The Circle Dave Eggers
This is not a Fairy Tale: An Analysis of The Circle by Dave Eggers
The fairy tales passed down from generation to generation have planted the idea of
an happily ever after in the head of every developing child. Since then human
beings have been hardwired to strive for their own personal happy ending. We are
so fixated on this idea that we expect every story to end well, and when it doesn t
we feel cheated. Maybe happy endings should be reserved solely for the children s
fairy tales. While some readers may argue that stories with a positive ending provide
a more clear resolution, I would argue that the clear resolution that comes with happy
endings is not always what readers need to feel whole. The completeness you feel in
response to a story often comes from an important lesson that changes your outlook or
perception. The greatest ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to fully understand the power technology and the Circle had, not only on
their employees, but on citizens outside the Circle, the main character needed to

hard to talk to her now that they re talking to millions of people along with Mae now.
Yet, Mae still believes in the circles mantra privacy is theft (305). Several people in
Mae s life try to force her to look in the mirror and see what the Circle has done to

Galileo Research Paper
Galileo, or also known as The Father of Modern science , was an Italian polymath,
or someone with a large range of knowledge, who lived from February 15, 1564, to
January 8, 1642, He died at the age of 78. He was born in Pisa, Italy and died in
Arcetri, which is near Florence (Biography.com). He was the oldest son of Vincenzo
Galilei, a musician who made important contributions to the theory and practice of
music. He was the first of six kids (History.com). Galileo and his family moved to
Florencein 1574, where the Galilei family has lived for generations. When he arrived

Galileo was a very interesting person. There is no doubt that he was a great
scientist, but he also was a mathematician, physicist and a professor. He refuted
Aristotle s finding multiple times, and he turned everyone knowledge of the
universe on their heads. Without his discoveries, astronauts and scientist today
would not be able to do their jobs if they still believed the Heliocentric Theory. In
his earlier days, he was convicted of heresy, meaning, he has been accused of not
believing in an orthodox religion, because his claims challenged what the people
believed in. When Galileo met a woman by the name Marina Gamba, who he never
married probably because of financial issues or he did not want his reputation to be
ruined because of his children. He had two daughters and a son out of wedlock. His
daughters being Virgina and Liva, and a son named Vincenzo. Galileo was worried
that his daughters would not marry well, so when they were older, he had them enter
a convent (biography.com). A convent is a Christian community under monastic
vows, meaning they are not allowed to love and must spend their life on a search for
god. Galileo is a truly powerful scientist, and most of our knowledge would not be

Groups Hanging Out on the Street at Night
1.When did the outreach clients begin hanging out in their groups on the street at
night?
On that night, we have encountered four groups of clients. The first group seems to
be around 17 21 years old and is a little bit hostile, so we did not spend much time
with them and failed to ask questions. Based upon the conversation between the
group and the social workers, they have probably stayed at that particular spot for 2
hours which mean they began hanging out before ten o clock.
The second group consists of 4 men (probably at 20 24 years old) and has gathered
together in the evening. They spent their evening playing basketball with a social
worker called Ben Sir and continue their night with poker, cigar and beers.
We have met the third group in the spot called the present box and it was the largest
group on that night with 2 women and 8 men between the ages of 19 and 24. The
gathering time differs among the group; there were new comers at one o clock in the
early morning, but most of the group began their gathering in about 10 o clock.
The last group of clients was relatively younger in which all of them are secondary
school students (Form 3 4). We do not know if we should consider them as night
drifters or not since the social workers have never seen any of them in the past one
and a half year in that district. Moreover, the reason for them to hang out together
was to celebrate a friend s birthday and to cheer up another friend who has just

Pax Roman A Time Of Peace And Learning
Research paper: Pax Romana Rome s Golden Age, often called the Pax Romana ,
was a time of peace and learning after the ongoing wars with neighboring barbarians,
and civil wars. During this time of peace, the Romans greatly expanded their
commerce and also refine their art. With peace, the romans spent less time focusing
on war and more time focusing on the arts. History remembers the legendary Roman
legions as the one of the most deadly and successful fighting forces in the ancient
world. Even today, stories of their great success and invincibility in the face of their
enemies are still known. At the height of their empire, the Romans were able to
conquer a vast empire that stretched over three continents and maintain t power for
centuries over the Mediterranean Sea. The key to Rome s military success during the
Pax Romana was the advanced military innovations that the Romans incorporated into
its great army that included military bureaucracy, advanced battle tactics and military
technology.
The Pax Romana was a time of relative peace during the Roman Empire. Although
there were small conflicts during The Pax Romana it was generally known as a time
of prosperity and expansion for Rome, mainly under the leadership of Emperor
Augustus and Tiberius who successfully expanded borders and made peace with
neighboring barbarians. Pax Romana is Latin for peaceful Rome. It lasted from 27
BC to 180 AD, from the end of the Republican Civil wars to the death of Marcus
Aurelious.
In Pursuit of Excellence Book Review
In Pursuit of Excellence Book Review If I were new to the topic of sport
psychology, and I asked someone to suggest a book that would give me an in depth,
how to description of learning to control your mind and use it to your advantage,
then I would expect them to suggest In Pursuit of Excellence. I have read a few
different books on sport psychology, with all of them discussing the same
information and techniques, but none of them go into the type of depth that this
book does. It is almost as though this is the Bible of sport psychology; that is just
how well Terry Orlick has written the fourth edition of his book, In Pursuit of

I could really connect with this because you can t always be focused on the

journey that it takes to get to that point, and you should enjoy it and give it
everything you have. As the book states it, during the journey the true joy and
challenge lies in pursuing ongoing personal growth, loving the pursuit, and living
the various textures of your life. So what can we take from this quote? What I
took from it was that the real enjoyment of the journey comes from seeing yourself
improve and grow as an athlete and a person, and also to be balanced, and have fun
in other areas of your life as well. I can relate to this because in the past I used to
get so caught up in the potential outcome of the future, and my thoughts would
become negative because I would worry so much. I would get so caught up that I
would totally ignore just how much I had been improving over that period of time,
which would kill my performance. But that s why it s the past, right? For the past 3
years I have been keeping a daily log of all my goals, outcome, performance, and
process, and I ve also been keeping a daily journal of what has been on my mind, and
how my day went. It allows me to literally see how much I ve grown as an

