Business Relationship Between Germany And Germany
Germany is a close contact of American businesses. With millions of people driving BMWs and
Volkswagens in the United States, Americans are strongly connected to business relations with
Germany. Germany is in western/central Europe, the geographic region running along the Baltic coast
where it is sandy, with dunes and small hills. Germans do not use the standard American dollar; their
main currency is called a Euro. On the other side of the coast are forest ridges and many lakes of the
Mecklenburg lake plateau. Berlin, the capital of Germany, has less hills which is correlated more
civilians live there. Germany s climate is moderate and has no extended periods of cold or hot
weather. Northwest, and the coast along Germany, have a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The federal legislative power is in the Bundestag and the Bundesrat. The current president of Germany
is Frank Walter Steinmeier who is now 61 years old, and has been in office since March 19, 2017 as
reported by the CIA. Some of the most popular and current trends are Cologne s Anuga Food Fair and
Biotechnology. At the Anuga Food Fair David Martin states that insect meatballs are a current trend.
Germany is diligently developing its biotechnology industry. Biotechnology is the study of a multitude
of biological processes for industrial purposes, genetic mutations of micro organisms to produce
medications. The government has spent millions of dollars on infrastructure, fund research,
development, and recruitment of scientists. Germany has a plethora of business norms and trends
among businesses operations that differentiate from American institutions, including the fact that
working hours are very flexible for most careers in Germany. Under German labor law; employees
can work eight hours per day adding up to 48 hours per week on average. Saturday is generally
considered to be a normal work day. Like the United States, the permitted weekly working time totals
40 hours on average with a 5 day week. Like America, Germany s people work all day and night but
on average most work during the day time. In Germany, however they receive an average of 24 paid
vacation days. In Germany certain goods, such as

Khalil And Rebecca Case Study
Khalil and Rebecca attended Father Anthony Khoury s midnight Mass at Saint Matthew s Church, his
parish in East Stroudsburg. On the drive to the church, Khalil told Rebecca that he despised his work
at the Navy Department. It s tough working on a project that leads to destruction of human life, he
said. Rebecca didn t respond. At least, I have a job; one that pays more than I expected. He let the
subject drop. He didn t want to spoil this night of wonders. Now, however, as the incense swirled to
the heavens, Khalil prayed: God give me a sign that my work on this military effort is justified. As the
choir lifted their voices in praise of God s newborn son, Khalil begged the little Christ child: Bring me
peace of mind, oh Lord. As he consumed the Christ host, he beseeched the infant child: Assist me in
reconciling my values of justice with Rebecca s needs. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A continuous line of people queued up to thank their pastor and extend their Christmas wishes. The
parishioners chatted with Father Anthony until after one thirty A.M. Khalil and Rebecca waited in the
shadows inside the church until Father Anthony finally joined them. I m pleased you could come,
Father Anthony said in a soft voice that could have been Khalil s. In fact, except for the eight years
difference in their ages, they could have been twins, not in their facial appearances, but in their
mannerisms, movements, tone of voice, and quiet spirituality. Father Anthony took Rebecca by the
hand and drew her to him looking intently into her eyes, I ve been looking forward to meeting you for
a long time, he said almost under his breath, his head tilted slightly to the right, the same way Khalil
tilted his. Rebecca leaned closer to hear Father Anthony s words. I pray that the two of you will be

A Report On The Accounting Software
Created a report for Auditors that displays Accounts receivables from previous years that have been
paid off this year. Made phone calls to customers with past due invoices. Received access to Great
Plains accounting software.
2/25/15 Assisted the auditors in locating source documents that they were looking for and needed.
Most of the source documents were related to accounts payable. Specifically, they wanted to check the
employee reimbursement checks to ensure that they were being reported properly for both book and
tax purposes. For book purposes meals and entertainment are counted as a full expense but for tax
purpose only half of the expense is deductible. I got to learn a lot more about book tax differences
from the auditors, such ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A key factor of the lunch was communication, in which people were both talking business but at the
same time building a relationship by getting to know each other and talking about their past.
2/26/16 Created an excel workbook Deferred Revenue Balance 2016 that highlights deferred revenue.
The sheet was at first intended to assist the auditors in performing their job but it will be re used to
help validate that the company is properly recognizing deferred revenue when it is earned. The reason
for re using the spreadsheet is because the company has gotten more customers than usual, who wish
to pay in advance. This advanced payment creates a liability, that needs to be recognized properly. The
spreadsheet was created by creating a smartlist using Great plains that displays all information related
to Deferred Revenue. After creating the smartlist, the information was exported into an excel
spreadsheet Deferred Revenue Transactions , which was all that the auditors required. Then to re use
the workbook a new sheet Deferred Revenue Balance was added, which pulled information from the
first sheet through formulas. After creating the formulas on the second spreadsheet, any information
inputted into the first sheet was moved to the second sheet in a more organized and informative
display, which also displayed whether debits and credits were balanced. Now the workbook will be
updated on a monthly basis to ensure proper recognition of Deferred Revenue. To

All City Choir Essay
There s a bigger song emerging from the music wing this year, but even though the women s choir has
more than doubled from the 36 girls in the fall of 2012 to the 82 girls enrolled this fall, choir director
Elliot Kranz said that teaching that many girls at one time isn t any different than teaching any other
ensemble. There are just more girls. He said he believes there are a number of reasons for such an
increase in numbers in the group. One is because of the success of the women s choir in the past. The
All City Choir event including secondary students is also a reason students are motivated to to do
choir after seeing the CFHS choir perform. The two junior highs have very strong choir programs as
well, making it more likely for them to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Any time you add numbers, it makes it more difficult to sing in tune and sound like one voice. But we
work on this from day one in rehearsal, and hopefully our hard work pays off throughout the year. He
said he does not think that having so many girls will be any type of problem and hopes that the choir
will keep increasing every year. Junior Anna Stillman said she thinks it s awesome to have so many
girls in the choir and they are starting to sing very well as a group, although at times it is hard to have
a good balance of sound with so many voices at one time. It can be distracting at times. I love choir,
and when other people continue to talk while we are trying to sing and learn new pieces, it can be
distracting. But in the long run, Stillman also said she thinks that having more girls in choir will make
them better as a whole because they have a lot of strong upperclassmen singers and some very talented
sophomores with good voices coming to help them out. Stillman chose to take choir again this year
because, I ve always really enjoyed singing and did it in junior high for two years and decided to try it
again in the high school, and I m so happy I did. It s been so much fun, and Mr. Kranz is a great

Informative Speech On Fortnite
I m sure if you have never played fortnite you at least have heard about it before. But why is it so
addicting to play? Well, I m going to tell you all there is to know about fortnite. By the end of reading
this, you will know the basics of the game and how to play.
Fortnite is a multiplayer survival game. There are two different game modes in fortnite; battle royale
and save the world. Fortnite s battle royale mode is a 100 player game. You can either play solo, duos,
or squads. Solo is typically the most hard to win in due to the fact that you re on your own with no
teammates to help you out. The point of the game is to be the last man standing. You will start the
game in a blue flying bus, aka the battle bus. The bus will change its flight path each game ... Show

