Analysis Of Greg Bishop s Finding Myself
Finding Myself by Greg Bishop is an article written about how Bishop was mistaken for another
man of the same name. Bishop, out of the blue, was asked almost daily if he had lost weight or
if he played in the NFL. Bishop was fully aware he didn t fit the claims, so he looked into it.
Turns out, there was a Wikipedia article on the NFL player Greg Bishop, but his photo was
replaced by the Bishop of this article. Astounded, Bishop decided to get into contact with the NFL
player. After deep research and plenty of emails being bounced back, Bishop was able to find the
cellphone number of the other Greg Bishop. They talked and they found out they have pretty
similar backgrounds. I would have never thought an event like this would

The Top Airline Industry
Executive summary
Being one of the top airline industry for almost half a decade, Kingfisher airline went into
bankruptcy recently. Unstable top management coupled with some bad decisions hampered the
growth of kingfisher Airlines. Constant change in the management, sudden shift from economy
segment to luxury segment, a decision to buy Air Deccan even though Kingfisher was not making
enough profits, lack of strategic decision from top management to tackle the soaring fuel prices tied
with some other unhealthy decisions made them to face the contraction portion of business cycle.
Kingfisher Airlines did not recover well from that stage and at the certain time even government
denied to bailout kingfisher from bankruptcy, management staff went on indefinite strike because of
the unpaid salaries, as time passed by customers started to lose trust and there were no hopes for
kingfisher other than shutting down. This case study focuses on some of the major reasons for the
failure along with our analytical view depicted with some of the foremost principles of quality
management. Being business graduates we endeavored to give some of results and
recommendations which would have saved them from bankruptcy.
Background
Kingfisher is an Indian airline company that was established in 2003 by Vijay Mallya, the chairman
of United Breweries Group. While founded in 2003, it wasn t until May 9, 2005 that Kingfisher
Airlines started commercial airline operations. Kingfisher then advanced

The Theory Of Nursing Care
Nursing care through theory has continual made changes to provide the best care for patients across
the spectrum. From nursing models, to concepts, to evidence based practices that have stemmed
from theories, nursing care advances have come a long way. Theories have been the fundaments of
nursing to help nurses provide efficient care through structure , unity , assessing, planning, and
implementing interventions (White Zaccagnini, 2014).This paper will discuss how theories have
guided patient centered care in helping decrease infections in cancer who have central lines that
developed chemotherapy induced neutropenia.
There have been many advances in oncology care; unfortunately infections from healthcare settings
and the community are a major cause of hospitalizations and death in patients receiving
chemotherapy treatment via central lines. As healthcare providers, preventing infection with
patients who develop chemotherapy induced neutropenia can significantly decrease mortality and
morbidity for patients with cancer (Bush, Davis, Friese, Gillespie, Nirenberg, Rice, 2009).
Oncology nurses play a vital role in educating other healthcare providers, patients and family
members, on chemotherapy side effect with patients who are neutropenic, especially handling the
central line.
Fawcett described four core concepts common to the individual paradigms, patient environment
health nursing, that were derived from existing nursing theories (Fawcett, 1984). The concept of the

The Man Who Quit Money By Mark Sundeen
Born this way Selfishness is defined as the stinginess resulting from a concern of your own
welfare and the disregard of others. Selfishness, once passing a certain level, is seen as a
character flaw by many people. Where does selfishness come from? Is it a trait in which as
humans we pick up over time, or is it an animalistic trait in which we are born with and have no
control over? Author Mark Sundeen tells us the story of Daniel Suelo, in the book The Man Who
Quit Money. Daniel Suelo was a mid aged man, who decided to drop everything and live on his
own without the use of money; he would no longer live the typical American lifestyle and survive
strictly on the kindness of others and the leftovers he could find in dumpsters.... Show more content

I didn t truly understand it at the time, but as I grow older and mature I am beginning to
understand more and more. Also, in that same conversation, my father told me about some of
the people he works with and works for, and how they give back but often only in the spotlight.
They will donate money when the attention is on them, or they will do charity events when the
media is involved. Looking back at it, this is a very selfish idea. When do we hit that point in our
life where we are so selfish that we can not help others; is it a conscious decision or are we just not
aware of our actions? I have seen this same of idea of selfishness in my own experiences. I went to
a very wealthy private school, with many students coming very wealthy families. Often these
families would donate money to the school, but in return they expected a plaque or they
expected something to be named after them, some kind of recognition. Some people will say
this is not selfish because they are giving back; however, others will say this is a selfish action
because they are only giving looking for a return. People often jump to the conclusion that Daniel
Suelo is very unselfish because he doesn t have any money, and because he will work jobs for free.
In my eyes Daniel Suelo can be seen as a selfish person, not with money because he

Analysis Of The Novel Mister Pip
In my opinion a novel has to capture the reader s attention in the first two pages and hold that same
attention throughout the whole journey for it to be a novel that is worthwhile reading. Lloyd Jones
literary style throughout the novel Mister Pip is captivating, compelling, grotesque and
enlightening all at once. Through the various personalities and explorations of each characterand
through back stories that unfold through flashbacks and story telling, Lloyd Jones lures the reader
into the story.
When readers express their fondness for a novel it is generally because the first few pages reel
them in and intrigues them to learn more about the story to come. Lloyd Jones opens the novel
with a detailed description of one of the main characters Mr Watts. By starting the book with
Everyone called him Pop Eye. (page 1) creates a mystery about who Mr Pop Eye and Mrs Pop
Eye could be and why they are so important to be the introduction to the novel, this gives the
impression that he is a major key character to the plot of this novel. It is also the introduction to
Bougainville and the time of place that the reader is taken to. We learn that Papua New Guinea
is rich with copper and that most of the men on the island have moved away from the villages to
work at the mine and the women and children are left to look after the village with the exception
of a couple of older men that would be able to do the more difficult jobs that women couldn t do

Serviceman Dorie Miller Essay
During the Second World War, be that as it may, African Americans discovered chances to
oppose these predispositions. One such illustration happened on December 7, 1941, when Pearl
Harbor was assaulted by the Japanese. Serviceman Dorie Miller dragged his leader to wellbeing
and, deprived of any formal battle preparing, kept an eye on an automatic weapon, shooting
down a few Japanese planes. Mill operator was granted the Navy Cross for his dauntlessness on
May 27, 1942, getting to be distinctly one of the initially perceived legends of World War II.
Prior to the Japanese assaulted Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941, Miller was prohibited from serving
in battle since he was dark. Rather, he worked in the cafeteria. Yet, when the bombs dropped on
his ship, Miller rushed to the deck, moved the ship s harmed chief out of damage s way, and
began terminating on warplanes, as indicated by military records. In 1942, Miller was granted the

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
People generally appreciate the sight of a clean desk, or a good system to keep files tabbed and
organized in a given space. Of course, there are those who believe they work more efficiently in a
cluttered area, or claim to remember where an object was placed but now cannot seem to find it.
However, once organization, daily rituals , or the unbearable urge to adjust something comes into
play, Psychologydescribes this as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) or also referred to as
Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder (OCPD). The mental strains inside a person with
OCD or OCPD can become psychologically dangerous for relationships or quality of life for that

How To Write A Paper On Totem Poles
Did you ever wonder what these scary looking figures were that was on totem poles? Totem poles
were initiated from the Northwest Indian tribes. They are built using symbolic objects from
Elements of Nature, Colors, and Geometrical shapes that represent stories, myths, and/or an
important event. I chose seven items that share the same qualities as me. To elaborate, I picked a
unicorn, monkey, elephant, lotus, dolphin, dog and the color blue because they represent my story.
The first item I chose was the unicorn. I chose this because it represents my positivity and
creativity. This majestic animal is unique just like me. Everyone is different in their own ways, just
like how unicorns are un similar to horses.