The Homeless Camp Under The Bridge Essay
Austin is a large, yet still expanding metropolis from the great state of Texas; as
many statistics show, with big cities come a considerable following of the
homeless population. One of the first things that many people from tourists to new
residents notice when entering Austin from I 35 is the homeless camp under the
bridge. It s certainly an eye catching scene, yet almost everyone forgets about it
once it s out of their peripheral vision. I, for one, felt dejected seeing such a somber
scenery, yet when upon driving to a new vicinity, I d forgotten all about it. Maybe
it was my own way of coping with the fact that there were people who were and
still are in need of help and I couldn t offer anything substantial to them. Either way,
as I ve learned we can t help those who doesn t want to be helped. In this research I

Mobile Loaves Fish, a local, faith based organization that hands out food to the

also gave me a look into the demographics of the population. Most of them were

At its greatest extent, the Empire stretched to the north along the natural boundaries
of the Himalayas, and to the east stretching into what is now Assam. To the west, it

Afghanistan, including the modern Herat and Kandahar provinces. The Empire was

The Mauryan Empire was perhaps the largest empire to rule the Indian subcontinent.
Its decline began fifty years after Ashoka s rule ended, and it dissolved in 185 BCE

Under Chandragupta and his successors, both internal and external trade, and

Early Christian Life
The Church was much different in the early days. There was strict discipline, an
awareness of what it meant to be Christian and many other things which made the
Church beautiful. Although the structure and teachings of the Church have
remained the same, many attractive characteristics have been lost.. The Christian
religion was not simply a domination that one belonged to. It was a lifestyle that
one lived. It was a reason to live and it was a reason to die. Many, knowing that
they would be rewarded after death, suffered horrible tortures and even death for
their faith. The early Church had the joy of a young child. Like young children,
the people of the Church proclaimed the good news to all. They told everyone that
would hear them in places of the public such as in forums. Many, being made aware
of the gospel and being confronted with people who had been living the life of a
Christian, had a change of heart and were converted. All those who belonged to the
Church knew the importance of helping one another reach their desired end, that is,
Heaven. They would encourage each other and rejoice with another when they
overcame some battle. It was especially joyful event when one was... Show more

Preparation for certain events, such as baptism, required the act of fasting, Sins
required heavy penances for reparation, and people were required to help those in

for strict regulations a person may look at the example of a child. Often when a
household has lax rules, the children become negligent of their duties and lose the
importance of doing things such as doing the laundry. Again, when the rules are strict,
one often sees the opposite happen. The children seem careless of their duties at the
same time they know the consequences of not doing certain chores around the house.
In other words, order seems more vulnerable when discipline is not

Female Slave Narratives
In her slave narrative, Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl, Harriet Jacobs makes
the case that [slavery] is terrible for men; but it is far more terrible for women.
(Jacobs #) According to female slave narratives like Incidents and The History of
Mary Prince: A West Indian Slave, it is worse to be a female slave because, in
addition to the brutalities endured by all slaves, enslaved women are also victims
of a sexist and patriarchal society where they are victims of sexual abuse and
exploitation, as well as bear the added anguish of becoming mothers and knowingly
raising children into this horrific system of bondage. Slave narratives are often
autobiographical and detail the narrator s path from slaveryto freedom. These types of

Title: Assess the factors which stimulated Atlantic Maritime exploration in 15th
century
During the period of time 1400 1499 great gains were made by the Europeans in
their quest for knowledge of the world they lived in. In this time period the
Europeans circum navigated Africa, located the territories of the West Indies and
basically redrew the map of the world. All these things had one thing in common;
they were the result of extensive Atlantic maritime exploration. The reasons that
European engaged in such aggressive exploration in 15th century can be attributed to
several factors. These factors can be grouped into three major headings, technological

Thus each time a new tax was applied to the goods the Moslem merchants raised
the price at which they would sell the goods at to recoup their expenses. Therefore
as the Italian merchants had to cover their expenses that raised the prices of the
goods also. This fact proved economically unacceptable to the other European
merchants. The high cost of purchasing these goods made European merchants
willing to fund exploration to find an alternate route to the goods of India. The
merchants believed that by finding the alternate route they could remove the middle
men from the process of obtaining the goods and also as the route would not have to
go through any other kingdom the goods would not be subjected to the taxation with
increased the price it cost to obtain the goods. Therefore by obtaining the goods at a
cheaper price the merchant realized they would gain vastly increased profits.
Similarly it was not only merchants that saw the importance of finding and
controlling a shorter route to the riches of Africa and India. Nations also saw the
great benefits controlling such routes would bring to them. This was the principle
reason that nations such as Portugal and Spain pursued maritime exploration.
Portugal had to engage in this activity due to the fact that they did not have the
natural resources in Portugal to engage in empire building. Prince Henry the
The Corporate Soul is the Culture of an Organization
ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE
INTRODUCTION:
Just as society has a culture, so has an organization. Organizational culture has been
called Corporate soul (Singh and Paul 1985). The spirit and the ethos that precolates
all aspects of organizational behavior and like societal cultureit cannot be seen
directly. It has to be inferred by peeling out the most external, tangible, and hence
visible sheaths of an organization to the most central and invisible values, beliefs, and
assumptions regarding how and why people work and relate with each other within
an organization. Organizational culture consists of the following five layers (J.B.P
Sinha 1990) :
1)Organizational mission, vision, goals, objectives, strategies and the underlying
philosophy of management.
2)Organizational structure, systems, work forms, technology, capital structure, and
other physical features of an organization.
3)Groups characteristics such as power and authority structure, group dynamics,
leadership, and forms of work and social relationships.
4)Work and non work practices and behavior.
5)Assumptions, beliefs, values, and norms regarding work as domains such as family,
community, leisure, religion.
Organizational culture is a term widely used but one that seems to give rise to a
degree of ambiguity in terms of assessing its effectiveness on change variables at a
work place or in an Organization. Organizational culture at any organization is
defined as A system of shared meaning held
Hairtyle Definition
Proportion is the comparative relationship of one thing to another. A well chosen
hairstyle can create the illusion of better proportion. It is essential when designing a
hairstyle to take into account the client s body shape and size. Challenges in body
proportion become more obvious if the hair form is too small or too large. A general
guide for classic proportion is that the hairshould not be wider than the center of the
shoulders, regardless of the body structure.
Proportion is also defined as any portion or part in relation to the whole. No one
certain feature or style produces beauty but rather the relationship or harmony created
when all components come together into a total image. Why does a hairstyle, for

Many have a side of the face that appears heavier. Many have one eye that is
slightly smaller or one flare of the nose that is slightly larger. And so, adaptability
becomes the first design consideration. During your client consultation, take the
time to make notations of the asymmetry to the face. If we design the hair towards
the low side of the face, we will accentuate it. If we duplicate the head form with
either fullness or the lack thereof, we emphasize it. Feel the bones of the head and
take note of the growth patterns in the outer and inner perimeters. Remember that
the outer perimeter creates the strongest influence to the features. Be very careful
about the hair that touches the face. Will it point to an unflattering feature, such as
a pointed nose? If there is a protrusion of the frontal bone, the fringe area will lift
and dry shorter than anticipated. We have found that working with two mirrors is
of tremendous benefit: one for the frontal view and one for the profile. Watch that
you do not accentuate a poor profile with an extension in that area. The mirrors will
tell you things that the eye cannot see directly. In addition, using a haircutting chair
gives the best view of the back and sides of the head because you are looking
directly into them. If you are looking down at the hairline, your vision is altered.

