How To Write A Great Narrative Essay
Writing an essay on the intricacies of crafting a great narrative essay is no easy task. The
challenge lies not only in conveying the essential steps and techniques but also in capturing the
essence of storytelling itself. The complexity arises from the need to seamlessly blend structure,
creativity, and a deep understanding of the narrative art.
To begin with, one must grapple with the delicate balance between plot development and
character arcs, ensuring that the story unfolds naturally and captivates the reader from start to
finish. Selecting the right narrative voice is another hurdle, as it sets the tone and perspective that
will guide the reader through the essay's narrative landscape.
Moreover, crafting engaging and relatable characters requires a keen understanding of human
nature and the ability to infuse authenticity into fictional personas. Developing a compelling
plotline demands not only creativity but also a structured approach to build tension, climax, and
resolution in a coherent manner.
Beyond the creative aspects, the technicalities of essay writing must also be meticulously
handled. Attention to detail is crucial in crafting well-structured paragraphs, maintaining a
logical flow, and ensuring that each sentence contributes to the overall coherence of the
narrative. Striking the right balance between description and brevity poses yet another challenge,
as excessive detail can overwhelm the reader while insufficient elaboration may leave them
disconnected from the narrative.
In essence, writing an essay on "How To Write A Great Narrative Essay" demands a fusion of
artistic creativity and meticulous craftsmanship. It involves navigating through the nuances of
storytelling, honing writing skills, and presenting a guide that is not only instructive but also
exemplifies the principles it espouses.

Why I Want A Wife
Writing is a form of art, and like a painting two people are able to look at the
painting and give different interpretations of what they see, and the same is goes for
writing. The author paints the reader a picture with words they use. some artist are
better than others in the same way that some writers are better at expressing
themselves than others. An example of an author that is able to paint a picture into
the reader s mind is Judy Brady in her writing Why I Wanta Wife. She is able to
captivate the reader into her writing by sparking an interest in what she has to say
next. However, looking into her writing, the reader is easily able to see the flaws in
her words. She over uses repetition, transitions points poorly, is over stereotypical,
makes illogical claims, and is overly insensitive.
It is often said in order for a person to retain information they need to read the given
information at least three times. In Why I Want a Wife Brady definitely wants the
reader to remember her purpose, because she repeats the phrase I want a wife
twenty six times her short two page essay. Too much repetition can create a
ludicrous effect (Grammar). From the Title the reader already knows that she
wants a wife and does not need to be told another sixteen times. The purpose for
repeating may have been for added emphasis, but this repetition was interpreted as
more of poor word choice. She may have been more persuasive if she used different
ways to express the same idea

The science of Star Wars is book written by Jeanne Cavelos, it tries to link the
content of the Star Wars trilogies with modern science. It offers the readers the
plausibility of the phenomena that occurs in the world of Star Wars. The book is
divided into five chapters excluding the introduction. She proceeds from
environments to aliens and androids to spaceships and weapons to end with a chapter
on The Force .
The first Chapter is called Planetary Environments. It has four essays and seven
section, sections headings include You Can t Have an Empire without Real Estate
and The Bright Center of the Universe and A Planet a Day Keeps the Empire Away
etc. The topics she covers in this chapter includes things like formation of planets, ...

The Dawn of Wookiee tells us about which bi and quadrupedalisms are assessed and
raises questions about why Wookiees originally lived in trees. The section Slugfest
characterizes Jabba the Hutt and the predator space slug and what its diet would
probably be. When Teddy Bears have their Picnic reviews the physiological and
psychological characteristics of koalas, chimpanzees and Ewoks, and Did You
Leave Your Headlights On? describes and evaluates Jawas and Sand People, optics,
Photoreceptors and Bioluminescence. There is one significant point, that it is highly
unlikely for aliens from different planets to survive in a single environment such as
the Mos Eisley cantina. Example, Jabba being a slug supposedly moves using a
mavelike motion by creating a coating of secreted slime, but in the 1997 version of
the Episode IV, Jabba is seen easily moving around in the xerophytic environment of
Tatooine where he should in fact be desiccating.
The third chapter of the book is named Droids and is comprised of eight topics and
two essays. The section Wheels or Legs assesses the relationship between body
shape, coordination and locomotive capabilities of the droids. While the section I,
Droid delves into the subjects of neural networks, rule based vs. case based
intelligence systems and memory wipes. The other sections in this chapter include

Potassium Research Paper
Introduction:
Potassium is a mineral found inside body cells. It is one of several minerals known
as electrolytes. These minerals (potassium, sodium, and chloride) are found in the
fluids inside of body cells (intracellular) and outside the cells (extracellular).
Functions: Potassium is important in human body because it helps:
Maintain water balance and acid base balance along with sodium
Muscles contract, including maintaining a normal heartbeat
Transmit nerve impulses
Maintain normal blood pressure
Maintain healthy bones.

Finally, changes in body potassium may not be a concern if you do not have risk

conditions that affect levels should be monitored regularly. Call your doctor if you
experience any unusual symptoms. how much of each mineral you need depends
on your age and gender. There is no perfect food with all the vitamins and minerals.
You need in just the right amounts. Remember, real food contains healthy things
which a pill cannot give us. When we take a nutrient out of a food and concentrate
it in a pill, it is not quite the same thing. Be sure to consider your individual
situation and consult a doctor or an RDN before considering supplements.
Therefore, the best way to get all the daily vitamins and minerals you need is to eat
a balanced diet that contains a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, fortified dairy foods,

Comparing Pulp Fiction, Breathless, And Old
Pulp Fiction, Breathless, and Old Boyп»їп»їп»їп»їп»ї п»їhave each had strong and
impactful ways of shaping the crime genre of films. They had done this by
implementing their own creativity within each of the films to bring a new light to
the genre. Each director was not afraid to step outside of the boundaries of the genre
and, as a result, created multiple different approaches to the crime genre of films.
For example, with Breathless we, as the audience, got a different side of the story
that we never came to consider before: The damsel in distress or love interests side.
Before movies like Breathless we never got the full experience of the possibilities
that could arise from being caught in an affair with someone that s on the run. As a
result we were enticed with seeing the other side of the story. One in which the bad
guys actually have a more complicated love interest instead of slapping it on at the
end. An example of this is when Michel and Patricia are staying at the hotel for the
night. The dialogue and relationship there begins with Michael being a jerk about

This is perfectly executed with the switching of scenes from cleaning out the car after
they accidentally shooting Marvin, Bretts associate, to Jules Winnfield and Vincent

gets us to sink into their world and focus on their issues. Yet, once we are through that
scene, we are put into a normal scene of them in the diner talking about life and their
futures. One of the biggest criticisms directors can get is making an atmosphere that
is paper thin and not attractive, but with Tarantino s brilliant execution on the film
Pulp Fiction does the opposite of this as it enraptures us into the world that he had
Before I Came To The Rca And To London, I Worked As A
Textile
Before I came to the RCA and to London, I worked as a textile designer specialising
in the design of men s ties in Seoul, South Korea. My business was relatively small
and I enjoyed making bespoke textiles for my customers. Over time, I got to know
my customers well, and tried to base my designs on this personal knowledge. I
wanted the ties to be more than just mere physical objects; instead I wanted to imbue
them with an emotional attachment that reflected the relationship between me and
my customers and my knowledge of their lives and personalities. I began talking to
my customers and noticed that unconsciously my designs were becoming more
dialogical2, a graphical representation of the conversations and stories we shared.

The new research raises the question of ethical silk, made without the destruction of
the moth within the cocoon, and the ethics of employment practices within the silk
manufacturing industry today.
The majority of mass production generates pollution, which causes climate change.
In an era of fast fashion, mass produced textile waste has continued to grow4.
According to the report Valuing our Clothes , extending the average life of clothes
by only three months of active use would lead to a five to ten per cent reduction in
each of the carbon, water and waste footprints; around 350,000 tonnes of used
clothing ends up in landfill in the UK every year5.
Waste is not just a UK problem. Dongdaemoon market is the biggest fashion and
textiles market in South Korea. Many young designers work there but follow fashion
trends rather than creating their own unique designs. About 20 tonnes of fabric waste
is generated per day. Seoul city authorities estimate that it collects about 5,000 tonnes
of waste resources, such as fabric and banners, per year from the
Dongdaemoon market.6

Canad The World s Oldest History
The world and its features we see surrounding us today have not been the same
throughout all of time . A lot of people believe that the way the Earth looks today is
the way it has looked since the beginning. This belief is far from true. The Earth has
a history that has evolved over time just like everything else. We can view the history
by examining the Earths crust in areas. The region of the Earth that is presently
known as Canada has the world s oldest history which makes it unique. Throughout
this paper I will discuss how the area known as Canada became what it is. Geologyis

properties. The way that geologists are able to figure out the... Show more content on

The shield that is located in Canada is the most famous shield because it is the
oldest. The shield is the only area of rock that is as old as the Earth itself. This means
that the rock formations located within the shield are 4.6 billion years old. No other
area of the Earth s crust is this old because of the rock cycle. The rock cycle basically
recycles the existing crust and turns it into new crust. This process starts with areas
that are known as subduction zones. These subduction zones consist of one tectonic
plate submerging underneath another tectonic plate. As the plate becomes subducted
from tectonic movement, it breaks down and turns into magma. In some situations
the crust that has now been turned into magma relocates to an area known as a hot
spot. Hot spots are areas underneath the surface of the Earth that are filled with
magma. As the pressure in these hot spots rises, the magma begins to work its way
upward until it reaches the surface and forms new crust. This event usually takes
place in the ocean which results in the formation of new oceanic crust. As time goes
on this oceanic crust moves closer to the continents, then eventually becomes
continental crust. As even more time passes, the continental crust begins to move
upward forming what we know today as mountain ranges. Once the mountain ranges
are formed, the cycle starts over because the mountains begin to erode and eventually

