A Wonderful Monograph By Melissa Archer
Introduction
This is a wonderful monograph by Melissa Archer with a comprehensive study of the theme of
worship in the Apocalypse . It illustrates various aspects of worship and the role of worship in the
Apocalypse. The language of the book and different approaches to the theme are appreciated, because
those are simple and clear to understand the theme.
Summary of the book
The context of the book is well organized. Archer divides her text into five chapters, and every chapter
has an introduction and a summery, which is really helpful to read and get the message at the first
glance.
Chapter one is a survey of modern scholarly literature related to the theme of worship in the
Apocalypse. It is divides into four subtopics; A) The theme of worship as a whole, B) The hymns in
the Apocalypse, C) Revelation 4 5, D) Additional worship scenes.
Chapter two is focused on the methodology for the study engaging North American Pentecostalism
and Pentecostal hermeneutics. In this chapter she introduces the term Wirkungsgeschichte ; how to
discover the worship in the Apocalypse.
Chapter three is a careful reading of the early Pentecostal periodical materials. She explains how the
worship practices of early Pentecostals using both the Wesleyan Holiness and the Finished Work
traditions during the time period of 1906 1916.
Chapter four is focused on a sustained narrative reading of the Apocalypse with the theme of worship.
In addition to the prologue and epilogue, there are four

Pitbull Persuasive Speech
When I say I have a pit bull does that frighten you? For most people, it does, even though it shouldn t.
I feel the dog restrictions in Shullsburg are limiting the lifestyles for both specific dog breeds as well
as their owners. Did you know that in a way pit bulls are not even a breed? There are seven different
dog breeds that are classified as pits. My puppy, a terrier, lab, retriever, and pit bull mix, is both loving
and affectionate, but because she is part pit bull many already have a bad image plastered in their
heads without even meeting her. When uneducated people say bad things about pit bulls, it devastates
me. My personal opinion to this topic may be different than yours; however, I m just asking you to
have an open mind and take into consideration what I am saying. Maybe at the end, you will start to
feel why I am so heartbroken by what people have said about this specific breed. When people
stereotype a pit bull as vicious they are limiting the capabilities as well as opportunities for this breed.
My dog has to be muzzled, on a four foot leash and walked by someone 16 years of age or older. At

some information to be brought more awareness to this misunderstood breed. Unfortunately, there are
many other breeds like pit bulls that have restrictions in Shullsburg that are not fair, but I decided to
talk about pit bulls because I have one myself. I wish people in our town were as open minded as my
family and I. Now at the end of my sincere essay I hope you take into consideration the dog

Civil Services Personal Statement
Civil services always interested me as it s a very honourable way to serve the country. When I was in
my home country, my late grandfather who had an administrative role in the police services told me
stories about how he met great people while doing his job. His stories inspired me and my late uncle,
who aspired to become an Administrative Officer, motivated me to serve my country for as long as I
can remember. I m interested in this programme as it s a step to a future in the civil services and due to
the variety of tasks I ll get to perform whilst on internship. It is a great environment where I can boost
my crucial skills such as critical thinking and networking. I see it as a wonderful opportunity to gain

Benjamin Franklin And Booker T Washington Analysis
Benjamin Franklin and Booker T. Washington use their respective autobiographies to document their
experiences in both poverty and politics. These pieces of writing cover the full expanse of Washington
and Franklin s careers, from uneducated children to highly successful adults, and within them, both
men recorded the lessons they had learned and the wisdom they would like to impart. Throughout
their lives, it is clear that though the two individuals were raised in different times, they share similar
stories of personal growth. It is also abundantly clear that both lives were significantly shaped by
women: Franklin and Washington were born from women, married to women, and funded by women.
However, in each biography, every woman described in the lives of these great men share one
common facet; they are afterthoughts. These women are mentioned briefly or in passing, regardless of
the impact they left or the change they inspired. Up from Slavery and The Autobiography of Benjamin
Franklin both portray women as props in the lives of men, and in reading these autobiographies I have
examined both my own life and how it compares to the other women I ve known.
Benjamin Franklin looks past the many women in his life through his complete lack of
acknowledgement of the roles they played in shaping him. After writing to his sister for 63 years, he
never once so much as mentions her name (Lepore XI). In all 136 pages of his autobiography,
Franklin does not talk about his sister. He

Management And Processes Performance Metrics Essay
Freddie Mac is highly regulated by administrative policies and Federal Register procedural guidelines
of the Federal Register. When receiving massive amounts of information on a daily basis it is difficult
to sift through the information, match the information to a specific program, and create the principal
agents specific program. What is this information tied to?
Freddie Mac s website articulates the organization s mission guidelines and strategic plan. These
guidelines are strict and heavily weighted by deadlines, procedures for the reduction/elimination of
marginal errors in delivery of a securitized loan to Freddie Mac. As part of the interview and
orientation process each principal agent is required to systematically follow through the plan. For
comparison of management and processes performance metrics to Freddie Mac s best practices, a
portion of the delivery period is dedicated to a benchmarking process. Over the course of several
office visits, an assessment was conducted to analyze Freddie Mac s staffing, policy, procedures and
systems. The results were used to gauge the professionalism and expertise of the principle agent.
Additionally, the organization s goals and objectives were assessed to identify any factors that could
potentially jeopardize the success of its principal agent performance in reaching its goals and
objectives of submitting a fully funded loan within the required timeframe. It is less difficult for a
principal agent to adapt to Freddie Mac s

Before his Career
Clive Davis had many ideas of what he wanted to be before his career.
Interest in music He became interested in music from the broadway musicals he used to see when he
was a kid.
His Work Before he joined with Columbia Records, Davis went to college at N.Y.U and worked as a
lawyer at Harvard Law School until 1960 when he was hired (O donnell,2013). Although he went to
college, the only reason he went was that his parents died and he was paid to go (Taylor,2002). Davis
did work some very long hours, though. (Davis, 2013).

Hypothalamo-Pituitary-Adrenocortic Research Paper
INTRODUCTION:
The hypothalamo pituitary adrenocortical (HPA) axis is a critical adaptive system that maximizes
survival potential in the face of physical or psychological challenge. The principal end products of the
HPA axis, glucocorticoid hormones, act on multiple organ systems, including the brain, to maintain
homeostatic balance. Ryan Jankord and James P. Herman LIMBIC REGULATION OF
HYPOTHALAMO PITUITARY ADRENOCORTICAL FUNCTION DURING ACUTE AND

The effects of stress are thought to be mediated by the activation of the hypothalamic pituitary adrenal
(HPA) axis, culminating in increased levels of glucocorticoids [5]. Which are the end products of HPA
axis activity, glucocorticoids (GCs),regulate many physiological functions and play an important role

Importance of the Eunuchs in Elizabeth Inchbald s The Mogul Tale
The eunuch is an integral part of the 18th century play The Mogul Tale, by Elizabeth Inchbald. He
serves a historical role by being the Mogul s advisor, watchman, and, most importantly, harem guard.
Eunuchs are generally defined as castrated males and are thus excellent choices to guard the Mogul s
women no fear of the guard taking the ladies for himself. Inchbald reinforces these noble positions by
showing the eunuch as the Mogul s right hand man . But with the passing of time these traditional
roles have died along with the people who embraced them. Eunuchs now exist in an India that has all