The map has 19 different location to land at. Once you decide where you want to land, you jump off
the battle bus and skydive to your location. Once you get at a certain height, you will either use a
glider or an umbrella to safely land to the ground. The most popular place to go is Tilted Towers.
Tilted Towers is where about 30% of the 100 people go. Many people have said that Tilted Towers
should be removed from the game because of the ridiculous amount of people go there. On the other
side, a lot of people love going there because it is full of action. As you play the game you will find
what is called loot . This is all the things that you can pick up and keep in your inventory. This
includes guns, ammo, explosives, and meds. The different meds in the game are bandages, medkits,
shield potions, and chug jugs. When the game first starts, you are given 100% health and no shield.
Finding shield potions and drinking them will make it harder for enemies to eliminate you. You could
think of shield as armour on a knight. If knights had no protective gear, they would be easier to fight.
You will continually lose shield as you are in fights. Once your shield goes away, you

Common Types of Resistance to Project Portfolio Management
Common types of resistance to project portfolio management Project portfolio management can
enable an organization to prune redundant or overlapping projects, use resources more effectively and
to keep closer watch on projects progress to ensure projects do not go over budget or overtime
(Solomon 2002:1). However, despite the technique s obvious advantages, it can meet with profound
resistance when it is implemented in practice. Turf wars are common at many organizations, in which
representatives of various departments jockey for scarce resources. Every department has its pet
projects that it may fear losing to overly rigorous scrutiny.
A member of one project may be angry if he or she perceives another project to be favored during the
portfolio management process, particularly if it is made up of members of a rival department. Portfolio
management means continually evaluating which projects can maximize value for the organization,
and there will inevitably be bruised feelings if a project is shuttled or reprioritized. Resistance in such
instances may take the form of open complaints, as members of the offended team going over the
heads of supervisors to upper level management to complain. Or resistance may take a more subtle
form, as workers complain behind the backs of managers about the members of the other projects they
believe have been given more favorable status. Passive resistance, or refusing to work without directly
challenging managers or complaining, can

Figurative Language In The Jilting Of Granny Weatherall
Everyone has heard of seeing your life flash before your eyes in the moments before you die, however
for old Granny Weatherall, her life trickles by like an unsteady stream that meanders back and forth
from the past to the present. In The Jilting of Granny Weatherall , the author uses imagery, the
character s inner dialogue, and figurative language to show stream of consciousness and how the
character feels emotions such as bitterness, wistfulness, and a little bit of desperation. The imagery
presented helps show that Granny believes herself to be an independent, hard working woman. She
proudly describes everything she has done to make herself succeed in life, from the hard labor of
maintaining land, to nursing and losing very few of patients, to raising her children, all of which she
did without the help of a man. She also seems bitter over the impermanence of her actions, saying that

While mostly inner dialogue of Granny s thoughts, she mentions that her child Lydia is strongly
independent, yet still values her opinion on raising children as well as her business sense, something
Granny is proud to provide. Some of Granny s inner dialogue is directed at a man named John, who
died when he was young. She accomplished a lot without him, and seems slightly bitter that she
cannot show him how well she did by herself. At some points in her inner dialogue, she becomes
confused as to what she is currently doing or who she is talking to, which also shows in the rambling,
stream of consciousness way of narration. In the last paragraph, she speaks to her children in her
mind, telling them to make sure none of the fruit they grow is wasted. She tells them it is bitter to lose
things, and to not let things go to waste from disuse. This is a comparison to how she feels about her
life, all she has lost, and the feelings of regret she has regarding good things she let

Is Haiti A Catastrophe
I believe that this event was a catastrophe. This is because the Hurricane not only affected several

replace damaged ones and are building environmental resilience. According to Chung Wha Hong, the
executive director of grassroots international, he said Haiti is experiencing direct impacts from climate
change. We are there for the long haul to advance those locally generated solutions, and help build a

How Does Climate Change Affect Agriculture
Will Climate Change Affect Agriculture?
Climate change otherwise known as global warming has been an ongoing issue for decades.
Beginning in the 19th century, climate change has increasingly affected Earth and its atmosphere.
Rising levels of carbon dioxide are warming the Earth s atmosphere, causing rising sea levels, melting
snow and ice, extreme fires and droughts, and intense rainfall and floods. Climate change has and will
continue to affect food production, availability of water, and can add to many health risks in humans
and animals. In fact, in an article by Justin Gillis titled, Scientists Warn of Perilous Climate Shift
Within Decades, Not Centuries he focuses on a paper written by a former NASA climate scientist,
James E. Hansen, explaining the effects of climate change on Earth today. Although many believe
Hansen s theories in the paper are quite far fetched, the author mentions, Despite any reservations they
might have about the new paper, virtually all climate scientists agree with Dr. Hansen s group that
society is not moving fast enough to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases, posing grave risks (Gillis).
Gillis validates the fact that climate change has been rapidly expanding throughout Earth and society
has not been able to reduce it fast enough. Many negative risks are being posed and will continue to
mount if the issue of climate change is not taken seriously. Although climate change negatively affects
nearly all aspects of Earth, it poses a big

PERSONAL HISTORY
The narrator in this story is a 1. Person narrator and the story is therefore told from the narrator s point
of view. An example of the first person narrative is already in the opening line: Yes I m from New
York I say shifting my drink to my other hand. This in medias res opening throws us right into the
story without telling when or where we are. It informs us that the narrator is from New York, and
indicates that she isn t there at the moment. The setting of this dialogue is probably a bar somewhere
in England, seeing that she has a drink, and that the one who answers her in the end has an accent that
reeks of Cambridge. Because the narrator is not in her hometown, the interior monologue following

They can t really be together very much, because of all the people trying to get them to go to functions
and debutant balls.
Another pattern in the family s behavior is all the moving. The great grandparents moved to NY from
Great Britain. Their son and daughter in law moves out of NYC and the narrator s parents had a baby
in a hospital in New York and raised it on the Upper West Side. Then they moved out of the city, and
later the narrator moves to NY.
Througout the story we hear about this elegant lifestyle with a state room and a carriage, tea served by
uniformed maids, elegant silk slip gowns. The narrator is the only one in the family that isn t living the
glamorous life in NY. She is living in a flat with cockroaches and a mattress on the floor. She is the
one who breaks the pattern by living a humble life. She is also the only one described as going to an
event with a date. We went to studio 54. She is the first one who isn t going to functions and has tea
served in the afternoon.
Therefore I think this story is mainly about concepts of time, and about the evolution of a family and a
city. We start off with this traditional, wealthy, British family who is welcomed to the new world with
a carriage and tea in a large room. Their child is wearing sailor s outfits from a gentlemen s outfitter
and there are fruit sellers and dairymaids in the streets every morning. They

