Modern Policing Grew Out Of Private Security Concerns
Modern policing grew out of private security concerns. Crime prevention is a major issue in our
society. A greater burden is being placed on public law enforcement to respond to crisis situations. As
a result, the consumer is turning to the private security industry to help protect our communities and
businesses. Private security agencies are one of the fastest growing entities in our country. The
demand for security services is growing at stellar 6% rate a year in our post 9/11 climate. This trend
shows no sign of abating. There are many different actors within a private security firm, license
private patrol officers, private investigators, alarm company s operators, bodyguards, and executive
protection agents.
Starting a security company requires specific state and federal laws to be followed. You must possess
experience in the field, take the necessary training courses, and be responsible for training your
employees. All owners or managers of security companies must meet and maintain certain
requirements. Managers in charge of the private security related businesses must be a DCA qualified
manager. Security agencies are regularly required to complete numerous different financial statements
for a variety of reasons. Among the more common financial statements are a cash flow statement, and
a shareholder s equity statement.
In order to fully understand all concepts and strategies in starting a private security service, our paper
will touch on some of the basic points to

How Is Diction Used In A Deferred Dream By Langston Hughes
What happens to a dream, Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun or fester like a sore and then run? This
is the first stanza in A Deferred Dream a poem by Langston Hughes. But what does he mean to Dry up
like a raisin in the sun or fester like a sore and then run? Smile s, imagery and diction were all just
used in one simple line of his poem and it has you wondering, what does that mean? Various amounts
of smile s and imagery were used in this poem even diction. If the author didn t use diction this poem
wouldn t have rhymed. Diction is all about word choice, and this entire poem is well picked words and
references. When it says does it dry up like a raisin or fester like a sore it uses a smile to compare
drying up to a raisin in the

The Impact Of Media Exposure On Self-Esteem And Body...
Russello, Salenna (2009) The Impact of Media Exposure on Self Esteem and Body Satisfaction in
Men and Women, Journal of Interdisciplinary Undergraduate Research: Vol. 1 , Article 4.
This collegiate journal entry explains a study that investigates the effects of media coverage on men
and women s body satisfaction and self confidence. The author writes about the exceptionally
ridiculous standards of physical attractiveness for society to live by. Women are pressured to appear
slim and toned while men are expected to be more muscular and toned. Rusello writes that media can
affect people differently more than others, and that there are ways to help them change those negative
effects of the social media environment. This gave me a more informed perspective that people will
react differently to social media, even though we shouldn t allow the media from pressuring change in
ourselves.
Wynn, Brittani D. The Impact of Media on Body Images of Young Women.
opensiuc.lib.siu.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1609 context=gs_rp.
This study shows that social media can not only affect women now but also in their adolescent stages
regarding their ideal body image and their connection to the influence of the media. This study is
divided into five different parts, from the modifications done to models to the different kinds of
marketing strategies used in advertisements to portray certain expectations. The second part, discusses
how the media is an important part of our culture, and how

Narrative Essay About Disneyland
My summer was really great this year, we went to Disneyland for my brother and I s birthday. It was a
really long drive to get to the Disney hotel that we were staying at, but it was totally worth the wait
though. While we were driving we saw a bunch of beautiful and fascinating things. We left earlier in
the Morning so we got to see the sunrise, and let me tell you, it was amazing, one of the prettiest
things I had ever seen. We stopped by a few places at the beginning of our trip so we could pick up
some snacks to eat on the way. My brother, Kristopher, fell asleep within the first hour we were
driving. I was listening to music, looking out the window, and snacking on a small bag of Takis. My
dad surprised us on the way when we went to go eat pizza from Little Caesars. I know that doesn t
sound like much of a surprise but I absolutely love Little Caesars pizza. I probably like it more than
most people to be honest. We finished most of our pizza taking the leftover pieces with us back to the
car. I was feeling pretty tired so I dozed off while listening to Shawn Mendes. I woke up to a louder
song blasting through my headphones. I turned down my volume and switched the song. I checked my
Google Maps and it said that we were about halfway to the park. After than I checked my Snapchat
and opened a Snap from Gabby. The bright pink words across a picture of her and her sister read, Can
t wait to get to Florida! I quickly take a picture of myself with my Florida, Lifeguard

Essay Comparing Beowulf And Obama
What Characteristics do you think about when you describe a hero? Usually people think about
selflessness, Bravery, and Confidence. A person doesn t have to have superpowers, super strength, or
the ability to fly to be a hero. One Modern day hero is President Barack Obama the 44th President of
America and also the first African American President. Like President Obama, Beowulf Leader of the
Geat warriors he is headsmart and a strong leader. Although The two heros Live in two different time
periods and only on is a warrior. Beowulf and President Obama are both Courageous. Both Beowulf
and President Obama are heros of their eras. The birth of Beowulf s epic after the fall of the western
Roman Empire to Germanic tribes in the 5th century AD , Europe entered a chaotic period.[page.31]
During this time period Europe needed a strong warrior, and Beowulf rose to the Occasion. Before

Both Beowulf and President Obama are courageous in many ways. Beowulf deplays countless acts of
being courageous throughout the whole poem. His first act of courage was when he travel to Harot to
fight Grendel and his mother. He leaped into the lake, would not wait for anyone s answer.[450] He
didn t have to do that he could have not helped or ran away when attacked like a coward like his
soldiers. Much like Beowulf President Obama showed countless acts of courage throughout his
presidency. He didn t have to go against the odds and run for president but he did. He also didn t have
to openly support gay marriage and Remove the don t ask don t tell act in the Military. Beowulf
showed more acts of courage when he fought a dragon at 70 years old. I ve never known fear, as a

The Religious Believer s Explanation for the Existence of...
The problem of evil and suffering presents a real problem to the religious believer because it compels
them to accept conflicting claims that are logically impossible to reconcile. Religious followers often
question the nature of God and whether or not he is the type of God we are led to believe. St
Augustine said that if God cannot stop evil and suffering he is not all powerful if he will not stop evil
and suffering then he is not all good. However Augustine did not actually believe this to be true he set
it out as something which he was going to solve. Surely God can do all that is logically possible if he
created the world out of nothing. If God is supposedly all knowing then he should know how to stop
evil and suffering. If God is all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
J.L. Mackie a modern philosopher had a similar approach to Hume and he believed that God could not
be both omnibenevolent and omnipotent if evil exists. He labelled this the inconsistent triad and
believed that you could not have all three conflicting claims at once.
Flew another modern philosopher looked at the possibility that God may not love us. He believed the
biggest challenge to the believer is allowing the challenge of God s existence and demanding an
answer. He said it is not enough to just say that God s love is different to ours because it is the
simplest explanation. If we do this we are just qualifying God s love as opposed to demanding a
solution and finding good reason why he should not intervene.
A possible solution to the problem of evil is the Augustinian theodicy which is based on Genesis. St
Augustine argued that in genesis 1 God is seen as creating a world that is perfectly good and free from
defect. He said that this was clearly outlined in G1:31 where it says God saw what he had made and it
was very good. He believed that evil itself is not a thing or substance therefore God did not create it.
Augustine argue that evil was the going wrong of something good and as a result Augustine termed
evil as a privation of a good that did not come from God but entities with free will such as angels and
humans who were willing to give

