Connections Between U.S. Presidents and Roman Emperors
Throughout history, countless leaders, had their periods of leadership among the masses; a story of
how they claimed their superior position. Are there connections though between leaders and their
lives, positions, and their form of a kingdom? My goal is to find these connections between the United
States current and former presidents, Barrack Obama and George W. Bush and two Roman emperors,
Augustus and his great grandson, Nero.
After a 20 year period of transition from the republic and the assassination of Julius Caesar, Augustus
returned to Rome forming an alliance with Mark Antony and Marcus Lepidus known as the Second
Triumvirate which led to the establishment of the Roman Empire. The first 206 years of the Roman
Empire were known ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was suspected by some historians that Nero caused the fire of 64. Nero attempted to rebuild Rome
and organize the construction of the buildings that were burned or destroyed. The attempt to rebuild
Rome cost immense funds that the Rome State Treasury didn t have, causing the Roman currency to
decrease in value.
Nero was surrounded by death and as emperor was known for his many of his atrocities and
executions, including the execution of his mother. Even as a child, Nero was surrounded by death in
his family. Nero s father, Lucious Ahenobarbus, died when Nero was 2 years old. Several other family
members deaths followed including: his uncle, aunt and cousin; his half brother, and his mother. After
becoming emperor, he had ordered the execution of his mother for having indecent relations.
Later in his reign, Nero became one of the first prosecutors of Christians. After the fire of 64, Nero
tortured and executed countless Christians. Was known by some historians as the antichrist that the
bible predicted.
Our government now has great contrast to the Roman Empire but like the up Empire, we look to one
man for leadership and approval. In a democracy, that one man is known as the president. The masses
vote on a president to represent them for four years. As president, they have several responsibilities
whether it is foreign relations and policy, decided to pass a bill, deploying troops

What Were The Primary Reasons For The Fall Of Rome
What were the primary reasons for the fall of Rome? Here are some of the three main reasons why the
Roman Empire fell, and the causes of this fall. To start of with in the second year of the reign of Valens
in 366 ce a disaster happened..an earthquake came upon the roman empire and destroyed numerous
amounts of cities. But the roman empire was not prepared for this earthquake, this caused many
deaths. Also shores were left dry in the mediterranean but then the tide returned very soon with the
weight of a flood which returned on the coasts of Sicily,Greece, and Egypt, all of this caused over fifty
thousand deaths in the city of Alexandria. After that then plagues swept over the empire which brought
all kinds of diseases from southern asia.

Food Insecurity Issues Essay
/2016 Franklinton, a neighborhood on the outskirts of Columbus, Ohio, has faced issues since its first
settlement and since, has had to deal with more. Often being referred to as The Bottoms because of its
location and lower socioeconomic status, it has not been able to keep up with the development of
Columbus. In the more recent years, great efforts have been put in motion to increase the quality and
quantity of life in Franklinton. We will explore the redevelopment of Franklinton and the issues it
faces with food insecurity.
The city of Columbus is a wonderful place, bustling with innovation but maintaining a healthy
population. The city runs in a very respectable fashion. Columbus is big enough to be a city, while
being small enough to allocate its resources and put plans in action. Although large, the city is
connected, business leaders and public officials know each other and collaborate to make change. The

Accessing healthy produce can be hard during different times and in Franklinton, it is almost always
an issue. The growing community gardens are providing people with a closer relationship to their food
which increases awareness and involvement. Interacting with food and understanding the process it
takes to bring it to a plate encourages good food utilization. The Franklinton community holds
gatherings involving people in food insecurity and raising awareness about related issues.
As the neighborhood of Franklinton faces its issues, its community flourishes and becomes a place
where food awareness is growing and food insecurity is decreasing. The development of this area is a
great advance and as it continues, the quality of life increases. People become happier and healthier as
they learn and grow. The neighborhood of Franklinton, which was often referred to as The Bottoms is
rapidly growing out of its name. The redevelopment of Franklinton will continue to be a

Dispute Between Marshall Peterson And Barfield Family Farms
Mediation Memorandum
TO: Alex Fairchild, Mediator
FROM: Marshall Petersen
DATE: March 7, 2017
SUBJECT: Dispute between Marshall Peterson and Barfield Family Farms
My name is Marshall Peterson. I am the owner of a small, local health food products business, in
Huntsville Alabama. I have recently filed a civil action lawsuit against Barfield Family Farms, a local
produce supplier, for breach of contract. I have agreed to try and resolve this matter through this
mediation, at the Barfield Family Farm s request.
Facts of the case I began exploring faith with my Christian wife, Gloria, about six months ago, and
made the decision to attend church with her. On the first day of attending church, I was approached by
a fellow parishioner ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Directly after the article s publication, Mr. Barfield informed me that his family farm could no longer
supply the Muscadine grapes and other antioxidant products to my health store. As a business owner, I
believe the breach of contract by Mr. Barfield and his family farm, will cause irrevocable harm to my
business profits. As a learning student of faith and Christ, I am perplexed by Mr. Barfield s integrity.
In church, I have been learning that just as God keeps his words, he expects his followers to do the
same. I offer you the following Bible verse as a basis for expecting Mr. Barfield to fulfill his Christian
duty to his promise, It is better not to make a vow than to make one and not fulfill it. (Ecclesiastes 5:5,
New International Version).
Contract Terms
The set forth agreement is between Marshall Peterson and Barfield Family Farms. Marshall Peterson
retains the right to buy Muscadine grape and other antioxidant products by the Muscadine seeds from
Barfield Family Farms at any quantity requested. Barfield Family Farm s billing rates shall be the
same as those outlined in the price schedule in the terms of this contract and shall not exceed $8 per
gallon. Marshall Peterson and Barfield Family Farm shall perform in good faith in by following the
proposed services found in the outlining pricing schedule. This agreement commences upon the

Renaissance Era Research Paper
The Renaissance Era is a period approximately dated from the 1460 s to the 1600 s. It was a period
where reason was celebrated and advanced over metaphysics and mysticism. The general conclusion
when Renaissance comes to mind always seems to center around the growth of Art and Science. The
topic of the contributions made to Psychology by the citizens of the Renaissance Era is often
overlooked, and not many are privy to the role Psychology played in the development of the Era by
perfecting scientific methods and researching reason, thought, and mental illness. The Renaissance
Era was viewed as the rebirth. It was a period where people went back to their more open minded
method of inquiry that had characterized early Greek philosophy. It was ... Show more content on

