Cover Contest Reflection
In the summer of 2016, I decided to enter the Luzerne county fair s guide cover contest. I came across
a problem, however; I missed the deadline and would need to wait till next year. I still went to the fair
in September to see my competition in other categories I entered, and to look at who won the cover
contest. When I saw the winning cover, I became discouraged. It was much better than anything I
could draw. I thought I wouldn t have a chance in next year s contest. I continued on in the fair,
wondering at what would happened if I entered next year. In May of 2017, I gained my enthusiasm
back. This time, I became determined to win the cover contest. More importantly, I became
determined to gain confidence in myself. I started working on

New Technology from 1945s to 2000
INTRODUCTION
The post World War II era provided new opportunities for the people of United States to explore and
develop new technologies which changed the United States dramatically; for example, a treatment for
polio, space exploration, introduction to computer, advancement in weapons industry, auto industry,
and color television etc. With all the technological advancements, how did technology change United
States? The paper will discuss the technological changes that happened in each era since 1945s to
2000. The paper will give each decade s most important technological inventions and changes;
additionally, changes in people s lives and what were positive or negatives impact in society, politics,

This was the main technological change because the way American people spend money completely
changed and the spending increased which gave boost to the economy for the coming decades.
TECHNOLOGY IN THE FIFTIES (1950 1959) The 1950s or The Fifties was a decade that was full
of events that gave new ideas and inventions. The decade was prosperous for the American people and
entrepreneurs because the economy was booming. However, as the economy was booming still they
were major conflicts associated with United States internally in the country and externally. For
example, some of the biggest conflicts were the Cold War between the Soviet Union, clashes between
communism and capitalism, Korean War, Red Scare (fear of communism) in United States. Still with
all those conflicts, in United States the progress in science and technology was on peak.
Arguably, the first greatest and most influential invention of the 20th century the Television publicly
placed for sale in markets in 1940s had originally made real maturity in the 1950s. People started to
buy large screen television sets because in the 40s there were only small television screens. In 1952,
RCA introduced the CTC 1, the first color television to utilize the NTSC (National Television System
Committee) video standard. The introductions were still too expensive for most people in that decade;
therefore, black and white

Literacy Level And Educational Attainment
Literacy level and educational attainment are main development indicators in development nation like
India. Better literacy and educational level definitely have a positive impact on the health and other
development index India is the largest democracy in the world. (Dr. Dinesh Das 2012) According to
Census 2011, there are 1.2 billion people in the country, out of which, about 833 million people live in
rural areas. Census 2011 data on disability has not been announced yet United Nations observed that
10% of the population has disability and there are about 120 million people with disabilities in India.
Disability is difficult to define since it varies in type, form and intensity. Understanding disability will
require understanding of these differences. As per the World Health Organization; Disability is an
umbrella term, covering impairments, activity limitations, and participation restrictions, impairment is
a problem in body function of structure; an activity limitation is difficulty encountered by an
individual in executing a task or action; while a participation restriction is a problem experienced by
an individual in involvement in life situations. Thus disability is a complex phenomenon, reflecting an
interaction between features of a person s body and features of the society in which he or she lives. (J
Franz and B Adkins, 2014) According census 2001 there was over 21 million people in Indian as
suffering from some kind of disabilities. This is equivalent to 2.1% of

Analysis Of A Perfect Day For Bananafish
Michael Connelly, a published author once said that, You can t patch a wounded soul with a band aid .
By saying that, Connelly is explaining that with mental illnesses you can t just fix the symptoms, you
have to fix the problem it will only get worse. A Perfect Day for Bananafish by J.D. Salinger tells
about a man named Seymour who suffers from PTSD who comes home from war and goes on a
honeymoon with his wife to Florida, where he ultimately kills himself, reasons for this include, that he
wants to relieve himself of the pain, he needs help that he is not getting, and he is isolated from his
wife and her world. One of the reasons Seymour kills himself is because he wants to end his suffering.
In the short story, when discussing bananafish, Seymour states, they swim into a hole where there s a
lot of bananas. They re very ordinary looking fish when they swim in. But once they get in, they
behave like pigs. Why, I ve known some bananafish to swim into a banana hole and eat as many as
seventy eight bananas. ... Naturally, after that they re so fat they can t get out of the whole again ...
[then] they die (Salinger 14). The bananafish keep eating and eating until they are so fat they die.
Seymour is like this in the way that he keeps digging himself deeper and deeper into the hole of
reclusiveness and depression until he just exploded and died. Another reason for Seymour s suicide is
that he not getting the help that he needs to function in society. When this story takes

President Herbert Hoover Bonus Marchers
Once again, President Herbert Hoover s ability to lead a nation during a national crisis was called into
question. In July 1932, World War I veterans attempted to persuade Congress to release funds owed to
them for their military service. For two months, the Bonus Expeditionary Force took over the streets,
abandoned federal buildings, and greenways in an effort to rally Congressional support for their
monetary bonus. However, joining the Bonus Marchers in Washington D.C. were known criminals,
socialistic, and communistic agitators. The veteran s efforts to secure the release of funds proved
unsuccessful and most of the marchers left the area without incident. However, communist agitators

