Teenage Depression Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of teenage depression is a challenging endeavor that requires a
delicate balance of empathy, research, and analytical skills. Addressing such a sensitive and
complex subject necessitates a deep understanding of the psychological and emotional struggles
faced by teenagers. One must navigate through a myriad of factors contributing to teenage
depression, including societal pressures, academic stress, family dynamics, and the influence of
social media.
The difficulty lies in presenting a comprehensive view while avoiding oversimplification.
Striking the right tone is crucial, as the topic demands both compassion and objectivity. It's
essential to provide accurate information, backed by credible sources, to support any claims
made throughout the essay. Additionally, staying up-to-date with the latest research findings and
statistics adds another layer of complexity to ensure the essay is relevant and informative.
Moreover, the writer must be aware of the potential impact the essay may have on readers.
Sensitivity is required to avoid further stigmatizing or sensationalizing the issue. Balancing
realism with hope is key to offering a nuanced perspective on teenage depression, acknowledging
its severity while highlighting potential avenues for support and intervention.
In conclusion, crafting an essay on teenage depression involves a challenging process that
demands a careful and thoughtful approach. It is not merely about putting words on paper but
requires a genuine understanding of the subject matter and a commitment to raising awareness
while maintaining a respectful and informative tone.

Effects Of Teen Pregnancy On Teenage Pregnancy
Teen childbearing is associated with negative consequences for the adolescent
parents, their children, and society, (The Office of Adolescent Health, U.S.
Department of Health and Human Services). Teenage females associated with
childbearing expose themselves to many risks and negative effects that can affect
their future. Females result with many consequences due to teenage pregnancy. This
paper will strictly focus on the effects females experience through teenage pregnancy.
The reader will be able to develop an overall understanding of the causes of teen
pregnancy. Also, the reader will be able to distinguish the psychosocial effects on the
girl during adolescent pregnancy. The reader shall understand the risks of health
complications females experience through childbearing.
Teenage pregnancy could be defined as a teenage female between the ages of 13 19,
who becomes pregnant. Despite the fact that it is not inevitable, some life
circumstances place adolescent girls at higher risk of becoming a teenage mother.
Poverty has a strong correlation with adolescent pregnancy. Other circumstances that
could influence the adolescent would be, living in single parent household, and
having a mother that was teenage mother. They are several indicators of why sexual
intercourse occurs during the adolescent years. Some examples would be early
pubertal advancement, sexual abuse, poverty, the absence of supporting parents, a
lack of education from poor school performance.

Rhetorical Analysis On Gender Bias
Questions for Rhetorical Analysis
1.What historical occasion gives rise to the need for investigation and the creation of
this text?
Gender Bias is being taught and occurs unintentionally in our schools. Teachers
challenge boys more than girls. Sexism is so elusive, it is being taught every day
and educators are not even aware they are doing it.
2.Does the author come across as knowledgeable? fair? Does the speaker s reputation
convey a certain authority?
Author(s) have many case studies, two decades of research, grants for programs,
hours of classroom observation and statistical information as evidence.
There seemed to be some bias towards the male gender, there was not enough
information disclosed about the demographics of the schools or the ... Show more

9.What is the structure of the article; how is it arranged? What effect does the
structure of the article have, and does this aid or hinder the author s intention?
The structure of the article would be Cause and Effect, the article points out
serious issues and blames gender bias. The writer explains how being gender bias
affects girls, especially in education. The writer could have went more into the
cause and effect gender bias has on boys. Teachers might have reason to
specifically pay more attention to boys, maybe to keep them engaged. The teacher
might know the girls are fine when she turns her back. The rotten boy in the back
might whip a spitball at her if she turns her back on the boys, and she knows it. (This
was only added for humor)
A teacher with gender bias might unintentionally effect how a class participates, if
girls are never called during a discussion, they will probably quit raising their hands.

General Community Hospital
1. What factors raised concerns among the hospital s managers about the viability of
the facility as a general community hospital, and how did the market analysis validate
those concerns? Factors that raised concern included the fact that the general hospital
was not profitable and that the competition included three large providers with
unlimited resources. Being in this situation, management must have understood that
their organization was in need of a change, and needed to differentiate themselves
from the competition. With this, they then conducted a market analysis to better
understand to the community needs, the competition, and future demands of the
immediate market area. In doing so, they were able to find that they were
The Tyger By William Blake
Successful businessmen will tell you that its how you treat the lower level
employees that will determine your success. If those who do the grunt work are
happy, the company will likely prosper. This notion dates back to the chivalric era
in which knights and noblemen would place their trust in the blacksmith to forge
high quality armour and weapons. The blacksmith was held in high regard for a
lower class citizen, and became a sort of anomaly in the hierarchy of a kingdom.
William Blake evokes the image of a blacksmith as creator in his poem The Tygerto
comment on the social and political situations of the times. He chooses a rough, rude
and labour driven artist as a way of rejecting the aesthetic features of art for more
practical, albeit destructive forms.
A blacksmith is an artist of war, a creator of destruction. The tiger is the object of
destruction. The speaker is questioning the creator as to why he would create
something so powerful yet destructive, the same questions one would likely ask a
blacksmith as he creates his weapons of war. The inquisitive tone of the poem
allows the speaker to wonder about the things that are created for destruction and
why their creator would allow them to exist. The tiger is one of those creations, as
the speaker enquires in the first and last stanza in almost an apostrophic tone, What
immortal hand or eye. / Could [Dare] frame thy fearful symmetry? (Blake 3 4, 23 24
line 24 differentiation noted in brackets). The speaker is
Sunday On La Grande Jatte Analysis
Imagine a painting comprised of thousands of tiny dots that have been strategically
placed in a pattern to form an image. The pioneer of pointillism and Neo
impressionism Georges Pierre Seurat sparked a new art movement and painting
technique which was associated with creating the appearance of solid figures using
points of pure color grouped together. His creation of this art style was inspired by
his desire to abandon Impressionism. Seurat s most famous paintings of the 19th
century is the art piece made by Frenchman Georges Seuratcalled A Sunday Afternoon
on La Grande Jatte which uses the pointillismapproach. It was painted between 1885
1886. The technique he chose took much longer to produce, which is why it took him
more than two years... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From the figures in the painting, you can see sunbathers, soldiers, men in top hats,
women with parasols, dogs, and a monkey. According to an article, it states that a
monkey in French (and female) is known as singesse, denoting a prostitute. The
smartly dressed woman is fishing but for what ( Seurat s Grande Jatte , n.d.). I
found this interesting because when I first saw this painting, I first assumed it was
just a regular painting of wealthy citizens relaxing and did not suspect anything of
the monkey strangely being present. The women on the right is holding a leash to
the monkey which many critics suspect that Seurat is trying to say through
symbolism that this woman is a prostitute who is out for a stroll with her client and
that she is fishing for more. On the left of the photo, you see a woman dressed in
orange fishing by the water, which seems innocent. According to an online dictionary,
the French word for fish is pГЄcher , which some believe is a plan on word as the
French word for sin is pГ©cher (Dave, The Psychology of Geometry ). References to
prostitution used the words pГЄche (fishing) and pГ©chГ© (sin) a lot in French
cartoons. The artist may be hinting that they are both prostitutes and demonstrates the
art piece s satirical nature. Not only are they suspect prostitutes, but they may have
been proletarian women that have become superficially bourgeois through
prostitution. Seurat adds another perspective to the comparison of the proletariat and
the bourgeoisie, hinting the superficiality and immorality behind the high class
Post Revisionist Approach To The Cause Of The Cold War
The historian who wrote this extract kept a post revisionist approach to reach a
judgement for who caused the Cold War in his beginning paragraph . Post revisionist
historians blames neither side but instead blames the foundation of mutual
misunderstanding which was always there. This idea was first introduced by the
leading post revisionist historian John Lewis Gaddis during the late 1900s. There are
few reasons why I concluded that the writer kept post revisionist approach.
First of all , in his beginning he stated that the civil war was the product not of a
decision but of a dilemma . This is where his main idea begins which is that Cold War
was not something the opposite powers wanted but instead it was something
inevitable due to the misunderstandings . Each side not deemed to trust each other
but saw one s defensive measures as a threat . He stated that Russians concluded
that the west was resuming its old course of capitalist encirclement this shows that
each sides were already aware of the possible upcoming misconceptions as well as
the clash of different ideologies( which is shown as the foundation if anti soviet
regimes). So far it was apparent that the 2 powers would want to keep their security
after the WW2 , but their security actions misfortunately created discomfort and
suspicion for each other . Writer suggests that at this circumstance the only way over
this was to win over each other and that s what happened . ... Show more content on