Though the Renaissance Era is thought to have played a major role in giving birth to the modern
secular life, it began by looking backwards instead of forward to the future with the works of
Francesco Petrarch 1304 1374, who was an influential philosopher whose writings are said to have
marked the beginning of the Renaissance. Petrarch had particular interest in freeing the human spirit,
which he believed was held in the confines of medieval traditions and opted for a more personal
religion based on personal feelings and personal faith. Martin Luther, not to be confused as Civil
Rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was an Augustinian Priest and biblical scholar who did not
agree with what he had witnessed Christianity turn into. His view of Christianity aligned with the
beliefs of St. Paul s and St. Augustine s than that of Aquinas. He believed everyone should suffer the
consequences of their sins, and that God was the only person any human being was answerable to. The
Renaissance was a paradoxical time. There was a growth of interest in human potential coupled with
human achievements, and simultaneously, there was also persecution, witch hunting, superstition,

Synopsis Of The Film Get Rich Or Die Tryin
From Rags To Riches One of the upmost best gangster movies of its time has to be Scarface, it s the
type of movie to keep you glued to your seat from start to finish. Although an older movie, people as
young as their 20 s still seem to know about it and have watched this movie at some point in their
lives. For it is the type of movie that will have you wondering what is going to happen next, from
scene to scene. Like every good gangster movie, it has the usual fundamentals loyalty, cartel business,
and betrayal. A good comparison would be the movie by 50 cent Get Rich or Die Tryin in the sense
that it s the same serious of events. Coming from nothing and getting to the top by doing everything

Analysis Of Alexander Hamilton In The Federalist Papers
The science of politics, however, like most other sciences, has received great improvement. The
efficacy of various principles is now well understood, which were either not known at all, or
imperfectly known to the ancients, wrote Alexander Hamilton in Federalist Paper number 9. In The
Federalist Papers, which Thomas Jefferson described as the best commentary on the principles of
government, which was ever written, writers Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay
sought to articulate and defend the integrity of the new Constitution, and to demonstrate the ways in
which it fulfilled the requirements necessary to establish a Republican form of government. However,
as seen in the opening quote, the new Constitution, while drawing ... Show more content on

First to be explored is Aristotle s Politics. It this work, Aristotle portrays man as an inherently political
animal, with logos and the ability to distinguish injustice from justice. He purports that the purpose of
humanity within nature is to live together and seek justice. Since human beings live as political
animals, the polis arises naturally. The purpose of the polis is not merely to help humans live, but to
help them live well, as morally sound, well educated citizens (Nederman 287). Speaking of the
democratic state specifically, he says, the basis of a democratic state is liberty...one principle of liberty
is for all to rule and be ruled in turn....another is that a man should live as he likes (Book 6.2). In other
words, freedom based upon equality (Book 6.2). This, alongside his the purpose of the polis itself (to
educate and assist citizens in living well and seeking justice) forms the foundation of the promise of
democracy within the selections from Aristotle s Politics. However, what threatens the institutions of
democracy according to Aristotle? First, he finds weakness in democracy s definition of justice: that to
which the majority agree (Book 6.2). In contrasting it with the oligarch s definite ( that to which the
wealthier class ), he states there is some inequality and injustice within each. Each places the
democracy in danger of tyranny, whether

Angela s Ashes-Historical Essay
Is life writing really an accurate representation of past events? Hello everyone and welcome to the
2017 literary convention, I am your keynote speaker Angus Topp and today I will be discussing why
life writing is a very inaccurate way of representing past events. Angela s Ashes by Frank McCourt is
an autobiography of McCourt s life from when he was born to the age of 19, at this time they were in
great deprivation. McCourt s depiction of Limerick and it s locals are shown as a squalid town with
wrongly accusing one local of watching over him. McCourts memory would also not be able to
remember many delicate details such as conversations and exact memories as the year difference was
to significant. To add to all the misery Frank McCourt had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is evident by Paddy Malone, who was featured on the books original covers is McCourt s most
furious detractors but also grew up in the lanes of Limerick. According to Malone, the McCourt s
family lived in a home with green lawn and they were never extremely poor. As described in the book,
Limerick during the 1930 s to 1940 s was described in all its grittiness. The family lived in a run
down, neglected house with unpaved lane of houses that flood regularly. The McCourt s family is
forced to live like this due to the father s alcoholism. The father would always spend the welfare
payments before Angela could get her hands on it to feed their starving children. However Malone s
opinion counteracts the book s description of the family and the home they lived in. Evidence *Insert
Quote*
Without anyone to contest a story it would be 100% believable however when Malone s side of the
story is told McCourt is left with quite a few holes in his plot. This further pushes the idea of how
inaccurate life writing really is. Paragraph 3:
McCourt tends to position the view of the catholic church in a negative way as he is referring back to
the church for answers on what is wrong and right and to confess on many

Fox Demon Research Paper
It is important to note that the story of the fox that is presented by Fee s father is very different from
the traditional telling of the story of the fox. Sohn, points out that in the original telling of the Korean
fox demon, the fox is always seen to have malevolent intentions, which involves poisoning emperors,
seducing men to their death, and killing young virgins (Sohn, 2011). In the traditional depiction, the
fox demon is the stuck on a journey to become human or ascend through the entrapment of male
human souls. Traditionally, the fox demon uses a jewel she places between her mouth and the mouth
of a male and rolls it between them. This process allows the fox demon to capture a soul that she can
utilize to ascend to the heavens. But ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lee points out a defining characteristic of the fox demon is the inability to have a healthy relationship
with a man. Lee refers to a modern retelling of the fox demon where the fox demon is given the
opportunity to have a relationship with a man, but the relationship ultimately fails when he swallows
her jewel (during sex) which destroys her. Lee argues the fox demon is a representation of female
sexuality is designed to uphold patriarchy by depicting female sexuality as monstrous and devouring,
and hence their fox women enact moral conflict in striving to subordinate their fox characteristics to
their desire to be human (Lee, 2011). On the other hand, Lady s Tammamo s marriage to her husband
represents a healthy relationship which renders female sexuality as a positive force, but this is
impossible in the traditional tale of the fox demon. In the traditional tale of the fox demon, the fox
demon is seen as a polluting force which can only consume young men. This framing of the traditional
fox demon is very similar to how queer people are depicted within much of history. Winnubst, a
scholar on Queer Theory, explains that queers have been depicted as sinthomosexuals, or folks who
show no interest in the future because of their inability to produce young. Because young people (the
Child) are the future, queers are then seen as not contributing to the future. They threaten the future in
their inability to create