Morality In Jack London s The Call Of The Wild
Jack London, in his book The call of the wild , portrays, that the strongest, smartest, and the one who
is not shy of compromising their morals in the wilderness, will always prosper. In this novel, Buck, the
protagonist, a Saint Bernard/ scotch shepherd mix, is taken from his home in California, and becomes
a sled dog , and eventually the lead sled dog, in Alaska. Buck is constantly learning about life in the
wild, about the law of club and fang, and how the man with the club is the top, and you do not fight
that. He also learns that the strong survive well when he kills Spitz. In the book, Buck always ate slow
and deliberately, but seeing another dog steal food, to get more, and being fed much less than he is
used to, he adapts this practice, against his own morals, and steals food. Later in the book, London
says that buck was now wise in the way of the club . This shows: In the call of the wild, buck learns
that only the strong and smart survive in the wild, and that unfortunately, to survive, sometimes, moral
integrity is compromised.
Midst this novel, the smart are the strong. During Buck s fight with the former lead dog; Spitz was
untouched, while Buck was streaming with blood and panting. It seems as if the battle will be soon be
over, due to the fact that: The fighting was getting desperate ... As buck grew winded, Spitz took to
rushing, and he kept him staggering for footing. Buck then realizes that his size, though larger than
Spitz, was no match for the

The Health Care Reform Act
The Health Care Reform Act was designed to benefit the citizens of the United States. Thanks to the
Affordable Care Act, 3.1 million more young adults have health insurance on their parent s plan, three
million seniors have received a 50 percent discount on their prescription drugs, and millions of
Americans now have access to no cost preventive services to help them stay healthy. Abusive
insurance practices are becoming a thing of the past. Additionally, the Affordable Care Act helps small
businesses with the cost of providing health insurance for their employees and helps doctors and other
health providers care for their patients more effectively.

3590) and the Health Care Education Reconciliation Act 2010 (H.R. 4872). When President Obama
signed these two bills, they became Public Law. The purpose of the ACA is to make health care more
accessible to all residents of the United States by three means: mandating all U.S. residents to select a
health insurance plan, forbidding insurers from denying coverage based on a pre existing condition,
and expanding program. The ACA states that the federal government will pay 100% of the cost of a
newly enrolled Medicaid participants until 2016 for all states that expand their Medicaid program up
to 138% of the federal poverty level and will pay90% by 2020 (Kincaid, 2013). Other concerns
include whether the federal government will give state enough flexibility to manage Medicaid
program, whether hospitals will receive adequate compensation to care for more patients and whether
the physician workforce can accommodate the increased demand for care (Kincaid, 2013). The ACA is
affected by two things, one is payments of hospitals and providers. The ACA does not provide fee for
service towards a bundled payment. This type of payment, a set amout is paid for all services rendered
and treatment related sickness. The ACA emphasizes pay per performance, meaning that the providers
will not receive payment based on the patient outcome. For example, if the patient has shown no
improvement there will be penalties. Also, there will be penalties if the patient has to be hospitalized

High School Sports Module Analysis
Do you ever, as an athlete, parent, or fan of Iowa high school sports, want to watch the state high
school sporting events? Because it is well known that the northwest corner of Iowa tends to field the
better sports teams and athletes of the state, typically there is usually quite a few teams representing
the area during the state tournament. When a local team or athlete makes it to state, a group of people
will either go and watch in person, or try to see if the event is being broadcasted on television. Often
the people that can t make the trip to watch in person, like local people, family members, or even high
school athletes themselves, will check if it is on television (Byers 1). Starting during the 2016 2017

That s a question I m sure many people had over the football, wrestling, and basketball state
tournament championships. I ll go into more detail about the CSN Chicago deal with the help of my
interview with Scott Byers. In order to watch the channel CSN Chicago, you need to either live in the
area that your local cable company offers it, or have Dish Network or DirecTV. Like I said earlier,
about 90% of the area that does offer the channel is in the eastern part of Iowa. So if you live on the
western side, and don t have either Dish Network or DirecTV, you are basically out of luck. The local
cable companies could get CSN Chicago into their package but with Northwest Iowa so far away from
Chicago, almost none in this area do. It makes sense not to get the channel only if you want it to watch
IHSAA state events. Scott Byers asked the head of the local cable company in Sioux Center about it
and he said picking up CSN Chicago for three years would cost his company well over a million
dollars. Instead of people on the Eastern side of Iowa, the Northwest Iowa people get to watch Fox
Sports North which shows the Minnesota teams like the Twins and Timberwolves. Next, people might
wonder if this really has to go on for the full three years. Well, I found that answer too in my
interview. Scott said, Most contracts can be broken, but it becomes a legal matter at that point and will
cost whatever the lawyers come up with in negotiations. Generally,

