Current Marketing Plan Essay
Examination of Current Marketing Plan
The evaluation team made a mistake that I believe anyone could have made. The team focused on
their intended population in which they wanted to market preventative care for prostate exams,
and received all the information they needed to successfully make that happen. What I believe
went wrong is that the forgot to look at outside resources, influences and environments, these men
are in. The group could have considered what type of influences were put upon the men to go to
the doctors in the first place. Why is there is so little concer for prevention meseasures of prostate
cancer, but such high (88%) of doctors visits for advanced stage prostate cancer. I would keep the
same survey that was originally ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this case, men did not seem to think they had a problem until their wife s made/said they had a
problem. We should always look outside the box, inside the box, making sure we are addressing all
the influences of health behavior actions.
Evaluation Tools
I would perform a consumer survey to help determine what the intended popualtion knows about
prostate cancer. This survey would also be available to women to fill out, this is just one way to
help make sure that our intended population gets some of the important information on prostate
cancer. Performing a consumer survey either by using s computer or by handing them out, will
allow us to see what type of marketing needs to be done. What are the outlets that our populations
uses the most, what are we wasting our time on, how much money can we save. Another tool I
would use is the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) to help measure engagement.
After all the marketing tools have been implemented and the intended population has been reached,
I would use a surveillance system to help monitor various factors over an extended amount of time
(U.S. Department of Health and Human Services [HHS], Center for Disease Control and
Prevention [CDC] ,2011). These factors would be how many men are going to get their prostates
checked every fours years, who makes their appointments, how many prostate cancers screenings
come back negative or

VECTOR FUNCTIONS
VECTOR FUNCTIONS
Motion in Space: Velocity and Acceleration
In this section, we will learn about:
The motion of an object using tangent and normal vectors.
MOTION IN SPACE: VELOCITY AND ACCELERATION
Here, we show how the ideas of tangent and normal vectors and curvature can be
used in physics to study:
 The motion of an object, including its velocity and acceleration, along a space curve.
VELOCITY AND ACCELERATION
In particular, we follow in the footsteps of
Newton by using these methods to derive
Kepler s First Law of planetary motion.
VELOCITY
Suppose a particle moves through space so that its position vector at
time t is r(t).
VELOCITY
Vector 1
Notice from the figure ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
 So, C=i j+ k
VELOCITY ACCELERATION
Example 3
It follows: v(t) = 2t2 i + 3t2 j + t k + i j + k
= (2t2 + 1) i + (3t2 1) j + (t + 1) k
VELOCITY ACCELERATION
Example 3
Since v(t) = r (t), we have: r(t) = ∫ v(t) dt
= ∫ [(2t2 + 1) i + (3t2 1) j + (t + 1) k] dt = (в…”t3 + t) i + (t3 t) j + (В
Ѕt2 + t) k + D
VELOCITY ACCELERATION
Example 3
Putting t = 0, we find that D = r(0) = i.
So, the position at time t is given by: r(t) = (в…”t3 + t + 1) i + (t3 t) j + (ВЅt2 + t) k
VELOCITY ACCELERATION
The expression for r(t) that we obtained
in Example 3 was used to plot the path of the particle here for 0 ≤ t ≤ 3.
VELOCITY ACCELERATION
In general, vector integrals allow us to recover:
 Velocity, when acceleration is known
v(t )
v(t0 )
t t0
a(u ) du
 Position, when velocity is known
r (t ) r (t0 )
t t0
v(u ) du
VELOCITY ACCELERATION
If the force that acts on a particle is known, then the acceleration can be found from
Newton s Second Law of Motion.
VELOCITY ACCELERATION
The vector version of this law states that if,
at any time t, a force F(t) acts on an object of mass m producing an acceleration a(t),
then
F(t) = ma(t)
VELOCITY ACCELERATION

An object with mass m that moves in

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Discrete Wavelet Transform
Discrete Wavelet Transform DWT is a frequency based transform which is performed on
wavelets. It can be 1 D, 2 D and etc. It divides an image into four sub bands, namely пѓ LL (Low
resolution image) пѓ HL (Horizontal) пѓ LH (vertical) пѓ HH (diagonal) This division can be
performed up to many levels. It captures not only notion of frequency content but also temporal
content. Wavelets provide a mathematical way of encoding information in such a way that it is
layered according to level of detail. DWT is more computationally efficient than other
transformations because of its excellent localization properties. Wavelets are capable of complete
lossless reconstruction of image[6]. Advantages of DWT 1.No need to divide the input coding into

Three levels of rotations have been implemented. First the original watermarked image is being
rotated by 90o , then 180o and at last the image is being rotated by 270o in clock wise direction.
Gaussian noise On digital image Gaussian noise can be reduced using a spatial filter, though
when smoothing an image, an undesirable outcome may result in the blurring of fine scaled
image edges and details because they also correspond to blocked high frequencies. Image
compression Image compression may be lossy or lossless. Lossless compression is preferred for
archival purposes and often for medical imaging, technical drawings, clip art, or comics. Lossy
compression methods, especially when used at low bit rates, introduce compression artifacts.
Lossy methods are especially suitable for natural images such as photographs in applications.
Salt and pepper Noise Salt and pepper noise is an attack for which a certain amount of the pixels
in the image are either black or white (hence the name of the noise). Salt and pepper noise can be
used to model defects in the transmission of the image that a pixel is corrupted. Additive

My Community Importance
Community is a place where everyone should feel comfortable being in and acknowledge one
another s decisions and their presence. Coming from a well developed community in one of the
most developed cities in Nepal, our community still lacked of several moral values and
development. Kathmandu is the capital of Nepal and is one of the most developed cities throughout
the country , but still coming from a well developed community, our community still faced several
problems which lacked moral values and infrastructural developments within the community.
Although our communities lacked on certain things , people in our community were still able to
provide a good amount of resources to each community which was in need of any kind of help or
resources. My Community is very much important to me because it is a big part of my life and
my journey to where i am right now.The community that i live in plays a significant role in
shaping the way i am right now. I ve always had a passion in serving for my community because
everyone within my community has sacrificed something in order to do provide for each one of
us in our community. Fastforward to 2014, when Nepal s economy was in the best it could ever be
after several years , was when the governmentfinally decided to extend the roads and highways ,
which wasn t even a part of the five year plan that the government has every five years. Due to the

Faith In Hawthorne s Young Goodman Brown
Young Goodman Brown story was very interesting as it talked about God and Brown s faith.
When he went out in the forest in Salem Village, I believed everything that happened was
something conjured by evil but Brown put himself in that situation. That morning, his wife Faith
asked him for a hug and kiss, and tried to convince her husband Brown, not to go into the forest at
night. She whispered in his ear, Put off your journey until sunrise, and sleep in your own bed
tonight, (Brown 386). Faith was a Godly woman who always prayed for her and her husband. She
too had troubled dreams and thoughts. She was afraid of herself sometimes, especially of her
thoughts. Brown never knew about her doubtful thoughts. Brown didn t understand with it being...

Faith knew that she wasn t strong enough to go against the devil. She was all in doubt,
questioning her own faith, but just always tried/ wanted to stay strong for Brown. Once Brown
started seeing everybody else crossover including his wife Faith, he too begin to doubt his own
faith, and belief in God. Brown started to feel himself get weak, so he lifts his hands to pray.
When he started praying, a dark black cloud shifted northward and came along some confused
doubtful voices. A lot of voices was clouding Brown s mind but he stayed strong, and firm. He
didn t let nothing, or nobody get to him. He was very hurt by the fact of seeing his wife crossing
over to the devil side. Brown got back home and saw his wife sitting there with the same pink
ribbons in her head. He then too began to think that he was dreaming or if it was a true story or
not. As I stated at the beginning of my essay, everything that had happened was something
convinced by evil. The evil Travelers were trying to convince others to be of the Devil and not
God. Now he wonders why his neither Grandfather nor Father took that dark gloomy path, and
was always in the house before midnight. He also sees why his wife didn t want him to go on
that evil journey. Brown doesn t know what to believe, he doesn t know if his wife crossed over to
be with the devil or not. His mind is playing tricks on him. Since Brown is having those thoughts, he

Problem Solving Final Project Paper
Christine Crocker GS1140 Problem Solving Theory Dr. Tiera Coston 4/7/2012 In the greater
Baton Rouge area, there are 270 automotive and collision repair businesses. Within three miles
from Fisher s Automotive, where my husband Paul works, there are 40 shops that are providing
some of the same services as Fisher s. Of those 40, 26 perform collision repair. Before I started
school, I worked at Fisher s with Paul. I was a body technician and helped with some of the
office duties. Paul is still currently the head painter. The owner, Vic Fisher, has recently seen a
decline in business on the collision side. If the business is to remain open, which will allow Paul

Fisher s can also have a custom painted trailer with advertising on it for delivering and
transporting cars that have been restored. The trouble with this type of advertising will be
finding well known businesses willing to sponsor them and the cost of the ads. The other
concept that Fisher s can use is the retail and accessory market. Some of the different ways that it
can use this market would be by selling different types of products, for example, t shirts and hats.
Fisher s can design some one of a kind aftermarket kits for bumpers or hoods, or it can design its
own custom wheel with the new logo. The possibilities for the retail market can be almost
endless. The drawbacks to this type of market would be the product inventory, the shipping
process, and the product liability. With inventory, someone will be faced with inventory control
and taxes. Shipping would require someone responsible for boxing, labeling, and delivery. As
for product liability, the company may have to increase the amount of insurance should a
product fail and end up in a lawsuit. Choosing a combination of providing new services for boats
and RV s, introducing a new image, and implementing a new marketing strategy will work best
for Fisher s to get the competitive edge over its competition. Providing the new services to boats
and RV s will generate a higher profit because insurance companies have no set labor rate cost, so
Fisher s will be able to mandate what it feels is fair to working

