Catiline s Conspiracy
There are moments in history that can almost mirror later events. Patterns can be found in the types of
people that obtain power, how they obtain power, and what the circumstances of the state surrounding
their rises to power are. There are also events that can seem entirely different from each other, and yet
when looked at closely show real resemblance in specific ways that power shifts throughout history.
Catiline is an example of failure to secure power. He raised an army of revolutionists who were found
out before they could carry out their plan to murder hundreds of senators. Fidel Castro, who did
achieve power later in his political career, created a plan to attack that Moncada Barracks which
failed, in the end. Catiline s Conspiracy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Catiline s was considered a failure as it was never actually executed because Cicero was informed in a
timely notion and took action to prevent it . Many of his followers were captured and executed
without trial, leaving him unable to take up arms against the senators as originally planned. Catiline
was then declared an enemy of the state. Of course, before the Senators could take real action against
Catiline, it needed to be proven to the citizens that he was a threat to Rome and its people. Catiline
gathered up troops to attack after he had fled Rome, but in the end was killed on the battlefield when
fighting against the Roman army . Fidel Castro s plan failed as well, but unlike Catiline, he managed
to at the very least start what he had intended. The 120 men that he recruited began their attack as
scheduled, and fair number of men made it into the Moncada Barracks but there were unplanned
patrol guards in cars and ended up detaining Castro and the rest of his men. Those who escaped went
into the wrong building because they were confused as to which building was the target building, so
rather than the barracks they entered the military hospital which was not the intended target. The men
of Fidel Castro that had made it to the inside of barracks reached their objective (obtaining the
weapons in the weapons depository) but by that point there was too much shooting because back up
had already been called in by the patrol guards who had seen Castro and his army. In the end, Castro
and his men ended retreating, but not before many of his men had died or been captured . Like
Catiline, Castro himself was able to escape from the Cuban government and he was even able to avoid
being put to death because of his relationship with the local Catholic bishop. Instead, he was put on
trial like many of his men (who were also tortured) and was declared guilty with a sentence of 15
years in prison . These two events show an

The Ins and Outs of Internships
Internships are positions providing students with practical experience. The department can offer
internships to students as volunteers or for academic credit. Departments employ interns during the
school year and also in the summer. Students can earn work experience by participating in an
internship. Interning in a field of choice will stand out on a students resume and help them with their
job search after graduation. Participating interns gain on the job training that integrates education,
career development and public service, while agencies hosting interns benefit from the contributions
of creativeand innovative students. Everyone a student meets during the course of their internship is

This will help them to ascertain whether this industry is suited to their interests and qualifications, or
if they feel uneasy about embarking on a career within this field. Above all, it is an excellent
opportunity to gain a thorough understanding of a particular industry.
This experience will also enhance your self confidence and inspire you to become successful,
particularly if you are set up with a motivating and encouraging mentor who is able to teach you all
about the industry.
It is also an excellent opportunity to obtain professional references before embarking on your career.
This means that upon completion of your education, you will not be restricted to resorting solely to
educational references.
An internship also gives a valuable addition to any CV. This will increase a candidate s market value
and assist them in better marketing themselves when seeking employment. Once the internship has
reached completion, the individual will also have access to important connections within their selected
industry, meaning that the internship was also a great networking tool. Fundamentally, they will
emerge from the experience a more learned person who has gained valuable skills and understanding.
Ultimately, the intern could be offered employment by the company they have interned for

A Part Of Epistemology Is The Study Of Knowledge
A part of epistemology is the study of knowledge. The study of knowledge deals with various
questions such as: What is considered as knowledge? How is knowledge acquired? What are the limits
of knowledge? (Steup, 2014). Knowledge can be acquired in two ways as there are two types of
knowledge. One type of knowledge is a posteriori knowledge which is gained through experience. The
other type of knowledge is a priori knowledge which is based on reasoning and independent of
experience. Through the limits of knowledge, the problem of scepticism arises.
Scepticism is concerned with the existence of knowledge. A sceptic is a person who doubts whether
we have any knowledge. It has been suggested that we do not, or cannot, know anything, or at least
that we do not know as much as we think we do. Such a view is called skepticism. (Turncellito). There
are four types of sceptics: Radical, Local, Cartesian and Humean. A radical sceptic says that we do not
and cannot have knowledge, knowledge is therefore unobtainable. A local sceptic suggests that a
person can have knowledge in certain subjects and not in others. For example, I can have knowledge
about my thoughts but not about the thoughts of others.
We will learn about Cartesian scepticism through Descartes First Meditation. Descartes (1641) talks
about how whatever he has considered true until now has come to him through his senses and these
senses have occasionally deceived him. Therefore, he says that it is unwise to completely

The Play Fences Rhetorical Devices
Fences: how Troy s attitude changes toward death throughout the play In the play Fences by August
Wilson, the main character Troy Maxson mentions death throughout the play. As the play goes on, he
becomes older and more ornery. His attitude changes towards death. It goes from being a sort of
mockery towards death to the realization that, he is losing the fight with death. Using multiple quotes,
in chronological order, this change in perspective on death can be shown thru the use of imagery,
personification and figurative language. The first quote which illustrates how Troy s attitude changes
in the play is Troy: Death ain t nothing. I done seen him. Done wrassled with him. Death ain t nothing
but a fastball on the outside corner. And you know what I ll do to that! Lookee here, ... Show more

Figuratively and literally; Troy: I can t taste nothing. Helluljah! I can t taste nothing no more.(Troy
assumes a batting posture and begins to taunt Death, the fastball in the outside corner.) Come on! It s
between you and me now! Come on! Anytime you want! Come on! I be ready for you...but I ain t
gonna be easy. (The lights go down on the scene). Repetition serves to hammer home certain images;
images of the fastball on the outside corner, the few deep breaths you take before a swing. As the play
goes on, Troy realizes his fight with death is a losing one. He has only a matter of time before his
joking, cocky attitude abandons him, weak and helpless against the throes of the wraith that is death.
Up until this point, he has referred to death as a person or being too many times to count. In part he
does this to make the difficulties he faced easier on himself, much in the same way we embellish the
stories we tell about ourselves to others. The last phrase in the quote fastball in the outside corner
provides a rich irony, as the reader realizes the tables have turned. Death is no longer the fastball in the
outside corner. Troy

