Septic Shock Research Paper
Septic shock is the stage of sepsis when multiple organ failure is evident and uncontrolled bleeding of
the body occurs. Septic shock results from the complication of an infection where toxins initiate a full
body inflammatory response. Viral, fungal, and bacterial infections can all lead to septic shock, but the
most common causes of sepsis are gram negative bacteria and gram positive bacteria. Sepsis causes
severe hypovolemic shock and hypodynamic cardiac function to affect the body, platelets and clotting
factors are consumed and thus the body cannot clot blood. Capillary leak occurs and cardiac
contractility is poor from cellular ischemia (Ignatavicius Workman, 2011). For a person to be
diagnosed with septic shock, they must have symptoms ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Diagnosis is often made with a blood test. This type of test can determine if any of the following
factors are present: bacteria in the blood, problems with clotting due to low platelet count, excess
waste products in the blood, abnormal liver or kidney function, decreased amount of oxygen, or
electrolyte imbalance. Depending on your symptoms and the results of the blood test, there are other
tests that a doctor may want to perform to determine the source of your infection. Other tests that can
be performed include: urine test, wound secretion test (if you have an open area that looks infected),
mucus secretion test (to see what type of germ is behind the infection), or a brain and spinal fluid test.
In cases where the source of the infection is not clear from the tests, a doctor might want to get an
internal view of your body using X rays, computed tomography scan, ultrasound or a magnetic
resonance imaging. X rays allow a doctor to get a good view of the lungs while a computed
tomography (CT) scans provides a view of possible infections in the appendix, pancreas, or bowel
areas. An ultrasound shows a view of infections in the gallbladder or ovaries and the magnetic
resonance imaging (MRI) gives doctors a view of any soft tissue infections, such as spinal

Personal Narrative-False Advertising
The trip from Tuscon was a long and wretched drive. It had just rained the night prior so the air was
hot and sticky. The sweat clung to me like glue, and was impossible to peel off. The only thing
holding my sanity together is the book I brought with me, Wuthering Heights. Otherwise I would have
jumped out of the car an hour ago. My mom on the other hand appears unaffected by the humidity;
currently she s tapping her hands on the steering wheel to the rhythm and humming to whatever she
was listening to on the radio. Right now I can imagine my two friends Stefanie and Alex sitting in
their bedrooms under the arctic blast of their air conditioner. Oh how I wish I was within the radious

You can still call your friends and you can still visit them. It s not goodbye forever. Who knows, you

shrugged. We were silent the rest of the way. The mouth of the canyon was approaching fast, like a
monster getting ready to swallow me whole. As we enter the canyon there was the feeling of dread,
like someone or something is hiding in the shadows and was going to drag you into it s depths if you
get too close. As we continue driving I can see the creek below with some parts clear and some parts
muddy. We were driving fast so the shadows all seemed to merge together. Every once in a while one
shadow leaps from the other, giving it the appearance that something is running to keep up with the
car, but I lost sight of the shadow as fast as it appeared. We turn down a road that quickly turns into a
dirt one. The road was very rough and rugged. There were pot holes everywhere and when you think
there was no more it would start up again. The car jerked and jumped and swayed every which way.
At one point my head nearly touched the roof, thats how bad the holes and bumps are. The trees curve
inward, giving it an arch appearance. It blanketed the road with ominous shadows. The shadows start
moving again, not from the wind, but from whatever was hiding among them. Up a little ways I could
see a small cabin.

Determinants And Drivers Of Entry Modes
Determinants and Drivers of Entry Modes
Within the Aviation Industry
Rory S Smith
Global Strategy
State University of New York: Empire College The region of Asia and its surrounding areas are the
fastest growing profitable markets for the airline industry. Countries like China with its vast economic
expansion is attracting more businesses and manufacturers to the region. As such, air travel demand is
higher than before and western based airlines like United, Delta and American continue to compete to
enter these markets or even close to it. It is without a doubt that gaining at least one landing spot
anywhere in the Asian market can significantly improve the route structure for airlines and profit. This
paper will seek to explore the drivers of entry modes as it relates to the aviation industry. It will look
at Delta Air Lines and how such a company entered the Asian market after its merger with former US
carrier Northwest Airlines. This paper will examine the process of the merger and the challenges Delta
faced while entering a new market with a new logo and strategy. It will seek to identify the airline
industry strategy as it relates to the BCG matrix using examples from various airlines such as
American. Entry Modes in the Airline Industry Air transportation has significantly impact the
expansion of world trade and tourism in many countries around the world. The industry continues to

The Challenge of Love
Some of the biggest challenges in relationships are rooted between the push and pull of give and take.
People tend to enter into relationships to gain something: they re trying to find someone who s going
to make them feel good. In reality, the only way love is true is if the relationship comes from a place
of giving.
For some love is primarily taking, for some love is primarily giving and for some it is more evenly a
matter of give take . A person driven by intense need often attempts to control the relationship, taking
to fulfill their personal needs. When the emphasis is on taking, love becomes very threatening. Love
takes on many forms, but true love is not one of power and control.