Advantages Of Traditional Public Administration
New Public Management is an alternative to the traditional public administration . Discuss.
ABSTRACT
The newly elected Government of Mauritius clearly laid down its ambitions regarding Public
Administration in the Government Programme 2015 2019. The public sector will be re organised and
reformed to make it more productive, transparent, accountable and customer friendly. A Public Sector
Efficiency Bureau is set up as a department of the newly crafted Ministry of Financial Services, Good
Governance and Institutional Reform (Govt. Programme 2015 19). If it sounded just as the usual
rhetoric from a new government, the 2015 2016 Budget Speech reiterated this determination after
finding out that the country s system for transparency and good governance to be also at the crossroad.
Instead of staying idle with the present system characterised by opacity that breeds corruption, the
government calls to go out for a cleansing that will inject more meritocracy, transparency, good
governance in the management of public affairs (Budget Speech, 2015). The Mauritian government
can be said to be moving away from the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

named New Public Management. This new approach lays the emphasis on the economy, efficiency

delivery. This new model of public sector management emerged in the most advanced countries, as
well as in many developing ones, and is regarded by many authors as not a reform of the traditional
Public administration, but a transformation of the public sector and its relationship with government

Quarter View
View of the Quarter Over the Christmas holidays I visited one of my favorite childhood restaurants in

helpful staff, and delectable New Orleans cuisine. The atmosphere of the entire restaurant popped the

Square. When I was escorted to the table, it was impossible to avoid noticing the glamorous mural of

Four Seasons is the world s leading operator of luxury hotels and resorts. They are well known not

Despite the success of four seasons, approach and philosophy, management knew that entering France
would be a challenge. I feel that how they entered was perfect. They entered in a very powerful
manner by deciding to manage the George V which is right in the middle of the French capital and is
the highest possible quality asset in the best location. They basically came in and took over and told
everyone how it is going to be run. They did respect a lot of the working hour rules, and the hours by a
window rules and stuff like. I really liked the aspect that they kept the hotel running like it always has
been even though in France they do things a lot differently with customer service. It was good that
they hired depending on the attitude. What we need is people who can adapt, either to guests from all
over the world or to operating a variety of countries. I like this because it says that the workers need to
adapt to the guests no matter where they are from because that is how the four seasons does it. If they
would of came into this situation any different, I feel that they would have been pushed out and the
hotel would of turned bad. They only bad thing I can come up with is that they did change a lot of the
culture around because the French are different on their customer service than Americans. They are

perfectly in the genre listed; bildungsromans. Huck finn fits perfect in the bildungsromans genre

determines what really is important and what is not important. So, they are able to achieve the things
they want to achieve. For example, they look into their financial status. They determine whether or not

Roulette is a casino game played in almost every casino, the most popular variants of Roulette are the
American roulette and French roulette. Roulette is played with a small ball and a roulette wheel. The
player bets on a certain number on the roulette table and if the ball ends on this number the player

Utopia By Thomas Moore s Utopia
Thomas Moore s Utopia appears to be a perfect society where everyone is treated fairly and equally.
However, Utopia is not as egalitarian as it appears. This can be determined through the implications
about and restraints placed on women. The attitude toward women in Utopia may have been seen as
acceptable in 1516, but in contrast with today s standards this approach in the book towards women is
misogynistic and oppressive. In Utopia, values are critical to the preservation of peace in society. Yet,
these values do not include fair and proper treatment of every individual. Utopia appears to be a land
of no persecution but women still suffer and are harassed through the societal standards pressed upon
them as a condition of their sex. While the land of Utopia at first appears to give more rights to
women than many countries did at the time, it becomes evident that the treatment of women and their
rights are not representative of the supposed egalitarian principles applauded in the novel.
There are multiple cases in Utopia where conflict is evident between the treatment of men and the
treatment of women. There are many moments in Utopia when it appears that the women are equal to
men, only to turn around and suggest they are not. One of these examples is when Raphael Hythloday
is discussing the terms and conditions of marriage, or rather, conditions prior to even the engagement.
He says that Whether she is a widow or a virgin, the women is shown naked to the suitor by a

The Mongols And The Mongol Empire
Melwin Varghese

Were the Mongols able to conquer such vast areas of land because of their superior battle tactics or
because of the tools and weapons the Mongols used?
I. Introduction
The Mongols were made up of many fierce tribes originating from the steppes of central Asia. They
were able to take over large parts of the known world in a matter of a few decades. The Mongol
empire was the greatest and largest continuous land empire the world has ever known. Relatively
shortly after Genghis Khan, leader of the Mongol forces, died, the huge Mongol empire split into four
Khanates that were ruled separately and independently. Ultimately these empires also failed after a
period of time but the Mongols had a long standing influence on numerous cultures not only of Asia
but also of the Western world.
Genghis Khan was the leader of the Mongol forces. Originally named Temujin, he gave himself the
name Genghis Khan. The Khan s name has many different translations and one of them is oceanic
sovereign (Jarus). He was a natural born tactician and conquered many great empires through clever,

