Steel During The Second Industrial Revolution
The second Industrial Revolution was an era that created many inventions off of the first Industrial
Revolution, which included refining techniques to chemicals, electricity, transportation, and
production engineering to name a few. One of the most highly technological innovations of the second
Industrial Revolution, however, was the innovation of steel. Steel was used before the second
Industrial Revolution, but was mainly used to make swords and weapons by blacksmiths. Before the
second Industrial Revolution Henry Bessemer writes in his autobiography, At that date there was no
steel suitable for structural purposes . At the time, anything structural, including railways, buildings,
ships, and bridges were made out of wood and iron because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

With the technology advancing, the production of material moved from small shops and homes into
large factories for mass production. This included steel industries that allowed the transfer of

around the cities where more abundant labor was available . Even with the pollution becoming a major
problem during the second Industrial Revolution because of all the manufacturing plants coming into
the city, this era laid the foundation for some of the famous and most popular inventions of today s
time. But still during the era of innovations, many inventions would not have been made possible
without the innovation of steel and the Bessemer process. This would be the reason steel had the most

Essay On The Making Of Malcolm Turn Bull
We ve all heard the tired argument regurgitated by the ostentatious social commentator or the
disillusioned anarchist uncle; politicians are selfish individuals who brilliantly spin webs of deceit
only to create power for themselves and serve their own egos. And so it would seem, that Malcolm
Turnbull an undeniably professional politician who rose to prime ministership undemocratically
perhaps embodies these aforementioned qualities more than most.
This apparently, isn t the case, at least according to his wife, daughter and two mates (and a less
friendly journo, Malcolm Farr) when interviewed on Australian Story; Auntie s foremost programme
where the most hard done by emoters like to, well, emote.
Aired on the 21st of September last year, the half an hour documentary entitled The Making of
Malcolm comprises of interviews telling the story of our prime minister s childhood and life before
politics filmed in 09. This is merged with more recent interviews, exploring Turnbull s political career.
There s an extreme emphasis on personal recollection and anecdotes of past events. This makes for a
very personal production; one where truth takes a back seat behind the spectacular and the endearing.
It also has the convenient side effect of being less disturbed by those pesky things the ... Show more

The trap when analysing and teaching this documentary is to see it as about politics; it s not about
Malcolm the politician (how boring), it s about Malcolm the man. This, of course means that the
extremely small number of teachers that do indeed read mETAphor must instead teach the polemical
characteristics of this film, rather than the factual. The unique format of The Making of Malcolm in
particular the emphasis on the technique of interviews is a fertile source of comparison between
political statements such as this story and more didactic pieces... David Attenborough s vast corpus

New South Wales Public Education System
In 1866 New South Wales enacted the Public Schools Act that aimed to address government spending
on education, resulting in government schools receiving priority over denominational schools, and
providing access to education for the growing number of communities across the colony . The
Catholics opposed this move as it was hostile to the their belief in their own system of education and
Catholic puritans helped fuel the fire of sectarianism, which continued to make state aid for church run
schools a highly controversial issue . However, times were changing as by the 1870s, in New South
Wales, up to sixty per cent of Catholic school children attended state schools . Conflict escalated again
in 1879 when the new Catholic Archbishop, Vaughan, denounced the state schools of New South
Wales describing them as seed plots of future immorality, infidelity and lawlessness and accused them
of squeezing very gradually and almost imperceptibly the Catholic faith out of Catholic people. In
response the Parkes government enacted the Public Instruction Act of 1880, which resulted in primary
education becoming nominally compulsory, cheap, widespread, and removed all state aid to
denominational schools . Again the Catholics responded negatively to the decision, which aided in
preserving the Catholic identity, although this came at the cost of making themselves a distinctive sub
culture in the Australian community . Despite this, Henry Parkes, premier of New South Wales, gave a
speech in 1885, and instead of condemning the Catholics for being different, ... Show more content on

Cost Estimation And Cost Analysis
Cost estimation challenges can be well addressed through adopting the following set of strategic
approach. The key steps undertaken during the given process drives right cost estimation and those
actions are as follows:
 Documenting assumptions and best estimations: the assumptions can be documented in advance
and ensuring that best estimations is done using the right technique. There are various methods of
effort estimation and cost analysis however the right one should be selected on basis project
complexity and requirement. The documentation of assumptions can also help define clear scope for
the project that need to be achieved.
 Activity quantification: all process steps and their related activities need to be quantified in
advance. The quantification to be done primarily on basis of human recourse requirement, technical
requirements, and effort needed to manage project complexity and other key factors.
 Detailing out cost factors: the major cost factors for the project like labour and non labour elements
need to be analysed in advance. The deliverable against each cost factors should be determined while
aligning other key costs like overheads, inflation should be done accordingly.
 Setting up logic between cost and activities: the logical process between the cost factors and related
activities need to be established so that right rationalizes to do cost estimation correctly.

Social Theory And Social Judgement Theory
Abstract
The topic to be discussed here is one of the social sciences based on the theories Groupthink and
Social Judgement Theory. I will propose a study to analyze the relationship between the number of
hours of media an individual receives and its effects on his or her voting behavior. The participants of
this proposed study will be registered voters between the ages of eighteen and seventy and residents of
the United States of America. The primary method of collecting data will be through surveys. Once
the data has been, collected a multiple regression will be constructed. Please note, the terms person,
individual, subject, and voter are used interchangeably throughout the document.
Introduction
This document discusses a proposed study that analyzes a person s media exposure and how that
effects his or her voting behaviors. Throughout this document I will discuss the theories associated
with the proposed study as well as how this study could impact the theories and everyday life that the
theories are based upon.
Associated Theories
The proposed study is based upon two theories: Groupthink and Social Judgement Theory.
Groupthink can be described as a phenomena that causes a group of people to become so extremely
concerned with unanimity that each person makes decisions without considering all of his or her
options. This type of phenomena tends to hold a negative connotation because the thought process
associated with the theory causes people to fall to peer

Analysis Of Valentine By Joyce Carol Oates
Joyce Carol Oates is one of the better writers of this decade; she has created masterpieces with her
stories as well as her work overall throughout the years. In one of her short stories, Valentine, she
creates a series of subtle hints to fairytales. Oates is known for alluding to different and all kinds of
hints in her stories, but her subliminal references to fairytales have been one I have seen the most.
Throughout the short story Valentine, Oates makes many nonchalant allusions to fairytales. Oates
knows how to slip them right by you, if you didn t know any better, you wouldn t even notice where
they are instilled inside the stories themselves. In Valentine, the main character is a young fifteen year
old whose family life isn t the best it could be. That s where the fairy tale starts with this story, Oates
creates a line that says, Upstairs was a partly finished attic narrow as a tunnel with a habitable space at
one end my room (1). Immediately, the audience gets that Cinderella vibe from Oates as she describes
the type of room the narrator lives in. Her aunt and uncle are also not too fond of her as well and
Cinderella had an evil step mother as well as step sisters. They may not be step siblings or step
parents, but they are just the same in the eyes of Oates. You also have Lacey, the algebra teacher s car,
a Volkswagen, hinted to be like a carriage. There was a pumpkin that took Cinderella to the ball, right?
The orange looking tiny pumpkin looking one, that the