They will also sell their bodies for shelter. They will stay with men they call their husbands and clean
their homes for a space to sleep on the floor10. The older traditions of performing ceremonious
blessings are dying and more and more hijras are turning to prostitution as a means of survival putting
them at a high risk for AIDS11.
There are several roads that lead to a boy becoming a hijra. One way into the hijra life is to be
kidnapped. Organized gangs kidnap young boys from impoverished areas of India, or the boys are
sold by starving parents for a low sum of money. The boys are castrated and put out onto the streets as
beggars for up to forty years to prey on religious sentiments and collective psyche of the Hindu
community 12. These hijras are given protection and shelter for a percentage of their earnings . There
is still exist a risk today for young boys in these Mafia style activies13. Because of the castration
process, there is no way for the boys to escape and reintegrate back into mainstream society. They are
made permanent outcast.
Those with gender identities and orientations outside of the mainstream are welcomed by the hijra
communities. In Indian society boys must exhibit their heterosexuality by puberty if not, they are
labeled as hijras and put out of the family. There exist no place in Indian society for effeminate
homosexuals of transsexuals. Hijra

Analysis Of Akira Kurosawa s Seven Samurai And Yojieo...
Death leads to many emotions. It can lead to anger, sorrow, joy, realization, or more violence. The
theme of death is a common occurrence in Akira Kurosawa s 1954 film, Seven Samurai, and Yojieo
Takita s 2009 film, Departures. Each death in these films served a purpose. However, each of these
films have death constructed in their own different ways. Departures showcased a respectful way for
dealing with the deceased. Seven Samurai showed a little bit of every emotion for the deceased, but it
seemed as though the 4 samurai, the main heroes, who died were not really emphasized compared to
those who the samurai had killed.
First, let s start off with the first death in Seven Samurai. This death scene was probably the most
memorable one. It starts around 24 minutes into the film, where Kambei, the soon to be leader of the
seven samurai, is disguised as a monk and kills a thief hiding in a shack with a hostage. While the
action of killing is not shown, the thief staggers out into open view before he dies. He then collapses
in dramatic fashion while the spectating villages are in awe with what just happened. Throughout this
scene, Kurosawa plays with slow motion, emphasising the spectacular nature of this first but rather
unimportant death.
After around 25 minutes later, a similar slow motion effect is used on another death. It is when Kyuzo
cuts down a samurai who has challenged him into a duel. Once again, there is a mob of spectators in
the background all in awe and holding

The title of the text is Anne meets her class . The author s name is Dora Jessie Saint, best known by
pen name Miss Reed, she is an English novelist. The text is extract from the novel Fresh from the
Country , the story of a young country girl who has taken a first teaching job in the big city.
The text tells us about first day of a young teacher at school. She was introduced to her new class by
the headmistress. At that moment Anne felt helpless and embarrassed. The headmistress, Miss

When Miss Enderby gave Anne final instructions I think Anne felt reassurance because Miss Enderby
was very polite and she said that she could depend on her. In my opinion in school Anne was attentive
and diligent student, she was active and had good relations with teachers. When the headmistress went
out and the noise grew in volume, because the children communicate with each other very animatedly,
Anne remembered advice given her at college in such a situation: to stand still and to be calm and
gradually children will notice that you are waiting. Such advice could give her one of her teachers.
Plot structure of the text is direct. It consists of the exposition: Anne meets her class ; the beginning of
the plot: Miss Enderby goes out of the class ; plot complications begin with the phrase Anne gave
watery smile and end with the phrase Anne advanced into action ; the climax of the text is considered
in the following phrase: To your desks! she roared, And quickly. and the denouement: Anne s self
esteem crept back .
My attitude to Anne is positive. Reading this extract I understood that she is good natured and modest
person and treats with respect to other people. What about the text itself? Unfortunately we don t
know the continuation of the story, but

Native American Celebrities
Are We On The Same Level?
What would happen if a group of Indians, or Native Americans had an incapable leader? What would
happen if the leader truly didn t know what he/she was doing or is a negative role model? If only one
mistake could lead to the resulting of the suffering of the whole entire tribe? That s why we as people
need to grasp, and even penalize the leaders, our celebrities at a higher standard, or level.
Superstars whether you discern it are among the leaders of this nation. Because of their fame, they are
continually in the public eye; many people; especially children, and adolescents look up to them for
what they should do. For instance, when Miley Cyrus published her Wrecking Ball song a teenager
bounded on his school s war monument of a hanging cannonball. He then swung on it, starkly. Besides
the result of wanting to regurgitate, can you now see why what celebrities do are vital to our country.
Also, seemingly people are actually lowering their (the figures) standards. To illustrate that, according

arrested for a bike accident. Apparently, he told the police department, however, Do you know who I

TMS s system of measuring, evaluating, and rewarding the performances of the regional general
managers was, as they called it, tiered . They started the rewards at the top, the general managers, and

They should start the change in some of their more profitable divisions of the company. They have
proved that they are profitable so they have the human resources, marketing and finance divisions in
line. They would need to have someone in to teach them about the port of entry division to make them
a solid solo division that is completely decentralized from TMC. From there they would need to
monitor the division to see where any possible issues may occur and iron them out. From there they
could begin implementing them in other more profitable divisions and slowly turn them all into
independent operations.
I suggested starting with the most profitable divisions first due to the fact that they are financially
stable and would be able to handle any issues that may arise during this transition. They would be the
most resilient to change and would be a good model for all the other division to see what is to come
and what changes to expect.
Case Analysis:
Key Issues:
Change was the main issue of this case. TMS was expected to change from a centralized company to a
decentralized company. They wanted their GM s to be more responsible for what was happening in
their divisions, not only their successes, but their failures to. The GM s were to take over the finance,
human resources, marketing, and port of entry operations. TMC felt that this would make them look at
long term goals,

YES
There should be nothing violent about sporting, yet today violent sports has so dominated the
entertainment arena, that some people seems to live by it, and can t get enough of it.
These kinds of sports however, should be banned for several reasons. Violence begets violence, and
once there are limited restrictions, generations after generations will be caught in a vicious never

Excellence in any sport becomes an unrelenting quest to push the limits, to exceed and perform better
than the competitors and break the earlier records. The best performance is always the one better than

true athletes. The thrill of victory, the agony of defeat, the human drama of athletic competition..

