Becoming an Effective Practitioner
Becoming an Effective Practitioner
Giving quality care and support to patients, relatives and service users is very important as the
treatment they receive (NHS, 2013). It is important for patients and service users to have positive
experience in the healthcare settings, making sure they are cared for compassionately, respecting and
maintain their dignity at all times (Ellis, 2010; Royal College of Nursing (RCN) (2006). This essay
focuses on validity of a qualitative research studies. The aim is to use CASP Tool to critique a research
article Exploring patients self reported experiences of out of hours primary care and their suggestions
for improvement: a qualitative study by Poole et al (2011) chosen from the National Health Service
(NHS) frame work (2013) domain 4 (Ensuring people have a positive experience of care).
Furthermore, CASP will be use to critic this article to know if users have had a negative or positive
experience during out of hours and to develop on suggested program on improving on services by the
service users including the practitioners.
Critical Appraisal skills program (CASP) will be defined and will be later use to critically appraise the
research mentioned above. The importance of evidence based (EBP) in healthcare settings would be
briefly explained. Lastly validity, strength and weakness of the study would be looked into and to
conclude if it s or not fair enough to be used or modified services to patients and service users in care
settings.

Thanksgiving Is Heat-Up
The Holidays Are Heating Up
Thanksgiving is a time to get together with family, eat a delicious meal and reflect upon what we are
thankful for. During the busiest time of year, one of the last things people think about is the effect our
favorite holidays have on the environment, and yet, it is something we need to consider. Recently,
Carnegie Mellon University did a study on people s ecological footprints during the Thanksgiving
holiday. In their article titled Thanksgiving dinner s carbon footprint: A state by state comparison
published on ScienceDaily.com, the University discussed and compared the emissions of carbon
dioxide (CO2) in our earth s atmosphere during the Thanksgiving holiday.
The calculations of the amount of CO2 emitted

Example Of Diction In Hamlet
Within Shakespeare s writing there is an importance of the diction he uses, in order to enhance central
themes of the play. In addition, his diction creates allusions, connotations, denotations, and
ambiguities in order to allow the play to capture characters feelings and relations to the overall
themes. One line in act one was, I am a little more than kin and less than kind (25). The word kin
means son, but Hamlet says the phrase, a little more than kin , in order to express how he is related
more to his uncle than just as a son, but also as his cousin. Which allows him to go on to explain how
this circumstance is, less than kind . The actual definition of kind is polite but when Hamlet says, less
than kind he is inferring how appalling that his mother would shortly after his father died, marry his
father s brother. A brother in law, in Shakespeare s day was considered your actual brother, therefore,
the queen marrying Hamlet s uncle was known as incest, which is a common theme. Consequently,
this line contains emotional resonance, or connotation. As, mentioned the queen s action was frowned
upon to marry in your family, therefore, the audience may be feeling disgusted and pitying Hamlet for
the injustices that his mother has done for the family. Another way shakespeare uses his diction in
order to develop characters and central themes, is whenever the King talks. For example, when the
king talks to Hamlet about how crude and un king like Hamlet is acting, the king makes sure to point
out for these reasons Hamlet is not fit for being king. One line that the king said was, Tis unmanly
grief (27), which allows for the audience to once again feel a negative connotation. The emotional
appeal of the word, unmanly is how one may be extremely sensitive as would a female would be and
would never be able to get the job done. In addition, the actual definition or the denotation of the word
is for one to not act man like and is weak or cowardly. Therefore, the king, Claudius, is calling his son
a coward who is weak and too sensitive for the job. Which allows for the audience to feel as if the
king is the best person for the job and that he must be trustworthy and no one could rise against him.
Yet, the

Negligence Of Negligence Falls Under Tort Law
.0 Introduction Negligence is the failure to exercise due care or diligence that a reasonable or prudent
man would exercise in similar circumstances. The law of negligence falls under tort law where it
involves harm that is caused by carelessness and not intentional harm (Katter, 2002). A tort is a civil
wrong that is in the form of a breach of duty, which amounts to legal remedy that is awarded in
damages. Tort law rests upon two principles that state that an act or omission by the defendant
interferes with the rights of the plaintiff, which in turn causes damages (Trindade, 2007). Secondly, the
interference caused by the defendant gives rise to a cause of action for damages that are as near as
possible to the plaintiff s loss. Therefore, negligence can be defined as doing something that a
reasonable man would not have done in similar circumstances or failure to do what a reasonable man
would have done which amounts to infliction of harm.
2.0 Background The main idea of the law of negligence is to ensure that people exercise reasonable
care when they act by measuring the potential harm that may foreseeably cause harm to other people.
Negligence is the principal trigger for liability to ascend in matters that deal with the loss of property
of personal injury. Therefore, a person cannot be liable for something unless they have been found
negligent or have contributed to the loss of property or injury to the plaintiff (Stuhmcke, 2005). There

Oil And Gas Industry During The 19th Century Industrial...
In the old days, instrumentation and measurements were needed only in the transfer of goods and for
consistency of the exchanges. The 19th century industrial revolution brought much development in
instrumentation to serve the industrial needs of process variables measurement. The last few years of
the 20th century (because of the new innovations and development in electronics) resulted in new
instruments and measurement techniques, which are implemented in the oil and gas industry.
Instrumentation and measurement are very essential in oil and gas upstream, midstream, and
downstream. Upstream refers to the exploration of both underground and underwater crude oil and
natural gas fields, as well as drilling of exploratory wells, and ... Show more content on

There are two methods used to measure level of liquid; direct methods and indirect methods. Direct
methods of level measurement measures the height above a zero point by different methods. By
definition, direct methods for level measurement are mainly used where level changes are small and
slow such as in sump tanks and bulk storage tanks, this method actual level is monitored. It is simple
to use and reliable and not costly. These methods are safe because they are suitable to hazardous areas.
So they are highly recommended in oil and gas level measurement. There are four types of direct level
measurement devices. The 1st is the Dipstick and Dip Rods: Is a method that has been around for
hundreds of years. Our ancestors used to insert a long pole into a river or canal then pull it out and the
wetted part was used to determine the depth. Today they do the same thing but with a long metal rod
that has been dipped into a vessel. The rod is stopped either at the top of the vessel by a protruding
flange on the rod, or at the bottom of the vessel when the tip of the rod reaches the bottom. When the
rod is withdrawn, the wet/dry interface can be clearly seen and the level determined from a scale on
the rod (Image 2). The 2nd is Weighted Gauge Tape: similar to the dipstick the weighted gauge tape is
used in deep vessels and tanks where the dipstick cannot reach (Image 3). The 3rd is Gauge Glasses:

Trusted Financial Advisor
What does being a trusted financial advisor mean to you? To me, being a trusted financial advisor
means acting ethically, and in the best interest of your client 100 percent of the time. This means that a
trusted financial advisor must have great knowledge of the capital markets, and know where to invest.
They must be able to communicate efficiently with their teammates, as well as their clients. A trusted
financial advisor should work to personalize each client s portfolio to maximize the benefits of that
client. Loyalty, is a characteristic a trusted financial advisor must possess, they must maintain a