Romanticism During The Romantic Period
The Romantic Period
Romanticism (1820 1900) in music was brought to the world during the early nineteenth century. This
music stressed emotion, imagination, and individualism. The Romantic period was about freedom of
expression and breaking away from time honored conventions.
This period in time had influenced many, or even all of the arts. Painters used bolder and more
brilliant colors in their works. Also, they had preferred dynamic motion to gracefully balanced poses.
Poetry was also changed during the Romantic Period. Emotional subjectivity was a basic quality in
every type of art during this time. Many artists had become romantics and had become drawn to the
realm of fantasy: the unconscious, the irrational, and the world of dreams. Romantics were fascinated
with the Middle Ages, the time of chivalry and romance. What neoclassicists had thought of to be the
dark ages , the romantics had cherished.
The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
None of these were entirely to replace the Romantic impulse. Hard bitten naturalism in fiction and
film coexists today with sweeping romanticism; there are large audiences for both. The contemporary
vogue for Victorian designs is just one of many examples of the frequent revivals of Romantic tastes
and styles that have recurred throughout the twentieth century.
Looking back over the list of characteristics discussed above one can readily see that despite the fact
that Romanticism was not nearly as coherent a movement as the Enlightenment, and lacked the sort of
programmatic aims the latter professed, it was even more successful in changing history changing the
definition of what it means to be human.
Romanticism
The romantic period emphasised the self, creativity, imagination and the value of art. This is in
contrast to the Enlightenment emphasis on Rationalism and

The Doctrine Of The Faith
Mavrodes begins by stating the doctrine of the faith, which is that God is omnipotent (capable of
anything). There has been attempts to refute the omnipotence of God by proposing things he cannot
do. One example Mavrodes gives is the creation of a square circle.
In paragraph two Mavrodes goes on to highlight the counterarguments to these attempts by a St.
Thomas. St. Thomas wanted to clarify that the anything that we refer to when we talk about God s
omnipotence should be, construed to refer only to objects, actions, or states of affairs whose
descriptions are not self contradictory. Thomas goes on to say that only things whose nonexistence
might plausibly be attributed to a lack of power would fit under this category. Mavrodes ... Show more

Mavrodes now decides to state that despite this difference, the question of the stone is open to the
same solution as the problem of the square circle. The question of the stone doesn t work because it
depends on asking whether God can perform a self contradictory thing. The answer that he cannot do
such a thing does not damage God s doctrine of omnipotence.
Either God s omnipotence is true, or he lacks such omnipotence. If we are to assume that he is not
omnipotent, the problem of a stone too heavy for God to lift wouldn t contradict itself. If we say that
God is able or unable to create such a stone, his omnipotence may be in question. This too is no more
than an assumption much like the one we started with. Mavrodes then questions whether or not the
assumption of the omnipotence of God always leads to a reductio, when in fact, in may give us a
feasible answer.
When one assumes that God is omnipotent, a stone too heavy to lift then becomes contradictory, as it
then becomes what Mavrodes refers to as, a stone which cannot be lifted by Him whose power is
sufficient for lifting anything. The stone this scenario describes contradicts itself and is entirely
impossible, so we can check it at the door when it comes to questioning God s omnipotence. Not
being capable of logical existence, it s failure to do so can t be due to a lack in the power of God. It is
the omnipotence of

Child Labour Essay
Child labour is the practice of having children engage in economic activity, on part or full time basis.
The practice deprives children of their childhood, and is harmful to their physical and mental
development. Poverty, lack of good schools and growth of informal economy are considered as the
important causes of child labour in India.
The 2001 national census of India estimated the total number of child labour, aged 5 14, to be at 12.6
million. In 2001, out of a 12.6 million, about 12 million children in India were in a hazardous job.
UNICEF estimates that India with its larger population has the highest number of labourers in the
world less than 14 years of age, while sub Saharan African countries have the highest percentage of
children who are deployed as child labour. International Labour Organisation estimates that
agriculture at 60 percent is the largest employer of child labour in India, while United Nation s Food
and Agriculture Organisation estimates 70% of child labour is deployed in agriculture and related
activities. Outside of agriculture, child labour is observed in almost all informal sectors of the Indian
economy.
Companies including Gap, Primark, Monsanto and others have been criticised for child labour in their
products. The companies claim they have strict policies against selling products made by underage
kids, but there are many links in a supply chain making it difficult to police them all. In 2011, after
three years of Primark s effort, BBC

Child Prostitution Should Not Be Punished For Their Children
By: Aroob Fatima
Do you remember your childhood? You must be recalling stories of afternoons on the playground with
your friends or that heavenly feeling of eating freezies on a hot, summer day. Did the memory of child
prostitution run through your mind? No? How about having your rights and innocence completely
stripped away from you? About ten million children are involved in prostitution worldwide (B.Willis,
2002), with India consisting of one million child prostitutes; forty percent the country s total
prostitution population (CNN, 2009). In most cases, children are kidnapped and forced into
prostitution or take part in what is known as survival sex to provide basic needs for their family. But
what happens when a child prostitute finally comes across a police officer whom they believe have
come to their rescue? They get arrested. Children forced into the sex trade should not be punished for
their actions, but instead, should be provided with assistance to cope with the severe mental trauma
they face.
Many government officials and police officers don t recognize child prostitutes as victims of sexual
abuse but treated as offenders who need to be punished for their crime. According to a 2011 FBI
report, about two hundred thousand U.S. children are at risk of being exploited and trafficked for sex.
The majority of these children are girls between the ages of twelve and fourteen and in foster care.
The government suggests that child welfare systems should be

The Decrease Of Forest Cover And Forest Resources
Introduction
Bangladesh is one of the most densely populated countries of the world with a population more than
150 million. The rate of population increase is decreasing in Bangladesh but still it is high enough to
create immense pressure on different sectors like agriculture, forestry, economy etc. To fulfill the
demand of increasing population more agricultural lands, buildup areas, settlements, roads and
highways are necessary. These development activities will definitely corroborate the decrease of forest
cover and forest resources in Bangladesh. It is evident that global climate is changing and Bangladesh
is one of the most vulnerable countries in the world due to climate change. In the near future
temperature will increase, sea level will rise, and incessant rainfall events will increase in a whole
there will be an accentuation of extreme events. These extreme events will affect the forest resources
and biodiversity of Bangladesh. For example only 0.5 meter sea level rise will inundate the whole
Sundarbans. So for ensuring habitat and sustainable environment for the present and future
generations of the country amelioration of forest and forest recourses, conservation and identification
of biodiversity and increase of forest cover up to idea limit are necessary. Forest Resources in