The Three Motives Of Raskolnikov
In Fyodor Dostoevsky s Crime and Punishment, Raskolnikov asserts that truly great
men [...] must feel great sorrow in this world (Dostoevsky 264), and indeed, many
of Crime and Punishment s primary characters regularly experience such sorrow.
From Sonya s prostitution of herself to support her family financially, to Svidrigailov
s struggle with deep rooted depravity, each of these characters must confront the
consequences of their situations and take drastic measures to escape them.
Raskolnikov, however, only worsens his poverty by discarding his money at random,
making donations to strangers and burying the very gold and jewelry he murdered
the innocent to obtain. According to Maurice Beebe in his essay The Three Motives

Raskolnikov rationalizes handing away much of his money with the excuse that his
spontaneous behavior deems him extraordinary ; from a psychoanalytical perspective,
though, Raskolnikov s behavior exhibits symptoms of a dangerous personality
disorder: emotional masochism. In an intellectual debate with the detective Porfiry,
Raskolnikov makes the distinction between the ordinary and extraordinary man,
claiming that men who are inherently extraordinary are not bound to traditional
laws. Raskolnikov s carelessness with his money and decision to donate it to the
least worthy members of society transgress such unspoken laws. When Raskolnikov
hastily gives Sonya Semyonovna twenty roubles for her father s funeral, he at first
criticizes his rashness: What a stupid thing to have done [...] I need it myself (27),
but immediately thereafter he condones his actions, telling himself that Sonya needs
a bit of pomade (27). By choosing to support a prostitute and her family, Raskolnikov
risks losing the respect of society, thereby deeming this action extraordinary .

disadvantages with using flame resistant materials. Controversy exists on whether
flame resistant material is safe for human use. When choosing flame resistant

1984 And Technology Essay
The technology in today s society is far more advanced than the technology that
Orwell describes in his novel, 1984. In today s society, almost everyone has a cell
phone, which is just one of the many ways that government would be able to keep
tabs on someone. In 1984, the main source of surveillance that the Party used was
the telescreen, but today, the government has the technology to be able to create
systems of surveillance far worse than the telescreens. Today s technology would
give the government the possibility to match and surpass the level of surveillance
that the Party had. While this level of surveillance would be possible in today s
society, today s governments could never reach the same level of control and
power that the Party had in 1984. In 1984, the Party used the telescreens to keep a
watchful eye on every citizen under their control. The telescreens were a form of
surveillance that had to be implemented in every citizen s home as a way to make
sure that they were not acting out of protocol for the Party. These telescreens were
used mainly in the home,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Today s government can implement surveillance like in 1984, but the surveillance
our government would do would be nothing like the surveillance in 1984. In 1984
the surveillance was to keep all citizens within Party protocol, where as today s
surveillance would be in place for the safety of the citizens. Today s security
cameras are not used to control people like in 1984, but instead are used to keep a
watchful eye over the citizens and try to protect them or make them feel more safe.
In the article, Long Beach Police to Use 400 Cameras Citywide to Fight Crime, the
author talks about today s use for security cameras and how they are being used to
attempt to keep our cities safe, rather than being used to spy on the citizens
National Junior Honor Society Reflection
One important activity on the list, is being involved in the National Honors Society.
This organization recognizes scholars and well rounded students in middle and high

This organization is important, because of my history with the organization, and
also the role that I have had in my school chapter. In the eighth grade, I received my
first letter, inviting me to the National Junior Honor Society. Invitees had to write an
essay on why the membership would be important; eventually a selected number of
honorees would be chosen. I was not selected as a new member for the society.
My first year in high school, I got another letter, inviting me to become a member. I
again, wrote an essay to convince the society that I should be a member. I did not
have the chance, I was denied. Next year, I received another invitation. After being
denied twice, I was discouraged. I was unsure on whether I wanted to try to persuade
the organization that I was indeed an asset. This time I took a different approach. I

calcium or phosphate. Lack of these crucial nutrients softens the bones, and leg braces
had been the solution. Not only that, but vitamin D deficiency can contribute to
tuberculosis by weakening the immune system, allowing the bacterial infection that

A Study Of Public Administration
Since Woodrow Wilson (1889) published the article, a study of public administration ,
the main question in the field of public administration is how to govern a democratic
and political entity. Given public administration conventionally concerns about civil
servants and agencies in the executive branch, one among diverse and essential
subfields is bureaucracyand organizational theory. In general, the development of
studies on bureaucracy and organizational theory has gone through the period of
classical theory to modern theory, and from modern theory to the advent of post
modernism and post positivism. After historically reviewing the growth of
knowledge on this subfield, forces behind the progress are the product of countless

But with respect to the mean to this end, while the Federalist prefers centralized
executive powers, the anti Federalist go another way suggested by communitarianism.
In terms of organizational theories, there are at least two main streams at that time
can be identified. The first is managerialism, including scientific management and
human relation school. Basically, both focused on management strategies.
Nevertheless, one focused on principles of management for formal organizations, the
other cares more about psychological status and informal organizations. For
scientific management, the founding father is Frederick Taylors (1912) who
employed scientific methods, like natural science, to measure working loadings and
should be working times for increasing efficiency and developing a fair payments

propose several principles of organizational operations and design. The most famous
one would be POSDCORB introduced by Gulick. On the other hand, Elton Mayor
(1930), as conducting the Hawthorne experiment, found the benign presence of
researchers would boost productivities, instead of changes in facilities in factories.
Chester Barnard (1938) argued that organizations are cooperative system maintaining
the dynamic balances between the needs of the organization and its employees. With
respect to the need of employees, Maslow came up with the need

Health Science Librarians Essay
Librarians have always worked with information, but the question of whether or not
librarians should get involved with big data has not always been an easy one to
answer. On the other hand, since most health care researchers are subject specialists
and have limited data science skills, most librarians in the healthsciences realize they
do need to become involved in it. That they have to provide health care researchers
with as much help and information as they can. Consequently, the real question for
them should be exactly how they need to be involved. Health sciences librarians
realize they can fill many roles in health care s use of big data, but since some roles
librarians could performed are already being filled in large institutions... Show more