Garibooli s Belonging In Home By Larissa Behrendt
Home written by Larissa Behrendt is a fictional account that portrays the experiences the Aboriginals
coped with in early Australian history. The novel follows the experiences of an aboriginal woman
named Garibooli and shows the repercussions of her life and how it effects those around her. The
novel explores a multitude of effects that a single event can have on an individual and the generations
to follow. Some of these effects include, grief, loss and the sense of belonging. Belonging is personal
and everyone deserves to belong and due to Garibooli and her children being of aboriginal descendant
in a predominately white society, they have difficulty finding their sense of belonging.
In the novel Home , Garibooli suffers at an early age ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Guidelines Of Guidelines On Policy Rules
Policy Rules For the purposes of being in line with my legal and ethical responsibilities, I would
construct my policy for sharing information with students by FERPA guidelines. While I would allow
the release of information in following FERPA regulations, I would strongly advise for counselors to
still be mindful when releasing information. I would suggest that they only release information with
their upmost discretion and for circumstances where not only FERPA permits, but that it also seems to
be of benefit for the student. As many of the guidelines state, the schools may release information in
certain circumstances, but they do not have to. This is what I would relay to my counselors.
Directly Releasing Information Directory information. The first policy rule would be that counselors
may release directory information if the student has been informed of the school s ability to release
that information and has not submitted a written objection. If the student has been made aware of the
type of information that the school determines to be directory and did not notify the school that he or
she did not agree to the release, then this directory information may be released. However, I would
still advise counselors to use their discretion and note if releasing this information to parents would
actually benefit the student. If it will not, then I would advise against releasing the information. I
would also encourage my counselors to always consult with FERPA when they are

Abstract This paper proposes a method for optimization of the harmonic performance of CHB inverter
under Selective Harmonic Elimination PWM modulation (SHEPWM) control. The proposed
optimization techniques are used to solve the set of non linear transcendental trigonometrical
equations. SHE were implemented to reduce the THD value. The set of non linear transcendental
equation is minimized by proposed Big Bang Big Crunch optimization technique. The proposed
topology is suitable for any number of levels. In this paper third, fifth, seventh and ninth level
harmonics have been eliminated. Simulation work is done in MATLAB software and experimental
results have been presented to validate the theory.

Personal Health Records Essay
Introduction
Increased public demand to access health information and growth of consumerism in health care
industry are two important reasons form increasing attention to Personal Health Records (PHRs) in the
recent years. Surveys show that a considerable number of people want to have access to their health
information. In one survey, 60 percent of respondents wanted physicians to provide online access to
medical records and test results, and online appointment scheduling; 1 in 4 said they would pay more
for the service.
Moreover, increasing costs of healthcare delivery and emerging trends toward patient empowerment
and patient centered care in order to achieve higher quality healthcare, needs patients to play a more
active role in their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For this reason, some experts think that the term Personal Health Record is not descriptive enough and
can limit innovation and usage of these systems. Personal Health Record Systems (PHRS) and
Personal Health Platforms (PHP) have been suggested as more appropriate terms.
Types of PHRs
From an architectural point of view, PHRs can be divided into four different types.
Stand alone PHR: This is the simplest form of a PHR that does not connect with any other system. The
data is usually entered manually by the patient. This type of PHR can be in the form of USB devices,
CDs, smart cards, desktop applications, or even web based applications that can be accessed through
the internet. Although this model of PHR gives patient complete control over data and seems more
secure as it has no connection to other systems, it lacks the reliability and usefulness and is not
considered a preferred model. Stand alone PHRs can only be considered computerized versions of
paper based health records the some people keep.
Provider tethered PHRs: In this model, PHR is developed and maintained by a healthcare provider,
insurer, or employer. The type of health information that is stored in these PHRs is affected by the
nature of the provider business. For instance, in PHRs that are offered by insurers, the content is
mostly administrative and billing in nature. In the case of healthcare providers, PHR would be a

The Tension between Argentina and Britian
Argentina and Britain have always had mild tension between them almost since the the independence
of Argentina, this main cause of tension has always been over the sovereignty of the Falkland Islands.
Britain first claimed sovereignty of the Islands in 1765 alongside France around approximately the
same time, however France transferred it s settlements to Spain in 1767. Britain left their settlement
on the Island in 1774 but claimed they never relinquished sovereignty. Spain also abandoned their
settlement later in 1811. (BBC News , 2013)
In 1820 an Argentine merchant, Luis Vernet, tried to established commercial settlements on the
islands. These settlements were not officially claimed by Argentina until 1828, when Luis Vernet
submitted his proposal for official recognition of his commercial settlement on Malvinas to become an
Argentine colony. The Argentine government, shortly after receiving the proposal, declared their claim
to the islands. (Lorton, 2012)
In 1833 the first conflict between Britain and Argentina occurred in regards to the islands. Britain had
returned to islands to expel the Argentine garrison, the British removed the Argentine flag flying on
the island and sent it back with their men to the mainland with a message, the British had found, a
foreign flag in the territory of His Majesty. (Lorton, 2012, p.g 151). The Argentine settlers on the
Island were allowed to remain alsong as the accepted British rule, however most settlers left gradually

The Patient Protection Affordable Care Act is Good for...
Like Benjamin Franklin once said, Words may show a man s wit, but actions his meaning , this is what
America is expecting from president Obama. Most people believe that the Patient Protection
Affordable Care Act (PPACA) violates the United States Constitution, and it should be eradicated.
This law was implemented to help people acquire affordable health insurance; therefore, it is
important to the people whom have preexisting conditions, and the American government is
confronting medical legal and ethical issues like elective abortion. President Obama s intention to
provide affordable health insurance for all U.S. citizens is a noble act. However, there are mixed

