Inventory and Forecast
3. Based on the description in the text and the evidence in the Exhibits 6 and 9, what went wrong with
the SF 6000 forecast? Launching the first 8 megapixel sensor and 10x zoom camera on the market was
a big accomplishment for Leitax. On their official press release, the SF 6000 was named as an a tool
for serious photographers . There were huge expectations about the product and everyone at the
company was pretty excited about it. Their biggest challenge was the forecast for a new product with
huge expectations and great reviews. It was no easy task given all the parts involved were blinded by
excitement, and according to their new model of forecast, the final number should be a consensus
between all the interested functions. Leitax ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ignoring capacity was an issue. By doing that, if maxim capacity was reached, there was a huge
possibility of backordering and that would translate in decrease of velocity, inaccurate planning and
worse: unhappy customer. Capacity should considered into forecast and planning. The CP should
focus on sell in as it is more attractive to the retailers, the product is closer to final customer so there is
improvement on the supply chain, not to mention the costs over the inventory. Also, the compensation
metric for sales used should be the percentage of sell in that became sell through. This way, Leitax
would make sure that they are not boosting the numbers as they are compensated by the percentage of
sell in that became sell through. The company would have more accurate numbers and it would not
incur on permanent inventory costs as they forecast would be more accurate. CP should not be
reviewed monthly basis, but it should be a intermediate range term and check point every quarterly.
On the other hand, sales, marketing and production should work closely on a weekly, monthly basis to
determine the best course of action to achieve the optimal balance between supply and demand while
meeting the expected forecast. They also should be able to provide an accurate response and predict if
anything had changed and it needed to be reviewed by DMS. that brought formalityformality to the
process and a new process where everyone would agree,

The word Wit has multiple definitions, most of which...
The word Wit has multiple definitions, most of which metaphysical poets use in their distinctive
poetic style. Definitions for wit include: the keen perception and cleverly apt expression of those
connections between ideas that awaken amusement and pleasure (Dictionary.com 2014) and
understanding, intelligence, or sagacity, astuteness (Dictionary.com 2014).
In this paper I will unpack the main features of metaphysical poetry and explore the relevance of wit
and conceit in relation to John Donne s works. Furthermore, I will endeavour to make connections
between John Donne, the person and John Donne, the poet. By analysing different poems I will draw
on Donne s history, poetic style, and era to ascertain whether Donne s use of wit is a ... Show more

In 1601, Donne s life s successes were reversed after secretly marrying Anne Moore with whom he
had twelve children. Their marriage ruined his career and he was sent to prison with Samuel Brooke
who married them. The Donne family lived in poverty for ten years and was dependent on the charity
of friends, family and patrons. Donne s works reflects his life s journey where in the early years when
he was enjoying womanizing, travelling and building his career, he wrote his love poems. However,
during Donne s lean years, he wrote his divine poems and elegies for patrons. During the early 1600 s
after being forced to convert to Anglicanism by King James I and the death of his wife Anne in 1617,
Donne continued to write poetry, notably his Holy Sonnets (1618) (Jokinen, 2006). He was consumed
with grief by the loss of his wife for whom he wrote the seventeenth Holy Sonnet, Since she whom I
lov d hath paid her last debt (Jokinen, 2006). In the later years of his life Donne s work focused on
death. His private meditations are testimony to his mind set during this time of his life. Most notably
is Meditation 17, which include the immortal lines No man is an island and never send to know for
whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee (Jokinen, 2006).
The works of John Donne continues to evoke discordance among literary critics. Donne, who is

King Lear Betrayal Quotes Analysis
The common quote of To every action there is a repercussion definitely holds true in the book King
Lear written by Shakespeare. This is especially shown between loyalty and betrayal when analysed in
tandem. This can be seen in this work all throughout the course of Act 1. First off with King Lear s
three daughters; Goneril, Regan and Cordelia. The three daughters have always been told what to do
by the King(quote), they very rarely were able to make choices on their own. This made them
classified as loyal. Until one day when Cordelia decided to make her own choice. (Quote) Cordelia

The Importance Of Creon In Shakespeare By Sophocles ...
In Antigone, it is generally believed that the gods possess limitless power and are able to control the
fate of every mortal, no matter how powerful. However, there are also people who believe that they
can change their fate, only if they have enough power. Creon, the most powerful mortal in the play, is
one of those people. Due to the unmatched amount of power he has over Thebes, Creon feels he is
able to challenge the gods and the fate given to him. After attempting to do so, he finds himself stuck
with a tragic fate, resulting in the loss of everything dear to him, including his power. Sophocles uses
Creon as a way to show that everyone has a physical limit, but not a mental limit. When our thoughts
and beliefs cause us to act beyond that physical limit, fate will always be there to provide the
acceptable consequences.
The play introduces Creon as a character whose power enables him to do as he pleases. After
becoming the king of Thebes, he immediately recognizes his power. Shortly after being introduced
into the play, Creon passes a proclamation stating, Never at my hand will the traitor be honored above
the patriot. (Lines 232 233). Due to his personal beliefs towards the sons of Oedipus, Creon passes a
law forbidding the burial of Polynices, the brother who fought against Thebes during war. In no
attempt to object, the Leader responds saying, The power is yours, I suppose, to enforce it with the
laws, both for the dead and all of us, the living. (Lines 238 240).

The Cloud Based Electronic Health Record
The Cloud Year after year, installing, upgrading, patching, backing up and, in general troubleshooting
server issues was a taxing responsibility that burdened the day to day operations of a practice. Finally,
a cloud based electronic health record (EHR) system removes the obligation from playing IT tech and
lets one focus on managing practice operations and patient care. More and more, EHR vendors are
developing cloud based systems due to the client demand for a product that is reliable, versatile,
practical and convenient to all users, including physicians, staff, patients and third party companies.
Introducing a practical workflow that streamlines the day to day processes to include record
documentation, prescription, diagnostic and laboratory ordering, scheduling, insurance verification,
billing and collection tasks, improve effectiveness and efficiency of the practice. As more importance
is focused on patient care, as opposed to focusing on purchasing and maintaining hardware and
software, a cloud based EHR system relieves some of the financial costs and time consuming duties
associated with managing an on site server. Providing bi directional integration with laboratories and
third party companies with an option to publish results to the patient portal plays a crucial role in
enhancing patient doctor relationship while empowering patients to manage their health. Therefore, a
cloud based EHR system adds considerable value to the medical practice. Cloud based EHR systems

Depression Among College Students
There are summative themes that can be derived from the documents that reveal some insights
regarding depression among college students. The researchers propose some interpretations of the
findings that are subjected to further study.
The occurrence of depression among college students is from their experiences in school, family and
peers. College is not also something of a pressure cooker for depression because the more an
individual surrounded by people who are depressed is the more he/she may become depressed. We all
know that college life is where we experienced more pressure because of adjusting to new life and
surroundings and many paper works to be done. But then, people around an individual have a great
impact to be depressed. They may be the cause of depression to someone especially when they have
something to argue about. And when those people around let them felt irritated. Depression can also
occurs when an individual experience traumatic event in the family such as death of relatives, broken
family and other family problems. It can also occur in school like exposure to new cultures and
alternate ways of thinking.
There are signs and symptoms of depression that the researchers identify. These are constant feeling of
sadness, anxiety and emptiness, a general feeling of pessimism sets in, the person feels hopeless,
individuals can feel restless, sufferer may experience irritability, patients may lose interest in activities
or hobbies they once enjoyed, he/she may