The Impact Of Social Media On Identity Development
At this current moment, there are 7.5 billion people living on earth and we all still feel the need to
belong. Psychologists say this is a normal feeling everyone gets; teenagers are at the most vulnerable
stage of personal development, which means they are affected more than other ages. This is because
they are still in the stages of developing individualism or a sense of self esteem. Widespread bullying
is becoming a huge problem in schools and it can be traced back to a common problem social media.
Social Media s impact on identity development is a huge issue concerning adolescents across the
nation because of all the pictures or status s people post and the judgement they face.
The number of hours per day spent on the internet by adolescents is not good for their confidence.
According to pewinternet.org, since 2000 the number of people, ages 18 29, who use the internet went
from 52% 90%. This means almost all the United States are using the internet daily. In the last year,
the rate increased 22%. Social media is one of the fastest growing sources on the internet right now.
Their advertising budget is projected to reach nearly $36 billion dollars globally this year. No wonder
why kids are so involved in it; so much money has been spent so all they see on ads of social media
sites.
The ads create so much buzz for products, ideas, and personas that kids can t seem to get away from it.
Sites like Instagram have ads with these very attractive people and it gives kids the

An Introduction Of Analgesic And Anti Inflammatory
CHAPTER 1
Introduction and Background
Introduction
Analgesic and anti inflammatory are often used in the Philippines. They manage pain by altering other
afferent input. Anti inflammatory are used to mobilize the body s defense and destroys
microorganisms, so tissue repair can proceed. Inflammatory response lasts longer, and drugs are used
to suppress the symptoms that cause inflammation.
Plants have first been discovered throughout human history as a source of food and energy. The use of
them as medicinal agents predates written human history. At present, plants are now rampant sources
of various types of medicines and remedies, whether they are pharmaceutically manufactured or used
naturally. The term medicinal plants are referred to as the plants themselves, while plant medicines are
the pharmaceutical preparations prepared from those plants. (Kilham, C. and Helene, Z., 2012).
Abelmoschus esculentus L., commonly known as okra or ladies finger , is a substantial vegetable
common among Filipino homes. The pods of okra are usually gathered while they are green, tender
and at immature stage. The plant is cultivated throughout the tropical and warm temperate regions
around the world for their fibrous fruits or pods .

Ground Water Contamination and Household Response in...
There are two sources of drinking water, surface water and ground water and they are each managed,
monitored and regulated differently even though the actual water systems are interrelated and
integrated. The state of Missouri has historically had plenty of high quality fresh water sources; in the
northern half of the state most of the drinking water comes from surface water while the majority of
the southern population gets water from underground aquifers (Missouri Department of Natural
Resources, 2010). The Missouri River and its alluvium wells provide more than half of the state s
residents with drinking water as most of the urban centers in the state are located along its course.

The contamination was ultimately found to be Escherichia coli 0157:H7 commonly referred to as E.
coli or EC0157. Investigations by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Missouri
state and county public health departments determined the most probable source of contamination was
leakage of sewage near broken water main lines that then entered the drinking water distribution
system (Swerdlow et al, 1992). According to the report by Swerdlow et al (1992), this particular
incident had the distinction of being not only the largest incidence of EC0157 infection at that time but
also the first due to a multiple resistant organism, and the first documented to be transmitted by water
(Swerdlow et al, 1992, p. 818). Testing of water taken directly from the wells in Cabool revealed the
water contamination did not occur in the ground water itself but was initiated in and then distributed
via the water supply system. The Cabool contamination could have been prevented had the town
followed the recommended standard procedure of hyperchlorination immediately after water line
breaks or repairs (Swerdlow et el, 1992). It is common for water systems to have small leaks but they
usually do not result in contamination as the positive flow of water pressure prevents inward
infiltration of the system but when there are breaks in the lines and pressure is lost, contamination can
flow back into the water lines.

Cliff Bradshaw s Cabaret
Cabaret was set in the late 1920 s and was supposed to be a satire of the change of thinking and the
rise of the Nazi party. Cliff Bradshaw was supposed to represent the Americans and how they had
changed their ways of thinking. An example of this from the play was when Bradshaw was trying to
convince Sally Bowles to leave Germany with him because of the Nazi Party. On the other hand, Sally
Bowles was supposed to represent all of the individuals who did not want to see the changes in the
world and those who wanted to be oblivious to what was happening. This is also depicted in the same
scenario because Sally had no desire to leave Germany even though some of her fiends were being
targeted by the Nazis. The play does not focus much on the Nazi Party, however when the Party was
mentioned it because prevalent that the country was accepting to the beliefs of Hitler. This is shown
when Ernst Ludwig starts to bring in money for the Party. Ernst Ludwig also recruits Cliff Bradshaw
to help the Nazi Party, however when Bradshaw figures out what he is doing, he quits. When
Bradshaw quit helping the Nazi Party, he showed how the Americans felt about the objectives of the

Introduction
Purpose: The purpose of this Physics Lab is to investigate what factors determine the amount of
flexion of the cantilever. Hence, the objective is to establish a relationship between the length of a
cantilever, which may give some insight into the physics of cantilevers.
Hypothesis: If one increases the length of a cantilever, one would expect there to be an increase in
deflection/flexion of the cantilever. Similarly, if one increases the mass of the load, one would expect
there to be an increase in the deflexion/flexion of the cantilever. In addition, I predict that
proportionality will also occur ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
* Dependent Variable: The deflection/flexion of the cantilever in metres. This will be measured
indirectly by measuring the initial height of the bottom of the cantilever with no mass added (which is
equal to the height of the table) and the new height of the bottom of the cantilever after each trial,
which will be measured with mass added. Hence, the difference between these heights is equal to the
deflection/flexion of the cantilever. The material and other physical properties of the cantilever will be
controlled by using the same yardstick as a cantilever for each trial.
Data Collection and Processing
My experiment is divided into two parts; experiment A (involving the relationship between flexion
and the mass of the load) and experiment B (involving the relationship between the flexion and the
length of the cantilever).
Below are two tables in which I have recorded the data which I obtained during the experiment. The
first table reflects the Relationship between the deflection/flexion of the cantilever and the mass of the
load and the second table reflects the relationship between the flexion of the cantilever and the length
of the cantilever.

the problem here is that regardless of the governments regulations purposes and policies, there still isn

Hazing And Sororities
In August of this year, hundreds of thousands of 18 year old young men and women begin their
college careers. These students have nothing but hope and optimism as they start to venture out on
their own. As they start to meet new people, experience life on their own, and engage in a rigorous
curriculum, many students find themselves looking for a social outlet. NCAA sports, club sports,
church group, business club, architecture club, honors society, African American youth group,
Hispanic youth group and thousands of other social/professional clubs surround campus to help
students flourish in their new home. These social outlets allow for students to meet people with similar
interests and aspirations, but they also challenge students to try new ... Show more content on