This act gives the American people rights and benefits. For example: it will provide health coverage to
adults and children with preexisting conditions, it will end lifetime and annual limits on health care
policies, it will allow adults under the age of twenty six to be carried by their parent s health
insurance, and it will provide preventive service access without cost.
The intentions of the PPACA are to provide coverage to uninsured people, to lower health care cost, to
have a better system in order to stop fraud, and to stop health insurance companies to deny coverage
due to pre existing medical conditions. Richard Sorian, Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs says,
Since of the launch of the Health Care Fraud Prevention and Enforcement Action Team (HEAT) task
force in 2009, over 670 defendants have been charged for attempting to defraud Medicare of more
than $1.3 billion taxpayer dollars. And we are continuing to use our resources to stop each instance of
health care fraud before payments are sent out the door (June 2011, Para. 1, 2) . In order for this
process to be successful we need to do our part to stop criminals. For example: we need to protect our
Medicare and Social Security number, do not divulge Medicare number for medical equipment or
services not needed, and do not let other borrow Medicare ID card. The most common type of fraud is

Surface Breakdown
Dirt, sand and grit are the primary enemies of hardwood floors. These common household ingredients
especially if you have kids around, act as deadly sandpaper on the finish of your floors.
Sweeping, vacuuming and dust mopping are essential to maintaining your floors and to keep them
looking like new and in great shape. Brooms with ends that have frayed tips are the best for picking up
bits of sand and dirt on the floor. Dust mopping is effective as well. If you use a spray on the mop
head, it is advisable to spray the mop head the night before for added effectiveness.
Types of Wood Floor Finishes
There are two types of finishes: surface finishes and penetrating seals. Determining the type of seal
will help you determine how to maintain your floors. Surface finishes include polyurethane (the most
common), water based polyurethane (second most common), pre finished floors, and catalyzed.
Penetrating seals includes oil finishes, acrylics and waxes. Surface finishes are usually shiny finishes
and penetrating seals are generally satin or matte. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ash, beech, cherry, hickory and walnut are also commonly used.
Never, ever use ammonia on these finishes! Ammonia will weaken, soften and whiten the finishes on
wood floors. Bleach is another chemical you will want to avoid putting on your wood floors.
The Process for Wood Floor Stain Removal
General staining can be repaired by using the following procedure:
1. Sand the stained area one to two layers of finish off of the board. It would be better to sand the
entire board for a better finish.
2. Remove the dust from the area to keep it from mixing into the refinishing process.
3. Lightly reapply the same finish twice. Do not over apply or you will build up more than you have
removed.
4. If this does not take care of the stain, the entire board will need to be refinished or replaced.

The Widow s Sorrow
Sorrow is life as life is sorrow. Sorrow discriminate no one and affects everyone. From the loss of
innocent to the loss of life, sorrow is man s best friend as it is an enemy, but with sorrow, there comes
hope for rejuvenation with the change of seasons. William Carlos Williams closely analyzes sorrow a
dead partner creates in his poem The Widow s Lament in the Springtime with his naturalistic imagery
to depict the movement of sorrow through time. First with the dead of a loved one, Williams employs
fiery imagery to portray the personal sorrow of the widow. While she may experience sorrow before,
the new sorrow became [her] own yard (Williams 1) that is always with her. As life is full of sorrow,

The image of the forest represent the widow s desire to escape from her dire situation and travel back

Jean Louise s Settings
In Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee, the settings play a huge role in developing the main character,
Jean Louise, and her conflict as she tries to discover who she truly is. The story is set in the mid 1950
s in Maycomb, Alabama, where Jean Louise grew up. She says about Maycomb that everything I
learned about human decency I learned here (178). This shows how Maycomb molded her into the
person she is. At the time of the story, however, she is living in New York City. It is the total opposite
of Maycomb, for it is a big city with a lot more diversity and acceptance of different races. When
asked about how she views all the different races she sees in New York City, she says, You aren t
aware of them. You work with them, eat by and with them, ride the buses with them, and you aren t
aware of them unless you want to be (151). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One woman in Maycomb even said, I wouldn t want to get mixed up with all those Italians and Puerto
Ricans. In a drugstore one day I looked around and there was a Negro woman eating her dinner right

girl in Maycomb and how different it is from New York City. When she returns to Maycomb, she is
forced to stand up for herself and what she knows is right because no one else believes the same thing.
Even her father has fallen into the trap of feeling like he is superior to African Americans despite the
fact that when Jean Louise was growing up, he was known for his Integrity, humor, and patience and
for being fair and equal (114). Because the town has become so racist and segregated, everyone is