Jim Carrey Impact On Depression
Comedians are not always the funny personality on stage or on screen. Such a case can be
observed with comedian and actor Jim Carrey. As well as many other comedians Jim Carrey
struggled with depression. According to a 2004 interview with CBS, Jim Carrey s parents
struggled with financial problems and the problems made him dislike human interaction at a young
age (2004). It was during this time Jim Carreyfelt angry with the world for making him live in
poverty. However, he told CBS that he developed his sense of humor by trying to make his
mother laugh when she was very sick (2004). When he eventually came to rise to fame, when
money was no longer an issue his mental health became one. Jim Carrey would use various ways to
cope with his depression and keep up with his mental health.
Jim Carrey s first occurrence of depression was his childhood. Based on what is known about his
life and the patterns of depression can be speculated. During his adolescence, he discussed the
troubles he faced alongside his parents about a life in poverty. Early signs of depression may have
been present during his childhood and left untreated. An article from the National Institute of
Health claims that depression during a person s childhood can lead to other mental disorders going
into adulthood (2012). That led to his depression in adulthood that made him grow a dependency on
Prozac.
The impact of Jim Carrey s depression can rarely be seen. Jim Carrey is often reclusive and has not
said much

The Selfish Gene Sparknotes
The Selfish Gene
The Selfish Gene is a novel written by Richard Dawkins where he explains his theory on the Selfish
Gene. The Selfish Gene is commonly misinterpreted and Dawkins uses this novel as his attempt to
clarify his thoughts on the Selfish Gene. The main themes presented in the book are Concepts of
altruistic and selfish behavior, Genetic definition of self interest, Evolution of aggressive behavior,
Kinship theory, Sex Ratio theory, Reciprocal altruism, Deceit and Natural selection of sex
differences. Many people question and or disagree with Dawkins views on the selfish gene but his
ideas on the subject are logical.
In the opening first chapter Dawkins carefully explains that the book is not is not a framework for
morality or a set of behavioral guidelines. What Dawkins argues, is that all animals are machines
created by our genes. Since it was possible for our genes to have survived over thousands of years
we expect certain qualities from them. The predominant quality, Dawkins believed, to be selfish. He
then goes on to explain that even ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He explains there is an important difference between child bearing and child caring. Child
bearing calls into consideration reproduction, whereas child caring calls into consideration if the
individual is worth caring for. Animals have a fixed number of offspring it can produce in its
lifetime and a fixed litter size and have the ability to regulate their birth rates. Dawkins poses the
question in this chapter is birth control altruistic or selfish? Altruistic as a practice for the good of
the group; or selfish, for the good of the individual reproducing? Dawkins tackles both theories,
considers the cost and benefits of bearing and caring, but ultimately the answer is a mix of both
theories, animals optimize their birth rates rather than restrict them for public

Symbols Of The Nobility And The Proletariat
Symbols of aristocratic authority in Miss Julie, facilitate societal discussion on ethically acceptable
behaviour as sexual, gender and class conflicts emerge through individuals having challenged
hierarchal structure despite having internalized distinct ideological frameworks. Strindberg utilizes
uncertainty and the reveling Midsummer atmosphere to justify aristocratic need for isolation in
order to maintain a guise of dominance. Julie s failure to embody submissive characteristics and
conform to social paradigms by alienating herself from the servitude, threatens the hierarchal
structure, using social structure to dictate ethical behaviour within society. Hence, Julie s death is
justified as necessary to reinstate social order through isolating and subjugating the proletariat.
Liberation and freedom are impossible to obtain due to the anxiety producing agency of the Count,
symbolizing the omnipresence of repressive Capitalist dictates due to the impact on psyche as a
product of nurture. Symbols of authority existing only to perpetuate elite authority are present in
Jean as he is socially alienated from the aristocracy, despite characteristically embodying the role.
The juxtaposition of symbols of the aristocracy and the proletariat are present when Jean [is] in
morning coat and bowler , symbolizing Jean s finer sensibilities and ability to apply these within
correct social environments. Additionally, he attempts to assert himself within the formal social

Taking a Look at the Bangladesh Genocides
The Bangladesh Genocides is remembered as the most concentrated genocide of the 20th century,
however it is an astonishing act of overlooking. In an attempt to crush forces seeking independence
for East Pakistan, the West Pakistani military regime unleashed an efficient campaign of mass
murder which aimed at killing millions of Bengalis, and succeeded in doing so.
For the bloodbath in March December 1971 when the Pakistani army executed a largely unarmed
Bengali population in the then vital part of Pakistan s state known as East Pakistan , in an effort to
suppress the region s demand for independence was at the time the biggest story in the world s
media.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Before 1971, Bangladesh was divided into two regions; both with opposing political power.
Although East Pakistan (Bangladesh) withheld the larger population between the two provinces, it
acquired much less political dominance than West Pakistan. Through the power and representation
of leader Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, East Pakistan rebelled. Rahman, leader of political party The
Awami League demanded more powers both politically and economically. This struggle finally
cumulated into the war of independence for East Pakistan.
CAUSE OF THE GENOCIDE
In the 1971 national elections, The Awami League, led by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, had a major
success, winning 160 seats as well as majority of the national assembly. Rahman demanded
independence for East Pakistan, as well as the right to form a government.

Animal Testing is Wrong! Essay
Picture yourself in a testing laboratory; needles, drugs, and knives pointed in your direction with
you having no idea what s going on around you, this is how animals everyday are treated, we have
to stop this now! Millions of animals are killed in laboratories everyday with no chance to object to
what the testers are about to do to them. Animals feel as much pain as humans do so why does it
make it okay to test on them when they are so alike to humans? Every day people test makeup,
shampoos, and medicines on animals, the strange thing is that animals have different skin, hair, and
internal organs than humans have. Since the animals have different internal organs than humans
only 5 25% of the testing results are agreeable between animals... Show more content on

Animals are denied rights for human unlikeness, but are tested on for human likeness. Human rights
don t rationalize animal experimentation; just because humans aren t giving animals rights it doesn
t mean that humans have the right to test helpless animals. Animals have families, feel pain, suffer,
and communicate just like humans do, so why don t animals get the same protection as humans? If
humans feel that testing on animals is nothing bad then why don t we put people under the
telescope and test on them instead? Animals have as much right to life as humans do! Don t judge
animals on how much hair on their bodies, but on their likeness to human life and procedures.
Animals are now used as objects of experiments to test a variety of products; like shampoo, makeup,
and medicines. Animals are almost always used in cancer research but animals never get the human
form of cancer which affects the lungs. Animals are not required in animal testing, but people seem
to ignore this statement and test on animals anyway. Testing cosmetics on animalsis somewhat
pointless because animals have different skin and hair than humans have. Animals are not even
required in animal testing at all; a makeup company can release an untested product at their own
risks. If any product says cruelty free on it, it doesn t necessarily mean that the products inside the
product were not tested on. Animals are used to test so many products now a days, animals are
used to test so many useless

Comparing Mr. Smith Goes To Washington And Wag The Dog
This paper will discuss how two films, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington and Wag the Dog relate to
the American political system. The movie Wag the Dog has more of a conspiracy theory view
to it, and sort of a Hollywood representation of what could happen in our government. While the
movie Mr. Smith Goes to Washington has more of a historical view to show the goings on in the
Senate, ways to have a bill passed, and the kind of control some Senators can have. Neither of
these movies are historically based, but they are typically how some people would view the
government. They both provide an insight on what could be going on behind the closed doors
of our government. In the movie Wag the Dog, the President is accused of having inappropriate
contact with one of the Firefly Girls. This happens just weeks before Election Day. One of the
President s advisors, Conrad Brean, decides to hire a Hollywood producer, Stanley Motss, to
create a distraction to get the people s minds off of the alleged misconduct of the President. They
decided to distract them by making it look like America was going to war with Albania. They
come up with a video of a girl that is running away from explosions, stating that this girl is now an

Example Of Harkness Discussion
Harkness Thoughts? Overall, I felt that we could have done much better in our Harkness
discussion. One main problem I felt with this type of discussion is that there are so many people.
In the socratic, having small groups allows everyone to be able to contribute and be involved in
the discussion. Having 10 15 people and just one really broad question doesn t cut it. I feel like
there could have been either smaller groups or multiple questions within one group. Like 10

Pathetic Fallacy Play Analysis
CALCULATING DESTINY is an ambitious script that combines various story genres including a
psychological supernatural story, as well as a sci fi tale combined with an action thriller. At the
heart of the story is a man caught in the middle of a major conspiracy.
There are themes about destiny, free will, and the universal theme of good versus evil.
While the plot tries to tell a compelling tale with many intriguing ideas, unfortunately, the
combination of the various genres, several plotlines, and the series of events make for a convoluted,
and often, challenging plotline to follow.

Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) might be an appropriate alternative treatment Because of
its simplicity, Single TMS pulses have been used as the noninvasive and painless method for
stimulating the brain of intact conscious human subjects through the scalp [4]. Repeated

excitability of the corticospinal tract, M1, and spinal cordstructures, significantly improving the
sensory and motor function in the patients with motor disorders [5].