Jumping The Fire
Sitting around the fire we laughed at the thought. 1,000,000 dollars every year for 10 years, but you
are required to hold someone s hand and stare at them while you relieve yourself in the bathroom. I
lay this thought down on the table awaiting responses. Unanimously everyone said; Yes idiot you
could just pay someone to do it. we all again laughed at the obscene thought of having to pay someone
to sit down and hold your hands and watch you, through the involuntary hand squeezes to the noises to
be made, the mere thoughts makes us exceed a mere chuckle to loud outbursts on this serene summer
night. We keep telling more stories and more random questions as the night drags on. Justin how much
for you to jump the fire? I question, laughing at the idea with Connor and Noah. Free, watch this. He
backs up in our disbelief and full sprint hurdles the fire. oh... Wow! we exclaim in unison turning to

Fine, do it hotshot. They say calling my bluff. They pour lighter fluid on the fire causing it to grow
larger and larger. I step back, stumbling over tufts of grass blown away by the sheer size of the fire. It

Jump. I back up. Flash. Skid mark. Arm swing. Jump. Spin. Hard landing. Foot slip. Second skid
mark. Triumphant grin. Told ya I could do it. Flash. Burn mark. Loud noise. It s storming. We went
inside. The Story ends. The night has also ended. At this time I discovered that simply taking any
moment for granted could be the wrong choice. A simple night around a fire telling dumb jokes could

Essay about The Problem of God in Devils and The Brothers...
The Problem of God in Devils and The Brothers Karamazov
In contemplating the creation of the novel The Idiot, Dostoyevsky wrote in a letter to A.N. Maikov
that he hoped to focus the work around a question with which I have been tormented, consciously or
unconsciously all my life that is, the existence of God. 1 Dostoyevsky s personal struggle with the
question of faith, and also his own experience with trying doubts as a believer, are manifested in the
characters he writes. A large number of Dostoyevsky s books are written within the framework of a
Christian doctrine, juxtaposing characterizations of believers and non believers, enforcing the ultimate
good and reason that follow from possessing a faith. Dostoyevsky also ... Show more content on

Moreover, these childhood associations seem to have strongly imprinted upon his mind, This book
[the book of Job] Anna [his wife], it s strange is one of the first which made an impression on me in
life, I was just then only a little boy. 5
While a large portion of Dostoyevsky s nurturing seems to have occurred in a Christian nest, he was
also exposed to the harsh qualities possessed by man. His father was, though reverent, a drunk, and
was later murdered by serfs on account of his inhumane treatment.6
This rougher sphere of his upbringing manifested itself in Dostoyevsky s early adulthood. He became
involved in a group known as the Russian Utopian Socialists, influenced by Belinsky, a well known
literary critic. The partnership formed by the two presumably shook Dostoyevsky s faith, as his
revered mentor found that as a socialist, he had to destroy Christianity in the first place. He knew that
the revolution must necessarily begin with atheism. 7 Later, though, Dostoyevsky broke off from the
specific branch of the movement, forming the Durov circle. He was arrested for the circulation of a
private letter full of insolent expressions against the Orthodox Church. 8 Evidently, he had forgotten
his mother s teachings.
While in prison (where the only book allowed was The Bible) it appears Dostoyevsky began to
reemerge as a believer, writing in a letter to Mrs. N.D. Fonvizin:

Hearing Loss Data Analysis
LINICAL DATAANALYSIS The type of hearing loss was classified as sensorineural, conductive, or
mixed according to the European Working Group on Genetics of Hearing Impairment.21 Conductive
hearing loss was defined as normal bone conduction thresholds (20 dB) and an averaged air bone
gap of 15 dB or more for 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz. Mixed hearing loss was defined as a bone
conduction threshold greater than 20 dB in combination with an averaged air bone gap 15 dB or more
for 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz. Sensorineural hearing loss was defined as an averaged air bone gap of
less than 15 dB for 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz. The degree of hearing loss was categorized in 2 different
ways: employment of commonly used age independent clinical guidelines,22 and ... Show more

Low frequency and midfrequency thresholds were most commonly affected in the youngest age
groups. High frequency configurations in young children were gently sloping, whereas older subjects
had steeply sloping high frequency configurations. To identify the contribution of the underlying gene
mutations to the observed sensorineural hearing loss, audiometric thresholds at 500, 1000, 2000, 4000,
and 8000 Hz, as well as PTAs, were compared with those reported for an otologically screened
population 25 years and older.23,24 Subjects with a history of otologic surgery were excluded from
our analysis. Fourteen had undergone prior placement of 1 or more sets of tympanostomy tubes and 2
had undergone tympanoplasties (no subjects reported a history of mastoidectomy). As shown in Figure
2, approximately 60% (14 of the 24 subjects) of all affected adults with complete bone conduction
data had at least 2 thresholds above the 95th percentile or, in the case of 8000 Hz, above the 90th
percentile. 2 Analysis revealed no statistically significant correlation between the number of

South Korea is a leading example of the world that has shown the world that how fast can they grow?
One of the poorest countries in 1960s has become one of the most prosperous countries in the world.
The development started in 1960s with the high government spending on the development of
infrastructures such as national highways. The development was financed largely by the remittances

in 1960 is equal to the GDP of Nepal in 2000. Moreover, the similarities between these countries was
Both the economies relied heavily on the remittances by the working abroad. We discuss the reasons
behind the rapid growth of South Korea and why Nepal is still struggling in the economic growth. At
the beginning of 1960, Korean economy exported only $32.83 million worth of goods while importing

similar style within the film? These questions are to give an understanding that focuses mainly on

The film techniques he uses in most of his films is symmetry, the whip pan and the steadicam. In
Magnolia , the steadicam was used when Stanley, the quiz kid is guided through the TV studio. It

studio. Compare to Hard Eight , Anderson uses his steadicam to follow Sydney, a man in his 60s
walking in the casino, where you are not only focus on him but you see the other characters
interactions in the background. The symmetry shot was used when two people are talking to each
other in their opposite sides. In Magnolia , we can see Frank and the woman interviewer talking to
each other in their opposite sides, hence it s called a symmetry shot. Anderson used this shot to create
a sense of tranquility but also a sense of anxiety of the characters. The famous whip pan technique that
Anderson used in Magnolia creates an effective fast paced atmosphere as he uses the inter cuts