That said, in time when love failed his grand daughter Janine, Louis although inexpert in the gestures
of love (p.267) supported Janine in managing her own feelings of pain, betrayal, and abandonment
after her marriage ended.
Janine was able to see an honesty and openness in Lois that at times he didn t see in himself. Her
ability to see Louis for the man he was and not his actions was a demonstration of her true love and
devotion to him. Janine was acutely aware that her grand father was a terrible, even at times a dreadful
man (p.280) but she was able to accept him and his personal truth, without judgement. It was Louis s
influence alone in the end that entirely changed her way of looking at things (p. 280). To Janine, her
grand father was not man of power and control, but a man weighed down by a sense of unworthiness
(p.279), and for that she felt sad a partly responsible. Louis was a man who needed truth, to feel
worthy, loved, and to be free, something he was not able to be around his family his wife Isa and two
children. In the end Louis experienced love through Janine.
True to form through the last section of the book Louis aims criticism at Janine. To Louis his grand
daughter was weak (p. 254), she was a women incapable of receiving anything from another person
(p. 265), a person who thought so little (p. 256) about others. These qualities connected the two, as
Louis was much the same. Louis a

Why Curfew Hourss Are Important For Teens
The ways teens act nowadays are really diverse between the new and old. Curfew hours are really
important for teens and their own safety.Although they are home certain times, this does not
necessarily mean their actions are appropriate. The curfew law restriction shouldn t change at all, even
though people complain. Having the juvenile under control can have mutual responsibilities. The most
critical issue for not following the curfew hours can lead to many consequences. The time limit can
have lots of causes and effects within teens.Curfew times are good to have to help teens from getting
into dangerous situations, the lost of education, and the mutual amount of safety at the time. Curfew
hours have positive and negative standards. Curfews are meant to help the teens from getting into
trouble. For example, your child might have more interfering within drugs, alcohol and even gang

By them going out in a school night and coming back at whatever time they want is a big NO. Having

due to going out and coming home late. They ll start skipping school, not even attend and all their
school years will go lower and they ll be behind. The curfew time they all have has to be followed in
order for them to be trusted and not getting fined. National Youth Rights Association best expresses
and confirms that, curfew laws often have exceptions if the person is coming home from work, or an
emergency what else would a youth want to be out at night for? On the other hand yes, most teens

What Is The Six Thinking Hat
Edward De Bono is a man nominated for the Nobel Prize for Economics in 2005, and is considered as
a leading example in the area of creative thinking and innovation. He is the proud author of the six
thinking hats. His six thinking hat theory is widely used in many organizations such as IBM,
Prudential, GM, BT and Nokia. His methods are now a mandatory in schools in many countries. The
six thinking hats are white, yellow, black, and red, blue, green
The white hat is based on facts and calls on facts and nothing less. A business person or even a student
is recommended to be in the white thinking hat when dealing with something factual and
straightforward. For a person who is on a white thinking hat will only look through the facts and
figures and concludes based on that finding. For example, a business man who is looking through
figures and data on a fact sheet, will come up with a conclusion or decision based on that only and will
not compromise for any other discussion. The advantage of being on white thinking hat is that there
will be no rule breaking and everything will be a clear cut ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When on this hat, a person is allowed to express anger, dislikes and disagreements. In business this
thinking hat comes in handy when there are too many disagreements on the topic. This thinking hat is
rather interesting as Red Hat Thinking is very valuable as it shows that all the emotions such as
intuition, feelings are supposed to be expressed. And there will be the presence of that. If there are any
feelings involved than it would be good to share it as it might help with a proper business planning.
The red thinking hat includes variable feelings, such as curiosity, enthusiasm, interested, or even
boring. All this feeling somehow plays a part in a discussion as someone with a red thinking hat might
find the proposal boring and that would trigger the rest of the thinking hats to get deeper into the
feelings and find a

Eric, The Huntsman s Journey
Eric, the Huntsman, seems to be somewhat an outcast in his character. Due to the fact that he only
wants to care for himself and wishes not to obey anyone, especially the spiteful Queen Ravenna.
Although, he was forced to take the task to find what the Queen wanted, which was Snow White, he is
desperate and tortured knowing that he will not get his wife back whether or not he goes to find the
princess, yet he took this mission anyways.
The Huntsman s Journey
The Huntsman happened to obey orders and take this journey as the Queen demanded, although he
expects something in return, something that means everything to him. He was set out into the Dark
Forest to find Snow White and supposably kill her, when unanticipatedly he was her savior and
protector throughout their journey together. Throughout this adventure, Snow White and the
Huntsman became closer together as the days went on. He taught her some survival skills to where if

been.
The Initiation
In the movie, initiation does occur. The Huntsman is separated by what he knows in his village to be
able to survive anything that approaches the Dark Forest. He is then able to transform into a better
hero than what he expected to be by staying by Snow White s side, knowing he could not let even the
slightest thing happen to her. For his return, he is able to watch the princess defeat the evil Ravenna
from what he had taught her and watch her become the new Queen of the Kingdom of Tabor. He had a
good feeling knowing that everything would go back to normal with Snow White being Queen.