Comparing And Contrasting Two Sonnets
Comparing and Contrasting Two Sonnets
Sonnet 116 by William Shakespeare and What Lips My Lips Have Kissed, And Where, And Why by
Edna St. Vincent Millay are both sonnets that discuss companionship and a glimpse of each poet s
experiences. In Sonnet 116 , Shakespeare illustrates how capability is weakened by its metaphysical
stereotype and ideals such as, love, while on the contrary, in What Lips My Lips Have Kissed, And
Where, And Why Millay feeds on the chaos between the ideal of love and its harsh reality, heartbreak.
Both poets seem to be love struck but there is a significant difference in the two. I will compare and
contrast Sonnet 116 by William Shakespeare and What Lips My Lips Have Kissed, And Where, And
Why by Edna St. Vincent Millay. I will also inquire and analyze why this particular form of poetry
established different effects.
What Lips My Lips Have Kissed, and Where and Why and Sonnet 116 are, in fact, two different
sonnets. What Lips My Lips Have Kissed, and Where and Why is a Petrarchan or Italian sonnet; Due
to the fact, that this sonnet has a rhyme scheme that divides the first eight lines from the last six lines.
By dividing the poem, the rhyme scheme helps to emphasize the theme. The overall theme of the
poem is loss, which occurred in the past. Since the rhyme scheme is divided into two parts; the first
part uses the metaphor of lovers while the second part uses the metaphor of a tree. On the contrary,

Argumentative Essay On Confederate Flag
The Confederate flag has been around since 1861, as a symbol of endless war, and detestation towards
African Americans. Today, 154 years later, some states still incorporate the confederate flag into their
state flags. The Confederate flag does not show progression in history, rather it is offensive to many
groups and should be put to rest, because it does not promote unity in America. The Confederate flag
holds America back and keeps our country stuck in the past. Today the Confederate Flag is still
incorporated into five state flags. Those states are, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, and
Mississippi. The Confederate flag is still currently flying over South Carolina s capital, Columbia,
because of a state law. This law is known as The South Carolina Heritage Act of 2000. Section 1 10 30

Governor Folsom also said, This has been a divisive issue in our state, and I believe it is time we put it
behind us and move our state forward (New York Times, 7). However the Confederate Flag was
originally created in 1861 during the First Battle of Manassas. Confederate soldiers had trouble
distinguishing which troops were carrying the American flag and which were hoisting what was then
the flag of the rebellious Southern states. In order to resolve this problem the Confederate Flag was
created, to avoid this confusion. During the Civil War, the Confederate Flag stood for war, conflict,
and southern pride. Today one in ten Americans have a positive reaction when they see the

Summary Of Monster By Walter Dean Myers
What are the odds of a sixteen year old being guilty of murder that they have no proof? In Monster by
Walter Dean Myers this is the most substantial problem, Steve Harmon, who is sixteen and James
King who is at the age twenty three are both being accused of the murder of a man named Alguinaldo
Nesbitt. The reason that Steve Harmon is being accused is because many witnesses are saying they
saw Harmon as wells as King at the store that was robbed and resulted in the murder of Mr. Nesbitt.
Witnesses and prisoners are telling what their truth is, during the trial or not. Clearly, truth is what one
believes is right. To begin with, Harmon s defense attorney Kathy O Brien clearly shows that the truth
is what one believes in. This is especially

H M Fashion Strategy
This research paper will provide an analysis and evaluation of the current and perspective success for
the H M clothing company. This paper will identify how the company s marketing strategy has
allowed them to successfully progress and remain prevalent. I will also explain why it is impossible
for other clothing companies to succeed in the competitive clothing industry, and how a company s
influence on its consumers can affect the present and forthcoming currency earned.
When opening a company it is almost a guarantee that owners are concerned about long time success.
Many companies are forced out of business by their competition in various ways. Numerous
companies do not succeed because of their bad business strategies, business locations, or they were
unprepared for the challenges that came about. There are many challenges all company s face while
striving to be successful. Whether the company is trying to be the best in clothing or technology, the
product is different but the critical challenges are the same.
A company, such as H M for example, faces many challenges because selling clothes is a very
competitive field. One of the challenges H M face is the competition of other clothing stores, such as
Zara s and Forever21 these clothing stores sell very similar products at different prices. H M is known
for their originality, convenience and great prices but they are not the only company providing these
benefits. Forever21 provides their audience with

Pinkerton was concerned about Webster and sent out two detectives John Scully and Pryce Lewis to
Richmond to find him and see what had happened. Washington officials made a mistake because three
Washington ladies who were caught spying for the Confederacy were released from prison and sent to
Virginia and John Scully and Pryce Lewis were part of that interrogation. Both parties went to the
same hotel and John Scully and Pryce Lewis were arrested on charges of being an Union spy and were
sent to be executed but gave out secret information which revealed that Webster was a spy so they
were released. Timothy Webster was trusted by the Confederates so many times with valuable
documents and information and was embarrassed by Webster s betrayal. Once Pinkerton received that
Timothy Webster was to be executed, President Lincoln sent a message to the Confederacy to state
that they must release Webster or they will execute a spy from the Confederates which they use to
exchange for Union prisoners of war. Despite the threats, he was executed two

The excerpt is titled The Problem That Has No Name, details how women were expected to be a
housewife and how they were unhappy with only having that role. Friedan wrote the book after taking
surveys of college students and friends during their 15 year reunion and seeing how unhappy the
women were with where their lives had went. She began researching why they were unhappy and saw
that they wanted more in life than to be a wife, mother, and housewife. The excerpt talks about how
women during the first feminist movement started attending college and having more roles than the

Immigration For Immigrants
Moving to a new place you have never been before is hard. You don t know anybody or where
anything is, it is a whole new world. This can be experienced by every immigrant coming to America.
The United States is the number one country when it comes to immigrant population. According to
Politifact, the US Department of Homeland Security has gathered data of immigrants coming to the
U.S and in 2013 it was 990,553. These immigrants have special laws though, laws made for
immigrants alone and not everyday people. They should have the same rights as everybody else

My Position on Eternal Life, Rabbi Maimonides
Rabbi Maimonides, you take the position that it is not obvious that world is not eternal. I understand
that you did comprehensive examination of the cognitive in approval of the world s eternity. You came
to the conclusion that it could not be disapproved or proven. I have come up with my own ideas and
reasons to try to persuade that you could accept it. Even though it can t be proven that the world is
eternal, the world could be eternal because Maimonides could accept that because he has no
convincing or superseding reason to reject it. Maimonides you define God as the mere eternal thing
and beforehand conception, he had existed alone. Conception ex nihilo does not merely mean that
something came from nothing but insists that God does not demand a physical cause in creation. And
conception de novo does not mean that God exists in period and space and picks a particular moment
to onset His creation. This think constitutes a drastic separation amid the Creator and His conception
merely God is eternal and He alone is accountable for creation. If you say God is eternal than as long
as God exists than the world will exists therefore making it eternal as well. Time itself is one of these
creations or a mishap of conception it is not eternal. To say that God was existent beforehand
conception implies that He continued in time. It is tough for us to envision something that was or is
beyond of time. But as you Maimonides state, the fact that we cannot envision of something extant