How Trap Is A Sport That I Have Been Enjoyed For Over Four...
Trap is a sport that I have been enjoying for over four years. Learning more about it for the purpose of
this research paper is something that was enjoyable. This paper will cover the history of the sport,
some of the equipment and entry costs involved, and provide some highlights of basic gun safety
required for any trap shooter.
Trap shooting began in the U.S. around 1825. Shooters typically used shotguns to fire at targets
thrown, and later launched, into the air. The first U.S. recorded trap match was conducted in
Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1931. These early shooting competitions used live birds for the targets, as had
been the history in Europe where the sport originated. America, however, led the way in developing
artificial targets for trap competitions. The first targets were glass balls that contained feathers. The
greatest trap shooters of the 19th century included Adam Bogardus, Ira Paine and Annie Oakley. In a
one day exhibition, Bogardus broke 5,681 glass balls before missing, and Oakley shot 4,722 of 5,000
glass balls released. In pistol, the first recorded match was in 1860 and it was a duel between two men
who shot nine inch China plates from a distance of 100 feet. The winner broke 11 out of 15 plates. In
1865, Buffalo Bill Cody produced shooting pistol exhibitions, which further promoted the sport of
shooting throughout the rest of the United States.
Clay targets, sometimes called pigeons, became popular between 1910 and 1915 when skeet shooting

Why Summer is my Favorite Season of the Year Essay
My favorite season of the year is summer because of the warm weather, the school vacation, and the
endless fun. I really enjoy the warm weather because it s the perfect atmosphere to do outdoor

During summer, you re free to do whatever you want, not worrying about curfew or waking up early
for school. Summer time is a great time to relax with friends and family by soaking up the sun at a
beach or simply having dinner together. I love the hot and humid days that makes you want to dive

The break calls for staying up late and waking up whenever you want to. Everyone works so hard
during the school year, so they deserve that free time. Summer times are stress free, relaxing, and
basically fun. You don t have to worry about homework, projects, and studying for a test. One of my
favorite summer pastimes is staying up late watching movies and eating junk food, and then waking
up late and having brunch. Summer season is the best time for festivals and activities. You can never
get bored on a summer day or night. During the day, there are fun activities such as: swimming,
sports, picnics, and barbeques. Friends and family spend a lot of time together during the summer
time. There is a lot of good food, drinks, and fun music. Everyone is laughing and having a good time.
Summer evenings are the best time for concerts, movies, parties, and relaxing with friends. The
summer evenings are beautiful because of the sparkly and glittery city lights. One of the best events of
the year, July Fourth, happens during summer. The celebration of July fourth is very extravagant and
glamorous. People gather around to celebrate and watch the display of fireworks. The vibrant colors
and the loud sound of the fireworks are amazing. Overall, summer is just a wonderful season with so
much to offer. The best thing about this time of the year is that everyone is so happy, whereas,

A Brief Introduction to Methods of Word Formation in English
A Brief Introduction to Methods of Word Formation in English
I. Introduction Linguistics is the scientific study of human language. Linguistics can be broadly
broken into three categories or subfields of study: language form, language meaning, and language in
context. The earliest known activities in descriptive linguistics have been attributed to Panini around
500 BCE, with his analysis of Sanskrit in Ashtadhyayi. The first subfield of linguistics is the study of
language structure, or grammar. This focuses on the system of ruled followed by the users of a

These components may be individual letters (as in CEO) or parts of words (as in Benelux and
Ameslan). There is no universal agreement on the precise definition of various names for such
abbreviations nor on written usage. In English and most other languages, such abbreviations
historically had limited use, but they became much more common in the 20th century. Acronyms are a
type of word formation process, and they are viewed as a subtype of blending. There are many
different types of the word formation process acronym. Here are several pairs of them.

What Approach Is Likely To Produce The Happier Child
Musical Chairs If we want to live in a world of Epicureanism, we would give each child a prize for

Epicurus is, The belief that happiness is freedom from pain . Granted both children will feel happy at
the time, considering the child that clearly won did not get any satisfaction of the win because the
outcome was both children received a prize. But the real question, by having this type of believes are
we teaching our children how the world really works? The answer is no. Nonetheless the question was

There is much more of an emphasis on training and certification of auditors to understand and be able

These changes in accounting processes are just the beginning of the much broader and much more
pervasive changes at the fundamental business level within companies. The changes required by SOX
also force entirely new approaches to managing, reporting, sorting, and accessing financial
information, often requiring new IT systems and processes as well. The coordination of IT systems

Persuasive Essay On Legalizing Drugs
A controversial subject many Americans are constantly at battle over is legalizing drugs. Some experts
have the opinion that drugs should be legalized for medical treatment, and for help with severe illness.
Other experts argue that this will have a bad effect due to overdosing and addiction, and also the
adverse affect on teens. I do not think that drugs should be legalized but they should allow people with
serious medical conditions to use these illegal drugs. Legalizing drugs would only create and even
bigger drug abuse situation, and especially for juveniles. Legalizing drugs would also create the
question of what to do with criminals who are already incarcerated for this offense. There are surveys,
which give statistics on crime, and how crime rates are affected by the use of drugs. For example,
there is one survey called the National
Crime Victimization Survey which might not be accurate because it only reports on surveys from
households, and not the serious drug users, homeless, or people in prison. The problem needs to be
stopped rather than telling people its okay. I do not think that drugs should be decriminalized because
then individuals will sell, and take drugs even more. There needs to be control, and by
decriminalizeing drugs the situation will only get worse. In some places such as San Francisco,
marijuana has been decriminalized for medical use. A campaign director in Denver, CO tried to
persuade voters to make marijuana legal by saying that it was safer than alcohol. In the Netherlands,
marijuana is already legal and statistics show a significant increase in drug addiction, and crime also
due to the legalization of drugs (Simon). It seems like from places that have legalized drugs , crime
and addiction have become worse. The approach of legalizing drugs in also known as radical dove
approach , while the moderate approach is known as harm reduction which means not enforcing the
penalties of drug use as intensively. I don t think that legalizing drugs is a good idea, because there
would be an increase in the amount of deaths due to overdose. I think the crime rate would also
increase due to people not being able to think clearly, Marijuana is the most commonly used drug, and
has a

Affirmative Improvement Essay
Ways to Improve
The current state of Affirmative action has its advantages and disadvantages and by no means is it
perfect. Addressing the disadvantages is a good place to start on the path for improvement. It is ironic
that its detractors now pitch Affirmative action as reverse discrimination when the original program
was designed to overcome discrimination. In order to overcome this disadvantage we cannot simply
eliminate the program because it truly does facilitate the integration and tolerance of women and
minorities in the United States.
Another disadvantage of affirmative action is that the rules in place lower the standards and make
people less accountable. Examples of this have been seen universities and colleges across the country

The policies of Affirmative action were not designed to reduce racism; they were created to implement
policies for equality. Many racial prejudices have been fuel by past events in this country history that
cannot be undone. The American Physiological institute found that despite their increase for racial
equality white Americans are reluctant to implement reform policies because of negative stereotypes
of African Americans as lazy, welfare dependent or somehow culturally more prone to violence.
(Bobo, Lawrence D. and Fox, Cybelle 2003) To reduce racial prejudices and stereotypes, the country
will need to implement reform that addresses the inequalities and stereotyping that exist today. There
is also the topic of gender prejudices that have been by media. In an article by the Chronicle gave light
on gender stereotypes such as Women are inherently more caring and more relational than men and
Boys have a mathematics gene, or at least a biological tendency to excel in math, that girls do not
possess. (BARNETT and RIVERS, 2004)The article gave valid research that theses stereotypes are
more of a product of social engineering rather than fact based. IT is imperative that affirmative action

