Finding The Most Effective Insulator Out Of The Metal,...
II. Introduction
Problem: The purpose of this experiment is to find the most effective insulator out of the metal,
polymer, and cotton.
Background: By definition, an insulator is a substance that transfers heat poorly, meaning it traps the
heat of what it contains. (InnovateUs). A material is either an insulator or a conductor, which is the
opposite of an insulator: a material that transfers heat efficiently. What classifies these materials into
these two categories are their specific heats. Specific heat is the amount of heat per unit of mass
required to raise the temperature [of a substance] by one degree Celsius, (GSU). The higher the
specific heat, the more thermal energy must be used to change the temperature. Water, for ... Show

If someone were to touch a metal desk, it would feel much colder than a fabric blanket. This is
because the desk is made of a conductor, so the heat from the person s hand is transferred very quickly
to the desk. The blanket does not conduct the heat as efficiently, which makes in an insulator. Another
example of this can be found simply in a disposable coffee cup. These cups are made of Styrofoam,
which is a polymer, an insulator. Coffee cups are not insulated with metal, because metals are
conductors. In an experiment conducted by Adam Jay, in which two thicknesses of fiberglass,
styrofoam, and no insulation were used to prevent water from decreasing in temperature over time, 3.5
inch fiberglass was the most effective insulator, with a loss of 18.9°C over a span of 120 minutes. The
Styrofoam lost 29.7°C over the same time period, but the water with no insulation lost 31.5°C,
proving that Styrofoam is a better insulator than air, (Jay). In another experiment by Grant Bishko,
cans were wrapped in a different insulator: foil, bubble, air, cloth, and cotton. Of these materials, the
cotton was the best insulator, with a loss of only 8°C over ten minutes. Air, or no insulator, was the
worst insulator, losing a total of 12°C during those 10 minutes, (Bishko). So, it can be concluded that
the cotton and the polymer will be the best insulators during this experiment because of their high
specific heats.

Phaedra as an Example of Enlightenment Values
Phaedra, originally part of the large body of Greek mythological works, has been adapted, modified
and presented in new contexts in recent centuries. For example, following the original conception of
this tragedy by Euripides, versions of it have appeared in Latin, Italian, French, Spanish, etc through
the authorship of such great writers as Frencesco Bozza, Jean Racine, Miguel de Unamuno, etc.
Eugene O Neill s incorporation of it as a subplot in his Desire Under the Elms testify to the everlasting
appeal of the story. This enduring appeal makes relevant its study in relation to enlightenment values.
It is especially relevant to read Phaedra s life and events in the backdrop of values espoused by the
Enlightenment. The Age of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Disch, 1989) In sum, it is fair to say that the tragedy of Phaedra could have been avoided had she
applied more balance and propriety to her decisions. In the heat of passionate feelings, her mind was
muddled and in no state to let reason thrive. In this sense, the play can be seen as a testimony to the
validity of Enlightenment values and corresponding individual virtues. The most striking aspect of
Phaedra s behavior is her disdain for rationality and judiciousness. In a way, such behavior is sub
human, for it is humans who can exercise their will and apply restraint in their actions. By showing
that she was not capable of either, Phaedra had caused her own demise and that of the innocent
Hippolytus making her twice guilty. The application of Enlightenment values at crucial moments in
the play would have led to a different final outcome. Works Cited Berlin, Normand. The Secret Cause:

Harry Potter Fire
This month s SSR book I read was Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. The author is J. K. Rowling.
The copyright date is 2000 and there are 734 pages in the book. J. K. Rowling is a British author who
is known for the Harry Potter series. Her first book was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer s Stone,
published in 1997. The second book, called Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, was published in
1998. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, the third book, was published in 1999. The genre of
this novel is Fantasy. This book is different from other fantasy books because it compares the magical
world with the non magical, or Muggle, world. They also have mythical creatures that are only known
in the Harry Potter series, such as Blast Ended ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was what caused Harry to mature and face Voldemort. The first quote I chose was The fire in the
goblet had just turned red again. Sparks were flying out of it. A long flame shot suddenly into the air,
and borne upon it was another piece of parchment... And then Dumbledore cleared his throat and read
out Harry Potter. I chose the first quote because that was what influenced the plot the most. It cause
Harry to join the Triwizard tournament and it cause Voldemort to resurrect. This quote also created a
mystery aspect during the book because you want to know who put his name in. The second quote is
...he was going to die upright like his father, and he was going to die trying to defend himself, even if
no defense was possible... I chose this quote because it showed Harry s bravery. He wasn t going to
hide from Voldemort, but would rather die trying. My favorite scene was after he came back from the
graveyard and they were questioning Barty Crouch Jr. Professor Snape, Professor McGonagall,
Dumbledore, and Winky the house elf all stood with Harry, listening to Barty Crouch as he reveals his
true identity. He is given Veritaserum, a truth potion. It was my favorite scene because all the
questions asked throughout the book are answered in this scene. All the mysteries are uncovered and it
starts to make sense. The thing

Oppression In Lee Strobel s The Case For Faith
The Case for Faith, was written by Lee Strobel who at the time was an outspoken atheist. Strobel set
out on a mission to disprove the Christian faith. Along the way, as he gathered information he was
slowly convinced that there was truth to the religion. In result of his findings Strobel published three
books to help explain his findings. In this book he discusses objections that arise in the minds of
believers. Strobel discusses eight different objection, thoroughly explains them, and provides deep
information to help resolve these objections. Some of the issues that he touched on are tilled; Since
Evil and Suffering Exist, A Loving God Cannot, A Loving God Would Never Torture People in Hell,
and I Still Have Doubts, So I Can t Be a Christian. Within each obligation Strobel includes Bible
verses and professional explanations on objection at hand. The most beneficial sections are those
where he gives simple analogies that can benefit anybody no matter where one is in the faith journey.
The three parts that benefited me the most are; Since Miracles Contradict Science, They Cannot be
True, It s Offensive to Claim Jesus is the Only Way to God, and Church History is Littered with
Oppression and Violence. While there is so much information in each ... Show more content on