During my senior year it was my turn to become the leader of our team, and it was my turn to bring
our team together. In order to build a strong working relationship with a team you first need to create
the proper environment for everyone. For a team to thrive each teammate must care for one another.
To create an environment like this our senior class would regularly schedule team bonding activities to
bring everyone closer together. Along with that, all of the players knew that they could come to us if
they needed help with anything, or if something was wrong. The second crucial part of building a
strong working relationship with a team is communication. My senior class and I knew that we had to
effectively communicate what we expected from our team, and have everyone buy into a common
goal (win a championship). We also knew that we had to allow everyone on the team a voice, so we
created an environment where people could speak their mind if they wanted to, and we would keep an
open mind. By executing the things I talked about above, my senior class and I were able to create the
closest team that I had been a part of in all four years of

The Good Earth Quotes
A Comment Upon the Meaning
Can even the most faithful man forget his morals in extreme circumstance? What does it take for one
to be broken? In Pearl S. Buck s fiction novel, The Good Earth, Wang Lung and his family struggle to
survive the hardships of rural 1930 s China. With their lives at stake, a plethora of decisions will test
Wang Lung s physical and mental state. Commented upon as, A comment upon the meaning and
tragedy of life as it is lived in any age in any quarter of the globe, by the New York Times, The Good
Earth is a highly distinctive, yet undeniably relatable tale of prosperity and tragedy.
Unlike its fairy tale counterparts, The Good Earth is not a story of endless success. Wang Lung, the
protagonist, receives more than his share of downs, both in and out of his control. Early in the novel,
famine strikes Wang Lung s town, leaving him with no option but to drag his family to the South.
With Wang Lung as the host of the leech that is the famine, he feels that he will never return to his old
life. Not unlike readers themselves, Wang Lung wants nothing but the best for his family. To readers,
it is only understandable and inevitable that in these circumstances, it is bound for extreme actions to
take place. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

family in any way he can. Again, another proof relatable reality in the novel; the characters are not

such a theft, a soon to be hypocritical action. Wang Lung himself is led to success through theft, a
realistically plausible and tempting solution to all of Wang Lung s

Everyman Wealth
Introduction
Money, fame, and fortune rules all. It seeps into the lives of people and is the underlying control
mechanism of decisions and actions. The need for either of these things is common among all people.
In an idea society, religion would be the underlying control mechanism of people s decisions and
actions; however, it is not. Everyman is a prime example of how religion, even in the 15th century,
struggled to be a predominate force in humanity s existence. This essay will examine the human race s
abandonment of the Lord s will and determine how Everyman presents the idea of material wealth.
Sex and Material Wealth
Sex and money are two things that go hand in hand. Once one acquires the other the missing piece is
not too far behind. This quote is a perfect example of Everyman s view of wealth, ...His mind is on
fleshly lust and his treasure, And great pain it shall cause him to endure Before the Lord Heaven
King... This quote suggests that the epitome of earthly life is to have lots of sex and acquire lots of
riches. However, the Lord did not give humanity life to squander in such a way and he will send Death
to bring hunans to judgement for their coveting of material wealth and sex.

The Lord was dissatisfied with the human behavior of the 15th century. Collecting wealth by any
means and all else be damned was the theme of the time. Complete disregard for others and utter self
absorption was rampant. The Lord sent Death to enact his justice, as witnessed in this quote, ...They
be so cumbered with worldly riches, That needs on them I must do justice, On Everyman living
without fear... . The Lord was so displeased with everyman that he decides judgement is due and sends
Death to stop humanity from living with

Impact of Big Business on Politics and the Economy Essay
After the Civil war, large businesses ruled America. Prior to the industrial revolution, the government
upheld a hands off approach towards business. Under the laissez faire principle, free, unregulated
markets led to competition, yet this system suffered under the wrath of growing corporations. The
impact of big business on the economy and politics was immense during 1870 to 1899. Corporations
were growing significantly in number and size, which had a domineering affect on American economy
and defined American life. The growing corporations in America dominated most of the economy,
creating a large gap between the rich and the poor. During this time period food, lightening, and fuel
prices declined significantly, and the cost of living ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This illustrates that the Senate is controlled by big business, and how easily wealthy people had power
over the government. Moreover, the railroad presidents were seen as kings, they could delay lawsuits,
control the government and the people, corrupt communities, and control the press (DOC B).
Important railroad companies dictated government policies because the legal system favored railroad
interests. Further, trying to better the political system, the Populist Party made themselves known.
Their platform demanded that the government be restored to the hands of the plain people. They
wanted to end oppression, injustice, and poverty (DOC F). Evidently, they were dedicated to political
and social reform, and urged that the government be strengthened and take responsibility of the
people. The harsh working conditions resulting from industrialization drove laborers to organize into
unions. Economist David A. Wells compares working in a factory to working in the military because
workers are taught to perform one single task. Moreover, manufacturing has largely taken away
workers pride in their work (DOC C). Mass production techniques led to specialization of labor,
which subsequently decreased workers pride in their craft, as well as left workers largely unskilled.
Further Samuel Gompers, founder of the AF to L, addressed the International Labor Congress in
Chicago and stated that people should not be considered property. He advocated that labor

b) Why are astronomers using radio telescopes looking for far stars instead of a telescope?
First of all, what is a radio telescope? The first non visual spectral region that was used extensively for
astronomical observations was the radio frequency band. Telescopes observing at these wavelengths
are commonly called radio telescopes. Radio telescopes may be made much larger than
optical/infrared telescopes because the wavelengths of radio waves are much longer than wavelengths
of optical light. A rule of thumb is that the reflecting surface must not have irregularities larger than
about 1/5 the wavelength of light that is being focused. By that criterion a radio telescope is several
hundred thousand times ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The 1000 foot reflector dish, also featured in the James Bond film, quot;Goldeneye, quot; is the largest
stationary radio telescope and most powerful radar in the world. Russell Hulse and Joseph Taylor of
Princeton University earned a Nobel Prize by using the dish in the 1970s to discover the first pulsar in
a binary system, confirming a prediction of Einstein s theory of general relativity.
In the early 1990s, Arecibo was used to detect the first planets outside the solar system. The dish
recently received a facelift in a $27 million upgrade which makes it four times more sensitive to radio
emissions from distant galaxies. The dish was used in the 1960s to chart accurately for the first time
the rate at which the planet Mercury rotates. More recently it studied ice in Mercury s polar craters,
the chemistry of Earth s upper atmosphere and rotating pulsars. The new upgrade will let astronomers
quot;hear quot; signals from much greater distances, and further back in time, than before.
d) What is VLA? How does it work?
The VLA is an interferometer; this means that it operates by multiplying the data from each pair of
telescopes together to form interference patterns. The structure of those interference patterns, and how
they change with time as the earth rotates, reflect the structure of radio sources on the sky: we can take
these patterns and use a mathematical technique called the Fourier transform to make