An Outsider In The Outsiders
The Outsiders is one of the themes in the story. Looking at life as an outsider and
the feeling of being treated as an outsider is a point of view. Someone who always
feels like an outsider might believe that life is unfair. We as teenagers tend consider
ourselves to be grown ups already, but in reality we are still under the control of
others and this loss of control leads to the feeling that life isn t fair. For example,
Ponyboy understands that he is not safe walking the streets alone because he could
be attacked by the way he is dressed; this makes him feel like an outsider in his own
town. Ponyboy sees unfairness every day. With his parents being dead, Darry is
forced to work two jobs to support the brothers, while Soda has dropped out... Show

Family connections tend to be difficult, but in the Ponyboy`s family, the right to
stay together is a nonstop conflict. Since their parents death, Darry has taken the
responsibility of guardianship for Pony and Soda, and under that pressure he
seems way older than he really is. He no longer views the two boys as siblings, but
more as a responsibility. Darry sees Ponyboy s potential and has high expectations
for him, but Ponyboy complains that Darry is a stricter than his father. Although by
the end of the book he understands Darry. Gang relationships are included in the
theme of family. Ponyboy s gang members need the support and security that they
find in the gang. The home life circumstances that these boys find themselves in
are usually abusive. They have resort to the gang for the care and support that
should have come from parents. Johnny is painfully aware of the difference
between the gang and a family and through him Pony begins to understand how
lucky he is to have a caring family. The third major theme that runs through The
Outsiders is the use of a black and white world. People have a tendency to embrace
each other and events as absolutes. For example, The characters in The Outsiders are

Finding Fitra Is A Character Driven Drama
FINDING FITRA is a character driven drama that centers on a Muslim gay teen and
his struggle to tell others. Strong themes about rejection, tolerance, and acceptance
help drive the plot.
What sets this story apart from other coming out stories is that the protagonist, is
both Muslim and gay. Not only does he have to deal with his own sexuality, he also
has to deal with his faith. This makes for a solid hook.
The goal for Hashim is an emotional, inner goal. As he tries to come to terms, he s
confronted with some moral choices.
The concept of the script has merit and it s a relevant topic. It addresses a social
need to help other gay Muslims, who might find one s self in the same moral
dilemma. Thus, while there are plenty of strengths to build upon, the script would
benefit from more development.
The story opens with the protagonist clearly stating the problem. He s making a
video. It s a rather mild opening. The story then transitions back in time to tell his
story.
The current presentation feels more like it s made for a TV movie. There s nothing
wrong with that, but one can envision a stronger, more compelling storyline.
The current structure s pace is rather slow and the tension is rather mild. There are
events in the script like the make over that feel out of place.
There are also two competing goals. The story sets up the idea that his family is
arranging a marriage for him. This is actually very smart. It seems that this ticking
clock will drive the story
The Pros And Cons Of Social Responsibility
Aside from the billions in buy backs, billions on fines, Volkswagen has still not
recovered in the two years since with their stock price still below that of before the
scandal. This goes to show that corporate social responsibility is taken more
earnestly, now more than ever, and that it is in companies best interests to be ethical
in their responsibilities.
Stakeholder interests are postulated to be vital to any successful business, managers
should directly and clearly take into consideration their stakeholder s interests and
needs, aiming to accomplish them through various company strategies
(Theodoulidis, B. Et al. 2017). Sourcing responsibly is an integral focus for many
companies applying corporate social responsibilities, the relations they have with
down the line suppliers and farmers have profound impacts upon those workers, the
company, its branding and society at large. Companies like Starbucks show that by
acting sustainably and sourcing responsibly a company doesn t not have to sacrifice
profit or market domination. CSR takes the stakeholder theory in the direction that is
best for all involved, it aids supplier and farmers, supports the shareholders and
allows the company to prosper.
A companies drive for social responsibility can be out of passion, for their brand
image, purely for profits or any mix of motives, wether this pursuit is ethic, the
actions of social responsibility are. While some argue that a business must first and
foremost put its profits
Kevlar Leather Jacket Pros And Cons
Introduction
In the decades since I first climbed on top of a motorcycle, I have seen a lot of
changes. Riding partners have come and gone, laws have evolved, and the public s
perception of bikers has, thankfully, improved. The biking community is in a state of
perpetual change, just like the world around it, but one thing remains constant:
leather jackets. Both stylish and secure, leather has been relied upon by bikers
throughout history to keep them safe from the elements and protect them during falls
and crashes.
The leather jacket is as synonymous with motorcycles as two wheels and an engine,
but an increasing number of bikers are leaving behind their leather jackets in favor of
alternatives of a different material, such as mesh or Kevlar. Some readers may be
unfamiliar with the latter, which hasn t received as much publicity as some other
protective materials, but if Kevlar motorcycle jackets can gain global attention, it is
quite possible they can dethrone their leather opponents.
But what exactly does a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Leather jackets tend to offer very poor ventilation, even when they are fitted with
mesh vents. If you live in a cold climate, this likely won t be a problem, but those
who attempt to ride in a leather motorcycle jacket during warmer months will be
putting themselves at risk of heat stroke.
Cruel
As the world becomes increasingly more mindful, the cruelty associated with leather
jackets becomes a bigger and bigger problem. Leather, as most of us know but do our
best to ignore, is made from the skin of animals, most commonly cows. Killing
animals for the sake of clothing is, admittedly, pretty horrendous, and many animal
loving bikers have moved on to textile motorcycle jackets while actively campaigning
against leather protective equipment.

Tolson was an African American writing trying to gain fame during a time when
white males were the only people who were revered, so Tolson was categorized as
a poet, and because of such, his greatest works haven t been realized until just
recently (Ramazani 590). Eliot on the other hand, was also categorized many
times during his career. According to the Norton Anthology of Modern and
Contemporary Poetry, its made clear that Eliot later in his life tried to pursue
deracination further , giving credence to the fact that he didn t want to be
stereotyped in any way. He was a foreigner because he was living in London,
especially during a time when a world war was occurring, he was labelled a waste
of talent by his father and he even was considered psychologically unstable after
suffering from a mental breakdown in 1921 (Ramazani 461). Knowing that each
author was critically categorized for a large chunk of their lives, we can see why
each author tried to destroy not only the categorization of people, but paradigms in
general, such as racism, violence, how people interacted with each other, and other
ideas such as what art was and what it was supposed to be. I believe this idea of
actively seeking change is so important to humanity, because what would we be

retro amusement destination, keeping true to its roots as the U.K. s original

LGBT friendly Brighton, Sussex, tilts toward the modern, with its looming i360

However, a walk through the shops, restaurants and pubs that line Brighton s

Hip arthroplasty is the replacement of the hip joint with a prosthesis, and is one of
the most common reconstructive operations (Huo et al 2008). Hip arthroplasty may
be performed when irreversible damage has occurred to the joint; this damage often
causes pain, dysfunction and reduced quality of life. The pre operative nursing
considerations begin with patient education. This should begin at the time the
decision is made to have the surgical procedure performed. It is important that the

The color, sensation, movement and pedal pulses of the operated leg should be
assessed regularly to observe for any circulatory or neurological impairment. Pain
assessments should be noted at regular intervals, since patients who have their pain
well controlled following surgery are able to mobilize more quickly and easily,
which helps reduce the risk of post operative complications such as deep vein
thrombosis, pulmonary embolism and respiratory infection. Prolonged and
inadequate post operative pain may result in higher mortality and morbidity rates,
increased length of hospital stay and greater healthcare expenses (Eid and Bucknall
2008). The nurse can work closely with the hospital physiotherapists on specific
exercises and to assess whether individuals require mobility aides. The patients
should be encouraged to participate in foot exercises such as rotation, flexion and
extension of the ankle to encourage venous return and to help prevent pooling of
blood in the calf muscles (Temple 2004). Since nurses spend more time with patients
than other allied health professionals, it is essential that the nursing staff are aware of
the nature and benefit of post operative exercises and are able to instruct and support
patients in performing these exercises frequently throughout the day. In conclusion,
hip arthroplasty is a common procedure that frequently results in increased levels of

The Idea Of Nationalism And The Indigo Planting Mirror
Introduction on The idea of nationalism in the colonial world in Deenabandhu Mitra s
Neel Darpan
Neel Darpan; or The Indigo Planting Mirror is a Bengali play written by Dinabandhu
Mitra in 1858 1859. The play was essential to Neelbidraha, or Indigo revolt of
February March 1859 in Bengal, when farmers refused to plant indigo in their fields
as a protest against exploitative farming under the British Raj.
The preface to the play addresses the numerous indigo planters who are offered the
neel darpan (the indigo mirror), so that they may take a look reflected in it . In this
play it reflects the social, political and economic situations affected by the tyranny of
the indigo planters which exploits the Indian peasants.
The play is based on Mitra s experience as a postmaster in rural areas of Orissa and
Bengal. He saw the indigo farmer s oppression very closely. The trials of the
peasants were not only unjust but inhuman and exploitative in nature. Mitra wrote
this play to raise a voice against the indigo planters, jamindars and British officials.
Gradually the message spread all around and the voices of the peasants became the
voice of the masses against the imperialism. This play s central theme is the

Gadolinium (Gd) doped antiperovskite compounds Mn3Cu1 xGdxN were synthesized
by the conventional solid state reaction. With increasing Gd concentration, two
magnetic transitions appeared, at a high Curie temperature (TC1) corresponding to
paramagnetic (PM) ferromagnetic (FM) transition and a low temperature (TC2)
ascribed to the FM antiferromagnetic (AFM) transition. The magnetic relaxation
results show the formation of a magnetic metastable state after the FM AFM
transition at low temperature(lower than TC2), forming a novel magnetic step feature
in the process from AFM to FM under a certain magnetic field.