Era Of Good Feelings Dbq
The Era of Good Feelings (1816 1825) marked a political period during president James Monroe s
presidency in which the disappearance of the Federalists enabled the republicans to govern in a spirit
of harmony. This period is titled so due to nationalism, decrease in political strife, and economic
growth post War of 1812. Although, Monroe managed to achieve his goal of national unity within the
country, there were still issues that had appeared during his presidency. Debates over tariffs, foreign
affairs, the national bank, and slave issues became much more evident during this time period.
Following the War of 1812, people in America did not worry much about foreign affairs nearly as
much as they did over American individualism and nationalism. ... Show more content on

Its purpose was to even out the amount of slaveholding state representatives in congress. To do this,
Maine became free slave state and Missouri was created as a slave state. Because of this, all slavery
was extinguished in the northern states, but available in the southern states (Document E). Congress
also established a line across the southern border of Missouri to distinguish the northern states from
the southern states. All states north of this line must be free of slavery and those south of the line will
contain slavery. This Compromise lasted for roughly 35 years until slavery was completely abolished
in America. The Tariff of 1816 was a protective tariff that helped American businesses by taxing
British goods that were often cheaper and of higher quality than American goods. This ultimately
boosted the sales of American products and was very successful in protecting industries. Most of the

How Did The Enlightenment Influence The Latin American...
The Enlightenment was a movement which focused on logic and individualism instead of tradition
lasting between the 17th and 18th centuries. Ideas from Enlightenment influenced the uprising within
the American colonies, France, and Latin America throughout the 1700 s. Thomas Hobbes thought the
best government should have single ruler. John Locke thought that people should rule themselves
instead of kings. One of the main ideas is that people should be governed by reason, not by tradition.
The Enlightenment influenced the latin American revolution because people believed they could stand
against the government when they thought the government is doing wrong. People thought if they had
the right to fight, they could change the government. These

Russian History
1. Catherine II (the Great). The successor of the sickly Peter III, Catherine II was his wife until his
suspected murder and she took the throne in 1762. Although she made no great reforms in Russian
society, she gathered many friends by her death in 1796.
Catherine had to keep the nobility pleased at all times because if she didn t she could be dethroned
easily. Because of this she carried out very few social reforms. Russia continued to follow an
economic growth that Peter that Great had started. She tried to remove trade barriers, and assisted in

His rule was a time of excellent Russian literary works from authors such as Dostoyevsky and Tolstoi,
despite the policies of censorship and control that he put into place,. During his reign many technical
institutes were founded. By the end of his rule, there were a large number of trained professionals in
Russia. His government also successfully completed the codification of laws, which led to better
economic development, the stabilization of the currency, and the creation of protective tariffs. The
main flaw of Nicholas I s rule was the timidness exhibited by him and his government. Fearing
peasant revolts and the constantly distrusting nobility, the government never took any serious steps
towards abolishing the serf system and reforming their backward agrarian economy.

Alexander I s rule was during the time when the people expected much from their leader, and he

An Analysis of quot; The Sun Rising, quot; by John Donne...
The Sun Rising, by John Donne, is a lyric poem about two lovers. The poem is divided into three
stanzas, each ten lines long. The rhyme scheme in each stanza is ABBACDCDEE. This is a dramatic
poem where the speaker and his lover are in bed together. The speaker personifies the sun, and is
speaking to it throughout the poem. As the sunlight comes through the windows, the speaker tells the
sun to leave them alone. He seems to feel that their life together is complete, and that the sun is being
a nuisance. He then tells the sun that his lover is worth more than anything the sun can ever find
outside their bedroom.
The sunrise has provoked the speaker to speak. The sun is symbolic of an intruder. Although the
speaker acts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He gets right to the point of the poem in the very first sentence, maybe because the sun has woken him
up, and he wants his readers to think that this was the very first thing on his mind.
In the second stanza, the speaker s tone becomes more insulting and modest. He attacks the sunshine
by pointing out that he can cut the sun out of his life by closing his eyes. Even though he is being
arrogant, he is forced to admit that without the sun, he would not be able to see his lover. His attitude
then seems to change again when he says, If her eyes have not blinded thine. From this point on, he
focuses less on the sun and more on his lover and their situation together. He is saying that his lover
and himself are the center of the world.
As we move on to the third stanza, the speaker s conceit continues. The first two lines imply that the
lovers are every state, everywhere. He says, and all princes, I, nothing else. He seems to believe that
he has all control. When the speaker says, Princes do but play us....All wealth alchemy, he believes
that nothing or no one else matters besides him and his lover. At the end of the third stanza, the
speaker decides that since nothing else matters in the world, the sun should only shine in the room
containing him and his lover, Shine here to us, and thou art everywhere: This bed thy center is, these
walls, thy

Summary Of The Greatest Generation By Tom Brokaw
The stories of 47 Americans and their contribution to World War II as well as the struggles they faced
were written down and shared through this book. Tom Brokaw, the author, shared some of their
memories, dreams they had, their jobs, and how the war affected each of them personally. This book
exposed this generation s remarkable bravery, their patriotism, and their accomplishments. Along with
that, similar personal values, goals (both spoken and unspoken), and personality traits were shared
between many of them. This particular group of Americans were modest people who often put the
needs of others before their own. Many of them didn t go to college right away so they could fight for
their country. These Americans often knew what they wanted and they were more than willing to work

