My Reflection Of Skype
Skype Reflection I will start by saying that our conversations with everyone over Skype has been
my favorite thing I have had the pleasure to do since I have been in college. It was different,
informative, intriguing, and easily the most interesting exchange I have ever had. I not only
appreciate having been given the opportunity to be a part of this conversation, but feel fortunate to
have taken part in learningabout others and their way of life. After speaking with Chris Saunders
and Panos and Stefania, I re read Hofstede s dimensions and felt I learned more and understood it
better after speaking with them. I feel that I can read something repeatedly, but having a good
example and seeing it first hand is the best learning experience I can have. To have a good take
away from the book with an even better example was the best way to learn this subject. When
speaking to Chris Saunders from Wales and England, I first noticed that he seemed as nervous as
we did. He was able to answer our questions with great content and was really funny. I felt that he
had a great amount of individuality and held true to his own beliefs. I also feel that Chris
showed that he fits into the masculinity dimension as he is successful as a writer and driven as
a teacher. Since he has moved around so much, he shows that he personally has a low
uncertainty avoidance, as he can take risks and is less resistant to change. An example of this is
he was able to move to China, not knowing much about the culture or the language and take the
changes as they came at him. When it came to talking to Chris, I think what surprised me the
most was that there is a gap between 16 and 18 from what we would call high school to college.
In the United States kids wouldn t know what to do with themselves and I can t imagine what
kind of trouble they would get into. It also surprised me that he has lived in so many places. He
has had the opportunity to learn so about so many cultures and meet so many people and that is
incredible. My impressions of Chris were that he is very intelligent and funny. He has a great
sense of what he wants in life and is able to accomplish those goals. Because of his individuality he
is able to make his own choices and do

System Advisor Model Is Developed By The National...

Model (SAM) or System Advisor Model is developed by the National Renewable Energy
Laboratory (NREL) and is available for free download. Its main function is to predict the
performance and cost of residential and commercial projects. SAM has different options for
predicting the performance of photovoltaic systems. The model requires that the user choose from
different photovoltaic system models, and depending on that choice, possibly choose from
different modules and different inverter component models. The software offers a package of
performance and financial for projects with different financial structures. SAM s reports use
consistent assumptions for the different models to facilitate comparing technology and financing
options. SAM is one of many photovoltaic system models available, but is unique in the way it
integrates a photovoltaic performance model with a detailed financial model for a given project,
and in its ability to compare photovoltaic systems to other renewable energy systems. SAM has
three different choices for the user to choose from to modeling a photovoltaic system; The PVWatts
System model which is an implementation of NREL s online photovoltaic calculator, the Flat Plate
PV model which combines and separates module s component models that are available for the user
to select and; and the High X Concentrating PV model which is for concentrating PV systems. All

What is management..?
Management plays a vital role in developing and promoting success to any business. There are
various definitions for management by different scholars. According to Henri Fayol (1841 1925),
Management is to forecast and to plan, to organise, to command, to co ordinate and to control (Iim
edu.org, 2016). According to Lawrence A Appley, Management is the development of people and
not the direction of things (HubPages, 2016).

Alice Walker and the Color Purple
Alice Walker is an African American woman s activist/feminist and author who was born in the
early 1940s, in Eatonton, Georgia. Walker lived in the the rural south at a time when there were
heavy poverty and racial violence amongst most African Americans. The circumstances that
Walker faced ended up contributing to the person that she is today and it is reflected in many of
her novels. Even throughout the trials and tribulations that Walker endured, she was still able to
succeed in life. As a young child, Walker had an accident with a BB gun and ended up going
blind in one eye. Because of this injury, this turned Walker into a very timid and shy child, Walker
eventually graduated and left home to go to college and later got involved in the civil rights
movement in Mississippi. Many years later in Walkers young adult life, she endured major
depression from having to deal with the termination of her pregnancy. In the 1960s, she returned to
Mississippi, where she met a Jewish civil rights law student named Mel Leventhal, where they
eventually married and moved to Mississippi. Alice eventually got pregnant, but unfortunately
miscarried the baby. Over the years, she channeled many of the experiences that she faced into
fictional stories about the lives of blacks in America, especially woman in the South. The
characters in Walkers writings faced a lot of the same trials that Walker herself endured such as,
racism, violence, discrimination of woman, low self esteem, and etc. In the

Compare And Contrast A Barred Owl And The History Teacher
It s the dead of the night and the shrieking calls of a barred owl break the silence. A young child
bolts upright in bed with fear written across her innocent face. A teacher s class is about to be
taught a lesson on The Ice Age. The parents of the frightened child hush their daughter and say it
was just an inquisitive owl that scared her awake. The teacher pulls on a sweater and says,
Cavemen wore these a lot in The Ice Age. The children in these scenarios are the victims of deceit.
Both poems, A Barred Owl and The History Teacher by Richard Wilbur and Billy Collins show the
effects of not exposing children to the truth early on in life. The parent and teacher mentioned are
only concerned about their children s innocence remaining intact, and they don t take into
consideration how sheltering them from the truth life holds will affect the children s minds. Wilbur
and Collins... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When the child was put to bed, the sky was probably not as dark as it was when she was woken
by the owl. Wilbur s words reveal this when the poem begins on a lighter note than the gruesome
ending. An owl has eyes that are much larger than those of the child mentioned. That being said,
this barred owl can clearly see the world and the life around him. The child cannot due to the fact
that her parents are preventing her from such exposure. Innocent minds deserve a healthy dose of
reality provided in the form of truthful explanations from the adults in their lives. The poem, The
History Teacher leans towards a more playful and bright tone than the tone Wilbur used in A
Barred Owl. It almost sounds ironic that Collins titled the poem, The History Teacher because
when spoken in a sarcastic tone it sounds like he s mocking the teacher. He calls him a history
teacher sarcastically because the poet agrees with the fact that this teacher isn t actually teaching
history. He s feeding the children

Dehydrogenase Synthesis Lab Report
BIOC222 Lactate Dehydrogenase Assay Lab Report
Introduction
In this investigation, the inhibition of Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH) Enzyme isolated from
Dissostichus mawsoni by oxamic acid will be analysed through spectrophotometric assays, and
compared with parallel experimental data obtained from other groups using a different inhibitor
(вЌє ketoglutarate), and using LDH obtained from a different fish (Squalus acanthias). LDH is a
tetrameric enzyme with two different types of subunits, subunit M and subunit H. This allows the
LDH enzyme to exist in five different isoforms. The differences between different isoforms of LDH
will be examined through polyacrymide gel electrophoresis and subsequent stains for protein
presence and activity.