Women In The Prefect
Instead of attributing their close relationship to possible eroticism, their companions, such as the
Prefect, seem perfectly willing to consider them as an investigative duo. As the Prefect enters their
domain, for example, Dupin stands to turn on a lamp as he and the narrator had been sitting in the
dark, but doesn t do so because the Prefect insists they get right into the discussion at hand (The
Purloined Poe 7). The mere fact that they re reading in near darkness seems contradictory as, one
might assume, light aids readers, but it becomes less strange once one considers the possibility that the
two men have simply wasted the day away in each other s company. The Prefect, as demonstrated,
does not make this connection. He then fails to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While their bachelor status allows them leeway in their expression of sexuality and their non
restriction to heterosexual, familial life, the aforementioned relationships both take advantage of
women in order to further establish and even deepen instances of male homosociality. Between the
narrator and Dupin, for instance, bonding tends to occur around their investigations. Their
investigations, coincidentally, revolve around the bodies of dead, discredited, or disempowered
women (Between Men 137). Both The Murders in the Rue Morgue and The Mystery of Marie Rôget
involve bodies of dead women that coincidentally have no place in discussions farther along the text.
Thus, Dupin and the narrator can discuss women without having to engage with them, whether such
engagements would have been romantic or otherwise. While no dead women are present in The
Purloined Letter, a disempowered woman is certainly present, being the victim of the text s driving
conflict. While the entirety of the text hinges on such theft, the victim of the crime is barely
mentioned, nevertheless never physically present (Derrick 72). Because bachelorhood precludes
intimate relations with women, the routing of homosocial desire through the disempowerment of
women works within the framework of all three of Poe s short

The Abolishment Of The Electoral College
The controversial presidential election of 2000, Al Gore won a majority of the popular vote, but he did
not win the electoral college votes. George W. Bush won the presidency that year and Americans
began to question the abolishment of the Electoral College (Wilcox 1). The identical problem
reappeared during the 2016 presidential election, when Donald Trump lost the popular vote to Hillary
Clinton by over 2.8 million votes, but he earned 74 votes more votes than Hillary Clinton in the
Electoral College, which resulted in Donald Trump becoming the 45th president of The United States
of America. Popular votes in the presidential election are more adequate and civil for The United
States of America because the people are casting a vote directly for the possible future president rather
than casting a vote to the electors of each state.
The United States of America does not elect its president by a popular vote, but instead uses a process
to select its leader, but it may not be the politicians a majority of voters were in favor of (Noble 1).
The establishment of the Electoral College was created in 1804 in Article II of the US Constitution.
The Electoral College was fashioned as a settlement for the presidential election growth because
politicians assumed that a popular election was too careless and would give too much power to highly
populated places in our country (Williams 1). How the Electoral College is set up is after the popular
votes from the state are

Copper Mining Industry Analysis
Copper mining became extremely popular in 1843 in what is now known as the Copper County. Here
was on the only place in the whole United States of America to get pure, native copper, that was until
the early 1900s. The first documented reports of copper being found in Michigan was in 1667 by
Claude Allouez, a missionary from France. In Allouez s report, the Native Americans in the Lake
Superior area, known as the Chippewa s, really valued the copper nuggets they found there. The
Upper Peninsula was soon to erupt into the center for the mining industry (Molloy, 1999).

In the Copper County, miners were not allowed to form a union until just before 1913. The strike was
about the conditions of the miners and what they had to go through while mining, it was an extremely
dangerous job. They did not get paid much, the labor was intense, and the days were long. The strike
lasted about nine months until the union that formed the strike, was ran out of town. It was considered
a turning point of mining history in the Keweenaw, even though it was not a success (Watson, 2014).
During the strike, something very disastrous and heartbreaking happened in Calumet, Michigan. Most
locals know the story of the Italian Hall Massacre, it is known as a very important part of the mining
strike. It is Christmas Eve, 1913, and many strikers decide to throw a party for their families and
children for the holiday. There are more than five hundred people inside the Italian Hall in Calumet,
which is also home of the Calumet and Hecla mine, one of the biggest mines in the area. Everyone is
dancing and laughing and having and amazing time if all their friends and family, and the strike slips
their minds for a while. Then, all of a sudden, someone screams Fire! Although there was never a fire,
panic erupts in hall, everyone searching for a way out, running towards the only door and staircase.
Everyone barricaded the door on accident, and many tripped and fell. There were so many people
blocking the door that the firemen could not even help there on the main door, they had to go up the
fire escapes and through the roof. There were seventy three people just piled on the floor in front of
the door, dead from being trampled or suffocated, at least sixty of which were children. Many people
were considered suspects, but the truth is, no one knows what exactly happened that grim Christmas
Eve night. All we know is that it was a man who just wanted the strike to be over and done with, even

Examples Of Annotated Bibliography
What is an annotated bibliography? When and why is it used? Also, what are in text citations and why
do we use them? These are a few questions that we will be addressing in this paper, in addition to
many other questions about these topics. Let us start by defining an annotated bibliography. As
mentioned by Bullock et. al, an annotated bibliography describes and gives publication information
for, and sometimes evaluate each work on a list of sources. (p.66) Additionally, an in text citation is
defined as a reference made within the body of text of an academic essay ( What is an in text citation?
, para. 1) We will discover their purpose, why they are important, how to construct them, and when to
use them. The purpose of an annotated bibliography is to inform the reader of the relevance, accuracy,
and quality of the sources cited. ( Annotated Bibliography, 2007) It can be done in one of two ... Show

al, 2017) It can be written in different ways, for example, if the author is mentioned in the sentence,
you would put just the page number in parenthesis, e.g. (263). If not, the parenthesis would include the
authors last name and page number, e.g. (Wordsworth 263). Additionally, there are many guidelines
depending on the type of source, what information is available, etc. Therefore, it is best to research
certain types of citations when you come across them.
In conclusion, we learned that the purpose of an annotated bibliography is to summarize or analyze the
source used for your research. Additionally, having an annotated bibliography has many benefits. One
example is the assistance in developing the proper thesis statement for your paper. With the extensive
summaries or analyzations, you can use this information to choose the right path for your essay. The
length and format of your annotated bibliography is dependent on the style you chose as well as

The Ever Changing Definition Of Home
The Ever Changing Definition of Home (change title)
I guess one might call it naivete, but at first, I simply associated home with the single definition of
where an individual lived or as something synonymous to an address. As I progressed into high
school, and moved yet once again, I realized that was not the case. Now I believe home is an
atmosphere created by the people that are surrounding me. I can be anywhere and feel at home as long
as I m with those people. My home is ever changing and developing as new people come in and out of
my life. The unforgettable memories and feelings of comfort and love created by the people
surrounding me are the cornerstone of my idea of home.
My house was teepeed or toilet papered during my last week in California. My older sister and I both
woke up disoriented, to our dog barking. We sleeply opened the front door assuming he had to pee,
but when we stepped out of the house we saw white. There were countless rolls of toilet paper hanging
from the countless number of trees. We stood there stunned. Already frazzled, I remembered how my
mom had warned us that if we wanted to get our security deposit returned on our rented house, the
house would have to be in tip top condition for the inspection. Our house had never been t ped before.
Why did it have to be tped the day of the inspection?
Our backyard was huge, so I marveled at the amount of time, effort, and toilet paper the pranksters
had exhausted to cover the large ground stretching

Political Humor And Satire In The Show Black-Ish
The show Black ish displays political humor and satire by using concepts such as confrontation, and
discursive integration. Throughout this paper, I will be explaining how Black ish displays these
concepts, as well as proving that this text can be considered politically humorous and satirical. I will
be taking examples from the texts Entertaining the Citizen and the article Let Us Infotain You, as well
as the show Black ish itself to help clearly provide evidence that shows that show Black ish contains
satire.