The Theme of Raymond Carver s poem Photograph of My Father In His 22nd Year
Growing up we all had expectations of who we should be imposed upon us by our parents. Whether or
not we achieved those expectations upon reaching adulthood isn t really the final outcome. There is a
greater lesson learned regardless of how we benefited from the imposition. And that realization is
what truly shapes our final character. Raymond Carver entertains this topic in his poem, Photograph of

The young man continues in the description saying, In jeans and denim shirt, he leans against the front
fender of a 1934 Ford (6 7). These details help to set up the false image the young man s father is
trying to convey. Upon growing up and then looking back on his father, the young man is able to
provide the retrospective comment, He would like to pose bluff and hearty for his posterity, wear his
old hat cocked over his ear (8 9). This statement illustrates the fact that the young man, upon looking
back, has realized that his father desperately tried to project a self image uncharacteristic to his actual
self. He is fully aware of whom he is looking at, but just like the kitchen, it feels completely alien to
him. The young man states that he can tell his father is attempting to falsify his look and attitude for
the sake of his son. The last line of the stanza reinforces this idea when the son proclaims, All his life
my father wanted to be bold (10). This comment comes from a young man who has obviously lived
his entire life in the shadow of a man constantly trying to be something he wasn t. The reader gets the
idea that the son was constantly subjected to his father s influence upon him to be tough and
masculine just like his dad. The last line of the stanza relays to the reader the notion that the young
man only realized his father s masked character upon looking back over the course

toddler scrambling around with a basketball. Throughout these scenes, Oscar determines everyone s

Domestic Violence and Abuse
Domestic Violence and Abuse
Abstract Domestic Violence is one of the most occurring situations found in the United States. This
form of violence, also known as spousal abuse, happens within a relationship that is intimate or within
a marriage. This particular issue seems to be found to affect women more often than men in varying
ways such as injury or even death. Some of the injuries found in domestic violence cases are the head,
neck, chest, face, breast, and abdomen, which are the most frequently injured. Many people believe
that domestic violence is something that pertains to physical damage, but it has more of a
psychological affect. The emotional aspect of domestic violence seems to be overlooked because one s

Statistics are still proving that men are still known to be the abusers many more times than woman. In
2007, crimes by intimate partners accounted for 23 percent of all violent crimes against females and 3
percent of all violent crimes against males. (The National Center for Victims of Crime, 2011) Many
may suspect that the reason that it seems like men are less likely to be abused is because of the gender
and the masculinity, compared to the body types of women and the fragility. Despite the gender
aspects, there are cases of domestic violence when it was individuals of the same sex. Same sex
relationships have about the same frequency of occurrences as to heterosexual relationships.
Stated by Zach Kansler, No intimate relationship is immune from the danger of domestic abuse.
Homosexual couples and heterosexual couples experience similar rates of harm inflected by domestic
abuse. (Kansler, 2011) He further states, Despite the similarities in rate of occurrence, and that humans
should be treated equally and with dignity, some states expressly treat the personal safety of
homosexuals as less valuable than that of heterosexuals.[2] This injustice is manifested in the express
lack of availability of a basic legal tool of self preservation, the order of protection. Furthermore,
where these orders are available to victims of same sex domestic abuse ( SSDA ), it is not through

Mao s Last Dancer
In the graphic novel American Born Chinese (2006) by Gene Luen Yang and the full length
autobiography Mao s Last Dancer (2003) by Li Cunxin, both writers use a range of stylistic features
and generic conventions to create a memorable text. A memorable text consists of elements or issues
present in a text, which the reader finds notable or striking. This can be due to a number of factors,
particularly features of the text that the author has altered intentionally to evoke certain audience
emotions. The dominant idea of metamorphosis or transformation presented in ABC are very much

Analysis Of Lynyrd Skynyrd s Simple Man
Striving for Simple Certain songs resonate deep down within one s soul. The reason may not seem
clear, but particular songs cause an effect on a person when they are heard. Many songs cause this
reaction, and even though a person cannot quite put his or her finger on the how and why, a person
experiences this forever. A song can achieve incredible things. Whether the song lifts someone s
spirits, transports their mind to a time and place long since passed, or breaks their hearts, music is a

The Human Rights Act 1998 Essay
Human Rights Act 1998
The Human Rights Act 1998 sets out the rights and freedoms of every citizen in the United Kingdom.
The HRA has three main effects, the first one is that it incorporates set out in the European
Convention of Human Rights into British law. Therefore if someone in the UK were to breech your
Human Rights you would be able to deal with this through the British court instead of the European
Court of Human Rights in France, which is what people had to do previously if their human rights
were breeched. This means in Britain in requires everyone (schools, police, courts, local authorities
and hospitals) carrying out public functions to respect and protect their own and others human rights.
These rights are called Convention Rights.
For the Human Rights Act to work it means all public bodies have to work with government, the
public can do this by respecting the rights and the government will put the laws in place so that others
respect your human rights too. For example, everyone has the right to life and this doesn t only rely on
the government to make sure you receive this right, but it also depends on those around you not to
harm you in any way, this is why the government has put in laws to try and stop people from harming
you so that you get that basic right.

Consequences Of Globalisation For Sub Saharan Africa
5. Is the criminalisation of the State a useful and accurate analysis of the consequences of
globalisation for Sub Saharan Africa? Exemplify your answer.
The Criminalisation of the State in Africa is an unhelpful and inaccurate phenomena which postulates
that at the heart of political and governmental institutions within Africa lies crime. It is clear that in the
wake of globalisation and post colonial neoliberal reforms Africa has struggled to maintain its stature
in the world wide global economy; the GDP for the whole of Sub Saharan Africa stands at $744

Africa has a history of political and civil unrest dating back to the late 19th century and the start of the
colonial occupation of African nations. Since independence many nations have struggled with
undemocratic governments famous for corruption, embezzlement and money laundering. Within the
criminalisation of state theory it is claimed that Sub Saharan Africa has a standardised criminal model
derived from dominant social groups exploiting the income gained from their insertion into the
international economy as a method of dependence (Bayart, Ellis and Hibou 1999). This is an attempt
to show the historical context of the criminality within the state as if it is something that has existed
throughout all of the African nations importing and exporting life span. In order to suit this argument
it is easy to use few famous state leaders, such as Charles Taylor or Joseph Momoh, who are renowned
for their criminal activity as examples; however to paint a whole continent with the same brush seems

Bicycle Thieves Themes
Bicycle Thieves, an Italian film directed by Vito De Sica is a classic of the Neorealist film movement.
The film depicts a story of a father and son and their journey together to find the main character s;
Antonio Ricci s; stolen bike. On a baseline level, this film shows a sense of mystery and action, all
surrounded by the family unit. The family unit divides into a few prevalent themes within the film
such as the bond of husband and wife, the bond of the father and son and the karma philosophy and
specifically how it affects community. The sense of family is a strong theme within the film Bicycle
Thieves. This is played out through Antonio s relationships with his wife, Maria. In the beginning,
Antonio and Maria s relationship takes hold of the story. Their relationship to another is compact and
yet pure. In many ways, at first one can see Maria s character as plot device. Yet upon closer
examination one can see she sets up the strong family unit that drives her husband and son; Bruno;

realization in the later months of 2517 The Spartan II project was conceived by Dr. Catherine Halsey
who happened to be successor to the ORION Project and was the best possible solution to end the
widespread raged that flooded throughout UNSC space. The project was created these goals in mind.
First was to create a group of elite soldiers meant to subdue any obstacle in their way, with little to no
military casualties, second goal was to minimize civilian casualties and to prevent a civil war from
ever happening and thirdly goal was minimizing the general cost of war. Halsey s proposal for the
project was farfetched at best it detailed radical changes and would test the boundaries of people s
ethical beliefs and moral code. The first and most controversial was the subjects themselves, they were
picked from a gene candidate pool of boys all at the age of six years old. This narrowed the