Love In The Story Of A Short Story
Frederic Henry arrives at an American hospital in Milan where he meets Ms. Gage, a nurse who he
later befriends. At the hospital, the superintendent, Miss Van Campen, immediately dislikes Frederic,
and prohibits him from drinking alcohol with his meals, which he disregards. The next day, Catherine
Barkley comes to visit Frederic at the hospital and they rekindle their romance. Later, a doctor comes
and checks Frederic s leg. He advises Frederic to wait until his leg has healed six months before they
operate, but Frederic is impatient, and asks the opinion of another doctor, Dr.Valentini. Dr. Valentini
says that Frederic can be operated on the next day. The night of the operation, Catherine visits
Frederic in his hospital room. Catherine is overly sweet and vows to do whatever Frederic wants.
Frederic s surgery goes well. In the summertime, while Frederic s leg is healing, Catherine and
Frederic enjoy a number of romantic dates involving horse drawn carriages, fine wines and long
walks. In the midst of one of their dates, Frederic brings up marriage. Catherine admits that she feels
as if she is already married, and wishes to stay unmarried in order to stay close to the front where
Frederic is stationed. One day in the summertime, Frederic and Catherine and a few of their friends
decide to go to the races. There, they bet on horses and find out that the racing in Milan was very
crooked. In September, Frederic sees that fighting at the front has gotten bad, but to distract himself
from the war news he reads the news on baseball. He later sees Catherine who tells him she is three
months along with a child. Frederic is ecstatic about the child. A day later, Frederic is sick with
jaundice. That same day, Miss Van Campen finds several bottles of brandy in Frederic s closet. She
scolds him, thinking that he self inflicted the disease to escape the front. Frederic tells her he didn t,
but she still sends him to the front immediately. Frederic prepares to leave Milan. He buys a pistol,
says goodbye to the nurses, and spends his last few hours in a hotel with Catherine. Section II: Quotes

Greed In Macbeth
Shakespeare was, and still is, the most celebrated playwright, poet, and actor both during his life and
current day. He published many great works with amazing themes. However there is none greater than
theme of greed portrayed in The Tragedy of Macbeth. Greed is played predominantly throughout this
entire play in several characters, but most by none other than MacBeth and his lovely wife, Lady
MacBeth. Not only is theme of greed shown throughout this play, Shakespeare goes as to far as to
show how greed can change a person s outlook, persona, and life.
Lady MacBeth was one of the biggest antagonist through the first half of MacBeth. She was greedy
and wanted power more than anything, including her husband s reservations about murder and getting

doesn t necessarily have thirst for it, but his wife obviously does. Shmoop.com writers even accurately

issues begin. MacBeth was actually happy being named thane of Cawdor, but didn t last too long due

act of killing Duncan. After the death of the king, MacBeth really starts to lose it. He becomes just like
his wife, and wants nothing more than power. It s ironic as MacBeth becomes more and more greedy,
his wife starts see how greed is an awful thing, MacBeth, who was once happy just being thane of

Sex in the City by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo Essay
I bought this book when I was in class 8th and had an enormous crush on a guy who liked by then best
friend. I loved the book so much that I recommended it to and even passed around my copy to help
those who weren t sure as to what was going on in their lives. Yes, I bought the book. I was 14 then.
The book was intended to empower girls to stop waiting for disinterested guys. And it did emancipate
the 14years old me from the unending pain! I realized that if a guy liked me, he would make it obvious
by telling me so, calling me regularly, taking me out, etc. and if he does not do all this, he is not
interested in me. My world was suddenly black and white.
Today, I am 21years old and I can say without any second thoughts, I don t need to ... Show more

They say so because although it seems that the guy gave the girl the control of the situation, in reality
of the authors world, this means that HE gets to choose whether to pick up her call or not. However on
planet Earth, the girl could have just called to fix a date.
And then there were dodgy suggestions like how a woman should never ever ask a man out because
men are conditioned to lead. The guy could be as unsure of your feelings as you are of his, or he could
be shy! I say WHY NOT ask a man out!
Many women play the martyr in relationships with men who don t treat them well because many
women feel so devoted to their partners that they are afraid of losing them. They sometimes delude
themselves with fantasies about why the partner still loves them despite all the signs pointing
otherwise. This isn t gender specific! Guys are just as delusional as women when in love! They too
would try to save the relationship by playing the martyr .
Real life is not so black and white, and this highly sexist, misogynistic book assumes that it is.
Unluckily, relationships are perilously perched in the grey and that s what makes them hard and
complicated. We are humans after all. We hurt and shape each other all the time. It is unfair to hold
men responsible for initiating all hetero relationships, casual or serious. Men are equally affected by
work pressure, family environment and heartbreaks!

Texas Involvement In The Civil Rights Movement
Neressa Salazar
July 13, 2015
Final exam
History 3330
The darkest times of our nation surrounded two major happenings. The initial occurrence was the
institution of slavery. Second, the struggle for civil rights has plagued our country even through today.
Texas has been a key state in each of these events. Research of the civil rights movement further
illustrates Texas involvement. Key figures, legislation, and issues revealed through research further
exemplify the Texas involvement in the civil rights struggle for African Americans and Latinos. The
fight for civil rights in Texas expanded across social, political, and even religious lines. Similar to
many other states across the south, African Americans and Latinos found themselves ... Show more

The initial incident leading to the case took place at The University of Texas Law School. Herman
Sweatt registered in 1946 to no avail. The postal worker, with the assistance of the NAACP, managed
to reach the United States Supreme Court with the case. By 1950 the court reached a decision in favor
of Herman Sweatt. Despite the victory, it was only a small step toward the complete integration of
public schools. (Morris)
Education
Due to the civil rights battle in Texas, the face of politics was reformed. An era of conservatism was
initiated within Texas politics. Previously, Democrats occupied all major state offices. By 1950 the
momentum shifted. Allan Shiver s governor election initiated the change. The change reached the
presidency. Eisenhower became only the second Republican president to win the state s Electoral
College at the time. (Morris) Lyndon B. Johnson became a figure of interest during the civil rights era.
He was considered to be a progressive, often considered to be reminiscent of Lincoln. (Orozco)
Following the untimely death of President John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson inherited office
becoming the 36th president of the United States. From January 1965 to April 1968 Johnson
implemented more legislation in regards to civil rights than any other president past or present.
(Guglielmo) The most notable laws passed by Johnson were enacted in 1957, 1960, and 1964.

Fast Food Purchases Between Males And Females
Are there differences in fast food purchases between males and females according to their age?
Abstract
The fast food industry in America seems to make up to $120 billion a year due to the high
consumption rate of their products (Schlosser, 2002). Also, people from the UK are the highest fast
food consumers in Europe and the number of fast food restaurants have doubled between the years
1984 and 1993. The aim of this study was to investigate the differences in fast food purchases of
males and females according to their gender and age in the UK. A survey in the form of a
questionnaire was conducted on 200 males and 200 females aged between 15 and 70 from different
parts of the UK. Those participants were chosen if they had responded Yes ... Show more content on

As well as the age difference; that younger people consume more fast food due to the price and
frequent availability of it than older people is also supported by previous research.
Obesity and diabetes are very common consequences of eating too much fast food, but how can one
resist it if these large chains such as McDonalds, KFC and Burger King appear on every street you go
and have now taken over airports, hospitals, entertainment units and even schools? It is said that fast
food purchasing is a typical act of young people since they are commonly surrounded by it, however it
is believed that older people find it a cheap and easy way of substituting home cooking too.
Nevertheless, the main targets of these fast food companies are younger people, and the chains have
recently taken into account that youngsters are trying to have a healthier lifestyle and have added
vegetarian meals, salads and other healthy options to their menus.
The country s concern over obesity, food poisoning and BSE (mad cow disease) caused the industry to
take the issues of food quality and nutrition more extremely. According to the Lifestyles Statistics
Team from the Health and Social Care Information Centre (2015), the rate of obesity in adults of the
UK has increased by 12.8% in men and 7.4% in women in 10 years (from 1993 to 2013), clearly