They didn t enlist in the military for bragging rights. They were humble and modest and seldom talked
about their war experience even years after the war ended. Thus proving it was for the country as well
as our allies and not for themselves or their reputation. Those reasons could be why Tom Brokaw
considers them to be the greatest generation, but I don t feel the same way he does. Although I believe
this generation is full of extraordinary people, I don t think they re the greatest generation . They are
one of the most patriotic generations, but I don t think patriotism defines your greatness. This
particular generation may have had a lot of humble people, but not all were. Many of them were racist
and/or sexist and weren t so secretive about it and were often blatant with their discrimination to
women and people of various minorities. Browkaw found many humble and good hearted people in
this generation, but as a whole they wasn t perfect and no generation will be. If you ask me, I don t

The Red Badge Of Courage Henry Fleming Character Traits
In the novel, The Red Badge of Courage, by Stephen Crane, Henry Fleming possesses noticeable
character traits. First, Henry Fleming exhibits that he is irritable. In addition to being irritable, Henry
Fleming expresses selfishness. Finally, Henry Fleming displays cowardliness turned to courage.
Throughout the novel, Henry Fleming proves himself to be irritable, selfish, and cowardly turned into
courage.
First, Henry Fleming exhibits that he is irritable. Henry, at one point during the march, was about to
raise an outcry of sense: The generals are stupid. The tattered man asks Henry various questions, and
immediately, Henry becomes irritated and walks away. One of the other regiments was retreating,
Henry, confused, asks why they are running away. Frustrated with no answers, Henry leaped into the

My Fair Lady Dimed Analysis
My Fair Lady and Nickeled and Dimed are both great novels focusing in on wealth and money. While
these books are unique in their own different ways, they are basically the opposites of one another!
My Fair Lady focusing on the young and witty Eliza Doolittle who is brought up into a high class
lady. While in Nickeled and Dimed, Barbara is leaving her high class paying job and moving down
into a low class minimum wage paying job. It is very interesting to see how these two books are so
similar but have two drastically different situations. Furthermore, I believe that people should respect
each class more, we should not scrutinize others based on their education or income level. These
novels really look into what it is like to be in another person s shoes, and I honestly feel that in the end
of both novels, each character had gone on their own journey and in the end had more respect and
outlook on the class system. Beginning with My Fair Lady, the plot is set in London, in the late
Edwardian era. Eliza Doolittle is a young girl lacking a formal education, shadowed from the high
class system. She is then taken in by Henry Higgins, a professor who is highly educated but tends to
strive away from the typical class act, making him have an odd relationship with his mother. Henry
decides to make Eliza into a educated, beautiful, high class lady, and pass her off at a very elegant
event. She then goes through numerous amounts of speech and manner lessons. I also feel

Positive And Negative Impact Of Mexico
When people think of Mexico, they may think of south of the border resorts, margaritas from local
restaurants, or mariachi bands. Drug cartels, human trafficking, or stereotypical comments made by
influential Americans may also come to mind. A country which has fought and earned its rights to
economy, religion, and democracy may not even be considered when the United Mexican States is
thought of. Although much work remains to be done, todays Mexico is home to a government
democracy, strong religious values, a growing albeit slowly economy, and the strongest media system
in Latin America. All of these positive aspects of Mexico have allowed its citizens to enjoy a strong
media network where they ideally can learn new ideas, support their government system, and entertain
themselves, while falling under the development media theory system. Prior to 1519, Mexico was a
land inhabited by many different tribes, all having their own government, economies, and social
systems (history world.org, 2015). These groups of people, which included Aztecs, Mayans, Zapotecs,
Huasatecs, among many others, were agriculturalists, hunters and gatherers, politicians, and religious
leaders, forming civilizations and empires by conquering lands and forming cities (history world.org,

The Importance Of High School Sports

class during the week and have fun with your friends on the weekends without having to worry about
all the real world responsibilities. Many people also say that getting involved in school activities and
participating in sports is what makes your high school journey worthwhile. Now, it s expected that you
re going to forget how to graph a trigonometric function or what the foundations of American

Participating in sports and being involved with a team instills many useful psychological qualities.
Throughout each season, athletes acquire the drive to win and adapt a successful mindset. In attempt
to get the results athletes want, they learn the importance of working as a team, problem solving,
persistence, patience, and leadership (Chen, 10 Reasons ). These qualities derived from
competitiveness also carry over into life after high school. 82% of female executives played organized
sports after elementary school and 60% of these women execs agreed with the statement that sports
participation gave them a competitive edge in the business world ( The Benefits of High School and
Youth Sports ). In addition, athletes benefit from sports socially. According to a study by the National
Longitudinal Study for Adolescent Health, school sponsored activities are positively correlated with
the growth of new and current friendships (NFHS, The Case for High School Activities ). Personally, I
can say that the majority of my friendships began in youth sports teams. Social interactions within
sports also enable encouraging relationships with mentors, such as coaches or captains of the team.
This communication with authority figures provides a base for a skill that is frequently used in future
jobs.
Fortunately, many of these psychological and social benefits also carry over into the classroom. Skills
such as problem solving, time management,

Tea took the environment in. Around her were people having dinner and getting drinks. These people
were upscale and the resturant itself looked pricey. Despite being in a bar full of people, she really felt

A place this upscale, of course he could afford it. His eyes met her s and she quickly turned away and
started to glup down her drink. Awkward...
Done already? The bar tender chuckled.
Yes. Tea replied. Another please?
The bar tender went over to make Tea another drink.
Gardner? A voice said.
Tea turned around and said, Kaiba! What a surprise!
You really going to pretend you weren t just staring at me like a creeper from across the bar? Seto
laughed.
Tea glared at him and said, I was hoping you wouldn t notice.
Of course I noticed! You were being blatant about it. Seto nicked.
Whatever, Kaiba. Tea snapped.
So how are you? Seto said and took a seat next to her.
Good and yourself? Tea asked.