Most notable, Objection number eight is far shorter than most other sections. I feel more detail about
the types of doubt one might experience would add great value to section. Many people lack
confidence when it come to expressing their faith, and this would have been a perfect section to
discuss this. The second problem is in the way that the book is organized. It is written and organised
like a textbook and I found it hard to focus and read at times. I do not know how the book could be
organized differently and not take away from the information that is given throughout the

Private Peaceful Charlie Quotes
Based off of the novel it is worse for Charlie to remember times in his life when he was bullied or
harassed by others. In the novel shortly after Charlie s operation, Charlie is starting to remember
things that have happened previously in his life. He is gaining more knowledge as time goes on and he
is starting to understand what certain things actually mean. To begin with, in the book Charlie thinks
that everyone at work is a friend of his and whenever they laugh, they are laughing with him. This
however is not the case because in the novel Charlie is asking where he can go to learn and become
smart, and Frank and Joe Carp make fun of him. On page 27 it states She rote the name down on a
paper and Frank laffed and said dont go getting so eddicated that you wont talk to your old frends...He

Charlie believes that he is good friends with everyone at the bakery but that is certainly not the case.
Additionally, later on in the novel Charlie remembers a night when he went to party with his friends
and they gave him a lot to drink. At the end of the party they ask Charlie to check if it is raining
outside and they ditch him. On page 30 it states I dont remember how the party was over but they
asked me to go around the corner to see if it was raining and when I came back there was no on their.
This quote indicates that once again his coworkers are making fun of him and Charlie thinks that they
are being nice to him and friendly. This scenario leaves Charlie upset because he starts to wonder why
they left him. Furthermore, later in the novel Charlie goes to another party and Ellen is rubbing up
against him and makes Charlie feel funny. At the party Charlie starts to remember some memories
when he is a kid and it finally dawns on him that they are making fun of

The Making of a Legend
What does it take to be a legend? How far would one go to be a legend in something one enjoys?
Jordan Burroughs will go the the ends of the earth to considered a legend in the sport of freestyle
wrestling. He went from underdog to top dog with years of hard work, unrelentless training, and never
giving up on his dream to be a legend in mans oldest sport...wrestling.
In ancient Greek mythology, Zeus wrestled Cronos in a battle over the universe in which of course
Zeus won. The great event was celebrated by making wrestling the last event in the Pentathlon. Back
in Ancient times greek men wrestled covered in olive oil and naked. To win one had to throw his
opponent or knock him down, but ancient greece was not the only ones who wrestled. In Mesopotamia
Sumerian caves had drawings in them of wrestling that dated back at least 7,000 years. Over in the
village of Beni Hasan, Egypt historians found wrestling how to drawings in tombs.
In present day wrestling a new up and coming star named Jordan Burroughs is taking the International
Freestyle Circuit by storm. Burroughs is 25 years old and became the seventh U.S. wrestler to win
three Olympic or world titles. Burroughs joined Bruce Baumgartner, Kevin Jackson, Leroy Kemp,
Mark Schultz and John Smith. Burroughs and Smith are the only two wrestlers in U.S. history to win
back to back world or Olympic titles. Jordan is also hoping to join John as the only as the only
wrestlers to win all six Olympic and world titles in a 6 year

Ancient Greeks landscape design
The Greeks had the characteristics of harmony with nature, so the ancient Greek terrain and landscape
design to achieve relief, its planning and composition of the structure is quite free. The Greeks learned
to combine urban construction with natural landscape harmony and complement each other. Gardens
and parks are similar to living organisms that are closely related to the natural environment and
humans. Metropolis, theaters, forums, squares, seem to evolve from nature, with the surrounding
landscape.
In the ancient Greek landscape construction, strict symmetry mainly. Alleyways and parks are
decorated with fountains, pillars, vases and sculptures. The park has its origins here. In the garden, the
Greeks widely used cypress trees, fir trees, oaks, sycamore trees, palm trees, olive trees and other
trees, decorative temples and their homes. Here also built a ladder of the garden, where the fountain
arranged, planted flowers and trees.
The Greeks advocated rational dialogue. Specially designed philosophical gardens in order to carry
out philosophical dialogue. On the terrace there was an upright, wide alley, a space for sports, statues,
vases and fountains.
The geometric shape of the gardening of the ancient world turned into a blooming era for the world s

development of landscape design in Europe.
Ancient Rome
The landscaping of ancient Rome was developed according to the ancient Greek tradition. Using the
achievements of the Egyptian culture, the Romans created their park culture. Ancient Roman

Doll is the story of a young girl who try s endlessly for society s version of perfection, but she dies
trying to reach the unrealistic expectations that she is being force fed. Marge Piercy published Barbie

including Kate Millett, Gloria Steinem, Angela Davis, Marge Piercy, and the list continues. These
women and even men contributed to raising awareness for women and the rights they deserve during
this time period. Marge Piercy spoke about inequalities, stereotypical behaviors, and women s
unhappiness in Barbie Doll. In past interviews with Marge Piercy she has talked about her passion for
big topics she writes about including feminism, civil rights, women s health and abortion, mental

