Critical Review Of The Gunpowder Factory
This critical review examines The former Gunpowder Factory in Dachau a concentration camp for
Political Prisoners , Dachauer Volksblatt. 6th April 1933. This is a primary source in the form of a
speech, directly from Heinrich Himmler himself during a press conference on the 20th March. This
was first published in German, since it was aimed at the German citizens however it was later
translated by Sally Winkle. This speech was given 2 months after Hitler became Chancellor of
Germany, possibly showing he had the intention of getting rid of his hatred towards certain groups
before he actually came into power. His opinions where clearly expressed in Mein Kampf where
Hitler made his opinions somewhat clear on what he thought about inferior races.
Dachau was said to be home to, in the words of Heinrich Himmler, Political prisoners , as well as all
communist functionaries and the Reichsbanner (social democratic party, around during the Weimar
Republic) and the Marxist functionaries. These where seen to be people who threatened the state.
Hitler would have wanted to eliminate and threats to his rise to power, so sending them to a
concentration camp seemed right. However, over time other selections of people where sent here, like
Jehovah s witnesses, romas, homosexuals as well as asocial and repeat criminals. It was after the
Kristallnacht that many Jews would arrive here. This information was retrieved from the USA
holocaust memorial museum and has been deemed a reliable

The Baroque Of Baroque Dance
Baroque dance was a particularly important process in the evolution of ballet. There are many
influences that are part of the process, such as the why baroque was created and the purpose that
baroque dancing served in cultural context. There was an important shift in history that engaged
people to want to move and it is an important subject to be studied. Baroque dance was quite different
from the social dancing we experience today. There are different layers to baroque dance and different
contributors that created a historical permanence in the ballet genre we learn today. This will be an in
depth observation of the baroque era with several different subjects of the era s spectrum. Baroque, its
definition and relation to politics and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even while the events took place, guests would be invited to dance depending on their rank . The king
and queen would participate in minute dancing and it is as literal as it sounds. The king and queen
would dance for a literal minute before the queen would dance with the princes and then the princes
would move on to dance with the princesses all before then bowing to the king (Kassing 109 110).
There was structure, strict structure at that, and all though this is a subtle structure to the baroque era,
it is this structure that is related to the art of ballet we study today. Part of what made the baroque era a
defined art was its intensity of aristocrat power, ...the Baroque approach was likely to exhibit some
combination of power, massiveness, or dramatic intensity, embellished with pageantry, color, and
theatrical adventure (Guisepi). Reflecting on these words, it makes sense why the ballet we train for
today has a certain stoic technique. Ballet was conceived in a royal context. Yes, it was more clearly
developed in later eras, but the baroque era was the seed of such intentional technique. Ballet has
grown to be a very intense performance with a strict technique and it is still associated as one of the
most important, if not the most important, genre to be taught. Especially since it is the base of many
other dance techniques. Again, these social

Morgan and Tyler
The evolutionistic theory refers to the biological concept of progress and development. The theory
states that organisms were meant to increase in complexity, and later on included cultural and social
evolution by comparing primitive tribal groups to modern society, and studying how certain aspects in
the tribal groups were repeated all over the continent. Edward B. Tylor and Lewis H. Morgan brought
the term evolution to anthropology, which makes them crucial to the growth and improvement of
anthropology.
Morgan focused on building upon his theory of social evolution in which he made links between
social and technological progress. He studied and emphasized the kinship relationships across various
cultures and larger social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Edward Burnett Tylor was an Englishman who focused mainly on the development of religion but also
studied human cultural development and Montesquieu s three stages of savagery, barbarism and
civilization. He also looked at moral qualities by focusing and comparing primitive people to
civilization.
Even though Tylor did not do any ethnographical field work or trust information from colonies or
missionaries, he went on holidays to warm climates due to his sickness, where he then learnt and
participated in different cultures and societies. He believed that people should appreciate new places
and the view of different cultures.
Tylor expanded on Montesquieu s ideas and said the savagery time was the time when there was no
technology or in other words, technology was considered as rocks or stone tools, and then he referred
to barbarism as the time of agriculture and food production and finally, civilization which to him
meant the invention of writing. Taylor also believed that civilization was a time of happiness and
where moral qualities were built.
Even though Tylor focused on aspects Morgan didn t in Montesquieu s theory, he was mostly
interested by religion and the evolution of it. He studied the origin of the religion and thought the
belief in spirits and god had to be a universal response to universal experiences such as death, dreams
and reflected images and said these concepts would form a duality