Aspartate and Glutamate are the two negatively charged canonical amino acids, due to their
negatively charged side chain groups, and therefore these amino acids would contribute to greater
negativity within the H subunit. The spacing of bands visible on the polyacrymide gel of the gel
electrophoresis is regular because the negativity of each isoform is determined by the subunits
which comprise it (either the H or M subunit). Therefore the negative charge on each isoform will
change at regular intervals as the subunit composition of the isoform

Library Security Proposal
Introduction
Libraries are still one of the most widely used facility in America that requires everyone to be in a
safe and secure environment. Statics show that most libraries in the underprivileged areas, the
police had to be called more so than those who visited libraries in the least deprived areas (Wilson,
2017). The most well known security concerns that apply to a library facility security is protecting
the library staff and patrons, historical artifacts, preventing the facility from becoming a dwelling
for the homeless, teenager performing vandalism or fighting and persons with mental
inappropriately exposing themselves or reorganizing books due to obsessive compulsive disorder
(Quora. 2015). So, the purpose of this paper is to design and implement a comprehensive Security
Plan of a local Library facility to examine the problems and issues that might arise. This plan will
outline the security procedures for preventing and handling security issues related demographic
analysis, interior and exterior property, protection against information security and personal
security, emergency preparedness, OSHA, hiring and training of security personnel training and
legal issues related to the library building.
Demographic Analysis

A Critique on The Sociopath Next Door
Down the street, in our workplaces, seemingly under our beds Harvard Medical Professor Martha
Stout s Sociopath Next Door: The Ruthless vs. The Rest of Us sends the reader into a state of
frightful paranoia when she mentions that a staggering 1 in 25, 4%, persons is, in fact, a sociopath.
A sociopath, as Stout asserts, is a person with the lack of a conscience, thus a person not concerned
with the suffering of others, to worry only about itself. She goes on to tell us that, because the rate
of sociopaths in our society is so high, we must have already met hundreds without knowing it, due
to the elusive and enigmatic nature of this psychological disease. However, a rational thinker can
clearly see the flaws in the conceptions... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moving on, any skeptic reading this book would surely have a plethora of questions for the
professor. How, exactly, does one come up with the statistic of 1/25 in regards to the ratio of
sociopaths to normal people? This question is rather baffling because, in the book, Stout states
that there are many sociopaths which feign emotion for the sole purpose of progressing in life.
How, then, do these people, faking a conscious, admit themselves to being a full fledged
sociopath when they have been lying to themselves and others around them for the bulk of their
lives? Stout either did not factor these individuals into her statistical evaluation, which would
mean a great number more of sociopaths than perceived through this book, or that Stout, with this
knowledge, made a conjecture. In any case, especially in the latter, this statistic cannot be trusted
and should therefore not be taken as hard fact. Another gaping problem in this book is the lack of
perspective provided by Stout in regards to a true sociopath, one that admits they have not
remorse, no conscience; one who only wants to win. It would have been an eye opening
experience to truly view the world through the eyes of a sociopath, which could have been
accomplished through the course of a simple question and answer style interview. While this book
is clearly not perfect, it does have its redeeming qualities. The simple

Bourdieu Theory
Homeowners faced design choices that federal agencies, corporations, builders, architects, research
and development organizations, and media outlets honed down into a smaller list for the masses. I
frame the design options that homeowners had with two themes access, and science and
technology. The theme of access addresses the social, cultural, and political structures that dictated
design options. Science and technology encompass the construction processes and materials,
interior materials, and objects within the house. In some instances, the theme of science and
technology impacted access. I will illustrate how these themes frame and narrow the design options
available to homeowners when purchasing or renovating their homes.
Using access ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Advancements in science and technology required changes in construction materials due to
economic concerns for builders and homeowners. Where plaster was once the standard for wall
insulation and construction, drywall was becoming the standard instead (Lane, 2015). Plaster wall
construction required skilled workers, and this process is time consuming and costly to construct
and repair, whereas, unskilled workers could install drywall quicker and less expensively (Lane,
2015). The combination of reduced construction time and unskilled workers saved builders and
construction companies money. Drywall enabled homeowners to renovate at a reduced cost and
change wall appearances easier with paint and wallpaper (Jensen, 2004; Lane,

Corridors Of Migration Summary
Corridors of Migration, is about the odyssey of Mexican laborers during the period of 19600
1933. The book written by Rodolfo Acuna starts with the Spanish conquest of the America, portrays
the factors that influenced Mexicans to migrate to the United States as well as the factors that
pushed Mexicans out of the U.S. labor strikes and the corridors taken by Mexicans and their
families. The aspects that influenced people to move can be seen as push, pull, and nativism that
occurred due to the cause and effect of reactions of social and economic issues such as the Mexican
Revolution of 1910, World World I, and mines as well as commercial agriculture. Moreover, the
book illustrates strikes from the earliest in Arizona to the 1933 San Joaquin Valley Cotton Strike. In
addition, Acuna shows the different corridors of Mexican Laborers and their families who struggle
from the seventeenth century in Chihuahua to the twentieth century California and how they fought

It explains that Christopher Columbus knew that sugar and slavery were going to bring him a lot
of profit. Thus, the Spaniards formed the encomienda system, which forced Indians to work and
eventually turned them into slaves. Slave labor did produce the major consumer goods that were
the basis of world trade and gave tremendous profit to Europe through the trade triangle. Acuna says,
The Spanish conquest of the Americas profoundly shaped what it would mean to be Mexican (4).
This is because the Spaniards destroyed the social, political, and economic systems of the Natives.
In addition, the natives of Chihuahua suffered the loss of their religion and culture and were forced
to become slaves. Then, it expands the information about the transformation in Chihuahua where