Childhood Reflection Paper
By taking this class, I have learned about the stories of our childhood and how they affect us in many
ways. They allow for children and adults to connect with one another while reading a certain story.
This allows both the parent and the child the ability to wind down from a stressful day just by reading.
I learned about how stories make us who we are and help us escape into a different reality. Stories can
elicit emotional responses from us, help us deal with certain problems in our lives, and give us the
chance to empathize with certain characters who are like us. Bedtime stories allow us to use our own
imagination which allows us to travel to various places without even moving an inch from where we
are sitting. I have also learned how bedtime stories from our childhood help us realize what we value
and what our morals are. Therefore, this class has taught me about the books of our childhood and
how it helps strengthen our imagination just by reading little black marks on a piece of paper. Because
of stories, they help us figure out who we are as a person. I have learned how they emphasize our
morals and what we believe in. They teach us certain values and how to identify whether something is
right or wrong. A Storied Childhood; The Impact of Stories On Children s Social And Emotional

Examples Of Fatalism In The Breakfast Club
Is It Really Fate? There are 19 major world religions which are subdivided into a total of 270 large
religious groups, and many smaller ones. 34,000 separate Christian groups have been identified in the
world according to David Barrett. Religion is just faith or a belief system that people have. A belief
system that dates back to early times is, Fatalism. Still seen today in popular movies, books, T.V.
shows and other works of art, fatalism is the belief that, all things and events are inevitable. Movies
like: The Breakfast Club, Dirty Dancing, and Serendipity all show examples of how fatalism is still
real. In the movie, The Breakfast Club, which is based on five different high school students, all
meeting each other in detention. It is significant that they all different stereotypes because it later
shows how much they are truly alike although they are different. If in the movie, if the director would
have used the same type of students it would not have had the same effect, how everyone is brought to
one place by fate. Even though they student pour out their guts to each other and realize how much

Many economic developments came about during the Hellenistic period, historians state that it was

Reading was the new outlet for my imagination and the stories I read fascinated me. They weren t too
unlike the scripts of computer games or the own stories I came up with on my own, but books actually
had the action and emotional aspects written out. And again, while my peers were reading things about
growing up, things that had morals and would teach valuable lessons (I remember one book about a
shoplifter who had to do community service at an animal shelter), I read real fiction: Jurassic Park,
Dragonriders of Pern, Lord of the Rings... Stuff of fantasy and science fiction that let my mind stray
from reality. Stuff that kept my imagination alive while I was being forced to learn multiplication and
the names of countries. Of course, my teachers encouraged me to keep reading, as long as I wasn t
doing the reading in the middle of their lectures. But it wasn t because of their influence, however, that
kept me interested in books. It was because I loved it. It put pictures into my head and made me think.
So I kept reading. But even then I knew reading wasn t enough... Yes, the stories were fascinating, but
they weren t what I wanted. Back then I wasn t sure what I wanted, but as middle school came to a

2016 Lectures On Human Evolution
CARTAApril 29, 2016 lectures on human evolution
The CARTA lectures on human evolution included lectures from Joshua Akey from the University of
Washington, Kay Prüfer from the Mark Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology, and Tony
Capra from Vanderbilt University. Each of the speakers talked in some detail about the interbreeding
of Neandertals, Denisovans, and modern humans. However, each speaker talked about a different
aspect of the breeding. Akey spoke about Neandertal and Denisovan DNA in modern humans and
their effects. Prüfer discussed the interbreeding of Neandertals and Denisovans and how it affects the
relationship of Neanderthals and Denisovans to modern humans. Lastly, Capra spoke on the
phenotypic effects of Neandertal DNA in modern humans.
Akey opened his lecture with a question: how widespread were ancient introgression events? He
sought to answer how long ago did archaic humans and modern humans interbred and how many
times did they interbreed. Akey mentioned that for a while there was a debate whether hybridization
even occurred between archaic humans and modern humans. This was an ongoing debate until fairly
recently when there was data that was obtained through sequencing the Neandertal and Denisovan
genomes that supported that archaic humans did indeed mate with other modern humans. He
mentioned that a problem with sequencing is that it can be hard to find a suitable specimen that has
been well preserved.
Akey and his student wanted to excavate

How Did Steve Jobs Become A Renaissance Man
A modern Renaissance man who comes to my mind is Steve Jobs. To me a Renaissance man isn t

He had the mental capacity to create products that most people depend on to get through the day. He
had skills that most people today don t have.
He went through high school but was a college dropout from Reed college. Even without a full college

With the gradual advent of manufacturing 4.0 however, challenges will continue to increase for
emerging economies. Over the last few decades, these countries have exploited their cheap labor and
natural resources to get global companies to manufacture on their land. However, with intelligent and
smart machines, the industry will require fewer, but more qualified workers to operate on
manufacturing lines. Lack of skilled workers in these countries will ultimately drive jobs back to the
developed nations like the US, UK and Germany. Businesses and institutions will need to analyze
where they could compete in a situation where previous advantages are gradually going away. Another
concern is jobs. Advanced manufacturing will require a highly skilled worker to deal with robots,
which in the years to come, will be able to make their own decisions. The workers will need to be
highly proficient at soft skills, critical thinking and even technical skills. In order to cope up with these
requirements, a complete revamp of the educational syllabus will be required. Challenges associated

Narrative Essay About Moving To Canada
As I walked to the parking lot where my mom had arrived to pick me up from school, my sister ran
out of the car, ran towards me and yelled excitedly, We re going to Canada! Having grown up in
Kuwait for my whole life of 15 years, I could hardly believe my sister s words. Going to Canada! I
had only been out of the country twice, each time just to vacation and visit family in the Philippines
where both my parents are from. I had always imagined what life would be like outside of Kuwait,
and now it was finally going to be real. My 15 year old self was devastated We were leaving the only
home I had known for 15 years. It did not take long for my sisters excitement to die when we realized
that we would be leaving our friends and everything we ve ever known and not returning for a long
time. Life in Kuwait for 15 years was comfortable and we were more than financially stable. Moving
to Canada without a job offer in place meant that we would have to start from the beginning all over
again. Goodbyes were hard but my parents encouraged us to see the joys of moving to a place where
we could start over and become accepted citizens of a country. Arriving in Canada, I experienced the
biggest culture shock of my life. Vancouver, BC was cold, wet, and loud. I had thought adjusting
would be relatively easy; I spoke English with a slight accent but I was very shy that it confused some
of the other kids to think I couldn t speak English. I did not understand the culture, which took a

