights: Freedoms to develop.  (Note) Universal: Applies to everyone, no matter what.  (Note) Responsible: a duty to deal with something or be blamed.  (Think): What rights do you think you have? Green Book (Page 3 and 4) Reading and Notes
  • 7.  Go to page 4 in the blue book. There is an ‘infographic’ with tells you about 20 things and you are looking for just 5 of them to answer the questions on page 5.  IMPORTANT - when answering questions, do FULL SENTENCE ANSWERS. This means writing the words from the questions into your answer.  For example – Q.1. How many non-Irish nationals were living in Ireland in 2016?  Answer:….. (X number)…. non-Irish nationals were living in Ireland in 2016. (Also, Q.4. is your opinion) Blue reflective journal, page 4-5, Activity 1