Crime And Crime Essay
Before the twentieth century, explaining crime followed Darwin, and Lumbroso s idea that criminals
were biologically inferior. But with the development of the industry and the urbanization of the late
1800s and 1900s, the Progressive movement arose, arguing that crime was a social product. It was not
the individual and its biologically inferior traits that would cause him to commit crime, it is rather the
environment that causes people to commit crime. That was the beginning of the Chicago School.
Because Chicago witnessed a rapid social change due to industrialization and the sudden urbanization
and mass population shift, it became the prime choice to study how social change impacted criminal
conduct. Researchers at the University of Chicago believed that crime would be best understood by
looking at neighborhood characteristics. Shaw and McKay (1929) were influenced by the Chicago
School in that they asked the question does it make a difference if a child grows up in an inner city
community affected by ethnic heterogeneity, poverty, and social mobility? The question led to shifting
the focus of what causes crime from an individual perspective to a social, environmental perspective.
Thus, when studying delinquency and crime, Shaw and McKay (1929) and Burgess (1967) argued that
neighborhoods may be the contributing factors to crime and not the individual. Shaw and McKay
(1929) hypothesized that delinquency would be higher in areas where social disorganization (i.e.

Ibsen, Henrik Subplots
In this very popular drama from the playwright Henrik Ibsen, Mrs. Linde and Krogstad make an
important contribution to the drama as the subplot of the play A doll s house . The playwright s intent
of this play was to dramatize Victorian society and it is clear that without these characters help, the
main characters would have probably remained stagnant. Nora would have most likely, never would
have come to a self realization of her own lost identity without these subplot characters. Krogstad and
Mrs.L. clearly help the main characters in their evolution throughout the drama with the benefit of
their own past experiences being similar to Nora s. Making mistakes is all a part of life, but the most

little thinner. Mrs.L: And much, much older, Nora. (Ibsen. P 6) At the very end of the play there is a
dramatic twist between both worlds. The poor Mrs.L from the beginning becomes happy again when
she reveals herself to Krogstad and they get back together. The ability for Christine to rebuild her life
with Krogstad can be accepted as a note of hope in Nora s case for the letter that will change her life.
Nora ends up deciding that she could not accept the reaction of her husband and decides to leave her
children and husband behind. This subplot shows how fast two world can change, some for the better
and some for the worst. Krogstad: I have never had such an amazing piece of good fortune in my life.

glimpse into the possible uproar that will come of introducing road pricing to the city of Vancouver.
The masses of people who commute by transit have to pay for it while drivers on the other hand, pay
nothing to use the roads. Woods goes on to describe examples of how drivers get charged for using the
roads in other parts of the world and how it helps to reduce congestion and encourage the use of public
transit. Woods states that in Vancouver, the roads have been free since the beginning of time.
Consequentially, the public does not really comprehend the concept of road pricing let alone have any
experience with it and without the proper education,

How Does Shakespeare Present Macbeth In Act 7 Scene 7
The age of seven is a year full of beginnings. Children at this age start to continuously ask questions
spurred by curiosity. They lack self control and begin to worry more due to their increase in
knowledge. This is the age for them when they begin to understand the world around them even
though it may be difficult to process. Macbeth experiences these occurrences through his time in
Scotland. He constantly questions everything he hears, has increased worryness, and is treated like a
seven year by his older peers. As every other seven year, Macbeth is going through this period of
refinement which shows he s truly a seven year old. Reaching the age of seven has led Macbeth to

The Great Depression
The great depression is one of the most well known economic events of the 20th century because the
economy of the United States collapsed from 1929 to 1933. This was the longest economic depression
in the history of the United States. Despite the positive outlook projected during Herbert Hoover s
campaign in 1928, a large portion of the population, and even many economists did not see the signs
of the crumbling economy. Surprisingly, the great depression emerged along with the positive
economic policies of President Hoover, and the promise to eliminate poverty from the United States.
In overview, it is important to understand the dimensions of the great depression, what caused it, why
the economic crises extended, and the contribution of the financial sector in progression of the
economic catastrophes of this time in American history.
Dimensions of the Great Depression
From 1929 to 1933, the United States economy was at standstill arousing fear and anguish among

Racial Barriers In The Film Remember The Titan s
Remember the Titan s is a film produced in January 2000 by Jerry Bruckheimer featuring black and
white schools integrating. As a result, the football teams also unified forming the titans. Although at
the beginning there was tension among them, they eventually came together to form a truly worthy
team. In the duration of the film, there are many instances in the film where racial barriers are broken
down, and as a result both races are able to get along. When Boone takes the team for a run through
the woods into the graveyard where the battle of Gettysburg took place; he delivers a speech which
breaks down racial barriers because of its hidden meaning. He tells them to take a lesson from the
dead and states that if they didn t come together, they would surely be destroyed . This makes the team