The techniques that are used by all fraternities and sororities are called rushing and hazing. Rushing is
the act of popularizing a given fraternity or sorority to attract new members. As mentioned in the
introduction, the alternate forms of rushing cover a large spectrum, but they all have the same goal: be
the best to attract the best. Hazing is another variable method closely aligned with fraternities and
sororities, but hazing for different fraternities and sororities can have vastly different outcomes.
Hazing, in its most simple and basic form, is the imposition of strenuous or complicated tasks as a
form of initiation. In contrast to popular belief, a lot of normal activity is considered hazing. For
example, a college football team might tell the freshman that they are responsible for cleaning up
loose garbage on the field after a practice. As mild as this example might be, hazing can be taken to an
extreme and often has poor outcomes that can severely damage the psyche of an individual. However,
a sense of tradition and continuation continually inspires hazing among social groups, but fraternities
and sororities especially. Hazing has become a form a bonding that allow new initiates to become
closer as a brotherhood or sisterhood; these two both being the most important part of fraternities and
sororities. To create an everlasting bond, Greek organizations promote ultimate a familial intimacy
that is unparalleled by other social groups. It is in this strive for brotherhood and sisterhood that
mistakes are made and people begin to

Justice And Justice In Hamlet
The definition of justice can mean many distinctive things. However it can make people forgive, or get
revenge. I think it just depends on the situation. In my Final Essay, I m going to answer this question
for you, Can justice and forgiveness go hand in hand? There are numerous amounts of examples I will
show you, and one of them even includes a film called Simon Birch. Justice is what you fight and earn
properly. Revenge is naïve, and can be hurtful, if somebody hurts you, handle it maturely and
respectfully.
The well known play by Shakespeare, Hamlet; is one example of justice and forgiveness. Hamlets
uncle, Claudius kills his own brother, Hamlet Sr. He puts poison in his ear while he was dozing.
Hamlet finds out and doesn t tell anyone, everyone think he has gone mad, even his own mother,
Gertrude. Claudius marries Gertrude and becomes king. Hamlet continues to make a play about how
Claudius killed Hamlet Sr. and Claudius feels uncomfortable and leaves. During the whole play,
Hamlet tries to get revenge on Claudius in whatever possible way he can. However, Claudius
convinces everybody that Hamlet is lying about what he has been saying about him. At the end of the
play, Hamlet and Claudius duel to the death. Claudius gets wounded and Hamlet feels like he has won
and that he finally got revenge and justice for his father. So, in that story justice and forgiveness can
go hand in hand, it s all about how you handle the situation.
My second example is from a movie called

A Woman Governing Over Texas
No one would had imagined a woman governing over Texas, a state ruled by conservative white
cowboys. Ann Richards was the second woman to become the Lieutenant Governor of Texas in 1990.
She became the hero of minorities, woman, gay men, and lesbians, and worked for a New Texas
where opportunities and power would be given to those groups. Ann Richards is known as the most
efficient person in a line of long Texas progressives who fought for control over Texas when the state
was a Democratic Stronghold . Her loss against Gorge W. Bush after her first term as governor, was a
strong indication that the generations of Democrats ruling Texas had ended.
Before Ann Richards made a career in politics, she had a career as a mother and wife. Ann was born in
Waco, Texas on September 1 of 1933. Waco back then was segregated, had strong religious ideas, and
its people where known as being strict conservatives. Ann met her future husband in 1949 when Ann
and David where on their senior year in Waco High. Once they graduated high school in 1950, Ann
wanted to leave Waco and follow David to Austin where David was studying to become a lawyer at
the University of Texas. Ann s mother, Eleanor, didn t seem that it was a good idea for her baby girl

education. They got married in 1953 and four years later, Ann was pregnant with her first daughter,

Essay Homelessness in Canada
Throughout this paper I will be discussing the issue of homelessness and how it is steadily becoming a
more serious problem as time progresses. I will discuss issues that surround homelessness such as the
NIMBY, not in my backyard, issue and how it is causing the homeless to not receive the help that they
need. This is an issue that needs to change, but due to NIMBYism, it is very difficult create such
change.
One diverse population that has continued to increase over the quarter of a century is composed of
people who are homeless (Baggerly Zalaquett, 2006, p.155). Homelessness has become a growing
problem in society because more and more people are finding themselves to be homeless and not
knowing where to turn. Many people do not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Change is inevitable and ongoing. Change occurs when a
sufficient number of forces heading in a similar direction coalesce to alter the behavior of the system
on which they are operating (Homan, 2008, p.50). If less people carried the NIMBY attitude, and
more people felt the need to help the homeless, then change would finally happen. When a community
comes together and agrees on a common goal, chances are they will reach that goal because everyone
has the passion to obtain it. There is power in numbers, and the more people who agree on change, the
more likely it will happen. This works the same way if everyone in the community carries the NIMBY
attitude; no one wants the homeless in the neighborhood, so the chances of a homeless shelter, or a
food bank, being placed in that neighborhood is very low. Since most neighborhoods carry this
attitude, it puts a serious limit on where to place these services.
Today ... there is a growing crisis of women s homelessness across Canada. The Canadian government
has failed to explore the causes of women s homelessness (Rahder, 2006, p.38). This growing issue is
caused by societies carelessness on the homelessness issue, and the lack of support to change it. Even
the Canadian government does not see it as an urgent issue to address because, as stated above, they
have even failed to

Frederick Douglas in his discourse, What to the Slaves, Is the Fourth of July , expressively sets up the

open door to dishearten the foundation of subjection. He esteemed it double dealing for the
abolitionist subjugation constituents to request that he convey such a discourse. Considering he was, a

Essay on Slave Ship
The Slave Ship by Marcus Rediker is a great fiction novel that describes the horrifying experiences of
Africans, seamen, and captains on their journey through the Middle Passage. The Middle Passage
marked the water way in the Atlantic Ocean between Africa and the Americas. The use of slaves
provided a great economy for the European countries due to the fact that these African slaves provided
free labor while cultivating sugar cane in the Caribbean and America. Rediker describes the slave
migration by saying, There exists no account of the mechanism for history s greatest forced migration,
which was in many ways the key to an entire phase of globalization (10). This tells us that African

Some Africans did not go without putting up a fight. For instance, Captain Tomba led many villagers
in burning huts and killing neighbors who cooperated with slave traders (14). He was later captured
and sent to the slave ship where he would be sold in the New World. The slaves also resisted by
refusing to eat. Most of them decided they would rather have death than to live the lifestyle on the
slave ships. The captains punished those who refused to eat by giving them lashes to the bare skin
until they decided to eat. Olaudah Equiano could be considered one of the more fortunate Africans
involved in the slave trade. Rediker uses Equiano to show how Africans were kidnapped and brought
to the slave ship. Equiano was home alone with his sister when he was snatched by a neighboring
enemy tribe. Tribes were kidnapping each other to sell to the slave traders for goods and even
weapons. Equiano was separated from his sister and sold off to merchants before actually boarding the
slave ship. He mentioned several times how he would rather die than be on the slave ship. He noticed
right away that the slave ship was equipped with nettings to prevent precisely such desperate rebellion
(109). Equiano went to the Americas and was left alone when none of the merchants purchased him.
He was sold to a captain and boarded his ship back to England. On this slave ship, he was treated
much better. He got to stay on the deck and eat better food than he had

The Advantage Of Homeschooling
Homeschooling is a type of education which children are taught at home, usually by their parents or
tutors, instead of in conventional public or private schools. While it is common in some countries,
especially America, according to the Hong Kong Education Bureau (2001), if parents stop their
children from attending school without valid reasons, they might be issued with an attendance order
requiring them to send their children back to school. However, as there were recently controversies
over the Hong Kong educational style and the work load of students, it may be time to think of
alternatives such as homeschooling. The effectiveness of homeschooling has been widely discussed.