The Theory Of A Teacher
I understand that running an entire state can be difficult, but it is critical for an important man, such as
yourself, to keep in mind the education system in New York and to remember the future of the state.
The Danielson Framework for teachers, although it does provide a standard to assess teachers on, is
ultimately inaccurate and inefficient. The framework fails to provide an assessment on how effective a
teacher is but rather how effective a teacher can act while getting reviewed. In the occasion that a
teacher does attempt to follow the framework throughout the year, they could end up focusing too
much on the minor aspects than focusing on the content they are teaching. Please understand that there
are better ways to judge the effectiveness of a teacher. The Danielson Framework has forced teachers
to means of teaching they are not comfortable with. Teachers have changed their entire teaching
methods for their evaluations. My teacher shifted from a normally lecture heavy class setting, which
has its benefits, to worksheets and activities for one day to convince their evaluators that they are
engaging students in learning with activities and assignments. Although you may believe that these
activities are engaging, a teacher whose main strength is in lectures and whose students have grown
accustomed to his lectures did not know how to effectively use those worksheets. To this day I have no
idea what I learned in that activity. It was not only this one teacher who

Examining The Following Strategies For A Higher Branch...
When analyzing the following strategies as a comparison, my finding results illustrate some
similarities and some differences; however, these comparisons listed below:
Original Jurisdiction consists of the judicial system having the authority to observe a case first before
further examination of the evidence needing to decide in a higher courtroom setting. The objective
here is to see if the evidence is worth sending up to a higher branch within the judicial system courts
or for the courts to waive their rights due to speculation opposed to substantial evidence. These courts
remain linked to with the Supreme Court, due to the higher level of court cases heard within the
setting. For example Liberty Island, brought about a controversy as to which state the Statue of
Liberty belong to New York or New Jersey (The New Jersey Society of Professional Land Surveyors,
2016).
Appellate Jurisdiction: consist of the judicial system having the authority to observe the evidence in
the court setting to seek out fault. The goal/objective here is to acknowledge those individuals
responsible for wrongdoings, mistakes, and failure to comply with the law. The Court of Appeal
served final verdict in the case of Reed v. King. When analyzing the court of appeal, the court chooses
to side with Martin, but for various reasons that can t implement in the District Court. For example,

Windsor, D. (2001). The future of corporate social responsibility. International Journal of
Organizational Analysis, 9 (3): 225 256.
Duane Windsor, via the aforementioned article regarding the future of social responsibility, purports
there are three emerging alternatives or competitors to responsibility: (1) an economic conception of
responsibility; (2) global corporate citizenship; and (3) stakeholder management practices (pg. 225).
Windsor first provides a historical reflection of social responsibility beginning in the Progressive Era

Carroll s pyramid model inspired debate between how people ought to behave and how people are
likely to behave and that behavior may come to dominate theory by appeal to the desirability of
material outcomes (pg. 235). The historical reflection Windsor provided led him to his thesis of the
three emerging alternative or competitors to responsibility. Economic conception of responsibility,
emerging alternative #1, links wealth and social welfare. By definition, organizations that do not focus
on financial profits are labeled not for profit organizations. Windsor s second cited emerging
alternatives to responsibility focuses on recent movement involving global corporate citizenship. He
explains this alternative as a marriage of societal expectations of corporations to their community and
management obligations to their firm. The more powerful and wealth the firm, the greater that firm s
responsibilities to neighbors and the community must be (pg. 242). Windsor s third emerging
alternative is regarding stakeholder management practices. Management psychologies vary widely
amongst theorists yet revolve around prioritization of profits.
Corporate social responsibility seems to be a topic needing additional research and discussion. As a
former law enforcement office, laws and regulation make sense to me. Since I was a young child, I

Compare And Contrast Shopping Online Vs Shopping
As a tool available to a fairly wide public, the internet is only twenty years old, but it is already the
key catalyst of the most extensive and fastest technological revolution in history. The internet, the
single most powerful agent of change in recent history, In the words of Arthur.C Clarke, any
sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic, ( Quotations Page: Quote from
Arthur C. Clarke, n.d.)The rapid pare and reach of the change wrought by the internet indeed has a
touch of magic about them. There are two main ways to go shopping in our daily lives. One is
shopping online; another is shopping at the real shop. As a matter fact, shopping online is a new way
for people to go shopping. Online shopping is better than shopping at the shop in some ways in my
opinion, shopping online has a strong advantage; it helps you save your money in many ways,
provides comfort, open standards for communicating data and information between computer. ... Show

In views of product price some famous brands have good things that everyone likes; sometimes we
cant afford the shoe at the store. However, you can find the same thing that has a lower price on the
internet. Maybe you can find more things you like. Shopping online doesn t have many consumers to
serve; most of products have lower prices then a shops products, so you can save your money by
shopping online. But the hidden secret pot the internet is the emergence of warehouse club sites that
take away all the fluff, and if you are willing to buy in a little bit larger quantities, they truly save you
money. Sure, it may look intimidating, but ware house clubs can save you some services money.

Joan Didion On Keeping A Notebook
While it s a rather misleading title, the essay On Keeping a Notebook by Joan Didion doesn t talk
about how to keep a notebook, but rather why you should. She expresses her belief that a notebook is:
...something private, about bits of the mind s string too short to use, an indiscriminate and erratic
assemblage with meaning only for its maker (Didion, 87) . Which, in other words, means a notebook s
contents are information, often small bits , that would only make sense, or have meaning, to the person
who wrote it. Throughout the essay, Didion describes multiple random things that mean nothing to
her, but were emotionally significant at the time she wrote them. Personally, I thought the tone used
for both telling and talking about those memories seemed very nostalgic to her. Journals can be a way
to remember who we were in the past, how we had thought and things we ve done. Over time we
forget things, and keeping a journal helps us relive both significant and insignificant events in our life
that otherwise would have been blurred, or forgotten over the course of our lives. ... Show more

and surprise us, come hammering on the mind s door at 4 a.m. of a bad night and demand to know
who deserted them, who betrayed them, who is going to make amends. (Didion, 88) . I think is very
relatable to most people, as I can remember many a night, and day for that matter, where my mind

