Case Study Carotid Endarterectomy
Carotid endarterectomy in Moyamoya disease: a case report
We report the case of a 55 year old female who was operated for stenosis of the right internal carotid
artery in the setting of Moyamoya disease previously treated with extensive carotid and cerebral
vascular reconstructions. The atherosclerotic plaque was excised and the right internal carotid artery
was repaired with bovine pericardium. The utilization of carotid endarterectomy in the surgical
management of Moyamoya disease is poorly described in the literature.
Moyamoya disease is progressive cerebral vasculopathy characterized by bilateral stenosis or
occlusion of the arteries of the circle of Willis that entails a poor prognosis without cerebral
revascularization. We report a case of severe stenosis of the right internal carotid artery refractory to
percutaneous intervention in the setting of complex Moyamoya disease.
CASE REPORT
A 55 year old white female with a past medical history significant for ischemic stroke of the right
frontal cortex, multiple episodes of transient ischemic attack, hypertension, and temporal arteritis
presented to the hospital for right carotid endarterectomy (CEA). Past surgical history was notable for
bilateral encephaloduroarteriosyngiosis, right superficial temporal artery to middle cerebral artery

Casana et al. reported the first case of extracranial ICA stenting in a patient with moyamoya disease.
In that patient, right CEA was performed, Moyamoya disease was diagnosed postoperatively, and the
left ICA was subsequently stented. To our knowledge, there are no other case reports of carotid
endarterectomy in the setting of Moyamoya disease. It is unclear whether this represents
underreporting or rather that severe extracranial ICA stenosis in the setting of Moyamoya disease is a
truly unique

The Doll House by Henrik Ibsen
THE DOLL HOUSE The Society above Individual Freedom or The Suppression of the Woman The
author Henrik Ibsen used the play to elaborate on the irony of the 19th century culture of restriction of
individual freedom and excessive adherence to societal norm at all cost without paying attention or
having recourse to the core values and norms that brings about individual happiness and freedom.
Torvald Helmer tried to elucidate the abnormality of seeking individual freedom instead of societal
norm when he inquired from his wife; Nora ...And you don t consider what people will say . The
society in Ibsen s A Doll House is seen higher than the individual person, for one to fit in he or she
must strictly adhere to what the society demands and not what the individual wants. Nora was quick to
express her frustration on the demands of the society when she replied Dr. Rank thus What do I care
about tiresome Society? . Even the eating of Macaroons was also forbidden by Torvald and Nora s
Father, Dr Rank could not hide his feeling upon the sight of Macaroons at Torvalds house when he
inquired from Nora What, macaroons? I thought they were forbidden here , Nora who is also held by
the claws of societal conformity had to lie to justify the possession of macaroons. The irony was
played out when the same Dr. Rank enjoyed the macaroons after Nora placed it in his mouth. Ibsen s
setting of the play also portrays a society where a woman cannot be seen to go against not only the
orders of her

The Soul In Socrates s Apology
Purpose
Throughout the Apology, Socrates explains how God chose him to explore the unexamined life. God
appointed me as I supposed and believed, to the duty of leading the philosophic life, examining myself
and others... (Apology 28e) He compares himself to a Gadfly that goes around annoying people in
order for them to assess their flaws. Most believe that their purpose in life is to achieve the highest
good prioritize, summum bonum. Socrates questions why the Athenians believe in attaining tangible
items rather than questioning the reality around them. Are you not ashamed that you give your
attention to acquiring as much money as possible, and similarly with reputation and honour, and give
no attention or thought to truth and understanding and the perfection of your soul? (Apology 29e)
Socrates tries to encourage everyone to examine their soul because ...the unexamined soul is not worth
living. (Apology 38a) Once we die, ...the body begins to decay and the soul continues its existence..

The lowest level is not being wise, but seeming wise, especially to oneself. During his trial, Socrates
explains his conquest to understand human wisdom and search to discover what the oracle meant
which said, [Socrates is] the wisest man in the world. (Apology 21b) He set out to understand what the
oracle meant by questioning the people who had well known reputations for wisdom. When he
interviewed them, he noticed that in they only appeared to be wise when in fact they weren t. Socrates
believed that they criticized him because he found the fault in their claims and harmed their
reputation. They didn t admit their ignorance but pretended to know what he did not know. Socrates
came to the conclusion that ...the people with the greatest reputations were almost entirely deficient,
while others who were supposed to be their inferiors were much more noteworthy for their general

Analysis Of John Hawthorne s White Whale
Nathaniel Hawthorne is a standout amongst the most productive symbolists in American writing, and
an investigation of his images is important to comprehension his books. As a rule, an image is
something used to remain for something else. In writing, an image is frequently a solid article used to
speak to a thought more theoretical and more extensive in degree and significance regularly an ethical,
religious, or philosophical idea or quality. Images can go from the clearest substitution of one thing for
another, to manifestations as monstrous, complex, and puzzling as Melville s white whale in Moby
Dick. A moral story in writing is a story where characters, articles, and occasions have a shrouded
importance and are utilized to present some widespread lesson. Hawthorne has an immaculate climate
for the images in The Scarlet Letter on the grounds that the Puritans saw the world through moral
story. For them, basic examples, similar to the meteor streaking through the sky, got to be religious or
good understandings for human occasions. Items, for example, the framework, were formal images for
such ideas as sin and contrition. While the Puritans made an interpretation of such customs into good
and severe activities, Hawthorne turns their understandings around in The Scarlet Letter. The Puritan
group sees Hester as a fallen lady, Dimmesdale as a holy person, and would have seen the hidden
Chillingworth as an exploited person a spouse deceived. Rather, Hawthorne

Griffins Text
The Truth about Our Secret
Susan Griffin s main focus in her essay Our Secret is on Heinrich Himmler s life. She hopes to better
understand how people come to be who they are as a product of childhood and adolescent experiences.
Through this process she hopes her readers can become conscious to the truths of their upbringing and
not only find their true identity, but have the strength and courage to change their destiny. Griffin is
ultimately interested in finding her own identity but has been oppressed by her grandmother to not
search inwardly. She therefore uses Himmler as a mask by examining what experiences shaped him as
a child to understand what may have molded her. Griffin concentrates on connections between people,