Therefore, librarians need to provide information on how to write such a plan,
information about where researchers can deposit data affordably that works well
with new data and old data, and what are the best practices for sharing their data,
including how to get the data ready for ingest into a repository. Health sciences
librarians can also help researchers with labeling and applying metadata standards to
their data sets. For health sciences libraries with limited resources, much of this
information could be provided online using libguides or even web links.
When working with big data researchers are also finding themselves needing
information how to work with visualization tools. Many have never used these
tools before and if health sciences libraries can offer space and training on
equipment and software to their researchers then they will have both access to
them and a chance to learn to use them. However, not every health sciences library
will be able to provide equipment and software for them, but most could provide
information on where to find training and possibly a list of local locations with
access. In addition, health sciences libraries could also provide training courses on R
and Python directly to their researchers or information on local or web based courses.
Finally, one of the other major ways that health sciences
Essay about The Ancient Relatives of Mammals
The mammalian line of descent reaches back to over 300 million years. The ancient
relatives of mammals were extremely different in terms of appearance from living
mammals, and are often mistaken for reptiles (for example dinosaurs). In reality
though, these relatives of mammals, called synapsids, are more like mammals than
reptiles. Synapsids are often described as mammallike reptiles because they show both
reptilian and mammalian traits. They lived right before the Mesozoic Era, during the
PermianPeriod (286 251 mya). Synapsids derive their name from the fact that they
had only one temporal opening on each side of the skull (called laterotemporal
fenestrae), just like all mammals. Many synapsids had features that were considered...

They are believed to have hunted larger herbivores in packs (similar to wolves).
Lystrosaurus was another hippo like aquatic creature. Cistecephalus lived
underground, where it most likely dug for insects and worms. Estemmenosuchus was
another Permian carnivore whose skull had many bony outgrowths. According to
Neo Darwinian theory, all the functional diversity (the various synapsid types) was
wiped out as the reptiles of the Mesozoic Era overtook the synapsids. It is usually
said that only the basic structural plan of modern day mammals was derived from
the synapsids. This view is technically flawed because in terms of fossilized remains
(the only basis by which the structure of an extinct animal can be remade), only a
small amount of traits consistently distinguished mammals from reptiles. In damaged
and fragmented fossils, these traits are practically undetectable. So how can one tell
what the basic structural plan that was derived from synapsids was?
Regardless of this, only one thing is known for sure Non mammalian synapsids did
not evolve from reptiles. We know for a fact that non mammalian synapsids have
something to do with the origin of mammals, but what happened to these fascinating
creatures during the Mesozoic Era and how they gave rise to real mammals is
unknown.
The information we have on these unique group of animals is in fact very hazy and
confusing, but perhaps with more researchers and new information, the
Effects of Temperature on Catalase Activity Essay examples
Effects of Temperature and pH on Catalase Activity
INTRODUCTION
Enzymes are organic catalysts that spur metabolic reactions. The presence of an
enzyme within a cell is essential in order for any sort of reaction to take place. All
enzymes are complex proteins that act in an organism s closely controlled internal
environment. In such a homeostatic environment, the temperature and the pH
(concentration of hydrogen ions), remain within a fairly narrow range. Extreme
variations in pH and temperature denature the enzyme by altering its chemical
structure, thus adversely affecting the chemical reaction. As even the slightest change
in the protein s structure will change the enzyme s shape enough to prevent the
formation of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Immediately after removing the tubes, hydrogen peroxide was added to each tube
up to the second (5 cm) mark. They were then swirled to mix, and after fifteen
seconds, the bubble columns in each vile were measured in millimeters, and then
recorded in a data table. The procedure for analyzing pH levels was rather different.
The three test tubes, marked at three different levels, were each filled to the first
mark (1cm) with catalase, and to the second mark (3 cm) with water. However, the
pH of the water had been adjusted differently for each vile. The first tube received
water adjusted to pH three, the second received water adjusted to pH seven, and
third received pH eleven. Consequently, each tube was then filled to the last mark (7
cm) with hydrogen peroxide, swirled to mix and then observed after twenty seconds.
After twenty seconds passed, the bubble columns of each of he tubes were measured
in millimeters. Results were recorded on a chart.
RESULTS As expected, during the temperature test, the least amount of bubbles were
emitted in tubes that had been exposed to extreme heat. The tube placed in boiling
water yielded zero millimeters of bubbles. The boiling water denatured the enzyme
and altered its chemical structure rendering it incapable of undergoing metabolic
reactions. For these same reasons, the vile placed in a hot bath, containing water at
85 degrees, produced only one
The Redemption Of The Soul
Katherine was coming into her own as a reformer, and while the King does change
a few things about the church, he was far from a reformer. Parr embraced the
reformist ideals of reading and interpreting the Bible for herself and firmly
believed that religion should be debated and discussed. As shown in her own
writings, Parr did not want a priest, or any man for that matter, to speak for her
when it came to religious matters and beliefs. According to Porter, he refused to
embrace the Lutheran doctrine of justification by faith alone (a belief that Parr
held, staunchly), because he believed there must be more to salvation and would
not accept that good works and charity did not play their part in the redemption of
the soul. Parr blatantly ignored the Act for the Advancement of the True Religion
by distributing her text, and while she initially had the blessing of Henry, he
quickly regretted the decision and is inspired by those around him to have Parr
arrested for her beliefs and for spreading them. Parr is fortunate to get a hold of the
warrant, and swore as an axiom I have not done it (argued religion) so much to
maintain opinion, as I did it rather to minister talk, not only to the end that your
majesty might with less grief pass over this painful time of your infirmary, being
attentive to our talk, and hoping that your majesty shall reap some easy by it; but
also that I hearing your Majesty s learned discourse might receive some profit. Henry

The Degradation Of Solar Cell
Solar Cell Degradation in Space Abstract:
This paper will present the degradation of solar cell performance when exposed to
solar wind in space, particularly in the Van Allen belt region. Also, solar cell
theory is mathematically modeled and described using Matlab simulation software
accompanied by the SRIM software to generate the targeting data. Follow with the
degradation modeling of Si, InGaP/GaAs/Ge triple junction space solar cells when
are exposed to high energy charged particles, especially protons and electrons in the
Mega electron Volt range. In this model, carrier removal rate of the base layer and
damage coefficient of minority carrier diffusion length in each sub cell are
considered as radiation degradation parameters. In addition, this paper will present
the status of high radiation resistant solar cells made from Si, InGaP/GaAs/Ge for
space application to guarantee the successful operation of the satellite.