However, besides conventional transition metal (TM) atoms, utilizing the rare earth
atoms with 4f electrons to replace Cu has not yet been achieved and may introduce
new magnetic couplings such as the f d and f f f couplings. These new exchange
interactions may induce novel physical features in the antiperovskite structures. Thus,
a systematical investigation on the physical properties of rare earth elements doped
Mn3AN is required and may also benefit us in further understanding their intrinsic
physical properties and designing a new type of the device based on the
antiperovskite compounds.
In this study, Gd with a high TC of 289 K was selected to replace Cu, and a series
of Mn3Cu1 xGdxN (x = 0.15, 0.17, 0.19, and 0.25) were synthesized. Both the
structural and magnetic properties measurement showed that with increasing Gd
content, a typical FM PM transition appeared and gradually shifted towards high
temperature. Simultaneously, a FM AFM transition accompanied by a crystal
transition from cubic to tetragonal was observed and moves to low temperature with
increasing Gd content. With x in the range from 0.17 to 0.19, a typical magnetization
step characteristic was observed at 50 K owing to the magnetic phase separation.

Beast From Water Alternate Ending Essay
CHAPTER FIVE Beast from Water
The tide was coming in and there was only a narrow strip of firm beach between the
water and the white, stumbling stuff near the palm terrace. Ralph chose the firm
strip as a path because he needed to think, and only here could he allow his feet to
move without having to watch them. Suddenly, pacing by the water, he was
overcome with astonishment. He found himself understanding the wearisomeness of
this life, where every path was an improvisation and a considerable part of one s
waking life was spent watching one s feet. He stopped, facing the strip; and
remembering that first enthusiastic exploration as though it were part of a brighter
childhood, he smiled jeeringly. He turned then and walked back toward the platform
with the sun in his face. The time had come for the assembly and as he walked into
the concealing splendors of the sunlight he went carefully over the points of his
speech. There must be no mistake about this assembly, no chasing imaginary. . . .
He lost himself in a maze of thoughts that were rendered vague by his lack of words
to express them. Frowning, he tried again. This meeting must not be fun, but
business. At that he walked faster, aware all at once of urgency and the declining
sun and a little wind created by his speed that breathed about his face. This wind
pressed his grey shirt against his chest so that he noticed in this new mood of
comprehension how the folds were stiff like cardboard, and unpleasant;

4.1 Functional classification of dysregulated proteins
It was shown that MPS VII is characterized by accumulation of ubiquitin and
neurofilament, but not PHF П„, О± synuclein or apoptosis [20]. Similarly, significant
alterations in the ubiquitin proteasome system (UPS), but not proteins associated
with apoptosis or PHF П„ and О± synuclein, were identified in this study. Previous
transcriptomic and proteomic analyses of MPS VII mouse brain identified many
dysregulated proteins involved in metabolism and cytoskeleton [21,22]. Additionally,
these studies found that neuroinflammation is also upregulated, but not to a large
extent. Similar results were observed in this study, indicating the reliability of the
proteomics approach. We also examined ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dysregulation of cytoskeletal genes has also been seen in MPS I mouse brains [4],
MPS IIIB mouse brains [26] and MPS VII dog hearts [27]. Additionally, low density
lipoprotein related protein 1B (LRP1B), dynamin 1 (DMN1) and dynamin related
protein 1 (DNM1L), which are involved in the process of endocytosis, are
downregulated. Vesicle associated membrane protein 2 (VAMP2) is involved in the
targeting and/or fusion of transport vesicles to their target membrane [28]. These
results further suggest impaired lysosomal membrane trafficking pathways in MPS
VII.
Based on previous reports and results in this study, we hypothesize that GAG
accumulation leads to alterations in the cytoskeletal system and thereby impairs
lysosomal membrane pathways including endocytosis, exocytosis, autophagy and
vesicle transport. Notably, endocytosis defects in brain endothelial cells may
contribute to low transcytosis, making enzyme replacement therapy more difficult to
achieve neurological benefits. Therefore, targeting specific pathways involved in
transcytosis may be an effective strategy to enhance enzyme delivery to the brain in
lysosomal diseases including MPS VII.
4.1.2 Proteostasis
Many neurodegenerative diseases share a common molecular signature: disruption of
proteostasis [29]. This often manifests as an accumulation of ubiquitylated proteins,
with evidence for a robust contribution to
Alfonso Cuaron s Children Of Men
Alfonso Cuaron s Children of Men is during the onset of the apocalypse film, as it
takes places in the middle of human extinction due to global infertility. The film can
be related to a multitude of things but a connection with a quote of Jay Gould and
how the protagonist develops creates an interesting discussion on what matters, if
anything matters. Theo is basically a nihilist when the audience meets him but by the
films concussion his life has found a meaning that makes living in a world where
things just happen a little more tolerable. Scornful of the jeremiads of the moralists,
a rational and humane scientist proposes the minimum consolation: an apocalypse
that doesn t have any meaning. AIDS is a natural phenomenon, not an event with a
moral meaning . This quote by Jay Gould reminds me of several scenes in the

Charles Lee: General in the American Revolutionary War
By David E. LaClair Jr
Charles Lee, a general in the American Revolutionary war, is a historic figure in
American history. Serving under George Washington, Charles Lee participated in a
number of battles. However, history says Charles Lee was treacherous to the cause,
all the while that he was in command during that time; he was acting in bad faith
toward the Americans. His influence in the army was, at all times, mischievous
(General Charles Lee: Traitor of the American Revolution). To the British, Charles
Lee was a traitor who turned on England to fight under George Washington. Due to
Charles Lee s treacherous actions against America, it would lead to his downfall in the

Most of the credit rightfully belonged to Colonel Moultrie because nine warships
mounting nearly 270 guns (cannon) were soundly defeated by Colonel William
Moultrie. Also, with limited ammunition, Moultrie s orders were not to waste fire
(Preservation Society of Charleston). When Washington gave Lee another command
sometime after, Lee was reluctant to carry it out. Lee questioned Washington s
ability, possibly from his earlier experience with Washington at Braddock s. Some
have speculated that Lee wanted to see his superior defeated so that he could take
command of the continental army (US History, War for Independence). In December
1776, Lee left his army to spend the evening in White s Tavern in Basking Ridge,
New Jersey (US History, War for Independence). Things may have gone good to
Lee at first, having nice food and being around women, but all that changed when
Lee stayed the night at the tavern and woke up the next morning. When morning
came, Lee was surprised by the arrival of British troops under Benastre Tarleton, a
former comrade who had sworn an oath in a London club to track down and
decapitate Lee. Following a brief skirmish during which escape routes were cut
off, a humiliated Lee was taken prisoner and removed to New York City (US
History, War for Independence). Because of Lee s lust and desire to get away from
battle, lent him to be captured by the very same people who considered him a traitor.

The Kingdom of God
The Kingdom of God is a hidden, but important theme in the New Testament of the
Bible. It isn t a place, but rather a state of being. Jesus spends most of his life living
as an example of the Kingdom of God. Through Jesus teachings, people begin to
understand what it truly means to live in the Kingdom. This theme is mainly
introduced in the gospel of Mark and progresses further in depth throughout the New
Testament. The meaning of the Kingdom of Godis found in the words of JesusChrist.
He provides an insight to the Kingdom and how to be a part of it. Through a more
in depth look, one can find that many factors influence the presence and meaning of

God s will must be done to enter the Kingdom of God. Jesus makes it known that
Christians should live for God and through God. People should do all things

in all actions completed through God. Whether volunteering through the church, or
helping a friend, do it in the right mindset to please God. Authority in the Kingdom
of God is crucial to being a part of it. Authority is having power over someone or
something, the right to give orders, and enforce obedience. (Webster) With regard
to the Kingdom of God, authority fits into place in a couple categories. First, one
must have authority over Satan and evil to be a part of the Kingdom of God. Having
power over Satan is pivotal to God s Kingdom. Without power over Satan, has
someone truly defeated evil? Authority over evil ensures that no evil enters God s
Kingdom. The major ways we give claim to the Enemy in our lives are through sin
and through making agreements with Satan. (Eldredge) Jesus shows an example of
authority over Satan when he is in the desert. Satan tempts Jesus with many things,
but Jesus resists and conquers Satan with each temptation. He backs each temptation
with evidentiary support, beginning with, it is written, from the old testament. (The
Holy Bible, Matt. 4:1 11). Jesus shows that authority over Satan is important to the
Kingdom of God. Second, authority over
The American Revolutionary War And The Declaration Of