According to the results of this study, latency and MNCV were more enhanced in the experimental

According to another study, rTMS could reduce motor improvement in SCI. It is possible that
motor score improvement and amelioration of spasticity with rTMS in SCI can be induced through
enhancement of descending corticospinal projection and reduction in corticospinal inhibition [11].
Using a sample of 17 SCI AIS D level patients, Benito et al. [12] applied 20 Hz high frequency

The Media Coverage Of Oscar Pistorius Case
Essay (CRM 1410)
The media coverage of Oscar Pistorius case
The theory that I will discuss for my essay is called psychological positivism. Psychological
positivism is a theory, which suggest that there is criminal personality that resides in the minds of
the criminals. The theory was designed by Austrian neurologist called Sigmund Freud. He believed
that some people committed crime due to certain internal factors that one had little or no control
over. These internal factors can be formed due to lack of parental love or it can also be formed if
an individual has suffered a tragedy in the past which can lead to an individual committing
crime. Sigmund Feud also believed that there are more than one aspects to human personality.
These aspects are id, ego and superego which developed over time in different stages in one s
life. The first thing that is developed in human personality is the id. It is a biological component
of the personality, which include human s basics. The id is our most primitive need gratification
impulses. The second interacting force that is developed in our nature is called superego, which
exist in all three of our consciousness. Superego is the higher power of our mind that is
concerned with what is socially acceptable. The third and the last aspect of our personality is
called ego which only exist in conscious and preconscious minds. The ego feature of our

The Beautiful Chain of Islands Called the Bahamas
The Bahamas
The Bahamas is a chain of amazing islands, full of palm trees and beautiful beaches and shores. It
is located in the North Atlantic Ocean. Its neighbors are Florida from the southeast and Cuba from
the northeast.
Strolling on that clear blue water along with some of the Bahamas s 377,544 people, would be an
amazing experience. Just smelling the fresh air would make you forget all your troubles, and relax.
Just a long, flat coral and some low rounded hills all in one place including the breathtaking
beaches. Almost all Bahamians have the same religion. 92% of The Bahamians are Christians.
Some other religions Bahamians have are Baptists, Anglican, Roman Catholic, Methodist, Church
of God, other Protestant. Some Bahamians have no religion and there is a small amount of other
religions. The largest Protestant religious groups are Baptist and Anglican. Obeah is an African
system of belief in spirits that often is superimposed on Christianity. When it comes to religions,
Bahamians take it seriously with their full schedule. Sunday is a day for church going and prayer.
People dress up in their best clothes to attend religious services. Families in the Bahamas could not
be any better, they care for each other and rely on the same religion given by the oldest member of
the family. Middle class Bahamian families usually employ a maid. But families that don t afford a
maid or a household helper share the housework. Although the success of the tourism has improved

Mr Palmer Ischaemic Stroke Case Study Nursing
Mrs Alice Palmer is 54 years old, female and has had hypertension for years but does not take
medication for it. Ischaemic strokes are usually caused by blood clots that form and block vessels
to the bloodstream resulting in tissue in the brain dying. (Stroke Foundation Australia, 2016).
Compared to another 54 year old woman who doesn t have hypertension, Mrs Palmer s risk of a
stroke is higher due to the hypertension. Age is another factor that contributes to the risk of
having a stroke especially an ischaemic stroke, as the older you get the more chance of having a
stroke increases (Stroke Foundation Australia, 2016). Gender is said to be a risk factor as well,
men have a more increased chance of having a stroke. Another factor to be... Show more content on

Cardiovascular assessment will be needed because of Mrs Palmers history of hypertension and
also to assess the blood flow around her body. The nurse will need to conduct a pain assessment

will be used to ensure her bilateral visual field deficits don t decrease and also to ensure all parts
of the brain are functioning since she is having difficulty remembering recent information and
has to be prompted to remember. Glasgow coma scale assessment will need to be conducted
regularly to ensure that there isn t a decrease in her visual, verbal and motor skills. Finally, a
musculoskeletal assessment must be taken as she has left hemiparesis and to ensure that does not

pressure is high but that is normal for her because she has had hypertension for years. Her resting
heart rate is high but still in the normal range, this differs from a normal 54 year old woman s

Why Are Paramedics Important To Society Today
In my personal opinion paramedics are very important to society today. People s lives depend on
quick and immediate care of EMTs and paramedics (Ch. 15 PowerPoint, slide 3). Paramedics are
called out to a range of different incidents. It could be someone who has fallen from scaffolding or
an elderly person with a suspected stroke (Paramedic).
Paramedics work closely with doctors and nurses in hospital s emergency departments, briefing
them as their patient arrives at hospital (Paramedic). For example, if a patient has a heart
problem, they can receive fast transportation to a healthcare facility (Ch. 15 PowerPoint, slide 3).
There is a program called race used when patients are having heart problems (Kerry Slate,
Personal conversation, July 13, 2015). This means that the first EKG is ran by the paramedics and
sent straight to the emergency department s physician. By the physician getting this type of
information he can decide the diagnoses right away and prepare cath labs if necessary. This is why
the existence of paramedics are so important. If the arteries are opened within the first ninety
minutes there is a greater chance for no heart damage. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Paramedics help to ensure that the patient is treated immediately for the type of stroke they are
having. The patient needs to receive blood thinners within a two hour of beginning the stroke
(Kerry Slate, Personal conversation, July 13, 2015). If patients can get the stroke treated in less
than two hours then they have a greater chance for little to no brain damage. Paramedics help this
process go a little quicker. They can have vital signs and other things done before the patient even
gets to the hospital. Also, by transporting the patient to care facilities faster allows more time for
them to be

Composite Faces Vs Face

on top of each other to make one image. What affects how attractive people are? Studies from
multiple scientists all other the world found that maturity, symmetry, averageness, and healthy skin,
are multiple characteristics that make a face more attractive. Maturity does a great deal for a
person s attractiveness. Maturity is how old one looks or is. In order to evoke the nurturing
instinct in adults, infants have become more attractive through evolution. Studies say that the ages

Michelangelo s David and Gian Lorenzo Bernini David There are not many artists in the world of
sculptors that can compare or surpass the work of these two artists. The comparison that I will
make is between two different artists who happened to create a marble statue of the biblical David
but did it differently and during different eras of art. Michelangelo created his seventeen feet,
standing nude male statue of David first during the renaissance era between the year 1501 and 1504
in the 16th century while Gian Lorenzo Bernini did it later in 1624 using the baroque style which
was the artistic style of the 17th century (Coughlan, 18). The artwork of these two artists goes a
long way in defining the state of art culturally and stylistically its significance during the
particular periods they created their respective statues of David. Having seen both sculptures it is
safe to stylistically analyze that Michelangelo and the renaissance masters concentrated more on
the rules of geometry design because looking at his statue of David everything about the statue
is idealized in the sense that his sculpture s size is not the normal size of a human being. He
basically used the rules of geometry and symmetry to build a big body block and decorated it with
the details of a figure that served his architecture. His methods allowed him to recreate every part
of the figure

Michael Chekhov Research Paper
Michael Chekhov is a Russian born and raised actor, director, and playwright. He was the nephew
of Russian playwright Anton Chekhov, one of the greatest short fiction writers in history. At the
age of 20 Michael Chekhov auditioned to work under Stanislavsky and joined the First Studio of
the Moscow Art Theatre. There he worked with and was influenced by Stanislavsky, Leopold
Sulerzhitsky, and Yevgeny Vakhtangov, to name a few. Stanislavsky referred to Chekhov as his
most brilliant student and when the First Studio became the Second, he invited Chekhov to join
him there as its director. The work that came out of Chekhov and his peers, according to Michael

According to the acting school stop website, Chekhov s views on the job of the actor was not to
imitate life, but rather to interpret it, to bring out its hidden meaning to the audience. For this, they
must be able to act with ease, bring form and beauty to their creative expressions, and see the big
picture so they can convey it in their performance, (Michael). This site goes on to discuss the things
that his Method consists of. Discussed first is the idea of allowing the body to be trained to be
receptive so that it can convey the inner life and emotions of a character to the audience. Chekhov
thought that method acting was very unhealthy for the actor and stunted creativity and inspiration
for a character. He instead wanted actors to get into the mindset of the character and learn to
understand why they do what they do through analysis. He encouraged students to go into the world
and watch real people interacting with each other and with the world around them to draw
inspiration for themselves. His method consists of a lot of inner analysis, meaning using your brain
and your own creativity and imagination to explore the characters reality. It also suggests that an
actor should learn to imagine their environment and its atmosphere/ conditions to better understand
the physicalizations of the character. For example, if its cold outside, or

The Role Of Male And Female Roles In Society
In general, the male and female roles in society at that time were very different. Ultimately, the
males were the ones with the most power. Thus, they seemed to think they knew what is best for
the lady s. Still, she is suffering from depression and went to two different doctors. My brother is
also a physician, and also of high standing, and he says the same thing (). John is a highly looked
upon physician, he tries to make life choices for her that he knows what is best for her, but does
he really? Power was everything to men it made them who they were. Therefore, if they didn t
have power, they were viewed as weak and unsuccessful in life.
In addition, the female role was very different from the male role. Moreover, women were seen as
very dependent on the male. The male made the choices and the female did whatever they are
told. Therefore, they were more likely to stay at home and tend to house work while their husband
was away at work. Sadly, they didn t seem to get much of a social life. Ultimately, if they wanted
to go somewhere they had to ask permission of the man, but if the man was not around they would
do what they wanted to. Ironically, the women would tend to hide things from the men because
they would disapprove of their choices. Unfortunately, it was a period of time in which women
didn t have much power and were forced to live under a rock. Furthermore, the men wanted them to
be blind to the truth, so they couldn t over power them.

Freshman Year In High School
Your freshman year will be exciting, but it can also be intimidating. It is the start of four long
years of high school, some of the most important years of your life. There are a lot of important
things to do your freshman year, many of which I didn t start until much later. So here is some
advice that will help you survive your freshman year, and prepare you for the rest of high school.
Join a sports team or club High school is the time to try new things and discover what you enjoy
doing. Joining a sports team or a club is a great way to find your interest and to meet others with
that same interest. Freshman year is the time to join that sport you ve been wanting to try or that
club that caught your interest during the club fair because you can always leave a team or a club,
but you can never regain time for one you did not join soon enough.
The hallways are for walking There are only 4 minutes for everyone to get from one class to the
next; so please, please do clog the hallway. That includes, but is not limited to, going up the stairs
on the left side or walking on the left side of the hall, walking in a big enough group to span the
width of the hall, closing one of the doors in the hallway or neglecting to open one, or just walking
at an annoyingly slow pace.
Remember to sleep It might not seem like it, but getting the proper amount of sleep is one of the
most important things you can do to keep your mind in shape during the school year.