The Pros And Cons Of Heart Transplants
The Problem that we have nowadays is that 29.1 million people have diabetes and 2.1 billion people
are obese these statistics all show that the heart will have no blood sent to the organs or extremities,
your body will have no way of transporting oxygen, blood clots will occur and in a short period of
time you will die. Being over weight makes you prone to get heart problems taking into account such
variables as age, physical activity, sex and smoking habits, the researchers found that people that are
moderately overweight have a 32% higher risk of heart disease compared to people who have a good
health and good a diet. For an obese person, they have, the risk is 81% higher. The problem is

Families that need a heart transplant will be very happy if the transplant works. The negative of the
heart is usually it beats about 50 to 70 times each minute, and the heart rate may increase 2 to 3 fold

Estimates of the cost of the artificial heart include charges for the surgical procedure, device and
console, and continuing medical surveillance. These estimates range from a low of $100,000 to a high
of $300,000 per patient in the initial year. The stress and lack of exercise will restrict the patients from
doing regular exercise because the new heart wouldn t be able to pump fast enough so it could lower
the patients moral. Economical influences consist of the amount of money that is available to the
patient so people living in second and third world countries wouldn t be able to afford the heart. The
positive affect for the moral of the patient would be the patient receiving the transplant would be alive

The demand for indigo cake increased as many wanted to use the cake for various purposes, such as
using it as a blue dye for their painting. However, the supply of indigo cake was decreasing due to the
hard production method, resulting a fluctuation in its price. But, a German chemist, Johann Friedrich
Willhelm Adolf von Baeyer, developed a cheaper alternative method by making synthetic indigo. He
started working with indigo in 1865. His work resulted in the first chemical synthesis of indigo, in
1880. And then, three years later, he announced the chemical structure of synthetic indigo. He then
sold this invention to BASF (Badische Anilin und Soda Fabrik), an international chemical company,
for $100,000. Synthetic indigo, by 1913, had almost completely replaced natural indigo, and by 2002,
17000 tons of synthetic indigo were produced worldwide.

International Financial Accounting Standards Board
Introduction
With the number of countries that have switched to the International Financial Reporting Standards
(IFRS) for their financial reporting, as well as the continued efforts made between the IFRS and US
Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), it is evident that international convergence is
an overall appealing idea for global reporting. With that said, for decades now US GAAP has worked
with IFRS to create a universal standard; and while progress has been made to diminish variances
between the standards, there are still large, if not unattainable efforts ahead of us. The hype over a
proposed uniform set of global accounting standards appears to be stunted by the lost efforts in the
convergence project between the US GAAP and IFRS. As the Financial Accounting Standards Board
(FASB) moves forward with its standards setting, there must be a reevaluation of the goal for
reporting standards and efforts with the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB).
Opinions regarding the optimal direction for the standards boards vary amongst regulators,
practitioners, and academics. Many will argue in support to continue efforts for a uniform set of global
accounting standards and believe this will drive more efficient international business. Those in favor
of a global standard consider it to be in global best interest, and that the standard is worth pursuing for
the long term benefit considering the increasing prevalence of cross border transactions. I agree

Meat Vs Red Meat Research Paper
Everyone loves meat, after all, meat tastes good and offers us various healthy nutrients. However,
people often argue about which is better, red or white meat. Of course, not only nutrition is a factor,
but also taste and methods of cooking.
Myoglobin Makes Meat Red
You may be wondering, what gives red meat its characteristic color? Quite a simple answer, its slow
twitch fibers contain more myoglobin, the molecules which transport oxygen from the bloodstream to
muscles. Hence, muscles that an animal often utilizes becomes darker and reddish. For example, an
ostrich consistently runs, so its muscles are quite active, explaining its red meat.
As for white meat, it has less myoglobin since these muscles are utilized less frequently and in short
bursts. Its fast twitch fibers work during emergency situations, and not in routine activity. For
example, chicken breasts are whiter than ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, it takes a short amount of time to prepare these meals. However, when it comes to taste,
red meat has a deeper flavor than white thanks to the fat content. White meat tends to be bland and
requires the taste of other sauces and toppings to make it taste good.
Eat Both Types for More Nutrition
Eating small amounts of both types of meat will offer you the best of both worlds. You may add pork
and beef to your stew to make it well rounded. Or, you may opt for a meat smoothie in which you can
throw in various types of meat. Doing so may require a power blender, so check (insert site) to
compare the top quality models.
Conclusion
Red meat has its color thanks to dense myoglobin percentage, while white lacks them. Although red
meat has higher fat content, it compensates by having more vitamins and minerals. Furthermore, it has
a richer flavor thanks to having more fat. However, the healthier option is to eat small amounts of both

The Prologue By Anne Bradstreet
WHERE HUMILITY MEETS FEMINISM
Yet grant some small acknowledgement of ours.
Anne Bradstreet is among the most famous historical American female poets. Her seventeenth century
works of writing came at a time when the society was male dominated and the role of women in the
society was much more demeaned. Bradstreet is considered a feminist who advanced her feministic
ideas through her writings.
The Prologue speaks about Bradstreet s struggles with being a woman within a Puritan society. During
this time, women were not meant to speak their minds and were meant to recognise only men s
supposed superiority.
In her first stanza, Bradstreet immediately appears to demean her own writing proclaiming that certain
superior things are out ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Overall, as Margerum notes, Bradstreet never uses her sex as an excuse for writing poor poetry and
never offers apologies for writing poetry in the first place. She did not think it sinful or uncouth for
her to write, but rather, her humble remarks are creative applications of conventional and obligatory
poetic formulae, and not as expressions of self doubt or deprecations of her poetic abilities. John
Winthrop critiqued Bradstreet s writing , saying that it should be the job of men, whose minds are
stronger . Other members of the clergy in the Puritan society criticised Bradstreet because of her
fundamental challenge to the social constriction of female identity. In this regard, Bradstreet has to be
seen as one who possesses feminist sensibilities in what she believed, how she behaved and the life