At the start of the nineteenth century, the majority of the North American continent
remained unexplored. In the wake of the American Revolutionary War and the
declaration of independence from Great Britain on July 4th, 1776, the newly
liberated colonists sought to expand their land. The thirteen original British colonies
were rooted in the eastern region of the territory, in relatively close proximity. While
the former British citizens were excited to begin their new lives, overcrowding in the
new states was a problem that required an immediate solution. Each colony was
originally created with enough space to house its initial settlers according to its
charter; however, births and increased migration to the New World began to cause
congestion. The United Statesgovernment proposed one solution: westward
expansion of North America.
With the establishment of individual states, Americans from their very earliest
beginnings believed that God had bestowed upon them a mission to spread their
supreme civilization, in particularly, freedom, whether in religion, commerce, or race
(Dobson 2013: 43). Under this influence of Christianity and entitlement, Anglo Saxon
Americans believed that they had a given birth right to access any land on the
continent of North America. During this time period, Thomas Jefferson was elected
the third President of the United States in 1801. As a founding father and principal
author of the American Constitution, Jefferson was the main proponent of
Drug Courts And The Criminal Justice System
Drug courts are considered to be one of the most successful innovations to be
implemented in the criminal justice system. It was first implemented during the
height of the drug war hysteria and the long epidemic of the skyrocketing rates of
incarceration. According to the Bureau of Justice Assistance (2010), drugcourts are a
specially designed court docket, whose purpose is to achieve a reduction in
recidivism and substance abuse among nonviolent substance abusing offenders and to
increase the offender s likelihood of successful habilitation through, continuous, and
intense judicially supervised treatment, mandatory periodic drug testing, community
supervision, and use of appropriate sanctions and other rehabilitation services .
Drug Courts were first launched in 1989 by the Miami Dade County area of
Florida. A local prosecutor by the name of Janet Reno and a few other criminal
justice professionals grew tired of seeing the same faces and same cases reappear in
court so their solution to the problem was to combine drug treatment within the court
like structure. The number of drug courts since then have proliferated to nearly 3,400
across the United Statesas of June 2014 (NIJ, 2015). More than half target adults and a
growing number of juveniles, families, veterans, and various other case types. The
innovation of drug courts alters how the court system handles and monitors drug
involved cases and integrates the treatment aspect into their primary goals. Drug

Reasons For Juvenile Delinquency
Juvenile Delinquency and why they do it
Juvenile delinquency is a big thing in the United States of America. The reason for
this is that it accounts for a good portion of the percentage of crime, and it can lead
to them committing crimes as an adult. There are many theories that we will discuss
as reasons why these kids will end up as a statistic in juvenile delinquency and ways
to slow down, if not stop, the numbers from becoming higher.
What is Juvenile Delinquency
First of all, you may be wondering, what is juvenile delinquency? Juvenile
delinquency is crime committed by a child at the age of 18 and younger, that if
committed by an adult would end up in court or prison (Wilson,2000). That means
that just because a kid skipped school does not mean he or she would be considered
a juvenile delinquent, but if that same child committed murder, rape, robbery, assault,
etc. he or she would be considered a juvenile delinquent(Wilson,2000). Be careful
with this as every state, federal government, etc. may have their own definition that
may be a little different in the writing or the age at which they follow.
Juvenile Delinquency Statistics
There are many statistics out there for juvenile delinquency from what age or
grade they are most likely to commit a crime to what race, sex and if there is a
better chance to commit a crime do to divorce, being around drugs or gangs, and
etc(Hawkins,2000). All of these different things could be causes or risk factors for
juvenile delinquency, but does not guarantee that these kids would be criminal s later
in live.
One of those is the reason that juvenile delinquency needs to be looked at more and
fixed is, juveniles are involved or committed at least a quarter of all serious violent
act, not to include murder in the past 25 years.(Juvenile Justice) In 1999 around 2.5
million juveniles were arrested and 104,000 were due to violent crimes. There were
1.7 million juvenile delinquency cases in the courts in 1997. (Juvenile Justice) About
2,000 were from homicide, 6,5oo for rape, 67,900 for assault and the rest were things
related with drugs. (Juvenile Justice) With these numbers it shows why considering
juvenile delinquency is very important to get that number down that it will

This provides much more brilliance than a flat cut stone. Flat cuts are better used as
inlays to accentuate the center of the ring than as the centerpiece themselves.
The clarity of an opal ring is absolutely crucial. Small sand particles often get stuck
in opal stones, and if they are big enough they can mar the surface or interior of the
stone. This will absolutely ruin the overall aesthetic of the ring, and detract from its
value.
The perfect opal ring will also have a fantastic setting. The most popular choices
for this are gold and white gold. This depends on the colors of the opal, so it must be
decided on a case by case basis. As a general rule of thumb, offsetting the color of the
band material with the color of the opal will draw more attention to the ring, helping
it to stand out and be noticed. For instance, it s more common to see black opal rings
with white gold.
In the end, finding the perfect opal ring is all about perseverance and knowledge.
Knowing how to choose a high quality opal will get you most of the way there, but
you still need to put forth the effort to discover it. Don t lose heart, and never settle
for anything short of
Self Perception
When we look at the sky the first thing we wish to see are the stars, those
amazing shinning objects everyone talks about, but not all see. Self concept and
perception work the same way. Through interpersonal communication we relate,
communicate and evolve with other people physically and emotionally and it s
affected
by one s self concept, perception and emotion.
Self concept is a term used to refer to how someone thinks about or perceives
themselves. How we think about and evaluate ourselves and how aware we are of
ourselves as a concept to be. A more stable definition is, as Baumeister provides, the
individual s belief about himself or herself, including the person s attributes and who

to someone and having direct and concrete responses. When you have a hard time
discussing an issue that you not know exactly how to express, your recipient might
loose himself in the conversation. Like in any type of communication, there s a chance
that the intended meaning is lost. Specially, when people try to express their feelings
the meanings get wrongly perceived. A person might want to break up a relationship
but
in a nice and mature way, so they try to smooth the situation and be sensitive about

saying something dry that can hurt its partner. But, if it is too sensitive and too nice,
the

Perception is someone s reality, it determines how they perceive information from
another person and how the perception of others is the product of how you view
yourself. Perception can be learned, physical or cultural depending on your

They type of learned perception is formed with someone s personality, from the
thoughts, ideas and beliefs that are taught. For example, when a child communicates
and transmits information with his parents, the parent s personality traits, beliefs and
ethics of life will reflect in the kid. He

Professional Ethics
Introduction
Professional ethics are the standards set by people in their professions. By setting
standards in the form of professional ethics, people in their professions work
together to uphold their positions and reputations. An organization expects theirs
employees to represent them ethically as they are part of the organization. Policies
are another type of standards or code of ethics set by the organization and everyone
who is part of it is expected to constitute them. Professional ethics is also defined as
what professional choose to do when they face a problem at work that involves a
moral issue. . These ethics turn out to be the guiding principles for to make an
individual well disciplined and highly successful in his personal life which may
include all of his family, friends, acquaintances, relatives etc. These are the specific
set of moral principles that help a certain individual or an organization to develop
their attitude and behavioural aspects that are most probably likeable by others.
From the picture, highlighted part that shows the words moral principles are the most
important words in professional ethics. Without moral principles,

News. First amendment rights and the democratic political environment of the united

private communication. 1 the world of journalism has changed dramatically from the
colonial days. When newspapers were just channels or devices of commercial and

Another reason that leads to his actions, which is also the reason he wanted to

The Rise Of Fear By Marilynne Robinson
Faltering Faithfulness: The Rise In Fear
Fear is often characterized as an irrational sense of negativity toward the unknown
or the unlikeable. In the eyes of many Americans, the majority of whom proclaim
their Christian beliefs, this sensation is considered unavoidable. Marilynne
Robinson argues in her article Fear , published by The New York Review of Books
in 2015, that ...first, contemporary America is full of fear. And second, fear is not a
Christian habit of mind (Robinson 1). In other words, it is unchristian to fear. In both
the beginning and conclusion, she clearly expresses credibility through her extensive
credentials and strong emotional arguments; however, this is overshadowed by the
wordiness, sarcasm, and lack of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Robinson s use of her intelligence and lengthy career helps build an image of
reliability within her argument initially. However, as citing facts soon turns to
reciting history as if directly from a textbook, her wealth of knowledge becomes
exhausting. Focus changes numerously from fear, to gun rights, to ever changing
religious views in the nation, and her argument lacks the clarity that it began with. In
her effort to almost brag about how well read she is, Marilynne completely loses
sight of the purpose and the attention of the reader.
Robinson emphasizes some her argument on employing logical persuasion to
counteract her shortcomings in credibility. It s frequent that events in history can
repeat themselves, and understanding the implications of past actions helps to
prevent future mistakes. Fear is an emotion that is, in our society today,
unavoidable. Yet, this is precisely what creates an atmosphere of political or social
unrest within the nation and abroad. Because, it serves as a tool by which ideas
can be spread or perhaps forced down upon those easily convinced. She cites guns
as being a prime example of this case, saying: gun sales stimulate gun sales, and
when people see weapons, they have every reason on earth to fear the worst (4
Robinson). Fear is better described as being contagious . As the threat of violence,
for example, increases, the perceived need for violence in retaliation increases. The

The Role Of Fate In Medieval Literature
THE ROLE OF FATE IN THE DESIRES OF MEN IN MEDIEVAL LITERATURE
Two of the most common themes found in many medieval literature are those of
desire and fate. Sometimes these themes are explicitly explored by authors to
illustrates their understanding or to make a point about them. Other times the authors
make implicit, nuanced suggestions through the plot of their tales that allows the
readers to discover their own understandings about two and to make connections
between them. Chaucer s The Wife of Bath s Tale, as well as Thomas of England s

medieval literature present a unique connection between the desires of men and the