Black ish Is a comedy show but at times it shows clips or images that are not more news like and
informative to the viewers. To show how Black ish I will be discussing one of the episodes of the
show from season three in comparison with the article Let Us Infotain You. In the episode 40 Acres
and a Vote it used discursive integration. At the beginning, Andre had a slide playing sad music with
images of the Obama family on it. He then goes into a discussion speaking about how Barrack Obama
wasn t just important because he was the first black president, but because of he gave a hand in
showing African Americans that their votes not only were important, but they counted. There then was
a dramatization showing the process African Americans went through and the abuses they experienced
just to get to a place that showed their votes meant something. The reason why I believe that this is a
good example of the concept of discursive integration because although Black ish is a comedy sitcom,
it speaks on real life news situations that are happening currently. In the article Let Us Infotain You the
author s states, The blurring between news and entertainment is exemplified by the fact that the

Key Success Factors. Key Success Factors Are Variables
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
Key success factors are variables that can significantly affect the overall competitive positions of
companies within any particular industry (Wheelen, p113). Airlines are in part service businesses. To
be successful, an airline must be effective in four general areas: 1) attracting customers; 2) managing
its fleet; 3) managing its people, and 4) managing its finances.
Attracting customers
One of the biggest challenge in the airline industry is to attract customers. There are so many domestic
airlines that other same service, getting the customer from point A to point B, and the customer has to

to Columbus, Ohio, when the plane turned back to the gate unexpectedly. The flight attendant
approached Uhle and asked her to get off the plane. Uhle learned from her husband that her son, who
lives in Denver, Colorado, was in a coma after suffering a head injury. Before Uhle had even
disembarked her scheduled flight or spoken to customer service, Southwest had handled her situation.
They had booked her on a direct flight to Denver that was leaving in the next two hours, and the
airline did not charge Uhle any additional fees or service charges for the flight. Stories like that are
pretty common when it comes to Southwest, and that made them very appreciated by its customers.
Managing its fleet

The Impact Of Hate Crimes In America
Over the years, America has been prone to this violent act of hate crime that puts its citizens in a
situation of distressed and confusion. Hate crimes have been a part of America s history and culture
for decades. Because America is a diverse country, the level of hate crimes is outrageous in many
different levels due to different cultures, ethnicities, skin colors, and religions. Hate crime is a serious
act and has influenced our society today to look at certain people a different way. It is not an act that
people are born with rather than they are taught by it or it was inherited within a particular social
group. With the election of President Trump in 2016, hate crime activities have really increased in just
a year s matter. President Donald Trump plays a role in really highlighting these hate crimes and
almost making it seem like he is promoting hate crimes though many of his speeches and statements.
Of the many factors that contribute to the highly increasing hate crime activities, there are four factors
that I believe are contributing to the increasing hate crime activities. Those four factors are thrill
seeking, retaliation, mission offenders, and the income inequality. These factors all have a part into
why hate crime activities are increasing over the year. There are many different hate crimes in
America. Hate crimes are considered as criminal offenses and depending on which state this criminal
offense has been committed, they have their own laws to rule over it. According to Jack Leven and
Jack McDevitt, in their article Hate Crimes, they explained, ..the vast majority of hate crime laws do
not criminalize any new behavior; instead, they increase the penalty for behaviors that are already
against the law (Leven McDevitt, 2011). This is something that has been reviewed and updated over
the years. As many new behaviors to hate crime activity surface, those crimes will eventually fall
under some old laws but the penalty of it will eventually increase. This hate crime activity includes
any acts that involve with any negative attitudes or prejudice toward anyone because of their race,
religion, ethnicity, or gender. It often leads to people being bias and showing a tremendous amount of

Compare And Contrast A Large Republic Vs Small Republic
According to Madison, a large republic is better suited to govern and preserve a country than a small
republic. A large republic has many advantages over a small republic, specifically the unifying and
centralized power that represents the people. However, the number of representatives must be large
enough to limit power but small enough to encourage communication. With too many representatives,
there would not be a close knit relationship that develops with small group and it would be difficult to
be heard. Also, the larger the republic is, the bigger the pool of representatives to pick from is,
whereas in small republics it may be hard to find suitable candidates. In a small republic it is easier for
candidates to fool voters that they stand for something that they don t. Obviously you will find more
qualified candidates in the United States than in a smaller country like Mexico. These better
candidates help lead the country better, leading to a stronger and more unified state. ... Show more

With a higher populace comes the ability to have a larger fighting force. Another valid point that
Madison brings up is that small republics are often prone to faction, and eventually fall apart. With a
large republic, you can tame the factions with majority rule, while letting them freely express their
opinions. I agree with Madison on many of these points, but I think that he would change his opinion
on many after seeing the current condition of the United States. The governing body has grown so
large that it has become inefficient and in many areas has lost its ability to do what is best for the

China s Outbound Direct Investment
The type of China s outbound direct investment has also evolved over the years. In the 1980s and
1990s, China s ODI was largely undertaken by state owned enterprises (SOEs) which focused on
acquiring assets in natural resources, infrastructure and logistics (Rosen Hanemann, 2009). This type
of ODI was used to meet the demand of a growing China that needed commodities such as oil, iron,
timber, and cement to develop its infrastructure and provide the resources needed for its cities to
quickly urbanize (Rosen Hanemann, 2009). There are not ample amounts of these commodities in
China, thus Chinese resource firms turned abroad to secure supplies of these natural resources through
mining and other extraction investments (Rosen Hanemann, 2009).
In the past five years, however, China s outbound direct investment has entered a new era as Chinese
investment interest has shifted from targeting resource rich developing countries to advanced
economies (Hanemann Huotari, 2015). Though energy is still a targeted industry, Chinese firms are
eager to acquire advanced manufacturing assets that allow them to modernize technology and move
up the value chain (Hanemann Lysenko, 2013, p.1). This has led to increased Chinese investment in
developed economies, including the United States and Europe, in sectors like high tech, modern
service assets and infrastructure (Hanemann Lysenko, 2013). Chinese direct investment in the United