Eating Disorders Program Analysis
Eating disorders have long been a problem in the United States. Most fail to grasp the severity until
someone close to them experiences the difficulties. Personally, I realized the prevalence of eating
disorders when several children endeared to me commented that they feel too fat or skipped meals in
order to not become obese. Instead of a teenage friend at school that one would assume, younger
children that range from seven to ten years of age made these comments. Realizing the problem, I
decided that I would create a program that would educate younger children regarding the seriousness
and effects of eating disorders. Before designing the program, I researched for weeks in order to find
facts and statistics concerning eating disorders in the United States. The research proved that disorders
begin in children as young as age seven or eight. Additionally, pre teenagers predominantly suffer
from eating disorders. The research also showed that countless victims remain unnoticed due to a
reluctance to tell an adult. Peers lack the education to recognize a presented disorder. In order to curb
the problem, pre teens need to be taught how to identify a disorder and how to aid a friend. To educate
the pre teens, I developed a program called I Like Me Because. The program involves an interactive
slideshow that highlights the symptoms, signs, causes, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

most popular program is that L.L. Bean s employees can have three to five days every year to take
some outdoor activities with colleagues for the purpose of developing new relationships. For instance,
in March, 69 employees took one day to ski and walked in the snow for three miles with their
managers. Another benefit is that if employees want to explore the outdoors, L.L. Bean is willing to

in real world settings, the better they are at explaining them to consumers. I have the same opinion as
McCarthy. Encouraging employees to use the company s products is an efficient business strategy. On
one hand, most of L.L Bean s customers are outdoor enthusiasts, so salesmen who have rich
experience in exploring the outdoors can get more trust from customers. On the other hand, salesmen
can recommend the most suitable products to customers because they are more familiar with the
merits of different products. Furthermore, it is easier for designers to optimize the company s products
because they can find some shortcomings of these products during their outdoor days of experiencing

What Is The Treaty Of Versailles
The Treaty of Versailles resembles more of a forceful ultimatum than a peace treaty between nations.
The United States president Woodrow Wilson himself privately admitted that he would have refused
to sign the Treaty of Versailles if he were a German (1). Although, the Treaty of Versailles was meant
to be the core of the peace settlement after World War I it did very little in serving as a peace treaty.
Possibly because the Germans input were not asked for during the negotiations of the Treaty of
Versailles, furthermore, the Germans had only two options; sign the treaty and be oppressed by the
terms and conditions or do not sign and face invasion that would lead to a war that they were not
capable of winning. The treaty caused great resentment

Mellitus And Atherosclerosis
Diabetes mellitus and atherosclerosis are two diseases that share a relationship between each other.
My research paper will focus on this relationship and ways to manage them. People with diabetes
mellitus who have atherosclerosis are at a higher risk for developing macro and micros vascular
complications. One reason for this is an increase incident of plaque instability and blood clotting. This
is a consequence of the decreased size of the lumen of the blood vessel and the raised capillary