Through the duration of the tale, Tristan is so driven by his love and lust for Isolte
that engages in deceiving his king and risking grave punishment. However, one
could argue that Tristan is not driven humanly desire but by the magical force of
the potion that was accidentally given to him and Isolte by Brangein. It is the
potion that had caused them to fall deeply in love with each other and could be
driving Tristan s desire. Although this is a valid assumption, it can be refuted by the
fact that towards the end of the tale we are told that the effects of the potion
eventually wear off, but we know Tristan continues to have feelings of love and lust
for Isolde even after this point is made.
The best way to decide what desires drive Tristan to behave as he does is to examine
the reasons that led him to certain circumstances. In other words, what workings of
fate are also a driving force for his desires? For example, what led to his meeting with
Isolde? Early in the tale we learn that Tristan becomes a vassal of King Mark; But my
body I give up to King Mark. I
Westboro Baptist Church
Persuasive opinion paper
God hates fags, Thank god for dead soldiers, Thank god for Hurricane Katrina, Pretty
harsh right? These are all common phrases publically protested by a church called the
Westboro Baptist church. You would think such comments should be illegal to chant
out in public considering that gay marriage is now legal in some states and also that
soldiers are out fighting for us, however members of the Westboro Baptist church feel
differently. Westboro Baptist church was established in 1955. Located in Topeka,

The final thing done by the Westboro Baptist church that catches the eye of many
Americans is the upside down flying of the American flag. According to the
members, the upside down flag is a sign of distress. They feel that the entire country

Modernization Of Modernity, And Modernizations In
Latin...
Modernity(ies) and modernizations in Latin America
Despite some authors highlight ancients forms of communication or even proto
communication during pre colonial times in Latin America (Ferreira, 2006),
professional journalism as we currently know it is actually a product of Modernity
(Nerone, 2012). Modernity is, overall, an unfinished western project (Habermas,
1983) and its very conditions of possibility are strongly rooted in colonialism as its
very spatial and material dimensions. So, colonialism fluxes and influxes not only
spread the intellectual project of the Enlightenment at the same time its imperialistic
vocation of domination, but also cultural practices that have been adopted/adapted in
complex and complicated ways by the colonized. Therefore, the introduction of
modern technologies such as press and journalism simultaneously carried out the
ideals of Enlightenment and embedded colonization, exploitation, a global division of
racial labor, and the production of a differentiate humanity (Quijano, 2000).
The concept of Modernity has been highly problematized by Latin American thinkers
(GarcГa Canclini, 1992b; MartГn Barbero, 1995; MartГn Barbero White, 1993;
Quijano, 2000) as a Western construct, a colonial enterprise, and a failed project. In
that vein, GarcГa Canclini (1992) conceives Latin America as a complex articulation
of traditions and modernity(ies), deployed in divergent times experiences, far beyond
a linear conceptualization of progress, and
The Importance Of Motivation In The Workplace
The Importance of Appreciation The goal is to create a healthy workplace where
team members receive and communicate appreciation, and where quality trusting
relationships are built in order to advance the church s values and goals. Chapman
and White write about the need for team members to feel appreciated in the
workplace. They explain that the majority of workers do not feel appreciated or are
under appreciated. This, according to the authors, is a major dilemma. They contend
that feeling unappreciated or under appreciated is a major reason for high turnover in
the workplace. Chapman and White argue that appreciationmeets a fundamental need
of all people. They assert that when this need is met, people feel satisfaction and that
will translate in the workplace. Furthermore, by showing appreciation, team members
are motivated to continually give their best work. Motivationis imperative for a
successful church. Dr. Bartel (2016) describes motivation as, The human force that
initiates, guides and sustains goaloriented behaviors. It is what causes humankind to
act to fulfill desired goals. Dr. Bartel insists that motivation comes from within a
person, which creates the desire to do what he wants to do. Similarly, Dr. Beckwith
(2016) defines motivation as, A desire to achieve a goal, combined with the energy to
work towards that goal. In other words, motivation creates an inward drive to
accomplish a task, and motivation creates the fuel to finish the
My Career As A Dental Assistant Essay
The Denture Dissertation Our teeth are some of the most overworked bones in our
body. We use them to grind, gnaw, crush, and pulverize food every day. Despite this
workload, we still expect our teeth make us look fabulous when smiling for the
camera. Imagine life without teeth. Imagine life with false teeth. Would we smile as
much? Would we still enjoy our favorite foods? Let s explore these questions further
as they have played major role in my short career as a registered dental assistant.
Immediately after high school, I attended Concorde Career College with the goal of
obtaining a dental assistant degree. Dental assistants help dental operators such as
dentists and dental hygienists with providing more efficient dental treatment. We also
prepare patients for treatments, sterilize instruments, handle instruments, operate
dental equipment, process dental radiographs, and take dental impressions ( Dental
Assistant ). After graduation, Affordable Dentures and Crowns in New Braunfels,
Texas was where I began my career as a dental assistant. Our services primarily
included dentures, crowns, and tooth extractions. During my time there, we ve
completed numerous extractions and replaced teeth with dentures also known as
false teeth. Dentures are removable appliances that can replace missing teeth and help
restore a patient s smile. There are many steps involved in providing dentures. Firstly,
patients must schedule an appointment at the dental office. Patients

Masculinity In Breaking Bad
In a patriarchal society where boys should be boys , a man has to provide for the
family, and expressing violence is another way of demonstrating a male s power,
socioeconomic problems arise, from domestic violence to crime. The higher impact
that masculinity has on the nation reaches to the most fundamental part of a society:
the family. Masculinityis not genetic rather than it s implied to you as a child or
learned through aggressive and active actions in everyday life as a part of what it
means to be accomplished as a man. The highly awarded show, and considered by
most as the greatest TV show of all times, Breaking Bad, represents how a normal
working class man, under powered by his wife and mocked by his macho brother in
law, turns from... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If being masculine means being powerful through violence, and if power brings
wealth, the random male will become eventually addicted to it, even though it
might be morally and ethically wrong. Viewing masculinity in a sort of religious
ways, we can say that includes some of the seven deadly sins, more specifically:
greed, lust, wrath, and pride. Even though these human traits are some of the most
fundamental traits of the human nature, masculinity only reinforces these traits.
Walter starts cooking meth for a good reason but than his greediness for more and
more takes control of his mind. Walter s behavior towards Jesse, makes their
relation eventually becomes destroyed. His pride of his superior intelligence
towards Jesse makes him behave that certain way. The climax of his pride reaches
when he says: Say my name! Walter s wrath make him take revenge against Jack
and his gang. Above all, his lust for money and power is what finally destroys his
family. Walt s posture of a cold blooded, intelligent, but violent military man it s
what makes everything around him fall apart. As mention in Troublesome
Masculinities ...investment in the mechanism and language of war, in structures
of inequality, in the glorification of military structures, and nuclearisation only
reinforces violence... (quoted in Greig 7l). When Gustavo cut s one of his
employees throat in front of Jesse and Walt, without a single expression of
compassion rather than a hidden pleasure, just to show to them what he is capable
of, shows what the extremes of masculinity are. Even Walter at the end admits it to
his wife: If I have to hear one more time that you did this for the family... warns
Skyler furiously. I did it for me, Walter responds, I liked it. I was good at it. And I
was really I was alive. He admits it to
Gavrilo Princip, Sarajevo and World War I Essays
Gavrilo Princip, Sarajevo and World War I
In present day Sarajevo alongside the Miljacka River there used to be
commemorative footprints in the concrete sidewalk. Spanning across the Miljacka
River was the Princip Bridge, named after the man who took not only the life of an
Archduke, but also the lives of many more during World War I. Bismarck had
predicted that, Some damned foolish thing in the Balkans would cause the war. He
was partially correct. The assassination of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand by Gavrilo
Princip did not cause World War I; instead it served as one of the contributing factors
to the start of the war. This is why in Sarajevo, after 1990, there are no traces of the
assassination. Street names have been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This immediately left no hope for the Turks to regain their lands; however,
Bosnians would now have full rights and privileges of the Empire. The reason for
doing this is not really known, but it is thought by some that the Austrians were
just exercising their right as a sovereign power. Turkey was paid a settlement in
cash from the Austrians and much of Europe calmed down, except for the Serbians
who wanted the territory as their own. On October 8, 1908, two days after the
annexation, the founding of a semi secret society called Narodna Odbrana occurred.
They met in the City Hall in the city of Belgrade. Many of these men were Serbian
ministers, government officials, and generals. The group was founded to give a
purpose to Pan Slavism and to recruit and train for a potential war with Austria. Anti
Austrian propaganda was spread and spies of the Narodna Odbrana were now
operating in the Austrian provinces. One year later, in 1909, Austria asked the
Serbian government to put a stop to their revolution against Austria. The Narodna
Odbrana was forced to listen and instead they concentrated on education and
propaganda in Serbia.
Many members of the Narodna Odbrana were not happy with this and decided to
form a new, completely secret, organization. On May 9, 1911, ten men met together
to form the Ujedinjenje ili Smrt which became known as the Black Hand . The goal
of the men was to
The American Of The French Revolution
Americans have changed many times over the centuries we have been a nation.
There have been times when Native Americans were the only ones roaming these
lands. There was a time when we didn t have control over our nation as a whole.
There was a time when our nation was at war with itself. We are two time defending
World War Champions. Americans are as battle tested as they come and also as
diverse as any nationhas ever been. Here is where the question being asked rally
stems from in my belief. What is an American can be looked at so many different
ways depending on what time you look at it. In this piece What is an American , we
receive what it means to be an American in the 18th century. At this time there was
mass migration from Europe, meaning that no one was truly from America, but that
doesn t there was no true Americans.
In the 18th century, France was at war with themselves during the French
Revolution. They also were involved in the French and Indian War, which brought
many French men overseas to fight for their homeland. This is how the author of
What is an American , J. Hector St. John de Crevecoeur, ended up in America.
Crevecoeur eventually settled when he arrived in America in a pleasant Hudson
Valley hearth. After settling, Crevecoeur finds what Europeans all thought to be
true, America was different in all kinds of ways from Europe. Europeans in need of
change and/or release from what was going on in their native land, saw America as