Roaring 20 s Fashion Analysis
The power of fashion is underestimated by many. I, myself was one of those many. Up until my
middle school art instructor, Ms.Jose introduced me to the fashion world. One day as I worked

Roaring 20 s was a newcomer to my historical knowledge. Curious to understand what Ms.Jose
was referring to and where I had to get my inspiration from, I researched the history behind this

I had always felt like fashion, was nothing more than wearing expensive and nice clothes.
However, after working on this project I realized that fashion is about empowerment. The
Roaring 20 s was a perfect example of that. Fashion empowered women to explore their sexuality
and stand up for what they believed in, despite society s standards on how women were
supposed to behave. You can take fashion in many different directions, and inspire positive
changes that s why I want to be a Fashion Designer. I am the perfect candidate for FIT, because I

A Study On Eating Pathology Among Latinas Essay
THEORETICAL PROPOSITIONS There is a lack of studies that investigate the eating pathology
among Latinas even though there is evidence that a binge eating component (i.e. binge eating
disorder, bulimia nervosa) is more prevalent among Latinas compared with other races. For those
who are engaged in binge eating tend to have unrealistic high expectations for themselves, which
often are difficult to achieve. When the individual, in this case a Latina, has fallen short of these
high expectations, they experience negative affect from which she is motivated to binge eat. Dr.
Neyland proposed that stressful experiences across three domains of interest: individual, family, and
environment. The independent variable of acculturative stress (individual level) is defined as the
stress and reduction in health status that one experiences while going under the process of adapting
to a different culture. Then for family, there is family disconnection, which is not unique to Latinas
but there is a strong emphasis that Latinas place on family relationships. They value it so much that
if they experience family disconnection, they would likely be experienced as failure to meet
cultural standards. And lastly, there is the environmental factor which is discrimination. Among
Latina/os, there is a large amount of reports of discrimination which is believed to have impacted
many to have lower self esteem and a significantly slower growth in self esteem over time. Neyland

evolving rapidly over weeks to a few months with progressive ataxia of gait, limbs and trunk,

Brain FDG PET scan and SPECT may show cerebellar hypermetabolism and increased perfusion

Tr (PCA Tr) and anti mGluR1 are associated with relatively pure cerebellar syndromes. Anti Yo
antibodies point at breast, ovarian, endometrium and fallopian tube cancers[70]. Rarely, anti Yo
associated PCD occurs in male patients, usually associated with a gastrointestinal

specific for Hodgkin s disease(Bernal et al. 2003) and anti mGluR1 antibodies have been found in
two patients with PCD and Hodgkin s disease(Sillevis Smitt et al. 2000). About 50% of PCD

Mary Warren, a young woman living in Massachusetts during the Salem witch trials, shows no

The sudden change in Mary s opinion of both the girls and John Proctor, exhibits her apparent
inability to stand firm against the manipulative powers of Abigail. While this trait could seem
negative, passed off as fickle, Mary was able to keep her true identity a mystery to Salem.
Through turning against John, Mary deceived not only him, but indirectly Abigail too. After
Mary had sided with Abigail and the other girls, she accused John of personifying . . . the devil s
man (524), meaning a wizard. Previously, Abigail and John Proctor were involved, a relationship
in which Mary knew of. By accusing John of wizardry, Mary hurt the only person in Salem
Abigail had strong, positive feelings towards, likely knowing the consequences of her accusation.
While the accusation of John could have been simply the opportunity of the moment, it is likely
Mary used her personal knowledge of Abigail to get revenge after being accused of witchcraft. A
facade of innocence allowed Mary to deceive those around her, often without their knowledge.
Along with giving the impression of manipulability, Mary shows apparent genuine concern for
those who appear to control her. When the governor visited the Proctors home to arrest Elizabeth,
Mary was there working as a servant and was asked about the court s main piece of evidence, the
poppet , or doll. Mary also answered Reverend Hale, who asked about the needle in the poppet,
insisting she meant no harm

The Health Care Crisis Of The United States
The health care crisis in the United States has been out of control for many years. According to
National Health Expenditure Projections, Americans will spend approximately 3.2 trillion on
health care in 2015. If the United States health care system was a country, it would be the 6th
largest economy on the entire planet (National Health Expenditure). The article stated that back in
1960, an average person spends 147 dollars on health care, that number had increase rapidly to
8,086 dollars. I wonder why, but then again, cost of health care is not regulated by the government,
prices are set by American Medical Association (National Health Expenditure).
The United States spends more on health care than Japan, Germany, France, the United Kingdom
and Canada combined (Sick around the World). The top executives at the five largest for profit
health insurance companies in the United States combined made 200 million (National Health
Expenditure). Hospital executives continue to make millions of dollars in profit while consumers
struggle to pay off their medical costs. The United States is the only develop country where 62
percent of all personal bankruptcies were related to medical bills (Sick around the world).

I recently stayed at the Denver Warwick hotel for a business meeting and was very pleased with

Depression And Postpartum Depression
Postpartum Depression among Teenage Mothers
Introduction
Postpartum depression is a category of depression that can occur when a mother has a baby. The
symptoms of postpartum depression are similar to the symptoms of major depression. Postpartum
depression is often experienced during the first month that the baby is born (Bolyn 2017). Some
women experience postpartum depression during pregnancy (Bolyn 2017). A few symptoms of
postpartum depression are excessive crying, loss of appetite, feelings of hopelessness, and

Anemia, Low birth weight, Preeclampsia, and Premature delivery are effects of postpartum
depression during pregnancy (Mena 2016). Mothers who were going through postpartum
depression during the first three months of the child s life were seen to be irritable and less
engaged (Field 2011). Inadequate caregiving is also a major effect of postpartum depression (Field
2011). Mothers who have postpartum depression are less likely to continue breastfeeding if it
becomes difficult (Field 2011). Infant s with sleep problems are often put into unsafe sleep practices
because of a mother s postpartum depression (Field 2011). Infants of mothers with postpartum
depression are less likely to attend well doctor s appointments (Field 2011). Safety practices are
often violated when a mother has postpartum depression (Field 2011). Some mothers have thoughts
of harming their infants during postpartum depression (Field 2011). They also can have a fear of
being alone with their child (Field 2011). Mothers with postpartum depression are also known to
use harsher punishments (Field 2011).
Why it s important? It is important to receive treatment for postpartum depression because if it is
left untreated it could cause further problems. It is also important because a new mother could have
a pre existing underlying condition of depression (Stone 2014). Leaving postpartum depression
untreated can lead to a poor quality relationship with a partner

The Role Of Power In The Tempest
The Tempest
The Tempest battles a chaotic environment in an island far away from the societal influence. As
the characters struggle to cope with instability, the cycle of power, revenge, and betrayal takes in
form. William Shakespeare introduces the value of power and the influence it has in within the
society through the shipwreck in Act I. Gonzalo, a noble man, used his power over the Boatswain
as he threatened the Boatswain for disrespecting his place: ...good fate, to his hanging! Make the
rope of his destiny our cable (Shakespeare 31 32). As the play unfolds, the readers are exposed to
several incidents in which the characters forcefully capture power to satisfy their crave which
establishes a chaotic and hatful environment. In The Tempest, ... Show more content on

Shakespeare builds a chaotic environment with inescapable power battles to ultimately
illustrate that it is all useless. Upon Ariel s advice, Prospero gave up on his revenge and forgive
the characters who had once betrayed him: For you, most wicked sir, whom to call brother
would even infect my mouth, I do forgive thy rankest fault all of them (5.1. 130 132).. Prospero
sudden change in emotions and actions breaks the chain of endless hate and evilness. Through the
actions of Prospero, Shakespeare states that forgiveness and compromise achieves greater good
than revenge and betrayal: Ay, that I will; and I ll be wise hereafter, and seek for grace (5.1.

Cuba Human Geography
Cuba has been the source of controversy for decades. Between events such as the Bay of Pigs
invasion and the Cuban Missile Crisis in the 1960s and the country s ongoing Communist
dictatorship, this island nation has not always been thought of as an appealing place to visit.
However, Cuba s physical and human geography, especially when coupled with the lifting of the
US embargo, give it the potential to be a prime tourismdestination. Cubafirst gained importance in
the 1560s, when the Spanish built Havana as a center to keep and build navy ships. During the
1700s, it primarily profited from sugar plantations, though it also made money from cattle farming,
tobacco, and coffee. Cuba primarily exported the sugar it produced to Spain, but... Show more

Although only certain Americans will be able to visit Cuba at first, there is the potential to
allow free travel between the two countries in the future (Marsh, 2016). Because Americans
make up over half of all Caribbean tourist arrivals, they would likely add Cuba to their itineraries
when visiting the region. Another potential sector for development is ferry service from Florida
to Cuba. These ferries would easily allow Floridians to make quick weekend trips to the
Caribbean, and even bring their car by using one of the larger drive on ferries (Padilla McElroy,
2007, p. 650). In addition to ferries, Havana could become a port of call for the hundreds of cruise
ships that sail through the Caribbean each week. Although the Port of Havana is currently only
suitable for smaller ships with a maximum length of 755 feet, the government is sure to realize the
huge potential economic benefit from cruise ships and construct larger areas for them to dock (Port
of Havana). Another way Americans will be able to visit Cuba in the future is by plane. Currently,
the United States Department of Transportation is reviewing bids submitted by airlines in February
for various routes between the United States and Cuba. Flights are expected to be rewarded to
airlines over the summer and to begin around October. Competition between airlines is likely to
result in flights