One can only assume that Chipotle uses concentration strategies for their corporate level strategies,
because they only concentrate on the restaurant industry. Market penetration and market
development is their main focus, as they are attracting new customers as they increase brand
awareness through their business strategies and their Food With Integrity campaign, Farmed and
Dangerous live action story telling comedy series, and Cultivate Foundation, which is a non profit
organization supporting sustainable agriculture, family farming and food education, and they are
expanding into new markets with international expansion, so Chipotle can continue to change the
way people think about and eat fast food (Chipotle, 2015). Chipotle also, uses product development
, but not as aggressively as market penetration. The most recent product development is a meat
alternative made from tofu, called Sofritas . Chipotle is highly invested in Pizzeria Locale,
suggesting the possibility of horizontal integration in the near future, and is using an adjacent
strategy with its sister restaurant ShopHouse Southeast Asian

ALL Essay
Signs and Symptoms
The signs and symptoms of ALL can present chronically or acutely, they are normally found during
a routine blood count of an asymptomatic child or during a life threatening hemorrhage, infection,
or episode of respiratory distress. Although ALL is a disease primarily of the bone marrow and
peripheral blood, any organ or tissue may be infiltrated by the abnormal cells. The symptoms in
children can have a much longer duration due to ALL has varies amounts of onset which may last
from days to months.
The first symptoms are usually non specific and include anorexia, irritability and lethargy. Fever is
the most common finding, occurring in approximately 60% of patients. Progressive bone marrow

Patients with ALL generally have a higher than normal white blood count and lower than normal
red blood cell and platelet counts. Blood tests are also performed to evaluate liver, kidney, and
blood clotting status. The physician will also check the levels of certain minerals and proteins
for an accurate diagnosis. The next step will be to perform a bone marrow biopsy, pending the
blood test results. If the results are abnormal or the doctor suspects leukemia despite normal cell
counts, a bone marrow aspiration and biopsy are the next steps. These are very common and
safe procedures. Then, if bone marrow examination confirms ALL, a spinal tap will be the next
step, which means a needle will be inserted into the spinal canal and cerebrospinal fluid with
leukemia cells will be collected and will be analyzed for signs that the disease has spread to the
central nervous system. In most cases of childhood ALL, leukemia cells are not found in the
cerebrospinal fluid.
Disease Progression
There are two main types of ALL acute and chronic. Acute leukemia develops very quickly, while
chronic leukemia tends to develop slowly, usually over a period of months or years without
causing many symptoms. In ALL it mainly affects the lymphoid cells, as to in the chronic
lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) state, it affects the lymphoid cells. For ALL, staging does not occur in
the same way normal cancer cells do because the disease originates

Egypt more to Blame than Israel for the Outbreak of War...
There are different historical views on what really provoced the war of 1967, the Israelis would
clearly blame the Egyptians and point at Nasser s agressions as the main provocation leading to
the war. Another view is that Nasser did not have the intention to fight Israel at that point, but
when the UN troops in the Sinai were withdrawn suprisingly after Nasser s demand, Nasser had to
make true his big promises to defeat Israelto the other Arab nations. He wanted to keep his
reputation as the ultimate leader of the pan Arabian league and he could only do so by moving
his troops towards Israel, which no longer had a protection buffer by the UN troops in the Sinai.

France and Britain had lost their role in the Middle East after 1956, nevertheless, other foregn
influences became strong in the area: Soviet American rivalry dragged the Cold War into the
region. Russia hoped that if it would spread its influence in the Middle East, it would be able to
break the encirclement around the USSR, which stoped it from spreading. The USA had made
pacts to condemn communism from spreading, the Baghdad pact of 1955 included Turkey, Iran,
Iraq Pakistan and Britain. By winning over the Arab states, Russia expected to break this belt and
be able to take Communism all over the world. Russia s interest in the Middle East alarmed the
United States, so they started taking an interest themselves in the region, sympathizing most with
Israel, due to Egypt being too unpredictable in its loyalities.
After 1956 the Israelis were forced to give back all territorial gains and return to the borders
agreed in the 1949 armistice, but in received in return the support of the UNEF in the Gaza Strip

Importance Of Self Preservation In Hamlet
The first principle of human nature is self preservation: the natural instinct to protect oneself
physically and stay away from danger. In the tragedy, Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, Shakespeare
brings new light to the idea of desire to maintain a sense of self,in a deeper more complex aspect
of the term. As the play Hamletdelves into severe moral issues such as death and betrayal,
Shakespeare demonstrates the importance of establishing a sense of self. The character of
Ophelia is often dismissed as a flat, static character. However, through in depth analysis of her
struggles and fate, Ophelia s as despair and tragedy can ultimately be traced back to one source:
her lack of understanding and stability in selfhood. Throughout the play, it is clear that self
preservation plays a critical role in protecting one s identity and values when individuals respond
to competing demands; because when the ability to chose is taken away, an individual loses the
clarity and sense of purpose from selfhood. When individuals lack the ability to defend their
ideas and personal preferences to others, with confidence they will lose their identity and sense
of self as they allow others to control their opinions and thoughts. Ophelia s lack of confidence
in herself solidifies both Laertes and Polonius into occupying a dominant role expected of men
in the 16th century. Polonius assures Ophelia that her obedience is the best thing for her, and
creates this illusion of himself as a crutch she needs to respond to competing demands.
Subsequently, when Ophelia finds herself torn between two loyalties her love for Hamlet, and
her father s expectations, Polonius sways her to compliance with his ideas. I shall obey, my
lord. (I, iv, 145 )This complete obedience of her father ultimately eliminates Ophelia s self
preservation that would ensure her best outcome. It is clear her father s requests of her are not
out of love and concern for Ophelia but for his own issues of vanity and securing his status. This
can be seen in misalignments in Polonius claims, and the condescension in his words to Ophelia.
As Laertes prepares to leave, Polonius grants him with advice, This above all: to thine own selfbe
true. (I, iii, 84). He contradicts

Prioritizing roofing system candidates
If you have the responsibility to plan and select an inventory of roofing areas to receive roof
coatings, the timing and priority of the installation is an important step. First you need
information, to make better informed decisions to identify the best roof section candidates and
avoid an installation window that could lower the coating service life or substantially increase the
roof system preparation. All buildings age and deteriorate. Its also common to have deferred
maintenance, a flaw in roof design and or original construction that has impacted the roofing
system performance. No surprise that known problems will also add risk factors to a roof coating
installation. A best practice is to start with a method to maintain good records for the as built roof
system data, defect histories, leak calls and maintenance histories will allow more consistent rating
and ranking of roofing areas.