In Tennyson s poem The Charge of the Light Brigade, tells about the charge on the English army to go
recuperate weaponry that their adversary stole, so they charge into valley of Death knowing they could
die due to fact they do not have weapons. The captain make an order can no one dare to make a reply ,
to reason why , but to die and to die. When we read the first line, a reasonable comment should be that
those soldiers are foolish to go to war even though they know that they will fail or rather die.
However, for Tennyson it is not the case, this charge is patriotic and of common sense when their
glory fade? He even congratulates them for their act Honour the light Brigade. We thus see for
Tennyson die for one country, whether the circumstances, is a good thing to do. In addition, for
Kipling s poem If who is more sentimental pass through the advice of father to his son and assumption
in which one is required to take action in honor of the country. He clearly incites Englishmen to enlist

incites the English to go colonize and reign on India. Yours is the Earth and everything that s in it.
Contrary to other works of Kipling as Wee Willie Winkee and The One Who Will Be King wherein he
seemed to sympathize and want peace to the Indians, in If we no longer see this noble wish but the
domination. In McCrae s poem In Flanders Field, appears to states two point of view. One Is that
enemy went on a village and kill people, so he incites the people on village to go revenge them by
being a soldier. Hence, he had the same idea as Kipling and Tennyson to incite people fight for tee
country. Second, perspective conversely to the former poem hitherto is that in which way the people in

In conclusion truck 3 is the newest truck, 1 year and 9 months old, but it has the lowest income earned
per round trip and a high fuel and maintenance cost.
Therefore truck 3 is the least profitable of the three trucks.
Question 5
What advice would you give Jimmy so that he can maintain effective control over his trucks in the
future?
Answer
For Jimmy to maintain effective control over his trucks the following is advised:
His trucks need to be maintained regular and on time in order to extend its lifespan and to ensure
effective use of the trucks in order to generate maximum profit.
He must check the millage travelled on each round trip
Jimmy must install tracking devices on each truck to keep track of where the truck is at all times.
The tracking device will help to make sure that the trucks are not misused or abused by the drivers.
The tracking device will also give control over the number of hours of each round trip.
He must make sure that the trucks are properly insured against theft, accidents etc.
Jimmy must make sure that there are proper recording of each truck:

Is there a morally important difference between killing...
The medical profession functions on the assumption that there is a pertinent moral difference between
killing someone and letting someone die. In this essay I will provide differing philosophical
perspectives on the matter before offering my own opinion.
There are a number of different terms applied to the concepts of killing someone and letting someone
die. Typically, these are: active and passive euthanasia and voluntary and involuntary euthanasia.
Active euthanasia, sometimes referred to as positive euthanasia, involves a deliberate act, such as
lethal injection, that brings about death to a person. On the other hand, passive or negative euthanasia
is conventionally said to be the omission of an act. For example, when a doctor ... Show more content

Themes of honour, marriage and courtly love are prominent in the Franklin s tale. Moreover, it is these
very themes that invoke a sense of preceding Breton Lays . The various themes are utilised in a
conflicting manner and serve to accentuate intrinsic flaws contained within that particular medieval
society of the gentils in which the story is set. For example, an illustration of conflicting private and
public spheres are emphasised by the aforementioned themes and notably demonstrated in Dorigen s
plight. She is faced with a dilemma: maintain her vows made in marriage to Arveragus or fulfil a
promise, made in pity, to her dogged and unwanted suitor Aurelius. The decision is, to all intents and
purposes, made for her by external forces. Although Dorigen is higher than her husband in the societal
hierarchy, she is obliged to conform to public conventions and obey him, despite being of equal
stature within the marriage. Add to this the notion that she is part of a society whereby honour or
keeping to one s word is, arguably, the most important value a person can have and it becomes
increasingly clear that any decision on the matter is not really hers to make. Consequently, Dorigen is
privately persuaded by her

Quality Improvement Initiative Falls Management Program
Quality Improvement Initiative Falls Management Program in Nursing Homes
Falls are very common among nursing home residents. Residents in nursing homes are more likely to
fall due to their age, chronic health conditions, medication, or change in the environment after
admission to the facility. The people who provide care every day in nursing homes know firsthand
how critical falling can be to the health of the residents they care for. Fall prevention is critical in
order to decrease falls in nursing homes. There are programs that are designed to help nursing home
staff members identify the reason for resident fall. These programs give a preventive measure that
assures accuracy and sensitivity of patients risk from falling. The Falls Management Program (FMP)
is one of these programs. The Falls Management Program (FMP) is a multifaceted quality
improvement initiative that is designed to assist nursing homes, it includes assessment, individualized
care planning, resident monitoring, and the elimination of environmental safety hazards (Taylor, J.,

through educational, staff training and quality improvement tools and ongoing consultation by

Lynching was a terrible epidemic during the 1920 s and 30 s. Lynching is (of a Mob) kill ( someone),

Choosing an Intervention
Projects requiring a training intervention usually have to do with a performance. I used as a reference
a similar intervention from Kentucky Virtual Schools hybrid program since I would like to analyze
step by steps the procedures to obtain the expected outcomes. Training intervention is the method I
choose because it complies with the procedures I want to present at SUAGM (Sistema Universitario

Professional development
According to the intervention training in the study, change started with professional development; it
was guided by instruction specialists and used an online professional development program for
algebra I teachers, as well as other resources. The program was intended to improve both the algebra I
content knowledge and research based instructional practices. It begun with orientation and instruction
in a hybrid format before moving to a distance format. The teachers received online training sessions
with the purpose to share their successes and challenges to improve their understanding, and ability to
implement recommended instruction practices.
In my project, the professional development will include offering training to both instructors and
bilingual adult students. I can talk with property about the sessions since I have been helping as
instructional curriculum designer; participating of the evaluation and selection of the instructors, and
offering courses online and in traditional setting to level staff, teachers, and students. For instance,
some of the offered courses to the instructors are introduction to Blackboard 9.1; searching,
evaluation, and selecting internet resources; collaboration online with Microsoft Office live
workspace; instructional design, and Web 2.0 tools.