My Very Good Friend From High School, Maeleigh, And
Her...
I interviewed my very good friend from high school, Maeleigh, and her recent
girlfriend, Anna. Maeleigh and Anna have completely different coming out stories
at this point in their lives. Growing up with Maeleigh, I was able to see how her
life was affected by being gay. I know more about her lifestyle and story than most
would and it was difficult for her to figure herself out. Mae was very confused and
distraught as she got older and she started to realize she was not the so called
normal little girl. She had to learn to except herself before she could tell anyone or
most importantly come out to her parents. As for Anna, I have no personal ties to her.
Maeleigh met Anna this year at school; they both attend Manchester University and
play on the softball team. They eventually got together and developed a relationship.
Everything between the two is new and they are learning more about each others
stories and how they dealt with coming out. Coming out is one of the most difficult
aspects of being a lesbian. They have spent an extreme amount of time playing out
in their minds how to tell this news to their parents. The scariest part, both have
said, would have to be the thought of being rejected by their families. Maeleigh had
known she was different from everyone since she was in 5th grade. She began to
find herself having crushes on girls rather than boys. She said in 5th grade she was
terrified, not knowing why she felt this way. Not knowing the reasons why she felt

Privatization Reform During Latin America
Conclusion
Since the 1980s, transnational actors have disseminated ideas of education
privatization throughout Latin America. Although by similar means, these policy
ideas arrived at different historical moments at Chile and Argentina. Privatization
ideas made its way in Chile carried by the influential Chicago boys, during the critical
juncture of the authoritarian regime. The market based reform served the interests of
the military regime, and faced very little resistance given the repression and
dismantling of the teacher union, and the penetration of the economic logic in the
Ministry of Education. Timing, carriers and weak opposition allowed a complete
replacement of the domestic education policy. Later in democracy, state oriented
education bureaucrats were not able to reverse the policy change. Although they tried
to build on the inherited model and use the state as a way to correct the failures of the
education market, the inconsistency between their goals and their means ended up
reproducing and strengthening the privatized model.
By contrast in Argentina, the economic perspective arrived timidly and late when the
country was making its transition to democracy. The resistance of the teacher union
and provincial governments towards fiscal decentralization, and the reluctance of the
ministry of education to market based reforms, refrained the government from
proposing explicit privatization instruments such as vouchers. Instead, the
government gradually changed

It was until the infamous Muammar Gaddafi seized power ,in 1969, through a Coup
d etat that Libya had began to progress. Unfortunately, Gaddafi has been labelled
has a erratic, brutal, defiant dictator because of the strategies that he used to
enhance and enforce his power. It s been alleged that used various forces to get rid
of competition or anyone that opposed him and his way of ruling. This has made it
easy for many to discredit him and the many progressive ideas that he d brought to
Libya.
Muammar Gaddafi strongly believed that owning a home is a natural human right
and is just as necessary as food. Owning home will allow one to live and feel free
without the many control that comes from living under a landlord. Anyone living
under a landlord will have to comply with their rules. New home buyers were given
an equivalence of 50,000 US dollars so that they may start a family. An extra 5,000
was given to mothers after they gave birth to support the child. When Gaddafi took
control, he greatly took into consideration the poverty stricken state that Libya was
in and made it his duty to make education, medical treatment, and electricity free
because they are believed to be basic human rights as well. As a result of this Libya
s literacy increased from 25% to 87%. Not only was education free, but students were
able to choose what and when they wanted. He strongly felt that a standardized

fallen by $44,000 to reach $610,000. Since the average price per square foot
actually rose, this change mostly indicates that smaller homes are selling more
frequently. During the last year, the average price per square foot increased from
$914 to $1,036. Most of the multi unit homes in Chinatown are inside of low rise
buildings. In the last decade, many buildings have been transformed into luxury, high
end homes. Loft units have risen in popularity, so many historic buildings have been
converted into luxury lofts. Unlike the rest of Boston, Chinatown still has a
surprising number of affordable homes. Right now, investors can buy homes at a
comparably lower price and watch their investment rise in value over the upcoming
years. Since many renters are looking for homes in the area, investors never have to

  • 1. How To Write A Great Narrative Essay Writing an essay on the intricacies of crafting a great narrative essay is no easy task. The challenge lies not only in conveying the essential steps and techniques but also in capturing the essence of storytelling itself. The complexity arises from the need to seamlessly blend structure, creativity, and a deep understanding of the narrative art. To begin with, one must grapple with the delicate balance between plot development and character arcs, ensuring that the story unfolds naturally and captivates the reader from start to finish. Selecting the right narrative voice is another hurdle, as it sets the tone and perspective that will guide the reader through the essay's narrative landscape. Moreover, crafting engaging and relatable characters requires a keen understanding of human nature and the ability to infuse authenticity into fictional personas. Developing a compelling plotline demands not only creativity but also a structured approach to build tension, climax, and resolution in a coherent manner. Beyond the creative aspects, the technicalities of essay writing must also be meticulously handled. Attention to detail is crucial in crafting well-structured paragraphs, maintaining a logical flow, and ensuring that each sentence contributes to the overall coherence of the narrative. Striking the right balance between description and brevity poses yet another challenge, as excessive detail can overwhelm the reader while insufficient elaboration may leave them disconnected from the narrative. In essence, writing an essay on "How To Write A Great Narrative Essay" demands a fusion of artistic creativity and meticulous craftsmanship. It involves navigating through the nuances of storytelling, honing writing skills, and presenting a guide that is not only instructive but also exemplifies the principles it espouses. • 2. Why I Want A Wife Writing is a form of art, and like a painting two people are able to look at the painting and give different interpretations of what they see, and the same is goes for writing. The author paints the reader a picture with words they use. some artist are better than others in the same way that some writers are better at expressing themselves than others. An example of an author that is able to paint a picture into the reader s mind is Judy Brady in her writing Why I Wanta Wife. She is able to captivate the reader into her writing by sparking an interest in what she has to say next. However, looking into her writing, the reader is easily able to see the flaws in her words. She over uses repetition, transitions points poorly, is over stereotypical, makes illogical claims, and is overly insensitive. It is often said in order for a person to retain information they need to read the given information at least three times. In Why I Want a Wife Brady definitely wants the reader to remember her purpose, because she repeats the phrase I want a wife twenty six times her short two page essay. Too much repetition can create a ludicrous effect (Grammar). From the Title the reader already knows that she wants a wife and does not need to be told another sixteen times. The purpose for repeating may have been for added emphasis, but this repetition was interpreted as more of poor word choice. She may have been more persuasive if she used different ways to express the same idea

The section Slugfest characterizes Jabba the Hutt and the predator space slug and what its diet would probably be. When Teddy Bears have their Picnic reviews the physiological and psychological characteristics of koalas, chimpanzees and Ewoks, and Did You Leave Your Headlights On? describes and evaluates Jawas and Sand People, optics, Photoreceptors and Bioluminescence. There is one significant point, that it is highly unlikely for aliens from different planets to survive in a single environment such as the Mos Eisley cantina. Example, Jabba being a slug supposedly moves using a mavelike motion by creating a coating of secreted slime, but in the 1997 version of the Episode IV, Jabba is seen easily moving around in the xerophytic environment of Tatooine where he should in fact be desiccating. The third chapter of the book is named Droids and is comprised of eight topics and two essays. The section Wheels or Legs assesses the relationship between body shape, coordination and locomotive capabilities of the droids. While the section I, Droid delves into the subjects of neural networks, rule based vs. case based intelligence systems and memory wipes. The other sections in this chapter include Do You Hear What I Hear which assesses the concepts of speaking with intelligence, the nature of

They had done this by implementing their own creativity within each of the films to bring a new light to the genre. Each director was not afraid to step outside of the boundaries of the genre and, as a result, created multiple different approaches to the crime genre of films. For example, with Breathless we, as the audience, got a different side of the story that we never came to consider before: The damsel in distress or love interests side. Before movies like Breathless we never got the full experience of the possibilities that could arise from being caught in an affair with someone that s on the run. As a result we were enticed with seeing the other side of the story. One in which the bad guys actually have a more complicated love interest instead of slapping it on at the end. An example of this is when Michel and Patricia are staying at the hotel for the night. The dialogue and relationship there begins with Michael being a jerk about wanting to get under Patricia s ... This is perfectly executed with the switching of scenes from cleaning out the car after they accidentally shooting Marvin, Bretts associate, to Jules Winnfield and Vincent Vega sitting in the diner. The insanity that it brought out from the accidental shooting gets us to sink into their world and focus on their issues. Yet, once we are through that scene, we are put into a normal scene of them in the diner talking about life and their futures. One of the biggest criticisms directors can get is making an atmosphere that is paper thin and not attractive, but with Tarantino s brilliant execution on the film Pulp Fiction does the opposite of this as it enraptures us into the world that he had