I was told these comments when I was at my last duty station in Okinawa, Japan. I

Advantages Of Retention Strategies
Gone is the age when people sought permanence in every vital facet of life, be it
relationships or jobs. With the advent of modern era, there has been a tangible shift
from securing permanent things to ascertaining better things. It is a typical human
behaviour to have an insatiable hunger for development and betterment. This
penchant can be evidently contemplated in the corporate employees, since the
corporate world is swamped with a surfeit of jobs and there are ample chances for
employees to move from one job to another. In such transient job environment,
companies need to prepare themselves well in advance to efficiently and
professionally handle the exit of employees.

In the early eighteenth century through the mid nineteenth century slavery was
arguably the most controversial topic in the newly formed United States.
Testimonies such as those found in Common Sense, American Yawp, and
Narrative of Sojourner Truth, are just some examples of the cruelty and harshness
slaves endured. Many people of different races and social standings rose together
in Christianity and spoke out against slavery in hopes to reform the new country.
Those such as Harriet Jacobs, Charles G. Finney, David Walker, and Sojourner

was born into slavery. Her parents, both of mixed race, were salves as well;
although her father was such a skilled carpenter he was able to buy his freedom but

Experimental Oral Controlled Release And Site Specific...
ABSTRACT Oral controlled release and site specific drug delivery system has been
of great interest in pharmaceutical field to achieve improved therapeutic advantage.
Drug absorption in the gastrointestinal tract is a highly variable procedure and
prolonging gastric retention of the dosage form extends the time for drug absorption.
Gastro retentive drug delivery system is one of such novel approaches to prolong
gastric residence time, thereby targeting site specific drug release in the stomachfor
local or systemic effects. This approach is useful particularly for the drugs which
have narrow absorption window in the upper part of gastro intestinal tract. Various
approaches of gastro retentive drug delivery system, such as floating and non
floating, have been discussed in this review. This review also gives an overview of
merits, demerits and evaluation parameters of gastro retentive system.
Key words: Gastro retentive drug delivery system, non floating system, floating

INTRODUCTION: Despite the tremendous advancement in drug delivery, oral
route is the most preferred route to the systemic circulation due to the ease of
administration, low cost of drug, patient compliance and flexibility in formulation.
About 90% of all drugs used to produce systemic effects are administered by oral
route. Of the drugs that are administered orally, solid oral dosage forms represent the
preferred class of products. Tablets are the most common type of
Positive Effects Of Globalisation
Globalisation can be defined as the worldwide movement toward economic, financial,
trade and communications integration . (Business Dictionary. (2017). The definition
then goes onto discuss the interconnectedness and interdependent of a society that
allows a free transaction of capital and goods and services through the opening of
boarders and uninterrupted movement of labour. (Business Dictionary. (2017).
Globalisation can be seen in all aspects of a modern society and in the day to day
life of individuals, for example, with the advancement of technology we have seen an
increase of global communication with the use of the internet to allow people to
connect and understand different backgrounds and culture. This essay will primarily
focus on the way in which globalisation can affect and make an impact on the
economies of small community s and what the effects it has on the economy on a
global scale.
Globalisation can be argued to be the way of the future, the way to connect countries,
cultures and individuals. It is argued that the benefits encourage a less developed
country to join in the path of globalisation is that in theory it is meant to allow for
the free movement of labour, this being beneficial to a country that may be
experiencing labour shortages. This can be seen to be effective in the European
Union as they allowed migrants from Eastern Europe to move west to meet with their
labour demand. Another benefit of globalisation could be an increase in competition

Memory Vs Human Memory
1. The purpose of memory, whether it be in humans or machine, is to store
information for a period of time. Both human memory and the memory used in
artificial devices are capable of doing so but they differ in many ways; two
differences being discussed will be on how memory is encoded, and how memory is
stored.
There are endless stimuli in the world meaning we humans are constantly feeling,
hearing, smelling, tasting, and touching; at any given point in time, our brain is
working and processing this into our sensory memory. Information encoded in our
sensory memory will only last a very short amount of time (A few seconds sometimes
even shorter) before it is either forgotten or transferred to the next memory store,
short term (Also known as working memory). The main factor in whether information
is further retained to short term memory, is attention. The three main ways
information can be encoded is through visual, auditory, and semantic coding. Visual
coding enables information to be stored as pictures, auditory stored as sounds, and
semantic stored as meaning.
Memory encoding in machines can be stored as pictures and sounds but meaning is
exclusive to humans. Computer memory does not depend on attention; whatever is
captured/experienced by the machine will be encoded in the artificial device. Unlike
human memory, the information will not be forgotten if there is not enough attention
and will be stored; bringing us to our next difference.
The memory used in artificial devices uses complex systems such as primary
/secondary memory, RAM, caches, etc. However, machine memory can explained
described as black or white ; they either know something or they don t, and when
they do learn something they generally don t forget (Unless they re programmed to
do so).
This is where memory storage differs in the human system. As previously mentioned
information is stored in the short term/working memory with attention heavily
factoring it s retention. Now for information to stay in the active working memory, it
must rehearsed over and over. Once mental activity stops it is either forgotten or goes
further into the long term memory. The long term memory store is similar to memory
storage system in computers in the sense

Vacationing In New York City
Vacationing in New York City can be a fun and exciting time, but the amount of the
things to do may seem overwhelming. By knowing what type of activity one would
like to experience, it may be easier and more enjoyable in making decision on to see
and do. There are many different categories of attractions in New York City, and most
fall into that of Art, History, Architecture, and Leisure.
New York City boasts deep roots in the world of the Arts. The city is home to
Broadway and the New York City Ballet Company. Shows in both are performed
each season and can be a memorable event to go see. While prices are higher for
these types of performances, one is able to witness the culmination of handwork and
talent come together to make a lovely show, and is well worth it. Art galleries and art
museums fill the city with all varieties of art. Some of the best places to view art are:
the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Cloisters, and The Guggenheim Museum. The
Metropolitan Museum of Art, which holds art from all different cultures and eras, is
one of the largest art museums in the United States. The Cloisters in Upper Manhattan

INTRODUCTION
1.1Overview
In 21st century where IT is affecting every aspect of life we can see the effect of
computer, electronics and modern machines in every domain. This big penetration in
our life has demanded the automation of all these machines. The automation or the
quest to make them smarter and more independent has led to seek applications in the
fields of Steering behavior, Neural Network and Genetic Algorithms.
1.2Steering Behavior in Virtual Environment