Analysis Assignment- Stairway to Heaven
ANALYSIS ASSIGNMENT STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN
Through ineffective manipulation of structure, timbre and melody, Victor Lopez s short version of
Stairway to Heaven fails to convey the same mood and effect on the listener as the original classic
piece by Led Zeppelin.
Jimmy Page, lead guitarist of hard rock band Led Zeppelin, and composer of Stairway to Heaven,
once said with reference to the album this piece was released on, My vocation is more in composition
really than anything else building up harmonies using the guitar, orchestrating the guitar like an army,
a guitar army . Victor Lopez s variation of Stairway to Heaven unsuccessfully attempts to capture the

The introduction starts with every instrument playing and an attempted take off of the chorus,
contrasting the idea of one melody growing in Led Zeppelin s version. The arranged variation begins
in E flat major and modulates to D major. There is no clear melody evident at all throughout the piece,
as the number of instruments playing at similar volumes, makes it hard to determine. Ornamentation is
also a key musical flourish in the original, that lacks in Victor Lopez s version, as there is no guitar
and therefore none of the brilliant guitar techniques mentioned above, to make the music come alive
and become more than just notes on a page.
The timbre or characteristic quality of sound displays a great difference when comparing the jazz
arrangement of Stairway to Heaven to the original. Jimmy Page manipulates his guitar as the main
sound source with such brilliance, using a variety of methods such as pull offs, vibrato, hammer ons,
bends and slides (see Figure 2). The guitar is the central instrument and is held responsible for the
individuality and vividness of the piece as it holds the majority of the melody, and in particular brings
out the contrast during the bridge and solo (5:35). The entire piece depends on the guitar as it
continues to play throughout the whole song and is accountable for the most complex part, portraying
the creativity and ingeniousness of Stairway to

Spiratuality in Public Administration

Abstract
When in the workplace there are a few things that people try not to discuss and religion or spirituality
is one of those. It is often a touchy subject because of differing beliefs and opinions. Does spirituality
help or hinder productivity in the workplace? Will someone that is spiritual be a better leader than
someone who is not? I will explore two articles Spirituality and Public Service and In the Study of
Leadership, Spirituality Is the Unexpected Elephant in the Room. I will show how the authors relate
spirituality to leadership. They tend to sway to the opinion that spirituality is ... Show more content on

According to theories of public service motivation, public employees are public servants who are
committed to the public good and characterized by an ethic that is built on benevolence, life in the
service of others, and a desire to affect the community (Cartwright, Houston, 2007) . They put a very
high regard to public servants because of their commitment to the communities they serve and refers
to their character as spiritual. Public service motive assumes that those who answer the calling are
characterized by and ethical conscience that is based on the importance of the common good, service
to others, and social equality. They go on to study the motivation of public and private sector
employees and the rewards they sought. Public sector employees placed higher value on intrinsic
rewards while private sector employees valued extrinsic rewards. So it concludes public employees
place a greater emphasis on the importance of meaningful work and service to society. They do tend to
stay on the spiritual side versus the religious side when speaking of the traits in public servants. They
view religion as more community focused, formal and orthodox and spirituality being the exact
opposite. Spirituality tends to be more emotionally oriented and inwardly directed. They conclude to
say that individuals that pursue public service compared to private sector, for profit individuals are

Spaying A Stray Cat Research Paper
Tips For Spaying A Stray Or Feral Cat You Want To Adopt
If you take in a stray or feral cat, you may have difficulty getting the cat to adjust to indoor life. If you
let the cat continue to stay outside most of the time, she may end up having litter after litter of kittens.
Prevent this by having your cat spayed. You can find affordable places to have cats spayed, so even if
you don t intend to keep the cat as an indoor pet, you ll help control the feral cat population and
possibly save your cat from injury and health complications of being in heat and having kittens in the
wild. Here are a few things to know about spaying your stray cat.
Train The Cat To Get In A Carrier
You ll need to get the cat in a carrier to take her to a vet s office. You can partially tame the cat by
slowly getting closer and closer at feeding time. If you feed the cat in or near the carrier, you might be
able to lure her inside that way. If not, you may be able to pick her up and put her inside once she is
used to you handling her. Transporting a wild cat in a car won t be fun for you or the cat, but you can
feel good that you re doing the right thing. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Cystic Fibrosis Gene
Cystic fibrosis is an inherited autosomal recessive disease that exerts its main effects on the digestive
system and the lungs. This disease is the most common lethal genetic disorder in Caucasians, affecting

In order to determine the exact location of the CF gene, probes were taken from the nucleotide
sequence obtained from chromosome jumping. To find these probes, horse, cow, chicken, and mouse
DNA was separated using Southern Blot electrophoresis. Two probes were found to bind to all of the
vertebrates DNA. This meant that the base pairs within the probes contained related information,
possibly even the gene.
The Northern Blot electrophoresis technique was then used to distinguish between the two probes still
remaining in order tofind out which one actually contained the CF gene. This was successful because
Northern Blot electrophoresis tests RNA, not DNA. The RNA of cell types affected with CF, along
with the RNA of unaffected cell types were placed on a gel. Probe number two bound to the RNA of
affected cell types in the pancreas, colon, and nose (all CF affected cells,) but did not bind to the RNA
from non affected cell types like those of the brain and heart. Probe number one did not bind
exclusively to cell types from CF affected areas like number two did. From this evidence, these
scientists determined that probe number two contained the CF gene.
While isolating the CF gene