Before I Came To The Rca And To London, I Worked As A Textile Before I came to the RCA and to London, I worked as a textile designer specialising in the design of men s ties in Seoul, South Korea. My business was relatively small and I enjoyed making bespoke textiles for my customers. Over time, I got to know my customers well, and tried to base my designs on this personal knowledge. I wanted the ties to be more than just mere physical objects; instead I wanted to imbue them with an emotional attachment that reflected the relationship between me and my customers and my knowledge of their lives and personalities. I began talking to my customers and noticed that unconsciously my designs were becoming more dialogical2, a graphical representation of the conversations and stories we shared. This ... The new research raises the question of ethical silk, made without the destruction of the moth within the cocoon, and the ethics of employment practices within the silk manufacturing industry today. The majority of mass production generates pollution, which causes climate change. In an era of fast fashion, mass produced textile waste has continued to grow4. According to the report Valuing our Clothes , extending the average life of clothes by only three months of active use would lead to a five to ten per cent reduction in each of the carbon, water and waste footprints; around 350,000 tonnes of used clothing ends up in landfill in the UK every year5. Waste is not just a UK problem. Dongdaemoon market is the biggest fashion and textiles market in South Korea. Many young designers work there but follow fashion trends rather than creating their own unique designs. About 20 tonnes of fabric waste is generated per day. Seoul city authorities estimate that it collects about 5,000 tonnes of waste resources, such as fabric and banners, per year from the Dongdaemoon market.6 The challenge of designing environmentally friendly textiles within existing economic systems without

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The shield that is located in Canada is the most famous shield because it is the oldest. The shield is the only area of rock that is as old as the Earth itself. This means that the rock formations located within the shield are 4.6 billion years old. No other area of the Earth s crust is this old because of the rock cycle. The rock cycle basically recycles the existing crust and turns it into new crust. This process starts with areas that are known as subduction zones. These subduction zones consist of one tectonic plate submerging underneath another tectonic plate. As the plate becomes subducted from tectonic movement, it breaks down and turns into magma. In some situations the crust that has now been turned into magma relocates to an area known as a hot spot. Hot spots are areas underneath the surface of the Earth that are filled with magma. As the pressure in these hot spots rises, the magma begins to work its way upward until it reaches the surface and forms new crust. This event usually takes place in the ocean which results in the formation of new oceanic crust. As time goes on this oceanic crust moves closer to the continents, then eventually becomes continental crust. As even more time passes, the continental crust begins to move upward forming what we know today as mountain ranges. Once the mountain ranges are formed, the cycle starts over because the mountains begin to erode and eventually will
  • 11. An Outsider In The Outsiders The Outsiders is one of the themes in the story. Looking at life as an outsider and the feeling of being treated as an outsider is a point of view. Someone who always feels like an outsider might believe that life is unfair. We as teenagers tend consider ourselves to be grown ups already, but in reality we are still under the control of others and this loss of control leads to the feeling that life isn t fair. For example, Ponyboy understands that he is not safe walking the streets alone because he could be attacked by the way he is dressed; this makes him feel like an outsider in his own town. Ponyboy sees unfairness every day. With his parents being dead, Darry is forced to work two jobs to support the brothers, while Soda has dropped out... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since their parents death, Darry has taken the responsibility of guardianship for Pony and Soda, and under that pressure he seems way older than he really is. He no longer views the two boys as siblings, but more as a responsibility. Darry sees Ponyboy s potential and has high expectations for him, but Ponyboy complains that Darry is a stricter than his father. Although by the end of the book he understands Darry. Gang relationships are included in the theme of family. Ponyboy s gang members need the support and security that they find in the gang. The home life circumstances that these boys find themselves in are usually abusive. They have resort to the gang for the care and support that should have come from parents. Johnny is painfully aware of the difference between the gang and a family and through him Pony begins to understand how lucky he is to have a caring family. The third major theme that runs through The Outsiders is the use of a black and white world. People have a tendency to embrace each other and events as absolutes. For example, The characters in The Outsiders are either rich or poor, Socs or

Strong themes about rejection, tolerance, and acceptance help drive the plot. What sets this story apart from other coming out stories is that the protagonist, is both Muslim and gay. Not only does he have to deal with his own sexuality, he also has to deal with his faith. This makes for a solid hook. The goal for Hashim is an emotional, inner goal. As he tries to come to terms, he s confronted with some moral choices. The concept of the script has merit and it s a relevant topic. It addresses a social need to help other gay Muslims, who might find one s self in the same moral dilemma. Thus, while there are plenty of strengths to build upon, the script would benefit from more development. The story opens with the protagonist clearly stating the problem. He s making a video. It s a rather mild opening. The story then transitions back in time to tell his story. The current presentation feels more like it s made for a TV movie. There s nothing wrong with that, but one can envision a stronger, more compelling storyline. The current structure s pace is rather slow and the tension is rather mild. There are events in the script like the make over that feel out of place. There are also two competing goals. The story sets up the idea that his family is arranging a marriage for him. This is actually very smart. It seems that this ticking clock will drive the story

The Pros And Cons Of Social Responsibility Aside from the billions in buy backs, billions on fines, Volkswagen has still not recovered in the two years since with their stock price still below that of before the scandal. This goes to show that corporate social responsibility is taken more earnestly, now more than ever, and that it is in companies best interests to be ethical in their responsibilities. Stakeholder interests are postulated to be vital to any successful business, managers should directly and clearly take into consideration their stakeholder s interests and needs, aiming to accomplish them through various company strategies (Theodoulidis, B. Et al. 2017). Sourcing responsibly is an integral focus for many companies applying corporate social responsibilities, the relations they have with down the line suppliers and farmers have profound impacts upon those workers, the company, its branding and society at large. Companies like Starbucks show that by acting sustainably and sourcing responsibly a company doesn t not have to sacrifice profit or market domination. CSR takes the stakeholder theory in the direction that is best for all involved, it aids supplier and farmers, supports the shareholders and allows the company to prosper. A companies drive for social responsibility can be out of passion, for their brand image, purely for profits or any mix of motives, wether this pursuit is ethic, the actions of social responsibility are. Riding partners have come and gone, laws have evolved, and the public s perception of bikers has, thankfully, improved. The biking community is in a state of perpetual change, just like the world around it, but one thing remains constant: leather jackets. Both stylish and secure, leather has been relied upon by bikers throughout history to keep them safe from the elements and protect them during falls and crashes. The leather jacket is as synonymous with motorcycles as two wheels and an engine, but an increasing number of bikers are leaving behind their leather jackets in favor of alternatives of a different material, such as mesh or Kevlar. Some readers may be unfamiliar with the latter, which hasn t received as much publicity as some other protective materials, but if Kevlar motorcycle jackets can gain global attention, it is quite possible they can dethrone their leather opponents. Eliot on the other hand, was also categorized many times during his career. According to the Norton Anthology of Modern and Contemporary Poetry, its made clear that Eliot later in his life tried to pursue deracination further , giving credence to the fact that he didn t want to be stereotyped in any way. He was a foreigner because he was living in London, especially during a time when a world war was occurring, he was labelled a waste of talent by his father and he even was considered psychologically unstable after suffering from a mental breakdown in 1921 (Ramazani 461). I believe this idea of actively seeking change is so important to humanity, because what would we be without change? Nothing would ever get

The play was essential to Neelbidraha, or Indigo revolt of February March 1859 in Bengal, when farmers refused to plant indigo in their fields as a protest against exploitative farming under the British Raj. The preface to the play addresses the numerous indigo planters who are offered the neel darpan (the indigo mirror), so that they may take a look reflected in it . In this play it reflects the social, political and economic situations affected by the tyranny of the indigo planters which exploits the Indian peasants. The play is based on Mitra s experience as a postmaster in rural areas of Orissa and Bengal. He saw the indigo farmer s oppression very closely. The trials of the peasants were not only unjust but inhuman and exploitative in nature. Mitra wrote this play to raise a voice against the indigo planters, jamindars and British officials. Gradually the message spread all around and the voices of the peasants became the voice of the masses against the imperialism. This play s central theme is the exploitation of

Thus, a systematical investigation on the physical properties of rare earth elements doped Mn3AN is required and may also benefit us in further understanding their intrinsic physical properties and designing a new type of the device based on the antiperovskite compounds. In this study, Gd with a high TC of 289 K was selected to replace Cu, and a series of Mn3Cu1 xGdxN (x = 0.15, 0.17, 0.19, and 0.25) were synthesized. Additionally, low density lipoprotein related protein 1B (LRP1B), dynamin 1 (DMN1) and dynamin related protein 1 (DNM1L), which are involved in the process of endocytosis, are downregulated. Vesicle associated membrane protein 2 (VAMP2) is involved in the targeting and/or fusion of transport vesicles to their target membrane [28]. These results further suggest impaired lysosomal membrane trafficking pathways in MPS VII. Based on previous reports and results in this study, we hypothesize that GAG accumulation leads to alterations in the cytoskeletal system and thereby impairs lysosomal membrane pathways including endocytosis, exocytosis, autophagy and vesicle transport. Notably, endocytosis defects in brain endothelial cells may contribute to low transcytosis, making enzyme replacement therapy more difficult to achieve neurological benefits. Therefore, targeting specific pathways involved in transcytosis may be an effective strategy to enhance enzyme delivery to the brain in lysosomal diseases including MPS VII. 4.1.2 Proteostasis Many neurodegenerative diseases share a common molecular signature: disruption of proteostasis [29]. This often manifests as an accumulation of ubiquitylated proteins, with evidence for a robust contribution to