Auto Insurance Myths
Ten Auto Insurance Myths Debunked
Myth 1: I ll save money by going for the cheapest quote available.
Fact: When you buy auto insurance, you re basically purchasing peace of mind and the knowledge that
an accident won t mean the end of your savings and a lifetime of debt. However to ensure that you
will be covered for any losses or damages, it s better to opt for quotes from a company that has a
reputation to maintain and the means to pay out when you make a claim. Opting for an obscure, fly by
night company just because it gave you the cheapest quote is a bad idea. If it rejects your claim, or
does not have the funds to pay out, you could potentially lose a fortune.
Myth 2: All I need is Minimum Liability.
Fact: Yes and No. Minimum liability ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So an accident doesn t necessarily result in an increase in rates.
Myth 8:Younger drivers always pay obscene interest rates.
Fact: Not necessarily. Many car insurance companies offer young drivers discounts for completing
defensive driver s credits. Others give students below the age of 25 discounts for exceptional
academic performance. Students can also get discounts by installing air bags and anti theft devices. By
availing of these discounts, a student driver can definitely enjoy affordable insurance rates.
Myth 9:Car insurance covers the costs of items stolen from my car.
Fact: Generally, personal possessions left in the car are not covered by car insurance. Some home
insurance policies cover such items, but that varies from item to item and policy to policy.
Myth 10: If I get into an accident and the other party is at fault but has no insurance, my insurance
company will pay for my damages.
Fact: Not necessarily. If you have sufficient Collision coverage or Uninsured Motorists coverage then
the damages to your car and person will be covered. But you re on your own if you don t. This is why
some states require that all drivers carry Uninsured Motorist s

George W. Bush Intervention In Iraq
Ramesh Thakur is an assistant secretary general of the UN and he was also one of the authors of the
R2P. He stated that a state which, is intervening in other state with the use of force without UN
authorization is violating international law (Thakur, 2004). US employed the notion of humanitarian
intervention in the case of Iraq to justify the actions; however, US did not have the support of
international community to intervene in Iraq. In addition, there is a notion of paternalistic belief put
forth by Partha Chatterjee wherein, powerful nations feel that it is their moral duty to protect weaker
nations (Thakur, 2004). There were several reasons for George W. Bush to intervene in Iraq that failed
the test of an R2P type intervention. Bush wanted to take revenge on Saddam s failed attempt to
assassinate him (Thakur, 2004). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The grievances emerged from 9/11 required to eradicate Saddam s regime due to the threat of Saddam
s connections with Osama bin Laden (Thakur, 2004). The geopolitical presence in the region of US,
oil, and fear of weapons of mass destructions were another reasons strongly emerging that also
contributed to militarily intervening in Iraq (Thakur, 2004). These were some of the reasons that
enabled US to consolidate their position to intervene in Iraq. However, it is argued these are the true

Reflection Of Japanese Immersion
Individual Reflection Japan Immersion
Benjamin Franklin said once, An investment in knowledge pays the best interest. This summer I had
the opportunity to invest in my professional knowledge as an international business woman, and I
agree that such investment will pay the best interest. I participated in the Japan immersion program
from the College of Business which allowed me to grow as a professional by expanding my
perspective on the difficult process of starting a business in a foreign country in which you are not
familiar with. Additionally, I developed a greater ability to adapt to a different culture beyond my
already current adaptability as an international student. And Finally, I understood the process of
preparation for doing international business to be well informed of their culture and how to
incorporate it as a competitive advantage when trying to do business with them.
First, the immersion program contributed to my professional development by allowing me to be
confident in the future to be chosen as the lead or a member team to start a business in a foreign
country. During the immersion, I was introduced to the ideologies and strategies foreign companies
develop to bring their product to the United States, and the Resources that are available for those
companies, as well as foreign companies wanting to start a business in Japan. For example for United
States companies wanting to start to do business within the Japanese market they have resources such
as Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), an independent government agency designed to help
navigate international companies with the regulations and tax laws of countries around the world
needed to succeed on an international business. In addition there is also the opportunity of partnering
with Japanese companies to learn about the specific market from the insiders. In addition, some
research parks corporations, like the Kyoto Research Park, to which I was able to visit during the
Immersion, provide companies with Office spaces, safety, amenities, and support for startup business
that can be beneficial for foreign companies. Starting a business can be difficult, but starting a
business in other country it s even harder. Thus, having

Importance Of Friendship In Siddhartha
What makes someone a good friend? Do friends have to be together all the time to qualify as a good
friend? In the book Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse, the answer to these questions can be found.
Siddhartha, an unhappy Brahmin, leaves his parents and village with his friend Govinda to find
enlightenment. Govinda and Siddhartha separate, but later in the novel when they see each other
again, Govinda is still there for Siddhartha. Later in life, a ferryman named Vasudeva helps Siddhartha
find enlightenment. Hermann Hesse suggests that for a true friendship to work people do not have to
be together all the time or lifelong friends, as Hesse shows through Govinda and Siddhartha, as well as
Siddhartha and his relationship with Vasudeva.
Even though Govinda decides to take a different path, he still plays an important role in Siddhartha s
journey in finding enlightenment. Hermann Hesse writes, You re Siddhartha, Govinda exclaimed
loudly. Now, I m recognizing you, and don t comprehend anymore how I couldn t recognize you right
away. Be welcome, Siddhartha, my joy is great, to see you again. After many years apart, Govinda and
Siddhartha meet again at the river. It is surprising that the men did not recognize each other even
though they had grown up together. Govinda did not know it was Siddhartha, but he still feels a sense
of familiarity and protection over the man. Siddhartha is the first to recognize his dear friend, and it
takes Govinda a while to realize it is Siddhartha who was sleeping by the river. They are happy to see
each other, and even though the meeting is short lived, the men talk about their current situations.
Many years later, Siddhartha and Govinda meet again. Hermann Hesse also writes, Govinda stayed
the night in the hut and slept in the bed that had once been Vasudeva s. He asked the friend of his
youth many questions and Siddhartha had a great deal to tell him about his life. When Govinda and
Siddhartha separate once again, there is an extended time where they have no contact. The men still
feel comfortable with each other and Siddhartha invites Govinda into his home. Siddhartha had no
problem reconnecting with Govinda. It seems as though they had always been friends and they act like

Social Issues In Kendrick Lamar s Alright
Through songs many people express their feelings of the world threw the words they have wrote.
Many songs talk about civil rights of the people and how change should be an option. In the world we
live in today we have social issues that people have to face such as: police brutality, racial profiling,
discrimination etc. Through Kendrick Lamar, Public Enemy, The Game, Bebe Winans, and N.W.A
they will use their voice as a weapon for change among all people. Music with a message thrives in a
live setting, for obvious reasons, and many politically conscious musicians aim to channel the
heightened emotions
Kendrick Lamar s song Alright talks about race and how African Americans are being targeted and
profiled. The song tells about the gun violence and police brutality that is effecting our community,
And we hate Popo, wanna kill us dead in the street for sure, n... (Line 35). This quote out of his song
is significant because in the world we live in someone gets killed every day for the color of their skin
color or a profile that someone made off assumptions. As the song goes he tell about how African
Americans were discriminated. When you know, we been hurt, been down before, n... / When our
pride was low, lookin at the world like, where do we go, n...? (Line 33 34). Throughout the years
African Americans are looked down on to the point where they do not know what their purpose is. For
some, living in a world where people do not want them there hurts the pride of people.