Taxes Essay
The less taxes we pay, the more lives we save. The United States has the highest corporate tax rate of
the 34 developed, free market nations that make up the Organization for Economic Cooperation and
Development (DECD). Unlike other countries, the United States pays a marginal corporate tax rate of
35% at the federal level and 39.2% state tax are accounting. This is causing thousands on corporations
to move operations out of the United States and into other countries. Therefore, the United States
should lower the taxes on big corporations. Lowering the taxes on big corporations creates new and
more jobs for people. Kellyanne Conway, Counselor of the President claims that When our business

To sum it up, lowering taxes on big corporations has a very big impact on the wages of the workers
and the benefit they get. The price of products will drop which can lead to the growth of the economy
if the taxes of big corporations will decrease. According to President Trump in the third debate on
Presidential Debate When the company lowers the taxes from 35% to 15% they have more money to
spend on research, development, and producing things which can lead to growth (para.2).
Therefore, companies do not need to move from and buy or sell their products from other countries
that raises the cost of their products only to avoid paying high rates here in the United States. If they
will not have to pay high rate of taxes more products will be made here and these may cause a
decreasing in the price of the products. The economy will expand again. However, we live in a
country where business is all about competition.A country where business is pure capitalism, which
means business are owned and or manage by private owners for profits. They are only after the profits,
they do not think about their consumers because we need their products to survive so we still buy
them. Even though Money is only matters when it comes to business, but by lessening their taxes they

The Importance Of The Panama Canal
There is an important climate and landscape in Central America and the islands in the Caribbean Sea.
The most important landscape is the Panama Canal. This is not an actual physical feature, but it is
very important in terms of their landscape and way of trade. The idea behind the Panama Canal was
created by Theodore Roosevelt. Japan had been isolated from trading, and they had great potential for
trading. The only problem was getting to Japan. As a result, and because the fastest route to Japan
would be to cut through Panama, America told Panama that we would get them independent if we
could build a canal. They agreed on this, and that America would own the canal for fifty some years.
Just recently, Panama has received ownership of the canal. As a result, we began trade with Japan.
This is an example of the United States getting involved with their government. Another landscape
feature is the Sierra Madre Occidental and the Sierra Madre Oriental which are two mountain chains
which for the Sierra Madre. As a result, Mexico had to adapt in these parts differently than they
adapted on flatter land. As a result, Northern Mexico is poorer than Southern Mexico due to an
irregular landscape which is hard for farming. The bodies of water are also important. The Rio Grande
provides a natural border between the United States and Mexico. It is also a form of transportation.
The Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico provide similar purposes. Trade routes occupy these bodies of
water

Congress s Powers Of The Constitution
In order for something to be broken it must have been whole to begin with, let us first discuss what
Congress used to represent and how it used to function. Most everyone knows that Congress is
bicameral and consists of two parts: The House of Representatives and The Senate. Congress s powers
are outlined in Article I of the Constitution. The framers formed two parts of Congress so that they
would balance each other out: no one branch would become too powerful and the laws would be more
complex and well thought. The Constitution had initially intended for the legislative branch (Congress)
to be the most powerful branch of government and at the beginning of post constitution United States
history it was. Congress was given the powers to enact laws (Gateways to Democracy, pp. 388).The
Framers were purposeful in making sure that Congress represented each individual state by allowing
each state to have two senators and for the number of representatives to be dependent on the size of
each state, thereby balancing out the powers each state had in Congress (Gateways to Democracy, pp.
389). The framers made it an even level playing field: whoever was most qualified to be elected into
Congress was usually elected. In the present day, money speaks louder than quality when it comes to
elections. Fundraising and lobbying are a problem in politics in general, but it has corrupted Congress.
As Lawrence Lessig discusses in How to get our Democracy Back: There will be no Change until we

Resistance Training Essay
Resistance training is an exercise that exploits progressive resistance movements, typically with free
weights or weight machines, to build strength or muscle endurance (Mood et al 2003). Weight training
has become very popular in recent years and is now used for a variety of reasons including
performance enhancement, competitive weight lifting and to increase physical fitness (Mood et al
2003). Interval training involves a repeated series of exercise work bouts interspersed with rest of
relief periods. This is a popular method among athletes because it allows the athlete to exercise at
higher relative intensities during the work interval than are possible with longer duration, continuous
training (Heyward 2002). The intensity can vary from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It might be more appropriate to refer to this type of training as vo2 max or aerobic capacity training
since the athlete trains at or very near the intensity which demands vo2 max of the system (Daniels
and Scardina, 1984). Interval training can be referred to in several different ways. Fox (1977) refers to
two types of interval training, low power output interval training and high power output interval
training. High power output interval training involves exercise and rest periods of less than one
minute. Gibala and Mcgee (2008) refer to High intensity training. This generally refers to repeated
sessions of relatively short intermittent exercise often performed with an all out . Minimum volume of
High intensity training may be necessary to increase VO2 peak. Alternatively, Astrand and Rodahl
(1977) say that exercise bouts lasting 3 5 minutes each are the longest recommended and are
considered optimum for training aerobic processes. The purpose of high intensity training is to
repeatedly stress the physiological systems that will be used during specific endurance type exercise
(Daniels and Scardina 1984) than which is required during a specific activity. Intensity was the most
important factor in producing improvements in aerobic power, regardless of level of exercise, duration
frequency, program length or initial fitness (Wenger and bell,

According to Anyakoha (1991), information technology is the use of man made tools for the
collection, generation, communication, recording, re management and exploitation of information. It
includes those applications and commodities, by which information is transferred, recorded, edited,
stored, manipulated or disseminated . Hawkridge (1983) describes information technology as a
revolution which has penetrated almost all fields of human activity, thus transforming economic and
social life. UNDP (2001) asserts that even if sustainable economic growth facilitates the creation and
diffusion of useful innovations, technology is not only the result of growth but can be used to support
growth and development. ICTs are credited with the ability to transform, and deep and significant
changes are expected from their widespread use in Africa. From this stand point Africans can take
maximum advantage of the new technologies even if major challenges remain. These challenges
include adapting ICTs to local conditions and uses in developing countries, and allowing each country
understand those innovations and adjust them to their own development needs. Therefore,
development in Nigeria depends on the country s capacity to create

characters of The Lesson and Callie s family are living in extreme poverty despite being in the richest

males can be the leaders and kept ignoring Paikea s attempts to be a part of the class. Sometimes Koro
even got very upset with Paikea, saying, You don t mess around with sacred things! , thinking that she

her grandfather that she can do everything the boys can, she took action to prove herself. One of these
times the boys had to swim after a whale s tooth (symbolic of tribal leadership) that Koro had thrown