Advances in IT Topics
Advances in IT Topics
In recent years, Information Technology has had advances in big data storage and health
information systems. Big data companies are developing products for storage capacity and support
services growth, with many leveraging local file based storage with object based cloud storage
(Coughlin, 2012). And, initiatives in advances for personalized medicine include technologies that
link informatics with genotype and phenotype data to produce custom built solutions to illness
(Welch, 2009). Improvements brought by big data include creating more transparency among
stakeholders by making big data more accessible (Manyika, 2011). Having access to and being
able to manipulate data sets enables a different way of decision making to bring more science into
management. Companies can segment and analyze data in near real time. The analysis improves
decision making, minimizes risks, and uncover more insights to enable new innovation. According
to (Manyika, 2011), there was questions as to how corporate marketing functions would need to
evolve and how business processes could change. There was the question of how companies would
leverage assets, particularly data assets, to create more value. There was also a question of how big
data might interrupt business models. Cloud computing moves applications and databases to
warehouses and poses new security challenges, which have not been well understood and many
research problems are not yet identified (Wang, 2009).

Disadvantages Of Search Engine Optimization
With increased competition, constantly changing algorithms and search engine rules, Search
Engine Optimization (SEO) now requires much higher expertise to handle it. Having realized
this fact, many marketing companies like web developers, PR firms, web hosting companies,

by themselves, now agree that SEO is a process that is better left to the specialists in the industry,
thus, relieving the burden off their shoulders. This has given rise to SEO reselling. A firm that

What Is The 1988 Reform Act To Present
There s little disbelief that education, as a social institution, has an important role to play in our
society (Moore, Aiken, Chapman, 2005). This essay will look further into the influences of social,
economic and political changes in Britain s education over the last 30 years. The essay will mainly
review and focus on the eras between the 1988 reform Act to present. This essay will explore further
into the influences of the national curriculum, how conservatives, labour and the coalition have
affected social and economic environments in educationand comparisons between the conservatives
and labour. It will also discuss, philosophers Dewey and Freire reviewing how both of their
methods of pedagogy has influenced teachers methods and approaches to teaching.
Successive conservatives in the 1980s increased the pace of improvement and reform and
introduced Market Mechanisms into the education system, in aim to force schools to increase their
standards of teaching (Ross Gibson, 2007). The real uprising in Britain s education legislation came

The Theory Of The Australian Human Resource Institute
Executive summary
Through the need of a change within the management of the Australian Human Resource institute
this report has outlined efficient ways in improving the success rate of the Australian manufacturing
sectors. However, in discovering the right way to dealt the management different theories have been
looked upon. The classical 1909 theory was proposed by Frederick Winslow Taylor, which
explained that improving management is based on the efficiency and productivity of the employees.
This is deemed in Taylor believing that all workers were motivated by the external reward. That
being money, so he promoted the idea of a fair day s pay for a fair day s work. In context meaning,

providing a means to their being an improvement within the Australian manufacturing sector.
Through the year that has passed the Australian manufacturing sector has undergone a large amount
financial pressure resulting in there being a sufficient amount of staff layoffs and even to the point

The Influence Of Western Civilization
The Influence of western Civilization
Western Civilization has had a tremendous influence on many different cultures worldwide. From
the Hispanic cultures in South and Central America, to the Caribbean islands, and also to the
various exotic African countries, and even to the distinguished cultures that reside in the continent
of Asia. In many ways than one, these cultures have been molded to be as westernized as they could
possibly be without losing their traditional customs indefinitely. They re religion, fashion sense, and
family structures have all been altered in some form so that it could resemble the western nation s
patriarch. Countries in North America and Europe have for centuries traveled to different continents
in the world and colonized many nations, as a result of that, many of the customs and traditions of
those people have been shaped to be a bit more westernized.
One prime element in different cultures that was influenced by Western countries is religion.
Religion is defined as the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power that could be
one s own personal God, Gods, or even Goddesses. The most popular and followed religion in the
world is Christianity. Christianity is also widely known and accepted as a European/ Westernized
religion though the origin of Christianity began in what is today the Middle East, and Asia. In

Flowers remain blooming when the sun is out for 1 or 2 days, being replaced by a seed capsule
that grows large, and later splits open to release its seeds. The rhizomes that are found at the roots
of these flowers, and the foliage contain a reddish juice. Over time the plants often form vegetative
colonies, these colonies self pollinate to reproduce.
The reproductive system of the bloodroot is one that contain several strategies. The bloodroot limits
self pollination, hoping that the pollinator landing on it will bring pollen from another to bloodroot
to cross pollinate them. This happens when the stigma which is the middle of the flower and the
female reproductive organs becomes receptive before the anthers which are the male reproductive
organs. This strategy puts a limit on the amount of times the same flower can come in contact
with receptive stigma. The first few days when the flower is opening the antlers bends over
towards the outside of the flower, distancing themselves from the receptive stigma. When its warm
pollinators fly around and deposit pollen from one bloodroot onto the receptive stigma when
visiting the flower. This is easily done by bloodroots because they pollinate when other flowers
aren t, which eliminates the chances for other competition with other flowers. This primary
pollinator for the bloodroot are mining bees, collecting pollen from the underside of their bellies.