Informative Essay On Mexican American Food
There are food trucks all over this great nation of ours, offering a large variety of cuisine. Preparing
for a nation wide road trip to specifically try out some of the best food trucks in America definitely
sounds like a sweet deal. While you can stop off at any random fast food place or ubiquitous chain
restaurant for something fried or greasy, tasting food from a very special vehicle on four wheels has

Being a Mexican Korean fusion, this is one of the most fantastic novelty food trucks. Although the

The Importance Of Social Media And Social Relationships
Recent times have shown an exponential growth in terms of innovation and technology. Because of
this it is vital that we examine the importance of social media in the way we maintain and create
relationships, and how that has affected how happy we are. In this paper I will be arguing that the use
of technology is necessary in order to sufficiently maintain and create better relationships which
increase our overall level of happiness. Relationships are the key to our happiness. According to
psychologist Alt Markman, our relationships help create a sense of belonging which increases our
overall happiness (Markman). Factors such as longing working hours, and global migration have led
to increased social isolation. Social media allows us have to constant connection with others, helping
us build upon and strengthen the relationships we have started, thus solving the problem of social
isolation.
The first reason social media is necessary for us to create sustainable new relationships is the lack of
time people have in today s society. Zeynep Tufekci, a sociology professor at UNC writes that social
isolation has risen not because of social media, but because of obstacles such as ... long working hours
... (Tufekci). Moreover, A Harvard Business School survey of 1,000 professionals found that 94%
worked at least 50 hours a week, and almost half worked more than 65 hours which is significantly
more than it had been before (The Economist). Technology such as smartphones make it

Essay On Genetically Modified Animals
Hunting, when you get to feel the thrill of lining up the shot that will bring down an enormous buck,
waiting for the right moment to pull the trigger, and then watching it fall where it stands. It is a huge
adrenaline rush and about 11 million people in the United States hunt the famous whitetail deer
(Bestul). However, fewer people are able to hunt because glyphosate has caused the deer population to
severely decline. The issue arose in 1996 when Monsanto released Roundup Ready crop varieties,
which can withstand the application of Roundup herbicide and pesticide (Waldman 42). Monsanto
enticed farmers by presenting the advantages of quicker maturing seeds with higher yields, improved
nutrient composition, and an increased tolerance to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An article written by Peter Waldman reveals that traces of glyphosate have been detected in cookies,
crackers, chips, breakfast cereals, and honey, and in human urine and breast milk (42). This highlights
the evidence that no matter where you live, you are ingesting glyphosate. At the same time, this quote
is informing people that there are no regulations on glyphosate remnants in food. Also, in Montana a
wildlife rehabilitator, Judy Hoy, found that glyphosate precipitated mineral deficiencies and thyroid
hormone disruption in whitetail deer, leading to the population decline over the past several years
(Whittington). With this evident one can see that production agriculture is harming our native wildlife.
Meanwhile, Argentina agriculturists are experiencing the obstacle of glyphosate tolerant weeds,
known as superweeds, as well as volunteer genetically engineered crops that pop up and are resistant
to glyphosate. These issues have caused farmers to apply twice as much herbicide on the crops to
remove the contagions (Gordon 154). This crisis shows that glyphosate is not always a surefire way to
remove weeds and farmers have to use more chemical to get the desired effect. Thus, the extra
chemical further pollutes nearby water and the soil causing more damage to the environment.
Likewise, the United Kingdom is encountering identical problems, on top of other serious troubles. An
editorial by Jeffrey Smith shines a light on the issue that when an insect, such

Famous Thinkers
Famous Thinkers: Steven Spielberg Grace Hopper Famous thinkers can come from all walks of life
and can be from our generation and others. Reaching goals can be done in many ways. The similarity
famous thinkers is that they are all share creative minds and are all creative thinkers. Creative ideas
are the foundation of creative process (Goodman Fritchie, 2011). Famous thinkers base their ideas on
searching for solutions to problem, need, or the way others think or view specific issues. When I think
of famous thinkers a vast number of people come to mind. Two thinkers that genuinely stand out to
me are Steven Spielberg Grace Hopper. My article will provide more details on the influence and

Grace Hopper
Grace Hopper, a computer programmer, is known for helping develop and lead the team that created
the first computer language compiler, which was a precursor to the widely used COBOL language.
She also became an admiral in the U.S. Navy.
Grace Hopper also known as Grace Brewster Murray went to college at Vassar and Yale University to
study math and received a master s degree in mathematics. While studying at Yale Grace taught at
Vassar. She was the first women to receive a Ph.D. in mathematics at Yale. Her education brought her
too many opportunities including an associate professor at Vassar. She joined the U.S. Naval Reserve
around World War II and was commissioned as a lieutenant.
Grace Hopper went to Harvard University and was assigned to the Bureau of Ordnance Computation
Project. This is where she learned to program a Mark I computer and later worked with the Mark II
and Mark III computers. The term computer bug had come from an experience Grace had at Harvard
after finding a moth that shorted out the Mark II. She was not the author of computer bug but played
her part. She also led the team that created the first compilers for computer languages.

Property as Feminist Dynamic in Welty s Delta Wedding
In our traditionally patriarchal society, primogeniture is the norm for inheritance of property. For
anyone other than a first born son to inherit the family estate is unusual. Even more unusual is
inheritance by women, who in many localities were forbidden from owning property. Thus, the pattern
of inheritance which Robbie notes in Delta Wedding is a significant departure from cultural norms.
Eudora Welty depicts a domestic politic which represents a feminist dynamic departing from, yet not
entirely escaping, patriarchy.
On the surface, women occupy a dominant role in the domestic politics of the novel. Robbie testifies
to several ways in which this is true. First, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite this clear delineation of an inverted power structure, the Fairchild women do not completely
escape patriarchy. The system is still not truly matriarchal, as the women subvert male dominance
without genuinely replacing it. It was as if the women had exacted the place, the land, for something
for something they had had to give (191). Presumably, this transaction represents an acceptance by the
women of a conditional patriarchy. However, for all their authority in the roost, the women do not
maintain control over their trump card: the land. After exacting the land from the men, they had let it
out of their hands (191). This voluntary subjugation undermines patriarchy without destroying it. By
ceding their power, they place themselves in a position to more legitimately (according to the
dominant culture) regain it. The Fairchild women knew what to ask of their men. Adoration, first but
not least. Then, small sacrifice by small sacrifice, the little pieces of the whole body! (191). At the
conclusion of this intricate game of domestic politics, the women are left in charge, but now at the
impetus of the men. The women, who in their initial power suffered the men s presence, are now
suffered to rule by the men who were their former guests. There is a caveat to this dynamic stated
among the litany of property transfers. Miss Rowena gave Shellmound to Mr. Battle before she ever

Strictly Ballroom Essay
To belong to anyone else, one does not have to give up his or her values or independence by
conforming. This is shown through the texts of the film, Strictly Ballroom directed by Baz Luhrmann
and the children s picture book, The Red Tree written and illustrated by Shaun Tan. In Strictly
Ballroom characters, scenes and techniques such as dialogue, costume, lighting, and marginalization
are used to depict that to belong to anyone else, one does not have to give up his or her values or
independence by conforming. In the children s picture book The Red Tree character, symbols,
illustration and colour are used to successfully portray this.