The Pros And Cons Of Heterosexuality
We are socialized to assumed heterosexuality is normal because it is all around us. Most of us are born
into a heterosexual, mom and dad relationship. As we grow up looking up to them it becomes normal
to see heterosexuality. Throughout my upbringing, my parents did not talk about homosexuality much.
All of my family members throughout at least the first two generations identify as straight, so it was
not something I grew up being around. Therefore it was never talked about in a positive or negative
way. In biology class and church we are taught that we are on this earth to reproduce and contribute to
the renewal of civilization. To do this the normal way you would get married and heterosexually
reproduce. It is taught that the only natural way to have sex is inserting a penis into a vagina.
Institutions reinforce this by continuing to teach children throughout their education that man and
woman are the normal thing. This belief came from the fact that a female egg cannot turn into a fetus
unless it is fertilized by a male sperm. The cycle of heterosexual socialization promotes heterosexism
because it is promoted as the right thing to do throughout all forms of media and teachings. When all
you see as a positive thing growing up is heterosexual, married couples with biological kids you are
conformed to think that is the only way to find happiness. Heteronormative socialization excludes
many different types of people such as couples who cannot conceive their own

Incident Background On September 24, 2010, a laptop was stolen from an unlocked Urology office at
the Henry Ford Health Systems hospital. The laptop did contain password protection software;
however, it may not have been enough to permit access if the thief had advanced knowledge in
computers. Additionally, the information stored on the laptop did not include social security or health
insurance information, but instead held patient names, medical record numbers, dates of birth,
telephone numbers, e mail addresses, and treatment and doctor visits (Moscaritolo, 2010, p. 1). It is
unknown how many records were contained on the laptop, but all records were related to prostate
services that were provided during an eleven year span.
Reaction to Incident Once it was revealed that the laptop was missing, Meredith Phillips, the chief
privacy officer for the hospital, notified all involved patients by letter and offered each of them a free
one year credit monitoring service (Henry Ford Health System, 2010). The hospital also established a
telephone help line that addressed patient concerns (toll free), as well as initiated an internal
investigation to determine if appropriate security measures were followed. Furthermore, all employees
were re trained in security procedures and

Examples Of Andrew Jackson Evil
Andrew Jackson had a plethora of innumerable downs and ups throughout his life and presidency like
saving a Native American child and also the cause of an assassination of a tribe of Native Americans. I
do believe that the actions throughout his life have lead me to come to the conclusion that he is a
villian. However, many do believe that all the goods actions Jackson did overweigh the villainous
deeds. The examples of Jackson s evil and criminal deeds he did are as follows. Jackson to the people
was considered a self centered, hostile, and uncaring person. A certain event when Jackson was hostile
was when he decided to assassinate a whole tribe of Native Americans. Jackson decided to be
uncaring by thinking that the government was corrupt ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jackson was self centered by not listening to his advisors. He would make decisions by what he
thought was best for the people and the state. These examples are just a small piece of Jackson s evil
ways. Jackson did a multitude of evil things, but the ones that we remembered are how he decided to
treat and handle the Indians, his decision to make the spoil system, and how he was self centered.
When handling the Indians, Jackson was very cruel. He despised the Indians so much he made an act
called the Indian Removal Act. Which forced the Indians to leave the entire country. He told them that
they would be removed either willingly or by force. The Indians decided not to leave. So he told
soldiers to capture them so they could be removed by force. This lead to the crisis of the Trail Of
Tears. Along the way of the trail 4,000 died from the hostile and horrible conditions of disease and
exhaustion. Also, he had wooden structures that were made for the Indians to stay in. These structures
were unhealthy and unsanitary. There were no doors or windows. So the cold air would blow into the
houses and cause people to become sick and die. One of Jackson s soldiers said this This is the
cruelest work I have ever done. Jackson s was a big

The Three Concepts Of Donald Davidson s Anomalous Monism
Donald Davidson s Mental Events, challenges how we discuss mind body interactions. The thesis
presented by Davidson, is that of Anomalous Monism, which attempts to answer the causality of
mental and physical events. Differing from forms of the more common Dualism, Davidson accepts
monism as the best way to describe the mind body relationship. Meaning he accepts token identity and
rejects type identity. Davidson s argument consists of three key principles. The first being the
Principle of Causal Interaction which states that at least some mental events interact causally with
physical events. The second is the Principle of the Nomological Character of Causality, where there is
causality there must be law (Deterministic law). The third is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Essentially, he is saying that the mental physical relationship is dependent on an identity that is not
connected by psycho physical laws but on the properties of the two terms. Thus, The Principle of
Causal Interaction states that at least some mental events interact causally with physical events.
Therefore, the principle is saying that some mental events do not causally interact with physical ones,
which differentiates Anomalous monism from other theories on psycho physical causation.
The Principle of the Nomological Character of Causality, is Davidson s second principle for
Anomalous monism. As we review the next two principles we will run into many seemingly
contradicting points that can be argued in favor anEd against Davidson s Anomalous monism. The
second principle states that, where there is causality, there must be law: events related as cause and
effect fall under strict deterministic laws. Right away we can recognize the contradiction with the first
principle of causal interaction. According to the first principle of casual interaction there are no
psycho physical laws in which we can define mental and physical term, but in the second principle it
relies on strict deterministic laws. The principles appear to begin to contradict each other but Davidson
depend on his specific explanations to make sense of his seemingly opposing

sitting at a table laughing hysterically at a joke. The joke involved the three words Sad Bacon Legs ,
Brian didn t understand but to a lot of people of the audience they would think that three word are
hilarious. Another funny part in the commercial was when Spuds gave Brian the fedora to wear to the
party, but took it back because it was not working. The country had recently gone through a faze,
where fedora s were in style, but quickly fallen out of style. It was about as quick as in the
commercial. The commercial had made the audience feel sympathy towards Brian because he was not
there with his friends. He wasn t there with the inside jokes, or with the trivia night were he knew the
answer. Within the story line of this commercial there is a common story most people could see. The
story starts out with Brian in his house with a ghost that appears out of nowhere. Then to the past
about a week ago, to a couple days forward, then finally back to the present time. A lot of people can
see this is a parody of the Christmas Carol. The story went well with the commercial, because it made
it emotionally appealing and it was fun to watch. The story also had small twists in it like when Spuds

Teenage Curfew Essay
Having a teenage curfew is ineffective and useless. Many people argue that the curfews are necessary
because it will keep young people out of trouble. They also say that teenagers are more likely to get in
trouble late than they would during daylight. Teens are looked at as the age group that causes the most
trouble, and society targets them when it comes to matter for crime, however many people believe that
teens are responsible for a large percentage of crimes and that having a curfew in effect will help
lower crime rates. I disagree with this because I don t think teenagers should be forced to follow a
ridged time schedule because of a curfew. Juvenile crime is a major problem in today s society,