Causes And Consequences Of The Great Recession
CAUSES AND CONSEQUENCES OF THE GREAT RECESSION The most recent four years of
the turbulent financial execution brought up a larger number of issues than gave answers about
reasons for the Great Recession of 2008 2009. Most business analysts are faulting the land business
sector breakdown and the tailed it budgetary emergency as fundamental driver of the Recession. Be
that as it may, the genuine macroeconomic reason was the change of the national macroeconomic
approach from the Demand backing to Supply bolster methodology amidst 1980s. In this article I
am going to discuss the reasons of the Great Recession and its results. The monetary methodology
before 1980 s has been based on the thoughts of the full job and the wages development as the
consequence of the development of profitability. The full vocation and the wages development have
empowered the increment in the interest for merchandise and administrations. That development
has affected the increment in the supply and has invigorated the organizations to put into new
innovations encouraging the further development of efficiency. The stagflation of 1970 s truly
harmed this methodology. In 1980 s the Keynesian model of the monetary development, which
depends on the backing of the development of Aggregate Demand, has been supplanted by the neo
liberal model of financial development based upon the backing of the development the Aggregate
Supply. Increment sought after as it takes after from the established

The Laws Of Sex Trafficking
There are many other types of trafficking other than the stereotypical 17 year old girl. The most
prevalent is labor trafficking. Traffickers exploit punishment through manipulation of laws. Even
now, traffickers are causing psychological and sometimes physical damage on their victims. Many
companies are attempting to rid of trafficking within their plants, there are people working for
cheaper rates, which, result in higher acceptance rates. In 2001, when Germany legalized
prostitution, illegal traffic decreased by 10%. (Reisenwitz, Cathy) Therefore, the laws of sex
trafficking should be fortified because traffickers manipulate laws and legalization of prosecution
dropped illegal trafficking rates, we should focus on helping all victims rather than focusing on sex
trafficking.
Granted that traffickers avoid punishment, they are able to manipulate their victims. A troubled
child s parent did not know what was happening, but her child was introverted and less social.
(Greenlee Donnel, Cynthia) this evidence helps support the fact that this child was so troubled that
he did not confess what was happening despite the discerned alterations. However, many vagrant
individuals are resorting to drugs and sex. This can result in them being pimped due to craving
money. (Picard, Andre) there are many ways that the victims are exploited.
However, some countries want to begin a death sentence for convicted traffickers. China s ministry

Pro Minimum Wage
People all across America believe that minimum wage is a good thing and helps people without an
education have a normal life, however others believe it is causing poverty and homelessness among
the citizens. Minimum wage was made to provide enough money to live just above the national
poverty line. But over the years the cost of living has increased while the minimum wage hasn t.
Today, the national minimum wage is $7.25, which is less powerful than the minimum wage was in
1968. This is because the minimum wage was $1.60 per hour, which seems low but back then $1.60
was enough to support a three person family, whereas today the minimum wage can barely support
one person. All throughout the U.S., workers have been fighting for a higher minimum... Show

Characteristics Of Modernism

Each period style, for instance, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Modernism, Post modernism has certain
defining characteristics. Describe a period of your choice and define its traits.
Modernism is a period style which has many defining characterisitcs which will be talked about
throughout the course of this essay. The birth of Modernismran between the 18th and 19th century
around the time of the industrial revolution. The industrial revolution caused very quick changes in
technology, manufacturing and transportation as well as other aspects.
These all had a massive affect on the social, economic and cultural conditions of life in Western
Europe, North America and eventually the rest of the world. (MoMa 2011) [Fig 1] The first

Other arts such as literature and music had massively changed, shaping the music we listen to and
the books we read to this day. The modernist period saw many composers start to experiment with
their music which was a change from the romantic period. The romantic period was very traditional
but in the early 20th century, composers had started to use new melodies and harmonies that were
considered unusual at the time.
One of the most famous musicians to thrive in the modernist period was the American composer
Aaron Copland. Some of his most famous work would be his compositions for the films Of Mice
and Men and Our Town . He very much went with the fast changing times that were happening
around him.
In his growth as a composer Copland mirrored the important trends of his time. After his return
from Paris, he worked with jazz rhythms in Music for the Theater (1925) and the Piano Concerto
(1926). (Britannica 2016)
This is what led Copland to work on project such as film scores as during the early to mid 20th
century, as the art of film had become very

Depression, Marital Distatisfaction, And Marital...
There have been many studies done which found a correlation between depression, marital
satisfaction, and marital dissatisfaction. Depression is defined as a medical illness that causes
feelings of sadness, loss of interest, change in appetite, feelings of worthlessness, and many other
symptoms including thoughts of death and suicide. Many researchers measure depression using
various methods such as affective self reports. Depression is often seen amongst teenagers and
some adults, but depression affects many others persons within our social networks. This can be
explained by the socialization hypothesis established by Shakya (2015) which states that
individuals influence one another in a way that one individual s psychological issues, such as
depression or happiness, will spread to other social contacts, much like the spread of an infectious
disease. Thus, depression can negatively affect marital satisfaction. Marital satisfaction refers to
whether the partners are content with their marriage and is often measured through a combination
of behavioral, affective, and cognitive self report measures. If depression negatively affects marital
satisfaction, then it will be contributing to marital dissatisfaction. Marital dissatisfaction indicates
the negative evaluation of a person s marital affairs. It is also measured through a combination of
behavioral, affective, and cognitive self report measures. Research shows that there is correlation
between marital dissatisfaction and