Abc7 Case Studies
both socially and mentally has been shown to help in the prevention/delay of the disease. Researchers
from the University of Wollongong in Australia have found a link between the ATP binding transporter
A7 (ABCA7) and the regulation in the risk of Alzheimer s disease. ABCA7 helps to clear out Aβ
(amyloid beta) from the brain. Aβs can group together and block cell to cell signaling at synapses. The
evidence in human and mouse trials have shown that ABAC7 has a role in the regulation of Alzheimer
s treatment and risk. ABCA7 has been found to be in high amounts amongst microglia in the brain and
directly regulates phagocytosis. Further testing was done to determine what the exact link is between
this transporter and Alzheimer s disease. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The problem with this test in particular is the fact it has to be done on humans. This limits the amount
of trials that can be run due to cost, availability of patients, and the fact it is a human life and not a
mouse s. The need for a specific type of individual as a volunteer also contributes to the fewer number
of trials that can be run. I like the fact that the drug was put against a placebo. Studies have shown that
placebos work as good as the actual when a short period of time is examined. The placebo also makes
for a good test group/control group. The results were not released at the time of the article. I d like to
see the results with hope people will have another option for slowing or preventing the spread of this
disease. In the future I d like to see faster, easier, and cheaper tests developed. The peanut butter test
was a good idea. Medical care is so expensive it would be beneficial if a way to diagnose and treat the
diagnoses were cheaper and faster. Additional reaserch of what actually can be done to prevent and
stop the progression of this disease needs to be accomplished. Disorders like this, which affect
memory, are really hard on the patient and their families. I d like to see more done on their behalf. It is
encouraging to see that researchers are getting a better understanding on what may cause Alzheimer s.
The fact that there are numerous causalities prolong the research needed to narrow the results down
and discover what is the best way to prevent/treat this disease. I am bolstered by the fact that so much
research and trials are being done to help prevent this. Other nervous disorders are equally bad in their
own ways, however ones that affect people mentally are the worst. Nothing can be worse than being
trapped in your own head and having no way out. Forgetting who you are and who your loved ones
are is a fate that

Tang Statue Essay
With no name and created by an unknown artist, this stone statue was created in the 7th 8th century
(during the Chinese Tang dynasty) and is a point of intrigue. Although not much is known about the
sculpture, it feels as if the statue looks through the sense of self and has a divine sense. Like all
ancient statues, much of the colour has faded away. Colour itself is an important aspect in the
representation of the figure, due to the symbology associated with each colour. Even though the statue
has been given a physical shape, it does not exist in the sense that it is made up of many different
animal parts. When gazed upon, this sculpture leaves an impression of the divine. Compared to other
statues, ie. the lamassu or buddhas, they either stand by themselves or sit upon a smooth stone slab.
This statue s stand however, is quite peculiar. Upon first glance, the stand might not have much
significant importance compared to the statue itself, but it attracts attention due to its irregular shape.
Its shape is essentially an outline of the statues shadow in prism form, with varying degrees of width.
There are three different levels of width; the top is the widest, the middle is the thinest and the bottom
is in between. Instead of having a simple stand with consitent width, the artist chose to make
something much more complex and difficult to sculpt. Around the plinth are a set of four holes; two
under the hind legs of the statue, one in the front end and one under the right

Today, HRM is a strategic partner within the organization. It is a process in which HRM works with
the organization to assess their goals and objectives, hire, and retain the best employees to attain those
outlined goals and objectives. HR managers overcome challenges by sustaining a well balanced
workload between management and employees within the organization and overcoming difficult
situations pertaining to the workforce as they arise. This change has allowed HRM to enhance its
relationship from merely just a staffing entity to an integral partner within the organization ensuring
its success.
Technology has revolutionized and transformed the world or HRM. By utilizing human resource
information systems (HRIS) HR processes occur electronically allowing for data entry, tracking and
payroll, and management functions to be completed by utilizing software or on online system (Duran,
2010). It permits for the departments within HR to merge into one main system allowing the
organization to save money as well as time in comparison to previously used systems. Utilizing HRIS
provides organizations to maintain a competitive edge while providing an efficient means for
managing its most important asset, its people. A robust system provide the
capability to more effectively plan, control and manage HR costs; achieve improved efficiency and

Chickenpox and its Epidemiology
Chickenpox is a viral infection caused by the Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV) transmitted via the
respiratory route that causes itchy, blisters like rashes usually lasting about 5 10 days. It is highly
contagious transmitted by person to person contact (direct) from respiratory secretions or indirectly
through contact with airborne respiratory droplets, via soiled inanimate objects infected by discharge
from skin lesions, vesicle discharges or nasopharyngeal secretions. The incubation period lasts about

This contributes to the development of chicken pox in individuals who don t have health insurance or
is an illegal immigrant, they will be less likely to participate in primary prevention and more likely to
delay obtaining medical treatment. Some barriers to health services that contributes to the
development of the disease includes high cost, lack of availability or in the case of vaccine shortage
mostly seen in developing countries and limited language access. These barriers can cause unmet
health needs and inability to receive preventative services. Individual behavior as a determinant of
health plays a major role in health outcomes. Individual behavior consists of diet, physical activity,
hand washing and compliance with vaccine preventable diseases. This factor contributes to the
development of chickenpox when individuals refused be vaccinated and do not have natural immunity
against the disease. Therefore in an epidemic of chickenpox these individuals have a higher risk of
contracting the disease. Biological and genetic factors affects specific populations more than others.
An example of a genetic determinant of health is Sickle Cell Disease which is a condition
characterized by the offspring inheriting the disease because both parents carry the sickle cell gene. In
the case of chickenpox there is no biological or genetic factors that contributes to a person developing
the disease as

Removing Class Rank
Removing Class Rank Through your high school years you are judged on every test, every homework
assignment and every group discussion. After the hard working student who received their senior year
their GPA and find that because of their ranking they can not go to the school of their dreams because
they failed to achieve the top ten percent of their class, that makes their work in school worth
anything. However ranking is rather antiquated, it is just a number. Class rank doesn t always take into
consideration the type of class, the type of effort that the student put into their class work and the extra
intangibles that help make up that student. Some intangibles that are not shown up on the sheet that is
submitted to college is the type of person behind a name and a number. An example of this is the rigor

Essay about Abortion Should Be Banned!
Abortion is a legal medical method to stop the premature delivery that is adopted in most countries of
the world. It was legalized many years ago but nowadays we live in the civilized society where the
human life is the most precious treasure and the question about the appropriateness of abortions is of
current importance. Nowadays there are two opposing camps who present their arguments. People
who support abortion insist that prohibition of it will deprive people of their rights to have free choice.
On the contrary, people who stand for banning abortion claim that abortion deprive a human being
from the right to live. Every person must decide for himself what is more important: deprivation of
choice or deprivation of life. Another point ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These arguments are doubtful because women in the contemporary society have different
opportunities to plan the birth of the child. Contemporary methods of contraception give women good
chances to plan their future pregnancy and to avoid undesirable pregnancy. Some specialists believe
that abortion contradicts to the American Constitution, which guarantees the right for life to all
citizens of the country. According to the latest research life of the child starts after fertilization and this
way abortion becomes a murder of the human creature. There are debates about the time which should
be considered the start of the human life. Till recent time the most common opinion was that the birth
of the child is a start of human life. At the present moment more and more people turn to the opinion
that human life starts earlier than the child is born. Specialists believe that the process of fertilization
give a beginning to new life. This way during the abortion human creatures are killed and this can be
regarded as a crime. Religious arguments constitute another group of reasons against abortion. All
Western culture is mainly based on Christian religion, which believes abortions to be morally wrong.
Christian faith insists on the human nature of the unborn child and regards abortion as a murder.
Actually the Bible does not say anything about abortion. This argument is often used by the
proponents of abortion. In reality during the time when the Bible was written abortion