Reflection On Borderline Personality Disorder
Reflection Number Three Over the past few units, I have greatly expanded my knowledge about
several different psychological topics. Though many of the topics that were discussed sparked my
interest, there were two types of disorders that furthered my knowledge, but also eliminated some
stereotypes that I had about them. The two main areas that I learned more about regarding these
disorders were characteristics of the disorders and different methods of treatment. A common theme
that has been discussed in multiple different units is that several psychological disorders can have
similar symptoms and characteristics. It is crucial to understand what makes one psychological
disorder different than another one. Determining what type of disorders an individual might have
can lead to better and more accurate treatment options; treatments methods are important because
they help individuals manage their disorders. The two disorders that I found to be the most
important and most interesting are borderline personality disorderand schizophrenia. Borderline
personality disorder is associated with a variety of different components and symptoms. The two
main areas that borderline personality disorder is related to are moods and relationships; both of
these areas tend to be quite unstable. The element about borderline personality disorder that I was
not aware of was the increased risk that they have of injury or even death by their own hands. It is a
common stereotype that is depicted in the media that those with psychological disorders are always
acting sporadically and causing harm. It was discussed in this unit that the main reason these
individuals are risks to themselves is because of instability, dysfunction, and impulsivity. Though
these elements may sound like they match what is portrayed in the media, there are deeper
meanings behind them that can cause dangerous behaviors. Instability is associated with
relationships; individuals with borderline personality disorder often have unstable relationships
because of their lack of emotional control, which can then lead to a constant fear of abandonment.
Dysfunction is associated with unstable emotions and is often a good predictor of potential suicidal
thoughts and

President Ronald Reagan And President Reagan
Being president is a huge responsibility, and there are some who have done an excellent job.
Then there are others who have made our economy, as well as our country, go down the drain.
However, I have to hand it to President Ronald Wilson Reagan, because the time he was in office
he really pumped the country up, and did a tremendous job running it as well as helping in every
way he could. Ronald Reaganwas born on February 6, 1911, in Tampico, Illinois. Reagan passed
away June 5, 2004, and was buried in Simi Valley, California. He graduated from Eureka College
in 1932 with a Bachelor s of Arts degree in social science and economics. Before Mr. Reagan was
president he was also an actor, and performed in 53 different movies. He was of the Christian
religion. President Ronald Reagan was the 40th president, and part of the Republican party. The
First Lady was Nancy Reagan, and the Vice President was George H.W. Bush while Ronald
Reagan was in office. They were successful with two terms together from 1981 until 1989.
Obviously Reagan liked politics, and definitely caught his attention since that is what he
graduated from college with. But, his political views really shifted from liberal to republican in
the 1960 s while supporting Nixon in Nixon s campaign in California against Pat Brown. Reagan
did quite a few General Electric speeches for Nixon as well in his campaign. The result from these
speeches was merely freedom is what the people got from these speeches.

A Foreign Mirror
Reflections in a Foreign Mirror
After reading the novels assigned in this Asian American class, it seems that many Asian American
experiences are similar. One similarity that is outstandingly prominent is how an outside culture
impacts either directly or indirectly a foreign society. Often, the influences of the powerful yet
glamorous American lifestyle lead to self hatred of one s own society and culture. We see this in
Obasan, by Joy Kogawa, and in Dogeaters, by Jessica Hagedorn, where many of the characters
cease to acknowledge their own identity by living vicariously through movies, music and other
American influences. In this essay, I will compare and contrast the portrayals of this self hatred,
and analyze how America ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this quote Rio acknowledges her weakness at such a young age. It seems awkward for a ten
year old to understand weakness because usually children at that age believe they are invisible,
unstoppable, and even superheroes. Acknowledgment of weakness suggests that Rio has been
exposed to a culturally debilitating society. She also enjoys the theater, a place where she can
retreat from her everyday life and live in American movies. The movie theater is a place for
escape from a mundane Filipino life to a glamorous American one. The comfort that the theater
brings is not just physical, it is also mental; allowing moviegoers to live like an American.
Self hatred and shame of one s identity is seen through the favoritism of American characteristics.
For example, Pucha is adorned because of her blond hair and her mestiza nose (p5), suggesting
that having blond hair and a straight pointy nose is superior to having dark hair and a broad nose a
common Filipino characteristic. Pucha is also described as strong, overpowering and confident
further suggesting that American characteristics alone can make one inherently advantaged.
Another instance where we see self denial is with Rio s father who adamantly calls himself a guest
in his own country; even though he is a third generation Filipino (p7). He argues that though he was
born in the Philippines, he feels like a

An Experiment on the Synthesis and Characterization of...
Introduction In this experiment, the focus will be the synthesis and characterization of biodiesel
fuel. Biodiesel seems to have become the substitute for fossil fuel. It can also be an alternative for
the petroleum based biodiesel. By having renewable resources such as corn, soybeans, peanuts and
other makes biodiesela viable option. Using these resources wouldn t help alleviate the problems
with fossil fuel in the US. Biodiesel is produced from the transesterification reaction of vegetable
oil. Transesterification is the reversible reaction where one ester is converted into another by
exchanging an ester group with an alcohol in the presence of a base.
Experimental
According to the Laboratory Manual, there are multiple steps. We will need 50mL vegetable oil,
10mL methanol, 0.5mL 9M NaOH, diesel fuel, salt and ice. For preparation of Biodiesel, various
types of oil were available for synthesizing biodiesel. Measure 50mL of biodiesel into a 250mL
beaker. Second, add a clean magnetic stir bar to the oil and the place the beaker on a stirring
hotplate. Adjust the stirring rate so that the solution is being well mixed without splashing and turn
heat on low. Third, while the mixture is heating prepare a solution of methanol and sodium
hydroxide. Measure 10mL of methanol into a small beaker. Add 0.5mL of 9M NaOH to the
methanol. Fourth, heat the mixture to 50C. As soon as the oil reaches 50C, turn off heat, but
continue stirring. Fifth, slowly pour the methanol/NaOH mixture

Benefits Of The Great Wall Of China
The Great Wall of China is the world s longest wall and biggest ancient architecture. The Great
Wall was finished/opened in 206 BC which meant that the Great Wall took approximately 20 years
to build.. There are several reasons why the benefits outweighed the costs, such as, the Great Wall
protected China, there would be no more Xiongnu invasions, and the Great Wall follows the famed
Silk Road. So, the benefits outweighed the costs in my opinion. To start, the Great Wall protected
China. This meant that there would be no more Xiongnu invasions. The Xiongnu were a fierce and
threatening group of nomads. Also, this means that there would be no other invasions from any
other group or tribe. The Great Wall would prevent anything else than invasions.

The Flowers by Alice Walker Essay
The Flowers by Alice Walker is a short story written in the 1970 s. The story focuses on Myop, a
ten year old African American girl who loves to explore the land in which she lives. Carefree and
naГЇve, Myop decides to travel further away from her Sharecropper cabin and travels deep inside
the woods to unfamiliar land where she discovers the decomposed body of an African American
man. It is then Myop quickly grows up and suddenly becomes aware of the world in which she
lives. The story relies on setting and symbolism to convey the theme of departing innocence.
Firstly the author wants to create an astonishing and radient world in which Myop lives in with
beautiful sceery and picturesque skies. To do this her descriptions of the... Show more content on

Walker still continues to illustrate the setting throughout paragraph three where she says silver
ferns and wildflowers grew . Again this tells the reader that Myop s surroundings are beautiful,
tranquil and peaceful. Alice then goes on to tell us that Myop lives in a sharecropper cabin which
gives across a strong sense of safety as it is familiar and family orientated.
Added to this, the writer s use of symbolism strengthens this idea of attractiveness and inexperience,
Myop s name being the main symbol. Myop is short for Myopia. The name given to short
sightedness. This is used as a metaphor as Myop s naivety, then as the story goes on Myop opens
her eyes to see what the real world is like and the author mentions her name less. Another symbol
used in paragraph 2 is the warm sun . This symbolises the light and life of the world. It is a time
when people are supposed to be awake and no body should be sleeping but this is later contrasted
further on in the story. All the setting and scenery described gives an image of the Garden of Eden
paradise a place everyone wants to be, where nothing bad can happen up until one critical moment
when Eve eats the apple and everything forever changes. This gives the reader an insight in to the
rest of the story but still leaves them wondering what could happen next.
However the atmosphere begins to change halfway through

Ban Banning Campus Firearms Bans
Advisory Opinion on Constitutionality of Prohibiting Campus Firearms Bans
The Indiana Constitution explicitly says that The Supreme Court shall have, in all appeals of
criminal cases, the power to review all questions of law and to review and revise the sentence
imposed (Article 1 Section 4). Consequently, based in this legal definition, the Supreme Court is
banned on providing advisory opinions, including an advisory opinion on constitutionality of
Prohibiting campus firearms bans and in any other issue, expects the criminal cases. Indiana
Constitution, guarantees the separation of power principles, among different branches and even
though that this is not said in an explicit way, the spirit of the constitution of Indiana, has
established strong principles of separation of power and check and balances system among different
branches. Furthermore, even the US Constitution (Article III of the US constitution) specifies that
the judicial Power of the United States extends only to actual Cases and Controversies . It thereby
helps to ensure that the legal questions presented to the federal courts will not take the form of
abstract intellectual problems resolved in the rarified atmosphere of a debating society but instead
those questions will be presented in a concrete factual context conducive to a realistic appreciation
of the consequences of judicial action . Therefore, asking other judicial institutions for an advisory
opinion don t have a strong legal base and it