I chose an elephant because it could possibly represent good luck and health. Furthermore,
elephants symbolize my religious beliefs. Since elephants are a big part of Buddhism, I wanted
to imply it on my totem pole. Ever since I was younger, I would go to a Buddhist monastery to
pray and learn more about my religion. I wanted this to be included on my totem pole because my
religion means a lot to me.
The fourth item is a lotus flower. I chose a lotus flower because it symbolizes my calm and
peaceful attitude. Not only that but it shows everyone s true beauty inside. Meaning outside is
beautiful but once you observe more you can see all the little details that make up this flower.
Despite the fact that a lotus begins on a muddy surface. It grows up to be a beautiful flower.
Additionally, Lotus are very gentle and delicate.
The fifth item on my totem pole is an adorable mammal. It s a dolphin! I chose a dolphin because
they are a lot similar to humans. To me, dolphins represent my joy and happiness every day. To
elaborate, dolphins and I are extremely friendly and cheerful. We both will support our family and
friends with anything.Dolphins and human both care about everyone very much and nothing will

Alpha Male Stereotypes
The Stereotype of The Alpha Male
For past years to current times striking fear and rejection of society, has forced men to create a
stereotype that compensates their deep insecurities, low esteem, and incompetence to value women.
In the course of time, the Alpha Male has developed different characteristics which can easily
distinguish him from everybody else. If those characters are analyzed, it can be understood
furthermore more deep the reason behind this behavior. From a scientific definition, the Alpha Male
is considered in the animal kingdom the leader of his social group, although his leadership comes
with the benefits he is not driven by narcissistic purposes but for the well being of his pack. In
contrast with the social Alpha male, the just mentioned attributes are not present.
Media has portrayed this character in different ways, but for most researchers online, Ryan
Gosling in his portrayal of his character Jacob Palmer from the movie Crazy Stupid Love is the
perfect example of the modern Alpha Male. The famous scene that takes place in the bar in which
his character is set alone in a dark bar club with dimmed lights illuminating the bar counter, reclining

From being one of the greatest innovators of all time and developing products like the first radio

mobile market. Before even the split of Motorola to Motorola mobility and Motorola Solutions the
decline had started. A combination of bad decisions led to its fall and led to Motorolalosing
relevance in the market.
In 1990 Motorola s annual revenues were of the tune of 11 billion under the leadership of Bob
Galvin and was raked in the top 50 companies of all times. It was the first company to develop Lean
Six Sigma processes to deal with the onslaught of Japanese companies. Also by 1994 almost 60%

Affordable Care Act Analysis
Obamacare, also known as The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, or ACA, was enacted in
2010 under the Barack Obama administration. The Affordable Care Act does five main things: it
enacts insurance market reforms, establishes an employer mandate, creates new federal and state
health insurance exchanges, institutes an individual mandate, and expands Medicaid eligibility.
This historical piece of legislation was met with much confrontation, forcing the Obama
administration to cut deals and negotiate terms with opposing parties in order to get the act passed.

The Meaning of Displacement
The meaning of displacement in this context must be limited, of course, to persons who move
from their homes, but would prefer not to. Obviously, people move all the time for many
reasons; indeed, it is estimated that half of all urban residents move every five years. Direct
displacement in the rental market from gentrification would occur when a landlord raises rents
precipitously or withdraws a unit from the market to refurbish it or sell it for owner occupation in
order to take advantage of neighborhood changes. These reflect the most troubling harm from
gentrification: the displaced persons are forced to move from their homes and often from their
neighborhoods by forces beyond their control. Such persons may experience social dislocation
and a psychological wrench from the severing of emotional ties. Such harms will be aggravated
when the displaced person must seek housing in a market of rising rents. Direct displacement may
also occur when an owner occupier feels she must sell when rising property values sharply increase
the amount of property taxdue. Yet, here the story is more complicated because the owner also has
an asset increasing in value that provides opportunities as well as costs. Indirect displacement
occurs when, upon the voluntary departure of existing residents, the owner raises rents, or removes
the unit from the market. The harm here is the loss to the neighborhood of an affordable dwelling.
Indeed, both types of displacement, direct and indirect,

Animal Vaporization
According to Dickerson et al., many animals, including dogs, have loose skin that is beneficial to
shaking off water. Through video evidence, it was determined that the maximum deflection of dog
fur while shaking is 90В°. The average dog s dermal tissue, all substance between the fur and
muscles, has a maximum deflection of 60В°, measured by rotating the skin around the dog s bodies
while standing stationary. Through subtraction, it can be deduced that the maximum vertebral
deflection is 30В°. This extra skin is advantageous, as it triples the amplitude at which the fur
oscillates. An animal will shake at the maximum speed possible, in attempts to shed the most water.
A greater amplitude will increase the distance over which the fur travels, О”d,... Show more content

Vaporization is a process that requires an input in energyto allow the liquid molecules to overcome
intermolecular attractions and separate, which would be partially taken from the animal.
George S. Bakken calculated an estimate coefficient for this issue, providing the efficiency of
evaporation, (heat of vaporization supplied by the animal)/(heat of vaporization supplied by the
animal + heat of vaporization supplied by the environment), to be approximately .37 for a large
sized dog of torso diameter 20 centimeters (Bakken, 1976). Further, through observation, it was
seen, on average, an animal would be able to remove up to 70 percent of its accumulated water
via shaking (Dickerson, et al., 2012). Given the heat of vaporization formula, q=mHv, where
q=heat, m=mass of the water, and Hv=heat of vaporization, the heat loss in an animal through
water evaporation can be calculated. A. K. Dickerson et al. distinguished a trend for the relation
between the mass of an animal and the mass of the water held by its fur:
MWater=0.047MAnimal0.97. Lastly, the heat of vaporization of water is 2.257x106 J/kg. Thus,
the simulated calculation of energy loss due to evaporation in a large dog is found

Mambo Dance History
The mambo genre and dance style have a linked history. Since its origins in Cuba, Mambo has
evolved into many dance forms, each one sporting different footwork and moves. All of these new,
fast pace movements originated from the basic Mambo dance, which was popularized by
DГЎmaso PГ©rez Prado. The lively mambo song, Mambo No. 5 was composed and performed
in 1952 by the Cuban Mexican band leader Perez Prado. He was famously known as the King of
the Mambo . Prado recorded numerous mambos and when he ran out of inspiration, he would
simply number them. Mambo No. 5 was the most famous out of a series of 8 mambos.

upbeat adaptation of the Cuban culture. At the height of the mambo movement in 1955, Prado hit
the American charts at number one with his self composed Mambo No.5. The sound of this
composition is lively and upbeat. The song is mostly instrumental comprised of a few monophonic
vocals towards the end of the song. It has a polyphonic texture, where the wind instruments play
several independent melodies and the percussion is in the background as the harmony. The most
recognizable instruments in the piece are the trumpet, saxophone, timbales and the drums. The

Globe Theater Essay
Unlike today s spectacles, a Shakespearean playhouse goer really had to use their imagination;
there were no backdrops, no lighting to speak of, horrific acoustics, and few, if any, props (

Io Research Paper
The Io Volcano Observer (IVO) is one mission under the New Frontiers program planned to
launch on May 29th, 2021 and reach Jupiter by 2026. Led by Alfred McEwen of the University of
Arizona, it is focused on observing one of Jupiter s satellites, Io, which has been deemed one of the
best satellites for studying tidal heating and the histories of terrestrial planets due to its active
volcanic surface. The aforementioned tidal heating is directly correlated to the habitable zones of
planetary systems and, thus, could help us better understand how a planetary system becomes
habitable and which planetary systems, aside from our own, currently are. IVO also plans to
understand the interior structure of Io, particularly the melting fraction of the magnetosphere.

possibility for the inclusion of a wide angle camera, a second INMS, a contributed NIR