Such thrill and agony and excitement is experienced not only by the athletes but even more so by the

consumption of spirit to prevent serious break out of violence, otherwise a common occurrence when

The Benefits Of Genetic Engineering
The article is based on the fact that microbes are capable of changing carbon dioxide into biomass. In
most cases, the organism derives energy from sunlight, photoautotrophy and also from inorganic
electronic donors, chemolithoautotrophy. It is by this that the authors claim that the potential for this
organism to be used for the large scale industrial production of biofuels and other useful chemicals
remains largely untapped. The employment of genetic engineering to augment the autotrophic host s
productivity pathways offers hope for improved and increased productivity. Other techniques entail
the transfer of the processes to heterotrophic organisms.
Autotrophic production is said to be more efficient as a source of fuel than that from ... Show more

This has given rise to microbial electrosynthesis where chemolithoautotrophs are used to generate
chemicals and biofuels are generated from electron donors. Non carbon electron donors include H2,
Fe2+, NH4 and all are produced and mobilized by electrical energy.
A suitable host physiologically, genetically and biochemically forms the basis for efficient autotrophic
production. The heterotrophs Escherichia coli and Saccharomyces cerevisiae have so far been ideal.
However, these organisms will have to be transformed to full autotrophs using sophisticated and
complex engineering methods. The use of mixotrophy where autotrophs systems are incorporated into
heterotrophs seems to give better outcomes.
The natural photoautotrophic microorganism is categorized into oxygenic and anoxygenic groups.
Oxygenic photoautotrophs such as Cyanobacterial Synechocystis species and Synechococcus species
have been used in conjunction with metabolic engineering to produce isobutyraldehyde, l lactic acid
and 2,3 butanediol. Eukaryotic microalgae such as Chlamydomonas reimnhardtii can produce lipids
and alkanes. Oxygenic photoautotrophs possess water splitting oxygen producing photosystems.
These systems can produce reducing power and a proton gradient for ATP energy production.
The photosystems of anoxygenic photolithoautotrophic microorganisms cannot split water. They rely
on inorganic electronic donors to generate reducing power. An example is Rhodabacter

Effects Of Voter Apathy
Voter apathy is a large and serious problem that is affecting the U.S. right now. If the number of
people that continuously ignore the ability to vote increases only a small portion of the country will be
deciding who leads us and makes the decisions that will either protect us or endanger us. The effects
of these decisions can be in economics and war. Also, if only a fraction of the population votes there is
a much a greater chance of imbalance in politics. For example, this could cause more Democrats or
Republicans to vote and make it too easy for one party to be in office. Every vote counts and one by

Writing Style
What is writing style? I started out thinking that writing style is a personal thing and that all writers
have their own style. But, this way of thinking is really just a simple way to answer the question. After
more careful thought, I realized that style is actually quite the opposite of personal and original. Style
is a form of standardization. As writers, we all follow certain rules and guidelines to make our point.
Style is these rules and guidelines.
For a writer to better understand style, multitudes of books and helpful guides have been published.

I believe this to be a common mistake. Strunk and White refer to this usage as the serial comma. The
only time they believe it is acceptable to not follow this rule is in the case of a business or a firm
containing three or more names. Often the second comma will be omitted.
Another very important rule dealing with commas is rule number 4, place a comma before a
conjunction introducing an independent clause (Strunk and White, 5). This rule not only points out the
proper place to put a comma, but also the fact that there are two part sentences. Some writers tend to
put a period where a comma should be placed, maybe because they are uncomfortable with where to
put the comma. An example of proper comma usage in this case would be
The early records of the city have disappeared, and the story of its first years can no longer be

Relatinging back to breaking a two part sentence into two sentences is rule number six. One should be
careful to not place a period where a comma should be.
I met them on a Cunard Liner many years ago. Coming home from Liverpool to New York (Strunk
and White, 7).
In this example, the first period should really be a comma.
An additional and significant rule to writing is the usage of the he/she pronoun. This is mentioned in
both books, yet the proper usages described differ from one another. In the original copy by Strunk he
feels that he is the only correct pronoun.

The Importance Of Weather In Literature
Angelina Blackwell
AP Literature and Composition
Mrs. Smith
9/20/17
Weather can influence many things in literature. It can influence the mood, plot, characters, setting.
Foster makes it very clear to us that an author will never put weather into a story with no reasoning
behind it. Weather is not just simply a setting in literature.
The author begins the chapter It s More Than Just Rain or Snow by explaining what mood the quote It
was a dark and stormy night creates. He explains how weather is never placed in a story for no reason.
Weather is a factor used to create a mood in the passage. A sunny day with no clouds in sight... will
create a happy mood while the reader could be imagining themselves in the story being outside on a
beautiful clear day with the sunshine hitting them just right. That could put anyone in a cheerful mood,
right? If the author started a story with The rain was beating down on the roof as I realized it had been
my first night without him... . Now obviously if the character had just lost someone they would be sad
but adding rain to the scene adds the effect of sadness and allows the reader jump in the book to feel
what the character is feeling.

Oedipus-Complex In Shakespeare s Hamlet
Renowned psychoanalyst, Sigmund Freud, coined the term Oedipus complex in 1910 when explaining
a child s psychological desire for his opposite sex parent. Coupled with this desire is a bitter sense of
rivalry with the parent of the same sex, as the child feels envious and compelled to win the affection of
the coveted parent (Freud 19). Shakespeare s Hamlet, although written prior to the development of this
theory, is often referenced as a prime example of this complex. Hamlet famously descends into
madness in an effort to avenge his father s death; however, although Hamlet is seemingly devastated
by the loss of his father, it is not until he learns of his mother s marriage to Claudius that he truly
begins to unravel. Once alone, he erupts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They provide the three classes of ghosts that Elizabethans recognized: the authentic, subjective, or
false ghost.
When illustrating the characteristics of a false ghost, they describe, It was thought to be a prankish
delight of the devil to assume the shape of a person lately dead and in this guise appear to relatives
and incite them to some deed which if consummated would entail the forfeiture of their souls (Boas
and Hahn 99). Because Shakespeare was undoubtedly Protestant, he surely intended for the ghost in
Hamlet to reflect the qualities of a false ghost, for Protestants believed that ghosts were truly demons
sent from Hell to tempt people into performing unholy acts. Consequently, the ghost of the king is
unquestionably a demon sent to persuade Hamlet to fulfill his utmost unholy desire: to be with his
mother. However, if this ghost is truly a demon, it would not want to appear as such to Hamlet. As
Boas and Hahn suggest when referencing Hamlet, this demon materializes under the guise of urging
Hamlet to commit a heroic act of justice, when in reality it is tempting him to remove the only person
who stands in the way of his deepest, sinful wish. If the ghost were to command him to murder
Claudius so Hamlet can fulfill his incestuous desires, Hamlet would be less apt to act because he does
not want to acknowledge such desires, for the Oedipus complex is an unconscious and repressed
affliction.