  • 2. Current Marketing Plan Essay Examination of Current Marketing Plan The evaluation team made a mistake that I believe anyone could have made. The team focused on their intended population in which they wanted to market preventative care for prostate exams, and received all the information they needed to successfully make that happen. What I believe went wrong is that the forgot to look at outside resources, influences and environments, these men are in. The group could have considered what type of influences were put upon the men to go to the doctors in the first place. Why is there is so little concer for prevention meseasures of prostate cancer, but such high (88%) of doctors visits for advanced stage prostate cancer. I would keep the same survey that was originally ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this case, men did not seem to think they had a problem until their wife s made/said they had a problem. We should always look outside the box, inside the box, making sure we are addressing all the influences of health behavior actions. Evaluation Tools I would perform a consumer survey to help determine what the intended popualtion knows about prostate cancer. This survey would also be available to women to fill out, this is just one way to help make sure that our intended population gets some of the important information on prostate cancer. Performing a consumer survey either by using s computer or by handing them out, will allow us to see what type of marketing needs to be done. What are the outlets that our populations uses the most, what are we wasting our time on, how much money can we save. Another tool I would use is the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) to help measure engagement. After all the marketing tools have been implemented and the intended population has been reached, I would use a surveillance system to help monitor various factors over an extended amount of time (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services [HHS], Center for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC] ,2011). These factors would be how many men are going to get their prostates checked every fours years, who makes their appointments, how many prostate cancers screenings come back negative or ... • 3. Vector VECTOR FUNCTIONS VECTOR FUNCTIONS Motion in Space: Velocity and Acceleration In this section, we will learn about: The motion of an object using tangent and normal vectors. MOTION IN SPACE: VELOCITY AND ACCELERATION Here, we show how the ideas of tangent and normal vectors and curvature can be used in physics to study:  The motion of an object, including its velocity and acceleration, along a space curve. VELOCITY AND ACCELERATION In particular, we follow in the footsteps of Newton by using these methods to derive Kepler s First Law of planetary motion. VELOCITY Suppose a particle moves through space so that its position vector at time t is r(t). VELOCITY Vector 1 Notice from the figure ... • 4. VELOCITY ACCELERATION Example 3 Since v(t) = r (t), we have: r(t) = ∫ v(t) dt = ∫ [(2t2 + 1) i + (3t2 1) j + (t + 1) k] dt = (в…”t3 + t) i + (t3 t) j + (В Ѕt2 + t) k + D VELOCITY ACCELERATION Example 3 Putting t = 0, we find that D = r(0) = i. So, the position at time t is given by: r(t) = (в…”t3 + t + 1) i + (t3 t) j + (ВЅt2 + t) k VELOCITY ACCELERATION The expression for r(t) that we obtained in Example 3 was used to plot the path of the particle here for 0 ≤ t ≤ 3. VELOCITY ACCELERATION In general, vector integrals allow us to recover:  Velocity, when acceleration is known v(t ) v(t0 ) t t0 a(u ) du  Position, when velocity is known r (t ) r (t0 ) t t0 v(u ) du VELOCITY ACCELERATION If the force that acts on a particle is known, then the acceleration can be found from Newton s Second Law of Motion.