  • 2. Connections Between U.S. Presidents and Roman Emperors Throughout history, countless leaders, had their periods of leadership among the masses; a story of how they claimed their superior position. Are there connections though between leaders and their lives, positions, and their form of a kingdom? My goal is to find these connections between the United States current and former presidents, Barrack Obama and George W. Bush and two Roman emperors, Augustus and his great grandson, Nero. After a 20 year period of transition from the republic and the assassination of Julius Caesar, Augustus returned to Rome forming an alliance with Mark Antony and Marcus Lepidus known as the Second Triumvirate which led to the establishment of the Roman Empire. The first 206 years of the Roman Empire were known ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was suspected by some historians that Nero caused the fire of 64. Nero attempted to rebuild Rome and organize the construction of the buildings that were burned or destroyed. The attempt to rebuild Rome cost immense funds that the Rome State Treasury didn t have, causing the Roman currency to decrease in value. Nero was surrounded by death and as emperor was known for his many of his atrocities and executions, including the execution of his mother. Even as a child, Nero was surrounded by death in his family. Nero s father, Lucious Ahenobarbus, died when Nero was 2 years old. Several other family members deaths followed including: his uncle, aunt and cousin; his half brother, and his mother. After becoming emperor, he had ordered the execution of his mother for having indecent relations. Later in his reign, Nero became one of the first prosecutors of Christians. After the fire of 64, Nero tortured and executed countless Christians. Was known by some historians as the antichrist that the bible predicted. Our government now has great contrast to the Roman Empire but like the up Empire, we look to one man for leadership and approval. In a democracy, that one man is known as the president. The masses vote on a president to represent them for four years. As president, they have several responsibilities whether it is foreign relations and policy, decided to pass a bill, deploying troops ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Here are some of the three main reasons why the Roman Empire fell, and the causes of this fall. To start of with in the second year of the reign of Valens in 366 ce a disaster happened..an earthquake came upon the roman empire and destroyed numerous amounts of cities. • 5. Dispute Between Marshall Peterson And Barfield Family Farms Mediation Memorandum TO: Alex Fairchild, Mediator FROM: Marshall Petersen DATE: March 7, 2017 SUBJECT: Dispute between Marshall Peterson and Barfield Family Farms My name is Marshall Peterson. I am the owner of a small, local health food products business, in Huntsville Alabama. I have recently filed a civil action lawsuit against Barfield Family Farms, a local produce supplier, for breach of contract. I have agreed to try and resolve this matter through this mediation, at the Barfield Family Farm s request. Facts of the case I began exploring faith with my Christian wife, Gloria, about six months ago, and made the decision to attend church with her. On the first day of attending church, I was approached by a fellow parishioner ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Directly after the article s publication, Mr. Barfield informed me that his family farm could no longer supply the Muscadine grapes and other antioxidant products to my health store. As a business owner, I believe the breach of contract by Mr. Barfield and his family farm, will cause irrevocable harm to my business profits. As a learning student of faith and Christ, I am perplexed by Mr. Barfield s integrity. In church, I have been learning that just as God keeps his words, he expects his followers to do the same. I offer you the following Bible verse as a basis for expecting Mr. Barfield to fulfill his Christian duty to his promise, It is better not to make a vow than to make one and not fulfill it. (Ecclesiastes 5:5, New International Version). Contract Terms The set forth agreement is between Marshall Peterson and Barfield Family Farms. Marshall Peterson retains the right to buy Muscadine grape and other antioxidant products by the Muscadine seeds from Barfield Family Farms at any quantity requested. Barfield Family Farm s billing rates shall be the same as those outlined in the price schedule in the terms of this contract and shall not exceed $8 per gallon. Marshall Peterson and Barfield Family Farm shall perform in good faith in by following the proposed services found in the outlining pricing schedule. • 6. Renaissance Era Research Paper The Renaissance Era is a period approximately dated from the 1460 s to the 1600 s. It was a period where reason was celebrated and advanced over metaphysics and mysticism. The general conclusion when Renaissance comes to mind always seems to center around the growth of Art and Science. The topic of the contributions made to Psychology by the citizens of the Renaissance Era is often overlooked, and not many are privy to the role Psychology played in the development of the Era by perfecting scientific methods and researching reason, thought, and mental illness. The Renaissance Era was viewed as the rebirth. It was a period where people went back to their more open minded method of inquiry that had characterized early Greek philosophy. It was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Though the Renaissance Era is thought to have played a major role in giving birth to the modern secular life, it began by looking backwards instead of forward to the future with the works of Francesco Petrarch 1304 1374, who was an influential philosopher whose writings are said to have marked the beginning of the Renaissance. Petrarch had particular interest in freeing the human spirit, which he believed was held in the confines of medieval traditions and opted for a more personal religion based on personal feelings and personal faith. Martin Luther, not to be confused as Civil Rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was an Augustinian Priest and biblical scholar who did not agree with what he had witnessed Christianity turn into. His view of Christianity aligned with the beliefs of St. Paul s and St. Augustine s than that of Aquinas. He believed everyone should suffer the consequences of their sins, and that God was the only person any human being was answerable to. The Renaissance was a paradoxical time. There was a growth of interest in human potential coupled with human achievements, and simultaneously, there was also persecution, witch hunting, superstition, exorcism, and ... Synopsis Of The Film Get Rich Or Die Tryin From Rags To Riches One of the upmost best gangster movies of its time has to be Scarface, it s the type of movie to keep you glued to your seat from start to finish. Although an older movie, people as young as their 20 s still seem to know about it and have watched this movie at some point in their lives. For it is the type of movie that will have you wondering what is going to happen next, from scene to scene. Like every good gangster movie, it has the usual fundamentals loyalty, cartel business, and betrayal. • 8. Analysis Of Alexander Hamilton In The Federalist Papers The science of politics, however, like most other sciences, has received great improvement. The efficacy of various principles is now well understood, which were either not known at all, or imperfectly known to the ancients, wrote Alexander Hamilton in Federalist Paper number 9. In The Federalist Papers, which Thomas Jefferson described as the best commentary on the principles of government, which was ever written, writers Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay sought to articulate and defend the integrity of the new Constitution, and to demonstrate the ways in which it fulfilled the requirements necessary to establish a Republican form of government. However, as seen in the opening quote, the new Constitution, while drawing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First to be explored is Aristotle s Politics. It this work, Aristotle portrays man as an inherently political animal, with logos and the ability to distinguish injustice from justice. He purports that the purpose of humanity within nature is to live together and seek justice. Since human beings live as political animals, the polis arises naturally. The purpose of the polis is not merely to help humans live, but to help them live well, as morally sound, well educated citizens (Nederman 287). Speaking of the democratic state specifically, he says, the basis of a democratic state is liberty...one principle of liberty is for all to rule and be ruled in turn....another is that a man should live as he likes (Book 6.2). In other words, freedom based upon equality (Book 6.2). This, alongside his the purpose of the polis itself (to educate and assist citizens in living well and seeking justice) forms the foundation of the promise of democracy within the selections from Aristotle s Politics. However, what threatens the institutions of democracy according to Aristotle? First, he finds weakness in democracy s definition of justice: that to which the majority agree (Book 6.2). • 9. Angela s Ashes-Historical Essay Is life writing really an accurate representation of past events? Hello everyone and welcome to the 2017 literary convention, I am your keynote speaker Angus Topp and today I will be discussing why life writing is a very inaccurate way of representing past events. Angela s Ashes by Frank McCourt is an autobiography of McCourt s life from when he was born to the age of 19, at this time they were in great deprivation. McCourt s depiction of Limerick and it s locals are shown as a squalid town with wrongly accusing one local of watching over him. McCourts memory would also not be able to remember many delicate details such as conversations and exact memories as the year difference was to significant. To add to all the misery Frank McCourt had ... According to Malone, the McCourt s family lived in a home with green lawn and they were never extremely poor. As described in the book, Limerick during the 1930 s to 1940 s was described in all its grittiness. The family lived in a run down, neglected house with unpaved lane of houses that flood regularly. The McCourt s family is forced to live like this due to the father s alcoholism. The father would always spend the welfare payments before Angela could get her hands on it to feed their starving children. However Malone s opinion counteracts the book s description of the family and the home they lived in. Evidence *Insert Quote* Without anyone to contest a story it would be 100% believable however when Malone s side of the story is told McCourt is left with quite a few holes in his plot. This further pushes the idea of how inaccurate life writing really is. Paragraph 3: McCourt tends to position the