A Comparison Of Laurie And Open Window
In my essay I will be comparing two stories that I have read one of the story was named Laurie
and the other one was named Open Window. These two stories are very similar dealing with
younger kids lying to older people. To me one of the stories was more damaging to another
person life than the other. In these stories the kids were telling unnecessary lies and also lies to
cover up for themselves. Because the kids parents were absent this gave them leverage to do what
they wanted to. First, I would like to talk about Laurie, it was his first day of kindergarten. Laurie

was going through a rough time in his life to the point where he was depressed. Mr.Nuttel moved

The young girl asked Mr.Nuttel you may wonder why we keep that window open on an October
afternoon . She began to tell him a story three years ago, her husband and her two young brothers
went off for their s day shooting and they never came back . She told Mr.Nuttel their bodies were

someday, they and the little brown spaniel that was lost with them. When the aunt returned she
apologizes for her lateness and stated I hope you don t mind the window open and also she stated
my husband and brothers will be home directly from shooting and they always come in this way .
Mr.Nuttel believing what the girl had told was trying to avoid the topic about the people that had

What Are The Ethical Ethics Of Nike
Introduction
When growing an enterprise that you wish to compete on a global market, what needs to be
taken into consideration is scaling. Most importantly for investors, what will it cost to expand
this company and offer their products on a global scale? This is what Nike faced in the 1980 s
when they expanded by outsourcing their production Asia, 86% of their production housed
primarily in Korea and Taiwan by 1986, (Locke, 2002) with only 17% remaining in the US by
the end of the 1990 s. By manufacturing off shores in low wage countries, Nike garnered the
nickname Sweat Shop as most people in the 1990 s believed their practices to be unethical. For the

Importance to Be on Time in the Military Essay example
It is important to be on time, both in the Army and in the civilian sector, for multiple reasons.
Among these reasons, the ones that stand out to me the most are unprofessionalism, being fired,
receiving adverse disciplinary actions, and failing your co workers/comrades. Being late or
tardy to work can cause not only yourself but everyone at your place of employment problems.
When being late or tardy, you are showing that you are not a professional. It can also be assumed
that you do not care or respect your job the way you should or need to. When your employer
begins to think that you are careless with your job or don t care about your job they can decide

affects the trust that my leadership has towards me. I know in order to be a successful soldier I
must show leadership qualities at all times. I know by me not showing up for work made it look
like I don t have selfless service. I know that I must put my nations, my units, and my battle
buddies needs before my own in order to accomplish the mission successfully and smoothly. I
know that when I failed to show up for duty that I not only showed lack of responsibility but also
a lot discipline. I could write this essay and fill it with tons of excuses as to why I was late to my
point of duty, but the fact of the matter is that I was late and there is no excuse, being on time
and at the right place of duty is extremely important. When I am late it makes everyone else run
behind because they were too busy trying to figure out where I was and what I was doing to
cause me not to be at my place of duty. Not to mention that when everything is running behind and
then we all have to end up staying way later than we would have had to stay in the first place. It

America And The American Dream
Land of Opportunity, Home of the Brave, and Land of the Free often come to mind when
envisioning the United States for most individuals around the world. Through the media, America
and the American Dream is depicted as the salvation for poverty, sorrow, and hardship. The
Founding Fathers invented the American Dream, offering life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Unfortunately, an abundance of immigrants were falling short of possessing the American Dream
and slowly began to realize that these alluring portrayals were merely a facade. Wealthy and
influential corporations needed to revitalize the American Dream before it would dissolve amongst
the masses. In order to keep American deception ongoing, a new American Dream was
implemented into society. This time, it was not affecting individuals careers and lifestyles, it was
affecting their identity and their consumerist behavior. The American Dream embodies the
accessibility of opportunities, the longing for social acceptance, and the yearn for economic
acquisition (awk). Consumerismharvests this elusive dream by perpetuating an ideology of an
empty identity through media marketing, corporate imperialism, and the limitless consumption of
brands that construct identity. American colonization sprouts from greed and the desire to possess
a greater need. As a result, this imperialistic mindset has transformed into consumerism through
abrasive expansion of many large corporations. In Bruce Forbes s Mickey Mouse

Control Mechanisms
Control Mechanisms Control mechanisms are necessary in order for any business to run smoothly
and ensure that things are going as planned. These controls help the business determine the activity
and direction of its employees in a manner that helps the company meet its goals (Bateman Snell,
2007). There are three basic types of controls: bureaucratic, market, and clan. Bureaucratic control
basically consists of the formal rules and regulations that establish authority, set standards, and
regulate behaviors (Bateman Snell). Market control regulates activities by examining the
competition, analyzing profit and loss, and utilizing economic information (Bateman Snell). Clan

Market Controls provide a natural incentive for employees to enhance their skills so that they may

the complete value of an organization adequately. The employees often suffer as companies are

A Brief Note On Culture And Everyday Life
Culture and Everyday Life
The term culture itself, is very broad. It is defined in many different ways by many different
people around the world. Culture includes all the aspects from your everyday life. Most people
don t know it, but everything you do is part of your culture; it is a tradition. Culture consists of
things such as clothes, family, food, and religion, all the way to recreation, gender roles, music, and
art. However, when you enter a new type of environment with your own cultural heritage, it forces
you to adapt and change. With this, a person s culture consistently informs the way we view the
world and others. This is especially true when people s cultural traditions are confronted with a new
culture and environment. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Inhibitory Control
Inhibitory control has been defined as a structure that grants the suppression of actions that are
considered not appropriate (Bjorklund Harnishfeger, 1995). This structure is a weighty component
in completing how mental processes work together in the achievement of a task (Dowsett Livesey,
2000). Older research has suggested that the development of inhibitory control in homo sapiens was
a major factor in the evolution of intelligence (Stenhouse, 1974). Later research further supports this
claim by suggesting that Inhibitory control is important in intelligence (Kochanska, Murray,
Jacques, Koenig, Vandegeest, 1996). Research into inhibitory control has found that Inhibitory
control is linked to impairment in a substantial amount of neurological disorders (Peterson et al.,
1998). Inhibitory control is typically... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Further research on the A not B taskby Diamond (1991) supported the finding that young infants
have poor inhibitory control (Diamond, 1991). Strooping tasks with negative priming have been
used to measure inhibitory control. The findings from this task have suggested that unwanted
responses may be inhibited (Pritchard Neumann, 2009). There have also been other ways to
measure inhibitory control. Among populations where inhibitory control has been found to be
impaired, fMRI scans have been used to measure inhibitory control. For example, fMRI scans have
been used to measure inhibitory control among those with autism (Kana, Keller, Minshew Just,
2007; Agnostou, Sorrya, Fan, Stamper, Hollander, 2006). Neuroimaging research has also been
used among populations where inhibitory control has been found to be impaired. For example,

The Pros And Cons Of The Overland Campaign
The Overland Campaign, which saw the bloodiest fighting in the continent of North American,
was a necessary evil to end the American Civil War. Starting on May 4th of 1864, the newly
promoted Lieutenant General Ulysses S. Grant committed to destroying Robert E. Lee and his
Army of Northern Virginia in the field. First, one must look at what the Overland Campaign
entailed. Next, this paper will examine previous major Northern victories and consider the
differences between them and Grant s campaign. Finally, one can come to the conclusion that
the Overland Campaign effectively helped end the war and without it, fighting was sure to be
prolonged. After his successes in the West, U. S. Grant became the first Lieutenant General
since George Washington on March 2nd of 1864 and assumed command of the entire Union
Army. Hopes were high for General Grant, seen in a letter the previous year, President Abraham
Lincoln expressed his trust for Grant when he that he originally feared it was a mistake in
regards to his attack on Vicksburg and I now wish to make the personal acknowledgment that you
were right, and I was wrong. Heretofore, Union Generals in the East focused on capturing specific
cities, however, Grant wanted to cripple the Confederate Army. In a letter from Grant to Major
General George Meade before the Overland Campaign began, he outlined his intentions of the
operation, writing that Lee s army will be your objective point. Wherever Lee goes, there you will

Lords of War Simulation
The Lords of War Simulation is best described by the neo liberalist theory. Neo liberalism best
describes this game because it supports the ideology that everything humans do is in their own
self interest. The theory also believes that people only cooperate with each other out of fear;
actions of people playing Lords of War validate this theory. To succeed, neo liberals need
cooperation, institutions to mediate, as well as a fear of being defected on. Neo liberals do not
feel that humans are good in nature, but will argue that they have the capacity to bond together for
the greater good, for their own personal benefit.