John Grisham s A Painted House Essay
John Grisham s A Painted House
John Grisham s book, A Painted House places the reader within the walls of a simple home on the
cotton fields of rural Arkansas. Within the first few pages, the author s description of the setting
quickly paints a picture of a hard working family and creates a shared concern with the reader about
the family s struggle to meet the basic needs of life. The description of the dusty roads, the unpainted
board sided house, the daily chore requirements and their lack of excess cause the reader a reaction of
empathy for the family. Although the story takes place in a dusty setting very unfamiliar to most
readers, the storyline is timeless and universal. Most everyone has a desire to meet the basic ... Show

As one might expect from the title, one continued part of the story concerns the lack of paint on the
home. Trot, in spite of his lack of physical strength and intelligence, decides to paint the house. His
sister Tally buys him some paint, and Trot begins painting the house on a side not normally visible
during daily activities. At first, it seems a mystery on who is painting the house and for what reason. It
s very obvious later in the book what the author was conveying with this exercise. The unpainted
house is certainly a metaphor when studying these folk as they interact with one another. One has to
set his goals and work very hard and persistently in order to complete the task...just as in life. Mr.
Grisham takes the reader into the cotton fields with the snakes, the almost unbearable heat, and the
empty sacks that must be filled. Too much time spent in one area of a cotton row and there is wasted
time. Not enough time spent in each area of the cotton row, and there is wasted cotton. The bags have
to be filled in order for anyone to get paid. Luke is out there everyday with the adults dragging his
sack behind him while doing his best to keep up with the others. The work is hard and the days are
long. However, in this book s setting, it seems natural and expected for everyone to share the load.
Although one s initial reaction may be that Luke is too young, the point has to be stressed:

How I Went from Aching Loneliness to Blissful Solitude
It was an aching solitude. I sat in silence, ensnared within my chaotic mind while everyone s elated
voices stretched across the classroom like a contagious disease but my immunity was too study to
catch a speck of it. I was never a big fan of change, especially ones that strike you without any
warning. The transition from elementary to junior high wasn t the challenging part for me, it was the
fact that I felt alone. It never occurred to me that everything was temporary, even friendships. Initially,
going into seventh grade was absolutely petrifying, nearly all my friends was in a different T.A., while
in the other hand, I was placed in a class filled with unfamiliar faces. Everyone appeared to be
recognizable to each other, I felt as if I was an outcast, just a girl at the back of the classroom. At that
time, the most bothersome traits about me was that I was shy, reticent, and anxious. I swore there must
have been something wrong with me, how hard could it be to approach another student and simply
talk or just plainly introduce myself. Although, I attempted to be as optimistic as I possibly could, I
would still be able to be with my friends at lunch, afterschool, or parties. Another part of me that was
incommodious was that I clung onto my friends, they truthfully were extremely supportive and
entertaining people to be around, I cherished each and every one of the our memories together but
sadly, we gradually drifted apart. Instantaneously, even on the first

The Nazi Regime
The rise of the Nazi regime in Germany in the early part of the 20th century was an impressive, and
nearly unforeseen incident that had long lasting implications on the rest of the Western world. While
the Nazi party was extreme in their ideologies, the circumstances in which they came to power were
dire; Germany had been crippled by a massive depression and was being forced to pay reparations
through the Young Plan which required Germany to pay the Allied forces a series of annual payments
extending until 1988 (Bullock, 160). The German people were left without any leadership in a time of
disparity, but naturally, a strong leader filled this vacuum. Even though the actions of the Nazi party

At the time that Hitler was appointed Chancellor, Alfred Hugenburg said I ve just committed the
greatest stupidity of my life; I have allied myself with the greatest demagogue in world history (Briggs

and how influential he would be as a leader to the German people. After the Nazi party gained control
of the government, there was no way to make them give up this power. The people were at the mercy
of the fascist government, and Hitler had no intention of returning to democracy. Hitler believed that
[Germany s] constitution only marks out the arena of battle, not the goal... once we possess the
constitutional power, we will mould the state into the shape we hold suitable (Briggs Clavin, 255). If
anyone should shoulder the blame for the rise of this extremist party, it should be the failed League of
Nations; who had put Germany at their mercy by strangling their economy, and Neville Chamberlin
who saw the increasing strength of the German nation under Adolf Hitler, but chose to ignore that
Germany was increasing their military strength. One of the provisions in the Treaty of Versailles was

Why Winter Driving Is Bad
As all long time residents know, Michigan winters can be brutal. However, even during a normal
winter, you can expect average temperatures that are below freezing for three months out of the year
and snowfall totals ranging between 44 inches and 55 inches. Keeping your pavement clear
throughout the winter typically involves frequent applications of salt or chemical deicers as well as
repeated snowplowing. Between the freeze/thaw cycle, the potential damage from snowplows and the
corrosive actions of deicing materials, your asphalt pavement can take a beating. If you want to
minimize the damage that winter can cause, you should make sure that you have cracks repaired
before the arrival of cold weather.