Prokaryotes Vs Eukaryotes Essay
In the replication process of DNA, there are similarities between the process of replication of a
Eukaryote cell and Prokaryote cell. There are also differences in both processes. The most notable
difference would have to start with the cell themselves, which may add to additional differences in the
processes. A prokaryote is a more simplistic cell with less DNA and a Eukaryote cell is much more
complex with vast amounts of DNA.
The replication process in the end has the same goal and that is to copy DNA and pass it along to a
new cell. The processes begin in a similar fashion, which is the DNA is unwound by an enzyme
known as DNA helicase (Boundless, 2016). Prokaryotes and Eukaryotes both employ the polymerases
to synthesis DNA. In both cases the replication begins within the cell wall or cell membrane. The
processes of replicating the DNA into a new cell occurs with the aid of leading strands and lagging
strands (Bank, E., 2016). A leading and lagging strand uses RNA prime that inserts the first genetic
code that is completed by a subsequent lagging strand, Okazaki fragment.
The differences between the two replications are abundant. Although the replication occurs within the
cell wall for the two processes they both occur in different locations. The prokaryote replication
occurs in cytoplasm. It also is destined to occur in that one location ... Show more content on

The speed at which replication occurs is speedy but the decrease in speed for Eukaryote cells may go

processes with billions of lines of DNA would presumably be higher with increased speed. It may also
be true that having multiple points of origin could be more accurate at inserting code in the correct
position. Lastly, the end of a chromosome and the shortening of the chromosome may help to relieve

Exploitation of Imagery in The Dead and Araby by James Joyce
James Joyce, the author of both Araby and The Dead, exploits a sense of imagery throughout both
short stories. Araby and The Dead both share and differ from each other in the ways the imagery is
shown. The vivid imagery in Araby is applied to express feelings and expressions from one character
to another. The main character, an unnamed boy, has an undying admiration for Mangan s sister.
James Joyce describes the boy s obsession with Mangan s sister in vast imagery. The Dead also
includes many senses of imagery, but shows kinesthetic imagery rather than vivid imagery.
Kinesthetic imagery is an imagery that is portrayed through the movement and physical tension. In
The Dead, Gabriel, the main character, dislikes the country of Ireland he lives in, so he flees.
Throughout this, Gabriel describes how Ireland is boring and cold, displaying kinesthetic imagery. The
Dead and Araby both include vivid imagery, kinesthetic imagery, and auditory imagery.
Vivid imagery can be seen all throughout Araby. Vivid imagery is detailed writing that gives you a
sense of an image while you read. The story begins with North Richmond Street, being blind, was a
quiet street and continues to say, An uninhabited house of two storeys stood at the blind end, detached
from its neighbours in a square ground. The other houses of the street, conscious of decent lives within
them, gazed at one another with brown imperturbable faces ( Araby 1019). The way this imagery is

Corn Borer Larvae Lab Report
The Effect of the European Corn Borer Larvae on Bt Corn and Non Bt Corn
Introduction
The larvae of the European Corn Borer (ECB) moth begin feeding on leaf surfaces, before boring into
midribs and stalks of different plants. This could affect the yield of different products hence, a remedy
to this problem is necessary. As a result, scientists investigated the Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt), which
is a soil bacterium found in soil because the bacterium produces crystalline proteins that are stomach
poisons for different insects. This made geneticists introduce the Bt corn after inserting a crystalline
gene form the Bacillus thuringiensis into the corn. Considering that crystalline protein is poisonous to
insects, the Bt corn could be resistant to ECB. Therefore, the following is a lab report for an
experiment conducted with an aim of identifying the effect of ECB larvae on Bt and non Bt corn.

The Pros And Cons Of Contract Employment
There are advantages and disadvantages for both the employee and the employer with contract
employment.
For the employer, it gives them a way to keep their best employees around, along as they can provide
terms that the employee finds advantageous. However, by the same token, a good employee could be
offered a more attractive contract by another employer when it comes contract renewal time, having a
contract doesn t mean you own that employee, but it gives each of the parties involved a measure of
comfort.
As an employer and an employee having a contract spells out the terms of employment, it gives each
of you a clear expectation of the job that should be performed, the benefits such as health insurance,
sick days and even protection for any trade secrets that the employee may be privy to. Moreover, it
can limit the reasons that an employee can leave the company and terminate the contract early
(Findlaw, n.d.).
Furthermore, as an employee, you can have your pay with subsequent raises included in the terms as
well as know exactly what could be grounds for dismissal.
All in all a contract can provide each of you with an equitable premise to keep each party content and

Sociological Perspective On Marriage
Marriage can be viewed through any of the three main sociological perspectives: symbolic
interactionism, functionalism, and conflict theory. We will examine each one of these perspectives
individually. First, we will discuss marriage through the functionalist perspective. Functionalists say
that marriage fulfills the basic needs of society: economic production, recreation, sexual control, the
socialization and incorporation of children, reproduction, and the care of elders. The family fulfills
these roles. Although different societies definitions of marriage vary widely, they all satisfy these basic
criteria in some way. Functionalists also consider dysfunctions of marriage and family. They discuss
the fact that today s nuclear families, which exclude the extended family, prevent the distribution of
stress from the family s problems and may cause the nuclear family to splinter apart. It also lessens the
accountability of the nuclear family and allows problems such as abuse or incest to continue
unchecked. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Conflict theorists point out that conflict is a part of every marriage, and state that this conflict comes
from a struggle for power. They insist that women have been resentful of the power held by their
husbands for centuries, and have now wrested more than their fair share from their husband s grasps.
Personally, I don t put much stock in this idea; in the diagram on page 465, the chart shows that about
the same amount of couples divide decisions equally as just wives deciding, or just husbands deciding.
It s fairly close to an even split. According to conflict theory, none of these couples should divide

Persuasive Essay Zoos
Did you know zoos help endangered animals repopulate? Do you know that zoos also help provide
research for scientists? Can zoos eventually provide enough research to end endangerment of all
animal species? As the argument about whether animals should be kept in zoos continues, I am here to
give reasons on why zoos are beneficial to the environment. The facts to back me up in this argument
include, zoos help prevent extinction, zoos aid scientist s research, and lastly that they can heal injured
animals.
Some animal species in the world are endangered, such as the California condor. Endangerment means
the amount of living organisms of this species is far below average and are in the threat of extinction.
Extinction means that the whole species has died out. Statistics show that 21% of earth s mammal
species are endangered and that 33% of all amphibian species are endangered. When it comes to this
topic, zoos are major positives. Zoos will take in an animal, help it reproduce and survive, then release
it back into the wild. This allows for less animals to become extinct. Humans have already caused
most of their habitat loss and deaths; therefore, the zoos are there to provide them a way to rebuild and
restart. To wrap this up, zoos provide a large sum of support to animals that are going extinct and will

Zoos also help scientist obtain their research about certain animal species. With zoos, scientist are able
to gather an animal s information such as their behavior, breeding intervals, and their diets. Scientist
are able to apply this information to their studies and can learn about the animals. Their studies may
lead them to figure out items such as diseases and genetics to help keep the animal s species stable and