He triggers that even though the both were to blame for the cause , one side has to
put more weight than other because at this rate Cold War was manageable and could
be avoided. So in his upcoming paragraphs he surfaces more reasons as follows
Land Development Essay
Construction/Job Site Inspections
Land Development
Another great use for drones in field of land development is for conceptual site
plans. Too often we find ourselves trying to decipher a pixelated Google Earth map
that hasn t been updated in the last couple of years. This is especially handy when
looking at redeveloping sites, since there is often not much original design
information available from the seller or local jurisdictions. The two images below
are aerial shots taken above the same site. The image on the left is from Google Earth,
and the image on the right is from a drone with a 12 MP camera. It is much easier to
spot the true current condition of the lot from the drone image, and from that we can

Rotary wing DRONEs are adding a new dimension by being able to offer a different
perspective for these inspections. These DRONEs can hover and operate below the
conductor on the tower. High definition, image stabilized cameras that provide details
of hardware, insulators and mounting assemblies are now available, but before
DRONEs, this could only be seen by someone climbing the structure. If LiDAR
equipment is added to the payload, the transmission line inspection also can include 3
D imaging from many different angles never before available. This is invaluable for
tasks such as vegetation management and clearance compliance.
Transmission providers are not the only energy providers using DRONEs; the
generation side of the business has found many applications for these remarkable
devices, as has the renewable energy sector. A power plant has many areas requiring
inspection to determine what maintenance needs to be performed, ranging from the
inside of boilers to the maze of piping found in plants. Wind and solar farms also
require a great deal of inspection for maintenance. Turbines are complex, and
technicians cover everything from the tip of the turbine blade to the tower that
supports the nacelles.
By using a DRONE for these inspections, there is no need to place personnel in
dangerous positions requiring high lift buckets, slings
How Does Romeo Mature
While in The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet the two teens, Romeo and Juliet, make
bad decisions, they do mature throughout the story. When At the beginning of the
story, Romeo seemed to be very indecisive about his relationships, Friar Lawrence
even pointed this out to him when Romeo told him that he now is in love with
Juliet. Juliet matured when she decided to marry Paris. Both of the kids had to
mature in some way otherwise they would have died before the end of the actual
story. Romeo and Juliet maturing were good for both the story and the characters.
At the beginning of the story, Romeo was in love with Rosaline. Romeo is still a
teen and he is very indecisive about who he likes. But, after Romeo meets Juliet, he
instantly falls in love with her and he has no feelings for anyone else. This shows
Romeo becoming more mature because Romeo s actions show that he truly is in
love and doesn t have feelings for anyone else. If Romeo was like most teens, he
wouldn t be very serious about this Relationship he has with Juliet, most teens are not
very mature and will most likely not stay loyal to their partner. But Romeo does and
that shows that he has matured because Romeo can stay loyal to one partner.... Show

When Juliet got married to Romeo, her father came to her with the news that she
would be getting married to Paris. Juliet didn t want to be married to Paris, mother
and father threatened to kick her out of their house and disown her. Even though
Juliet didn t want to be married to Paris, she was willing to marry him because she
knew that it was the best option for her. This shows Juliet becoming more mature
because, like adults, Juliet was willing to compromise to get a better result. If Juliet
would not have gained this maturity, then she most likely would not have married
Paris, been kicked out onto the streets and would have
Jeremy Bentham s Theory Of The Panopticon
In February of 2004, an advanced prison system was born for all the world to take
part of. The prison, which was designed for a younger generation, was built to
monitor all inmates at all hours of the day, convert what was once a manual process
to automatic, and to collect personal information from each individual. The lockup is
host to billions of inmates, each having their own cell. One might assume this prison
is a building, but it is more a state of mind. Located in the public s view, where all
can see it each and every day, anyone is able to join and only takes a click of a
mouse. This prison is Facebook. Michel Foucault, a French philosopher, has brought
to attention insights that help clarify how power and discipline work together to
create surveillance for a large group. Foucault passed away before the birth of the
internet, but has provided society with knowledge on how surveillance is applicable
to the online world. In the essay Panopticism, Foucault expands on Jeremy Bentham s
theory of the panopticon. Proposed by Bentham in the mid 19th century, the
panopticon is a prison which was used to observe inmates constantly (Torres,
2017). The prison has a tower in the middle, where each inmate can be seen from
the tower by a guard (Foucault, 1975, 200). Therefore, the prisoners always think
they are being watched as they cannot see who is in the tower, or if there even is
anyone in the tower watching. Foucault describes this in his essay as being the major

The students watched this video, then discussed what they thought were the
important take aways. The main points the teachers seemed to want the students to
take away from that video is what causes earth quakes, what are the strongest type of
earthquake, and how do we measure earthquakes. The second video the class watched,
showed video footage of the aftermath of some earthquakes that have happened in
history. The video showed destruction of buildings, and how earthquakes can cause
tsunamis and the destruction that tsunamis also cause. The point of this video was to
show the students how important the engineering of building is, and got them to start
thinking about their own bridges and how they can withstand an earthquake. We did
not directly discuss bridges this week though, our focus was primarily on earthquakes.
When we broke up into our teams, my team was trying to answer two specific
questions; what are the effects of an earthquake? And can we build earthquake proof
buildings. I worked with two boys in the class, Kendall and Sean to help answer
these questions. To answer these questions each of the students had a laptop and used
Google Classroom to access links to websites the teachers provided to answer these
questions. We discussed what the effects of an earthquake are, this included
destruction of buildings, fatalities,

Tupac was named after the South American Revolutionary Tupac Amaru. Before
he started his music career, Tupac began his career as a roadie back up dancer for
the alternative hip hop group Digital Underground, eventually branching off as a
solo artist. Most of the themes in Shakur s songs revolved around the violence and
hardship in the inner cities, racism, and other issues that involved social things.
During the latter part of his career, Shakur was a vocal participant during the East

rappers, producers, and record label staff members. Aside from his career in music,
Shakur was also a poet and an actor. All eyez on me was the fourth studio album by

The Quality Of The American Government

The Quality of the American Government
Ever since the government was put in place in America, two fundamental questions
have emerged distinctly: how should the government rule its followers? Moreover,
what should the government do? America gained independence in 1776 after Richard
Henry Lee moved a motion in the Continental Congress requiring Britain to grant the
country its independence. The motion was approved on July, 2nd the same year.
Thomas Jefferson wrote the declaration of independence, which justified a revolution.
Today, historians study and interpret the declaration as a philosophy (Matzke, 14).