Theory of Social Marketing
Theories and Models in Social Marketing

Society, Newbury Park, CA: Sage Publications.
Theories and models for social marketing abound, with little formal consensus on which types of
models for what types of social problems in what kinds of situations are most appropriate. In defining
what social marketing is, many authors include the notion of exchange theory to link it to its
marketing roots (e.g., Kotler Roberto, 1989; Lefebvre Flora, 1988; Novelli, 1990). Other writers on
the subject omit any mention of exchange theory, either in their definition of social marketing or its
key elements (e.g., Andreasen, 1995; Manoff, 1985). Elliott (1991), ... Show more content on

The core components of HBM include:
♦ Perceived susceptibility: the subjective perception of risk of developing a particular health
condition.
♦ Perceived severity: feelings about the seriousness of the consequences of developing a specific
health problem.
♦ Perceived benefits: beliefs about the effectiveness of various actions that might reduce susceptibility
and severity (the latter two taken together are labeled threat ).
♦ Perceived barriers: potential negative aspects of taking specific actions.
♦ Cues to action: bodily or environmental events that trigger action.
More recently, HBM has been appended to include the notion of self efficacy as another predictor of
health behaviors especially more complex ones in which lifestyle changes must be maintained over
time (Strecher Rosenstock, 1997). A wide variety of demographic, social, psychological and structural
variables may also impact an individual s perceptions and, indirectly, their health related behaviors.
Some of the more important ones include educational attainment, age, gender, socioeconomic status

Student Lo 7 Students Loan
7 student loan myths debunked
When it comes to student loans, there is a lot of information to take in especially for a new college
student who is exploring their financing options for the first time, or a new graduate who has just
started paying off their student loan debt. With all of the different information out there, it can be easy
to get confused, and perhaps even misunderstand certain things about student loans. The following are
some common student loan myths, debunked:
Myth #1: I m not worried about my student loan debt, because I can just have some or all of my debt
forgiven
Fact: It s not easy to qualify for student loan forgiveness. The criteria can be rather strict, and you
usually have to be working in a specific industry ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You can usually get your payments adjusted and lowered based on your income, so if you haven t
exactly reached the salary you were hoping for post graduation, don t fret. You may also be able to
temporarily defer payments as well. However, you ll want to consider the disadvantage of not opting
for a standard repayment schedule. You are essentially lengthening your loan by delaying the
inevitable, which means you ll pay more interest in the end.
Myth #3: I can discharge my student loan debt through bankruptcy if I ever really need to
Fact: Not all debts can be discharged through bankruptcy, and typically, student loan debt falls into
that category. That doesn t mean it s impossible, but isn t as easy as discharging other types of debt,
and you may not be eligible. As such, it s important to not just assume that bankruptcy can be an
automatic solution for any student loan debt troubles.
Myth #4: I probably don t qualify for financial aid, so I should just take out student loans
Fact: Not necessarily. Many students qualify for some level of funding, and unlike student loans,
financial aid usually doesn t need to be paid back (there are some exceptions to this for example, if
you fail a class). It doesn t cost anything to just apply and see what you re eligible for. Even if you don
t receive enough financial aid to avoid student loans completely, every little bit helps, and that s less
you ll need to borrow.
Myth #5: I ll be required to borrow far more

Common American Western Film
There was once a film genre that dominated the silver screens for over 30 years. That genre is the
western, a genre that saw its golden age from the 1930 s to the 1960 s with classics like Sergio Leone
s Dollars trilogy (1964 1966), Once Upon a Time in the West (1968), and John Ford s The Searchers
(1956), though with such films like James Mangold s 3:10 to Yuma (2007) and David Mackenzie s
Hell or High, westerns in the modern stay still have an audience. Films in this genre usually take place
during the last part of the 19th century not too long after the Civil War, but there are exceptions to this
as some films have taken place during the Civil War itself, the Battle of the Alamo (1836) or the
Mexican Revolution (1910) (Filmsites.org). Common ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Usually, the central plot of the western film is the classic, simple goal of maintaining law and order on
the frontier in a fast paced action story. It is normally rooted in archetypal conflict good vs. bad, virtue

depicted as savages), settlers vs. Indians, lawman or sheriff vs. gunslinger, the rugged individualist vs.
the community, the cultivated East vs. West to name a few. Often the hero of a western meets his
opposite double, a mirror of his own evil side that he must destroy. Typical elements in westerns
include hostile elements (often Native Americans), guns and gun fights (sometimes on horseback),
violence and human massacres, horses, trains (and train robberies), bank robberies and holdups,
runaway stagecoaches, shoot outs and showdowns, outlaws and sheriffs, cattle drives and cattle

My Role As A Nurse Educator
For this assignment you are asked to write a 3 page paper that discusses how up to this point, you have
embraced your role as a nurse educator (let s face it, all nurses are teachers!). What do you love about
teaching or being a teacher? What has been problematic for you? How do you see a doctorate degree
in nursing, with a focus on education and leadership, helping you further expand your ability to be an
effective educator? In other words, what has brought you to this point, where you want/need more
education?
Introduction
The nursing workforce and nursing education demographic trends reinforce the urgency to promote
future nursing leaders, educators, and mentors. Peer mentoring has been used successfully in nursing
education to enhance student engagement and the quality of the student learning experience. Although
various terms like peer mentor have been used to describe the role of senior students facilitating junior
student learning, the literature is silent about how peer mentoring fosters the development of future
nursing education leaders (Rosenau, P. A., Lisella, R. F., Clancy, T. L., Nowell, L. S. (2015). Growth
in the demand for nurses is fueling current and projected nursing shortages, as patient populations
grow older, sicker and more complex at the same time that the age of currently employed nurses
continues to increase.

Brown Vs. Entertainment Merchants Association
Brown V. Entertainment Merchants Association In the case of Brown V. Entertainment merchants
Associations, the issue raised is that of violent video games being purchased by underage consumers
(Oyez). The legal question at issue is Whether or not the First Amendment prevents a state from
restricting the sale of violent video games to minors. In today s time with the new head turning
technology in video games most of the games have some sort of violence present in them. Many
games past and present incorporate some kind of violence such as, killing with weapons, using
explosives, and crashing cars. With all of the present day technology all activities portrayed during in
game scenarios are becoming more and more realistic. In 2005 the state of California enacted a law to
ban the sale of certain violent games to children without the consent of their parents. The law was
created based upon the idea that with the realistic in game events real behavior could be drastically
effected by the violence. The worries are that tragic events such as massacres could occur based on
ideas seen in games. Incidents such as high school shooting have heightened concerns of potential
connections between violent games and violent actions. The Entertainment Software Association have
fought to overturn the Brown case and similar laws involving the ban of violent video games (Video
Software Dealers Ass n, et al. v. Schwarzenegger). The ESA won all of these previous cases based on
the fact of the

California Craftsman Bungalow
The architecture of a time period may reflect more than just our personal style. The California
craftsman bungalow style house was named this because of its introduction to the United States in
California and abundance in California in the 1900s to the 1930s. Craftsman refers to the style of
house; whereas, bungalow references the features of the house and overall use of the house. The
bungalow originated in India where it was as an alternative to tent living among English colonial
traders and officers. The houses were built from materials that were easily accessible on the site of
construction. California Bungalows are characterized by their built in cabinetry, large fireplaces,
dormers, deep eaves, covered front porches with, double hung ... Show more content on