Although this is a key moment in Himmler s search for identity, as a reader we are not merely
interested in Himmler s personal story. The author fails to finish off the great thought with a
connection to her own life and search. Just as she has Himmler examine Hitler to find his path, in
writing this essay Griffin is looking at Himmler s journey to in turn evaluate her own. This quote
would perfectly tie back to the author and therefore be relatable by the reader if she would tie up her
loose ends. The reader is left confused as to why she doesn t elaborate after this key point and
wondering if the author even realizes that she and Himmler are going through the same process.
Griffin s essay had amazing potential to draw on the experiences of a man who s life went astray to
find out why this happened, what personal connections and lessons the author has derived from this
examination, and what the reader could do to negate these possible effects in their own or their

Essay On John Keats
John Keats Thomas Keats and Frances Jennings gave birth to John Keats on 31 October 1795 at his
grandfather s livery stable in London, United Kingdom.( Keats, John (1795 1821). ) His father died in
a riding accident when John was only 8 years old. As for John s mother, she died when he was 14
years old due to tuberculosis.( Keats, John (1795 1821). ) John had two younger brothers, George and
Tom, and a younger sister named Fanny. John and his brother s George and their younger brother went
to John Clarke s school at Enfield. Keats got guidance, encouragement and a strong friendship from

His handling of the theme is, on the contrary, strikingly abstract, which compounds the effect of their
inherent abstraction ( Kelvin Everest ). When I Have Fears That I May Have Ceased To Be is an
example of beauty, love and death as the theme ( Kevin Everest ). Keats uses this sonnet as a frame
upon which is soliloquize, a shape upon which to string his thoughts about death, love, art,
imagination, frame and writing all as a theme says another critic Bruce King ( Bruce King ). Keats
wrote this poem about having fears dying before people could see his poetry work says Bruce King.
When I have fears is a Shakespearean sonnet consisting of three quatrains, each of alternating new
rhymes concluding a couplet. Such as a rhyme scheme of (abab, cdcd, efef) and the couplet (gg)(
Bruce King ). The poem consists of a lot of vowel sound rhymes throughout the poem says critic
Bruce King. Throughout the quatrains of the poem the quatrains are marked by the semicolons after
lines 4 and 8, by the repetition of When I at the start of the first and second quatrain, and by the
repeated phrase And when I at the start of the third quatrain.( Bruce King ) Critic Bruce King says the
vowel rhyme romance / chance in the second quatrain has similarities to brain / grain in the first
quatrain while the nasal n sounds are alike in the poem. Therefore those are vowel

Music Appreciation
Music Appreciation Radio Report
Instead of attending a concert and writing a concert report, I decided to do the radio report. On April
24, 2007, I listened to the station WWOZ 90.7 FM from seven to eight p.m. It was hosted by Jivin
Jean and Neal. The theme of that session was the 50 s Rhythm and Blues. Because the Jazz Fest is
approaching, they decided to feature some of the artists that would be performing. In which they
varied from Percy Sledge to the Fister Sisters. The first song that they played was no other than, Jazz
Fest in New Orleans by the Fister Sisters. The lead vocalist of the group was basically singing about
the Jazz Fest. The lyrics of the song featured a lot of history about New Orleans night ... Show more

The next song was Golden Eagles Indian Red. It began with an Indian chant with other Indians
pledging in the background. They were saying how they were the Indians of the Nation. It had a live
feeling to it because you could hear the tambourines, Indian drums, and the Indians yelling in the
background. Charlie Miller s Piano Night 2003 featured only a piano and a saxophone. It was very
boring and off tempo to me. It didn t have a melody or much of a beat that you could follow. It was
just thrown together. Check Mr. Popeye by Eddie Bo was very outdoorsy to me. It had a live music
fest type mood to me. The man was singing about meeting up with Popeye and telling him to check
his spinach. The song didn t make much sense to me, but I enjoyed it. I liked Sea Cruise by Johnny
Rivers a lot. The man was singing/begging to take a girl on a sea cruise. It reminded me of the movie
Cry Baby a little, which is one of my favorites. I enjoyed doing the radio report, but I d rather do a
concert report. It was difficult trying to keep up with the names of the songs when they would
announce it. At a concert I would be given a program to follow. But my overall experience with it

The Origins of Occidentalism
To answer the question posed it necessary to first consider the development of, and what constitutes
the West. Once this is achieved, we are than able to discuss occidentalism. However, the concept of
orientalism, and what constitutes the orient, will first be considered as, arguably, orientalism provoked
occidentalism. Thereafter, the four key features of occidentalism, identified by Buruma and Margalit
(2004) will be discussed. Contemporary notions of ociddentalism, more specifically Islamic
extremism will also be studied; of must importance here is if, or how, Buruma s and Margalit s (2004)
theory of occidentalism aids our understanding of the perspective of those in resistance to the west.