Paper Towel Experiment
Abstract: The overall question that was trying to be answered during this experiment was: Which
paper towel brand is the strongest? Before completing the experiment, the hypothesis was that out of
Bounty, Brawny and Sparkle, Bounty would be the strongest paper towel. This was because on
reviews for paper towels Bounty was almost always rated five stars, while Brawny and Sparkles had
lower ratings. To test this experiment, the first steps were to fill a container with water, and lay a paper
towel in it. Next steps were to let the paper towel soak up the water for five minutes, and then take it
out of the water when the timer went off. Final steps were to stack quarters on the center of the paper

These steps would be repeated for all three paper towel brands. At the end of the experiment, the paper
towel that held the most quarters would be the strongest. Data for experiment still needed to give a
conclusion to project.
Introduction: Every paper towel brand claims to be the best, but which brand is actually the best? The
purpose of this experiment was to test the strength of multiple paper towel brands to see which was
the strongest. This information is useful to know because most people buy paper towels, and would
like to get their money s worth. Many websites that had reviews on paper towels had Bounty rated at a
five star. This leads many people to believe that Bounty is the best paper towel brand, but doing this

The Five Stages Of Team Development
At some point of our academic or professional history, we were required to work with our peers, we
know or barely know. This opportunity are great instrument to learn and expand our experience and
social circle. Initially it could be stressful, and time consuming, but if done well the result would be
extremely rewarding, it is called teamwork.
Insert teamwork definition
Why is teamwork essential?
Five Stages of Team Development
In 1965, a professor of psychology at the Ohio State University, Bruce Tuckman propose the five
stages of group development (Andersen Bolt, 2011, p. 161). Tuckman strongly suggest the norm order
for team to grow as one coordinated group.
Teamwork plays a fundamental role in providing a high quality service and achieving
accomplishments. Most teams usually go through five stages of development in order for them to
successfully meet their group s purpose. Here is the five stages of team development:
1. Forming stage is the first phase of team development. This is the period where the first impression
will initially form. The team begins as soon as they are created. The individuals will be formerly
introduced to their peers, they have to work with. Members would still be wary and cautious of their
surroundings. In addition, this is the stage where the members will determine, how they will organize
their approach in order to meet their desired goals.
2. Storming stage is the second phase of team development. This is when the conflict between the

Japan is an island nation in East Asia that is located in the Pacific Ocean. It has a total of 6, 852
islands that make up about ninety seven percent of Japan s land area. It is the world s tenth largest
population with 126 million people. The emperor ran the country until it was forced to surrender and
the United States assisted in the reform of the country. Currently, Japan is a democracy with a

A new constitution took affect in 1947; establishing a parliamentary system, with all adults eligible to

Okinawa, were returned by the United States (Infoplease). During this time, the Liberal Democratic
Party was formed (BBC). This party will govern the country, almost uninterruptedly, for the rest of the

Japan had an extraordinary postwar economic recovery and continued to grow through the 1970s and

Lost Generation
Jack Kerouac and Ernest Hemingway represent their inner state and feelings at the time they lived
through their novels. Ernest Hemingway corresponds to the Lost Generation of 1920 s and Jack
Kerouac corresponds to the Beat Generation of 1950 s. Both of these generations were after wars. It is
not coincidence, wars make people devastated and lost. People tried to overcome problems and pain
through literature and music. Writers put all their emotions on the paper, musicians wrote songs,
which described the hard time they had. These two generations produced the most talented writers of
our days. For us it seems that there was no big deal to write such openly, but if we try to go back to the

drunk often, as alcohol helped him to forget about problems for a little time. Once, Robert Cohn asked
him: Don t you ever get the feeling that all your life is going by and you re not taking advantage of it?
Do you realize that you ve lived nearly half the time you have to live already? and he answers, Yes,

On The Rainy River Literary Analysis
In Tim O Brien s short story, On the Rainy River, O Brien wrestles with ideas of social conformity in
the midst of a national crisis while struggling to find who he is and his place in a polarized era.
Written in the Vietnam War s aftermath, O Brien presents his struggles of defining himself as a young
draftee while discerning who he is as an adult long after. O Brien receives a draft notice and undergoes
an identity crisis regarding what part he will play in the war, but runs to Canada on an impulse,
arriving near the border. When he is about to cross, O Brien betrays his conscience and returns to his
hometown to answer his summons. Through the application of a historical lens, one can gather much
about the divided attitudes on the positions on war and the reflection of these feelings as the
polarization dies down in upon its publication. In the text s earliest stages, O Brien feebly muses on
the ideas formed from both his pre and post college life, demonstrating a socially unacceptable
unsureness brought forth from the desire to conform to both ideologies, which consumes him until he
reflects on it in the 1980s. Soon after the brief description of O Brien s ideas of moral behavior and
courage unfold, O Brien s novel jumps from his small town American life to a place where O Brien
first began to develop ideas separate from his parents ridged ideals: college. Falling alongside many
other students in the 60s, O Brien is exposed to the idea of the war being unfounded and begins to
tentatively form his ideas, taking a stand against the war . However, he does nothing radical...just
ringing a few doorbells for Gene McCarthy (O Brien 173). While aligning with the principles
associated with the movement in a tentative manner, O Brien makes the suggestion that these ideas
were a governing principle when dealing with the war s justification. However, he then echoes the
other side s rhetoric, stating he could not claim to be opposed to war as a matter of general principle
especially when it was needed to stop a true evil, for then he would ve willingly marched off to battle
(O Brien 175). Through the inclusion of these two contrasting ideas side by side in the novel, one can

The War Of Versailles Between The Allies And Germany
At the beginning of 1919 all eyes were turned towards Paris. The city was to become the main focal
point for the world s population. This was where the peace talks were to be held to draw a close to the
First World War, the war to end all wars. World leaders from 32 countries converged on Paris armed
with the demands for their countries reparation. The Big Three participants of the peace talks wanted
more than just reparation. For six months the world s most powerful and influential men met every
day arguing, then discussing, then arguing again. Deals were made, various treaties drawn up and new
countries and organisations were created, the decisions made between January and June 1919 were the
most important. This demonstration of power, debate and decision making had never been seen before
nor would it be seen ever again. The treaty was signed at the Palace of Versailles between the Allies
and Germany. The three most important politicians there were David Lloyd George representing Great
Britain, Georges Clemenceau for France and Woodrow Wilson, president of the United States of
America. The victors from World War One were in no mood to be charitable to the defeated nations

Background
The attempt to launch the biggest disruptive technological change in the hard drive industry in 1992,
was aimed to be reached according to Hewlard Packard (HP) by launching Kittyhawk smallest hard

financial support of a large high tech company. The aim was to create a product that is not the same as
competitors but instead revolutionary strategic insight was made by the commercial failure.

The marketing representative should collect insight on different industry needs that are relevant to
hard drives. This information would benefit management more in product development instead of
collecting information on a product that has attributed benefits the market has no need for.
First the marketing representative should validate market trends, then a cross functional team that
consists of different members with different roles should be assigned to project plan and present
production ideas to management. This division would be led under the Computer Product
Organization´s supervision to create a group with different perspectives. This is the equivalent of
eating like a bird and pooping like an elephant that Kawaski mentions. The team will consume ideas
within and share the outcome with management to make correct decisions. The market research
company was a weak link, as they did not provide them with insight that they didn t already know.
Hence why management might have gotten stuck in a visionary tunnel and not been able to adapt the
product to more use than just focusing on its size.