For example, the San Francisco Call wrote an article in about a widow named Bertha Bossel who built
a bungalow house in Berkley with the help of her son. She had been left a widow a few years prior to
her construction of the bungalow, and the only thing she had to support her and her son was the
cottage that she and her husband had built before his death. She picked up many skills during the
construction of the first cottage, and planned to build the bungalow without outside aid. The author
wrote about how Bertha built the house heedless of what the neighbors may say. This indicates that
Bertha did not pay attention to what her neighbors or the public thought of her actions, implying that
she did not care what they said about her actions because she continued to construct the house. The
description of her independent attitude is progressive for that time period, empowering women
because Bertha took on a traditionally masculine roles and completed them as if it was in her nature.
However the language the author used to describe her and her actions in the article were patronizing.
The author first introduced Bertha by stating, with her soft white hands Bertha Bossel, a brave little
woman of Berkeley, has begun the erection of a bungalow on a lot she owns. The act of calling her
brave, suggests that being strong was out of her character because it was not in her prescribed gender
role. Additionally, describing her with soft white hands makes her appear delicate to the reader. The
adjectives the used to describe Bertha fit into traditional gender roles as an act to balance out the
traditionally masculine tasks Bertha fulfilled. For example, the author wrote with a canvas apron to
protect her from the rough timbers, and she smiles and tolls as she does it in order to describe her

Dyer County And The Towns
Dyer County and the towns that comprise it all have a rich history, and each town in the county has its
own beginnings that have resulted in how they are today. Dyer County currently encompasses the
three major towns of Dyersburg, Newbern, Trimble, and their surrounding villages. The following will
give brief histories of the major towns of Dyer County, the development of industry, and the history of
some of the smaller regions of the county, including my home area of Bonicord. Dyer County today is
a mixture of rural countryside, and small sections of factories surrounding the major towns with
Dyersburg as the largest city in the county. The county is also one of the only two counties in
Tennessee that link west Tennessee to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rutherford, a relative of one of the founders of Key Corner. However, like most southern counties,
Dyer County s main means of production was farming, and the timber industry. The county s main
crops were corn and tobacco, but later king cotton took over as the main crop. By the early 1920s,
Dyer County s timber resources were depleted. That left the Dyersburg Cotton Products, Incorporated
as the largest industry by 1929. Today, in Dyer County, there are many factories and more urban
infrastructure, but outside the major towns it is still rural farmland with small communities, such as
Finley and RoEllen. Dyer County was also involved in the Mexican American War and the Civil War.
During the Mexican American War, a volunteer company was organized in Dyer County and it was the
only county in west Tennessee to have any volunteers, so it was represented as the county instead of
the state. During the Civil War, Dyer County, had many regiments formed in the county, but it never
had any prolonged Confederate or Union camps. Dyer County also had a Confederate brigadier
general named, Otho F. Strahl, who was killed in the Battle of Franklin. After the Civil War, Dyer
County was one of the counties on west Tennessee marked as a hotspot for KKK activity. Dyersburg is
the largest town in Dyer County, and where most of the industry and development has taken place
since the county s creation. Dyersburg was first mentioned as a town

Internet and Personal Privacy Essay
Internet and Personal Privacy
In the world of today most records can be easily accessed by a home computer. Even Governmental
records can be viewed. Some believe this has benefits, while others are screaming about invasion of
privacy. Heated debates can go on for many hours about this topic. Each side has people who devote
all their time and energy to see their side of the argument prevail.
The Freedom of Information Act which was established in 1966 states that all people shall have access
to federal records. This allows the public to be kept abreast of the workings in the government. Any
person may request a document, which the government must present, however, the government can
not synthesize a document. It is even possible to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. This would not have been possible with the Freedom of
Information Act.
There are nine exemptions to the Freedom of Information Act, national security, internal agency rules,
information exempted by another federal statute, trade secrets, internal agency memoranda, personal
privacy, investigatory records, and other exemptions.
Does the public s right to know out weigh one s personal privacy? The personal computer does make
privacy difficult. Databases have been created simply to hold ones personal information, and many
times these databases can be accessed by any computer geek. One such database is the National Crime
Information Center (NCIC), created by Herbert Hoover. This database holds information on every
American person ever arrested in the United States.
How could this information not be beneficial? Many times the information is neither accurate nor
complete. What could happen if the wrong hands accessed these files, such as a possible employer?
The computer has made this threat a reality. Ever wonder where junk mail comes from? Currently,
there is a database of the names, addresses, and marketing information on 120 million residents of the
United States . This information may not seem very personal. But many times this simple information
can lead to more personal information.
Privacy could still be invaded without the use of a computer; however, the computer has made it easier
and faster. The

Electricity. New York: Franklin Watts, 1986, 96 pages.
The link between Magnetism and electricity became evident in 1820. This relationship is important
because electricity develops by the spinning of magnets around a coil of copper wire. In order to
produce electricity a fuel source must spine the magnets. Electricity can be used from anything from
communication sistemes to the everyday lightbulb.