There has always been opposition to the development of the west. Occidentalism creates a
dehumanising picture of the west, painted by its enemies. Buruma and Margalit (2004) state,
Occidentalism has its origins in the West. Buruma (2004) argues, contemporary Islamic occidentalists
are not fully foreign to the West they despise; many Islamic radicals borrow their anti western
concepts from Russian and German philosophy. People with little history and even less intellectual
capacity would have no idea why the hate and should hate the west, let alone understand the complex,
pluralistic nature of western societies and culture. (Buruma and Margalit 2004:48) To argue that the
main roots of anti western attitudes lie in the West is to belittle and underestimate the histories,
traditions and cultures of non western societies. Anti westernism has been rising over the past two or
three decades, it is currently closely associated with Islamic extremism. The Islamic contribution to
Occidentalism is a religious vision of purity in which the idolatrous west has to be destroyed (Buruma
2004). Buruma and Margalit (2004) argue there are four hostile aspects of the occidental view of the
West: a hatred of the city, rationality or the loss of the soul, an anti bourgeois attitude and anti
feminism. Those who dislike the west see it in similar terms as a machine like society without a soul

Essay on Sleepy Hollow Book vs Movie
The dominant spirit, however, that haunts this enchanted region, and seems to be commander in chief
of all the powers of the air, is the apparition of a figure on horseback without a head. Although the
movie Sleepy Hollow is based upon the book The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, there are also distinctions
which allow each to tell their own tale. Washington Irving s short story inspired Tim Burton s film but
did not limit it. The foundations of the two are much the same but their story lines unfold diversely.
Some of the similarities include the setting, characters, and plot points. Two of the many contradicting
ideas are the character of Ichabod Crane and the conclusions. The similarities and differences of both
accounts can be stated plainly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ichabod s personality does not quite relate precisely from the book to the movie. He is a self assured
smart man in the story that always knows what he is doing. Unlike his written character, Burton s
Ichabod faints frequently and never seems to know what he is doing. Ichabod Crane is two different
people in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and Sleepy Hollow. The conclusions of the book and movie
greatly differ from one another. In the end there seem to be one major relevant point. The short story s
main closing idea is Katrina did not choose Ichabod. Whereas the film s final note is the Headless
Horseman is gone and no longer out to kill. Ichabod and Katrina s fate together are not the same in the
book and movie. They do not end up together in the book but they do in the movie. Ichabod s future
also contrasts. There are rumors on what happened to him in the story, but mainly he simply
disappears after facing the Headless Horseman. Shown in the film, Ichabod survives his meeting with
the evil specter and together he and Katrina move to New York. The Legend of Sleepy Hollow the
book and Sleepy Hollow the movie s closure are immensely differentiated. Supposing that the book
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow influenced the movie Sleepy Hollow, both compare and contrast
clearly. They have similar core ideas but different versions of the plot and initiatives that go with that.
Irving s myth is a romance while Burton s

Essay about Descartes’ Cogito
Descartes Cogito It is the purpose of this essay to examine both Descartes Cogito argument and his
skepticism towards small and universal elements, as well as the implications these arguments have on
each other. First, I will summarize and explain the skepticism Descartes brings to bear on small and
universal elements in his first meditation. Second, I will summarize and explain the Cogito argument,
Descartes famous I think, therefore I am (it should be noted that this famous implication is not
actually something ever said or written by Descartes, but instead, an implication taken from his
argument for his own existence). Third, I will critique the line of reasoning underlying these
arguments. Descartes attacks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Descartes attacks the possibility of certainty with regards to the existence of small and universal
elements with the possibility of our thoughts being altered by an omnipotent deceiver. In paragraph
nine, he states, How do I know that he did not bring it about that there be no Earth at all, no heavens,
no extended thing, no figure, no size, no place, and yet all these things should seem to me to exist
precisely as they appear to do now. His point is that this omnipotent evil deceiver could create in our
minds an understanding of mathematics and logic that is at odds with reality, causing us to construe
everything wrongly. Thus Descartes ends this final and devastating doubt with the preliminary
conclusion that everything he perceives can be called into doubt. Descartes answers his seemingly
hopeless skepticism from the first meditation with the Cogito. The basic point of his Cogito argument
is that for me to either perceive awry, or even to doubt my own existence, I must exist. It is, as
Descartes says, I am, I exist is necessarily true every time it is uttered by me or conceived in my mind
(Med2, par3). He makes two arguments for the Cogito in his second meditation. Descartes arrives at
the Cogito through the notion of an omnipotent deceiver actually. He starts to question his own

Vikings Influence On American Culture
Scotland is located in northern Europe, sharing its only land border with England. It comprises the
northern third of Great Britain and the 790 islands surrounding it. Despite its high latitude, Scotland s
climate is actually quite temperate. Distinguished by the Highland Boundary Fault, the topography is
split into two distinctive regions; the Highlands and the lowlands. The Highlands, located in the north
and west of Scotland, are characterized by a more mountainous terrain that is difficult to cultivate. In
contrast, the lowlands, located in the south and east, are flatter, more fertile, and are home to most of
Scotland s population. Out of the country s 7.71 million hectares of land, 5.6 million are used for

Traditional dishes such as haggis, mince and tatties, and arbroath smokies indicate this. Mutton, beef,
and fish have been so popular in Scottish cuisine throughout time simply because they are the most
readily available ingredients. Dairy products are also widely used. These are provided by the heavy
grazing aspect of their agriculture industry, and their proximity to the ocean. Because of this, mutton,
beef, and fish are the main sources of protein in Scotland. Also, lipids are most commonly received
through the consumption of fish oil or dairy products such as milk. Products such as oats, barley, and
root vegetables, mostly potatoes, are also extremely common in the Scottish diet, for the fertile
lowlands and temperate climate provide perfect growing conditions for such foods. This means that
carbohydrates are mostly provided by potatoes and oat and barley products such as cereal. However,
in a health survey conducted in 2014, it was found that only one in five Scottish adults met the daily
recommended amounts of fruits and vegetables. This suggests that while Scots are well provided with
protein, lipids, and carbs, their diets may be seriously lacking in vital nutrients provided by fruits and
vegetables, such as fiber, potassium, and vitamin

Yellow Wallpaper Critical Analysis
The feminist theory is an ougrowth of the general movement to empower women world wide.
Likewise to the feminist theory the short story Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perems Gillmarn
exposes the mental state of women in the late 1800s, and perharps even of the author s own struggle
with society run by men. Additionally, the three main areas of study and points of criticism in the
feminist theory, likewise to the short story exist through, the diffrences between men and women,
power dynamics between men and women and the female experience. The short story Yellow