There are possible results of homeschooled children having less social skills and academic knowledge

fundamental based on the flexible teaching methods and schedules so that children s interests and
quality of learning could be enhanced to increase the efficiency of education. However, if
homeschooling has to be popularized in Hong Kong, supportive measurements from different parties,
such as more in depth teaching courses from museums, more precisely trained experts or tutor for
teaching homeschoolers and more clear policy and rules set by the government to prevent neglecting

Pros And Cons Of Currency War
The phrase Currency War was used to describe the efforts of nations to devalue their own currencies,
in order to increase their competitiveness of export in the international market. In the context of the
reading, major players in the currency war from 2010 to 2013 included the U.S., European countries,
China, Switzerland, and Japan, each using different ways in devaluing the domestic currency: the US
printed a lot of money via quantitative easing (QE) ; China controlled capital inflows through
accumulating foreign currency reserve and undervaluing renminbi; Switzerland prohibited the franc to
appreciate further against the euro; and Japan announced the unlimited purchasing of government
bonds which increases money supply to counter economic downturn. Opponents contended that policy
decisions such as QE are beggar they neighbor actions while they eased domestic economic downturn
in the developed countries alone, the price of such behavior was to be shifted to the international
market and particularly, the emerging markets. Firstly, currency wars might lead to increased forms of

Roman Republic Democratic
The Roman constitution has three elements, but their share of power was so well regulated people are
still unsure whether the republic was a democracy (A democracy is a system of government in which
people have the right to empower rules, usually through representatives) or more of an aristocracy (a
form of government where the authority is held by the nobility) or a despotism (a form of government
where the ruler has absolute power). Rome s Republic lasted between 509 BC to 30 BC, which is 479
years. Rome had three divisions in their government that were the consul, senate, and the assembly.
Rome s Republic was not very democratic because they only elected prosperous, men, to hold high
spots in the office, voting rights were restricted to some individuals, and the magistrates were in
control of the military, but didn t actually fight in the military.
Indeed many of men in the Republic of Rome that voted were rich, lucrative men. How easily a small
number of urban residents registered in a rural tribe could determine the vote of that tribe is clear from
the small percentage of citizens who voted. This states that only a small number of urban residents
registered in a rural tribe could determine the vote because so few received the high spots in the office
which gave them the vote since they were near the area to vote. ... Show more content on

Cannibalism And Its Impact On Society
Introduction
Throughout the course of our evolution hominids have engaged in, what today would be considered
savage, inhumane practices, such as manslaughter, torture and mutilation (Lewis, Jurmain Kilgore,
2013). These actions today are considered almost taboo in society, however anthropologists who study
such behaviour and historians who have meticulously documented it are completely comfortable
divulging their work to the scientific community. Based on this acceptance, one would expect the
topic of cannibalism to be met with the same understanding within academia. Astoundingly though,
the discussion of cannibalism within our ancestral past encounters much controversy and is greatly
looked down upon within the general population (White, 2001). For those who study this highly
provocative practice, like paleoanthropologist Tim White, the idea of cannibalism is as significant to
the holistic study of anthropology as the idea of evolution is to the study of creationism. This
viewpoint is only one of many related to cannibalism today and is shared by a very small group of
individuals. The thought of cannibalism within modern society though comes with so much
displeasure to the point that conferences go to the length of entitling presentations such that the notion
of one human being consuming another is eluded altogether. An example of this tactic would be the
Multidisciplinary Approaches to Social Violence in the Prehispanic American Southwest symposium
which outlined

Susan B Anthony Analysis
In the early stages of the year 1873, social reformer, women s rights advocate, proponent of feminism,
Susan B. Anthony, shed s light on women being able to have a lawful right to vote, with an influential
speech, that leads to equality for women and men, this protest coordinates women and voting, but also
opens opportunity for women in everything that they do. Susan B. Anthony supports her claims in a
forceful manner, by explaining the amount of suffrage taking place in women s lives, as a result of the
lack of rights they have, she gives a valid example by explaining her arrest, for the alleged crime of
having voted at the last presidential election, without having a lawful right to vote , she states that she
did not commit a crime, she just exercised her rights as a citizen guaranteed by the National
Constitution. Anthony s purpose is to exert the rights for women that are in the Constitution, that are
being overlooked by the United States Government. She establishes a compelling tone for whom it
applies to. Susan B. Anthony is a credible feminist, reason being, she is a female that has first

Ethical Standard Of Ontological Equality
There are many standards to assess a society s level of equality. First, the ontological equality means
that all the people are equal in the eyes of God. Second, the equality of opportunity means that all
people should have the same opportunities for advancement, and it is judged into the same standards.
Third, the equality of condition means to be equal under the conditions that can help the people to
achieve their goals. Forth, equality of outcome is the idea about that everyone in a society should end
up with the same rewards regardless of his or her starting point, opportunities, or contributions.
In my opinion, the most ethical standard is the standard of ontological equality. In the past, it was

So it should use to make the differentiation means growth and promoted, not an excuse for injustice

Fiscal Policy as an Economic Stabilization Measure
FISCAL POLICY AS AN ECONOMIC STABILIZATION MEASURE
Fiscal Policy refers to the various decisions undertaken by the government regarding public
expenditures and revenue. There are a large number of sub policies that are encompassed by the fiscal
system. But all the policies can be broadly categorized as being either Public Expenditure or Public
Revenue . It can be said that the fiscal policy is a direct government intervention in the economic
processes of an economy.
The fiscal policy is very objective in nature, since it creates decisions that can be uniformly applied to
the entire economy or to a segment of the economy. The fiscal policy is considered to be more direct
than the monetary policy in its impact on the economy. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, it should be noted that the increase in the interest rate has brought about a disincentive for
the private sector within the economy. The private investors are dissuaded from borrowing the
investible funds lying with the financial system, since the ROI is too high and so unattractive for them.
Had the shifting of the IS curve not caused the interest rate to rise (i.e., the ROI was fixed at OI1),
then given the new IS situation, the economy would have been at equilibrium at E3 and the income
would have risen to OY3. Thus, we see that an expansionary fiscal policy has reduced the possibility
of creating income up to OY3 hence, Y2Y3 represents the amount of additional income lost i.e., the
Crowding out Effect .
Showing the COE with the help of AD function:
The fiscal policy, with a constant money supply, is less expansionary than it would have been if the
money supply were increased to keep the ROIs constant as income expanded. Hence, the fall in
income by Y1Y2 is the crowding out effect.
Showing the COE with the help of the PPF:
But as soon as an expansionary fiscal policy causes the government spending to increase to g2, the
private sector s spending falls to h2. Therefore, amh2h1 is indicative of the extent of the crowding out
effect of the fiscal policy.