Childhood And Adolescence During The Middle Ages
History has demonstrated that an evolution occurs with the aging of society. One such evolution is the
treatment of children. The concept of parens partriae was influenced by the exesting concepts of
childhood and adolescence during the Middle Ages. It experienced its first major evolution, judging
the 1960s, and has seen a further evolution in modern times. The following essay discuses those
evolutions, and evaluates if they are for the better, or worse.
According to dictionary.com definition of Parens Patriae is the government, or any other authority,
regarded as the legal protector of citizens unable to protect themselves. Parens Patriae is Latin for
parent of his or her country. It refers to the state s ability to act in the capacity of guardian for those
who have the inability to care for themselves. Examples of Parens Patriae are disabled individuals and
children. However, there has not always been protection for children. The middle Ages, was
significantly different for children, then it is at present. During the middle ages, the first relationship
that children experienced were within their immediate families. Like today, children lived with their
parents and siblings. However, because people dies younger, from disease, children were also know to
live with their extended families, such as aunts or uncles. Grandparents were disclosed, as most
grandparents would have died before most children were born. According to In Europe, during the

Understanding The Terminology Of The Lgbt Community
Definition Understanding the terminology of the LGBT community is often complicated. LGBT,
which was once known as the gay community, is an acronym that describes different gender
expression or identities. The acronym was created to be more inclusive and have more diverse groups.
It allowed individuals of the LGBT community to fully express themselves in different ways. The first
word of the acronym is lesbian. The word lesbian is defined as an individual who identifies as a
women and who are physically and emotionally attracted to other women (Huegel, 2011). People who
identify themselves as lesbian may also choose an alternative word to identify themselves as, gay. The
term gay is often used to describe both homosexual men and women however in reference to men, gay
describes men who are physically and emotionally attracted to other men (Huegel, 2011). Men more
often use the term gay when identifying themselves than women. According to Huegel (2011),
bisexual is defined as people who are emotionally and physically attracted to people of either sex
(p.9). When an individual identifies as bisexual it can often cause complications within and outside of
the LGBT community. They are often told, they are confused about who they are, or they just cannot
make up their minds, however bisexuality has been scientifically proven as a valid identity (Huegel,
2011). The last word in the acronym is Transgender. Transgender is also another term that has to be

A Synagogue Experience Essay
I have always been interested in learning about religion in conjunction with experiencing it. Growing
up I was raised in a Christian home and learned very little about any other religion including other
monotheistic religion. Judaism is the religion that I knew the least about and decided that the best
possible way for me to learn more was to experience it. I had only ever heard of Judaism in a comical
or historical way. I chose to go to a Synagogue to further my knowledge and experience Judaism first
hand.
I called ahead to Temple Sinai in Denver and arranged a time to visit with Rabbi Richard Rheins. It
just so happened that a class from Red Rocks was also planning a visit and I was encouraged to join
them as well. I was able to attend a special service on November 11th, Veterans Day. This service was
very different than what I had expected. It was a Shabbat service that included a naming, an honoring
of veterans, as well as two bat mitzvah announcements. I had to dress in business casual attire and
received snacks and drinks at the end called nosh. I had heard previously that during a Shabbat service

his investment style. Buffett is attributed with saying conventional diversification makes no sense for

rationale is that investors should not buy shares of a stock unless they feel the company they are
buying into will be around for a while. To make an assumption that a particular company will still be a
functioning body in the future would require some knowledge of the company s financial situation and
the industry in which it operates. Essentially, Buffett believes that people should only invest in
companies with which they are familiar. Along these lines, one of his strongholds is that many people
purchase stocks of companies in industries with which they are not familiar for the sake of

feel the need to buy watches as costly as Patek Philippe.
What is interesting in this market is that there are no clear leaders. Even though each company s goal

you, do not move I strike. Nagaina is very determined to fight Rikki tikki because she said I m ready

courage and Chuchundra has fear. Rikki tikki shows courage in the way he stands up to the cobras,

with the bigger bullies so he stays clear and on the outside of

Anne Finch s Opposition to The Rape of the Lock Essay...
Anne Finch s Opposition to The Rape of the Lock
The Restoration Period (1660 1700) was a period of social, political and philosophical turmoil, which
laid the foundation for future centuries. This period was marked by an advance in colonization and
trade and by the birth of the Whig and Tory parties. In poetry, works of Alexander Pope and Anne
Finch and a number of other poets distinguishes the Restoration. But, there are several objections from
these poets; one particular opposition occurs between Pope s The Rape of the Lock and Anne Finch.
Pope was born into a Catholic family during a period of intense anti Catholic sentiment in England.
His family was forced to move because Catholics were forbid from living within a certain area ...