Evidence Based Care Of The Patient
In this essay I will explore the evidence based care of the patient in the above case. It will outline the
assessment of an infant with acute bronchiolitis using a suitable framework to determine the
appropriate therapeutic intervention. The pathophysiology associated with deterioration and the
impact of communication between the family and multi disciplinary team will be explored. This essay
will to focus on the initial stages of Joe s care in the first hour of his admission to the children s
assessment unit. On arrival, Joe s mother Catherine was distressed and throughout every stage of Joe s
care it was important Catherine was provided with clear information in order to empower her to make
informed choices regarding Joe s care (Glasper et al. 2010). Parental involvement was introduced after
the Platt Report in 1959 which recommended that parents should be allowed to stay with their
hospitalised child. The report has led to significant improvements in interactions between parents of
hospitalised children and the staff who care for them (Priddis and Sheilds 2011). Sousa et al (2013)
carried out a study that found communication between parents and children s nurses is vital. Sousa et
al (2013) found that almost all parents who participated in the questionnaire agreed it was a priority to
get information on their child s health condition. This indicates that is important for nurses to manage
the child and family as a whole holistically (NMC 2015). Catherine

Point Of Literature Essay
The point of literature
Personally, I think the point of literature is entirely subjective. Even the definition of literature can be
interpreted differently. In class just now, it was defined as written works with artistic value, which I
agree with to some extent, but then again, what does and doesn t constitute as artistically valuable is
also subjective. I feel like I m on a fast track to my history and philosophy class here, being all like
everything is subjective, nothing is real . The point, the purpose, the goal of literature can be so many
things. In earlier human evolution, the Homo Sapiens ability of more advanced communication than
that of other animals, the way we evolved to understand and communicate not only the tangible reality
of our surroundings (after all, the Neanderthal could do this too), but also perceive and deal in
hypotheticals and what s referred to as the imaginary reality the capability to believe in made up
concepts like gods, money, nations is what made us the sole surviving human species; it gave us
reasons to unite, to coexist in larger groups and eventually entire societies. Without this crucial
cognitive development, we wouldn t have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Apart from the evolutionary advantage of the societal bonds that it creates and enforces, literature is
just yet another channel for humans to channel its unusual knack for creativity. Love of writing could
also be the point of literature. Or, on the other hand, love of reading. Or a conduit for expression, or
knowledge, or reverence. Or a million other things. There s no single, lone point to the art form of
written works. Just like most of literature itself, the point probably lies in each person s own
interpretation of it. Or maybe that s just my

The Correlation Between Economic Growth And The...
One of the most highly controversial topics of our time has been about the environment, whose quality
is not indicated in the measure of GDP. Some scholars say that there is nothing wrong with our current
natural ecosystem and that we should not worry, other scholars say that we should be more concerned
about our environment today than we ever were. Many studies were done to validate both these
hypotheses which left people divided, but it is always better to be safe than sorry. Economists have
found the correlation between economic growth and the deterioration of our environment: In the quest
for high rates of GDP, the human cost of producing goods and services is not set against the market
value of those items. (Mahadea and Rawat, 2008). In other words, there is a constant trade off between
sustaining economic growth and maintaining the natural ecosystem. As stated earlier, producers are
unwilling to give up their opportunity to gain more profits for the sake of sustainability. We should
understand the insignificance of overproducing and having a high GDP if in actuality the living
conditions are not as good as the GDP depicts it.
Economists D. Mahadea and T. Rawat investigated the relationship between economic growth and
happiness in which they found that although being rich does make an individual happy, this extra
income would not have the ability to purchase happiness once an income threshold is reached,
especially in developed countries. They concluded that

Racial Racism In Gary Disher s The Divine Wind
Gary Disher s socially provocative Australian historical drama novel The Divine Wind (1998) set in
the Australian pearling town of Broome, provides a thought provoking and contemporary outlook on
racial prejudice, isolation and the loss of rights to adulthood during the onset of World War11. Disher
establishes this through a range of characters of differing ages and cultural backgrounds, evoking a
war devastated Australia and its effects on young adults forced to leave their childhood behind.
Written as a series of melancholic recollections, the seemingly simple novel conveys the messages of
a violent history, as it explores the complexity of the relationships between racially diverse characters
during the onset of WW11. The novel follows a young and ambitious Hartley Penrose who faces
challenges with discovering his maturity/identity, serving as a transition from his past to his future.
The Divine Wind utilizes the characters ideas, experiences, beliefs, and values to explore the central
themes, the racial prejudice between the white race and other ethnicities, the regional and urban divide
and the growing up and loss of rights to adulthood. The Divine Wind utilizes conventions and ideas
from the drama genre to communicate these central themes which are still prevalent in today s modern
society.
The racist attitudes of the time are personified by the subordinate characters in the book.
Racisms plays a key role in Disher s novel The Divine Wind and it still plays a

Campaign Finance Research Paper
What Caused for the Reform of Campaign Finance? The reformers passed these provisions in
response to corruption, which culminated in Watergate 1972 presidential campaign (Wright, 1003).
The reformers found that these excesses were fueled by contributions collected for political gain.
Their goal was to protect the political process from distortion and corruption (Wright, 1003).
Money also caused for the reform of campaign finance. Money does facilitate communication of
political preferences and prejudice (Wright, 1004). It also does influence the outcome of elections. For
instance, the more money spent on behalf of the candidate gives the candidate a better chance of
winning the election. However, money could also lead to corruption because ... Show more content on

Clinical observation led him to the hypothesis that specific combinations of symptoms in relation to
the course of psychiatric illnesses allow one to identify a particular mental disorder. Today, his
concept of endogenous psychosis is regarded as Kraepelins main achievement. He differentiated
between dementia praecox and manic depression as the two forms of psychosis. Kraepelin considered
dementia praecox as a biological illness caused by anatomical or toxic processes (Lehmann, 1997). He
observed 19 cases and worked on defining the concept of paranoia, which is reflected in several
editions of his famous textbook and most closely resembles the modern definition of delusional
disorder. Kraepelin viewed paranoia as an uncommon, chronic condition different from dementia
praecox by the presence of fixed, non bizarre delusions, lacking deterioration over time, preserved
thought process, and relatively slight involvement of effect and volition (Manschreck, 2000).
Kraepelin described that delusions of paranoia, contrary to the delusions of dementia praecox, are well
systemized, relatively consistent, and often related to real life events. He identified persecutory,
grandiose, jealous, erotomanic, and possibly hypochondriacal types of that disorder. He believed that
the illness derived from the deficit in the patients judgments caused by constitutional factors and

The War On The Front Lines
The refusal to obey orders, or a violent attempt to take control from people of authority. 1 The Great
War was a rugged time for many throughout its duration from July 28, 1914 to November 11, 1918.
The speculations and thoughts of the general public and the soldiers in battle behind the ongoing war
changed drastically over the four years. The moral and willpower of the soldiers declined heavily, and
this had a large impact on how the war was fought. Many soldiers captured their accounts of these
changes in journals as diaries and there is one French soldier s diary that accurately depicts mutiny on
the front lines. There is a clear correlation between the changes in the amount of recruits and supplies
available, the manner in which the war was fought, and the general feelings behind the war as time
went on, which caused some soldiers to choose mutiny. At the beginning of the war, the duties behind
what the soldiers had to do were largely appreciated and they were held above others as heroes. People
of warring countries were rushing to battle and their loved ones were supporting them all of the way.
Battalions were even formed from work groups, as they already withheld an established chain of
command, the members had a close knit bond, and there was a charismatic feeling about representing
the country they worked in. The glorified fighting and risking of one s life was soon changed.
The way the war was fought also fiercely changed. The battle techniques early on in 1914

Australopithecus afarensis was discovered in Ethiopia on November 24, 1974 by paleoanthropologists
Donald Johanson, Maurice Taieb, Yves Coppens, and Tom Gray in the Afar Depression in Ethiopia,
Africa. The first fossil was found by Johanson in 71 when he discovered a shinbone and femur. They
returned in 1974 and the team found several hundred fragments of bones all belonging to a single
individual. The individual was deemed to be a female based on the width of the pelvic opening. The
fossil samples were argon argon dated by Robert Walter in 1992 and it was determined that she was