On the other hand, when John Kerry claims that tax cuts are only meant to benefit the
rich, objective onlookers such as Lakoff, it states that he is positioning himself as an
opportunistic liberal, fishing for votes (Iyengar, 2005).
The following discussion reveals how framers of the 1787 American Constitution
intentionally wrote conflict into the constitution, and how it has affected the
performance of public office holders in America today. Focus will be placed on the
factors that necessitated the development of the current being of the constitution, and
why conflict defines the actions of leaders today.
Over the years, political scientists have expressed their disapproval of American
elections. They have openly stated that presidential elections do not matter. The
reason being, is that they believe the outcome of elections is a result of forces outside
of the campaigner s influence. For example, the state of the economy, partisan
loyalties, and normative, communicative, and symbolic roles are all disconnected
from the influence of the campaigner. The latter mentioned aspects (anthropological),
according to political scientists, receive little attention from scholars, but their
impacts are very substantial. They restore confidence in governing institutions, result
in an upsurge in mutual feelings, and give the citizenry hope of a better governing
body after elections
Surrogate Motherhood Is Considered The Most
Controversial...
Surrogate motherhood is considered the most controversial form of medically
assisted conception. Surrogacy is defined as an arrangement by which a woman
gives birth to a baby on behalf of a woman who is incapable of conceiving babies
herself or is infertile. The issue of surrogacy has been running for almost three
decades. Elizabeth Cane was the first woman in the United States to legally become a
surrogate mother in 1980 (Chittom and Wagner). Surrogate births are illegal in many
countries, including some states in the United States. For example, it is illegal in
Michigan, Washington, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, and New York, whereas it legal
in California, Oregon, Texas, and Arkansas (Chittom and Wagner). According to the
Organization of Parents Through Surrogacy(OPTS), about 22,000 babies have been
born from surrogate mothers in the United States since surrogacy became legal in the
1970s (Chittom and Wagner).
There are two types of surrogacy: traditional surrogacy and gestational surrogacy. In
traditional surrogacy, the surrogate mother is impregnated using the sperm of the
intended father by a procedure called donor insemination. In this case, the surrogate
mother and the intended father are genetically related to the baby. In gestational
surrogacy, a procedure called in vitro fertilization is used to impregnate the surrogate
mother using a couple s fertilized ovum (Chittom and Wagner). There are two types
of surrogacy arrangements: altruistic and commercial. In
We Are The Boys From Old Britannia Poetic Devices
Songs and song lyrics can take many different forms. Like poetry, they tend to use
many different literary elements to convey a story. While most songs don t
necessarily have a rhyme scheme like some poems, they do however use elements
such as imagery, diction, and many more elements that can be found in poetry. The
four songs Rule Britannia , Land of Hope and Glory , Waltzing Matilda, and We are
the Boys from old Florida demonstrate the use of poetic elements to tell a story. Out
of all of these songs, none are more poetic than Rule Britannia . This song uses great
imagery, allowing the audience to immerse themselves in a stunning picture of the

This can be seen in its emotion. Just like poetry, this song has an ability to create
great emotion in those who hear it and are familiar with its meaning. To someone
who is apart of the Gator Nation, it can stir up a lot of different emotions. For a
University of Florida alumni it could bring back memories of their college days. It
could also tie some thoughts into the Florida Ubiquity if the alumni has relocated.
For a current student, it can bring the emotion of pride in being apart of one of the
best universities in the nation. Also, it can remind that student of the tradition of
locking arms and singing We are the Boys from Old Florida at the end of the third
quarter of every home football game. For all future students it could give them a
feeling of excitement. Being able to be a part of a great educational system that
one can be proud of is very exciting and fulfilling. Just like poetry, this song uses a
lot of imagery. It depicts the family of the Gator Nation in great light. It says, We
are the boys from old Florida. This showcases the Gator Nation as a group that is
proud. Next, it says, Where the girls the fairest... the boys the squarest of any old
state down our way. This tells the audience that the girls are the prettiest and the boys

The Champagne Fairs
The first of the three themes stated by Abu Lughod is the European Subsystem and
how it plays a roll in the world system. Three topics emerge from this theme: Cities of
the Champagne Fairs (51), Bruges and Ghent (commercial and industrial cities of
Flanders) (78), and the merchant mariners of Genoa and Venice (102). First,
Champagne fairs. Champagne fairs were an annual cycle of trading fairs held in
towns within the Champagne region. Unfortunately the Champagne region does not
involve champagne. The Champagne region is northeast of France, lying between the
boundaries of Belgium and Paris, not excluding contemporary North Africa.
Champagne fairs were crucial in rekindling medieval Europes economy. They served
as a primary market for selling and trading, textiles, fur, leather, and other cultural
products. There were a series of six fairs all located in prime trading spots
(Locations: Lagny sure marne, Bar sur Aube, Provins, Troyes). Over time each fair
became subtly more advanced, ultimately reaching a point of organization and
development that was beyond its time. Merchants, as rapacious as they were, began
to establish means of credit, contracts, and business partnerships for trade. Traders
that came from over seas reasoned the creation of systems that made for flexible and
efficient arrivals and departures. These traders even had delegated agents to receive
payments for them. Word of who had what spread quickly as communication and
transportation began to integrate.

Loanable Funds Market in Australia
1. Introduction:
The Reserve Bank of Australia is considering an increase in the target cash rate by 25
basis points in the near future. It is the intention of this report to analyse the positive
and negative impacts of a rise in interest rates on the loanable fund market in
Australia.
In order to analyse the impacts of an increase in interest rates on the loanable fund
market, the reasons behind the possible rate rise in the near future will be looked
upon.
Charts and diagrams have been used to illustrate the intention of this report and it is
hoped that by looking at these vital elements the intended user will be able to

Lenders would compete for borrowers, driving the interest rate down. Similarly, if the
interest rate in the market is less than the equilibrium rate, the quantity of funds
demanded would be greater than the quantity of funds supplied. The shortage of
loanable funds would result in upward pressure on the interest rate (Mankiw, 2001).
4. Effect of demand on Interest rates for Loanable Funds: The demand on interest
rates for loanable funds affects the Household sectors, Business sectors and
Government sectors.
4.1 Household Sectors: The impact of a rate rise decreases the demand for the
loanable funds from the household sector. As this foreseeable increase interest rate
could add $50 to the monthly repayments on a $300,000 mortgage. This may
discourage many new home buyers to differ from buying a house for now, due to the
added costs of taking out a mortgage during a period in which interest rates are
expected to be high.
However, at present in Australia the demand for housing is positive and high. The
household sector is doing very well, despite the Reserve Bank raising interest rates,
said Westpac senior economist Andrew Hanlan (Bourlioufas Wires, 2007). This is so
because the low petrol prices helped the household sector in doing well (Bourlioufas