Other theorists would try and say that in the Lords of War simulation, people were only going to
do what would make them the most powerful, and realist would say that all of the participants
would have defected even with the institutions; and even though some people still defected, the
majority did cooperated. Realists would also say that a security dilemma would have occurred,
and people would have tried to make allies to only help themselves, whereas people cooperated
out of fear of losing trust, thus making them an opponent to be defected on consistently.
Constructivists would argue that people shared a sense of identity and norms, but this game
proved that there was no collective identity or norms to be shared. People just played the game in
accordance to their own wants, needs and personal beliefs. And the liberals would argue that
people are genuinely good and will come together to act in the best nature for all. This game has

Examples Of Diversity In One Amazing Thing
Tragedies bring forth unity despite diversity.
Unity in diversity is the highest possible attainment of a civilization, a testimony to the most noble
possibilities to the human race. This attainment is made possible through passionate concern for
choice, in an atmosphere of social trust. (Michael Novak). When we try to recognize our common
passivity, it may be frightening at first, but it can inspire us to put forth acts of affection, warmth

Persuasive Essay On Ice Cubes
I circled the boy in the right in the snowman cartoon because his position of thinking is that the
jacket will keep the snowman cold and stop him from melting. Covering the snowman with a
jacket will prevent him from melting and will allow him to last a little bit longer because the
jacket will trap the air and heat going through so easily, which will stop the snowman from
melting. The jacket will protect the snowman from the outside air. My predictions for the ice
cubes are that, first the unwrapped one will melt faster comparing to all the others ice cubes that
are wrapped in plastic, aluminum foil, newspaper and hand towel. The unwrapped one will melt
faster because the air will be in direct contact with it giving energy to ice to melt.

Civilian Job Specifications and the Army Leadership Attributes Civilian Organizations and the
Army as an Organization Phillip Pandy University of Texas at El Paso Abstract The Army is
one of the largest organizations in the world. The Army is global; the Army is technologically

Learning Theories And Their Application
The different learning theories and their application in e learning are discussed in this paper. This
paper provides a clear idea of learning and the various learning theories which helps people in the
acquisition of knowledge through their environments; and also the history and the role of
significant people involved in the development of those theories. It also provides the information
about the role of these theories in the process of making e learningmaterials, or in the process of e
learning.
INTRODUCTION
Learning, though seems to be an uncomplicated topic, it has a deep subject to go through. Firstly,
what is learning? Learning is simply defined as the process of acquiring, enhancing, or modifying
one s prevailing skills, knowledge, behavior, etc. Perceptional, emotional, and environmental
influences play an active role in the process of learning. The information that is acquired,
processed, and retained during learning is described by Learning Theory. Simply, learning theory
describes how the people learn.
There are three main categories in Learning Theories: Behaviorism, Cognitivism, and
Constructivism.
Behaviorism
Behaviorism is a theory of learning which defines that all behaviors are acquired through the
interaction with the environment. As stated in the writings of John B. Watson, B. F. Skinner, and
others, behavior can be studied through careful observation, irrespective of the internal mental
states. Behaviorists believe

The Approach Of The Software Artifact Summarization Paradigm
Our approach consists of following steps. First, we collected a corpus of code fragments,
containing 127 code fragments, extracted directly from the Eclipse and NetBeans Official
FAQs. Second, we hired human annotators to suggest summary lines i.e., Gold Summary Lines
(annotation). Third, we introduced crowdsourcing (data driven) as a problem solving model in
software artifact summarization paradigm, as it had not been employed before for software
artifact summarization, for extracting code features. Fourth, we trained two classifiers namely
Support Vector Machines (SVM) and Naive Bayes (NB) on code fragments. Next, we evaluated
the effectiveness of these classifiers on different statistical measures such as Accuracy,
Precision, Recall, F Score, True Positive Rate (TPR), False Positive Rate (FPR), Receiver
Operator Characteristic (ROC), and Area under curve (AUC). In the end, we performed feature
selection analysis to rank and determine the importance of selected features. In the sections
below, we discuss these steps one by one. 5.2.1 Corpus Creation We need a corpus of code
fragments to train and judge the effectiveness of our classifiers. Optimally, such a corpus would
have been made available before or created by experts in the field of code fragment summarization.
Previously, Ying et al. [94] have collected a corpus of code fragments containing 70 code fragments
from Eclipse Official FAQ. Since last year, additional 8 code fragments have been added to Eclipse

Milton Friedman And Richard Freeman Essay
Business ethics Name Institution Date Questions 1: Milton Friedman and Richard Freeman
represent differences that exist on the positions held by scholars with regards to the obligations
of a business firm. The major difference between the two is on the issues of corporation s
responsibilities to the society and the obligations to different groups. To whom does the
corporation owe much responsibility? Friedman offers his views based on the shareholders
theory. In his theory, he adopts the view that a corporation as an entity is just an artificial person
defined under the law, and thus can only have artificial responsibility. His major disagreements
are with those who hold the position that corporations have social responsibilities (Kaler, 2012,
p. 250). In his view, the obligations of a firm are first to the stockholders. As a result, its primary
should to maximize the stockholders profits under the set rules and regulations. This obligation
should always prevail against others. On social responsibilities of an organization, his views are
restricted to the position that only individuals are in a position to be held socially responsible.
However, he insists that those individuals in management are employees of the stockholders and
thus should only do that which is beneficial to the stockholders and in line with set legal
obligation (Kaler, 2012, p. 255). On the other hand, Richard Freeman provides a view that he
defines as the stakeholder s theory. By the word

Scheherazade s stories instilled upon him new enlightenment about right and wrong and how good
one feels when the right choices are made. She stirred raw emotion in her king, the likes he had

sought to help him understand his wrongdoing through the gentle persuasion and magic in her

madness, Scheherazade s stories and their powerful messages slowly but surely allow the King to

To say that the king spared Scheherazade s life in the end because he loved her would be

Symptoms And Treatment Of Appendicitis
Appendix Removal
WARNING: PLEASE DO NOT ACTUALLY TRY AND REMOVE YOUR FRIEND S
APPENDIX, THIS IS MORE OF A JOKE. With that being said, LET S BEGIN. All of a sudden,
your friend begins non stop complaining of lower abdominal pain, chills, fever, and a little
vomiting. Finally, after a few minutes of hearing them wail and moan, you decide to do something
about it. The question is: what do you do? So, you do what anyone in this odd predicament would
do, you ask google. After some searching on WebMD.com and MayoClinic.org, you conclude that it
has to be, without a reasonable doubt, appendicitis. Appendicitis is a serious medical condition in
which the appendix becomes inflamed and painful; if ruptured, it can actually be quite fatal.
After receiving all of the information you needed, you come to the resolution that there s no
time for you to take your friend to the hospital, so you re going to do it yourself. After more
questionable searching on the dark web, and a little memorization of steps; you prepare your
materials. The list of items goes as follows: A kitchen knife (maybe a scalpel, if you re fancy), a
sharpie, lots towels, some liquor, roofies (if you don t know where to obtain them, they may be
substituted with hard liquor), some rope, some gloves, a mason jar, and a sewing needle/needles,
and dissolvable floss/string. Here s a little anatomy lesson; the appendix is affixed adjacently to
small intestines, meaning it s connected to your small

The Character Of Sookan In Year Of Impossible Goodbyes
In the memoir Year of Impossible Goodbyes, Sookan changes from someone who is dependent
and becomes someone who is courageous. This change is seen in three moments: when Sookan
constructs the glass and rock round and dull, when Sookan preserves her food when trying to
flee to the south, and when Sookan took care of Inchun while fleeing to the South. An example
of Sookan being courageous is at her Japanese school and the children are in the schoolyard. The
glass and the rocks are being sharpened by the children to fight off the white devils, but Sookan
decides to make the glass and rocks round and dull. This situation has changed Sookan because at
the beginning of the story, she wouldn t have dared to do this because she was so frightened