Immigration Policy And Foreign Policy
Immigration policy and foreign policy are in many ways interlinked, as they are often used to meet
goals in one another s policy areas. Together, they are used to enhance the safety of our citizens,
making this topic particularly important. Immigration is specifically linked to our foreign policy
efforts with underdeveloped countries (Keely 1978). To fully understand one policyarea, you must
understand aspects of the other. Thus, one should consider these relationships when analyzing and
evaluating Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump s policies on immigration reform.
Immigration policy can often be used as a tool for foreign policy goals. This usually occurs when
national safety is threatened, and it is sparked by merely the perception that immigration and
terrorism are linked. Many believe that terrorists can enter our country by manipulating
Immigration laws such as refugee asylums, which leads to stricter immigration policy to better
secure our national safety (Franzblau 1997, 4 11). Even now, the Republican Nominee for President
of the United States, Donald Trump, makes statements like, our immigration system is being used
to attack us (Hensch 2015). Regardless of the truth value behind his statement, it is relevant to note
that the notion itself by such an important political figure could create a push for stricter
immigration policy. The change in policy may be surrounding the issue of immigration, but the
actual goal is the foreign policy goal of enhanced national

a white dress shirt was visible. On his head, a top hat was occasionally seen. When he was

marshal title. His attitude toward crime involved taking no chances, and he became known for
cracking the long barrel of his Colt over the heads of offenders, a good solution to avoid a fatality,
and for delivering the perpetrator into prison. Wyatt loved to disturb the peace when a member of

Signs Movie Analysis
Throughout the movie Signs, there are many signs shown in the film that are ultimately needed in
order for Graham and his family to survive. This is seen towards the end of the film when Graham
has his third flashback and sees the signs that lead to the moment of their survival against the aliens
and the return of his faith, beginning with the death of his wife, Colleen.
Some of the first signs shown in the film is the death of Colleen and the mentioning of Merrill s
former baseball career. However, Colleen s death leads to Graham s brother, Merrill, moving in
with Graham and his children. Without Colleen s death Merrill would not have moved in with
Graham and his children and they would not have had Merrill or the bat hung up in the living
room to defeat the alien. In the end if Merrill had not moved in due to Colleen s death or if he had
not played baseball Graham and his family would not have survived because they would not have
had Merrill as a solider to save them. However, Colleen s death also leads to the flashback
Graham had when Graham and his family were confronted by the alien towards the end. Without

According to Hanks (2012), corpus linguistics is primarily concerned with interpreting observed
language in order to arrive at statements on patterns in word meaning or syntactic composition.
Collocations was first brought up by Palmer (1933) in English language teaching. However, in
1957, Firth introduced collocations to the theoretical linguistics. Collocations are pervasive in texts
of all genres and domains. Collocation can be defined as the grammatical company a word keeps
and the positions it refers (Hoey, 2005).
English is rich in synonyms and it often become a great challenge for EFL (English as Foreign
Language) learners. Church (1994) in his article did a lexical substitutability test in a corpus study
of the near synonyms ask for, request and demand, which results the same finding: the
substitutability of lexical items in the same linguistic context constitutes a good indicator of their
semantic similarity.

Oxygen depletion will create stress which can take years to recover. These HABs can also
suppress mammalian immune functions which results in mass mortalities of dolphins and
manatees. This can be seen by a significant reduction in manatee lymphocytes in cell culture that
are exposed to these toxins. With all of this evidence of the negative impacts of these toxins, it
shows the need to recognize these biotoxins as significant stressors within south west Florida
coastal ecosystems. HABs in Florida have had a major impact on seabirds in the west Florida
area. Seabirds that were admitted for rehabilitation in 2005 2006 after a severe bloom on the west
coast of Florida showed signs of disorientation, inability to stand, and seizures. Scientists tested the
blood, biologic fluids, and tissues of the seabirds in search of brevetoxin, and found that 69% of
the seabirds tested had this toxin present in their bodies. The four species that were most affected
were the Double crested Cormorants, Brown Pelicans, Great Blue Herons, and Common Loons.
Through blood and fecal samples taken from several of the seabirds during rehabilitation, it was

The Gay Liberation Movement Of Manhattan, New York City
On June 28, 1969, the Gay Liberation Movement was sparked due to the Stonewall Riot in
Manhattan, New York City, (History.com Staff). The Stonewall was a gay club located in New
York City. It was often regulated and harassed by police officers but one day the LGBT decided to
stand up for themselves and fight back. Although the police were legally justified in raiding the
club, which was serving liquor without a license among other violations, New York s gay
community had grown weary of the police department targeting gay clubs, a majority of which
had already been closed. The crowd on the street watched quietly as Stonewall s employees were
arrested, but when three drag queens and a lesbian were forced into the paddy wagon, the crowd
began throwing bottles at the police. The officers were forced to take shelter inside the
establishment, and two policemen were slightly injured before reinforcements arrived to disperse
the mob. The protest, however, spilled over into the neighboring streets, and order was not
restored until the deployment of New York s riot police. The raid on the Stonewall Inn lead to
many riots and created an uproar from the LGBTcommunity, (Teal). The Stonewall Riot was

not benefit everyone for them to use something that causes little to no risk as opposed to something
that could be the UK s biggest killer.
There are many reasons why many people support the legalization of cannabis, one of those
reasons being that cannabis has medicinal advantages. Studies carried out by the National Institute
of Drug Abuse (NIDA) have confirmed that cannabis can neutralize cancer cells and also has the
potential to shrink cancerous brain tumours. A 33 year old bowel cancer patient, David Hibbitt,

Self Defense In To Kill A Mockingbird
In this week s section section of To Kill A Mockingbird our mystery man who killed Mr. Robert
E. Lee Ewell is not valued. I think this because Atticus try the suspects in court for murder.
Instead of just appreciating that his kids are okay. For example in the text it says, It ll come
before county court...it was clear cut self defense, but I ll have to go to the office and hunt
up.(365) This proves the mystery man who killed Mr. Bob Ewell is not valued. This is because

Scout and Jem. So if Mr. Bob Ewell got killed in the process from self defense then maybe he
shouldn t have been beating up on them. Also Jem and Scout were trying to

Students in high school have a very difficult time depicting the college or university of their choice
whether there are going to attend a Historical Black College or University, Predominantly White

accredited collegeor university. During the time period of slavery many African Americans could
not attend a PWI school because the color of their skin. In addition, that why I think HBCU s are
still needed today. Also many HBCU s have very strong history behind their schools. South
Carolina State University is a very distinguished supportive and studious HBCU, no matter how
the media may criticize this college there are still lessons being taught day to day lives. South
Carolina State University was found in 1896 as a state sole public college for black youth it also
have played a key role in the education of African Americans in the state and the nation. It struggled
to provide agricultural and mechanical training for generations of black youngsters. However, it
extension program sent farm and home demonstration agents to rural counties to provide
knowledge and information impoverished black farm families. This distinguished university has
educated scores of teachers in the public