Achilles The Real Hero In The Iliad
The Iliad, a series of epic poems originated from Homer and rewritten by Robert Lattimore, chronicles
three main characters: Achilles, Hector, and Agamemnon. All three of these courageous men share
common traits which variate with their roles in the war effort. Of the three, two are clearly heroes
whilst one can almost be considered a villain. Therefore, as seen through quotes from the Iliad the real
hero becomes quickly identified. Achilles has been considered the greatest hero of the Greeks in the
Iliad for numerous valid reasons. Similarly, Achilles not only stays humble, but extremely courageous.
Waiting patiently for Hector, Achilles says, No man so long as I am alive above Earth... and see
daylight shall lay the weight even if you mean Agamemnon. (1.88 90) In this statement, Achilles says
that no one should ever have power over him. So, must one be called of no account and a coward if I
must carry out every order you may happen to give me.... (6.293 303) Clearly, he fears no one and
does not understand the meaning of failure. Achilles constantly acts as man of fierce strength and

The lack of compassion needed to say such a thing to a grieving father remains incomprehensible. He
also said, Never let me find you again, old sir, near our hollow ships, neither lingering now, nor
coming again after. (6.106 120) He explains to the father that if he ever sees him again, he will kill

Projects Before Php Fog Essay
Projects Before PHP Fog
When I started PHP Fog, I did none of the steps that I would recommend now. Most of the time, I didn
t use a bank account or think about ideal customers. I just had an idea that I thought was a good idea,
and as a programmer, I started building the idea. I didn t validate if it was a good idea. I thought, I
want that, so it must be something people want, or I think that s clever, so I think I ll build it, and other
people will sign up for it. I would spend weeks or months doing this on the side as my night project.
I would work on programming a project for a few weeks, and ninety percent of the time, I would get
bored and give up on it. Ten percent of the time, I would finish a project, launch it, and nobody would
sign up. Then I would give up on it. I did that for many years.
Finding a problem
The first time I did anything different was with PHP Fog. There was a cool platform called Heroku,
which was a service for developers to build apps easier. I started moving my own applications to
Heroku, which used applications programmed in Ruby on Rails. I had lots of Ruby applications, so I
said to myself, I m moving all of my stuff to Heroku, this is great! Unfortunately, I also had PHP
applications. At the time, Heroku didn t use PHP applications, only Ruby. So then I said, Here s a
problem: I want to move everything to Heroku, but I can t because I have PHP applications. A light
bulb went off in my head. Okay, PHP Fog, I said. I

Byzantine Empire Dbq Essay
Through the chaos and anarchy from the destruction of Rome emerged a powerful empire. It all began
in 323CE when a young general named Constantine became the Emperor of Rome. He was quick to
make some changes, including moving the imperial capital from Rome to Byzantium, but he renamed
it Constantinople. The Byzantine Empire was separated from the Roman Empire s collapse so it
managed to survive and maintain order in the east. In 1054 the Byzantines split from the Roman
Catholic Church in the west and developed the Eastern Orthodox Church. They prospered for almost a

Essay on Deterioration in Long Distance Relationship
Introduction
Long distance relationship, known as LDR is model of a romantic relationship that takes place when
the partners are separated by significant distance. I have been experiencing this kind of relationship
since 10 months ago and still going. As an international student studying abroad, my boyfriend and I
separated within thousand miles between Indonesia and Australia. Although the time different is not
far different and communication device is not a problem, deterioration still appears in our relationship.
Habits and dating style changed create insecure feelings that raise negative perception of relationship.

Believe and faith within each other slowly fades away and changed with ego.
Along with our relationship deterioration, I begin to think about our future. We have been in
relationship for 3 years and this long distance relationship interrupt our romance. We used to be a fun,
joyful, understanding and cool couple. Although, I feel that there is no sign that he would wait for me
or ask me to marry me. Everything is just plain. I do not have any excitement anymore to continue this
relationship because we have no goals. This LDR actually stressed me and I do not want to waste my
time to person who not even has thought about our future. Future and certainty are clearly important in
this LDR relationship. Every serious couple would go through anything to reach their future goals.
And actually LDR is not really a hard matters regarding to bright future. People who have future of
their relationship would have happily gone through any kind of relationship because they already
know that their pain would worth for the future.
# Commitment
In long distance relationship, commitment is required to built a success relationship. Commitment
made relationship grow stronger and also built faith and believe in each other. Without a strong
commitment, LDR would be easy to get deteriorated, in fact that in ordinary relationship (without any
distance apart) the absence of commitment would break up the relationship. My relationship was built

Animal Rights Violations
One major issue that is encountered around the United States and the world is the bitter issue of
animal rights violations. Some violations include ignoring the right of hunger and thirst, freedom from
pain and discomfort and freedom to express normal behavior. In addition, people and organizations
need to recognize and prevent abuse and neglect of animals. Zoo s force animals to live in artificial
life. This focusing more on the main aspect of Animal Abuse in captivity concerning the conservation,
attitude and post zoo on top of animal breeding in confinement.
Animals that are put in containment such as zoos and safaris live in restraints in an environment
designed for them. Now some may say this is a good thing, but some animals might not be able to
cope with these kinds of environments and it could lead to poor animal welfare and suffering. Animals
that are put in zoos are taken out of their natural habitat and inquired in a small confined environment.
During this procedure animal catchers killed any other animal that got in their way, including the
mothers to take their young. Zoos search for babies because they know that they are appealing to the
public. The animals that had been taken most die on the long journey back to the zoo.