The events that Pope describes in this poem occur between Belinda, who is motivated by pride and
vanity and Baron, who is driven by ambition. Belinda s energy is driven to attract a man and pretend
to be affectionate and then cast him off for another. Baron oversteps his boundaries of acceptable
behavior by acting with force toward the desirable woman. The Rape of the Lock is both a scornful
description of a ridiculous social situation and a serious analysis of consequences of flattering self
esteem and desire. The Rape of the Lock is a staple of neoclassical writing; it includes wit and wit is
characterized by parallelism and balance. It contains epic conventions such as war (between the
sexes), epic game (played on the velvet plain of the card table), a journey (to the underworld), and
battle. Pope writes by describing the man as the hero. But Finch writes her poetry in regards to
women. When Anne Finch wrote, she followed a particularly intellectual course, not only for women
but also for anyone at the time. She wrote about philosophy; her philosophical work had another
important source: her own physical pain. She was concerned to provide theodicy for her writers. She
attempted to reunite the existence of a compassionate or benign god with the existence of suffering
and other evil in

Ingvar Kamprad vs Steve Jobs Essay
Ingvar Kamprad and Steve Jobs are two people that have set their footmark forever on this planet.
Ingvar Kamprad is founder of the great furniture empire, IKEA. Steve Jobs is best known as one of
the co founders of Apple, the most valuable company on earth. Both these business gurus are huge
role models of mine and have definitely changed my way of thinking in several ways.
Mr. Kamprad could be any 85 year old white man with his faded coat, tinted prescription glasses and
scuffed shoes; he looks like just another pensioner scraping by on a tight budget. Even though Steve
Jobs left us as a 65 year old, together with his famous black mock turtleneck, blue mom jeans and
cheap tennis shoes, they both shared a simple way of dressing. ... Show more content on

Steve dropped college after only one semester and started to take a few part time jobs. In 1975, he
worked for a video/computer company but suddenly decided for a 7 months trip to India in search of
spiritual enlightenment. He came back to the US and started to experiment with psychedelics and
according to a book, Steve called his LSD experiences one of the two or three most important things
done in my life. After experimenting, he went back to the video/computer company and worked there
once again. Steve and his computer friend Stephen Wozniak shared the same passion for computers
and after they assembled their first computer, Apple Computer Company was born. The company was
born in Steve´s garage 1976, and they continued to build several computers. People were hired,
upgrades to bigger facilities were made and salesmen went great. Four years after Apples birth the
company was worth $200 million. After a dispute between Steve and his employees, his own creation
fired him. In revenge he started another computer company called NeXT and also bought the famous
animation studio Pixar which he shaped from only being a simple dough to the most delightful pastry.
Unlike Pixar, NeXT went bad but so did Apple. Steve convinced Apple to buy NeXT in order to
compete with Microsoft and years after that he returned to Apple as a CEO and turned the company
into what it is today, the most valuable company in the world (Internet). On the

Essay on Integral Philosophy of Education
Integral Philosophy of Education
ABSTRACT: Education, an action, is a process, a development of the imperfect human being
intentionally directed at achieving the ideal of human plenitude in the best possible manner. This is a
description of the educational process based on the human being who travels toward plenitude, a point
of arrival; the human being who achieves his or her own perfection in the best possible manner; and a
method: intentional guidance towards plenitude in the harmonious formation of humanity. It is not
enough to say what education is or what it is like. It is necessary to clarify what education is for. The
harmonious development of essential, integral and vocational abilities makes the student more perfect

It is a method: intentionally guiding a human being towards the plenitude of the harmonious formation
of man. Personalized education does not exclude that which is essential common and equal in all
human beings; instead, it invigorates and justifies the individual himself or his individual personality.
Body and soul are susceptible to acquiring perfection and beauty, as Plato wished. This perfection
assumes there is a natural, progressive and systematic development of all of man s superior abilities.
Education is about preparing us for an integral life and for that which comes after our worldly
existence. For that reason, the organization of habits capable of adapting individuals to their physical
and social environment are so important. It would, however, be an error to limit us, as pragmatists do,
to the organization of habits and the adaptation of individuals to their circumstances. The formation of
men: as multi dimensional and harmonious human beings and not just as specialists is fundamental. In
this sense, education is the intentional perfection of uniquely human powers through systematic
activities exercised by teachers with learners.
The individual who receives education is an imperfect person capable of perfection. A person becomes
educated because he is able to be educated; because his ability to acquire education