Teen curfews discriminate against young minorities and violate the rights of minors, also I think that
teen curfews confine all young teens based on actions of a small percentage of our population.
Curfews are often needed to prevent teens from getting into trouble late at night and many people
argue if parents should be held responsible for this. I understand many parents set up rules and other
restrictions for their teens to follow, but I don t think parents should take the liability on what their
child is doing. These rules are usually given in addition to control, protect, and teach their teen in
order for them to know what s right from wrong. In other states, parents are held responsible for their
child s actions. If they let their children out past midnight, they could be fined up to $75 for the first
offense. The only way minors could stay out after midnight is if they are accompanied by a parent or
guardian over twenty one years old. Many public places such as the mall have banned children from
hanging out after a certain time and I think the problem with this is where will it send the children.? If
they can t go to the mall to hangout they are going to end up in a abounded place or basement
somewhere drinking because there is nothing else to do. Although, other people view

November 30, 2013 Floyd B. McKissick Sr. was a veteran of World War II and a pioneer in the
integration of higher education in North Carolina. In the summer of 1951, he was admitted to the
University of North Carolina, becoming one of the first African American students to attend UNC
Law School. While being a key participant in the integration of UNC law school, McKissick also took

city which we were regularly fighting every day, as it related to blacks in a southern city where
segregation was prevalent. 9 McKissick continued to participate in protests such as the the Journey of
Reconciliation, an early freedom ride challenging segregation in interstate transportation, and later in
the desegregation of UNC Law School.10
In 1939, McKissick sought a degree at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia.11 After a year in
Atlanta, McKissick went to work on a tobacco farm in Connecticut. I worked around, during the

Setting up a simple system for motivating employees to higher levels of performance and achievement

Essay on Marriage in the Victorian Age
Many people believe that marriage is important in this day and age, but it holds little significance
compared to the importance of marriage in the Victorian era. In the Victorian era women were to get
married to a man of the same or a better social status, be good wives, and be a mother to her husband s
children. Very few marriages started with love, but a woman s life is not complete without being
married. Over time, the role of married women has evolved a great deal and they now have rights and
privileges. John Stuart Mill was one of the great thinkers of the Victorian era, and his essay The
Subjection of Women tells how few privileges women had and that they were slaves to their husbands.

Feminists ought to get a good whipping. Were woman to unsex themselves by claiming equality with
men, they would become the most hateful, heathen and disgusting of beings and would surely perish
without male protection (Moore).
There are many different reasons why women got married in the Victorian era. First and foremost was
due to the lack of education. Women were usually uneducated or were taught only basic
responsibilities. If a woman had too much education, Victorians thought that it would weaken their
womb and deform their bodies (Moore). From early childhood, girls were taught that they should get
married and have children when they get older (Hamilton). The little education that women got was
received mostly at home. There were some boarding schools, but there was no university for women
to attend. The studies that a girl would learn were French, drawing, dancing, music, and how to use
globes. If the boarding school was interested in teaching any practical skills, girls would learn plain
sewing as well as embroidery, and accounts. Through knowledge and education a woman could have
had a better sense of self worth and pride. On the contrary, boys were well educated at home by a tutor
until they were old enough to attend public

How Far Are The Speckled Band And Lamb To The Slaughter Typical Of
Murder Mysteries? How Are The Stories The Same And How Are They

Murder mystery usually means where there is a murder involving money, love or revenge. The victim
s friend or a family member goes to a detective and tells them what they know about the murder and
the suspects and where they were, and what they were doing at that time.
There are a lot of famous detectives in books, TV and video for example; Sherlock Holmes, Jonathon

I also studied The Three Garridebs in which there is no murder, which is very weird even though it is a
murder mystery, there is a mystery but it is connected to money. There is no victim in it but the villain
is the main character and he is very cunning and Conan Doyle makes him come out as the victim the
one who needs help when he doesn t and the main setting is in Birmingham and Conan Doyle doesn t
describe it.
The similarities are that both the detectives are male and each had partners. The motive of the murder
in Lamb to the Slaughter is anger and in The Speckled Band it is money. The murder in the Lamb to
the
Slaughter involves an unusual murder weapon, a frozen leg of lamb.
One of the detectives, Sherlock Holmes is a professional and doesn t trust anyone or anything and
investigates extremely thoroughly. The other detective doesn t do his job well; he drinks on the job,
and consumes the meal, which is the evidence. One of the villains is Mary
Maloney, who wasn t expecting to kill her husband, it was just unfortunate that he said something to
make her really mad. The other villain, Dr Grimesby Roylott wants all the money to himself so he
kills Julia and attempts to kill Helen.
These Stories are different because of the weapons; a leg of lamb and a snake and also the language is
very old and archaic in The Speckled
Band . But in other respects they are similar to ones I have heard

Oprah Winfrey Leadership Analysis
Oprah Winfrey has a way with connecting with people. This leader implements several different
strategies to achieve and gain her success. Therefore, when Oprah was airing her television show, she
would give the audience gifts, such as, prior to Christmas, and give the audience her favorite items
from her Christmas list. Oprah is no stranger of giving because everyone went home with nice and
occasionally expensive gifts like UGG Boots, because Its appears evidential that Oprah plays a vital
role in their spike in company sells and marketing for this company because this is where many
consumers first saw these items, on the Oprah Winfrey Show. Oprah believes and listens to her
followers, because she knew the majority of the latest trends, because Oprah is respected in our
society, she could probably convince anyone to purchase anything that she suggests. Therefore,
consumer power is a major tactic that Oprah implement in her leadership skills. Listening to your
followers is vital because these are the people that up and personal with the items and products.
Therefore, sharing ideas, listening, and receiving feedback is detrimental for any business because it s
important that all followers feel that they are apart of an organization. However, some business leaders
are not willing and open to hear the ideals of the followers and only feel that they are the person that
support majority of the company s decisions and in majority of analogous cases, these people or their

The Beautiful University City of Cambridge
The beautiful city of Cambridge has an enviable reputation as one of the world s greatest universities
as well as being an agreeable place to live and work. The inhabitants enjoy low unemployment, a
cluster of good schools and plenty of green spacious parkland. The river Cam provides a focal point in
the summer with its flotilla of punts gliding around gentle bends overhung with lush willows.
Two vibrant communities
Cambridge is a city of two vibrant communities, that despite a chequered past of friction and
confrontation now seem to co exist with ease. Both the students and locals go about their business,
almost independent of each other. Many scholars are completely unaware of the delights the city has
to offer away from the seclusion of their learned places and locals would be hard pressed to tell you
where any university building was apart from King s College Chapel and maybe the University
Library, with its huge soaring tower. Most central colleges face inward to courtyards hidden behind
castle like buildings, giving no clue to the enclosed delights (that can include a lake with huge fish).
Secret and enchanting places only accessed by gatehouses guarded by porters keepers of the portcullis.
Within the city boundaries are a dense collection of architectural styles ranging from medieval,
Jacobean, classical and Victorian. This city is an architectural historians paradise where examples of