Characteristics
Male Australopithecines are on average 4 11 and weigh about 94 pounds while females average 3 5
and weigh close to 64 pounds. The most notable characteristic of Lucy was found in her knee, which
indicated that the species walked upright or was bipedal. Lucy s limb proportions also provide insight
to her bipedality. Human s hind limbs (legs) are longer than their fore limbs (arms). The ratio between
arms and legs is called an intermembral index. The average intermembral index for humans is between
68 70 , while chimpanzees fall around 106 . Lucy s intermembral index is 88 , which falls between
both. This suggests that A. afarensis probably walked on the ground with hind limbs and climbed in
trees with fore limbs. Lucy s pelvic blades are human like in that they are short and curved forward,
making the case for bipedality while on the ground. The location of Lucy s shoulder, however,
provides insight that she spent time climbing in trees. Furthermore, Lucy s sacrum is wide and short at
the top and goes in laterally like in humans. A wider and shorter sacrum is better for distributing
weight through the pelvis. This follows with bipedal theories because this shaped sacrum is better

How Nuclear Power Plants Creates Electricity
HOW DOES IT CREATE ELECTRICITY?
A nuclear power plant creates electricity by splitting uranium atoms in a reactor. The heat from
splitting the atoms heats water, and turns it into steam. The steam turns a steam turbine, which turns a
copper coil and magnet generator. This creates electricity. The electricity is then put through a
transformer (to change the voltage), and is put on transmission lines. In a nuclear power plant, nothing
burns. The water stays in a cooling tower, ready to be used for steam. The uranium comes in pellets,
which are put into tubes. The tubes are put into bundles, and put in the reactor. Splitting the atoms is
called fission. There are 2 ways to heat the water, the Boiling Water Reactor and the Pressurized Water

In this essay I intend to discuss how Aeschylus presents Clytaemnestra in the Oresteia and how he
marks the extent to which traits of Clytaemnestra s character remain defiantly unchanged as she
manipulates events and characters around her. Clytaemnestra is the only character who appears in all
three plays in the trilogy, but despite her immense stage presence she remains a troublesome character
to interpret due to the highly ambiguous nature of her words. I intend to show that the key to
unlocking Clytaemnestra s manly heart lies in the fact that she hated Agamemnon, not simply because
he had killed her child, nor because she loved Aegisthus, but out of a jealousy that was not a jealously

`The ox is on my tongue...I speak to those who know; to those who don t my mind s blank (Ag. 38

`Clytaemnestra s heart is counselled by a man...Aegisthus asserts that he alone did all the planning

(Stevenson 107). Here, Henry Jekyll displays his awe and wonder of his new discovery. He feels a
sense of power and overwhelming wickedness. From the quotation, it seems appropriate to conjecture
that Dr. Jekyll was enthusiastic about testing out his ?new creation,? as if he were a child and it a toy.
Here, is another difference between the two doctors. Dr. Frankenstein (after realizing what he has
done) halts all of his experiments and does away with his laboratory anything to get his mind of his
terrible creation. He travels around, always watching his back expecting his creature to be there. Dr.
Frankenstein has many qualities of the classic Byronic hero; a character that shows romanticized
sorrow and pity for himself. ? . . . I am a blasted tree,? he says, ?the bolt has entered my soul; and I
felt then that I should survive to exhibit what I shall soon cease to be a miserable spectacle of wrecked
humanity, pitiable to others and intolerable to myself? (Shelley 153). In this quotation, he shows
romanticized self pity and remorse for what he has created. Victor calls himself a ?miserable spectacle
of wrecked humanity.? By this he feels his life is over; he can no long face the world a decent man.