Cape Cod Erosion
Cape Cod, a little arm that sticks out into the Atlantic Ocean, is a popular destination all year round
but especially in the Summer for beachgoers. Cape Cod was formed about 18,000 years ago when the
glaciers started to melt, but how was it formed? It formed through a process called weathering and
erosion. Weathering is the process of wearing away or changing the appearance or texture of
(something) by long exposure to the water, wind, and even ice. Erosion is the process that takes the
results of weathering away by water, wind, or other natural processes. The sediment was picked up by
the glaciers and slowly eroded down towards Cape Cod. As the glaciers moved south, the warmer
weather began to melt the glaciers and they dumped their load of sediment to form Cape Cod. In total,
3 glaciers formed Cape Cod. The middle lobe retreated first leaving behind sediment that created the
middle part of the arm (the bicep). Next the easternmost lobe retreated and the sediment it left behind
created the upper part of the arm (Provincetown). When the last glaciers melted about 18,000 years
ago leaving behind an usual looking landform. Today, scientists know that the glaciers brought the
sediment because they are all different colors, textures, and all have different layers.
A big problem in Cape Cod is beach erosion. The first reason why the beaches are eroding is because
of rock jetties. Rock jetties that separate beaches interrupt the natural transfer of sand by the tides and
wind. The

Emotional Labor Professions
Emotional Labor is a person s ability to accurately analysis their internal emotion, decide if it is
compatible with the required response to a situation and then change their external expressions to
compensate for any differences or competing discrepancies. The Free Dictionary describes this as,
...the process of managing feelings and expressions to fulfill the emotional requirements of a job
(Farlex, n.d.). Some people are better at this skill than others. A person with a high level of empathy,
emotional intelligence, and maturity is able to find the correct way to look, act, and know what to say.
If you want to find someone that practices emotional labor you need to only look at the following
professions: emergency dispatchers, police ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Women seem to express a higher level of caring, concern (love of people), honesty, loyalty, and
conscientiousness than men (Battistina Costantino, 2016). Women may come across these traits
naturally, or maybe it is something that was taught to them when they were young. A woman may
have developed the skill while learning how to fulfill her adult roles as the family caregiver, diplomat,
and household manager/coordinator. When she entered the work force this skill would have already
been sharpened, ingrained in her demeanor (Battistina Costantino, 2016). There is an opinion that
professions that need a high level of emotional labor are filled by women and that these professions
are typically lower paying, contributing to the idea that women get paid less than men. I believe if this
skill can be taught to women, then a man can be taught if he hasn t already developed the skill. All I
need to do is look at professions usually populated by men, such as police and firefighters to know
they have it. These men hold back all their natural instinct and common sense to run away from
danger instead of running to it. They run to the scene to take control; to save lives, stop the criminal or
fight the fire. Also, as more women work in professions prominently dominated by men, such as
police officers, firefighters, doctors, judges, and politicians, so do men work in more dominated fields
by women, such

2011). At the same time, companies are seeking to better understand the extent to which social media
can and should play a role in customer engagement (Parent, Plangger, and Bal 2011).
Our knowledge regarding social media driven brand consumer engagement and what constitutes
effective social media strategy is only now developing. Although both industry and academic research
has begun to examine the role of social media within firm customer interactions, there is a continued
need for empirical investigation of usage characteristics and behaviors with respect to social media
and online brand engagement, particularly among younger consumers. Accordingly, our study
investigates the role of social media among younger consumers as they actively engage online with
brands spanning the product, service, and media sectors. We administered a written diary to fifty eight
individuals over a one week period in late Fall 2011. Diary data captured background information on
social media usage and recorded 406 discrete company respondent interactions across two primary
social media platforms Facebook and Twitter as well as email. Email interactions were included in the
study because this form of contact is part of the electronic ecosystem connecting consumers and
businesses and is complementary to social media usage.
Our study makes two contributions to the growing body of social media marketing research. First, we
uncover several themes characterizing online brand consumer

fright, and makes you want to run away or hide in your bedroom? Good, then you are ready to dive

Facts About Dementia
Facts About Dementia In 2013, there were nearly 45 million people 65 or older. The number will
continue to rise as advances in the medical field continue. As a result, it s important to understand an
important condition that faces many in this population, dementia. Understanding dementia will
ultimately help people determine whether they should consider a memory care or live in an assisted
living facility in Virginia Beach. The odds are most people will live well into their 70s, so it makes
sense to understand how dementia will ultimately affect a person s decision to live where. Of course,
these decisions won t be made by the individual. More than likely, a family member providing care
will ultimately make the decisions, but planning in advance

Schindler Motives
The quote from Talmud: Whoever saves one life saves an entire world in my interpretation means that
each individual is a representation of humanity. That every life counts. The fact that Schindler
originally hired the Krakow Jews for profit doesn t detract from his efforts to save them, originally
Schindler s motives were purely selfish he wanted to save them so he could keep his factory going and
obtain wealth. As film progresses we can clearly see that Schindler s motives have shifted, which I
believe the shift was caused by Schindler witnessing the girl in red coat being brutalized, though she
was innocent. We can see that he becomes more compassionate, and less self serving as his main
priority becomes to save the Krakow Jews not to

Pros and Cons of Mcdonalds
Why I will never eat at McDonalds
(Pros And Cons Of McDonalds)
The golden arches of McDonalds... Fast foods...Junk foods...Processed foods.... They all have taken

at least a couple of takers. No wonder they are so popular. In this essay I will be discussing the pros
and cons of fast foods in general and McDonalds particulalrly (as it s the world s largest chain of
hamburger fast food restaurants, serving around 68 million customers daily in 119 countries).