We lived our lives in fear! which makes it evidently clear that because Doug stopped believing in
himself, and lost his independence, he was not accepted and became marginalized.
In the picture book, The Red Tree written and illustrated by Shaun Tan, the nameless girl goes on a
journey to find herself and whom she belongs to. She is dealing with depression and has lost all
passion for life. Tan uses the symbol of a red tree and its fallen leaves throughout the pages to show
the nameless girl s hope to belong. The colour red is more symbolic of warmth and passion, feelings
that the girl is devoid of and so having red leaves scattered throughout the pages of the book, as the
reader, you begin to realize that she unknowingly follows their trail on her cold and lonely journey. In
this text, powerful images, with few words, are used to express the young girl s state of being. Initially
the nameless girl is in her bedroom, where she wakes to a light shower of nine blackened leaves. Her
room is a soft pastel colour and appears to be safe and warm, yet the text states otherwise Sometimes
the day begins with nothing to look forward to . The safe and warm environment undergoes a dramatic
change as the girl s room is swamped with an abundance of blackened leaves. Faced with this cold and
dark reality, the girl leaves her room in search of a pleasant environment. Throughout the book you
see the young girls journey as she searches for herself and for

Best Buy Company, A New York Stock Exchange Traded...
Best Buy Company, Incorporated (BBY), is a New York Stock Exchange traded supplier of consumer
electronic devices headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Best Buy began as an audio specialty
under the name Sound of Music founded by Richard Schultze and Gary Smoliak in 1966. Schultze
eventually bought out his business partner and in 1986 rebranded the store under its current moniker
and began to expand beyond its Minnesota roots.
Today Best Buy has more than 1,900 stores and is the industry leader, ahead of its primary
competitors; Wal Mart, Amazon, Apple Stores, and Target; in providing consumer electronics in the
United States. Despite its position in the consumer electronics space by 2012 a review of Best Buy
found that nearly all indicators pointed to signs of poor financial health; Earnings per Share (EPS)
were down, same store sales were down, and the stock price had fallen substantially. Ultimately, the
Best Buy board decided to fire CEO Brian Dunn for his failure to recognize and react to the external
forces threatening Best Buy, primarily threats from low cost online retailers such as Amazon. The new
CEO, Hubert Joly, immediately went about setting a new strategic plan entitled Renew Blue in late
2012. As of this writing the Renew Blue strategy is still underway.
According to the most recent Annual Report Renew Blue is dealing with two problems, declining
comparable sales, and declining revenues. There are five pillars underpinning the strategy:

Maximus A Hero
Heroes normally display feats of strength or knowledge exceeding that of normal men. In Ancient
Greek and Roman texts, heroes were inspired by the legends of Hercules, Jason and Perseus who were
all normal men, seen to have super human strength, knowledge, or strategy. Heroes do not all have
godlike strength, many of them were war generals or emperors who faced danger but fought through
adversity with triumphs of courage or bravery or even martyrdom. There are heroes who develop
certain characteristics that are not normally qualities a hero embodies. Throughout the story, Maximus
endures many tribulations that make Maximus evolve as a hero and embody attributes a hero normally
does not have. Maximus embodies various qualities of both a hero ... Show more content on

Maximus and the gladiators fight valiantly and are saved by Maximus superior battle tactics. Maximus
is able to lead a group of men who have no military experience, to survive a gladiatorial game meant

support of Rome s citizens or its military. Maximus won the crowd over with his superior tactics and

against the single most powerful person in the empire, with the approval of the Roman citizens. Today
I saw a slave become more powerful than the emperor of Rome (Gladiator, 107 min.). Maximus does