Depending upon the experimental configuration, changes can be done in destination,
behavior, acceleration, speed or manipulation of the intelligent agent. The approach
taken in this paper is to make steering behaviors as entirely independent from the
underlying locomotion scheme. A simple locomotion model will be presented in
order to make the discussion of steering behaviors more accurate. Our locomotion
model is based on a simple vehicle model.
1.2.2Virtual Agents
To cater the need of computer animation, interactive media such as games and virtual
reality there is need for intelligent agent, those who can navigate according to
requirement. These agents may have some ability to improvise their actions
according to situation. This project will use the term intelligent to denote these agents
which are intelligent agents in a virtual world who may be interacting with other
agents. Intelligent agents are intended for use in computer animation and various
interactive media such as games and virtual reality. This project will use the term
virtual to denote these agents which, rather than being simulations of an electrical
device in the real world, are instead intelligent agents in a virtual world.
1.2.3Behavior Hierarchy
In this project the term behavior is used to refer to the improvisational and life type
actions of intelligent agents. The behavior of an intelligent agent can be better

The Best Day Of My Life
Whoosh! I can still see the moment he hit the water. The moment sometimes plays
in my head like it happened in real life slow motion. I knew I would never forget it.
You should know a few things about me before you read about the best day of my
life. Before today I thought that if I didn t start stressing about my future, I would
never end up getting anywhere. This is the day everything changed. AAAHHHH!!
That morning started like any other, my small obnoxious mutt of a dog licking my
face like it was its job. I saw a bright and youthful sun, like the old one retired and
this one took its place, warm and new. I wasn t mad this time, I laughed and played
with her a few minutes before running upstairs for breakfast. On my way up the
stairs I could hear the small birds chirping songs of joy, right before I heard my
mom yell, Oh no, something wicked this way comes! I swear she loves me, but I
quietly shot back with a, good morning to you too. I shot pancakes into my throat, I
felt like I hadn t eaten in ages, the hunger rose inside of me like a demon. After I ate,
I felt like I had a ton of cement in my stomach, I swore to my mom I would never eat
again, but of course I did. That morning my mom and I sat at the table talking about
our days so far. My mom and I talked about what I would do that day, I really don t
know, I lied as we talked. I knew that today would be a good dayI just didn t know
how good it really would be. Once I got picked up to go to
David Mallett Case Study
David Mallett is a highly sought after hairstylist from Paris. His salon demands
250€ alone, for a simple cut. He previously worked on models for Elle, Dior, L
Oreal, along with an abundance of others. I believe that hair should look good long
after the client has left the salon, states Mallett, as should every hairdresser. With his
particular look shown above, I enjoy it due to the cleanliness and precise work
shown. Every sliver of hair is placed in such a manner that the entire modelis
perceived in a fancy way. She could be wearing rags and all I, or possibly anyone,
would focus on is the delicacy Mallett so obviously contributed. Her dye color is the
correct shade for her skin pigmentation and the braid wrapped around her head does
Let the Punishment Fit the Crime in the State of California
The Punishment After having been arrested and charged with the killing of my
children s father, I was subsequently convicted of first degree murder, PC§187a
(CA Codes). The sentencing guidelines, here in California, require a judge to adhere
to PC§190a which states that, Every person guilty of murder in the first degree shall
be punished by death, imprisonment in the state prisonfor life without the possibility
of parole, or imprisonment in the state prison for a term of 25 years to life (CA
Codes). I had serious concern toward the possibility of falling under PC§190.2a
which asserts that, The penalty for a defendant who is found guilty of murder in the
first degree is death or imprisonment in the state prison for life without the... Show

From the moment I was situated nude for my initial strip search, I adhered to the fact
that I am now someone else... a criminal. I am undeniably feeling the retributivist
effect of having lost everything that I once valued in exchange for the life choices I
made. This leads me to think that CCWF is in full alignment with the retributivist
philosophy, so why then do I have feelings of optimism while incarcerated here?
Utilitarians view punishment as a pathway lined with deterrence... one that
ultimately leads criminals towards rehabilitation. This is a forward looking
approach, as it focuses on the future of criminal behavior (Hemmens et al., 2013).
This perspective concentrates on two separate entities. Those being the person
whom is punished, as well as the other members of society. If one were to ask a
utilitarian, Why Punish? the response would likely be, We must punish in order to
promote good and prevent evil... in the future. There is little focus on the crime that
has already been committed or under what circumstances that it occurred. The
concern is with what society should do next in order to prevent it from happening
again. Utilitarians believe that if no good consequences result from punishment, then
no punishment is justified. One could look at this philosophy of punishment as a
doorway of opportunity for criminals, but also as a doorway of fear... one that keeps
law abiding citizens from

The Circle Dave Eggers This is not a Fairy Tale: An Analysis of The Circle by Dave Eggers The fairy tales passed down from generation to generation have planted the idea of an happily ever after in the head of every developing child. Since then human beings have been hardwired to strive for their own personal happy ending. We are so fixated on this idea that we expect every story to end well, and when it doesn t we feel cheated. Maybe happy endings should be reserved solely for the children s fairy tales. While some readers may argue that stories with a positive ending provide a more clear resolution, I would argue that the clear resolution that comes with happy endings is not always what readers need to feel whole. The first group seems to be around 17 21 years old and is a little bit hostile, so we did not spend much time with them and failed to ask questions. Based upon the conversation between the group and the social workers, they have probably stayed at that particular spot for 2 hours which mean they began hanging out before ten o clock. The second group consists of 4 men (probably at 20 24 years old) and has gathered together in the evening. Therefore as the Italian merchants had to cover their expenses that raised the prices of the goods also. This fact proved economically unacceptable to the other European merchants. The high cost of purchasing these goods made European merchants willing to fund exploration to find an alternate route to the goods of India. The merchants believed that by finding the alternate route they could remove the middle men from the process of obtaining the goods and also as the route would not have to go through any other kingdom the goods would not be subjected to the taxation with increased the price it cost to obtain the goods. If we duplicate the head form with either fullness or the lack thereof, we emphasize it. Feel the bones of the head and take note of the growth patterns in the outer and inner perimeters. In general, the development of studies on bureaucracy and organizational theory has gone through the period of classical theory to modern theory, and from modern theory to the advent of post modernism and post positivism. In terms of organizational theories, there are at least two main streams at that time can be identified. The first is managerialism, including scientific management and human relation school. Basically, both focused on management strategies. Nevertheless, one focused on principles of management for formal organizations, the other cares more about psychological status and informal organizations. For scientific management, the founding father is Frederick Taylors (1912) who employed scientific methods, like natural science, to measure working loadings and should be working times for increasing efficiency and developing a fair payments systems. Under his guidance, Gulick (1937) and Urwick (1945) make efforts to propose several principles of organizational operations and design. The most famous one would be POSDCORB introduced by Gulick. On the other hand, Elton Mayor (1930), as conducting the Hawthorne experiment, found the benign presence of researchers would boost productivities, instead of changes in facilities in factories. Chester Barnard (1938) argued that organizations are cooperative system maintaining the dynamic balances between the needs of the organization and its employees. With respect to the need of employees, Maslow came up with the need