Our lives are busy, and this fast paced lifestyle also means that we have to eat our meals faster. Fast
food is a great alternative to making food at home because all you have to do is go through a drive
thru, wait for a few minutes, and you have a meal.
The most evident advantage of fast food is that it saves time. In today s fast paced life, there is nothing
better than getting a ready meal. Besides the time an individual has to spend in the kitchen, cooking a
meal also requires one to make a trip to the supermarket to buy the ingredients for the food. Then there
is the added effort and time consumed in washing and peeling the vegetables. All this makes eating
fast food score more preferably over cooking a meal for a busy individual. Besides time, cost saving
gives fast food an edge over the meal prepared in the kitchen. If one lives alone, then it is cheaper to
buy a meal at the supermarket instead of cooking it at home.
McDonald s, however, does have quite a few healthy choices in their menu. They also have a lot of
foods that are vegetarian.
McDonalds has a lot of other advantages:
wide rage of goods and services;
availability of goods and services. With McDonalds every person is welcome to come in and eat, no
matter what you look like or how much money you have. There is also not a certain dress code that
you have to oblige to.
they also provide many people with job opportunities. Many would say McDonalds is a great place to

Burmese Pythons Essay
Burmese pythons are destroying Florida s everglades by:Faith Stewart
What is 23 feet long and weighs up to 200 pounds. Burmese pythons, these pythons are taking over the
everglades and drawing novices to hunt them from all over. They are affecting the everglades
negatively,we need to do something about this now.
Clearly, the Burmese pythons are drawing hunters to the everglades. According to Andrew Ng in his
2013 article, To address the problem, the state s Fish and Wildlife commission is sponsoring its first
ever Python Challenge. This means that people from all across the country will be coming to
participate. This is a big deal because the hunters in this challenge are now fully allowed to kill these
pythons and would save some of the animals that they re killing and bring in some tourist. Andrew Ng

According to the article Burmese pythons : not the ideal pet ,Matt Piven states The python s unique
hinged jaws allow it to swallow an object five times as wide as it s own head. This statement means it
would be very difficult to kill a snake like this,so if the hunter was not survive. My reasoning is to
spread the word that the people we set out to kill these monsters needs to be trained not people that
have no experience they re basically putting themselves in a cage saying come at me. In addition a
newspaper article that goes by the name of Florida s python hunt by Andrew Ng he mentions with no
natural predators, these eating machines appear to be wiping out huge numbers of
opossums, raccoons, and many bird species. Ultimately, this matters because we can clearly tell by this
article that the Burmese pythons are carnivores(they eat meat). They could easily sneak in someone s
house and kill them. Pythons are not safe pets to have. In fact we shouldn t have them as pets at all

Christianity and The Lutheran Religion
The Lutheran religion was originally branched from Christianity, and is a massive Protestant
denomination currently. Nearly 66 million people worldwide practice this religion (Lutheranism).
Lutheran has a membership which exceeds any other Protestant denomination. Germany is the
primary Lutheran country, as it was from the start (Martin Luther 1483 1546, BBC). This religion
dates back to 1517, the founder of this religion was Martin Luther (McHugh, John).
Martin Luther was born on November 10th, 1483 in Eisleben, Germany (Michael J. O Neal/Sydney
Jones, 225). According to a legend, Martin Luther was riding a horse when a storm struck and he was
hit by lightening. He said: Help, Sainte Anne! I ll become a monk. He was saved and made an
Augustinian monk (Michael J. O Neal/Sydney Jones, 226). Two years later, Luther was ordained and
began teaching at the University of Wittenberg. In 1512 he earned a doctorate in theology
(Lutheranism).
Over the next few years, Martin Luther began to believe that the Catholic Church was being dishonest.
This lead Martin Luther to post his 95 theses against the practice of selling indulgence (Lutheranism).
He hoped for a reformation of the church, however once it became obvious to him that a reformation
would not occur; he began to share his own views. He continued to inform people on his perspective,
regardless of being excommunicated from the church.
Luther had transformed his view on the religion; believing that Christians are saved

King Henry Symbolism
A Contradictory King: The King is but a Man as I Am
Among all the characters of the play, I am most interested in the personalities and the changes of King
Henry. The bishop Ely declares, We are blessed in the change, so are all the English people (1.1.39).
His changes are from a youth to an adult and from a man without power to a king. The changes of his
status accompany the changes in his characteristics. Finally, As Rabkin questions:
Can the manipulative qualities that guarantee political success be combined in one man with the
spiritual qualities that make one fully open and responsive to life and therefore fully human? (Rabkin

Actually, I like the king much better after he disguises himself with the cloak of Erpingham. There his
superficially contradictory character is finally thrown off like a discarded cloak, and the youth in him
comes out again: Then, he starts to joke around with his former friend Pistol, telling him, Do not were
your dagger in your cap on Saint Davy s day lest Fluellen knocks that about yours (4.1.57 8). This is
the first joke that he tells in the play, showing that he is not serious throughout time. He also shows
much fear when he meets the three soldiers, saying to Williams, Though I speak it to you,/ I think the
King is but a man as I am (4.1.98 9) With the word though, the king is in fact implying that I should
not say so. This is not only because it is contradictory to condemn himself, but also because he
believes that a king should not show any cowardice. He should not possess this fragile human side in
his heart, as Adam or other human beings do. Nevertheless, he still feels that for a king, when he sees
reason of fears as we do, his fears, out of doubt, be of the same relish as ours are (4.1.105 6). We
prefer this speech of the king because he tells us that every man is the same. We prefer this moment of
the king because by seeing his weakness, we see also ourselves. We prefer this form of the king
because with a cloak and disguise, he is truest to himself and to us, without

Essay about Why we dropped the Atomic Bomb
Why we dropped the Atomic Bomb The dropping of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in
August of 1945 was a definite turning point in the Pacific War of World War II. Earlier that year,
Germany had been defeated and the world then turned its attention to the Pacific war. Most history
books state the argument that the dropping of the atomic bombs on Japan was necessary to stop the
war in order to save thousands of lives of American troops that were planning to invade Japan. Had
the bombs not been employed (so the wisdom goes), an enormous number of American troops would
have perished in an inevitable amphibious operation against the Japanese mainland. (McManus 1)