Dan Brown Research Paper
There are many magnificent authors and writers in the world, and the United States was no stranger in
producing such authors. Throughout history, American literature has always had a lasting impact on
the world. One great American author who has gain respect and praise from multiple readers is Dan
Brown. He uses science, religion, and mystery to present his literary works in quite a unique way.
Other than his literary works, Dan Brown has also had a pretty interesting life, and critics have various
opinions of her work.
First off, Dan Brown was born in Exeter, New Hampshire to Richard G. Brown, a mathematics
teacher, and Connie Brown, a music professor. He was the eldest of three children and was raised as
an Episcopalian. Since young, Brown ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

people. For instance, the protagonist for many of his novels, Robert Langdon is named after John
Langdon. He was the artist who created the ambigrams used for the Angels Demons CD and novel.

Where Men Win Glory, Jon Krakauer
Glory. It is an honor that all men, even if they are not aware, strive for. The definition of glory is
different for everyone. To one, glory might mean graduating medical school; to another, it could mean
taking center stage in a play as the applause surrounds her. To Pat Tillman, glory was not defined as a
multimillion dollar NFL contract or millions of adoring fans. It meant following his upright inner
voice and fulfilling his civil obligations. In Where Men Win Glory by Jon Krakauer, Tillman rejects a
successful football career to join the Army after being deeply disturbed by the September 11, 2011,
terrorist attack. I never thought a book with so much war and politics could be so heart wrenching.
Although I did not like the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Krakauer has a straight to the point, concrete writing style. I tend to favor abstract writing with a great
deal of figurative language. I had a hard time finding trope, but My favorite simile in the book is on
page 96. It said, Like a super villain in a Marvel comic book, he seemed to be endowed with the
ability to absorb the mightiest blows his enemy could deliver, draw energy from them, and become
more powerful as a consequence. This quote is comparing Osama bin Laden to a villain in a comic
book because it seemed like no matter what attempts the U.S. made to take him down, he always came
back stronger. If there had been more similes like this, the book would ve been better. Also, Krakauer
s excessive use of acronyms left me feeling frustratingly confused. Nevertheless, not all is bad about
Krakauer s writing technique. I was pleasantly surprised to find that he included actual entries from
Pat Tillman s journal and statements from Tillman s friends and family. In doing so, Krakauer made
me easily connect and empathize with Pat Tillman and his loved ones. This made a powerful impact
on the book and reader.
Despite my previous explanation of what I did not like about the book, the list of what I did like is
more significant. I will admit that I am not an avid reader. For a book to successfully make me feel
heartbroken says a lot. I had never heard of the story of Pat Tillman, so

If Democracy Had A Birth Date
If democracy had a birth date, it would be June 15, 1215. On that fateful day, on the meadow called
Runnymede along the River Thames, English barons confronted a tyrannical King John to demand
that their list of grievances be addressed. In the 63 clauses of the esteemed Magna Carta, the barons
were largely concerned with protecting themselves from unjust taxes and defending their rights and
privileges. However, the Magna Carta accomplished so much more. It established for the first time the
principle that the king is not above the law. Also within the historical document are the core principles
the rule of law and the law of the land that have resonated with nations in search of freedom and
justice. In fact, nearly six centuries after King ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the first colonists arrived in Jamestown, West Virginia in 1607, they carried with them their hopes,
dreams, fears, and most importantly, the individual liberties and established rights that were their
birthright as Englishmen. By the 1600s, these colonists subjects of England had enjoyed political
freedoms, such as trial by jury, largely unheard of elsewhere in the world. The Magna Carta, signed
centuries before on the plains of Runnymede in 1215, had established the principle of limited
government. That meant that the power of the king was not absolute. According to the principles of
mercantilism, the colonies main function was to bolster the mother country, both economically and
politically. The American colonies were set up as a source of raw materials for England. They were
expected to export valuable commodities, such as cotton, lumber, tar, gold, and silver, among other
things. They were regarded as English subjects and possessions of the mother country. Over time, the
colonists, forced to straddle two worlds, both England and America, rebelled. Their primary source of
anger and frustration was that they were being severely taxed without having a voice in Parliament.
After the Sugar Act passed in 1765, Samuel Adams, who saw it as a violation of their birth rights and
liberties, won the support of the Massachusetts Assembly and declared: If taxes are laid upon us in any