  • 2. Steel During The Second Industrial Revolution The second Industrial Revolution was an era that created many inventions off of the first Industrial Revolution, which included refining techniques to chemicals, electricity, transportation, and production engineering to name a few. One of the most highly technological innovations of the second Industrial Revolution, however, was the innovation of steel. Steel was used before the second Industrial Revolution, but was mainly used to make swords and weapons by blacksmiths. Before the second Industrial Revolution Henry Bessemer writes in his autobiography, At that date there was no steel suitable for structural purposes . At the time, anything structural, including railways, buildings, ships, and bridges were made out of wood and iron because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even with the pollution becoming a major problem during the second Industrial Revolution because of all the manufacturing plants coming into the city, this era laid the foundation for some of the famous and most popular inventions of today s time. But still during the era of innovations, many inventions would not have been made possible without the innovation of steel and the Bessemer process. • 3. Essay On The Making Of Malcolm Turn Bull We ve all heard the tired argument regurgitated by the ostentatious social commentator or the disillusioned anarchist uncle; politicians are selfish individuals who brilliantly spin webs of deceit only to create power for themselves and serve their own egos. And so it would seem, that Malcolm Turnbull an undeniably professional politician who rose to prime ministership undemocratically perhaps embodies these aforementioned qualities more than most. This apparently, isn t the case, at least according to his wife, daughter and two mates (and a less friendly journo, Malcolm Farr) when interviewed on Australian Story; Auntie s foremost programme where the most hard done by emoters like to, well, emote. Aired on the 21st of September last year, the half an hour documentary entitled The Making of Malcolm comprises of interviews telling the story of our prime minister s childhood and life before politics filmed in 09. This is merged with more recent interviews, exploring Turnbull s political career. There s an extreme emphasis on personal recollection and anecdotes of past events. This makes for a very personal production; one where truth takes a back seat behind the spectacular and the endearing. It also has the convenient side effect of being less disturbed by those pesky things the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 4. New South Wales Public Education System In 1866 New South Wales enacted the Public Schools Act that aimed to address government spending on education, resulting in government schools receiving priority over denominational schools, and providing access to education for the growing number of communities across the colony . The Catholics opposed this move as it was hostile to the their belief in their own system of education and Catholic puritans helped fuel the fire of sectarianism, which continued to make state aid for church run schools a highly controversial issue . However, times were changing as by the 1870s, in New South Wales, up to sixty per cent of Catholic school children attended state schools . Conflict escalated again in 1879 when the new Catholic Archbishop, Vaughan, denounced the state schools of New South Wales describing them as seed plots of future immorality, infidelity and lawlessness and accused them of squeezing very gradually and almost imperceptibly the Catholic faith out of Catholic people. In response the Parkes government enacted the Public Instruction Act of 1880, which resulted in primary education becoming nominally compulsory, cheap, widespread, and removed all state aid to denominational schools . Again the Catholics responded negatively to the decision, which aided in preserving the Catholic identity, although this came at the cost of making themselves a distinctive sub culture in the Australian community . Despite this, Henry Parkes, premier of New South Wales, gave a speech in 1885, and instead of condemning the Catholics for being different, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 5. Cost Estimation And Cost Analysis Cost estimation challenges can be well addressed through adopting the following set of strategic approach. The key steps undertaken during the given process drives right cost estimation and those actions are as follows:  Documenting assumptions and best estimations: the assumptions can be documented in advance and ensuring that best estimations is done using the right technique. There are various methods of effort estimation and cost analysis however the right one should be selected on basis project complexity and requirement. The documentation of assumptions can also help define clear scope for the project that need to be achieved.  Activity quantification: all process steps and their related activities need to be quantified in advance. • 6. Social Theory And Social Judgement Theory Abstract The topic to be discussed here is one of the social sciences based on the theories Groupthink and Social Judgement Theory. I will propose a study to analyze the relationship between the number of hours of media an individual receives and its effects on his or her voting behavior. The participants of this proposed study will be registered voters between the ages of eighteen and seventy and residents of the United States of America. The primary method of collecting data will be through surveys. Once the data has been, collected a multiple regression will be constructed. Please note, the terms person, individual, subject, and voter are used interchangeably throughout the document. Introduction This document discusses a proposed study that analyzes a person s media exposure and how that effects his or her voting behaviors. Throughout this document I will discuss the theories associated with the proposed study as well as how this study could impact the theories and everyday life that the theories are based upon. Associated Theories The proposed study is based upon two theories: Groupthink and Social Judgement Theory. Groupthink can be described as a phenomena that causes a group of people to become so extremely concerned with unanimity that each person makes decisions without considering all of his or her options. This type of phenomena tends to hold a negative connotation because the thought process associated with the theory causes people to fall to peer ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Analysis Of Valentine By Joyce Carol Oates Joyce Carol Oates is one of the better writers of this decade; she has created masterpieces with her stories as well as her work overall throughout the years. In one of her short stories, Valentine, she creates a series of subtle hints to fairytales. Oates is known for alluding to different and all kinds of hints in her stories, but her subliminal references to fairytales have been one I have seen the most. Throughout the short story Valentine, Oates makes many nonchalant allusions to fairytales. Oates knows how to slip them right by you, if you didn t know any better, you wouldn t even notice where they are instilled inside the stories themselves. In Valentine, the main character is a young fifteen year old whose family life isn t the best it could be. That s where the fairy tale starts with this story, Oates creates a line that says, Upstairs was a partly finished attic narrow as a tunnel with a habitable space at one end my room (1). Immediately, the audience gets that Cinderella vibe from Oates as she describes the type of room the narrator lives in. Her aunt and uncle are also not too fond of her as well and Cinderella had an evil step mother as well as step sisters. They may not be step siblings or step parents, but they are just the same in the eyes of Oates. You also have Lacey, the algebra teacher s car, a Volkswagen, hinted to be like a carriage. • 8. Comparing And Contrasting Two Sonnets Comparing and Contrasting Two Sonnets Sonnet 116 by William Shakespeare and What Lips My Lips Have Kissed, And Where, And Why by Edna St. Vincent Millay are both sonnets that discuss companionship and a glimpse of each poet s experiences. In Sonnet 116 , Shakespeare illustrates how capability is weakened by its metaphysical stereotype and ideals such as, love, while on the contrary, in What Lips My Lips Have Kissed, And Where, And Why Millay feeds on the chaos between the ideal of love and its harsh reality, heartbreak. Both poets seem to be love struck but there is a significant difference in the two. I will compare and contrast Sonnet 116 by William Shakespeare and What Lips My Lips Have Kissed, And Where, And Why by Edna St. Vincent Millay. I will also inquire and analyze why this particular form of poetry established different effects. What Lips My Lips Have Kissed, and Where and Why and Sonnet 116 are, in fact, two different sonnets. What Lips My Lips Have Kissed, and Where and Why is a Petrarchan or Italian sonnet; Due to the fact, that this sonnet has a rhyme scheme that divides the first eight lines from the last six lines. By dividing the poem, the rhyme scheme helps to emphasize the theme. The overall theme of the poem is loss, which occurred in the past. Since the rhyme scheme is divided into two parts; the first part uses the metaphor of lovers while the second part uses the metaphor of a tree. On the contrary, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Argumentative Essay On Confederate Flag The Confederate flag has been around since 1861, as a symbol of endless war, and detestation towards African Americans. Today, 154 years later, some states still incorporate the confederate flag into their state flags. The Confederate flag does not show progression in history, rather it is offensive to many groups and should be put to rest, because it does not promote unity in America. The Confederate flag holds America back and keeps our country stuck in the past. Today the Confederate Flag is still incorporated into five state flags. Those states are, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, and Mississippi. The Confederate flag is still currently flying over South Carolina s capital, Columbia, because of a state law. This law is known as The South Carolina Heritage Act of 2000. Section 1 10 30 of The South Carolina Heritage Act of 2000 states, The Infantry Battle Flag of the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia (Confederate Battle Flag) displayed on the Confederate Soldiers Monument on the State House grounds, and any monument, marker, memorial, school, or street erected ... In Monster by Walter Dean Myers this is the most substantial problem, Steve Harmon, who is sixteen and James King who is at the age twenty three are both being accused of the murder of a man named Alguinaldo Nesbitt. The reason that Steve Harmon is being accused is because many witnesses are saying they saw Harmon as wells as King at the store that was robbed and resulted in the murder of Mr. Nesbitt. I understand that you did comprehensive examination of the cognitive in approval of the world s eternity. You came to the conclusion that it could not be disapproved or proven. I have come up with my own ideas and reasons to try to persuade that you could accept