The B 29, an aircraft designed to fly long distances without refueling, began to systematically bomb
Japan. It was the B 29 that flew the atomic bombs to Japan. This aircraft took the war home to Japan.
(Garvey 45)
The B 29 firebombings on Tokyo and the effective blockade of supplies for Japan by the American
submarines weakened the Japanese empire. Meanwhile, the Americans troops and back home were fed
the idea that the Japanese would never surrender and the war would go on forever. But in fact, the
Japanese had sent peace feelers to the West as early as 1942, only six months after the December 1941
attack on Pearl Harbor. More would come in a flood long before the fateful use of the atomic bombs.
(McManus 1)
Even before the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the Japanese were divided into two groups.
The peace party included the Emperor Hirohito and officers in the navy. The war party , headed by
Army leader Tojo, included fanatical military members, believed that Japan s empire should cover all
the islands of the pacific and were responsible for the attack on the navy base in Pearl Harbor.
(McManus)
On different ocassions, the Japanese hinted their interest in peace negotiations through different
channels. They contacted the British after the the Battle of Midway with a message from the Japanese
foreign minister Togo. The message said that the Japanese was ready to be helpful if the

My Career And Education Goals
What does one do when they find themselves with all the experience in the world, but without
credentials to back it up? They re stuck. Sometimes, they re given advice: the simple answer is, go
back to school. I ve struggled with this simple answer for more than ten years, and I ve even taken a
stab at it myself, once or twice. What I ve come to realize is that my educational and career goals aren
t necessarily a sequential order of charted events. Instead, they re a marri go round of happenstance
encounters. In this essay, one will read how various opportunities have ultimately shaped my career
and education goals.

However, due to my efforts, one year after becoming the mail clerk for Admissions, I was offered a
new position within Admissions as a Credential Processor. The new job came with a miniscule raise
forty dollars, total. That didn t matter to me, though, and I was very pleased to have the opportunity to
gain more experience.
I remained a Credential Processor for five years. It was a job, but it didn t feel like a career. I was
comfortable, but I knew that I wanted more. I didn t know exactly what I wanted more of, but I
decided that going back to school would be a helpful way of figuring that out. The decision to go back
to school resulted in my application and acceptance into the Graduate School of Public Affairs at CU
Denver.
A year later, in 2009, I was still a credential processor, and still without a master s degree. Within the
first semester of graduate school, it became apparent that public administration wasn t of any interest
to me. Therefore, I decided not to continue in the program. Perhaps the outcome could have been a bit
different if I had put forth more effort into researching the intricacies of a public administration
degree, or if I d known what I truly wanted to be when I grew up. However, as the saying goes, when
one door closes, another one opens. This is exactly what happened.
In April 2014, the opportunity to take on a leadership role in my job presented itself and I jumped in

Mending Wall Vs. Tear Down This Wall
Introduction Good fences make good neighbors VS. Tear down this Wall. In both text one wants the
wall torn down, and they tear it down. While in the other text one wants it down but is too scared to
tear it down. Both text they deal with a wall separating then from something. Such as in Mending
wall, the wall is separating him and his neighbor; in Tear down this Wall, the wall is separating east
side and west side. Is separation a good thing?
body 1 Both Mending Wall and Tear Down This Wall deal with theme of separation. In Mending Wall,
the wall physically separated two neighbors. Every winter the wall is torn down by nature, yet come
spring time the wall is to be built back up. The two neighbors come together every year and wear their
fingers rough. While in Tear Down This Wall the Berlin Wall symbolizes separation of East and West.
They both have to deal with separation
body 2 Both text impact physical and emotionally to people, countries, and civilizations. In Robert