My First Goal As A Man Of Value
My whole life I have always wanted to be a man of success and a man of value. I had many goals
when I was young, and two of those goals are very dear to me. My first goal was to become a
successful entrepreneur like my father. And second goal was to come to America and get an education
from any university here, which I am currently working on. From my parents, I learned that I needed
education in order for me to succeed throughout life. Since I was a very young man I have always
valued and tried to get the best education there is. I come from a very strong business family, I have
always focused my interest for my career in marketing and advertising. My father owns his own
company, and he is constantly traveling and I am a person who love traveling, which inspires me to
follow that path.
Since I was young, I have been learning new things. These lessons were formal as found in academic
studies, and I had jobs, through those jobs I had additional training, personal learning, and in the
pursuit of my own interest and hobbies. Despite on where or how I got knowledge, how we approach
learning is very different to each individual based on learning styles. As very different individuals we
all learn differently. Some people learn by actually touching the subject, some by hearing, and some
seeing. Through this paper I will talk about my personal reflection of my learning style. Through the

Postmodernism s The Swan As A Metaphor For Love
Postmodernism is a very unique era within American literature. In previous time periods authors wrote
very structured eventful stories that would often relate to the most common themes of the time,
however Postmodernism completely defied this formula. In most cases Postmodern stories do not
have story arcs nor do they have common themes. At most, the Post era can be bound by very vague
similarities. Most of the stories are conveyed through streams of conscious, which is essentially using
an unedited snippet of someone s life to create a story. There are no inner monologues or poetic
speeches, rather they only showcase a small scale continuous sliver of life. The narration device
similarity is cut and dry, however this can not be said for the themes within Postmodernism. In the
vaguest of words, Post era literature can be bound within a common ideal of expressing the terrible
and disappointing aspects of life. One of the most commonly attacked aspects of life is the sense of
love. In most forms of art and media love is portrayed as a glorious thing so long as it is true. Love
can conquer any mountain and defeat any foe, however Postmodernism portrays love in a very
different manner. In The Swan as a Metaphor for Love love is compared to a swan. On the surface
swans are seen as majestic creatures, similar to how love is seen as a beautiful emotion, but
underneath the water swans are revolting creatures covered in swan shit and pond scum . This idea

Hitler s Story
Hitler became chancellor in January 1933. At this stage he was not the dictator of Germany. The night
of the long knives helped him to establish his dictatorship. However, there were other aspects, which
helped him extend his control.
As soon as Hitler was in power, new elections were called. In the middle of the Reichstag campaign,
the Reichstag building went up in flames. It was this, which allowed Hitler to increase his control over
Germany.
On 27th February the Reichstag caught fire. When they police arrived they found Marinus van der

dictatorship.
Now that Hitler had dictorial powers, he proceeded to extend his control further. Hitler banned
political parties. This law gave Hitler what he wanted a ban on the Communists and Socialists taking
part in an election campaign. The leaders from both parties were arrested and their newspapers were
shut down. To keep the peace and maintain law and order, the roamed the streets beating up those who

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky Revelations
Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, who was later also known as Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, was born in 1840 in
Russia. He was the first Russian who got an international fame due to his music in the classical
repertoire. Regarding our essay, we have chosen the song which is originally composed by
Tchaikovsky and then later in 1895, Ivanov along with Petipa revised the Swan Lake.
The choreography of Swan lake The Kirov Ballet basically focuses on is the Revelations and
Bacchanale. Revelation is the dance that I like the most, however, Baccanale is my least favorite
dance. To me, the dance symbolizes the parson s socialization in western civilization concerning roles
of gender. In the past era, there was a gesture that was separated from full embodiment and emotion,
but with the passage of time, those gestures become more recognizable and meaningful. People move
with the rhythm of the music, which is known as Dance. It is also known as art performance that
contains organized and selected movements of the human body. There are several kinds of dance such
as informal, professional performance, and ritual performance. The dance involves several moves of
the body with the music in the specific space to express emotions, feelings of joy or an idea to get
delighted by the body movements and also with the purpose to release energy.
Revelations
Revelations is my most favorite dance and it was first performed by the Alvin Ailey in American
Dance Theatre and is known as three section dance. The reason why it fascinates me a lot is that each
section of this dance focus and display distinct factors that the people (Africans Americans) affected
since the era of slavery and it is still present to fight for their rights. The theme of this dance is a unity
that is showcased in every piece that was controversial in America because of racial discrimination.
Pilgrim of Sorrow is the first section of this dance that is opened with a group of dancers. The dancers
are in harmony using their arms in alegato tempo to create angular shapes. The dancers constantly
moved and separated separately, but in the other step they would come back as one unit and become
coordinated where they extended their long arms upwards. Their hands in the air seem

Essential Operations Of Information Systems
The essential operations of information systems sustained by of critical infrastructure rely on the
explicit functionality of software applications supporting complex, interdependent, information

White American Bigotry
White Americans, who make a big share of policymakers, criminal equity professionals, the media,

It Is No Secret That Women Often Change Their Bodies In
It is no secret that women often change their bodies in order to meet the societal expectations that are
portrayed in the media. The patriarchy and the male gaze dictate the ideal female which is depicted on
television, in movies, and in magazines. Woman most often alter their weight in order to match the
small slim physique of models. Weight is one of the main aspects of the female body that the
patriarchy controls. Woman are taught by society that their natural body is not beautiful and that they

In society there is a distinct correlation between beauty and wealth. When food became more
accessible in the 20th century, the wealthy weren t the only people who could afford to eat and the
cultural expectation shifted from who could eat the most to who could control their food intake.
Because food accessible changed the societal belief in the ideal woman, it also changed the
relationship between women and food. The ideal woman has a cool relationship with food. Susan
Bordo writes in Hunger as Ideology, Undominated by unsatisfied internal need, she eats not only feely
but without deep desire and without apparent consequences. Women are not supposed to crave food
and they are not to over indulge. The perfect female eats not out of want but out of need for
nourishment and she is only to eat the bare minimum that she needs. When on a date a woman must
not order a steak and potato, but must ask for a salad and water. Oh and god forbid a woman clears her
plate, she must always leave food leftover to prove that she didn t need to eat everything. Society
expects women to not love eating but only do it because they have to. Women should not receive
gratification from eating but instead receive it through nourishing others. Men eat, women prepare.