Analysis Of Slumdog Millionaire
Rising from the slums to become a millionaire is one in a million chance. Yet,
Jamal, the main character of Slumdog Millionaire, has raised his life from living in
the slums to living the life a millionaire. With their mother dying, Jamal and his
brother started off in the slums living off trash and garbage. From experience,
Jamal was able to recall certain events and situations to help him answer certain
question on the Who wants to be a millionaire show. For example, Jamal was able to
answer the question, What does God Rama hold in his right hand? , by simply
remembering the time after his mother was killed and him and his brother, Salim,
were being chased. (Thesis) Not only did the plot of the movie made the movie
interesting and amazing to watch, but the acting, aging through camera transitions,
and overall goal of Jamal to find Latika throughout conflicts made Slumdog
Millionaire a amazing movie.
The acting of Slumdog Millionaire seemed to be integrated into the environment
and the setting of the slums. With the use of real children from the slums, the
movie seems to be very real as the children seem to already fit the descriptions of
being part of the slums. Living in India, I was able to understand the conditions and
lives of the people that lived around the slums. These people are recognized by the
majority of the public as being savages and uncivilized. The child actors that played
Jamal and Salim in the movie fit the description of being savages and uncivilized. For
example, Jamal jumped into the pile of poop from the outdoor bathroom to get to
Amitabh Bachchan to get his autograph. And as for Salim, Salim fit the description
of being uncivilized due to the fact he had no regards for other people s lives. A

Unprotected Sex Leads to an Increase in Pregnancy, Social...
Unprotected sex is becoming increasingly common today which brings an increase
in the risks of the effects; including pregnancy, social discrimination, and various
diseases. The majority of unprotected sex is acted upon within teenagers. However,
adults act upon this feat as well. While performing sexual proceedings, you use a
condom to prevent the corrupting effects due to unprotected sex from happening to
you. In the absence of using a condom, the effects are amplified. Most people are
aware of the consequences of unprotected sex, although, the choice of using a
condom to protect you during sexual intercourse is still not always the prevailing
decision. Furthermore, people may not be fully aware of the serious impacts of...

Some teens that become pregnant are still in high school or just beginning a
college education. Pregnancy is a large responsibility that can intermittently be
disregarded. Thus, you don t have a choice but to be prepared for a child and the
responsibility that comes with pregnancy. Not only do you have to help nurture a
child and support them, it costs you a vast amount of money as well. As a teenager
and still in school, having enough money to sustain you and a child on your own is
very intricate. As a result, trying to finish school and accomplish future career goals
is difficult with less money and a child to care for. Social discrimination occurs as a
result of unprotected sex and as a result of pregnancy. Even considering most
teenagers have unprotected sex, girls especially, are discriminated against. Generally
they are discriminated against by other girls who themselves have unprotected sex
too. You become known as promiscuous even though other girls are just as guilty.
While teenagers that are pregnant are around other students their age that are not

dirt or clay surfaced oval track. There are various race car classes that range from
Hornets which are considered the least expensive all the way up to the Modified,
which is the most expensive class of race car to run on the race track. I personally
identify myself to be included in such a community due to the fact that ever since I
was the age of four, my father took up the sport of racing Modified s every

race track family (community). At the age of six my brother was very intrigued by

due to the fact that every set up is unique to each and every track due to the

The Endurance Of The Human Spirit Essay
African American Endurance

The endurance of the human spirit is always able to be seen through the eyes of
the less fortunate. Not to discredit any other race or say that any race is superior to
any other, however the enduring spirit of African Americans could be seen during
the 1800 s and still can be seen shining brightly today. When one thinks of
endurance, one tends to think about sustainability. In this case I am talking about
how long it would it take for the human spirit to broken and be conformed and
molded. There are a plethora of pivotal moments in history that led up to African
Americans having the ability to have a voice in America today, however I think there
are four events that shows the progress and that show how life in the United States
changed over time for African Americans. The events are the Compromise of 1877,
Jim Crow, First African Americanbeing signed to major league team, and the end of
Jim Crow.
The Compromise of 1877 was a deal made by Republicans as well as Democrats
secretly made to resolve issues stemming from the presidential election of 1876, when
both parties came to a realization that the outcome of the Presidential race hinged
largely on disputed returns from Florida, Louisiana and South Carolina which are at
the time the only three states in the South with reconstruction era Republican
governments still in power (Miller, 2013). It
Molly Cyrus Analysis
The song Molly Cyrus by Stitches is a popular rap song among college students. I
am a big fan of rap music and Stitches is one of my favorite rappers along with
Kanye West and Gucci Mane. Normally I would not listen to a song that is so
explicit, but I literally cannot escape this song. Molly Cyrus is played at every frat
party and always comes on when I am riding with my friends in the car. After
reading the prompt for this assignment I thought I would take a closer look at the
lyrics in this vulgar song.
In the song, Stitches talks about how if he was given the opportunity to have sex
with any pop star he would choose Miley Cyrus. This song also advocates for the
use of drugs like MDMA and Cocaine. Stitches literally says I love cocaine cause it
got me feelin like I m Superman . The way that Stitches administers his drug is ...

You would think that girls would condemn this song, but most of the girls I know
have this song on their spotify playlist. This song degrades women and explicitly
promotes rape culture. This song does not say anything about Miley s looks or
personality, it reduced Miley to a piece of ass that Stitches is welcome to penetrate
whenever he pleases. Stitches literally says Ima put my d*** up in your ass and it
ain t coming out . So how could so many people like a song that is literally about
raping a celebrity? Normalizing this disgusting behavior contributes to violence
against women.
College age women are the most likely demographic to be sexually assaulted so it
is really upsetting to me that women sing and dance along to a song that promotes
rape. The song Molly Cyrus does not show women in a positive light and promotes
sexual violence. After listening closely to the lyrics I will ask people to turn off this
vulgar song next time I hear someone play it because this song will only negatively

The enormous research gap that exists in this field in particular gives place to the
possibility of studying the fact from unexplored angles. While the lack of research in

Although SmoothPay has grown successfully as a business over a short period of
time, many significant challenges have arisen and must be considered in their next
strategic decisions to achieve a sustainable and long term growth. Despite SmoothPay
offering a unique product that allows their users to make mobile payments, the
majority of consumers prefer to do cash or credit card transactions. Because
SmoothPay is currently a small business, their brand has not yet been fully
recognized or established in their target market. As SmoothPay s rivals continue to
increase, the concept of using mobile payments in Canada continues to be slow.
Evolution of Mobile Payment
In January 2014, SmoothPay was first launched in Toronto, Ontario offering mobile
payments with integrated functions such as customizable loyalty programs and
solutions. In addition, this company s network has reached over 5,000 users and 100
merchants in their well connected partnerships and community in less than two years.
Despite this achievement, only a low percentage of consumers are using their
smartphones to make their daily purchases across Canada creating difficulty in
further promoting SmoothPay s business. However, SmoothPay has focused in
highly populated areas, such as universities. Therefore, this strategic decision has
increased some brand awareness. Since this product lets consumers to easily connect