While the prospect of corporate espionage might sound like the obvious way to get the scoop,
there are easier ways to find the information you need than stalking a rival SEO Manager. The
magpie approach borrow your way to a better SEO strategy SEO is a mixture of attracting

them and how you ll be able to emulate or improve their tactics. It s not about copying; it s

  • 2. My Reflection Of Skype Skype Reflection I will start by saying that our conversations with everyone over Skype has been my favorite thing I have had the pleasure to do since I have been in college. It was different, informative, intriguing, and easily the most interesting exchange I have ever had. I not only appreciate having been given the opportunity to be a part of this conversation, but feel fortunate to have taken part in learningabout others and their way of life. After speaking with Chris Saunders and Panos and Stefania, I re read Hofstede s dimensions and felt I learned more and understood it better after speaking with them. I feel that I can read something repeatedly, but having a good example and seeing it first hand is the best learning experience I can have. To have a good take away from the book with an even better example was the best way to learn this subject. When speaking to Chris Saunders from Wales and England, I first noticed that he seemed as nervous as we did. He was able to answer our questions with great content and was really funny. I felt that he had a great amount of individuality and held true to his own beliefs. I also feel that Chris showed that he fits into the masculinity dimension as he is successful as a writer and driven as a teacher. Since he has moved around so much, he shows that he personally has a low uncertainty avoidance, as he can take risks and is less resistant to change. An example of this is he was able to move to China, not knowing much about the culture or the language and take the changes as they came at him. When it came to talking to Chris, I think what surprised me the most was that there is a gap between 16 and 18 from what we would call high school to college. In the United States kids wouldn t know what to do with themselves and I can t imagine what kind of trouble they would get into. It also surprised me that he has lived in so many places. He has had the opportunity to learn so about so many cultures and meet so many people and that is incredible. My impressions of Chris were that he is very intelligent and funny. He has a great sense of what he wants in life and is able to accomplish those goals. Because of his individuality he is able to make his own choices and do ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The model requires that the user choose from different photovoltaic system models, and depending on that choice, possibly choose from different modules and different inverter component models. The software offers a package of performance and financial for projects with different financial structures. SAM s reports use consistent assumptions for the different models to facilitate comparing technology and financing options. SAM is one of many photovoltaic system models available, but is unique in the way it integrates a photovoltaic performance model with a detailed financial model for a given project, and in its ability to compare photovoltaic systems to other renewable energy systems. • 6. Alice Walker and the Color Purple Alice Walker is an African American woman s activist/feminist and author who was born in the early 1940s, in Eatonton, Georgia. Walker lived in the the rural south at a time when there were heavy poverty and racial violence amongst most African Americans. The circumstances that Walker faced ended up contributing to the person that she is today and it is reflected in many of her novels. Even throughout the trials and tribulations that Walker endured, she was still able to succeed in life. As a young child, Walker had an accident with a BB gun and ended up going blind in one eye. Because of this injury, this turned Walker into a very timid and shy child, Walker eventually graduated and left home to go to college and later got involved in the civil rights movement in Mississippi. Many years later in Walkers young adult life, she endured major depression from having to deal with the termination of her pregnancy. In the 1960s, she returned to Mississippi, where she met a Jewish civil rights law student named Mel Leventhal, where they eventually married and moved to Mississippi. Alice eventually got pregnant, but unfortunately miscarried the baby. Over the years, she channeled many of the experiences that she faced into fictional stories about the lives of blacks in America, especially woman in the South. The characters in Walkers writings faced a lot of the same trials that Walker herself endured such as, racism, violence, discrimination of woman, low self esteem, and etc. In the ... • 7. Compare And Contrast A Barred Owl And The History Teacher It s the dead of the night and the shrieking calls of a barred owl break the silence. A young child bolts upright in bed with fear written across her innocent face. A teacher s class is about to be taught a lesson on The Ice Age. The parents of the frightened child hush their daughter and say it was just an inquisitive owl that scared her awake. The teacher pulls on a sweater and says, Cavemen wore these a lot in The Ice Age. The children in these scenarios are the victims of deceit. Both poems, A Barred Owl and The History Teacher by Richard Wilbur and Billy Collins show the effects of not exposing children to the truth early on in life. The parent and teacher mentioned are only concerned about their children s innocence remaining intact, and they don t take into consideration how sheltering them from the truth life holds will affect the children s minds. Wilbur and Collins... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When the child was put to bed, the sky was probably not as dark as it was when she was woken by the owl. Wilbur s words reveal this when the poem begins on a lighter note than the gruesome ending. An owl has eyes that are much larger than those of the child mentioned. That being said, this barred owl can clearly see the world and the life around him. The child cannot due to the fact that her parents are preventing her from such exposure. Innocent minds deserve a healthy dose of reality provided in the form of truthful explanations from the adults in their lives. The poem, The History Teacher leans towards a more playful and bright tone than the tone Wilbur used in A Barred Owl. It almost sounds ironic that Collins titled the poem, The History Teacher because when spoken in a sarcastic tone it sounds like he s mocking the teacher. He calls him a history teacher sarcastically because the poet agrees with the fact that this teacher isn t actually teaching history. He s feeding the children ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A Critique on The Sociopath Next Door Down the street, in our workplaces, seemingly under our beds Harvard Medical Professor Martha Stout s Sociopath Next Door: The Ruthless vs. The Rest of Us sends the reader into a state of frightful paranoia when she mentions that a staggering 1 in 25, 4%, persons is, in fact, a sociopath. A sociopath, as Stout asserts, is a person with the lack of a conscience, thus a person not concerned with the suffering of others, to worry only about itself. She goes on to tell us that, because the rate of sociopaths in our society is so high, we must have already met hundreds without knowing it, due to the elusive and enigmatic nature of this psychological disease. Moving on, any skeptic reading this book would surely have a plethora of questions for the professor. How, exactly, does one come up with the statistic of 1/25 in regards to the ratio of sociopaths to normal