How To Cute Pets Changed My Life
At the beginning of my life; I was sewed, stuffed and dressed at a company called Cute Pets. Then, I
was sent to a store called Toys R US; which is where my old owner s mom got me from for $5.50. I
was for her little girl s birthday, so I was put into a purple sparkly gift bag. On, December 20th of
2014 she was turning 5 years old. Her Name was Annie, and when she opened the bag I saw that she
had bright blonde hair and glimmering blue eyes. She took me straight to her room, where she played
with me and her other toys; Mr.Snuggle the Bear, Bluey the Whale and Clarice the Porcelain Doll. She
also named me Snowbell After that day, she would always play tea and set us all up in tiny toy chairs.
But every night only the select few of us

Growing a Garden in Death of a Salesman
Growing a Garden
In Death of a Salesman, Arthur Miller uses motifs and symbols to express some of the problems of the
main character, Willy. Miller motivates Willy to start a garden in the backyard of his apartment, even
though the garden won t grow. This showed Willy to be the type who does not accept defeat, as he
believes he can grow a garden, but to the reader, it s obvious that he can t. Although filled with the
desire to grow a garden in order to start anew, Willy is unable to do so due to his apartment and his
thoughts. To start off, Willy s inability to grow a garden is majorly due to the environment his
apartment is placed in. In this story, the apartment is a tool of symbolism used to develop the idea of
the modern world. The apartment that blocks the sun into his backyard limits Willy s ability to grow a
garden. This modern society shadows over his house, keeping the sun away, also keeping him in the
past. This leads to the way the modern world is run, and because it is different than what Willy can
handle, he cannot adapt to modern society. The modern world restricts Willy from starting anew, but
the irony being that not only does Willy not have the money to move on from his house and into a
place where he could grow a garden, he simply doesn t want to. He wishes to stay, but needs money to
pay off the house. His lack of money is expressed as Linda mentions for him not to forget to ask for a
little advance (53). What Linda is referring to is that Willy

Argumentative Essay On Identical Twins
Twins have a special claim upon our attention; it is, that their history affords means of distinguishing
between the effects of tendencies received at birth, and those that were imposed by the special
circumstances of their after lives. says Sir Francis Galton, 19th century behavioral genetics pioneer.
Researchers have used twin studies to try to figure out the genetic backgrounds of an abundance of
traits, from determination to intelligence to bizarre to alcohol dependence.
The study of twins relies on studying teens raised in the same family environments. Identical twins
(Monozygotic) share all of their genes, while fraternal (dizygotic) only share 50% of their genes.
Researchers use this method to estimate the heritability of traits.

The Eight Stages Of Erikson s Psychosocial Development
Abstract
This paper studies the eight stages of Erik Erikson s psychosocial development and the impact is has
had on how the people view the personality development during infancy to late adulthood. These
stages are split up into specific age groups and show how the developments occur. There are
difficulties presented within the groups that the child, teenager, and adult go through and experience
within their lives. These are positive and negative experiences that ultimately decide the outcome of
each person. Each person has a different life experience so these stages help to show how a person
grows into their personality as they age in life. These experiences show that they can define who a
person is and they are crucial.
Erikson s Eight Stages of Psychosocial Development
Erik Erikson s eight stages of psychosocial development have made a major impact on how people
view where and how a personality develops within a person. The many stages go in order from
infancy to late adulthood. The stages have some sort of difficulty that each person goes through while
one being a positive outcome and one being a negative outcome. According to McLeod, Erikson s
ideas were greatly influenced by Freud and his theory regarding the structure and topography of
personality. (McLeod, 1970) According to the textbook, the first stage is the Oral Sensory stage. This
stage goes from birth to one year of life. It studies basic trust versus mistrust. In this stage, the mother

Gender Gap Within The Fields Of Science, Technology,...
In LIBS 6137 I analyzed topics that affected today s teens. I found that a gender gap exists in the
fields of science and technology. Females are underrepresented in the area of Science, Technology,
Engineering, and Mathematical (STEM) related careers. According to research, girls should be
encouraged to pursue their interests, find mentors, and collaborate with others in the areas of science,
technology, engineering, and mathematics. In light of these findings, I presented a booktalk to a group
of girls ages 15 19 on six books in which the main characters are strong women who have a special
interest or talent in STEM related subjects. A handout was also created for each student and the host.
The handout contained a description of the six books presented in the booktalk, similar books that may
be of interest to students on the same topic, as well as websites, magazines, software, and videos. A
total of eighteen resources were included that fit into the STEM topic presented to students. Digital
evaluation forms were created for the students and the host of the booktalk to complete. My personal
experience and data gathered from the evaluation forms were used to create a self evaluation narrative.