and extremist tendencies. The ability to rationalize and interpret the desires of both sides of an
argument is essential in both higher order diplomacy and day to day leadership. Becoming a radical in
any sense blinds one to the perspective of an entire side of a spectrum, and turns them into a diluted
amalgamation of evil something to be destroyed, not discussed with. The only true outcome of
radicalism is either the complete destruction of one side or the a stalemate, in which no progress can
be made. Both extremism of culture and politics are equally dangerous, for the sake of both life and
economic policy. Moderation is not the opposite site of the spectrum of extremism, it is the rejection
of extremism at all, considering it to be a waste of effort. A push towards the middle, away from the
growing concentration of the extremes in all political and cultural spectrums is the most pragmatic
means of reaching a zenith of peace and

Access Management Project
Introduction
Access Management had been noted as a major milestone in security and technology. Many systems
such as Paxton Access Inc., Identiv, and Quantum Secure had sought to innovate and improve how
access management is used when individuals are allowed access to secured infrastructures. The
purpose of this project was to outline how Physical Access can be used to gain access to buildings and
facilities using Paxton Access Inc.
Background
The ICAM (Identity, Credentialing, and Access Management) lab supported the advancement of
access management to allow logical and physical access to many organizations (FCIOC FEA,2011).
For this project, the lab was led by students, faculty, and supported with products such as Paxton
Access Inc. and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Organizations emphasized the use of physical security to help enable the use of physical access
controls. It was reported that physical security became difficult to manage due to technology
becoming complex every day (Hutter,2016). It was indicated that organization often over looked
physical security until after a serious event had occurred. Per Hutter, physical security threats were
either internal or external. Employees were considered external threats when they gain access to
unobserved areas and were considered internal threats when their knowledge was utilized.
Organizations were noted to implement the use of physical security through locked doors, access
control systems (i.e. Paxton Access Inc, Identiv), alarm systems and many other important applicable
measures.
Physical Access Controls
Physical Access Control enabled control entry into buildings, parking lots, and many other protected
areas. For example, many organization demonstrated the use of physical access when employees used
programmed security cards. Security cards used in organization for access were noted to but known as
smart cards (David Solomon, 2014, p 154).

Chickfil-A Business Proposal
For my project, I will be creating the accounting portions of a business plan for a Chickfil
A restaurant.
I have selected this business for several reasons. Firstly, Chick fil A is the busiest restaurant I have
ever seen. It is the only vendor in the mall food court that requires waiting line dividers. The double
drive thru line wraps around the building most of the time. During peak hours, the parking lot is so
busy that it cannot hold any more cars. Although there are plenty of competing fast food options in my
town, including McDonald s, Burger King, Subway, KFC,
Popeye s and Wendy s all within half a mile of the Chick fil A restaurant, people will park in the
adjacent lot and walk across a busy road rather than go elsewhere for lunch.
Chick fil A s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to their website, they receive approximately
20,000 franchise inquiries every year and select 75 to 80, on average, to become new franchise
operators. Last year, when a friend of a friend opened a Chick fil A franchise, I joked that they would
be serving chicken and taking home the bacon . While I did not know for sure how much profit could
be made from a franchise, I could only assume, based on its popularity, that it was a very lucrative
business.
The story of Chick fil A began in 1946 when Truett Cathy, along with his brother Ben, opened the
Dwarf Grill (now the Dwarf House) near the Ford Motor Company Atlanta Assembly
Plant. In 1960, when his second Dwarf Grill location was accidentally burned down, Truett
Cathy was forced to rethink his business. His fried chicken sandwich had always sold well, but they
took a long time to prepare and were more expensive compared to hamburgers and fries. In
1961, he found a pressure cooker that could cook a chicken breast in the same amount of time it took
for him to grill a burger. He then sought to reduce the cost of raw chicken by purchasing boneless,
skinless chicken breasts from Goode Brothers Poultry Company. Although

Chernobyl Fiasco Research Paper
At the point when the term Nuclear Power or Nuclear Energy gets utilized for the most part the first
things that ring a bell for a great many people are bombs, obliteration, war, and distorted people.
Which truth be told are four things that happen the minimum in the atomic force field. Atomic force is
significantly more than just bombs and annihilation, bombs scarcely even take up a rate of the
aggregate sum of atomic vitality utilized as a part of the world today. Most the majority of the atomic
vitality utilized today comes as a part of the manifestation of generation of power. Atomic force plants
are in charge of 16% of the greater part of the world s power generation; which truly may not stable

The emergency brought about the departure of more than 336,000 individuals, and brought about 56
immediate passings, with 9,000 conceivable passings inside 20 years because of radiation
presentation. The impacts of this fiasco were enormous, yet it likewise demonstrated to us how
effortlessly this stuff we were playing with could turn on us and reason a disaster. Which is
additionally a foundation for concern today in another sense. With the greater part of the terrorist
demonstrations going ahead around the globe today it causes real concern in the way that an atomic
force plant is a simple focus on that could and would bring about much obliteration if it be threatened.
There is truly no protection against a terrorist assault on an atomic force plant, and ought to there be
one there is no real way to stop the massive measures of radiation from blasting into the air. It would
be completely cataclysmic, everything without exception inside a certain sweep would be liable to
overpowering measures of radiation presentation, and would definitely pass on. So you can see why
this is one of the fundamental driver for concern with atomic force plants today. Because of the
extremely flimsy nature of parting as a rule, not to mention atomic splitting, these are the primary
setbacks to the generation of vitality through atomic