  • 2. Case Study Carotid Endarterectomy Carotid endarterectomy in Moyamoya disease: a case report We report the case of a 55 year old female who was operated for stenosis of the right internal carotid artery in the setting of Moyamoya disease previously treated with extensive carotid and cerebral vascular reconstructions. The atherosclerotic plaque was excised and the right internal carotid artery was repaired with bovine pericardium. The utilization of carotid endarterectomy in the surgical management of Moyamoya disease is poorly described in the literature. Moyamoya disease is progressive cerebral vasculopathy characterized by bilateral stenosis or occlusion of the arteries of the circle of Willis that entails a poor prognosis without cerebral revascularization. We report a case of severe stenosis of the right internal carotid artery refractory to percutaneous intervention in the setting of complex Moyamoya disease. CASE REPORT A 55 year old white female with a past medical history significant for ischemic stroke of the right frontal cortex, multiple episodes of transient ischemic attack, hypertension, and temporal arteritis presented to the hospital for right carotid endarterectomy (CEA). The Doll House by Henrik Ibsen THE DOLL HOUSE The Society above Individual Freedom or The Suppression of the Woman The author Henrik Ibsen used the play to elaborate on the irony of the 19th century culture of restriction of individual freedom and excessive adherence to societal norm at all cost without paying attention or having recourse to the core values and norms that brings about individual happiness and freedom. Torvald Helmer tried to elucidate the abnormality of seeking individual freedom instead of societal norm when he inquired from his wife; Nora ...And you don t consider what people will say . The society in Ibsen s A Doll House is seen higher than the individual person, for one to fit in he or she must strictly adhere to what the society demands and not what the individual wants. Nora was quick to express her frustration on the demands of the society when she replied Dr. Rank thus What do I care about tiresome Society? . Even the eating of Macaroons was also forbidden by Torvald and Nora s Father, Dr Rank could not hide his feeling upon the sight of Macaroons at Torvalds house when he inquired from Nora What, macaroons? I thought they were forbidden here , Nora who is also held by the claws of societal conformity had to lie to justify the possession of macaroons. • 5. Analysis Of John Hawthorne s White Whale Nathaniel Hawthorne is a standout amongst the most productive symbolists in American writing, and an investigation of his images is important to comprehension his books. As a rule, an image is something used to remain for something else. In writing, an image is frequently a solid article used to speak to a thought more theoretical and more extensive in degree and significance regularly an ethical, religious, or philosophical idea or quality. Images can go from the clearest substitution of one thing for another, to manifestations as monstrous, complex, and puzzling as Melville s white whale in Moby Dick. A moral story in writing is a story where characters, articles, and occasions have a shrouded importance and are utilized to present some widespread lesson. Hawthorne has an immaculate climate for the images in The Scarlet Letter on the grounds that the Puritans saw the world through moral story. For them, basic examples, similar to the meteor streaking through the sky, got to be religious or good understandings for human occasions. Items, for example, the framework, were formal images for such ideas as sin and contrition. While the Puritans made an interpretation of such customs into good and severe activities, Hawthorne turns their understandings around in The Scarlet Letter. The Puritan group sees Hester as a fallen lady, Dimmesdale as a holy person, and would have seen the hidden Chillingworth as an exploited person a spouse deceived. Rather, Hawthorne ... This quote would perfectly tie back to the author and therefore be relatable by the reader if she would tie up her loose ends. The reader is left confused as to why she doesn t elaborate after this key point and wondering if the author even realizes that she and Himmler are going through the same process. Occidentalism creates a dehumanising picture of the west, painted by its enemies. Buruma and Margalit (2004) state, Occidentalism has its origins in the West. Buruma (2004) argues, contemporary Islamic occidentalists are not fully foreign to the West they despise; many Islamic radicals borrow their anti western concepts from Russian and German philosophy. People with little history and even less intellectual capacity would have no idea why the hate and should hate the west, let alone understand the complex, pluralistic nature of western societies and culture. (Buruma and Margalit 2004:48) To argue that the main roots of anti western attitudes lie in the West is to belittle and underestimate the histories, traditions and cultures of non western societies. Anti westernism has been rising over the past two or three decades, it is currently closely associated with Islamic extremism. The Islamic contribution to Occidentalism is a religious vision of purity in which the idolatrous west has to be destroyed (Buruma 2004). Buruma and Margalit (2004) argue there are four hostile aspects of the occidental view of the West: a hatred of the city, rationality or the loss of the soul, an anti bourgeois attitude and anti feminism. • 12. Essay on Sleepy Hollow Book vs Movie The dominant spirit, however, that haunts this enchanted region, and seems to be commander in chief of all the powers of the air, is the apparition of a figure on horseback without a head. Although the movie Sleepy Hollow is based upon the book The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, there are also distinctions which allow each to tell their own tale. Washington Irving s short story inspired Tim Burton s film but did not limit it. The foundations of the two are much the same but their story lines unfold diversely. He is a self assured smart man in the story that always knows what he is doing. Unlike his written character, Burton s Ichabod faints frequently and never seems to know what he is doing. Ichabod Crane is two different people in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and Sleepy Hollow. The conclusions of the book and movie greatly differ from one another. In the end there seem to be one major relevant point. The short story s main closing idea is Katrina did not choose Ichabod. Whereas the film s final note is the Headless Horseman is gone and no longer out to kill. Ichabod and Katrina s fate together are not the same in the book and movie. They do not end up together in the book but they do in the movie. Ichabod s future also contrasts. There are rumors on what happened to him in the story, but mainly he simply disappears after facing the Headless Horseman. Shown in the film, Ichabod survives his meeting with the evil specter and together he and Katrina move to New York. The Legend of Sleepy Hollow the book and Sleepy Hollow the movie s closure are immensely differentiated. First, I will summarize and explain the skepticism Descartes brings to bear on small and universal elements in his first meditation. Second, I will summarize and explain the Cogito argument, Descartes famous I think, therefore I am (it should be noted that this famous implication is not actually something ever said or written by Descartes, but instead, an implication taken from his argument for his own existence). Descartes attacks the possibility of certainty with regards to the existence of small and universal elements with the possibility of our thoughts being altered by an omnipotent deceiver. In paragraph nine, he states, How do I know that he did not bring it about that there be no Earth at all, no heavens, no extended thing, no figure, no size, no place, and yet all these things should seem to me to exist precisely as they appear to do now. His point is that this omnipotent evil deceiver could create in our minds an understanding of mathematics and logic that is at odds with reality, causing us to construe everything wrongly. Thus Descartes ends this final and devastating doubt with the preliminary conclusion that everything he perceives can be called into doubt. Descartes answers his seemingly hopeless skepticism from the first meditation with the Cogito. The basic point of his Cogito argument is that for me to either perceive awry, or even to doubt my own existence, I must exist. It is, as Descartes says, I am, I exist is necessarily true every time it is uttered by me or conceived in my mind (Med2, par3). He makes two arguments for the Cogito in his second meditation. Traditional dishes such as haggis, mince and tatties, and arbroath smokies indicate this. Mutton, beef, and fish have been so popular in Scottish cuisine throughout time simply because they are the most readily available ingredients. Dairy products are also widely used. These are provided by the heavy grazing aspect of their agriculture industry, and their proximity to the ocean. Because of this, mutton, beef, and fish are the main sources of protein in Scotland. Also, lipids are most commonly received through the consumption of fish oil or dairy products such as milk. Products such as oats, barley, and root vegetables, mostly potatoes, are also extremely common in the Scottish diet, for the fertile lowlands and temperate climate provide perfect growing conditions for such foods. This means that carbohydrates are mostly provided by potatoes and oat and barley products such as cereal. However, in a health survey conducted in 2014, it was found that only one in five Scottish adults met the daily recommended amounts of fruits and vegetables. Likewise to the feminist theory the short story Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perems Gillmarn exposes the mental state of women in the late 1800s, and perharps even of the author s own struggle with society run by men. Additionally, the three main areas of study and points of criticism in the feminist theory, likewise to the short story exist through, the diffrences between men and women, power dynamics between men and women and the female experience. The environment the protagonist is given is similar to a prison; the heavy bedstead, barred windows and the gate at the end of the stairs can be corresponding to the cast of things we would see at the prison. Although Jane feels restrained by her husband, the most important display of the feminist theory is the psychological Imprisonment. • 19. Cape Cod Erosion Cape Cod, a little arm that sticks out into the Atlantic Ocean, is a popular destination all year round but especially in the Summer for beachgoers. Cape Cod was formed about 18,000 years ago when the glaciers started to melt, but how was it formed? It formed through a process called weathering and erosion. Weathering is the process of wearing away or changing the appearance or texture of (something) by long exposure to the water, wind, and even ice. Erosion is the process that takes the results of weathering away by water, wind, or other natural processes. The sediment was picked up by the glaciers and slowly eroded down towards Cape Cod. As the glaciers moved south, the warmer weather began to melt the glaciers and they dumped their load of sediment to form Cape Cod. In total, 3 glaciers formed Cape Cod. The middle lobe retreated first leaving behind sediment that created the middle part of the arm (the bicep). Next the easternmost lobe retreated and the sediment it left behind created the upper part of the arm (Provincetown). When the last glaciers melted about 18,000 years ago leaving behind an usual looking landform. Today, scientists know that the glaciers brought the sediment because they are all different colors, textures, and all have different layers. A big problem in Cape Cod is beach erosion. The first reason why the beaches are eroding is because of rock jetties. Rock jetties that separate beaches interrupt the natural transfer of sand by the tides and wind. The ... Women seem to express a higher level of caring, concern (love of people), honesty, loyalty, and conscientiousness than men (Battistina Costantino, 2016). Women may come across these traits naturally, or maybe it is something that was taught to them when they were young. A woman may have developed the skill while learning how to fulfill her adult roles as the family caregiver, diplomat, and household manager/coordinator. When she entered the work force this skill would have already been sharpened, ingrained in her demeanor (Battistina Costantino, 2016). There is an opinion that professions that need a high level of emotional labor are filled by women and that these professions are typically lower paying, contributing to the idea that women get paid less than men. I believe if this skill can be taught to women, then a man can be taught if he hasn t already developed the skill. All I need to do is look at professions usually populated by men, such as police and firefighters to know they have it. These men hold back all their natural instinct and common sense to run away from danger instead of running to it. They run to the scene to take control; to save lives, stop the criminal or fight the fire. Also, as more women work in professions prominently dominated by men, such as police officers, firefighters, doctors, judges, and politicians, so do men work in more dominated fields by women, such ... At the same time, companies are seeking to better understand the extent to which social media can and should play a role in customer engagement (Parent, Plangger, and Bal 2011). Our knowledge regarding social media driven brand consumer engagement and what constitutes effective social media strategy is only now developing. Although both industry and academic research has begun to examine the role of social media within firm customer interactions, there is a continued need for empirical investigation of usage characteristics and behaviors with respect to social media and online brand engagement, particularly among younger consumers. Accordingly, our study investigates the role of social media among younger consumers as they actively engage online with brands spanning the product, service, and media sectors. We administered a written diary to fifty eight individuals over a one week period in late Fall 2011. Diary data captured background information on social media usage and recorded 406 discrete company respondent interactions across two primary social media platforms Facebook and Twitter as well as email. Email interactions were included in the study because this form of contact is part of the electronic ecosystem connecting consumers and businesses and is complementary to social media usage. Our study makes two contributions to the growing body of social media marketing research. First, we uncover several themes characterizing online brand consumer