Proteins Are Colonic Epithelial Receptors For C. Difficile...
Finally, a paper published in September 2016 reveals that frizzled proteins are colonic epithelial
receptors for C. difficile toxin B [22]. As they are introducing their studies of identifying potential
TcdB receptors, they highlight some downfalls in previous studies, such as the fact that whilst CSPG4
was showed as an interacting receptor with Toxin B in HeLa and HT29 cells [17], CSPG4 is not
actually present in the colonic epithelium [23]. Also, they comment on the fact that PVRL3 was
shown only to be associated with TcdB cytotoxicity and not proof of PVRL3 acting as a receptor itself
[13], however, there was evidence of PVRL3 interaction with TcdB, as discussed above [14]. This
study used a genome wide screen via CRISPR/Cas9 mutagenesis and identification of TcdB resistant
mutants, which identified the Wnt receptor frizzled family (FZDs) as TcdB receptors [22]. This mutant
screening with native TcdB also confirmed CSPG4 as TcdB receptor and further studies showed it is
CROP dependent [17, 22]. The highest ranking mutant of plasma membranes when screened with the
truncated TcdB1 1830 was FZD2, a member of the Wnt receptor frizzled family (FZDs) [22]. In
healthy cells, the Wnt signaling, in which FZD proteins contribute to, are critical signal pathways
involved in proliferation and self renewal function of colonic epithelial cells [24, 25]. TcdB competes
for Wnt to bind to these regions, inhibiting Wnt signaling, which in turn affects the health of colonic
cells [22]. It

Rise Of Birth Control
Introduction
In 1965, President Johnson said, Less than five dollars invested in population control is worth a
hundred dollars invested in economic growth. The rise of contraception in the United States, like birth
control pill, was controversial, highly debated in courts and law, and once the movement got rolling, it
was hard to stop. When a Gallop Poll in 1936 asked if United States citizens favor the birth control
movement, 61 percent answered yes. This was a shocking discovery, because until that time
contraception seemed like a taboo topic. Today, manufacturing and selling birth control is legal in all
50 states. Family planning services are also now subsidized federal and state governments and
nonprofit and private organizations. This nationwide movement enables women to choose when they
start families. By allowing women to have the authority to utilize contraception, positive trends have
been seen in economic advancement, education attainment and population trends.
The Rise of Birth Control The first oral contraception, Envoid, was introduced in 1957. The problem
was that state laws prohibited physicians from prescribing the Pill and pharmacists from selling it.
Two major shifts in the access to birth control occurred about 50 years ago. In 1965, the trial Griswold
versus Connecticut ended restrictions on the sale of contraceptives. Federal government boosted
funding for family planning from 1964 to 1973, these changes are still making a positive impact today.

night when I looked at the school day which daunted my near future, and I would kick and cry in first
terror, then rage as we pulled onto the black asphalt which reeked of freedoms death. Planning on

Causes Of The Yamasee War
The Yamasee War
There were always conflicts between the Native Americans and the colonist when the colonist settled
in North America. For example, the Pequot War, which lasted from 1636 1637 and was among the
colonist of Connecticut, Massachusetts Bay, and Saybrook versus the Pequot Indians. The Yamasee
War was another conflict that killed over 400 colonist in South Carolina. The colonist vigorously
stole, lied, and forced the Yamasee into slavery. To not be seen as weak the Yamasee raided the
colonist homes and plantations to kill and destroy them and their property. This led to small militia s
of the colonist fighting back and after two long years of fighting, the Yamasee lost the war. To end the
war, many tribes signed a peace accord. This pushed the Yamasee along with more tribes down to
Florida, where they formed the Seminole tribe.
Unfair trade and fear also caused the Yamasee War. The main goal for the English in North America
was to find gold. When no gold is found, the colonist trade products like fur and skins with the
Yamasee who until now relied on themselves for everything. However, the colonist start to treat the
Yamasee unfair or unjustly, like in this example, From the Yamasee perspective, their Carolina allies
had become greedy, irresponsible, and violent, thereby destroying the chains of obligation that once
bound them as allies. (Slavery in Indian Country: The Changing Face of Captivity in Early America).

The author believes that the government and European taxes are the main political factors that can
affect the future of the company. Airport taxes are levied as a fixed tax on the sale of airline seats in
most of the countries where easyJet operates. The UK government had established one of the highest
taxes in Europe Air Passenger Duty (APD). In 2008, the APD tax is charged at £10 £20 for flights

out an advertisement in the UK national newspaper for making the APD tax greener and free of
subsidies to airlines with transfer passengers. EasyJet takes action to replace the APD tax with a flight
base tax. This means that the passengers that fly in the newest aircraft cause less pollution and they
should not pay the same money as somebody using an old aircraft.