it. Even though it can t be proven that the world is eternal, the world could be eternal because Maimonides could accept that because he has no convincing or superseding reason to reject it. Maimonides you define God as the mere eternal thing and beforehand conception, he had existed alone. Conception ex nihilo does not merely mean that something came from nothing but insists that God does not demand a physical cause in creation. And conception de novo does not mean that God exists in period and space and picks a particular moment to onset His creation. This think constitutes a drastic separation amid the Creator and His conception merely God is eternal and He alone is accountable for creation. If you say God is eternal than as long as God exists than the world will exists therefore making it eternal as well. Time itself is one of these creations or a mishap of conception it is not eternal. However to ensure that you will be covered for any losses or damages, it s better to opt for quotes from a company that has a reputation to maintain and the means to pay out when you make a claim. Opting for an obscure, fly by night company just because it gave you the cheapest quote is a bad idea. US employed the notion of humanitarian intervention in the case of Iraq to justify the actions; however, US did not have the support of international community to intervene in Iraq. In addition, there is a notion of paternalistic belief put forth by Partha Chatterjee wherein, powerful nations feel that it is their moral duty to protect weaker nations (Thakur, 2004). This summer I had the opportunity to invest in my professional knowledge as an international business woman, and I agree that such investment will pay the best interest. I participated in the Japan immersion program from the College of Business which allowed me to grow as a professional by expanding my perspective on the difficult process of starting a business in a foreign country in which you are not familiar with. Additionally, I developed a greater ability to adapt to a different culture beyond my already current adaptability as an international student. And Finally, I understood the process of preparation for doing international business to be well informed of their culture and how to incorporate it as a competitive advantage when trying to do business with them. First, the immersion program contributed to my professional development by allowing me to be confident in the future to be chosen as the lead or a member team to start a business in a foreign country. During the immersion, I was introduced to the ideologies and strategies foreign companies develop to bring their product to the United States, and the Resources that are available for those companies, as well as foreign companies wanting to start a business in Japan. For example for United States companies wanting to start to do business within the Japanese market they have resources such as Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), an independent government agency designed to help navigate international companies with the regulations and tax laws of countries around the world needed to succeed on an international business. In addition there is also the opportunity of partnering with Japanese companies to learn about the specific market from the insiders. In addition, some research parks corporations, like the Kyoto Research Park, to which I was able to visit during the Immersion, provide companies with Office spaces, safety, amenities, and support for startup business that can be beneficial for foreign companies. • 25. Importance Of Friendship In Siddhartha What makes someone a good friend? Do friends have to be together all the time to qualify as a good friend? In the book Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse, the answer to these questions can be found. Siddhartha, an unhappy Brahmin, leaves his parents and village with his friend Govinda to find enlightenment. Govinda and Siddhartha separate, but later in the novel when they see each other again, Govinda is still there for Siddhartha. Later in life, a ferryman named Vasudeva helps Siddhartha find enlightenment. Hermann Hesse suggests that for a true friendship to work people do not have to be together all the time or lifelong friends, as Hesse shows through Govinda and Siddhartha, as well as Siddhartha and his relationship with Vasudeva. Even though Govinda decides to take a different path, he still plays an important role in Siddhartha s journey in finding enlightenment. Hermann Hesse writes, You re Siddhartha, Govinda exclaimed loudly. Now, I m recognizing you, and don t comprehend anymore how I couldn t recognize you right away. Be welcome, Siddhartha, my joy is great, to see you again. After many years apart, Govinda and Siddhartha meet again at the river. It is surprising that the men did not recognize each other even though they had grown up together. Govinda did not know it was Siddhartha, but he still feels a sense of familiarity and protection over the man. Siddhartha is the first to recognize his dear friend, and it takes Govinda a while to realize it is Siddhartha who was sleeping by the river. They are happy to see each other, and even though the meeting is short lived, the men talk about their current situations. Many years later, Siddhartha and Govinda meet again. Hermann Hesse also writes, Govinda stayed the night in the hut and slept in the bed that had once been Vasudeva s. He asked the friend of his youth many questions and Siddhartha had a great deal to tell him about his life. When Govinda and Siddhartha separate once again, there is an extended time where they have no contact. The men still feel comfortable with each other and Siddhartha invites Govinda into his home. Although not much is known about the sculpture, it feels as if the statue looks through the sense of self and has a divine sense. Like all ancient statues, much of the colour has faded away. Colour itself is an important aspect in the representation of the figure, due to the symbology associated with each colour. Even though the statue has been given a physical shape, it does not exist in the sense that it is made up of many different animal parts. When gazed upon, this sculpture leaves an impression of the divine. Compared to other statues, ie. the lamassu or buddhas, they either stand by themselves or sit upon a smooth stone slab. This statue s stand however, is quite peculiar. Upon first glance, the stand might not have much significant importance compared to the statue itself, but it attracts attention due to its irregular shape. Its shape is essentially an outline of the statues shadow in prism form, with varying degrees of width. There are three different levels of width; the top is the widest, the middle is the thinest and the bottom is in between. Instead of having a simple stand with consitent width, the artist chose to make something much more complex and difficult to sculpt. Around the plinth are a set of four holes; two under the hind legs of the statue, one in the front end and one under the right ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My Role As A Nurse Educator For this assignment you are asked to write a 3 page paper that discusses how up to this point, you have embraced your role as a nurse educator (let s face it, all nurses are teachers!). What do you love about teaching or being a teacher? What has been problematic for you? How do you see a doctorate degree in nursing, with a focus on education and leadership, helping you further expand your ability to be an effective educator? In other words, what has brought you to this point, where you want/need more education? Introduction The nursing workforce and nursing education demographic trends reinforce the urgency to promote future nursing leaders, educators, and mentors. Peer mentoring has been used successfully in nursing education to enhance student engagement and the quality of the student learning experience. Although various terms like peer mentor have been used to describe the role of senior students facilitating junior student learning, the literature is silent about how peer mentoring fosters the development of future nursing education leaders (Rosenau, P. A., Lisella, R. F., Clancy, T. L., Nowell, L. S. (2015). Growth in the demand for nurses is fueling current and projected nursing shortages, as patient populations grow older, sicker and more complex at the same time that the age of currently employed nurses continues to increase. • 41. Brown Vs. Entertainment Merchants Association Brown V. Entertainment Merchants Association In the case of Brown V. Entertainment merchants Associations, the issue raised is that of violent video games being purchased by underage consumers (Oyez). In today s time with the new head turning technology in video games most of the games have some sort of violence present in them. Many games past and present incorporate some kind of violence such as, killing with weapons, using explosives, and crashing cars. With all of the present day technology all activities portrayed during in game scenarios are becoming more and more realistic. The California craftsman bungalow style house was named this because of its introduction to the United States in California and abundance in California in the 1900s to the 1930s. Craftsman refers to the style of house; whereas, bungalow references the features of the house and overall use of the house. The bungalow originated in India where it was as an alternative to tent living among English colonial traders and officers. For example, the San Francisco Call wrote an article in about a widow named Bertha Bossel who built a bungalow house in Berkley with the help of her son. She had been left a widow a few years prior to her construction of the bungalow, and the only thing she had to support her and her son was the cottage that she and her husband had built before his death. She picked up many skills during the construction of the first cottage, and planned to build the bungalow without outside aid. The author wrote about how Bertha built the house heedless of what the neighbors may say. This indicates that Bertha did not pay attention to what her neighbors or the public thought of her actions, implying that she did not care what they said about her actions because she continued to construct the house. The description of her independent attitude is progressive for that time period, empowering women because Bertha took on a traditionally masculine roles and completed them as if it was in her nature. However the language the author used to describe her and her actions in the article were patronizing. The author first introduced Bertha by stating, with her soft white hands Bertha Bossel, a brave little woman of Berkeley, has begun the erection of a bungalow on a lot she owns. The act of calling her brave, suggests that being strong was out of her character because it was not in her prescribed gender role. Additionally, describing her with soft white hands makes her appear delicate to the reader. The adjectives the used to describe Bertha fit into traditional gender roles as an act to balance out the traditionally masculine tasks Bertha fulfilled. For example, the author wrote with a canvas apron to protect her from the rough timbers, and she smiles and tolls as she does it in order to describe her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