  • 6. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Discrete Wavelet Transform Discrete Wavelet Transform DWT is a frequency based transform which is performed on wavelets. It can be 1 D, 2 D and etc. It divides an image into four sub bands, namely пѓ LL (Low resolution image) пѓ HL (Horizontal) пѓ LH (vertical) пѓ HH (diagonal) This division can be performed up to many levels. It captures not only notion of frequency content but also temporal content. Wavelets provide a mathematical way of encoding information in such a way that it is layered according to level of detail. DWT is more computationally efficient than other transformations because of its excellent localization properties. Wavelets are capable of complete lossless reconstruction of image[6]. First the original watermarked image is being rotated by 90o , then 180o and at last the image is being rotated by 270o in clock wise direction. Gaussian noise On digital image Gaussian noise can be reduced using a spatial filter, though when smoothing an image, an undesirable outcome may result in the blurring of fine scaled image edges and details because they also correspond to blocked high frequencies. Image compression Image compression may be lossy or lossless. Lossless compression is preferred for archival purposes and often for medical imaging, technical drawings, clip art, or comics. Lossy compression methods, especially when used at low bit rates, introduce compression artifacts. Lossy methods are especially suitable for natural images such as photographs in applications. Salt and pepper Noise Salt and pepper noise is an attack for which a certain amount of the pixels in the image are either black or white (hence the name of the noise). Salt and pepper noise can be used to model defects in the transmission of the image that a pixel is corrupted. Additive ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Faith In Hawthorne s Young Goodman Brown Young Goodman Brown story was very interesting as it talked about God and Brown s faith. When he went out in the forest in Salem Village, I believed everything that happened was something conjured by evil but Brown put himself in that situation. That morning, his wife Faith asked him for a hug and kiss, and tried to convince her husband Brown, not to go into the forest at night. She whispered in his ear, Put off your journey until sunrise, and sleep in your own bed tonight, (Brown 386). Faith was a Godly woman who always prayed for her and her husband. She too had troubled dreams and thoughts. She was afraid of herself sometimes, especially of her thoughts. Brown never knew about her doubtful thoughts. Brown didn t understand with it being... She was all in doubt, questioning her own faith, but just always tried/ wanted to stay strong for Brown. Once Brown started seeing everybody else crossover including his wife Faith, he too begin to doubt his own faith, and belief in God. Brown started to feel himself get weak, so he lifts his hands to pray. When he started praying, a dark black cloud shifted northward and came along some confused doubtful voices. A lot of voices was clouding Brown s mind but he stayed strong, and firm. He didn t let nothing, or nobody get to him. He was very hurt by the fact of seeing his wife crossing over to the devil side. Brown got back home and saw his wife sitting there with the same pink ribbons in her head. He then too began to think that he was dreaming or if it was a true story or not. As I stated at the beginning of my essay, everything that had happened was something convinced by evil. The evil Travelers were trying to convince others to be of the Devil and not God. Now he wonders why his neither Grandfather nor Father took that dark gloomy path, and was always in the house before midnight. He also sees why his wife didn t want him to go on that evil journey. Brown doesn t know what to believe, he doesn t know if his wife crossed over to be with the devil or not. His mind is playing tricks on him. Since Brown is having those thoughts, he ... Problem Solving Final Project Paper Christine Crocker GS1140 Problem Solving Theory Dr. Tiera Coston 4/7/2012 In the greater Baton Rouge area, there are 270 automotive and collision repair businesses. Within three miles from Fisher s Automotive, where my husband Paul works, there are 40 shops that are providing some of the same services as Fisher s. Of those 40, 26 perform collision repair. Before I started school, I worked at Fisher s with Paul. I was a body technician and helped with some of the office duties. Paul is still currently the head painter. Fisher s can also have a custom painted trailer with advertising on it for delivering and transporting cars that have been restored. The trouble with this type of advertising will be finding well known businesses willing to sponsor them and the cost of the ads. The other concept that Fisher s can use is the retail and accessory market. Some of the different ways that it can use this market would be by selling different types of products, for example, t shirts and hats. Fisher s can design some one of a kind aftermarket kits for bumpers or hoods, or it can design its own custom wheel with the new logo. The possibilities for the retail market can be almost endless. The drawbacks to this type of market would be the product inventory, the shipping process, and the product liability. With inventory, someone will be faced with inventory control and taxes. Shipping would require someone responsible for boxing, labeling, and delivery. As for product liability, the company may have to increase the amount of insurance should a product fail and end up in a lawsuit. Choosing a combination of providing new services for boats and RV s, introducing a new image, and implementing a new marketing strategy will work best for Fisher s to get the competitive edge over its competition. Providing the new services to boats and RV s will generate a higher profit because insurance companies have no set labor rate cost, so Fisher s will be able to mandate what it feels is fair to working ... • 10. Jim Carrey Impact On Depression Comedians are not always the funny personality on stage or on screen. Such a case can be observed with comedian and actor Jim Carrey. As well as many other comedians Jim Carrey struggled with depression. According to a 2004 interview with CBS, Jim Carrey s parents struggled with financial problems and the problems made him dislike human interaction at a young age (2004). It was during this time Jim Carreyfelt angry with the world for making him live in poverty. However, he told CBS that he developed his sense of humor by trying to make his mother laugh when she was very sick (2004). When he eventually came to rise to fame, when money was no longer an issue his mental health became one. Jim Carrey would use various ways to cope with his depression and keep up with his mental health. Jim Carrey s first occurrence of depression was his childhood. Based on what is known about his life and the patterns of depression can be speculated. During his adolescence, he discussed the troubles he faced alongside his parents about a life in poverty. Early signs of depression may have been present during his childhood and left untreated. An article from the National Institute of Health claims that depression during a person s childhood can lead to other mental disorders going into adulthood (2012). That led to his depression in adulthood that made him grow a dependency on Prozac. The impact of Jim Carrey s depression can rarely be seen. Jim Carrey is often reclusive and has not said much ... The Selfish Gene is commonly misinterpreted and Dawkins uses this novel as his attempt to clarify his thoughts on the Selfish Gene. The main themes presented in the book are Concepts of altruistic and selfish behavior, Genetic definition of self interest, Evolution of aggressive behavior, Kinship theory, Sex Ratio theory, Reciprocal altruism, Deceit and Natural selection of sex differences. Many people question and or disagree with Dawkins views on the selfish gene but his ideas on the subject are logical. In the opening first chapter Dawkins carefully explains that the book is not is not a framework for morality or a set of behavioral guidelines. What Dawkins argues, is that all animals are machines created by our genes. Since it was possible for our genes to have survived over thousands of years we expect certain qualities from them. Child bearing calls into consideration reproduction, whereas child caring calls into consideration if the individual is worth caring for. Dawkins poses the question in this chapter is birth control altruistic or selfish? Altruistic as a practice for the good of the group; or selfish, for the good of the individual reproducing? Dawkins tackles both theories, considers the cost and benefits of bearing and caring, but ultimately the answer is a mix of both theories, animals optimize their birth rates rather than restrict them for public ... Symbols Of The Nobility And The Proletariat Symbols of aristocratic authority in Miss Julie, facilitate societal discussion on ethically acceptable behaviour as sexual, gender and class conflicts emerge through individuals having challenged hierarchal structure despite having internalized distinct ideological frameworks. Strindberg utilizes uncertainty and the reveling Midsummer atmosphere to justify aristocratic need for isolation in order to maintain a guise of dominance. Julie s failure to embody submissive characteristics and conform to social paradigms by alienating herself from the servitude, threatens the hierarchal structure, using social structure to dictate ethical behaviour within society. Hence, Julie s death is justified as necessary to reinstate social order through isolating and subjugating the proletariat. Liberation and freedom are impossible to obtain due to the anxiety producing agency of the Count, symbolizing the omnipresence of repressive Capitalist dictates due to the impact on psyche as a product of nurture. Symbols of authority existing only to perpetuate elite authority are present in Jean as he is socially alienated from the aristocracy, despite characteristically embodying the role. • 13. Taking a Look at the Bangladesh Genocides The Bangladesh Genocides is remembered as the most concentrated genocide of the 20th century, however it is an astonishing act of overlooking. In an attempt to crush forces seeking independence for East Pakistan, the West Pakistani military regime unleashed an efficient campaign of mass murder which aimed at killing millions of Bengalis, and succeeded in doing so. For the bloodbath in March December 1971 when the Pakistani army executed a largely unarmed Bengali population in the then vital part of Pakistan s state known as East Pakistan , in an effort to suppress the region s demand for independence was at the time the biggest story in the world s media. BACKGROUND INFORMATION Before 1971, Bangladesh was divided into two regions; both with opposing political power. Although East Pakistan (Bangladesh) withheld the larger population between the two provinces, it acquired much less political dominance than West Pakistan. Through the power and representation of leader Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, East Pakistan rebelled. Rahman, leader of political party The Awami League demanded more powers both politically and economically. This struggle finally cumulated into the war of independence for East Pakistan. CAUSE OF THE GENOCIDE In the 1971 national elections, The Awami League, led by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, had a major success, winning 160 seats as well as majority of the national assembly. Rahman demanded independence for East Pakistan, as well as the right to form a government. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Millions of animals are killed in laboratories everyday with no chance to object to what the testers are about to do to them. Animals feel as much pain as humans do so why does it make it okay to test on them when they are so alike to humans? If humans feel that testing on animals is nothing bad then why don t we put people under the telescope and test on them instead? Animals have as much right to life as humans do! Don t judge animals on how much hair on their bodies, but on their likeness to human life and procedures. Animals are now used as objects of experiments to test a variety of products; like shampoo, makeup, and medicines. Animals are almost always used in cancer research but animals never get the human form of cancer which affects the lungs. Animals are not required in animal testing, but people seem to ignore this statement and test on animals anyway. Testing cosmetics on animalsis somewhat pointless because animals have different skin and hair than humans have. Animals are not even required in animal testing at all; a makeup company can release an untested product at their own risks. The movie Wag the Dog has more of a conspiracy theory view to it, and sort of a Hollywood representation of what could happen in our government. While the movie Mr. Smith Goes to Washington has more of a historical view to show the goings on in the Senate, ways to have a bill passed, and the kind of control some Senators can have. They both provide an insight on what could be going on behind the closed doors of our government. In the movie Wag the Dog, the President is accused of having inappropriate contact with one of the Firefly Girls. This happens just weeks before Election Day. One of the President s advisors, Conrad Brean, decides to hire a Hollywood producer, Stanley Motss, to create a distraction to get the people s minds off of the alleged misconduct of the President. One main problem I felt with this type of discussion is that there are so many people. In the socratic, having small groups allows everyone to be able to contribute and be involved in the discussion. Having 10 15 people and just one really broad question doesn t cut it. I feel like there could have been either smaller groups or multiple questions within one group. Pathetic Fallacy Play Analysis CALCULATING DESTINY is an ambitious script that combines various story genres including a psychological supernatural story, as well as a sci fi tale combined with an action thriller. At the heart of the story is a man caught in the middle of a major conspiracy. There are themes about destiny, free will, and the universal theme of good versus evil. While the plot tries to tell a compelling tale with many intriguing ideas, unfortunately, the combination of the various genres, several plotlines, and the series of events make for a convoluted, and often, challenging plotline to follow. Psychological positivism is a theory, which suggest that there is criminal personality that resides in the minds of the criminals. The theory was designed by Austrian neurologist called Sigmund Freud. He believed that some people committed crime due to certain internal factors that one had little or no control over. These internal factors can be formed due to lack of parental love or it can also be formed if an individual has suffered a tragedy in the past which can lead to an individual committing crime. Sigmund Feud also believed that there are more than one aspects to human personality. These aspects are id, ego and superego which developed over time in different stages in one s life. The first thing that is developed in human personality is the id. It is a biological component of the personality, which include human s basics. The id is our most primitive need gratification impulses. The second interacting force that is developed in our nature is called superego, which exist in all three of our consciousness. Superego is the higher power of our mind that is concerned with what is socially acceptable. The third and the last aspect of our personality is called ego which only exist in conscious and preconscious minds. The ego feature of our personality works according to reality principle. People s lives depend on quick and immediate care of EMTs and paramedics (Ch. 15 PowerPoint, slide 3). Paramedics are called out to a range of different incidents. It could be someone who has fallen from scaffolding or an elderly person with a suspected stroke (Paramedic). Paramedics work closely with doctors and nurses in hospital s emergency departments, briefing them as their patient arrives at hospital (Paramedic). For example, if a patient has a heart problem, they can receive fast transportation to a healthcare facility (Ch. 15 PowerPoint, slide 3). There is a program called race used when patients are having heart problems (Kerry Slate, Personal conversation, July 13, 2015). This means that the first EKG is ran by the paramedics and sent straight to the emergency department s physician. • 28. Art History Through The 19th Century Sean Ly Student ID: 03299319 LA 121 OL4: Art History Through The 19th Century December 18, 2015 Sara Ellis Michelangelo s David and Gian Lorenzo Bernini David There are not many artists in the world of sculptors that can compare or surpass the work of these two artists. The comparison that I will make is between two different artists who happened to create a marble statue of the biblical David but did it differently and during different eras of art. Michelangelo created his seventeen feet, standing nude male statue of David first during the renaissance