The Feudal System In The European Middle Ages

While it may seem insignificant to Europe and Europe s history compared to other events like the
Hundred Years War or the Black Plague which killed many people and completely changed many

happens a little while later. When Rome fell, Europe, no longer being in a united and unified empire,
was split up into numerous states all of which were in complete chaos. Powerful warlords proclaimed
themselves as kings and took over land, creating multiple separate states that were no longer united.
This disorder allowed many bandits and raiders to freely attack. With no central government to protect
them, the people were helpless against these attacks. Many new barbarian kingdoms also attacked the
states of the crumbled Europe. While all this was going on, the people were desperately looking for
something that could help them. Feudalism was truly important in order to stop this chaos.
The gradual creation of the Feudal System was extraordinarily important to many different things that
occurred and made many changes to the lives of the people. If there was no gradual creation of
Feudalism, the world of Europe would be remarkably different with many changes such as there

Battle Of Bunker Hill Essay
THE BATTLE OF BUNKER HILL Introduction The Battle of Bunker Hill was one of the first battles
fought during the American Revolution between a misfit army of American colonists and the Royal
British Army. The Revolutionary War was a result of patriot colonists speaking out against the taxes
and regulations being imposed upon them by King George III and resulted in the establishment of
America as an independent nation. The objectives of the Battle of Bunker Hill were first and foremost
to stand up to the British army, and secondly, to keep the British from gaining complete control over
the city of Boston and the surrounding area. History Historically, The Battle of Bunker Hill is one of,
if not THE most notable battle during the American Revolution. Events leading up to the Battle of
Bunker Hill began twelve years prior with the British Proclamation of 1773 which prohibited colonists
from settling west of the Appellation Mountains.1 Over the next twelve years, British rule instituted
many expensive taxes on everything from marriage licenses to sugar and tea. Harsh treatment from the

An Interpretation Of Two Behavior Therapy Methods For...
An interpretation of two behavior therapy methods for patients with Social Phobia
Social Phobia is the fear of being embarrassed or being judged by others. This fear restricts the person
from living their everyday lives. It is also characterized as a type of anxiety disorder. A greater part of
patients who inhibit this disorder report encountering adverse images, these negative images are
connected to memories from the past in which the person experienced a traumatic event. The behavior
therapy used in this article is imagery rescripting (IR), this therapy concentrates on altering the
significance of the undesirable memories. Therefore, the objective of imagery rescripting is to lessen
the discomfort of the past memories that affect present experiences. This is done by identifying their
negative events as secluded events in the past, therefore, the negative experiences the patient
encountered in the past no longer hold the focal point in patient s life or anyone in their environment.
Imagery rescripting is distant from other therapies because this therapy restores the essence of the
patient s traumatic memory by proposing a compassionate mindset.
Six patients were extracted from successive referrals for anxiety disorder from PsyQ, a mental health
center located in Netherlands. Patients categorize from 21 to 47 years, both male and female, having 1
to 18 years of duration of social phobia, as well as having good standing levels of education. Each
patient is struggling with