Analysis Of The Book The Catcher Of The Rye
Ackley is a minor character in the novel the Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger. One of Ackley s main
attributes is his rudeness because He was exactly the kind of a guy that wouldn t get out of your light
when you asked him to, (Salinger, 21). He (Ackley) is also nosy; He always picked up your stuff and
looked at it, (Salinger, 20). A few other attributes of Ackley s are his unhygienic persona that has ... a
lot of pimples. Not just on his forehead... but all over his whole face. And not only that, he had a
terrible personality, (Salinger, 19). Ultimately Ackley deeply despised Stradlater and was always
keeping tabs on Stradlater...even though he hated Stradlater s guts, (Salinger, 23). The Cather in the
Rye is written in first person and second person point of view. The narrator starts of the story with
this: IF YOU REALLY want to hear about it, the first thing you ll want to know is where I was born,
and what my lousy childhood was like, and all that David Copperfield kind of crap, but I don t feel
like going into it, if you want to know the truth. Here, the narrator, also known as Holden Caulfield,
uses words like I , and my which coincide directly to that which defines what first person point of
view is but also uses words like you , indicating the narrator is speaking directly to the reader, which
also defines the definition of second person point of view. Phoebe is Holden Caulfield kid sister. She
[Phoebe] has this sort of red hair...that was very short

Kobe vs Lebron
When it comes to basketball, many people off the top of the head say Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson.
Many people think that Kobe Bryant is one of the greatest or they say LeBron James. Which LeBron
is just not there in the way Kobe is there now. Kobe Bryant came in the game as a young one he came
straight out of high school, just like LeBron James, Kobe was drafted to the charlotte hornets but was
traded to the L.A Lakers. Within his first year he was known around the league as a high flyer, also
winning the slam dunk contest. Just by this alone Kobe is way ahead of LeBron, but there is more to
this story that just meets the eye. Kobe Bryant has set more records than LeBron, but Kobe has been in
the league longer than LeBron. Kobe ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And at this rate he will make it in the nba hall of fame and still be playing in the nba. Which LeBron
won t be able to do he will be old and retired before you know it and then he will be in the hall of
fame. But when it comes down to it Kobe will always be better than LeBron at everything he does.
Now that LeBron has a good team that he plays with now he still is not having the best outcome. Kobe
has to battle all of these teams with all these super star teams and he is over coming all of these
obstacles. People will always argue about these two till the day that lebron proves that he has the right
mind set to win a championship and grow up on the court. With the team he has now he should be set
to win back to back championships but until he get pasted his self s ways he will never be able to win
a championship. Kobe has put in his work and showed us all that he has the right mind set to win a
championship. With the facts that I have provided shows that kobe is way better than

Essay on Missouri s Nonpartisan Selection of Judges Court...
During the 1930 s, the community became more and more displeased with the growing role of politics
in judicial selection and judicial decision making. Judges were inundated by outside pressures due to
the political features of the election process, and dockets were overcrowded due to time the judges
spent campaigning. In November 1940, voters amended the Missouri constitution by adopting the
Nonpartisan Selection of Judges Court Plan. This plan was placed on the ballot by initiative petition.
The acceptance of the plan by initiative referendum resulted from a public repercussion against the
widespread abuses of the judicial system by the political machine in Kansas City and by the political
control exhibited by ward bosses in St. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals, the Appellate Judicial Commission makes the choice. It
is made up of three lawyers selected by members of the Missouri Bar, three citizens chosen by the
governor, and the chief justice, who is the chair. Each of the three geographic districts of the Court of
Appeals must be represented by one lawyer and one citizen member on the Appellate Judicial
Commission. Each of the circuit courts in Clay, Greene, Jackson, Platte, and St. Louis Counties, and
the city of St. Louis has its own circuit judicial commission. These commissions are made up of the
chief judge of the court of appeals district, in which the circuit is positioned, in addition to two
lawyers chosen by the bar and two citizens chosen by the governor. All of the lawyers and citizens
must live inside the circuit for which they serve the judicial commission (Missouri Nonpartisan Court
Plan, n.d.). The nonpartisan plan gives the voters an opportunity to have a say in the retention of
judges chosen under the plan. Once a judge has served in office for at least one year, that judge must
stand for a retention election during the next general election. The judge s name is placed on a
separate judicial ballot, with no political party designation, and voters decide whether to retain the
judge based on his or her judicial record. A judge must get a majority of votes to be kept for a full