The Internet And The Internet
The internet has made up many aspects of our lives. Sometimes these aspects aren t good, and
sometimes they aren t bad. Everytime you turn on your computer what s the first thing that you
open up? The majority of the time the internet browser is the very first thing you open up. Whether
it s to listen to music, watch a movie, or to online shop. Internetis an everyday part of our lives, for
college students it is essential to look at our grades. For teachers it is how they post our grades and
the majority of our homework assignments.
If someone asked you with all the syfy movies you watch how many of them are robot based
movies. Your response would most likely be a lot of them. In the worldtoday it s a real fear that not
just Americans but humans have that technology will take over the world. With every
technological advance we take there is always a group of people looking for ways to get through
back doors. Back doors lead to the dark web which is where people deal illegal drugs, sell body
parts and people. This is a prime example of that people repeat themselves time and time again
through the generations. In more recent years we have seen that in the automobile industry the jobs
became more automated the workers went on strike. They didn t show up to work and refused to
do so for days. This shows that even though we have been through a situation once we don t learn
from our mistakes. We read many articles the common factor through all of these articles is the

My Experience at Flagler College
As I reflect on my professional growth, I have also come a long way. When I consider where I
was at professionally, to where I am at now, my mind goes back to one event specifically; my
mock parent teacher conference. This was an assignment given to me in my 2nd semester of
coursework at Flagler College. For this assignment, we were expected to explain FCAT scores
to the parents (professors and other faculty posing as parents) of the student we were given
background information on previously. I was nervous after merely hearing about this assignment
because I have always struggled with speaking out loud when I am feeling anxious. During that
interview, it did not go at all how I planned; I was hysterical. Let it be known, I am not referring
to solely hysterically nervous, but to my embarrassment looking back, hysterically nervous on top
of hysterically crying. However, although it is a bit embarrassing, I am very thankful I had that
experience because after I walked out of that interview, I knew my weak area. I knew I needed to
work on in the improvement of my communicationskills and from that point on, that s just what I
did. In my most recent practicum experience at Chiles High School, there were two separate
occasions where I interacted with the parents of students. On one of those occasions, I was asked
to explain an assignment and share student results with the parent. That day, after my advising
teacher told me, I couldn t have said it better myself , I left the

Atticus s Racism
The black community is thankful to Atticus because he took time to represnt the case of a black
man, fighting for racism. This is ironic because even though the verdict of the judge was unfair, the
black community still celebrated Atticus, as someone finally stood up for their rights. They thanked
him by sending him hunks of salt pork, tomatoes, beans, even scuppernongs. . This was their way
of showing that they were greatful for the action Atticus took in helping the black community.
Atticus tells Scout It s not time to worry yet the day after the trial, as she is still upset about the
verdict and how Tom was treated unfairly. This tells her to be positive and optimistic, as she will
encounter other dilemmas during the life. This means

Why I Have A Healthcare Profession
During tenth grade, I decided to have a healthcare profession. Several people in my family work
in the health field as a psychiatrist, nurse, and doctor. In my country, Haiti, the option to go to
school was very limited because it s very expensive. My father saved up enough money, so we can
move to the United States. At the age of three, we came to the U.S. and my little brother Kenley
was born in this country. I accomplished my twelve year public education in Stamford, CT. I
graduated from Academy of Information Technology Engineering high school in 2013. Throughout
high school, I volunteered in the Stamford Hospital for three years. It was a great experience to
serve many different individuals. For example, I worked in departments such as Endoscopy, Patient
Transportation, Patient Registration, Maternity, Sunshine Team, and the Surgical Weight Loss.
Next, I attended a nursing program called Southern Westchester Boces in Harrison, NY on
September, 2014. In addition, I was assigned three nursing home locations and for each place I
stayed there for eight weeks. I learned nursing skills such as vital signs (pulse, temperature,
respirations, and blood pressure); administered medication; performed injections; provided care for
tracheostomy, gastrostomy, and wounds. I graduated on June 24, 2014 and it was a ten month
program. After graduating from a nursing school, it s a requirement to take the National Council
Licensure Examination known as the NCLEX to receive a nursing

Analysis of Online Banking Industry
According to King, McKay, Marshall, Lee and Viehland (2008) online banking or electronic
banking (e banking) includes various banking activities conducted via the Internet from home,
business, or on the road opposed to at a physical bank location. This paper shall compare and
contrast both the online and offline retail environment for banking services.
Internet banking offers great opportunities to the financial services industry, including:
a huge potential customer base
large economies of scale in investment
the possibility for services to be delivered using standardised modular software
easy management of software
a common browser front end
the possibility to be equipped with good security protocols
the easy application ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The sites must be user friendly and convey a feeling of security.
According to Zakaria (2003) even though Internet banking has been long established, one of the
most important factors that may be slowing its progression is customer s concern for security of
financial transactions over the Internet. In a recent Key Note consumer survey (conducted in 2008)
into attitudes towards electronic banking, 40% of respondents said that they liked to manage their
money using the Internet. The survey found men were slightly more likely than women to use this
channel. 51.3% of respondents postulated that they were concerned about the security aspects of
electronic banking and 25.1% of the sample would not trust an electronic bank with their money
(Source: Key Note Report 2008).
Due to the nature of the online environment it is difficult for banks to build trust and relationships
with their customers. The Internet is extremely impersonal due to its global audience, the bricks
and mortar location of the local branch with a smiling advisor is much more inviting in comparison
to a cold lifeless computer screen. Also the learning process involved in using e banking can be
daunting, customers must invest their time and effort into learning more to use and navigate their
way around the sites. Internet banking can also be time consuming to set up and registration
numbers and access codes can be misplaced, stolen or forgotten. Although

The Importance Of Media In Mass Media
There are many different media outlets, and alternatives available to individuals in today s society
to receive information other than what is available in mass media. One alternative media is PBS.
PBS is unlike many programming stations around the nation. Their idea is to treat people like
citizens and not as consumers. On the Public Broadcasting Servicewebsite, it describes how their
take on the news is quite different from other stations. They believe that they are America s
largest classroom, the Nation s largest stage, and a trusted window to the world (2016). I am
going to describe in the following paper the background of the Public Broadcasting Service, how
their view is different than corporate giants, and what type of future does a company like this have
in the kind of media world we live in today.
Public Broadcasting Service is a different kind of media outlet than many. PBS different than
other media sectors because it is a private and a nonprofit corporation (2016). The people that
make PBS the company it is today is the people that belong to America s television. The people of
America s television are noncommercial, educational licensees that operate in 350 member stations
and serve all 50 states (2016). PBS does not only provide broadcasting to the fifty states in the
United States, but they also inform the people of Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, and
American Samoa (2016).
One item that differentiates PBS from other media channels is their strong

21st Century Literacy In Education
Part A The digital world we live in is constantly changing and updating to include the most efficient
technology for everyday use. Children in today s society have grown up using the latest
smartphones, tablets, computers and televisions. It is no surprise that technology has made it s way
into schools and incorporated into classroom instruction. Robinson, McKenna and Conradi state
that technology in schools is here to stay...students must now be able to navigate hypermedia and to
compose using not only word processing software but desktop publishing systems capable of
integrating multimedia. The times, they are a changin (Robinson, McKenna Conradi, 2012, p.
223). Robinson, McKenna and Conradi discuss in their research about a common myth of 21st
Century literacy; that 21st century literacy is about technology only (Robinson, McKenna Conradi,
2012, p. 227). As an educator, I agree with Robinson, McKenna and Conradi that 21st Century
literacy is not only about technology. Technology is a wonderful supplement to learning literacy,
however it does not take the place of learning to read, write and orally communicate on a daily
basis. Studies of workforce readiness show that employers rate written and oral communication
skills very highly, and collaboration, work ethic, critical thinking, and leadership all rank higher
than proficiency in information technology (Robinson, McKenna Conradi, 2012, p. 227). As an
educator, I feel that it is important to remember