The Case Of Salron V. Salomon Co Ltd.
PART A
The issue is whether Mr Kenneth Lay is liable to contribute to the company s debts or not.
Mr Lay is a separate legal entity under s.16 (2) Companies Act 2006. This is similar to the case of
Salomon v Salomon Co Ltd (1897) where Mr Salomon was held to be a separate legal identity from
the company. However, according to company law there are exceptions in which the court is willing to
lift the corporate veil. The court will lift the corporate veil where certain circumstances occur such as
fraud, improper or wrongful acts.
Mr Lay gambled away all of the company s assets and reserves which is a wrongdoing under s.361
Insolvency Act 1986. He knew that there was no reasonable prospect of avoiding insolvency as the
company was bankrupt and failed to minimise the potential loss to the company s creditors. Therefore,
s.214 (2) IA 1986 applies in this case and the court may declare that Mr Lay is to be liable to
contribute to the company s debts as this is a wrongful trading under s.214 IA 1986. This is similar to
the case of Brooks v Armstrong (2015) where the three principle conditions for wrongful trading were
outlined. Furthermore, he carried on business affairs with no intent to pay the company s debts and for
fraudulent purposes. This is an offence under s.993 CA 2006 and s.213 IA 1986. This is similar to the

When reading the title of Jared Diamond s, Guns, Germs, and Steels, the readers must initially think
how do these three connect? After starting the first few chapters they will realize that Diamond is
referring to the proximate and ultimate factors in that lead to the advancement of society. When
Diamond talks about proximate and ultimate factors, he is explaining the cause of European
dominance in the world. The proximate factors are the one that directly led to the European
dominance and the ultimate factors are the ones that let to proximate factors. I believe that this book is
referring to the Homo sapiens revolutionizing through the years, through the Neolithic Revolution
through agriculture and industrialization. From the beginning of the book, Diamond focuses on
answering Yali s question. Yali is a New Guinean, who out of curiosity would ask Diamond questions,
one of which was hard for Diamond to answer. That question was, Why is it that you white people

This chapter focuses on the meeting of the two societies and discusses the causes of one having a
greater dominance over the other. The Europeans led to dominance and beat with factors such as
horses, guns, steel weapons, ships, diseases, and politics. Referring to the title, these guns, germs, and
steels that the Europeans possessed helped them overcome and defeat the Incas, however it is because
of the ultimate factors they had. The Europeans unlike the Incas had a lot of domesticated plants and
animals, and it could be considered an agricultural revolution. They also lived in a better area, which
helped them develop the proximate factors. Raising plants and animals were the most important
factors of the civilizational differences of the past and present. Food production, industries, and cities
arose. Food production had led to the industrialization and the cargoes

Nt1330 Unit 1 Lab Report
In this section we first briefly explain the properties of a first order Delta Sigma modulated bit stream.
Based on these properties, we propose the P N pair method to process the Delta Sigma modulated bit
streams.
A Delta Sigma modulator converts an analog input signal to a Delta Sigma modulated digital bit
stream. A first order Delta Sigma modulator consists of an analog integrator, a one bit ADC, and a one
bit digital to analog converter (DAC), as shown in Fig. 2. In the Delta Sigma modulator circuit, the
analog input port and the digital output port can use either dual power supplies or a single power
supply. To avoid confusion, we use P and N to represent the polarity of the output digital signals. P
means a digital positive value true , while N means a digital negative value false . We use numbers to
represent digital or analog levels. For example, −1 and +1 represent the dual power supply level VSS
and VDD, respectively. 0 means analog ground, which is 0 volts in a dual power system. ... Show

When the input is positive, the digital output bit stream contains more P bits than N bits. There can be
consecutive P bits, but each N bit is separated by at least one P bit. Thus, there are no adjacent N bits
when the input is positive. Similarly, when the input is negative, the output bit stream consists of
single P bits separated by one or more N bits. A Delta Sigma bit stream toggles equally between N bits
and P bits when its analog value is 0. Delta Sigma modulation is a type of Pulse Density Modulation
(PDM), which means the output digital bit stream can be converted back to an analog value using a
digital moving average filter. Therefore, in a Delta Sigma modulated bit sequence ai, which has a total
of W bits, if there are n bits having the value N, and p bits having the value P, then the analog value y
of this bit sequence can be written

Britain’s Support for Widening but NOT Deepening the...
Over the last 30 years Britain has consistently supported the enlargement of the European Union (EU).
Both the former Conservative, and the current Labour governments have always presented favourable
rhetoric for the widening of the EU. This apparent consensus on European policy belies the fractious
nature of opinions in Britain over the future of Europe. The rough undercurrents of Britain s
contingent support for the intergovernmental vision of the EU reflects just how complex and
protracted the political discourse on Europe has become. We often refer to Britain as a single actor, but
references to Britain are simply a convenient abbreviation used to represent the dominant political
discourse of the elites, such as the political ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the central themes of the EU debate revolves around the issue of national sovereignty. The
European project has always involved, to a certain extent, the relinquishing of some national
sovereignty, but in trying to persuade Europe s established nations to cede powers to a European
centre, often without the consultation of the general public, has created a growing eurosceptic
backlash, a narrative that has been well received in Britain.
Many of Europe s founding fathers (such as Monnet and Schumann) shared a federalist vision for
Europe. They hoped for a European polity which would cooperate for the greater good, above the
national divisions that had caused such calamity in the recent past. Convinced in that a strong
supranational body, with the ability to make executive decisions, was vital for peace and prosperity
that goes beyond what can be achieved with treaties between nations (Ash 2005). The eurosceptics
agree about the value of cooperation in many areas, but see this best achieved through
intergovernmental decision making, with governments from various nations negotiating in their own
country s interest. They are sceptical about a supranational style organisation, often because they see
this as an intrusion into a nation states sovereignty (Ash 2005). British Sovereignty has always been a
touchstone issue and has often made the language of the debate

Employee Performance Management System Essay
According to Hyde (2004), performance management is a group of guidelines utilized in refining
productivity, handling workplace behavior, training and development of staff, and providing positive
feedback on a regular basis. A good employee performance management system entails components
that help employers concurrently accomplish goals and sustain employee satisfaction. Performance
management allows a business to identify strategic goals, and measure/manage performance against
those goals. It contains a set of incorporated management and systematic methods that deal with
financial and operational activities. Researchers have said for years that a strategy of laying off people
in many cases does not work, and may even backfire, in times ... Show more content on

Rock n Roll and Its Impact On Society
Music is ever changing. It moves at such a rapid pace people may not want to catch up to. The one
genre that seems to have changed the most is Rock and Roll . In a world of classical opuses, big
bands, and vocal jazz, rock was a huge shock to the world. It was revolutionary, but sometimes
unwanted. No matter, rock and roll has played a substantial part in defining our modern culture,
influencing things like individual music taste, political views, and personal expression.
A History of Rock n Roll Rock s deep influence over people is greatly affected by its intriguing

accepted once rock and roll was welcomed by growing audiences. This gave talented artists of
different races a greater chance of having their voices and music heard (America Rocks, 2016). The
1950 s. As this new form of music started moving into mainstream media in the 1950 s, Elvis Presley
entered the scene. Before Elvis, young women weren t often caught listening to rock and roll, but once
they heard his voice and saw his shaking hips, he was all they listened to. Because of Elvis, the rock
and roll industry boomed (Wallace, 2012). He paved the way for other artist to experiment and create
completely different sounds and styles. The 1960 s. When bands like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones,
The Animals, and The Who graced the American nation and sent shocks throughout the world, Britain
owned the sixties (Puterbaugh, 1988), in what is called The British Invasion . This was not the same
kind of rock and roll from the fifties. Still inspired by the rhythm and blues, sixties rock was packed
with raw emotion and controversial subject matter. It started as a remnant of the fifties sound that