My Field Experiences At The International Newcomer Academy...
As I entered the doors of International Newcomers Academy (INA) for the first time, I can remember
how nervous I felt. I could not help but feel unprepared and I could not fathom how I could possibly
be any help to a student when we did not even speak the same language. However as quickly as my
field experiences began I could feel my perceptions changing. The experiences I had at INA have left
their mark on me and I am truly grateful for having the opportunity to complete my field experiences
at the International Newcomer Academy.
One aspect of INA is the ingenious teaching approaches. Effective teaching requires a multifaceted
approach, this includes utilizing Jensen s seven critical factors. These factors include engagement,
repetition. input quantity, coherence, timing, error correction and emotional states. Each factor is
distinct in its function and implantation. There are numerous benefits to incorporating these seven
critical factors into lessons such as engagement will induce focus and gain the student s attention,
repetition will enable the students to preview, review, and revise the information, input quantity limits
the amount of information resulting in a deeper understanding, coherence builds off the student s
personal experiences and prior knowledge, timing provides for activity shifts and best suitable
scheduling, error correction reinforces the lesson through quality feedback, and emotional states
evokes fundamental emotions to initiate self reliance and

The Thoughts Of Brahma And The Creation Of God
The Thoughts of Brahma is one of the creation myths in Hindu scripture that explains the creation of
the world that is Earth today. In this story, Brahma, the Hindu creator God, re creates the Earth every
four ages to bring the Earth to its original condition. To create beings, Brahma meditates and uses his
mind. Brahma s thoughts are then transformed into beings. To begin inhabiting the world, Brahma
starts by creating the evil or demons, this becomes the darkness. Brahma then creates the good, which
became the light. Afterwards, Brahma begins to create human beings. Brahma then began thinking
strangely, and as a result, horrible creatures were created. Brahma was so horrified with his actions
that all the hairs on his head fell out, and he mistakenly created ghouls as well. Upon moving on from
the dark thoughts, Brahma was able to create all of the other living things we know today.
In Thoughts of Brahma, the central theme of the story is creation. Whether the creating is good or evil,
this myth focuses on explaining the process on how the world became what it is today, and how its
inhabitants were formed.
The Thoughts of Brahma and the Christian creation stories in the book of Genesis have similarities
and differences (Genesis Chapter 1). In both creation stories, a divine being creates the world and all
of the beings that inhabit it. Some differences are that in the Christian faith, God takes an active role in
up keeping and sustaining the earth. In the Hindu