In the wake of the American Revolutionary War and the declaration of independence from Great Britain on July 4th, 1776, the newly liberated colonists sought to expand their land. The thirteen original British colonies were rooted in the eastern region of the territory, in relatively close proximity. While the former British citizens were excited to begin their new lives, overcrowding in the new states was a problem that required an immediate solution. Each colony was originally created with enough space to house its initial settlers according to its charter; however, births and increased migration to the New World began to cause congestion. The United Statesgovernment proposed one solution: westward expansion of North America. With the establishment of individual states, Americans from their very earliest beginnings believed that God had bestowed upon them a mission to spread their supreme civilization, in particularly, freedom, whether in religion, commerce, or race (Dobson 2013: 43). Under this influence of Christianity and entitlement, Anglo Saxon Americans believed that they had a given birth right to access any land on the continent of North America. It was first implemented during the height of the drug war hysteria and the long epidemic of the skyrocketing rates of incarceration. According to the Bureau of Justice Assistance (2010), drugcourts are a specially designed court docket, whose purpose is to achieve a reduction in recidivism and substance abuse among nonviolent substance abusing offenders and to increase the offender s likelihood of successful habilitation through, continuous, and intense judicially supervised treatment, mandatory periodic drug testing, community supervision, and use of appropriate sanctions and other rehabilitation services . Drug Courts were first launched in 1989 by the Miami Dade County area of Florida. A local prosecutor by the name of Janet Reno and a few other criminal justice professionals grew tired of seeing the same faces and same cases reappear in court so their solution to the problem was to combine drug treatment within the court like structure. The number of drug courts since then have proliferated to nearly 3,400 across the United Statesas of June 2014 (NIJ, 2015). More than half target adults and a growing number of juveniles, families, veterans, and various other case types. The innovation of drug courts alters how the court system handles and monitors drug involved cases and integrates the treatment aspect into their primary goals. Drug courts
  • 29. Reasons For Juvenile Delinquency Juvenile Delinquency and why they do it Juvenile delinquency is a big thing in the United States of America. The reason for this is that it accounts for a good portion of the percentage of crime, and it can lead to them committing crimes as an adult. There are many theories that we will discuss as reasons why these kids will end up as a statistic in juvenile delinquency and ways to slow down, if not stop, the numbers from becoming higher. What is Juvenile Delinquency First of all, you may be wondering, what is juvenile delinquency? Juvenile delinquency is crime committed by a child at the age of 18 and younger, that if committed by an adult would end up in court or prison (Wilson,2000). That means that just because a kid skipped school does not mean he or she would be considered a juvenile delinquent, but if that same child committed murder, rape, robbery, assault, etc. he or she would be considered a juvenile delinquent(Wilson,2000). Be careful with this as every state, federal government, etc. may have their own definition that may be a little different in the writing or the age at which they follow. Juvenile Delinquency Statistics There are many statistics out there for juvenile delinquency from what age or grade they are most likely to commit a crime to what race, sex and if there is a better chance to commit a crime do to divorce, being around drugs or gangs, and etc(Hawkins,2000). All of these different things could be causes or risk factors for juvenile delinquency, but does not guarantee that these kids would be criminal s later in live. One of those is the reason that juvenile delinquency needs to be looked at more and fixed is, juveniles are involved or committed at least a quarter of all serious violent act, not to include murder in the past 25 years.(Juvenile Justice) In 1999 around 2.5 million juveniles were arrested and 104,000 were due to violent crimes. There were 1.7 million juvenile delinquency cases in the courts in 1997. (Juvenile Justice) About 2,000 were from homicide, 6,5oo for rape, 67,900 for assault and the rest were things related with drugs. (Juvenile Justice) With these numbers it shows why considering juvenile delinquency is very important to get that number down that it will

Flat cuts are better used as inlays to accentuate the center of the ring than as the centerpiece themselves. The clarity of an opal ring is absolutely crucial. Small sand particles often get stuck in opal stones, and if they are big enough they can mar the surface or interior of the stone. This will absolutely ruin the overall aesthetic of the ring, and detract from its value. The perfect opal ring will also have a fantastic setting. The most popular choices for this are gold and white gold. This depends on the colors of the opal, so it must be decided on a case by case basis. As a general rule of thumb, offsetting the color of the band material with the color of the opal will draw more attention to the ring, helping it to stand out and be noticed. Another reason that leads to his actions, which is also the reason he wanted to strip the importance of his receival of the name Tobias and call himself Jack instead, is his father who blatantly abandoned him and his mother for a luxurious life. Focus changes numerously from fear, to gun rights, to ever changing religious views in the nation, and her argument lacks the clarity that it began with. In her effort to almost brag about how well read she is, Marilynne completely loses sight of the purpose and the attention of the reader. Robinson emphasizes some her argument on employing logical persuasion to counteract her shortcomings in credibility. It s frequent that events in history can repeat themselves, and understanding the implications of past actions helps to prevent future mistakes. Fear is an emotion that is, in our society today, unavoidable. Yet, this is precisely what creates an atmosphere of political or social unrest within the nation and abroad. Because, it serves as a tool by which ideas can be spread or perhaps forced down upon those easily convinced. She cites guns as being a prime example of this case, saying: gun sales stimulate gun sales, and when people see weapons, they have every reason on earth to fear the worst (4 Robinson). Fear is better described as being contagious . As the threat of violence, for example, increases, the perceived need for violence in retaliation increases. The logical response

Tristan and Isolde engage in a secretive love affair that results in banishment and tragedy. Through the duration of the tale, Tristan is so driven by his love and lust for Isolte that engages in deceiving his king and risking grave punishment. However, one could argue that Tristan is not driven humanly desire but by the magical force of the potion that was accidentally given to him and Isolte by Brangein. It is the potion that had caused them to fall deeply in love with each other and could be driving Tristan s desire. Although this is a valid assumption, it can be refuted by the fact that towards the end of the tale we are told that the effects of the potion eventually wear off, but we know Tristan continues to have feelings of love and lust for Isolde even after this point is made. The best way to decide what desires drive Tristan to behave as he does is to examine the reasons that led him to certain circumstances. Modernity(ies) and modernizations in Latin America Despite some authors highlight ancients forms of communication or even proto communication during pre colonial times in Latin America (Ferreira, 2006), professional journalism as we currently know it is actually a product of Modernity (Nerone, 2012). Modernity is, overall, an unfinished western project (Habermas, 1983) and its very conditions of possibility are strongly rooted in colonialism as its very spatial and material dimensions. So, colonialism fluxes and influxes not only spread the intellectual project of the Enlightenment at the same time its imperialistic vocation of domination, but also cultural practices that have been adopted/adapted in complex and complicated ways by the colonized. Therefore, the introduction of modern technologies such as press and journalism simultaneously carried out the ideals of Enlightenment and embedded colonization, exploitation, a global division of racial labor, and the production of a differentiate humanity (Quijano, 2000). The concept of Modernity has been highly problematized by Latin American thinkers (GarcГa Canclini, 1992b; MartГn Barbero, 1995; MartГn Barbero White, 1993; Quijano, 2000) as a Western construct, a colonial enterprise, and a failed project. The Importance Of Motivation In The Workplace The Importance of Appreciation The goal is to create a healthy workplace where team members receive and communicate appreciation, and where quality trusting relationships are built in order to advance the church s values and goals. Chapman and White write about the need for team members to feel appreciated in the workplace. They explain that the majority of workers do not feel appreciated or are under appreciated. This, according to the authors, is a major dilemma. They contend that feeling unappreciated or under appreciated is a major reason for high turnover in the workplace. Chapman and White argue that appreciationmeets a fundamental need of all people. They assert that when this need is met, people feel satisfaction and that will translate in the workplace. Furthermore, by showing appreciation, team members are motivated to continually give their best work. Motivationis imperative for a successful church. Dr. Bartel (2016) describes motivation as, The human force that initiates, guides and sustains goaloriented behaviors. It is what causes humankind to act to fulfill desired goals. Dr. Bartel insists that motivation comes from within a person, which creates the desire to do what he wants to do. Similarly, Dr. Beckwith (2016) defines motivation as, A desire to achieve a goal, combined with the energy to work towards that goal. In other words, motivation creates an inward drive to accomplish a task, and motivation creates the fuel to finish the

  • 51. Privatization Reform During Latin America Conclusion Since the 1980s, transnational actors have disseminated ideas of education privatization throughout Latin America. Although by similar means, these policy ideas arrived at different historical moments at Chile and Argentina. Privatization ideas made its way in Chile carried by the influential Chicago boys, during the critical juncture of the authoritarian regime. The market based reform served the interests of the military regime, and faced very little resistance given the repression and dismantling of the teacher union, and the penetration of the economic logic in the Ministry of Education. Timing, carriers and weak opposition allowed a complete replacement of the domestic education policy. Later in democracy, state oriented education bureaucrats were not able to reverse the policy change. Although they tried to build on the inherited model and use the state as a way to correct the failures of the education market, the inconsistency between their goals and their means ended up reproducing and strengthening the privatized model. By contrast in Argentina, the economic perspective arrived timidly and late when the country was making its transition to democracy.