era between the year 1501 and 1504 in the 16th century while Gian Lorenzo Bernini did it later in 1624 using the baroque style which was the artistic style of the 17th century (Coughlan, 18). The artwork of these two artists goes a long way in defining the state of art culturally and stylistically its significance during the particular periods they created their respective statues of David. Having seen both sculptures it is safe to stylistically analyze that Michelangelo and the renaissance masters concentrated more on the rules of geometry design because looking at his statue of David everything about the statue is idealized in the sense that his sculpture s size is not the normal size of a human being. He basically used the rules of geometry and symmetry to build a big body block and decorated it with the details of a figure that served his architecture. His methods allowed him to recreate every part of the figure ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For this, they must be able to act with ease, bring form and beauty to their creative expressions, and see the big picture so they can convey it in their performance, (Michael). This site goes on to discuss the things that his Method consists of. Discussed first is the idea of allowing the body to be trained to be receptive so that it can convey the inner life and emotions of a character to the audience. Chekhov thought that method acting was very unhealthy for the actor and stunted creativity and inspiration for a character. He instead wanted actors to get into the mindset of the character and learn to understand why they do what they do through analysis. He encouraged students to go into the world and watch real people interacting with each other and with the world around them to draw inspiration for themselves. His method consists of a lot of inner analysis, meaning using your brain and your own creativity and imagination to explore the characters reality. It also suggests that an actor should learn to imagine their environment and its atmosphere/ conditions to better understand the physicalizations of the character. A Study On Eating Pathology Among Latinas Essay THEORETICAL PROPOSITIONS There is a lack of studies that investigate the eating pathology among Latinas even though there is evidence that a binge eating component (i.e. binge eating disorder, bulimia nervosa) is more prevalent among Latinas compared with other races. For those who are engaged in binge eating tend to have unrealistic high expectations for themselves, which often are difficult to achieve. When the individual, in this case a Latina, has fallen short of these high expectations, they experience negative affect from which she is motivated to binge eat. Dr. Neyland proposed that stressful experiences across three domains of interest: individual, family, and environment. The independent variable of acculturative stress (individual level) is defined as the stress and reduction in health status that one experiences while going under the process of adapting to a different culture. Then for family, there is family disconnection, which is not unique to Latinas but there is a strong emphasis that Latinas place on family relationships. They value it so much that if they experience family disconnection, they would likely be experienced as failure to meet cultural standards. And lastly, there is the environmental factor which is discrimination. In the search for antibodies and associated malignancy anti Yo (PCA 1), anti Tr (PCA Tr) and anti mGluR1 are associated with relatively pure cerebellar syndromes. Anti Yo antibodies point at breast, ovarian, endometrium and fallopian tube cancers[70]. Rarely, anti Yo associated PCD occurs in male patients, usually associated with a gastrointestinal adenocarcinoma, expressing the cdr2 antigen(Debes et al. 2007). Anti Tr antibodies appear specific for Hodgkin s disease(Bernal et al. 2003) and anti mGluR1 antibodies have been found in two patients with PCD and Hodgkin s disease(Sillevis Smitt et al. 2000). About 50% of PCD patients with an underlying SCLC have high titers of anti Hu antibodies while the remaining patients are likely to have anti P/Q type VGCC antibodies. These antibodies were present in all patients who also had Lambert Eaton myasthenic syndrome (LEMS). In patients with anti amphihysin or anti CV2 antibodies, the cerebellar degeneration is often part of the PEM syndrome and more widespread neurological symptoms and signs are usually found. • 39. Mary Warren Character Analysis Mystery of Mary Warren Everything is not what it seems, while this lyric may seem trite, it holds great truth. People, places, activities, each can be viewed in more than one way depending on the circumstances. From these viewpoints spring complexities and mystery in the shape of differing facades. Mary Warren, a young woman living in Massachusetts during the Salem witch trials, shows no exception to differing viewpoints. Throughout The Crucible, in which Mary Warren is a character, the very children whom the town considers holy, appear also to perpetrate the vicious crime of murder through false allegations of witchcraft. Unable to recognize the children s crime because of their innocent appearance, citizens of Salem conduct dozens of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The sudden change in Mary s opinion of both the girls and John Proctor, exhibits her apparent inability to stand firm against the manipulative powers of Abigail. While this trait could seem negative, passed off as fickle, Mary was able to keep her true identity a mystery to Salem. Through turning against John, Mary deceived not only him, but indirectly Abigail too. After Mary had sided with Abigail and the other girls, she accused John of personifying . . . the devil s man (524), meaning a wizard. Previously, Abigail and John Proctor were involved, a relationship in which Mary knew of. By accusing John of wizardry, Mary hurt the only person in Salem Abigail had strong, positive feelings towards, likely knowing the consequences of her accusation. While the accusation of John could have been simply the opportunity of the moment, it is likely Mary used her personal knowledge of Abigail to get revenge after being accused of witchcraft. A facade of innocence allowed Mary to deceive those around her, often without their knowledge. Along with giving the impression of manipulability, Mary shows apparent genuine concern for those who appear to control her. When the governor visited the Proctors home to arrest Elizabeth, Mary was there working as a servant and was asked about the court s main piece of evidence, the poppet , or doll. Mary also answered Reverend Hale, who asked about the needle in the poppet, insisting she meant no harm ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. The Health Care Crisis Of The United States The health care crisis in the United States has been out of control for many years. According to National Health Expenditure Projections, Americans will spend approximately 3.2 trillion on health care in 2015. If the United States health care system was a country, it would be the 6th largest economy on the entire planet (National Health Expenditure). The article stated that back in 1960, an average person spends 147 dollars on health care, that number had increase rapidly to 8,086 dollars. I wonder why, but then again, cost of health care is not regulated by the government, prices are set by American Medical Association (National Health Expenditure). The United States spends more on health care than Japan, Germany, France, the United Kingdom and Canada combined (Sick around the World). The top executives at the five largest for profit health insurance companies in the United States combined made 200 million (National Health Expenditure). Hospital executives continue to make millions of dollars in profit while consumers struggle to pay off their medical costs. The United States is the only develop country where 62 percent of all personal bankruptcies were related to medical bills (Sick around the world). Some politician had proposed bills to have the health care system reformed, but had rarely been successful. Surprisingly, in 2010, a reform was passed. I recently stayed at the Denver Warwick hotel for a business meeting and was very pleased with the entire experience! I will start off and mention the small gripes I have, one of which is how far this place is from the airport. I suppose that is to be expected since it is in Downtown Denver, and Colorado is definitely a vast area (this was my first visit out there...) but the $65 ride from the airport was a sting! The other thing I found to be a little odd was that there was no ATM in the hotel. We needed cash to be able to pay our car driver back to the airport, and had to go across the street to one (which ended up being out of service) so that was a little inconvenient, but our driver was kind and helped us find one nearby. Beyond those two things, the stay at the Warwick was nothing but positive. I was given a junior suite that was also handicapped accessible, and it was perfect. There was a very comfortable king bed, a big flat screen TV, a little sitting area upon entering and a desk/office area with plenty of outlets to plug in electronics! The wireless access was $10 a day, but for a flawless high speed, connection, it was well worth it The bathroom was absolutely beautiful and very good sized! The symptoms of postpartum depression are similar to the symptoms of major depression. Postpartum depression is often experienced during the first month that the baby is born (Bolyn 2017). Some women experience postpartum depression during pregnancy (Bolyn 2017). A few symptoms of postpartum depression are excessive crying, loss of appetite, feelings of hopelessness, and difficulty concentrating (Bolyn 2017). Between events such as the Bay of Pigs invasion and the Cuban Missile Crisis in the 1960s and the country s ongoing Communist dictatorship, this island nation has not always been thought of as an appealing place to visit. However, Cuba s physical and human geography, especially when coupled with the lifting of the US embargo, give it the potential to be a prime tourismdestination. Cubafirst gained importance in the 1560s, when the Spanish built Havana as a center to keep and build navy ships. Although only certain Americans will be able to visit Cuba at first, there is the potential to allow free travel between the two countries in the future (Marsh, 2016). Because Americans make up over half of all Caribbean tourist arrivals, they would likely add Cuba to their itineraries when visiting the region. Another potential sector for development is ferry service from Florida to Cuba. These ferries would easily allow Floridians to make quick weekend trips to the Caribbean, and even bring their car by using one of the larger drive on ferries (Padilla McElroy, 2007, p. 650). In addition to ferries, Havana could become a port of call for the hundreds of cruise ships that sail through the Caribbean each week. • 45. Reflection On Borderline Personality Disorder Reflection Number Three Over the past few units, I have greatly expanded my knowledge about several different psychological topics. Though many of the topics that were discussed sparked my interest, there were two types of disorders that furthered my knowledge, but also eliminated some stereotypes that I had about them. The two main areas that I learned more about regarding these disorders were characteristics of the disorders and different methods of treatment. A common theme that has been discussed in multiple different units is that several psychological disorders can have similar symptoms and characteristics. It is crucial to understand what makes one psychological disorder different than another one. Determining what type of disorders an individual might have can lead to better and more accurate treatment options; treatments methods are important because they help individuals manage their disorders. The two disorders that I found to be the most important and most interesting are borderline personality disorderand schizophrenia. Borderline personality disorder is associated with a variety of different components and symptoms. The two main areas that borderline personality disorder is related to are moods and relationships; both of these areas tend to be quite unstable. The element about borderline personality disorder that I was not aware of was the increased risk that they have of injury or even death by their own hands. It is a common stereotype that is depicted in the media that those with psychological disorders are always acting sporadically and causing harm. It was discussed in this unit that the main reason these individuals are risks to themselves is because of instability, dysfunction, and impulsivity. Though these elements may sound like they match what is portrayed in the media, there are deeper meanings behind them that can cause dangerous behaviors. Instability is associated with relationships; individuals with borderline personality disorder often have unstable relationships because of their lack of emotional control, which can then lead to a constant fear of abandonment. Dysfunction is associated with unstable emotions and is often a good predictor of potential suicidal thoughts and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, I have to hand it to President Ronald Wilson Reagan, because the time he was in office he really pumped the country up, and did a tremendous job running it as well as helping in every way he could. Ronald Reaganwas born on February 6, 1911, in Tampico, Illinois. Reagan passed away June 5, 2004, and was buried in Simi Valley, California. He graduated from Eureka College in 1932 with a Bachelor s of Arts degree in social science and economics. Before Mr. Reagan was president he was also an actor, and performed in 53 different movies. He was of the Christian religion. President Ronald Reagan was the 40th president, and part of the Republican party. The First Lady was Nancy Reagan, and the Vice President was George H.W. Bush while Ronald Reagan was in office. They were successful with two terms together from 1981 until 1989. Obviously Reagan liked politics, and definitely caught his attention since that is what he graduated from college with. But, his political views really shifted from liberal to republican in the 1960 s while supporting Nixon in Nixon s campaign in California against Pat Brown. One similarity that is outstandingly prominent is how an outside culture impacts either directly or indirectly a foreign society. Often, the influences of the powerful yet glamorous American lifestyle lead to self hatred of one s own society and culture. We see this in Obasan, by Joy Kogawa, and in Dogeaters, by Jessica Hagedorn, where many of the characters cease to acknowledge their own identity by living vicariously through movies, music and other American influences. In this quote Rio acknowledges her weakness at such a young age. It seems awkward for a ten year old to understand weakness because usually children at that age believe they are invisible, unstoppable, and even superheroes. Acknowledgment of weakness suggests that Rio has been exposed to a culturally debilitating society. She also enjoys the theater, a place where she can retreat from her everyday life and live in American movies. The movie theater is a place for escape from a mundane Filipino life to a glamorous American one. The comfort that the theater brings is not just physical, it is also mental; allowing moviegoers to live like an American. Self hatred and shame of one s identity is seen through the favoritism of American characteristics. For example, Pucha is adorned because of her blond hair and her mestiza nose (p5), suggesting that having blond hair and a straight pointy nose is superior to having dark hair and a broad nose a common Filipino characteristic. Pucha is also described as strong, overpowering and confident further suggesting that American characteristics alone can make one inherently advantaged. Biodiesel seems to have become the substitute for fossil fuel. It can also be an alternative for the petroleum based biodiesel. By having renewable resources such as corn, soybeans, peanuts and other makes biodiesela viable option. Using these resources wouldn t help alleviate the problems with fossil fuel in the US. Biodiesel is produced from the transesterification reaction of vegetable oil. Transesterification is the reversible reaction where one ester is converted into another by exchanging an ester group with an alcohol in the presence of a base. Experimental According to the Laboratory Manual, there are multiple steps. We will need 50mL vegetable oil, 10mL methanol, 0.5mL 9M NaOH, diesel fuel, salt and ice. For preparation of Biodiesel, various types of oil were available for synthesizing biodiesel. Measure 50mL of biodiesel into a 250mL beaker. Second, add a clean magnetic stir bar to the oil and the place the beaker on a stirring hotplate. Adjust the stirring rate so that the solution is being well mixed without splashing and turn heat on low. Third, while the mixture is heating prepare a solution of methanol and sodium hydroxide. Measure 10mL of methanol into a small beaker. Add 0.5mL of 9M NaOH to the methanol. Fourth, heat the mixture to 50C. As soon as the oil reaches 50C, turn off heat, but continue stirring.