Mr. Friehling – a Future Auditing Case Study
David Friehling will quite possibly be a future case study in auditing textbooks and courses
throughout the United States. Mr. Friehling was the auditor for Bernard Madoff, who was recently
convicted of running the largest Ponzi scheme ever uncovered through his business, Bernard L.
Madoff Investment Securities, LLC (BMIS). Mr. Madoff claimed to actively oversee more than $65
billion in private investments (it was later revealed that roughly $823 million remained of the more
than $170 billion that went through his accounts over the years).(1) Mr. Friehling flagrantly and
purposely violated provisions of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Code of

None of this occurred. The final section, Standards of Reporting, requires the auditor to state when
Generally Accepted Accounting Principles have not been consistently observed. This also did not
occur.
The SEC probed Mr. Madoff s business on numerous occasions for sixteen years. Despite many
blatant warning signs, not once was there an investigation that uncovered the fraudulent auditing being
performed. Regarding the SEC, Madoff was quoted in a jailhouse interview as saying that it never
entered the SEC s mind that it was a Ponzi scheme, and also that he had too much credibility with
them and they dismissed the idea of a Ponzi scheme.(7)
The SEC contends that from 1991 through 2008 Mr. Friehling violated several different sections of the
Securities Act, Exchange Act, and Advisors Act. The SEC alleges Friehling was not aware of the
Ponzi scheme, but that he committed securities fraud by falsely representing he had performed
legitimate audits, falsely stating the audits were conducted in accordance with GAAS, falsely stating
that the financial statements were prepared under GAAP, and knowing that the audit reports were
distributed to customers.(8) The charges also include aiding and abetting investment adviser fraud and
filing false audit reports to the SEC. Mr. Friehling faces 105 years in prison if convicted of all charges.

When you want to have an amazing computer, but you can t choose which one is better? You went on
the internet and research on a blog or ask some people. One person say PC is better and the other is
say Apple Mac. In this compare and contrast paper; I will goes through and compare these of the
following topic that people having problem with this;
1. The price tag?
2. How does it handle intense gaming?
3. How it handle heavy load of photo editing?
4. How it does handle intense load of video editing?
5. Does the system can be upgrade in the near distance future?
The first to look at these machine is; how much it cost? To start with; a starter top notch PC rig can
start at $1,000. Also if you put very nice processor or graphic card, the more of the bill will add. Or
the base model for iMac is $1,500. There is no special graphic card or nice processor. If you want to
have faster processor the decent graphic card; you have to add another $500. The bill will be add to
$2,000. You can put the same amount of money on a PC and still have better compartments.
The second to look at the two of the machine is; does it handle intense gaming? Both of them can
handle it, but the part is very different. The Apple Mac still used the same graphic card since summer

Artificial Limbs
As technology has progressed exponentially, there have been lots of contributions made in the medical
world. One significant contribution is no other than the advancement of artificial limbs. Artificial
limbs augment the abilities of amputees and other patients with malformed body parts, lost due to
trauma and injuries, or never formed due to congenital defect complications. Currently, there are
approximately two million people living with limb loss just in the United States alone. Out of the two
million people suffering with limb losses, 82% of them are secondary to vascular diseases, 16% are
secondary to trauma related injuries, 11% are secondary to cancers, and the last 1% are due to
congenital deficiencies. With the help of prosthetics, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another important factor is due to technology advancements. As technology continues to improve,
lighter and more durable prosthetic limbs are becoming available. But this may not decrease the cost
of the limb base on how the economy works. The cost for artificial limbs varies depending on the parts
one needs and whether or not one has insurance. For patients with insurance, the out of pocket costs
should be around 10% 50%. The cost for artificial limbs also depends on the patient s amputation
level, condition and needs. If the patient has a higher level of needs then the insurance would be more
likely to pay for a higher percentage of cost or provide a better prosthetic limb to compensate the
needs. However, for patients without healthcare insurance, the cost of prosthetic limbs would increase
drastically. Normally, a basic prosthetic leg can be costed less $10,000, but a more advanced
prosthetic leg would cost up to $70,000 or more depending of the level of amputation and the type of
leg. Not only that artificial limbs are extremely expensive, the cost of a new limb can add up over a
lifetime as well. This is due to the lifespan of a prosthetic limb is often limited to 3 to 5 years.
Therefore, it means that the limb would need to replace every few years and cost for each new limb
are needed to pay for because they are not one time cost. With that being said, although Obamacare
has developed to help citizens with low incomes, better healthcare insurance need to be implemented
to accommodate the increasing needs of

A Short Note On Preventing Ventilator Associated Pneumonia
Subglottic Suctioning: Preventing Ventilator Associated Pneumonia
Ventilator Associated Pneumonia (VAP) is a hospital acquired infection which happens to patients
who are intubated. It costs the hospital and the patient money. It is a deadly disease that can be
prevented through the right type of interventions. Current practice generally depends on the hospital;
most hospitals use a VAP bundle. According to the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (2012) the
VAP bundle consists of; head of the bed elevation of at least 30 degrees, daily sedation from weaning,
readiness to extubate, Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) prophylaxis, stress ulcer prophylaxis, oral care
with chlorohexidine (How to Guide, 2012). This currently is the protocol at Gerald Champion
Regional Medical Center. However, adding subglottic secretion suctioning to this bundle has the
ability to improve patient outcomes
According to Seckel (2007) The American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN), the American
Thoracic Society (ATC) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend using
continuous subglottic suctioning to further decrease VAP (Seckel 2007). This is important because
subglottic secretions pool around the cuff of the endotracheal tube; oropharyngeal suctioning does not
reach to the subglottic space. A specialized endotracheal tube is needed which will allow suctioning of
these secretions. This kind of suctioning will prevent the patient from inhaling the secretions which

Critical Analysis Of Walt Whitman s Death Of Abraham Lincoln
In his essay Death of Abraham Lincoln , Walt Whitman recalls the first time he ever saw the future

Guideline 4: Avoid Mixed, of Double Messages
Leonora needs to mitigate criticizing Joshua on how his income doesn t cover the monthly expenses.
She should demonstrate that if she returned to work, the financial burden would be reduced.
Joshua s perspective on day care should be emphasized because it will produce an unnecessary
expense. Furthermore, a large part of their income would result in the consumption of day care.
Guideline 5: When You Can, Choose the Time and Place Carefully
Lenora and Joshua should set time aside to discuss their conflict instead of randomly arguing over the
same issues. By doing this, it gives each other time to put thoughts together instead of saying
something that they don t mean or is derogatory.
Guideline 6: Address a Specific Issue, Ask for a Specific Change, and Be Open to Compromise
Lenora needs to express her desire to go back to work because it will benefit both Christa and the
family. But at the same time, Lenora should consider the affect it will have on her when she goes back

to nurture Christa.