This type of test can determine if any of the following factors are present: bacteria in the blood, problems with clotting due to low platelet count, excess waste products in the blood, abnormal liver or kidney function, decreased amount of oxygen, or electrolyte imbalance. Depending on your symptoms and the results of the blood test, there are other tests that a doctor may want to perform to determine the source of your infection. Other tests that can be performed include: urine test, wound secretion test (if you have an open area that looks infected), mucus secretion test (to see what type of germ is behind the infection), or a brain and spinal fluid test. In cases where the source of the infection is not clear from the tests, a doctor might want to get an internal view of your body using X rays, computed tomography scan, ultrasound or a magnetic resonance imaging. X rays allow a doctor to get a good view of the lungs while a computed tomography (CT) scans provides a view of possible infections in the appendix, pancreas, or bowel areas. An ultrasound shows a view of infections in the gallbladder or ovaries and the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) gives doctors a view of any soft tissue infections, such as spinal ... The description of the dusty roads, the unpainted board sided house, the daily chore requirements and their lack of excess cause the reader a reaction of empathy for the family. Miller motivates Willy to start a garden in the backyard of his apartment, even though the garden won t grow. This showed Willy to be the type who does not accept defeat, as he believes he can grow a garden, but to the reader, it s obvious that he can t. Although filled with the desire to grow a garden in order to start anew, Willy is unable to do so due to his apartment and his thoughts. To start off, Willy s inability to grow a garden is majorly due to the environment his apartment is placed in. In this story, the apartment is a tool of symbolism used to develop the idea of the modern world. The apartment that blocks the sun into his backyard limits Willy s ability to grow a garden. This modern society shadows over his house, keeping the sun away, also keeping him in the past. This leads to the way the modern world is run, and because it is different than what Willy can handle, he cannot adapt to modern society. The modern world restricts Willy from starting anew, but the irony being that not only does Willy not have the money to move on from his house and into a place where he could grow a garden, he simply doesn t want to. Argumentative Essay On Identical Twins Twins have a special claim upon our attention; it is, that their history affords means of distinguishing between the effects of tendencies received at birth, and those that were imposed by the special circumstances of their after lives. says Sir Francis Galton, 19th century behavioral genetics pioneer. Researchers have used twin studies to try to figure out the genetic backgrounds of an abundance of traits, from determination to intelligence to bizarre to alcohol dependence. The study of twins relies on studying teens raised in the same family environments. Identical twins (Monozygotic) share all of their genes, while fraternal (dizygotic) only share 50% of their genes. Researchers use this method to estimate the heritability of traits. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 26. The Eight Stages Of Erikson s Psychosocial Development Abstract This paper studies the eight stages of Erik Erikson s psychosocial development and the impact is has had on how the people view the personality development during infancy to late adulthood. These stages are split up into specific age groups and show how the developments occur. There are difficulties presented within the groups that the child, teenager, and adult go through and experience within their lives. These are positive and negative experiences that ultimately decide the outcome of each person. Each person has a different life experience so these stages help to show how a person grows into their personality as they age in life. These experiences show that they can define who a person is and they are crucial. Erikson s Eight Stages of Psychosocial Development Erik Erikson s eight stages of psychosocial development have made a major impact on how people view where and how a personality develops within a person. The many stages go in order from infancy to late adulthood. The stages have some sort of difficulty that each person goes through while one being a positive outcome and one being a negative outcome. According to McLeod, Erikson s ideas were greatly influenced by Freud and his theory regarding the structure and topography of personality. (McLeod, 1970) According to the textbook, the first stage is the Oral Sensory stage. This stage goes from birth to one year of life. It studies basic trust versus mistrust. • 29. Gender Gap Within The Fields Of Science, Technology,... In LIBS 6137 I analyzed topics that affected today s teens. I found that a gender gap exists in the fields of science and technology. Females are underrepresented in the area of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematical (STEM) related careers. According to research, girls should be encouraged to pursue their interests, find mentors, and collaborate with others in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. In light of these findings, I presented a booktalk to a group of girls ages 15 19 on six books in which the main characters are strong women who have a special interest or talent in STEM related subjects. A handout was also created for each student and the host. The handout contained a description of the six books presented in the booktalk, similar books that may be of interest to students on the same topic, as well as websites, magazines, software, and videos. A total of eighteen resources were included that fit into the STEM topic presented to students. Digital evaluation forms were created for the students and the host of the booktalk to complete. • 30. Proteins Are Colonic Epithelial Receptors For C. Difficile... Finally, a paper published in September 2016 reveals that frizzled proteins are colonic epithelial receptors for C. difficile toxin B [22]. As they are introducing their studies of identifying potential TcdB receptors, they highlight some downfalls in previous studies, such as the fact that whilst CSPG4 was showed as an interacting receptor with Toxin B in HeLa and HT29 cells [17], CSPG4 is not actually present in the colonic epithelium [23]. Also, they comment on the fact that PVRL3 was shown only to be associated with TcdB cytotoxicity and not proof of PVRL3 acting as a receptor itself [13], however, there was evidence of PVRL3 interaction with TcdB, as discussed above [14]. This study used a genome wide screen via CRISPR/Cas9 mutagenesis and identification of TcdB resistant mutants, which identified the Wnt receptor frizzled family (FZDs) as TcdB receptors [22]. This mutant screening with native TcdB also confirmed CSPG4 as TcdB receptor and further studies showed it is CROP dependent [17, 22]. The highest ranking mutant of plasma membranes when screened with the truncated TcdB1 1830 was FZD2, a member of the Wnt receptor frizzled family (FZDs) [22]. In healthy cells, the Wnt signaling, in which FZD proteins contribute to, are critical signal pathways involved in proliferation and self renewal function of colonic epithelial cells [24, 25]. TcdB competes for Wnt to bind to these regions, inhibiting Wnt signaling, which in turn affects the health of colonic cells [22]. It ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Rise Of Birth Control Introduction In 1965, President Johnson said, Less than five dollars invested in population control is worth a hundred dollars invested in economic growth. The rise of contraception in the United States, like birth control pill, was controversial, highly debated in courts and law, and once the movement got rolling, it was hard to stop. When a Gallop Poll in 1936 asked if United States citizens favor the birth control movement, 61 percent answered yes. This was a shocking discovery, because until that time contraception seemed like a taboo topic. Today, manufacturing and selling birth control is legal in all 50 states. Family planning services are also now subsidized federal and state governments and nonprofit and private organizations. This nationwide movement enables women to choose when they start families. By allowing women to have the authority to utilize contraception, positive trends have been seen in economic advancement, education attainment and population trends. The Rise of Birth Control The first oral contraception, Envoid, was introduced in 1957. The problem was that state laws prohibited physicians from prescribing the Pill and pharmacists from selling it. Two major shifts in the access to birth control occurred about 50 years ago. In 1965, the trial Griswold versus Connecticut ended restrictions on the sale of contraceptives. Federal government boosted funding for family planning from 1964 to 1973, these changes are still making a positive impact today. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

An interpretation of two behavior therapy methods for patients with Social Phobia Social Phobia is the fear of being embarrassed or being judged by others. This fear restricts the person from living their everyday lives. It is also characterized as a type of anxiety disorder. A greater part of patients who inhibit this disorder report encountering adverse images, these negative images are connected to memories from the past in which the person experienced a traumatic event. The behavior therapy used in this article is imagery rescripting (IR), this therapy concentrates on altering the significance of the undesirable memories. Therefore, the objective of imagery rescripting is to lessen the discomfort of the past memories that affect present experiences. This is done by identifying their negative events as secluded events in the past, therefore, the negative experiences the patient encountered in the past no longer hold the focal point in patient s life or anyone in their environment. Imagery rescripting is distant from other therapies because this therapy restores the essence of the patient s traumatic memory by proposing a compassionate mindset. Six patients were extracted from successive referrals for anxiety disorder from PsyQ, a mental health center located in Netherlands.