Abortion By Judith Jarvis Thomson
Thomson s example shows that he is in support of the woman and her having the
right to say no. She has the right to walk away and say no to the violinist, even if
this means he dies. It is her body, and she did not give the violinist permission to
use it. The woman and the violinist are examples of rape in this case. If a man
physically rapes a woman, and she becomes pregnant, she has a right to an abortion
because she has not given the man or the fetus the right to use her body. Although the
abortion will kill the fetus, the woman s action is not unjust because the fetus did not
have the right to use her body. Now, if the woman voluntarily gave the violinist
permission to use her body for about nine months or years, and halfway through she

Welsh novel of The Mabinogion, in particular; the portrayal of the calumniated wife,
a theme which is recurrent through Medieval Welsh literature. I will focusing in
particular on how women s speech is represented and how their relationships with
other women and men are portrayed. I will also be looking at different female
protagonists self government and autonomy throughout the four branches.
Throughout my research I am expecting to find at least two different portrayals of

After this introduction to Rhiannon she later reiterates her authority and shows she
is not afraid to voice her opinions against an authoritative man. This can be seen
when Pwyll grants the man Rhiannon is due to marry anything he requests.
Rhiannon immediately judges his actions Never has a man been more stupid than
you have been (Davies 2007: 12). This characterization of Rhiannon is strong and
sure; she is assertive and dominant, often domineering. (Ford 2008: p.36 37).
Rhiannon s speech here displays her as a wise and learned individual. She is easily a
match for Pwyll, and has been described by McKenna (2006:1622) as a catalyst in
Pwyll s development as a competent ruler. This can be further seen as after Pwyll s
naГЇve mistake she takes control and concocts a plan to return to Pwyll in a year s
time. The words Rhiannon chooses show how she dominates the situation by
repeating the pronoun I . I ll see to it (Davies 2007: 12). This suggests she feels she
has to take control of the situation as Pwyll cannot, she thinks on her feet and
immediately knows what to do. Rhiannon is an outspoken woman and is not afraid
to force her opinion upon her husband and in doing so she carries the weight of the
Kingdom of Dyfed on her shoulders through the weaknesses of her husband. (Emrys
Evans 1978: 24). This is again displayed by her fixing his mistake. When looking at
the relationship between Rhiannon and Pwyll it is important to
Vanity In The Picture Of Dorian Gray
In my opinion, in Oscar Wilde s novel, The Picture of Dorian Gray, published in
1890, an interesting character is the central character, Dorian Gray. At the beginning
of the novel, Dorian appears to be a beautiful, naive and youthful character to readers,
until he is corrupted by vanity and appearences. Dorian makes a fraustian deal. He
will remain youthful and beautiful physically while a potrait painted of him will
reflect his age and his continuous guilty conscience. Dorian thinks that as long as he
remains physically attractive, then his personality will not matter. Throughout the
novel, readers see him bringing suffering, duplicity and death to all members in the
social circles that he switches to. For example, Dorian falls in love with... Show more

Dorian views his apperance as his most adored quality. Once Dorian realizes his
own physically beauty, from Lord Henry, his activity is influenced by appearances
and consequently, by vanity, from his desire for abiding youth at the start of the
novel to his despairing strive to demolish the potrait at the end of the novel. Even
Dorian s efforts at altriuism are compelled are inspired by a wish to ameliorate the
appearance of his soul. Vanity and appearance torment Dorian throughout the novel,
he appears to condemn his actions before he actually perpetrate s them. This is
interesting to readers because it shows that vanity is Dorian s true sin. From this,
we see that consequently, Dorian s plummet from finesse is because of his choice to
accept vanity and new experiences, whether moral or immoral as a merit at the
desire of Lord Henry. his manipulator. In the preface of The Picture of Dorian Gray,
Oscar Wilde states it is the spectator, and not life, that art really mirrors. This
particular feature was interesting and effective because Oscar Wilde provokes
readers to explore the unavoidable aspect of vanity and appearance in our own
relation to art. If people view ourselves in art and perceive art to be beautiful then we

Hiv And The Human Immunodeficiency Virus Essay
. Introduction HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is able to integrate its genome
into the host cell genome during infection (Ebina, Misawa, Kanemura, Koyanagi,
2013). This can lead to AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) if it is left
untreated. AIDS is caused by a very efficient and sneaky retrovirus. HIVcan remain
dormant for years once its DNAis in the genome of the host cells. The CRISPR/Cas9
(clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats) are segments of
prokaryotic DNA containing short repetitions of base sequences. Cas9 was the first
nuclease discovered. The focus of the CRISPR/Cas9 is to target a particular disease
causing geneand remove it.
II. CRISPR/Cas9 with HIV cell lines HIV infects CD4 + T cells. The viral particles
of HIV keep their genetic information stored as double stranded RNA. They use a
reverse transcriptase that converts their genome into double stranded DNA (Edina,
Misawa, Kanemura, Koyanagi, 2013). During this process the virus can mutate
quickly because many errors occur in the HIV genome. The DNA is inserted into the
host cell genome by integrases which use LTR (long terminal repeat) sequences on
the viral genome to integrate with the host DNA (Ebina, Misawa, Kanemura,
Koyanagi, 2013). This results in a provirus that can continuously produce new viruses
that infect other immune cells. Doctors can mix different antiretroviral drugs to help
with HIV, but once you stop the treatment the virus