Social Media Has Changed The Expectations Of Social...
Today, the average person spends at least two hours a day on social media sites. Through social media,
texting, and online chatrooms, people can communicate with others that they would otherwise have no
contact with. For this topic, it is important to define what friendship really means. Some have argued
that a friend is someone they talk with; others say it s someone they ve shared an experience with. For
this essay, friendship will be defined as someone who is kept in constant contact with through and
outside of the internet. The majority of effects seen from technology are negative: from decreased in
person social interactions, to loss of identity, and ultimately the watering down of friendships. Social
media has changed the expectations of social relationships. While technology does allow users to stay
connected with family and friends from varying distances, technology s negative effects also make it
harder to maintain those relationships and have a lasting impact on how people will pursue their future
relationships.
With the rise of social media and other forms of online communication, people have the opportunity to
connect with old and new friends alike. However, this connection through technology has changed
how people view friendship. In his article Faux Friendships, William Deresiewicz discusses how much
the ideas of friendship have changed over time. He argues that ...friendship, for the ancients, was rare,

The Question of Being Essay
The Question of Being
Martin Heidegger attempts to answer the question of Being by appealing to the terminology and
methodology of Dasein, most commonly defined as existence. Dasein is not simply any kind of
existence, however, but an existence that is unique from all other existences in that it asks the question
of existence while existing in the existence itself. In other words, one must first understand Dasein in
order to understand Being because Dasein is a kind of being that is concerned about its very Being.
Contrary to the popular opinion that in order to truly and clearly comprehend any phenomenon, the
subject which interrogates must necessarily stand outside of the object of the interrogation, Being
cannot be understood ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By claiming that Dasein always understands itself in terms of its existence, in terms of its possibility
to be itself or not to be itself (54), an existentiell understanding of Dasein is to denote the existence of
Dasein as either realizing or ignoring its possibilities for being or not being; an existential
understanding of Dasein differs in that it neither realizes nor ignores its existences but inquires into its
existence, the being of Dasein, Being itself. It is an existential analysis of Dasein that will reveal
Dasein, and ultimately Being.
An existential analysis of Dasein reveals that Dasein tends to understand its own Being in terms of
that being to which it is essentially, continually, and most closely related the world (58). That is to say,
Dasein is to be found in its average everdayness because it is concealed in the same way that the
meaning of Being is concealed. Heidegger maintains that in using the common word is, we no longer
know what we mean. The subject object logic which we use every day conceals the true meaning of
what existence really is. Therefore, one must apply this reasoning to Dasein and find the essence of
Dasein in the average everydayness by stripping away all that is arbitrary and accidental in the world.
One unfolds the true form of average everydayness by identifying the world of Dasein, which is the
human world, or more precisely, the soul. Heidegger characterizes Being as the totality of beings. He

The Effects Of Prenatal Hormones On The Developing Fetus
Why some people are attracted to members of their own sex whereas others are attracted to members
of the opposite sex is no known cause or reason. There is belief to it possible contributing from
genetics, hormonal and the environmental influences. One study stated that there is a 50 percent
chance that if one identical twin is homosexual or bisexual, the other twin is too. Similar findings lead
that some researchers estimate that sexual orientation is 30 to 70 percent genetic (Mustanski, Chivers,
Bailey, 2002). Another research suggests that sexual orientation is impacted by a gene or genes found
on the X chromosome. Though genetic tendencies for homosexuality may be passed from mothers to
their children (Rahman Wilson, 2003). During human evolution, homosexuality was developed to
minimize competition between males for a limited number of potential female mates (Schulling,
2004). A different possibility is that prenatal hormone levels influence the developing fetus (Levay,
2011). According to the prenatal hormonal theory of homosexuality, some male fetuses are exposed to
too little testosterone. Similarly, some female fetuses are exposed to too much testosterone. These
differences, in turn, can impact sexual orientation (Mustanski, Chivers, Bailey, 2002). Regardless,
homosexuality is not caused by hormone imbalances in adulthood; the hormone levels of most gay
men and lesbians are within the normal range (Banks Gartrell, 1995). Hormonal imbalances

The definition of marriage varies according to different cultures, but when defined broadly, marriage
is considered to be an institution common to all human cultures. In terms of legal recognition, most
sovereign states limit marriage to male and female couples (two persons of opposite gender).
Nowadays a growing number of countries (about 15) have established a legal recognition for same sex
marriage. While few societies have recognized same sex unions as marriages there is a long history of

People marry for many reasons, including: legal, social, sexual, emotional, financial, spiritual and
religious, but marriages is primarily a social stabilizer because it creates the only association able to
move forward our social heritage. Families (association of individual: the entity) are one of the
fundamental keys to understand life. Why, would you say? Well, because without living a family life,
without children, spouse, companions, neighbours and associates, it is impossible to experience the
renunciation of self for the good of others (love: not sex). A family (cultural legacy) starts with the
association of man and women and not merely with the association of individual having the same sex,
because family have a cultural heritage not coming only from past generations but a legacy that can be
extended to following generations for the betterment of the whole. Two individuals of the same sex in
a relationship cannot transmit anything further from their union because they cannot naturally
procreate. The preservation of self, means the preservation of the individual, but when this
preservation of self exists in a community (group of individuals: the community: the state) the social
group must also assume it and is therefore obliged to create rules for the good and the sustaining of
itself: the whole. As a single individual you are temporary within a family, but the family and its

Due to research, psychologists have discovered the various causes that trigger this disorder. With the

According to Bjornlund (2011), ten to twenty years ago mental health professional started treating
patients for personality disorders, since it is harder to diagnose and treat. Each disorder had to be
approached differently according to a precise diagnosis. Health professionals used questionnaires and
interviews to diagnosis patients; however, often the results were incorrectly diagnosis. Some patients
do not get early treatment until the symptoms interfere with daily life or a relative encourages them to.
Some may seek treatment after court order, suicide attempt, anxiety, depression, or substance abuse.
Sometimes a precise diagnosis happens after being institutionalized or hospitalize for a long period of

Semiotics And Interactive Design Of Black And White Essay
Introduction
For my Annotated Research Kit, I have explored Black and White (colours), semiotics and interactive
design.
The first keyword I have explored is Black and White. This is an illustration style that I have up until
recently, been using in my studio work, and in my own personal practices as a graphic designer. Black
and White also fits in with the culture of today s younger generation, in which their taste of visual
style and graphic design preference fits in with my Black and White design style.
On a similar level, I used Black and White in an animation advertisement for the New Zealand Safe
Campaign. My intention of using a Black and White watercolour style was to make the animation
appear simple and appealing. I combined the idea of black and white with a watercolour visual style to
help bring about the sense of a natural and real animation story about the sad life of pig farming today.
The second keyword I have explored is semiotics. Semiotics improves everyday life by simplifying
matters and information through the interpretation of simple icons. Without this, people s everyday
life would be much difficult than today as we naturally learn faster and better through visuals and
imagery.
My last keyword is interactive design, which is something that is always around us. From the way we
interact with computers to apps from the Apple store to accessing the ATM and reading an online
eBook.
Ultimately, interactive design is about finding a solution to a