  • 2. Inventory and Forecast 3. Based on the description in the text and the evidence in the Exhibits 6 and 9, what went wrong with the SF 6000 forecast? Launching the first 8 megapixel sensor and 10x zoom camera on the market was a big accomplishment for Leitax. On their official press release, the SF 6000 was named as an a tool for serious photographers . There were huge expectations about the product and everyone at the company was pretty excited about it. Their biggest challenge was the forecast for a new product with huge expectations and great reviews. It was no easy task given all the parts involved were blinded by excitement, and according to their new model of forecast, the final number should be a consensus between all the interested functions. Leitax ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ignoring capacity was an issue. By doing that, if maxim capacity was reached, there was a huge possibility of backordering and that would translate in decrease of velocity, inaccurate planning and worse: unhappy customer. Capacity should considered into forecast and planning. The CP should focus on sell in as it is more attractive to the retailers, the product is closer to final customer so there is improvement on the supply chain, not to mention the costs over the inventory. Also, the compensation metric for sales used should be the percentage of sell in that became sell through. This way, Leitax would make sure that they are not boosting the numbers as they are compensated by the percentage of sell in that became sell through. The company would have more accurate numbers and it would not incur on permanent inventory costs as they forecast would be more accurate. CP should not be reviewed monthly basis, but it should be a intermediate range term and check point every quarterly. On the other hand, sales, marketing and production should work closely on a weekly, monthly basis to determine the best course of action to achieve the optimal balance between supply and demand while meeting the expected forecast. They also should be able to provide an accurate response and predict if anything had changed and it needed to be reviewed by DMS. that brought formalityformality to the process and a new process where everyone would agree, ... • 3. The word Wit has multiple definitions, most of which... The word Wit has multiple definitions, most of which metaphysical poets use in their distinctive poetic style. Definitions for wit include: the keen perception and cleverly apt expression of those connections between ideas that awaken amusement and pleasure (Dictionary.com 2014) and understanding, intelligence, or sagacity, astuteness (Dictionary.com 2014). In this paper I will unpack the main features of metaphysical poetry and explore the relevance of wit and conceit in relation to John Donne s works. Furthermore, I will endeavour to make connections between John Donne, the person and John Donne, the poet. By analysing different poems I will draw on Donne s history, poetic style, and era to ascertain whether Donne s use of wit is a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 1601, Donne s life s successes were reversed after secretly marrying Anne Moore with whom he had twelve children. Their marriage ruined his career and he was sent to prison with Samuel Brooke who married them. The Donne family lived in poverty for ten years and was dependent on the charity of friends, family and patrons. Donne s works reflects his life s journey where in the early years when he was enjoying womanizing, travelling and building his career, he wrote his love poems. However, during Donne s lean years, he wrote his divine poems and elegies for patrons. During the early 1600 s after being forced to convert to Anglicanism by King James I and the death of his wife Anne in 1617, Donne continued to write poetry, notably his Holy Sonnets (1618) (Jokinen, 2006). He was consumed with grief by the loss of his wife for whom he wrote the seventeenth Holy Sonnet, Since she whom I lov d hath paid her last debt (Jokinen, 2006). In the later years of his life Donne s work focused on death. His private meditations are testimony to his mind set during this time of his life. Most notably is Meditation 17, which include the immortal lines No man is an island and never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee (Jokinen, 2006). This is especially shown between loyalty and betrayal when analysed in tandem. This can be seen in this work all throughout the course of Act 1. First off with King Lear s three daughters; Goneril, Regan and Cordelia. • 5. The Importance Of Creon In Shakespeare By Sophocles ... In Antigone, it is generally believed that the gods possess limitless power and are able to control the fate of every mortal, no matter how powerful. However, there are also people who believe that they can change their fate, only if they have enough power. Creon, the most powerful mortal in the play, is one of those people. Due to the unmatched amount of power he has over Thebes, Creon feels he is able to challenge the gods and the fate given to him. After attempting to do so, he finds himself stuck with a tragic fate, resulting in the loss of everything dear to him, including his power. Sophocles uses Creon as a way to show that everyone has a physical limit, but not a mental limit. When our thoughts and beliefs cause us to act beyond that physical limit, fate will always be there to provide the acceptable consequences. The play introduces Creon as a character whose power enables him to do as he pleases. After becoming the king of Thebes, he immediately recognizes his power. Shortly after being introduced into the play, Creon passes a proclamation stating, Never at my hand will the traitor be honored above the patriot. (Lines 232 233). Due to his personal beliefs towards the sons of Oedipus, Creon passes a law forbidding the burial of Polynices, the brother who fought against Thebes during war. In no attempt to object, the Leader responds saying, The power is yours, I suppose, to enforce it with the laws, both for the dead and all of us, the living. (Lines 238 240). ... • 6. The Cloud Based Electronic Health Record The Cloud Year after year, installing, upgrading, patching, backing up and, in general troubleshooting server issues was a taxing responsibility that burdened the day to day operations of a practice. Finally, a cloud based electronic health record (EHR) system removes the obligation from playing IT tech and lets one focus on managing practice operations and patient care. More and more, EHR vendors are developing cloud based systems due to the client demand for a product that is reliable, versatile, practical and convenient to all users, including physicians, staff, patients and third party companies. Introducing a practical workflow that streamlines the day to day processes to include record documentation, prescription, diagnostic and laboratory ordering, scheduling, insurance verification, billing and collection tasks, improve effectiveness and efficiency of the practice. As more importance is focused on patient care, as opposed to focusing on purchasing and maintaining hardware and software, a cloud based EHR system relieves some of the financial costs and time consuming duties associated with managing an on site server. Providing bi directional integration with laboratories and third party companies with an option to publish results to the patient portal plays a crucial role in enhancing patient doctor relationship while empowering patients to manage their health. Therefore, a cloud based EHR system adds considerable value to the medical practice. Cloud based EHR systems ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Problem of God in Devils and The Brothers Karamazov In contemplating the creation of the novel The Idiot, Dostoyevsky wrote in a letter to A.N. Maikov that he hoped to focus the work around a question with which I have been tormented, consciously or unconsciously all my life that is, the existence of God. 1 Dostoyevsky s personal struggle with the question of faith, and also his own experience with trying doubts as a believer, are manifested in the characters he writes. His father was, though reverent, a drunk, and was later murdered by serfs on account of his inhumane treatment.6 This rougher sphere of his upbringing manifested itself in Dostoyevsky s early adulthood. He became involved in a group known as the Russian Utopian Socialists, influenced by Belinsky, a well known literary critic. The partnership formed by the two presumably shook Dostoyevsky s faith, as his revered mentor found that as a socialist, he had to destroy Christianity in the first place. He knew that the revolution must necessarily begin with atheism. 7 Later, though, Dostoyevsky broke off from the specific branch of the movement, forming the Durov circle. He was arrested for the circulation of a private letter full of insolent expressions against the Orthodox Church. 8 Evidently, he had forgotten his mother s teachings. While in prison (where the only book allowed was The Bible) it appears Dostoyevsky began to reemerge as a believer, writing in a letter to Mrs. N.D. Fonvizin: I believe that there ... Learning more about it for the purpose of this research paper is something that was enjoyable. This paper will cover the history of the sport, some of the equipment and entry costs involved, and provide some highlights of basic gun safety required for any trap shooter. Trap shooting began in the U.S. around 1825. Shooters typically used shotguns to fire at targets thrown, and later launched, into the air. The first U.S. recorded trap match was conducted in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1931. These early shooting competitions used live birds for the targets, as had been the history in Europe where the sport originated. America, however, led the way in developing artificial targets for trap competitions. The first targets were glass balls that contained feathers. The greatest trap shooters of the 19th century included Adam Bogardus, Ira Paine and Annie Oakley. In a one day exhibition, Bogardus broke 5,681 glass balls before missing, and Oakley shot 4,722 of 5,000 glass balls released. In pistol, the first recorded match was in 1860 and it was a duel between two men who shot nine inch China plates from a distance of 100 feet. The winner broke 11 out of 15 plates. In 1865, Buffalo Bill Cody produced shooting pistol exhibitions, which further promoted the sport of shooting throughout the rest of the United States. • 23. Persuasive Essay On Legalizing Drugs A controversial subject many Americans are constantly at battle over is legalizing drugs. Some experts have the opinion that drugs should be legalized for medical treatment, and for help with severe illness. Other experts argue that this will have a bad effect due to overdosing and addiction, and also the adverse affect on teens. I do not think that drugs should be legalized but they should allow people with serious medical conditions to use these illegal drugs. Legalizing drugs would only create and even bigger drug abuse situation, and especially for juveniles. Legalizing drugs would also create the question of what to do with criminals who