Hall Of Justice Analysis
During the conversation between Joe and Louis in Act II, Scene 7, Joe explains that the day before, he
accidentally showed up for work at the Hall of Justice on a Sunday. Due to the fact that the Hall is
closed on Sundays, Joe arrived to discover a deserted courthouse and panicked, thinking, The whole
Hall of Justice, it s empty, it s deserted, it s gone out of business. Forever (Kushner 78). Although it
was deserted simply due to the fact that it was Sunday, the empty Hall of Justice symbolizes freedom.
Specifically, this can be seen when Joe states, It would be...heartless terror. Yes. Terrible, and...Very
great. To shed your skin, every old skin, one by one and then walk away, unencumbered, into the
morning (Kushner 78 79). This shows that an empty Hall of Justice would ... Show more content on

In turn, individuals would then have the freedom to determine their own beliefs regarding justice. This
can be seen when Joe states, I just wondered what a thing it would be...if overnight everything you
owe anything to, justice, or love, had really gone away. Free (Kushner 78), which again shows that an
empty Hall of Justice symbolizes freedom from both the Hall and the idea of justice itself. Aside from
this point in the play, the subject of justice had been brought up twice before. Immediately preceding
Joe s description of an empty Hall of Justice, in Act II, Scene 6, Joe had struggled with the concepts of
justice and ethics when contemplating accepting the job offer Roy had provided him with.
Specifically, Roy obtained the opportunity to join the Justice Department in Washington, D.C. in order
to help prevent Roy from becoming disbarred. Upon realizing this, Joe proclaims, Even if I said yes to
the job, it would be illegal to interfere. With the hearings. It s unethical. No. I can t (Kushner 73),
realizing that accepting the job opportunity would make him obligated to act unjustly according to the
law and ethics. In response, Roy argues, I must have eyes in

Memory Of Trauma
Another limitation that can appear when examining the memory of trauma is that trauma victims do
not elicit the same response to trauma. Individuals who experience psychological trauma, physical
trauma or both all remember the abuse differently. Many trauma victims may have repressed those
memories or simply forget the explicit details about their traumatic experiences. Toth and Cicchetti
(1998) argue that victims will elicit different responses of they are diagnosed with post traumatic
stress disorder (PTSD) and experience trauma on a single or multiple occurrence. Multiple
experiences of trauma may give individuals a general memory of the abuse, however, it often
overlooks and forget about the unique features of their traumatic experience.

A Good Relationship With My Father
The first time my father yelled at me I was six years old. I mean really raised his voice. My father had
never used that kind of a tone with me before so naturally I was equally surprised as scared. As I grew
older and connected events I realized my father had been upset, not because I was out of bed late at
night, but because my mother had been discussing their separation that night. Up until the age of six I
had an ideal relationship with my father, I suppose as normal as any other six year old child could
have with their parents. I won t try to argue that in order to have a good relationship with another
human you have to live in the same house as they do or even in the same state or country, but the
farther you are the more difficult it will be to obtain an ideal relationship or connection with that
person. A good relationship can be defined in multiple ways and each person has their own take on it. I
believe that to truly have a good, grounded, relationship with someone you need to be able to trust that
person, enjoy their company, and accept the person for who they are. In a genuine relationship two
people should be able to trust each other, to not have any doubt in the other person. Trust is the key
component to a healthy relationship and it provides a sense of safety which allows for higher levels of
intimacy (Colleen Ekback). Depending on who the other person is, may it be a parent, sibling, another
relative or a significant other, the doubtfulness will differ. It

Tom Robinson Character Analysis
In To Kill A Mockingbird the main conflict is the Tom Robinson case. Tom Robinson was accused of
beating and raping Mayella Violet Ewell. The people of Maycomb see Tom in two different ways.
There is the public view of Tom and the private view of him. The public view would include the
people of Maycomb who do not know Tom at a personal level, while the private view would be his
family, Calpurnia, and the other African Americans in the town of Maycomb. The public see Tom as a
dangerous man. For instance in the book it states I seen that black nigger yonder ruttin on my Mayella
(Lee 231)! Mayella even said that He got me round the neck, cussin me a sayin dirt I fought and
hollered, but he had me round the neck. He hit me agin a agin (Lee 241). Both Mayella and Bob Ewell
make the people in the court believe that Tom is some sort of killer or dangerous man who should be
lynched. Even Scout thought that Tom Robinson s powerful shoulders rippled under his thin shirt (Lee
248). Tom was very built, and that did not help his case. Before Tom even gave his testimony most
people in the court and jury believed he was guilty. Furthermore, The public view of Tom Robinson
also includes that he is an abusive man that takes advantage of woman. Such as when Mayella said I
got somethin to say a I ain t say no more. That nigger yonder took advantage of me (Lee 251). After
she said this, Tom became known as a person who would hurt women in an appalling way. Another
example is when Atticus says Miss Mayella, not to be tedious, you ve testified that the defendant hit
you, grabbed you around the neck, choked you, and took advantage of you (Lee 248). Mayella states
all of these facts in her testimony; making Tom look like a untrustworthy man. One part of her story
states that she went in the house to get him the nickel and turned around an fore she knew it he was on
her . (Lee 241) . Mayella makes the chance of Tom being innocent lower with her lies; Tom becomes a
monster to the public view. On the other hand to some he is as innocent as a mockingbird. These
people know the real Tom Robinson. They belive that Tom is a generous and a hardworking man. A
quotation in the story that supports this is