  • 2. Cover Contest Reflection In the summer of 2016, I decided to enter the Luzerne county fair s guide cover contest. I came across a problem, however; I missed the deadline and would need to wait till next year. The purpose of the ACA is to make health care more accessible to all residents of the United States by three means: mandating all U.S. residents to select a health insurance plan, forbidding insurers from denying coverage based on a pre existing condition, and expanding program. The ACA states that the federal government will pay 100% of the cost of a newly enrolled Medicaid participants until 2016 for all states that expand their Medicaid program up to 138% of the federal poverty level and will pay90% by 2020 (Kincaid, 2013). The ACA is affected by two things, one is payments of hospitals and providers. The ACA does not provide fee for service towards a bundled payment. I ll go into more detail about the CSN Chicago deal with the help of my interview with Scott Byers. In order to watch the channel CSN Chicago, you need to either live in the area that your local cable company offers it, or have Dish Network or DirecTV. Like I said earlier, about 90% of the area that does offer the channel is in the eastern part of Iowa. So if you live on the western side, and don t have either Dish Network or DirecTV, you are basically out of luck. The local cable companies could get CSN Chicago into their package but with Northwest Iowa so far away from Chicago, almost none in this area do. It makes sense not to get the channel only if you want it to watch IHSAA state events. Scott Byers asked the head of the local cable company in Sioux Center about it and he said picking up CSN Chicago for three years would cost his company well over a million dollars. Instead of people on the Eastern side of Iowa, the Northwest Iowa people get to watch Fox Sports North which shows the Minnesota teams like the Twins and Timberwolves. Next, people might wonder if this really has to go on for the full three years. Well, I found that answer too in my interview. • 21. Utopia By Thomas Moore s Utopia Thomas Moore s Utopia appears to be a perfect society where everyone is treated fairly and equally. However, Utopia is not as egalitarian as it appears. This can be determined through the implications about and restraints placed on women. The attitude toward women in Utopia may have been seen as acceptable in 1516, but in contrast with today s standards this approach in the book towards women is misogynistic and oppressive. In Utopia, values are critical to the preservation of peace in society. Yet, these values do not include fair and proper treatment of every individual. Utopia appears to be a land of no persecution but women still suffer and are harassed through the societal standards pressed upon them as a condition of their sex. While the land of Utopia at first appears to give more rights to women than many countries did at the time, it becomes evident that the treatment of women and their rights are not representative of the supposed egalitarian principles applauded in the novel. There are multiple cases in Utopia where conflict is evident between the treatment of men and the treatment of women. There are many moments in Utopia when it appears that the women are equal to men, only to turn around and suggest they are not. I. Introduction The Mongols were made up of many fierce tribes originating from the steppes of central Asia. They were able to take over large parts of the known world in a matter of a few decades. The Mongol empire was the greatest and largest continuous land empire the world has ever known. Relatively shortly after Genghis Khan, leader of the Mongol forces, died, the huge Mongol empire split into four Khanates that were ruled separately and independently. Genghis Khan was the leader of the Mongol forces. Originally named Temujin, he gave himself the name Genghis Khan. The Khan s name has many different translations and one of them is oceanic sovereign (Jarus). He was a natural born tactician and conquered many great empires through clever, crafty, and many times cruel ways to beat the enemy. Genghis Khan died shortly before he was about to start a campaign against China and the Shin Empire. By Genghis Khan s death, the Mongol Empire stretched from China all the way to Egypt. Guidelines Of Guidelines On Policy Rules Policy Rules For the purposes of being in line with my legal and ethical responsibilities, I would construct my policy for sharing information with students by FERPA guidelines. While I would allow the release of information in following FERPA regulations, I would strongly advise for counselors to still be mindful when releasing information. I would suggest that they only release information with their upmost discretion and for circumstances where not only FERPA permits, but that it also seems to be of benefit for the student. As many of the guidelines state, the schools may release information in certain circumstances, but they do not have to. This is what I would relay to my counselors. Directly Releasing Information Directory information. The first policy rule would be that counselors may release directory information if the student has been informed of the school s ability to release that information and has not submitted a written objection. If the student has been made aware of the type of information that the school determines to be directory and did not notify the school that he or she did not agree to the release, then this directory information may be released. However, I would still advise counselors to use their discretion and note if releasing this information to parents would actually benefit the student. If it will not, then I would advise against releasing the information. I would also encourage my counselors to always consult with FERPA when they are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For this reason, some experts think that the term Personal Health Record is not descriptive enough and can limit innovation and usage of these systems. Personal Health Record Systems (PHRS) and Personal Health Platforms (PHP) have been suggested as more appropriate terms. Types of PHRs From an architectural point of view, PHRs can be divided into four different types. Stand alone PHR: This is the simplest form of a PHR that does not connect with any other system. The data is usually entered manually by the patient. This type of PHR can be in the form of USB devices, CDs, smart cards, desktop applications, or even web based applications that can be accessed through the internet. Although this model of PHR gives patient complete control over data and seems more secure as it has no connection to other systems, it lacks the reliability and usefulness and is not considered a preferred model. Stand alone PHRs can only be considered computerized versions of paper based health records the some people keep. Provider tethered PHRs: In this model, PHR is developed and maintained by a healthcare provider, insurer, or employer. The type of health information that is stored in these PHRs is affected by the nature of the provider business. For instance, in PHRs that are offered by insurers, the content is mostly administrative and billing in nature. In the case of healthcare providers, PHR would be a customized view of ...