view of the catholic church in a negative way as he is referring back to the church for answers on what is wrong and right and to confess on many ... Sohn, points out that in the original telling of the Korean fox demon, the fox is always seen to have malevolent intentions, which involves poisoning emperors, seducing men to their death, and killing young virgins (Sohn, 2011). In the traditional depiction, the fox demon is the stuck on a journey to become human or ascend through the entrapment of male human souls. Traditionally, the fox demon uses a jewel she places between her mouth and the mouth of a male and rolls it between them. Lee points out a defining characteristic of the fox demon is the inability to have a healthy relationship with a man. Lee refers to a modern retelling of the fox demon where the fox demon is given the opportunity to have a relationship with a man, but the relationship ultimately fails when he swallows her jewel (during sex) which destroys her. Lee argues the fox demon is a representation of female sexuality is designed to uphold patriarchy by depicting female sexuality as monstrous and devouring, and hence their fox women enact moral conflict in striving to subordinate their fox characteristics to their desire to be human (Lee, 2011). On the other hand, Lady s Tammamo s marriage to her husband represents a healthy relationship which renders female sexuality as a positive force, but this is impossible in the traditional tale of the fox demon. In the traditional tale of the fox demon, the fox demon is seen as a polluting force which can only consume young men. This framing of the traditional fox demon is very similar to how queer people are depicted within much of history. Winnubst, a scholar on Queer Theory, explains that queers have been depicted as sinthomosexuals, or folks who show no interest in the future because of their inability to produce young. Because young people (the Child) are the future, queers are then seen as not contributing to the future. They threaten the future in their inability to create ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The rhyme scheme in each stanza is ABBACDCDEE. This is a dramatic poem where the speaker and his lover are in bed together. The speaker personifies the sun, and is speaking to it throughout the poem. As the sunlight comes through the windows, the speaker tells the sun to leave them alone. He seems to feel that their life together is complete, and that the sun is being a nuisance. He gets right to the point of the poem in the very first sentence, maybe because the sun has woken him up, and he wants his readers to think that this was the very first thing on his mind. Even though he is being arrogant, he is forced to admit that without the sun, he would not be able to see his lover. His attitude then seems to change again when he says, If her eyes have not blinded thine. From this point on, he focuses less on the sun and more on his lover and their situation together. He is saying that his lover and himself are the center of the world. As we move on to the third stanza, the speaker s conceit continues. The first two lines imply that the lovers are every state, everywhere. He says, and all princes, I, nothing else. He seems to believe that he has all control. When the speaker says, Princes do but play us....All wealth alchemy, he believes that nothing or no one else matters besides him and his lover. While these books are unique in their own different ways, they are basically the opposites of one another! My Fair Lady focusing on the young and witty Eliza Doolittle who is brought up into a high class lady. While in Nickeled and Dimed, Barbara is leaving her high class paying job and moving down into a low class minimum wage paying job. It is very interesting to see how these two books are so similar but have two drastically different situations. Furthermore, I believe that people should respect each class more, we should not scrutinize others based on their education or income level. These novels really look into what it is like to be in another person s shoes, and I honestly feel that in the end of both novels, each character had gone on their own journey and in the end had more respect and outlook on the class system. Beginning with My Fair Lady, the plot is set in London, in the late Edwardian era. Eliza Doolittle is a young girl lacking a formal education, shadowed from the high class system. International Financial Accounting Standards Board Introduction With the number of countries that have switched to the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for their financial reporting, as well as the continued efforts made between the IFRS and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), it is evident that international convergence is an overall appealing idea for global reporting. With that said, for decades now US GAAP has worked with IFRS to create a universal standard; and while progress has been made to diminish variances between the standards, there are still large, if not unattainable efforts ahead of us. The hype over a proposed uniform set of global accounting standards appears to be stunted by the lost efforts in the convergence project between the US GAAP and IFRS. As the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) moves forward with its standards setting, there must be a reevaluation of the goal for reporting standards and efforts with the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB). Many will argue in support to continue efforts for a uniform set of global accounting standards and believe this will drive more efficient international business. • 33. The Prologue By Anne Bradstreet WHERE HUMILITY MEETS FEMINISM Yet grant some small acknowledgement of ours. Anne Bradstreet is among the most famous historical American female poets. Her seventeenth century works of writing came at a time when the society was male dominated and the role of women in the society was much more demeaned. Bradstreet is considered a feminist who advanced her feministic ideas through her writings. The Prologue speaks about Bradstreet s struggles with being a woman within a Puritan society. During this time, women were not meant to speak their minds and were meant to recognise only men s supposed superiority. In her first stanza, Bradstreet immediately appears to demean her own writing proclaiming that certain superior things are out ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Overall, as Margerum notes, Bradstreet never uses her sex as an excuse for writing poor poetry and never offers apologies for writing poetry in the first place. She did not think it sinful or uncouth for her to write, but rather, her humble remarks are creative applications of conventional and obligatory poetic formulae, and not as expressions of self doubt or deprecations of her poetic abilities. John Winthrop critiqued Bradstreet s writing , saying that it should be the job of men, whose minds are stronger . Other members of the clergy in the Puritan society criticised Bradstreet because of her fundamental challenge to the social constriction of female identity. In this regard, Bradstreet has to be seen as one who possesses feminist sensibilities in what she believed, how she behaved and the life she ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Eating Disorders Program Analysis Eating disorders have long been a problem in the United States. Most fail to grasp the severity until someone close to them experiences the difficulties. Personally, I realized the prevalence of eating disorders when several children endeared to me commented that they feel too fat or skipped meals in order to not become obese. Instead of a teenage friend at school that one would assume, younger children that range from seven to ten years of age made these comments. Realizing the problem, I decided that I would create a program that would educate younger children regarding the seriousness and effects of eating disorders. Before designing the program, I researched for weeks in order to find facts and statistics concerning eating disorders in the United States. The research proved that disorders begin in children as young as age seven or eight. Additionally, pre teenagers predominantly suffer from eating disorders. The research also showed that countless victims remain unnoticed due to a reluctance to tell an adult. Peers lack the education to recognize a presented disorder. In order to curb the problem, pre teens need to be taught how to identify a disorder and how to aid a friend. To educate the pre teens, I developed a program called I Like Me Because. The program involves an interactive slideshow that highlights the symptoms, signs, causes, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Bean s working environment now because it has added a great number of perks such as free on site massages. The most popular program is that L.L. Bean s employees can have three to five days every year to take some outdoor activities with colleagues for the purpose of developing new relationships. For instance, in March, 69 employees took one day to ski and walked in the snow for three miles with their managers. Another benefit is that if employees want to explore the outdoors, L.L. Bean s human resources, Marie McCarthy, said, The more employees experience L.L. Bean s products in real world settings, the better they are at explaining them to consumers. I have the same opinion as McCarthy. Encouraging employees to use the company s products is an efficient business strategy. On one hand, most of L.L Bean s customers are outdoor enthusiasts, so salesmen who have rich experience in exploring the outdoors can get more trust from customers. On the other hand, salesmen can recommend the most suitable products to customers because they are more familiar with the merits of different products. Furthermore, it is easier for designers to optimize the company s products because they can find some shortcomings of these products during their outdoor days of experiencing them ... The United States president Woodrow Wilson himself privately admitted that he would have refused to sign the Treaty of Versailles if he were a German (1). Although, the Treaty of Versailles was meant to be the core of the peace settlement after World War I it did very little in serving as a peace treaty. Possibly because the Germans input were not asked for during the negotiations of the Treaty of Versailles, furthermore, the Germans had only two options; sign the treaty and be oppressed by the terms and conditions or do not sign and face invasion that would lead to a war that they were not capable of winning. My research paper will focus on this relationship and ways to manage them. People with diabetes mellitus who have atherosclerosis are at a higher risk for developing macro and micros vascular complications. One reason for this is an increase incident of plaque instability and blood clotting. This is a consequence of the decreased size of the lumen of the blood vessel and the raised capillary pressure.