Single Variable Response ( Svr )
Single Variable Response (SVR) has been a methodology often used for qualitative analysis of
the training results obtained from Evolutionary neural network (EvoNN) and Bi Objective
genetic programming (BioGP) [Pettersson et~al., 2007], [Jha et~al., 2015b]. In SVR, a style of
variation is created by generating values between zero and one on time scale. The trend line is
irregular, that is there are regions of constant values, sharp increases and sharp decreases in the
line. This has been referred to as input signal in the following text. Here, an input signal is
furnished for each variable (alloying element). The response of that signal (that corresponds to that
particular variable) was checked with respect to the input signal for the objectives and constraints
trained through the selected model. For SVR testing, the input signal (trend of variation) was used
for one of the variables, while the other variables were kept constant at an average value. The
model output response was plotted against the variable trend. The various responses were tabulated
for each of the models. Following terminologies were used in SVR testing: 1. Direct: This means
that the model output increases on increasing the value of input signal and decreases on decreasing
the value. 2. Inverse: This means that a particular variable will affect the model output in opposite
manner. That is, if we quantitatively increase/decrease the value of that particular variable
(concentration of this

Bishop, out of the blue, was asked almost daily if he had lost weight or if he played in the NFL. Bishop was fully aware he didn t fit the claims, so he looked into it. Turns out, there was a Wikipedia article on the NFL player Greg Bishop, but his photo was replaced by the Bishop of this article. Astounded, Bishop decided to get into contact with the NFL player. Unstable top management coupled with some bad decisions hampered the growth of kingfisher Airlines. Constant change in the management, sudden shift from economy segment to luxury segment, a decision to buy Air Deccan even though Kingfisher was not making enough profits, lack of strategic decision from top management to tackle the soaring fuel prices tied with some other unhealthy decisions made them to face the contraction portion of business cycle. Kingfisher Airlines did not recover well from that stage and at the certain time even government denied to bailout kingfisher from bankruptcy, management staff went on indefinite strike because of the unpaid salaries, as time passed by customers started to lose trust and there were no hopes for kingfisher other than shutting down. From nursing models, to concepts, to evidence based practices that have stemmed from theories, nursing care advances have come a long way. Theories have been the fundaments of nursing to help nurses provide efficient care through structure , unity , assessing, planning, and implementing interventions (White Zaccagnini, 2014).This paper will discuss how theories have guided patient centered care in helping decrease infections in cancer who have central lines that developed chemotherapy induced neutropenia. There have been many advances in oncology care; unfortunately infections from healthcare settings and the community are a major cause of hospitalizations and death in patients receiving chemotherapy treatment via central lines. As healthcare providers, preventing infection with patients who develop chemotherapy induced neutropenia can significantly decrease mortality and morbidity for patients with cancer (Bush, Davis, Friese, Gillespie, Nirenberg, Rice, 2009). Oncology nurses play a vital role in educating other healthcare providers, patients and family members, on chemotherapy side effect with patients who are neutropenic, especially handling the central line. Fawcett described four core concepts common to the individual paradigms, patient environment health nursing, that were derived from existing nursing theories (Fawcett, 1984). The concept of the ... • 5. The Man Who Quit Money By Mark Sundeen Born this way Selfishness is defined as the stinginess resulting from a concern of your own welfare and the disregard of others. Selfishness, once passing a certain level, is seen as a character flaw by many people. Where does selfishness come from? Is it a trait in which as humans we pick up over time, or is it an animalistic trait in which we are born with and have no control over? Author Mark Sundeen tells us the story of Daniel Suelo, in the book The Man Who Quit Money. Daniel Suelo was a mid aged man, who decided to drop everything and live on his own without the use of money; he would no longer live the typical American lifestyle and survive strictly on the kindness of others and the leftovers he could find in dumpsters.... Also, in that same conversation, my father told me about some of the people he works with and works for, and how they give back but often only in the spotlight. They will donate money when the attention is on them, or they will do charity events when the media is involved. Looking back at it, this is a very selfish idea. When do we hit that point in our life where we are so selfish that we can not help others; is it a conscious decision or are we just not aware of our actions? I have seen this same of idea of selfishness in my own experiences. I went to a very wealthy private school, with many students coming very wealthy families. Often these families would donate money to the school, but in return they expected a plaque or they expected something to be named after them, some kind of recognition. Some people will say this is not selfish because they are giving back; however, others will say this is a selfish action because they are only giving looking for a return. People often jump to the conclusion that Daniel Suelo is very unselfish because he doesn t have any money, and because he will work jobs for free. In my eyes Daniel Suelo can be seen as a selfish person, not with money because he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Analysis Of The Novel Mister Pip In my opinion a novel has to capture the reader s attention in the first two pages and hold that same attention throughout the whole journey for it to be a novel that is worthwhile reading. Lloyd Jones literary style throughout the novel Mister Pip is captivating, compelling, grotesque and enlightening all at once. Through the various personalities and explorations of each characterand through back stories that unfold through flashbacks and story telling, Lloyd Jones lures the reader into the story. When readers express their fondness for a novel it is generally because the first few pages reel them in and intrigues them to learn more about the story to come. Lloyd Jones opens the novel with a detailed description of one of the main characters Mr Watts. By starting the book with Everyone called him Pop Eye. (page 1) creates a mystery about who Mr Pop Eye and Mrs Pop Eye could be and why they are so important to be the introduction to the novel, this gives the impression that he is a major key character to the plot of this novel. It is also the introduction to Bougainville and the time of place that the reader is taken to. We learn that Papua New Guinea is rich with copper and that most of the men on the island have moved away from the villages to work at the mine and the women and children are left to look after the village with the exception of a couple of older men that would be able to do the more difficult jobs that women couldn t do such as, Gilbert s father ... One such illustration happened on December 7, 1941, when Pearl Harbor was assaulted by the Japanese. Serviceman Dorie Miller dragged his leader to wellbeing and, deprived of any formal battle preparing, kept an eye on an automatic weapon, shooting down a few Japanese planes. Prior to the Japanese assaulted Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941, Miller was prohibited from serving in battle since he was dark. Rather, he worked in the cafeteria. Yet, when the bombs dropped on his ship, Miller rushed to the deck, moved the ship s harmed chief out of damage s way, and began terminating on warplanes, as indicated by military records. • 14. The Meaning of Displacement The meaning of displacement in this context must be limited, of course, to persons who move from their homes, but would prefer not to. Obviously, people move all the time for many reasons; indeed, it is estimated that half of all urban residents move every five years. Direct displacement in the rental market from gentrification would occur when a landlord raises rents precipitously or withdraws a unit from the market to refurbish it or sell it for