The characters of Viola and Olivia are used by Shakespeare to explore the position and rights of the
female in society, in comparison to their male counterparts. Viola especially is used to illustrate this
comparison. Stranded on the shores of Illyria, a land she does not know, with no means of support,
and no one to assist her, she devises a plan to dress as a man and seek employment with the Duke
Orsino. It is when she is dressed in her male attire, posing as the eunuch Cesario, that comparisons
between male and female independence are made.
Dressed as a man, the character Viola has freedom as a man that she could not possibly display when
she reverts to her female self in act 5 of the play. When dressed as Cesario, Viola is able to speak her
mind freely and speak to both Orsino and Olivia, both socially superior to Cesario (but not Viola) as
equals, without fear of repercussion, a privilege certainly not extended to women. An example of
Viola taking advantage of her male right to speak freely and without consequence appears in Act 2
Scene 5, when Orsino tells Cesario that men s love is more intense than women s:
Viola: Ay, But I know
Orsino: What dost thou know?
Viola: Too well what love women to men may owe:
In faith, they are as true of heart as we.
(II.iv 103 106)
As Cesario, Viola is able to argue with Orsino, a liberty

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Foreign Direct Investment...
Foreign direct investment FDI is an investment of a company from one country to another whereby
assets are acquired, operations are set up and joint ventures with local firms are made (Financial Times
, n.d.). FDI is a risky and more expensive method of venturing globally as compared to licensing and
exporting, however it does not stop companies from doing so due to its many advantages. FDI is one
of the key drivers in speeding up the development and economic growth in Malaysia. Sound
macroeconomic management, presence of a well functioning financial system and sustained economic
growth has made Malaysia an attractive country for FDI. Moreover, FDI plays a crucial role in
Malaysia economy as it generates economic growth by increasing capital formation through the
expansion of production capacity. Based on the statistic conducted by ... Show more content on

Foreign investors invest outside their country preferable in growing economies to large economies

A Brief Note On Robert Browning s Porphyria s Lover And...
Contributory Factors to the Murders in Robert Browning s Porphyria s Lover and The Laboratory. The
word love possesses such complexity and magnitude that people commonly have a hard time defining
it effectively without oversimplifying. Given the true intensity of feeling, jealousy is often said to be
synonymous with being in love and the real impact love can have on a person can be unpredictable.
Considering this, The Cambridge Dictionary defines a crime of passion as a crime committed because
of very strong emotional feelings, especially in connection with a sexual relationship. The poems
Porphyria s Lover and The Laboratory by Robert Browning, although significantly different,
essentially share the theme of love and jealousy. In both poems, readers are introduced to the darker
side of romance through male and female speakers so overwhelmed with emotion, they turn to murder
as a means of expression. Using dramatic monologue, Browning brilliantly explores the profound
effect love can have on its victims and the psychological elements leading to a crime of passion.
A dramatic monologue is defined as a form of monodrama in which the speaker addresses an assumed
listener or group of listeners (Kennedy 72). Although Browning mastered this genre during the
Victorian era, his poems were often greeted with misunderstanding and indifference (Simpson 1275).
Along with his work featuring grotesque rhymes and jaw breaking diction (Simpson 1275), he was

Sleep Patterns
NEONATAL SLEEP The neonatal or special care nursery environment is one of variable but constant
movement, light and noise. Such an environment is not conducive to the entrainment of good sleep
habits. Discuss the impact this environment has on preterm infants in terms of their
neuropsychological development and sleep patterns. Consider the longer term implications, and the
measures that can be taken to minimise or overcome these. By Nidhi Introduction In this topic we will
discuss how various levels of light, noise and constant movement in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive
Care Unit) ward environment have impact on the neuropsychological and sleep patterns of preterm
infants. Several previous studies have contended that the levels of light and ... Show more content on

Different authors looked at different variables as well as used their own methods in reducing light,
noise and movement. Comparing all of the studies, it was difficult to find any strong patterns or
consistencies between studies apart from the inclusion of light in more than one study. It is evident
that in this field, different researchers have analysed different variables and used different methods,
which makes it challenging to fully solve this problem in preterm infants. In terms of the overall
hypothesis, there is inconclusive evidence and not enough studies done in the area about the effect, if
any, of light and noise on the neuropsychological development and sleep patterns on preterm infants.
Despite the limited number of studies on the variable of movement, all researchers agreed that
movement (tactile/kinaesthetic stimulation) had positive effects on a range of developmental outcomes
of preterm infants. Ultimately, the fact that Physicians have complained about the detrimental impact
of unacceptable high levels of these variables in the environment of the NICU ward, and nothing has
been done to change it yet paints a very bleak picture for the neonatal preterm infants of the future.
Only two studies suggested new solutions for this ongoing problem, but yet again none of these have
been tried, tested or proven in real cases. The fact that there are barely any studies done on the
variable of constant movement makes problems in this field of research even more challenging to
solve, hence the need for further interest and research on the specific variables of constant movement,
light and noise if we are going to provide and create a healthier NICU environment and future for our

Policy Gaming For Strategy And Change Essay
Research Assignment 1
Summary: Policy Gaming for Strategy and Change
The following assignment is a summary of the article Policy Gaming for Strategy and Change that
was written by Geurts, Duke and Vermeulen in 2007. In the article, it can be read how companies can
use gaming simulations in order to analyse future scenarios and adapt certain strategies to their
complex organisational environment.
The article begins with an introduction about policy gaming, why it is becoming more useful for today
s organisations and the statement that the unstable environment of today is a risk to organisations
strategies, and that these risks would require coming up with innovative and creative solutions in order
to solve these issues.
It is stated, that there are two functions within a game policy that directly addresses this dilemma,
namely on one hand as a customised and interactive approach and on the other as an opportunity to
shape the own future, which can be explored and analysed, due to a mixture of role playing and
strategic simulation.
Further on, the article is divided into two parts. In the first part, the authors explain how exactly policy
gaming works, so how it is build up and how it is practiced. In the second part, the authors make a
step further and defining how powerful simulation gaming is actually by using examples, which show
the potential that simulation gaming has in real world cases. In the end, as the last part, they are giving
a conclusion and their own

Effects Of Autism On Children With Autism Spectrum Diseases
Autism Spectrum disorder is described as a disorder that will disable people for communication and
social interaction. They will have repetitive behaviors and also will have difficultly learning, reacting
to things or paying attention. If there is an early intervention of this disorder treatment can be
manageable. Scientist believe that genetic is the major cause of autism and there is a high chance of
children to get autism if their sibling is already suffering from autism. Autism was discovered around
60 years ago and since then it is considered as fascinating, puzzling and massively researched