In the film Paper Planes, the director, Robert Connolly, creates the concept of beauty versus winning.
The film Paper Planes tells the story of Dylan, a young boy who starts his journey off in Australia and

director explores the concept of beauty versus winning through the relationships that Dylan has with
others, through the characters and their influence on Dylan and finally through the metaphor/symbol
of paper planes being the beauty in nature and life.

though Jason had grown up in a well off family he had the influence of his dad (Patrick) an
international golf champion. These two character influence Dylan s actions and behaviors toward the
competition. In the beginning, Dylan eye winning was his goal so that he could connect with his dad ;
but Dylan becomes friends with Kimmi. Kimmi thought the exact opposite of that, and throughout the

John Locke s Views on Property and Liberty, as Outlined in His Second Treatise of Government
John Locke s views on property and liberty, as outlined in his Second Treatise of Government (1690),
have had varying interpretations and treatments by subsequent generations of authors. At one extreme,
Locke has been claimed as one of the early originators of Western liberalism, who had sought to lay
the foundations for civil government, based on universal consent and the natural rights of individuals.
[1] Others have charged that what Locke had really done, whether intentionally or unintentionally, was
to provide a justification for the entrenched inequality and privileges of the bourgeoisie, in the
emerging capitalist society of seventeenth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To achieve this, in the state of nature, Locke argues that all one must do is to remove that which is to
be appropriated from the common stock, for [w]hatever then he removes out of the state that nature
has provided and left it in, he has mixed his labor with, and joined to it something that is his own, and
thereby makes it his property. [6] Having once mixed his labor with something and made it his own,
others are hence excluded from all ownership.
But Locke asks: Was it a robbery thus to assume to himself what belonged to all in common? [7] For,
if all is held in common, then surely such private appropriation would require the explicit consent of
each and every owner before it is to be a legitimate action. However, Locke does not believe so, [i]f
such a consent as that was necessary, man had starved, not withstanding the plenty God had given
him. [8]
Locke does, though, believe that there are some limitations to how much one individual may
appropriate in the state of nature. Since he has already assumed as a natural law that all individuals
have the right to their self preservation, then the private appropriation of one individual must leave
enough and as

50 Simple Things You Can Do To Stay In Denial Analysis
Green living is one of the hottest topics in the 21h century since we are facing the shortage of
resources and the degradation of the environment. Waste sorting, recycling, light saving and so forth,
we regard them as basic steps of environment protection. However, in As the World Burns: 50 Simple
Things You Can Do to Stay in Denial , by Derrick Jensen, Stephanie McMillan, 2007, authors use
visual arts illustrates this way of protection is not on the right track. They pointed out that the earth
will burn out before we die out, and those simple steps we do to protect environment only reduce the
urgency but do not solving the problems. In The Politics of the Natural in U.S. History and Popular
Culture , by Noёl Sturgeon, 2009, the author discussed that advertising of popular culture would affect
negatively on the environment in future concern. Both readings use visual rhetoric to demonstrate the
current environment situation and its problem. As The World Burns plotted the background that in

Healthcare And Health Care Industry
Introduction: Over the past few decades health care industry in United States is facing three major
problems related to quality, costs and access. The health care expenditure in United States has
increasing drastically over the years and United states still ranks top in health care spending when
compared to other top nations in the world. Despite of having high health care expenditure, Americans
have limited access to health care, spends higher costs for the procedures and getting poor health care
outcomes. In a recent study conducted by common health care fund, it estimates that United States
health care funding is approximately two times higher than top 13 nations in the world. [1] This report
also concludes that despite of having high health care expenditure, health care costs in united states is
very expensive and outcomes are worst when compared other nations, which spends less gross
domestic product on healthcare. To address these limitations in health care industry in United States,
on March 23, 2010, President Barack Obama signed the patient protection and affordable care act in to
law. [2] Overview of patient protection and affordable care act The patient protection and affordable
care is a one of the most comprehensive and expensive health care reform act with an aim of
improving health care access, improving quality and reducing costs. There are several provisions in
the patient protection and affordable care act addressing these limitations of healthcare