owner occupation in order to take advantage of neighborhood changes. These reflect the most troubling harm from gentrification: the displaced persons are forced to move from their homes and often from their neighborhoods by forces beyond their control. Such persons may experience social dislocation and a psychological wrench from the severing of emotional ties. Such harms will be aggravated when the displaced person must seek housing in a market of rising rents. Direct displacement may also occur when an owner occupier feels she must sell when rising property values sharply increase the amount of property taxdue. Yet, here the story is more complicated because the owner also has an asset increasing in value that provides opportunities as well as costs. Indirect displacement occurs when, upon the voluntary departure of existing residents, the owner raises rents, or removes the unit from the market. The harm here is the loss to the neighborhood of an affordable dwelling. Indeed, both types of displacement, direct and indirect, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 16. Animal Vaporization According to Dickerson et al., many animals, including dogs, have loose skin that is beneficial to shaking off water. Through video evidence, it was determined that the maximum deflection of dog fur while shaking is 90В°. The average dog s dermal tissue, all substance between the fur and muscles, has a maximum deflection of 60В°, measured by rotating the skin around the dog s bodies while standing stationary. Through subtraction, it can be deduced that the maximum vertebral deflection is 30В°. This extra skin is advantageous, as it triples the amplitude at which the fur oscillates. An animal will shake at the maximum speed possible, in attempts to shed the most water. A greater amplitude will increase the distance over which the fur travels, О”d,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Vaporization is a process that requires an input in energyto allow the liquid molecules to overcome intermolecular attractions and separate, which would be partially taken from the animal. George S. Bakken calculated an estimate coefficient for this issue, providing the efficiency of evaporation, (heat of vaporization supplied by the animal)/(heat of vaporization supplied by the animal + heat of vaporization supplied by the environment), to be approximately .37 for a large sized dog of torso diameter 20 centimeters (Bakken, 1976). Further, through observation, it was seen, on average, an animal would be able to remove up to 70 percent of its accumulated water via shaking (Dickerson, et al., 2012). Given the heat of vaporization formula, q=mHv, where q=heat, m=mass of the water, and Hv=heat of vaporization, the heat loss in an animal through water evaporation can be calculated. A. K. Dickerson et al. distinguished a trend for the relation between the mass of an animal and the mass of the water held by its fur: MWater=0.047MAnimal0.97. Lastly, the heat of vaporization of water is 2.257x106 J/kg. Thus, the simulated calculation of energy loss due to evaporation in a large dog is found ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, IVO is expected to collect 20 GB of scientific data per encounter, which is nearly 100 times the Galileo mission received. Similarly, IVO is expected to only receive less than 10% of the ionizing radiation dose as Galileo. Through the media, America and the American Dream is depicted as the salvation for poverty, sorrow, and hardship. The Founding Fathers invented the American Dream, offering life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Unfortunately, an abundance of immigrants were falling short of possessing the American Dream and slowly began to realize that these alluring portrayals were merely a facade. Wealthy and influential corporations needed to revitalize the American Dream before it would dissolve amongst the masses. In order to keep American deception ongoing, a new American Dream was implemented into society. This time, it was not affecting individuals careers and lifestyles, it was affecting their identity and their consumerist behavior. The American Dream embodies the accessibility of opportunities, the longing for social acceptance, and the yearn for economic acquisition (awk). Consumerismharvests this elusive dream by perpetuating an ideology of an empty identity through media marketing, corporate imperialism, and the limitless consumption of brands that construct identity. American colonization sprouts from greed and the desire to possess a greater need. As a result, this imperialistic mindset has transformed into consumerism through abrasive expansion of many large corporations. In Bruce Forbes s Mickey Mouse ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Older research has suggested that the development of inhibitory control in homo sapiens was a major factor in the evolution of intelligence (Stenhouse, 1974). Later research further supports this claim by suggesting that Inhibitory control is important in intelligence (Kochanska, Murray, Jacques, Koenig, Vandegeest, 1996). It also provides the information about the role of these theories in the process of making e learningmaterials, or in the process of e learning. INTRODUCTION Learning, though seems to be an uncomplicated topic, it has a deep subject to go through. Firstly, what is learning? Learning is simply defined as the process of acquiring, enhancing, or modifying one s prevailing skills, knowledge, behavior, etc. Perceptional, emotional, and environmental influences play an active role in the process of learning. The information that is acquired, processed, and retained during learning is described by Learning Theory. Simply, learning theory describes how the people learn. • 39. The Approach Of The Software Artifact Summarization Paradigm Our approach consists of following steps. First, we collected a corpus of code fragments, containing 127 code fragments, extracted directly from the Eclipse and NetBeans Official FAQs. Second, we hired human annotators to suggest summary lines i.e., Gold Summary Lines (annotation). Third, we introduced crowdsourcing (data driven) as a problem solving model in software artifact summarization paradigm, as it had not been employed before for software artifact summarization, for extracting code features. Fourth, we trained two classifiers namely Support Vector Machines (SVM) and Naive Bayes (NB) on code fragments. Next, we evaluated the effectiveness of these classifiers on different statistical measures such as Accuracy, Precision, Recall, F Score, True Positive Rate (TPR), False Positive Rate (FPR), Receiver Operator Characteristic (ROC), and Area under curve (AUC). In the end, we performed feature selection analysis to rank and determine the importance of selected features. In the sections below, we discuss these steps one by one. 5.2.1 Corpus Creation We need a corpus of code fragments to train and judge the effectiveness of our classifiers. Optimally, such a corpus would have been made available before or created by experts in the field of code fragment summarization. Previously, Ying et al. • 40. Milton Friedman And Richard Freeman Essay Business ethics Name Institution Date Questions 1: Milton Friedman and Richard Freeman represent differences that exist on the positions held by scholars with regards to the obligations of a business firm. The major difference between the two is on the issues of corporation s responsibilities to the society and the obligations to different groups. To whom does the corporation owe much responsibility? Friedman offers his views based on the shareholders theory. In his theory, he adopts the view that a corporation as an entity is just an artificial person defined under the law, and thus can only have artificial responsibility. His major disagreements are with those who hold the position that corporations have social responsibilities (Kaler, 2012, p. 250). In his view, the obligations of a firm are first to the stockholders. As a result, its primary should to maximize the stockholders profits under the set rules and regulations. This obligation should always prevail against others. On social responsibilities of an organization, his views are restricted to the position that only individuals are in a position to be held socially responsible. However, he insists that those individuals in management are employees of the stockholders and thus should only do that which is beneficial to the stockholders and in line with set legal obligation (Kaler, 2012, p. 255). On the other hand, Richard Freeman provides a view that he defines as the stakeholder s theory. By the word ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