Mr. Grudem s Argument Against Racism
I ve read this and been thinking about it. Here is my response to this the editorial. First of all, OF
COURSE Christians should try to influence elections... so should everyone else! My concern about
the focus is that so often it seems that the Christians Mr. Grudem is trying to influence try to tie their
political opinions, policy positions, and those whom they support with their religion. I very rarely see
this link as being positive; typically it is short sighted and replaces critical thinking of far sighted
potential ramifications of a policy to blind obedience to a faith based system of thought. That is not
healthy, and it is certainly not Christianity. So I agree with the principle, but I am reading something
sinister between the lines. Paranoia on my part? Possibly, but recent history of certain religious groups
selling out to a certain political party suggest otherwise.
His basis for voting for flawed candidate is, in fact, a good one in my opinion. Since all people are
flawed in many respects, then it is incumbent to look at the flaws and decide if one person may be
more beneficial to the life of a nation than the other flawed candidate. Honestly, who ... Show more

Grudem then cleverly dismisses some of Trump s accusations as... the printings of a hostile media! In
an incredible sleight of hand, he offers up his business conduct as a defense against racism (forget
about what he says... really?), being anti immigrant (hell, he has been in trouble for hiring illegal
immigrants in the past, and don t worry, walls solve everything anyway), and misogynistic (again,
Trump has expounded in great detail his contempt for women (at least those who stand against his
ideals), but don t listen, look at his business deals.) I think we should look at his business deals, but
when they show what we would expect to see from a person who is egotistical, bombastic, brash,
vindictive, and unfaithful, Mr. Grudem will simply do a little gymnastics and explain why this shouldn