  • 2. Critical Review Of The Gunpowder Factory This critical review examines The former Gunpowder Factory in Dachau a concentration camp for Political Prisoners , Dachauer Volksblatt. 6th April 1933. This is a primary source in the form of a speech, directly from Heinrich Himmler himself during a press conference on the 20th March. This was first published in German, since it was aimed at the German citizens however it was later translated by Sally Winkle. This speech was given 2 months after Hitler became Chancellor of Germany, possibly showing he had the intention of getting rid of his hatred towards certain groups before he actually came into power. His opinions where clearly expressed in Mein Kampf where Hitler made his opinions somewhat clear on what he thought about inferior races. Dachau was said to be home to, in the words of Heinrich Himmler, Political prisoners , as well as all communist functionaries and the Reichsbanner (social democratic party, around during the Weimar Republic) and the Marxist functionaries. These where seen to be people who threatened the state. Hitler would have wanted to eliminate and threats to his rise to power, so sending them to a concentration camp seemed right. However, over time other selections of people where sent here, like Jehovah s witnesses, romas, homosexuals as well as asocial and repeat criminals. It was after the Kristallnacht that many Jews would arrive here. This information was retrieved from the USA holocaust memorial museum and has been deemed a reliable ... • 4. The Baroque Of Baroque Dance Baroque dance was a particularly important process in the evolution of ballet. There are many influences that are part of the process, such as the why baroque was created and the purpose that baroque dancing served in cultural context. There was an important shift in history that engaged people to want to move and it is an important subject to be studied. Baroque dance was quite different from the social dancing we experience today. There are different layers to baroque dance and different contributors that created a historical permanence in the ballet genre we learn today. This will be an in depth observation of the baroque era with several different subjects of the era s spectrum. Baroque, its definition and relation to politics and ... The king and queen would participate in minute dancing and it is as literal as it sounds. The king and queen would dance for a literal minute before the queen would dance with the princes and then the princes would move on to dance with the princesses all before then bowing to the king (Kassing 109 110). There was structure, strict structure at that, and all though this is a subtle structure to the baroque era, it is this structure that is related to the art of ballet we study today. Part of what made the baroque era a defined art was its intensity of aristocrat power, ...the Baroque approach was likely to exhibit some combination of power, massiveness, or dramatic intensity, embellished with pageantry, color, and theatrical adventure (Guisepi). Reflecting on these words, it makes sense why the ballet we train for today has a certain stoic technique. Ballet was conceived in a royal context. Yes, it was more clearly developed in later eras, but the baroque era was the seed of such intentional technique. Ballet has grown to be a very intense performance with a strict technique and it is still associated as one of the most important, if not the most important, genre to be taught. Especially since it is the base of many other dance techniques. Again, these social ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Morgan and Tyler The evolutionistic theory refers to the biological concept of progress and development. The theory states that organisms were meant to increase in complexity, and later on included cultural and social evolution by comparing primitive tribal groups to modern society, and studying how certain aspects in the tribal groups were repeated all over the continent. Edward B. Tylor and Lewis H. Morgan brought the term evolution to anthropology, which makes them crucial to the growth and improvement of anthropology. Morgan focused on building upon his theory of social evolution in which he made links between social and technological progress. He studied and emphasized the kinship relationships across various cultures and larger social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Edward Burnett Tylor was an Englishman who focused mainly on the development of religion but also studied human cultural development and Montesquieu s three stages of savagery, barbarism and civilization. He also looked at moral qualities by focusing and comparing primitive people to civilization. Even though Tylor did not do any ethnographical field work or trust information from colonies or missionaries, he went on holidays to warm climates due to his sickness, where he then learnt and participated in different cultures and societies. He believed that people should appreciate new places and the view of different cultures. Tylor expanded on Montesquieu s ideas and said the savagery time was the time when there was no technology or in other words, technology was considered as rocks or stone tools, and then he referred to barbarism as the time of agriculture and food production and finally, civilization which to him meant the invention of writing. Taylor also believed that civilization was a time of happiness and where moral qualities were built. Even though Tylor focused on aspects Morgan didn t in Montesquieu s theory, he was mostly interested by religion and the evolution of it. He studied the origin of the religion and thought the belief in spirits and god had to be a universal response to universal experiences