  • 2. Modern Policing Grew Out Of Private Security Concerns Modern policing grew out of private security concerns. Crime prevention is a major issue in our society. A greater burden is being placed on public law enforcement to respond to crisis situations. As a result, the consumer is turning to the private security industry to help protect our communities and businesses. Private security agencies are one of the fastest growing entities in our country. The demand for security services is growing at stellar 6% rate a year in our post 9/11 climate. This trend shows no sign of abating. There are many different actors within a private security firm, license private patrol officers, private investigators, alarm company s operators, bodyguards, and executive protection agents. Starting a security company requires specific state and federal laws to be followed. You must possess experience in the field, take the necessary training courses, and be responsible for training your employees. All owners or managers of security companies must meet and maintain certain requirements. Managers in charge of the private security related businesses must be a DCA qualified manager. Security agencies are regularly required to complete numerous different financial statements for a variety of reasons. Among the more common financial statements are a cash flow statement, and a shareholder s equity statement. In order to fully understand all concepts and strategies in starting a private security service, our paper will touch on some of the basic points to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. How Is Diction Used In A Deferred Dream By Langston Hughes What happens to a dream, Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun or fester like a sore and then run? This is the first stanza in A Deferred Dream a poem by Langston Hughes. But what does he mean to Dry up like a raisin in the sun or fester like a sore and then run? Smile s, imagery and diction were all just used in one simple line of his poem and it has you wondering, what does that mean? Various amounts of smile s and imagery were used in this poem even diction. If the author didn t use diction this poem wouldn t have rhymed. Diction is all about word choice, and this entire poem is well picked words and references. • 5. The Impact Of Media Exposure On Self-Esteem And Body... Russello, Salenna (2009) The Impact of Media Exposure on Self Esteem and Body Satisfaction in Men and Women, Journal of Interdisciplinary Undergraduate Research: Vol. 1 , Article 4. This collegiate journal entry explains a study that investigates the effects of media coverage on men and women s body satisfaction and self confidence. The author writes about the exceptionally ridiculous standards of physical attractiveness for society to live by. Women are pressured to appear slim and toned while men are expected to be more muscular and toned. Rusello writes that media can affect people differently more than others, and that there are ways to help them change those negative effects of the social media environment. This gave me a more informed perspective that people will react differently to social media, even though we shouldn t allow the media from pressuring change in ourselves. Wynn, Brittani D. The Impact of Media on Body Images of Young Women. opensiuc.lib.siu.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1609 context=gs_rp. This study shows that social media can not only affect women now but also in their adolescent stages regarding their ideal body image and their connection to the influence of the media. This study is divided into five different parts, from the modifications done to models to the different kinds of marketing strategies used in advertisements to portray certain expectations. The second part, discusses how the media is an important part of our culture, and how ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Narrative Essay About Disneyland My summer was really great this year, we went to Disneyland for my brother and I s birthday. It was a really long drive to get to the Disney hotel that we were staying at, but it was totally worth the wait though. While we were driving we saw a bunch of beautiful and fascinating things. We left earlier in the Morning so we got to see the sunrise, and let me tell you, it was amazing, one of the prettiest things I had ever seen. We stopped by a few places at the beginning of our trip so we could pick up some snacks to eat on the way. My brother, Kristopher, fell asleep within the first hour we were driving. I was listening to music, looking out the window, and snacking on a small bag of Takis. My dad surprised us on the way when we went to go eat pizza from Little Caesars. I know that doesn t sound like much of a surprise but I absolutely love Little Caesars pizza. I probably like it more than most people to be honest. We finished most of our pizza taking the leftover pieces with us back to the car. I was feeling pretty tired so I dozed off while listening to Shawn Mendes. I woke up to a louder song blasting through my headphones. I turned down my volume and switched the song. I checked my Google Maps and it said that we were about halfway to the park. After than I checked my Snapchat and opened a Snap from Gabby. The bright pink words across a picture of her and her sister read, Can t wait to get to Florida! I quickly take a picture of myself with my Florida, Lifeguard ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. The Religious Believer s Explanation for the Existence of... The problem of evil and suffering presents a real problem to the religious believer because it compels them to accept conflicting claims that are logically impossible to reconcile. Religious followers often question the nature of God and whether or not he is the type of God we are led to believe. St Augustine said that if God cannot stop evil and suffering he is not all powerful if he will not stop evil and suffering then he is not all good. However Augustine did not actually believe this to be true he set it out as something which he was going to solve. Surely God can do all that is logically possible if he created the world out of nothing. If God is supposedly all knowing then he should know how to stop evil and suffering. If God is all ... He labelled this the inconsistent triad and believed that you could not have all three conflicting claims at once. Flew another modern philosopher looked at the possibility that God may not love us. He believed the biggest challenge to the believer is allowing the challenge of God s existence and demanding an answer. He said it is not enough to just say that God s love is different to ours because it is the simplest explanation. If we do this we are just qualifying God s love as opposed to demanding a solution and finding good reason why he should not intervene. A possible solution to the problem of evil is the Augustinian theodicy which is based on Genesis. St Augustine argued that in genesis 1 God is seen as creating a world that is perfectly good and free from defect. He said that this was clearly outlined in G1:31 where it says God saw what he had made and it was very good. He believed that evil itself is not a thing or substance therefore God did not create it. Augustine argue that evil was the going wrong of something good and as a result Augustine termed evil as a privation of a good that did not come from God but entities with free will such as angels and humans who were willing to give ... • 9. Romanticism During The Romantic Period The Romantic Period Romanticism (1820 1900) in music was brought to the world during the early nineteenth century. This music stressed emotion, imagination, and individualism. The Romantic period was about freedom of expression and breaking away from time honored conventions. This period in time had influenced many, or even all of the arts. Painters used bolder and more brilliant colors in their works. Also, they had preferred dynamic motion to gracefully balanced poses. Poetry was also changed during the Romantic Period. Emotional subjectivity was a basic quality in every type of art during this time. Many artists had become romantics and had become drawn to the realm of fantasy: the unconscious, the irrational, and the world of dreams. Romantics were fascinated with the Middle Ages, the time of chivalry and romance. What neoclassicists had thought of to be the dark ages , the romantics had cherished. The ... Hard bitten naturalism in fiction and film coexists today with sweeping romanticism; there are large audiences for both. The contemporary vogue for Victorian designs is just one of many examples of the frequent revivals of Romantic tastes and styles that have recurred throughout the twentieth century. Looking back over the list of characteristics discussed above one can readily see that despite the fact that Romanticism was not nearly as coherent a movement as the Enlightenment, and lacked the sort of programmatic aims the latter professed, it was even more successful in changing history changing the definition of what it means to be human. • 10. The Doctrine Of The Faith Mavrodes begins by stating the doctrine of the faith, which is that God is omnipotent (capable of anything). There has been attempts to refute the omnipotence of God by proposing things he cannot do. One example Mavrodes gives is the creation of a square circle. In paragraph