are already incarcerated for this offense. There are surveys, which give statistics on crime, and how crime rates are affected by the use of drugs. For example, there is one survey called the National Crime Victimization Survey which might not be accurate because it only reports on surveys from households, and not the serious drug users, homeless, or people in prison. The problem needs to be stopped rather than telling people its okay. I do not think that drugs should be decriminalized because then individuals will sell, and take drugs even more. There needs to be control, and by decriminalizeing drugs the situation will only get worse. In some places such as San Francisco, marijuana has been decriminalized for medical use. A campaign director in Denver, CO tried to persuade voters to make marijuana legal by saying that it was safer than alcohol. In the Netherlands, marijuana is already legal and statistics show a significant increase in drug addiction, and crime also due to the legalization of drugs (Simon). It seems like from places that have legalized drugs , crime and addiction have become worse. The approach of legalizing drugs in also known as radical dove approach , while the moderate approach is known as harm reduction which means not enforcing the penalties of drug use as intensively. I don t think that legalizing drugs is a good idea, because there would be an increase in the amount of deaths due to overdose. Addressing the disadvantages is a good place to start on the path for improvement. It is ironic that its detractors now pitch Affirmative action as reverse discrimination when the original program was designed to overcome discrimination. In order to overcome this disadvantage we cannot simply eliminate the program because it truly does facilitate the integration and tolerance of women and minorities in the United States. Therefore if someone in the UK were to breech your Human Rights you would be able to deal with this through the British court instead of the European Court of Human Rights in France, which is what people had to do previously if their human rights were breeched. In order to suit this argument it is easy to use few famous state leaders, such as Charles Taylor or Joseph Momoh, who are renowned for their criminal activity as examples; however to paint a whole continent with the same brush seems nonsensical and inaccurate. The film depicts a story of a father and son and their journey together to find the main character s; Antonio Ricci s; stolen bike. On a baseline level, this film shows a sense of mystery and action, all surrounded by the family unit. The family unit divides into a few prevalent themes within the film such as the bond of husband and wife, the bond of the father and son and the karma philosophy and specifically how it affects community. The sense of family is a strong theme within the film Bicycle Thieves. This is played out through Antonio s relationships with his wife, Maria. In the beginning, Antonio and Maria s relationship takes hold of the story. Their relationship to another is compact and yet pure. In many ways, at first one can see Maria s character as plot device. The Spartan II Project By Dr. Catherine Halsey It all started with ORION Project without it The Spartan II project never would have been born, it was the idea that a small special forces teams would be better than a large army they were to costly the damage was becoming too great. This new idea was cheeps saved the lives of solders and was better at getting the job done. But combating with the insurgents was becoming too much for the UNSC to manage. As the enemy grow in numbers and strength they became more effective and more forceful, the need for large scale military campaigns became increasingly encouraged. Soon after this realization in the later months of 2517 The Spartan II project was conceived by Dr. Catherine Halsey who happened to be successor to the ORION Project and was the best possible solution to end the widespread raged that flooded throughout UNSC space. The project was created these goals in mind. First was to create a group of elite soldiers meant to subdue any obstacle in their way, with little to no military casualties, second goal was to minimize civilian casualties and to prevent a civil war from ever happening and thirdly goal was minimizing the general cost of war. Halsey s proposal for the project was farfetched at best it detailed radical changes and would test the boundaries of people s ethical beliefs and moral code. The first and most controversial was the subjects themselves, they were picked from a gene candidate pool of boys all at the age of six years old. This narrowed the ... • 40. The Importance Of Social Media And Social Relationships Recent times have shown an exponential growth in terms of innovation and technology. Because of this it is vital that we examine the importance of social media in the way we maintain and create relationships, and how that has affected how happy we are. In this paper I will be arguing that the use of technology is necessary in order to sufficiently maintain and create better relationships which increase our overall level of happiness. Relationships are the key to our happiness. According to psychologist Alt Markman, our relationships help create a sense of belonging which increases our overall happiness (Markman). Factors such as longing working hours, and global migration have led to increased social isolation. Social media allows us have to constant connection with others, helping us build upon and strengthen the relationships we have started, thus solving the problem of social isolation. The first reason social media is necessary for us to create sustainable new relationships is the lack of time people have in today s society. Zeynep Tufekci, a sociology professor at UNC writes that social isolation has risen not because of social media, but because of obstacles such as ... long working hours ... (Tufekci). Moreover, A Harvard Business School survey of 1,000 professionals found that 94% worked at least 50 hours a week, and almost half worked more than 65 hours which is significantly more than it had been before (The Economist). Essay On Genetically Modified Animals Hunting, when you get to feel the thrill of lining up the shot that will bring down an enormous buck, waiting for the right moment to pull the trigger, and then watching it fall where it stands. It is a huge adrenaline rush and about 11 million people in the United States hunt the famous whitetail deer (Bestul). However, fewer people are able to hunt because glyphosate has caused the deer population to severely decline. The issue arose in 1996 when Monsanto released Roundup Ready crop varieties, which can withstand the application of Roundup herbicide and pesticide (Waldman 42). Monsanto enticed farmers by presenting the advantages of quicker maturing seeds with higher yields, improved nutrient composition, and an increased tolerance to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An article written by Peter Waldman reveals that traces of glyphosate have been detected in cookies, crackers, chips, breakfast cereals, and honey, and in human urine and breast milk (42). This highlights the evidence that no matter where you live, you are ingesting glyphosate. At the same time, this quote is informing people that there are no regulations on glyphosate remnants in food. Also, in Montana a wildlife rehabilitator, Judy Hoy, found that glyphosate precipitated mineral deficiencies and thyroid hormone disruption in whitetail deer, leading to the population decline over the past several years (Whittington). With this evident one can see that production agriculture is harming our native wildlife. Meanwhile, Argentina agriculturists are experiencing the obstacle of glyphosate tolerant weeds, known as superweeds, as well as volunteer genetically engineered crops that pop up and are resistant to glyphosate. These issues have caused farmers to apply twice as much herbicide on the crops to remove the contagions (Gordon 154). This crisis shows that glyphosate is not always a surefire way to remove weeds and farmers have to use more chemical to get the desired effect. Thus, the extra chemical further pollutes nearby water and the soil causing more damage to the environment. Likewise, the United Kingdom is encountering identical problems, on top of other serious troubles. An editorial by Jeffrey Smith shines a light on the issue that when an insect, such ... • 43. Property as Feminist Dynamic in Welty s Delta Wedding... Property as Feminist Dynamic in Welty s Delta Wedding In our traditionally patriarchal society, primogeniture is the norm for inheritance of property. For anyone other than a first born son to inherit the family estate is unusual. Even more unusual is inheritance by women, who in many localities were forbidden from owning property. Thus, the pattern of inheritance which Robbie notes in Delta Wedding is a significant departure from cultural norms. Eudora Welty depicts a domestic politic which represents a feminist dynamic departing from, yet not entirely escaping, patriarchy. On the surface, women occupy a dominant role in the domestic politics of the novel. Robbie testifies to several ways in which this is true. First, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Despite this clear delineation of an inverted power structure, the Fairchild women do not completely escape patriarchy. The system is still not truly matriarchal, as the women subvert male dominance without genuinely replacing it. It was as if the women had exacted the place, the land, for something for something they had had to give (191). Presumably, this transaction represents an acceptance by the women of a conditional patriarchy. However, for all their authority in the roost, the women do not maintain control over their trump card: the land. After exacting the land from the men, they had let it out of their hands (191). This voluntary subjugation undermines patriarchy without destroying it. By ceding their power, they place themselves in a position to more legitimately (according to the dominant culture) regain it. The Fairchild women knew what to ask of their men. Adoration, first but not least. Then, small sacrifice by small sacrifice, the little pieces of the whole body! (191). At the conclusion of this intricate game of domestic politics, the women are left in charge, but now at the impetus of the men. The women, who in their initial power suffered the men s presence, are now suffered to rule by the men who were their former guests. There is a caveat to this dynamic stated among the litany of property transfers. Miss Rowena gave Shellmound to Mr. Battle before she ever ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

She is dealing with depression and has lost all passion for life. Tan uses the symbol of a red tree and its fallen leaves throughout the pages to show the nameless girl s hope to belong. The colour red is more symbolic of warmth and passion, feelings that the girl is devoid of and so having red leaves scattered throughout the pages of the book, as the reader, you begin to realize that she unknowingly follows their trail on her cold and lonely journey.