The sheet was at first intended to assist the auditors in performing their job but it will be re used to help validate that the company is properly recognizing deferred revenue when it is earned. The reason for re using the spreadsheet is because the company has gotten more customers than usual, who wish to pay in advance. This advanced payment creates a liability, that needs to be recognized properly. The spreadsheet was created by creating a smartlist using Great plains that displays all information related to Deferred Revenue. After creating the smartlist, the information was exported into an excel spreadsheet Deferred Revenue Transactions , which was all that the auditors required. Then to re use the workbook a new sheet Deferred Revenue Balance was added, which pulled information from the first sheet through formulas. After creating the formulas on the second spreadsheet, any information inputted into the first sheet was moved to the second sheet in a more organized and informative display, which also displayed whether debits and credits were balanced. • 7. Common Types of Resistance to Project Portfolio Management Common types of resistance to project portfolio management Project portfolio management can enable an organization to prune redundant or overlapping projects, use resources more effectively and to keep closer watch on projects progress to ensure projects do not go over budget or overtime (Solomon 2002:1). However, despite the technique s obvious advantages, it can meet with profound resistance when it is implemented in practice. Turf wars are common at many organizations, in which representatives of various departments jockey for scarce resources. Every department has its pet projects that it may fear losing to overly rigorous scrutiny. A member of one project may be angry if he or she perceives another project to be favored during the portfolio management process, particularly if it is made up of members of a rival department. Portfolio management means continually evaluating which projects can maximize value for the organization, and there will inevitably be bruised feelings if a project is shuttled or reprioritized. Resistance in such instances may take the form of open complaints, as members of the offended team going over the heads of supervisors to upper level management to complain. Or resistance may take a more subtle form, as workers complain behind the backs of managers about the members of the other projects they believe have been given more favorable status. Passive resistance, or refusing to work without directly challenging managers or complaining, can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. How Does Climate Change Affect Agriculture Will Climate Change Affect Agriculture? Climate change otherwise known as global warming has been an ongoing issue for decades. Beginning in the 19th century, climate change has increasingly affected Earth and its atmosphere. Rising levels of carbon dioxide are warming the Earth s atmosphere, causing rising sea levels, melting snow and ice, extreme fires and droughts, and intense rainfall and floods. Climate change has and will continue to affect food production, availability of water, and can add to many health risks in humans and animals. In fact, in an article by Justin Gillis titled, Scientists Warn of Perilous Climate Shift Within Decades, Not Centuries he focuses on a paper written by a former NASA climate scientist, James E. Hansen, explaining the effects of climate change on Earth today. Although many believe Hansen s theories in the paper are quite far fetched, the author mentions, Despite any reservations they might have about the new paper, virtually all climate scientists agree with Dr. Hansen s group that society is not moving fast enough to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases, posing grave risks (Gillis). Gillis validates the fact that climate change has been rapidly expanding throughout Earth and society has not been able to reduce it fast enough. • 17. On The Rainy River Literary Analysis In Tim O Brien s short story, On the Rainy River, O Brien wrestles with ideas of social conformity in the midst of a national crisis while struggling to find who he is and his place in a polarized era. Written in the Vietnam War s aftermath, O Brien presents his struggles of defining himself as a young draftee while discerning who he is as an adult long after. O Brien receives a draft notice and undergoes an identity crisis regarding what part he will play in the war, but runs to Canada on an impulse, arriving near the border. When he is about to cross, O Brien betrays his conscience and returns to his hometown to answer his summons. Through the application of a historical lens, one can gather much about the divided attitudes on the positions on war and the reflection of these feelings as the polarization dies down in upon its publication. In the text s earliest stages, O Brien feebly muses on the ideas formed from both his pre and post college life, demonstrating a socially unacceptable unsureness brought forth from the desire to conform to both ideologies, which consumes him until he reflects on it in the 1980s. Soon after the brief description of O Brien s ideas of moral behavior and courage unfold, O Brien s novel jumps from his small town American life to a place where O Brien first began to develop ideas separate from his parents ridged ideals: college. Falling alongside many other students in the 60s, O Brien is exposed to the idea of the war being unfounded and begins to tentatively form his ideas, taking a stand against the war . However, he does nothing radical...just ringing a few doorbells for Gene McCarthy (O Brien 173). As technology continues to improve, lighter and more durable prosthetic limbs are becoming available. But this may not decrease the cost of the limb base on how the economy works. The cost for artificial limbs varies depending on the parts one needs and whether or not one has insurance. For patients with insurance, the out of pocket costs should be around 10% 50%. The cost for artificial limbs also depends on the patient s amputation level, condition and needs. If the patient has a higher level of needs then the insurance would be more likely to pay for a higher percentage of cost or provide a better prosthetic limb to compensate the needs. However, for patients without healthcare insurance, the cost of prosthetic limbs would increase drastically. Normally, a basic prosthetic leg can be costed less $10,000, but a more advanced prosthetic leg would cost up to $70,000 or more depending of the level of amputation and the type of leg. Not only that artificial limbs are extremely expensive, the cost of a new limb can add up over a lifetime as well. This is due to the lifespan of a prosthetic limb is often limited to 3 to 5 years. Therefore, it means that the limb would need to replace every few years and cost for each new limb are needed to pay for because they are not one time cost. • 24. A Short Note On Preventing Ventilator Associated Pneumonia Subglottic Suctioning: Preventing Ventilator Associated Pneumonia Ventilator Associated Pneumonia (VAP) is a hospital acquired infection which happens to patients who are intubated. It costs the hospital and the patient money. It is a deadly disease that can be prevented through the right type of interventions. Current practice generally depends on the hospital; most hospitals use a VAP bundle. According to the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (2012) the VAP bundle consists of; head of the bed elevation of at least 30 degrees, daily sedation from weaning, readiness to extubate, Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) prophylaxis, stress ulcer prophylaxis, oral care with chlorohexidine (How to Guide, 2012). This currently is the protocol at Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center. However, adding subglottic secretion suctioning to this bundle has the ability to improve patient outcomes According to Seckel (2007) The American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN), the American Thoracic Society (ATC) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend using continuous subglottic suctioning to further decrease VAP (Seckel 2007). This is important because subglottic secretions pool around the cuff of the endotracheal tube; oropharyngeal suctioning does not reach to the subglottic space. A specialized endotracheal tube is needed which will allow suctioning of these secretions. This kind of suctioning will prevent the patient from inhaling the secretions which can ... The Question of Being Essay The Question of Being Martin Heidegger attempts to answer the question of Being by appealing to the terminology and methodology of Dasein, most commonly defined as existence. Dasein is not simply any kind of existence, however, but an existence that is unique from all other existences in that it asks the question of existence while existing in the existence itself. In other words, one must first understand Dasein in order to understand Being because Dasein is a kind of being that is concerned about its very Being. Contrary to the popular opinion that in order to truly and clearly comprehend any phenomenon, the subject which interrogates must necessarily stand outside of the object of the interrogation, Being cannot be understood ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By claiming that Dasein always understands itself in terms of its existence, in terms of its possibility to be itself or not to be itself (54), an existentiell understanding of Dasein is to denote the existence of Dasein as either realizing or ignoring its possibilities for being or not being; an existential understanding of Dasein differs in that it neither realizes nor ignores its existences but inquires into its existence, the being of Dasein, Being itself. It is an existential analysis of Dasein that will reveal Dasein, and ultimately Being. An existential analysis of Dasein reveals that Dasein tends to understand its own Being in terms of that being to which it is essentially, continually, and most closely related the world (58). That is to say, Dasein is to be found in its average everdayness because it is concealed in the same way that the meaning of Being is concealed. Heidegger maintains that in using the common word is, we no longer know what we mean. The subject object logic which we use every day conceals the true meaning of what existence really is. Therefore, one must apply this reasoning to Dasein and find the essence of Dasein in the average everydayness by stripping away all that is arbitrary and accidental in the world. One unfolds the true form of average everydayness by identifying the world of Dasein, which is the human world, or more precisely, the soul. Heidegger characterizes Being as the totality of beings. There is belief to it possible contributing from genetics, hormonal and the environmental influences. One study stated that there is a 50 percent chance that if one identical twin is homosexual or bisexual, the other twin is too. Similar findings lead that some researchers estimate that sexual orientation is 30 to 70 percent genetic (Mustanski, Chivers, Bailey, 2002). Another research suggests that sexual orientation is impacted by a gene or genes found on the X chromosome. Though genetic tendencies for homosexuality may be passed from mothers to their children (Rahman Wilson, 2003). During human evolution, homosexuality was developed to minimize competition between males for a limited number of potential female mates (Schulling, 2004). A different possibility is that prenatal hormone levels influence the developing fetus (Levay, 2011). According to the prenatal hormonal theory of homosexuality, some male fetuses are exposed to too little testosterone. Similarly, some female fetuses are exposed to too much testosterone. These differences, in turn, can impact sexual orientation (Mustanski, Chivers, Bailey, 2002). Regardless, homosexuality is not caused by hormone imbalances in adulthood; the hormone levels of most gay men and lesbians are within the normal range (Banks Gartrell, 1995). Hormonal imbalances ... Well, because without living a family life, without children, spouse, companions, neighbours and associates, it is impossible to experience the renunciation of self for the good of others (love: not sex). A family (cultural legacy) starts with the association of man and women and not merely with the association of individual having the same sex, because family have a cultural heritage not coming only from past generations but a legacy that can be extended to following generations for the betterment of the whole. The first keyword I have explored is Black and White. This is an illustration style that I have up until recently, been using in my studio work, and in my own personal practices as a graphic designer. Black and White also fits in with the culture of today s younger generation, in which their taste of visual style and graphic design preference fits in with my Black and White design style. On a similar level, I used Black and White in an animation advertisement for the New Zealand Safe Campaign. My intention of using a Black and White watercolour style was to make the animation appear simple and appealing. I combined the idea of black and white with a watercolour visual style to help bring about the sense of a natural and real animation story about the sad life of pig farming today. Without this, people s everyday life would be much difficult than today as we naturally learn faster and better through visuals and imagery. It is when she is dressed in her male attire, posing as the eunuch Cesario, that comparisons between male and female independence are made. • 42. A Brief Note On Robert Browning s Porphyria s Lover And... Contributory Factors to the Murders in Robert Browning s Porphyria s Lover and The Laboratory. The word love possesses such complexity and magnitude that people commonly have a hard time defining it effectively without oversimplifying. Given the true intensity of feeling, jealousy is often said to be synonymous with being in love and the real impact love can have on a person can be unpredictable. Considering this, The Cambridge Dictionary defines a crime of passion as a crime committed because of very strong emotional feelings, especially in connection with a sexual relationship. The poems Porphyria s Lover and The Laboratory by Robert Browning, although significantly different, essentially share the theme of love and jealousy. In both poems, readers are introduced to the darker side of romance through male and female speakers so overwhelmed with emotion, they turn to murder as a means of expression. Using dramatic monologue, Browning brilliantly explores the profound effect love can have on its victims and the psychological elements leading to a crime of passion. A dramatic monologue is defined as a form of monodrama in which the speaker addresses an assumed listener or group of listeners (Kennedy 72). Different authors looked at different variables as well as used their own methods in reducing light, noise and movement. Comparing all of the studies, it was difficult to find any strong patterns or consistencies between studies apart from the inclusion of light in more than one study. It is evident that in this field, different researchers have analysed different variables and used different methods, which makes it challenging to fully solve this problem in preterm infants. In terms of the overall hypothesis, there is inconclusive evidence and not enough studies done in the area about the effect, if any, of light and noise on the neuropsychological development and sleep patterns on preterm infants. Despite the limited number of studies on the variable of movement, all researchers agreed that movement (tactile/kinaesthetic stimulation) had positive effects on a range of developmental outcomes of preterm infants. Ultimately, the fact that Physicians have complained about the detrimental impact of unacceptable high levels of these variables in the environment of the NICU ward, and nothing has been done to change it yet paints a very bleak picture for the neonatal preterm infants of the future. Only two studies suggested new solutions for this ongoing problem, but yet again none of these have been tried, tested or proven in real cases. The fact that there are barely any studies done on the variable of constant movement makes problems in this field of research even more challenging to solve, hence the need for further interest and research on the specific variables of constant movement, light and noise if we are going to provide and create a healthier NICU environment and future for our next ... I think we should look at his business deals, but when they show what we would expect to see from a person who is egotistical, bombastic, brash, vindictive, and unfaithful, Mr. Grudem will simply do a little gymnastics and explain why this shouldn t worry ...