  • 2. A Wonderful Monograph By Melissa Archer Introduction This is a wonderful monograph by Melissa Archer with a comprehensive study of the theme of worship in the Apocalypse . It illustrates various aspects of worship and the role of worship in the Apocalypse. The language of the book and different approaches to the theme are appreciated, because those are simple and clear to understand the theme. Summary of the book The context of the book is well organized. Archer divides her text into five chapters, and every chapter has an introduction and a summery, which is really helpful to read and get the message at the first glance. Chapter one is a survey of modern scholarly literature related to the theme of worship in the Apocalypse. It is divides into four subtopics; A) The theme of worship as a whole, B) The hymns in the Apocalypse, C) Revelation 4 5, D) Additional worship scenes. Chapter two is focused on the methodology for the study engaging North American Pentecostalism and Pentecostal hermeneutics. In this chapter she introduces the term Wirkungsgeschichte ; how to discover the worship in the Apocalypse. Chapter three is a careful reading of the early Pentecostal periodical materials. She explains how the worship practices of early Pentecostals using both the Wesleyan Holiness and the Finished Work traditions during the time period of 1906 1916. Chapter four is focused on a sustained narrative reading of the Apocalypse with the theme of worship. In addition to the prologue and epilogue, there are four ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Pitbull Persuasive Speech When I say I have a pit bull does that frighten you? For most people, it does, even though it shouldn t. I feel the dog restrictions in Shullsburg are limiting the lifestyles for both specific dog breeds as well as their owners. Did you know that in a way pit bulls are not even a breed? There are seven different dog breeds that are classified as pits. My puppy, a terrier, lab, retriever, and pit bull mix, is both loving and affectionate, but because she is part pit bull many already have a bad image plastered in their heads without even meeting her. When uneducated people say bad things about pit bulls, it devastates me. My personal opinion to this topic may be different than yours; however, I m just asking you to have an open mind and take into consideration what I am saying. Maybe at the end, you will start to feel why I am so heartbroken by what people have said about this specific breed. When people stereotype a pit bull as vicious they are limiting the capabilities as well as opportunities for this breed. My dog has to be muzzled, on a four foot leash and walked by someone 16 years of age or older. At the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I just wanted to give you some information to be brought more awareness to this misunderstood breed. Unfortunately, there are many other breeds like pit bulls that have restrictions in Shullsburg that are not fair, but I decided to talk about pit bulls because I have one myself. I wish people in our town were as open minded as my family and I. Now at the end of my sincere essay I hope you take into consideration the dog restrictions in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When I was in my home country, my late grandfather who had an administrative role in the police services told me stories about how he met great people while doing his job. His stories inspired me and my late uncle, who aspired to become an Administrative Officer, motivated me to serve my country for as long as I can remember. I m interested in this programme as it s a step to a future in the civil services and due to the variety of tasks I ll get to perform whilst on internship. • 5. Benjamin Franklin And Booker T Washington Analysis Benjamin Franklin and Booker T. Washington use their respective autobiographies to document their experiences in both poverty and politics. These pieces of writing cover the full expanse of Washington and Franklin s careers, from uneducated children to highly successful adults, and within them, both men recorded the lessons they had learned and the wisdom they would like to impart. Throughout their lives, it is clear that though the two individuals were raised in different times, they share similar stories of personal growth. It is also abundantly clear that both lives were significantly shaped by women: Franklin and Washington were born from women, married to women, and funded by women. However, in each biography, every woman described in the lives of these great men share one common facet; they are afterthoughts. These women are mentioned briefly or in passing, regardless of the impact they left or the change they inspired. Up from Slavery and The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin both portray women as props in the lives of men, and in reading these autobiographies I have examined both my own life and how it compares to the other women I ve known. Benjamin Franklin looks past the many women in his life through his complete lack of acknowledgement of the roles they played in shaping him. After writing to his sister for 63 years, he never once so much as mentions her name (Lepore XI). In all 136 pages of his autobiography, Franklin does not talk about his sister. He ... When receiving massive amounts of information on a daily basis it is difficult to sift through the information, match the information to a specific program, and create the principal agents specific program. What is this information tied to? Freddie Mac s website articulates the organization s mission guidelines and strategic plan. These guidelines are strict and heavily weighted by deadlines, procedures for the reduction/elimination of marginal errors in delivery of a securitized loan to Freddie Mac. As part of the interview and orientation process each principal agent is required to systematically follow through the plan. For comparison of management and processes performance metrics to Freddie Mac s best practices, a portion of the delivery period is dedicated to a benchmarking process. Over the course of several office visits, an assessment was conducted to analyze Freddie Mac s staffing, policy, procedures and systems. The results were used to gauge the professionalism and expertise of the principle agent. Additionally, the organization s goals and objectives were assessed to identify any factors that could potentially jeopardize the success of its principal agent performance in reaching its goals and objectives of submitting a fully funded loan within the required timeframe. Importance of the Eunuchs in Elizabeth Inchbald s The Mogul Tale The eunuch is an integral part of the 18th century play The Mogul Tale, by Elizabeth Inchbald. • 10. Analysis Of Akira Kurosawa s Seven Samurai And Yojieo... Death leads to many emotions. It can lead to anger, sorrow, joy, realization, or more violence. The theme of death is a common occurrence in Akira Kurosawa s 1954 film, Seven Samurai, and Yojieo Takita s 2009 film, Departures. Each death in these films served a purpose. However, each of these films have death constructed in their own different ways. Departures showcased a respectful way for dealing with the deceased. Seven Samurai showed a little bit of every emotion for the deceased, but it seemed as though the 4 samurai, the main heroes, who died were not really emphasized compared to those who the samurai had killed. First, let s start off with the first death in Seven Samurai. This death scene was probably the most memorable one. It starts around 24 minutes into the film, where Kambei, the soon to be leader of the seven samurai, is disguised as a monk and kills a thief hiding in a shack with a hostage. While the action of killing is not shown, the thief staggers out into open view before he dies. He then collapses in dramatic fashion while the spectating villages are in awe with what just happened. Throughout this scene, Kurosawa plays with slow motion, emphasising the spectacular nature of this first but rather unimportant death. After around 25 minutes later, a similar slow motion effect is used on another death. It is when Kyuzo cuts down a samurai who has challenged him into a duel. When Miss Enderby gave Anne final instructions I think Anne felt reassurance because Miss Enderby was very polite and she said that she could depend on her. In my opinion in school Anne was attentive and diligent student, she was active and had good relations with teachers. When the headmistress went out and the noise grew in volume, because the children communicate with each other very animatedly, Anne remembered advice given her at college in such a situation: to stand still and to be calm and gradually children will notice that you are waiting. Such advice could give her one of her teachers. Plot structure of the text is direct. It consists of the exposition: Anne meets her class ; the beginning of the plot: Miss Enderby goes out of the class ; plot complications begin with the phrase Anne gave watery smile and end with the phrase Anne advanced into action ; the climax of the text is considered in the following phrase: To your desks! she roared, And quickly. and the denouement: Anne s self esteem crept back . My attitude to Anne is positive. Reading this extract I understood that she is good natured and modest person and treats with respect to other people. What about the text itself? That s why we as people need to grasp, and even penalize the leaders, our celebrities at a higher standard, or level. Superstars whether you discern it are among the leaders of this nation. From there they would need to monitor the division to see where any possible issues may occur and iron them out. From there they could begin implementing them in other more profitable divisions and slowly turn them all into independent operations. I suggested starting with the most profitable divisions first due to the fact that they are financially stable and would be able to handle any issues that may arise during this transition. They would be the most resilient to change and would be a good model for all the other division to see what is to come and what changes to expect. In most cases, the organism derives energy from sunlight, photoautotrophy and also from inorganic electronic donors, chemolithoautotrophy. It is by this that the authors claim that the potential for this organism to be used for the large scale industrial production of biofuels and other useful chemicals remains largely untapped. Non carbon electron donors include H2, Fe2+, NH4 and all are produced and mobilized by electrical energy. A suitable host physiologically, genetically and biochemically forms the basis for efficient autotrophic production. The heterotrophs Escherichia coli and Saccharomyces cerevisiae