two Mavrodes goes on to highlight the counterarguments to these attempts by a St. Thomas. St. Thomas wanted to clarify that the anything that we refer to when we talk about God s omnipotence should be, construed to refer only to objects, actions, or states of affairs whose descriptions are not self contradictory. Thomas goes on to say that only things whose nonexistence might plausibly be attributed to a lack of power would fit under this category. Mavrodes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mavrodes now decides to state that despite this difference, the question of the stone is open to the same solution as the problem of the square circle. The question of the stone doesn t work because it depends on asking whether God can perform a self contradictory thing. The answer that he cannot do such a thing does not damage God s doctrine of omnipotence. Either God s omnipotence is true, or he lacks such omnipotence. If we are to assume that he is not omnipotent, the problem of a stone too heavy for God to lift wouldn t contradict itself. If we say that God is able or unable to create such a stone, his omnipotence may be in question. This too is no more than an assumption much like the one we started with. Mavrodes then questions whether or not the assumption of the omnipotence of God always leads to a reductio, when in fact, in may give us a feasible answer. When one assumes that God is omnipotent, a stone too heavy to lift then becomes contradictory, as it then becomes what Mavrodes refers to as, a stone which cannot be lifted by Him whose power is sufficient for lifting anything. The stone this scenario describes contradicts itself and is entirely impossible, so we can check it at the door when it comes to questioning God s omnipotence. Not being capable of logical existence, it s failure to do so can t be due to a lack in the power of God. It is the omnipotence of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Child Labour Essay Child labour is the practice of having children engage in economic activity, on part or full time basis. The practice deprives children of their childhood, and is harmful to their physical and mental development. Poverty, lack of good schools and growth of informal economy are considered as the important causes of child labour in India. The 2001 national census of India estimated the total number of child labour, aged 5 14, to be at 12.6 million. In 2001, out of a 12.6 million, about 12 million children in India were in a hazardous job. UNICEF estimates that India with its larger population has the highest number of labourers in the world less than 14 years of age, while sub Saharan African countries have the highest percentage of children who are deployed as child labour. International Labour Organisation estimates that agriculture at 60 percent is the largest employer of child labour in India, while United Nation s Food and Agriculture Organisation estimates 70% of child labour is deployed in agriculture and related activities. Outside of agriculture, child labour is observed in almost all informal sectors of the Indian economy. Companies including Gap, Primark, Monsanto and others have been criticised for child labour in their products. The companies claim they have strict policies against selling products made by underage kids, but there are many links in a supply chain making it difficult to police them all. You must be recalling stories of afternoons on the playground with your friends or that heavenly feeling of eating freezies on a hot, summer day. Did the memory of child prostitution run through your mind? No? How about having your rights and innocence completely stripped away from you? About ten million children are involved in prostitution worldwide (B.Willis, 2002), with India consisting of one million child prostitutes; forty percent the country s total prostitution population (CNN, 2009). In most cases, children are kidnapped and forced into prostitution or take part in what is known as survival sex to provide basic needs for their family. But what happens when a child prostitute finally comes across a police officer whom they believe have come to their rescue? They get arrested. Children forced into the sex trade should not be punished for their actions, but instead, should be provided with assistance to cope with the severe mental trauma they face. Many government officials and police officers don t recognize child prostitutes as victims of sexual abuse but treated as offenders who need to be punished for their crime. According to a 2011 FBI report, about two hundred thousand U.S. children are at risk of being exploited and trafficked for sex. The contamination was ultimately found to be Escherichia coli 0157:H7 commonly referred to as E. coli or EC0157. Investigations by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Missouri state and county public health departments determined the most probable source of contamination was leakage of sewage near broken water main lines that then entered the drinking water distribution system (Swerdlow et al, 1992). According to the report by Swerdlow et al (1992), this particular incident had the distinction of being not only the largest incidence of EC0157 infection at that time but also the first due to a multiple resistant organism, and the first documented to be transmitted by water (Swerdlow et al, 1992, p. 818). Testing of water taken directly from the wells in Cabool revealed the water contamination did not occur in the ground water itself but was initiated in and then distributed via the water supply system. The Cabool contamination could have been prevented had the town followed the recommended standard procedure of hyperchlorination immediately after water line breaks or repairs (Swerdlow et el, 1992). It is common for water systems to have small leaks but they usually do not result in contamination as the positive flow of water pressure prevents inward infiltration of the system but when there are breaks in the lines and pressure is lost, contamination can flow back into the water lines. ... Hence, the objective is to establish a relationship between the length of a cantilever, which may give some insight into the physics of cantilevers. Hypothesis: If one increases the length of a cantilever, one would expect there to be an increase in deflection/flexion of the cantilever. Similarly, if one increases the mass of the load, one would expect there to be an increase in the deflexion/flexion of the cantilever. In addition, I predict that proportionality will also occur ... Hence, the difference between these heights is equal to the deflection/flexion of the cantilever. In my Final Essay, I m going to answer this question for you, Can justice and forgiveness go hand in hand? There are numerous amounts of examples I will show you, and one of them even includes a film called Simon Birch. Justice is what you fight and earn properly. Revenge is naïve, and can be hurtful, if somebody hurts you, handle it maturely and respectfully. The well known play by Shakespeare, Hamlet; is one example of justice and forgiveness. Hamlets uncle, Claudius kills his own brother, Hamlet Sr. He puts poison in his ear while he was dozing. Hamlet finds out and doesn t tell anyone, everyone think he has gone mad, even his own mother, Gertrude. Claudius marries Gertrude and becomes king. Hamlet continues to make a play about how Claudius killed Hamlet Sr. and Claudius feels uncomfortable and leaves. During the whole play, Hamlet tries to get revenge on Claudius in whatever possible way he can. However, Claudius convinces everybody that Hamlet is lying about what he has been saying about him. At the end of the play, Hamlet and Claudius duel to the death. Claudius gets wounded and Hamlet feels like he has won and that he finally got revenge and justice for his father. When a community comes together and agrees on a common goal, chances are they will reach that goal because everyone has the passion to obtain it. This brought me to remember a part in the book of Freud s Mexico: Into the Wilds of Psychoanalysis where in chapter one, Perversions, where the Poet Salvador Novo affirms his sexual orientation with such ... What Is The Tone Of 12 Angry Men 12 Angry Men Post Film Reflection Claim: The most powerful message that Reginald Rose demonstrates in his play 12 Angry Men would be how tone matters to convey and nudge others towards an opinion. • 30. Essay on Slave Ship The Slave Ship by Marcus Rediker is a great fiction novel that describes the horrifying experiences of Africans, seamen, and captains on their journey through the Middle Passage. The Middle Passage marked the water way in the Atlantic Ocean between Africa and the Americas. The use of slaves provided a great economy for the European countries due to the fact that these African slaves provided free labor while cultivating sugar cane in the Caribbean and America. Rediker describes the slave migration by saying, There exists no account of the mechanism for history s greatest forced migration, which was in many ways the key to an entire phase of globalization (10). For instance, Captain Tomba led many villagers in burning huts and killing neighbors who cooperated with slave traders (14). He was later captured and sent to the slave ship where he would be sold in the New World. The slaves also resisted by refusing to eat. Most of them decided they would rather