  • 2. Catiline s Conspiracy There are moments in history that can almost mirror later events. Patterns can be found in the types of people that obtain power, how they obtain power, and what the circumstances of the state surrounding their rises to power are. There are also events that can seem entirely different from each other, and yet when looked at closely show real resemblance in specific ways that power shifts throughout history. Catiline is an example of failure to secure power. He raised an army of revolutionists who were found out before they could carry out their plan to murder hundreds of senators. Fidel Castro, who did achieve power later in his political career, created a plan to attack that Moncada Barracks which failed, in the end. Catiline s Conspiracy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Catiline s was considered a failure as it was never actually executed because Cicero was informed in a timely notion and took action to prevent it . Many of his followers were captured and executed without trial, leaving him unable to take up arms against the senators as originally planned. Catiline was then declared an enemy of the state. Of course, before the Senators could take real action against Catiline, it needed to be proven to the citizens that he was a threat to Rome and its people. Catiline gathered up troops to attack after he had fled Rome, but in the end was killed on the battlefield when fighting against the Roman army . Fidel Castro s plan failed as well, but unlike Catiline, he managed to at the very least start what he had intended. The 120 men that he recruited began their attack as scheduled, and fair number of men made it into the Moncada Barracks but there were unplanned patrol guards in cars and ended up detaining Castro and the rest of his men. Those who escaped went into the wrong building because they were confused as to which building was the target building, so rather than the barracks they entered the military hospital which was not the intended target. The men of Fidel Castro that had made it to the inside of barracks reached their objective (obtaining the weapons in the weapons depository) but by that point there was too much shooting because back up had already been called in by the patrol guards who had seen Castro and his army. In the end, Castro and his men ended retreating, but not before many of his men had died or been captured . Like Catiline, Castro himself was able to escape from the Cuban government and he was even able to avoid being put to death because of his relationship with the local Catholic bishop. Instead, he was put on trial like many of his men (who were also tortured) and was declared guilty with a sentence of 15 years in prison . These two events show an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. A Part Of Epistemology Is The Study Of Knowledge A part of epistemology is the study of knowledge. The study of knowledge deals with various questions such as: What is considered as knowledge? How is knowledge acquired? What are the limits of knowledge? (Steup, 2014). Knowledge can be acquired in two ways as there are two types of knowledge. One type of knowledge is a posteriori knowledge which is gained through experience. The other type of knowledge is a priori knowledge which is based on reasoning and independent of experience. Through the limits of knowledge, the problem of scepticism arises. Scepticism is concerned with the existence of knowledge. A sceptic is a person who doubts whether we have any knowledge. It has been suggested that we do not, or cannot, know anything, or at least that we do not know as much as we think we do. Such a view is called skepticism. (Turncellito). There are four types of sceptics: Radical, Local, Cartesian and Humean. A radical sceptic says that we do not and cannot have knowledge, knowledge is therefore unobtainable. A local sceptic suggests that a person can have knowledge in certain subjects and not in others. For example, I can have knowledge about my thoughts but not about the thoughts of others. We will learn about Cartesian scepticism through Descartes First Meditation. Descartes (1641) talks about how whatever he has considered true until now has come to him through his senses and these senses have occasionally deceived him. The Play Fences Rhetorical Devices Fences: how Troy s attitude changes toward death throughout the play In the play Fences by August Wilson, the main character Troy Maxson mentions death throughout the play. As the play goes on, he becomes older and more ornery. His attitude changes towards death. It goes from being a sort of mockery towards death to the realization that, he is losing the fight with death. Using multiple quotes, in chronological order, this change in perspective on death can be shown thru the use of imagery, personification and figurative language. The first quote which illustrates how Troy s attitude changes in the play is Troy: Death ain t nothing. I done seen him. Done wrassled with him. Repetition serves to hammer home certain images; images of the fastball on the outside corner, the few deep breaths you take before a swing. As the play goes on, Troy realizes his fight with death is a losing one. He has only a matter of time before his joking, cocky attitude abandons him, weak and helpless against the throes of the wraith that is death. Up until this point, he has referred to death as a person or being too many times to count. In part he does this to make the difficulties he faced easier on himself, much in the same way we embellish the stories we tell about ourselves to others. Therefore it was never talked about in a positive or negative way. In biology class and church we are taught that we are on this earth to reproduce and contribute to the renewal of civilization. To do this the normal way you would get married and heterosexually reproduce. It is taught that the only natural way to have sex is inserting a penis into a vagina. Institutions reinforce this by continuing to teach children throughout their education that man and woman are the normal thing. This belief came from the fact that a female egg cannot turn into a fetus unless it is fertilized by a male sperm. The cycle of heterosexual socialization promotes heterosexism because it is promoted as the right thing to do throughout all forms of media and teachings. When all you see as a positive thing growing up is heterosexual, married couples with biological kids you are conformed to think that is the only way to find happiness. The laptop did contain password protection software; however, it may not have been enough to permit access if the thief had advanced knowledge in computers. Additionally, the information stored on the laptop did not include social security or health insurance information, but instead held patient names, medical record numbers, dates of birth, telephone numbers, e mail addresses, and treatment and doctor visits (Moscaritolo, 2010, p. 1). It is unknown how many records were contained on the laptop, but all records were related to prostate services that were provided during an eleven year span. Reaction to Incident Once it was revealed that the laptop was missing, Meredith Phillips, the chief privacy officer for the hospital, notified all involved patients by letter and offered each of them a free one year credit monitoring service (Henry Ford Health System, 2010). However, many do believe that all the goods actions Jackson did overweigh the villainous deeds. The examples of Jackson s evil and criminal deeds he did are as follows. When handling the Indians, Jackson was very cruel. He despised the Indians so much he made an act called the Indian Removal Act. Which forced the Indians to leave the entire country. He told them that they would be removed either willingly or by force. The Indians decided not to leave. So he told soldiers to capture them so they could be removed by force. This lead to the crisis of the Trail Of Tears. Along the way of the trail 4,000 died from the hostile and horrible conditions of disease and exhaustion. Also, he had wooden structures that were made for the Indians to stay in. These structures were unhealthy and unsanitary. There were no doors or windows. The thesis presented by Davidson, is that of Anomalous Monism, which attempts to answer the causality of mental and physical events. Differing from forms of the more common Dualism, Davidson accepts monism as the best way to describe the mind body relationship. Meaning he accepts token identity and rejects type identity. Davidson s argument consists of three key principles. The first being the Principle of Causal Interaction which states that at least some mental events interact causally with physical events. The second is the Principle of the Nomological Character of Causality, where there is causality there must be law (Deterministic law). The third is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Essentially, he is saying that the mental physical relationship is dependent on an identity that is not connected by psycho physical laws but on the properties of the two terms. Thus, The Principle of Causal Interaction states that at least some mental events interact causally with physical events. Therefore, the principle is saying that some mental events do not causally interact with physical ones, which differentiates Anomalous monism from other theories on psycho physical causation. The Principle of the Nomological Character of Causality, is Davidson s second principle for Anomalous monism. As we review the next two principles we will run into many seemingly contradicting points that can be argued in favor anEd against Davidson s Anomalous monism. The second principle states that, where there is causality, there must be law: events related as cause and effect fall under strict deterministic laws. Right away we can recognize the contradiction with the first principle of causal interaction. According to the first principle of casual interaction there are no psycho physical laws in which we can define mental and physical term, but in the second principle it relies on strict deterministic laws. The principles appear to begin to contradict each other but Davidson depend on his specific explanations to make sense of his seemingly opposing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Women were usually uneducated or were taught only basic responsibilities. If a woman had too much education, Victorians thought that it would weaken their womb and deform their bodies (Moore). From early childhood, girls were taught that they should get married and have children when they get older (Hamilton). The little education that women got was received mostly at home. • 40. Nt1330 Unit 1 Lab Report In this section we first briefly explain the properties of a first order Delta Sigma modulated bit stream. Based on these properties, we propose the P N pair method to process the Delta Sigma modulated bit streams. A Delta Sigma modulator converts an analog input signal to a Delta Sigma modulated digital bit stream. A first order Delta Sigma modulator consists of an analog integrator, a one bit ADC, and a one bit digital to analog converter (DAC), as shown in Fig. 2. In the Delta Sigma modulator circuit, the analog input port and the digital output port can use either dual power supplies or a single power supply. To avoid confusion, we use P and N to represent the polarity of the output digital signals. P means a digital positive value true , while N means a digital negative value false . We use numbers to represent digital or analog levels. For example, −1 and +1 represent the dual power supply level VSS and VDD, respectively. 0 means analog ground, which is 0 volts in a dual power system. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When the input is positive, the digital output bit stream contains more P bits than N bits. There can be consecutive P bits, but each N bit is separated by at least one P bit. Thus, there are no adjacent N bits when the input is positive. Similarly, when the input is negative, the output bit stream consists of single P bits separated by one or more N bits. A Delta Sigma bit stream toggles equally between N bits and P bits when its analog value is 0. Delta Sigma modulation is a type of Pulse Density Modulation (PDM), which means the output digital bit stream can be converted back to an analog value using a digital moving average filter. Since he has already assumed as a natural law that all individuals have the right to their self preservation, then the private appropriation of one individual must leave enough and as ...