such as death, dreams and reflected images and said these concepts would form a duality ... • 6. Crime And Crime Essay Before the twentieth century, explaining crime followed Darwin, and Lumbroso s idea that criminals were biologically inferior. But with the development of the industry and the urbanization of the late 1800s and 1900s, the Progressive movement arose, arguing that crime was a social product. It was not the individual and its biologically inferior traits that would cause him to commit crime, it is rather the environment that causes people to commit crime. That was the beginning of the Chicago School. Because Chicago witnessed a rapid social change due to industrialization and the sudden urbanization and mass population shift, it became the prime choice to study how social change impacted criminal conduct. Researchers at the University of Chicago believed that crime would be best understood by looking at neighborhood characteristics. Shaw and McKay (1929) were influenced by the Chicago School in that they asked the question does it make a difference if a child grows up in an inner city community affected by ethnic heterogeneity, poverty, and social mobility? The question led to shifting the focus of what causes crime from an individual perspective to a social, environmental perspective. Thus, when studying delinquency and crime, Shaw and McKay (1929) and Burgess (1967) argued that neighborhoods may be the contributing factors to crime and not the individual. Shaw and McKay (1929) hypothesized that delinquency would be higher in areas where social disorganization (i.e. where ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This was the longest economic depression in the history of the United States. Despite the positive outlook projected during Herbert Hoover s campaign in 1928, a large portion of the population, and even many economists did not see the signs of the crumbling economy. Surprisingly, the great depression emerged along with the positive economic policies of President Hoover, and the promise to eliminate poverty from the United States. • 17. Understanding The Terminology Of The Lgbt Community Definition Understanding the terminology of the LGBT community is often complicated. LGBT, which was once known as the gay community, is an acronym that describes different gender expression or identities. The acronym was created to be more inclusive and have more diverse groups. It allowed individuals of the LGBT community to fully express themselves in different ways. The first word of the acronym is lesbian. The word lesbian is defined as an individual who identifies as a women and who are physically and emotionally attracted to other women (Huegel, 2011). Growing up I was raised in a Christian home and learned very little about any other religion including other monotheistic religion. Judaism is the religion that I knew the least about and decided that the best possible way for me to learn more was to experience it. I had only ever heard of Judaism in a comical or historical way. I chose to go to a Synagogue to further my knowledge and experience Judaism first hand. I called ahead to Temple Sinai in Denver and arranged a time to visit with Rabbi Richard Rheins. It just so happened that a class from Red Rocks was also planning a visit and I was encouraged to join them as well. I was able to attend a special service on November 11th, Veterans Day. This service was very different than what I had expected. It was a Shabbat service that included a naming, an honoring of veterans, as well as two bat mitzvah announcements. I had to dress in business casual attire and received snacks and drinks at the end called nosh. It is a method: intentionally guiding a human being towards the plenitude of the harmonious formation of man. Personalized education does not exclude that which is essential common and equal in all human beings; instead, it invigorates and justifies the individual himself or his individual personality. Body and soul are susceptible to acquiring perfection and beauty, as Plato wished. This perfection assumes there is a natural, progressive and systematic development of all of man s superior abilities. Education is about preparing us for an integral life and for that which comes after our worldly existence. For that reason, the organization of habits capable of adapting individuals to their physical and social environment are so important. It would, however, be an error to limit us, as pragmatists do, to the organization of habits and the adaptation of individuals to their circumstances. The formation of men: as multi dimensional and harmonious human beings and not just as specialists is fundamental. In this sense, education is the intentional perfection of uniquely human powers through systematic activities exercised by teachers with learners. The individual who receives education is an imperfect person capable of perfection. A person becomes educated because he is able to be educated; because his ability to acquire education ... The people of Maycomb see Tom in two different ways. There is the public view of Tom and the private view of him. The public view would include the people of Maycomb who do not know Tom at a personal level, while the private view would be his family, Calpurnia, and the other African Americans in the town of Maycomb. Before Tom even gave his testimony most people in the court and jury believed he was guilty. Furthermore, The public view of Tom Robinson also includes that he is an abusive man that takes advantage of woman. Such as when Mayella said I got somethin to say a I ain t say no more. That nigger yonder took advantage of me (Lee 251). After she said this, Tom became known as a person who would hurt women in an appalling way.