have so far been ideal. However, these organisms will have to be transformed to full autotrophs using sophisticated and complex engineering methods. The use of mixotrophy where autotrophs systems are incorporated into heterotrophs seems to give better outcomes. The natural photoautotrophic microorganism is categorized into oxygenic and anoxygenic groups. Oxygenic photoautotrophs such as Cyanobacterial Synechocystis species and Synechococcus species have been used in conjunction with metabolic engineering to produce isobutyraldehyde, l lactic acid and 2,3 butanediol. Eukaryotic microalgae such as Chlamydomonas reimnhardtii can produce lipids and alkanes. Oxygenic photoautotrophs possess water splitting oxygen producing photosystems. These systems can produce reducing power and a proton gradient for ATP energy production. The photosystems of anoxygenic photolithoautotrophic microorganisms cannot split water. If the number of people that continuously ignore the ability to vote increases only a small portion of the country will be deciding who leads us and makes the decisions that will either protect us or endanger us. The effects of these decisions can be in economics and war. Also, if only a fraction of the population votes there is a much a greater chance of imbalance in politics. But, this way of thinking is really just a simple way to answer the question. After more careful thought, I realized that style is actually quite the opposite of personal and original. Style is a form of standardization. As writers, we all follow certain rules and guidelines to make our point. Style is these rules and guidelines. For a writer to better understand style, multitudes of books and helpful guides have been published. Many are written as lists of rules about word choice, constructions to avoid, common stylistic traps, and other such things. One of these is The Elements of Style by ... The only time they believe it is acceptable to not follow this rule is in the case of a business or a firm containing three or more names. Often the second comma will be omitted. Another very important rule dealing with commas is rule number 4, place a comma before a conjunction introducing an independent clause (Strunk and White, 5). This rule not only points out the proper place to put a comma, but also the fact that there are two part sentences. Some writers tend to put a period where a comma should be placed, maybe because they are uncomfortable with where to put the comma. An example of proper comma usage in this case would be The early records of the city have disappeared, and the story of its first years can no longer be reconstructed (Strunk and White, 5). Relatinging back to breaking a two part sentence into two sentences is rule number six. One should be careful to not place a period where a comma should be. I met them on a Cunard Liner many years ago. Coming home from Liverpool to New York (Strunk and White, 7). In this example, the first period should really be a comma. • 20. The Importance Of Weather In Literature Angelina Blackwell AP Literature and Composition Mrs. Smith 9/20/17 Weather can influence many things in literature. It can influence the mood, plot, characters, setting. Foster makes it very clear to us that an author will never put weather into a story with no reasoning behind it. Weather is not just simply a setting in literature. The author begins the chapter It s More Than Just Rain or Snow by explaining what mood the quote It was a dark and stormy night creates. He explains how weather is never placed in a story for no reason. Weather is a factor used to create a mood in the passage. A sunny day with no clouds in sight... will create a happy mood while the reader could be imagining themselves in the story being outside on a beautiful clear day with the sunshine hitting them just right. That could put anyone in a cheerful mood, right? If the author started a story with The rain was beating down on the roof as I realized it had been my first night without him... . Now obviously if the character had just lost someone they would be sad but adding rain to the scene adds the effect of sadness and allows the reader jump in the book to feel what the character is feeling. When meeting characters in the beginning of novels, the author can add how they perceive weather to let the readers get a feel for how observing they are. If the character pays no mind to the weather the reader may see that had acted as ignorant. Chapter 10 elaborates on how weather can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 21. Oedipus-Complex In Shakespeare s Hamlet Renowned psychoanalyst, Sigmund Freud, coined the term Oedipus complex in 1910 when explaining a child s psychological desire for his opposite sex parent. Coupled with this desire is a bitter sense of rivalry with the parent of the same sex, as the child feels envious and compelled to win the affection of the coveted parent (Freud 19). Shakespeare s Hamlet, although written prior to the development of this theory, is often referenced as a prime example of this complex. Hamlet famously descends into madness in an effort to avenge his father s death; however, although Hamlet is seemingly devastated by the loss of his father, it is not until he learns of his mother s marriage to Claudius that he truly begins to unravel. When illustrating the characteristics of a false ghost, they describe, It was thought to be a prankish delight of the devil to assume the shape of a person lately dead and in this guise appear to relatives and incite them to some deed which if consummated would entail the forfeiture of their souls (Boas and Hahn 99). Because Shakespeare was undoubtedly Protestant, he surely intended for the ghost in Hamlet to reflect the qualities of a false ghost, for Protestants believed that ghosts were truly demons sent from Hell to tempt people into performing unholy acts. Consequently, the ghost of the king is unquestionably a demon sent to persuade Hamlet to fulfill his utmost unholy desire: to be with his mother. However, if this ghost is truly a demon, it would not want to appear as such to Hamlet. As Boas and Hahn suggest when referencing Hamlet, this demon materializes under the guise of urging Hamlet to commit a heroic act of justice, when in reality it is tempting him to remove the only person who stands in the way of his deepest, sinful wish. If the ghost were to command him to murder Claudius so Hamlet can fulfill his incestuous desires, Hamlet would be less apt to act because he does not want to acknowledge such desires, for the Oedipus complex is an unconscious and repressed affliction. ... • 24. The Correlation Between Economic Growth And The... One of the most highly controversial topics of our time has been about the environment, whose quality is not indicated in the measure of GDP. Some scholars say that there is nothing wrong with our current natural ecosystem and that we should not worry, other scholars say that we should be more concerned about our environment today than we ever were. Many studies were done to validate both these hypotheses which left people divided, but it is always better to be safe than sorry. Economists have found the correlation between economic growth and the deterioration of our environment: In the quest for high rates of GDP, the human cost of producing goods and services is not set against the market value of those items. (Mahadea and Rawat, 2008). In other words, there is a constant trade off between sustaining economic growth and maintaining the natural ecosystem. As stated earlier, producers are unwilling to give up their opportunity to gain more profits for the sake of sustainability. We should understand the insignificance of overproducing and having a high GDP if in actuality the living conditions are not as good as the GDP depicts it. Economists D. Mahadea and T. Rawat investigated the relationship between economic growth and happiness in which they found that although being rich does make an individual happy, this extra income would not have the ability to purchase happiness once an income threshold is reached, especially in developed countries. They concluded that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 25. Racial Racism In Gary Disher s The Divine Wind Gary Disher s socially provocative Australian historical drama novel The Divine Wind (1998) set in the Australian pearling town of Broome, provides a thought provoking and contemporary outlook on racial prejudice, isolation and the loss of rights to adulthood during the onset of World War11. Disher establishes this through a range of characters of differing ages and cultural backgrounds, evoking a war devastated Australia and its effects on young adults forced to leave their childhood behind. Written as a series of melancholic recollections, the seemingly simple novel conveys the messages of a violent history, as it explores the complexity of the relationships between racially diverse characters during the onset of WW11. The novel follows a young and ambitious Hartley Penrose who faces challenges with discovering his maturity/identity, serving as a transition from his past to his future. The Divine Wind utilizes the characters ideas, experiences, beliefs, and values to explore the central themes, the racial prejudice between the white race and other ethnicities, the regional and urban divide and the growing up and loss of rights to adulthood. The Divine Wind utilizes conventions and ideas from the drama genre to communicate these central themes which are still prevalent in today s modern society. The racist attitudes of the time are personified by the subordinate characters in the book. Racisms plays a key role in Disher s novel The Divine Wind and it still plays a ... Kraepelin considered dementia praecox as a biological illness caused by anatomical or toxic processes (Lehmann, 1997). He observed 19 cases and worked on defining the concept of paranoia, which is reflected in several editions of his famous textbook and most closely resembles the modern definition of delusional disorder. Kraepelin viewed paranoia as an uncommon, chronic condition different from dementia praecox by the presence of fixed, non bizarre delusions, lacking deterioration over time, preserved thought process, and relatively slight involvement of effect and volition (Manschreck, 2000). The War On The Front Lines The refusal to obey orders, or a violent attempt to take control from people of authority. 