After some searching on WebMD.com and MayoClinic.org, you conclude that it has to be, without a reasonable doubt, appendicitis. Appendicitis is a serious medical condition in which the appendix becomes inflamed and painful; if ruptured, it can actually be quite fatal. After receiving all of the information you needed, you come to the resolution that there s no time for you to take your friend to the hospital, so you re going to do it yourself. After more questionable searching on the dark web, and a little memorization of steps; you prepare your materials. The list of items goes as follows: A kitchen knife (maybe a scalpel, if you re fancy), a sharpie, lots towels, some liquor, roofies (if you don t know where to obtain them, they may be substituted with hard liquor), some rope, some gloves, a mason jar, and a sewing needle/needles, and dissolvable floss/string. Here s a little anatomy lesson; the appendix is affixed adjacently to small intestines, meaning it s connected to your small ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. The Character Of Sookan In Year Of Impossible Goodbyes In the memoir Year of Impossible Goodbyes, Sookan changes from someone who is dependent and becomes someone who is courageous. This change is seen in three moments: when Sookan constructs the glass and rock round and dull, when Sookan preserves her food when trying to flee to the south, and when Sookan took care of Inchun while fleeing to the South. An example of Sookan being courageous is at her Japanese school and the children are in the schoolyard. The glass and the rocks are being sharpened by the children to fight off the white devils, but Sookan decides to make the glass and rocks round and dull. This situation has changed Sookan because at the beginning of the story, she wouldn t have dared to do this because she was so frightened ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. The Internet And The Internet The internet has made up many aspects of our lives. Sometimes these aspects aren t good, and sometimes they aren t bad. Everytime you turn on your computer what s the first thing that you open up? The majority of the time the internet browser is the very first thing you open up. Whether it s to listen to music, watch a movie, or to online shop. Internetis an everyday part of our lives, for college students it is essential to look at our grades. For teachers it is how they post our grades and the majority of our homework assignments. If someone asked you with all the syfy movies you watch how many of them are robot based movies. Your response would most likely be a lot of them. In the worldtoday it s a real fear that not just Americans but humans have that technology will take over the world. With every technological advance we take there is always a group of people looking for ways to get through back doors. Back doors lead to the dark web which is where people deal illegal drugs, sell body parts and people. This is a prime example of that people repeat themselves time and time again through the generations. In more recent years we have seen that in the automobile industry the jobs became more automated the workers went on strike. They didn t show up to work and refused to do so for days. This shows that even though we have been through a situation once we don t learn from our mistakes. We read many articles the common factor through all of these articles is the ... • 47. My Experience at Flagler College As I reflect on my professional growth, I have also come a long way. When I consider where I was at professionally, to where I am at now, my mind goes back to one event specifically; my mock parent teacher conference. This was an assignment given to me in my 2nd semester of coursework at Flagler College. For this assignment, we were expected to explain FCAT scores to the parents (professors and other faculty posing as parents) of the student we were given background information on previously. I was nervous after merely hearing about this assignment because I have always struggled with speaking out loud when I am feeling anxious. During that interview, it did not go at all how I planned; I was hysterical. Let it be known, I am not referring to solely hysterically nervous, but to my embarrassment looking back, hysterically nervous on top of hysterically crying. However, although it is a bit embarrassing, I am very thankful I had that experience because after I walked out of that interview, I knew my weak area. I knew I needed to work on in the improvement of my communicationskills and from that point on, that s just what I did. In my most recent practicum experience at Chiles High School, there were two separate occasions where I interacted with the parents of students. On one of those occasions, I was asked to explain an assignment and share student results with the parent. That day, after my advising teacher told me, I couldn t have said it better myself , I left the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. Atticus s Racism The black community is thankful to Atticus because he took time to represnt the case of a black man, fighting for racism. This is ironic because even though the verdict of the judge was unfair, the black community still celebrated Atticus, as someone finally stood up for their rights. They thanked him by sending him hunks of salt pork, tomatoes, beans, even scuppernongs. . This was their way of showing that they were greatful for the action Atticus took in helping the black community. Atticus tells Scout It s not time to worry yet the day after the trial, as she is still upset about the verdict and how Tom was treated unfairly. This tells her to be positive and optimistic, as she will encounter other dilemmas during the life. This means ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 49. Why I Have A Healthcare Profession During tenth grade, I decided to have a healthcare profession. Several people in my family work in the health field as a psychiatrist, nurse, and doctor. In my country, Haiti, the option to go to school was very limited because it s very expensive. My father saved up enough money, so we can move to the United States. At the age of three, we came to the U.S. and my little brother Kenley was born in this country. I accomplished my twelve year public education in Stamford, CT. I graduated from Academy of Information Technology Engineering high school in 2013. Throughout high school, I volunteered in the Stamford Hospital for three years. It was a great experience to serve many different individuals. For example, I worked in departments such as Endoscopy, Patient Transportation, Patient Registration, Maternity, Sunshine Team, and the Surgical Weight Loss. Next, I attended a nursing program called Southern Westchester Boces in Harrison, NY on September, 2014. In addition, I was assigned three nursing home locations and for each place I stayed there for eight weeks. I learned nursing skills such as vital signs (pulse, temperature, respirations, and blood pressure); administered medication; performed injections; provided care for tracheostomy, gastrostomy, and wounds. I graduated on June 24, 2014 and it was a ten month program. After graduating from a nursing school, it s a requirement to take the National Council Licensure Examination known as the NCLEX to receive a nursing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Analysis of Online Banking Industry According to King, McKay, Marshall, Lee and Viehland (2008) online banking or electronic banking (e banking) includes various banking activities conducted via the Internet from home, business, or on the road opposed to at a physical bank location. This paper shall compare and contrast both the online and offline retail environment for banking services. Internet banking offers great opportunities to the financial services industry, including: a huge potential customer base large economies of scale in investment the possibility for services to be delivered using standardised modular software easy management of software a common browser front end the possibility to be equipped with good security protocols the easy application ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The sites must be user friendly and convey a feeling of security. According to Zakaria (2003) even though Internet banking has been long established, one of the most important factors that may be slowing its progression is customer s concern for security of financial transactions over the Internet. In a recent Key Note consumer survey (conducted in 2008) into attitudes towards electronic banking, 40% of respondents said that they liked to manage their money using the Internet. The survey found men were slightly more likely than women to use this channel. 51.3% of respondents postulated that they were concerned about the security aspects of electronic banking and 25.1% of the sample would not trust an electronic bank with their money (Source: Key Note Report 2008). Due to the nature of the online environment it is difficult for banks to build trust and relationships with their customers. The Internet is extremely impersonal due to its global audience, the bricks and mortar location of the local branch with a smiling advisor is much more inviting in comparison to a cold lifeless computer screen. Also the learning process involved in using e banking can be daunting, customers must invest their time and effort into learning more to use and navigate their way around the sites. Internet banking can also be time consuming to set up and registration numbers and access codes can be misplaced, stolen or forgotten. Although ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 52. The Importance Of Media In Mass Media There are many different media outlets, and alternatives available to individuals in today s society to receive information other than what is available in mass media. One alternative media is PBS. PBS is unlike many programming stations around the nation. Their idea is to treat people like citizens and not as consumers. On the Public Broadcasting Servicewebsite, it describes how their take on the news is quite different from other stations. They believe that they are America s largest classroom, the Nation s largest stage, and a trusted window to the world (2016). I am going to describe in the following paper the background of the Public Broadcasting Service, how their view is different than corporate giants, and what type of future does a company like this have in the kind of media world we live in today. Public Broadcasting Service is a different kind of media outlet than many. PBS different than other media sectors because it is a private and a nonprofit corporation (2016). The people that make PBS the company it is today is the people that belong to America s television. The people of America s television are noncommercial, educational licensees that operate in 350 member stations and serve all 50 states (2016). PBS does not only provide broadcasting to the fifty states in the United States, but they also inform the people of Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, and American Samoa (2016). • 53. 21st Century Literacy In Education Part A The digital world we live in is constantly changing and updating to include the most efficient technology for everyday use. Children in today s society have grown up using the latest smartphones, tablets, computers and televisions. It is no surprise that technology has made it s way into schools and incorporated into classroom instruction. Robinson, McKenna and Conradi state that technology in schools is here to stay...students must now be able to navigate hypermedia and to compose using not only word processing software but desktop publishing systems capable of integrating multimedia. The times, they are a changin (Robinson, McKenna Conradi, 2012, p. 223). Robinson, McKenna and Conradi discuss in their research about a common myth of 21st Century literacy; that 21st century literacy is about technology only (Robinson, McKenna Conradi, 2012, p. 227). As an educator, I agree with Robinson, McKenna and Conradi that 21st Century literacy is not only about technology. Technology is a wonderful supplement to learning literacy, however it does not take the place of learning to read, write and orally communicate on a daily basis. Studies of workforce readiness show that employers rate written and oral communication skills very highly, and collaboration, work ethic, critical thinking, and leadership all rank higher than proficiency in information technology (Robinson, McKenna Conradi, 2012, p. 227). As an educator, I feel that it is important to remember ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 54. Single Variable Response ( Svr ) Single Variable Response (SVR) has been a methodology often used for qualitative analysis of the training results obtained from Evolutionary neural network (EvoNN) and Bi Objective genetic programming (BioGP) [Pettersson et~al., 2007], [Jha et~al., 2015b]. In SVR, a style of variation is created by generating values between zero and one on time scale. The trend line is irregular, that is there are regions of constant values, sharp increases and sharp decreases in the line. This has been referred to as input signal in the following text. Here, an input signal is furnished for each variable (alloying element). The response of that signal (that corresponds to that particular variable) was checked with respect to the input signal for the objectives and constraints trained through the selected model. For SVR testing, the input signal (trend of variation) was used for one of the variables, while the other variables were kept constant at an average value. The model output response was plotted against the variable trend. The various responses were tabulated for each of the models. Following terminologies were used in SVR testing: 1. Direct: This means that the model output increases on increasing the value of input signal and decreases on decreasing the value. 2. Inverse: This means that a particular variable will affect the model output in opposite manner. That is, if we quantitatively increase/decrease the value of that particular variable (concentration of this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