  • 4. Example Of Diction In Hamlet Within Shakespeare s writing there is an importance of the diction he uses, in order to enhance central themes of the play. In addition, his diction creates allusions, connotations, denotations, and ambiguities in order to allow the play to capture characters feelings and relations to the overall themes. One line in act one was, I am a little more than kin and less than kind (25). The word kin means son, but Hamlet says the phrase, a little more than kin , in order to express how he is related more to his uncle than just as a son, but also as his cousin. Which allows him to go on to explain how this circumstance is, less than kind . The actual definition of kind is polite but when Hamlet says, less than kind he is inferring how appalling that his mother would shortly after his father died, marry his father s brother. A brother in law, in Shakespeare s day was considered your actual brother, therefore, the queen marrying Hamlet s uncle was known as incest, which is a common theme. Consequently, this line contains emotional resonance, or connotation. As, mentioned the queen s action was frowned upon to marry in your family, therefore, the audience may be feeling disgusted and pitying Hamlet for the injustices that his mother has done for the family. Another way shakespeare uses his diction in order to develop characters and central themes, is whenever the King talks. For example, when the king talks to Hamlet about how crude and un king like Hamlet is acting, the king makes sure to point out for these reasons Hamlet is not fit for being king. • 5. Negligence Of Negligence Falls Under Tort Law .0 Introduction Negligence is the failure to exercise due care or diligence that a reasonable or prudent man would exercise in similar circumstances. The law of negligence falls under tort law where it involves harm that is caused by carelessness and not intentional harm (Katter, 2002). A tort is a civil wrong that is in the form of a breach of duty, which amounts to legal remedy that is awarded in damages. Tort law rests upon two principles that state that an act or omission by the defendant interferes with the rights of the plaintiff, which in turn causes damages (Trindade, 2007). Secondly, the interference caused by the defendant gives rise to a cause of action for damages that are as near as possible to the plaintiff s loss. Therefore, negligence can be defined as doing something that a reasonable man would not have done in similar circumstances or failure to do what a reasonable man would have done which amounts to infliction of harm. 2.0 Background The main idea of the law of negligence is to ensure that people exercise reasonable care when they act by measuring the potential harm that may foreseeably cause harm to other people. Negligence is the principal trigger for liability to ascend in matters that deal with the loss of property of personal injury. Therefore, a person cannot be liable for something unless they have been found negligent or have contributed to the loss of property or injury to the plaintiff (Stuhmcke, 2005). There is more to ... There are two methods used to measure level of liquid; direct methods and indirect methods. Direct methods of level measurement measures the height above a zero point by different methods. By definition, direct methods for level measurement are mainly used where level changes are small and slow such as in sump tanks and bulk storage tanks, this method actual level is monitored. It is simple to use and reliable and not costly. These methods are safe because they are suitable to hazardous areas. So they are highly recommended in oil and gas level measurement. There are four types of direct level measurement devices. The 1st is the Dipstick and Dip Rods: Is a method that has been around for hundreds of years. Our ancestors used to insert a long pole into a river or canal then pull it out and the wetted part was used to determine the depth. Today they do the same thing but with a long metal rod that has been dipped into a vessel. The rod is stopped either at the top of the vessel by a protruding flange on the rod, or at the bottom of the vessel when the tip of the rod reaches the bottom. When the rod is withdrawn, the wet/dry interface can be clearly seen and the level determined from a scale on the rod (Image 2). The need for either of these things is common among all people. In an idea society, religion would be the underlying control mechanism of people s decisions and actions; however, it is not. The first non visual spectral region that was used extensively for astronomical observations was the radio frequency band. Radio telescopes may be made much larger than optical/infrared telescopes because the wavelengths of radio waves are much longer than wavelengths of optical light. They agreed on this, and that America would own the canal for fifty some years. Just recently, Panama has received ownership of the canal. As a result, we began trade with Japan. This is an example of the United States getting involved with their government. Another landscape feature is the Sierra Madre Occidental and the Sierra Madre Oriental which are two mountain chains which for the Sierra Madre. • 24. Congress s Powers Of The Constitution In order for something to be broken it must have been whole to begin with, let us first discuss what Congress used to represent and how it used to function. Most everyone knows that Congress is bicameral and consists of two parts: The House of Representatives and The Senate. Congress s powers are outlined in Article I of the Constitution. The framers formed two parts of Congress so that they would balance each other out: no one branch would become too powerful and the laws would be more complex and well thought. The Constitution had initially intended for the legislative branch (Congress) to be the most powerful branch of government and at the beginning of post constitution United States history it was. Congress was given the powers to enact laws (Gateways to Democracy, pp. 388).The Framers were purposeful in making sure that Congress represented each individual state by allowing each state to have two senators and for the number of representatives to be dependent on the size of each state, thereby balancing out the powers each state had in Congress (Gateways to Democracy, pp. 389). The framers made it an even level playing field: whoever was most qualified to be elected into Congress was usually elected. In the present day, money speaks louder than quality when it comes to elections. Fundraising and lobbying are a problem in politics in general, but it has corrupted Congress. Resistance Training Essay Resistance training is an exercise that exploits progressive resistance movements, typically with free weights or weight machines, to build strength or muscle endurance (Mood et al 2003). Weight training has become very popular in recent years and is now used for a variety of reasons including performance enhancement, competitive weight lifting and to increase physical fitness (Mood et al 2003). Interval training involves a repeated series of exercise work bouts interspersed with rest of relief periods. This is a popular method among athletes because it allows the athlete to exercise at higher relative intensities during the work interval than are possible with longer duration, continuous training (Heyward 2002). It might be more appropriate to refer to this type of training as vo2 max or aerobic capacity training since the athlete trains at or very near the intensity which demands vo2 max of the system (Daniels and Scardina, 1984). Interval training can be referred to in several different ways. Fox (1977) refers to two types of interval training, low power output interval training and high power output interval training. High power output interval training involves exercise and rest periods of less than one minute. Gibala and Mcgee (2008) refer to High intensity training. This generally refers to repeated sessions of relatively short intermittent exercise often performed with an all out . Minimum volume of High intensity training may be necessary to increase VO2 peak. Alternatively, Astrand and Rodahl (1977) say that exercise bouts lasting 3 5 minutes each are the longest recommended and are considered optimum for training aerobic processes. The purpose of high intensity training is to repeatedly stress the physiological systems that will be used during specific endurance type exercise (Daniels and Scardina 1984) than which is required during a specific activity. Intensity was the most important factor in producing improvements in aerobic power, regardless of level of exercise, duration frequency, program length or initial fitness (Wenger and bell, ... • 34. Prokaryotes Vs Eukaryotes Essay In the replication process of DNA, there are similarities between the process of replication of a Eukaryote cell and Prokaryote cell. There are also differences in both processes. The most notable difference would have to start with the cell themselves, which may add to additional differences in the processes. A prokaryote is a more simplistic cell with less DNA and a Eukaryote cell is much more complex with vast amounts of DNA. The replication process in the end has the same goal and that is to copy DNA and pass it along to a new cell. The processes begin in a similar fashion, which is the DNA is unwound by an enzyme known as DNA helicase (Boundless, 2016). Prokaryotes and Eukaryotes both employ the polymerases to synthesis DNA. In both cases the replication begins within the cell wall or cell membrane. The processes of replicating the DNA into a new cell occurs with the aid of leading strands and lagging strands (Bank, E., 2016). A leading and lagging strand uses RNA prime that inserts the first genetic code that is completed by a subsequent lagging strand, Okazaki fragment. The differences between the two replications are abundant. Although the replication occurs within the cell wall for the two processes they both occur in different locations. Araby and The Dead both share and differ from each other in the ways the imagery is shown. The vivid imagery in Araby is applied to express feelings and expressions from one character to another. The main character, an unnamed boy, has an undying admiration for Mangan s sister. James Joyce describes the boy s obsession with Mangan s sister in vast imagery. The Dead also includes many senses of imagery, but shows kinesthetic imagery rather than vivid imagery. Kinesthetic imagery is an imagery that is portrayed through the movement and physical tension. In The Dead, Gabriel, the main character, dislikes the country of Ireland he lives in, so he flees. Throughout this, Gabriel describes how Ireland is boring and cold, displaying kinesthetic imagery. The Dead and Araby both include vivid imagery, kinesthetic imagery, and auditory imagery. Vivid imagery can be seen all throughout Araby. Vivid imagery is detailed writing that gives you a sense of an image while you read. The story begins with North Richmond Street, being blind, was a quiet street and continues to say, An uninhabited house of two storeys stood at the blind end, detached from its neighbours in a square ground. Corn Borer Larvae Lab Report The Effect of the European Corn Borer Larvae on Bt Corn and Non Bt Corn Introduction The larvae of the European Corn Borer (ECB) moth begin feeding on leaf surfaces, before boring into midribs and stalks of different plants. This could affect the yield of different products hence, a remedy to this problem is necessary. As a result, scientists investigated the Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt), which is a soil bacterium found in soil because the bacterium produces crystalline proteins that are stomach poisons for different insects. This made geneticists introduce the Bt corn after inserting a crystalline gene form the Bacillus thuringiensis into the corn. We will examine each one of these perspectives individually. First, we will discuss marriage through the functionalist perspective. Functionalists say that marriage fulfills the basic needs of society: economic production, recreation, sexual control, the socialization and incorporation of children, reproduction, and the care of elders. The family fulfills these roles. Although different societies definitions of marriage vary widely, they all satisfy these basic criteria in some way. Functionalists also consider dysfunctions of marriage and family. They discuss the fact that today s nuclear families, which exclude the extended family, prevent the distribution of stress from the family s problems and may cause the nuclear family to splinter apart. Can zoos eventually provide enough research to end endangerment of all animal species? As the argument about whether animals should be kept in zoos continues, I am here to give reasons on why zoos are beneficial to the environment. The facts to back me up in this argument include, zoos help prevent extinction, zoos aid scientist s research, and lastly that they can heal injured animals. Some animal species in the world are endangered, such as the California condor. Endangerment means the amount of living organisms of this species is far below average and are in the threat of extinction. Extinction means that the whole species has died out. Statistics show that 21% of earth s mammal species are endangered and that 33% of all amphibian species are endangered. When it comes to this topic, zoos are major positives. Zoos will take in an animal, help it reproduce and survive, then release it back into the wild. This allows for less animals to become extinct. In this story, Brahma, the Hindu creator God, re creates the Earth every four ages to bring the Earth to its original condition. To create beings, Brahma meditates and uses his mind. Brahma s thoughts are then transformed into beings. To begin inhabiting the world, Brahma starts by creating the evil or demons, this becomes the darkness. Brahma then creates the good, which became the light. Afterwards, Brahma begins to create human beings. Brahma then began thinking strangely, and as a result, horrible creatures were created. Brahma was so horrified with his actions that all the hairs on his head fell out, and he mistakenly created ghouls as well. Upon moving on from the dark thoughts, Brahma was able to create all of the other living things we know today. In Thoughts of Brahma, the central theme of the story is creation. Whether the creating is good or evil, this myth focuses on explaining the process on how the world became what it is today, and how its inhabitants were formed. The Thoughts of Brahma and the Christian creation stories in the book of Genesis have similarities and differences (Genesis Chapter 1).