  • 2. Finding The Most Effective Insulator Out Of The Metal,... II. Introduction Problem: The purpose of this experiment is to find the most effective insulator out of the metal, polymer, and cotton. Background: By definition, an insulator is a substance that transfers heat poorly, meaning it traps the heat of what it contains. (InnovateUs). A material is either an insulator or a conductor, which is the opposite of an insulator: a material that transfers heat efficiently. What classifies these materials into these two categories are their specific heats. Specific heat is the amount of heat per unit of mass required to raise the temperature [of a substance] by one degree Celsius, (GSU). The higher the specific heat, the more thermal energy must be used to change the temperature. Water, for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If someone were to touch a metal desk, it would feel much colder than a fabric blanket. This is because the desk is made of a conductor, so the heat from the person s hand is transferred very quickly to the desk. The blanket does not conduct the heat as efficiently, which makes in an insulator. Another example of this can be found simply in a disposable coffee cup. These cups are made of Styrofoam, which is a polymer, an insulator. Coffee cups are not insulated with metal, because metals are conductors. In an experiment conducted by Adam Jay, in which two thicknesses of fiberglass, styrofoam, and no insulation were used to prevent water from decreasing in temperature over time, 3.5 inch fiberglass was the most effective insulator, with a loss of 18.9°C over a span of 120 minutes. The Styrofoam lost 29.7°C over the same time period, but the water with no insulation lost 31.5°C, proving that Styrofoam is a better insulator than air, (Jay). In another experiment by Grant Bishko, cans were wrapped in a different insulator: foil, bubble, air, cloth, and cotton. Of these materials, the cotton was the best insulator, with a loss of only 8°C over ten minutes. Air, or no insulator, was the worst insulator, losing a total of 12°C during those 10 minutes, (Bishko). So, it can be concluded that the cotton and the polymer will be the best insulators during this experiment because of their high specific heats. VII. Conclusion At the ... • 3. Phaedra as an Example of Enlightenment Values Phaedra, originally part of the large body of Greek mythological works, has been adapted, modified and presented in new contexts in recent centuries. For example, following the original conception of this tragedy by Euripides, versions of it have appeared in Latin, Italian, French, Spanish, etc through the authorship of such great writers as Frencesco Bozza, Jean Racine, Miguel de Unamuno, etc. Eugene O Neill s incorporation of it as a subplot in his Desire Under the Elms testify to the everlasting appeal of the story. This enduring appeal makes relevant its study in relation to enlightenment values. It is especially relevant to read Phaedra s life and events in the backdrop of values espoused by the Enlightenment. The Age of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (Disch, 1989) In sum, it is fair to say that the tragedy of Phaedra could have been avoided had she applied more balance and propriety to her decisions. In the heat of passionate feelings, her mind was muddled and in no state to let reason thrive. In this sense, the play can be seen as a testimony to the validity of Enlightenment values and corresponding individual virtues. The most striking aspect of Phaedra s behavior is her disdain for rationality and judiciousness. In a way, such behavior is sub human, for it is humans who can exercise their will and apply restraint in their actions. By showing that she was not capable of either, Phaedra had caused her own demise and that of the innocent Hippolytus making her twice guilty. The application of Enlightenment values at crucial moments in the play would have led to a different final outcome. Works Cited Berlin, Normand. The Secret Cause: A Discussion of Tragedy. A long flame shot suddenly into the air, and borne upon it was another piece of parchment... And then Dumbledore cleared his throat and read out Harry Potter. I chose the first quote because that was what influenced the plot the most. It cause Harry to join the Triwizard tournament and it cause Voldemort to resurrect. This quote also created a mystery aspect during the book because you want to know who put his name in. The second quote is ...he was going to die upright like his father, and he was going to die trying to defend himself, even if no defense was possible... I chose this quote because it showed Harry s bravery. He wasn t going to hide from Voldemort, but would rather die trying. My favorite scene was after he came back from the graveyard and they were questioning Barty Crouch Jr. Professor Snape, Professor McGonagall, Dumbledore, and Winky the house elf all stood with Harry, listening to Barty Crouch as he reveals his true identity. He is given Veritaserum, a truth potion. It was my favorite scene because all the questions asked throughout the book are answered in this scene. Strobel set out on a mission to disprove the Christian faith. Along the way, as he gathered information he was slowly convinced that there was truth to the religion. In result of his findings Strobel published three books to help explain his findings. In this book he discusses objections that arise in the minds of believers. Strobel discusses eight different objection, thoroughly explains them, and provides deep information to help resolve these objections. Within each obligation Strobel includes Bible verses and professional explanations on objection at hand. The most beneficial sections are those where he gives simple analogies that can benefit anybody no matter where one is in the faith journey. • 12. Childhood Reflection Paper By taking this class, I have learned about the stories of our childhood and how they affect us in many ways. They allow for children and adults to connect with one another while reading a certain story. This allows both the parent and the child the ability to wind down from a stressful day just by reading. I learned about how stories make us who we are and help us escape into a different reality. Stories can elicit emotional responses from us, help us deal with certain problems in our lives, and give us the chance to empathize with certain characters who are like us. Bedtime stories allow us to use our own imagination which allows us to travel to various places without even moving an inch from where we are sitting. I have also learned how bedtime stories from our childhood help us realize what we value and what our morals are. Therefore, this class has taught me about the books of our childhood and how it helps strengthen our imagination just by reading little black marks on a piece of paper. Because of stories, they help us figure out who we are as a person. I have learned how they emphasize our morals and what we believe in. They teach us certain values and how to identify whether something is right or wrong. Each of the speakers talked in some detail about the interbreeding of Neandertals, Denisovans, and modern humans. However, each speaker talked about a different aspect of the breeding. Akey spoke about Neandertal and Denisovan DNA in modern humans and their effects. Prüfer discussed the interbreeding of Neandertals and Denisovans and how it affects the relationship of