Fast food is a great alternative to making food at home because all you have to do is go through a drive thru, wait for a few minutes, and you have a meal. The most evident advantage of fast food is that it saves time. In today s fast paced life, there is nothing better than getting a ready meal. Besides the time an individual has to spend in the kitchen, cooking a meal also requires one to make a trip to the supermarket to buy the ingredients for the food. Then there is the added effort and time consumed in washing and peeling the vegetables. All this makes eating fast food score more preferably over cooking a meal for a busy individual. Besides time, cost saving gives fast food an edge over the meal prepared in the kitchen. If one lives alone, then it is cheaper to buy a meal at the supermarket instead of cooking it at home. Nearly 66 million people worldwide practice this religion (Lutheranism). Lutheran has a membership which exceeds any other Protestant denomination. Germany is the primary Lutheran country, as it was from the start (Martin Luther 1483 1546, BBC). This religion dates back to 1517, the founder of this religion was Martin Luther (McHugh, John). Martin Luther was born on November 10th, 1483 in Eisleben, Germany (Michael J. O Neal/Sydney Jones, 225). According to a legend, Martin Luther was riding a horse when a storm struck and he was hit by lightening. He said: Help, Sainte Anne! I ll become a monk. He was saved and made an Augustinian monk (Michael J. O Neal/Sydney Jones, 226). Two years later, Luther was ordained and began teaching at the University of Wittenberg. In 1512 he earned a doctorate in theology (Lutheranism). Over the next few years, Martin Luther began to believe that the Catholic Church was being dishonest. This lead Martin Luther to post his 95 theses against the practice of selling indulgence (Lutheranism). He hoped for a reformation of the church, however once it became obvious to him that a reformation would not occur; he began to share his own views. He continued to inform people on his perspective, regardless of being excommunicated from the church. Luther had transformed his view on the religion; believing that Christians are saved ... Actually, I like the king much better after he disguises himself with the cloak of Erpingham. This is the first joke that he tells in the play, showing that he is not serious throughout time. He also shows much fear when he meets the three soldiers, saying to Williams, Though I speak it to you,/ I think the King is but a man as I am (4.1.98 9) With the word though, the king is in fact implying that I should not say so. This is not only because it is contradictory to condemn himself, but also because he believes that a king should not show any cowardice. He should not possess this fragile human side in his heart, as Adam or other human beings do. Nevertheless, he still feels that for a king, when he sees reason of fears as we do, his fears, out of doubt, be of the same relish as ours are (4.1.105 6). Most history books state the argument that the dropping of the atomic bombs on Japan was necessary to stop the war in order to save thousands of lives of American troops that were planning to invade Japan.