people? This question is rather baffling because, in the book, Stout states that there are many sociopaths which feign emotion for the sole purpose of progressing in life. How, then, do these people, faking a conscious, admit themselves to being a full fledged sociopath when they have been lying to themselves and others around them for the bulk of their lives? Stout either did not factor these individuals into her statistical evaluation, which would mean a great number more of sociopaths than perceived through this book, or that Stout, with this knowledge, made a conjecture. In any case, especially in the latter, this statistic cannot be trusted and should therefore not be taken as hard fact. Another gaping problem in this book is the lack of perspective provided by Stout in regards to a true sociopath, one that admits they have not remorse, no conscience; one who only wants to win. It would have been an eye opening experience to truly view the world through the eyes of a sociopath, which could have been accomplished through the course of a simple question and answer style interview. • 17. Importance Of Self Preservation In Hamlet The first principle of human nature is self preservation: the natural instinct to protect oneself physically and stay away from danger. In the tragedy, Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, Shakespeare brings new light to the idea of desire to maintain a sense of self,in a deeper more complex aspect of the term. As the play Hamletdelves into severe moral issues such as death and betrayal, Shakespeare demonstrates the importance of establishing a sense of self. The character of Ophelia is often dismissed as a flat, static character. However, through in depth analysis of her struggles and fate, Ophelia s as despair and tragedy can ultimately be traced back to one source: her lack of understanding and stability in selfhood. Throughout the play, it is clear that self preservation plays a critical role in protecting one s identity and values when individuals respond to competing demands; because when the ability to chose is taken away, an individual loses the clarity and sense of purpose from selfhood. When individuals lack the ability to defend their ideas and personal preferences to others, with confidence they will lose their identity and sense of self as they allow others to control their opinions and thoughts. Ophelia s lack of confidence in herself solidifies both Laertes and Polonius into occupying a dominant role expected of men in the 16th century. Polonius assures Ophelia that her obedience is the best thing for her, and creates this illusion of himself as a crutch she needs to respond to competing demands. Subsequently, when Ophelia finds herself torn between two loyalties her love for Hamlet, and her father s expectations, Polonius sways her to compliance with his ideas. I shall obey, my lord. (I, iv, 145 )This complete obedience of her father ultimately eliminates Ophelia s self preservation that would ensure her best outcome. It is clear her father s requests of her are not out of love and concern for Ophelia but for his own issues of vanity and securing his status. This can be seen in misalignments in Polonius claims, and the condescension in his words to Ophelia. As Laertes prepares to leave, Polonius grants him with advice, This above all: to thine own selfbe true. (I, iii, 84). He contradicts ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The reproductive system of the bloodroot is one that contain several strategies. The bloodroot limits self pollination, hoping that the pollinator landing on it will bring pollen from another to bloodroot to cross pollinate them. This happens when the stigma which is the middle of the flower and the female reproductive organs becomes receptive before the anthers which are the male reproductive organs. The first few days when the flower is opening the antlers bends over towards the outside of the flower, distancing themselves from the receptive stigma. Causes And Consequences Of The Great Recession CAUSES AND CONSEQUENCES OF THE GREAT RECESSION The most recent four years of the turbulent financial execution brought up a larger number of issues than gave answers about reasons for the Great Recession of 2008 2009. Most business analysts are faulting the land business sector breakdown and the tailed it budgetary emergency as fundamental driver of the Recession. Be that as it may, the genuine macroeconomic reason was the change of the national macroeconomic approach from the Demand backing to Supply bolster methodology amidst 1980s. In this article I am going to discuss the reasons of the Great Recession and its results. The monetary methodology before 1980 s has been based on the thoughts of the full job and the wages development as the consequence of the development of profitability. The full vocation and the wages development have empowered the increment in the interest for merchandise and administrations. • 33. Depression, Marital Distatisfaction, And Marital... There have been many studies done which found a correlation between depression, marital satisfaction, and marital dissatisfaction. Depression is defined as a medical illness that causes feelings of sadness, loss of interest, change in appetite, feelings of worthlessness, and many other symptoms including thoughts of death and suicide. Many researchers measure depression using various methods such as affective self reports. Depression is often seen amongst teenagers and some adults, but depression affects many others persons within our social networks. This can be explained by the socialization hypothesis established by Shakya (2015) which states that individuals influence one another in a way that one individual s psychological issues, such as depression or happiness, will spread to other social contacts, much like the spread of an infectious disease. Thus, depression can negatively affect marital satisfaction. Marital satisfaction refers to whether the partners are content with their marriage and is often measured through a combination of behavioral, affective, and cognitive self report measures. If depression negatively affects marital satisfaction, then it will be contributing to marital dissatisfaction. Marital dissatisfaction indicates the negative evaluation of a person s marital affairs. It is also measured through a combination of behavioral, affective, and cognitive self report measures. • 34. Immigration Policy And Foreign Policy Immigration policy and foreign policy are in many ways interlinked, as they are often used to meet goals in one another s policy areas. Together, they are used to enhance the safety of our citizens, making this topic particularly important. Immigration is specifically linked to our foreign policy efforts with underdeveloped countries (Keely 1978). To fully understand one policyarea, you must understand aspects of the other. Thus, one should consider these relationships when analyzing and evaluating Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump s policies on immigration reform. Immigration policy can often be used as a tool for foreign policy goals. This usually occurs when national safety is threatened, and it is sparked by merely the perception that immigration and terrorism are linked. Many believe that terrorists can enter our country by manipulating Immigration laws such as refugee asylums, which leads to stricter immigration policy to better secure our national safety (Franzblau 1997, 4 11). Even now, the Republican Nominee for President of the United States, Donald Trump, makes statements like, our immigration system is being used to attack us (Hensch 2015). Regardless of the truth value behind his statement, it is relevant to note that the notion itself by such an important political figure could create a push for stricter immigration policy.