question rules of grammar and synaptic normality. By the way, these poems disrupt
words, use non standard prose, and have ambiguous interpretations they break the
rules of grammar and disrupt the formal laws of language, inducing new ways of
about the how one produces meaning. Gertrude Stein was not always known as a
writer. She became... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A line just distinguishes it (Stein, p.6). While asking what is the flattering length
she ends up defining it by a line. A line can only be defined by a contour or outline.
It cannot be defined by actual matter. Therefore, the serene length ends up being
defined by not being able to be defined. This gives readers an unending openness to
interpretation and perspective. In Gertrude Stein s Water Raining she leaves the
reader without any certainty. Stein writes Water is astonishing and difficult
altogether makes a meadow and a stroke (Stein, p. 10). Without the use of
punctuation, the reader is able to interrupt the poem according to how one sees fit.
Placing a period after astonishing (Stein, p. 10) makes it so the meadow and
stroke are strenuous on their own. A period after altogether (Stein, p. 10) leave the
meadow and stroke to come as an aftermath from the water. While a period after
meadow (Stein, p. 10) gives serenity a meadow will come from water but, a stroke
is an afterthought. Stein was not the only one to use visual art to make literature.
bill bissett as a visual artist and writer links his worlds together. At first glance, bill
bissett s poetry seems to be hard to understand, nonsensical, and almost a fallacy.
bissett s use of synecdoche pushes the reader to reexamine how one reads a poem in
the first place. The poem flows from whole to part. Particularly in text bites the
words come across
Security Force
1. What is (describe) the framework for managing and leading a security force?
A security force is comprised of a team with a mix set of specific skills applicable to
mission accomplishment. The supervisor is learned how to be led and groomed to
be a leader. The successful security force must be coached and mentored by a person
with balanced leadership and organizational management skills. According to
Christopher (2009), the security force is managed and led by someone who can
enable the element to accomplish expected goals. They provide guidance in the face
of adversity. These challenges are growing pains in the development of a security
force and ensuring they are up to par with adapting to frequent changes to threat
analysis. The manager ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is not specific part within a facility worth more or less scrutiny considering
the criminal or terrorist will use the path of least resistance. Red cells may hurt
some organizations feelings, but they are an absolute must in erasing how good the
security force really is. I have never used my role in the red cell to make anyone
look bad, but to show where improvement are required. The manager of that security
force should take measures to correct red cell
Bread Produced with 100% Ontario Based Flour
In January, 2013 we began our experimental work by conducting detailed analysis
of results of bread produced with 100% Ontario based flour. Since direct
application of Ontario based flour resulted in excessive dryness, and reduced
volume of bread, we decided to conduct series of semi industrial trials in order to
adapt our present formula to new flourchemical composition. The objective of our
investigation in this phase was to apply Ontario flour, and get the breadwith the same
moisture, and volume as it is originally.
After this first attempt in January, 2013 we firstly tried to increase gluten structure.
Gluten is additive commonly used in bakery industry which primary function is to
enhance gas retention capacity, water absorption, and retention, as well as, increase
dough strength. Initially, our formula contained 3 4 % of gluten, and we tested
formulas with up to 10% of gluten. Increasing of gluten did not give significant
results, and formulas with 10% of gluten had increase of volume of about 10%. We
did not test formulas with more than 10% of gluten because it is very expensive
additive, and it is not economically to apply it in higher concentrations.
After learning that gluten does not give expected results, our next step was increasing
protein level by introducing the balancing the flours. We decided to introduce harder
wheat flours with higher concentration of proteins. Average protein level of Ontario
flour is 10.5%, while west flours contain 12.7 В±
The Evolution Of Owls
Owls are interesting nocturnal animals that have evolved in many ways other than
birds. There are over 200 different species of owls and they have all evolved
differently but they share some common characteristics. Some environmental
adaptations that owls have are silent flight, keen eyesight, and the ability to hunt.
Owls have silent flight which helps them catch prey. They also fly without much
effort, because their wings are large compared with the size of their bodies. With
large wings and a light body one can see an owl fly past but they will most likely
not hear them. Because of this owls can carry heavy animals, fly among thick trees,
and hover above open fields. Owls have silent flight from fringed feathers that muffle
the sound
Historical Inaccuracy in Braveheart
The idea that film is a medium in which a director can comment on the ills of society
has been around since the first motion picture was made. The problem with this fact
is that directors and producers often change the historical facts and even the attitudes
of the characters in order stimulate public interest through the striking of some
common chord that the public feels vigorously about. The story of William Wallacein
the movie Braveheartwhile historically fairly accurate in the depictions of the battles
while leaving out many important facts. Randall Wallace added some plot twists to
make the story more appealing to the audience. All the plot twists and inaccuracies
that were added in the movie Braveheart have several basic areas... Show more

In the movie, Wallace is introduced to the audience as a common man with very
humble beginnings whose father was a farmer. He was in fact not the son of a
common farmer but the son of a low level. Wallace first acted in anger against the
English when he was insulted by the son of an English governor and proceeded to
strike him dead and he began his military career. His military dream to free
Scotland started in May 1297 after the murder of Marion Braidfoot who is the
historical basis for the character Murron in Braveheart. Wallace won the battle of
Stirling; he was kind of disappointed when he remembered that he had to fight the
English king. The English king brought his army north. The English army had
infantry and archers as well as over 3000 cavalry. The Scottish army was only half
the size and had almost no cavalry. The Scottish army lost, Wallace however went
into hiding. The film Braveheart makes the audience believe that Wallace went
around killing his enemies in Scotland, there is however no historical evidence for
this belief. Politics were beginning to change due to the manipulations of Edward I
and even England s enemies wouldn t offer Wallace any help. After traveling to
France, germane and Rome he returns to Scotland after almost years abroad to find
out he was betrayed to the English by a Scottish noble named Sir John Menteith and
was turned over to the English for a trial. He was then taken to for trial and
execution. The film Braveheart is
Examples Of Narrative In The Thousand Faces Of Night
CHAPTER IV
Narrative technique in Githa Hariharan s The Thousand Faces of Night:
Narration is the telling of a story, and Narrative is the way you tell stories. It s the
glue that ties your creators to the to the plot events in your story. As well as elements
like scene setting, narrative includes description, so we ll deal with these features
together.
A storyteller uses narrative to tell the story _to relate what s fashionable, give a point
of view, and explain events, characters , responses, and so on. Narrative exists above
and beyond the plot and characters, though in a film or novel for example, narrative
can tell us things that the characters themselves do not know.
Hariharan, the internationally acclaimed Indo English writer has secured an enviable
position for herself among ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But it is not Devi s description alone that finds experience in it; the novelist has
entrenched so many other stories which are related to real life, to mythical page
(told by her grand mother, pati), to the life of musicians and about the females
ideal role (told by her father in law) as well. The variety of stories does not create
any harm to the meaning of the story and the aim of the novelist because the
skilfully interwoven plots give each other considerable meaning. The revolving
point of the story is Devi s life with all the mythical stories. All these are
inseparable part of the novel as all these stories and the real stories (connected with
these mythical narrations) present a glimpse of what will go on in the life of Devi
and put in the picture the truth of females fate in the patriarchal society. The novel
causes the readers encounter with the truth that how so ever the female get
educational capacities, how so ever the society may become modernised; but the
females will be exploited in all the ages and their condition will remain as still as it
was years ago during the mythical
Textual Analysis Of Hate Speech
Discursive practices were evident in this article as ideologies were discussed
(Schroder, 2012:115), for example minority and majority groups were analysed
according to the comments of hate speech as people in Slovenia write hate speech
towards editors or political groups that they don t agree with and to influence
political participation (Erjavec KovaДЌiДЌ, 2012:917). This emphasises the fact that
with the use of discursive practices and discourse analysis one can gain insight about
a particular issue and construct opinions regarding the use of hate speech (Schroder,
2012:115). With the help of critical discourse analysis the author was able to find the
reasons and values behind hate speech. This influences the argument stating that the

This is evident as four strategies regarding hate speech which came about from the
critical discourse analysis of the comments were analysed. The first strategy is known
as the rearticulation of the meaning of news items and so they change the meaning
and refer to politics and nationality. The second strategy is the rearticulation of
domestic political topics, the third strategy is the rearticulation of events and
situations and the fourth strategy is the attack on certain celebrities opinions (Erjavec
KovaДЌiДЌ, 2012:907 908). This emphasises the effectiveness of the analysis of
text and how important it is to deeply analyse the posts and identify the meanings
behind them. These strategies influence the author s arguments stating that most of
hate speech is directed towards an opposite side and that all hate speech is based on
political issues (Erjavec KovaДЌiДЌ,