Neanderthals and Denisovans to modern humans. Lastly, Capra spoke on the phenotypic effects of Neandertal DNA in modern humans. Akey opened his lecture with a question: how widespread were ancient introgression events? He sought to answer how long ago did archaic humans and modern humans interbred and how many times did they interbreed. Akey mentioned that for a while there was a debate whether hybridization even occurred between archaic humans and modern humans. This was an ongoing debate until fairly recently when there was data that was obtained through sequencing the Neandertal and Denisovan genomes that supported that archaic humans did indeed mate with other modern humans. He mentioned that a problem with sequencing is that it can be hard to find a suitable specimen that has been well preserved. Akey and his student wanted to excavate ... With the gradual advent of manufacturing 4.0 however, challenges will continue to increase for emerging economies. Over the last few decades, these countries have exploited their cheap labor and natural resources to get global companies to manufacture on their land. However, with intelligent and smart machines, the industry will require fewer, but more qualified workers to operate on manufacturing lines. Lack of skilled workers in these countries will ultimately drive jobs back to the developed nations like the US, UK and Germany. Businesses and institutions will need to analyze where they could compete in a situation where previous advantages are gradually going away. Another concern is jobs. Advanced manufacturing will require a highly skilled worker to deal with robots, which in the years to come, will be able to make their own decisions. The workers will need to be highly proficient at soft skills, critical thinking and even technical skills. Having grown up in Kuwait for my whole life of 15 years, I could hardly believe my sister s words. Going to Canada! I had only been out of the country twice, each time just to vacation and visit family in the Philippines where both my parents are from. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The introduction starts with every instrument playing and an attempted take off of the chorus, contrasting the idea of one melody growing in Led Zeppelin s version. The arranged variation begins in E flat major and modulates to D major. There is no clear melody evident at all throughout the piece, as the number of instruments playing at similar volumes, makes it hard to determine. Ornamentation is also a key musical flourish in the original, that lacks in Victor Lopez s version, as there is no guitar and therefore none of the brilliant guitar techniques mentioned above, to make the music come alive and become more than just notes on a page. The timbre or characteristic quality of sound displays a great difference when comparing the jazz arrangement of Stairway to Heaven to the original. Jimmy Page manipulates his guitar as the main sound source with such brilliance, using a variety of methods such as pull offs, vibrato, hammer ons, bends and slides (see Figure 2). The guitar is the central instrument and is held responsible for the individuality and vividness of the piece as it holds the majority of the melody, and in particular brings out the contrast during the bridge and solo (5:35). The entire piece depends on the guitar as it continues to play throughout the whole song and is accountable for the most complex part, portraying the creativity and ingeniousness of Stairway to ... They put a very high regard to public servants because of their commitment to the communities they serve and refers to their character as spiritual. Public service motive assumes that those who answer the calling are characterized by and ethical conscience that is based on the importance of the common good, service to others, and social equality. They go on to study the motivation of public and private sector employees and the rewards they sought. Public sector employees placed higher value on intrinsic rewards while private sector employees valued extrinsic rewards. So it concludes public employees place a greater emphasis on the importance of meaningful work and service to society. They do tend to stay on the spiritual side versus the religious side when speaking of the traits in public servants. The Northern Blot electrophoresis technique was then used to distinguish between the two probes still remaining in order tofind out which one actually contained the CF gene. This was successful because Northern Blot electrophoresis tests RNA, not DNA. The RNA of cell types affected with CF, along with the RNA of unaffected cell types were placed on a gel. • 31. Postmodernism s The Swan As A Metaphor For Love Postmodernism is a very unique era within American literature. In previous time periods authors wrote very structured eventful stories that would often relate to the most common themes of the time, however Postmodernism completely defied this formula. In most cases Postmodern stories do not have story arcs nor do they have common themes. At most, the Post era can be bound by very vague similarities. Most of the stories are conveyed through streams of conscious, which is essentially using an unedited snippet of someone s life to create a story. There are no inner monologues or poetic speeches, rather they only showcase a small scale continuous sliver of life. The narration device similarity is cut and dry, however this can not be said for the themes within Postmodernism. In the vaguest of words, Post era literature can be bound within a common ideal of expressing the terrible and disappointing aspects of life. One of the most commonly attacked aspects of life is the sense of love. In most forms of art and media love is portrayed as a glorious thing so long as it is true. Love can conquer any mountain and defeat any foe, however Postmodernism portrays love in a very different manner. In The Swan as a Metaphor for Love love is compared to a swan. The choreography of Swan lake The Kirov Ballet basically focuses on is the Revelations and Bacchanale. Revelation is the dance that I like the most, however, Baccanale is my least favorite dance. To me, the dance symbolizes the parson s socialization in western civilization concerning roles of gender. In the past era, there was a gesture that was separated from full embodiment and emotion, but with the passage of time, those gestures become more recognizable and meaningful. People move with the rhythm of the music, which is known as Dance. It is also known as art performance that contains organized and selected movements of the human body. There are several kinds of dance such as informal, professional performance, and ritual performance. The dance involves several moves of the body with the music in the specific space to express emotions, feelings of joy or an idea to get delighted by the body movements and also with the purpose to release energy. Revelations Revelations is my most favorite dance and it was first performed by the Alvin Ailey in American Dance Theatre and is known as three section dance. The reason why it fascinates me a lot is that each section of this dance focus and display distinct factors that the people (Africans Americans) affected since the era of slavery and it is still present to fight for their rights. The ability to rationalize and interpret the desires of both sides of an argument is essential in both higher order diplomacy and day to day leadership.