Health Science Librarians Essay Librarians have always worked with information, but the question of whether or not librarians should get involved with big data has not always been an easy one to answer. On the other hand, since most health care researchers are subject specialists and have limited data science skills, most librarians in the healthsciences realize they do need to become involved in it. That they have to provide health care researchers with as much help and information as they can. Consequently, the real question for them should be exactly how they need to be involved. Health sciences librarians realize they can fill many roles in health care s use of big data, but since some roles librarians could performed are already being filled in large institutions... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, librarians need to provide information on how to write such a plan, information about where researchers can deposit data affordably that works well with new data and old data, and what are the best practices for sharing their data, including how to get the data ready for ingest into a repository. Health sciences librarians can also help researchers with labeling and applying metadata standards to their data sets. For health sciences libraries with limited resources, much of this information could be provided online using libguides or even web links. When working with big data researchers are also finding themselves needing information how to work with visualization tools. Many have never used these tools before and if health sciences libraries can offer space and training on equipment and software to their researchers then they will have both access to them and a chance to learn to use them. However, not every health sciences library will be able to provide equipment and software for them, but most could provide information on where to find training and possibly a list of local locations with access. In addition, health sciences libraries could also provide training courses on R and Python directly to their researchers or information on local or web based courses. Finally, one of the other major ways that health sciences
  • 26. Essay about The Ancient Relatives of Mammals The mammalian line of descent reaches back to over 300 million years. The ancient relatives of mammals were extremely different in terms of appearance from living mammals, and are often mistaken for reptiles (for example dinosaurs). In reality though, these relatives of mammals, called synapsids, are more like mammals than reptiles. Synapsids are often described as mammallike reptiles because they show both reptilian and mammalian traits. They lived right before the Mesozoic Era, during the PermianPeriod (286 251 mya). Synapsids derive their name from the fact that they had only one temporal opening on each side of the skull (called laterotemporal fenestrae), just like all mammals. Many synapsids had features that were considered... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They are believed to have hunted larger herbivores in packs (similar to wolves). Lystrosaurus was another hippo like aquatic creature. Cistecephalus lived underground, where it most likely dug for insects and worms. Estemmenosuchus was another Permian carnivore whose skull had many bony outgrowths. According to Neo Darwinian theory, all the functional diversity (the various synapsid types) was wiped out as the reptiles of the Mesozoic Era overtook the synapsids. It is usually said that only the basic structural plan of modern day mammals was derived from the synapsids. This view is technically flawed because in terms of fossilized remains (the only basis by which the structure of an extinct animal can be remade), only a small amount of traits consistently distinguished mammals from reptiles. In damaged and fragmented fossils, these traits are practically undetectable. So how can one tell what the basic structural plan that was derived from synapsids was? Regardless of this, only one thing is known for sure Non mammalian synapsids did not evolve from reptiles. We know for a fact that non mammalian synapsids have something to do with the origin of mammals, but what happened to these fascinating creatures during the Mesozoic Era and how they gave rise to real mammals is unknown. The information we have on these unique group of animals is in fact very hazy and confusing, but perhaps with more researchers and new information, the
  • 27. Effects of Temperature on Catalase Activity Essay examples Effects of Temperature and pH on Catalase Activity INTRODUCTION Enzymes are organic catalysts that spur metabolic reactions. The presence of an enzyme within a cell is essential in order for any sort of reaction to take place. All enzymes are complex proteins that act in an organism s closely controlled internal environment. In such a homeostatic environment, the temperature and the pH (concentration of hydrogen ions), remain within a fairly narrow range. Extreme variations in pH and temperature denature the enzyme by altering its chemical structure, thus adversely affecting the chemical reaction. As even the slightest change in the protein s structure will change the enzyme s shape enough to prevent the formation of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Immediately after removing the tubes, hydrogen peroxide was added to each tube up to the second (5 cm) mark. They were then swirled to mix, and after fifteen seconds, the bubble columns in each vile were measured in millimeters, and then recorded in a data table. The procedure for analyzing pH levels was rather different. The three test tubes, marked at three different levels, were each filled to the first mark (1cm) with catalase, and to the second mark (3 cm) with water. However, the pH of the water had been adjusted differently for each vile. The first tube received water adjusted to pH three, the second received water adjusted to pH seven, and third received pH eleven. Consequently, each tube was then filled to the last mark (7 cm) with hydrogen peroxide, swirled to mix and then observed after twenty seconds. After twenty seconds passed, the bubble columns of each of he tubes were measured in millimeters. Results were recorded on a chart. RESULTS As expected, during the temperature test, the least amount of bubbles were emitted in tubes that had been exposed to extreme heat. The tube placed in boiling water yielded zero millimeters of bubbles. The boiling water denatured the enzyme and altered its chemical structure rendering it incapable of undergoing metabolic reactions. For these same reasons, the vile placed in a hot bath, containing water at 85 degrees, produced only one

Parr embraced the reformist ideals of reading and interpreting the Bible for herself and firmly believed that religion should be debated and discussed. As shown in her own writings, Parr did not want a priest, or any man for that matter, to speak for her when it came to religious matters and beliefs. According to Porter, he refused to embrace the Lutheran doctrine of justification by faith alone (a belief that Parr held, staunchly), because he believed there must be more to salvation and would not accept that good works and charity did not play their part in the redemption of the soul. Parr blatantly ignored the Act for the Advancement of the True Religion by distributing her text, and while she initially had the blessing of Henry, he quickly regretted the decision and is inspired by those around him to have Parr arrested for her beliefs and for spreading them. Parr is fortunate to get a hold of the warrant, and swore as an axiom I have not done it (argued religion) so much to maintain opinion, as I did it rather to minister talk, not only to the end that your majesty might with less grief pass over this painful time of your infirmary, being attentive to our talk, and hoping that your majesty shall reap some easy by it; but also that I hearing your Majesty s learned discourse might receive some profit. This is just a new chapter in my life. I was on my way to my next duty assignment, the 10th Mountain Division stationed at Fort Drum, New York. I was filled with dread from all the bad things people said about this duty station like, Be ready for the 8 month winters and Get ready to deploy a lot. It was a very scary time for me. I was told these comments when I was at my last duty station in Okinawa, Japan. I thought about them the entire time from the moment I got my orders to the moment I hopped on that plane to get there. After finding my seat, I was hit with the full idea of what I was about to experience. As I was stepping off of the plane into the lobby, I was hit with what part of my new experience was going to be like; bitter cold. It was only the beginning of April and it was still colder than any other part of the United States. As I walked into the airplane lobby and waited to grab my bags, I saw a room at the end of the terminal labeled USO . All around me were other people from flights that just landed. A few, I could tell, were in the military; judging by their close kempt haircuts and confident statures. After grabbing my bags off of the carousel, I walked to the USO room where I saw an older woman talking