1 The Great War was a rugged time for many throughout its duration from July 28, 1914 to November 11, 1918. The speculations and thoughts of the general public and the soldiers in battle behind the ongoing war changed drastically over the four years. The moral and willpower of the soldiers declined heavily, and this had a large impact on how the war was fought. Many soldiers captured their accounts of these changes in journals as diaries and there is one French soldier s diary that accurately depicts mutiny on the front lines. There is a clear correlation between the changes in the amount of recruits and supplies available, the manner in which the war was fought, and the general feelings behind the war as time went on, which caused some soldiers to choose mutiny. At the beginning of the war, the duties behind what the soldiers had to do were largely appreciated and they were held above others as heroes. People of warring countries were rushing to battle and their loved ones were supporting them all of the way. Battalions were even formed from work groups, as they already withheld an established chain of command, the members had a close knit bond, and there was a charismatic feeling about representing the country they worked in. The first fossil was found by Johanson in 71 when he discovered a shinbone and femur. They returned in 1974 and the team found several hundred fragments of bones all belonging to a single individual. The individual was deemed to be a female based on the width of the pelvic opening. The fossil samples were argon argon dated by Robert Walter in 1992 and it was determined that she was approximately 3.22 3.18 million years old. The species itself lived between 3.85 and 2.95 million years ago. This specimen was named Lucy after the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Characteristics Male Australopithecines are on average 4 11 and weigh about 94 pounds while females average 3 5 and weigh close to 64 pounds. The most notable characteristic of Lucy was found in her knee, which indicated that the species walked upright or was bipedal. Lucy s limb proportions also provide insight to her bipedality. Human s hind limbs (legs) are longer than their fore limbs (arms). The ratio between arms and legs is called an intermembral index. The average intermembral index for humans is between 68 70 , while chimpanzees fall around 106 . Lucy s intermembral index is 88 , which falls between both. This suggests that A. afarensis probably walked on the ground with hind limbs and climbed in trees with fore limbs. Lucy s pelvic blades are human like in that they are short and curved forward, making the case for bipedality while on the ground. The location of Lucy s shoulder, however, provides insight that she spent time climbing in trees. Furthermore, Lucy s sacrum is wide and short at the top and goes in laterally like in humans. A wider and shorter sacrum is better for distributing weight through the pelvis. This follows with bipedal theories because this shaped sacrum is better ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. How Nuclear Power Plants Creates Electricity HOW DOES IT CREATE ELECTRICITY? A nuclear power plant creates electricity by splitting uranium atoms in a reactor. The heat from splitting the atoms heats water, and turns it into steam. The steam turns a steam turbine, which turns a copper coil and magnet generator. This creates electricity. The electricity is then put through a transformer (to change the voltage), and is put on transmission lines. In a nuclear power plant, nothing burns. The water stays in a cooling tower, ready to be used for steam. The uranium comes in pellets, which are put into tubes. The tubes are put into bundles, and put in the reactor. Splitting the atoms is called fission. There are 2 ways to heat the water, the Boiling Water Reactor and the Pressurized Water ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Social Systems And Ecological Theory Paper Identification of Possible Theory or Research Based Alternatives There are several theoretical perspectives that could be applicable to describe the presenting issues (a) Social Systems and Ecological Theory, (b) Behavioral theory, (c) Social Learned Theory, and (d) Attachment Theory. In addition, Eric Erikson s stages of development describe the possible developmental process of the family. Fortunately, each theory provides and describes a framework for comprehending developmental trajectories, human behavior, and thought process. Social Systems and Ecological Theory The Social Systems and Ecological Theory theorists explained that people are composed of subsystems and interact with systems in the environment. Both models are different; however, there is an overlap in the systems that provide theoretical understanding of human interactions. Theoretically people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The systems theory, as explained in the aforementioned text, states that a change in one system reflects a change in another. Karen and Frank s marital discord refocuses their attention on their marriage as opposed to their children. The case states that Frank was having difficulty dealing with his past behaviors, resistance to another child, and focus on his marriage. Moreover, the case states that Karen was dealing with rheumatoid arthritis, an unrelenting employer, and financial strains. Through the fog of Karen s relationship, the case does not state whether she yielded to the educational and behavioral needs of Anna. Karen s generous gifts to Anna from teleshopping does not indicate understanding of Anna s psychological or physiological needs as a child. Basically, the breakdown of (a) Karen and Frank s marriage, (b) Karen s employment, and (c) Karen s finances caused a change in Anna s system of development. • 37. Essay about The Characterisation of Clytaemnestra in the... In this essay I intend to discuss how Aeschylus presents Clytaemnestra in the Oresteia and how he marks the extent to which traits of Clytaemnestra s character remain defiantly unchanged as she manipulates events and characters around her. Clytaemnestra is the only character who appears in all three plays in the trilogy, but despite her immense stage presence she remains a troublesome character to interpret due to the highly ambiguous nature of her words. I intend to show that the key to unlocking Clytaemnestra s manly heart lies in the fact that she hated Agamemnon, not simply because he had killed her child, nor because she loved Aegisthus, but out of a jealousy that was not a jealously of Cassandra, but of Agamemnon himself and his ... However, Clytaemnestra does wield power impressively. The Watchman at the beginning of Agamemnon clearly fears retribution from Clytaemnestra if he betrays knowledge: `The ox is on my tongue...I speak to those who know; to those who don t my mind s blank (Ag. 38 43). Haruo Konishi believes that `both the Watchman and Messenger were hired by the adulterous couple (69), however there appears insubstantial textual evidence to support his claim that `Clytaemnestra s heart is counselled by a man...Aegisthus asserts that he alone did all the planning (41). This means that the commands the audience hear Clytaemnestra delivering to every character she encounters are all of her own accord. Clytaemnestra even commands the chorus of slave women in Libation Bearers who furiously hate her. Although the Chorus are unwilling to perform the libations to appease Agamemnon s soul on behalf of the `godless woman (Lib. 34), they do not oppose her wishes despite believing the ritual hypocritical and futile: `What can redeem the blood that wets the soil? (Lib. 49 50). Clytaemnestra has no qualm in exerting control over those who she ostensibly loves. In Libation Bearers, Aegisthus appears following s Clytaemnestra instruction, saying `Yes, I have my summons (Lib. 824). Although he does not trust Clytemnestra s report that ... • 38. A Comparison of Vistor Frankenstein and Henry Jekyll Essay A Comparison of Vistor Frankenstein and Henry Jekyll Mary Shelley s Frankenstein and Robert Louis Stevenson s Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde are two horrific tales of science gone terribly wrong. Shelley?s novel eloquently tells the story of a scientist, Victor Frankenstein, who creates a living monster out of decomposed body parts, while Stevenson?s novel describes the account of one, Henry Jekyll, who creates a potion to bring out the pure evil side to himself. Although the two scientists differ in their initial response and action to their creations, there are strong similarities between their raging curiosity to surpass human limitation, as well as their lack of responsibility concerning their actions. These similarities raise an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (Stevenson 107). Here, Henry Jekyll displays his awe and wonder of his new discovery. He feels a sense of power and overwhelming wickedness. From the quotation, it seems appropriate to conjecture that Dr. Jekyll was enthusiastic about testing out his ?new creation,? as if he were a child and it a toy. Here, is another difference between the two doctors. Dr. Frankenstein (after realizing what he has done) halts all of his experiments and does away with his laboratory anything to get his mind of his terrible creation. He travels around, always watching his back expecting his creature to be there. Dr. Frankenstein has many qualities of the classic Byronic hero; a character that shows romanticized sorrow and pity for himself. ? . . . I am a blasted tree,? he says, ?the bolt has entered my soul; and I felt then that I should survive to exhibit what I shall soon cease to be a miserable spectacle of wrecked humanity, pitiable to others and intolerable to myself? (Shelley 153). In this quotation, he shows romanticized self pity and remorse for what he has created. Victor calls himself a ?miserable spectacle of wrecked humanity.? By this he feels his life is over; he can no long face the world a decent man. Dr. Jekyll, on the other hand, like a child, is thrilled with his new discovery and wishes to tamper and ... • 39. Heroic Figures-Personal Narrative Asleep in the forest, after facing the god s wrath at sea, I finally woken at morning by cries of the island s people. I sat there in my bed leaves, wondering about the source of the cry, intrigued by the cry. I pondered if the people here were hospitable or hostile, and surely, if I could survive the sea, I could survive an attack, but my body is sore and covered in brine, for who would not turn away at the sight of a shabby man? Yet, I knew the more I waited around contemplating about these inhabitants, they would leave, so I stood up and prowled into the bushes, using an olive branch to cover my manhood, making my way out of the bushes. Beautiful, young women. Their skin soft and delicate, eyes like goddesses with captivating faces, sadly, this pretty sight did not last long. All the women dashed away from me, scrambling away. I wonder if they hid in fear or disgust, or perhaps both. One young woman though, she stood there with a brave stance, unwilling to run from me.