What factors raised concerns among the hospital s managers about the viability of the facility as a general community hospital, and how did the market analysis validate those concerns? Factors that raised concern included the fact that the general hospital was not profitable and that the competition included three large providers with unlimited resources. Being in this situation, management must have understood that their organization was in need of a change, and needed to differentiate themselves from the competition. With this, they then conducted a market analysis to better understand to the community needs, the competition, and future demands of the immediate market area. • 5. The Tyger By William Blake Successful businessmen will tell you that its how you treat the lower level employees that will determine your success. If those who do the grunt work are happy, the company will likely prosper. This notion dates back to the chivalric era in which knights and noblemen would place their trust in the blacksmith to forge high quality armour and weapons. The blacksmith was held in high regard for a lower class citizen, and became a sort of anomaly in the hierarchy of a kingdom. William Blake evokes the image of a blacksmith as creator in his poem The Tygerto comment on the social and political situations of the times. He chooses a rough, rude and labour driven artist as a way of rejecting the aesthetic features of art for more practical, albeit destructive forms. A blacksmith is an artist of war, a creator of destruction. The tiger is the object of destruction. The speaker is questioning the creator as to why he would create something so powerful yet destructive, the same questions one would likely ask a blacksmith as he creates his weapons of war. The inquisitive tone of the poem allows the speaker to wonder about the things that are created for destruction and why their creator would allow them to exist. The tiger is one of those creations, as the speaker enquires in the first and last stanza in almost an apostrophic tone, What immortal hand or eye. / Could [Dare] frame thy fearful symmetry? (Blake 3 4, 23 24 line 24 differentiation noted in brackets). The speaker is

Sunday On La Grande Jatte Analysis Imagine a painting comprised of thousands of tiny dots that have been strategically placed in a pattern to form an image. The pioneer of pointillism and Neo impressionism Georges Pierre Seurat sparked a new art movement and painting technique which was associated with creating the appearance of solid figures using points of pure color grouped together. His creation of this art style was inspired by his desire to abandon Impressionism. Seurat s most famous paintings of the 19th century is the art piece made by Frenchman Georges Seuratcalled A Sunday Afternoon on La Grande Jatte which uses the pointillismapproach. It was painted between 1885 1886. The technique he chose took much longer to produce, which is why it took him more than two years... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From the figures in the painting, you can see sunbathers, soldiers, men in top hats, women with parasols, dogs, and a monkey. According to an article, it states that a monkey in French (and female) is known as singesse, denoting a prostitute. The smartly dressed woman is fishing but for what ( Seurat s Grande Jatte , n.d.). I found this interesting because when I first saw this painting, I first assumed it was just a regular painting of wealthy citizens relaxing and did not suspect anything of the monkey strangely being present. The women on the right is holding a leash to the monkey which many critics suspect that Seurat is trying to say through symbolism that this woman is a prostitute who is out for a stroll with her client and that she is fishing for more. On the left of the photo, you see a woman dressed in orange fishing by the water, which seems innocent. According to an online dictionary, the French word for fish is pГЄcher , which some believe is a plan on word as the French word for sin is pГ©cher (Dave, The Psychology of Geometry ). References to prostitution used the words pГЄche (fishing) and pГ©chГ© (sin) a lot in French cartoons. The artist may be hinting that they are both prostitutes and demonstrates the art piece s satirical nature. Not only are they suspect prostitutes, but they may have been proletarian women that have become superficially bourgeois through prostitution. Seurat adds another perspective to the comparison of the proletariat and the bourgeoisie, hinting the superficiality and immorality behind the high class
  • 7. Post Revisionist Approach To The Cause Of The Cold War The historian who wrote this extract kept a post revisionist approach to reach a judgement for who caused the Cold War in his beginning paragraph . Post revisionist historians blames neither side but instead blames the foundation of mutual misunderstanding which was always there. This idea was first introduced by the leading post revisionist historian John Lewis Gaddis during the late 1900s. There are few reasons why I concluded that the writer kept post revisionist approach. First of all , in his beginning he stated that the civil war was the product not of a decision but of a dilemma . This is where his main idea begins which is that Cold War was not something the opposite powers wanted but instead it was something inevitable due to the misunderstandings . Each side not deemed to trust each other but saw one s defensive measures as a threat . He stated that Russians concluded that the west was resuming its old course of capitalist encirclement this shows that each sides were already aware of the possible upcoming misconceptions as well as the clash of different ideologies( which is shown as the foundation if anti soviet regimes). So far it was apparent that the 2 powers would want to keep their security after the WW2 , but their security actions misfortunately created discomfort and suspicion for each other . The prison, which was designed for a younger generation, was built to monitor all inmates at all hours of the day, convert what was once a manual process to automatic, and to collect personal information from each individual. The lockup is host to billions of inmates, each having their own cell. One might assume this prison is a building, but it is more a state of mind. Foucault passed away before the birth of the internet, but has provided society with knowledge on how surveillance is applicable to the online world. In the essay Panopticism, Foucault expands on Jeremy Bentham s theory of the panopticon. Proposed by Bentham in the mid 19th century, the panopticon is a prison which was used to observe inmates constantly (Torres, 2017). The prison has a tower in the middle, where each inmate can be seen from the tower by a guard (Foucault, 1975, 200). Therefore, the prisoners always think they are being watched as they cannot see who is in the tower, or if there even is anyone in the tower watching. Foucault describes this in his essay as being the major effects of

The Quality Of The American Government Bailey Kelso Professor Garvin POLS 101 9 August 2015 The Quality of the American Government Ever since the government was put in place in America, two fundamental questions have emerged distinctly: how should the government rule its followers? Moreover, what should the government do? America gained independence in 1776 after Richard Henry Lee moved a motion in the Continental Congress requiring Britain to grant the country its independence. The motion was approved on July, 2nd the same year. Thomas Jefferson wrote the declaration of independence, which justified a revolution. For example, the state of the economy, partisan loyalties, and normative, communicative, and symbolic roles are all disconnected from the influence of the campaigner. The latter mentioned aspects (anthropological), according to political scientists, receive little attention from scholars, but their impacts are very substantial. They restore confidence in governing institutions, result in an upsurge in mutual feelings, and give the citizenry hope of a better governing body after elections

Surrogacy is defined as an arrangement by which a woman gives birth to a baby on behalf of a woman who is incapable of conceiving babies herself or is infertile. The issue of surrogacy has been running for almost three decades. Elizabeth Cane was the first woman in the United States to legally become a surrogate mother in 1980 (Chittom and Wagner). Surrogate births are illegal in many countries, including some states in the United States. For example, it is illegal in Michigan, Washington, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, and New York, whereas it legal in California, Oregon, Texas, and Arkansas (Chittom and Wagner). According to the Organization of Parents Through Surrogacy(OPTS), about 22,000 babies have been born from surrogate mothers in the United States since surrogacy became legal in the 1970s (Chittom and Wagner). There are two types of surrogacy: traditional surrogacy and gestational surrogacy. In traditional surrogacy, the surrogate mother is impregnated using the sperm of the intended father by a procedure called donor insemination. In this case, the surrogate mother and the intended father are genetically related to the baby. In gestational surrogacy, a procedure called in vitro fertilization is used to impregnate the surrogate mother using a couple s fertilized ovum (Chittom and Wagner). There are two types of surrogacy arrangements: altruistic and commercial. In