Testimonies such as those found in Common Sense, American Yawp, and Narrative of Sojourner Truth, are just some examples of the cruelty and harshness slaves endured. Many people of different races and social standings rose together in Christianity and spoke out against slavery in hopes to reform the new country. Those such as Harriet Jacobs, Charles G. Finney, David Walker, and Sojourner Truth s testimonies and speeches still ring throughout history today. Harriet Jacobs was born into slavery. Her parents, both of mixed race, were salves as well; although her father was such a skilled carpenter he was able to buy his freedom but unfortunately not his families, Jacobs mother on the other hand died as a slave. ABSTRACT Oral controlled release and site specific drug delivery system has been of great interest in pharmaceutical field to achieve improved therapeutic advantage. Drug absorption in the gastrointestinal tract is a highly variable procedure and prolonging gastric retention of the dosage form extends the time for drug absorption. Gastro retentive drug delivery system is one of such novel approaches to prolong gastric residence time, thereby targeting site specific drug release in the stomachfor local or systemic effects. This approach is useful particularly for the drugs which have narrow absorption window in the upper part of gastro intestinal tract. Various approaches of gastro retentive drug delivery system, such as floating and non floating, have been discussed in this review. This review also gives an overview of merits, demerits and evaluation parameters of gastro retentive system. Key words: Gastro retentive drug delivery system, non floating system, floating system, evaluation parameters INTRODUCTION: Despite the tremendous advancement in drug delivery, oral route is the most preferred route to the systemic circulation due to the ease of administration, low cost of drug, patient compliance and flexibility in formulation. About 90% of all drugs used to produce systemic effects are administered by oral route. Of the drugs that are administered orally, solid oral dosage forms represent the preferred class of products. The definition then goes onto discuss the interconnectedness and interdependent of a society that allows a free transaction of capital and goods and services through the opening of boarders and uninterrupted movement of labour. (Business Dictionary. (2017). Globalisation can be seen in all aspects of a modern society and in the day to day life of individuals, for example, with the advancement of technology we have seen an increase of global communication with the use of the internet to allow people to connect and understand different backgrounds and culture. This essay will primarily focus on the way in which globalisation can affect and make an impact on the economies of small community s and what the effects it has on the economy on a global scale. Globalisation can be argued to be the way of the future, the way to connect countries, cultures and individuals. It is argued that the benefits encourage a less developed country to join in the path of globalisation is that in theory it is meant to allow for the free movement of labour, this being beneficial to a country that may be experiencing labour shortages. This can be seen to be effective in the European Union as they allowed migrants from Eastern Europe to move west to meet with their labour demand. Another benefit of globalisation could be an increase in competition

  • 37. Memory Vs Human Memory 1. The purpose of memory, whether it be in humans or machine, is to store information for a period of time. Both human memory and the memory used in artificial devices are capable of doing so but they differ in many ways; two differences being discussed will be on how memory is encoded, and how memory is stored. There are endless stimuli in the world meaning we humans are constantly feeling, hearing, smelling, tasting, and touching; at any given point in time, our brain is working and processing this into our sensory memory. Information encoded in our sensory memory will only last a very short amount of time (A few seconds sometimes even shorter) before it is either forgotten or transferred to the next memory store, short term (Also known as working memory). The main factor in whether information is further retained to short term memory, is attention. The three main ways information can be encoded is through visual, auditory, and semantic coding. Visual coding enables information to be stored as pictures, auditory stored as sounds, and semantic stored as meaning. Memory encoding in machines can be stored as pictures and sounds but meaning is exclusive to humans. Computer memory does not depend on attention; whatever is captured/experienced by the machine will be encoded in the artificial device. Unlike human memory, the information will not be forgotten if there is not enough attention and will be stored; bringing us to our next difference. The memory used in artificial devices uses complex systems such as primary /secondary memory, RAM, caches, etc. However, machine memory can explained described as black or white ; they either know something or they don t, and when they do learn something they generally don t forget (Unless they re programmed to do so). This is where memory storage differs in the human system. As previously mentioned information is stored in the short term/working memory with attention heavily factoring it s retention. Now for information to stay in the active working memory, it must rehearsed over and over. Once mental activity stops it is either forgotten or goes further into the long term memory. The long term memory store is similar to memory storage system in computers in the sense

He previously worked on models for Elle, Dior, L Oreal, along with an abundance of others. I believe that hair should look good long after the client has left the salon, states Mallett, as should every hairdresser. With his particular look shown above, I enjoy it due to the cleanliness and precise work shown. Every sliver of hair is placed in such a manner that the entire modelis perceived in a fancy way. Let the Punishment Fit the Crime in the State of California The Punishment After having been arrested and charged with the killing of my children s father, I was subsequently convicted of first degree murder, PC§187a (CA Codes). This leads me to think that CCWF is in full alignment with the retributivist philosophy, so why then do I have feelings of optimism while incarcerated here? Utilitarians view punishment as a pathway lined with deterrence... one that ultimately leads criminals towards rehabilitation. This is a forward looking approach, as it focuses on the future of criminal behavior (Hemmens et al., 2013). This perspective concentrates on two separate entities. Those being the person whom is punished, as well as the other members of society. If one were to ask a utilitarian, Why Punish? the response would likely be, We must punish in order to promote good and prevent evil... in the future. There is little focus on the crime that has already been committed or under what circumstances that it occurred. The concern is with what society should do next in order to prevent it from happening again. Utilitarians believe that if no good consequences result from punishment, then no punishment is justified. One could look at this philosophy of punishment as a doorway of opportunity for criminals, but also as a doorway of fear... one that keeps law abiding citizens from