have death than to live the lifestyle on the slave ships. The captains punished those who refused to eat by giving them lashes to the bare skin until they decided to eat. Olaudah Equiano could be considered one of the more fortunate Africans involved in the slave trade. Rediker uses Equiano to show how Africans were kidnapped and brought to the slave ship. Equiano was home alone with his sister when he was snatched by a neighboring enemy tribe. Tribes were kidnapping each other to sell to the slave traders for goods and even weapons. Equiano was separated from his sister and sold off to merchants before actually boarding the slave ship. He mentioned several times how he would rather die than be on the slave ship. He noticed right away that the slave ship was equipped with nettings to prevent precisely such desperate rebellion (109). Equiano went to the Americas and was left alone when none of the merchants purchased him. He was sold to a captain and boarded his ship back to England. On this slave ship, he was treated much better. He got to stay on the deck and eat better food than he had ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Advantage Of Homeschooling Homeschooling is a type of education which children are taught at home, usually by their parents or tutors, instead of in conventional public or private schools. While it is common in some countries, especially America, according to the Hong Kong Education Bureau (2001), if parents stop their children from attending school without valid reasons, they might be issued with an attendance order requiring them to send their children back to school. Strong statistical analysis, however, shows that the above problems can be tackled with better planning and regulations. Contrastingly, the benefits of homeschooling are fundamental based on the flexible teaching methods and schedules so that children s interests and quality of learning could be enhanced to increase the efficiency of education. However, if homeschooling has to be popularized in Hong Kong, supportive measurements from different parties, such as more in depth teaching courses from museums, more precisely trained experts or tutor for teaching homeschoolers and more clear policy and rules set by the government to prevent neglecting of children education, are needed. In the academic field, further and more comprehensive research comparing the effectiveness of different teaching methods such as using textbooks, outing, holding discussions and doing projects is needed to help homeschooled parents to plan better schedules for their ... Pros And Cons Of Currency War The phrase Currency War was used to describe the efforts of nations to devalue their own currencies, in order to increase their competitiveness of export in the international market. In the context of the reading, major players in the currency war from 2010 to 2013 included the U.S., European countries, China, Switzerland, and Japan, each using different ways in devaluing the domestic currency: the US printed a lot of money via quantitative easing (QE) ; China controlled capital inflows through accumulating foreign currency reserve and undervaluing renminbi; Switzerland prohibited the franc to appreciate further against the euro; and Japan announced the unlimited purchasing of government bonds which increases money supply to counter economic downturn. Opponents contended that policy decisions such as QE are beggar they neighbor actions while they eased domestic economic downturn in the developed countries alone, the price of such behavior was to be shifted to the international market and particularly, the emerging markets. • 35. Roman Republic Democratic The Roman constitution has three elements, but their share of power was so well regulated people are still unsure whether the republic was a democracy (A democracy is a system of government in which people have the right to empower rules, usually through representatives) or more of an aristocracy (a form of government where the authority is held by the nobility) or a despotism (a form of government where the ruler has absolute power). Rome s Republic lasted between 509 BC to 30 BC, which is 479 years. Rome had three divisions in their government that were the consul, senate, and the assembly. Rome s Republic was not very democratic because they only elected prosperous, men, to hold high spots in the office, voting rights were restricted to some individuals, and the magistrates were in control of the military, but didn t actually fight in the military. Indeed many of men in the Republic of Rome that voted were rich, lucrative men. How easily a small number of urban residents registered in a rural tribe could determine the vote of that tribe is clear from the small percentage of citizens who voted. • 36. Cannibalism And Its Impact On Society Introduction Throughout the course of our evolution hominids have engaged in, what today would be considered savage, inhumane practices, such as manslaughter, torture and mutilation (Lewis, Jurmain Kilgore, 2013). These actions today are considered almost taboo in society, however anthropologists who study such behaviour and historians who have meticulously documented it are completely comfortable divulging their work to the scientific community. Based on this acceptance, one would expect the topic of cannibalism to be met with the same understanding within academia. Astoundingly though, the discussion of cannibalism within our ancestral past encounters much controversy and is greatly looked down upon within the general population (White, 2001). For those who study this highly provocative practice, like paleoanthropologist Tim White, the idea of cannibalism is as significant to the holistic study of anthropology as the idea of evolution is to the study of creationism. This viewpoint is only one of many related to cannibalism today and is shared by a very small group of individuals. The thought of cannibalism within modern society though comes with so much displeasure to the point that conferences go to the length of entitling presentations such that the notion of one human being consuming another is eluded altogether. An example of this tactic would be the Multidisciplinary Approaches to Social Violence in the Prehispanic American Southwest symposium which outlined ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Anthony, shed s light on women being able to have a lawful right to vote, with an influential speech, that leads to equality for women and men, this protest coordinates women and voting, but also opens opportunity for women in everything that they do. Susan B. Anthony supports her claims in a forceful manner, by explaining the amount of suffrage taking place in women s lives, as a result of the lack of rights they have, she gives a valid example by explaining her arrest, for the alleged crime of having voted at the last presidential election, without having a lawful right to vote , she states that she did not commit a crime, she just exercised her rights as a citizen guaranteed by the National Constitution. Anthony s purpose is to exert the rights for women that are in the Constitution, that are being overlooked by the United States Government. She establishes a compelling tone for whom it applies to. First, the ontological equality means that all the people are equal in the eyes of God. Second, the equality of opportunity means that all people should have the same opportunities for advancement, and it is judged into the same standards. Third, the equality of condition means to be equal under the conditions that can help the people to achieve their goals. Forth, equality of outcome is the idea about that everyone in a society should end up with the same rewards regardless of his or her starting point, opportunities, or contributions. There are a large number of sub policies that are encompassed by the fiscal system. But all the policies can be broadly categorized as being either Public Expenditure or Public Revenue . It can be said that the fiscal policy is a direct government intervention in the economic processes of an economy. The fiscal policy is very objective in nature, since it creates decisions that can be uniformly applied to the entire economy or to a segment of the economy. The fiscal policy is considered to be more direct than the monetary policy in its impact on the economy. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, it should be noted that the increase in the interest rate has brought about a disincentive for the private sector within the economy. The private investors are dissuaded from borrowing the investible funds lying with the financial system, since the ROI is too high and so unattractive for them. Had the shifting of the IS curve not caused the interest rate to rise (i.e., the ROI was fixed at OI1), then given the new IS situation, the economy would have been at equilibrium at E3 and the income would have risen to OY3. Thus, we see that an expansionary fiscal policy has reduced the possibility of creating income up to OY3 hence, Y2Y3 represents the amount of additional income lost i.e., the Crowding out Effect . Showing the COE with the help of AD function: The fiscal policy, with a constant money supply, is less expansionary than it would have been if the money supply were increased to keep the ROIs constant as income expanded. Hence, the fall in income by Y1Y2 is the crowding out effect.