Yet, Jamal, the main character of Slumdog Millionaire, has raised his life from living in the slums to living the life a millionaire. With their mother dying, Jamal and his brother started off in the slums living off trash and garbage. From experience, Jamal was able to recall certain events and situations to help him answer certain question on the Who wants to be a millionaire show. For example, Jamal was able to answer the question, What does God Rama hold in his right hand? , by simply remembering the time after his mother was killed and him and his brother, Salim, were being chased. (Thesis) Not only did the plot of the movie made the movie interesting and amazing to watch, but the acting, aging through camera transitions, and overall goal of Jamal to find Latika throughout conflicts made Slumdog Millionaire a amazing movie. The acting of Slumdog Millionaire seemed to be integrated into the environment and the setting of the slums. With the use of real children from the slums, the movie seems to be very real as the children seem to already fit the descriptions of being part of the slums. Living in India, I was able to understand the conditions and lives of the people that lived around the slums. These people are recognized by the majority of the public as being savages and uncivilized. The child actors that played Jamal and Salim in the movie fit the description of being savages and uncivilized. For example, Jamal jumped into the pile of poop from the outdoor bathroom to get to Amitabh Bachchan to get his autograph. And as for Salim, Salim fit the description of being uncivilized due to the fact he had no regards for other people s lives. A perfect example is when Salim was in charge of all the other children in the child slave ring, Salim at one point took away a baby from another girl to give it to Latika. In this scene, Latika didn t want to hold the baby but had to hold the baby because Salim threaten to drop it. Overall, the acting of Slumdog Millionaire was amazing because of many reasons. Reasons including the fact that the actors that played Jamal, Salim, and Latika were real children from the slums of India which means

The Endurance Of The Human Spirit Essay African American Endurance Bernard Kenan Ashford University HIS206: United States History II Betsy Anderson 10/31/2016 The endurance of the human spirit is always able to be seen through the eyes of the less fortunate. Not to discredit any other race or say that any race is superior to any other, however the enduring spirit of African Americans could be seen during the 1800 s and still can be seen shining brightly today. When one thinks of endurance, one tends to think about sustainability. In this case I am talking about how long it would it take for the human spirit to broken and be conformed and molded. There are a plethora of pivotal moments in history that led up to African Americans having the ability to have a voice in America today, however I think there are four events that shows the progress and that show how life in the United States changed over time for African Americans. The events are the Compromise of 1877, Jim Crow, First African Americanbeing signed to major league team, and the end of Jim Crow. The Compromise of 1877 was a deal made by Republicans as well as Democrats secretly made to resolve issues stemming from the presidential election of 1876, when both parties came to a realization that the outcome of the Presidential race hinged largely on disputed returns from Florida, Louisiana and South Carolina which are at the time the only three states in the South with reconstruction era Republican governments still in power (Miller, 2013). Stitches literally says Ima put my d*** up in your ass and it ain t coming out . So how could so many people like a song that is literally about raping a celebrity? Normalizing this disgusting behavior contributes to violence against women. College age women are the most likely demographic to be sexually assaulted so it is really upsetting to me that women sing and dance along to a song that promotes rape. The song Molly Cyrus does not show women in a positive light and promotes sexual violence. • 35. Hiv And The Human Immunodeficiency Virus Essay . Introduction HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is able to integrate its genome into the host cell genome during infection (Ebina, Misawa, Kanemura, Koyanagi, 2013). This can lead to AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) if it is left untreated. AIDS is caused by a very efficient and sneaky retrovirus. HIVcan remain dormant for years once its DNAis in the genome of the host cells. The CRISPR/Cas9 (clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats) are segments of prokaryotic DNA containing short repetitions of base sequences. Cas9 was the first nuclease discovered. The focus of the CRISPR/Cas9 is to target a particular disease causing geneand remove it. II. CRISPR/Cas9 with HIV cell lines HIV infects CD4 + T cells. The viral particles of HIV keep their genetic information stored as double stranded RNA. They use a reverse transcriptase that converts their genome into double stranded DNA (Edina, Misawa, Kanemura, Koyanagi, 2013). During this process the virus can mutate quickly because many errors occur in the HIV genome. The DNA is inserted into the host cell genome by integrases which use LTR (long terminal repeat) sequences on the viral genome to integrate with the host DNA (Ebina, Misawa, Kanemura, Koyanagi, 2013). This results in a provirus that can continuously produce new viruses that infect other immune cells. Doctors can mix different antiretroviral drugs to help with HIV, but once you stop the treatment the virus

Since direct application of Ontario based flour resulted in excessive dryness, and reduced volume of bread, we decided to conduct series of semi industrial trials in order to adapt our present formula to new flourchemical composition. The objective of our investigation in this phase was to apply Ontario flour, and get the breadwith the same moisture, and volume as it is originally. After this first attempt in January, 2013 we firstly tried to increase gluten structure. Gluten is additive commonly used in bakery industry which primary function is to enhance gas retention capacity, water absorption, and retention, as well as, increase dough strength. They also fly without much effort, because their wings are large compared with the size of their bodies. With large wings and a light body one can see an owl fly past but they will most likely not hear them. Because of this owls can carry heavy animals, fly among thick trees, and hover above open fields. Owls have silent flight from fringed feathers that muffle the sound
  • 44. Historical Inaccuracy in Braveheart The idea that film is a medium in which a director can comment on the ills of society has been around since the first motion picture was made. The problem with this fact is that directors and producers often change the historical facts and even the attitudes of the characters in order stimulate public interest through the striking of some common chord that the public feels vigorously about. The story of William Wallacein the movie Braveheartwhile historically fairly accurate in the depictions of the battles while leaving out many important facts. Randall Wallace added some plot twists to make the story more appealing to the audience. All the plot twists and inaccuracies that were added in the movie Braveheart have several basic areas... His military dream to free Scotland started in May 1297 after the murder of Marion Braidfoot who is the historical basis for the character Murron in Braveheart. Wallace won the battle of Stirling; he was kind of disappointed when he remembered that he had to fight the English king. The English king brought his army north. The English army had infantry and archers as well as over 3000 cavalry. The Scottish army was only half the size and had almost no cavalry. The Scottish army lost, Wallace however went into hiding. The film Braveheart makes the audience believe that Wallace went around killing his enemies in Scotland, there is however no historical evidence for this belief. Politics were beginning to change due to the manipulations of Edward I and even England s enemies wouldn t offer Wallace any help. After traveling to France, germane and Rome he returns to Scotland after almost years abroad to find out he was betrayed to the English by a Scottish noble named Sir John Menteith and was turned over to the English for a trial. He was then taken to for trial and execution. The film Braveheart is

The first strategy is known as the rearticulation of the meaning of news items and so they change the meaning and refer to politics and nationality. The second strategy is the rearticulation of domestic political topics, the third strategy is the rearticulation of events and situations and the fourth strategy is the attack on certain celebrities opinions (Erjavec KovaДЌiДЌ, 2012:907 908). This emphasises the effectiveness of the analysis of text and how important it is to deeply analyse the posts and identify the meanings behind them.
